Open your bible anon because we're continuing Jesus Quest.
Jesus returned from his trials in the desert to find himself lost in the year 2000 of the 21st century. Unable to speak modern languages, Jesus is thrown in the asylum where befriends the doctors. The doctors teach Jesus how to use modern technology and how to speak many common modern languages.

On January 1, 2001, a doctor forges Jesus a passport and drives him to the airport. Jesus buys a one-way ticket to (vote result) the Vatican. Pope John Paul II (vote result) announces Christ's return to the world. Jesus and his followers traveled to Italy, (vote result) Greece, and Constantinople, preaching to Catholics and Orthodox but neglecting Protestants.

Protestant spies uncovered catholic sex abuse scandals that are big enough to implicate a cardinal. Crowlian spies infiltrated the Protestants and convinced them that Jesus is a fake catholic deception.

The Protestants challenged the Catholics to a debate. Jesus and the Pope fly from Istanbul to All Saints' Church, Wittenburg, Germany. The Protestant factions stand on the left, the Catholics on the right, and Jesus in the middle in front of the altar.

Ground Rules:
Jesus does not kill.
Jesus does not commit physical violence toward humans.
(Jesus did curse a fig tree and eat animals and nobody considers that to be violence except breatharians.)
Jesus does not command armies nor does he command others to kill or hurt for him. (Except in Revelations but that's inappropriate for part 2 of a Jesus Christ Chrismas-themed Quest).
Jesus does insult his enemies the Pharisees by comparing them to snakes and dogs. Swearing at people is non-violent.

Miracles:
Jesus uses miracles to teach lessons and parables.
Jesus uses miracles to feed the hungry, cure the sick, and raise the dead.
Jesus sometimes uses miracles for fun like turning water into wine.

Jesus does not use miracles to prove his divinity as the Son of God.
Jesus does not use miracles to perform shows on stage.
Jesus does not use miracles to get rich or make money.

Jesus might have used miracles to pull pranks as a child.

The Pope opens up the debate with (vote result) an apology:
>>
part 1: >>4570856
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/4570856/

Pope John Paul II speaks:
"An excuse is worse and more terrible than a lie, for an excuse is a lie guarded. Sexual abuse by some clergy and religious has caused great suffering and spiritual harm to the victims. It is a profound contradiction of the teaching and witness of Jesus Christ. We wish to apologize unreservedly to the victims for the pain and disillusionment caused to them."
"The church is seeking open and just procedures to respond to complaints in this area and is committed to compassionate and effective care for the victims, their families, the whole community, and the offenders themselves.”

"Every word that you speak is as pretty as a flower but are you going to do anything about it?" said Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey. "Step forth Pedro and tell us all what you told me."

11-year-old Pedro Delrocce delivers a tear-streaked confession that implicates several Catholic clergies including Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, Archbishop of Washington, D.C.

Choose one:

>"I was made aware of allegations against McCarrick but did not believe them. I did not want to believe them."

>"We must have due justice and proper canonical trials. You don't confess your sins publicly, it's private between the priest and the penitent. >4599786" The men mentioned may be guilty or may be innocent but they have already been convicted in the eyes of the mob.

>Our spies have evidence you have covered up for Pedarast Peter Ball. While we have sinned by turning a blind eye to the wolves who have entered our flock - so too have you sinned. All sins must be unveiled today.

Good question
The pope would speak option 1.

Bishop Ritzy, the pope's aid and spymaster, would speak most of option 2 but the pope would say the last sentence: "The men mentioned may be guilty or may be innocent but they have already been convicted in the eyes of the mob."

Bishop Ritzy would speak the entirety of option 3.
>>

>Our spies have evidence you have covered up for Pedarast Peter Ball. While we have sinned by turning a blind eye to the wolves who have entered our flock - so too have you sinned. All sins must be unveiled today.
If possible add that they need to properly confess to the priest

Does Jesus have divine knowledge? Can he see into peoples souls and shatter deception? Maybe now would be a good time for the big man to speak.

Christ is fully God and fully man, so yes.

>"I was made aware of allegations against McCarrick but did not believe them. I did not want to believe them."'

Could anyone enlighten me regarding the details of option two? The protestants made this public to convince the world that Jesus is a fake because they assumed the church would attempt to deflect or bury this. So being fully honest and handing off the abusers to the secular authorities seems to be the best option since Jesus cleaning house without any excuses would foster faith in the church institution.

The reporters outside are in a frenzy and none of them is more filled with schadenfreude than Peter Gillibrand of the BBC.

While no reporters were allowed inside All Saint's church, their cameramen still broadcasted the catholic-protestant debate to the entire world and on big screens outside the cathedral.

Such was his hatred for Christians that Peter had bribed his boss and backstabbed two colleagues with rumors to get this coveted on-the-ground reporting position. The harsh upbringing of his strict Calvinist mother made him turn his back on Christ. Now, the Christian scandals he so desperately sought for his entire career are finally out in the open. Yet his early elation turns sour as Gillibrand realizes the design of Jesus's plan.

Members of the protestant faction are in shock but Archbishop George Carey stays calm. "We too admit to our negligence concerning the safety of our parishioners and for that, I apologize. Yet what now? Our scandals are out in the open and even more denominations will soon have their scandals revealed as well. Will this imposter you Catholics claim to be the messiah Lord Jesus Christ returned pray away our sins? Or maybe he will drag us all to hell?"

Jesus steps forth from the altar and speaks: "Bring me all the accused and I will judge them in private. I will determine who is righteous and who has sinned. The falsely accused I will proclaim innocent and the sinners will be sentenced to a life of prayer and penance (house arrest). But those who lie to me or try to flee will be given to the police and the public courts and the public prisons."

"The imposter reveals his Catholic trickery." The Crowlian infiltrator, Anglican Bishop Hallock, speaks: "They plot to accuse our righteous of sex crimes while giving cover to the Catholic sex pests of their own by lying about their innocence. How do we know you are not the Anti-Christ? Show us that you are truly the Son of God"

Choice 1:
For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist. 2 John 1:7
>"The antichrist is a term for any person who denies Christ. While the false prophet, the dragon, and the beast of revelation will all come much, much later in the future, the antichrist is not the title of a single person but of all of them and their servants. Including you Crowlian viper. You who has infiltrated the Church of England and spewed lies about me. Clouding the heart with silver words. Whoever checks your background, citizen or cop, will find the evidence of your secret beliefs."

Choice 2:
Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
> "I am the son of God and God the Father is above me. I claim no throne. I brand with no mark. I behead no one. I am peaceful and nonviolent. We are all brothers and I am but the elder brother who shows you the way so that you may know God the Father as I know him.
I will show you no signs for you already know the truth.
"I will not force you to participate in this Judging of Priests but let all who believe come to me that I may give him my blessing or forgiveness. And all who choose to stay away let them do so. I remain peaceful and non-violent."

I know you're all joking but I want it to be peaceful because Jesus Quest started around Christmas and I wanted it to have the Christmas spirit. I naively thought it would finish by Christmas and it looks like it will take the better part of this year. I think it would be too easy if Jesus just took up the sword and conquered the world. Peaceful conflict resolution is definitely a challenge to write. I've even resorted to reading The Imitation of Christ for inspiration.

Thank you for more Kepios dialogue. The samsonian monk would not exist as a character without crusaderbros and your suggestions. The christian warrior is a part of Christianity that modern-day churches tend to neglect and it is a concept we will be exploring more while still being committed to the ground rules.

After more bickering about church politics and various other accusations - the bigs bell tolls and the sun sets and the debate ends. The faithful who know that Jesus is here continue to believe. The doubters who deny Jesus continue to deny. Like most modern debates, both sides leave believing they have won. Yet like the stars shine small lights through the ignorant darkness of the night sky - does Jesus's proclamation for a voluntary judging-of-the-clergy ripple far and wide.

Priests and pastors, and ministers far and wide travel to Germany so Jesus may judge them. Some are sinners who wish to be released - and after forgiveness are still sentenced to a life of prayer and penance (house arrest) or banishment from the clergy for lesser crimes like mismanagement of church funds(theft).

Others were falsely accused by flawed courts and sinister people. These men, Jesus blesses and they return to their communities exalted and yet still suspected because that is how human are.

On February 24, 2001, Pope John Paul II flies back to the Vatican because of the many changes he must implement and the mountaintop of paperwork awaiting him.
On February 25, 2001, Jesus along with his retinue including Mahill, Bishop Ritzy, and Brother Kepios, board a second plane back to Constantinople to judge the orthodox priests and check on the conversion campaign and the immigration campaign. They have a party to celebrate work well done on the plane and drink wine and fall asleep.

Mahill wakes with a startle and opens the blinds over his window and looks down on the scenery below.
"Hold on a second. Look out the window. It's the bogazi. The bosporus. The straight. The river. We just flew over the river! We passed it!
That's behind us. What's on the other side?"
Mahill opens tears open the curtain on the other side and wakes Bishop Ritzy who curses and knocks wine over his vestments.
"What the devil's gotten into you?"
"I know that cityscape - that skyline. It's Ankara. Ankara to our left and now we're passing it. What's going on? Wake up. Jesus wake up!"

Jesus shakes his long hair awake and stares down the barrel of a handgun. "This is a highjacking," says the terrorist as he removes his mask to reveal the face of Mohammed Mujibor.

"Who?" asks Bishop Ritzy.
"Mujibor. The guy who trashed our charity supplies back in Istanbul a few weeks ago," says Mahill."
"Oh, I must have missed that."

"Lay your hands off The Lord!!!" shots Kepios as he charges forth but two other hijackers point their guns at him and he stops.
"Stand down Kepios," says Jesus. The Al-Qaeda terrorists bound the Christians with rolls of ducktape.

"We've done it. We've taken over their plane. Now let's kill them."
"Wait," says Mujibor. "We need to send a message. Kill Jesus publicly on live TV. Follow our orders and bring him to Afganistan."
"But we have him now. Flying over Iran to get to Afganistan is risky because those Shi'as could just shoot us all down."
"Our Emir has commanded and we obey."

The plane lands bumpily on a makeshift airstrip at a ramshackle military base in the middle of a nowhere desert. Jesus, Mahil, Ritzy, Kepios, and the rest are brought, backs over their heads into trucks that venture deep into the desert caves. After a long journey, the Al-Qaeda terrorists remove their hoods and Jesus recoils in shock at the Mufti who sits before him.

Before them sits the fattest Mufti any man has ever seen. Shifa-al-Nima stuffs his face with falafels as he laughs at the captures Christians. Crumbs fall from his mouth onto the floor and cave roaches crawl out from under his fat folds to eat them.
"Croochifye Dem"
"What did he say?"
"He says that he's going to crucify us."
"Oh joy."

The Al-Qaeda neckbeards lead Jesus and co. outside the cave and towards a bunch of crosses erected on the hillside of a dune.

Shouts echo across the courtyard followed by the sound of gunfire. The neckbeards, already nervous about their orders to crucify Jesus, abandon their posts and run away.
"Now is the time Kepios. Free us from our restraints," says Jesus."
Kepios flexes his muscles and bulges through the duct tape. With Youtch and Oww and cries of pain does Kepios tear the ducktape bounding the Christians.
"I am glad we are free," says Bishop Ritzy, "but didn't you, Lord, say there would be no violence?"
"I said that I would NOT personally lead an army but that is very different from taking advantage of two other armies fighting each other and giving us the chance to escape the guys who just wanted to kill us. Now follow me."

>Escape down the mountain paths into the valley below. You may find a village at the foot of the mountain or you may find nothing.
>Hide in the deep darkness of the winding caves. This might be the safest option. Or some people might be shot in the darkness.

Jesus instructs Bishop Rizty, Brother Kepios, and the others to remove their priestly robes and monk vestments. They do so and find that everyone is wearing tattered desert robes under their christian garments. Their old clothes fly off into the wind. Then, Jesus removes his white garment and it turns into white flag that he waves.

Run-down jeeps drive up and the Christians are surrounded by the attacking army. One of the soldiers introduces himself as Abu Mamoud, a loyalist Afghan of the Northern Alliance / United Front.

Jesus speaks the butchered Arabic, he learned from Dr. Leibowitz, and introduces himself as Jonathan.

"Are they another muslim terrorist group?" whispers Bishop Ritzy.
"No, they are a coalition of Afghans supported by other countries like Iran and Russia. They fight against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda," whispers Mahill.
"So they're democratic?"
"They are dangerous but they can help us."

"... and why are you here in Afganistan?" says Mamound as he brushes the sand off his rifle?

"Before you stands Jes-"
"Quiet Kepios," whispers Mahil pulling him by the ear, "we must not let them know who we are yet because they would kill us."

"I can't take this anymore! We should not be hiding."
"Tell that to the 8000 faithful Christian Afghanis who worship in secret every day. Would you have us all die? Men, women, and children. And become martyrs with you?"
"We should announce that the Lord Jesus Christ is here and be truthful." Kepios runs out of the basement church before the others can stop him.

Earlier: The Northern Alliance brought Jesus and co. to a dried-up little village near the mountain ridges of Afganistan. Jesus said there was water in the ground and he told the men of the village where to dig. And when the men dug where he instructed, lo and behold there was water. A well was built and the village rejoiced.

Arash had long-lived without hope - joining to fight against the Taliban was the only way of supporting his wife and ailing mother. He thought 'Jonathan' looked like Jesus when his squad came upon them in the desert. Now after the miracle of discovering water did he now confirm and realize the return of the lord. Arash invited Jesus into his house and revealed to him the congregation of 12 who worshipped in secret in the basement under the pretense of a backgammon club. But Kepios still smoldered under the weight of this secrecy and had run off to reveal the truth.

"His little stunt has cost us! Now our secret church has been discovered and we will all die!" says Arash.
"Run if you want boy. I will not leave my home village. I am prepared to die," says Arash's mother, Salima. A few of the faithful side with Salima and want to stay while others side with her son and want to leave.

Choose one:
>Run after Kepios and stop him.

> Let Kepios reveal the truth: Jesus surrenders to the Afghan authorities to buy time for everyone else to escape. The faithful who are more likely to resist leaving their homes will now be willing to flee.

>Let Kepios reveal the truth: Using peaceful negotiations will make the Northern Afghan Muslims unlikely to kill the secret Christians right away. They will spend weeks throwing stones at Christian houses and shops and bullying their children and harassing them first. During that time, the 12 faithful can pack their belongings and leave with Jesus and co. on an exodus into the desert. Salima and her faction will resist this and will prefer to die in their home village.

'Jesus in Jail!'
Mohammed Zusa spits out his coffee as he reads the newspaper's outrageous headline. He cannot believe it and reads it again. Jesus. In. Jail.
His wife screeches at him for spewing coffee all over the table but he is already rushing out the door, into his dusty car driving as fast as he can to the prison.

Zusa screeches his car to a halt and almost hits demonstrators in the middle of the street. One crowd chants "Infidel. Infidel" while the second crowd chants "Isa! Isa!"
Zusa elbows his way through the crowd and into the prison. He bribes the warden and is taken to see Jesus.
Zusa kneels before the bars of Jesus's cell door. "Blessed be you Isa the Prophet second only to Muhammad, peace be upon him."
"Rise Zusa and greet me as a brother."
"You receive not only a brother today, great one, but a lawyer. The best defense lawyer in all of Afganistan ... or so my mother tells me, says Zusa as he smiles wide like the crescent moon with a full set of shiny teeth."

Mahill is tired. He has done all that he can to keep Bishop Ritzy and Brother Kepios from going at each others' throats. Kepios who had endangered them all and yet whose strength was needed. Evacuating the secret Christians from that dirt-sink village was hard because some were very old and others were very young and Kepios carried four elderly on his back. Most of the group were sleeping upstairs at an inn and he was downstairs at the bar nursing a well-deserved drink.
"Look Mahill", says Arash, "Jesus is on TV." Mahill raises his weary head as the bar patrons crowd around the TV, which would normally show football, now showing the trial of Jesus.

The prosecutor was dogmatic and vivacious and an expert in Sharia Law. He accused Jesus of being a fake, a blasphemer, and a CIA asset. He recommended the death penalty.
Zusa put his hand on Jesus's shoulder and rose like a cat stretching in the sun. "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury:"

Seems like a religious matter.

Relating to that we all believe in one God and have similar origins seems the best diplomatic option. Also, if they refuse, we can mog them on a Cross.

This should work on a court of Taliban, lol

Looks like dishonor Muhammad option wins.
I'll aim to post within the next 3 days. Reading all this Christian literature is making me considering taking the Sabbath seriously - or maybe a Mabbath (no work mondays).

Pope John Paul II was first horrified and then he got fuming mad.
First, Al-Qaeda terrorists highjack Jesus's plane and fly him to Afganistan.
Then, President George W. Bush declares war on Afganistan.
An entire army would just make things worse. This was clearly a mission for a small select group of elite soldiers...

Captain Miller >>4619418 surveyed the Al-Qaeda hideout. Caves carved deep into the mountainside by the hands of God through the passage of time. Deserted. Not a soul remained, save for himself and his small band of mostly Swiss mercenaries. He had done a lot of bad things as a soldier-for-hire and now that the pope had promised him and his elite mercs with "plenary indulgence", this was his chance for redemption. Vatican money helped sweeten the deal too.

Woof! Woof! Woof!

The dogs had picked up a trail. Miller only hoped they could find a way to save Jesus before his tracks were washed away by the winds and the desert sand

In the Koran, it says that Isa is the predecessor of Muhammed, pbuh, as Isa himself succeeded Yayah the Baptist. By treating Jesus poorly, you dishonor Muhammad, pbuh.

The gallery goes quiet. No one wants to insult the Great Prophet.

"Sssssharia law states that this Jew is..."
"Sharia law states that Isa is a Muslim. The Koran says that Jesus is a Muslim. That the prophets Daniel and Elija and Elisha, and the Kings David and Solomon are all Muslims. Did Islam exist during their time? No. And yet all of these great men are considered to be Muslim. They are grandfathered in. How can you claim to be faithful to the Prophet Muhammed, pbuh, if you dishonor and mistreat the men who have come before him? How can you fault the Christians and the Jews when Muhammed was born after their time?"

"Alu Akbar! ALU AKBAR!" a man from the gallery stands up and opens his tunic to reveal a bomb. One long second passes. Then two. He checks the explosives strapped to his chest for errors. The men beside him tackle him and wrestle the dud bomb vest off and throw him out of the court and into the street buck naked. The enraged crowd mobs him.

"STOP!"
Jesus stands puts his hand on the failed suicide bomber's shoulder. The failed bomber looks at Jesus with bewilderment.
"That man just tried to kill us all!"
"You were not the only dignitary in the crowd. The President of True Afganistan, and various high judges and family heirs - all sat in the court as well."
"He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone."

The crowd goes silent. Even the most self-righteous and arrogant among the afghans present - do lower their hands. It is one thing to read about Jesus, and a completely different world to bear witness to that commanding presence.
"He is a terrorist - a criminal. We must do something with him. We cannot just let him go."

The failed Al-Qaeda exploder flees on a camel while the crowd of Northern Afghans, who he tried to bomb, ride their own camels and chase him out of the city. He feels relief at being spared by Jesus but also fears for what comes next.

The Northern Afghan elite, who once found Jesus to be haram, now brownnose him and try to win his favor with gifts.

Commander Miller and his rescue squad of Swiss mercenaries arrive at the city. To his surprise, Jesus is perfectly healthy and well and has attained social prominence among the locals.
Jesus takes Miller aside and whispers: "Mahill and the other Christians are in danger."

Mahill and Arash exhale sighs of relief as the TV announcer says the courtroom suicide bomber turned out to be a dud. The mood in the bar is uneasy around him. "We have been recognized," says Arash." Soldiers enter the bar and restrain Mahill and Arash. "Take them to the holding cells. We will decide what to do with these converters and traitors in the morning."
"But Jesus has been proven to be real," says Mahill, "your Northern general is on TV right now saying that he accepts them."
"We are loyal to warlord Muhammed Tal Abdulah and he says the Northern Alliance is compromised. Take them away."

Tal Abdulah reclines on his ottoman and ponders the day's reports. He is just keeping the Christians in prison but if Al-Qaeda were to suddenly attack and kill the Christians well... That would give him plausible deniability while appeasing his most militant followers. Perfect.

The failed bomber arrives at an Al-Qaeda hideout. He delivers Jesus's message of protection and begs and grovels for forgiveness.
A Taliban arms backer scoffs under his breath: "These Al-Qaeda dogs are useless."
Fat Mufti speaks: "Jesus can only be at one place at one time. Jesus is in a big city while our informants have told us Jesus's followers are in prison in his small town. Capture the Christians and kill them in a public execution broadcasted live to the entire world. This will prove that no one should follow Jesus."

Captain Miller takes off his helmet in resignation. "We don't even know what town the fleeing Christians are in and even if we did, we won't be able to get there in time before Al-Qaeda kills them."
"Oh, ye of little faith, says Jesus, God the Father will give us time."

>Endless Night
Rescue the Christians from Tal Abdulah before Al-Qaeda gets there. Miller knows that Al-Qaeda prefers to execute its victims on live TV. They will wait for daylight to do so and in that time, we can have a prison break and rescue the Christians. The night will be miraculously long giving plenty of time for a fight and rescue. This will attract the least amount of attention.

>Endless Desert
Al-Qaeda forces race across the desert to kill the Christians but no matter how far they travel and how fast they go - they never seem to get any closer. Are they traveling in circles? They will bicker among each other. Eventually, they will give up and turn back or they might meet one of their many enemy armies who hate their guts. This choice will strike the fear of God in them. (The Vatican hired Swiss mercenaries will NOT fight Al-Qaeda directly in this choice.)

Jesus Quest is moving to akun and will post the link here within one week's time because I prefer writing Jesus Quest once every Sabbath instead of every 1 or 2 days.
