Lurkinganon, now hopefully starting a (successful) WormQuest.

You are a member of the Asian Bad Boyz. A parahuman, to be exact. What are your powers, and why do you have them?

>Tengu (Triggered during a house fire that killed his family.)
>>Mover/Shaker
>>Portal creation to self-contained ‘hellish’ dimension.
>>Portals are not Manton-limited.
>>Portals can be sustained for indefinite periods of time.
>>Only one portal can be open at a time.
>>Intensely dangerous dimension; heatstroke, self-combustion, and immolation are all experienced.
>>Parahuman appears to be immune to own dimension.

>Kappa (Triggered during Empire 88 attack and kidnapping.)
>>Striker/Blaster, Mover
>>Teleportation, creates weapons that can be telekinetically controlled and accelerated.
>>Weapons appear to be able to cut through Level IV armor, and Tinker-level protection with sustained effort.
>>Weapons have been seen accelerating up to 100 m.p.h..
>>Teleportation appears to be line of sight.

>Bonghwang (Triggered when his stepfather attempted to murder him by drowning.)
>>Breaker (Shaker), Brute
>>When receiving mortal wounds, will spontaneously combust, appearing as a ‘fiery bird’ for roughly three minutes after.
>>Radius of flame appears to be controllable, ranging from 1 feet to 100 feet.
>>Flame appears to be inextinguishable until Breaker form subsides.

>Shen (Triggered after parents disowned him.)
>>Master
>>Causes victims in a general area to suffer confusion, with extended exposure causing loss of memory. Extreme cases have seen complete amnesia.

>Fenghuang (Triggered after cult attack and mutilation at job site, in which multiple coworkers triggered.)
>>Brute, Blaster/Striker
Possesses wings, that can be used for flight, as well as to launch feathers capable of piercing body armor. Is able to control own hair, and usable for defence and attack. Hair appears to be stronger than normal. Heat vision, capable of melting steel, though not sustainable for lengthy periods.

I miss wendigo quest
>>
>>4806629
>Kappa
I'm glad to see another work quest btw. The last one I remember was the character being a part of the Empire, before being shoehorned into being a hero.
>>
>>4806629
>Bonghwang
>>
>>4806629
>not playing one of the original trio

Lung would have been based, but I would have settled for the bomb-maker.
>>
>>4806750
Mhm, who knows? You might be related to them.
>>
>>4806750
Play our cards right and we might get a promotion.

>>4806629
What quests did you run?
>>
>>4806760
Some drivel on Akun.
>>
>>4806629
>Shen (Triggered after parents disowned him.)
>>
>>4806762
What's Akun?
>Kappa
If we can make weapons, we can sell weapons.
>>
>>4806629
>Shen

I can't honestly decide for the life of me, so I chose the one that has the most character. After all, triggering from your parents disowning you is very interesting, even if said power isn't very combat oriented.
>>
>>4806839
Not quite creation, to be specific. More of Miss Milita-style generation, that disintegrate after a while.
>>
>>4806839
That's a Tinker thing, not a Mover/Striker/Blaster thing.
>>
>>4806629
>Tengu (Triggered during a house fire that killed his family.)
>>
Gonna wait for a few more votes, currently a tie.
>>

You could give it a day if you want. No need to rush into it lad.

So we can open portals inside of people right?

changing my vote to Tengu then. God damn that's a brutal way to go, getting a literal portal to hell opened to your chest cavity.
Bonus points that we can survive in it. What I want to know is how hot it is inside, what we can bring inside, and if we need a change of clothes every time we go inside.
>>
>>4807470
Hot enough to make flesh slough off after 1-2 minutes, we can only bring clothes/small objects, and said clothes survive.
>>
>>4807475
I'm sold. Keep a phone or watch, set a timer, sleep in your own dimension. Who even needs a house.

Tengu wins.

You're a literal demon, perhaps even more so than Oni Lee is, despite his name. You aren't envious, no. Your envy, pride, honour. All burnt out in a husk of a building once called home. In those flames, set by laughing, pale faces, all that remained of you, and your family, is vengeance.

Kimiko. Your wife. Shizuko. Your firstborn daughter. Kuro. Your son. Akihiro. Your father. All snuffed out by flames of foolish, stupid men who thought themselves superior.

You triggered there, even as they were running, running from their deed. Cowards. They could not even bear to see what they had wrought. Something had pulled at you there, your eyes straining to see beyond, and a sparking, fiery ring appeared before you. Their flames did not burn, no. They were like the wind, blowing past your soot-blackened skin. Crossing into what looks, feels, seems like Hell itself is an odd experience, and even when your finger curl up in a fist, you can see still out.

Amidst the towering flames and dark, ashy sands, you see in the place of the sky, a vision of the 'outside'. A few thugs still gather on the street corner, across from your would-be deathbed, guns and bats slung and cradled. Still, you see a steel monster-Hookwolf, looming in the street, snarling and biting Armsmaster.

It would seem that the outside is no more peaceful then this hell of yours.

>Stay here. In time their foot will slip, and you will have your revenge.
>You will avenge yourself upon those thugs.
>The law has been useless, but you may still aid it.
>Write-in.
>>
>>4807532
>You will avenge yourself upon those thugs.
Armsmaster is too much of a problem now to get to hookwolf. He will get his soon enough.
>>
>>4807532
>You will avenge yourself upon those thugs.
Do we travel by making portals into and out off hell or can we portal by choosing 2 points and making a hell-tunnel between?
>>
>>4807532
>Stay here. In time their foot will slip, and you will have your revenge.

>>4807611
Into and out of lad. Only one portal for us.
>>
>>4807611
>Update
I too wonder how travel functions with our portal. If we step in our dimension, and move ten step forward, then exit the portal, would we appear exactly at the same spot from where we opened it, or would we appear ten step ahead?
>>
>You will avenge yourself upon those thugs.

The only choice when family Just died and the ones to blame are right next to you.
>>
>>4807706
>>4807611
One at a time. We open a portal, go in, close it, and open a new one. If we don't close a portal, it remains at the same spot in the real world.

Rages becomes you.

Three generations of your family, your flesh and blood, your kith and kin. They died, horribly. You wish you were there as well. But you have been cursed with life--even this mockery of one. You will avenge. You will repay.

You tear open a gate to the outside world, clawing opening a fiery rift. They see you all too late, and you lunge at one. You are not a particularly strong man, or an agile one. You were an accountant before this.

But your fist and outstretched hand seem to steam when they touch the tattooed man, and he shrieks while pink spreads over his face.

"C-cape!"

You don't hear that word, consumed in the heat of the moment. You leap back, into your personal hell, and grasp at the swastika on his neck, grasp at one of the men who did this to you.

Flesh sloughs off, and you can hear his bones crack. The portal is still open, but you care not. Let his cowardly friends see. His skin, or what remains of it blackens, as his hair is lit aflame by spurt of phantasmal flame. He screams, as tongues of orange lick at his burning corpse. The man dies oh-so-quickly, though, and you toss him to the ground, the flame consuming him.

His friends are already running, when you reappear. But it seems your justice has not gone unnoticed. The Wolf and Knight stop their engagement for but a second, and look at you.

>Hookwolf will pay. God help anyone in your way.
>Armsmaster is worthless. He must be punished.
>You will wait this out in hell. It is your home now.
>>

>Hookwolf will pay. God help anyone in your way.
>>
>>4809071
Actually, can we target the fleeing goons first, then Hookwolf?
>>
>>4809071
>Hookwolf will pay
>"YOU SHALL SUFFER AS I HAVE SUFFERED, WITH ALL THE FURIES OF HELL UPON YOU HOOKWOOOOOOOOOOLF!"

Lets not half ass this.
>>
>>480908
Nah, you're trying to figure 'wat do' when two big ol' capes are staring at you.
>>
>>4809090
changed my mind. We'll do more damage to the 88 if we manage to get lucky and kill Hookwolf.
>>
>>4809120
Leaving him in our dimension for a few hours will see him dead after he has to fall asleep.

Him. He who led this men. He is responsible.

Perhaps sensing your vengeful intent, the jagged dog rears, batting Armsmaster aside with steel paw.

"Come on you, chink!"

Rushing at him, you tear and tear. A brief scene of hell, then you appear behind him, wreathed in flame, anguish and anger plain on your face. Your feet strike his steel snout, but Hookwolf butts you aside like he did with others, and you land and the He advances on you, shaking off sparks and broken spikes.

You will not die here. Vengeance is not yours yet.

You rip apart a seam in the ground, orange cracks opening up beneath the Wolf. He sees it--and it's all too late. He howls, and falls in to the fires below. Standing up, you wipe the soot out of your eyes with threadbare, burnt, rags, and look into the abyss. Your abyss.

Jumping down, you brace for impact, only to land safely and softly on the fissured and shaking ground. Closing the portal behind you, you watch your metallic captive.

He's wading in the streams of lava, scutes and scales melting as fast as they form. His war-howls are now screams of pain, orange-hot steel dripping and pouring down his sides. 'Behind' him, in the vision-scape of this world, you see Armsmaster futilely looking around, and the charred skeleton of your home further beyond.

>Hookwolf will die. Sooner or later, he will.
>Give him a gate. You will brand him, but spare him.
>>
>>4810497
>He will die. Sooner or later he will

Not armsmaster. No, he did not help us but he does not deserve to die. Yet.
>>
>>4810497
>Give him a gate. You will brand him, but spare him.
To suffer, he must be alive.
>>
>>4810559
His breaker state will keep him alive for hours. He will have plenty of time to suffer before he collapses.

Who knows, he may never leave it. Dont let him out after only a minute, because he will take this knowledge with him and the rest of the E88 will grow wise to our vendetta and our powers.
>>
>>4810497
>>Give him a gate. You will brand him, but spare him.
Isn't killing capes in Worm kinda bad?
>>
>>4810606
Not really.

People treat you how you treat others. If you kill people, people fight you with the expectation you are out to kill them.
Murder is fine if you are strong or smart enough to suffer the repercussions. . . Or there are no witnesses.

But from a personal view, I dont see why our boy here would know these rules or even consider them when faced with the object of his hatred
>>
>>4810497
>Hookwolf will die. Sooner or later, he will.
>>
>>4810559
of we could just kill him.

>>4810606
yes, but the fact that he killed our entire family is also bad. so it balances out. that's science for you.

The sight horrifies--and inspires you in equal measure. And so, you wait. You watch his feeble and futile attempts at treading the lake of fire. You listen to his every invective, every curse, and every scream. You remember the old pose, and sit. Knees on rough, burning ground, and hands in your lap.

He calls you all sorts of things. Hookwolf never learned that one children's rhyme, it would seem. Stick and stones, and fire, may hurt your bones, but words, words are meaningless to you know.

Your vengeance cools, from raging tide of magma, to pillar of ashy lava. This is only the beginning, you think, even as he sinks further and further down in the depths, crude wolf's head now just floating, and barely at that.

And so, you sit. Even as Armsmaster and those 'heroes' leave the scene, even as the few thugs alive scatter into the dark. Even as your old home and hearth creaks and cracks, yellow tape billowing in the wind.

Finally, the screams and howls stop. Opening your eyes, you see a charred, blackened, near-unrecognizable body, dark flakes flying away. Just a man, in the end. A man, who took everything from you.

Your father, your wife, your child. Even your love, you think, is gone, and in its place a hardened heart of fire-licked stone. The least you can do for them now, is to remember them.

You tear asunder a sparking gate, inside the remains of a family. You gather up burnt corpses, carefully swaddling them in black shrouds. There is no proper cremation for the dead here, no monk, or priest attending. No, you simply lay them over a gout of flame, and as the blue-orange fire burns so brightly, you gather up the ashes. The ashes of a woman you loved, a father you loved, and a child you loved.

Your dusty and soot-covered pants are hardly a proper urn, but a small leather pouch, stitched together by Shizuko, all those years ago. It is a poor receptacle, but it must do.

It is early morning in the Bay, when you settle your affairs. It is early morning, when a Dragon approaches behind you.

>Attack him. While you hold no particular hate for the ABB, where was he when the Empire attacked?
>You will speak with him. For through allying with him, is your vengeance secured.
>>
>>4812332
>Speak with him, but demand where he was. Demand why the empire was allowed to strike so freely and why he hadn't eradicated them yet.

Lung is powerful and a man who rules through fear and respect. But if he is coming to speak with us, then he can brook some accusation from us.
Wouldn't recommend attacking him though. It will take a lot longer than Hookwolf to die and nessecitate that we stay in the real world since his flame immunity will persist as long as his body does.
Though if he wants to make an impact, or wants us to demonstrate our power, I don't see why we couldn't offer him a ride back to his part of town.
