Skirmish games are a collaborative effort between players and QM, with each player controlling their own character to co-operate with other players in the party to explore the environment, clear objectives, and advance their developments. The QM provides the board for play, and operates the interactions made visible for other players with each update posted to the thread. From there each active player replies to the most recent [Action phase] post to show the QM what their actions for the turn will be, and the QM processes those before showing results. This cycle repeats until the board has been cleared, a required objective has been met, or the party fails to successfully meet either of the prior two outcomes in time. Outside of exploration and combat players are able to level up and advance their characters, participate in story events, or interact with other characters (player and non-player controlled) in order to cater to their own experience.

Questions on advanced spellcasting! Does each word added to a phrase require a channel action? IE "|> cast/ 'soothe twin soothe" or "|> cast/'soothe >channel/'twin > channel/'soothe" to create a +2 (item's harm), twinned soothe spell? don't >actions have a 1 phase cooldown?
Does the bit at the bottom of the second rules image mean that >cast > channel/yce would force yce/yce because the >channel is applied to modifier and base of the >cast?

So basic spellcasting is using the standard >Cast input or using that input to cast a wielded effect right?

Advanced spellcasting is using >channel to add the effect of a wielded casting trait to the next cast input. Channeled effects persist between turns so long as you maintain the channel, and you can stack additional effects up if you keep dedicating turns to it. However, you can use overwatch to prepare channels much the same as you can use overwatch to get duplicate inputs out over the course of the action and world phases of the turn rotation.

In regard to channel effects whatever happens after the [,] of a casting trait is what channeling will add to the final cast. Stuff that overlaps (such as if two effects apply POW as damage) do not stack unless they're applied by separate targeting elements. Something like applying two AoE's on top of one another will apply their effects separately.

See, I wouldn't have worked that out at all. The stat lines for all of the cast traits suddenly have become a lot more readable too.
One last thing! Fast casting options are available to all, right? I couldn't work out why >- dart would be used when >- cast and |> cast actions existed, but with what you just said about channeling being done before casts (I'd figured it was after), is it that >- dart doesn't interact with it and scholars can use >- dart while building a phrase?

The thing about tap input casts is they're excellent for producing quick casting effects that you've stocked up via channel, or as a means to get out multiple spells in the same turn. Channel a spells' status effect then toss it out with a dart to open up a combination with a normal cast. If you check out the document posted at the beginning of the game (over here >>4621344 ) you'll be able to read the raw text behind the otherwise key symbol system.

I see. I've been reading the text doc here and there, there's a lot in there that isn't in the rules pages. I think I've sort of screwed myself xp wise compared to the others but maybe this goblin hat will let me snoop around a bit and find something.

Plans for the map are finalized and rendering has already began. Most of the map still needs to be populated but beyond that and an incomplete section floating around there's not much left that needs to be figured out.

The next map is also going to include its own downtime area at the end, though ascending to it and the other downtime mechanics will not change. It'll just be a pre-loaded downtime zone this time around, so players for the most part will need to wait for the majority of the group to have left the map before they can partake.
