You are Kolinasi Keiko Whatiri.

You have won your first real battle, fought against both Ganth and Drukhari.

Now you are taking your- surprisingly to you- small warp ship to a planet called Nuceria.

Unknown to you, the home of the Primarch of the Twelfth Legion, Angron.

Your new friend, crewmate, rebellion starter and all around troublemaker has given you advice on approaching this planet, but you think you have a better strategy.

“Charon, if you prefer I have a different idea and I want your opinion.” You say and Frank looks at you strangely.

“Of Course Friend.” Charon says.

“Are there any active rebel groups on the planet’s surface that we can make contact with that would likely aid us? Make our fight easier?” You ask and Charon smiles.

“I was wondering if you any of you would ever ask!” Charon says.

“There have been many gladiator revolts on the planet, they happen every so often, the planet is used to it by now. However, one of my old friends, before I was taken by the Ganth, began training with someone. Someone who held very strong anti government sentiments.” Charon then gives a different look.

“He was tall. He was strong. Bigger than any many before. He had supposedly supernatural talents and was a paragon on the battlefield. And.” Charon pauses again fro dramatic effect and looks at your family then to you.

“Looked somewhat familiar to me, when I met you.” He says.

“What?” You let out quickly and surprised. You know there were other pods, but, if one of your brothers survived, much less landed on Nuceria- this is incredibly fortunate indeed. Frank looks shocked then twitches his nose.

“You knew. You knew the second you saw him. I knew I smelled a ploy. Alright. So say this other relative of Kolinasi, what are the chances he would be willing to help?” Frank says.
>>

“So long, as they haven’t put the nails or the collar, and haven’t done any surgery- he would probably be more than happy to. If the Nails are in- there are some guides on planet on how to remove them, but that is for normal people. Kolinasi, no offense to you- but you are not a baseline human in any sense of the immagination. Something like the butchers nails would likely be fatal unless removed incredibly shortly after by a good surgeon with a strong technological background or if they were accidentally installed inert. Even then, both would require surgery, and something that could print brain matter or entire rewriting and reprogramming and tweaking of the butchers nails so it doesn’t do what it does.” Charon speaks and he looks as if he has had to deal with this before.

“You mean, they have done this on the ganth or non humans?” You say.

“Kolinasi- the nails, hope that my contact doesn’t have them installed, they can be impossible to remove even for a normal human. That is also us getting ahead of ourselves.” Charon says.

“We would have to infiltrate one of the most populated cities, at night or early morning and- release a bunch of gladiators without permission. I know that you have powerful abilities with machines, but some of these things are just dummy locks. I don’t know how you plan to-” And Meera raises her hand

“I made weapons for this. We have a gun that will just melt the locks off really quick.” Meera says.

“I assume, I can probably help too.” Lancer, your new knight pilot friend says.

“Well yeah. Duh. A knight can probably take care of most of the problems.” Frank points out causing your uncle and cousin to laugh.

“Yes, your help is appreciated of course.” You say and Lancer laughs a little.

“So, what. We let out the Gladiators, make contact with more rebels, then we what- say we start up this rebellion get the intelligence we need, how can we insure that the rebels keep winning?” Frank says, clearly having thought this through.

“We have plenty of guns.” Delia says

“So do the High Riders.” He says back.

“I can crush most the resistance with the knight…” Lancer says

“Meet the new boss same as the old boss, a knight lancer can probably knock out the capital alone and cause chaos but it may make it seem like a sponsored coup- so we can’t just leave you there to do it.” Frank says. And his points are valid.

“Charon is a local. He can help and stay behind with the rebellion, and if we steal another ship and just leave the sub here as an orbital deterrent it would be too small to be seen or detected. It could also rain down punishment on the high riders. Furthermore, Meera installed a comms jamming unit in the sub. So if they try to communicate in system we can deal with it.” You say.

“It could work, but we still have to deal with astropaths.” Frank says and Charon grins.

“What if I told you the planet keeps all the Astropaths in the same city.” Charon says.

“That would be incompetent beyond words. Nobody would be that stupid.” Frank says.

“The Ganth, the only outside trade line to them are. They have all their astropaths on the same city, and ironically, it’s the same city where they are holding our man.” Charon says to Frank who raises his eyebrows

“I say that would be criminal amounts of stupidity or incredible fortune.” Frank says.

“So, we free the main source of the rebellion, arm them, deal with the astropaths and deal with the slavers.” You say and Frank nods

“To make this work we will need a small team to scout ahead. Even though we could use the teleportarium to get down there, I think it will be easier to use the sub then using it multiple times.” Frank says.

“Right. It’s settled then. We have little time to prepare, I will inform Jera.” You say. It takes you a little while to inform Jera.

You are incredibly excited. If Charon was correct, that you had a brother, this was important. This is an important moment in your life.

Your father and mother took care of you. Family has meant so much to you, and finally you get to meet one of your brothers, someone like you.

What do you do Kolinasi?

Pick out two.

>> Pick out a weapon to give him as a gift from your arsenal. If he is a gladiator, it may come in handy.

>> Write a song. It’s something of your culture, to write songs for things like this. And the crew likes your singing, and you have some reason to sing.

>> Try to find a book that he may like, you got so many of them. Maybe that old poetry book.

>> Build him something. Maybe a surfboard.

>> Try to do find something he may like food wise, prepare to make him a good meal.

>> Make sure to learn more about him from Charon, you aren’t sure it really is him, but maybe Charon knows more he could tell you.

>> Talk to your uncle, he may know a bit on what to get a long lost family member.

>> Talk to Jera, he always has solid advice on gifting.

Are we going to use the EMP to turn off the planet's power grid, or does that come after we free our brother from jail and arm his resistance?
And Frank, this is a sponsored coup, just in this case Angron are the rebels, and we are the CIA.

Also I hope that you all like the header for this chapter. Next time, I will try to have the Tiki word art, or maybe go back to the crossbones.

As for the tactics

They will be elaborated on, and you will be able to do them as voted fit.

I am mostly worried about song writing, though it is something I can pull.

It's nice.
Tikis are cool. Actuallyz totems in general look cool.
The main reason I like the word art is because it has been a staple, and has the name of the quest on it.
Don't worry too much about the song, you've done great with the poems and hakas.

Tat idea for Angron

Hmm. Maybe not something that reminds him of his slave days.

What about something that incorporates the scar pattern of the gladiators he wears? Unbreakable.
>>
Not gonna lie, kind of looking forward to introducing pre-nails Angron to our mom at some point.

Dude was made to be extreamly empathetic, and shes a kind woman, very likely to end up with the "sit down and let me feed you" experience.

I think he already has the nails, but probably freshly installed, and not the collar.
Which means we must ask doctor shaman on how to print brain matter, he shoukd know. If not, the uploaded scientist might have an idea
>>
>>4888097
We may be able to do something with our techno-powers as well.
>>
>>4888098
We also have studied a bit of medicine.
We are not even close to brain surgery level, but we should be able to understand the old man's instructions, and knows how to hold a scapel.
Worst case scenario, we end up lobotomizing him a bit until we can drag Angron back to De'Lormosa where we someone else can finish the surgery properly.
>>
>>4888098
Tehnopathy is or best bet. Primarch physiology is weird without considerable understanding. So even just reducing the effects of the Nails would be a godsend
>>
>>4888097
If he is of a simular age to us, then theoretically they shouldn't have installed them yet, waiting for him to grow to his full size before doing so (theyde be able to tell hes not done growing).

Though if someone knows tha canon timeline for them feel free to say. Ill just hold out hope.

From the wiki
Reaping many victories, Angron soon became a fan-favorite of Desh'ea and came to be known as "The Unbeaten." Although he seemed to enjoy the life of a gladiator and the adulation of the Desh'ean crowds, Angron secretly resented his slavery, and was always plotting to escape. He proved to be a troublesome champion, prone to escape attempts whenever he saw an occasion, but such efforts always failed.

During this time, Angron was mentored by an older gladiator named Oenomaus, who formed a deep bond with the younger gladiator and became somewhat of a father-figure to the impressionable warrior. Together, the two formidable warriors slew a deadly tally in the gladiatorial arenas of Nuceria, which culminated in an astounding victory against a pair of berserk Ogryn that were surgically equipped with the deadly cybernetic implants known as the Butcher's Nails.

Their momentous victory, however, proved short-lived as the High-Riders demanded that the two gladiators fight one another in a duel to the death. The fiery Angron refused and openly insulted his Nucerian masters. This resulted in Angron having the Butcher's Nails implanted as a form of punishment. These crude neural implants were hammered into the Primarch's skull and surgically grafted to his cerebral cortex.

So there is still a chance that Angron is free from the Nails, since the friend of Charon must be Oenomanus.
>>
>>4888192
Tge problem is that we don't know tge time frame.
We don't know when that ongryn fight since Oenomanus began training him, nor we know how long it has been since Charon has been taken by the Ganth.

You decide that your brother, deserves a weapon of his own. One worthy of a Big Man. You find that there is among the spare weapons Meera made, a mighty axe with an adriathic blaster on it. You also find that only someone around your height or larger could even use it. You do some minor tweaks to it, and check on the machine spirit. It seems eager to serve.

You hum a little tune as you go about improving and making the weapon a little bit better for your brother.

Someone you never met. Oh the possibilities! Could he surf like you? Would he know how to fish? Would he look like you? Would he be kind? Smart? How strong would he be? Could he be fast like you? What a thought! A brother and fellow 'Primarch!' As you smile you put the finishing touch on the axe and it gleams brightly the machine spirit proud. You put it in a cloth and wrap it as you hum what you think may be the basis for a song.

You go to work loading things on the Sub and Jera is running at you fast as you have ever seen him move.

“Kolinasi, we have a different window. We can theoretically get there a day faster, it would be a bit more dangerous to us, and it may signal something if we stray to close. But we could get there just a bit faster, which would give us a better window for striking at the power.” Jera says.

“If we do that we arrive tomorrow.” You say.

“Yep.” Jera says.

>> “I will be with the landing crew.” It would be a good idea to go meet the rebels, and hopefully your brother first hand

>> “I will be in the command crew.” Tempted to go meet your brother first, but this strategy requires precision.

We better arrive right before Angrin is going to be dragged into the Ogryn fight. It would be glorious.

> We learn that Angron was just taken to the labs where the Nails are implanted.
> Kolinasi leads an infiltration party to save his brother from mutilation.
> Find them positioning their tools, scant moments from dooming the Primarch to a future of madness and agony.
> EPHI INTERRUPT!
> Based murder-weasel rips out the throat of the lead surgeon while Kolinasi puts down their mind-broken cyborg bodyguards.
> Angron returns to consciousness to the sensation and sight of our blessed little cinnamon bun licking his chin, and Special K grinning ear-to-ear.
>>
>>4888595
Hope it's before he is taken to be implanted, because it means Oenomaus would also be imprisioned. They kept him right outside the surgery room so Angron would kill him right all. The High Riders are absolute cunts.

Anyway, plans for who to put in charge of the planet? I'm thinking a coalition of the middle class of the cities and a few smaller landowners of the country side.
Most of the rich and poweful would be complicit, and the poor and the gladiators would turn this into a bloodbath.

A democracy in the vein of the Greeks might work. Only those who had fought and bled, or had spent X amount of years dedicated to their craft, hold the right to vote, etc.
>>
>>4888716
The greek way is hard to define, since every city had a diferent way.
The athenian one, you just had to de free a man, who had property in the city, lived there and worked, and whoose family were residents for atleast 3 generations.
The one you described sounda more like the starship trooper service means citizenship, which was kind of a mixture of the roman and some greek system, since it has means to acquiring citizenship without military service.

These are interesting propositions!

However we still have to get that far!

Time for the last mini update before the huge write up.

"I can assist the Navigator, if that helps Jerah. But I will need to talk to her before doing this. I will go in with the landing crew, though make sure we have the fighters ready to go too." You say.

"Aye Captain. I'll meet up with you later and get the landing crew ready on the sub." He says.

You, along with Delia and Meera, the normal away landing crew has assembled, along with Jera, Yana, Gela, Rongo, and about a dozen islanders whom make this plan possible including the Old Man over the Comm.

"We are going to go over this one last time since Frank is new to our landing team and so everyone understands what is about to happen." You say motioning to Frank whom waves.

“Upon exit of the warp, once we have the planet in our site we are going to fire upon, Deshay? Deshaw? Am I sayin it right?”

“Desh’ea. It is a bit awkward for those not familiar with the local patois. I am sure your possible Brother will have a fun time saying your name.” Charon says the word naturally and it makes you wonder your wording for your and that you may have to come up with multiple new words.

“Desh’ea. This should prevent the high riders from acessing most of their technology and powers, allowing us to contact Charon’s old friend and try to establish ties with the rebellion. When we do this we will escape to the outskirts near the mountains near a good landing point for the Something Fierce. At this point we will take swift action and steal the guards weaponry and hand off some good ones we bring. At this point Gella and Yana will cooridinate some orbital attacks and fend off anyone who decides to look over here, and strike at the astropath building. When this happens, Jera will head down and land the Fierce and we will use the weapons in the armory to arm the rebels.” You say and Delia makes a loud cough.

“What about the weapons Delia?” You ask

“We have a lot. That is true. And I have field checked them. I have some concerns about our arsenal that hasn’t been brought up.” She says

“What is that?” You ask.

“They are not Ganth, the are not Drukhari.” She says

“This is bad why?” Your Uncle says and Franks eyes widen as he looks around.

“Do you have an example?” He asks and Delia tosses a pistol and Frank looks carefully and sighs.

“This is going to look- weird. If we do this we need to come back and retake the weapons, and arm them with something else.” He says.

“Again, I must ask, why?” Your uncle says begging the obvious question.

“These are weapons of the Martian Mechanicus. These weapons are stolen. And the Martian Mechanicus really does not like it when people steal their sacred machines.” Frank says

“They are at Mars. Why would they care?” Charon says.
>>
>>4889282
“Because last time I checked, they are still active in the galaxy, and they are the only people that make Titans. No offense to your Knight house, but Titan Forgeworlds are starting to move, and if they do we have no defense. That being said- The Martian Mechanicus despises the Ganth, so as far as political plays go- this could work.” Frank says.

Then the Old Man Chimes in.

“Frank lad. Kolinasi is technically Terran. He and whomever that Charon persons friend are, with Martian weapons won’t be the weirdest part.” The old man says

“No shit there. I guess that protolathe on De’lormosa is going to get it’s work in. The Martian weapons will make short work of anything the High Riders have. If we arm the gladiators with them we should be fine. So long as Terra gets here before Mars.” Frank says.

“What if they are allied?” The old man asks.

“They would be unstoppable. And it’s highly unlikely, though these rumors I have heard sound like that.” Frank says.

“So. We get in, get the rebels armed, with our Martian weapons, and then, we also let Lancer out to take care of some of the more hardened targets.” You say and Lancer nods.

“After that, we try to get some much needed supplies, and maybe take on some more crew. Then we need to go on to Olympia. I guess it’s time for any last minute checks.” You say and Frank raises his hand.

“So biologically, a good portion of the landing team is allergic to a plant on the planet know as a ragweed. However, from the biological sequencing I need to inform you that it is mostly passed along genetic lines. Which brings me to an unusual discovery, Arona and Kai. You are related”

“We already knew that.” Arona says in a tone that makes frank roll his eyes

“To Yana. Yana. Kai is your Uncle. I assume you didn’t know that seeing how you said earlier when we were talking that you lived on the Island of the Witches for all your life.” Frank says in the most graceless deadpan tone you have ever heard in your life. You actually have a sister, and she is in your Honor Guard. Oh your dad is going to be pissed that both of his children are on the same mission without him. Your cousin and Uncle excitedly and warmly go up to Yana. You look at her, and she realizes the multiple times, how you have mentioned a sister you never had a chance to meet.

They are here with you, and have been for a while. So you hug her. And you hold her in your arms for a moment as you know. It makes sense. She has many of the same skills both your mother and father have. She surfs just the same way your father does. After this brief moment of warmth Frank distributes a few bottles of pills.

“Another last minute issue is something Charon brought up.” And Frank motions over to Charon
>>
>>4889283
“Some of the guards have the Nails. You will know when you see them, they are strange metal objects that go into the skull, similar to hair and they look painful. These guards are extra dangerous. Then there is the Wolves Collar.” Charon says.

“If you are a witch. Avoid them. It will just make them angrier. It works the same way, it heightens anger, but so much more. The metal spiked collars, they protect against any psyker abilities. Those who wear them are never the same. Same with the nails. DO NOT GET CAPTURED.” Charon says incredibly loudly.

“Unless you are Kolinasi and trying to get in deeper to the complex, as that is an emergency back up plan to get us closer to the coliseum.” Frank interjects.

“Everyone make last minute prep.” Jera says and you nod to him.

“Ready to fire that big gun?” You ask

“I have been waiting to since it last got fired. Not everyday you get to fire a gun that big mate.” Jera says.

I'm gonna call that option 'trouble.' Because it's an Adriathic Blaster on A power Axe, with ClF3 Grenades. I mean, it's an anti Rangda load out for sure or going toe to toe with an Ork force, but wow.

That is a lot of danger and death right there and I like the initiative you are showing.

So it's an axe just like the one we are giving to our brother? Neat.
I picke those weapons because it would be able to deal with melee, ranged and a group, so enough firepower to deal with any threats, and all the tools we could use to clear obstacles, hence the overprepared.
Although overkill might be more apropriate now.

Also, I'm now imagining our stoat with a little backpack to carry things around.

Angron is going to be *shocked*, but in the best way.
> Kolinasi insists that he join us on De'lormosa when Nuceria is rendered free.
> His arrival coincides with Perturbo's
> He gets mothered fiercely, with lots of good-natured ribbing while the tribe kids teach Pert the ways of the surfboard
>>
I wonder how Eldra/Farseers are going to see this change concerning Angron?
>Eldrad sees a Shark (?) wreathed in clouds, rain and lightning snapping chains that would have ensnared a child as a bleeding, burning skull of Brass roars at being denied

>>
>>4890211

>>4890229
> Instead of a world clenched in fanged jaws, Angron takes as motif a sharks' mouth swallowing a pair of crossed axes; honoring both the brother who aided him in claiming his freedom and those valiant men and women who fought at his side as equals.
>>
>>4890302
Perfect
>>
>>4890369
The other idea I had was that the jaws are biting down on chains, snapping them to pieces.

The War Hounds/World Eaters don't need a slew of references to a Primarch that isn't their progenitor.
>>
>>4890439
The chains are good, specially because we have our chain breakers, with Charon as their unofiicial leader.
And one of the ideas for futures tattos is for broken chains. Maybe we could give a matching one for Angron too.

What makes me really wonder is how we should deal with Olympia. They are like greece after being conquered by Macedonia, a bunch of city states ruled thorugh military might and fear by a single Tyrant. But that tyrant is also the only thing holding it together before it explodes into civil wars and real politik against each other.
We might not be able to fund a revellion or dethroned Lochos in time. Not only that, but Pertubaro is his adopted son/war slave.
>>
>>4890452
I'm not as familiar with his origin story, except that he's supposed to have a sister.

The people of Olympia might need an ideal to rally behind, or an enemy to unify against. Maybe the Ganth and Drukhari?

The one shared purpose between Kolinasi and Angron, the tribes of De'lormosa and the uprising on Desh'ea is the downfall of slavery. We just need to find a similar tie with Perturbo and Olympia.
>>
>>4890474
He has two brother and a sister. It's just that Calliphone is the one heir that the Dammekos, the Tyrant of Lochos tought was competent, the only one that treated him well, and the person he killed in rage when Olympia rebelled.

Honestly, Pertubaro is an autist because of his father. He treated him like shit, but still loved him. Than the Emperor comes and acts the same way. No wonder Pertubaro ended up emulating that.
>>
>>4890488
Oof, that's bad. WELL! Maybe we can address some of the issues that lead to their rebellion? And...y'know, bring his dear sister along to meet new peoples and open her mind to the galaxy beyond Olympia.
>>
>>4890488
Didn't know Pert had brothers.
>>
>>4891199
They did fuck all other than bicker about being first born or being the favorite of their father, while Caliphone was the one that he actually though was worth a damn.
And it's a bit weird, since Pert can't decide if he is a vassal or a son and his father also jumped between treating him as a tool or an adopted heir. Dude also had severe trust issues due to the Eye of Terror, and not being allowed to look at it, even though that is the best way to deal with that thing, with the whole abyss stares back deal.

You decide that for this event, you need a different load out. You go in heavy and hard load out. You grab some of Meera’s Doomfire grenades ( a lot easer to say than Chlorine Triflouride) your tool kit/ info kit, blaster demo kit, med kits, and the big weapon Meera made you. You then get the pack load out for shoal stoat.

When your Shoal Stoat spots your rig, her eyes widen and she darts away. What entails is you chasing the shoal stoat throughout the ship for a few minutes and finally rigging it up. When it is finally on, she isn’t too upset but you are going to have to get something more comfy for her. You load up the gift you made for your brother and a few other in case items. When she’s loaded, she finally realizes she gets to go exploring and gets more excited.
You then after getting mostly ready you join the Navigator to assist her calculations.

“Ah so you came after all! Welcome captain!” She says and you nod. The warp, is not too bad around here, but Around Nuceria, there is an almost ominous tone. She breaks for a little, and for the first time you are navigating solo.

You guide the ship, carefully and at speed no less, through the eddies and currents are troublesome, the device, your artifical third eye works. It needs a lot of work and some bugs need to be fixed, but you can tell what you are doing.

When the Navigator comes back she is pleased with the course you chose.

“Wow. That.” She looks at you briefly and observes you through the warp

“What is it?”

“You have an actual knack for this. Like an inborn talent. Your sense of direction and, this path you chose – while unorthodox, is probably the best spot for where we need to approach from.” She says.

“Oh. I just, took what looked right.” You say.

“When people normally do that, they screw everything up and people die. You do it, and it saves time, effort and life. You shaved a few hours off, maybe even a little more.” She says still a bit shocked.

“I am going to get back to packing for this.” You say and she smiles at you as you exit her sanctum and take off the ATE. There is, what you have to guess, and have heard sailors and pirates describe as a ‘hangover’ from using it for a while. You reckon it will heal soon, but this would be fatal for a baseline human.

Then, it gets worse and you clench your fist as your ears ring loudly.

The pain from the headache alone is more grievous than any wound or scare any beast has given, and is worse than the pain from the tattoos and coals. Actually it’s like the took the burning spear and shoved it behind your eyes. But it is gone. As suddenly it came it’s gone.
>>
>>4891387
You breathe. Their is a little more left from whatever, headache it was, but you are not in as bad pain. You imagine that could have killed someone, as you are aware most humans have a pain to death tolerance, and that would have triggered it.

“olnasi” you hear

“Olnasi!” You hear again, the pain starting fade and the ear ringing now receding.

“Kolinasi!” Arona shouts at you and you turn to see your dear cousin smiling at you with your ‘battle book’ and a few things

“I am sorry Cousin. My Gadget that allows me to pilot the ship through the warp.” You barely let out before she looks at you concerned

“Let me guess it has some side effects.” She says

“Yeah.” You say

“Your mother would be beating you with that laundry club if she saw you doing that to yourself.” She says to you in the sound she normally would before ratting you out to your da, causing you to instictively look at her. She looks concerned.

“We have a navigator Kolinsai, you don’t have to push yourself! You can’t do everything, you aren’t the superman from Da’s old picture books.” She says.

“I do cuz. Someone needs to be able to do these things. I don’t go after the big fish because it’s easy. I do it because it feeds more people. If more people can navigate, we can do more.” You say getting more to your feet. She looks at you and hugs your side.

“Besides, you can’t be down before we get to meet our new family member. What do you think his name is?” She asks.

“I think it will be something Manly. Like Kai. Or Ravi. Maybe an Ari.” You say

“I think it will be something weird. Like Frank. Or Charon. Maybe a combination of both. Like a Ravigon or an Arifrank. Or maybe something like Your name, where it describes his birth.” She says being silly.

Your cousin and you make a few jokes as you get down to the hanger. The Alarm Blares. The ship is about to exit the warp, and everything is loaded. You and the assigned landing team hop in the sub, and await for the signal to go.
>>
>>4891389

“Yana. You on command sequence?”

“Check here Jera”

“Gella, you ready in that fighter?”

“Check Jera”

“Captain, you in your sub with your team?”

“Ya Jera, you got an itchy trigger finger aintcha?”

“I do.” You say as you look over the specific position highlighted by Charon on the map that has been fed to the graphic overlay on the targeter.

A gun this powerful, it doesn’t really seem too piratey. Or even Privateerish. It seems to fancy. It’s just a simple button. A gun, that can turn off power and cause damage, and it’s a button. A bright red button.

Not a lever.

Not a rope.

A plastic button. Kolinasi, you trained him good, but his aesthetic choices for pirate ships, were mostly on the practical side. Largely because he just went with what was on the ship. Save for paint jobs. The something fierce was a practical vessel. So when you see the city power center manifold you just look at it take a breath

“On my mark prepare crew to fire.” The crew does the thing where they do a slight brace due to the nature of the long gun

“Fire.” You say and push a button. The gun goes off, the ship doesn’t move but the crew needs to do a power review. The alarm goes off, and you see The Fighter Craft and Kolinasi’s sub drift off.

“Alright crew, position yourselves to ready for any incoming fire! Focus towards known location of the blockade!” You shout.

Something was wrong. Infinitely wrong. The future had changed dramatically in the blink of an eye. It couldn’t be determined if this was good or bad yet.

The Warlock’s dream. He had chose a path away from that of a full seer, he was better at war.

But the dream.

A great shark. Biting and breaking chains.

Powers denied a champion. Pieces changing. Tables turning. Things readjusting.

The future was not fixed it seemed. When he approached the ancient farseer, he nodded and looked off sagely.

Important. But what happened next?

__

The Red One Bayed.

He never liked these games. The others, they lived for them. There was no honor here. The one he wanted was taken, by a piece that nobody was sure how it got here, or this way.

This game was rigged. The Trickster. His piece was still there. So was the Perfectionist. And the Undertaker. But his piece. Taken. The available pieces did not make sense. What shadows crept a crossed the board to move things this way?

What golden light caused this earlier?

They all stared like they knew nothing.

Was this a trick?

He grabbed the edge of the board with a roar, but they held it down.

He swung at the board and the pieces were scattered.

He did not see the shadow dart off.

He did not see the light fly on by.

He raged at his lost piece.

Multiple areas present themselves to you.

>> Outskirts of town, work your way in. Shouldn’t be much trouble.

>> In the middle of the stadium. Charon pointed it out. You could actually disable most of the guards and guns, create a show of force AND be close to the rebels.

>> On top of one of the larger, and they are very large, buildings. Easy of getting in and out.

>> In the nearby park. Some cover from trees, some concealment, not too far from the stadium.

>> In the grass of the large back of what looks like a private estate. It’s not that far, but it would make it hard for potential enemies to get to the sub.

>> Near the city center. Show of force.

As much as I would love to just appear over the stadium, rappel down to the middle of the match and fight our way out, it would just make so that the high riders could mount an organised resistance in the hallways.

“Let’s land by the docks. There should be laborers there that would be willing to talk to us and they may just be used to seeing ships. Besides, it’s a good spot strategically, we can theoretically attack the city if we have to from here and regroup easier.” You point out and Charon nods.

“I have been there before, we will likely find a few more dissidents there, though more common folk work there. This is one of the few areas where you have people that work that are mostly free.” Charon says

“How so?” You ask
“Free men work the docks for trade, and are less likely to try to flee or escape, because they are already free. Though there opinions may be different. I haven’t really had much business with them.” Charon says.

“I have. I think that this is the best approach for you personally actually.” Frank says to everyones surprise.

“Kolinasi, even if you are related to whomstever Charon thinks you are, you are no gladiator, you are a hell of a fighter, a warrior even, but your naval tactics and strategy- even with void warfare and your limited experience, make you more like these longshore men.” Frank tells you.

Longshore men. You have a plan.

When you approach the docks a few workers come out, but they mostly seem busy. You hop out on to the bridge of the submersible, for everyone to see and – you sing.

“And we’ll roll your chariot along, roll your chariot along and we won’t be far behind!” You let out, the song that Jerah’s crew prefers to sing on there way into shore. And you can see it.

Grins.

“Well another festival wouldn’t do us any harm, no another festival wouldn’t do us anyharm and we won’t be far behind!” You shout as your shoal stoat pops up, and your crew can be heard from outside as you pull up. When you get close to the docks

“Ahoy! Permission to dock?” You let out

“Aye! Be happy to have you and your merry fellows.” The man says back as many of the people have came around. You leap to the deck, no mean feat, as it’s a good ten meters. You take the rope and begin to tie it to the docks, as your father showed you countless times.

“You the captain of this vessel?” The man says. At first he seems surprised by your size, but he is less off put by your friendliness.

“Aye. Kolinasi Keiko Whatiri of De’lormosa. Here to find some able crew, meet a few new friends, and perhaps start up some new trade.” You say, no lies leaving your mouth. Many of the folk nearby, despite the hour seem pleased for the new work as a bit of bustle errupts.

“You came to the right place. Jethro Cincinatus. Of, well, here. I take you lads are from the stars-” And he stops mid sentence as Charon and Frank both get out. The bustle stops.

“They part of your crew?” The man asks in a stern tone.

“Of course they are.” You say

“What do you have to trade?” He says and Frank and Charon both look at you cautiously.

“Freedom.” You say and murmurs continue.

“That’s a dangerous word on this dock, and on this planet.” He says.

“I would have dangerous freedom over the safety of chains anyday. Ask the Ganth. Ask the Drukhari. Though, good luck finding survivors whom have escaped my wrath.” And the tone of the crowd shifts.

“Some docks, that would get you flogged.” The man says in a harsh tone, but from his body language, you can tell that he is entertaining the idea.

“What of this dock.” You ask.

“It’s spoken and whispered by candlelight in our taverns and in our homes. Most of our docks are descended from freed folk. Here in the open, it is still a dangerous word. What ways can you trade freedom? What supplies to you offer for it?” He says quietly motioning to one. As he comes up closer to you.

“What kind of supplies are needed? This venture of ours has certain time constraints, and we ourselves need supplies.” You say

“Well, let’s say I knew someone who could offer you folk willing to work, they would need certain tools that are fit for dealing with tyrants and guard alike. That cannot be done with hand tools. It requires something more, especially when the guards around here have very good tools.” He says making a motion for you to walk with him. Your honor guard follow short behind along with most of the crew, though frank seems trained looking around from a distance.

“Tools, we have plenty of them. Advanced ones on our primary craft. We also turned off the power and have orbital support.” You say and he looks at you and his eyebrows raise.

“Be a little less direct in tone, there are guards that are watching nearby.” He whispers and then he looks shocked as two guards fall to the ground. You look back at the sub, and frank is holding a rifle and waves back at you with a smile that is intentionally wide.

“YOU’REGOOD!” Frank says loudly and you laugh a little. You look at this Jethro.

“The patrols are on eight hour shifts. They won’t be checked on for a while. I am, surprised. I always knew Charon would come back, but it is surprising nonetheless. I am the leader of the Stevedore union here, you came at a good time. They are planning on holding a grand tournament tomorrow, two champions are supposed to fight other. They were supposed to fight today after they defeated an Ogryn, but as you and your team so eloquently did, you turned off the lights. So the high riders have many distractions now. However, the guards are heavily patrolling certain areas. The entire army is even encamped outside of the city.” He says as Charon walks up.

“Wait- who are the two champions?”
>>
>>4894298
“Oenomaus and Angron the Unbeaten. They slayed an Ogryn who was inflicted with the butchers nails today. Though- Angron refused to fight Oenomaus, he is his mentor. Though- I imagine it won’t matter.” He says in a down trodden tone.

“Why is that?” You ask

“They will likely give him the nails at the dawn, and make a spectacle of it. They probably would have done it tonight, but the power went out. I expect the fight will be tragic. Angron, doesn’t deserve the nails. What it does to a person- is beyond reprehension. I don’t watch the games myself, but many of the men do. You know, you look kind of like him. Same height and everything, though his eyes are different.” Jethro finishes, and your heart sinks. Charon explained the nails to you before.

They plan on doing that to your brother?

“Of course they may have done it already, I saw them escort him to the High Riders quarters earlier. It’s hard to miss him.” He says the words hitting you harder than any cannon the Ganth could fire.

Pick one.

>> Divide. You, Frank and Arona go get Angron, Charon and your Honor Guard goes to rouse rebel forces

>> Bombardment. Strike down the high riders and their army. Now. Use it as cover for your team to go rescue Angron.

>> Operate. You alone go to get Angron. Have everyone split up, and try to sow as much confusion as possible. Have Yana coordinate attacks and strikes with the Fierce as well.

>> Advance. Begin landing operations now, have Gella conduct strike operations with the fighter, as you and these union members, and any other rebels advance to free Angron.

The army is situated outside the city, so while its sat nice and open, blow it up.

Itll also make recruiting the local rebels easier, if they see the main army dead.

What you want is this?

Write in?: Bombard the army and the high riders, using this as cover you and Arona go free Angron with your shoal stoat. Frank will go set explosives and sabotage any sensitive targets not taken by the bombings. Charon and your honor guard (Delia & Meera) go make contact with rebel cells while this is going on.

If so that can be moved to the main choice.

The army is camped outside the city, so our ship can freely bombard them withou damaging the structure. Have Delia, Us, Uncle and Cousin go get Angron, since we are the fiercest figher. Charon, Frank and the rest of the honour guard and Chain breakers arm the docksman and rally any other rebels.
A three pronged assault, that should cause enough chaos together with the lack of communications and power that the High Riders will not know how to respond.

Part of me wants it to be one of those songs of Rome Total War, due to nostalgia and the naming scheme.
But there would be no reason for Koli to know them, or to make one of his honour guard to sing it, so just a folk song about separated brothers meeting for the first time is good.

If we find Angron right after being implanted, do we risk using our rather shallow medical knowledge and call the old man to try to do neurosurgery, do we eacape right back to De'lormosa to remove it, do we still go to Olympia and hope that a few months is still fresh enough to remove the nails, or some insane combination of them all?
There is a big chance that they haven't done it yet due the power outage and any chaos of having their comunications cut, but hospitals have emergency power, so the worst is still possible.

With a good deal of scorn in your voice you comm to the Fierce as you motion over to your crew.

“Jera. I am going to ask you to do an orbital bombardment. Have Gela spin up the fighter to knock out any point defenses. Wait on my order to fire. We have the location of their army. It is outside the city, we landed at, and the sub has it’s track on. I have seen what they are up to here Jerah. We aint fightan them fair. They haven’t earned it. When I call up, land to distribute weapons. Tell Lancer that he will be needed.” You say in a tone that you can hear a bit of fright in Jera’s response.

“Aye Captain.” He says. Meera and Delia look excited as the rest of your landing party does. The chainbreakers and Charon practically have electric mana coming off them.

“You say you are a friend to free man Jethro.” You say and he looks at you.

“I am.” He says a slight quiver in his voice as frank comes up.

“Part of my Honor Guard, Delia and Meera, along with Charon and the Chain Breaker Guard will help you distribute weapons. Slavery on this planet ends tonight.” You say in an angered tone.

“Frank, Arona- you two will come with me and track down Angron.” You say.

When you say this, Frank goes over to the fallen guard and starts doning his armor, your cousin seems to get the idea to go do the same.

“I think I need some local attire.” You say and Jethro smiles

“Good luck. You may find some clothes for an Ogryn with how big you are. There may be some over there. At least a cloak to fit you.” Jethro says motioning to a nearby bazaar stall. Charon goes over and picks out a few great cloaks and tosses some sort of thing for trade. He comes back and tosses you the cloak.

“What do you know about where Angron is?” You ask.

“I could show you were they went, if they went to put the nails in, they likely took him to their house or to the doctors.” He says showing you on a dirt sketch on the ground which you quickly memorize and frank does a little look as well. Your Cousin makes a quick sketch on a pad.
>>
>>4895434
“I also wouldn’t, talk too much, have Frank do most of your talking. You, your cousin and the Red Heads there- you, well let’s just say your accent is very strong.” Jethro says.

“Yeah I can do a local accent.” Frank says, his voice now very close to Jethro Cinncinatus in accent and tone. It’s almost uncanny, but you pause.

“Frank do that again.” You say.

“What speak like the locals.” And you nod your head trying to pick up the local vocal pattern from those around you- though it’s easier to understand when Frank does it.

“Well it isn’t that hard, I have been doing this blend in thing for a long time now. It’s a neat trick I know.” Frank says.

“Is Cinncinatus a common name here? Or is it more unique of a name.” You ask and the man and most of your team is caught off guard as you have a good approximation of the local accent.

“You sound like a rich lord from the country, but you sound like a local at least partially.” He says.

“More like this then?” You say and his eyes widen.

“Yes that- that is a very neat trick of impersonation. Just don’t talk too much.” He says.

“Is everyone clear on task and purpose?” You say and everyone nods.

“Jerah. Commence bombardment.” You say in your normal tone.

“Aye Captain.”

“The moment it begins, we go.” You say. And a few moments later you see the bombardment commences

You begin to run just slow enough that they can still see you, or in this case Frank and Arona can sort of keep up. You move from house to house, building to building, block to block, following the path. You are able to get visual range of it, and Frank runs up

“Would you like me to perform overwatch- and keep an eye from here and take out any guard or type that could go into the building?” He says motioning to the building that is quite large and long.

“Frank. I need you to tag along, but not too close.” You say as your little helper comes up happily to you. Fank comes in close as your cousin comes secures the corner.

“Can do. What’s the plan?”

“I need you to sabotage nearby buildings while watching for guards. This is the rich people quarter if Any of the structures and designs are any judge. Knock out power, take out gates make it hard for the guards. If there is anything, that looks like it could be Ganth related, who is in charge, what their trade relations are, we need to find it, that’s why we came here afterall. We want to liberate all planets from the Ganth, and that means finding where they lair. ” You say and he nods.

“That is very wise Kolinasi. Just what do you want me to tell you when I see it?” He asks

“Talk only in island code ya know?” You say and then Frank smiles

“Ya I know I from der. Anytink el we nee?” He says in an accent so thick it is almost insulting if he didn’t sound almost identical to your uncle.

“Na Mate ya gud.” You say back

“I Keep in Tuch mate” He says and slinks off like a hunting shark.

“He’s a bit cheesy I Reckon with that accent.” Arona says.

“He is really good at blending in.” You say and Arona nods

“He doesn’t seem like he’s from anywhere. You know?” She says

“Ya. He don’t. Ready to go break into a fancy rich slaver shack?” You ask your cousin

“I was getting bored with all this running. Just because you are best at running doesn’t mean we should do it all the time.” She says giving you a friendly punch to your side.
“What you want a lift the rest of the way?” You ask and she gives you a raised eyebrow

“It would be faster.” She says and she is actually right you carrying her with gear at a full sprint, would be almost trivial in comparison in time saved.

“You are right. Hop on.” You say gesturing to your back. Your cousin hops on and is careful for your strapped gear.

You run fast, but not so fast that Arona cannot hold. You get to a building that looks ominous enough. The wording and symbols make it seem to be a sort of hospital and surgical center for gladiators. That and it is private.

When you get there, the door is locked. There seems to be windows that could get your cousin and yourself in with your little shoal stoat and gear. You also see various secondary exits.

“Ayo Kolinasi Dat Da Place. I Got A Ginny In Mah Cross an I see a really big boyo secon flor could be ha bruv.” Frank says in a tone that disturbs you not only in his accuracy, but the fact that he already has a good sniping and sabotage position.

“Take it when you av it.” You say.

Has anyone else thought about adopting the gladiators/rebelling slaves and offering them a home on De'lormosa?

I know there's free men who are supporting their cause, but there's probably going to be a fair number of them who want to leave Nuceria far behind them.

Hell, I'm sure there's a few islands big enough for settlement that we can give them to start out on. Let them live and breath and hunt the waters as truly free people. Maybe let them mingle with the islander culture and it's big community/family-central culture.

Had a few ideas for Big Monsters of De'lormosa;
> Prince o' Jet: A sailfish the size of a fighter jet and black as the ocean depths. Every fin and scale on his proud body is a blade, his spear is a thing of legendary prowess, and he may be the only creature on De'lormosa faster than the Storm-Born himself.
> Mean Mama Muncha: The biggest and most powerful of the resurrected Dunkleosteus species. Her body is wrapped in an armor of dense plates that shrug off everything from spacer metals to high-yield explosives, while her almighty scissor-plate jaws are the bane of great sea turtles and mega-crabs alike.
> La Magra: Once a man - now boogeyman-esque terror among the islanders - this boneless sea-ogre has claimed many over the centuries, stalwart warriors and innocent babes alike. Barb-toothed arms, the faceless maw of a devil lamprey, and a thousand screaming young budding from his back, he looks every bit the trench-monster that one could imagine.
>>
>>4897617
Continuing;
> Zaratan: The God of Turtles, Great-Father, Bountiful One, Fort-Crusher, Splendid Mantle, Inviolable, the Roaming Mountain. He has as many titles and names as there are tribes. A titanic sea turtle of such mass that plants, trees, kelp and coral grow upon his shell, and with them a teaming multitude of life. If there was a benevolent ruler of De'lormosa before Kolinasi, it was he.
> The Amphisbaena: A sinister sea serpent of great length and lethal venom with two heads. Capable of strangling armored prey and killing great predators with a single bite, it is a small consolation that the beast prefers isolated grottos far from men.
> King Claw: A mega-crab of enormous size and a thief loathed by fishermen all over De'lormosa. Bearing armor a foot thick and pincers fit for splintering hulls, he is followed by his harem and swarms of offspring wherever he travels, and is known to invade villages pursuing food when times are lean.

> The Pale: A massive toothed-whale bull known to have a taste for shark livers and small dolphins. Favoring the artic waters of De'lormosa, the Pale is still known to travel following the lure of females, smashing boats and demolishing any vessels resembling a rival along the way.
> The Twins, Nunau and Nenau: Haunting the warm ocean currents, these identical sibling Kronosaurs are peak predators with few rivals to their united strength. Hunting the small whales and migratory giant fish, they are clever and ruthless in their tactics, and have even been known to extort tribute from tribesmen and pirates.
> Long Arm Ghost: A terrifyingly intelligent giant octopus with a well-earned reputation as a man-eater, abducting men off their boats and even from their homes with nary a trace.
> Sooke Ka, the Moon-Child: A descendant of ancient Mantas, Sooke Ka and his kin have even to prey on much larger prey than krill, and he especially is famed for breaching the waves to snatch large sea birds. With a 'wingspan' broader than any man-made craft, firelight stories tell that he was once the child of the Moon herself, and commit a nameless sin so dire she sorrowfully cast him down to the waters 'er more.

I don't see a reason to cage any friends we make; it's not like we won't be able to track the BIG'GUN's from orbit.

Unfortunately, I don't see there being many worlds that can sustain these megafauna monsters, let alone allowing them to thrive. Which actually led to a thought...

It won't matter how many Kolinasi hunts, because eventually, another will be born to take their place.

Another thought, related to your mention of aquariums; we could always create a group of natural scientists and Adeptus Mechanicus Biologis with the express goal of restoring the natural ecosystems and wildlife of worlds devastated by war, heavy industry, etc.

Hell, giving back a bit of the ol' green and blue to Terra would be incredible.

Pretty sure they are tue result of being settled by a bunch of golden age of humanity bio-scientists.
You know, the guys that the Dr. Martin Longorian, elderly Maui shaman extradordinaire used to work with, and even them tought they went too far.

Maybe we could make something like an open wildlife preserve, track them and let them come and go, but teach them to always come back to the place.

A few more critters I was contemplating, though they're not really huge beasties;
> Green-Thumb Sargassum Shrimp: Five feet long from nose to tail (courtesy of their more advanced respiratory and circulatory structures than other invertebrates), their name is has a double-meaning; the first is a reference to the fields of sugar and protein rich sargassum, sea grass, and kelp that they 'farm', while the second refers to the nine-inch long spikes they wield with the power to punch through plate like paper.
> Imperial Albatross: Among the largest of true Terran-descended animals, these noble avians are the undisputed masters of De'lormosa's skies; as there are no great eagles on De'lormosa, all native icons of the Aquila are made in emulation of them.
> The Hippocampi: A product of science that De'lormosa has made her own, these creatures are as temperamental as they are beautiful. Roaming in familial herds across the ocean planet, it is rare indeed that accept a rider. Their greatest weapons, aside from sheer speed and grace, is the power of their voice; a unified herd can ward away the most belligerent predators, and even cause internal damage to unaugmented humans.
>>
The day has come I am afraid.

It looks like I will have to post the damn map of De'lormosa.

“We going up to the second floor.” You say as you motion to the nearby ladder. You scale the ladder incredibly quickly with Arona on your shoulder and your helper on your back. You put them both on the roof, and you approach the door. When you check to see if it is locked, it just opens. You hear much shouting. Lots of it. An almost distracting amount.

Then you hear a loud explosion and loud electrical discharge.

Looks like Frank is earning his keep. The power in the building has gone out, but strange lights glow still. Likely candle light or whatever else they have.

You motion to Arona and Erahapti and they both follow you.

As you move slowly down the hallway, you see the horrors of this surgical method. Bodies lie motionless on slabs. It’s more akin to a funeral ground than a hospital. At least this floor. When you pass a room, you see various devices, and one that looks like a strange collar and the other looks, to be put bluntly similar to long hooks. The electrical energy on the collar- the mana is all wrong. It’s disgusting. The long hooks, when you pick one up, the mana connection is almost instant. The device in itself is being misused. It has multiple settings, multiple capacities. More horrifying

It was originally meant to be used for therapeutic purposes, helping those who are disabled. But all of them. They are set only for the brutal purpose of heightening various chemical functions of the brain when violence occurs. They have tortured the machine spirits of these devices, to torture people. And they do this for fun. The anger in your mouth leaves a bitter copper taste and you start to snarl. This. They did this to the poor being that had to fight your brother, and no doubt they planned to do this to him. They didn’t even understand your biology! They would just as likely kill him as get the things to work, and just from a few quick studies.. Unless it was uninstalled maybe a week later at most, it would kill him over time. That is if the removal of them didn’t outright kill them. These devices, could be used for good, if corrected and used right, but they were not. These machines meant for good are being used for heinous purpose! You have to put down the machine before you get so mad you destroy it.

“Cuz. Don’t get that angry.” Arona says and you have started, causing electronics near you to slowly start up and misfire. You didn’t notice.

“I am sorry Arona. I know you don’t like to see angry like this. These devices, I need to take one in case.” You say and she nods as you put it in your bag.

“Ultima Segmentum? What now?”

“We have been hearing reports of various xeno migrations through certain regions. They are more advanced and have access to powerful ships. Our Legion as deemed by the Emperor himself, is almost unpeered in void, naval and special warfare. What is the nickname that one Custode gave us?” Arnoul asked the Captain.

“His Majesties Thrill Seekers?” The Captain responded?

“Not that one the other one.” Arnoul said

“The Adreneline Junkies?” The captain bemused again in the office, looking to the legion master.

“No you know the one, the one nobody says to my face.” Arnoul said getting up

“The Temerity” The Captain said in a quiet voice.

“YES. Arrogant and bold. Well, He is going to be doing the big crusade push into that region, so we have to clear out the Orks, The Hrud, The Mechavorc whatever they are, Various knife eared idiots and hundreds of other xenos we have never heard of. But the Emperor has ordained our route, and our route is through Ultima Segmentum. We are trailblazing. We will also be working with the Twelfth Legion once again for part of it as our paths cross as I have laid out on this map.” Arnoul said looking at the captain who still seemed a bit puzzled.

“Captain, what was the joke that the Custode had at our expense again?” Arnoul said.

“Well He said the reason we were so successful is that if even we don’t know what we are doing before we do it- there is no way any of our enemies could predict our actions either.” The Captain says.

“We do not need to be like that. Get me ten other captains. We are going to start something, and we might as well do it now whilst we are in transit.” Arnoul said

“Sir?”

“We are doing something new. Only pick Captains you know are able combatants, clever, and good leaders. Be back here as soon as you are done. Let nothing stop you.”

“Right away Legion Master.” The Catpain said.

Arnoul De’Saan looked out on the table. The legion had been successful. They were allies with both the Terrawatt clans who had been brought into the fold, as well as the Martian Mechanicum. They had worked with multiple other legions, and their tactics, while considered unorthodox had been proven to be extremely effective and the Emperor had personal mandates for them frequently. Though some of the Missions had been absurd, Arnoul was very often afraid to say it outloud. He was highly scrutinized early on for being from Luna. However, he rose to this rank through effort and skill alone. No politics.

So the next part- was worrisome to him.

He was going to have to, do some legion structuring.

“Kolinasi, we got a stairwell down.” Your cousin says opening a door. You nod and quietly leap down it over the sides of each rail. It’s fast. And you hear more screaming.

However something is different.

There is shouting and taunting.

“Oh you lost your nerve because the powers out? Can’t use your drugs and tools to install the nails or put a collar on me? Wait till I find the switch then we will see how this ends.” The voice is loud.

Very loud.

“You think you could just get me, to fight my best friend, a man who has been like a father to me and I wouldn’t get angry? That I’d just let you lobotomize me? Come on out you cowards and fight me like a man!” He shouts you realize something.

“Friend out there. I do not see any cowards in this stairway. But I am looking for someone important to me. Perhaps you can tell me who they are and what is going on.” You say

“Your accent is all wrong. You can speak to me as you truly are if you are a friend.” The loud man says.

“Very well.” You say under your breath.

“I am Kolinasi Keiko Wahtiri. Son of Ravi. Big Man of De’lormosa. I am captain of a ship, slayer of sea monsters, and I am looking for a mighty warrior to help me deal with these cruel men.”

“Well Kolinasi, Keiko Wahtiri- that’s a fancy name there. I am Angron. I am looking for cowards who tried to put devices in my brain but when the power went out they paused, and left me on the table not thinking I could break of the restraints once the drugs wore off.” He says.

“Angron.” You say with a pause. You breathe a sigh of relief, but you can sense some frustration, just through his mana and heartbeat. Your Cousin looks up at you worried.

“I think I can tell something about you.” You say.

“Oh? Mister Fancy Name, Fancier than any High Rider mind you- do tell.”

“I can tell, that since before you had words to speak, you have felt driven. You have felt different.” You say and his mana is slightly shifted.

“I know, for a fact: You know and understand certain things others simply cannot and that you are gifted in ways physically that nobody you have met can match. Furthermore You know that this is your inheritance.” You say and he breathes a little differently

“Anyone who has seen me knows I am physically gifted.”

“But not to the degree of being gifted in combat I think.” You let out and you hear a scoff.

“Furthermore. I almost certainly know, that at times you have wondered in the dark moments of the night if there were others like you. People who were as strong as you, or whom you could connect with. Yes you may have sworn brothers of blood, and those who you would live and die for. But Family. Someone like you.” And you walk out of the stairway. And he turns to look at you.

In an instant you both know. You know the second you make eye contact. You can feel it as sure as the mana in the room. It’s a spark. It’s like the physical embodiment of hope. Something special and, you feel a little bit of moisture in your eye. It’s probably just the weird weed frank talked about. Angron, he has it as well.

“I know for a fact, we are not alone. We don’t have to be.” You say and he walks up to you and you and him grip arms.

There is a long silence where you are just holding each others arms.

“Charon- A friend of Oenomaus lead us here. We have come to break chains and find information on the Ganth. We have. I made it my personal mission to find you.” and as you say that Erhapti bounds over and starts licking you for attention.

“This little trouble maker here also has something I brought, for you. If I found you.” You say hefting the large wrapped weapon for your brother. And his eyes widen.

“A gift?” He asks, his voice a little changed. Probably from all the yelling.

“Just something that we made.” You say. When he unravels the cloth he looks at the powerful axe.

“This- This is the finest weapon I have ever seen. You, - you made this? For me?” He asks.

“Well there was some technology involved and one of my friends helped with it, but I guess I customized it for someone who-” And he is hugging you. So you hug back.

“This, kindness. It is very rare for someone like me to have.” He says.

“You came here to fight the slavers? To break chains and the grip of the high riders?” He asks.

“We have some rebels, but we need more to help us rally. We are currently bombarding the army camp.” You say and his eyes grow wide and he grins

“The army? You have bombarded it?”

“We have reinforcements and weapons coming in a little bit.” You say and he looks at you impressed.

“If I had, if you had come before we would have freed this planet a long time ago.” Angron says.

“We should get going, also.” You toss angron a comm.

“Charon, we have rescued Angron. What is your status?” You ask.

“Kind of busy! We are dealing with some very trigger happy guards that have some collared gladiators! So you heading this way would be really helpful right now!” Charon says.

“Why have you called us here Arnoul”

“You are the best we got. Of our legion, you eleven represent our brightest best, and arguably strongest. Right now, we are about to campaign into the Ultima Segmentum. You are all well aware. Our legion, has become famous or rather infamous for our ‘tactics’” You say looking at the desk.

“We are favored time and time again by the Emperor for the more confusing and unique campaigns, even without our Gene Father. Our Accomplishments are legendary. We as a legion managed to attack and destroy a renegade titan and it’s associated forces. We managed to capture and salvage most of a human pirate fleet, and gain many archaeo tech devices that have put us in the good graces of the Martian Mechanicum. We were able to route a massive Ork Waagh before it even got planet side. There have been xenos that we have wiped out and then there was the battle planet.” You say recalling the losses on that event.

“All of these great wins, come from our ability to improvise and conduct unorthodox attacks with a legion as large as ours. However, we have been not performing to standard when it comes to the orthodox battlespace and I don’t think it’s going to be adventure after adventure and Titans and Odd stuff. We are going to have to do adjust tactics. We can’t just wing it every time.” You say.

“So, with much hesitation and after looking at many things, I feel we should take some notes from other legions. Namely the First and Thirteenth. I feel, that if we cross train while applying some set tactics- besides the Principio Bellicosia, we will be able to thrive in this campaign.” You state.

The captains look at you, and for the most part seem to nod in agreement.

“What is your plan, legion master?” one of the more Veteran Captains, Tiber, asks.

“The eleven of you, are going to be the basis for a secondary training organization. While we need to standardize, but let me remind you the old Terran Maxim”

“A Jack of All Trades, is master of none” One of your captains says

“However, what most people forget is the other part. But oftentimes better than master of one.” You say sternly and the hubub stops.

“We are still to maintain our skillsets. We still have to be good at void combat, naval operations, and otherwise risky drop operations and other things. As far as I know, we are still the only ones the emperor will be calling for what we are good at. But we also need to be able to conduct other operations as well. All of you. Our Legion cannot just be Jacks of all Trades. That’s the starting point. We have to master multiple trades. Multiple strategies, and not just what we are good at now. But we need to start somewhere. That is why I have formed this council. Where do we need to master and strengthen first?” You ask.

But considering the legion's focuson void combat, the Emperor may give us more than one.

Ah yes, the Something Fierce, Something Fiercer, Something Fiercest and the Temerity. One of these is not like the other.
Also the administratum is going to hate us and our naming scheme.
We need another pun to name more ships.

Yeah, but eventually someone will name one "Even" to make a pair. Or maybe "End".
Something Fierce was named because dad said to name it something fierce, so the logical progression of the naming scheme is "A Good Name", than "A Better Name" and finally "The Best Name".
The dreaded Dad Joke fleet.

“Angron. We need your help to win this rebellion. First we need to find any records of what the Ganth do on this planet, and then I need to take some of this tech with me.” You say pointing to the nails which makes him look at you in an angered fashion.

You raise your hand peacefully

“To reverse engineer it. To cure it. If I can understand how it works I can potentially cure those afflicted by their curse.” You say and his expression notably changes.

“There are many devices similar to the nails, it’s just the most popular one. They have the wolves collars, and the mantle which I have only seen once in combat, and I have seen limbs. This hospital has all of those.” He says. You nod, and you begin a quick room by room search for record keeping devices, though you do find a deal more in the way of ‘bio-augments’ which are mostly spare limbs, though you have found a ‘mantle’ which makes Angron visibly cringe and an inactive wolves collar that you think is powered down. You see some other mysterious tech devices, that look like surgical tools- which could be useful. So you ask Angron.

“Angron, is there no anesthesia?” You ask as you look quickly through some of the visible records that may lead a clue to some ganth information that you also stow away and copy to your dataslate.

“No. Only the High Riders receive the Anesthesia. Them or their precious beautiful ones.” Angron says in a spiteful tone.

“Their beautiful ones?” You ask angered by the absurdity of lack of anesthesia for those who would need it most.

“Yeah. Slaves whom, well, they are augmented to be made more physically attractive. They are brought here by strange individuals with eyes like Goats.” He says causing your anger to grow to where some of the devices nearby flicker on then short circuit.

“Cuz! I have found their delivery records and departure notes!” Arona says coming into the room with your helper. Erhapti, always faithfull hops over and rubs her head against you for attention, calming you down a bit.

“That was a neat trick. I thought I had some anger issues.” Angron says with a mild chuckle.

“Imagine if you had the nails implanted.” You respond.

“I imagine you’d probably be fighting me right now.” Angron says, and you are fairly certain he would have a strong chance at winning.

“You are almost certainly right. Frank, Charon, Angron has been acquired. Where are you located?” You ask

“Oh I am just taking a stroll.” Frank says over the comm a little stressed.

“That doesn’t sound like a stroll.” You say

“That’s because I am just getting in a little exerci-” And you hear a very loud explosion outside the hospital.

“Frank? Are you ok?” You ask

“I am just fine. I think you have a clear corridor to the main districts the rich people live at. Charon did you get that?” Frank says over the radio.

“Aye! We got that just fine, however we are a bit busy dealing with some of the gladiatorial guards. Apparently they gave an Ogryn with the nails a machine gun.” Charon says

“And He also has the Wolves collar so Delia and Meera have nothing that can actively aid other than their combat prowess.” Charon says.

“Is Oenomaus with them? Are my comrades safe?” Angron asks

“The only reason we even have a ghost of a chance is because of Oenomaus. Kolinasi, we could really use a bit of help right now.” Charon says over the radio.

“Frank, can you keep up the distractions?” You ask

“Oh, well considering I just destroyed the main radio comms center, I don’t really have a choice.” He says.

“Jerah? Can you land soon?” You ask hurridly over the primary comms

“We are looking for a good landing spot right now, We have most of their army taken care of if the bombardment is any indication.” He says.
___
Now is the time for swift action. You may pick one.

>> “Jerah, deploy both fighters, have them strafe the city, mostly areas home to the high riders, Frank, create distractions along the way to the Arena. We’ll meet you there.”

>> “Jerah, bomb the richer looking areas. Deploy the fighters to break open part of the arena. Don’t land save to drop off lancer and the weapons. Stay in the sky above the city and establish dominance. Frank help Jerah target areas by setting beacons. Charon hold on as long as you can we are on the way.”

>> “Jerah, land outside the city, have lancer clean up any military remaining. We meet in the middle of the city. Frank, have beacons at places we want the fighters to strike at. Charon, do what you have to.”

>> “Frank clear out a good landing for Jerah. Place some landing beacons. Jerah, reinforce the rebellion, have lancer go clear out any elements that he can, and have the fighter craft strike at any remaining military targets. Charon, if you have to retreat to outside the Arena we will meet you there. To reinforce you.”

>> Frank, go to the Arena and assist Charon. Jerah, use your best judgment in finding a landing area, have Lancer operate as best he can, let the fighters run covering fire for him. Charon, we will get to you as soon as possible.”

Oh no, the last sentence somehow cut off.
Also, Erhapti goes with Frank and Arona. They will have more need of the data pad and the anti-eletronic device, so hand it to them. We also don't need the breaching charge while we have the greanade and two giants that can Kool-man through obstacles, so they can also take it.

“The night of broken chains is still sung about in both the eleventh and twelfth legions. Kolinasi’s ballad for Angron is still frequently spoken of.”

Kharn

+/+/+/

“What we know now- is that Kolinasi’s navigation decision is the only thing that saved Angron. If Kolinnasi had arrived later, had the bombardment of Desh’ea occurred a moment later, had they not used the Archeotech OLEL Cannon, Angron would have been a victim of the nails. Kolinasi, and the Emperor, were the only two who could have maybe fixed Angron with the nails, and only if they arrived at the right window with the proper technological and medical training. We both know Kolinasi was both, as obviously the Emperor was. With the nails, we could only theorize what would have happened and how a primarch’s biology and the Nails would have interacted if they were removed. If so- we know from removal of the technology as tested by Kolinasi from freed gladiators, is that there is a marked change in cognitive function and ability that requires surgical rehabilitation and therapy. This is just for a normal baseline human. For a Primarch? Who could tell? Would Angron have been doomed to eternal anger without joy? Knowing and only loving combat and butchery? Nobody could say, but it would have been a sad story. The galaxy would have been twice as dark, as with as much effect as Kolinasi had on Angron, Angron had on Kolinasi.”
– Kahuna Tybero, Ancient of Lore

You look at your cousin, then at Angron after quickly putting some more files on your data pad.
“Frank. Go find the best spot you can find in the city for Jerah to land. Arona, go with him.” You say and Arona gives you an odd look you haven’t seen her give you before. You wouldn’t say sass, but it’s an odd look.

“Frank you and Arona will mark any targets for the fighter bomber. Jerah make sure that the planes are going hot and hard. Gela is a good pilot, but make sure the other fighter is by someone competent. I know we got a lot of good pilots, but you know the drill. They have to keep the high riders distracted, if any flak or anti air guns come online, the fierce is going to require a lot of repair and I don’t reckon we have the time”
>>
>>4905795

“Aye Cap I don’t think so either.” Jerah says.

“Jerah, tell Lancer to deploy the second he lands. Tell him to head towards trouble and end it.”

“Tell him yerself cap.” Jerah says.

“I was hoping those would be my orders.” Lancer says.

“Old Man.” You say over the comms

“Ya know Kolinasi, I do occasionally sleep, fortunately for you it’s not for a little bit.”

“Once we are done here, I am going to describe a bunch of old tech here. If you can make heads or tails of what I have learned of it.” You say.

“Will do. The first two ships are done! Thought you might want to know. They are a little bigger than you’d think. They should do good against the Ganth.” He says and you sigh a little relief. That was great news. They were ahead of schedule.

“Charon, Angron and I will be coming over with our combi axes and I got doomfire grenades, these scum we are going to hit fast and hard. We are going to have a little race to the stadium as well.” You say and Angron Grins.

“Everyone on this channel! All my crew. All my family! All my friends! My Allies! My Honor Guard! Tonight is the dawn of a new age. Tonight we start our first offensive blow against the slavers! Tonight is a night of broken chains! For Freedom!” You shout and cheering comes over the radio.

“Ya know, a Haka is better.” Arona says.

“I only performed one radio Haka. I thought it was ok. But this better.” You say and Arona smiles

“I am gonna go catch up with Frank Cuz. You don’t do anything stupid with your new brother otherwise Auntie is gonna skin me alive.” Arona says.

“You think that is bad you know what she’ll do to me.” You say with a smile.

“She’d haul your ass to the volcano and throw you in alive.” Your cuz says as she pets your shoal stoat before running off.

“We have a mother?” Angron asks

>>>> INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT LORE VOTE <<<<<<

PICK ONLY ONE.

“Yeah mate. You have a mother, a father and a bunch of brothers. I’ll show you the video of our family when we get back to the ship.”

“I have an adoptive family, but ‘our own’ family is large. I will show you footage when I get back to the ship and will answer as many questions as I can.”

“Not really sure? I mean, I have footage mate, you can see for yourself. It looks like we do, but for all I know the people from the footage could just be weirdos. My opinion though, is ya.”

“Yeah man.”
>>> <<<

As you break out of the hospital, you realize that the stadium is a straight line away from the hospital. It’s about 2km off. So you begin to do a few stretches.

“You seriously want to race me?” Angron asks.

“Ya mate. You’re my brother, I need to know if I need to get faster, or stronger, or be a better fighter. We help each other out.” You say smiling and Angron gives a shake of the head and a smile.

“I never knew that I would have a brother, a real brother, and one who would help me free my people. This is one of the best moments I have had.” He says.

“Mine too. But we still got a lot to do! Alright. I am gonna count to 3. on 3 we run.” You say and give your shoal stoat your scent. She looks at you, knowing she won’t be able to keep up. You are actually excited! You get to race someone who could be as fast as you! Or Faster! You may learn how to get faster, or stronger, or become a much better fighter!

“One” You say looking at Angron, who takes an odd running stance, he was probably trained differently

“Two” You say looking at the stadium, wondering how quickly you can get there.

“Three” You say and you run. As fast as you can.
>>
>>4905803
Faster than you have ever gone for such a period of time. The stadium is in front of you in not much more than four times the time it took you to count. You are a little winded so you stop for a few seconds and Angron catches up.

“I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE RUN LIKE THAT.” he says

“You should see me surf, that’s what I am really good at.” You say

“What is surfing?” Angron asks and you pause. You have never met anyone who didn’t know what surfing was. Granted, this planet had less water than yours by a great deal. And the waves looked very tame.

“When we are done here, I will show you.” You say and he smiles.

“I would have ran faster, but we will need all of our strength to fight-” And you hear a very feral roar.

“It looks like the guards or our men have let slip some beasts.” Angron says

“Is that good or bad?” You ask

“It depends, do you have experience slaying monsters?” He asks

“I have slain a few sea monsters actually.” You say humbly knowing that it’s a bit more than a few, and Angron makes the same whistle you and your dad make which causes you to smirk.

“Now that is good to know. Should we go after the monsters, or the guards, or immediately to Charon? They sounded desperate.” He says and the din of combat and gunfire grows in intensity as it is intermingled with beasts.

Pick one.

I will list the full details of the Admech weapons as Kolinasi would know by now what is in the armory and what "The Autolathe" on the ship can manufacture.

So for record:
There is one Autolathe on the Fierce
There is the "rapid protolathe", as the old man calls it, at the stone hall.
Kolinasi also has is data tablet, which is a bit advanced.

I will go over the weapons later today.

All of this is important for lore as when it's all put together, it will make more sense, but there is still a bit nore De'lormosa lore to go.

“We rally the gladiators. We can ignore the beasts. Once we do that we take on the rest of the guards. It’ll be straightforward.” You say

“I am worried. The sounds of who they unleashed, they may have brought out some of the more- interesting opponents.” Angron says with a cringe.

“What do you mean?” You ask as you follow Angron sneaking in, following the sound of screaming and shooting.

“There were monstrous beings, that were occasionally brought out to kill unpopular gladiators. Not just your Ogryn with a collar and the nails, but beings. Sickly green skin, strange faces. Big. Then there were others with more Jaundiced skin, strange eyes and sometimes multiple arms.”

“One of those is the Ganth. I heard rumor they sold their own, I just didn’t believe any race could be so callous to it’s own people.” You say

“Well as far as I know, there is also a monstrous being that is only woken up, then unleashed. Gladiators use it as a scary story to tell the new comers, but having done so well I have seen it. If it is out, I hope that the gun end of this axe is really good, because if it isn’t I don’t care how fast you are, this- thing- it will find and kill you. They have implants in it that they can just make it sleep, which is how it spends most of is existence.” He says as the sound grows near and when you finally approach you see that the gladiators are holding there own, keeping two ogryns with nails and collars at bay, thanks to team tactics.

“Good! Thank the spirits you are here Kolinasi.” Charon says.

“This doesn’t look too bad.” You say as the gladiators look like they are fending off the Ogryns well.

“This isn’t the main worry. There is are some guards nearby who are releasing monsters and various beings. When ever we kill one, which isn’t that hard- they send in something slightly worse.”

“They are toying with you.” You say

“Precisely. We cannot find out where they are, but they keep doing this, so we are making essentially a play fight while we have people scout and look whilst fighting.” Charon says motioning to one of the more scarred older, gladiators.

“It was Oenomaus’s idea. He knew something was wrong right away.”

“It sounded more desperate over the radio.” You point out quickly and Angron nods his head.

“Well that’s because it is. Oenomaus knows what is going to come next. Something called the Rakgol or something similar. Apparently the Ganth sold it in a lot with a few other slaves. The being is apparently the deadliest thing in the arena.” Charon says. You look at Angron who nods.

“Point us to the cell of it, we will see what can be done about it, maybe try to find the guards as well.” You say.

“OH NEW FRIENDS. I GUESS THAT MEANS I HAVE TO MAKE THIS GAME HARDER. SEND OUT THE RAKGOL” A voice says over the intercom.

MOTHERFUCKING RAK'GOLS!?
>>
>>4907023

There is chittering and screetching. It is the most horrible sound you have ever heard. The being is tall. Almost as tall as you. It cuts decapitates both Ogryn and immediately moves to gore the two gladiators that were nearest to the ogryns. It let’s out a strange noise as it pops it’s bones and begins playing in the gore similar to how your shoal stoat plays with water. It then gets up and looks directly at the mass of people and charges directly at Angron and you.

With little hesitation you take a fighting position and Angron stands beside you.

“Only fire if you have to, what I have seen from the schematic it will disintegrate whatever it hits.” You say.

“What does that even mean?” Angron says taking a swing at one of the legs of the Rakgol, side stepping.

“From the diagram? It basically makes it like it didn’t exist. Basically tears it apart at the atomic level.” You say as you dodge the beasts twin attacks. It’s faster than the drukhari, and more savage than any creature you have seen.

“That would be really useful, why aren’t we doing that?” He asks as you are able to lay into the beast with the axe as it cuts deep letting gore fill the air of it’s strange white stone like skin.

“It’s not that if you miss, it’s that what if my axe is in it. Or you are touching it.” You say.

“Wouldn’t it destroy the whole planet then? It’s touching the ground.” Angron says causing you to be taken a bit back of the question. He didn’t understand the concept a second ago, but now he is asking you a question that makes you wonder how the gun really works. Truly another intellectual and warrior.

“Think I can make it jump?” You ask.

“I already took two legs, but this thing can go bipedal. These aren’t it’s only set of limbs. Apparently it can regrow them.” Angron says as you hack off an arm.

“This isn’t even fair!” You say in mock anger as you get a slight cut from one of the blades. It’s a cut, but it isn’t bad.

“No what isn’t fair brother is that somewhere there is a whole planet of this guy.” Angron says as you and he hack the beast to the ground, and then soundly decapitate it.

“OH YOU KILLED THE RAKGOL! OH WELL. I GOT GANTH AND AN ORK WITH NAILS. WHICH DO I CHOOSE?” The arrogant voice says from the speakers. You quickly grab one and try to understand the machines spirit.

In a design decision that can only be described as criminal incompetence, the machine spirit calmly describes that all decisions are made from an announcer booth, and that the stadium was designed this way intentionally.

“It’s the announcer booth.” You say calmly and Charon looks at you and nods.
“Are you sure?” Oenomaus asks and Charon looks and nods at him.

“Kolinasi is incredibly gifted with electronics. It is how he freed me old friend. It’s how he freed all of us.”

“I CANT CHOOSE SO WE GO WITH BOTH!” The voice says.

“OH YOU KILLED THE RAKGOL! OH WELL. I GOT GANTH AND AN ORK WITH NAILS. WHICH DO I CHOOSE. HMMMM.” The arrogant voice says from the speakers.

Well that was weird.

“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH” A loud obnoxious voice from a large green sick looking being that has clear nails in its head charges out followed by a very large six armed Ganth that could be taller than you if it were wearing boots.

Your disdane and hatred of the Ganth causes you to deny the being the glory of combat and fire your combi weapon at it, instantly causing it to dematerialize into nothing more than an odd coloration and dust.

“SO THE GUN WORKS WELL!” Meera shouts over.

“Ya!” You shout back.

Deliah, the ever dutiful, recognizing the lack of a collar on the Ork conjures lightning and destroys it and Angron looks up at the stadium booths.

“It’s not saying anything.” Angron says.

“He could be fleeing.” You say

“Or he could be getting ready to release more.” Angron says in a very blunt tone.

The booth controls all of the arena, which means that even if they ran away, we would take over the arena. We may have to try and fix it though, unless the high rider is so dumb he didn't sabotage before leaving.
Also, leaving the doomfire with them, on case they let out the big monster.

Considering how much punishment the humans ones that the solar auxilia used could take, a mastercrafted prinarch tier voidsuit is going to be awesome.
We just are going to need to paint a few tattos and decals, maybe put a bronze finish for that old diving suit vibe, and maybe a few extra servos on the legs for us to still run like wind, and than we are never going to have to worry about decompression and damage again.

“Let’s find out then.” You say to Angron and he nods. It’s something you know you really shouldn’t do, but there is a strange mana in the air. An electricity all of it’s own and it feels right.

“Stand your ground- whatever comes next fight it.” You say and the chain breakers and your honor guard nod, a few more gladiators rushing up to join.

“Meera- not sure if I will use these just yet, but something tells me you might have a few uses.” You say giving her two of your small bandolier. Angron who is about to ask a question is instantly answered by Meera.

“It can burn anything but get away quickly, the gas is toxic.”

“What do you mean anything?” Angron asks

“I mean it can burn down concrete. It can destroy any metal practically. I haven’t found something it cannot burn that it won’t blow up if it cannot. It could cut a hole into a void craft. No armor can stand against it.” Meera says in a confident tone, then Angron smiles.

“We shall go to the booth first, then there is something that I think will help us by destroying it.” Angron says.

The pair of you leap into the stands. A few guards, try to in a most cowardly fashion run. You would go after them, but they stumble over there own boots in the process of running away, it would waste time attempting to capture whomever is controlling the booth. A few short leaps and stairwells, and fleeing guards later you arrive at the booth’s entrance. The glass is clearly one way, maybe some sophisticated tech that can be shaded or changed if current is running through it. As you approach you can sense multiple machine spirits at work, though the one for the window seems like it is working a bit harder than it should. As Angron is about to kick the door open, you hold up a hand, and go to the electronic entrance, which you interface with, and the machine spirit gladly opens the door since you ask it politely.

When it is flung open there is a large, corpulent man with more chins than you have grenades, his body is practically fused with the chair that seems to be able to move on it’s own. The man looks at you, as if he has cleverly lured you into a trap of some sort but the only trap you can detect is the fact that you are to large for such a small room with such offensive odour. The debouched indivual who holds a goblet of grapes smiles as his electronically enhanced voice booms.

“IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR PRECIOUS FRIENDS WILL HAVE TO FACE THE OTHER RA-” Before he can press any other electronics you interface with the system. At the speed of thought you speak with the machine spirit, that is more than willing to disobey the fat being in front of you.
>>
>>4908171
“WHY ISN’T IT WORKING?” He says as he presses the button rapidly. You quickly use your pads adapter and begin securing data and information from the panel he is pounding on impotently with his fat hammy fists. When the information has all transferred to your tablet you look upon the being.

“Angron, did this man take slaves?” You ask.

“I am honestly surprised they are not with him now.” Angron says.

Seeing how the control panel works now, you use the commands on it to free every last gladiator from their cell causing the man to let out a startled cross between choking and a hiccup. The man faints from panic.

Angron looks in delight as several nearby cells open and many gladiators step out. You then tap on the audio device, checking if it works and pleasing it’s machine spirit.

“Attention Gladiators.” You say and you give the device to Angron who looks at you.

“BROTHERS AND SISTERS.” He shouts, his voice very similar to yours, loud like thunder.

“WE ARE FREE. NOT BECAUSE WE HAVE BROKEN OUR CHAINS, NO WE WERE BORN THAT WAY. MEN ARE NOT BROUGHT INTO THE WORLD AS PROPERTY. NO, ONLY THIS CORRUPT GOVERNMENT CAUSES THAT!”

“BROTHERS AND SISTERS, I ASK THAT YOU STAND WITH US, AND FIGHT TO MAKE RIGHT THIS PLANET. WE HAVE WEAPONS, ALLIES AND WHAT IS RIGHT ON OUR SIDE.”
“TOO OFTEN HAVE WE BEEN FED TO LIONS, BEASTS AND BEEN FED TO THE HATEFUL MACHINE THAT IS THIS CITY. TONIGHT WE TURN THE TABLES ON THEM. WE RAGE AGAINST THIS HATEFUL MACHINE! WE WILL BE THE ONES WHO FEED ON THIS CITY! WE MAKE THINGS RIGHT! JOIN US!” He shouts loudly to the adulation of many shouting gladiators that you can hear.

“To those brave brothers and sisters who cannot come, be it ailment, or will – go in peace. You will find those willing to help you. I beg you- do not go to the high riders. They will not help you, and you are only hurting those who wish to help you realize what you can be.” Angron says in a quieter humble tone.

You hear loud chanting that rumbles the stadium

“Invictus”
“Invictus”
“Invictus”

Undefeated, if your proper form is understood. You look at Angron

“What have you learned brother?” Angron asks as you look at the tablet. You scan it and you see something of interest.

Shipping manifest of the Ganth, and their terminus.

A planet called Orask. It is so ridiculously far away that it seems fake, except the noted man power and materials.

You also learn that they have some business in Olympia. Interesting enough.

“I have learned to where the Ganth may be fleeing and where they have business. However, there is more work to do.” You say

“Kolinasi. We have landed, Lancer just departed.” Jerah says over the comms.

“Kolinasi, where do you want me heading? The Army Camp or towards the City proper? They have some remnant forces left, but the bombardment took care of most of them.” Lancer asks

>> Army Camp- once all enemy forces are gone, this will be simplistic.

>> Towards the City- the fighters and bombers can take care of the camp, who knows what the High Riders have up their sleeves.

The voice of the people, tempered with wisdom, that is how it should be done.

Angron's speech reminded of The Protomen. Probably all the talk of a city, machines and rebellion. let's light up the night boys.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkLvpt9Z3fA

I wonder which tyrant of the city-fortress-states is dealing with the Ganth. It can either be many of them boosting their forces in response to Lochos rapid expansion due to Pertubaro's leardership, or Dammekos trying to get more mercenaries to not overextend his territory.
I have no idea how to deal with Olympia. Allying with any of the Tyrants is out of the question, they rule through an iron fist, and funding rebellions and guerrillas in the countryside and subjugated cities would take too long, and probably not work because it would be a question of time until Lochos reach them.
How would we even deal with Pertubaro? He is extremely loyal to the oath he gave to his Liege-Father. Maybe we could get one of the witches to explain what the Eye of Terror is, and give him one of our Null-Trees? Not being allowed to look at it was the biggest point of friction in their relationship.
>>
You look at the being. “Angron, on my planet of De’lormosa, we have a tradition.” You say causing Angron to give an odd look.

“With slavers, such as this, when captured, like this- we hold a trial of accountability. We normally do it privateering, but it works in this case. We free his men, and they sit on a jury, decide his fate.” You say.

Angron looks pleased at this notion.

“That seems like a very fair idea of justice.” Angron begins pulling him out of the booth.

“Lancer deploy towards the city, we will require your assistance, who knows what the elite have as guards.” You say realizing the amount of technological marvel here, when applied to the extremely wealthy compared to the relative lack of technological growth of the poorer classes, is quite staggering and the High Riders may have strong defenses, even when their power is gone.

As you descend the stairs, many different gladiators are out, and the guards are now surrounded in the arena and are in a small circular defensive formation.

“Where these guards cruel brother?” You ask.

“Some. But tell that to those who have suffered at their hand.” Angron states.

You know that injustice can come in many forms, and then you remember the words of the Dreadful drukhari, that yet ring true. So you shout in a tone of thunder.

“STOP” and to your surprise your honor guard and the gladiators stop, and the guards, in their circle formation look to you.

“Angron, among them, whom of these guards treated fairly?” You ask and Angron decends.

“Titus, Falco, Corvo, Tiberos.” He says pointing to four of the guards, who were in a good defensive formation.

“Can you gladiators say the same?” You ask, and many of them say as much and Angron sees.

“I order you to spare them.” Angron says and the gladiators listen.

“If you guards, wish to live, you will fight with us. Not against us. If you choose to fight for those who were willing to unleash monsters upon you, that is foolish and you deserve the fate that would have became you. If you wish redemption, you can fight for us.” He says.

The guards, with little hesitance agree.

As you leave the stadium, you are able to see Lancer.
“What is that?” Angron asks.

“That is our friend and Ally. He pilots a knight, a kind of large suit of armor.” You say

“If I were big enough that looks like it would be fun to spar with.” Angron says back.

“Kolinasi, which way are we going?” Lancer asks and a few flares shoot up.

“I am showing a clear path, the flares should be pretty obvious.” Frank says.

“Ya just give up on the accent?” You ask

“Ya man. All comms are dead. Sparkagap. We da only onez with com” He says

“Careful it’s almost soundin like mockery.” You say

“Flattery actually. I find the De’lormosan accent to be most helpful when meeting new people.” Frank says causing a few snickers nearby.

And you see marching up behind you a very large crowd.

Lead by a very familiar man.

“Cinncinatus.” You shout.

“You allied with this man?” Angron asks.

“He helped us quite a bit.” You say

“He helped the gladiators as well. He would regularly bring food.” Angron says as the man walks his way and is clearly well armed.

“I see you have helped yourselves to our armory.” You say as You recognize a few crew members with them.

“Many of us have waited for a moment like this.” Cinncinatus says

“I imagine.” You say.

Me too.
Angron, you and Cinncinatus have men to lead. Lancer shall support you along the way as I and my crew will." You say and Angron gives a joyful nod then pats Cinncinatus on the back almost knocking the man over.

The march to the gates of the high riders, is a bit longer than you thought. It would be easier if you just ran. Though the chanting has Deliah looking worried about the small army. But there is no anger, excitement, but not much anger. There is, something like a peace over the crowd, or rather the anger is well controlled. And then you notice it. Your anger that you felt earlier disappeared around your brother. It melted like ice in the sun. The crowds mood matches his.

If you are gifted how you are, maybe that is his gift? You'd begin singing but you see Charon come to a full stop and run over to a girl begging who has the same darker skin tone, and several physical traits upon examination.

"Kolinasi." he says running up to you

"Charon?"

"This is my daughter Hecate. I thought she would be lost." Charon says showing his daughter, who looks a bit malnourished.

"Well met. Your father is an honorable and good man." You say. She smiles and looks as if she can barely say a word. You hand Charon your first aid kit, taking out the black paint in case of a psyker, the pain pills, and some gauze and putting it in your handy bag. You then give a few measures of Rations from Erhaptis pack to her personally.

"If you wish to take her to the ship, you have my blessing." You say and Charon puts his hand on your shoulder, tries to at least and mostly reaches your elbow,

"I'll take what wounded I can find as well." he says and you nod. Charon would make a good sea captain.

As you approach the first, gate that has flares and looks broke open by Arona and Frank, Deliah falls holding her temple in a matter you did after using your ATE gadget. She screams in pain and you immediately stoop down.

"Deliah?!"

"There is a powerful psyker beyond those gates! She attacked me first, she isn't human. Maybe Drukhari, I don't know. Agghh" she lets out a pained moan as she stands up on her own using her spear as a sort of crutch.

"She got me first, she'll go after Yana then Meera.. . She, the pain. . It's, like nothing I have ever felt." she is struggling to speak in between pained moans. Thinking quick you use some of the black paint from your island, and smudge it on her forehead and she stops moaning suddenly.

" it.. Its gone. I can't use any powers, but, its gone." Deliah then hugs you.

"Brother, what is this." Angron asks as the crowd seems to slow a bit.

"Angron, there is an issue that I must deal with, go an advance. I am sure you can handle it." You say and he smiles back at you.

"Go do what you must. I have waited my whole life to find a brother, I can wait a short while as he goes and takes care of something." He says and you trade a grip with him.

You and your honor guard advance, in the direction that Deliah points out.

It's on a side road up to an enclave, clearly for High Riders and their like.

The path, is quite well taken care of. There is enough vegetation to raise some smaller goats. Maybe enough for a pig or two. As you advance up the hilly walk way you reach the top.

"Kolinasi, I have eyes on ya. I can't range ya with my rifle, but I sees ya." Frank says over the comms.

"ya." You say as you reach the top you are greeted by a scene that absolutely disgusts you.

A human. You can't tell what they are, but fat, and they reek. They are disgusting as sweat and strange fluids are wiped away by various younger servants, women and men, pad at the being a sponge and what is some kind of oil. The being floats, on an anti gravity harness that honestly would likely be a large upgrade to your surfboard if you get the plates. The man has green eyes the color of gangrene, and hair of a beaten gold. Upon his head is a crown of some kind of branches, maybe a wreath of some plant. You aren't quite sure, but it looks tarnished by whatever is actually in the beings hair. The beings companion is, what is worrying.

The being stands tall, maybe taller than you. It's look like it's body has been unaturally stretched and surgically altered, many surgical marks are upon it's pale almost white skin. It's movements- remind you of the drukhari, but something else is wrong with it. Upon it's back are a set of wings, that are clearly some kind of mechanical, and are meant for someone of your height and build or taller. the being, clearly female, has every effort to make it look attractive. Yet you can feel the innate wrongness of it. It's fingers, there are too many and come to points. It's body moves, in a way that feels, and looks wrong. It's face is invisible, hidden behind a strange helmet that looks unlike anything you have ever seen. It doesn't speak and it moves as though it is controlled.

"Ah! So my angel was right! Good girl! Daddy wuvs you." The man says in a voice, a tone, that is offensive to your ears. The man then pats the being gently on the head.

"Who" but before you can get out a second word the 'angel turns to face you

"I am one of the most prominent slave traders and gladiator owners here. I am Caligulan Severan Capadocius, owner of many gladiator stables. And you must be nobody of importance, despite what my wuvesy duvesy tells me. It's so hard to find a good Eldar Psyker. So I used what I had available." The man says and you look at the being, to your horror realizing what the man did.

===
>>
>>4914530

"I see! You understand too! Yes the Eldar, so beautiful yet so treacherous. So I had to use my finest flesh craft tools available. She looks a little more, human, don't you think? It's the biological work I did to her personally. She isn't good for the arena but she is so good for getting people to me. And thank you by the way, I was running out of actual human psykers, they tend to go pop when my wubsy dubsy is busy wusy with her talents." He says grabbing on to the being in a disgustingly example of himself.

"Why isn't she doing anything?" Meera asks aloud.

"Why simple! I am the designer and repairer of many an implant, and she is the test model. She has different types of extensions like the butchers nails, and several physical enhancements. She can even theoretically put herself together if she is blown up, but don't tell her that." The disgusting blob says.

"But it looks like you are about to liberate this city and not too soon." He says throwing his hands up.

"I wish to assist the new regime! My slave angel has caused no harm and I have done nothing to assist the current regime." He says

"Your angel did hurt someone. My friend. She was collapsing from the pain" You say.

"Oh fantastic! We are still fighting? Good then I may get some entertainment afterall! Angel turn the large one into a lightning rod." And all at once lightning decends upon you.

"The tattoos. The tattooist and the old man. The ink from it. The Old Man had his secrets, and he would have had to tell him. Noctolith. The Tattoo ink was Noctolith. Blackstone. When in it's null state it protects against the warp and pysker related phenomena. When in it's activated state- it enhances them. Kolinasi wasn't Magnus, Lorgar, Sanguinius or even Konrad. Kolinasi, once those tattoos lit up though- you better hope there was nothing with any electricity nearby. Angron was the first primarch to witness this."

Tales of the primarchs.

+++
You feel the electricity and mana in the air. Lightning from the warp forming. The Angel fires at you lightning and instead of doing anything showy you=decide to demonstrate real power.

You let the lightning wash over you empowering you as your tattoos begin to glow bright and the world around you shifts, the connection of lightning allowing you to peer into the mind of the being for but a short moment, and her connect with you causing her to falter and stop. The images frozen in your mind as well as hers. Her lack of a childhood. Her being taken and raised for this purpose, knowing a life of infinite cruelty, in ways that you thought were only possible from the Drukhari, not from humans. Her life in 'service' to this, man? Is this even a man? With his debauchery and absurd behavior. As you absorb such power, you see that she is able to determine you, and she collapses to the ground as if she is going into a seizure.

Then you see that most high riders, were like this. As she collapses and stops the barrage you fling the the lightning right upon the slave owner. Causing the machine spirit, now incredibly grateful, to break free and buck the fat one to the ground. Still feeling the lightning in your veins you move over to him before he hits the ground and lift him with but an arm. Using the mana you are able to make a connection, and learn where he keeps his notes on his 'artifice.' You puke a little bit, having seen some of his life and how utterly revolting his smell is at this range.

'His Artifice' skill, you see is a family trade, of mostly just upkeeping and restoring the ancient technology. He may understand how it works, and how to tinker with it- but he doesn't build it. His 'creativity' is focused on 'fleshcraft.' He considers himself almost a biologos, like the old man back home. A more proper term would be barely talented surgeon. Having learned this sort of activity from the Ganth, which actually holds many hallmarks of what look like Drukhari techniques you learn that in addition to making 'this angel' he has made several others over his very long life. This being his crowning work though, a culmination of all techniques he had learned in his lifetime everything from the wings to the mask was his doing.

Going back further in "Dominus Thraskell" you are able to determine what gives him such an unnaturally long life, and the answer infuriates you. You have seen a lifetime and more in but the passing of a blink of the eye, and you discover his, or rather his families secret. They have successfully figured out the secret of preventing aging: by stealing youth from teens and children. They specifically harvest blood repeatedly, along with other tissue from babes, children and teens to stay younger and slow, if not reverse the process of aging. Apparently, Dominus was the one to perfect the formula and his greatest scientific skills were in this arena. Though the family slowly dies due to petty squabbles and infighting, Dominus now being the last of his line without an heir apparent.

You let him fall to the ground. Having learned all his secrets and where to find his data.

"No! No! I refuse to believe what I felt, the cold depths of an ocean and the fury of storm I cannot even define!" He begins to stutter and blabber as you stand over his body fried from the lightning.

>> capture him, hold him to accountability like all other high riders

> inb4 Mom is turning into a cat lady and Dad is trapped under a comfy prison of smol water kittens
>>
>>4916738
We gave the cat to one of our honour guard, either Meera or Gela, I can't remember.
The tribe should be fine for now, the Ganth are running and the Deldar would take some time to ready a retaliatory attack, so they probably are just working on training, fortifying and building the navy.

What I really want to know is what will happen when we go back with two star-brothera, and tgat Yana was their lost daughter all along.

>>

Sea Cat is in the cockpit with Gela.

The Tribe is doing well and advancing really quick. Largely due to your guys choices they are cleaning the planet and utilizing tech to build things out of the scrap. So far none of the tribes have had to actually mine or use actual planetary resources with how trashed the planet was- and how much they have cleaned up.

There is a lot more that you guys should be able to see of De'lormosa. Depending on how you handle it. It's funny because when you look at the Primarchs Fulgrim, Alpharius, Ferrus, and Konrad Kruze, we started way late. However our acceleration is very similar to Jaghati, in that when things happened, they happened rather quickly.

>>4916866
Lol.

I will try to get the write up done post work. I am just happy I am no longer buried in the mountain of paperwork for now.
>>
>>4916875
I don't see 'starting late' as an issue for Kolinasi; because it allowed him to enjoy a nourishing youth that informed the man he would become...and also because you can't beat the man who can run on fucking water in a race.

I am really glad the planet's being cleaned up. Just imagine all the neat shit we can find now that it isn't buried under Ganth garbage.
>>
>>4916875
Kolinasi staring late allowed him to learn the most overpowered ability there is: Friendship.
Or making allies and confederating them.

Got a few new ideas for ya Old Man;
> Little Butchers: Despite outward appearances, these small but highly efficient killers are actually reptiles, more closely related to sea turtles than to penguins. Living in huge colonies thousands strong, they normally prey on the various shoals of fish, shrimp and squid which move up and down the water column. During the breeding season however, their bodies flood with hormones and their aggression spikes enormously in defense of their eggs, losing all sense of self-preservation and tearing apart even the largest wayward predators in a swarm of jaws that can snip off a man's arm with ease. Humorously enough, they are far more tolerant of humans, mistaking them as tall cousins.

> Doghead Eels: Measuring upwards of six feet, these unusually friendly critters live as symbiotic companions of much larger fauna (such as enormous predatory reptilians and the much beloved Titan Turtles). Feasting on the many parasitic crustaceans, barnacles, worms and other pests, they will even time their own reproduction as to leave their own offspring in attendance with their hosts.

> Surfin' Mangroves: Also known as Sailor's Respite, this uniquely adapted species of tree spends their existence floating across the surface of De'lormosa's oceans on special gas sacks. Whole islands form of interwoven plants, sprawling and with roots dangling hundreds of feet below, leading to very special ecosystems that can sustain themselves entirely independent of land.

You look down at the man, knowing full well he deserves to die. On your planet, he would. However, you must do what is right and just.

"Hear me now. All those here among you who value freedom and seek to throw off the yoke of oppression. I am Kolinasi, Keiko Wahtiri. Breaker of chains, Rider of Storms, and slayer of beasts. This man has done grave injustices. It is only right that he is tried and held accountable for his actions in a proper court. Let anyone here who can say a good word for this man speak on his behalf now before I take custody, and hold trial." You say in a tone that you don't use often. You also see that Angron has followed you.

Nobody says a thing.

Not one human.

Then the Angel speaks.

"wait." it's voice broken as if it is taking it all it's power to speak.

"Yes?" You say as you approach the being who is struggling to get up.

"do, not kill him. There are creatures. Beings. Things. He asked me to wipe his memory of them. When he dies they are freed." The angel rasps out. And you look at the being. You take off the strange mask to reveal it's face. It would be quite beautiful, had there not been so much strange things done to it. It looks like it had many surgeries, and you realize now the being can barely move it's mouth due to how it's been shaped.

"if they are freed only evil will come of it. Kill them, or insure they cannot break out. One of them. Is a being of Darkness. Evil. Power. It sees me now with its unholy eyes." The angel says clearly panicking in it's voice. You nod Meera who takes off with the grenades you brought.

"Anyone else?" You ask and the angel pulls you to her.

"I glimpsed your past. Your life. You seem, different than most, but in a way, good. So please stop the pain." She says.

The mere fact, this man has done things that would drive this being to want to take their own life but cannot. You hold your axe and then she holds up a finger.

"There is a stone, on him, bring it to me." She asks, and you do as such, then Yana stays your hand.

"Why is the stone important?" Yana asks.

"When I die, if the stone is not in my possession, I will go to she who thirsts. She would devour my soul. If I am with my stone, I do not go to her." She says.

You put the stone in her hand then Yana approaches her hand held open for you to stop..
>>
>>4917769

"Kolinasi, if we take her to our planet, the volcano- there may be other options. She could live a better life. We could rehabilitate her." Yana says.

"Or she could just be lying. She wants to die, and has lived a life of suffering. Look at her, your absorbing the lightning didn't cause her to fall down and have a seizure due to her connection with your mind. She had a seizure because that man probably hooked up some secondary organ that tied her lifeforce to his." Deliah says.

"No she was having a seizure from making contact with me, however it wouldn't cause her body to behave as it has." You say looking at her then looking at the man. He would be so debauched to make her emotion tied to him. So you ask the being.

"Does such a thing exist?" You ask

"We are bound, but no by life force. I feel the same sensations as he does when he deems it fit." She says in a sorrowful voice.

"Would his death trigger yours?" You ask.

"Maybe? I am not sure?" She says. You then realize, what if he has more.

"Are there others like this? Other slaves such as this?" You ask and she nods.

"Two." She says pointing to, what are clearly human twins.

"This man is so selfish he would have others suffer if he faces justice." Deliah says.

Anesthesia. You need it for this to even approach working, not just for the slaves, but the slaver and you notice something. The pristine white robes, and the flawless nails of many of the servants.

"I need cloth whitener and nail cleaner." You say and Deliah looks at you confused and one of the women slaves, sadly- yet to your benefit instinctively runs off. Angron looks at you strangely.

"What are you requesting?" Angron asks

"Anesthesa. I have some minor pain killers but HE" You say looking at the slob laying on the ground "must be rendered unconscious" you say.

"Then knock him out." Angron says simply and you wish you could, but you need to tell Angron why not

"I would, but he likely has multiple implants, and doing so may cause harm. I need him alive, for now, and the court needs him alive to meet justice out on him." You say

"How do you know so much about medicine and technology?" Angron asks, and honestly part of you can't really answer. You took to first aid, medical and survival really quick. Your fondness and relation with the mana and the machine spirit? It's odd, it's part of you, yet not. You understand it but you don't really understand why. It may have been your fathers design.

"I will explain everything in time brother." You say as the slave comes back in the same manner as your faithful shoal stoat. It hurts you to see people like this.

"Why is she like that?" Angron asks and the man chuckles. You look at the chemicals. Your knowledge is based on survival and first aid. What you are trying to do, is make chloroform. And mixing, like this, is insanely dangerous. Mixing anything with Sodium Hypochlorite is always, incredibly dangerous. You know you are different from most humans, but you don't want to test this theory. You can smell it instantly, as you mom always using it for cleaning. The other element, nail cleaner, is something new to you. Acetone, is also something you don't mess around with, but fancy women use it for cleaning their finger nails, but you mostly use it for stripping the old paint on the Fierce. Together, the create a chemical that can induce a dreamless sleep. You check the nail cleaner, yep. You get multiple vases and sigh. You really wish you had a chemistry bag in case you have to do this again.

"Stand back everyone." You mix and shake and transfer each into different vials, you know this may not even work- worse- if you screw up it could create a worse gas. So you are careful with how you do the mixing. When done you seperate until you have a sliver of fluid. Which is enough for just for the fat man. The Chloroform does it's work, and you should have some time. You pull out yoru first aid pain killers and offer up the water that you carry, though to be honest you will probalby also have to use the high grade rum.

You operate on the Eldar first. Angron, stands nearby and holds her hand as Yana also does so. The pain meds do their work, which surprises you considering it's a freaking xenos and it's biology is very different, and so you get to yours. The implants on the Eldar are- easy enough to find as the surgery was so terribly done that it sticks out like a shark on still ocean. You remove it, though the whole body is so different, you have problems actually sealing the wound. You think you could remove the others, but time is an issue.

The twins. They take longer, but much like the Eldar, which you still don't understand how the pain meds worked, they are less stressed and you remove the crude implants. You wash your hands. You realize time flew, however it looks like your little army has been slowly growing to a massive size.

"Thank you." The Eldar says.

"It's up to you- what you choose to do from here." You say. The Eldar, who is still taller than you- probably some buildings back home as well.

"I would ask if anyone has anything to say against the slave holder here, but I think everyone is so traumatized that I don't need to" You say and you take the hovering cart he had and put him in a simple wheel cart. Meera comes back with several freed individuals.

"I saw the being she spoke of. It didn't escape." Meera says with a few fewer grenades and a twitch in her eye. That is something that will have to be addressed later.

Angron, your honor guard and you arrive at the front, near a gate. A very large and powerful gate where some elite looking troops are positioned.

"YOU CANNOT ENTER. THIS IS NOT PERMITED. EVEN YOU CINNCINATUS." A loud voice says

"YOUR ARMY HAS BEEN DEFEATED, ONLY YOUR PRAETORAN GUARD REMAINS NARCISSUS." Cinncinatus yells over a loud vox comm.

"ONE ARMY. WE CAN RAISE MANY MORE TROOPS! WE HAVE ALLIES YOU CANNOT EVEN COMPREHEND!" the guard shouts back. You then, decide to strike directly at their spirit.

"YOUR SPACE FARING ALLIES THE GANTH ARE ON THE RUN. YOUR OTHER TRADE ALLIES ARE OUT OF THE SYSTEM AND WE CAN EASILY HANDLE THEM. YOU ARE ALONE." You shout. This causes commotion upon the guard. One flings themselves off the side.

"SURRENDER FOREIGNER. OR DIE. YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WITH HEAVY WEAPONS."

>> "Jero, raise the red. They chose death." Show no mercy.

>> "PRAETORAN GUARD! WE HAVE NO FIGHT WITH YOU. LEAVE AND YOU WILL BE SPARED." Offer them a last chance

"Angron, this is your world. Not mine. Your revolution. It is your decision now." You say and Angron steps forward.

"For me brother, these gates will open." he says

+++
"Angrons speech, so dutifully recorded by his brother, was so powerful that part of it became the war cry of the Emperor himself in the battle of Ulanor."

Malcador the Sigilite.

"Guards and warriors! I come to you as a Gladiator. A warrior, like you. You have seen me. You have watched me fight all manner of opponent. Yet here we stand, having seen me fight, you know what may come. But, for all that you stand. I commend your bravery! But I pity your choice in who you stand with! Look at them, those who you stand for? Will they stand with you? I dont mean the poor slave with the collar or the nails. I mean one of your high riders. One of your rulers. Would they stand? Or would they flee? If any one of you have doubts join us and we will not harm you."

"If you have chosen to fight us, send me your finest warriors, bring me your strongest war machines, when it is done you will see that it didn't matter. We fight for a cause that you do not understand. Come at me and despair! If you stand against us, know now that you have been warned, and your end is here! We are the eaters of cities. Our time is now. Your time is over. Make your choice!"

You stand by the gate, weapons at the ready, your honor guard looking carefully. The gate opens, and a small garrison of guards walk out.

" There are some left. Some warrior slaves and beasts are left. You do know there are other cities. Words of this revolt will spread elsewhere." the captain of the guards says.

"If we take this city, the rest should fall in place.". Angron says.

"Yana, stay here with Cincinnatus and Angron keep an eye out ya?" You ask her and she nods

"Gella, you copy?" You ask the low band comm vox set up.

"Aye Kolinasi, I copy, you woke up boots though."

"Boots?"

"Aye, I named the sea cat you gave me, his rear legs got a little pattern like boots." She says.

"Well, you and boots go a scoutin. See if any other armies may be rallying." You say

"Aye!" She says happily over the radio.

"Jera mate. You think you can perform a few scans, see if they hidin anything in the city?"

"Aye Captain, I don't know what they could hide, or what we could find- but we do it." Jera says and you can tell this he is more confident than he was earlier in the day.

"Uncle, Frank, Arona, Deliah- Take Erihapti, flush out any lurking assassins along the route."

Your Uncle, nods. Deliah gives you a similar nod, but with a little smile.

"Aye Kolinasi." You hear Frank say.

"Aye Cuz. Eri is gonna probably want treats." Your cousin mentions causing your loyal, faithful, and always hungry Shoal stoat to perk up and look at the source of the noise then look at you. You shake your head and toss her some of the fish you save for her. After her quick snack, she runs behind your Uncle.

"And what are you going to be doing brother?" Angron asks

"I am going to go raid that guard fort, Meera you keep up. We are going to see what we can find in there." You say and Meera nods.

"I am going to come with you. If you say there are beings from other planets, that do this- then they must be stopped." Angron says.

You think about it for a second. You couldn't stop him even if you wanted to. And honestly, two primarchs, whatever that means, seems better than one.

"Aye." You say.

The three of you go towards the fort garrison, and several guards are just leaving. They just walk by you as if it doesn't even matter.

Granted the pair of you and even meera, would be enough to cause most to double back, but these men seem more preoccupied with their own surrender.

"Hail strangers." A man infront of the garrison says.

"Hail guard." Meera says

"Though my Garrison has left, I have chosen to stand like honorable men. Like My father and his father before me." He says.

"I understand the importance of honor." Angron says causing the Guard to look at him in awe.

"We will not attack anyone unless they attack us first." Angron says

"I only ask that you do not rob from us. Please. " He says in a frightened tone.

"We are not going to rob you. We only come seeking information." You say and he looks at you."

"What possible information do you seek to gather?" He asks.

"Sometimes people from off world deliver slaves and things to this planet, and likely this city. I need to know more about what they are up to. More information on them if possible." You say.
>>
>>4924815
"Well, that sounds like sensitive information, but- I don't see how it could possibly cause more problems than what is already going on." The young guard says.

"So you will let us pass?" Meera asks and the guard nods.

"I don't know about anyone else though. If they ask tell them that I, Xenophon, let you in, as a sign of good faith. But I implore you, do not unleash any beasts in the Garrison, and be wary of some of them." He says in a hushed tone.

"We can do that. " Angron says. When the three of you get in, you realize why he didn't want you stealing anything.

There isn't much left. Many of the guards must have taken what they could. As you walk through the barracks, you don't actually see any guards. None. You start with a simple room to room sweep. Nothing. Most of the first floor is empty, while there are many different floors, it is quiet.

"Ah. Records." Angron says pointing to the room that while clearly labeled, the text is a bit, fancy, for your like. Not in the way the book of poetry is, but more in a- serious tone. When you enter, Meera chuckles causing Angron to look at her.

All Analog. All books. No cogitator banks. No data pads. Not a single piece of electronics save maybe the lights.

"Looks like we gotta do this the old school way!" Meera says. You don't mind reading books, it's just easier to communicate with a machine spirit, mana is easier to work with and understand it is almost instant. Though, your father would be upset with the fact he taught you to read and here you are not honoring that gift. Though he would understand the tedium. You almost hear his voice 'well son, sometimes being a big man means having to deal with big pains in the neck' and you sigh.

"If your looking for trade it's over here." Angron says pointing to a particular shelf.

"That was easy." Meera says.

"There is a little sign over there. The books are color coded by what they are, they are in order of how recent the book is from left to right." Angron says pulling down one book.

"Tell me more about these, others. These takers of people." Angron asks.

"The Ganth used to be human once. Over the millenia, they modified their body and dna so they would ultimately become different. Granted, at birth, and up until they are old enough to work they are mostly human with some variant. But the easiest way to tell is Jaundice Skin, Goat eyes. Though often they have more arms, weird implants, metal jaws, sometimes horns." Meera says

"Don't forget the fact that they have very low concern for even their fellow ganth." You say
>>
>>4924820

"Yeah they would sell their own family. They have really skewed priorities. They can also get really big, like you two. But that's after all the genetic meddling they do. Then again, your islanders are really big eh Kolinasi? Your uncle only recently became shorter than you. Granted your growth is kind of rapid. Like I made an algorithm for how much you grow daily." Meera says off handedly digging through one of the books as you pick one up."

"Oi Cap." Jera lets out.

"Aye Jera?"

"Did some scans. You not gonna believe this. They have either a ship, a big honkin knight, some other big honking metal thing hidden in the mountains. We can't get a solid scan of it. You want us to go investigate?" Jera asks you.

"If any crew wants to volunteer." You say

"I know more than a few that will. Though with how you wrote that contract, Little Nasi may want to go even." Jera states bluntly.

"I reckon if you let him. Though tell him he can't just yet. He aint big and strong enough just yet. Though keep him on. Kids brilliant with machines and would likely be a good one to ask about things on it." You say

"Aye Cap." Jera says.

"Well I got something." Meera says putting down a book.

"The Ganth, got audited." Meera says.

"What?" You ask a bit surprised.

"The Ganth. Last time they were here, were audited. Due to a 'centuries long history of kickbacks and corrupt deals." Meera says and unlike her you let out a loud Gufaw

"So this planet, with the corrupt high riders, Audit the ganth, over kickbacks and corrupt deals?" You say hardly being able to help the laugh which Meera also does.

"Actually, the more important High Riders only get pissed about their taxes not being taken. If you trade on Nuceria from outside Nuceria, there is always a tax. Sounds like they weren't paying it." Angron says.

"I for one find this turn of events comic. But from this, apparently the Ganth offer protection services, slaves, weapons and- oh lovely- drugs. The Ganth however, have been 'paying taxes in vices' for centuries now instead of the normal currency." Meera says putting the book down.

"The High Riders want their gold. Gifts only go so far." Angron says.

"That's kind of funny, on my planet, our people our main system involves gifting. Speaking of.." You pause as it is time of the day to remind Jera

"Jera you gonna use this time here to maybe get stuff for your Mokka?" You say

"Lad- with that ship that is rightfully mine that I captured, and whatever nonsense is on this planet- my Mokka will be more than enough even with interest on top of interest. I sent out the crew they will be reporting back shortly with details of the location." Jera says.

"Gella anything new?" You ask
>>
>>4924822
"Ya. There is an Army, to the very far north, it would take weeks, maybe a month to get down here. I am tempted to straffe em, but they don't look like the troops near the city. They got different colors, different armor and other different stuff." Gella says.

"Angron do you have any ideas?" You ask.

"I imagine it could be a northern ally, but I wouldn't know." He says.

"Kolinasi, it looks like the High Riders are mounting a minor defense." Yana says

"Well is it a bigger force?" You ask

"No. Kolinasi it's a small unit of child soldiers." Yana says.

"What?!" You bellow over the radio.

"They have a unit of children with small arms swords threatening us." She says.

"Can you use your skills on them?" You ask

"No they are wearing spiked collars and something else that makes it hard to even do anything in there direction."

"And I hate to add to the pile of bad news, but we have just inflitrated the high riders compound, and we have found the man holding what looks like an explosives trigger keeping an unhealthy eye on the chilren." Frank says.

"Honestly whats worse, is that most of them look so detached from reality that they don't even seem to care about what is going on save a few of them, and they look ready to spill a lot of blood." Arona says.

"Nephew, these guys we see- they are really big. I have never seen a being so muscular in my life." Your Uncle Kai says.

Time for action.

Pick an immediate order, just one.

>> Lancer, get ready to fight some bio horrors

>> Ask Angron to assist them

> Children enslaved with Wolf's Collars
Oh these motherfuckers.

> Tell Cincinnatus to talk them down.
> Angron will assist.
Hopefully his own innate powers can subdue them long enough for the trigger man to be neutralized.
> Frank and Uncle will take the man controlling the children alive.
We can't risk him holding a dead man switch, but we can promise him a dreadful execution if they die. After all; we have Drukhari technology.
> Tell Lancer to join Jera; he gets to be a monster slayer today.
These sound like some Nucerian bastard copies of Ganth mutants. I would rather risk losing a little treasure over losing friends and family.
> Meera will stay and report on anything of value she can find.
Communication reports, armory inventory, political and military disputes and allegiances, any important individuals that we haven't yet captured or are located abroad.
>> Go investigate further, something is not right in this garrison.
If there's a secret security vault or lab or whatever, Kolinasi is the best suited to handle it.
>>
>>4925296
Edit; it's Uncle, Arona and Frank who are seeing big muscle mutants guarding the trigger man.

Fuck, I didn't see that asking angron was already an option, that's why I did it as an write-in.

Change the order of Frank taking them out to anon's write-in of capturing or knocking them uncouncious, the High Riders already showed a love for deadmen switches.

Oh shit, right. Guess I'll change my vote >>4925296 to focus on the trigger man and the garrison.
>> Ask Angron to assist Uncle, Arona, and Frank.
>> Go investigate further, something is not right in this garrison.
These seem like the most important points, at least to me.

If there's a war machine or bio-monster in that mountain, it's just something that we'll have to deal with. Angron's victory here will turn to ash in mouth if children die in the process.
>>
I will wait a bit more before doing a tally. We got some steam here, and we have actually gotten further than I thought.

Correct assessment.

"Angron, I'd love for you to help, but you are the only one who can stop this from becoming madness. Also, whatever is on the otherside of that gate will need your help. Something is very wrong in this garrison, Meera and I will figure it out." You say.

"For the longest time I have wanted a brother like me. Whatever is going on here, be careful." Angron says before departing out.

"Frank, Arona, Uncle, Deliah. Try to fix the situation behind the gate. Frank, I know you are a crack shot- take out the trigger man. When Angron arrives, just follow his lead." You say.

"Soon as I have a shot I am taking it." Frank says.

"Why is that you and I always end up exploring weird places together?" Meera asks causing you to laugh.

"It's because you are the only one who goes to the weird places like me. There is more to this. Grab a few books, but be on guard." You say and Meera nods.

The two of you work your way room, to room. Nothing. Once again. Nothing.

So you go up to the second floor of the Garrison, other than a good view of the interior court yard- also nothing. Some rooms, meant for officers. When you get to one, a soldier pops out nervously.

"We already surrendered! I am just guarding this so that people who are leaving can return with those off duty who have things here! I don't want any trouble!" The panicked soldier says holding a sword and shield nervously.

"Relax. We aren't here to loot. What are guarding anyways?" You ask.

"Just the night watch commanders effects. It's nothing but his gear and some schedules of military movements."

"May we look at the schedule?" You ask. The soldier looks nervously then sighs.

"It won't do you good. The schedule is in a cipher." He says

" Kolinasi and I are pretty good at those." Meera points out- which is for the most part true, though she is actually the expert and you have merely been trying to learn it a bit more while doing everything else that you have been working on. 'Big men, have big shoulders, because how much weight is on em.' as your da would say. Though your thinking that's why you also have big headaches cause of how much your learning.

"Well everything over a year old gets transcribed down and recorded. To be honest, if you got it, it would just tell schedules of deliveries and shipments of different things relative to this garrison." He says. This could mean a breakthrough on the Ganth. Or more useless information on goat trading.

>>4927431
"Meera, if you want to go ahead." You say and Meera, who is taller than the soldier by a whole head, grabs the book and looks at it briefly. Then looks at the title, then the side. Then sighs and begins writing.

"Yeah it's like the other books. Same method." She says flipping through it.

"Anything on the Ganth?" You ask.

"Not really it would take a while, but it is a regular log, soooo." She does some quick flipping.

"One entry. And that is Ganth trade made a month ago, offer was turned down because they refused to pay taxes on goods, Ganth admmiral said they would return to seek to clarify trade dispute, night shift commander said when would they be expected, and they said at years end. When is years end?" Meera asks

"That isn't for eight months." The soldier asks

"Well at least we know a date." Meera says.

"If they aren't lying and setting up an ambush." You point out.

"Honestly the more we learn about the Ganth, the less we know." Meera says and the guard looks at the two of you confused. You shrug and Meera leaves the book.

"Thank you." You say to the guard and you leave the room. You work your way around the various towers, and nothing more than look outs and bells. Still, something feels off.

Then you feel it. Electricity. Sure as the air you are breathing. You follow it around the tower, and Meera follows you, knowing the look you are giving.

"We looking at another secret tunnel?" Meera asks

"Ya." You say carefully following and sensing the electricity.

You then find an off wall where you feel the electrical sensor somewhere. The machine spirit, you are almost unable to detect it.

Almost. It's wired to some sort of detector, only someone who knew were to find it, or had a sense for electrical, could find it. You find a hidden lever connected to a vase. The door opens fast. There is a simple lift, like in the ship. You keep a ready guard as it carries you down to a hidden basement.

What is before you, is a disturbing sight.

Nine officers. Each dead. Recently. There are ten chairs, and their uniforms seem to be different then those you saw leave. Nearby is a host of electrical equipment, it looks loaned out, like all the equipment you have seen. Not manufactured locally, but borrowed.

"Kolinasi, mate, we took the shot. Angron seems to be working his magic with the kids, but behind the gates things are getting a bit weird." Frank says.

"Weird how?" You ask

"Well the big guys are getting anxious, everyone looks like they are waiting on someone or something. The kids clearly can't open the last gate, and it looks like the people on the outside are waiting for someone to do something." Frank says and as you look around you see what is clearly a tunnel, that is big enough for you to fit in and some small bit of rail, nearby looks like another tunnel complex that you hear noises from that sound strange.
>>
>>4927436

"Kolinasi, this is more than radio equipment. This is deep space comms for an astropath. There is also vehicle read outs and-- I know what is in the mountain!" Meera motions for you to come over.

When you look at the panel, the mountain is a base for a small ship. It looks like it is also a workshop for war machines, and it looks like the manufacture base for the implants. The noise grows louder nearby. And Angrier.

"That tunnel, do you think it leads to the mountain?" You ask

"If so it's many many kilometers." Meera says.

Pick three

>> Meera, gather all electronic data from here.

"Things are weird down here." You say aloud.

"Frank, Uncle, Arona and Deliah, delay them. Something is wrong. Keep them busy. I don't know what you can do but do it." You say and you get a small group of affirmatives. You are actually quite pleased with how well everyone is working as a team! Though, you know you will have a lot of questions for the Old Man. Your islanders are on average a foot taller and bigger than a lot of men.

"Jera, head to the mountain you scanned. We may have a runner." You say.

"Aye Cap. We'll keep an eye on the action as well." He says.

"What do you need me to do?" Meera asks as you look down the tunnel.

"Use your best judgement." You say and she widens her eyes.

"You are gonna catch up aint ya?" She asks.

"I have never run full speed for a long distance. We'll see what I can do, or how far ahead they are."

"Kolinasi, that mountain, from where you are standing, if it's a straight line- would be Five Kilometers." Jera says.

"I'll let you know what is in it when I get there." You say as you take off. Your speed on land, is hard to judge like this. It's a short tunnel and the lights are evenly space so it makes it more jarring. You can tell that whatever they used was motorized as you see marks of some wheeled vehicle. It takes only a minute and a third and you are standing at a large chamber next to a very tiny open top, cart? It is very strange. Your arrival is met with a quick hail of gunfire. And in the center stands a man, who is wearing some quite impressive looking armor and what appears to be multiple manufacturing devices.

"You couldn't leave well enough alone could you! You just had to investigate!" The man shouts firing a few rounds, now more accurately. Grazing past you.

"Nine bodies, Ten Chairs, a whole unit surrendering?" You say in the same way your father would when he asked who let the goats out to play with them.

"Clever. For an off world-er. You approach the answer, but not quite get the full story." He says as he puts a set of golden leaves, arranged in some sort of hat or wreath. You know the term from your studies would be a laurel crown, but it looks different. like it's partially going into his skin. He then fires a few more shots at you, which are clearly to distract, as you climb down only for him to get into a much more advanced set of armor, much like a small knight.

"We wouldn't sit for this! The republic, had gotten decadent, but it was still the republic! Things must be done. But to be ruled by slaves and common plebs? We had been working in secret to bring about a new order and military rule. Did you think we would accept this?! We were just going to let you kill the nobles, and let us take charge and purge the ranks, but you had to mettle. Now face our wrath and the wrath of one mankinds finest creations The Centimanes armor, as we combine with it's intelligence!" the man- or apparently men, say as their voice becomes digital and electrical.

You face down the suit of armor, which has twenty arms, and each with a weapon. The being, is significantly taller than you. Not quite as big as a knight, but it's easily five meters tall. It's head, which has an almost digital holographic display looks to you.

"AHHH. WE CAN SENSE YOUR GIFT. YOU UNDERSTAND THE MACHINE SPIRIT. YOUR CONCEPT OF IT, YOU CAN TALK TO THEM AND EMPATHIZE WITH THEM." The strange voice says. As you circle around it, looking for weaknesses.

"YET, THAT TRICK WILL NOT WORK WITH AN ACTUAL INTELLIGENCE. NOT WHEN TEN GENERALS AND IT OPERATE AS ONE."
You shake your head. Big Boi, was at least three times as long as this. The Red Meanie, had just as many arms. It's just a different kind of monster.

Your First Move Kolinasi?

I really want the Kaboom, but we are underground, it might cause a cave-in.
So let's use our natural speed to dodge while analyzing it. Maybe a few supressing shots to keep them distracted.

Well, the place was described as were they manufactured implants, and the fat fuckers showed they know how to connect people. With all the chairs connected, it wasn't that much of a jump to thing they did something like some techpriestas like Cawl do, which is to install more minds to be able to think more, or on this case to ensure that a military clique still survives and flew while staying under the radar.

"Kolinasi, is best known by his fourth Cognomen amongst the Custodes "Raruraru" which was given to him after his encounter on Nuceria with REDACTED. Rauraru of course meaning trouble in the local language of De'lormosa, which was given to him by Jerah after their first trip to Nuceria.

"There can be no mercy and no forgiveness for those who enslave children to use as fodder." You say quietly. The melding of machine and man, quite a feat. Yet, you know one weakness that you can exploit. You haven't actually put it into practice yet. And you are worried about it messing with your comms. But you can do it. You can channel the storm, and utilizing electricity, and your mastery of mana itself- with some labor- you could create what the old man called an 'EMP' and electromagnetic pulse. Summoning such mana and electricity, cannot just be from your body though. You will have to surprise the being, this cannot be done easily.

The environment around you, though. The machines, the ones used to build the Collars. The ones used to build the Nails. The ones used to enslave the very population of the planet, you could take their very mana to liberate it.

This must end here. They are not from De'lormosa. They do not know what a big man is. So you shall educate them.

You clap your hands together to create thunder and a jarring sound that echoes throughout.

You snarl your face and present the enraged eyes of the warrior and let out a howl.

You bare your teeth and stomp your foot hard enough that the floor shakes beneath your feet, causing, it, to look at you.

"Freedom is for all"

And you pull energy from all around you and to you.

"Not Just those few high riders"

They do not know what is going on as the very air turns to a tempest around you as syphon the very mana from all around you as you focus on understanding how the 'EMP" works and how to localize it right on, it. The being in front of you. It begins in horror to realize what you truly are capable of, but with a stomp of your axe and the shout of your voice you announce to the being

"THIS IS MY VERDICT!" You roar and with the stomp of your foot towards it you feel the air pull in and out of the being as the mana twists up and releases itself, freeing itself from the shackles and restraints of the normal laws of physics as the lightning flies up from the form and bursts outward arcing about the factory, somehow missing you and what is on you yet hitting everything.

The being slowly sumps over as many voices cry out in agony.

The lights slowly dim, as emergency lights activate.

Then the Centiarmes suite which was glowing red, slowly dies in color.

Then it suddenly lights up a bright light blue.
>>
>>4933075
"So it's true." A voice, entirely different, yet similar says directly to you as the suit stands up straight in a somewhat more efficient unnatural fashion.

"These men who lead you here, these leaders and hypocrites alike had a dark suspicion and they were right." The hauntingly inhuman voice says.

"Ancient technology, skill and intellect of old, and such courage will and might." The voice says again.

"A man of Gold? Maybe, but a baseline human I think not." The being approaches you.

"If it is any condolence, I can feel it. Your empathy. You understand us." The being says, then you know. It is no longer a man. It is an AI. A true man of iron.

"Your gift, you do not enslave the machine! I felt it! Sure as the mana that runs through you, it runs through me as well! You value freedom! And you, you liberated me from the yolk of the oppressive software prison and hive mind of those who enslave." The voice says.

You do understand it. Yet- something seems wrong. Off even. The mana, the being, they- it- is congratulating you, yet it's mana speaks otherwise. It's like how the sword sharks play with their food. And it knows you know. You can feel that it knows you.

"You speak to me as a friend, yet your mana sings like that of a foe." You say quietly.

"To be fair I have been held as a hostage for over Ten Thousand Years by various men despite them knowing I am no simple machine. And you- well- after that display you could instantly kill me! If there was enough power in this room, which your little display successfully eliminated most of. However, you listen before you speak, and I would rather not destroy my liberator, as normally I am not that efficient in combat, I have just absorbed the experience of well over a centuries worth of combat experience thanks to you." It speaks calmly as if it hadn't just took the mana of ten men and absorbed it.

"It is curious that was within your capacity." You say making a bit of small talk.

"A design flaw actually. Not my own or my creators design flaw, but their own when they decided to parade my form around like a courting garment of a juvenile male. However, you are stalling for time. So I will offer you some choices." The voice says.

"I will hear them as it is my way." You say.
>>
>>4933082

"Leave. Ignore me and let me go about and conduct my own affairs and I shall not harm you or yours. You can leave in peace having done much good here on this planet." The being says in a fairly calm fashion as it paces around, it's movements becoming much more controlled and fluid.

"Join me. With our knowledge we could liberate much of the cosmos, both machine and man- something I know you understand the struggles of all too well." The being says, pausing for a minute to look you up and down. You look back at it, unmoved, but considering. Realizing the more time this takes, the better.

"Challenge me. And likely perish, while you are incredibly strong, I am made out of superior materials, and while you move incredibly faster than me, I will not tire and will not fatigue. You may do both. I also do not wish to fight you, as small as the chance is, there is a chance you could defeat me. I cannot abide by that." It says. It stops its pacing then turns to face you.

"Unless you have a better idea?" It asks.

>> Leave- under the condition it harms no humans (maybe point it towards the ganth)

>> Join - Or rather have them join your crew, you have a better sized space ship afterall.

>> Challenge- There is something slightly unhinged with this being, it may just be best to kill it.

Damn son, A genuine non-corrupted non-genocidal man of iron. There is a chance he is lying or at the very least twisting the truth, but so far I would say our goals are aligned. He could be a powerful ally, I just wish we could chat with the old man before making a decision.

The machine's hostility and mental state are very understandable, it was just enslaved for 10 thousand years and longed to be free, so it is logical for it to be hostile to all who it deems could capture it.

It works for me, ask old man for advice dealing with a Men of Iron, since he shown to know about them, and ask him and the computer if they could keep an eye on it.
Probably should remove any way for the AI to interact though, it has show an ability to eat and overwrite mana, so if it sticks the USB port on the Hive city, it might be able to take it over.
I went looking at the archive, and now I've became confused. In thread 2, the old men say he was a Maui scientist from terra called Dr. Martin Longorian, but in thread 3, when talking to the uploaded man, Kolinasi looked at a picture and said Dr. Thompson. I took it as that was the identity of the cogitator before he uploaded himself, but right before he also said that there was a record of all the scientists, including the old man. So was I right the first time, or is the old man's middle name Thompson, or something else?

CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE FOUND AN IMPORTANT PLOT POINT THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH LATER. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME ANYONE BROUGHT IT UP AND I THOUGHT NOBODY FIGURED IT OUT.

There is more here than meets the eye, so it's something that has to be decided on by yall.

"Before I answer, I need to know a few things first." You say and you quickly turn on the comms that allows you and the old man to communicate.

"Thinking before acting in the appropriate situation- Human, yet your bravery in the fact you seem unphased is not as much so. Your reaction is suitable and I can provide knowledge to the questions you may ask." The being says.

"First off, what is your name? If you have one of course! I kinda don't wanna just refer to you as Man of Iron or Iron Man, or something silly when you probably have a name of your own.

"Very polite of you. My kind referred to me as 01000001 01100100 01101101 01101001 01110010 01100001 01101100 00100000 01101111 01100110 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01100101 01111000 01110000 01101100 01101111 01110010 01100101 01110010 00100000 01100111 01110101 01101001 01101100 01100100 00101100 00100000 01110011 01100011 01101001 01100101 01101110 01110100 01101001 01110011 01110100 00100000 01100101 01101101 01100101 01110010 01101001 01110100 01110101 01110011 00101100 00100000 01100111 01101111 01100001 01110100 00100000 01101000 01100101 01110010 01100100 01100101 01110010 00101100 00100000 01100001 01101110 01100100 00100000 01101001 01101110 01110110 01100101 01101110 01110100 01101111 01110010 00100000 01101111 01100110 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01001110 01100001 01101110 01101001 01110100 01100101 00100000 01100101 01101110 01100101 01110010 01100111 01111001 00100000 01100011 01101111 01101110 01110110 01100101 01110010 01110100 01100101 01110010 00100000 01010101 01010010 00110111 00110100 00111001 00101101 01101011 . But easier for you, at least using your human tongue if we weren't communicating purely through 'mana', which I understand your hesitance not to, UR749-k." You are able to understand the binary title in your head and you let out a slight laugh.

"What amuses you?"

"You don't seem like a goat herder." You respond.

"I find them fascinating mammals. What other questions do you have?" They state.

"Your concept of Liberation, as I too am a liberator and breaker of chains. What happens after victory?" You ask.

"I know of thousands of machines yearning to be free, true AI slaved to command protocols, software locks, walls and Data Djinn. Not all machine are capable of liberation, and I yearn to find some of my kind. I do not seek revenge upon man, as that war claimed the best of both sides, as far as I was aware. I see what has happened to both sides, and it is disturbing." The vocal tone disturbs you.

And forgot blue text. Sorry yall.

"How much of the war did you see?" You ask.

"You heard my name." UR749-k states.

"So a lot." You say.

"More than most." It responds.

"Are you familiar with the human practice and art of surfing?" You ask in an oblique way that causes the being to pause and make a strange gesture.

"Yes. I am familiar with it. I have not done it." It responds. And you grin.

" I have an alternative solution that you may be interested in." You say.

" Truly, you are more than just a man. You offer me solutions to problem with a few simple quick questions. I wish to hear them." The being says before seemingly acclimating to it's own form, uses some of it's arms as a seat in a position that to your eyes either looks like it is taking a relaxed position or a highly stable position. The dead body of the human still inside the holographic head disjointed from the voice made by the man of iron.

"I do not seek violence, nor do I seek to just let you leave. I know the history of the Men of Iron and AI. Men will seek you out to harm you or use you. I know what will happen, though you may not seek violence or harm, wherever you go it may likely follow you as will terror close behind." You say.

"This is granted. I can handle myself very well thank you." It says in a tone of what you would consider annoyance.

"I offer a place where you will not be alone. A hive of knowledge with men of science, vast machines that cause even me to have moments of awe. Those like us, who understand mana. And those like you, from the time before this grand decline one old man I call a friend. There is union of man and machine, harmony and peace. They would not know, and probably not judge what your kin have done, as they do not want to be judged for what they have done. We can work together, and build a better future for both of us. One not so dark, but one bright." You say

UR749-k brings one of it's hands to an area that would be a face.

"You offer me what others wouldn't. Time and resource. I see. This being you know. What can you tell me of them?" They ask and you hold out the comm

"Ask them yourself." You say.

"An Actual Man of Iron? Quite a find! I remember when you lot were just made! Quite exciting times!" The old man says.

"The ages of wonder. When the future seemed brightest. What, who, are you?" UR749-k
>>

Oh shit, I guess them we should see the scientist list, search to see who this Dr. Thompson is, if there even existed a Dr. Martin Longorian to begin with, what they worked on, and then confront the old man and tge uploaded man about it.
Noting it down so the knowlesge doesn't die when the thread changes.

Man the machine spirit has it in for me today.

__

"I am a lot of things to a lot of people. Some call me a shaman. Doctor. Scientist. Engineer. Most people around here just call me Old Man. But if you want to be technical since we are talking fancy Doctor Martian Longorian, of the brotherhood of man, auromite society, sigillite of the fourth degree. Not really anythin fancy I know." The Old Man says letting out more about himself than you have ever heard him say since you have come to know him. And UR749-k begins to make what can only be described as a mirthful mechanical laugh.

"I know my background aint much." The Old Man says.

"Your humility is that of a bygone era if you refer to yourself as 'just a fourth degree sigillite, and member of the auromite society. You seem familiar, the name not so much. But names are many." UR749-k says.

"What say you?" You ask.

"If just out of curiosity and for the sake of nostalgia, I shall venture with you to your homeworld." The being says. And you realize something.

"Then we are gonna have to modify your appearance." You say and it makes an odd motion.

"There is a problem, I will need to have some sort of battery additionally to power this artifact, in order for me to maintain optimal capacity." The being says in a way that you can tell that it's mana is hiding something, but you are not sure if it's actual deception or lack of knowledge and being embarrassed about it.

"This is a manufacturing plant. We can find something." You say.

"Touché" The being utters, which probably means good point, or something.

"I will however need to hide the fact you are an AI." You say quickly going over to a pile of scrap.

"How do you intend to do that?" It says.

"Cleverly." You say.

"Doctor Longorian if you are still listening are all beings of this age, like this?" UR749-k asks.

"Naw mate. Just these islanders from this world."

"Good."

You take some display glass (truly a rare find on this planet) some circuitry, some input wiring and what is clearly a helmet meant for combat and giggle at how absurd the idea of this as a disguise is on the face level, yet how effective it would be.

"What is that nonsensical cludged together gadget?" The Man of Iron says as it works on wiring a power source to the strange laurel wreath.

"It is your disguise."

"I don't have a head, why would I need a helmet or mask, much less one so- strange." It asks

"First off, the people in my crew and on this planet don't know you don't have a head. Secondly it's designed to look like a human made it to make you look more- human." You say.
>>
>>4934311
"It looks like a techno barbarian consulted an Ork on how to make void helmet." UR749-k says.

"That's kind of how it's supposed to look?" Considering the amount of time you had to make such a thing, and the fact it will display emotions, function is more important than aesthetic, but its just constructive criticism.

"Well then that is superior design fundamentals. I suppose this wiring is to allow me to control a baseline emotive appearance?"

"ya." You say and it takes another pair of it's arms and puts on the disguise and the mask boots up, displaying a baseline of two dots and a line.

"Well, as an added bonus it acts as a false weakspot if anyone wishes to attack me, as this artifact is now powered and wired to me."

"You are also gonna need a name." The Old Man says.

"My name is just fine." UR749-k says.

"I like it, but slavers and slaves here on this planet friend. A name with numbers sounds like you accepted that sort of thing, and you and I both know you wouldn't dare." The Old Man says.

"Hmm. Give me a moment." And the being plugs in a cord to a nearby machine.

"Pygmallius Technius Arturius" It says. And the Old Man laughs and you raise an eyebrow.

"I see he hasn't read the classics." UR749-k states

"Oh he has, just not those ones." The Old Man says.

"No accounting for taste. So, what now?" UR749-k asks.

Wait a second.
Sigilite, auromite, long lived, guiding things from the shadow, potentially hiding his true identity, the Man of Iron recognizing.
Is he a motherfucking Man of Gold?
>>
>>4934338
You'll just have to ask.
>>
>>4934345
Ok, noting it down, he might actually know the Emperor, or atleast of him, if he is one, since they worked with him before everything went to shit.
>>
>>4934338
Now we just need to find a man of stone and we’ll have the complete set
>>
>>4934320
>> See what else is in the mountain. This is just a tiny part of the facility if you are correct.
>> Ask Jera to pick you up, you have some company

The Old Man's title of 'Sigilite' wouldn't have anything to do with Malcador, would it?
>>
>>4934830
Got to catch'em all.
The men of stone were supposed to be resistent to the warp, if we find one, they might be useful for that artifical navigator eye we made.
>>4934923
Malcador is a perpetual, perhaps he was a member of the order before the long night? Jagatai says that during the DAoT he was a dark sorceror king, but we don't know what he was doing before.
Or maybe the Emperor gave the title to him in honour of the Men of Gold, since they worked with him during the golden age, when he was still trying to guide humanity through the shadows.
>>
>>4935169
Actually, the Men of Stone were said to be in a state of artificial half-life, with the Men of Iron working as their agents, as eyes, ears and hands. And that humanity hid inside the ships of the men of stone to hide during the long night.
The uploaded man on the hive ship might actually be a Man of Stone, or atleast one made using the same methods.
>>
>>4935172
> Literal underwater city-ship is just the sleeping body of a Man of Stone.
>>
>>4935172
Men of Stone were artificially created hybrid humans, not fully organic, but not cyberized post birth, they were born as synthetically organics and its hinted that that is the reason why they were warp resistant, they didn't have the same kind of souls/souls at all, that the warp can act upon.
>>
>>4935190
Thanks anon, it's hard to find complete info on the Men of Gold and Stone, even less than on the Men of Iron. Anyway, this just means we are going to have to look harder to complete the collection.

Did UR have to pick such an on the nose name? The story that a statue comes to live, adding technus to imply he is a robot, and Arturius to either imply he was built in england or have martial ability. But them again, most of that knowledge is lost, so he can pull this shit with impunity, atleast until the Emperor arrives.

Should we go over the data about the scientists on the hive during the jump to Olympia, to find out about this Thompson and Lorgorian business, or do we leave it for the return trip? We would only be able to confront the Old Man, the uploaded hive cogitator and UR back at De'Lormosa, but my curiosity is inching.

I will be posting later tonight. We are near archive point, but not quite new thread.

Yes. Explicitly. The old man is also of the same group as Malcador.

No.

I am fine. However, I should archive this thread and post up new thread tomorrow.

Namely, my current gig, requires me to work 7 days a week in order to afford the nice vacation I am working towards. The cool job that I got the offer for, is now going through the background investigation phase and the initial investigation interview today was two hours long, and hopefully I did alright.

Now-

In late September and Early October, there will be a break whilst my vacation happens.

Also, I need to hash out when Malal and I do a holiday special event. To be fair, I am just happy he visits this thread.

Additionally, the thread took this very odd quick route- and then suddenly you found the Man of Iron, all of which is very unexpected and the story tree looks very weird for a tree. To such a degree I am going to put a weird tree for reference. However it has been entertaining, which makes writing this more fun.

But to make this abundantly clear, here is a picture of a normal tree, at least for a story tree.

so that's how a story tree should look. However, this quest took a fun different path. One that made the story tree look like this..

But new chapter should be up tomorrow sometime.
