/qst/ - Quests

You are Johann Fol, a human student who had recently lost his foster dad and was forced to transfer to Garsis academy in the elven city state of Cairth under the protection of a new guardian: Miss Yuni in Gladefall Dorm, Tenfaro Street.

Under strange circumstances, you happened upon a mysterious parallel world known as the Moonworld, filled with strange creatures known as shadows thriving in a hellish post-apocalyptic landscape. It's up to you to purge sin out of Cairth as part of your agreement with a malicious entity, Ruin in Form.

From seeing crazy judges and cosmic wonders with Kaz to donating your extra special blood for science, the Lunar festivities had quite a start. How are you going to spend the rest of this holy week?

The burden of commitments was already crushing your soul the moment you woke up. You took a deep breath, still a bit lightheaded from yesterday's wild ride, to clear your mind... how are you going to tackle this giant ass list?

Dedicating a full day to Miss Stag should be your top priority if you want to hide under her cruel, cruel wings. The dryad *is* protecting you and Maq from the Mag boyz and by extension, Vartel and his gang. Without her, you would have either been their bitch or six feet under.

Should you head to Miss Stag right away?

Let'sa go
>>

The sooner you are done with it, the better. After a quick breakfast, you were good to go. Oh man, Tecig is literally drowning in customers... he really could use your help.

Anyways, you left the dorm and went straight to the White Stag, its owner was enjoying the huffing and the puffing of her Hookah outside alongside a nice cup of tea with Horace by her side. Miss Stag's feet were half buried in the snow, the outline of her flip flops were barely visible as well. She will have a frostbite at this rate.

MOVING ON, you didn't know what to say to her as you stood there like a big dumb dumb for a few solid seconds. Should you apologize? Ask for Maq? for your old phone?

"What do you want, boy? " Your very presence was enough to sour her mood , the centaur didn't mind you as much, his sharp eyes were scanning the busy street as if he was on full alert or something.

"I-uuh, work? I was slacking off obviously... and I wanna make up for it. What do you got for me, Boss? I am a mean errm...damn." You tried to capture some of that Red's pizazz but you failed miserably at it.

" Horace, do you have some use for this dead weight?" The dryad ignored you completely while asking Horace.

The centaur stroke his chin , eyes to the skies "The wire can us-"

"No,no,no..." She rejected whatever he was talking about " I don't want to scare Yun-Yun, her heart is too fragile right now. Who is on bug duty today?"

Horace pulled out a really small note book, squinting his eyes a bit "That will be...Ichard."

"..." For a brief moment, The flowerless dryad showed a hint of sorrow , it vanished right away with the next question "What else?"

"Checks and knocks for Sanada , delivery from the scarlands." Well, that's reassuring.

"What are you waiting for, boy? Pick one already!" She whipped you back to reality as you trying to figure out what in the taur are you supposed to do in those errands.

" I-i rreally don't know. I can clean your shop for you, how does that sound?" Might as well stick to what you know best.

Miss Stag took a deep breath before standing up, her voice was as snow " Listen very carefully because I don't want to repeat myself : Red getting the shiv was only just the beginning, someone is gunning for my boys, my girls and everyone relying on me. I got my hands full trying to figure out who is behind this so I can castrate him and feed him his own balls , stir-fried."

You wanted to say something but her blazing eyes were enough to keep your mouth shut " The Underdon and the chrome fuck are acting suspicious. I am yet to find any solid proof which can and will start a gang war...I can't let these deaths go unpunished so you will excuse-fucking-me if you have to randomlyh pick a relatively safe job for the day. Do I make myself clear?"

Red warned you beforehand but you didn't think it will be that bad. Miss Stag must have been under a lot of pressure these days. Damn.

"Bugboy, Knockboy or delivery boy?"

>Bugboy I guess? Please tell me I won't have to deal with creepy insects
>Knockboy or Checkboy? Whatever, that one.
>Delivery boy, I get this one but... isn't the scarlands like pretty far away?
>Are you sure you don't want me to scrub something for you ? I am pretty good at being a janitor.
>You know what? I'll take this wire job just to prove to you that I ain't a dead weight.

You know, what, supporting this. We are postboy now.
>>

"Delivery boy." You finally made your choice.

"Don't lose the package, that's fifty stacks worth of goods." The centaur had brought a dark blue backpack from inside the shop. It was full of spices. Everything was a-ok to the untrained eye, you had no idea whether the spices themselves were the goods or they are stashed somewhere between them.

"Sister Valady should be waiting for you in a roadside motel near the Scarlands, the one with the rusty gyag statue licking its red rocket. Can't miss it." Horace gave you more instructions the moment Miss Stag had to make a call. You can tell he is extra worried about you.

" What is this?" A fresh set of clothes with a cap bearing the White Stag's logo was waiting for you inside the shop.

" Well, you *are* a delivery boy, better act like it."

"Right, right." They were lighter than your current clothes but what can you do about it? As you were changing your clothes, you kept thinking about the name of your customer...just from where did you hear her name? Pretty sure you head it before.

"Keep me updated." The centaur gave you his number " Don't use words like meds , spices, package or good, got it?"

"Yep." Oh man, this is just like in those movies! You are just glad you wont have to stuff it where the sun doesn't shine.

Now, you must decide how are you going to the Scarlands and return home in a single day. Your options are quite limited since you don't have a car. They are :

-By bus (public transportation): 6 x 20 x 2= 240 pons. This is the cheapest and the most hellish way to travel to the scarlands, You are at their mercy. If you ran out of luck, you might have to rent a room go back home the next day.

-By Omnibus (long distance travel): 200 x 2= 400 pons. more expensive but way faster and more comfortable. The other drawback is the time restraint. You HAVE to leave at a certain time...assuming that you have delivered the goods first.

-By Taxi : 300 x 2 = 600 pons? Thank goodness you upgraded your S.S.C, still, this is outrageously expensive but it is more reliable and versatile than the bus(es). The driver may charge you more depending on the road. All of that dead air though....

"Crap." Your starving wallet had only 189 pons. You are soo screwed... or so you thought. Horrace immediately noticed your financial plight, he slipped 500 pons in your pocket. Nice. Is this part of the job or do you have to return the pons to him at a later date?

Omnibus has a branch not too far from Ella's, you thanked Horace before heading out. Your history teacher did talk about the Scarlands before, while it is a popular spot especially in the winter, there are plenty of better places to go instead during the festivities.

Lucky you! You GOT the tickets with a small discount! The Omnibus was practically empty, it did feel odd travelling like that by yourself. You had to remind yourself that this is work, you are not here to screw around, you got goods to del-

"Open da backpack."

"Wuh?" You turned around only to find one big orc who is...oh.

It is Gonshak.

The orc gave you a broad smile , He wasn't wearing his regular police uniform, just your average brown jacket and grey jeans " Scaredya?"

"N-noo, I am yes?" You could hear your heartbeat right now.

"Your notta carrying anythang suspicious ,ya?" his smile twirled down a bit.

"Hahaha, so funny man. Y-yeah, I got a backpack full of pixie dust a-and stuff." You laughed nervously already sweating bullets.

"..." The orc's silence was killing you " Your goin to de Scar-maattata too? "

Before you could say anything, you found Lev arguing with the VIP ticket booth guy about something. The cop was forced to leave you to resume his baby sitting duties.

Miss perfect was smothering herself with layers upon layers of scarf(ves)? , her muffled out voice was quite cartoonish as if she is talking through her nose.

>You are carrying illegal stuff and you got your tickets, just wait for the bus to arrive in a lonely spot.
>Oh poor Lev, that girl can't catch a break out there...see what is this fuss about.

Against your better judgement, you checked on Lev who was throwing a tantrum against the elf selling the tickets.

"I am sorry, Miss, but I can't sell you all the tickets. You can't have an Omnibus for yourself." He was calm as ever unlike his customer.

" Whmmm ymm mmn ymm camm?!" Her explosive words were muffled by her scarf, you could barely hear anything as her face was getting more and more red.

"What's going on here?" You just had to butt in like a big dumbass, your unexpected move had startled her causing her to drop another precious phone on the ground.

This was too much for the smartest girl in Garsis, her brain was shut down while trying to process what to say or what to do to you.

>Oh hi Lev, didn't see you here.
>Man, your hands are pretty shaky, Lev.

Not wanting to draw any more attention, You awkwardly greeted Lev before making some kind of excuse to leg it. Even you don't remember what you had said.

Luckily for you, Your Omnibus had just arrived. You wasted no time getting inside. The seats were surprisingly comfortable, not only that, they were made in a way that six seats could transform into a huge one for Arachni/Centaurs. Usually, the big guys/gals are stuck in the end of any bus, quite innovative. The guy sitting next to you was a wingless pixie, he looked like your average workaholic sinking his head deep into his laptop. Eh, fine by you.

Since your backpack wasn't that large or heavy, you choose to keep it by your side all the way to the Scarlands... it is better this way.

"Good Morning Ladies and Gents, We are moving in five, please get ready for departure." announced the smooth talking driver.

Any plans for this looonng ride?

Well, there was your usual Lunar festivities news and related ads plastered all over the internet, nothing was new here with the exception of a thread you stumbled upon in some forum : ' The Avid Scholarly Corner of History, Lore and Antiquities'

While this forum had anonymous users, it did have registered ones too. You saw a surprising amount of pre-college students engaging in thrilling discussions with actual historians and men of similar professions (nearly everyone on this site was an elf but that's not the point).

The thread you were browsing was dissecting everything about the Moonlit Hunters, they didn't dismiss your gang as something fake or unreal. Instead, they were pulling out each and every historical snippet they could find about Veirthasamath and the incident Kaz has mentioned with Satha 'blessing' a single spot with its blue light.

' I very much believe in a Moonless Ritual. In these trying times, Satha has his agents are walking among us.' posted Cairthiangentry33 , a student in... Garsis academy, interesting.

' A Moonless Ritual? I count one, two, four rituals, all are long lost and forgotten by both the public and the holy Lune. ' replied an anonymous user.

' I think gent33 is referencing the third one, written by the custodian themselves. Do you think the hunters will hear your call? ' posted Jakaal-Adree, A Historian from Nileth.

'There is only one way to find out. The agents of Satha won't ignore this injustice going on in Koris. Yes, It is not on par with the crimes of the serial killer and rapist but I have faith in Satha' Cairthiangentry33 posted a few seconds later.

' We live in a world where extra dimensional moons come and say hi every once in a while so the Moonlit hunters are not that far fetched of an idea. I got a question for you all: *why* do we need this group of vigilantes? we have law and order in our fine city state. They will do nothing but to undermine our society if they did exist in the first place.' This anonymous user had slammed the thread with a very bold opinion.

From this point onwards, there was a heated argument between several users which remained civil surprisingly enough. You on the other hand were on the fence... should post something in this thread?

>Psst, guys, I am a Moonlit Hunter, AMA
>[Leave the thread before writing something really stupid]
>I dunno about you guys but we totally should do the ritual thing.
>Wake up, people, the council has tried and failed to divert our attention. They are up to something

As an anonymous user, you asked about this third mysterious ritual. Nearly everyone was happy to provide you with a slightly different version from one another.

Moondust seems the to be the common item used in said ritual, some say one must mix a drop of their blood in it before whispering their plea of justice while others claim it is necessary to do the same steps under the Moonlight of Satha. However, the most acceptable version is writing a letter using liquid moondust as ink and leaving it under any Moonlight.

Supposedly, the agent of Satha will be aware of this great injustice after each lunar convergence. The next part concerning the fate of these criminals is nothing but speculations. Death seems to be the most acceptable outcome but some cling to something called 'Wethvalathel' or the Soul-Departure of Wickedness, whatever that means. Literally no one know what does this process entail. Damn.

Alright, the Omnibus is already moving through the congested streets of Koris, it won't be long until you get out of Cairth.

"Oh... I see, I see. So, Which gang are you rolling with?"

"W-what?" Oh crap. How in the moon did he know??

"Don't deny it. I did a lot worse when I was your age. My advice: get out while you still can ..."

For a split second, the driver raised his right hand. He was missing his middle finger " don't end up like me. You still got a bright future ahead of you."

For a driver, he had a lot of insight about how the criminal underworld works. Apparently, things are much, much worse in Miss Stag's home city-state. Some parts of Nileth are no go zones. Sheesh, you didn't think it was *that* bad. He talked a lot about the White Stag which is confusingly enough Miss Stag's mom. That Woman was ruthless, a butcher through and through. Miss Stag is like a newly born kitten in comparison.

It is a shame that everything is blanketed in snow, good thing you chatted with the driver all the way to a pit stop in the middle of nowhere.

"We got only 20 minutes, ladies and gents." He announced through his microphone. The pit stop itself was pretty much barren , the only thing that stood out was the 'Lotto-Auto' Machine which kinda looked like a slot machine? Hard to tell with all of this snow and all that extra protection the machine had to avoid robbery.

A single orc was unfortunate enough to work here by himself, you didn't see any car parked outside...only a scrappy motorbike. Damn. The Mini-Mart didn't belong to any major chain or anything. To compensate for the daily loses, Everything on sale was slightly overpriced so your are not buying an of that, however, A couple of magazines did catch your eye. MIDDAY
_______________________

The Omnibus suddenly stopped after about an hour or so of boring vistas. You heard a thunderous shriek outside which scared the taur out of the you.

"What's going on?" A checkpoint? here? Why is there a couple of APCs and a freaking tank blocking the way?

'PLEASE REMAIN CALM, FOR YOUR SAFETY, STAY INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL THE COLOSSAL THREAT WAS BEEN DEALT WITH. A PROFESSIONAL TEAM OF MONSTER SLAYERS AND C.A.F WILL ELIMINATE THE THREAT WITHIN ONE TO FOUR HOURS. ' The message was on repeat.

Waitwaitwaitwait, hold on...

A GIANT MONSTER IS OUT THERE??????!!!!!

You were literally losing your shit, as a kid, you always dreamed of watching one of these guys live. The number of wild giant monsters out there is in double digits. Your enthusiasm was gone upon the sudden realization of the time you will have to wait until the monster is hunted down... you can't even see that well outside; the wind is picking up, a snow storm is brewing. Everything bad has to happen while you are around. Typical.

Looks like Lev had her wish after all; you can see her alone in a ghost Omnibus. She didn't care at all about what is happening outside, instead, She is writing stuff on a large tablet. Probably some weird equations or something.

Before committing to anything crazy, you asked for permission first. The driver had no problem with opening the hatch for you...

...which was a bad idea since the snow storm was getting stronger. There was nothing to record but snow and more snow with the occasional shriek in a distance.

What a bummer. The Omnibus was stuck here for an hour and a half before the snow storm suddenly vanished leaving a gigantic carcass behind.

"Whoa!" Everyone was glued to the window after the fight was over. A winged snake tall as a skyscraper and thick as five buses combined was finally defeated. The sky was practically full of its azure feathers.

The Highway was open, you took as much pics and vids as you could, They won't do you good though. Shame about those majestic feathers, you wanted some but the army guys told the bus to keep moving. There was still some cleanup duty and other research stuff, they didn't want the large site to be disturbed by filthy human hands.

_____________

"I hope you had quite a ride, ladies and gents. We are finally here." Announced the driver as he parked the Bus. He assured you that your ticket back to Cairth will be delayed due to the recent events.

Everyone was exhausted including yourself, the first thing you did was stretching out, you were starting to notice two things right at the get-go:

It was HOT, like really hot. The reason for that was the Scarlands, place was your average final level in video games; very alien and inhospitable with lava lakes, a graveyard for giant monsters and weird-ass plants popping everywhere! There are probably more tourist attractions in this bizarre locations you aren't aware of.

The second thing you spotted were these 'Cooling Shelters' dotting the landscape, as the name suggests, they are spots to cool off this inhumane temperature. It did have two variants, the free one and the 'VIP' one where you had to pay... mo..ne..y?

Whoa, you are starting to feel... a little woozy. W-what are you going to do? So hot.

" Huff... Huff..." You trudged towards the nearest Cooling shelters, already drenched in sweat. Both the two ACs were out of order and the water coolant hasn't been filled in a long ass time. The only thing that was functioning in this relatively small room were its fans which kept you from melting away.

The Shelter had several posters about the do's and the don'ts in the Scarlands, however, the text was so tiny and you were too light-headed for to read it properly. Gradually, you were starting to cool off... too bad you can't stay here forever. Smothering yourself like that is almost suicidal in these parts, it was over 40 C out there!

Alright, what is your next step ? You still got time before the Omnibus would leave.

Well, all you had to do was to find that large gyag statue. This shouldn't be too hard, right?

The air was shimmering outside which was odd since snow was trickling from real hard. The area beyond the Scarlands was even worse, very weird.

There were many establishments surrounding the Scarlands , each 'zone' hosted different types of people. The richer zones were flashier and more populated while the poorer zones were barely able to provide services in the first place, how is this supposed to be a tourist trap again?

It took you a while to find the roadside motel ... or what was left of it, its ugly head (alongside a piece of a red rocket) was disposed off in a small junkyard after it had fell off from reason leaving a wheezing headless statue which occasionally twitches instead of waggling its tail.

The motel wasn't any better; a recent fire had burned several rooms leaving the place in a desperate and perilous state. However, there was something far more worse than a dying business and the immense heat around here.

Silver nomads.

20 or so bikes were parked outside, their owners were .... 'partying' in front of the motel, drinking and cussing to the high skies. Most of them were beyond drunk, They were exclusively humans and orcs all in leather jackets just like Miss Stag had said.

You could feel their drunken gaze upon you, some of them took it a bit further and started to freaking cat-call you. These tattooed and bearded men were out of their minds! You didn't know what to say or to do at the moment. That's not all: The reception room was just behind these assholes, you are bound to get tangled with the nomads if you wanna know where Sister Valady had gone. Time is ticking, it won't be long until the Omnibus will start honking.

>You will... wait outside a bit more, She will evetually come as agreed.
>Pfft, you don't care. Head straight to the reception room.

After ending the call with Horace, you took a few bold steps only to have these taurheads blocking the way.

"Watchya got there, D-boy?"

"You are in the wrong part of Cairth, hehehee..."

" You lost? I can give a ... 'ride'. Come on, this way."

These creeps are slowly forming a circle around you in broad daylight! Remember what Horace had just to you and you will make outta here alive.

"Ugh, Let him pass. Ain't worth the trouble..." said one of the bikers with two actual brain cells. Finally, this was one of the most harrowing experiences you have deal with. If you chose the wrong set of words, you might have been locked in some room after moon knows what they would have done to you.

Moving on, you asked a smoking pixie about Sister Valady, he lazily replied " Room 24... or 27... or 29 "

Just great, the last thing you needed now i-

"Excuse me," Someone tapped on your shoulder, you turn around only to find an... overweight dryad with a warm smile and a wild selection of plants and mushroom growing out of the garden that is her hair. Her bronze skin barely had any bark which was quite interesting for a dryad. While she was sweating her ass off, she smelled really, really nice like a honeyed incense or is it Jasmine? both?

Sister Valady.

" Are you who I think you are?" Her eyes were focused on your backpack.

"Yep," You answered truthfully.

" Follow me." You didn't like this but you followed her to her room which was a mini-drug lab with tubes and stuff. Very suspicious.

>Uuuh, I have seen dryads... of your size

" Well, I-" She stopped mid sentence "Thank the White Stag for me... her contribution helps me to save lives."

" Alright. Goodbye Miss Valady." You left her room feeling a bit curious about what she had on her mind . It felt like she could use your help on something. Whatever, you got some feathers to catch.

And three they were nearby of various shapes and sizes. You are no bird expert but these fuzzy short feathers which landed somewhere in the junkyard are called downs, they should be the easiest of the bunch to get but it is somewhat of a risk to wade through rusty scraps and broken glass just to get to it.

Your second option was a proper feather, as long as your whole arm. It was lodged between four weird spiky plants on top of a hill. Climbing there won't be an easy task, you also don't know who to pull out the feather without tearing it. It is possible to do so but It make take some finesse from your side.

The last one was by far the most majestic , emitting a faint blue light and seemingly unaffected by this hellish weather. It was long enough to conceal a whole elfoid behind it! It was still floating about above a dangerous area where small puddles of lava kept popping behind a short fence with a warning sign for anyone who is stupid enough to enter this hazardous zone.

Your bad luck didn't stop there, a modified semi-track had hastily parked in front of the motel before a human and an arachni had bolted out of it crying "THERE IT IS!"

It seems that they were already tracking that wondrous plume for quite some time. Both of them were already on the prowl especially that Arachni. The back of their truck was loaded with downs and larger-feathers already, their third partner went out to buy a bottle of water. Hmmm.....

+++++++++++ White Stag

The way back to Koris was mostly uneventful, you did feel a lot safer inside your neighborhood; those nomad guys were creeps.

Anyways, you returned back to the White Stag where it was... closed? huh?

You knocked on the door before the Centaur had let you in. Horace was busy mopping off several blood splatters in the reception room with a grim expression on his face.

"Woah, woah, woah... what happened here?"

"Head inside, Boss wants to speak with you." Ohh boy, this is not looking good.

You followed the blood trail to the massage room, Your heart drumming faster with each step. Red passed by along with another White Stag orc, he was too busy to even say hi. This is not got

Oh no.

Oh no..

"Don't mind the mess, sit down." cold words stemmed from her lips as she was filling her lungs with more smoke from her hookah.

You did as she asked and took a seat. Silence lingered in the small room save for the occasional droplet of blood dripping from a broken bottle half-buried in the throat of a elf. Her lifeless gaze was set upon Miss Stag...

...and Maq.

Your friend had blood all over her clothes, She didn't bother to clean up at all. Maq sank in her seat with a blank expression, You are not sure if she was aware of your presence just yet.

As for the flowerless dryad, She had her right shoulder bandaged. Other than that, She seemed mostly fine.

"So, How was the delivery? Everything went on just fine?" A cloud of smoke had erupted from her mouth.

It was hard to concentrate with Maq's blank look, but you have to talk.

>It..went fine.
>I..I found these [Show her the downs]
>So that's why horace...
>Sister Valady wanted to thank you.

" Yes, I will make sure to call her but for now..." She took off her blood-soaked flip-flops " Let's state the obvious here: This knife-eared bitch had tried to kill right in my shop."

The dryad spat on the elf's glassy eye " Your girlfriend was mopping the floor when I let my guard down, I don't know what had gotten to her... what you see before you is the work of a killer, boy. She went ham on that throat. Horace had to stop her from shanking a dead bitch at some point."

You briefly made an eye contact with Maq, there was nothing but vast emptiness in her eyes " Not that I am not grateful but... She is a messy situation. For once, I don't know what to do with her."

>Maq is *not* a killer, It was a spur of the moment thing.

"Yeah?"

"Speak of this to anyone and you will wind up worse than this bitch, got it?" You nodded before leaving with the orc. Apparently , Miss Stag also owned the second floor with all of its four apartments, the first two were for storage while the rest were your average apartments. Jukk was the silent type, he didn't speak much while showing Maq the bathroom and a new set of clothes for her. When she got out without a speck of blood, a warm cup of coco and cookies were waiting for her. As for you, You only had to change back to your own clothes leaving that delivery boy outfit in a laundry bin.

"Take care." were the only words spoken by him as he left you two alone to return to his boss downstairs. It was just you and her.

You buckled up for one of either the most interesting or the most boring incidents in the history of fencing. You had plenty of incidents to choose from but you noticed a distinct pattern....

Nearly all of the results were about non-elven fencers. Any elven incident didn't exist on the face of the internet which is a load of taur since MOST of the fencers are elves. You could roll up your sleeves and dig deep into the unclean bowels of the internet to find some or you could just finish the assignment with that is readily available. You might attract the wrong kind of attention with your fencing teacher by making your list exclusively elves and the opposite is true. Quite a problem....

What a devilish plan you had, like a knife in a dark, no one will trace back to you PROVIDED THAT you are not a dumbass with your writing.

The first incident you wrote was with a pixie named Zetub K'olsah who had unusually large wings that were too heavy to flap in the first place, they dragged along the floor whenever she walked anywhere. Her fencing career was shaky at best due to the heavy burden on her back. Then suddenly, The pixie would win one match after another, her opponents would claim that they suddenly lost their concentration mid-match for no reason.

Turns out, her freakishly large wings would produce a small but potent dose of aphrodisiacs on command. If a certain chemist didn't attend her match, she would continue her streak. Her career ended shortly after this scandal, some of the elves whom she fought had asked the Low King of the time to cut her wings for the embarrassment they had to suffer during the match (the guys were... ahem, 'glad' to see her) but they didn't get the chance to exact revenge after she had fled the kingdom of Nileth. The 'Rapier Siren' was to fall into obscurity after this incident.

1/?
>>
>>4961933
The second incident involved an orc named Zug-Tos the 'Invincible'. Now, for obvious reasons, Orc had nearly no presence in the fencing world during their pre-rev slave status as well as the lack of dexterity needed to be a good fencer. Zug wanted to prove a point snapping that elven pride in half, He struggled in his early years to acclaim fame among Cairth. His brutish techniques were so damn effective in winning a match in the first few minutes, all of them were self-learned (the few orcs who are interested in fencing call them to Ush-gozol).

His career was blossoming , threatening the elites of the fencing world who were not afraid of him but rather the idea he was planting in the elven's most favorite past time so they started by offering him a large sum of pons so he can 'retire'. Zug outright refused the money spitting on the face of the elf who wanted to buy him out who turns out to Onveheth, the most renowned fencer in Cairth at the time who had a tournament match with him in the upcoming months.

Weeks later, Onveheth and another top fencer had arranged an 'unfortunate accident ' involving breaking his dominant arm but Zug did the impossible by dueling the other fencer in the semi-finals with his OTHER ARM and annihilating the other guy. Fearing for his title, Onveheth had thugs kidnap his daughters and wife threatening Zug to retire or else. Zug was put in a perilous situation: His Family or His Ideals?

Some say he had gone mad by choosing to duel in the finals instead of saving his family, others say he was an abusive husband and father (with little evidence to back it up) so he didn't care about them. The result was the same: An absolute victory for Zug-Tos the Invincible who never lost a match during his rapid ascent to the top.

While the elf was seething at his loss cursing the patch skin and his ancestors, the orc was further provoked by other fencers who belittled him and made his life a living inferno throughout the last few years. This important watch had few audience in fear of the orc actually winning. Everyone knew each other, even the referee said that announcing him as the victor was cause such turmoil so he better 'accept' his second place.

The last straw was when one of the guard brought a sack full of disembodied heads, The orc saw his family's heads rolling on the marble floor....

2/?
>>
>>4961964
Silently, Zug walked away from the laughing audience to the sole exit before tipping one of the ceremonial fire cauldrons effectively blocking the way out with a wall of flames. He went on a murderous rage killing anyone nearby with either his rapier or with his brutish strength. The guards had only swords and spears, no firearms.

Out of the 75 guests, 11 were killed (including Onveheth who had his eyes gouged before getting his windpipe crushed ) , 5 were maimed for life and 31 suffered from minor injuries from the rising smoke and/or the stampede that follow. The truth was revealed only because of another fencer who sympathized with Zug but didn't act on it. Just like that, his legacy was gone. The orc was lucky to be killed there, otherwise, his execution would be agonizing.

Wow, just wow. You are not exactly sure who to condemn here...

>Zug, he went on a murdering spree.
>Better use this one as your 'special' letter
>Screw it, Onveheth was behind all of this. You will put this story along the other four.

Hooo boy, this will be extra spicy.

Moving on, the third incident was all about a skillful human named Clarisse Hesshin who didn't cheat or kill anyone like the above mentioned fencers but she had an insurmountable fetish for dominating elves in their own sport watching their haughty demeanor shattered on the floor. She was banned after ma...Oh.

Oh.

Indecent behavior... yeah, that is much better than-blugh!

The fourth one was a brilliant dryad by the name of 'Iron Oshlavign ' who had his suits lined with a special layer of magnets in certain spots so when his opponent's rapier would swivel at the last second. No one actually caught him, the dryad had retired early in his career after finding a new passion which was tailoring better fencing suits. His dirty secret was revealed by his daughter after his death. This is a tricky subject in the world of fencing; for one, the dryad is responsible for amazing designs worldwide, pushing the envelope every chance he got... on the other hand, He *was* a cheater who stole many victories from skillful fencers. His personal memoir states that he was remorseful for what he had done to the poor fencer he dominated. What is your stance about this guy?

>He should have been stripped of all his achievements, posthumously.

You are half-praising this guy, will this count as a shameful incident ? Hard to tell.

The fifth incident is kinda weird with two human twins impersonating each other, or rather, they made people think there is only one Caldwin Black. From faking a death certificate for one of them to leaving the city state under the slightest hint of suspicion, their lives were basically one elaborate ruse after another. That was until their house was engulfed in flames after getting struck by lightning.

The twins were forced to run for their lives, their secret was discovered soon after. They lost everything afterwards; their fame and fortune... gone. There is no happy ending for this story.

Finally, the last incident is absolutely bonkers. One of the Low King's relatives was... well, mentally deficient with a great fixation on fencing and all the noble stories associated with them. He spent his childhood 'dueling' servants and slaves who were forced to lose by the elf's family. In his early adulthood, Gnyeath 'the brown bleeder' chose to challenge the Low King himself in a duel during a moment of false grandiose to 'claim the throne of Cairth'. He called the Low King a coward should he refuses this duel.

Despite his family's best efforts to keep the news from spreading but no avail. They pleaded and pleaded to the Low King not to duel Gnyeath, however, the Low King was cruel and stubborn... he accepted the challenge inviting everyone to the eternal palace.

Needless to say, the fight didn't last long. The first slash to his chest had caused the elf to empty his bowels right on the spot unleashing a deluge of brown water hence his nickname. The injury itself wasn't that lethal and yet it made him cry and wail in a most shameful display.

The Low king had the intention of killing the brown bleeder right there , however, this pathetic worm before him had convinced him otherwise. He ordered his arms to be dismembered as an ironic punishment for seeking the nobleman's sport with such punishment.

Damn, that's tough. Who are you going to shame this time?

>The Low King, obviously. He is cruel and maniacal getting provoked by a retard.

You blinked once and the gargantuan painting was suddenly gone leaving you in one gloomy dorm.

"Whats going on?" you asked one of the students who was muttering something under his breath.

"Someone broke into Miss Yuni's donation box and took ALL the pons! And by someone, I mean freakin bogza..." He had a bruise under his eye, was this the dude who tangled with your orc friend yesterday?

"Stop making taur out of your ass, now move." You had enough of this prick. Just because he is a orc, it doesn't mean that he is the number one suspect.

VELVET WORKSHOP

The workshop was eerily silent, what has White done this time?

"CANNONBAAAALLL!" Here comes your answer, rolling at the speed of light as a giant ball before crashing into a tower of junk, the rabbit-in-a-tux was buried under tons of scrap for like five secs before popping up in front of you.

Before you could react, the machine had exploded sending you flying across the workshop. Luckily for you, White had transformed into a large cushion so you won't get to break your neck or spine.

The downs along with the recycler were gone in a large ball of fire buuut two crispy items were waiting for you in the wreckage. It is not a bad haul, you expected more.

"Bad. VERY Bad. Need MAKKA to fix recycler... come back later."

It took you some convincing to take Maq with you to Alute; she wanted to have one of these 'girl talk' with Elenna instead.

"Oh, good to see you!" Tecig had to shout over the seas of customers "I... uh, I only have one apron. Maq, was it? Can you handle the cash register?"

" I will try." She nodded while wading through the customers to reach her new spot. You on the other hand were buzzing around with Tecig for a couple of hours without resting once.

All the fresh pies and other bakeries were the sole reason of this surge of business. The smell alone was mouthwatering, you can't imagine how will they taste like.

You thanked Tecig before leaving, you felt bad leaving him swarmed like so but you got some important business in Gabiel to finish first.

Two buses later, you reached your quiet destination, no one really wanted to see the mummified corpse of a royal fatass especially during the festivities. Still, there was some traction in this small square. They built several stylish spires around the pit for better view of the Last Low King of Cairth, the spires themselves had the names of the revolutionaries who didn't live to see the fruit of their bloody labor .Nice.

"One Ticket, please." You boldly reached your hand inside the booth , fully knowing that it is free as air and you were not disappointed by the somewhat melancholic elf cooped inside.

Needless to say, the colour orange and black dominated the scene, this place would really shine early in the morning not under the blanket of the night. Whatever. What are you gonna do first? Your Elven History Assignment wants YOU to do all the talking while filming his royal deadiness....and you didn't prep at all.

Alternatively, Aueri Aeternoon is supposed to be here but you can't spot her even when the place is not that crowded. They said something about her light guiding you ...eeeh?

You started by asking around first, which was a huge waste of time; no one had seen this mysterious masked lady. Your next course of action was heading to one of those spires, if anything, they would provide you with a good vantage point. It was at the very top where you had discovered something rather interesting...

One of those guide terminals appeared to be busted at the first glance, but it had one of those golden skelly faces. You kept pressing button after button at random until you realized that someone had hooked the light controls to said terminal... well, not exactly, juuust the shutters and the angulation of a single light on top of ANOTHER spire! What gives?

After burning a good number of your brain cells, you finished this 'puzzle' with flying colours. Yep, the light pointed towards a spire under construction with a golden visage at the very top.

The tricky part was to get inside unnoticed. Thankfully, there were a couple of engineers or construction workers calling it a day just in time. Nooo working elevator obviously... so you gotta stick to the endless set of stairs.

"Gah...gah,ugh." You were wheezing and panting by the time you took your last step. It took you a while to regain your breath.

"Just a..a sec..." There is one tall elf lady under that leather trench coat. As if her obscured hood wasn't enough, she hid her face under another golden skelly mask, the mysterious woman was unmoved by your poor first impression.

" It is a necessary part of testing the intellect of our members." came her cold, calculated reply.

"This is for you." Aeternoon opened a briefcase revealing a beautiful golden mask, you couldn't look away the moment you laid your eyes on it. The mask was so... mesmerizing with its intricate design. At this particular moment, something clicked inside you, something impossible to describe in short notice... a sense of worth? belonging? Words eludes you as you are overwhelmed by joy from its mere sight. You haven't even touch it yet!

"Welcome to Iustita Aurum, Domulus Aurola."

"I-i am sorry, what?" You were absorbed in thought.

" Your new name, Domulus. Cherish it." She patted you on the shoulder " As a Columnae-Tier member, you have weekly duties to fulfill for us. I won't overwhelm you with details but you have until this weekend to decide when will you dedicate some of your time to us. Here is my number, No rush. Ut in medium afferemus."

With these words said, The gilded woman had made her exit leaving you momentarily stunned. What had just happened? You are quite confused but not for long. You will call her later. Right now, you just wanna go home.

One would think that the traffic wouldn't be as atrocious by midnight but you were far from the truth. Gabiel was slightly manageable unlike Koris which was completely blocked off. You had to call Miss Yuni just in case, she is already under a lot of stress already. Eventually, you grew tired of sitting on your ass and decided to walk instead.

You took some weird shortcuts to reach the dorm, you rarely pass by that empty lot next to the dorm. It used to be part of the drug den that became your home thank to Miss Yuni. Technically speaking, your guardian could expand the dorm further if and only if she had more pons to do so. This poor fence had seen better days for sure, at least it is a bit sturdier than the one at the cemetery.

Huh, that's weird. The gate is half opened, maybe that orc hobo decided to squat there? Other Junkies perhaps? Against your better judgement, you approached the gate to see if there is anyone inside.

Meh, nothing but junk , junk, more junk and Veishu talking with Judge Cidgeth on a bench. Better lock the gate before any Hobo get the wrong idea.

Your dryad friend winced and recoiled upon seeing you, what gives? Judge Cidgeth, on the other hand, stood up to personally... greet you?

"Ah, you must be Johann." His handshake was quite firm and yet, it was exceptionally cold. You thought all of that armour would warm you up but that's not the case " Your friend had told me quite a lot about you. "

" H-he did?" Uh-oh , you are losing it " I-i am just a nobody, Sir Judge-sir."

" Never doubt yourself. " His soft words could level a mountain " Each and every one is destined to greatness. Only you can decide whether you want to reach the heavens to claim your rightful place among the stars... or be content with your mundane fate."

" I-i..."

"Rest easy, Johann... and look upon your friend." He briefly gazed at the first seed who actually looked like shit " I trust you with a heavy burden, one that I could not bear. Your friend is in dire need of guidance and serenity. "

"I don't understand." You slowly began to regain your composure because of how serious the situation had become.

" My words and actions are of little use here. Veishu needs the words of a true friend, He needs you. Please, bring comfort to his troubled soul."

The Judge had nothing more to say. The thuds of his armour had faded away as you took as seat next to the dryad. You noticed the white lilies in his hair were already withering away. His mask didn't hide how miserable he currently was right now.

Obviously, you had a lot of questions. Best to keep most of them inside for the time being.

"So... do you wanna talk ? "

"No." You could barely hear his faint whisper.

" I am not gonna pressure you or anything but when a Judge wants a literal who to chat with you...I don't know man, feels kinda important to me."

" I don't know where to begin. " He took a deep breath , still at loss of words.

"Easy Veishu, I am with you buddy."

"I... saw the serial killer. A vision , minutes before he.." You resisted the urge to throw up " I had no time, I went there to stop him b-but. I didn't, I couldn't.."

Veishu sank his fingers into his knees, almost tearing the fabric " I blinked and they were all dead. H-he walked away with a grin on his face. He saw me, Johann. He saw me and...a-and he just moved on because he knew that I am a coward... he knew that I couldn't do anything to do him. They died because of me."

>What did you expect to do right there, huh? Stop him?
>There was nothing you could do. Don't blame yourself.
>A coward wouldn't just throw himself at potential danger, right? You are more brave than you imagine.

" My 'bravery' didn't save anyone." He paused, eyes darting over another falling petal " As a Verannshu-Magarti, the stars had fed me one vision after another, each one leading me to..." The dryad hesitated to continue , nevertheless, he summoned his strength to utter a single word "... you."

"Dude, what?"

"My whole life is leading up to this moment, I told you my destiny was to undo the greatest wrong. I still don't know what it is but... but I will face it with you. " his voice betrayed his intentions " or so I thought..."

You sighed out of relief , this was getting awkward *real* fast. His last words were quite foreboding though.

"...Johann, Satha has spoken to me or through me." his eyes were just tired, tired of everything and everyone.

"You are joking, right?" No one was laughing "How in the moon could this-HOW?"

" I don't know." He admitted, unable to meet your eyes " He told me a lot, that the Moon priestess and the next Sibyl in line were murdered.. One saw too much and the other was violated." Oh shit, He is legit.

"And?"

It was like pulling teeth with him for a damn good reason "... and he wants me to be his Moon-wed, to be his Moon Priestess. He warned me of 'great ruin' if I ignored his calling."

"This is wrong on sooo many levels. The Holy Lune would have a field day with you."

"Do you think this is easy for me???" a spark of fuming anger was consuming his feeble soul "My world, split apart by powers beyond you and me. The stars, the cosmos and now the Moon whispering in my head!"

" Shit, I am sorry Veishu. I really am. It is just... it is so bizarre, you know. Hard to believe what is going on."

"I am in a limbo, my doubt is clouding my mind. Judge Cidgeth said that he will support me against the Holy Lune but... should I? Abandoning my Kin, my status as the first seed, my destiny and... you?"

Poor Veishu, even Judge Cidgeth couldn't help him. He stands a crossroad, unable to choose the right path.

~Your empyreal eye sees two silhouettes behind Veishu~

A hornless dryad in a white robe watching over you and Cairth, content with his lot in life.

A ... Moonlit Hunter? He stands by you and other hunters but something doesn't seem to be right. His silhouette is flickering, Is he unable to fulfill his destiny alongside you? The many eyes of Ruin pierce his fading silhouette.

>>
>>4979688
>>4979724

Before saying anything, You thought about it rationally:

-Nudging Veishu to be a Moon Priest(ess)? might be for the good of Cairth if Satha isn't pulling his tail. You would trust Veishu to basically lead the Holy Lune instead of whoever they have in line (assuming that the trials will run smoothly in the first place). His silhouette was at peace, maybe this is the true path for him?

However, this is a huge sacrifice on his end, he will turn his back on his people and religion. He will leave the dorm and Garsis, he will be out of your circle for good unless he somehow managed to see you in one way or another. He probably won't be able to have any vision AND he won't be a Moonlit hunter. It is only you, Maq and Kaz... having him would be a huge help to save the world from Ruin and Hnnnnng!

-Nudging Veishu to be (eventually) a Moonlit Hunter is awesome. He will get to enact his destiny and stand by your side until the end... yes, the end. The ominous eyes of Ruin piercing him like was quite concerning, Veishu isn't exactly the fighting type kinda guy... also what about Satha's call and the whole 'great ruin?' What will happen if Veishu just ignore it?

There is no right option here, there is one which is a bit selfish and another which is not. Only the robed silhouette is glowing, the other is barely visible.

Unlike other celestial bonds, you didn't feel any connection with Veishu... maybe the time is not right. Regardless, the dryad is steeled by your words " How can I turn my back on everything I cared for ? This was foolish of me."

"Are you sure? Not every day the freaking moon speaks to you."

"More than ever." He gave you a solid nod. The spell of doubt was finally dispelled partly thanks to you " I don't know where this path will take me but I will commit to it, all the way. Oh, you are hungry?"

The growling of your stomach was a dead giveaway "... no?"

" Come on, I will make some ashen soup for us." You can tell he was smiling under the mask. Well, you can't say no to free food.

Over this very late dinner, you learned that Judge Cidgeth visits Veishu roughly once a month to check on him. The Allmother herself seems to be extra worried about her shy son. Lucky, Lucky Veishu...

"Goodnight Johann, and thanks." You muttered something back as you dropped dead in your pod. Man, what. a. day.

There was a certain gloom infesting the dorm, the broken donation box had laid the final smackdown on Miss Yuni. She didn't even bother to replace it with another, what is the point? the asshat will also break into this one too. She didn't have it in her heart to point fingers at anyone unlike other students who took it upon themselves to find who is responsible.

Bogza is the number one suspect so far. Nothing solid on him just yet but the tension is already brewing, you hear 'patchskin' thrown around here and there. The jubilation of the festivities has worn off.

Likewise, the White Stag is turning the world upside down trying to find who had enough balls to attack her. You see more of her boys roaming the streets, though, you can't really call them thugs like Vartel's men.

One call later, you somehow convinced Kaz to free up his day for discussing the matter at hand. There was a lot of back and forth with Maq as well, She had other plans with Elenna today and She wasn't happy about abandoning them but duty calls for everyone.

The Sanctuary was full of grumpy and hungry hunters, eager to listen to what you had in mind. You started from the beginning , stating every single detail.

"... and that's why I think he should join us, Guys?"

Both Kaz and Maq thought deeply in their own way before reply "What if Ruin manipulated his thoughts? I find it really hard to believe that Satha would call a non-elf. It has never happened before." the elf paced around the garage, letting a steady stream of words " Satha's calling is a ruse, an attempt from Ruin to deprive us of a potential ally."

"So you are cool with him joining us?" you asked enthusiastically.

" I didn't say that. I said a potential ally. While I respect his position in the real world as a Verannshu-Magarti. I fear he will be a liability in the Moonworld."

"What Kaz is trying to say is that Veishu is a coward." Maq stated it plainly " He doesn't know how to fight, he has weak and submissive personality falling under anyone's whim. We will continue to face hardship while purging the other sins. What does he have to offer on the table? Nothing."

" Come on guys, don't say that! I saw what he is capable of... kinda? It was all fuzzy, only the Moon priestess route was clearer." You are not making a great argument.

"Johann, We can't take any risks right now. I fully understand his sympathy towards you but having him onboard might expose our identity or worse... he might get us killed."

Your fellow hunters aren't buying it, this is not good. You need to convince them otherwise because the alternative is just dropping the whole thing.

Adding to this:

>Veishnu is a genius when it comes to botany, dryad lore and has future visions. Fighting is not everything regarding the Moonworld. Remember the Swamp I went with you, maq? I am sure he would be able to negotiate more easily with the Shadows there. He wont be a liability to the team.

>Besides it is too dangerous to get in the Moonworld with an undermanned party. He would be able to cover when either of you is too busy to come.

>Finally...there is a very big posibility I bite it before the year ends. Gang war, actual wsr, car accident, you name it. Veishnu seems like the most mystically attuned of the people I know. If there is anyone who can develop the ability to form gates between this world and the Moonlands it is him. This can also apply to both of you. Times are pretty fucking dangerous right now and will turn even worst as the worlds merge. We couldnt have defeated Ruin with only 2 people. We wont have any hope against the next Sin if we suffer a casualty.

You made quite a comeback with your rebuttal leaving your fellow hunters on the fence about Veishu.

" I don't like this..." Kaz replied "but I am afraid I must concede. Nandrake... he has the potential to be a fine hunter, Maq?"

Kaz got a muffled grumble out of her. Defeated, She stared at you both " One mistake and he will pay for it. One betrayal and I will kill him with my own hands."

"Woah Maq, take it easy." Her old tendencies flared up all of the sudden "You wouldn't kill Kaz, right?"

"The thought has crossed my mind." Yeesh, you were waiting for an explosive response from the redhead but you got none.

"Understandable. I will admit, my entrance was quite sus-" a fit of cough had possessed your elven friend to the point that his eyes became teary. Yet, Kaz smiled after surviving this small ordeal.

" Ah, a gentle reminder of my upcoming doom. I didn't take my recent health into consideration. When the time comes, the Moonlit Hunters must have a proper replacement... one who is blessed with good health."

It was then when you heard a gentle knock on the garage door. Cautiously, you slide it open only to reveal one particular dyrad.

Veishu.

"Hello, may I come in?" He earned a couple of gazes from your friends as you let him in "Good to see you, Kazeyrl . I wouldn't say I am surprised to see you here....

.... among other Moonlit Hunters."

In a blink, Maq pinned him to the wall with her relatively superior strength, her elbow nearly crushing his windpipe "What is your angle here, hmm? "

Unlike Kaz who offered some resistance when he first came here, Veishu was helpless as they come "P-please... l-let m.e-expl.."

The Dryad's body went limp shortly afterwards before you and Kaz could intervene. Luckily, no one was out there in the street. You had to slide down the garage door quickly for obvious reasons.

"He is knocked out. His body is weaker than mine, how ironic." Kaz quickly checked his pulse while hiding his pure anger against this irresponsible act. You too were about to pop a vein, she could have killed him!

>Just what the fuck do you think you are doing, Maq?!

" He knows too much, unless you have already spilled our secrets..." You don't like that look in her eyes, almost predatory-like.

"How in the? Ugggh. You don't make any sense!"

"His visions might have led him to us, or rather, to Johann. Johann is not stupid enough to expose us like so." Finally, Kaz was the voice of reason in this heated discussion.

"What is done is done." She had zero remorse in her words " What should we do with him? We can't leave him like that."

"I suggest waiting until he wakes up... and Maq, I expect a sincere apology from your end." said Kaz, he didn't mind her scornful gaze unlike you.

"A trial by fire is our best option." Maq had something else in mind "He will make up in the Moonworld, it will be easier to explain what is going on. I wouldn't shed a tear if he accidentally perished in my homeworld."

MOONWORLD

SATHA/DA'AT

TIME 122/122

Ah yes, the desolate wasteland that is... well, the Moonlands. The Bench was half consumed by overgrown flesh and lollipops for some reason. The surrounding area had no nearby shadows though that might change real quick with how frequent the landscape shifts and churns.

"What are you doing?" Kaz stopped you in your tracks as your were temped to remove Veishu's mask.

"I dunno. Kinda want to see what does he look like."

"Don't. You will ruin his life." He stood between you and him.

"Pffft, you can't be serious."

"I am. According to his religion, his face should only be revealed to the love of his life. The person who will complete him. Unless..."

"Stop that!" Damn it Kaz you smug, smug bastard "What are we gonna do now anyways? No trial by fire , Maq."

" My sister awaits us." She suggested, albeit miffed.

>Wait until Veishu wakes up [ 27 TIME]
>Go to ??? [ 27 TIME ]
>Go to somewhere else [Specify]
