You are Kyune Muramoto, Heiress of the Noir-Muramoto Family and it’s assets in the city of Noir. A gene-augmented Plutocrat, you’ve been continually prepared to be a leader since before you were born and trained to be the iron flower of traditionalist sophistication since you could talk. But that didn’t stop you from playing by your own rules.

You’re strolling through the Manor’s hallways down to the garage when you spot your Uncle’s Governess approaching from down the hallway. Frag, it’s only been a few minutes since you talked to Kaguya-chan. The lady moved quickly.

“Lady Kyune.” She curtsies, “May I have a moment or so of your time?”

“Sure.” You shrug, “Winslet-san ... was it?”

“That is correct.” Winslet-san politely confirms, ignoring the informal way you were speaking to her. “Could I ask you a few things about your cousin? I asked her about how the Ishii boy found the visit and there were some … discrepancies in her account.”

“Sure.” You shrug noncommittally. You had been expecting this after all. “But don’t you wanna move somewhere more private?”

“That won’t be necessary.” Winslet-san says.

You notice the hallway is strangely empty of traffic. Had Winslet-san designated an area to avoid for the household servants? You were pretty sure she could do that with her level of network authority. What it was was a subtle statement of her considerable status in the household. Well, if only you cared about those kinds of things.

“Alright then.” You lean against a wall casually, “What’s the discrepancy?”

“Lady Kaguya said … you dueled our guest with sharpened blades instead of training swords.” Winslet says.

You nod. “Yep, I did.”

For almost half a minute, Winslet-san stares at you for a second in mute incredulity. “You WHAT?”

“Sparred with that Ishii boy, Kuro-kun. Used live steel.” You repeat yourself, “That’s what Kaguya-chan said we did, right?”

“Winslet-san sputters in shock. “But … but what if you had hurt him?”

>There’s no real chance that you’d be able to seriously injure a plutocrat child with a mere steel blade.

>Since he was an aspiring swordsman and you were a famous prodigy, it was an opportunity he jumped at.

>It is your duty as Kaguya-chan’s elder family member to measure the mettle of any boy let near her.

>Refuse to elaborate.

Frag, I did not expect the last thread to drop from the catalog so slowly. Has qst gotten slower?

As for the week between when the thread dropped and now, I had just gotten microchipped and was feeling like shit, so uh, sorry this took so long.

I got scared a bit that Kaguya got offed off-frame for spilling that tea and that's why we're Kyune now.

“Then he would have been hurt.” You simply state.

“But isn’t it … excessive, to risk injury in a simple sparring match?” Winslet-san protests.

“Well it wasn’t a simple sparring match.” You say, “It was a duel to establish honor.”

“A duel? But Lady Kaguya said …”

“Kaguya-chan walked in halfway.” You interrupt Winslet-san mid-sentence. “And as much as I love her, she can be a little naive in some areas.”

“Naive?” Winslet-san says, confused, “What could you mean?”

“A Boy approaches Kaguya when they are alone. And she ends up touring him around the manor.” You explain, “How can I be sure that he doesn’t have any ulterior motives in meeting and befriending her? As an older member of Kaguya-chan’s family, I’ve got a duty to measure the mettle of any boy that dares to approach her! And there’s no better way to do that than crossing blades!”

Looking startled and slightly awed by your speech, Winslet-san seems to be backing down. “I see … I don’t quite understand, but I can tell that Kaguya wasn’t lying in her story. Thank you for your time then, Lady Kyune.”

“Don’t mention it.” You say as Winslet-san bows in reply.

“Oh, and one more thing?” Winslet-san asks before leaving, “What happened to that Boy’s clothes after your … duel?”

“Hmm? I don’t know. You might have to ask Kaguya-chan that.” You say.

“I see.” Winslet san bows again. “Well, thank you for your help Lady Kaguya.”

With that, Winslet-san leaves. You watch her walk down the hallway until she is gone.

“Aw Frag, she definitely knows.”

You are Kaguya Muramoto, the illegitimate daughter of the pluto-aristocratic Muramoto Family. Once nothing more than another city girl among the millions of Urban Noir, since then you’ve since left your grimy arcology behind. Now you are educated in everything from history to advanced mathematics to politics, tutored in etiquette, archery, and the traditional arts. All of this to someday blend in perfectly as a true member of the Muramoto Family. But every now and then, you wonder if there is really a place for an illegitimate child like you in the rigid and formal world of the Plutocrats.

And currently, you are lying down in your room, relaxing after a long day. It had been a hectic one, hadn’t it? That business with Kuro-kun, and then having to lie about it to Winslet-san. You hadn’t realized how exhausted you were until your head had hit the pillow. And the sun hadn’t even set yet …

But right when you’re starting to feel comfortable and the song you’re listening to is hitting the good part, you hear a knock on the door. You groan inwardly and try covering your head with a pillow until the knocking goes away.

“Kaguya are you there? It’s Kyune!” You hear Kyune Onee-chan’s unmistakable voice from down at your suite’s door. Kyune Onee-chan? If she was here, then had Winslet-san questioned her and discovered your lie?

You quickly walk down to the front door and open it. Sure enough, there is Kyune Onee-chan, looking out of breath as if she had run all the way to your room. And for Kyune Onee-chan to have been tired out from that, she must have been running as fast as she could.

“Kyune Onee-chan? Are you okay? ... Do you need a glass of water?” You ask.

“There’s no time for that, Kaguya. That fragging Governess might be onto us! I need to know, where did you put that Ishii brat’s clothes?”

“Kuro-kun’s? I threw them down the laundry chute.” You tell Kyune.

“Then we still have a chance.” Kyune says, before grabbing you by your shoulder and pulling you into a nearby room and locking the door. “Listen, we have a number of things we must do if you want to avoid trouble. We need to retrieve the clothes from the Manor’s laundry system, we need to get to my Mother to bring her up to speed first, and we need to distract Winslet-san before she does anything. Got that?”

You nod slowly. What was this whole affair turning into?

They only need to distract and delay Winslet-san.

Alternatively, we can get our half-siblings to cause some mischief and distract Winslet as she deals with her wards. I'm sure they'd be up for it.

>Due to no consensus being reached on anyone to recruit, Kaguya won’t recruit anyone for now. She can always recruit help later.

“Alright, here’s the game plan.” Kyune begins, “I’ll go grab the clothes. You visit my Mother and make sure she knows the story we agreed on.”

“But shouldn’t you be the one to visit your mother?” You protest.

“I gotta run down to the laundry room before anyone Winslet-san sends gets there.” Kyune explains, “Besides, you were the one who asked her for the clothes. Take responsibility!”

“You’re not exactly responsible yourself, Kyune Onee-chan …” You protest.

Kyune shrugs. “Well anyways, that’s what we gotta do to avoid getting in trouble. Try not to get caught by Winslet-san, she is looking for you after all.”

With that, Kyune runs off, leaving you by yourself. Well, time to try to get to Aunt Muramoto without getting caught. Fortunately, the exit to the Upper-West Wing was quite close by. And beyond that, Winslet-san’s jurisdiction over the staff ended. The only problem would be getting past the guard post at the entrance … Oh wait, you still had to get past the guard post at the entrance. Hopefully Winslet-san hadn’t enlisted their help in finding you.

Suddenly, you hear the sound of footsteps in the hall outside. Three pairs of them. You recognize those footsteps. They’re those of Winslet-san … and your Mother’s two handmaids. And they stop … right outside of your door.

“Lady Kaguya, are you there?” Winslet-san calls. Of course, there is no response.

You briefly think about hiding until Winslet-san and the handmaids go away. But you quickly dismiss the idea. You didn’t know if they would split up and leave someone behind to wait for you. You couldn’t lose the initiative. Fortunately, most rooms in the Manor had multiple entrances and exits. However, the paper walls were thin and you would be careful to not be seen moving away.

You stay low to the ground as you sneak to the far side of the room where the closest sliding door not facing your room was. Your footsteps are utterly silent. With your natural grace, it’s easy, trivial even, to make no sound when you need to. You reach the sliding paper door and slowly open it before stepping out.

“Did you hear something?” One of the Handmaids, Naoka, you think speaks out. You hear footsteps slowly approaching where you are …

Hi all. I have an an unfortunate announcement to make.

Lately, it's been hard to motivate myself to continue writing updates for this quest. I haven't been able to post as much as I'd like to and player activity has been down as well. Due to a combination of these factors, I've decided to put an end to Cyberpunk Princess Quest.

I personally liked the story so far and may compile and re-edit it into something I might post online. But as for the quest itself, I can't motivate myself to continue for the three people who reply to every new post within the day, or slow the quest down and wait several days for more replies to accumulate.

If anyone wants to pick up the quest from here or pick up the setting ,please feel free to! I'm not sure there are any, but If any potential QMs are curious, I'm willing to release notes on character details, setting details, and where the plot would have eventually led.

But as of now, Cyberpunk Princess Quest is coming to a close. As an inexperienced QM, I learned a lot writing this quest. Hopefully I will return with another in the future.

Thanks for the ride guys!

This is a huge, tremendous bummer.
Thanks for the ride. It was really fun while it lasted.
>>
>>4926408
Ah, that is quite a shame. I was really enjoying this quest, it’s been one of the highlights of this board really. But I don’t begrudge you for losing motivation, shit happens, and I would never expect you to continue with something your not passionate about. Maybe this will be a great time to reflect on what you enjoy writing about!

No matter what, I wish you the best, and I hope that if you return, we’ll get to see you at your best.

Goodnight, Noir. May the dawn bring about new chapter in your life that will excite you. :^)

>>4927386
If I return to this setting it'll probably either be a reboot or a different MC. I stopped taking notes halfway through and frequently had to go back to old threads to remind myself what the plot was.

Regardless, I love you guys. Each and every one. There are few words that can describe the special kind of love and appreciation a QM holds for their players. Doing what I did would have been impossible without y'all.

I'm gonna miss you Noir. This quest will hold a special place in my heart. I hope life treats you well mate!
