With some hesitation we start at the beginning.

The alarm screams to life as the Emperor of Mankind rushes to his most precious project. Malcador, somewhat younger than most would see him rushes to his friends side as they witnesses his Primarchs, start to be whisked away by the warp. The containers each destined for a different location by machinations of the dark gods of the warp, angered by the Emperor of Mankind and his plans. The Emperor reaches out against the warp desperate with Malcador assisting to hold them back, as Erda, the mother, misguided in her bizarre machinations tries to give her sons a different life.

As this titanic struggle occurs for the fate of mankind itself, the pods begin to take their dark flight through the Immaterium. Several sailing in different directions, guided as some corrections are made last minute. Then one pod seems to be knocked astray. As this happens a pod marked XI is reached out to. It is moved by something from not yet to be, yet something that is real. “Maybe this time, things can be different after all.” A voice like thunder says in a gentle tone. “Go. Find Glory. My Son.” As a golden hand guides the pod a different way far off course.

The pod goes towards a different system the thundering voice cheers triumphantly as the pod moves, glowing in bright gold as it’s sigils seem to echo in space about it. This time. Maybe this time. Before it was different. Now things could go, perhaps as they should have.
>>
I give you a choice

Where do you want this pod to crash.

I want this to be done well, so I am willing to give more details on each planet listed besides what is already available.

> De’lormosa
Classification: Feudal World/Ocean World/Waste World
The planet of Delomosa is a vast blue fresh water ocean. While the ocean flourishes with life the only thing resembling dry land are very small islands, and long stretches of shoals, with the rest of the planet being open ocean. Life here either survives on the shoals, the islands, or on large boat cities and rafts. Other sentient worlds in the system dump their garbage and waste on to this planet leaving some artifical islands of waste that are shifting and churning. Civilization at it’s peak is a mostly feudal society of roving pirates who fight over territory and the wastes that the other planets leave. Beneath the waves giant sea monsters run wild, as well as other creatures. Rumors of an advanced underwater hive city persist in some circles but so do rumors of mermaids. Culture varies regionally, but the people are hot tempered, decisive and intuitive.

> Hershk:
Classification: Tomb World/Dead World
Tomb Status: unknown.
-
A world of shadows, flames, alkaline salt flats, fire storms and annual radioactive and electric hurricanes. Very little life is found outside ruins, mountain forts, and ornate tunnel systems. Life is extremely brutal, short and tribal as techno barbarians and darker entities roam the wastelands. The various natural forms of life here are all extremely dangerous. There are rumors of Necrons stalking parts of the planets waste as well as forbidden caches of technology in great vaults and complexes, as well as darker things hidden in the ground. The humans here are all grim, intelligent, and strong. Cultural inspirations are Mesopotamian and Assyrian.

>Colomivar:
Classification: Jungle World/Frontier World
A planet with vast continental jungles filled with exceptionally deadly wildlife and fauna, high mountains and volcanoes, dangerous and even boiling rivers. The oceans are small with various islands but run deep in pockets. Civilization is markedly different, with some civilized cities are present they are in a very small minority as most life is tribal. This divide is marked by wealth and technology. Rumors swirl of a xenos civilization and monsters in the deepest depths of the oceans, as well as other whispers of giant humans whom dwell in the mountains. The Humans are determined, resourceful, creative and hardy. Cultural inspirations are Polynesian, South American and Native American influences.

Togyo Angla :
Clasification: Civilized world.
A world with a population of 10 billion humans, with great technical cities and is in a process of building it’s first hive. There is great political instability, as well as disparity between much of the population and a growing wealth gap. The planet is being struggled for in terraforming and government competition and activity means progress is made in a combination of slow then fast leaps. Unknown to most of the population the ruling class is not human, and it keeps the human population inline in a life that most of the population experiences as near poverty, poverty and slavery. There are savage and powerful fauna and disturbing flora in various locations. The population itself varies from tribal in some pockets to feudal, to very civilized. The humans vary in culture from location to location as well as their attitude. The planet is always on the cusp of space travel and some think that life has been here longer than said.

Hmmm... It looks like De'lormosa but a few want Hershk.

To help assist with this I am going to outline a bit.

1. De'lormosa:
Has varied tech due to regular dumping of waste from [REDACTED]. Where you land here will mostly determine the tech level you would have access to. While the tech level varies, so does the weather. It depends on what climate band you land in, which would be determined by your selection. It could be closer to an Antarctic summer than one in Hawaii. The tech is also as varied. You could have Dark Ages to Dark Age of technology depending on what you do.

2. Hershk:
Has straight up dark age of technology golden age of man technology in it. However, while there may be a lot of tech there, the planet is constantly morphing from how deadly the weather is. I did as much research as possible to see how hellish I could make a 40k world while still making it theoretically habitable. However, there is lots of opportunity for tech here to be found as you will need it just to survive on the hell hole.
>>
And the other two, incase things radically shift while I go for a walk and then to the Gym

3. Colomivar:
This planet has not much climate variation. It's going to be either up to 45c in some deserts or down to -1c. The tech is going to be very disparate with the top end probably being at best industrial revolution and average tech bronze age.

4. Togyo Angla;
I am going to make this real simple. Copy Paste earths climate, weather and technology- then assume that theories about alien tech being hidden by governments are true. Then you will have Togyo Angla. So civilized tech with some Mankinds golden age tech potentially up for grabs.

Your pod sails through an irradiated outer cloud past a gas giant and several freighter star fleets. The speed and size of your pod leaves you ignored largely by those nearby. You had towards the fourth planet of this system, De'lormosa. A far different place from your original heading. It appears as a blue marble specked with tiny spots of green, white, tan and red. There is a large hurricane forming that can be spied from your pod. As well as small icy regions, great tropical shoals some with volcanos, small islands, a great chain of islands and one great island to the south.

Your pod approaches faster towards the planet, and cannot escape the gravity.

Lore wise- the Primarch of the eleventh was one of the last discovered. However things are slightly different. There will be enough time for it to matter- but it may not take that long. So theoretically think more middle of the road.

Or if enough are interested- I was going to call for a vote to roll for when the primarch is found.

"If you had told me he had crashed into his planet in the midst of a hurricane I would have said that it would figure"
REDACTED
Record of the Great Crusade
----

When the pod of the XIth primarch came to grace De'lormosa it was in the middle of a Hurricane the likes of which the planet had not seen in over a century. Tales would be told of this encounter. No doubt some would be somewhat fabricated.

Sometimes though the truth is stranger than fiction.

Upon entering the atmosphere the Pod was struck multiple times by the rad enhanced lightning of the planet. The Life keeping Pod designed by the emperor stronger than the lightning storm, traveling at absurd speeds breaking the sound barrier and creating a gapping hole a second eye through the hurricane caused by localized phenomena.

The locals at the time saw it as ominous.

The island chain nearby was being supplied by a friendly trading ship at the time and the first person to see the pod was on the deck manning the wheel.

One could see the green glow of ghost fire across the streaking meteor and the wind suddenly changed directions for the briefest of moments-- or so it was claimed by the captain of the ship, also on deck.

The pod, partially due to design and angle of approach skipped like a rock losing momentum and tumbled towards shore only coming to rest in the sand of an outlier island, the farthest key.

The tribal chief of the nearby Island felt that it was a sign that needed to be investigated and hopped in his dug out canoe with brother to investigate.

The captain of the boat unable to sail closer due to the terrible weather and the size of his ship that would be unable to negotiate the reef, spied it. Seeing what was going on, he and the quartermaster took an excursion dingy to go see what crashed, hoping for potential treasure and not trash from the stars.

To this day, there is still argument about who arrived first. Only the primarch could actually know for sure.

-
> The Chief arrives first with his brother
> The Captain arrives first with his quartermaster
> They arrived at the same time

---
Some say the lightning that touched the pod explains a lot about the Primarch of the XI

Why (Choose 1)

> Because he was a null, his spark taken from him in exchange for survival
> Because electricity never harmed him, and he could channel it through him
> Because of his stormy personality and his ability to strike like lightning incarnate like his father the emperor

---

The storm quieted a bit as the two arrived on the island at the same time, though depending on who you ask you'd here multiple conflicting reports.

When Captain Jero Avidulla arrived he hailed the chief warmly as a friend. They both had done business before, and whenever the captain would go upon the account, he would exclude any raiding from the chiefs island and always offer the chiefs men to join up on the account- as the chiefs men were strong and mighty warriors who were perfect at operating any vessel on the ocean.

Chief Ravi Kahnalaho hugged his friend. Ravi knew the captain always traded at a fair rate, and had always warned Ravi of any sea monsters if his men were willing to go a hunting.

"We saw the thing come down from the boat Ravi, any idea what it might be?" The captain said kicking the pod, accidentally changing the course of the blue planet. Ravi looked inside the thing

"Ya Jero it's a kid! Look!" Ravi said pointing to child. The world of De'lormosa had outsiders on it. While most of the population was born on De'lormosa, some were marooned. Jero's father was one of these and he had the green eyes of his father but the look of the natives. The child, had eyes like the crystal blue of the island something none of the assembled men had seen. The childs skin was like theres.

"This kid, came from out there? Them Outsiders, they gettin rid of babies now? They worse than the sea monsters!" Jero said spitting off to the side.

"This I guess his crib. Looks like something your guys would know how to use Jero."
Ravi said. Jero's eyes narrowed as if he had found treasure, then stopped.

"Nah Ravi. Laws and Code mate. It came with him, so it's his. My ship is no place for a child of that size. If he wants to join us after his name day send me a bird and I will happily take him on though. This child has got some touch of destiny. I can smell it in the wind." Jero said and his quartermaster laugh.

"That's the beached whale over yonder Jero." Quartermaster Johan said

"The slavers may come before you get back around though Jero. We have won our every last defense against them, but what if we don't get so lucky? What would they do with a kid like this and a pod like this? He may actually be better in your hands." Ravi said.

"Ravi don't get down on yourself, I know you lost your daughter to a raid once, but it don't mean it will happen again." The Chiefs brother Kai said.

"I may have a solution." The island had a hermit. A Shaman.

"Old man you almost got yourself gored by my spear." The Quartermaster said.

"The child is important. You both arrived together. So you shall share the child together like a family."

I'm curious to see if that power eventually evolves to something like control of machines/technopathy with enough experience and finesse. That would be interesting. Imagine the looks on people like the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Iron Hands.

So like Misaka from Railgun?

>>4667951
Haven't seen that one, but basically the more experience we get with this power, the more we can do with machines. So starting with simple electricity control, then understanding how machines work from touching them, then finally being able to control them by thought alone. Something like that.

>Chief First

"Old man- who are you?" Chief Ravi asks the old hermit as Captain Jero gives a sideways glance.

"You the big man. You'll figure it out. Been a long time since anyone come to my island. Never seen it get hit by this before." The old man says attempting to pull out the child. "He's a biggun. He gonna be big man someday. I can feel the Mana flowin through him."

"Ya. He is. Looks like he'll be big and strong before you know it. Ravi. Your a good friend. You had a daughter. You always wanted a son. Maybe this is something greater. Give and Take. You raise him first like your tribe does. When name day comes, I take him out to the ocean, teach him it's ways then bring him back. Make you proud, and probably make you really rich." Captain Jero says.

"Why you gift this Jero?" Ravi asks.

"You save my life once Ravi. I was not there to save your daughter, but mayhap I can give you this gift to get a son." Jero says.

"You aint sleepin with my wife Jero. I met her first." Ravi says with a semi serious look which Jero answers back with a stern look. The pair laugh.

"I take this deal old man." Ravi Says.

"I do as well." Jero says.

"Good. Now take this big metal thing an this big lad and get offa my island." The old man says walking off.

"Like the storm he rode in on. Great." Tia says with an eye roll and a chuckle. "He's gonna be a trouble maker just like you Ravi." She calls out as Ravi strides to the edge of the tent, the storm wearing down.

"Don't forget you married this troublemaker!" Ravi says back

"Don't remind me!" She says coming up and putting her arms around his back.

"One of the most absurd thing about the primarchs, was the uniformity in that most of them didn't have a decent upbringing any a few didn't even have parents. Many were used by others. The Eleventh? He was in a loving home, with a loving family and a loving community. But that didn't mean his childhood was any less fierce."
[REDACTED] to remembrancer

How does Kolinaisi spend his time in his early childhood before he performs the many rites and tests he needs to be not only a man, but clear heir to the chief.

So Kolinaisi Grew!

He would spend his days surfing and boating out to help the fishermen and his father, learning the way to be a big man, Helping his community grow through his actions. He was a good and patient fisherman, and he would usually be able to bring in a good haul. But unbeknownst to even him, even a primarch could have trouble catching fish on a bad day. On the shores he would take guidance from his father, and watch how he handled other tribes, and he would often lead from the front. Even when dealing with the occasional pirate.

When he wasn't on the surf or on the water, he could be found diving deep near the island. Wrecks were frequent, so he would occasionally find the jeweled necklace or trinket he would get for his mother or his cousin, who was practically his sister, Arona. These dives would net him treasures and weird items, and the occasional weapons cache he would give to his father, his uncle, or keep for himself and maybe the one time Arona "borrowed" a weapon. These dives and his surfing and boating would make Kolinaisi strong, but lean. It would also keep his humor good, and he would occasionally find the big monster lurking near the shore, he would drag back up for food. With this he would build an interesting necklace made from the teeth of the beasts he slew under water.

At night he would gaze up at the stars with wonder, sometimes going back to the pod he was found in, and learning about the stars he was looking at, as well as the world above. He would be good at stargazing, allowing him to take night voyages out to the other nearby islands, farther than all the boys, and even further than some men. His nightly rambles to look at the sky, and even sometimes surf under them would often, however find him sleeping at odd hours of the day. Though he was known to occasionally be napping, he was very active. And even if napping, he would not be unprepared.

So when the day of his announcement of the rites, the time that is normally supposed to catch a lad by surprise. It didn't. The Haka Troupe, the men of the tribe not including the father and family approached the boy. To challenge him to be a man.

---

You hear them coming from about 500 meters out. This is normally intentional. But they are supposed to be a little bit more quiet when they get closer. You can tell that they are trying to be their sneakiest.

That's part of the goal. Part of the fun. The rites are serious, and the Haka, is important. You cannot move. You cannot shake. Once it is performed you must be dead still. Only then can you respond. Then you either answer the challenge, or rarely, challenge back. Though the challenge back is harder. It means you compete against others and you must win. To challenge back and succeed first go round is to be next in line for chief. Next big man.

I think I can write this half way.
---

You patiently wait, pretending to sleep. Snoring, but not loudly and obnoxiously. You hear them approaching and through a just a small part in your long hair your able to gaze upon them as they approach. The group is large. They look excited. You do understand a bit. You are the chiefs son. So it would be important. Your uncle probably also decided to have some special for you, to make it more fun. They close a bit, they look relaxed about twenty meters. You stop snoring. You smile.

You flip up to your feet causing a few of them to back off scaring Tiny Aata and Slim Rongo. Your Uncle shakes his head as you cross your arms and smile smug and stand calmly. They get into ranks and raise their clubs and axes. Your uncle his favorite saber. The one you got him from the wreck a little while back.

They shout to you to be ready and they say to be strong in voice as a choir of the dread whales in their hunt song.

They come close, bringing their clubs and axes close trying to get you to move, trying to scare you.

You move not. You stay cool and calm as the ocean breeze.

They stamp their feet, telling you the road will be long and painful such is life for a man.

They bring the axes down next to you, you can smell that Slim Rongo ate the fermented pineapple and puff fish for lunch. Again.

You move not. You are as steady as a rock in a storm.

They shout about how men must brave, to face death for it is give and take. Life and death. The clap is like thunder. Their stomps like an earthquake. Their faces trying, begging you to react.

You move not. Your smug smile, your eyes bright, your arms crossed yet unmoved.

They get within inches of your face as they clap one more time near your face, shouting loud and together of what it takes to be a man, what it means to be in the tribe, a warrior and you do not move.

They stop. They step back in file. Everyone is smiling now you wait a beat. They all then shout again and clap, before returning to a relaxed pose. Now is the time of the challenge, if you so choose. And in your heart you chose. You chose a long time ago that this is what you would do.

I can see the Taiaha having the most potential, if only as symbols of authority for say Legion Captains, Chief Apothecary etc.

-----

You have been trained as a fisher, a warrior, a big man. You know there is just a small time you can challenge. Nobody you are aware of in your age range, or you think size range, you are not that old has done this.
--

You clap your hands together as loud and hard as you can. It stings, but the loud clap could be mistaken for an explosion or thunder. You step into a bold, robust stance as you bring your foot to the earth with a mighty stomp that shakes the ground around you. They gather together, arms over shoulders, gathering up as a line.

The men, even your uncle, their eyes grow wide before you even open your mouth.

When you do open your mouth out comes the thunder of your voice

"Let every island know! Let every Island know! " You chant loudly clapping then outstretching your arms showing your hand club and your fishing knife

"Let them come and see! Let them come and see!" You say intentionally dropping your weapons making a show of it . You flex your muscles and show your hard earned strength. You make a fierce and frightening face.

"Bring all the chiefs! Bring all the chiefs!" You clap once again then stomp quickly in a dramatic show

"Let them know I choose to challenge!" You are incredibly loud now, your voice having growing louder and stronger each time like a mighty storm.

"Let them come! Let them see! I rise to this challenge and beyond! My story here has only begun!" you let out like a mighty roar and you stamp your foot a last time you look up directly at them and put your arms together. Your Haka complete. You pretend that you didn't pay attention to the fact a few of the men flinched. You nod. The men of the tribe gather nod completing the ceremony. There is a serious moment. Then it is all smiles once again. The men coming up led by your uncle to give you a pat on the back

"This is my Nephew! He's gonna be the big man someday!" Your uncle says. Your uncle, still a little bit taller than you is considered probably the best fighter on the island.

"Go get your things. Your challenge will be eagerly accepted by the chief. You may want to talk to a few friends first, maybe ask for some advice. Know Your dad is gonna throw his best men at it, which is deserved. He wants a good challenge for you." Your uncle says hugging you but whispering close.

"I wouldn't expect anything less." You say with a nod ending the embrace. He then smiles as the men give some smiles and disperse. The pair of you start to head back to the village

Good evening!

I apologize for the long time between posts. Work is new and exciting for me as life is interesting right now but enough personal.

6 out of 6 for Asking Uncle the rites
4 for the sleeping trick.
--

"Tell me the sleeping trick was at least funny Uncle." You say. Your uncle lets out a mighty laugh.

"I swear Rongo almost fell over. It was good, I haven't seen that kind of cleverness in a while. I myself pretended they were catching me while fishing off the coast . The look on your fathers face when I just turned around and flung the fish was a classic too" he says putting his arm around your shoulder Your uncle, is not too much older than you, and definetly not that much older than you physically. Looking at the "pod" you were given you have been aging faster then most people should. Your Uncle, is tall and powerful, young and a mighty warrior. Still a bit taller than you and still a little stronger than you.

"What happens now that I have challenged? Are the rites different." You ask.

"Your kill has to feed the village and then some. Many people gonna come now. Normally it's just all your family, but you trying to be big man. So you need a big kill or a lot of small kills." He says as the two of you take a detour to look out on the nearby islands as ships are diverting all over.

"Which is gonna be complicated because the Big Boy returned. So unless you can deal with the big boy, which nobody alive can remember the last to hurt em, much less kill one you gonna be stuck with gathering food on the other side of the islands."

"Murder birds, Shoal stoats and Gator" You say and he nods.

"Then there is the fight. You probably fightin me for ten minutes or blood to chest. I Aint gonna go easy on you. Normally it's just five or to knock over, but first blood to chest aint so pretty. Give you a big scar. You can't trust a man who never fight, you can't have a big man without a scar. " He says. You aren't surprised by this, but you are not thrilled either. Your uncle is a better fighter than your father, and probably the best warrior of the surrounding islands.

"Then the walk. You aint just walkin on coals like the other kids. Thats easy. They gonna poke you with the hot spears. No talkin, no screaming no wincing. Gonna make those cool scars your father has" He says and you nod.

"Then you get your tattoos. You succeed you get your Big Man Tattoos. Like your father. Your shoulders gonna have a tattoo of your kill too on one side like normal. Otherside gonna be whatever the shaman see. Hope he aint drunk. Then you get your belts. " Your Uncle says and then as he is about to open his mouth

"No shouting no wincing no laughing." together you both say and he smiles and rubs you on the head.

"Then you get to name yourself. The next time you do it is if you have a kid, when you officially become big man, or kill an enemy warrior or a great beast with your bare fists."
>>
>>4670245
"And if I kill one before the night is over for the meal?" You ask.

"You just trying to collect names like shells?" He laughs.

"It's an honest question!" You say back play punching and he taps back.

"Ya you bring it in, you name yourself twice in a night I guess. Never heard of it happening but sure." He says. You nod.

You make a noise.

"Go to your hut, get your things an hurry up. I may ask a few things, get a bit of wisdom. Don't be dumb. I gotta kick your ass later." He says.

"Ha. You wish." You say as he runs off.

You have till supper time to get enough meat for a feast for not only the village, but guests. It's still morning so you have some time to pick up some tools from your hut, or scout a location for the hunt.

You know the big boy from what others say. He's like a boogey man almost. You are too young to have seen him. He doesn't come around often but when he does, island activity practically stops. Islanders would only use the shoals and the most sturdy boats to travel to another island. No surfing. No swimming. When big boy is around going in the water is almost certain death.

This is what you would know.

Tales of the Eleventh Primarch, as by his brothers
" One time he asked if I wished to go fishing with him. If I would have known what the bait was for the 'fishing excursion' on this planet I would have packed appropriately."
---

You have an idea. You take your knife and make a quick pile. You hop off the nearby shelf and try to spot any predators that would make for a quick kill that could feed a village, ideally a yum shark or some big fish. You have been doing this since you were smaller, helping feed the village when the fishing was rough or when thing were bad and they needed to be something to be happy about.

As you dive down to near the edge of the shelf, very deep, it seems a bit more barren. You only see sword sharks, and they seem a bit more on edge. You swim around the edge and you see that many of the predators are hiding. Including ol' cranky, a slightly larger than normal poison octopus that you have taught to help you hunt. Ol' cranky is normally pretty brave, and he comes out to follow you briefly before retreating. You give him a look. Maybe the other shore side. As you get up to the surface after a little more investigating, you see Ol' Cranky follow you up.

"Oh so not so cowardly now are ya." You say to the octopus that changes colors.

"Fine." You pick up a nearby tree crab and toss it to the beast who quickly and efficiently takes it.

You follow along the beach and you notice no shoals of fish on this half of the island. Nothing. You follow it long enough to your Mom's normal place where she mends the nets and boats.

"Eh Momma." You say coming up as you give her a hug and kiss she smiles.

"You have time to visit you Momma on a day you declare a challenge. You are either the best son a mother can have or the worst." She says.

"Which is it." You say with a nod and a smile.

"I haven't figured it out yet silly. I guess you wondering while all the fish gone. Big Boy scare em off. Last time he was here that's what happen."

"You see him do that?" You ask her, curious about what beast could scare off sharks.

"He almost kill me. Almost Killed Your Auntie too. Had to drag her out of the water." She says looking a little scared, as if she still recalls it.

"What is he?" You ask

"Most people think he a shark. That's because they haven't seen him. They just see what he do. He's like a big Zap Eel. Really big. Longer than most sharks. He got a head like the snake shark though, not like an eel. And his teeth are nasty. Got so many of them." Your Mother says.

"Zap Eel huh? They never bother me. Never saw why there a big deal." You say.

"That's because you special! You are seven years old and you are taller than your momma. You come out of a metal comet during a hurricane! You stay under the water for hours not minutes and you bring in yum shark. We didn't used to call them Yum shark you know" She says hitting you on your forehead.
>>
>>4671197
I love the fact most everyone here speaks in broken gothic.
>>
"Yeah you used to call them bane sharks cause they would take all your food and when they came in you couldn't get rid of them." You say and your mother hits you again. With her sandal.

"Don't be making it out like its something easy! Those sharks are why you don't get to see your aunty because she starved! We always have food now. Fishing aint good? I'll just ask my boy to go get a murder bird and we have meat for a few weeks! You know it's a good thing you actually showed your uncle that hunting trick for them, cause now most the men know how to stalk them. We thinking about raising them now, so that way we have meat and eggs huh." She says and you nod.

"You got a plan for what for you doin for dinner tonight? Three other chiefs comin, other people from the other islands comin. Even Jera is coming." She says.

"Yeah. Ma. I think I have a plan." You say as you now grin.

> Go out the farthest shoal, try to find out the best bait for maybe something bigger than Big Boy as all the predators may have moved out that far.

But find something else for a bait. While we are immune to electric shocks we aren't immune to huge teeth. When he's distracted by the bait attack him with possible extra surprise due to our immunity. Also we can't produce electricity right? We are just immune to it(at least for now).

"Kolinaisi you better not be planning to do something really stupid." Your momma says as you are about to run off.

"No Momma, just something no-ones done." You say giving her a peck on the cheek and the running down to the beach. You run down a few are also heading to the beach, you get a few smiles here and there on your way down.

There is a small group of villagers, including the men who did the haka. You swim out of the shallows and into the deep. Everyone watches.

You wade and float for a few minutes, not really that long then you notice it.

You feel Big Boy before you see him. The electricity. The shock. It does nothing to you but you still sense it.

Then you see him: Big Boy. The longest Eel you have ever seen, with the face of an angry drake shark. It's eyes see you and it comes towards you expecting you to be shocked.

As it comes up to pull you down you twist and with a sudden move you hit him with the spear, causing the lumbering beast to swim to the side, trying to make another move at you. He violently swipes his tail at you, but you are once again unaffected by this. The beast, sensing something is a miss tries to make a rapid escape but you grab him by the tail. This offends the beast and turns around to strike again

Pick two on how to handle the Big Boy

>> Taunt the beast. Cut its tail then swim deeper and try to stab the spear through and drag him to the shoal.

>> Try to brain him by pulling him to you, when you get to the head you strike at his brain killing him instantly

>> Try to cut his head of when he comes in to strike you.

>> See if you can manipulate the electricity going through you from the Big Boy. You sense it, maybe you can redirect it it a different way (Write in how)

>Kolinaisi unites De’lormosa and begins to seek conquering/unifying the rest of the system, and the rest of the planets, stations etc. are very scared and worried about this seemingly immortal unstoppable conqueror
>Because they're in space, they get word of the Imperium so they get in contact to get aid/support in putting dwn this would be Warlord
>The aid sent? A detachment from the 11th Legion
>This leads to Kolinaisi fighting his won sons after some disasterous battles, culminating in a Primarch-Marines Newtype Flash as they realize who the other is
>The Marines and Kolinaisi are horrified by what has occured. The Marines for attacking not only their father but killing many of his people. And Kolinaisi for the same.
>This leads to the detachment joining up with Kolinaisi and renaging on thier deal with the rest of the De’lormosa system and helping him conquer it
>Kolinaisi then etches a great monument by hand of all the Imperial Marines, Men and Women he killed in battle before/after he Imperials help rebuild the system while the Emperor comes to De’lormosa

To me it seems early to begin discussing names for the Legion and it kind of takes for granted that the Emperor will not know that his son is in this planet nor that He will be near here. Can happen but how many Primarchs were in a similar position?
>>
>>4673275
Thanks Have a bit more

>"It is a father's duty to not simply punish his children's wrongdoings, but to teach them to learn from their mistakes. Simply exiling these sons of mine on a penitent crusade or even executing them for their over eagerness is not the correct path! For far too long have they been cast adrift in the ocean of blood with only brief respites and fleeting lights to guide them. Without the guiding hand and love of a father, how else could one expect them to be upstanding men and warriors. No, I will not cast them away! They will be mine to command and to teach, so that one day they can be an example to all humanity to follow!"
>>
>>4673285
It's not the Legion name but rather the detachment of Marines that came to the De’lormosa system. I imagined them as the problem children of the XIth legion and are kept away from the rest as a Terror, Shock Troop etc. Chapter group.
>>
>>4673266
How about instead Kolinaisi begins uniting the system and his enemies pull out archeotech that was kept hidden and use it against him out of desperation, the war swings in their favor and at a critical moment the XI Legion and the Emperor appear? Kind of like what happened with Angron only with a good(?) ending.

>>
>>4673296
Ah. Well it's an interesting idea, I just don't know how likely it is to happen. It is tragic enough to be a Warhammer story however.

>>4673308
Just write what ideas you have. I am not a writer myself but you should exercise your imagination anyway and as long as other people don't mind, try writing what you came up with. Even if it will not be used, it might give ideas to others.
>>
>>4673309
It being Tragic was the intention, in most Primarchs meeting the Imperials it is always the Emperor who meets them with Alpharius the only one I'm unsure about.

Here, Kolinaisi meets his sons first in the worst possible way
>>
>>4673317
So you also tried to make it a unique meeting right? Hmm, in that case we might have our future enemies use some kind of biological weapon against Kolinaisi's armies. While he might be immune, his people's plight will add both a tragedy and a feeling of anxiety to finish the war quickly and find the antidote in the mix.
>>
>>4673334
Unless we go with him to the capital too. Start the try to not get executed and maybe get a pardon act.

Good Morning!
I enjoy the theory craft, but let's get back down to business.

>>No clear consensus other than electrical use

I can fix it.
----

The beast is massive, and underwater it's very agile, and you see that it's teeth pose a very real threat to you. You grab a nearby rock and shove it in his mouth as you try to feel the electrical currents and how to mannipulate them. Seeing as you have only done the party trick before with the zap eel and the strange items that Half Mad Haarii makes. You grab on to Big Boy with your hand and you notice that it seems to hunt and act by feel, less than site, despite it's very large eyes.

Then something dawns on you.

You are moving more efficiently. Your moving faster than you would normally. It feels like the electricity is interacting with the water around you, allowing you to move faster, which allows you to easily keep up the pace with the Big Boy, and the big boy knows this.

In desperation it tries wrap you cutting you with it's thresher tail.

You remember the Rainbow Snap Shrimp on the island that eats zap eels.

It's sudden strike changes the water. It punches as fast as it can.

You have never punched that fast before under water, you only use your spear and quick strikes. Actually you don't think you ever have punched anything as fast as you could before, it's hard thing to do to punch as fast as you can.

You feel the electricity moving around your arm, instinctively.

The water around you almost feels like it boils as the water around you is almost different.

Light forms in the deep around you

You strike the Big Boy so fast there is a loud noise.

It's body falls limp, it was a worthy foe. You smile, despite the foul smell that the body has produced having died.. This food should be enough for about everyone, maybe with something else. Hopefully the foul smell doesn't ruin the flavor. As you pull it up you see predators start to come out of their caves and small game fish become more active.

Then you step out of the water and realize that aside from the small crowd gathered, this beast is heavy! Now you know why he's called Big Boy.

The men who gathered for your haka are starting to cheer. Your father smiles "That's my son!" He calls out.

Slim Rongo approaches, the best in the village as far as cooking is concern to help you with it, as other men do to.

"How you kill it?" Rongo ask.

"My bare fist, in one quick strike." You say and Rongo whistles low

"Eh Big Man! Your son killed Big Boy with his fist! It looks like he get two names today!"

"How does that work?" You ask

"Oh it's really easy, You get a hero name. Like Your dad. Or your Uncle." Rongo says.

"That easy? I just pick a name?"

"Yeah, you just killed Big Boy. You kill yourself a sea monster like that you can call yourself whatever you want. Just don't do something stupid, because nobody calls people by stupid flashy names and they start making up nick names."
>>
>>4673821
--
"Rongo that sounds like personal experience." You say as the two of you finally haul all of Big Boy out of the water in it's entirety.

"Yeah. Everyone say Slim Rongo because it's easier than the name I gave myself. Keep that in mind when you naming yourself before dinner. Speaking of dinner, I am cooking this Big Boy. It looks like it can feed everyone, but I don't know how I am gonna dress it up to taste good, I think I am gonna smoke it and get some garnish for it. Part of the naming is"

"Of course Lulu ʻole Rongo, I gotta get more food. What would go good with Big Boy?" You say using his proper honorific for what he killed, and he smiles and pats you on the back.

"I don't know. Personally I'd get some yum shark."

"You always want yum shark."

"Well it isn't my fault they taste so good, some kid decided to go get one of the mad beasts and smoke it."

"Actually it is your fault because you were the first to eat it." You say and Rongo laughs and your father comes up.

"So you collect two names on your name day. I am so proud." Your father says

"Thank you Da." You say and he gives you a hug as he looks proudly.

"So you get your name for this now if you want. No rush because you got so much to do." Your dad says.

"Rongo here says the Big Boy may not be enough."

"It would have been enough had Jera not send a bird back and tell me a whole crewed ship was comin son." Your dad says holding a note.

"I guess I better go getting more food." You say, but before you run off.

"Getting food is easy for you. Go get your weapon first for your fight when you bring it in, then fight your uncle." Your father says looking over the horizon.

"Something wrong dad?"

"Storm. I can feel it." He says. You nod as he and Rongo start debating on how to cook big boy.
>>
>>4673837

Before you walk off, Rongo gives you the jaw of Big Boy, it's teeth large and sharp, with two massive retractable fangs, that may as well have been big knives.

"I don't think these could be on the necklace." You say and Rongo laughs.

"Naw bro feel the teeth. They got metal to em." Rongo says, and you feel the teeth.

Metal. Strange.

"Yeah that is something new. I wonder why he didn't use these on me." You say.

"Probably because there was a big rock in it's mouth." Rongo says holding on to the rock.

It's about noon, you have time, but you cannot be slow.

You have a lot to do primarch of the eleventh!

Decide on what food to get

> Dive down deep, see if another big monster is lurking, that should feed a whole ship
> See if you can find a really big Murder Bird.
> Get a Yum Shark, it would be enough to round it out.
> Get a really big gator

Decide what to do for a weapon

> Go to your hut, see what you have that may make a good weapon
> Go talk to Half Mad Haarii, he is always making weapons, and he is good at it.
> Swim out to the Shaman, he had something he was waiting to give to the right person
> These teeth would be a good tip for a spear.
> Go see if you can get a sword from a sword shark, you already fought Big Boy, sword shark will be no trouble and they might taste good, so it could be a good part of your name feast.

Internet is bad.
Seems Malal and I have more in common than I thought.

You pull out your dug out canoe, it has been getting a bit smaller these days. You feel like your growing right now, if you are being truthful. You'd swim to the far island but this is faster. The pod has helped you learn a bit about different fishing techniques, and boat tool creation, and how to deal with the predators of the deep. What it hasn't told you is how to build all the wonderous contraptions that it shows or are in the wreckage, or how to get the material for it on a planet that is almost all water. For that you go to either Half Mad Haarii who is mostly good for showing what to do with the wreckage or flotsam, or go to the Shaman.

The Shaman is a weird one. He's a little weirder than Half Mad Haarii you think. At least Half Mad is that way due to the chemicals and things he mess with. The Shaman is old and crazy, but his wisdom is useful many of the times. When he isn't talking about how he is an immortal man who came here on a star boat. You know star boats are possible, the pod says so, and your dad says so, lots of star boats drop things on this planet. You just don't think he is an old immortal from a place so far away you cannot even see it's star. People get old and die. That is the way things work. On the otherhand, how do you know the pod is always honest? Sure you came in it, but just because it came with you doesn’t mean its perfect.

You ponder this as you land on the shore of the island.

The shaman is standing and waiting for you, with a coconut filled with what is probably palm wine or other hooch he makes.

“This is an unexpected surprise I didn’t think you’d be here waiting for me!” You say getting out and hopping on sure

“On your name day I had no doubt you’d visit, though you should come more often!”

“If you had that on hand everytime, I’d come more often.”

“Oh this mixture here is special. It’s not my normal brew.” He says

“Oh what is it?” You ask offering a hand a he shakes his hand waving his finger

“It is special. It’s for the spirit journey.” He says.

“What is it supposed to make you see things?” You ask and he laughs.

“No silly. It is just taste really good and gets you drunk quick. You wouldn’t appreciate it.” He says and you shake your head and give a grin.

“So I take it you here about a weapon to fight your uncle with.” He says

“Ya.” You say and he nods.

“Your weapon you take to fight to become a man doesn’t have to be too good. If you want a weapon to beat your uncle with I got something, but it be too much. When you go sailin with Jera, then you take a look at my stash of weapons.” He says.
>>
>>4674883
“What if I want you to make something like a chiefs spear or some swords or an axe? Maybe something I can also fish with?” You ask and he laughs.

“I see what you getting at. Go to the far island, there are black trees, created by the black lava from the dark one. I want you to get two whole trees, bring em back to me.” He says.

“That is a lot of wood, why you need the black trees?”

“They are special, they very important.”

“Why?”

“This island chain, it has no spirits. The ghosts and dead can rest here easy because of that black volcano, and them black trees. This island, that volcano is very important. If outside planet folks figure out whats there, they wouldn’t be dumpin here. They’d strip this planet bare. No ocean, no life, nothing.”

“So what you need two trees for?”

“I only need one. The other is for you so I can help you make what you need when Jera tries to leave quick tomorrow. That we he has to stay later so he can lose a bet.” The shaman says drinking from the coconut.

“Think I can get that done before getting another sea monster and the rest of my rites to be a man?” You ask.

“Kolinaisi! You are more man than half the men on the island and you are seven years old.”

“Yet I have not seen the oceans like almost half the men and women.” You respond.

“That may be, but I think you could do it. And if it’s such a worry to you, I think I spotted a read meanie nearby.” He says

“They rarely get so close, I have to go out far almost to the neighbor chain to get those. What brought him in?” You ask.

“I think Big Boy scared things out deep, so it the Big Meanie closer.” He says.

“Red one?” You ask.

“Ya.” he says back.

You grin. Those are the best eating and the biggest. You have caught them before, you only need the right size blades. Then you realize, the Big Boys teeth may be the right size for the job.
>>
“What about these? Teeth of the Big Boy. They are metal, would they be good for the fight?” You ask

“I can have some daggers made out of them that would look good by the time you get back with that Big Meanie. Don't hunt a Big Meanie with that though, you'd have to get eaten then cut your way out.”

“What’s its real name? You seem to have a ‘real name’ for every beast I kill, what would it’s name be?” You ask.

“Big Boy is an aberrant strand of Electric Eel that probably judging by the teeth was crosbreed with a Moray and some shark that I haven’t seen before. The gene smiths that I came with, specifically tried to make new breeds of underwater creature. Big Meanie just a Colossal Squid.” The Shaman says. You don't know if he is talking out his ass or what he says is true, But you like the sound of the real names better than the local names.

“I like that word.” You say

“Squid?” He asks

“Colossal.” You respond and toss him the teeth. He tosses you a trident that looks made from metal.

“What’s this for?” You ask

“I was waiting to give it to the right person.” He says

“What it’s made out of?” You ask

“Really good metal. If you used your pod right you know by how light it is.” He says to you. You grin and take your canoe out to near where the Big Meanie, or Colossal Squid, was at.

You begin to sing a little song, as many men in the village oft do when fishing.
"Here Squiddy Squiddy Squiddy."
You chum the water and a first only a few tiny squid come, then a few more bigger ones, followed by sharks. It doesn't take long. The waters by the Shaman are rich, and today seems to be a good day for fishing.

Then you see him.

Big Meanie red. The Colossal Squid. Though this one isn't full grown. You seen a full grown Colossal Squid, and you can't just catch it with a trident.

Yet.

This one, oh it's the perfect size.

Enough for food.

Enough for bait.

Enough for Oil.

And definitely enough for a good work out.

You stir the water drawing it closer, waiting, watching doing your singing.

___

>> Wait for it to be near the surface so it's easier to tow. If it sinks to deep it's going to be a pain to bring back up without sharks getting it.

>> Dive in after, rope it after stabbing it then row like a mad man.

>> Try to lure it closer to shore so it's a quick drag and you can borrow the Shamans big boat, that way you don't have to worry about sharks eatin it as bad.

>> Gore a shark, start pulling it towards your island, and draw the Big Meanie back towards shore, that way it's fresh and all you have to do is put it on the beach so Rongo can handle it.

> Gore a shark and try to row towards your island

You feel the best thing you can do is draw the Big Meanie closer to the island so it won't be eaten by other creatures. They taste good, and once they are dead they can't defend themselves so they get swarmed by everything. Even other Big Meanies.

You do this by getting a thing a Big Meanie will eat: Ankle Shark.

You dislike the Ankle Biters as they try to attack as your friends surf.

And the good part is, when an Ankle Biter dies, it scares off other sharks, but it will attract the big meanie.

So you row closer to the island. The Shaman tosses two daggers made from the teeth in a leather bag into the boat.

"That was fast!" You say and wave

"You bein slow!" He says

"I am not, I am just getting the Colossal Squid closer to my island so it's fresher so you have a nicer meal when you come!" You respond loudly.

"Oh don't do all this on my account young man!" He shouts back and you laugh. You got a few Ankle Biters following your boat and finally you spot a big one, halfway to your island.

You gore it quickly, and try to chum up more meanies.

Just one problem

It worked really good.

The Big Meanie grabs the shark and your boat.

The tentacles are almost sinking your canoe, it's practically swamped. The Big Meanie can't tell the difference between boat and shark because of the blood. This means one thing.

Big Meanie is really hungry.

You naturally, being a good host and a big man, oblige a hungry guest and feed him.

You leap out of the boat and into the water right near the mouth to help give him some food

Namely your trident.

Problem is Big Meanie threshes and thrashes like a small child

So you can't feed him your trident

You hit him between the eyes in the brain instead because of all this motion. You decide he has had to much to eat of the shark and rope him to your boat and take him to a place to rest.

As You row to shore you see ripples in the water that disappear near the shoals.

"That will do ya!" Rongo says.
>>
>>4676845

"Good!" You say, you realizing that you have very limited time. The Black Volcano is a hard row away. The old man needs it for your weapon and whatever else he is cooking up.

You realize that, in theory you could do that last.

If you can beat your uncle in a fight, walk across hot coals and get a bunch of tattoos first.

Oh and get stabbed.

By Hot spears.

By every man in the village.

Without talking.

It is a painful rite to be the big man and you almost wince. There is something important about this, and it needs to be done before Jera gets here. You see your uncle getting ready.

Technically, your fetching the meal is complete. You can fight whenever you want, you just have to call the challenge to your father and his champion must fight you. Which will probably be your uncle. Then you must last ten minutes or get first blood on his chest.

Which means you must defeat him soundly in combat in a quick manner.

The man who has been training you to fight next to your father since you can remember walking. You go over to the leather pouch the Shaman threw in the boat and open it.

These aren't normal daggers.

The Shaman, however he did this, altered them. A lot.

You can see that they are hooked a bit more, and sharper. The handles are exceptional and made from a solid material, with cloth wraps and a hilt. There is even a cloth to tie around your wrists so you don't drop your weapons, though that hasn't happened since you were much smaller.

These weapons are different, but your uncle wouldn't have been familiar with these kind of daggers, it would provide an advantage, which could allow the fight to be fast.

So you can do the rest of the painful rites fast.

Then you look at the trident-

The trident is also a great weapon, and your uncle is taller than you, so a range weapon like a trident would overcome his saber, and have parry advantage and blade catching as well.

Thing is, your not sure if that's why the Shaman gave you the trident.

Also investigating it further, it seems there is more to it. Something is a bit, different to it. The metal, and the staff portion, you feel there is maybe an additional element to it but you can't tell.
>>
>>4676867
You then decide to feel it for electricity, like you do with some of your gadgets. And, there is a current.

It isn't active, but it could be activated. To do what? You don't know.

Is this the kind of weapon you want to use against your uncle?

A weapon that has electrical trickery in a fight that is a test of skill?

Trickery is useful, but it might go against the spirit of the challenge.

As you observe the spear you also observe your father and uncle talking, and you can read the lips.

Your father just assigned your uncle as champion.

Your father said try to make the fight last if he could

He said not to make it easy.

He said give you the best he got.

Well there goes a fast fight.

Unless you use the trident's devilry.

Or catch your uncle by using blades he hasn't seen before.

Your uncle and father now look over, realizing you are about to issue the challenge to fight.

____

You have a few choices

Some baseline humans can get pretty big and strong. However, maybe our really young primarch doesn't want to feel like he is insulting his family by showing how truly strong he is. Maybe part of this fight is going to be him realizing just how strong and fast he is.

I am going to try to tally this up after work today. I may have left my power cord for my laptop at my friends house so things may get quiet for a minute while I try to get it,

>>
You take your two new daggers. You have done so much so quickly. You have come further then anyone older than you on this island for your age. Sharks are heavier than your uncle can lift. You do it daily. Your muscle is large and tone. You are the strongest person you know.

You have never tested how strong you are.
___
ACCESS GRANTED
"The story of the challenge haka of that day, was told to every Marine of the Eleventh. When other Marines heard about it, I asked if it was true. True to his nature he told it as I heard."
-- Primarch REDACTED
____

You decide to test a theory about your speed and strength.

You start by instead of a clap you clang your daggers together three times.
It causes all the village to hear, many cover their ears. Your father even amongst those number, your uncle shocked by the great noise and ringing from the daggers.

"HEAR ME NOW ALL YOU " You roar like thunder, louder than your first Haka, louder than ever before

You clap loudly and stomp your feet you cross your daggers and make a fierce serious face.

"THIS CHALLENGE FIGHT WILL BE SHORT"

You then let out another loud roar and flex feeling all your muscles and the strength in your body, the electricity in the air.

Your Family, is actually scared, as is much of the village. The storm winds can be felt from a distance.

You feel everything on a primal level. It's part of you. The name of you on the Pod. Primarch XI. Such an odd thing. Primarch. The primarch you. You aren't sure what a primarch is but you are one, so you will win this fight like one, or at least in such a way to make Primarchs proud.

"FAST AS MY HAKA" You say and stomp the ground and face your uncle who is a bit rattled. You square up and make your daggers at the ready.

He squares up with you. Now to see how fast and how swift you can move, you shall run as fast as you can go.
____

He had never seen his Nephew let loose like this. He knew he was stronger than any man he had ever seen or heard. But to make thunder from mere metal daggers. The way he stood, the way he flexed his muscles, he was stronger by so much there would be no fair fight. Not in any degree that could possibly matter. The only thing would be to pick up the sword he kindly gave you, and see how badly this would end.

You stand facing your nephew. Who has squared up with you briefly.

Then you are bleeding. It's a cut, one that will need some bandages. You didn't even see your nephew move.

The fight was shorter than the Haka

You laugh as you fall to the ground.

____

You are clear on the other side of the village by the time your uncle has fallen to the ground. You don't think you cut him as bad as some fights as you have seen, but he has fallen to the ground. You assume from shock. Which is how most of the village, including your father looks. You walk over, and pick up your uncle. Who is laughing

"What are you laughing about?"
>>
>>4677999

"First time someone who actually kicks my ass and shows me how much I need to improve, picks me up. Our old man would have just let me bleed out." Your uncle says and your father grunts and nods. The men in the village line up their spears.

"SON! YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE PATH OF THE BIG MAN." Your father says, as loud as he can muster.

"I AM PROUD TO ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE AS BY YOUR RIGHT AS A MAN OF THIS VILLAGE. YOU MUST PROVE YOUR WORTH AS I DID. WALK ACROSS THE COALS AND ACCEPT YOUR MARKS." He shouts.

The men of the village, line up on either side of the coal pit, which isn't too long. As you step on the coals you walk forward, as you should, at an almost casual rate of speed. Which is how you were trained, but it doesn't hurt. Then the men line up to give you the marks of the big man.

The spears are red hot as the stab you. It cauterizes the wound and gives you marks, on the front and back of your chest. When they do penetrate. Mostly you feel that the villagers aren't trying.

They are afraid.

You grab one spear and stab it in yourself, cauterize the wound and politely hand it back. This causes them to actually try.

Then you get to the tent

Incense and chanting fill the air.

"What are your tattoos?"

"One will be the Big Boy." You say.

"The others, since you are Big Man you get the face tattoos, and you get another shoulder tattoo"

He asks starting to go faster, but maintaining the same level of quality that he was earlier, you start to feel some of the pain now, but it is merely an annoyance.

The Tattoos do not take as long as you thought. The Tattooist, learned in his art and almost supernaturally skilled is quick. When he is done, he unveils the mirror, which you found in a wreck and brought up. You have grown since you last looked in this particular mirror. Or actually used a mirror. The water is normally how you see your reflection. You look, fierce. Your tattoos are perfect and he looks proud.

"Kolinaisi Kaiko Whaitri" He says nodding. "To let you know, that ink was done through my special tools from the black trees and the ink from the black stones. It will ward you against the spirits and give you great fortune. I don't do that for just anyone. I did it because, well, it aint everyday you tattoo someone who break a hurricane" He says and you smile and shake your head and you give him a good pat on the shoulder.

"Keli'i you are unrivaled in your art." You say

"Thanks Big Man." He says patting you on the back

"I aint the Big Man yet," You say and he snorts.

"You gonna be the Biggest Man. That shaman and we both see the same thing. You gonna be the Big man of this blue world. Your Father knows, it he is just so humbled by having you as a son he don't want to say it. I think You gonna change things." Keli'i says.

"Thats big words coming from you." You say to him

"I say what I know. I am a tattooist. I speak my mind. It is my job. You think I just hand out Tattoos? No. I illustrate the soul. I bring a man's story to life. Everyone in this tribe, has a unique tattoos, as every man and woman is unique. But yours? You have tattoos and rites that I will never do again. And I am proud. All you have done for this place. We haven't had a person starve since you been here with the sharks and food that you bring in. We have gotten treasures we haven't been able to get without serious trade! And you do it out of the good of your heart. You have the heart and soul of the greatest of chiefs. You have the biggest heart. That's how I know you will be big man. Because you are one that comet brought in a light into this world. Your father tells you this, in his own way, and I know your mother does too. Everyone in this village, is going to celebrate you becoming a man and tonight we all eat like big man because you slayed the Big Boy! You bring us Big Meanie!" Keli'i exclaims.

You think about it. Just by being kind and helpful, doing what you knew was right has improved the quality of the village but you never heard it the way Keli'i has said outside your family. You don't do this for praise though, but it feels good.

"Now go and scream your names aloud!" Keli'i the tatooist says with a smile
___
>>
>>4679708
You step out and shout out in a primal tone

"I AM KOLINAISI KAIKO WHAITIRI! RIDER OF THE COMET! SLAYER OF HURRICANES AND MONSTERS! I AM THE THUNDER AND SEA! TONIGHT I HAVE BY LAWS OF MAN AND THE VILLAGE AM TO BE ACKNOWELDGED BY THIS NAME! I INVITE ALL OF YOU TO COME TO MY FEAST OF MY NAME DAY!" You shout as you have heard many times before.

There is cheering and singing. Your father comes and hugs you.

"My son. This day, is the proudest day. I am overjoyed, and your Tattoos! I am honored by your choice. Jera isn't too far out a canoe scout saw sails far out. I heard you say you got business for the Shaman." Your father says

"Yeah da. It can wait if you need." You say.

"Na. I know what he want. Go. You got a mighty gift I think. The Shaman took a liking to you the day you get here. What he want from you anyways?"

"Two black trees." You say

"Aya! That aint no easy task! Those trees are hard to cut! You'd have better luck just pulling them over or knocking them down! And they don't float. That blackstone from the volcano gets into them. I think that old man has lost it. You want some help for that? I am still technically the Big Man till you take it up and can have a few men help you."

You think about it.

The shaman did not ask you to do this task alone, and it could save time. Plus company on the far islands is always welcome. Shoal Stoats can be a pain to deal with and muderbird eggs may be collected. You could also give gifts to Keli'i for the tattoos for using his black ink and for the Shaman for making your daggers so quick.

"Da, why don't you come?" You ask. And your father looks surprised, in a pleasant way.

"You haven't asked for my help in a long time son. I would be happy to help. Though some of them tools in your hut may help. You go search the hut I go get my big outrider boat. We'll get this done before we see Jeras boat." He says smiling and patting you on the shoulder.

You go quickly to your hut, which you mostly use as storage for various treasures you find.

Among your cache, there are weapons galore, in case the slavers returned. Many guns, though, not all with ammo- some don't need them. Many different bladed weapons that look they come from various cultures. Hammers of various sizes. Then you realize, the trident you could feel the electricity in it. Maybe you could go through some of the weapons that may be good for tree cutting, and testing for that electrical feel.

You also see various other things near your pod that are, also somewhat neatly organized for what you have. You don't find anything immediately that seems to cut down trees, but you found some things that look interesting. So you put them all together that you could take after testing each thing individually for an electrical feel.

Our weapon is the one we use for cutting trees? Also can we produce enough electricity to power them fully? If yes on both questions, I choose this for us:

Don't worry buddy, those are a bit small, and your young, We will see them again.

____

You grab the two axes, as one seems to have an internal permanent power source and the other seems to have a motor that you can probably jump start. So you test them both. The two headed axe comes to life, as does the toothed one.

When you get outside, your dad smiles.

"I didn't know we be fightan pirates." He says as you hand him the axe with the teeth.

"The trees are tough, we need good axes." You say and he smiles

"What about that one weird contraption you saved, it looks like it could cut down a tree." He says walking over to his boat.

"That weird contraption is bulky and shaped oddly and will swamp a canoe. Whoever figures out what it does can keep it." You say off handedly and your dad chuckles.

"So that's you, the Shaman or Jera. Something tells me that would make a mighty fine gift for Jera when he comes back with the goods and crew he brings." He says as you board his boat and you raise the sail.

"You talk so much about him, he's going to be giving me training as a pirate?"

"Nah. Not a pirate. A free man. He's gonna teach you the way of the far seas, the deep ocean. You gonna see the world. Then after that, you gonna be the biggest man there ever was." He says. You want to live up to that. But you don't know how the world operates. Jera will apparently mentor you in that.

"So how was the Big Boy as a fight my son?"

"I got him in one punch between the eyes, I punched him so hard the water went screwy like the spear shrimps do." You say and your dad whistles.

"Wish I saw it. That Big Boy and that Big Meanie gonna feed a whole lot of people tonight. Gonna owe you a lot. Lot of gifts." Your father says and you nod as the pair of you sail to the black island.

"Yeah, it's nice, but those gifts could probably go to the people who need the food the most."

"Exactly. That's part of being the big man. Someone gives you 100 pigs for your blessing on a marriage, you don't need 100 pigs. But you could probably find people who do." He says and you nod.

"Da, I have never seen anyone give us 100 pigs." You point out

"Our islands are too small for pigs, not enough space to wallow. They give us lots of chickens instead." He says

"Oh that's why that one day that man came with the canoes full of chickens." You say

"Aye." He says.

The two of you sail and joke and when you arrive at the black island you see near the shore two perfect trees for the job, but further in, you see black trees that have developed fruit, which may be something the Shaman may have use for. The black sand feels good against your feet, as it always feels good. You don't come to this island often enough.

"So what's the plan son?" Your father asks holding the axe.

>>
"Get the fruits on those after we chop these down?" You ask and your father nods then looks carefully.

"Never seen that tree bare fruit before. We may need to check others. Some of it may be good, some of it may be bad. But all of em will have seeds. We will plant them here where chopped down the old ones ya?" He says

"Ya." You say approaching the other tree. Your father turns on the chain axe and gets to chopping it down, in a very fast matter, as the axe practically eats into it.

You flex your muscles, you feel the electricity as you activate the axe. It's as if the electricity is responding to you, working with you. You feel it pass through you and you direct the electricty, working with it. You feel the strength in your muscles, and your skin on your body. You aim at the base of the tree and take a chop. The mighty tree falls and lands near the boat as your fathers tree falls at the same time.

"Next time I use that axe!" He says patting you on the shoulder.

"Big man council is coming to my party tonight right?" You ask your father and he nods as the pair of you walk towards an almost orchard of fruit trees.

"Ya. You got gifts right?"

"Ya. I have a small cache. Not just Jera." You say and he nots.

"The fruit would be good cherry on top. and seeds too. How it looks, I say we can get at least one fruit for all four big men, ourselves excluded" he says with a laugh and a smile

"and one of each for the shaman, plus whatever seed on the ground." He says You smile and shake a few trees causing the fruit to come crashing down.

As this happens you hear a chirpping. The chirpping and greckling of a shoal stoat.
>>
>>4683319

You walk over as you collect the fruit and you see it. A drift of corpses. Animal carcases, and you realize they are probably left in Big Boys wake.

You see a Murderbird, A Gator, A Shoal Stoat and you see a shark dragging the gator into the water. Then you see whats making the chirping.

A shoal stoat kit. You go over to it.

"One less shoal stoat marauding food reserves."

"Yeah but we don't want to waste. We take the momma and use it for coats in case the cold come or if we gotta go far to the icelands." You say and your father nods.

"And the kit?" Your father says looking at you.

"What of it?" You say

"I have never heard of anyone successfully raising a shoal stoat. They are too wild, too hungry, and they get too big." Your father says

"Da they don't get that big." You say

"They get bigger than some sharks. They get longer than two men and some of them get taller than your mother. "

"And that would make an excellent mount." You point out.

"If you can feed it! I mean I know you are blessed with being able to go fetch a sea monster anytime you want a snack, but that thing will eat. A gang of them is a curse. But. You a big man now. You decide.

I don't think we can keep it since we are about to leave with Jera. Can we take it with us on a ship?
If so, why not.
>>
>>4683338
This is a good question deserving a good answer.

A shoal stoat is a sea otter that can get to be the size of a horse in extremely rare cases but mostly get up to 4 meters long and a meter tall. They have long life spans and Eat a lot of food but they are omnivores but mostly prefer fish and mollusks but will eat gator and shark. They live mostly on the shoals near islands. Their meat is tough and bad tasting but is good for bait. The fur is sleek, waterproof, luxurious and soft, and keeps warm. Their claws are a good for climbing wood boats. They can use tools with their opposable thumbs and are very smart animals. It would be possible to keep one as a pet on a large ship, like Jeras.
>>

> Take the shoal stoat kit as your own

You pick it up, and make some noises, and start petting it. The stoat seems a bit nervous, but it seems to actually like you.

"I'll keep it, I'll raise it." You say and your father rolls his eyes

"I don't doubt it. I just doubt it will be easy." Your father says and you look back and smile

"When is anything easy?" You ask

"When you do something, most of the time, you make it look easy." Your father says and you laugh.

You and your father drag the mother and the murder bird back to his boat along with the numerous fruits and seed pods you have gathered.

"Now son. Here's how we plant the tree." He cuts his hand, and puts the seed pod in his blood and then digs up a spot.

You do the same and put your pod in.

"Now the mana from you mixes with the island. Your spirit will always know here. Part of the island will grow with part of you. This is a good thing. Your mana is strong like fire and lightning. It will make this tree big as volcano!" He says. You smile.

"Good. Many people will be able to rest under it." You say.

It takes a few minutes to wrangle the non floating trees on to your fathers boat without swamping it but it is done correctly. The two of you sail to the shamans island.

"Da"

"Ya"

"You think these gifts gonna give our island a good bit a Moka from them?" You ask

"Your gifts? Ya. Lotta Moka. Good Big Man gifts. But you shouldn't give for the Moka, you should give because it's what is needed. Rising tide, lifts all boats son. You give much the mana of the world gives back. Moka is the nice thing, it's the cherry on top. But only a Big Man with a Rubbish Man heart think that way."

"Our island needs the Moka though." You say as you land the raft on the Shamans island.

"Oh ya. It need that. It also need some good rain, and some luck." He says.
>>
>>4683576

The shaman comes to meet you and your father.

"Ah you two. Thank you for the trees!" He says politely. You then toss some seeds and fruit and he smiles wide

"This is an unexpected boon! For this, I will craft you the finest weapon you have ever seen" He stops. Then thinks deeply.

"You have time for something more. Go back to your hut. Grab me three items. Then come back. I will show you my workshop." He says.

"Where's your workshop old man? This is a tiny isle with a hut and a tree."

"This isle is a workshop! Just you wait!"

_________

You go back to the island, but you must pick three artifacts from your hut to bring back.

>> Write ins only of what has been mentioned

EG the guns, the pod, the gauntlets, weapons, trinkets. But you must list. Take your time. And write in why.

3 items only, this is extremely important.
>>

Should we bring the pod?
If shaman is as old as we think he is, then he might have the technical knowhow to both dismantle the pod without destroying the components, copy its schematics and extract the databanks inside it.

>Among your cache, there are weapons galore, in case the slavers returned. Many guns, though, not all with ammo- some don't need them. Many different bladed weapons that look they come

>You also see various other things near your pod that are, also somewhat neatly organized for what you have. You don't find anything immediately that seems to cut down trees, but you found some things that look interesting. So you put them all together that you could take after testing each thing individually for an electrical feel.

I can inventory them additionally besides what was listed. A brief description for the items you want to know about and do not see .

Because it is a great source of knowledge and metal. Having part of it become part of our chosen weapon brings with it good juju.

>Gloves with claws

>Our little knives

What are those those interesting things you mentioned in the post?
Are all of the guns stubbers or is there some lasers or plasma?
I tought you had already said what they were in a another post, not that you would have to write from scratch, sorry.
Another question, do we need to specify to bring the axe or would it stay with us anyway?
>>
>>4684008
I will elaborate on the guns and other items.

> guns

You have a total of 20 small arms in a chest. 10 are firearms of various caliber and size. 5 are energy and plasma weapons of various types that require ammo flasks or munitions that you do have. 5 remaining are strange weapons that do not require ammo.

If you wish to learn more I can elaborate further on each individually, though that probably won't be untill much later tonight as that's on a file on my computer not on my phone.

> other items
These are gadgets that have various uses. Some of them require power sources some don't or at least you don't think so.

You have 20 "gadgets"

8 of them are unpowered and you have no idea what they do

2 are unpowered but you think they are used for communication

5 are powered by mysterious means and and have functions varying from detection of water and liquid in the ground, one is a sort of information slate on wildlife and fauna, one shows how to repair a peculiar type of space/sea/air boat one detects what kind of power source a powered object needs and the other charges other objects that need power sources

Three are powered by a weird acid substance and create a weird electrical field, each of a different size

One is capable of flight and recording moving images live and carrying small payloads of up to twenty kg

One is powered by wind and is capable of purifying water
>>
>>4683586
>>4684071
Well, having more knowledge I will vote for the pod, the water detector and the water purifier.
My reason being is that since ghe shaman is going to show his workshop, he is probably going to tibker with our things, so having the pod so he can decode it and maybe aid him qould be a good idea.
A water purifier would allow us to take longer trips in sea, and that will be useful when we join our second dad.
The liquid detector is so the shaman can maybe unite both of them so we have a single useful survival gadget.
>>
>>4683586
>The Pod
Because he might figure out something that we didn't know(did we ever took a look at it/used it?)
>The gadget that charges other objects that need power sources
So we can charge our other gadgets. Who knows, we might learn a way to do it ourselves.
>One of the gadgets that are powered by a weird acid substance and create a weird electrical field
I am curious if the weird electrical field can interact with our ability and how.

Sorry for the long time between updates.

You go back to your hut, and on the way their you think about what to take with you back to the hut. The village is very busy, and the food looks like it will be excellent. You grab your surfboard, your pod, the strange device that gives an electrical charge to other devices and your knives. You row quickly back out to the island your father and the old man waiting.

"I see what you have brought. This interests me quite a bit." He says as you bring some of your most treasured objects to him.

"What are you going to do? What do you need them for?" Your father asks.

"Well let me show you!" The old man says and goes to his hut.

His hut is small, has a rudimentary bed and a stand, but it has a large brick forge.

Then he lifts up a small matt. It reveals some sort of door.

"We got to climb a ladder down come on." He says. You and your father shrug at each other. The climb down, is not too long. Then you get to a surface that feels different against your feet. Cold metal. It's something you are not used to. Blue light from hidden sources flickers across as your father and you stand in shock at all the sites. Many different devices, almost all of which you haven't been able to fully identify, line the interior of the "workshop." You recognize some of the designs from some of the "footage" from the pod. The shaman comes back.

"Old man, who are you?" Your father asks and you realize something.

"You aren't from here. You were always honest." You say.

"Correct! " The shaman says.

"What purpose, what moka, what, why are you doing this?" Your father asks.

"Quite simply, my life support is about to run out. I will die in a few years." He says this with a toothy grin, maybe his crazy as well as honest you think.

"Your son here has a chance of carrying on my legacy or at least keeping record of my life. I think he really form where I from! And that's important." He says pacing around and flipping switches and devices as you look at the various things around you.

"You see, I never got to see full pod footage, and there is a lot I don't know! But that pod there, it changes things. I may be able to see my home! See if my home still nice. This is the greatest gift! Family! And your son, if he is from where I think, he is family. My only family. So that makes the village my family." He shouts out

"So I will protect my Family! Give them the tools to learn!" The man says throwing a switch causing something deep below to make a low noise

"However, he must go with Captain Jera. This is his destiny, he must learn the way of the warrior, the way of the sea, he must know this planet." He says.

Your father looks cynically.

You smile and he looks surprised, and cringes a bit.

"You build him a weapon, what you gonna do with a surfboard and some doodads with some knives?" Your father asks.

"Oh you see. Give me a few days you see something amazing."
__
>>
>>4686944

"What about them trees?" You ask. He smiles and takes a bit of it and throws it in a strange fire pit. Multi colored lights focus on it and lay out a grid. He looks at some weird words on a screen and smiles.

"They can grow elsewhere on this planet! This is good! With this wood I will be able to infuse metal with the material. Make stronger things, make weapons, make powerful arms. Make armor." He says and he looks busy.

"I will make you twin weapons, something no chief has seen. I will give you great weapons."

"I don't know, I have some gauntlets out at my hut that have big claws and little tree cuttin bits." You say and the Shaman smiles.

"Bring me a few more things if you want, but not too much, I am going to be busy. But what you give me will be made into something mighty. I see what you need friend and I will make it for you." He says running around as you and your father try to track the mad blur that is the Shaman.

"Helping me is great. But what about my village?" You ask.

"This help protect the village. As long as I live the big scary boats don't come here. Dumpers don't come here. I got something that throws them off course. They can't find here. The only people that can find here have been here" He says and your father looks angry

"WHAT OF THE SLAVERS EH?" He shouts and the old man looks back.

"THEY COME HERE. YOU HAVE ALL THIS MAGIC AND MANA AND YOU CAN'T SAVE MY DAUGHTER? YOU CAN'T SAVE MY BROTHERS WIFE? EH? YOU HAVE ALL THIS AND THEY STILL FIND THIS PLACE!" Your father says about to leave and the shaman stops. He is no longer smiling.

"The slavers were aided. They were helped by someone from here. Even with all I have, if I went, they would find this place, they would have taken this and, while they couldn't get it flying, they would ravage all the other islands. Not just bitter shoals as they call it. If they took this place Ravi, your tribe, your people, the good people would be gone. With the slavers there is a chance they are all still alive, especially one as young as your daughter" He says to your father who a single tear has fallen. Your father looks at you, then the shaman then he pulls something from his pouch and slams it down on one of the metal tables.

"Old man. You had better make this worth it. You owe our people a blood debt. You are worse than rubbish man if you do not. You must redeem yourself. I will meet you outside son. " He says to the old man who looks sorrowful now. Your father climbs up the ladder.

You look at the old man sternly.

"What he says is true. I have failed my family. I will try my best how I can. In my day I was a man of science and learning, and briefly a warrior. I will use everything I can to help you make this world better. I will arm you with tools before you go with Jera. I need to see something first. If you allow I would like to see if I can do something with the Pod I haven't asked before."

"What is that Shaman?"
>>
>>4686967

"We need to extract all the footage from the pod, including the security feed. This thing had a camera. We may be able to see where you from. Who you belong to. If you are starborn or you from where I come from. Then, when we know I will be able to plan accordingly." He says.

"Accordin to wat." You ask

"You think someone just lose a big man like you? They may come for you. But if you too far away, well then, that makes things different." He says and you nod.

"I like this planet though. I don't care about being starborn or whatever. I was raised by the waves, by my father and respect the way." You say.

"That may be. Which is good. You have been taught the way of respect. You raised right. That really good. It mean you the right person to fix this planet. If you fix this planet, you can fix this system. Fix the dumpin." He says.

"Yeah, the bad tide and dread storms would be nice to stop." You say, noting how people from outside this planet make this planet a worse place to live.

"There are many factors, I haven't been able to fully explore this planet. I have been stuck here. However, if you map certain things, with Jeras help, I imagine I can help one last time before I die." He says

"Old man how you help? Tools can only go so far. Weapons so far. You need hands to wield them. All this is great, but you say when you die the protection stops. Can you expect to teach everyone how to do" you motion around to the ship

"How you stop the slavers. How you stop the sirens when they come this way. How you stop big the ships." You ask.

"I won't but your tribe will." He says

"You say that, but it looks like a tall order for even a real big man." You point out

"Ah yes. That's true. But you be seein soon." He says pressing a final button.

"If you allow, If you good, I wanna see the footage, but it's bio locked. You will be the only one to open it. If you do, things will change."

"How long this gonna take?"

You place the pod where the old man directs and you place your hand on what he calls a scanner. A blue white light goes over your hand.

The blank screen changes to one of gold and black.

"Interesting color choice for an operating system." The Old Man says. He goes to an item labeled something that interests you

"Security Camera Footage."

It is a menu with multiple headers and sub headers, it seems to go on for quite some time

"Let's start at the beginning." The old man says and you nod.

You watch a pair of men, one of them so large that he makes all other men around him look small, and several others begin fiddling with the camera.

"Camera Eleven, working!" A voice says in the background

"Good as to be expected. Life signs on my son?" The huge man the size of a small tree says. He looks a lot like you, different eyes, but you got the same hair and face, he older though so his face looks harder.

"Perfect as to be expected my emperor!" The man in the background says.

"I think I have thought of a name for my eleventh son. I'll will go over it with you later." He says as he leaves the view of the camera.

It goes on for long periods of this. Him coming in looking carefully, others around him then occasionally a woman will be by, you imagine that is your "mother" who will whisper things also.

And so it goes, for much of the footage, men in gold led by "your father" him occasionally saying things to you, then other nearby sons, the tenth and the twelfth.

One particular day on the footage, since you have been "fast forwarding" as the old man has said, a strange bald man in terrible armor comes by and looks at your pod. He cries. A huge man crying.

Days later there is commotion. Something starts moving your pod, it seems directed by your "mother". Then the pod flies off, but not before you see the planet where your from.

The old man his eyes wide.

"Terra." He says

"Terra?" You ask

"My old home. Terra. You and I are from the same place! Terra is still inhabited!" He cheers.

"With this we can do much! I will have you weapons and something special within a few days. So much work to do! So much work! Terra, it looks unified! It hasn't been that way before! So much to learn and do!" He is going from device to device.

"What do you need me to do?" You ask

"If you want go your party, go, your da is waiting." He says

"Your not telling me everything, there is something more isn't there?" You ask.

"Well yes, but if you want to chat, it's gonna take a while."

This guy is from before the age of strife.
That is a incredibly old age for a non-perpetual, specially considering the mortality rate during it.
>>
>>4687749
Indeed. He is ancient but there were semi perpetual individuals as well as tech shenanigans in lore that can explain. Though you guys will find out why soon.

Almost forgot about something, this is important to note and add.
So I will add it as it was one of the options!
___

While you are making your decision, the old man seems, younger. More spritely. More mobile. More able. You can feel the electricity sing around you, and you notice that it is almost as if he is partially attuned to the electrical parts of the ship.

You hazard that the old man doesn't venture that often past the island, but he has in fact in the past as you have seen him visit the village once or twice.

As much as ide like to invite him, we dont want our adoptive father getting drunk and getting the shaman in the shit.
Just bring back some of the feast food for the shaman to have.

The shaman has a lot of work to do, don't want to distract him.
Ask if he wants any food or drink though, we can set aside some and bring it to him when we return.

This is a good idea, and maybe talk to him about the ship, it's origins and what not
>>
"I'll bring you back some of that big boy eh?" You say and the Shaman nods his head with a smile.
"I got much footage to study, things to compare. Notes." He says and you walk up to the ladder and climb up quickly out of the hut and you hear something distant.

Your father looks at you sternly.

"What did the shaman show you?" He asks.

"Nothing too new. He showed me much, I learned where I came from." You say and you hear the noise a bit more clear. Singing.

"Jera. I hear them." You say

"Ah they singing. And it's a fun song. That's a good sign." Your father says.

"Whose Jack?" You ask

"Who knows, but it's one of Jeras names." Your dad says as you hop onto his boat.

"What kinda name is Jack?" You ask your dad and he sort of makes a chauff as he spits up something from his canteen.

"It's the name of the pirate he killed. Captains like him will take the name of the fiercest captain they have slain. Jack is also what most people know him as. Our island will always know him as ol' Jero Avidulla or Jerah Green eyes." Your dad says.

"How many names does that man have?" You ask as the pair of you row as the song gets closer and your dad has to think about it.

"I honestly think it's ten names last time I check just from killin pirate captains, plus his Big Man name." Your dad says.

"So he a captain and big man?" You ask.

"Aye. He Do both, he the pirate captain of our islands and our people, so he a big man. Though he became a big man first. He was big man before me, but for different islands, he would always be a visiting. You gonna meet a few people tonight My son. Don't focus only on ol' Jerah Jero Jack or whatever he usin as his main name today." He says.

"Which do he prefer?"

"Jerah is for us. Jero for other villagers, except your uncle." Your father says. You look out and the singing changes, and it sort of resonates, the song about coming home. You see the members of the crew, all of them are wearing various arm bands, all of them are tanned and all of them look happy. And you recognize the most resonant voice of the singing, is Jerah.

The people still sing and wave at you and your father as your boat and their boats arrive at the same time.

"Permission to stow boats here big man?" Jera says

"Aye ol friend" Your father says. You can see other boats, that look to be clearly from the other island people.
>>
>>4688239

The pair lock arms and hug. The pair smile

"Damn the sight, by storm is that the child of the storm?!" Jera says looking at you

"Aye that's my son Kolinaisi Kaiko Whaitri, Slayer of the Big Boy and Big Man that you meeting." Your father says proudly causing Jera to smile

"The Big Boy! Well I am glad I am adding him to my crew! Greatness this one is destined for, oi Johan, this the comet rider right here!" Jera says to a smaller man who looks a bit surprised.

"So how was the contract this time?" Your father says.

"Ravi, I aint gonna yank ya round." Jera said sternly and Johan rolled his eyes nearby as Jera began to laugh.

"We did a good pull. We did a damn good pull. We took down some Slaver ships and freed some slaves. Some native girls, we got you food and rum, some weapons and some good things." Jera says.

"And seriously we may have a lead on the slavers that took your daughter." Johan adds to which Jera looks back sternly.

"You find them, you either find my girl or you make them feel my loss." Your father says.

"You know how these hunts are Ravi." Jera sighs.

"I know, but we both made our pacts. We have a covenant." Your father says and Jera looks back. He looks in a way not even your uncle does.

"I honor our pact. I honor our pact in front of the black one, and in front of the big men. I do not forget it." Jera says and your father squares up with Jera.

"I hope not. I have fulfilled my end of the pact, you must yours." Your father says and Jera almost visibly snarls then sighs low and hands a piece of parchement to your father.

"It's our next contract." He says, and your father looks and his eyes widen.

"That is them." Your father says loudly.

"Aye" Jera says lowly

"They aint too far away." Your father says a bit happier

"Aye." he says in a tone that is a bit faster

"You come back here after this. When the deed is done." Your father says

"Aye" Jera says in a lighter affirmitive tone

"Thank you Jera." Your father says.

"You are welcome. Now I got some matters to attend to before this feast." Jera says as another canoe with many others arrives causing your father to walk over and greet them.
>>
>>4688257
Many of the people seem to be offloading a lot of things from the boats, men and women alike.

You see your uncle looking among the crew as various crew members go to warmly greet the people of your village. Then you begin to notice that various villagers are looking for crew members.

Crew members that are not there.

Your uncle, he looks sadder than normal, as does your cousin.

Your father waves you over.

"My son, this is the council of Big Men, how they all managed to fit on one boat is beyond me." Your father says causing them to laugh.

"Ravi told us much about you Kolinaisi Kaiko Whaitri. You have done a lot, your actions are felt in our villages as well." The oldest says.

"And we feel already that you are able to be big man, and we heard you have gifts for us?" One that has extremely ornate facial tattoos and is incredibly muscular says.

"I do. Do you mind if I go get them for you after the feast, I think it will be better then." You say and they smile. The shoal stoat you have rescued has stopped sleeping in the bag that you have had and has come up to look around.

"Ah a baby shoal stoat. You gonna try to raise that?" The oldest says.

"Aye. I think I got the mana for it." You say and the man laughs.

"I am Chief Kai of Big Island." He says introducing himself with a nod.

"I am Rawiri of the hard shoals. Your actions proceed you young man" The Muscular one says

"I am Makatta, of the floats and you took care of a menace, Big Boy killed my daughter." He says.

" I am Chief Etera of the fire shoals. Your father has never looked happier." He says offering you his hand which you shake firmly.

"Seven big men including you Kaiko Whaitri. This has been long time. Not happen in many years. Seven big men is a weird balance." Chief Etera says.

"Why is that?" You ask

"Well there is only room for seven big men if one of them is the Big Mens Big Man. If we at war." Makatta says.

"So that means for me?" You ask.

"Well we been at war with the slavers for a while. But we gotta have a callah and Jera always out at sea." Chief Kai says and you nod.

"So that will be tonight?" You ask.

"Nuh. It take a few days I think" Chief Kai says.

"We gonna go make the rounds, you go be young. Tonight your night." Chief Kai says

I am noticing a trend of family. This is good.

You go to your uncle and your cousin. They both look-- worried to say the least.

"Uncle what is wrong?" You ask and your cousin looks over to you, and your Uncle then is taken a back in sudden realization.

"You don't know about Kaiali'i. My wifes sister. She was blood mad with revenge. We both couldn't go to avenge my wife. Not with my daughter. I didn't want her to be raised without a father to protect her. I stayed behind, knowing Kaiali'i was a great fighter, an able sailor, and a good friend. She went out the night you came in, with Jera." Your uncle says

"And you don't see her, here." You say.

"That's because the big oaf aint lookin at the right part of the island!" and womanly voice shouts from behind you. Your uncle turns around and the look on his face is much less severe. He looks pleased, as your cousin runs to the woman.

She is tall, muscular and lean, her hair has some reddish highlight from the sun, and much like the rest of the crew she wears multiple arm bands and has many scars. It doesn't hurt her features, it makes her have her own beauty. She smiles as she lifts up your cousin then hugs Your uncle. The embrace lasts for a long awkward moment, at least for you. This important part of your family remained un-named, and rarely talked about. You notice your father only rarely mentions his daughter, but has never said the Name.

"You the comet rider?" She asks as you and you nod

"You lost me a bet!" She says when she comes up and punches you in the gut. Playfully.

"How so did I lose you a bet?" You ask.

"I thought you'd be taller by now." She says causing you legitimate surprise.

"Kaiali'i this is Kolinaisi, he's a big man now." Your uncle says to her and she sighs.

"Yeah, he big, but he aint the big man I care about right now." She says pulling on your uncle and the pair wander towards your uncles hut. Your uncle looks back smiling

"It would be an immense shame to miss your nephews dinner!" You say

"Oh don't worry I won't miss it!" He says and you smile.

The shoal stoat looks up at you from the bag. It is making a noise that you instantly recognize as one of hunger.

You wander over to near a table where other food has been laid out as gift. While your food is the main course, Rongo is not quite done with the Big Boy or the Big Meanie.

You are able to see a small plate of smoked fish and jerked murder bird. You pull some of the Jerked bird down and hand it to your shoal stoat.
>>
>>4689696

As the stoat nibbles at the food, you notice it's really hungry, but the amount of jerky should be able to hold it over for a while. You pull it out of the bag, and begin treating it like a pet. You begin to pet it and feed it the food, and as you do some of the pirates look at you surprised.

"Those things get big." Johan, the quartermaster says from beside you.

"Yeah, that they do." You say and Johan nods

"But the thing is, most people don't realize is that aside from being really intelligent, they are exceptionally loyal to those that feed it." Johan says

"You got some experience raising these things?" You say and Johan gives an odd chuckle.

"Nah man. I seen them used for hunting and people raising em. Nobody I ever knew who had one as a pet was decent. Everyone I knew who had one, raised em as assholes. Scary when they are fucking big. The problem is they live really long time. And they just keep gettin bigger. Then most of the time, the shoal stoat realizes that the owner is being an asshole, but is big enough to eat the owner." He says looking at you in a way that implies he is trying to scare you

"Thing is I don't intend to raise it like an asshole." You say and he looks at you skeptically.

"Oh what's it's name?" He asks.

"Haven't named it yet. Just found it today." You say and Johan gives you a look

"First off, mate, it's a she. Second off, it's really young and looks like it may have been the runt of the litter. It's gonna require a lot of attention." He says before handing it some of his fish

"Finally they prefer fish the most. They can chew it easier. All that, not trying to get at ya. I am trying to make sure that the person who is getting on my boat isn't a damned fool." Johan says and you nod back.

"I thought it's the captains boat?" You say and Johan giggles.

"Ah. Nah. Nah lad. Boat's owned by the crew, and I am the one who is most of the time responsible for fixing that monstrosity. Captain is in charge of battle. Quartermaster is in charge of logistics and in my case, repairs." He says and you nod.

"What about the first mate?" You say and he chuckles again

"Not on every ship. Our ship roles are elected, we didn't think we needed one." He says

"Clearly I have much to learn of piracy." You say and he makes another noise before tossing some fish to the Shoal Stoat

"Technically we aint pirates. We work on behalf of the tribe and one of the floating cities, so we are privateers. If we weren't sponsored, we would be pirates. Also don't say pirate most of the crew don't appreciate the comparison." Johan says and you nod

"What other advice do you have on this little girl?" You say lifting the stoat up, which he starts petting.

"Once it gets big, don't show weakness around em. She'll be able to smell fear from a good ways out and they usually go for it, and they are nasty to clean up if you don't feed them right, so try to stick to the fish." Johan says walking off
>>
>>4689719
You then go visit with your Mother who is nearby.

"Oh look at my Big Man's Tattos! Just like his fathers! Though they look a little more, aggressive." She says and you smile

"Might want to do something flashy with your hair with them tattoos though- and for the love of your momma's momma don't go bald. My sweet son with tattoos like that and your hair you were not meant to be a bald man." She says and you laugh a bit.

"I'll do my best Ma." You say and she hugs you.

"You look so handsome! I love the names you chose, they are so brave. And your gonna be leavin on that boat tomorrow!" She says

"I don't think so I think it's gonna take longer, old man of the isle was saying he had something for Jera so it would take longer, and the Big Man council said it's gonna take longer." You say and she smiles

"Good." She says and she looks at the Shoal Stoat you are carrying

"You trying to raise that?" She asks

"Ya"

"Well if anyone can, it's you." She says and you smile before giving her a peck on the forehead

"Thanks ma. I hope you like the dinner! I got Big Boy because you brought him up!" You tell her and she really smiles.

"Thank you for that." She says in a very pleased voice. She looks very proud of you, but she is crying a bit. And you know its because you are going to be leaving soon.

"It's okay Ma, we will come back a few times I am sure." You say

"Big Men are making a council and there are seven of you. That only means war." She says

"I'll be fine." You say and she nods.

"I know you will be." She says hugging you tightly

"Now go I am sure you have a lot to do tonight left before the feast is called and there isn't much time left! Like what gifts did you get those big men?" She says

Oh. That little task.

If one seems warlike, they will prefer weapons.
If one is more contemplative or has the body of a farmer (different muscles built up) they may prefer the seeds.

Since seeds are a premium on island nations, given if they go extinct then you're screwed. So the fruits with seeds are good. Anyway, we also want to know the etiquette of gifting.

___

You walk around near your father's sandstone table, which you now realize why it is designed the way it is now that there are six men, and a room for a seventh.

You listen and notice a few things,

Chief Kai and Makatta, are the only ones who could actually use the seeds as big island is the only island besides your own set that the trees can grow well and the floats have just enough space for an orchard. Conversely they both could use something to help them fend of pirates a way off, and you have just one gun that fits that description.

Rawiri who is apparently now the second youngest big man, thanks to you, has a bit of a problem with moving things around up and over to places on the tall houses of the hard shoals, the flying carrier device could be good for it, or honestly he may like your gauntlets as they would fit and help him climb.

Chief Etera of fire shoals has a problem with his goat herds (which you think is why he brought some goats to your island) one of which is the fact that keeping the water pure and keeping the goats in line. You think honestly the water purifier could work wonders for him, but you also think he may be bragging about the goat herds size and he could use a new weapon since both his spear and long gun look a bit aged and beat up.

Your dad was on the money with Jera, you think the big device would solve the shop maintaining his boat.

And you have a gift for your father you have been waiting to give for a long time.

You go back to your hut quickly but you still have some decisions to make.

___

Each one has two options, there are mistakes that can be made here, but a primarch is expected to make hard calls.

> write your choice for each Big Man and why.
>>
>>4690625
Kai is oldisthest, so I assume that to mean past his prime. So offer him the seeds to contribute to his community while his body cant. Legacy you may say.
Give the long gun to Makatta by process of elimination.

The flying carrier device is good and would be useful to all individuals that use it, but may be seen as playing favorite. So give them the weapon come climbing tool.

Eterra is the muscular man I think, which means that we should give him the weapons if we wish to appeal to him personally. But if we want to appear generous then give him the water filter with our wishes that we hope it fixes his issue, which means that he cannot publicly demean us for his lie.

Jera and fathers gifts are apparently easily sorted.
>>
>>4690676
To be fair Rawiri is the more muscular one, but honestly even Kai is a pretty buff old man. Etera is muscular but not as much as Rawiri.
>>
>>4690676
This anon's idea sounds good.
>>
>>4690676
All good ideas though I'm concerned that weapons will be seen as gifts to the individual(since only one usually uses them) while gifts like the flying carrier device can be used by the whole community. I don't have any better ideas though so I'm supporting these. Food for thought for the rest of the posters here.
>>
>>4690699
Obviously people who are under threat by pirates will appreciate weapons regardless.
>>
>>4690699
Well, they are going to make a war council, so having weapons can be considered good for the tribe too.
>>
>>4690711
Of course. However aside from the people with pirate problems, the others might prefer gifts that help their community in general rather than war exclusively. I;m not sure, just presenting that possibility.
>>
>>4690699
>>4690729
While you are right, Big men work on a system of giving crap to other people to make shit happen and secure loyalty.
The long range gun for example being used by another would help them all out, even if Makatta isn't the one to use it personally.

I think giving our reasoning as to the gifts we give would help out here. Rawiri being given the lightning claws because he is incredibly strong and it makes sense to give him a gift to help his domestic issue while also granting him a weapon that he may use frequently at once.
>>
> actual debate about the options

I am very pleased with this and I am happy with the participants of this quest.

Okay so in the case of chief Etera, if he is really having a problem with his goats the the water purifier will be a good gift(although that is probably a good gift to anyone not having ready access to clean water) but if he is simply boasting, then he would prefer a weapon won't he?
>>
>>4690676
Im up for supporting this. Go the full hog as it were.
>>
>>4690829
That may be true, in which case it is his boasting that got him his gift, not our fault that we believed him.

But nobody is going to complain. Anyway, his weapons are old which makes new weapons an easy choice.
>>
>>4690936
Except as it says here:
"Each one has two options, there are mistakes that can be made here, but a primarch is expected to make hard calls."
which means that if we make a mistake some people will likely complain or do something worse, although we will see what do do when/if something happens.
>>
>>4690979
Allow me to rephrase. If the man boasts and brags about having loads of goats and then saying he has a problem drinking water due to the amount of goat shit in it, we then offer him something to fix that problem and outright say that we hope this helps alleviate the suffering of his peoples, then if he was to go on to complain about getting a crap gift nobody can reasonably blame us for taking a man at his word. And anyone who does is not being reasonable, but also opening up their own can of worms in that they lie about the most innocuous things so they cannot be trusted with anything if great import.

Establishing ourselves as someone who is generous and made moves to help is only going to end badly for the other party when they start getting uppity.

So basically, it's a system based on honor, reputation and gifts given to people to earn their allegiance? Does that mean that the leader is the one who makes the best gifts along with the best reputation?
>>
>>4691080
For out purposes and what is on the planet yes. With a huge helping of reciprocity and leading by example. I am using as much big man and island culture as possible, but to be quite frank, some of it can't really translate to the planet we are on as much as it could if it wasn't 40k. However I have also included some cargo cult elements and other fun things that are going to pop up. Honestly this planet an Hershk I hade the most fun fleshing out.
>>
>>4691080
Big men have gifts to give to other people, like food and gear. But they arent gifts, they are payments to the people of the island that declares that you can take care of them.
So long as you can keep this up, you are the big man, given authority since you know what you are doing.

As the QM said, you are mostly right but reputation doesnt give you authority, it just makes people follow you because they like you. Nothing too special about that.
>>
>>4691091
And as a minor note, a good quality in a big man is recognising what someone needs and getting it to them. Like a merchant, or to use our Da's words "if someone gives you a hundred goats for a blessing, you dont need a hundred goats. So find someone who does and you will secure your position."

It's a weird mindset between merchant, diplomat, resource management and logistics quartermaster
>>
>>4691088
I'm looking forward to what you have in store for this quest then. Is there a chance in the future, without revealing spoilers and obviously if people vote for it, that we will visit the planets we didn't pick in the beginning of the quest?
>>4691091
So something like a pre-election politician paying to buy the votes of the people but also leading by example.
>>
>>4691099
Yes, except actually honest when they said that they will take good care of you if you throw in your lot with them.
>>
>>4691097
Missed you by a few seconds. I'll wait and see how it works as we move forward then.

>>4691097
Thank you both for your explanations.

Okay, It's looking like we are going for a certain route. That's cool. The next write up is going to be pretty detailed and will take me a while considering the previous options that were taken- which has lead to an interesting event very early on! Neat!
>>
You grab the water purifier, the gauntlets, the long gun that requires no ammo, the seeds and you grab the big hulkin object that you have only tested a few times. Finally behind your chest of treasures, in a hidden compartment the gift you got for your father.

You come walking over to the now apparently almost ready feast where slim rongo has blown the conch, marking it’s time to eat.

At this point, traditionally, if you are correct you give gifts to the Big Men who have paid tribute to your village, which you think is everyone, as you haven’t actually gone through what tribute they have given.

You come up with the gifts.

“Chief Kai. I give you the gift of a lasting legacy, seeds for your island of the black tree that bares fruit.” You say and Chief Kai’s eyes grow wide.

“You give me, the sacred black tree seeds?” He says. You look briefly at your father who nods, letting you know this is a good and honorable gift.
“Ones that bare fruit. Your island can grow them too now.” You say and he smiles and puts them in a small bag

“Rawiri, I give you these Gauntlets. They are great for climbing, chopping down wood, handling enemies, and--” you briefly activate them to show him how they work causing Rawiri to laugh a mighty laugh.

“This is exactly what I need and will help my village! Thank you!” He says excitedly.

“Chief Etera.” You look at him and he looks up to you a little lazily with a sideways look

“You probably need this with all them goats where you are at.” You say putting the water purifier down near him. He looks at it and his features grow hard. He looks at you sternly. He then laughs and hugs you.

“THIS ONE GETS IT!” He says happily . “Yes this is exactly what my village needs! You raise a good one Ravi!” Chief Etera says.

“Makatta, I give you a long rifle that needs no ammo. It is very accurate and destructive. It would be helpful in warding off pirates, beasts, and I think it would suit you and your people well.” You say and he looks at it carefully studying it.

“I haven’t seen tech like this before, I will have to test it out. Maybe hunt one of those murderbirds.” He says and you nod.

“Captain Jera. I have for you this!” You say plopping down the device and Jera gives it a very strange look.

“Does it work?” He asks

“I have tested a few times. It works and functions at being able to cut material or mend material using either fire or plasma.” You say and he picks it up.

“I really do need one of these, they are just so hard to find a functional one. It is very appreciated!” Jera says fiddling with various switches on the device.

“Chief Ravi, Father.” You say and with a bit of a flourish you hand your father a gift.
>>
>>4691455
“When your son is gone, you may need something to help with protection, fishing, and the occasional tree chopping.” You say as you pull out the most special weapon you have yet found.

To call it an axe, would be to call a pigeon a murder bird. A guppy a Shark. The blade is long, and one sided, sharp and sturdy. You have yet to find something it cannot cut. But that is not the only thing it can do, and you fire the axe like a rifle, and a pale green bolt of light comes out hitting the sand near the shore creating glass.

“My son, your gift honors me, I am most appreciative of it- and I will need something to make wood chopping easier with you gone with Jera.” He says, showing the big man face. But you see in his eyes that he is sad, but is overjoyed at the gift.
“As host of this party on my day, it is time to feast!” You shout out and people cheer happily. People come by and offer up gifts, which you respectfully decline the first time then accept after they insist.

You find out that the Goats are for you. Specifically these are the wool, milk and cheese goats, that taste terrible as a meat. This would be good for the village, providing additional food.

That Rawiri brought you an entire barrel of sweet honey wine

That Chief Kai brought many bags of rice and flour.

That Makatta brought you a very strange technological device that, actually functions in identifying what other strange technological devices do.

Captain Jera has brought you books, star charts, maps and many tools useful for privateering, and a portion of his share- which is some gold some gems and a very gaudy looking tiara, that you think you can melt down to a nice necklace for your cousin or mom.

Your father gave you the most simple gift. But one with titanic meaning. He crafted a very simple fishing kit and grappling boarding kit for when you would be on the open sea, that was made with some of the remains of your pod that were previously lost. It’s a touching moment you both share.

The Big Boy, taste quite delicious, and everyone is pleased with it.

The Big Meanie, is one of Rongo’s specialties, and taste just as good.

The Fruit Dessert of black fruits- is interesting. It’s like nothing anyone has tasted before, at least in an actual plant and not some metal ration. The texture is smooth and easy, the flavor is amazing and the Big Men actually are extremely pleased by this.

While the feasting is winding down, you notice something.
>>
>>4691456

The storm that has been brewing over the horizon and never really coming this way, that has been moving too slowly for a natural storm is getting closer. And you realize this makes sense, because the electricity is all wrong. It’s not natural. You can’t describe it, but you feel it. As it approaches, the others don’t realize it, the big men notice it, but there is no wind and rain just gentle approaching thunder.

But it is not natural. Something isn’t right. You feel it and it is as unnatural anything you have ever witnessed.

It grows closer and then you hear it. Singing.

Then your father notices it. And the other chiefs do as well.

Rawiri and you look concerned but then you see the slight look of worry and almost panic behind the facades of the others.

“Sea witches.” Chief Kai says

“Aye.” Your father says.

“What do we do?” You ask and Chief Etera looks at you

“How many of those really good axe guns you got?” He asks.

“Just the one I found, I have many lesser guns most of them work.” You say

“If it aint 100 it aint gonna work.” Chief Kai says

“They want something.” Ravi says

Then you feel it. One of them is walking towards you. You can feel the electricity from them. They are walking on the water towards you and the others cannot see it. But you sense it. It’s like it’s right there on the beach waiting for the right time to make a canny remark.

“Correct.” The voice says, a femminine voice, almost songlike, but something is amiss as it appears in all black robes.

“Witch!” Your father says putting the blaster end of the axe at the back of her neck.

“We come baring one gift, for the Big Man who rode the comet through a hurricane.” The voice says. The big men look off, they are clearly trying to protect you. Hide you from them. You know this will not work. She can hide her presence and you sense the others standing also invisible on the shore. Too many for this to be a clean fight or at least without hurting the innocent.
>>
“I am. Kolinasi Kaiko Whaitiri, Son of Ravi. Protector of these isles and these people. Big man. Hunter of monsters. Slayer of Storms. Surfer of Waves. And I don’t recall inviting you on my island.” You say and then Chief Kai smiles And the witch backs away quickly to the edge of the shore.

“You are correct indeed, as you have not invited us.”

“Nor your friends who are standing there. I may not be able to see them. But they there. All twelve of them.” You say and whatever illusion falls and the twelve other women appear standing on the water off the shore near the witch.

“We abide by the laws of hospitality.” The woman takes down the hood, revealing pale skin, red hair and green eyes. Something you have never seen before. While she is quite beautiful, you feel nothing. And you see as she tries to look in your eyes something happens. Something was supposed to happen, but something stopped it. You feel it in the tattoos on your skin, they briefly tingle and she is taken a bit back. Her green eyes widen.

“If you abide by the laws of hospitality then none of my people family, friends, pets, livestock or goods will be harmed or stolen.”

“I do.” She says.

“Then you alone are invited.” You say and your father looks at you with the look he gave you when he saw you sneaking dessert when you were a child.
“You bring the big man a gift. Then I must also give you one first. You say.” She looks at you.

“That is not how this works.” She then tries something again, yet invisible. The others don’t see it, but you feel it. Nothing. It’s like it washes off you. She seems frustrated then sighs.

“Is that the custom?” She says.

“Yes it is. Here a gift.” You toss an uneaten black fruit. One you set aside for yourself to try later.

She grabs it and as she catches it her eyes once again grow wide in terror.

“You consume these.”

“Ya. They taste good.” You say and her facial expressions contort.

“I accept this powerful gift.” She says.

“You are supposed to eat it.” Rawiri says in a very polite tone

She takes a bite, and then she visibly shakes in her body as her pupils go needlepoint then dilate. She trembles and lets out a moan and a rattle noise

“I didn’t think they were that good.” You say and your father gives a very strange look, as if he would laugh if the situation was not so tense.

The woman regains her composure. She nods and hands a chart. One that Jera instantly recognizes.

“This is the location of my peoples island. My mother would like to meet you and have a further discussion with you in the future.” She says.
>>
“Does the time matter?” You ask.

“It isn’t too pertinent.” She says

“I am going to be going on the accord with Jera soon. How long it take.”

“If we take our proper boat it would take two days at most.” She says

“Son you are a big man, this is your call.” Your father says and Jera nods.

GAUSS WEAPONRY?! THE FUCK?!?!?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

>>4691459
Alright, so the eldari are here, Exodites it seems. Right, so they seemingly don't intend us great harm but they are still duplicious and attempted to control or alter our mind.

So I'd say that this is rather dangerious and we don't want to go without protection, my idea then is.
>Request about 3 days to prepare
>Ask that Jera holds anchor for a week and a bit, maybe 8 days? so that we may deal with this and call on his wisdom when we return. And make sure we can still join his crew and all.
>Inform the witch that she should stop trying to effect us, it didn't work the first two times, it won't work the third or the seveth.
>>
>>4691653
To quote a favored byline at my old job from back in the day on the Gauss weaponry, I can neither confirm nor deny. I said they dump all sorts of things on the planet. It could be old dark age tech and just a pretty cool beam weapon.

As for the Exodite theory is incorrect they are but human psykers that are seeing you at the moment. They are just of a hair color and skin tone that you haven't seen yet.
>>
>>4691761
I saw green eyes and red hair, immediately suspected eldar.

But anyway, it isnt a gauss weapon then, and by that I mean necron. It takes the best heretek in the galaxy a month of tinkering to get one to work
>>
>>4691458
> Tell them you will wait until your affairs are in order
Finish the feast, help the quartermaster figure use the tech so he can start repairing the ship, visit the shaman for our new weapon just in case we need to kill something big and then we go.
>>
>>4691459
I'd say go with them but after the end of the party. Be prepared for a trap, take provisions/come equipped but also keep the rules of hospitality. If they treat you well, bring a gift to them otherwise be wary.
>>4691849
No other people with these features in 40k?

To be honest I also saw them as Eldar. I ask because I'm just curious.

Never thought of it that way, I guess there are different ways to say they are more space Irish as this world is almost exclusively influenced by various island cultures. Ireland is an island culture, though not the ones we are used to.
>>
>>4692004
It's just that most pictures I have seen in 40k with people with those features are always Eldar. I have yet to see a red haired Imperial.
>>
>>4692004
I mean fair enough, but these paddies arent drunk off their tits and immediately tried to use mind magic on us. So I hope you will forgive me.

Anyway the only thing close to space Ireland in 40k is the Tannith first and only. But they are space celts, not Irish
>>

We have to visit the old man and other odds and ends.
Im imagining that they were trying to incite lust, which would explain why we felt nothing, since primarchs are designed to be a-sexual.

"Jera." You say aloud and he turns to you

"How long can you stay anchored here?" Jera and Johan both look at each other and it's as if a wordless conversation passes between them.

"I know the crew will say another festival couldn't do us any harm. That being said the most I can honestly do is a week." He says and Johan whispers something to which Jera looks upset and passes a small bag to Johan

"However custom is a week and a day if it is an extra week. Losing me some money" Jera says causing Johan to let out a loud laugh.

"What you thinking son?" Your father asks. You then boldy walk up to the woman. She is a bit smaller than you maybe a little taller than your mother, not the tallest woman on the island.

"I must get my affairs in order if I am to leave with you. I need three days, many things are in motion before you came here. You came upon me as I was finishing my rites." You say and she nods in understanding.

"Then I shall stay here and wait for three days." She says, not in any mean or cruel way, but dutifully. Your father looks back

"Oh hell no! Chief Kai explain to those here whom have not been blessed with the visit of our guest what their usual tax upon an island is!" Your father says in fury.

"They take the most promising young man, and they leave with him. He never comes back. However, scouts and our Jera has seen where they go."

"They get sold. To slavers or pirates. They're changed." Jera says. This upsets you and you look at the woman and narrow your eyes.

"If you try any of your trickery on me again or anyone else on this island, I will literally throw you off the island to a shark. Hospitality dictates that I protect my kind having invited you. Also it doesn't work." You say and she nods

"I do give my oath that no harm, from myself or mine or anyone for that matter, will come upon yours while I am on this island." She says. You detect no trickery from her voice, and her intention feels calm.

"Then have food, your people are probably starving. You may stay and set up camp on sister island, as nobody is currently out there and it is within sight."

"Mine will. I cannot. I have made promises to family that I am not to lose site of you." She says. You nod.

Your father seems a bit upset, and you know why. His hatred for slavers is exceptionally strong, and you are feeding them.

They eat quietly, talk among themselves and the twelve others go to the island when done eating, which was almost impolitely fast. The one that revealed themselves to you however has not. The night is still young, and you still have quite a bit to do.

DOH! Dropped my trip. Sad!

> Talk to the woman, find out why she is here, and why she was sent for you

Your magic spells or sea witch powers have no effect on me, so please stop trying." You say and she nods thoughtfully.

>Big men
>Jera
>Uncle
>Woman
>Shaman.

Out duty as a host is to ensure our guests, the Big men, are well protected and it doesn't hurt to see their reactions or thoughts.
Next though, deal with Jera and our uncle, both of them should have some information and experiences with the witches which we would do well to remember, maybe use it as justifications for our suspicion.

In this order we take care of the big men, we learn what the witches plan then talk it out with people, finish things here and leave to ask the shaman. Maybe see also if anything happens with the rest of our people before we leave, if they are comfortable with the situation, assuage their fears, see if they need anything etc.

Not seeing much consensus or real consensus. I also am not as active because phone posting is weird.

I will give time for consensus to be formed and more posts.

I can see our Legion tactics/strategy being somewhat close to the Vth (Fast attack by way of Aircraft, Grav-Craft, Transports etc.)

Also, they'd be the only Legion on tabletop with the Amphibious USR across all models

It is always more difficult to reach consensus in cases where we need to choose the order of actions I think. It is easier to choose which action is voted the most but not many people agree on order.

Consensus seems to be Big men first, Shaman last.
definitely talking to Jera, 3 to 2 doing it soon.
definitely talking to Uncle, again mostly soonish
definitely talking to woman, even split of doing it soon or near last.
some support for talking to father but no majority.

You look the woman right in the eyes and you detect no fear. You do however detect other emotions, almost a flood of them. Concern. Anxiety. Family duty.

"If you are going to keep eyes on me, you are going to have to keep up. We will be quite busy." You say and her eyes widen a little and she nods.

You sit at the table meant for the big men, sitting in the seventh seat and nod and everyone nods back in acceptance. The men are silent and then serious in silence for a few seconds. Then laughter from Rawiri. Then Kai, then it is serious.

“These witches are serious Business.” Jera says and you nod.

“However, they brought a whole flock for you. I have only seen two before. This is new.” Chief Kai says. You think about the actions they took earlier. Then you feel them out again, like you did before. Sensing them, reaching out through the electricity in the air. Their heart rates are normal, calm even. Their minds are focused, save the one that talked, who seems to be moving at miles a second.

“We need to find their intentions, they don’t seem afraid. Their magic didn’t work on me, but they seemed to expect that. I do not trust them, as I know nobody here should. I will go to there island, I will memorize how to get there, and if they try anything, I will sail back here, swim if I have to, and we will have a new island to colonize. I will listen to them, they have no power over me. I will find out what happened to the sons of this tribe and if I can I will have them account for any crimes.” You say and the big men look at you with wide eyes.

“YES!” Matakka says loudly. The big men nod and agree looking ready.

“However you are all still my guests and guests of my honored father! How can we make this night better for you? Never have their been so many big men while I have been alive.” You say and your father looks quickly to you, and gives you the slightest nod of approval. He sees the play you made and approves.

“Keep bringing us that famous black island food! The gifts you have given are great to us, speaking for myself at least.” Chief Kai says and the others nod except for Rawiri

“I heard you ride the waves as well, I’d like to see your board, having brought my own.” He says and you smile

“Ol man of the isle is working on it right now. At dawn we can surf, unless you like a night wave like me.” You say and he smiles

“Ya I do.” He says. Then before you get up from the table, after pleasantries and drinks you look over to Jera

“Jera, you mind if I show Johan how to work your gift?” Jera nods then stops mid way and raises a finger
__
>>
>>4695734
“Nah. I do. We wait for that in the morning, Johan is getting happy off his winnings, I aint having him learn like that. He work too hard for tonight. Do that after your done surfing before you leave. I need to know that to, from how it looks that things got some serious mana.” He says then looks at you.

“You ever use that thing.” He asks, and you hold back the impulse to look insulted or give him the death stare.

“Ya Jera, used it a few times. Anything I salvage works, and I test it and understand anything I give to anyone. It’s got a beam of light for cutting, and it uses something similar and another light to build various metals. If you wanted you could maybe make weapons with it, but I’d test the theory first, and you’d need the right material. Though- I think it be just easier to use a forge.” You say and Jera lets out a whistle

“You know a lot of things about technology for someone who lives on black island.” He says and you shrug

“I read. I learn things. I have a good father.” You say and your father smiles. Jera looks down and sighs.

“Ya man. Wish more were as lucky. You show me how that works tomorrow!” He says.

You begin to go visit your uncle, see what he knows and the woman follows you.

You stop.

She stops.

So you turn to face her.

“Are you going to delay my purpose as much as humanly possible?” She asks.

“No. I have prior obligations and matters to attend to associated with being a big man. Which you no doubt eavesdropped on.” You say taking the ‘high tone’ as your father would say. It’s reserved for formal big man discussion or chewing someone out. You smile slightly realizing she probably deserves slightly more treatment. Then you smile bigger.

“No Arona.” You say as your cousin has snuck up behind the witch with a shark tooth blade. The witch, you can actually sense the fear in her heart now. Arona moves around her in the fighting way, keeping the blade near her neck. Demonstrating she could have killed her multiple times.

“If my cuz isn’t brought back safely I am going to feed your heart to a yum shark, then use the yum shark for chum to catch a King Meanie. I am then going to torture the beast after catch it and throw it into the black one so your mana is lost and your magic and soul are gone.” She says causing the witch to blink.

“Cousin she is under hospitality. No death threats.” You say in a friendly chide.

“It isn’t a threat it’s a promise! I kill her soul!” Arona says making a gesture at the witch.
>>
>>4695735
“Is all your island this charming.” The witch asks

“Arona is charming. She talked to you. Everyone else treat you like the black albatross. Avoid.” You say.

“Yet you are talking to me and you don’t even know my name.” She says. You realize that this is a major social slip. Proper form dicates knowing a guests name.

“Your name then, if you would be kind enough to give it.” You say and she looks at you

“Morgiana” she says.

“Morgiana. Now that we know each others names let me ask you if you could allow me to talk to my uncle in private.” You say and she nods.

“No eavesdropping.” You say pointing at her and she raises her hands.

You walk up to your uncles hut. He is waiting outside

“Dear nephew I do not approve in your taste in women.” He says gesturing off to Morgiana. You give a stern look, and then you start laughing.

“Dear uncle, I am worried of your mental capacity if you assume that much.” You say and he laughs as he sits down on a chair passing you a bottle. You drink of it.

“What do you know of these sea witches.” You say.

“They cast magic, they are nasty in a fight. Not nasty as my daughter or island women, but still nasty. They summon lightning and can sway the minds of weak minded men. They live to the north on the most dreary island I have ever heard of and they are fond of cats.” He says as the sleeping shoal stoat that has been well fed pops it’s head up briefly to look around.

“Where you know this from?” You ask

“Experience. I have seen some when I went abroad like you did. You shoot them before they do anything or you do like I do and test to see if they can swim when you board their boat.” He syas

“Can they?” You ask passing the bottle back.

“Some.” He says and you shake your head a little.

“What do you make of this show of theirs.” You ask.

“Your show was better. I half expected you to straight up do a haka and throw them into the water. But no. Quiet. Like the eye of a hurricane. Guess those tattooes protects against their magic.” He says.

“Night is still young uncle. You may see that yet.” You say and he lets out a loud laugh. He pets the baby shoal stoat which goes back in
>>
>>4695737
“You need to name that thing.” He says.

“I’ll think of something.” You say and he nods.

“Go talk to that shaman. Whatever you had cooking over there is probably done.” He says then he lifts his hand for you to stop.

“You should think about maybe seeing his opinion on the sea witches. Also you should probably talk to your dad before seeing him. Maybe see if any big men want to see the shaman.” Your uncle says and you think on the wisdom of it before walking back down to your celebration on the beach and Morigana follows close behind.

“Throw me into the ocean?” She asks.

“It is how we officially revoke hospitality. Toss you off the island if you offend.” You say

“That, is a bit harsh considering the sharks.” She says

“It’s not the sharks you should worry about, it’s the rays at this depth. Or the spike fish. Or the Razor Eels. Maybe some crabs. The Pain blobs are definitely something you should be aware of even if you walk on the water” You say trying to think of other deadly ocean creatures to the uninitiated of these waters as the witch looks at you skeptically. As if she doesn’t want to be here. This is a complex issue. You feel it in her heartbeat and the electrical impulses that scream loudly. Not like the villagers that are calm, but hers scream, same with the other witches.

This is weird to you. Never have you been so able to feel electricity like this. Sure you could always sense it in objects and devices, in the fish and the ground and the sky. You could work with the electricity in the devices you found, in the weapons, slates and things. This electricity was fierce, feral and wild. You get down back to the party and you see the big men engaging in a game. You smile knowing it well. You are about to walk to your small boat to go to the island then you see Slim Rongo

“Rongo, thank you for preparing the meal. It was delicious, and fed the island well. Your cooking does the whole island proud.” You say and he laughs

“It was whipped up quickly based on what you got me. You don’t have to sugar coat it to me friend.” He says and you smile

“No but that food was as good as if it was all sugar coated.” You say and he shakes his head

“Hey you brought in the good food, I just serve it. You did good today. The Sea Witches worry me. You going to that old man out there right?” He asks

“Yeah? What of it.”

“Glow blobs are out. Be careful.”

“I aint worried about King Meanie.” You say and he looks at you sideways

“What?” You ask
“Aint you I worried about it’s that sea witch following you under your protection. It really bad to lose someone that way under hospitality.” He says and you nod and think about it.

You have much to do! Much you can do!

> Go straight to the shaman.
-This option if chosen will cause the others to be done after you get back.

> Join in the game and engage in small talk with others of the village, try to get the witch to try
> Engage the big men, see if they want to visit the shaman
> Test this electrical anomaly from the witch, see if you can understand it better.
> Talk to your father before going, see if he can baby sit the witch
> Bring Rawiri around. No doubt he will want to see whatever happened to your surfboard (Hopefully it’s still useful)

I hope that you guys are enjoying this so far. Sorry the post came in so late last night. This is an adventure we are all on.

Also to explain things Kolinaisi, his electric powers are being sort of developed like an ocean predator because of the path you picked and also a bit of tech empathy and control.

But who knows! It's still the first chapter in a tale, maybe his powers will also develop in other ways as well depending on how he chooses.

Uncle said that the witches can summon lightining. I think the way that they use mind control is through bio-electricity too, that why we can feel her emotions.

I don't know if Morgiana can be convinced to stay. Also, while I understand the reasons why people are hostile to them, I feel we should be diplomatic with them. We don't know the reasons why they do what they do and perhaps there is a way to change their behavior. Maybe they need slaves for some reason and they can;t do otherwise(like feeding off their emotions or something) or, as they seem to be psykers, other people might have been hostile to them from the beginning and their society developed in that way to protect themselves. If they are just bad we deal with it, but if we can change them, being somewhat nice to them will help.

As you walk towards the beach, you feel the anomaly from the witch ebb and flow as she studies things. It is something she controls, or at least it feels that way. You focus hard, and you feel you could understand it, if you got into physical contact with Morigana. So, you do something you have seen every man in the village do. You walk up behind Morigana and you put your hand down on her shoulder.

>Test this Electrical Anomaly.

Now you have to handle something before you move on to other tasks! I didn't think we would get to do this so early!

As your hand comes into contact you synch your electricity with hers, and you see quickly the hairs on the back of her neck stand up and gooseflesh develop. It feels like time slows around you to a pace that is dreamlike.

You try to interact with the electricity and you hear a choir of thoughts images and feelings and you hear Morgiana try to say something, but the electricity is going crazy now in her body.

It feels like forever, but you can tell through your body not even one heart beat has passed.

You then decide, quickly to normalize the electricity, like all the villagers if you can, but it may cause a discharge. Or you can return it to normal. She is about to say something and you can see her eyes. You must react now.

"The night of his feast. They say his tattoos glowed with internal electric light and power. They say his voice was like gentle thunder. His blue eyes glowed like lightning itself possessed him. The big men then knew, who was to be their war chief. Their big man. They just hadn't said it yet."

Stories from REDACTED
++++

You feel this power inside of you, and you know you can go further with it, but people around seem to have caught on. However, you move with the electricity, the energy of the body, as you hold on more, Morgiana, who at first seemed afraid for a split second looks at you.

The racing thoughts no longer. Clarity. The voices, the images, everything is clear, the electricity, hers and yours are one. Or so it feels. The electricity, you are able to control it, commune with it, and you think talk to it. So you go to the voices, her voice and you listen. Then she speaks as she can sense you.

what are you, doing? wait can you hear me? in my mind? How? You are no witch!

Yes. I don't know what to call what I am doing, but your electricity and mana, that I know. To a lesser extent your electricity and mana felt unnatural, I decided to understand it. It is painful. These visions, what has happened

You see her mother. You see her family. You feel unbearable weight and pressure for a being so small. You see generations of knoweldge and tradition passed on to this woman. You see her as a child, as a girl, and as a woman. As she is now. You realize your black tattoos are glowing a blue white light

This, is this really what, you are real? My mother was right? Her prophecies. Her foresight. It seems all so self serving. But what she said was true?

"AHHHH" She lets out a pained scream and you work with it and try to ease it and her pained screams stop as she collapses in your arms. Her electricity is back to how it was. Her mana seems like what it was, but more peaceful. Less choppy. You are not quite sure how you did what you did. You feel you will need a lot more practice at that. The eyes of the island are on you, in awe and wonder. The witches on the beach the others can't see them, but you can feel them. They are kneeling.

> Put her in the hammock.

You gently put her in the hammock. Her mana, her electricity, seems normalized for her. You walk down to the beach where the big men are once again talking as a group. Probably after what you did.

"I am heading over to the Shamans island. Is there anything anyone needs before I go there and come back?" You ask and most of them just look at each other and nod then Chief Kai speaks

"I would like to know what you did over there. As do the rest of us, including your father." Chief Kai says.

"I am not sure. Ever since I can remember I knew electricity well, and I know how to, I guess work with it and understand it. I know what makes the fancy gadgets from the dumpers work. I know how people are feeling before I approach them. I can sense people far of from their heart beat and their electricity or I guess their Mana. All the witches, their mana, their electricity is wild and worrisome. So I tried to fix it." You say and the big men look at you.

"I saw her entire life. As she was a girl to as she was now. She got the shoulders of a big man, that Morgiana, the witches they understand family. I saw her island through her eyes and her people through her eyes. If I go there, they will be unable to hurt me. I also feel that they want me there to talk. To discuss things." You say, and Chief Kai nods

"Kolinaisi. You go do that. You then go out with Jera. You are a big man. We recognize you as big man. But to take upon the big man role that we give you, your going to have to go on the account with Jera. We expect much from you. Tonight has been great celebration even with uninvited guests. When you get back, from Jera's account, we make you Kahuna." Chief Kai says.

Kahuna. Big man of the Big Man. You see your father, he looks surprised, pleased, but still surprised.

"Thank you." You say simply and a few of them smile.

"We think by that time you will also be the biggest of all of us. You grow like a shoal stoat!" Rawiri lets out. You smile and look to your da

"Can you make sure she is watched?" You ask and your father nods.

You boat out to the old man who is waiting outside his hut.

Outside is your surfboard, it looks- interesting.

"I have improved your daggers, they are short swords now. You can channel electricity through them I think." The Shaman says tossing you the fish hook looking daggers with fierce teeth. The metal almost sings with electricity. You notice how light they are and how the current feels in your hand. You smile and so does the shaman.

"Your board. Since you have that one particular charger, I feel that maybe a powered board would be more suited for you. Something that you can surf on no matter what the surf is that day. So I put special plating on the underside. Watch." And the old man puts your board down and it hovers off the ground a bit. He then adjusts his position and surfs out a bit then does a neat trick, then pulls your board back in even on to the shore.

"You can turn off the plating too, and it will function as a regular board. It can go fast, but I haven't really tested it for speed." He says.

"Your chargers, I had a small manufactor of batteries lying around so I adapted it to the charger. You can now make batteries that can be put into the charger, and make them fit almost any device of the standard tech. I could do more but I lost my repair manual for the boat. If I had that, well, If I had that things would still be kind of like this for a while as it takes a long time to repair a star boat Kolinaisi." He says and you remember the Manual.

"Would you like to see more of the pod and what I have discovered?"

I want to try to up the activity on this for decisions, so I think that means maybe doing one good post a day and letting people respond. we all can't be Malal and be super popular and the quest is awesome.

> Go back to the island.

"Hey old man, I forgot your food. Also I have a gift for you." You say and the old man smiles.

"You are always so kind Kolinaisi. Go to the island come back and we will start. Test your board! There are none like it!" He says. You smile

You hope on the board and you decide to ride a few waves with it and see what you can do with it. You always enjoyed the night surf. You can see the stars while you do it. You hit a big wave and you get air. And the board doesn't fall at the normal speed.

You let out a yell of joy. Your practically flying with how long the aerial hang time is. So you decide to push the speed. The electronics and electricity in the board are ancient. Old. But you can sense that this is what they were made to do in this raw form, and you know they can give more, so you open it up and the mana inside the board isn't from whatever the shaman got them from.

This board was meant to fly and surf. You go fast. Faster than you can run. Faster than anything you have ever been on.

You can't help it, you smile really wide and laugh as you master the board quickly. You then try it over land, and it isn't as fast as you go along the beach, but it is still fast, maybe a little faster than a hard sprint, but it is lower. You slow it down on the beach. Nobody saw. which maybe good.

You quickly sneak to the fesitivities and grab some food for the old man. Which causes your shoal stoat to pop up. And yip a little for food. Which you oblige.

When you get back to your hut, you look for the "slate" as you heard it once called. You look through them and find the right one and surf back to the old man, seeing how hard you can push the board.

You ride the waves under the stars and are able to get big air. You land near the shamans island, who looks as happy as you do. You slowly step off the board, and walk up to the old man and hand him the slate.

"The gift." You say

"The food." You then follow up with handing him some of the feast. He smiles then looks at the data slate.

His eyes grow wide as he begins to make strange noises, he then cheers loudly. Probably loud enough they heard him on the main island. He starts leaping spritely around. He looks as if he is about to cry.

"This. This Kolinasi. This is the book. This is what I need to repair this craft. It will take a long time. But I can do it. I can now upgrade her if I want. If I can fix certain systems I may be able to expand my life longer! You go up on that account, and I will have a fully functional ship. Maybe. At least enough to defend the island with from anyone who dare." He says.

"But first! There is some things you must see on this pod. There is much you must learn now that I have unlocked it."

You follow him down to what you know as the "Deck" of the ship.

He pulls up footage, and goes over logs with the tall man.

"He is known as the emperor. He is the one who made you. As far as I can tell the ones also there are primarchs too. Like you." The old man says and you nod as he goes over the video pointing out various locations. You came from an area called the Himalayaza on a planet called Terra. You actually can identify where your planet would be from one star in the night sky.

"However, he has different goals and roles, for each. And from how it looks in various footage. I think each one had different training programs. So I looked into the pods routines, which we have been over before, just cursory learning ones. Well when you unlock it like you did, it opens up other more advance routines as well." he says pointing to a menu.

"What does this mean?" You ask.

"He made you to conquer the stars. He meant for you to be a general, and much more, these programs these are for an advanced skill set. Some of it seems specific." he says and you look at him.

" What does this mean?" You say pointing to some of the things.

"This is all about warfare. Things that can help us against the slavers. There is technology advancements here, guides. Granted, things we already know- but some of this, some of it can be used to help make things easier. I can probably transfer some of the information to data slate. Some of this I can use, to help with some of the things on the island." He says.

"Show me."

Yup it will take a while. However, you are not quite going with Jera yet.

You look at the screen of options. The black and gold 'operating system' has you confused. You see a blank field at the bottom that should be filled but insteda is a bugged character.

"Hey old man. Something aint right with it. Look at the little field at the bottom."

"Eh. This happens." And he smacks it a few times. You can tell that this isn't helping the electronics. It's mana is getting all disrupted the electronics are not happy.

"No No old man." You say and you brush your hand over the machine and manipulate the electricity and by a little extent, the mana, and the glitched character reveals

'First Aid/Medical/Survial'

> tech empathy enhanced

"Let's look at the one you unlocked first! I never really studied medicine except augmentation" The old man says excitedly and you and he look through the data.

Though he doesn't look as fast as you do, and he can't even catch up as you quickly absorb the information. It's as if it was written just for you, in a way that is easiest for you to digest. With the information the pod gathered, it explains what kind of herbal and natural medicine can be developed, what steps it takes to develop further and what treatment options can be done on this planet easiest in addition to first aid and survival scenarios, as the two go hand in hand. While you know quite a bit about survival, especially in the open ocean, it shows you quite a bit that you didn't understand and what an average human could withstand, which was quite shocking, and frustrating. You thought your village was doing well, this survival knowledge was eye opening. Your village would be struggling without you maybe not even last another year. So what you have done for the tribe must be significant considering what you had been helping with fishing and your dives probably allowed your fathers status as a big man to grow. However, you discover that the island is a natural home to many medicinal remedies and could be used to solve many issues, and theoretically be traded later. As you absorb this the old man stops trying and just looks at you. When you finish up you know quite a bit more

"You get all that?" He asks.

"Yeah. Kinda easy. Got it all down." You say and he just looks at you dumbfounded.

"Even the surgical theory?"

"I mean, I'd have to try it but ya." You say and he just let's out a whistle

"I think you been genetically modified in learning quite a bit, I don't think that went over it, but you learning fast." He says.

"I Pick up things quickly I guess?" You say

"That looked like a course for multiple doctorate" He says

"What's that?" You ask

"Very skilled medical man. Very talented." He says and you shrug.

"Let's test your theory again. The science of Navigation."
>>
>>4699283
Medical/Survival Theory Enhanced

The old man steps aside and fiddles with something on one of the nearby devices as you look into the 'Science of Navigation as he called it. The books are long, but with your knowledge of stargazing it's a breeze! It goes by fast and it's actually quite fun.

You look at various ways to navigate on any planet and under almost any condition. You can make compasses, sun stones, specialized land navigation tools and when you got to space navigation you were delighted. You remember you uncle telling you star gazing was for dreamers and occasionally navigation. You smile.

Apparently space travel relies on stellar navigation by use of stellar and solar positions. Though faster than light travel is done through 'the warp.'

You find that it's almost impossible to navigate the 'warp' without a very specific type of individual, a navigator. It requires a third eye and the traits of it seem, well quite honest artificially created. However, with your skills of controlling electricity, and some more medical and technological developments- maybe if you find the right tech-

You could navigate the stars and 'warp' without one. Well YOU could . Or like maybe whomever created you. Or like someone else like you. Another 'Primarch' maybe? It would also require an electrical third eye which sounds weird. Or something to act as it.This theoretical about warp navigation and stellar navigation is however, overshadowed by something you could do.

Ancient Terrans used a method called 'GPS'. You think that if you could work with the old man, he may have a way to start on this- IF you can get some 'satellites' in orbit, or maybe use some that already exist.

"Hey Old Man." You ask and pause.

"Ya." He says

"Does this planet have satellites in orbit around it?" You ask.

"Lad this planet doesn't even have a complete map save that held by the slavers or by the dumpers. And getting something orbit is hard when most of the tech is salvaged or stone age." He says

"Could you though." You ask

"I think I could, if I got this her ship up an running, but that will take a while. But- those slaver captains have a fulton extractor. It has something that goes up really high and maybe, we could cheat something into orbit if we stole a few of those." He says

"Sounds like I know who to swing for when I encounter the slavers." You say and the old man let's out a loud chauffing sound

"LAD! They get out of there so fast you need something fast to get them."

"Like my board?" You ask and he thinks about it

"Maybe. Point is, you just now learned two things and you are thinking about going after slaver captains. That is admirable. But you need to have a plan about it. I can download the at least three lessons to a data slate for you, but You need to talk to Jerah and see if he will let you bring that big ass pod with you, and even if that is a good idea- cause if someone steals it- big problems." He says.

Navigation Theory Enhanced

You think about it.

"You make a good point. Old man, how often do slavers come around. And what do you know of the witches?" You ask.

"The slavers come around every 10 years for their reaping. And it varies from place to place. Nobody is quite sure who they work for but, there technology is very great. The Dumpers are the same tech though, and well." He sort of makes a motion to look around.

"As for the witches- they are a thing called a psyker. They cause a lot of problems. Not many of them on the planet. Just the one island. They were kept in check from getting to big. They could be a potent tool against the slavers if I was gonna be honest. That is if they aint working with em." He says

"What makes you think that?" You ask

"Well I don't get out much. I am kind of old and I am stuck near the island. I am not sure what has changed since I dumped my ship. Last time I check the slavers don't take many of the witches, but- well that may be a different story." He says.

"I got a lot of time old man. I am willing to listen." You say

"Well there is a lot to say." He says.

___

"Tell me about the slavers old man, why don't they take the witches and what not." You say.

"Capturing psykers is hard. Especially when they are very good at offensive strategies. However, the problem is- well. This long time Kolinaisi. This really weird to explain." He says sitting down, pulling out the pipe that you have rarely seen used by him, usually only in cases of him teaching you something really complex or something he doesn't really want to talk about.

"Old man, it's now or maybe never." You say and he nods and draws a breath from the pipe and out comes a nice aroma that you liked.

"In the beginning this planet was colonized by a few different groups. One were scientists like myself looking for a way to experiment with aqua fauna and structures for living on aquatic worlds. This is a pretty big world, with mostly ocean so it was easy for us to set up shop, and do experiments on a planet with very little in the way of native fauna or flora." He says looking like he is reminiscing as he puffs out a smoke ring.

"Then came the refugees. Many of them were from different planets, a small portion psykers most of those were women. There were enough refugees however that they could set up on different islands and portions to create the tribes and different groups that you know today, including the witches. They all mostly lived separately and at peace with occasional tribal challenging. However, the planet was now suitable for life, and known. So that's when things began to change." He says sighing getting up and looking at a data slate.

"First came House Karakon and their knights. They wanted to set up shop here, then they realized that this was the worst place for something like a knight house to establish itself at so, half of them picked up and left, leaving behind a wing of the house, as it was so big, as a punishment for family members. Or so us scientists found out when they tried to impose upon us.” He says

“We worked with them, provided them people to work on their knights, and they left us alone. However we kept up some active surveillance on them. And they acted as a sort of government body and protected some of the major big islands. Not the ones near here, the farthest islands, you call them the storm islands?” The man asks

“Storm Shores. Nobody Alive knows the best way to get to them with the weather. What does this have to do with the slavers, and why they don’t attack the witches?” You respond.
>>
>>4700829
“Well the witches and the knights didn’t get along, because of superstitions and generally psykers cause problems. However, the knights, while powerful and good at eliminating various land based threats, and the occasional science experiment, that was it. The knights were not designed for naval warfare, so that house broke into half also, one half developing sea vessels and the other half maintaining the knights.” The old man says tamping his pipe a little bit

“Anyways, who you call the slavers came shortly after. Which was a problem because the knights were actually good at combating them, but they didn’t have as much as they used to. So the knights and the witches of the island teamed up to scare away the slavers from them for just a little while though.” He says.

“The slavers just show up? That doesn’t make sense at all.”

“No it doesn’t. What most scientists didn’t know is, the refugees were intentionally lured in, and the knights and the psykers., they were intentionally hinted to come here. A small group of scientists that not all of us knew about, had made a pact. You see, we were protected from the xenos that lived nearby but we didn’t know it, and we didn’t know how are why. We had made a deal with the Regoran Cartel” He says his voice changing, as if he was recalling it over again.

“The head scientist made a pact with the Regoran Cartel. At first it was simple, to study certain things. Do certain things. Horrors, we, created. Things we did that I couldn’t believe. I took part in things I haven’t dreamed of, and I wasn’t aware of it. We were progressing science for men, so it wasn’t too bad though. But it got more complex. We made some of the abominations in the deep. The Mermaids? We made them. The Cartel, they are wicked. Their tithe. That’s why you know them all as slavers. Part of it, is that this planet- the only reason we are protected from certain xenos is because of a pact that was made with the slavers and their mini empire. I thought this was acceptable. I thought it was preferable to having to deal with the xenos.” He says, like he is justifying his past. Then you realize, something must have went worse.
>>
>>4700832
“Then one day, during my experiments, I had found out the full information of what were working with. The Cartel works with xenos. Foul ones. Wicked ones. I was important enough at my studies that they wanted me to show one of the xenos that they were working with what I was doing. I knew we had gone to far. Not because of the fact it was a xenos- but because of how it acted. It’s nature. What it was studying. So that night. I took my ship and I fled. I did this. I have been here for so long, I almost forgotten my actions. You ask about the Slavers. They are the Regoran Cartel. They don’t go after the witches because they are afraid of them and the knights, but also afraid that their client might not like them. So their tithe is lesser. But, having seen footage. Having done a little research. The psykers never pay a tithe because their men almost always without fail volunteer.” He says his eyes distant.

“I don’t know if it’s mind control, or if it’s love. But it’s easy to see the hate.” He says. You look at him, awed by how much he has shared.

“What about the dumpers then? They the cartel too?” You ask.

“Yeah, they came after. I am sure my old boss made the same deal. Either an allied group or the same. I don’t have as much information on them, but they are the same people. I do know this if they start dumping even more, that is a bad sign. The Cartel stretches very far out. With the Warp Storms cooling off that means more may start dumping here more. That then means they may try to make more tithes soon. May start coming quicker.” He says and then pauses, looking at the data slate manual you gave him.

“With this data slate you gave me and the information I have in the pod, we could theoretically make some defense turrets for the island.” he says and you look back with the general information he is just getting.

“However, it would require cooperation from the big men. Lot’s of salvaging. Lot’s of trash divin and wrangling. While you are gone with Jera.” He says.

“What do you plan to do about it Old Man?” You ask and he smiles.

“Not what I plan, but what you plan. We are going to be breaking dawn soon. But Jera knows me. I’d say send him over here while you do what you need to do. Maybe your father, he still may be mad at me.” He says and you nod

“Now what information do you want on the data slate before you go to make your decision?”

Technology and fabrication go hand in hand. You need to know what your working with and what you need from it. Get those two parts and you can start building what you need.

Get good enough defenses up and the slavers wont bother with the island, at least for long enough for us to do something about them. We also need tech for population growth, islander nations are too sparsely populated to wage much of a war with unless we get to creating some serious tech.

___

"Old man put the Technology, Fabrication and Warfare ones on to the Data slate." You say and he nods loading it up and handing it over to you. The process wasn't too bad.

"The pod?" He asks

"I will figure that out before I go with Jera" You say and he nods taking another puff from his pipe.

"You be sure to visit once you get back from those witches. Maybe have the Big men visit me eh? If the slavers come back earlier, we are in this together. The whole island chain will need support." He says and you nod.

You climb out of the pod, hop on your board and surf under the stars. You see a shooting star pass over head, and you think of the promise of the stars that is meant for you. You think about the man who made the pod. You wonder what he did at your age. Was he like your father? Did he have a wife? Children? Would he be a good parent? How does he lead his people? What would terra be like? Would it have oceans vast like here?

You come to shore and there is Rawiri there to meet you.

"Well I have never seen a board like that. It hovers over the waves like magic or some trick." He says.

"It's the technology on it. If you want to test it out you can." You say and Rawiri smiles and hops on. He cuts the waves incredibly well, and his experience in the surf clearly shows. He then does some tricks you wish you tried.

"This thing is amazing! Truly this is a marvelous gift from that old man over there! How does he do it?" He asks

"It's something you and the other big men will have to ask him. Actually you all need to visit him. He has things to show you." You say and Rawiri looks over and then smiles.

"You think he can make me a board like that?" He asks

"If you got the things for it, I do not see why not." You say. Thing is you are not sure if Rawiri could get the parts for it. You aren't even really sure if the old man got the parts for it or how he made it. Maybe the technology lesson could help you with that.

"You think we should go get the old men and do this now? It is a bit late. Granted Big Men meetings go late always but some people need a nap." He says motioning over to Chief Kai who looks like he could use a nap.

"Let them rest. They are tired, they need it after a busy day. We can take them to the Shaman in the morning." You say nodding your chin then smiling

"Gives us time to surf eh?" He says and you nod.

He grabs his board. You turn off the power for your board and you both surf the natural way. Rawiri, is an excellent surfer. Much better than you, which was probably gained from surfing since before you came on the comet. But that doesn't mean you aren't a quick learner. Rawiri's surfing is enhanced by near perfect balance, and a more subtle fellowship with the board. It's like they are one at times.

"I Heard your duel with your uncle was as fast as a haka!' He says paddling near by you.

"Sadly it was faster. I wanted to be clever and make it last that long but my strike was too quick. I miscalculated." You say and he laughs.

"No that's good, underpromise over deliver!" He says.

"I want this world to be a better place Rawiri. How can underpromise and over deliver on that?" You ask and Rawiri laughs

"I don't know, you the stargazer you tell me." He says Little does he know that is your exact intention. The old man has a star boat. You can fix them slavers once and for all.

"You a really good surfer." You say as he is about to go out.

"Eh. These shoals are some of the best for surfing, though the really good ones are in more dangerous places. Storm Shoals has good surfing. The Steam Islands have some insane waves. Here though? Besides open ocean and a few other places has some of the best waves for surfing." He says.

"You been to Storm Shoals? And the Steam Islands?" You ask

"Ya. I went up on the account as a kid. Like really young. All I had time to do was help on the ship or surf in crazy places." He says and you look a bit surprised.

"What's it like?" You ask

"The account? It's a bit hectic. It's big man work for sure. You gotta hunt pirates trying to take people to their islands to give to the slavers. You gotta hunt the Far islanders trying to raid, sometimes you actually have to deal with slaver search parties. Then occasionally you gotta take out a transport ship that is hauling goods for them posh far islanders." He says

"Lots of killing?" You ask

"Some. Mostly intimidation tactics. When the killing happens though it's quick and it aint fun. Jera Jero though- he's the kinda pirate captain that likes to hold courts." Rawiri says looking up and making a strange noise

"What's holding a court?" You ask

"Basically, sometimes the crews don't work in good conditions. So a smart pirate captain be having a court of the officers. A lot of these people from the far islands abuse their crew, and the crew getting to judge their captains, often find them wanting." Rawiri says making a grimace
>>
>>4702976
You note his look. Apparently going up on the Account is as dangerous as you thought, but you should handle it.

"What about your village huh?" You ask

"Oh mine? Mine has all the prettiest girls, sweet water, good fishing and nice people. The weathers crap and the surfing is terrible though." He says smiling then laughing. You laugh a little too.

"We got a volcano that spews black stuff and interesting fruit. Everyone here knows how to fight. The fishing is good now I guess now that we do the better techniques." You say and he nods

"Yeah I heard about that. You being able to find a way to fish for the Yum Shark. That is good thinking. You gonna make an excellent big man. You need to work out more though." He says laughing.

"I am only seven years old and I am pretty tall and strong." You say and he laughs still

"So. We are islanders. You will still need to be strong and tall even if you are ten feet tall and all muscle, someone still gonna ask you if you good at surfing." He says and just shake your head and smile

The two of you talk and surf under the stars for a while Rawiri is fun to talk to. He always has a good joke ready and is exceptionally wise for his age.

"Well I need sleep. Tomorrow you show us what that old man has cookin eh?" He says and you nod.

You paddle to shore as the dawn breaks. You aren't really tired yet. You could take a nap or maybe do a quick dive and catch a big breakfast and have Rongo prepare it, as apparently he is up early.

5-1 Nap

___

You decide to take a nap. You worked hard, had a long day. So you hop into the hammock nearby and shut your eyes.

You don't dream often.

Tonight is no different.

When you wake up Morgiana is sitting next to you. You decide not to do the normal thing you do to gather intelligence and pretend to be asleep but instead decide to opt for the more obvious.

You acrobatically exit the hammock as you do to be silly to your family or friends. Swinging out into a roll and landing on both feet.

Morgiana is less then amused. The shoal stoat, however, in your bag seems actually pretty impressed and makes noises that sound like it's playing. It hops out and begins bounding playfully. You play with it and give it some fresh fish from a nearby roasting stick that Rongo offers up to you. You walk back to Morgiana who hasn't moved much.

"Sleep well?" You ask

"I was not supposed to sleep until I brought you back to my mother." She says.

"Oh. I didn't mean to deter you from your mission." You say

"I failed. But as long as you come back with me it will not matter. Did you- was what you did real?" She asks

You shrug. "I guess. I interreacted with your Mana and electricity." You say.

"You guess. You guess you interacted with my Mana and electricity. Like it was some sort of trivial challenge." She says

"Well I don't think so, I was just learning to do it, by what I think I could do." You say and she just makes a strange facial expression, scrunching her face then raising her eyebrows making exasperated gasping noises.

"Fine!" She says in a strange tone.

Chief Kai comes up to with Rawiri and your father.

"We heard you wanted us to meet with the Shaman? All of us?" Chief Kai asks.

"Yes. It's important." You say

So the big men assemble and take different boats out to the Shaman's isle. When you get there the Shaman is sitting tending to a fire and the left over food, causing your Shoal Stoat to bound over to the old man, who pets it like how you would a goat. He stands up and hands you the pup.

"I have brought you guests. You know why." You say and the Shaman nods.

"Come friends, let me show you my secret." The old man says.
>>
>>4703984

When the big men reach the bottom. They all argue. Your old man gets them quiet.

"Kolinasi. My son. Why are we here. What has changed." Your father asks.

"Tell them." You say to the old man and he nods.

He pulls up the data slate you gave him.

"I can repair my ship. Using the information from the pod here. We can make a valid defense against the slavers. It may take some time, but I can get this ship a running. Once I get the fabba working, I can make some weapons, some defenses. But not much. Maybe enough to arm each village and each tribe." He says

"I have learned a lot from the pod there. I have learned medicine and navigation already. I feel that, with me going on the account, we can do much more" You say

"What do you mean?" Chief Kai asks.

And so Kolinaisi spoke. The Stargazing Surfer. The Dreamer who rarely dreamed. And what was said next went into history.

“The people of De’lormosa were united under a common cause. That came from Kolinasi. He knew what had to be done for his family. For his people. For his planet. But he was, the lessons he learned from his father helped in his decision.”

“De’lormosa” You say quietly and they look at you. “I will unite the families. We are one tribe, one man, with many different functions, one body with hands and feet and fingers and arms. Together none may stop us Not the slavers, not the pirates, not the dumpers. We will take back this planet for those who own it!” You say and the men the nod like it’s a Haka.

“We are STRONG. With these tools and tactics, with these technologies and weapons we will break them chains that the slavers try to wrap around us! We will take those same chains and use it to banish them to the bottom of the great deeps! We will end the slavers reign! FOR MY FATHER. FOR MY SISTER. FOR THOSE I MAY NEVER KNOWN AND THOSE WE LOST. SO THEY MAY NEVER BE LOST AGAIN. You say and they call out with a yes and cheer.

“We do not need to merely survive on our home planet! We can thrive! We have the biggest gift, this technology, this pod, this ship. Even the Dumpers are giving us gifts but they don’t know it. We will turn their trash into our treasure and make this planet our own! A cleaner better place! One where we can cure the sicknesses and fix the problems. We have everything we need to all live great!” You say and your father.

Your father looks proud. He looks inspired. The rest of the Big Men, Matakka and Chief Eterea especially seem to be excited.

“Old Man!” You shout at the shaman and he looks and you and throws up an awkward salute.

“Distribute as much knoweldge from my pod as you can to the big men. All of us will have the same technology from now on. If the slavers pick a fight with one of us, they will be pickin a fight with us all at the same strength.” You say

“This is a mighty gift Kolinasi! What gift do you expect back?” Chief Kai asks and you pause
>>
>>4704782
“In this hour, I don’t need no Moka. I don’t need gift back. The gift I want back is us united. The gift back I want is to see our tribe not shake to some outlanders who think they own us! The gift back I want is us to be ready to fight!” You say. You can feel the electricity in the room it’s almost as if it’s empowering you like the coffee in the morning. Their mana is giving you strength. And you know it. The men they smile.

“Old man, if Jera and I only go out to the account for this sort of thing, and maybe capture multiple big ships, how much quicker would be to repair this star boat and get it to where it needs to be to make a foundry, or whatever you wanted to call it.” You say

“Normally it would take many years decades even with our level of technology, but if you grab some of them big ships with the right stuff the dumpers leave, and the islands work together on salvaging we could get it done in a fraction of the time.” He says, but you note something, he looks worried.

“Old man what’s wrong.” You say

“It might kill me.” He says.

“Let’s make sure it doesn’t old man without you none of this would be possible. We would lose your wisdom and I would lose a friend who taught me how to deep fish. That’s no good. You need to live to see your work done. Be sure not to take it too far. We should be able to do this without you killing yourself.” You say and he nods he seems happy that you counted him as friend.

“Old man, also explain your story to them. It will help for context.” You say and walk towards the hatch.

“My son. What are you doing?” Your father asks.

“I have to go talk to the witches. I will share with them my vision.” You say and your father nods.

“Jera are you good with this plan?” You ask and Jera smiles.

“Oh the crew and I have been dreaming about this for a long time.” He says

You climb up the hatch and out on the island. You take your surfboard and surf to shore full of purpose.

The witches seem effected by your Mana, or something, their electricity is odd again.

“Are you ready to go?” Morgiana asks politely.

>> Yes.

> Write in
>>
>>4704784
>Yes

We have our knives and our board, they will have food. Lets go.
>>
>>4704784
>> Yes.
Let's add the psykers to this alliance.
They fought together with others against the slavers once, and it's time to do it again. But now to end them for good.
>>
>>4704818
Actually, do we have anything in our stash that could be a good gift for them when we go to their isle?
If I'm understanding this big man thing, you are supposed to give a useful or needed gift when you are a guest at someone's house, right?
>>
>>4704831
Receprication is considered. But the witches are not of our kind, I dont think. They dont follow nor do they expect our ways, if they did they would understand what to do when they appeared first.

Then again, there is always the principle of doing our version of good manners.

I hope everyone is enjoying the quest so far! I am excited for chapter two coming up soon.

The witches are not of your kind, however big man culture is of yours. So naturally you would bring a gift. Granted if you forgot you could say "The gift of an alliance" if you wanted to be cheesy.

On you you have

Your surfboard
Your 'knives'
Your tablet with information
Your handy dandy shoal stoat
Your Jerky Ration
Your handline fishing tools
Your notebook & pen
>>
>>4704882
Well, in this case I change my vote to
> Yes, but let me pick up supplies from my tent.
Even if they aren't part of our culture, giving a nice, helpfull gift for their co unity can help getting an alliance.
Also we should get one of our guns in case we need to shoot something far away.
>>
>Your tablet with information
>Your notebook & pen

We should make copies of the info soon

Also so we can share some info with the Witches and write down whatever they know
>>
>>4704792
I'll change this to getting a gift for the Witches. It's our culture so eh.
>>
>>4704784
>>> Yes.

> Yes, but let me pick up supplies from my tent.
It is always good to be prepared. Also find a gift that they will like or is especially useful to them to show our good intentions.

I am excited for chapter two. Take Your notebook & pen.

"I need to pick up something from my hut. Then we can go." You say and she nods.

When you get to your hut you look for the right gift of your various trinkets and gadgets. You use your recent gift, among your other gifts on some of the unpowered gadgets to figure out what they do and how to power them.

Using your charger, and a quick test you find that you may have a potential gift that may work. You finally have figured out what those eight gadgets do.
One medicine medicine synthesizer, which makes what you can see as a pain reliever and antiseptic agent.

One long range sensor scanner that also acts as a weather array

A training device and data slate, that act in showing how to build various communications arrays and devices

A device that acts as a shield against projectile weaponry that can be worn as a belt, thing is it is way to small for you (or any big man to be honest) and you are not sure if you can subtract the part from the belt. BUT it might fit a witch.

A defensive turret that is concealed in a very small carrying case. The weapon system is some sort of light based weapon. It seems very reliable.

A machine that creates various beverages from herbs and leaves are put into it, and from what you see can also remove poison and toxins from said herbs and leaves, separating them and putting them aside in a vial. You imagine you can isolate other compounds this way.

A genetic sequencing device.

A pair of goggles that can be used in the dark and multiple other things. It comes with a charging case that you were able to figure out (since you were able to open the puzzle box that was the charger...)

Can we make a copy of it? It would be a nice thing for every member of the alliance to have so they could coordinate when the pirates come.
If we can't, than I choose
A device that acts as a shield against projectile weaponry that can be worn as a belt, thing is it is way to small for you (or any big man to be honest) and you are not sure if you can subtract the part from the belt. BUT it might fit a witch.

Since it's only one, we aren't giving them a lot of power and we are seen as sincere in establishing an alliance against the slavers.

Good afternoon!

5 people vote witches brew.

Let me know if I should optimize my posting habits for more participation.
_____

"Witches and their weird drinks." You say picking up the beverage maker. You walk outside of the tent, and most of the village is waiting. Including your ma who comes up to hug you

"You better come back." She says

"I will ma." You say back, and your father hands you something. It's a book. It looks, as ancient as the dark one.

"Read it on the way there. It will help you. It helped me. My father gave it to me. The big men are going to be busy for days if the Shaman is going to be right." He say and you nod you grab the book from him and he puts his hand on your shoulder.

You take the book and put it in your pouch.

"You ready now?" Morgiana asks.

"Ye." You say knowing that you need this to be done, and quick. The village gives you a send off as you walk by. The Big Men are still off at the distant island. The witches form a file around the pair of you and escort you to the boat. You put your board on the side and tie it down.

"You gonna go surfing?" She asks.

"Maybe. I hear the waves may be good where your island is located." You say and she makes a weird snort and an odd noise and some of the other witches do as well.

"We do indeed have some of the biggest waves on the planet." Morgiana says.

"I am sensing that there is more to it." You say and she nods

"The water is usually a little cold." She says and it doesn't phase you. As the boat gets out a distance they turn on the engine and it goes a bit faster. This is not nearly as fast as it needs to be to get to as far as they talk about in less than a day.

"This will take days to get to your island." You say

"It would. Fortunately we have something that goes much faster." Morgiana says. And then you see it. Just hidden over the horizon from the island. A big goofy looking thing of the likes of which you have never seen anything like before.

"What is that?"

"A Eurkranoplane. A ground effect vehicle. It can go really fast and skims above the waves like your board does." She says.
>>
>>4706252
"What is that?"

A ground effect vehicle. It can go really fast and skims above the waves like your board does." She says. It wasn’t in anything you studied. It looks like a combination of some star boats, a boat, a plane and- well-- ugly.

As you get inside what you have safely determined is at least a vehicle, the witches finally start talking.

“How long is the trip going to be?” You ask, and one of the witches, who is older and looks a bit wiser then the rest looks outside at the clouds

“About 5 hours. If the weather holds.” She says.

5 hours to travel an incredibly long distance according to the map. This kind of technology would be really nice for the tribe to have. Five hours until you go to the witches homeland.

You could probably do a few things on this trip, you realize as you look out the window.

____

Pick as many as you can justify and order of amount of time dedicated

>> Study the Subjects you got from the pod
>> Make small talk, learn about the witches
>> Talk to Morgiana
>> Learn about the vehicle.
>> Observe the planet out the window, try to note any islands that are important
>> Talk to the older witch who told you about the time it will take
>> Make notes on the medical information you learned
>> Play with the Shoal Stoat (Maybe teach her a trick)
>> Write ins
>>
>> Learn about the vehicle.
Basis for a custom Grav-Craft
>> Make small talk, learn about the witches
>> Talk to Morgiana
These could be combined
>> Observe the planet out the window, try to note any islands that are important
This will come in useful latera

And finally:
>> Play with the Shoal Stoat (Maybe teach her a trick)
We've done nothing with her so far
>>
>>4706255
>> Make small talk, learn about the witches
>> Talk to Morgiana
>> Talk to the older witch who told you about the time it will take
This 3 can be done at the same time
>> Play with the Shoal Stoat
Just pet her for now
>Read the book dad gave us, or atleast skim through it.
>>
>>4706265
Oh fuck, it's in order of priority, let me change it.
Read the book
Talk with witches
Pet stoat.
>>
>>4706255
>Read book [until finished]
It shouldn't take too long, we are a primarch. Probably an hour tops.

>Make small talk [2 hours]
>Play with stoat [remaining time]
Teach Stoat to sit and go where directed.
>>
>>4706255
>>> Make small talk, learn about the witches
>>> Observe the planet out the window, try to note any islands that are important

Crossover with 2nd Primarch quest when
>>
>>4706255
>> Make small talk, learn about the witches
>> Talk to Morgiana
>> Talk to the older witch who told you about the time it will take
Talk to the witches and try to break the ice. Maybe do this with them:
>> Play with the Shoal Stoat (Maybe teach her a trick)
When there are pauses do this:
>> Observe the planet out the window, try to note any islands that are important
and when you are nearing the island either make the medical notes or study the subjects from pod, whichever you can do the most of in the time remaining.
The idea is to learn from each other and warm them up to the prospect of an alliance if they aren't going to ask us themselves. Watching the islands is in case it's needed and the reading/notes part is in case we need to use our knowledge to persuade them further.

You decide that you can multitask, in a sense. For the first part of the trip you decide to read up on the data slate you have been given. You realize that technology and fabrication, actually go together hand in hand, and your skill with electricity could make this easier. Mana seems to run through technology, and fabrication- which is implementation and creation of technology and artifice- seems to be a bit more complicated than your wood carved surf board and on mass scale. You realize, that with a lot of the dumpers do you could probably start manufacturing things, but what you are not sure yet. It’s a big process, but the technology lesson helps. Currently at the technological capacity the island is, it would take a while to get to what you need to fabricate weapons and arms, over a century. However, with everything that the dumpers it is much easier in theory if you scrap and salvage from them.

What concerns you is this mention of the machine spirit. Which you think is some lame interpretation of Mana. It kind of makes sense. As your reading it. Everything has ‘spirit’ why wouldn’t a machine? So you feel out the mana on the “Ground Effect Vehicle.” The mana, seems grumpy if anything. It doesn’t like being used like this. It feels like it wants to be used for war. Which brings you to the lessons of warfare.
This gives you the horrible realization that your island merely plays at war. Granted, with more in depth realization that your actual culture is incidently good at the logistics and prevention of war. Big Man culture itself, prevents war from breaking out. Your hakas and fighting is a good way to keep tensions down. Piracy and privateering the way it’s done on your planet is incredibly inefficient. While the fighting style of the tribe looks actually fairly strong, and seems similar to certain ancient terran styles You feel that you are going to have to train the big men in warfare too. Especially on a planet that has knights. You realize that if your tribe runs into the knights it may mean extinction. From your position, you could do well at guerrilla raids, then generalized ‘marine’ and ‘amphibious’ warfare however, you know your people will shine in naval and void warfare however, when that time comes. If they ever really get that big. There is a lot to go over with this, and you pet and gently pet the shoal stoat as you watch outside- keeping an eye for any islands, and writing them down.
>>
>>4707064

You begin to get a headache with how much you have to overcome with warfare. You don’t want to say you mastered it. But you know as much about it at is you do surgery. Then you look back through the warfare doctrine. Special warfare tactics may suit your people the most, once you get the technology. Surgical strikes. Things that should not be combined, yet sensible. A lot of advanced warfare, you feel may be more suited to your tribe. Once maybe you get the technology together. You wonder, maybe if somewhere out there, there are other primarchs like you. What they are going through? Do they have your problems? Are they big men too? How is the weight on their shoulders? What the man who made you is going through? Is he looking for you? Does he even know about you? The shoal stoat nibbles at the jerky you feed it.

“She’s playful. What’s her name?” A witch asks.

“I haven’t named her yet. Our people have to earn their names, except for what the parent gives, her parent was taken from her by The Big Boy. A Giant Electrical Eel Shark as the old man called it, what you would probably know it as.” You say to the witch.

“Well she’s feisty, and she survived the big monster you talked about as a mere babe. Sounds like she deserves a name.” The witch says.

“Hmm. I think I got a name for her. Erihapeti.” You say

“That’s pretty for a pretty little Shoal Stoat. What’s it mean?”

“Helper.” You say.

“ Why name her that? How is she a helper?” The witch asks

“Well she helped me talk to you of course.” You say with a smile and the witch laughs.

“Well that she did. My name is Gela.” The witch says which causes Morgiana to change seats to be next to you.

You decide to talk to them about the islands along the way, and help you name them. The reason the other witches didn’t talk is they were sworn to silence until they got you upon the ship. Though they were tempted to talk. You begin playing with Erihapeti, you finally get to be able to follow at least the command of ‘sit’ and ‘stay’. Which is an encouraging thing, as most animals take a while to train.
>>
>>4707066
“So why aren’t there any male witches?” You ask

“The witch gene only passes to the women. Our men, just really don’t leave the island save to fish or the occasional hunt.” Morgiana says.

“What about the men, where do you get them from?” You ask and there is a little giggling.

“We usually go to islands and court men. Some islands that isn’t so easy to do, so we kind of, well we usually ask men that want to leave and go on an adventure. We don’t do anything nefarious as it is against our beliefs.” Morgiana says.

“A man I know said men who go with you aren’t the same when they see em again, when they are with the slavers.” You mention and they all look saddened.

“Yeah. Because they don’t take us. They take three volunteer men.” Morgiana says.

“They took my brother.” Gela says

“They took my husband” The eldest, you know as Esa, says.

“And my father.” Morgiana says.

“What happens if they don’t go? You are witches, you have power why not fight back.” You ask.

“The slavers send people who can shut down our power. And if they don’t volunteer they take us. And torture us.” Esa says.

“My mother says you will change things.” Morgiana says as you pet the shoal stoat. The witches are more than they seem. There mana, seems fierce and determined. You detect no dishonesty, but there isn’t any. The electricity is palpable in the mana.

You look at the witches. They seem sad, but you do not trust them yet. You know that working together would probably work towards more trust between your cultures. You know though that they aren't the only one who have experienced loss. So you do something that has not been done as far as you have known.

Record of the Eleventh Primarch

"It concerned other legions, at least at first. In other situations, in another time it may have damned him. But this gave him perspective few others had."

"I have lost. I have lost people I have never known. A sister I have never met. An Aunt I have never met. People whom I have never met, yet they cast a shadow. My father, eternally haunted by the loss of his daughter. My uncle, haunted by the loss of a wife. I don't care how your mother knows me. I don't care that you practice witch craft." You say and they start to focus on you.

"What I do care about is the spirit of our people. Of my tribe. Of your tribe. Of the planet. The slavers they take and take and take. What do they know of spirit? What do they care of us?" You say, most of them even Morgiana nodding to what you are saying.

"They care not for who we are or what we lose. The old man of our village. A shaman as he calls himself. He say we all fought together once and fought them off." You say and some look at you skeptically, but they are listening and receptive some of them agreeing aloud.

"We need to again! We stop them now and end this threat for good! I don't know who they are or where they are I don't care. But they will be punished." You say and they all seem to be in agreement with you. You can feel the energy in the air. You can feel the electricity. You can feel their anger.

" For your family!" You say pointing to some of them

" For my Family." You say and you hear more audible agreement.

"For all our families!" You say and there is a loud shout from some of them.
