Out of his plane's wreckage, our MC's d20 rolled out and landed on a 20. SOMEONE must have been paying attention and decided "its a legit natural 20", because his reincarnation took him to a world of sorcery and swords running on old-fashioned RPG rules, where he started a grand new life.

14 years, 11 months and 3 weeks after rebirth, Eldric is now leading his people in a defensive siege against an army of those who could-have-been.

They want to devour existence in order to achieve an almost-is state, but as understandable as a desire to be may be, the living are not going to just roll over and get eaten for anyone's sake.

>>Shoot in wide spread again, just to see what happens.

"Yes, Master." Our beloved redhead replies calmly, and spreads our orders to the different artillery captains.

A new salvo flies out and begins raining around our position. This time, none of it hits us.

Well, everyone looks at least a little bit more relaxed. Even if our defenses can take it, getting hit by our own allies is obviously nerve-wracking.

Now, there's little else we can do other than wait for reports of the results.

***

"Ah!" The petite pink harpy can't tell the details in the swarm of Discarded on the ground, but she can see their movements as shimmering heat waves over a grill.

As a small group detaches itself and begins moving close to the cliff's face, she decides to follow it and wait for one of her sisters to replace her. She's still watching when the cliffside begins to crumble.

'This isn't normal. They can't actually dig, can they?'

It takes a few moments before she realizes what is happening.

They are blowing up against the cliffside. The world's 'law' means that they can't 'alter the map' through direct action without the proper job, but they are blowing themselves up against the artillery-shelled cliffside and chipping off at it that way.

'I-i need to let Master know!' She flees at full speed, coming across Adrianna on her way back, and asking her to keep watch without slowing down.

***

"Master, Master!" Our cute pink-fluff winged child flies through an open window and straight into us. "They're trying to get in from the base!"
"Calm down... explain things properly." We pat pat the top of her head and have her take a moment.

As she explains, we have to decide.

>Go down and stop them from breaking in.

The keep's systems confirms that there are many such systems, but most of them are anti-climb, and assume the Discarded are trying to climb the cliffside. For anti-tunneling, there's inner barriers with electricity running through them at all times, which sto-

We get an error message, warning us that the generators usually assigned to keeping those barriers have been reassigned to the forcefield around the city.

We need more generators!
But we'll need our harpies to keep an eye on those tunneling Discarded; they might be able to find some way around the inner barriers.

And we still need to identify the Elites before they can level up too much.

We change the use of the backup generators, and mildly spook our cute harpies as, under a quarter of an hour later, Adrianna is back to report that there was a loud crackling noise, a ZZZZAP! sound and the smell of burnt flesh so stinky she lost her appetite.

Hh. An Error-zapper, is it?

Meanwhile, the troops seem to have lost some confidence due to the 'decreased' shields. Well, those are the normal shields, actually. Everything is working as it should in that sense.

The keep's defenses are still supporting them just fine, though, so they are having little issue holding the walls. Only a few, stray [ERROR]s make it up to the walls anyway.

"Master," Dawn suggests gently. "maybe you could inspire them?"

"Move unto land? Are we finally unloading troops?" The general (temporarily admiral) in charge of the super large ship looks at Lyann after hearing our instructions
"Master wants you to keep bombarding them, but to do so from a different direction. He thinks their leadership is bad at adjusting to a changing battlefield."
"...looks like an improper chain of command."

The Discarded in the canyon floor have either burnt on the 'zapper' or been bombarded to death, so our harpies are just flying to and fro in order to keep watch now. Meanwhile, the endless tide of Errors in the battlefield has begun to shrink despite the flood of invaders remaining as thick as ever.

Only a small percentage of the invaders make it close enough to fight our troops, but the sudden and obvious weakening of the shield unnerves our troops.

"Atop a wall of stone and vines, men of iron defend their homes and families!" A dazzlingly beautiful military academy cadet has been running up and down the wall, helping fight whatever [ERROR] somehow makes it past the bombardment, and under the wiggling maws of the enormous [ERROR]-eating plants that pick up enormous mouthfuls of the enemy vanguard.

Her fluffy tail and perky wolf ears sway gently on the wind as she throws a spear through an enemy so she can impale it and the enemy behind it into the ground!

Her figure spins quickly so she can kick down an enemy that was about to make it up the wall!

Her fist smashes the lower side of an invader, ripping its head off and causing its body to fall down!

...alright that last one was actually kind of intimidating, from the POV of the troops...

"Little miss, please stick to weapons and spells..." The beautiful redhead following around suggests gently
"Uh... but I really like punching them..."
"Please stick to weapons and spells..." The redhead smiles
"...oka~ay."

>Focus fire on the spots that the scouts pointed out, and have the scouts see if the Elites are actually taken down. We need to keep looking, because a new Elite might get dropped when we think we got them all.

By focusing on the spots the scouts pointed out, we manage to blow up one of the two remaining elites, but even as shells continue to fall unto its position, we see a spider-like 'drone' rise from the crusted ash, stumbling slightly as an artillery shell lands directly unto it, then taking its first, enormous step forward.

A second artillery shot hits directly unto its 'back', and causes it to stumble, yet it doesn't falls. Instead, it starts moving forth at an uncanny speed, its many legs moving in a blur as it closes the distance to the walls in no time.

The 'common' [ERROR]s begin flowing around it, rising in massive walls to intercept the shells before they can hit unto it, abandoning their function as attack units in favor of protecting the sole remaining elite.

Stella nods, and calls for the lightning gun specialists to start gathering on her position while holding fire.

"The artillery shells are doing less and less each time it gets hit:" She calls out. "Everyone attack together, don't give it time to adapt!"

The [ERROR] couldn't be called 'massive'. Tall, certainly, but its actual body was 'only' as large as a large bear, and with most of it being hardened shell, probably far smaller than that, really.

Its legs, however, were dozens of meters long, and seemed to have legs of their own. It didn't so much 'walk' as slide over the ground, like some sort of enormous aquatic insect.

The plants stretched forth, but unable to reach its body, settled for wrapping around its legs, and squeezing. Drama demanded that it tore them casually as it advanced unimpeded... but that didn't happen. The massive vines successfully immobilized it, and began gnawing at its legs while growing 'slowly' towards the body, but the legs were so long that it looked as if they were doing so at a snail's pace.

"Uhn. Convenient! Soldiers, take aim!" The valiant young officer cried out while aiming her fist at the thing's body. "Target confirm!?"
"Confirm!" Cried out the soldiers, one by one
"Blast it!" She called out, and dozens of lightning blasts flew towards the [ERROR]'s captive body.

There was no explosion, dust cloud or any other dramatic show. The blasts impacted into their target and lightning danced over it for a few moments, then its lower shell (which it had been aiming at the wall) fell off, discarded, and an obscene appendix, wet and pink and covered in white mucus, was aimed at the defenders on the wall.

"T-they've never had ranged attacks before..." was all Stella got to say before the [ERROR]s elite spewed its load all over her position.

***

"Master, I lost one body!" Lyann paused mid-run, for just a moment. "The elite used some ranged attack, and..."

***

Stella blinked. Her big sister's arms were wrapped around her head, which was pulled into her blossom, hard. But, big sister felt strangely light and stiff, and it took her a couple of moments to understand why.

Lyann's body was hollowed out from behind, as if some depraved butcher had gutted her and left just a shell to remember her by. She knew her big sister wasn't really 'dead' per see, but she still couldn't help but freeze at the realization.

Looking to her left and right, she could tell that there was no sign left of the soldiers that had been there a moment ago, and it was only then that she realized a fairly large chunk of her left leg was missing, too. The muscle on the outer side of her calf was gone, so fast she hadn't had the time to feel the pain from it.

Unable to hold her own weight, she fell down with Lyann's arms still wrapped around her, and received a [Battle Start] notification, meaning that the [ERROR]'s attack had counted as the opening shot in a boss fight.

1/?
>>
>>4832031

She didn't have the time to cry right now. Her big sister wasn't dead, she wasn't dead. It was impórtant to remind herself of that as she pushed the remains off her and steadied herself on her left leg.

'How long until it fires that thing again?' It wasn't a matter of 'can it fire it again?' but rather about how often and under which circumstances could it be fired.

She noticed that the wall itself wasn't affected, so she could probably take shelter behind the stonework if she timed things just right. Thankfully, her older brother had insisted in having her pick up caster-type jobs a couple of weeks ago, so she wasn't limited to melee attacks.

'Should I attack its weapon, or go for its 'head'?'

Stella decides to go with lightning, as it has proved itself the most effective element to use against the [ERROR]s.

Well, the part of her that got excellent grades in the military academy considered that to be an inaccurate statement. Plain old metal was extremely effective as well, as swords and other weapons seemed to carve nice, permanent wounds on the [ERROR]s that she had fought so far.

She realized, it was likely not on accident that the imperial bloodline magic manipulated metal. Sadly, it was not a talent she had, so lightning it was.

"I, who stand in the full light of the heavens,
command thee, who opens the gates of hell.
Come forth, divine lightning!" Her brother always gave up a little smile whenever she casted, so she was quite happy to have learnt magic, all things considered.

Well, there's no way she could know her 'big brother' was twisting and hurting inside from the overly embarrassing 8y/o syndrome he felt whenever he heard someone actually sing a spell.

All things, considered, she wished she knew how to shorter the aria. Aritsu would have been able to cast twice in the same time, maybe more than that, even.

Chuunibyou or not, the lightning devoured the distance between the girl's fingers and the [ERROR]'s dick-gun, causing the invader to spasm at its non-too-gentle kiss, and causing it to freeze for long enough the girl could cast again.

'This... may be easier than I thought?' She considered, hopefully.

"I, who stand in the full light of the heavens,
command thee, who opens the gates of hell.
Come forth, divine lightning!"

A second lightning bolt hit the [ERROR]'s gun, but almost immediately, thick plates of chitin grew from the [ERROR]'s body to cover its weapon.

"Tch!" The beautiful brown-skinned wolf girl clicked her tongue. "At least it can't fire like that."

She would celebrate, if it wasn't because the thing began growing new legs, discarding its old ones (trapped by the tendrils and vines as they were) in order to move closer to the wall, growing long, long arms ending in gleaming scythes.

"Oh." She let out, surprised.

***

As we run out of the tower's base and unto the top of the wall to reinforce out puppymouto, we see the obvious signs of a vicious fight. Deep gashes have been carved on the wall, pools of acid smoke here and there, impossibly long black blades that look like the arms of insects sticking here and there, and all of a sudden, a massive, stupidly tall [ERROR]'s body rising from beyond the wall with a longsword going clean through the middle of its 'head' and pinning it to its shell-covered back, a feminine hand still tightly gripping its handle.

Yup

Uhm? You want to recover the hand? Well, it is the biggest chunk left, I guess, and it does have a "3" floating over it so we do have about 18 seconds to get it and cast a [Raise] spell on it.

***

The [ERROR] cries out in frustration as it tries to pull the sword out with its bladearms, however those are meant to cut and slice in a downwards motion, and have no muscles for pushing upwards, nor rippling appendages to grab with.

It can't look at us without looking like it is bowing, and doing so in slow-mo after our first spell hits it.

"O Thunder Emperor's lance of light!" - Aritsu follows out [Slow] with a shortened-chant [Lightning], aiming for one of the [ERROR]'s legs, not daring to hit Stella's hand.

Radiant easily carries out tiny Kya to the [ERROR]'s upper body. Our pet princess jumps unto and grabs Stella's hand, but can't pry it open to fly away with it.

The tiny princess' cries of anguish are too soft to be heard over the distance that separates us, but her desperate, tiny figure pulling on the hand is easy to understand.

The three is replaced with a "two" as our [Demi] hits the [ERROR], causing the monster to roar and fall to the side.

It doesn't just 'feels' like it, it genuinely is falling in slow motion thanks to our [Slow] spell.

The vines and tendrils of the plant-type pets wiggle and squirm as they get ready to welcome it as soon as it gets low enough.

"Master, quick, free the princess!" Dawn calls out on a rush
"No, 'gift' her to the young mistress!" Lyann corrects
"I can make the jump..." Aritsu is starting to run towards the wall's edge, seemingly intending on jumping unto the falling [ERROR] (presumably to cast [Raise] or at least retrieve Stella's hand.

Wait, wasn't there a long-ranged spell that could pause the Resurrection counter?
I could have sworn there was one that we could cast.

If we free Kya, we have no guarantee that she would go out of Drone Mode, even though freeing her should Unequip her and restore her to size.

If we gift Kya to Stella, the problem is that Stella is currently dead and can't accept the "gift" command.

Aritsu's plan is just plain dangerous, but it doesn't have any unknowns to it.

King, we've already tested having Kya switch between Regular Size and Drone Size, haven't we?
Was the change in size due to [Equip]ing Kya as a Drone, or was it a Command that we gave her?

It may be for the best if we don't use any of the base options.

Not that I can remember.

It was because of her new [Race]

And necromancers can stop the death counter, but I don't remember us taking the job. Do we have Zoe with us? She has it maxed as part of her maxing out most cleric jobs and sub-jobs.

If we free Kya she won't grow, but she will be able to use all of her skills and abilities normally instead of just the drone ones.

If we gift her... yeah that was a trap.

Aritsu could jump in, grab the hand, store it in her [Inventory] and then worry about the landing. Well, we have Radiant out and hovering close by, though.

I have a bunch of ideas on other stuff to do but I don't wanna give too many suggestions.
>>
>>4835091
I don’t remember specifically taking he Necromancer Job, but I assumed we would have picked it up as part of our drive to max everything.

As for if Zoe is with us, I’ll check the archives.

It does sound like the best option might be to have Eldric keep the Elite’s attention while Radiant helps Aritsu get to Stella’s hand, grab it and put it in Inventory, and then retreat with Kya to Raise Stella.

Not sure if Raising Stella on the spot would be faster or better, though.
>>
>>4835091
I don’t think Kya has any Cleric Jobs; she was mostly an arcane spellcaster, and she had not been adventuring with us for long before becoming a Drone, so even if she gets access to all of her skills and abilities, they won’t help.
Also, is Kya’s inability to move Stella’s hand due to the shrinking causing her STR to go down, or because Kya’s STR is so much lower than Stella’s?

No, seriously, even at full size her STR is barely 1/30 of our puppymouto's anyway. She'd be better off just picking the sword with the hand along than trying to pry the hand open.

>>leave the sword behind

Our elven princess' heels click clat as she rushes to the edge of the monster's shell, and throws herself over, trusting in us to have a plan already.

She doesn't thanks the gods or even her good luck as Radiant flies directly under her, just reaches out and grabs the edge of the saddle harness, then pulls and finally sits atop it.

The [ERROR] lands in the ground, hard, and finds itself in the middle of a sea of enormous vines as thick as trunks, vegetal maws the size of horses, and thorns the length of spears.

It disappears under the green devourses that is this world's immune system, shooting bursts of smoking goo as its last act of malice.

1-90 its shooting blind, it misses
90-95 Radiant gets hit
96+ Aritsu gets hit

1 - dies
2 - maimed

Im more of a fan of "dress without underwear" or "underwear as dress" than just everything out all the time. I could get behind a kamisk that has super easy access since it isn't secured around the waist so it just hangs down the front and back.

Once Radiant makes it back to us and Aritsu hops down unto our arms, we quickly recover Stella's remains and use [Raise], The magic works as intended, though we need to cover our mildly confused imouto with our cloak for now.

"Ah! Big brother, you made it!" She clings to use while wagging her tail
"Yes, you did great holding it back." We smooch her softly and rub rub her ears while hugging her.

Aritsu sighs, and Lyann pats her shoulder gently, as she whispers to her until our elf princess relaxes and her ears ease down.

"Hm. Everyone is aware there is still like... a couple million of those things over there, right?" Dawn sighs, while Zoe makes shushing noises.

On the one hand, I want to let the enemy come to us, making them fight through the plants.
But on the other hand, that gives the Elites more time to kill their troops and level up.

No? But if you "pull them out" of that job, the plants will attack everything, not just the [ERROR]s
>>

>Well, let's continue as is and focusing on the elites as they make it to the walls. (those that survive the artillery, that is)
This does give the Elites a chance to level up, and they'll be stronger when they arrive at the walls, but going out to fight them risks getting swarmed by the other Discarded, or getting hit by our own artillery.

So Aritsu was exasperated at how Stella and Eldric ignored that Stella was so close to death and there’s still a good chance of dying in the future?

The Command Room could activate new systems and features of the Keep.
Also, we're still the only one recognized by the Keep as having command authority. We still need to be there to take command of the Keep's systems.

In fact, once we're back in the command room, we should ask the Keep if there are sensors to detect the Discarded, and if it can pick out the Elites for targeted bombardment.

We go back to the command room and have the keep display the positions of the discarded. It replies that we are in an engineering room, not a command deck, and such displays are not available at our position.

Well, the obvious thing to do is to ask it for directions to a command deck, isn't it?

It directs us to a teleport pod, and we emerge in a dimly lit space. We can't see the walls, but based on the echo of our footsteps, it is easy to guess that it is indeed quite the vast room.

Dimly lit screens seem to float in a circle some distance away, and a 'path' of softly glowing lights guide us straight to them, so we quickly arrive and see that the displays are hovering over large magic cores suspended on wood-like pedestals.

"Not wood." Aritsu sounds mildly disappointed
"I guess you would know." Dawn starts
"I am an elf." Our elfie princess stands straighter and puffs up her chest.
"And so very well acquainted with Master's morning wood." Finishes the horny blueberry maid

Aritsu chokes and gasps at the same time, blushing crimson red.

"Eh... that's not fair, I want to do that too!" Stella complains from where she's standing at the back
"Big brother's morning wood? Wh-?" Zoe blinks blinks, her tail swaying softly as she tries to make sense of the other's jokes
"..." The girls suddenly seem to remember Zoe is with them, and go quiet while looking embarrassed

Except for Stella.

"Eh, haven't you slept with big brother plenty of times? You know how his p-hmmph?!" Lyann gently pulls Stella into a hug and holds a hand over her mouth.
"Do not worry about it, little miss. They are just joking." Our redhead explains in a warm sisterly manner
"Well, yes, but I'm not usually the type to not get the joke..."
"Do not worry about it."
"...alright."

We sigh at how good the girls are at deflating the serious mood, and look around.

"Keep, turn these displays on." We command, but nothing happens. "Keep, how do we turn these displays on?"

[Currently in energy saving mode. Please request for the specific display you'd like to direct energy to.]

Alright... shit they all look the same, not even a little tag with its function on the pedestals.

My reasoning for this is that the Command Deck is in power-saving mode. We should check to see how much power is in the reserves, and if we can bring any reactors or power cores online to increase available power. Engineering could also show us any failures in the defenses that we need to shore up.

>Is it just that its shorter? How about this one, then?
Yes, I liked it better because it was shorter.
I like this one as well, I think the design is better because it doesn't have sharp angles, only rounded edges.

We call for engineering, and a full six screens lit up, showing seas of menus and system checks, over half of them coming up with warning screens.

Aritsu wanders off to the furtest away screens, followed by Lyann, while Zoe trots over to the ones closest to us.

Dawn fishes out a large, heavy wrought iron pillar with a mana stone slot and a burner at the top, then starts brewing tea atop it.

...hey, hey. You do remember you went to college with all of us, right? Shouldn't you be able to man a screen, too?!

Stella looks around, but doesn't seems particularly interested until she spots a screen warning displaying "Ammo Manufacturing" on it, then immediately wanders to it while wagging her fluffy tail.

Well, let's see what's on display on the screens we're next to...

1- [Warning: Primary Reactors Offline.]
2- [Warning: Matter Factories offline.]
3- [Warning: E.C.C has been breached.]
4- [Warning: Emergency Power at 47%]

That comment makes me chuckle, somehow.
Also, somehow I like to imagine the hardships of Athena's 'fiancée/pen pal' from Black lake since they're the same age but it would be funny if he was a late bloomer that looks 9 next to Athena that looks16+ but is still a pre-teen.

We decide to see what this breach is about and gently poke at the message on the screen. Immediately, all other messages are minimized behind a small, glowing red dot on the upper left of the screen, and a circular 'window' pops up showing an obvious chamber of some sort, its walls twisted outwards from the inside.

"Hh. At least it doesn't look like the [ERROR]s are making their way in... let's go see what this is about."

We have the system guide us to the ECC, and read about it along the way. The Elemental Containment Chamber is basically the "starter plug" for the main reactor, meaning that even if we had chosen to repair the reactor, we couldn't have turned it on without this being taken care of first.

We teleport to a long-abandoned floor and see something surprising... the dead corpse of an efreet, its body having long ago turned to ash, all of its inner fuel consumed.

The Alquian Empire uses elementals as generators, but for our ancestors, they were just fancy sparkers. Curious enough, we find a chain of crystalline material with army-style dog tags on it.

Engineer First Class Aaadil
SSE 781-488-047

"He wasn't a prisoner, then?" Lyann looks around. "Please don't tell me that Master's ancestors just forgot someone was inside that thing."
"Shouldn't his body have sublimated?" Asks Zoe. "Bodies don't just linger unless they have been [Preserved]."

"I don't think they did." We comment as we notice something out of the corner of our vision.

The bodies of multiple humans, beastkin, and a single majin, all of them looking as if they had died mere moments ago, still wearing uniforms and all of them showing obvious evidence of violence.

"...?" The girls seem quite confused at the sight.

>Shit, we have a saboteur. Or we had one who knows how long ago.
>Whoever it happened, these people have been dead for thousands of years, let's focus on repairing this place.

"They all have ID tags just like the salamander engineer." Comments Stella, having checked the bodies.
>>
>>4848653
>Other: Try to [Raise] the EFC Aaadil and others.
We need to fix the ECC, and maybe have Fahima work as a spark plug.
As for figuring out the saboteur, first we need to have the Keep bring up records on the Engineer First Class Aaadil, to see how long ago he was active. Then we need to consider that the ECC's systems could be compromised beyond just being blown out.

Well, if their bodies are preserved...

"Zoe, use [Raise] on them, please."
"I can, but... big brother, 'their world is dead', you know?"

She means that everyone they knew, everything they own, everything is gone.

"That's fine, Master's finances can certainly support a couple of hundred people if he wanted to, and even more so if we are talking about valuable personnel." Lyann gently rubs out kitty imouto's head and kitty ears.
"Hm. Alright..."

Our kitty priestess starts casting [Raise] on the staff. Well, their bodies were preserved but we needed to hand them clothes, cloaks, blankets, sheets and towels. Thankfully, we had just enough for everyone, though now we're out of anything larger than a handkerchief.

"Oh, thank you." Says one of the beastkin, a deer-type beastkin female with rather cute horns and light chetnut hair. "But aren't you are clearly not a rescue squad."

Heh, makes one think of some sort of Christmas cosplay.

"Rescue squad, is it?" Well, I guess it makes sense that such a big installation as the keep would have medical response teams.

So this girl I liked as late teens/adult Athena is a dragon of some kind, but it did make me think of something: If we want a pet with our own genes, can't we borrow our imouto for like 5 minutes?

Make her a pet, capture her, 'breed her', then release her back.

Dragon + Di Lumiere gens -> This pic

(I think we could change Lightbringer to Di Lumiere since it feels more setting appropriate, unless anyone complains.)

>Other: Give a short explanation and ask that her team begin repairing the ECC while she explains what happened.

Short Explanation: You've been dead for an incredibly long time; currently, the Discarded have begun their invasion, and they are using new tactics. They are sending Elites, covered by their grunt forces, to attack the Keep. The Keep is dangerously undermanned and many systems off-line. We need the reactor to come back online, so that the other defenses can be activated.

>>Other: Give a short explanation and ask that her team begin repairing the ECC while she explains what happened.

Half of the humans and beastkin seem too shocked to react to our explanation, but the main snaps them out of it just by clapping and gaining their attention.

"Well, we can't let those drawing table rejects eat our descendants, can we? Everyone, back to work!" She seems to be using the most authoritative tone of voice she can, but it works as the engineers get themselves together and start using [Craft] to make spare parts.

Uhmmm these guys may be a gold mine. You can only [Craft] things you know how to make, so these guys are more than familiar with our ancestors' tech.

The efreet, tho, is still unresponsive...

I think it's fine, and it would let Athena Evolve into a higher type of Human. But our parents might be against it.
>>
>>4849498

Well, I thought we wanted a baseline human with Di Lumiere genes. We agreed before that we couldn't really trust any of the girls to keep us as her pet without running away with us, so this is the best I could think of... wait, maybe its actually a problem anyway since whoever we breed her with, the result won't be 100% our family genes anyway? So we still need to trust one of the girls to have Athena and us as pets for like 5 minutes.

Mako? I feel we can trust Ren to free us, but not before having a threesome with Athena and us, so its a "no good". If we warned her against it, to begin with, how could we ask her for a threesome with Mako afterwards, after all...

Suggestions?

*facepalm* We could ask Ellie, right?!

***

We summon Fahima and offer her to the ECC technicians as their spark plug...

"An elemental is the only one able to resist the energies flowing inside the ECC, but its not as easy as using a fire spell." Explains one of the technicians. "There will be a console inside and she'll need to keep track of the energies and processes of the reactor the whole time. Aaadil is a first class engineer by his own skill. Its not an empty title, you know?"
"Hmm..."

Aaadil is still cradling his legs while sitting with his back against a wall. Well, as traumatic as getting killed was for the others, he starved to death, so the level of trauma is completely different...

Wait, this guy died of hunger.
And the bodies of his colleagues were right there, preserved. He'd rather die of hunger than spoil his friend's bodies.

We gently explain Aaadil the situation while he eats. By the time he's done through 2 meals, he seems much more calm.
