For generations the Great Steppe has been at war among countless peoples and magics. No more. The great uruz Khan ahs unified the land into a mighty Empire that shall expand the world over.

You are a humble member of this massive state, and soon you shall rise to glory or infamy, in the Khan Quest

Choose your background

>Warrior
You are a staunch battler in the armies of the Khan, mixing your natural abilities of illusion with trained martial skill.

>Nomad
A civilian, you have journeyed through the Khanate with no alliegence but your own, your past a mystery to all but you.

>Cultist
You are a member of an Oni cult, leading your small band of non-Oni worshippers and slaves in the scheming Oni political world of back stabbing and crime

Another morning wakes you from a blessed slumber. You fly up to your loft and begin the process of magically infusing the ignots for today's batch of goods.

From this height you see a detachment of Khan Soldiers. 10 in total, you haven't seen a force this large in Be-Dol since the invasion.
Flying down to greet them your horns go stiff at the sight of the drawn arrows.

"Halt! Beast!" Yelled the commaner

"Beast is not my name."

"You say that as if I care. You are this town's blacksmith, are you not?"

"I am?"

The commander takes out a rake, one of yours, infused with enough permanence magic to not dull for 50 years, well- 50 years assuming the sharecropper using it never got to far from the leyline, which is safe bet given most died in the same block they were born.

The commander notices you starring down the object and grins.

"I see you recognize your work. The Great Khanate shall see you arm our soldiers for the glory of Uruz."

With that name spoken the entire battalion stands in salute with a rhymtic grunt.

Your response:

>I don't sell to the empire.

>I don't make weapons.

When they ask for your services, you flashback to the day of the invasion, the cries of screaming children, the rivers of blood. You know what these people will use your weapons for.

"I don't sell to the empire."

The Soldier's are taken aback by your defiance, as if you saying no shocked them more than your wings, horns and purple skin.

"That was not a request. You WILL serve the Khan, as we all do." As the commander speaks several spears are aimed at you.

You:

As long as you vote. I will post.

"Think, what reason do you have to fight me. Do you really want to die so some man you never met can get rich by killing children?"

Your question is answered by an arrow volley. Lucky for you your illusions meant they only hit the grass. You fly towards a spearman lift him into the air and drop him to the ground. You hear his legs break. You hear the whistle of another arrow behind your back and doge it, swooping down to take out an archer before crashing into the dirt. While stunned, a spear is stabbed into the joint of your right wing.

"Not the only one with illusions little beast" The Commander says, next to him you see the telltale red glow of an illusionist.

You stand up and headbutt the spearman with your horns, bleeding him in the chest, but behind you one of the soldiers wraps a rope around your neck, she pulls you down as the others kick your viciously.
The soldier lets you loose and you crawl to your knees, only for the group to hold you down, raise up a sword and cut your left wing clean off. You scream in pain long enough to distract you from the pain of the right wing following it.

The last thing you see before you pass out is the commander's sick grin.

----

You wake up in a cart, chained to a wall. You can tell by the aching bumps in your back that you are moving, your night vision let you see another prisoner next to you.

"I see you're awake. Didn't figure the KKhan would have much trouble with Oni."

"Where are they taking us"

"Best guess is some prison to torture us, the only reason they would keep us alive. I'm from the West Qi-Fu resistance, they'll want to know what I know. You?

"Blacksmith. They wanted me to make weapons for them."

"An enemy of the Khan I see?"

"I've just seen enough killing for one life."

"Well that's a shame, I was hoping you could do me a favor."

"What?"

"I was a scholar, not a soldier, what I saw them do the temple... I know I would break if they got ahold of me. Please, for the sake of freedom, you have to kill me, they can't know what I know."

"I'm not killing you, I don't do that."

"Please, you don't know what they'll do to me, the things they made me see what they made me do... I can't..."

The scholar break down in tears. You look down at him

Outside the gauds here a snap, they walk in and see you over the other prisoner's body tears in your eyes.

"You just love giving me trouble don't you," The commander says.

He gets behind you, kneels you down, and presses hard into the wounds on your back.

"You know, I didn't want to overindulge, but I think you'll want to see this."

he drags you out and you see the farmland you often sold your wares to. Their crops lay glowing in flames and several peasants lay dying in the field.

"This is the fate of all who oppose the Khan, hopefully, this will educate you to be more ... behaved."

You travel for several knights until you enter what used to be the Ni-Jeong Dynasty. You see several ghost towns as you pass deeper into Khan holdings. Finally, you cross a hill and see a massive camp its largest tent bearing the Tangha of Nizha Khan. Stopping at the entrance, the Camp's borderguard inspects you.

"By the Dragon's Balls, Bori, what did you get into this time?"

"I got the Devil's Hammer everyone was talking about, I'll make fire rider for sure after this."

"Don't fire riders have to actually be GOOD at riding."

"Watch it halfbreed, or I'll have you sent to the slave pits with your father."

You sense the tension between the guards as the one at the gate looks at you with a tinge of pity.

"You've crippled the poor thing, at least take the chains off. You'll behave, right"

>Agree to be calm.

You spit in the face of the half-elf and yell!

" If we were in Qi-Fu I would have you boiled alive and fed to the Fearroaches, you would scream so loud your children would inherit the polyps!"

The Guard gives you a wry grin and says

"I'll take it from here."

"Nanil, I swear if you fuck me over here..."

"Hey, remember whose in charge hear, now why don't you go hunt us an Oozestadon or something, Outtenteer."

Bori stares down Nanil but just walks off.

Nanil grabs you by your shackled hands and walls you through the tent city. You see countless slaves and warriors of many races as you wind through the makeshift streets. You are taken to the large tent at the center where Nanil looks at an older woman with two curved bone blades strapped to her back. She bears the dark skin of a Kazai tribe member.

"I'm here to present a captive of value to the Khan."

You are taken to an ornate tent, gold and furs from all across the empire sourrund you as rare inces fills your lungs. Richely adorned attendants surround a throne of gilded pillows covered by a curtain, You are forced to kneel down as the curtains part... to reveal a 15 year old boy.

He is Qoktengal, the same race as the Great Khan, but bears no marks of a warrior or mage. He looks at you with a fix of concern and nervousness.

Nanil kneels and addresses the boy

"Nizha Khan, I present to you the Blacksmith from the East. They refused to make weapons for our armies and was punished."

The boy looks at your backholes exposed by your kneeling and grimaces.

The Kazai Woman with the swords gives an obvious snear while the boy cant see her.

>>
>>4818908
"I have been maimed, my people have been slaughtered, and you ask me if I am in pain?

Your anger instinctively brings up an illusion around you, your face forming a terrifying visage akin to your demonic ancestors.

The Boy Khan stands back in shock while the Kazai woman draws her blade. It glows purple as several blades of grass grow from the ground and bind you tightly.

"Stop!" Yelled Nizha Khan.

"Release her."

"I am a Fire Rider, boy, I don't take order from the Great Khan himself, let alone you."

"You don't take my orders, but you do take my payment. Now release the Oni, Yoruka"

The woman sheathes her sword and the grass hangs limply off her.

"Nanil, has the smith's tent been completed?"

"It has my Khan."

"Then see the Oni to a medic and have them rested in the quarters. We will speak of their assignments later.

"Will you at least let me mark them, Khan. With those Illusions, it can cause all sorts of trouble."

The Khan hesitates then agrees.

Yoruka walks over to you pulls out her other sword then sprinkles dust from the ground on it. It glows black and then she blows it right in your face. You caught profusely as she looks on with sadistic glee.

"Those spores will grow through your entire lungs within a day...unless *I* tell them not to. So behave now, little pet."

The Khan speaks as your eyes water.

"Nanil, what of the West Qi-Fu rebel captured."

"It seems they were killed in a conflict with the Oni in the transport. I advise Bori to be disciplined for his failure..."

'Seems your new toy isn't so nice after all." Yoruka grins at the Khan. She smiles at you as Nanileescorts you to the smith's Tent.

---

At the tent you see a variety of smithing equipment, it is advanced but clearly installed by people who had little idea what they were doing. A medic tends to your back wounds; she is a Qi-Fu woman, marked with a slave brand.

"I have never seen one of your kind brutalized so."

"Do your patients usually like being insulted?"

"I am sorry, in the oldland, I only knew Oni as powerful Gangsters and Priests, how did they ever come to capture you?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

"I killed him."

The woman looks at you with a blank expression. Then stabs a medical tool towards your eye.

You instinctively make an illusionary face that startles her. You both drop to the ground, you on your still wounded back. While you wince in pain she goes to stab you again but you grab her wrists.

"He.... asked...me to do it."

"Monster! She yelled while pushing down."
Usually you would use your wings as leverage to push her off you, but that isn't working. In desperation, you channel Permenance mage into the womans wrists. Their muscles seize in place and she drops the medical probe.

You sigh and stand up, breathing heavy from the sand of the floor getting into your wing holes.

"That really hurt, lady!"

"You deserve a thousand times more, demon."

Spoiler is just my complaints nothing important
Tbh this whole quest is a shity railroad, QM forgot his promise about martial arts and just brushed off all the fighting to lock the mc as a retard cripple with rage issues.

Really OP, your version of telling the truth to a woman asking about someone from her country most likely someone she cares about, is just telling her "i killed him" with no context???
This could have phrased way better like "he asked us with tears in his eyes that we had to help him because the info he knew would put in danger the qifu resistance and he knew he would break under torture so even if we didn't want to do it we agreed to his demand of killing him just for the sake of helping him protect his people and the resistance" or some shit like that or just tell her "he killed himself(by asking us to kill him), something about protecting the resistance" if you wanted it to be short[\spoiler]
>>
>>4825353
To continue the trend

I noticed this severe lack of tact earlier with the soldiers. and again with answering "was anyone else caught" with "I killed him. Which come to think of it, is a rather strange thing that would make the woman go beserk. Unless she knew everyone in Qi-Fu, there's a good chance that it was some rando rather than a loved one.
>>
>>4825367

Now that i think about it the most logical follow up would be to either describe the dude to her and give her the bad news in a tactful manner or ask her who is she looking for etc
And her reaction is also exaggerated unless she knew we came in the same slave cart her loved one was in somehow[\spoiler]

"He was in the West Qi-Fu resistance, he was afraid he would break under torture so he asked me to kill him."

The woman yells at you

'Pie-Mei would never betray us!"

You kneel down before the woman.

"You're in the resistance? Do you know anyway to stop these spores, the ones the Kazai woman used?"

"I've lived in Qi-Fu long enough to never trust an Oni."

"Are you kidding me! If I wanted you would be dead or strung up by those guards . Look at me!"
You turn to show your scars

"Do you really think I'm on their side?"

"I'm Fungo, and you are?"

The woman hesitates before speaking

"Mei- Loq."

"Interesting name"

"My father was Temegal, a Horselord from the days before the Khan's butchery."

"Look, I know you're torn up, but if you help me out, I can get you out of here, an illusion would let your scape."

She spits at you

"As if I would ever sell myself to your kind."

"Look, your man WANTED to die, I spared him from something far worse, I know you're not gonna like me bit if we want to make this work we have to work together!"

Your shouting attracts Nanil.

"I see you are awake."

You both stare daggers at the gaurd.

"Look, I know how hard it is at first, but trust me you can make the Khanate work for you. Look at this"
Nanil takes off his shirt and shows an inractae series of tribal tattoos.

"These are slave brands, I was bought and sold in the northwest, when the Khanate came, I was offered the chance to earn my place in life. Elf, Oni, Human, Ogre all are equal under the Khan's vision with skill and worth anything is possible."

Nanil turns to the smith equipment.

"I saw one of your pieces a while ago, it was marvelous. That's why I requested a party search for you, I am sorry Bori was such a savage, but his kind are better suited for base butchery, he is an outtenter, left far away from civilized affairs."

"But us, healers, crafters, diplomats, we are the elite of this Empire. I pushed Kazai Khan to ease on you because I know with your skills we can over throw the failed and crime ridden land of Qifu in favor of a better way.

"They took my wings."

"And with the Khanate, you can take a world."
Nanil walks off. I'll let you sleep on it.

Over time your scars heal and you and May-Loq share stories about your time in Qi-Fu, her tales of the savagery of Oni Gangs makes you cringe when thinking of your past...

What was your background in Qi-Fu?

"You're not the only one who suffered under the Oni" you say to her.

"So what did you think of Nanil's speech?"

"He is a bloodbath, chasing the fattest ox to feed on. I am loyal to my nation and will see it free from the Khan and Oni both.

You spend hours forging a new weapon as the spores spread further and further into your chest. Each night Yoruka comes to check your progress before making the spores retreat. You are wise enough to make the individual pieces of your weapon look like simple tools . She ironically tortures you each time for not making the instruments of death she asked for.
Finally the day comes where you are to present your tools for inspection. Yoruka and Nanil arrive. But for some reason May is brought with him, a sword to her throat.

"Hello my little criple, it seem we found your favorite toy." Yoruka says.

"Just go along with this and there will be a minimum of pain ."

I'm content to call their bluffs, because frankly giving an inch and them taking a mile is beginning to get tiresome. You pick up what looks like a simple farmer's trowl before folding out its prongs into a sai, you flourish it before stabbing it straight through your tent wall.

"If you go out and look that either embedded in someone or a rock, either way not a dent on it." Your Khanate uses illusion magic but it has no sense of subterfuge, brutal violence and threats arent the only way to get what you want.

Yoruka seems satisfied and lets May go.

"Well try these out on the frontlines. Depending on how they do we'll see what we'll do with you."
Yoruka walks out the tent and Nanil follows, before he goes he gives a "thank you."

You attend to May who only stares at you with tears in her eyes.

"Why did you do that?!"

"They were going to kill you."

What do you think they'll do with the weapons you made them. One life means nothing they will kill HUNDREDS.

"I'm not here to fight in your war, YOU chose not to tell me about your resistance remember. So unless you want to start spilling secrets you do NOT get to to tell me how I handle myself."

May sits in silence.

"We met in Spring...."

"We used to have festivals for the harvest but the Dragonblight had made them worse and worse. But still we scraped together enough fruit for a stall and then I saw him, ranting and raving with pamphlets like some sort of Xexe addict."

'He showed me we could be more than just peasants and farmers, slavers and wives, we could free our nation." "And I WILL free Qi-Fu."

She looks at you before asking a Guard to be taken to her quarters.

"Those enough secrets for you."

You lay at your smith station and ponder what step to take next

>Try to get May to tell you more about the Resistance
>Ask to talk to Nanil
>Design a weapon for your personal use
>Try to escape

Right. We have demonstrated we are a great asset, now it is time to put our foot down and set ourselves a number of conditions. Namely, the fire rider and the Khannate are going to lay the fuck off of our case, get these spores out of our chest and let us work at our own pace to forge weapons and armour, if we know how to do that. Push them hard on this course, and make it clear that further attempted threats are going to be ignored. We will gamble with our lives and they may kill May but at that point they have lost the blacksmith they want for his crafts. I dont think they will be willing to lose us over this.

Now, if this gamble works, then we will be a slave without a ticking time bomb in their chest and it will give us both time and freedom to devise a weapon that the slaves in this camp can carry. It will be slow going, but arming them will make a break out much easier.
Even if we are not part of the resistance, there is no reason not to supply them.

You call out the nearest Guard that you want to speak to Nanil.

"I take orders from you slave." A short terror illusion got them running for Nanil anyway, though probably not under ideal circumstances.

He comes with a small platoon of troops.

"Why are you terrifying my soldiers instead of working?"

"Send them away so we can talk."

Nanil has the guards wait outside while he goes into your tent.

"You've seen what I can do, you can see intimidation doesn't work, so if you really belive in this empire, then have Yoruka get these spores out of me so I can work in peace."

"To be honest, even the Khan wouldn't go along with that. You're already doing great work as is and no one here is gonna trust a captive, especially given you'd be more than justified to kill us all once you got free."

"I can stop working"

"And then I get to suffer seeing Yoruka's bolar face when she watches you choke to death on her spores."

"You either get these spores out, or you don't have a blacksmith."

Nanil sighs slowly

"There is one way you could earn the Khan's trust. It would involve combat, what skills do you possess?"

You are trained in (you don't necessarily have to tell Nanil this)

>Way of Spirit
The First fighting style that managed to extend fighter abilities beyond biological limits. Compared to later fighting styles its quite crude, but most schools teach it first, as a basis for specialized training.

>Way of Flame
Stone and Flame are considered most pure fighting styles by people of Qi-Fu. Flame tries to put enemy at disadvantage by attacking at the same time from multiple directions, utilizing the whole body.

>Way of Stone
Tries to use battle stances to their fullest potential, always trying to stand firmly, and put the enemy off balance.

>Way of Sun

Both Sun and Moon introduce weapons to flame style. Sun focuses on honor as a way to victory and uses swords and shield, to their fullest offensive ability. Way of sun shields have reinforced, sharp edges.

>Way of Moon
Created by hobgoblins to fight more numerous opponents. It favors cunning and secrecy, teaching stealth and how to use weapons of assassins.

>Way of Iron
Created by ogres to fight their oppressors, it adapts powerstancing known Way of stone, while focusing on endurance, strength training, and killing , not defeating, the enemy.
way of the steel fist

Way of Steel Fist
>Created after Qi-fu humans were pushed from their country, it was created to protect ashort-lived human-ogre kingdom. It disregards the more barbaric ways of iron, while still building on them. Steel fist style is still lethal, because of usage of metal gloves at all times.

>Way of Harmony

Created by ogre converts, the way of harmony goes back in many ways to way of spirit. It encurages extensive fight prep, and demands total harmony with surroundings, from things like heat, to more metaphysical like animalisitc belief that everything has spirit. This way oy allows the use of spiritual energy to its fullest potential.

You think of your training in the Way of Iron, but act deftly.

"I can fight and I can deceive, that will be good enough for me."

Then come to the command tent at 8th Bell, you will be briefed.

While waiting you begin to forge something you had thought you would never use again... your armor.

When *th Bell commences you walk yourself to the Command tent, the lack of interference from the other guards highlighting Nanil's influence.

Nanil reveals an Oozeskin parchment .

"The Flow Forces have been attacking our supply runs. These cowards don't fight in open fields so horses and illusions aren't the best option we need to inject a team in a nearby village undercover, hunt them down and take them out."

"Fungo, you are more skilled in pinpoint Illusion than our magic calvary, pick out a team of three soldiers and train with them. Yoruka will be your field commander and manage your spores.

Pick three members to form your crew

>Astara the Hobgoblin
Master knifefighter, known for annoying bouts of poetry , moderately skilled in Illusion magic.

>Kulay the Oktaw Elf
Master of stealth operations. Speaks every language in the Khanate, next to no magical skill.

>Tidak of the Temengel
Master archer and axe hunter. Skileld horseback rider. Known to be a total asshole. Moderate magical skill.

>Phool, the Kanakar Goblin
Artist and diplomat, highly skilled in illusion magic with next to no combat skills.

>Frisor of Vargen
Blond hair makes her readibly identifiable as a foreigner. Master of control Magic, but this far south will weaken how much she can do.

Human-Dryad hybrid. Second best Growth Magic user on base next to Yoruka. Prone to hyper obsessive fixations and longwidned speaches.

Kulay is the obvious first choice, you wonder if he was planted as a test on you of some sort.

Astara provides solid illusion magic backed by combat skills.

Sasukae's abilities in growth magic may be useful in dealing with your spore conditions.

After picking your choices, you are placed in a command tent to debrief over the plans.

"Is this a joke?" says Kulay. "Why are we letting an outsider lead such a key mission."

"Anger is a mask envy wears best" replied Astara.

"If you wanted to worship Oni so much, you should have stayed in Qi-Fu"

"Actually, most Hobgoblin's hold a cultural resentment to Oni culture to be being direct descendants of eugenic practices Oni forced on slaves in the Celestial Empire in the early dawn age. You can sort of see this because Hobgoblin warmasks mirror..."

"Stop" You interrupt Sasukae. It's clear the Khanate wasn't giving you the best of the best to work with.

"It's three days journey to the village and we need to set up an infiltration plan, Astara, how well can you make an elf look like a Qi-Fu Human.

"Black, grey, blue, and gold, beneath the skin it's all red we hold."

"Is that a yes?"

The Hobglobin nods.

"Kulay, I am going to describe a face to Astara, they're named Pei-Mei a resistance figure.

"How do you know a resistance fighter" Kulay responded.

You ignore him and go on.

"Astara will pose as a hobgoblin who helped you escape that you want to recruit. "

"And what about us Commander Fungo?" Sasukae asked. The use of the honorific makes you cringe.

"I'm not exactly the lowest profile looking person and I won't be able to keep up an illusion as long as Astara.

"When the heart is of art, art comes from the heart."

"He's just messing with us now right?" Kulay responds.

"Anyway, I can take it from here, I locate the resistance hideout, take out the grunts, and truss up the leader for prison back here. Another one bites the dust."

You stare at Kulay just as Yoruka comes in.

"Hello cattle, so did you come up with any plans for this little excursion?"

>Explain to her your plan, you may write in any modifications to the one listed in this post.
>>
>>4833061
>Pretty much the given plan, they find the hideout and We and Yoruka act as the hammer to crush while the others act as the poision to render them vulnerable.
>Make note to Kulay that the leader dies and his head makes it back to the Khan. Pull them out, root and stem. The heads of those taken can be put in the nearest village.

Give it a touch of Khannate panache and that should disguise our covering of their information leaks with brutality. If called on it, we can give them a sneering "do you not have the stomach for it?"
We seem clever and deceptive. The others, less so.
>>
>>4833267
>>4833061
"Astara is disguising Kulay as the resistance fighter we captured. Both will scope out the town as escapees until we find the resistant nest. Then Susukae, me and you take down down the resistance with no survivors."

Yoruka steps to you and points her sword at her throat

"Ah, ah my pet, that's not your call to make. *I* decide who lives or dies in this mission.

She kneels closer and whispers in your ear. "That includes you."

She pulls back

"We ride out at sunrise, I suggest you get to know each other, but not too much. I heard Oni are barbed down there."

She walks off laughing.

"I--I heard you are to bow to show respect to an Oni of higher station"

"First of all half that stuff is written by merchants cranked out on Xexe beans, secondly even if it was true, I'm not higher than anyone, we're all slaves here.

"Oh no, sir, or ma'am or mx... or whatever you are I.."

"Sasukae, calm down, and breathe. How good are you at growth magic?"

"Pretty good,I was in the reforestation bands back home."

"Can you remove these spores."

"Oh... oh no I mean that would be against orders to do so."

Noticing an opportunity you size it.

'Were you ever explicitly ordered by a superior not to remove them"

"Welll. no I..."

"Well I, as a superior am ordering you to remove them and not tell anyone."

You loom over the dryad man and subtly increase your intimidation with mild illusions.

Sasukae holds up his hand and it glows with a black aura, you feel your lungs start to itch, and you cough.

"Oh my forests I'm sorry I didn't mean to do that."

You hawk up a fungal plug and stare daggers at him.

"Growth magic only grows, it cant really remove things, Yoruka is probably has a colony that feeds on the original that she infects you with.

You think, recognizing Qok shamans are known to use fungus to heal diseases.

"Where can we get this anti-colony?"

She probably keeps it in one of her seed pouches, or in her tent.

Kulay is woken by Sasukae's high-pitched voice and walks over to you.

"And here I thought you were just trying the ol barbs out on the kid. What are you two bloodbats chattering about."

"Need to know information about our phase of the mission, now get your knifeear ass back to bed before I put you in in it."

"Oh, you're a feisty one, maybe I'll try those barbs out after all.."

You swing a punch at the elf who dodges it , he counterstrikes at your face before smashing his hand on your harder than normal skin, before you can continue a wall of grass rises from the dirty below.

"By the Red Dragon can you animals keep your hands to yourself for one night!" Yoruka steps in and stares a death glare you look all around her to try to figure out which seed pouch has the anti-spores.

"Oh, I've been waiting for this."

She swings them at you in a rapid flurry, you raise your hand to cause an illusion but the time it takes gave her an opening to slash your left arm. She smiles a sick grin.

You bare your fangs and lunge at her , you don't have your wings but your legs still have the pulse. You land on her and bite her neck, she grabs your throat and squeezes hard until you let go. Her hand glows with black magic and your throat and lungs fill with mold until you can breathe. You roll on the floor, eyes watering until Sasukae steps in.

"Master Yoruka, we need them for the mission ."

Yoruka stand up, opens a pouch on her right pouch and dusts you with it. Her hand glows and your throat clears up.

"Good job little monster, we'll make a warrior of you yet."

Yoruka Smiles at you and walks out "Go to sleep guys, we ride in the morning."

Morning comes and you find your house carriage.

'Yoruka walks to you and tells you she will meet you there.

She moves her hands in a pattern and the glow with more and black glowing. She takes off her shoes and steps into the grass, which swirls into a vortex and grabs her feet.

Currently the plan I'm working with, which nobody else may be inclined to, is complete this mission leaving no survivors [no people to interrogate] and maybe murder the rider bitch.
At that point we have the spores gone and we can run, depending on the actions and loyalty of the team.

But if we don't kill her or are unable to, returning to camp we have more breathing room and trust enough to get rid of the spores anyway, at which point we can start supplying the resistence among the slaves with disguised weapons for armed uprising. This does involve supplying the Khannate with weapons, but them the breaks.

If you have better plans, then lets hear them.

Defense noted.

I wonder, how the fuck can we get our wings back? They have "growth" magic and are able to make plants return, but not healing magic so my assumption is that they have some distinction between animal and plant when it comes to magic. So I can see two, maybe three ways to do it;

Invent healing magic, through learning of growth magic and then experimenting on the differences between plants and animals.

Using symbiotic or parasitic plants to attatch to our scars and then using growth magic to grow out into mostly functioning prosthetic wings.

Or try and craft our own, using some matter of super metal.
>>
>>4844003
Magic ingots are a thing so i would bet that magic metal wings is the best option
>>
>>4844056
Wind magic aligned wings, maybe empowered through the chi or Qi or other NOT!magic power which we can sorta-use due to our training in the way of iron.
>>
>>4840003
"God I hate that bitch."

You say aloud as Yoruka jets off.

You go into the carriage and order Astara to ride you towards the village, you fall asleep in the cart.

You wake when you come across the village guards, both ethnic Qi-Fu. You walk in front and use illusion magic to cast a wide and intimidating Wing Space

"I a Lord Akusama of Qi-Fu, I have come with my slaves to seek out possible trade routes"

The Guards, learned as all Qi-Fu are to fear Oni, let you through without a trace.

Once in the village you and Astara use illusion magic to give you a less overt appearance. Getting you to human with your purplish skin tone is to much to ask but you manage to pass as an Elf well enough.

You pull into a back alley and have Kulay and Astara go off to seek out the resistance while you and Sasukae can be alone.

"You saw which spores she used to remove the fungus, right?"

"Yes I did, Fungo-sam... yes I did."

"Can you recreate it?"

"They seemed to be Pencilbrush Spores, I can probably harvest a culture from some local treefalls."

"Good, then I need you to find and brew me up an antidote."

You see the dryad walk off and step into the town square alone and still cloaked as an elf.

Familiarise ourselves with the towns layout, so if push comes to shove we can run, hide and ambush better than anyone else. Once we have done that.
>Seek out Yoruka

We can't kill her yet, but with the possibility of the spores being removed by Sasukae we would have the starting advantage in any combat situation following with her, since she apparently needs contact or close range to spark the spores off then when she goes to do so then there will be an opening for a kill strike as she leaves herself open, assured of the fast acting victory.

You seek out Yoruka for your debriefing, checking the layout of the village out as you go, noting good places for ambushes, illusionary combat and escape routes.

You meet Yoruka at the selected meeting place, a tavern, you find her drunk amongst several Qifu natives, hovering around an emissary of such a powerful empire.

"Hold up guys, I have a clipped bird to talk to."

She laughs while the entourage moves out.

You sit down with her and give her a dirty look. She downs her mug of Quoirag, slams it on the table then starts glowing with black magic. Her bloodshot eyes clear up and her slurred words become crisp again.

"Well that was fun, tell me, is everything in place?"

"Kulay and Astara are seeking out the resistance and Sasukae is prepping for our ambush."

"That's good, we can wait here for them and then into some fun."

"So tell me, I heard you don't like killing, you sure you can get the job done when push comes to shove?

You point to your throat

'Do I have a choice?'

"Ah, that little trick, it's a fun one you know." She leans in towards you. "In my granda's day, before the Khan, the Treants would string up deserters on a vine, stick em with vines full of sap so they don't die out, and just let them go to town. Once saw a man's eyes bleed toadstools."

"I'm not really into all the high brow stuff though, I'm fine having pets on a leash." She shows off her neck scar from when you bit her.

"Sometimes they bite back though. But we. Sorted it. Didn't we?" As she speaks she pokes your hand with her finger and grins wider and wider at you.

"What are you doing?"

"My job is to babysit a child and deal with a camp full of animals like you, I have to have fun someway. Speaking of..."

She points at a Golbin trying to get into the bar and being denied entrance.

"Let's have a party."

She walks over to the Goblin

"Hey warthog, you need to be this tall to drink."

She pulls out her sword and stabs it in front of him, it's taller than him by a head.

"Though you gobbos are kinda cute when short, want me to take some off the top."

She waves the sword at the goblin.

you:

Hmm. . Goblin, Don't give a shit about, Doesn't help us but. . .Hmm, maybe we can turn that to our advantage.
The goblin is being denied entrance by the bouncer, so lets try and antagonise them. If we can switch her attention to the bouncer or a big drunk, Yoruka could start a bar fight which we can use as a chance to fuck her ass up.
Or it may come to nothing, but there's only one way to see.

>Antagonise the bouncer "You let a woman to do your job for you? Are you going to stand there and let her one up you like that?"

You go to find the bouncer and antagonize them about letting Yoruka have her way with the goblin. The troll bouncer responds.

"I'm not fucking with the khanate" and walks off.

Yoruka is holds the goblin up by the neck and is grins at you perversely.

>Refuse to hit the Goblin
>"How are you a blood rider if your idea of fun doesn't include someone that'll fight back?"

New plan, again open to suggestions, is to get her to pick a proper play mate [which is unlikely given how much people don't fuck with the Khanate] or picks us, which we can try and pressure her to not use the spores when she starts to lose.
If that works, we can get the bar to start betting on it, which gives her the social incentive to not lose face over cheating.

"What kind of Fire Rider, fights someone who wont fight back?"

"You seem to misunderstand berryjuice. I'm not a Fire Rider because the Khan chose me."
She pulls out her sword and slits the Goblin's throat.

"I'm a Fire Rider because no one can stop me."

As the goblin bleeds out Astara and Kulay come to the door, Kulay still disguised as Pei-Mei. Kulay seems the commotion and begins to run off, you see a third person you don't recognize was with them.

>Distract her by pointing out that she just scared off the others coming to report on the mission, then when we both leave to follow, attack her as she tries to leave through the door. Her swing space is restricted and we are a martial artist, we have the advantage.

We can excuse our actions after, that it would have looked suspicious to chase down the fleeing 'civilians'. But really if we can disable and kill her now due to the element of surprise then more power to us.

>>4850494
"You fucking idiot! We're undercover and you just made a huge scene and scared off our agents!'

The only reason we're here is to test how useful you are and the way things are going, it's not that much."

The patrons are climbing out the windows after seeing the killing in front of them. Yoruka brings out her swords and steps past you towards them.

"If you want to prove yourself I suggest you follow those idots. I wanna have some fun here."

>Go after the trio.

Need the spores out of our chest before we kill her.I don't trust our odds since she keeps dodging bait.

I doubt she will ever take the bait, QM unconsciously protects her because she is op in his mind or something, good ol dice would make this quest better
>>

>Follow trio

>>4854043
Just because a character isn't retarded doesn't make them OP
>>
>>4854043
You dare presume the dice would favour us?

Oh great dice gods, thou who art in the roll bots and seeds, we pray not to smite this blasphemer for his idle words, make it not fall in a shower of critical failures, in this we give tribute for blessing!

>>4854202
To be fair, she is retarded. Just annoyingly bad at dying.
>>
>>4854251
Its funnier when the dice decides when and who gets raped

>>4854202
The no one can stop me line made me classify her as a retard with her head up her ass, and so far i think that's an accurate description
I only hope we get to torture her eventually, like getting her raped by dogs after cutting her hands , feets, nose and tongue etc so she cant escape, resist or kill herself
We will teach the khans the real meaning of cruelty
>>
>>4853579
You chase after the trio, you hear screams from the bar as you run after the three.

You remember to cast you illusion again, knowing an Oni would tip them off.

You see the three in the woods and yell for them to stop

"Pie Mie, wait up!"

Kulay knows his code name so he stops the group

"This is the contact I told you about."

The person they were chasing stops and talks.

'You were the one who saved them from the Khanate?"

"I was in the slave camps with them, we staged a riot and escaped."

"Blood was shed and then we fled" said Astara.

"An enemy of the Khan and a friend of Pie-Mei is an ally of ours. Come , the safe house is close."

You are taken to a burrow in the woods, after a password you are taken to a dugout, it reminds you of dwarven mines you saw in books.

The guards take you in through into a meeting hall. There, just as Yoruka said, you see mostly poor farmers.

A seeming leader sees you and welcomes you.

"Thanks, to the heroes who brought Pie-Mei back to us. "

A cheer is heard.

"We heard the Khan sent an agent after you, she is causing mayhem at a bar.

"We just escaped from their she is mad for blood." you replay

The leader names hiself as Mu, "We need to counterattack"

Kulay, disguised as Pie-Mei responds "There is no way we can defeat her, she is too strong."

>Encourage the rebellion to attack Yoruka
>Agree with Kulay, she is too strong.
>>
>>4855770
>Encourage the Rebellion to attack Yoruka
>"But we can defeat her, if we can lure her into a trap. She quarreled with me and several others promising death. If I were to return and confront her I could lure her to a spot for you to all ambush her and we remove one of the lieutenants of Kazai Khan, a great step to freeing this region!"

If we inform them about her skills, namely growing magic then they should be able to come up with a decoy location, like a mine, where their magic would be ineffective and a cave in would crush her.
Perhaps have their entire fighting force inside a cave which can be rigged to blow/collapse and after we lead Yoruka into it and she goes ham on the fighting forces we draw back and collapse the whole thing to kill them all?

Or perhaps it's just a cobbled courtyard and they bumrush her, giving us the time and opportunity to strike her down in the thick of it.

either way, the end result is her dead, most of the farmers dead and we can clean up the last of them, returning to the Khan camp a trusted asset [if we desire more coldblooded and complete revenge] or run free [with our spores removed]

Yoruka is a master of Growth Magic, but if we all team up at once we can beat here.

Kulay follows your lead and replies in character

"Is there anywhere here without much vegetation? It would make her far less dangerous."

Mu replies

"There is an old quarry in the eat of the village, we can set up am ambush their."

"Which means our fate, is to be bait." Astara rhymes.

"We can have our fastest and most skilled combatants take her on and lead her to the quarry." Mu says

>Have actual members of the resistance go with you to bait in Yoruka

>Ask to only go with Astara and the disguised Kulay (your team)
>>

>Have only our team.

I expect some questions from Kulay. Let's hope he buys what we are selling.

Yes

"We all have experience with the Khanate, we three should go alone."

'With just Pie Mei?"

Kulay chimes in "It's fine, Mu, I trust these people with my life."

"Bonds forged in blood are beyond all judge...meant"

The farmers cringe at Astara's forced rhyme.

Thru the night you prep the ambush and you three head off to find Yoruka

"Nice move, Fungo, gues that Oni sense of deception is good for something."

'Shut the fuck up Kulay."

"Hey , I'm complimenting you, when Yoruka kills all those peasants I'm sure you'll get promoted all the way from punching bag to useful pet."

You walk to the now burnt down bar, and see Yoruka dead drunk amonst the ruins.

"With plants and bark, how did a flame start?" Astara asks.

"Oh hey if it isn't my SECRET team. One minute..."

Yoruka drunkenly makes the hand movements to grow past her drunkenness but is so hammered she is taking longer than last time.

>Let her finish and sober up.

>Attack Yoruka

>Attack Kulay

>Run Away
>>
>>4859327
>>Attack Yoruka
>>
>>4859327
>Strike her across the face
"Did that help?"
>>
>>4859436
You stand still at the crossroads. Brooding on your life as a slave, at your torment. You see the smirking drunken face of your oppressor and are filled with a lust for freedom.

You lung at her before she can finish her hand signs and punch her in the face so hard she loses several teeth.

From behind you, you hear Kulay jump at you with a dagger. You stand up into a power stance to block his strike.

"Knew you had it in you wine glass. I was just waiting for the day I could cut you up."

You lock arms as he tries to push his dagger into your flesh, until your think!

"Astara, its time for plan orange!"

Kulay screams "You scaley turd, you betrayed me too?!"

"I swear by the gods eyes, what they speak are lies."

Astara's distraction causes the illusion on Kulay to fail. Kulay, distracted by his dagger hand suddenly shifting size, gives you a second long opertuntiy to break his hold and stab him in the shoulder.

He falls down in pain, you swing a kick and cave his face halfway in. He sputters blood as he groans on the floor.

Astara sees this violence and runs off.

>Talk to Yoruka

>Talk to Kulay

>Chase after Astara

>Look for Sasukae

>Run Away
>>
>>4861576
Yoruka is down? OH YEAH!

>Go for the kill
If she's down and Kulay is missing half his face, preventing her from healing up means that a kill shot is massively possible.
She only managed to stop us off when she was sober, Kill her now!

Astara will need to be dealt with after, maybe assauged but that doesn't matter. we can kill Yoruka. We can kill that bitch.
>>
>>4862237
Yes yes this
>>
>>4862237
Just literally impale her throat or something and desecrate her bottom holes before she loses conciousness asap
>>
>>4861576
You walk to Kulay and pick up his dagger. You then grab the drunken and beaten Yoruka by the shoulders and point the dagger at her chest.

"Hope you don't have trouble breathing."

You punture both her lungs. She falls to the ground gasping for breath as she slowly aphyxiataes. She failed her arms wildly as she tries to make the hand gestures to heal, but you hold them steady as you look into her eyes. She takes quite a while to die, and you savor every moment.

You turn around and look at Kulay, still incapacitated on the ground.

"Cough-You crazy Oni , the Khanate will have your head for this."

>Interrogate Kulay (write-in questions)
>>
>>4863603
I think we should literally cut her head off and destroy her brain, not for being sadistic, but I'm not familiar with this magic system and she could be revived as an undead or something heck who knows if there is time magic

> Make sure yoruka stays dead and loot all her belongings clothes etc, they might be worth something

I dont think we have time for interrogations but If it is mandatory then
>Get info on their plans(meet up places, escape routes etc) in case you went rogue, say it was personal with yoruka and that you wont kill him if he speaks, then kill him

Next we should kill astara and/or find sasukae make him cure us
>>
>>4863603
>Only one question Elf. Who's going to have my head, if there are no witnesses?

>Kill him, Remove Yoruka's head, get the poutch on her right side and get rid of these spores.

Next we will need to need to tell the patrons that should they report this, the Khan will have the village burned and all of them raped and tortured, so keep their traps shut.
Then we can hunt down Astara. She will listen to our proposition or she will be cut down after.

Once she is dealt with, we will need to kill the rebels to establish our cover and deal with Sasukae.
This is assuming we don't want to go on the run and instead return to the Khannate as a trusted subordinate to further sow chaos.
>>
>>4863986
to deal with the rebels, take Yoruka's sword and her head as proof. They will throw a celebration and go to sleep happy, where we can start slitting throats.
>>
>>4863986
Idk but going back to the khanate sounds like a good way of getting butt raped AGAIN, and the resistance looks too unorganized to be trustworthy,
>>
>>4864860
Hmm, the only resistence we know of here is Pei may and these piss poor farmers.

There are likely going to be more organised resistances going around, but it's really a question of how cold we want our revenge and how much we want to just get out of here.
>>
>>4863603
You walk over to Kulay and pick up his bruised and bloody head.

"What were the plans for if I went rouge."

He spits blood on you in response.

You turn his head and show him the corpse of Yoruka.

'I can kill you quick or you can go out like her. Your choice."]

A look of pure terror fills Kulay's face until he responds.

"Plans? You knew who was in charge She had smacked you around so many times she thought she could handle you."

"And hows that going for her?"

You cave in his skull with a stomp of your boots.

You Raid Yoruka's crpse for spores and seeds, just as Mu and several members of the resistance show up and see the carnage before you.

>Attempt to talk.

>Run.

>Attack them.
>>
>>4868404
>"Sorry for not waiting for you, but she was apparently drunk and unguarded. Too good an opportunity to miss.
But I got separated from my ally [Whatever name for Astara we gave them] We need to make sure she is safe. Whoever saw where she went, help me find her while the rest of you get rid of this body before the Khannate notices."

Give them quick commands to distract them, hopefully they should follow them without much griping. Use that right hand spore pocket and get rid of our lung disease.
>>
>>4868415
No wait, they don't know us as an Oni.
Fuck.

Scrap that, Just run after Astara, Say nothing and we can hunt down that knife using Elf.
>>
>>4868404
So can we take this as a confirmation that we dont need to pulp her head to stop her from reviving or someone else taking info out of her brain? If not just pulp her head or something asap
>>4868417
This but keep looting her body if we didn't finish yet and just say "Forget me but remember No mercy to the khans" before running away.
>>
>>4869524
We took the Spores and some seeds.
I think we can take her blades if we wanted.
>>
>>4868404
You are caught mid looting as the Resistance members see you with Yoruka's corpse. You pick her body up, tell them

"Fuck the Khan"

and run off into the night.

You stop in the woods and have time to loot Yoruka completely. You take her swords (though you arent trained on how to use them) and make sure to get Yoruka's antitode pouch. Yoruka may not be able to grow the spores, but they can still spread on their own.

Speaking of, you wonder if yous should touch base with Sasukae or instead hunt after Astara. While you are thinking you squish Yoruka's head to ground meat. It's pretty fun.

>Look for Sasukae

Recalling what you learned of the town you cast an illusion of yourself as a Qifu human and rush to where Astara would most likely flee.

You arrive where you parked your cart and find it gone, the tracks leading out of town. You do notice a shuang beetle left unattended, most likely due to its owner dying at the bar earlier

>Leave town on the Beatle

>Look for Sasukae
>>

Maybe we should search for sasukae but the Beatle tho
>Leave town on the Beatle

Seeing a chance to make an escape you grab the Beatle and ride it out of town. It handles likes the beetles of your youth but it is clearly more well-fed than the scrappy beats you are used to back home.

Once you exist town you must decide which way to go

>West

This will take you towards Nizha Khan's camp and deeper into Khanate Territory

>East

This will take you back towards your village and into Qi-Fu proper

>South

This will take you towards the Zephyr Mountains, known for goblin and human cavemen, hobgoblin samurai and Vampire counts.

>North

This will take you into West Qi-Fu, frontlines of the wat between Qi-Fu and the Khanate
>>
>>4871790
Which way is Astra fleeing too?
>>
>>4871868
The tracks led South
>>
>>4871884
So she isn't returning to the Khannate.

Hmm, I don't actually see any reason to hunt her down then. Riiiiiiiiiight, I propose a new plan, Get Sasukae and see if they are willing to defect with us. I don't feel like any further revenge would do us more good than harm.

But after getting her answer, we should head South.
Mountains deter massive amounts of persuit and are a host of enviromental kill kit.
>>
>>4871896
Totally this, killing yoruka should be a good enough blow to the khans right now

>Go back

We have illusions, this will be fine.
>>
You cast an illusion on yourself and trek back to the village.

You park your Beatle in the woods fo avoid its proper owner taking it. If they are still alive.

You meet Sasukae in the rendeveuz point. They are sitting in the woods, roots feeding off the soil in a mediatative trance.

The see you and wake starteled.

"Fungo-Sama! You live!"

They reach for a hug and pull back when they see your body language.

You pass him the attitude spores you took from Yoruka.

"Yoruka is dead."

You leave out HOW she died in case the Treant still holds any loyalty to the Khanate.

The Treant takes the antidote spores and fills them in your lungs you feel the itch totally dissipate.

Now that you are alone in the forest, what do you do?

>Head back into the town

This will take you towards Nizha Khan's camp and deeper into Khanate Territory

This will take you back towards your village and into Qi-Fu proper

Also QM, is losing yoruka a blow to he khans or not?

She was a fire rider.
Using the context of a previous thread which spawned this one, and her position as bodyguard and one man's great aspiration to be one as a reward, they are well respected and powerful warriors who ride something like dragons?

That sort of thing will probably be a good blow to the little Khan. Our loss is. . Likewise, painful.
But they have the designs for the trowel weapon
>>

>Fire Riders

A title bestowed by the Uruzataar Khan, they are people who have reached the pinnacle of cavalry and riding. Legends has it that the Fire Riders can ride almost anything with ease, be they horse, giant lions, bloodoxen, even skywhales; that they can push their steed into higher levels of speed, endurance, and/or ferocity; that they can easily stand, fight, or sleep atop their steed and still control it. Many of these Fire Riders are employed by the Khan as his personal bodyguard, although there are those who prefer the shepherding life. Legend has it that one such Fire Rider refused riches from their Khan because she enjoyed riding too much, and was captured by the Khan. She found a rat in her cell and proceeded to ride said rat through the bars of her dungeon cell, and managed to run laps around the thoroughly bemused Khan's throne room. Suffice to say, that Khans from then on never forced servitude upon Fire Riders - merely asked for it.

The current Fire Riders exist through the Khanate as a mix of elite shock troops, bodyguards, bounty hunters, mounted paladins and guardians of towns. As each is nominally independent from the usual power structures of the Khanate, each’s mandate and mission is as unique as the rider.
