It is a time of peace. With Lord Freeza’s explosive declaration, naming himself Emperor of the Universe after single-handedly obliterating the Covenant stronghold High Charity, peace has come to the universe. Not wanting to stand against him and his unstoppable Super Saiyans, within days of his declaration the universe bent the knee. And while there are always outliers, those stubborn or foolish enough to try and resist, the overwhelming majority of the universe is bending the knee. And he wouldn’t have achieved all this, defeated the strongest military in the universe and survived the Prophet’s ultimate weapon without your help.

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest, the story of an alternate timeline in the greater Dragonball EU. Currently it is Age 749 and you the players control Karn: once an ordinary Saiyan warrior with a meager powerlevel of 2,830 who has risen to become a mighty Super Saiyan, and so much more. Throughout your many adventures, the “Dragon of New Salda” has grown into the symbol of Saiyan might and power recognized actoss the universe. Now as a PTO general with a powerlevel of over 48 million, and close friend and confidant of Lord Freeza himself, Karn has become his people’s greatest champion.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

After sparring Meloka, Karn and his family, along with his old man Tatsu went out and ate a meal together. Sitting with his old man Karn told Tatsu and several older vets of his idea for making a training world for future Saiyans, a world of death to hone their talent and instincts as Planet Vegeta had done for you all. Once the meal was over Karn sent the kids off to train together while he and Meloka trained their students, then King Vegeta reappeared as a Primal Saiyan and the two fought. After a tremendous battle where both Karn and Vegeta pushed each other past their limits, Karn was again visited in his dreams by Mechikabura before waking, only for Chaya’s friend Tanya to then be attacked by the Kai-in-training Kars! As we rejoin Karn, Kars’ attempted knockout failed, and Tanya has awoken a new power.

“You’ll pay for that!” Tanya shouts, golden energy radiating from her as she holsters her pistol, picks up the chainsaw-bayoneted rifle from where she dropped it, and opens fire. But as she does, Kars again summons his golden Stand, this time behind him. “Eat lead bastard!”
“Za Warudo.” Kars says with a snap of his fingers, you expecting everything to grind to a halt. However, as he shouts his Stand’s name, you feel the seal on your hand start burning. Much to yours, and clearly Kars’ surprise as well, Tanya’s attack doesn’t let up! She continues firing a hailstorm of bullets at the apprentice Kai, spent shell casings freezing midair as they’re ejected from the rifle yet her bullets seem unaffected. Za Warudo intervenes, it’s body shielding Kars’ from the vicious assault. “Ohhh? You can move freely in stopped time as well?”

“I’ll kill you!” Tanya snarls as her rifle’s magazine runs empty, the girl dropping in and boosting straight up into the sky. You notice her boots have golden-glowing gems in the knees, same as that medallion around her neck while she draws a longer, possibly Covenant-make rifle off her back. Kars let’s his Stand disappear, all of Tanya’s shell casings and the rifle that fired them all finallt dropping to the ground at once as time resumes. He then begins flaring his fiery, godly aura up, crouching in anticipation of dashing up after her. Which Tanya sees, and clearly does not approve. “Oh no you don’t!”

As she levels her cannon at Kars, your instincts suddenly scream that you’re in serious danger too!

What do you do?
>Instant Transmission behind Tanya, hopefully you’re fast enough
>Barrier, shield yourself from her next attack
>Dash aside, and hope you can avoid whatever hellstorm she’s about to unleash
>Ascend immediately into your Berserker state, use your full power to try and withstand this next attack

“Nope, not getting hit by that.” you think to yourself, turning away from Kars and launching yourself away. With two steps you’re clear off the beach, flying over the calm morning sea before turning back to see what’s happening.
“DIE!!” Tanya snarls firing her Covenant glassing cannon-like beam as Kars tries leaping towards her. His Stand Za Warudo appears between him and the beam, but unlike with her rifle’s shots, this time it couldn’t shield Kars. Her overwhelming beam slams into the Stand, and blasts both it and Kars straight down into the ground.

“Woah!” you exclaim, bracing yourself against the blast’s shockwave. Her blast was far more powerful than you’d expected, it even rocking your home as Tanya continues pouring on the blast. Her beam continues for a dozen seconds or so before finally coming to an end, leaving a giant, smoking hole where Kars had been standing moments ago. “The hell?”
“Try and touch me again, you slimy bastard!” she shouts, clearly still fuming at the Kai-in-training. Then without any retort, she fires her powerful glassing cannon down on him again. Her beam fires again for another dozenish seconds or so before ending as well, you wondering if that’s the minimum, or the maximum amount of time her weapon can shoot for?

“Look o-!” you start to shout as Kars just appears right behind Tanya, doubtlessly his “Kai-Kai” teleportation technique you’ve seen him use before. But Tanya is clearly ready for him, whirling around into a right turning kick for the apprentice Kai’s head. However, Kars isn’t phased, a curved blade springing out from his left forearm and he slashed at Tanya’s foot. Her metal boot crashes against the deity’s blade, sparks flying as the two struggle to overpower each other. Tanya, realizing she cannot overpower the god-in-training twists, raising the flat of her left foot towards him and fires a burst of that golden energy into his face. “-Out.”
“GAAAAH?!” Kars shouts in surprise as Tanya backflips away, again leveling her rifle at him. She’s clearly about to fire again, despite Kars being seemingly unharmed from the earlier blasts. You have a moment now to interfere, should you choose to.

But what will you do?
>Transform into your Ascended Berserker form, rush into the air and attack Kars yourself
>Transform into your Ascended Berserker form, fly up beside Tanya but don’t attack. Ask Kars why he’s here and what he thinks he’s doing

No regrets, Karn.
>>

Jokes on Kars, he can't do anything with it since he's a god.
>>
>>4940844
Honestly, since his body is far weaker than ours, and proper God Ki and Berserker Ki are incompatible... If he uses it, he might end up just fucking exploding his soul and killing himself.
>>
>>4940735
“GRRRRRAAAAAAAA!!” you roar, green aura exploding up around you as your body expands and transforms. For a split second you feel the usual sensation of your body tearing itself apart, but then it passes as usua and leaves you in your current strongest form. Then with minimal effort kick off the waves, flying up beside Tanya between her and Kars, not blocking her shot but clearly interjecting yourself into their fight. “Alright, that’s enough, Kars. What the hell do you think you’re doing, attacking someone under my protection?”

“The Supreme Kai sent me out here, searching for the one who stole divine power.” he answers with casual ease, retracting the blade into his left forearm. But before he can answer a familiar portal appears beside him, the form of New Salda’s Guardian floating through it.
“You mean like you did, with my predecessor’s?” she replies scathingly, both sets of eyes glowing red with her demonic energy. “And why I wasn’t informed of this?”
“This was supposed to be a simple extraction, I find the culprit and take them back to the world of the Kais without drawing attention.” Kars says, holding his open hands down by his sides, palms up. Yet despite the gesture of surrender, you feel he’s up to something. “But it would seem that you’ve ingrained yourself quite favorably amongst these people. So instead of force, I’ll have to-“

And as he’s talking, you see his golden Stand appear behind him, you suddenly realizing what he’s about to do. But before you can say anything, he activated his Stand’s ability.

“Za Warudo.” Kars says, and again stops time. He immediately dashes forward, putting your body between him and Tanya as he rushes in. Following Tanya’s ki you sense her dashing straight up from behind you trying to get a shot on Kars. He closes the distance between you, and aims a chop at the side of your neck to knock you unconscious when time resumes. But what he was least expecting is you reaching out, and catching his hand with your left at the last second as the back of your right hand burns. “Wh-wha-?!”
“HAAAA!!” you roar, swinging your right fist into Kars’s chest. You feel bones breaking from your punch, Kars coughing up blood from the impact. And instead of sending him flying from the hit you kept ahold of him with your left. Then you pull your fist back, and swing again.

“Za Warudo!” Kars spits, his golden Stand appearing just in time to intercept the blow with it’s crossed arms. Despite your power, without summoning Divine Dragon Force for the struke you couldn’t actually hurt Za Warudo. Yet your powerful blow knocks Kars out of your grip, the Kai in training soaring back a dozen or so yards back before coming to a stop. “Tch. Your power has grown, Saiyan. I didn’t think I’d have to use this today.”

>>4940901
“Wait, what?” you ask, suddenly worried about whatever trick the immortal has up his sleeves. But before he can do anything, Tanya again fires her cannon.
“I have figured out the secret to a su-“ he starts, Tanya’s beam of overwhelming energy slamming down onto him from above. “GYAAAAAAA!!”
“Thanks for the assist.” she says to you after her beam ends, having shot Kars down into the sea. “But how are we supposed to stop him? This is my strongest gun.”
“I don’t know if we-“ you start answering her, but then you sense something. From down in the sea, you realize you can suddenly feel Kars’s ki. And it keeps growing. “Wait, what?”

https://youtube.com/watch?v=0ai_eCehLiA

“Is he...?” Tanya asks you, fear and trepidation in her voice as you both see a golden glow suddenly appearing from beneath the waves. “No, that’s impossible! He can’t be!”
“No way.” you say, shocked as Kars begins rising from beneath the waves. Golden ki radiates out from his body as Kars ascends into the sky, golden hair waving in the breeze his tremendous power is kicking up as he rises to your level. The Kai turns to face you, green eyes gleaming beneath golden brows as he smirks.

“Super Saiyan. Such an interesting transformation.” Kars says, clenching his fist a few times. “This power of your species is truly a wonderous thing.”

He...He copied Super Saiyan?! What will you do about this? What can you do about this?

I'm excited about this. I wanted to test Karn's power against Kars'. Finally. I feel this is going to be a good fight.

By the way I think we just gave Kars the Energy Body technique.

Anyway since he is using the Saiyan power now I wonder if he will also discover the thrill of fight that almost every Saiyan knows. Even Zamasu as Goku Black could not ignore it in his stolen body.

“HRRRAAAA!!” you roar, blasting towards the golden aura’d form of Kars. While dashing forward you focus, drawing your emerald aura in instead of letting it flare wildly and focusing it into your Energy Body. Sparks keep dancing around your body as you fly, Kars bracing himself for your opening attack. “HRRRAAAAA!!”
“Tsss!” he hisses as your fist slams into his crossed arms, and despite Kars’ physical power increase your opening punch sends him flying. But Kars recovers, flipping backwards once then blasting back towards you as you keep charging forward. “HRR!”

Kars’ fist swings for your face, and to his surprise you make no effort to evade his blow. His fist crashes against your shielded brow, your energy absorbing most of his strike’s power. So much so you don’t even feel it, and charge through Kars’ attack.

“Wh-Wha-?!” he starts, that moment of shock giving you enough time to slam your massive right fist into his face. “GUUAAAAH?!!”
“RRRRAAAAAA!!” you bellow, following your right with a left overhead hammer fist. Your second blow sends Kars straight down, crashing down into the waves far below.
“Damn.” Tanya says, you glancing back towards the young woman as she talks. However, that moment of distraction is all it takes, Kars suddenly reappearing beside you and slams his right knee into your left temple. And despite your Energy Body eating most of it, your head still snaps a bit to the side from the raw force. You twist back against the force of it, throwing a right uppercut towards Kars but he was ready. This time, instead of taking the hit he elegantly twists fully around clockwise, dodging around your fist.

“A simple trick.” Kars retorts, following that up with a turning left kick. Again you tank his blow, barely feeling it as you try attacking the opening. But Kars doesn’t fully commit to that attack, instead using his leg to kick off you and dodge your counter attack. He dodges your follow-up left with seeming ease, twisting around your fist and slamming his right fist square into your jaw. “But such a technique must have it’s limit. How many hits can your armor take?”
“HAAAAAA!!!” you shout, jerking your left back into an elbow aimed for Kars’ temple. Yet again he dodges, flipping backwards. This time he doesn’t follow with an attack, instead getting some distance between you both. “Heh. If you had some actual power behind your punches, you may be able to. But at this level of power, I’d fall asleep before you could break through it.”

“Your arrogance is your greatest weakness.” Kars says with a smirk, then vanishes right before your eyes! However, as he’s vanishing, you suddenly sense his ki right behind you!
cont

>>4941106
“Haa!” you shout, twisting around and swinging your right. Just as Kars appears, your right palm slams into his face, your fingers wrapping around his head. “Too easy. HRRRAAAaa!!”

And you swing, left fist slamming into and througj his chest.

“Guuaah?!” Kars exhales, you tearing your fist free. Then swing a powerful left uppercut, dropping his head just before your left fist slams into his neck and tears through Kars’ neck and skull. The immortal’s blood and bits of bone and skin spray everywhere, Kars’ body dropping out of the sky.
“Don’t you-! Huh?” Raven suddenly shouts, you turning towards her and seeing her looking around, confused. “Where did he go?”
“You missed all the fun, Karn killed that bastard.” Tanya says, Raven turning towards you both confused. “Sent him down to a watery grave.”
“Killed him? You, you really?” she asks, then suddenly her gaze snaps down towards the waves. Less than a second later you sense Kars’ mortal ki again, the sea lighting up golden once more as he rises from the depths. To no surprise he’s already recovered from your attacks, and looks as if nothing had happened.

“Now, killed may be a bit of an exaggeration, but you certainly got me good there.” he says with ease, as if you hadn’t just obliterated his head with a single punch. “Not bad.”
“Karn, you can’t attack a Kai in lawful execution of their duties.” Raven says, a note of worry in her voice.
“Why not?” you ask, curious. “I killed that damn Time Kai at Chilli’s wedding.”
“You what?!” Kars asks, the sudden intensity in his voice catching you a bit off guard. “You, you killed her?”
“You WHAT?” comes another voice, you turning and seeing the Supreme Kai and his larger, red-skinned apprentice hovering in the air. “Tell me I did not hear you say what I thought you said.”

Well, this just got more interesting. What do you do?

“You heard me right. I killed her.” you say, turning to face the Supreme Kai before you fully. “There was more than one of her, but the one I hit died. The rest retreated shortly after.”
“Impossible. The Supreme Kai of Time has control over time itself!” the red-skinned Kai shouts. “There’s no way any attack you could land on her would-!”
“Are you sure about that?” you ask him, feeling a smirk come to your face. “Do you want to come try me, and find out for yourself?”
“Oh yes, please do so.” Kars says smugly. “I would just love to see you fight him. I wonder, would you survive two punches? Or three?”

“Kars, that is quite enough.” the Supreme Kai snaps at him, clearly annoyed at Kars before returning his focus to you. “I don’t think you realize yet what you’ve done.”
“I know exactly what I did.” you answer, a bit of heat in your voice. “I killed a bitch who was trying to ruin my son’s wedding, and had her thugs attempting to murder me and my family. She got exactly what she deserved.”
“You dare-?!” the red-skinned man shouts, the Supreme Kai holding his hand up and silencing his assistant.

“If you don’t believe me.” you continue, getting all three of the divine creatures’ attention. “You can always ask Vox to watch the footage for yourselves. He had a couple of his cameras there filming what happened, thanks to Chaya and Raditz bringing them along.”
“You-you filmed yourself desecrating a Kai?!!” the red Kai shouts, his face looking more purple from his continued outrage. He looks like he’s about to explode. “You insolent little-!”
“Insult me one more time.” you interrupt, placing the first two fingers of your right hand to your forehead and Instant Transmission right behind him. Then before he knows where you went reach out, grab his entire head in your left hand, and squeeze enough to make it hurt. “And I’ll kill you too. Do you understand me, you worthless, so-called god?”

“I wonder what the inside of his head looks like?” Kars says casually, clearly indifferent to the fate of his “fellow” deity. “I’d wager it truly is empty.”
“Kars, please. You are not helping.” the Supreme Kai says with a sigh, then turns fully around to you. “Karn, would you please release Kibito? He is still young, and let’s his emotions drive his judgement.”
“Hmph.” you reply, releasing Kibito and ignoring him, turning towards the head Kai. “So. How are we going to handle this?”

“While Tanya there has clearly stolen divine power, now that I see her for myself, her power wasn’t stolen unfairly.” the Supreme Kai says. “I can see evidence of divine meddling. The deity who claimed her power stolen, clearly gifted it to her and tried to use it for control. That she bettered him is his own fault, and not of the mortal who resisted. Violating the free will of mortals is strictly against our rules.”

He then turns to Tanya, and to your surprise bows at the waist to her. This surprises you, Kibito, Raven, Kars, and even Tanya.

“Forgive us for the trouble we caused you.” he says, then rises back upright. “My apologies. Kars, Kibito.”
“Kai-Kai.” the red Kai says, and they both vanish.
“Well, I’ll be seeing you Karn. Tanya. Until next time, Kai-Kai.” Kars says, and vanishes as well. Well, it seems that this is...over?

“Haaaah.” Tanya sighs out, that golden glow fading from her form. Her ki wavers for a second or two, but then her energy stabilizes.
“You okay?” you ask, drifting over towards her, concerned. You notice Raven doesn’t get any closer, but watches Tanya with a concerned glare as you approach.
“I-I’m fine.” she says, holding out a hand to stop you as she struggles to catch her breath. “Just. Just give me a moment. Using this new rig’s full potential takes a whole lot out of me.”
“I see.” you say, Tanya recovering over the next minute or so. During that time Raven makes her portal back, and flies back through. “Feeling better?”

“Yes sir.” she answers, giving a proper salute. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to work.”
“Speaking of, what were you doing here so early in the first place?” you ask her, the two of you flying back down to the ground where she picks up her discarded rifle, and the bag she’d dropped when Kars tried sneak-attacking her. “Haven’t seen you around in awhile.”
“Was just getting some of my things.” she answers you after a moment, not meeting your gaze. “Been going over my supplies, and realized I was missing a few things.”
“Need a hand with anything?” you ask her, Tanya freezing a bit in place. “I can help you carry over anything else you haven’t gotten yet.”

“No, I’m fine. I can get it all myself.” she replies after a moment’s hesitation. Her hesitation does catch your attention, but you decide to just let it go instead of inquiring any further.
“Alright. If you need a hand with anything, let me know.” you say, turning to the giant hole her attack’d left outside your ship. Peering down over the edge, you can’t see the bottom. Her cannon is quite impressive, no doubt something Vox’s people put together out of Covenant tech. But then a thought creeps into your mind: how deep is this hole? Did her beam breach down far enough to get into the ruins? Should you go down there and check, or just leave it alone?

Well? What do you do now?

“No, not yet.” you mutter to yourself, turning away from the pit. Instead you turn back towards the ship, and drift up and inside. Floating back inside to your room and sliding your door open, you see your family all still asleep. Everyone but Okira, who’s looking around groggily. You drift over to her, and pat your little girl on the head with your giant hand. “Hey kiddo. Stay quiet, okay? I just gotta get a few things.”
“Mrmmm?” she mumbles groggily, rubbing her eyes.
“Shhh, shhh, lay back down.” you whisper, gently laying her back down. “Go back to bed kiddo.”

“Mmmmmhmmmm.” she mumbles, curling up against her big sister Caulifla. You turn from her, grabbing a suit of your armor and donning it then grabbing your weapons as well. And you also grab your Soulstone, tucking it away if you need that massive store of ki as well. Just in case. “Mmmmm.”

“Sleep tight kiddo.” you mutter, floating out the door and again shutting the door behind you. With both your hammer and sword on your back, gem inside your boot’s pocket and all warmed up from your brawl with Kars, you feel ready for whatever could be at the bottom of that new pit. Once back outside the ship, you stand at the edge of the pit, readying yourself to face whatever’s down there. “Alright. Let’s go.”

Flaring your aura back up, you then leap down into the pit. Your emerald aura illuminates the pit, you letting gravity do it’s thing and carry you down. Deeper and deeper you go, looking up you can barely see the hole’s entrance anymore.

“Huh, this is deeer than I-“ you say to yourself, then immediately the tunnel widens. You now longer see the walls, the space you’re falling into surprisingly large. Your aura does little to illuminate this massive space, you slowing your fall to hover in the air. “Thought.”

“Thought thought thought thought.” your voice echoes, the sound giving you a taste of the scale of this space. It always takes you by surprise such a place was underneath your feet for so long without you all ever noticing. Without that crashed Covenant siege ship breaking through, and Fu’s interference, you doubt that you all would have ever learned of it. But then your instincts again warn you that you’re in danger. However, it can’t find a source, the feeling of danger is all around you. Then out of the corner of your right eye, you see something moving at the edge of your aura. Turning towards it you see a massive ball of darkness headed right for you!

“SHIT!” you shout, twisting aside as the dark orb flies right at you. Narrowly turning aside, the mass of dark energy soars right through where you’d been hovering. Oh, this isn’t good. This isn’t good at all.

“The hell was that?” you say, not worried about stealth in the slightest. Not like you’re a giant glowing target in a void of darkness or anything. Instead, knowing the direction that dark shot was fired from, you decide to return fire. Gathering emerald energy into your right palm, you sling your ki out into the void. Your Scattershot bursts into dozens of smaller emerald lights, shrinking from balls the size of your fists to pinpoints of light before exploding in bursts of light against a wall of some sort. But you didn’t see anything, or anyone who could’ve been responsible for it. Where is it?

“Karn, what are you doing?” Raven asks you telepathically, no doubt sensing you unleashing your power. “What’s going on?”
“Something shot at me down here.” you reply, keeping your head on a swivel to try and see the next shot before it gets too close. “The hole Tanya made went all the way down into some sort of chamber, and I’m not alone down here. Something or someone’s firing what looks like dark magic at me.”
“Let me get something to help, and I’ll be right there.” she replies, ending the link. Leaving you with whatever it is that doesn’t like you down here.

“Enough games. Show yourself!” you roar, flaring your aura higher and trying to illuminate more of the room. But it’s useless, this space is simply massive. Easily the size of the inside of the Lucrehulk’s wings, if not even larger judging from your Scattershot, there’s a lot of space in here for something to hide from you. You’re going to have to try something else to find your attacker.

But what?
>Try Meloka’s technique again, and spread your energy out wide from your body to try and “see” your surroundings as you fly through this space
>Activate your Barrier, then Super Barrier if necessary to illuminate a far wider area and hopefully find your attacker
>Keep flying downwards while creating an ever-larger ball of ki bomb overhead to try illuminating the darkness
>Reach out to New Salda and focus on the link between you, then see if your enhanced senses can find this mystery assailant
>Multiform, split into four then have each of you toss weaker Scattershots around until one of ‘you’ finds the source of that dark magic

“Dammit.” you say, relaxing a moment and letting your aura fade back down to its more normal levels. “Alright. Let’s try this then.”

Closing your eyes, you focus on your aura and begin drawing it in, the glow nearly fading from your body. Pressing your hands palms-together, you then extend your arms out to your sides, expanding your aura out around you on all sides. Your ki spreads out from you body, forming a rapidly-growing sphere. It quickly spreads out to a ball nearly twice as wide across as your spread arms. And before you even open your eyes, you can feel another dark projectile entering into your aura from the left.

“Too slow.” you say, floating backwards a couple feet and opening your eyes. Again you see a ball of darkness flying towards you, and as you keep backing up notice the shot is actually curving a bit towards you. It can’t turn quite enough to actually hit you, but with your aura spread out so you have a better idea the direction it came from. So you begin drifting down, headed down at the angle the shadowy ball of darkness fired up at you from. “You can’t get away from me.”

As you drop lower and lower, you feel the water with your aura before you actually dive down the last four-ish yards into it yourself. Feeling the water below you stop, hovering a few yards above the underground lake.

“Huh. Now this could be an issue.” you say, curious as to where your attacker had gone. But as you sit there thinking about it, suddenly you feel another dark projectile being fired at your back! Turning around you see another large, slow-moving mass of darkness, and again easily drift around it. Then you dash towards where the shot was fired from, However, after flying for several seconds and feeling a solid wall at the edge of your aura, this doesn’t bring you any closer to finding your assailant. Whoever it is, they have to be hiding under the water, and silently popping up and out of it to attack you. Again you sense a mass of darkness entering your aura from behind, you turning and dodging aside. Watching as the dark mass slams into the wall beside you, faintly illuminated by your expanded aura, you watch the dark orb splatter across the stones and coat in in a shadowy, almost fluid-like substance. You’re not sure what that attack actually is, or does, but something tells you that you don’t want to get hit by it. However, you still have a serious problem; you still don’t know who, or what, is trying to attack you down here!

Well, what do you plan on doing about that?
>Take a deep breath, and dive. Start exploring underwater with your aura spread wide, and hopefully find your assailant
>End Meloka’s technique, flare your aura up around you and dive in. Find your attacker with your eyes in the still-seeming water

“Well then, let’s see how this works.”you mutter, gathering just enough energy into your hand to fire off another Scattershot. While gathering your energy, you also focus on leaving your aura spread out around you. And while it’s difficult, and takes a few extra seconds to do so, you manage to gather a Scattershot into your hand without dropping Meloka’s technique. “Can’t hide from me forever. Let’s see how you like this.”

You pitch the orb of ki down, it splitting the instant it hits the water. Your ball of energy becomes a few dozen, each glowing emerald orb illuminating the dark water for dozens of feet around them as they sink lower and lower beneath the waves. After a few seconds of nothing, you then see it! A dark shape darts through the water between you and your blasts!

“There you are!” you snarl, clenching your fist and detonating your Scattershot. The dozens of tiny orbs all explode at once, the blasts barely illuminating the creature just before your orbs’ shockwaves slam into it. Simultaneously you take a deep breath, and dive down into the water. It is ice cold, your fingertips numbing almost instantly as you blitz down towards that creature you’d seen. You carve a path through the water, and after a second feel the creature’s body brush against your aura to your left. Immediately turning, you dash after it, clearly faster than than this being. And as you close in, you get your first glimpse at your attacker while trying to sense it’s suppressed ki.

The creature is vaguely humanoid in shape, flesh twisted and mangled, and has no eyes inside it’s empty sockets. Yet you can distinctly feel the creature’s gaze upon you, dark energy gathering around the end of the stick it carries. And before you can react, a cloud of darkness begins spraying from the being’s staff. That cloud of inky blackness spreads quickly through the water, rushing forward to completely envelop you. Yet your instincts warn you against this, and immediately clap your hands together with your full power.

BOOM

The shockwave formed from the force of your clap blasts the darkness back, knocking both it and the creature far back away from you. It disappears in the darkness, leaving you unsure of your next move. If you try pursuing it immediately, you could dash right back into that darkness your instincts warned you was dangerous. But if it gets away, it’ll be able to keep firing dark magic at you, and perhaps one will actually hit you. But what’s worse, is that whatever this thing is, it isn’t actually alive. You could smell the decay in the water as you closed in on it, and knowing what you’re up against doesn’t make you feel any more confident in this. You’re really growing to dislike fighting against the undead.

Undead could mean a lot of things.
Is it just a corpse reanimated via necromancy?
Is it a creature afflicted by the Undead Curse that just happened to get hollowed out?
Does it have something to do with its obvious connection to The Dark?
Also I love that Karn's first instinct was to do a Thunderclap. The signature move of all jolly green giants.

Honestly amazed faggots like this exist desu. Its incredible they manage to chew their own food and not have it spoon fed to them in a mush.

Nothing to cope about given the litterally opposite of that picture happened. Like, I get your sad, lonely, and desperatly reaching out for any affection and attention you can get, but if your gunna go through the effort to make a meme, you could atleast try making a semi accurate one. Or were you too much of a hack to make even that shitty meme and you had to steal it from Reddit?

QM UPDATE

Five posts in on the intermission, can’t wait to finally show you all the Broly vs Chaya fight. It’s going to be a really good one. Also, from here on out, let’s not respond to the fatefag anymore. I’m also going to stop playing along and encouraging it. When it was just here in my threads, it was harmless enough, but it causing a shitshow across the board isn’t okay. So I’m no longer responding to it here or in any other thread, and ask you all to please do the same.
>>
>>4944699

I really enjoy messing with the mentally ill, but I guess it’s for the best to just ignore him.

Lets hope the court in Virginia puts Chris Chan down. He shouldn't have been allowed to reach this point.

As a Virginian I can safely say he’ll receive a slap on the wrist compared to what he should get. Our courts are stupidly lenient.

So people need to get up and deal with them, and the degenerate.
>>
>>4944872
That’s never going to happen. People here are far too complacent. My highschool football coach got busted for blackmailing and raping multiple female students. He was let off with community service and people still treat him with respect. This state is a hellhole.

At least with regular gambling you have a chance to win some money back. Sure you're more likely to get struck by lighting while getting a blowy from the first lady than hit the jackpot but it's still there.

It's basically pokemon with extra variables of scarcity, where you have to go through a lot of grinding to get your waifus to full power and they can style on the difficult content.
It's a fairly clever mix of playing on the natural impulses to nurture things, look at cute things, and have simulated social contact.

QM UPDATE

Broly vs Chaya epilogue will be ready, barring no unforeseen circumstances, tomorrow around 6pm EST. I wouldn't mind seeing some other proposed Karns if the chance ever comes up for funsies. But there's always so much other stuff going on that's more pertinent.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 160 Intermission-

AGE 749, NEW SALDA

“GUH!” you wheeze, as Broly’s right to your jaw launches you back several yards before finally stopping. You are Chaya: reigning Dreadzone Champion, Super Saiyan, daughter of Karn and Meloka, and right now you’re back home sparring with your brother Broly. Who clearly hasn’t skipped a single minute of training. Despite all your skill and power, Broly’s been hitting you three or four to one, and has been expertly defending your attacks so far. So you’ll have to try something a little more unorthodox to take him off his game.

“Tch. That one hurt a bit.” you say with a smirk, spitting up a bit of blood before turning back to face him fully. “Looks like I’ll have to go all out to fight you!”
“Go Broly, go Chaya! Do your best!” Caulifla, your younger sister shouts up encouragingly. But then her voice changes as she shouts up again. “Hey, don’t kill each other! I’m gonna disappear for a bit!”
“Huh?” you try asking her, confused. But Broly simply nods as she rushes back inside the broken ship you call home. “Where’s she-oh, right! That Darkmoon stuff, where she goes all blue and can’t see us, right?”
“We can stop for now, and wait until she gets back.” he says, your left eye twitching as you feel a tinge of anger. “Just in...case?”
“You really think you’re that much better than me, Broly?” you ask, fists clenching as your aura surges angrily. “I’m not the one who’s gonna need help!”

He doesn’t retort, instead quietly retaking his fighting stance. You feel your anger burning, and now he’s gonna pay for that. Broly’s family, but that doesn’t mean he gets away with talking down to you like that! You’re gonna make him eat those words!

“HRRRRRRRAAAAAAA!!” you roar, focusing your energy inward and transforming. Your power doubles as your muscles expand, bulking you up to the same size, if not a little bigger than Broly, then charge in headlong at him. Broly braces for impact as you close in, drawing your right fist back, but just as you swing can’t help but smirk. He fell for it after all. You see his eyes widen in surprise as you, mid-swing, seemingly deflate. Undoing your Ultra form, your attack’s speed doubles, and with your body shrinking his guard was no longer in the right spot for your attack. So before he can adjust his guard, your fist slams into his gut with your full, non-Ultra power.
“GUH-?!” he wheezes in clear surprise, but you don’t give him a second to recover. You follow up your right to the gut with a twisting left uppercut to the jaw, striking him with the full power of your arm, back and hips, then immediately spinning and crashing your right elbow square into your brother’s nose with a sickening crunch.
>>
>>4946926
As Broly drifts back, hands going towards his nose, he leaves his middle wide open. Which you’re more than happy to exploit, firing off a powerful flying right kick square into his stomach. Your mighty kick sends your brother flying, and as he recovers you see his green aura begin flaring up around him angrily; no longer the calm, gentle thing you’d observed it to be earlier. And as he pulls his hands from his face, broken nose bleeding, you see him give you a bloody grin before letting out a roar of his own.

“HRRAAAAAAAAAAA!!” Broly bellows, aura bursting up around him. You feel his ki surging, power nearly doubling as he lets his energy flow freely. And you get the feeling that you may have just picked the wrong fight. “So, THAT’S how you wanna do this?Alright then, bring it!!”

He then blitzes towards you, his speed catching you by surprise as he swings with a powerful right. Bracing your left forearm with your right, you manage to block the worst of his attack, letting the force launch you away instead of trying to withstand it. But Broly doesn’t let you get away so easily, following his right with a heavy left uppercut. And again, despite bracing for it, his fist drives both your hands slowing his attack down back into your own forehead, knocking you tumbling backwards even higher up into the air.

“RRRRAAAAAA!!” he roars, closing the distance and firing another heavy right. But knowing you can’t block him, at least not like this, you don’t even try. Instead you revert to Teacher’s lessons, and with the Su Ma technique twist clockwise around your brother’s large fist. “Huh?”
“GOTCHA!!” you shout triumphantly, your left fist slamming into his right cheekbone. Your punch staggers him a bit, but immediately after he tries to strike you with his right elbow. Flipping backwards under his strike, you bring your leg up and kick him in the chin with your right foot. “HYUP!”

Your kick snaps Broly’s neck back while you flip away from him, gathering ki into both of your open palms. And as you reorient on your brother you slam your wrists together, energies mixing together and becoming many times stronger before you fire your ki as a powerful golden beam.

“FINAL FLASH!!” you roar, unleashing it all. Broly recovers just in time to see your attack coming, you feeling it as your beam slams full force into him. But you’d caught him a bit by surprise and off-guard, so he wasn’t able to properly brace himself. You feel your beam launching him up and away from New Salda, soaring up hundreds of yards before managing to roll off your attack. As he escapes the beam you end your attack, sighing out a bit from the release of pressure and taking a moment to catch your breath.
>>
>>4946927
“Woah! Chaya blew him away!” you hear your little sister Kayle shouting excitedly from down below, you turning and giving her a thumbs up. Which, in hindsight, was a terrible idea as it left you vulnerable to Broly’s immediate retort. You sense something approaching fast, but before you fully turn back around towards Broly something hits you. Broly’s attack hits you hard, hard enough you feel a rib crack from the force he slung a ki orb the size of his fist.
“Gack!” you cry out, the blast exploding almost immediately after impact. The shot blasts you down towards the ground, but it’s clear Broly’s just getting warmed up. As you fall, you see another lightning-fast orb flying towards you, and you try catching it. Which works, at first, you mitigating the blunt force of this second shot. Which then immediately blows up in your hands. “Tssk!!”

“HAAAA! HRRAAA!” You hear Broly shout, and as you fall towards the ground see shot after shot heading towards you through the smoke cloud that second shot made when it blew up. You remember this attack from the war, when he’d lob shot after shot into approaching waves of Hivelings, but hadn’t realized they packed quite this much of a punch just by hitting you. You’ll have to destroy them before they reach you, but thankfully you know just how to do that.
“HAAAAA!!” you roar back, firing one of your Blast Punches. Basically an Energy Punch, but instead of simply coating your fists you fire that energy out into Broly’s attack. Both ki explode upon impact, you firing punch after punch as Broly’s shots keep flying down at you. “Haaaa! Haaaa Haaaa! Haaaa! Haaa Haaa HAAAAA!!”

Golden and emerald explosions rock the sky, your siblings “oooh”ing and “aaaaah”in at the spectacle as both of you throw hundreds of blasts towards each other through the explosions and smoke. Yet as you keep throwing your energy around, keeping up with Broly’s relentless attack, you start to feel your ki running a bit low. You’re under a third of your maximum energy, and from what you sense of Broly he’s got at least half of his left. As much as you hate to admit it, in a war of attrition, he’d beat you handily. However, you’re not going to just sit back and play his game. Time for you to start setting the pace, and show him what you really learned at Dreadzone!

“Lesson number one: always, ALWAYS, know your opponent!” Shellshock had drilled into your head over the years of you training at Dreadzone. “Know how they move, how they fight, and what their weak points are! Know which is their dominant hand, their main eye, favorite food, everything! And once you truly know your opponent, you can think like them!”
>>
>>4946933
“Why would I want to think like them?” you’d asked, dodging another barrage of laser shots then stomping one of the ankle biters to scraps. “I don’t wanna think like a weakling.”
“Knowing how your opponent thinks is crucial!” he’d retorted, you getting shot in the back of the head by one of the machine men snipers. Their shots aren’t enough to cause you any serious harm, but damn do they sting. “A smart gladiator can more often than not defeat a physically stronger foe, especially one that relies on brute force over strategy. What happens if you run into someone just as strong as youare? Or maybe someone even stronger? What then?”

“Uhhh...?” you’d paused, unsure. A duo of those blade balls had flown over, and just as they began opening you jumped, stomping down on them both and shattering them. “I gotta try harder?”
“You have to fight smarter.” you answer that past you, stopping your return firing and focusing your ki. You know your brother, and this will certainly take him by surprise. Gathering your energy you create a massive, stable ball of ki as wide across as your spread arms before you, one of Broly’s shots immediately closing the distance. You push the ball a bit forward, and immediately power down. You even drop out of your Super Saiyan forms, hiding your ki as low as you can and dashing up and off to your right while using no more than a whisper of power. Broly’s first shot explodes against the Sky Cannon orb you’s made, followed immediately by another two shots. Each one explodes against your energy, Broly no doubt locked onto your ki signature of the orb instead of you now, and after the third shot you don’t sense him firing any more. Instead you sense him approaching the smoke clouds directly between him and your orb, which is all going exactly according to plan.

“I got you now!” you think to yourself, angling yourself behind where his left shoulder is while slowly, sneakily getting behind him.
“Stop hiding, sis!” he shouts, and as you’d expected, sweeps aside the smoke clouds with a powerful sweep of his left hand. Keeping his right pulled back and ready to fire, exactly as you’d anticipated! “Huh?”
“Watch which hand your foe uses as their dominant hand.” Shellshock had coached, you both watching recordings of Tanya before your first fight with her to prepare you. “See? Her right hand is her dominant shooting hand.”
“Which means her left is for clearing obstacles.” you’d answered, that old lesson coming in handy now. You know Broly’s right-hand dominant, and so hid on his weak side so when he swept the clouds away, they’d cover you as long as possible. Which allows you to sneak up behind him, a dozen or so yards back, then clench your fist. And fire your Sky Cannon.
>>
>>4946934
“Shi-HAAAAAA!!” Broly roars, throwing both hands forward and catching the beam. Your golden energy slams into him, but it’s clearly something he can handle. Just as you’d thought he could.
“Got you now!” you shout from behind him, Ascending and raising your power back up to it’s peak. You see the shock and a hint of worry in Broly’s eye as he glances back, your brother realizing you completely played him. So you quickly gather your ki, and fire a powerful wave of energy at his back. “HYAAAAAAAAA!!”
“Dammit!” he snarls, letting go of your Sky Cannon with his left hand and spinning around to catch your beam as well. But catch it he does, your attacks pressing on him from both sides. “I-I won’t fall that easily!”

But what he doesn’t realize is that you’ve already got him right where you wanted. Sure he’s stronger than you, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t gonna win. It just means that you have to strategize, and make full use of your advantages. Broly’s glancing back and forth between your attacks at regular intervals, and that is your opening. You time your move flawlessly, the moment he glances away you end your beam and dash around to your right. Behind Broly’s back. The second he feels the beam end he glances back, looking to where you just were. But you’re no longer there, and going behind his back, his head turn doesn’t bring you into his line of sight. Not until it’s too late, you bringing your right heel down in a savage axe kick onto hit right shoulder. You hear something pop, his arm immediately going completely limp as you flip back. The Sky Cannon keeps firing for four or five more seconds, blasting Broly with the last of it’s power and sending him flying higher into the sky. The beam then ends, and despite you running on little more than fumes can’t help but feel excited. That one had to have hurt, and with his shoulder dislocated he won’t be able to fight with that arm. You may have just won this!

“That was a little much, don’t you think?” Caulifla calls up, you turning around and seeing your little sister. The first thing you notice is the new weapon, Caulifla wielding a giant golden cross spear that is much taller than her. And before you can answer her, you sense Broly’s ki approaching rapidly. You turn away from your little sister, seeing Broly closing the distance far faster than you thought he could!
“GRRRRAAAAAA!!” he roars, getting into range before you can put up a defense and attacking. His left fist crushes your jaw, you feeling bone break as his punch launches you down into the sea. Your vision dims for a second, but you fight to keep your eyes open.
>>
>>4946936
A second later Broly appears, and he’s looking furious. Blasting the sea apart, his emerald aura-clad form blitzes down directly towards you. You barely have enough time to raise your arms up into a defensive posture before he slams down with his full power behind his left fist. He drives your arms back into you as your bones creak, cracking the ground beneath the sand as your back slams into it. This blow drives the wind from your lungs, and you immediately feel yourself panicking. If you don’t get out of the water soon, you’re gonna pass out! You have to do something!

“But what?” you wonder, trying desperately in your air-deprived mind to figure a way out of this. But Broly has different plans, slamming his heavy left fist down on you over and over and over again. Your arms start going numb from his heavy blows, vision tunneling as you feel your consciousness slipping away. Dammit, not like this! But suddenly he stops swinging, and instead grabs you by both of your forearms! He slings you up out of the crater, and then pulls his left arm back as he charges after you. You break clear of the water, and a second after Broly charges out after you, wielding a fist full of energy.

“GRRRAAAAAAAAAA!!!” he roars, throwing his left fist forward and unleashing a torrent of ki. His emerald beam explodes towards you, it slamming into your chest just as you took a deep breath the beam slams into you.
“GUUH!!” you wheeze, his blast again knocking the little bit of wind out of your lungs, his blast sending you into the sky as everything goes dark. Then suddenly your eyes snap open, and you find yourself still on the beam! Forcing your body to move you push yourself off the attack, emerald beam soaring past you as you struggle to catch your breath. A couple seconds later Broly ends his beam, leaving your brother below you also struggling to catch his breath. Beaten, bloodied, and exhausted, the both of you staring each other down, with only the sounds of yours and his labored breathing.

“Hey, hold on. Both of you come over here. Let me patch you both up first!” Caulifla shouts, waving her giant spear trying to get your attention. You and Broly both exchange a look, then simultaneously nod to each other before retaking your stances. Broly holds his left arm up defensively, right arm still hanging limp at his side. You barely can feel your own arms, clenching and unclenching your fists to see that they both’re working. Your chest is still heaving but so is his, this next clash could be the last one of this battle. So you’re going to give it everything you’ve got left! “Hmph. Fine, be stubborn then! I hope it really, really hurts when you’re done! Mleeeeh!”
>>
>>4946938
https://youtube.com/watch?v=fI3maNT2hU8

“HRRRAAAAAA!!” Broly roars, exploding up towards you with what’s left of his emerald aura flared up around him.
“HYAAAAAAAA!!” you bellow, dashing right down towards him as well. Your right and his left fists crash together, the clash kicking up a powerful shockwave from both of you. He twists, firing off a turning right kick for your head that you block with your left forearm. “Tch! HAAAAAAAAA!!”

You return fire with a turning right kick of your own, which he blocks with his left forearm. But then you twist the other way and fire off a left turning kick. With his right arm still dislocated he can’t block, your left kick taking him in the side of his head. Your kick staggers him, and you immediately move in to capitalize by throwing a quick left jab into his busted nose. Your punch snaps his head back, Broly’s eyes closing as he winces in pain. But as you swing with your right, he brings his left arm up and knocks your punch wide! He then wraps your arm with his, holding it to his side and slams his forehead into your nose!

“GAAAAAAAAH!!” you cry out in pain, flinching back and away as you feel the crunch of your nose breaking. Blinding pain shoots through your face, then you feel a comparatively dull impact to your chest that sends you flying once more. You flip backwards, reorienting on Broly through teary eyes and seeing him still relentlessly charging towards you. So you reverse course, and dash back towards him. Left fists clash, then you both turn into devastating right turning kicks that slam into each other’s shins hard enough you feel your bones creak, breaking off the kick and attacking as fast as your exhausted limbs can manage. With Broly down an arm you quickly take the advantage, your brother trying to block your assault and return fire best he can with one arm. And even with that disadvantage, he still lands a solid blow for every three or four you hit him with. You give it everything you’ve got left, firing off a straight left to his jaw that staggers him, Broly takes that momentum and twists into a right turning kick over your outstretched arm, kicking you in the temple as you follow up your strike with a right uppercut to his guts then another left to the jaw as he counter crosses your left with his left uppercut to your jaw. Your strikes knock you back from each other, but only for a moment. Stopping your backwards momentum, you launch yourself back into the fray, throwing everything you’ve got left into one final, devastating right. Broly does the same with his left, both fists glowing with the last remnants of your ki as you charge in. The last thing you feel is your fist crashing into his jaw, feeling his head rock back as everything goes black.

Suddenly you realize that you’re asleep, and with a bit of effort force yourself to wake up. The first thing you notice, even before opening your eyes is you’re no longer in the air. Instead you’re laying flat on your back, on something that feels pleasantly warm. And the second thing you notice is you’re exhausted! With far more effort than it should take, you open your eyes. And the first person you see is your second-youngest brother Maz’s worried face. Which changes immediately to a smile as you wake up, your brother rising and shouting out.

“Chaya’s awake!” he calls, you forcing your tired limbs to push you upright. It’s the most difficult thing you’ve done all day, but you manage to power through just in time to see Broly doing the same. With both arms working too, no doubt thanks to your little sis Caulifla. But as you look around to find her, you see her, Tatsu, and Tomi all looking the same direction off towards the mainland. “Big sis?”
“Everything okay?” Broly asks, the trio turning around and seemingly excited about something. But before the twins can speak, Caulifla does.
“Dad an’ King Vegeta are throwing down!” she says, leveling a hand towards each of you. And before you can react she fires, her golden ki suffusing your own exhausted body. You feel your strength returning, flipping back up to your feet as you try reaching out with your ki sense. And whoa! Both your dad’s and Vegeta’s energy are massive! “Can you fly?”

“Like I’d EVER miss this!” you shout, leaping into the air. “What’re we waiting for, let’s go!”
“Right behind you.” Broly calls, you all leaving the island and flying towards where your dad and your king are seemingly going all-out. This fight is gonna be good, there’s no way you’d ever miss this!

>>
It's refreshing to see strategize and still go the distance.
Now if only she could stop working the crowd and focus...
>>
>>4947051
Chaya’s not a bad fighter, and is clearly a smart warrior despite her occasional naivety. She’s just more than a little cocky, and plays up a mismatched opponent for the crowd’s enjoyment instead of going immediately for the win. She had her “Are you not entertained?!” moment early and then learned how to do proper crowd work under Shellshock, along with how to properly study her enemies, and exploit their weaknesses.
>>
>>4947070
I'd say more on the topic, but I feel like I'd be beating a dead horse.
I just hope she realizes she can't be a prize fighter forever.
>>
>>4947087
>she can't be a prize fighter forever.
Well, she can. But she can’t be that and also be the most powerful fighter she could be.
>>
>>4947114
>Well, she can
That begs the question, is that really what she wants?
I'm sure if she was asked now she'd more than likely say yes.
Give it another 5 years, and I'm certain she'll realize why this isn't the best for her in the long run.
>>
>>4947149
>is that really what she wants?
Asking the real existential questions here anon. Does ANYONE know what they really want out of life? Especially when she’s only 15, and despite all the violence, war, and bloodshed she’s witnessed has led a relatively-sheltered life?
>>
>>4946578
Didn’t mean to miss your post anon. Yes, eventually. Just have the problem of her move list being 4x anyone else’s, plus her more secret techniques she hasn’t revealed yet/will develop this ark
>>
>>4947184
As I said, she's gotta give it time before she can say anything even remotely conclusive.
I figure the best thing for her right now is taking a leave of absence from the Dreadzone and really exploring her options.
Obviously she wouldn't do that right now, but if she somehow got a massive reality check...
>>
>>4947189
Well, that just makes me want to see it more and it's fine. Take your time.

Just 24 hours to go until episode 160 returns!

>That one had to have hurt, and with his shoulder dislocated he won’t be able to fight with that arm.
Very clever fighting from Chaya. Her mom fights smart, her dad fights smart. Looks like she inherited best of that from both of them.
>>
Broly has been focusing lately a lot on control, to get his aura clam. He talked about this to Maza. This has left Broly a little behind with the training to fight itself. Is that right?

I wonder what will happen when he finally get that self control right. How close is he from completing this?
>>
>>4946936
>You turn away from your little sister, seeing Broly closing the distance far faster than you thought he could!
>>4946938
>A second later Broly appears, and he’s looking furious.
So in a dire situation Broly has reverted to his most instinctual and first fighting style that is related to the rage he is trying to control.

It also seems like it's working better than his former attempts despite having dislocated arm now.
>>
>>4946938
>you feel your consciousness slipping away. Dammit, not like this! But suddenly he stops swinging, and instead grabs you by both of your forearms! He slings you up out of the crater,
Nice that he did not forget himself even in anger. His training gives results. Then again it's quite possible that even in the maximum of his rage he would not kill Chaya.

Just replying to all of your posts at once. Anyways:
Glad you enjoyed.
She didn’t inherit, that was practice. Years of observing her Dreadzone opponents, both before and after becoming Champion.
Broly is the strongest of the kids, but the gap between his or any of your other kids’ experience and Chaya’s experience is staggering.
He was holding back at first. Comparing just their raw power, he’s around 5 times stronger than his sister when going all out.
Or perhaps his own air was running out, and he needed to breathe too?
Thanks anon. Also, nice gif

QM UPDATE

Feeling much better today, going to be taking it real slow to make sure I’m okay. But this has left me with an unexpected problem: I don’t have a second intermission for this episode planned. So for this one, I want you all to give me intermission suggestions that you want to see.

>>4949476
Not bad.
>>
>>4949896
I wanna know what Ubo and Raven have been up too. Maybe more Space 4chan moments.
>>
>>4949896
Maybe something about Arctus?
Or Cooler?
Ubo and Raven are fine too.

>>4950000
No, he’s still asleep. And will stay that way until AGE 757, unless a certain something happens first.
>>
>>4949896
Ubo would certainly be a solid pick.
I'd also like to see what Boros has been up to lately.

Oh no, I forgot which episode has the inside of the Guardian’s ship. Well, this intermission will probably be a bit shorter, as a lot of my writing time will be episode-crawling looking for those specific scenes.

>>4951774
Good luck, I think it was between the first time Saiyans took over New Salda, and during the first steps to leading up to the Covenant War. Maybe around when we were with Boros.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 160 Intermission II-

AGE 749, NEW SALDA

“Is everything okay?” Ubo, your giant of a friend asks as you step back through one of your portals. “Someone else try attacking Karn?”
“Not quite.” you say with a sigh, walking over to your usual sitting place and sitting down atop the flat rock. You then tell him about what happened this morning, with Tanya in possession of stolen divine power, the apprentice Kai Kars attacking both her and then Karn, and finally the Supreme Kai’s arrival. You’re still reeling from the Supreme Kai actually apologizing to Tanya for his subordinates’ behavior, but Ubo doesn’t seem nearly as phased by it all as you are.

“Of course. His people were clearly in the wrong.” Ubo says straight-faced, as if what he’s saying is only obvious. “Plus, he has to worry about what Karn said. If he really killed a Supreme Kai of Time, then another Kai must be worried about his potential. I’m sure the Supreme Kai fears death, as all other living beings do.”
“You think he actually did it?” you ask him. “You think he really managed to kill a Supreme Kai of Time?”
“Has he ever lied about a battle before?” Ubo asks, which makes you stop and think. Sure you’d thought that a being with mastery over time itself would be invincible, but you’d also thought your father Trigon was unstoppable. And if anyone could pull off such an impossible feat, it would be him.

“You’re right.” you answer, feeling a little bit foolish for underestimating Karn after all this time. “If anyone could, it’s hi-Ubo?”
“Hrmmm.” he mumbles, the giant interrupting your thoughts as he suddenly rises up to his feet looking off into space. “That could be trouble.”
“What is it?” you ask, your senses not nearly as wide-reaching as the Kryptonian’s. “What do you see?”
“I’m not sure.” he replies, squatting down and preparing to leap into the sky. “But I’ll take care of it real quick.”
“Be careful, okay?” you say, Ubo giving you a smile and a thumbs up before blasting off the ground. In an instant his energy vanishes completely, blasting off well outside your senses’ range in an instant. Whatever it is he was seeing, you hope he can handle it. “Whew. What a long day.”

You settle back down on the rock, taking a deep breath and then sighing out. That’s been more than enough excitement for one day. Focusing, you once again suppress your demonic side, that dark energy fading as you return to normal. Then as you’ve restrained your birthright, you sense the familiar magic of Tanya approaching. Without rising or even opening your eyes you raise your right hand, re-opening the portal back to Dreadzone for her.
>>
>>4954392
Tanya flies down, landing on the ground near you without getting too close, and silently walks towards the portal. But you’re not letting her go without at lease a question or two.

“So, this deity. The one you got your power from. Does it have a name?” you ask, Tanya freezing in place. You open your eyes and look at her, the young soldier taking a deep breath with her eyes closed, clearly composing herself before turning towards you.
“This being, who supposedly granted me this power called itself god.” she replies turning towards you. “It never gave me a name. All it wanted from me is my worship, and to declare it god.”
“Yet you refused.” you reply, tilting your head a bit to the side. “Why?”
“I don’t believe any being who proclaims itself god, doesn’t show it’s face, and still demands I pray to it.” she retorts with a snort. “The arrogant jackass. If something wants to give me it’s power I’ll certainly take it, but screw giving such a creature any sort of loyalty.”
“Well, I can agree with some of what you say. At least in principle.” you reply, again flashing up into your demon form for a few seconds. You then sigh out, the demonic glow fading again as you once more revert forms. “How you got your power isn’t as relevant as what you do with it after all.”

Once more you’re reminded of the day you met Karn, a faint smile coming to your lips. You’d thought yourself so jaded and worldly, yet he showed you how small and innocent your worldview truly was. She doesn’t feel the same, which you can tell clearly from her face despite the young soldier somehow blocking your empath ability. But as she turns to leave, you ask her one final question.

“So, how long until you’ll want to portal back?” you ask her.
“I’m not planning on being back anytime soon.” she answers. “I’ll be staying at Dreadzone for the foreseeable future. I just needed to grab a few of my things.”
“Oh, I see.” you reply, not sure what she’s up to. So you decide to try and get a few more answers. “Your gladiator career taking off then?”
“Something like that.” she replies, more than a little evasively. “I’m not looking to stay in second place to Karn’s daughter forever.”
“Oh? So you think that you can cultivate your divine power enough to surpass her?” you ask, more than a little curious. “Well, I shall be waiting for your battle.”
“Yeah.” she replies, then heads through the portal without hesitation. Once she’s through you close it behind her, no longer feeling that pull on your mana from holding the portal open. Interesting, she really thinks she can defeat Chaya? You are curious, perhaps she can actually achieve such a victory?
>>
>>4954395
But as you sit there, enjoying the morning sun with your eyes closed while pondering what you’ve sensed of her power compared to Chaya’s, suddenly you feel the ground beneath your feet tremble. Your eyes snap open as you spring to your feet, senses expanding as you try and figure out what’s going on. You sense a potential source of the problem after a moment, for some reason you feel Karn’s surging ki radiating from well below New Salda’s surface.

“Karn, what are you doing?” you ask him telepathically. “What’s going on?”
“Something shot at me down here.” he replies, you sensing his tension through the link. “The hole Tanya made went all the way down into some sort of chamber, and I’m not alone down here. Something or someone’s firing what looks like dark magic at me.”
“Let me get something to help, and I’ll be right there.” you reply, ending the link while simultaneously opening a portal deep into the ancient shipwreck resting below your feet. With the late Guardian’s protective magics, augmented by your own since his end sealing that portion of the ship, you can only teleport right to the shield’s edge. Which you do, walking through and placing your hand on an electrical handprint scanner. Now, this ship has long ago lost power, but your magic activated the enchanted seal, the heavy door sliding open with the ear-piercing squeal of metal grinding on metal. Once through you again open a portal, this time carrying you directly to the Guardian’s Armory. Again you scan your hand on dilapidated machinery, the magic coursing through those spells powerful enough to vaporize even Trigon should he somehow be reborn and try getting to what‘a stored in here.

The door slides open, this time far less loud as you slip through and shut it behind you. The magic seals shut behind you with an almost pressurized-sounding hiss as you turn your attention to the room’s contents. Having just recently been inside the room to retrieve the cursed Stand-creating dagger, everything appears exactly the way you’d left it. You ignore the hook-handled sabers and the other assorted relics of power, instead heading back deeper into the armory. Through the dim, magical overhead light you travel between the pillars, carefully avoiding coming in contact with the different items as you travel back into the darkest corner where no light reaches. You once more take your more demonic form before reaching into that darkness, and find the haft of a spear laid against the met corners of the room. Grasping the spontoon’s haft you pull the weapon free, most of the shadows sticking with it instead of staying there in the dark where they should. Looks like he was right after all.
>>
>>4954400
“Why is that corner darker than the other one?” you’d asked the late Guardian, when he showed you this armory before his passing. “See? That corner is far darker for some reason.”
“A powerful relic, there is kept.” he’d answered, lifting a hand towards that darkness. And to your surprise the shadows had moved, drifting out of that corner over both of your heads. With another gesture the ancient being pulled those shadows away, holding them back in one hand while holding the weapon aloft with the other to reveal it’s form.

The spear, or spontoon as he’d referred to it measures six and a half feet long, featuring a spearhead with circular lugs and a three-quarters circle asymmetrically-placed. All the metal seemed to be some sort of brass, all the shine gone having been shrouded in those shadows for so long. And after a few seconds he let that darkness retake the weapon, and you haven’t seen it again since. But he did explain to you what the weapon was for, you remembering as once again you feel the ground shaking beneath your feet.

“The Rak’kari, this spontoon, they found.” he had explained to you. “Near the Abyss, where discovered it was. Tainted, by that Dark, it had become. Entrusted to me, it was. After one of their own, corrupted by the Dark, he had become.”
“So why didn’t you destroy it?” you’d asked, genuinely curious as he slowly used his telekinesis to return the spear to it’s corner. Which instantly became far darker once the spear was returned. “If it’s so dangerous, why keep it around?”
“Destroyed, the Dark cannot be.” he’d replied seriously. “Beaten back, yes. Contained? Temporarily. But never destroyed. So long the light, there is, so too, shall Dark ever remain.”
“Oh.” you’d replied, but were then surprised as he looks your way as it you’d interrupted him. “Sorry.”
“And you, your heritage, special, you are.” he continues. “Highly resistant, demon kin are, to the Dark’s insatiable pull. Able to wield, you are, that weapon. Should the need arise.”

“Why would we ever need a physical weapon, soaked in the Dark?” you’d asked, feeling unsure. But he’d simply smiled at you, and went on to the next relic. But now you understand, you know why such a weapon would be kept. Dark attracts Dark, and with this in hand now you should be able to sweep away the Dark assailing Karn, and defeat whatever is down there. You just hope that you can actually stop it.

QM UPDATE

Okay, so I have a bit of a scheduling problem coming up. I won’t be around much if at all tomorrow due to the funeral, and episode 160 will continue this coming Saturday at noon EST. However I do have something going on Sunday, so I won’t be able to continue the episode then. So I’ll ask you all, should the episode end that Saturday night/Sunday morning, and move on to the next episode? Or would you rather I try stretching it out for another week?
>>
>>4954660
I'd say go for the half episode.
>>
>>4954660
I'd rather a half episode then none.
>>
I haven't quite caught up yet; on thread 156 right row, but jesus GD, you've got to get a grip on the Meloka wank. You can't treat her as your untouchable, unbeatable super-l33t waifu if it's going to fuck with the fair mechanics of the quest. That fight at the end of thread 155 was fucking absurd (then the Time Patrol parallel quest interlude in thread 156 compounded my frustration [it wasn't too bad by itself, but after 155 left such a bad taste in my mouth, I was extra sensitive to the issue]). I'll elaborate;

Thread 155 fight, we start with "Djem So to force her immediately on the defensive with no time for her tricks wins it". Your write-up split that round into three sections, seeming to correspond to each requested roll.
1) Karn and Meloka trade punches, each dodging or blocking the other, with no heavy punches actually landing to the face or body. Two heavy punches are described as heavily hitting Meloka's guard, the first knocking her from the air to the ground (landing on her feet; big deal), the second makes her flip over backwards. Guess that first passed roll just granted us dominance in the exchange, but no actual landed strikes. No 'points' scored, really.
2) Meloka fires some scattershots and ki needles which we block with our barrier. Before the ki needles can explode (while stuck in our barrier), we throw it at Meloka and she dodges it (unaffected).
3) Meloka fires off her Bladestorm, which we successfully dodge. However, we don't fire off any sort of response at Meloka, and she has her hands glowing ready to fire off her next attack.

We had absolutely no initiative, with Meloka firing off 3 attacks at us (across rolls 2 and 3) versus our none at her. She has us on the back foot, despite us winning all three rolls, and outpowering her (powerlevel-wise) by 100%. Nevermind that the option selected was "Djem So to force her immediately on the defensive with no time for her tricks". She certainly had plenty of time for her tricks, in spite of us winning all the rolls.
The 2nd and 3rd roll success/failure conditions seemed to be FAIL; Meloka hits you, PASS; you manage to avoid Meloka hitting you. There was no chance for us to actually win the exchange, just (at best) withstand Meloka's awesomeness and score a draw.
Out of those 3 rolls, not a single one of them resulted in us 'scoring points' against Meloka on a success, only avoiding her getting one over on us. Our options were literally 'lose the exchange' (on fail) or 'avoiding losing for now' (on success).

[cont.]
>>
Next round we go for Multiform; "Multiform, send one of you in with a barrier to deflect her attacks and resume Djem So while the other one keeps distance and uses ki attacks."

Let's first consider powerlevels at the time; Karn, 30M-ish base, Ascended Berserker ~18billion. Meloka, 26M base listed now in the pastebin, so maybe 22M at the time of that thread? Meaning 9billion in SSJ3.
Which means each of those multiform bodies, worth 9billion, was equal to Meloka, meaning we can't just pass the results off as "Oh, but Karn split his power, so you can't expect the weakened bodies to be too effective". Now powerlevel isn't everything, but are we really arguing that Karn is a bum who doesn't measure up pound-for-pound? GD, you've stated that Meloka is some super duper ki prodigy, which you might try to use as justification for her standing toe-to-toe with, and in fact beating, Karn in 3/3 of their last fights (even when he has a 100% higher PL than her when whole, equal when split in two), but that comes across incredibly Mary Su-ish when combined with the 'don't touch my waifu'-syndrome you've exhibited across these two threads.

Anyway, for this round there were 5 rolls to pass. We passed all of them with flying colours, rolling 84, 91, 94, 81, 98 vs DCs 60, 50, 30, ??, 70. What does that get us?
Well, first we fall sucker for a feint, barrier-ing a Scattershot which turns out to just be a means of getting one of our bodies stuck in a Hellzone Prison. We manage to avoid getting riddled with Scatterbeam shots - phew - with an energy wave that Meloka shrugs off without effort, pulling Warding Eyes out of her arse to block it (didn't we win that roll? No?). Fortunately, winning one of the particular rolls was good enough for the first body to not get completely stuck in that Hellzone Prison, and it charges at her. We beat all the DCs, so surely that means that this body closes in and whops here around a bit in melee, to let the other body sit at range and blast her, while distracted, from our regeneratingBerserker energy battery, right? Nope! The charge means fuck all, could never have possibly succeeded against Meloka the Wunderkind, and we were in fact rolling to see if we could possibly have resisted her nailing us in the face with an Energy Javelin. Anway, we manage to not get fucked up, because we passed that roll (again, no chance to actually win that exchange, just rolling to see if we lose now or draw (to prolong the fight until we eventually fail a roll and lose)).
Anyway, our other body fires off it's own splitting energy javeline, and Meloka is so distracted by dealing with one body that is equalto her in power that this body smacks her one. Lol, just kidding. Meloka dodges this attack without getting touched. Fuck our successful roll, Meloka's too aw3s0m4 to get hit.

[cont.]
>>
Oh wait, the first body grabs one of the yet-unexploded scatter javelins and it does hit her before she gets her Barrier up. Yay us, we actually managed to land one minor unblocked hit on her, guess she didn't manage to win 100% untouched. Only 98%.
I bet she's reeling, right? Better follow up and get her. Nope, she fires some rapid-fire beams that, I quote, "completely no-sells your Scattershot, detonating them all and sending hundreds more towards you. Leaving your ranged body only one option." I though we won the rolls? Yet we get no sold, lose the initiative and get forced into a desperate Barrier defense.
Being outnumbered 2-1 by foes equal to her in power doesn't bother Meloka the Untouchable; the other body can't even find an opportunity to attack her while she's distracted by the other, getting completely countered by the Warding Eyes, which fire out multiple volleys. Meloka doesn't even need to pay attention to an equally-powerful Karn; her automatic defenses are superior to him, [even when he passes all of his rolls]. She could literally beat him in her sleep.
The two bodies charge her at once, and she says "LOL g3t r3kt" and hits them with 'Final Judgment', because apparently us passing all of our rolls corresponds to a result of us getting one tiny hit on her and then her hitting us with her ulimtate attack, leaving us crushed on the ground, feeling our bones on the verge of breaking.

I wonder how it would have gone if we'd failed on of the rolls? Would we have shat our pants and cried?

Next round, we get a variety of options to choose from, all permutations of "See if you can survive Meloka's awesomeness". Because that's totally the state that this fight should be in after how we've rolled. Anyway, we have our first bad roll of the fight, three rounds in. We lose one (shit roll), lose a second against a DC 87 (with what should have been a decent roll against a reasonable DC), and pass one. Of course, the DC87 was totally not bullshit; after passing 100% of the rolls up until this point in the fight, we totally deserved to have no initiative and to have been completely on the defensive against Meloka for the entire fight, giving her the opportunity to smash our fucking guts into the ground with her ultra attack which we require two rolls of 70, then 87 to beat.

We get hit with '"You’re not going to escape this hun.” Meloka says via telepathy, your body smashing down deeper into the crater. “Just give up, and I’ll stop it.”' because being subject to smug condescention is a totally fair representation of how this might should have played out based on how we've rolled.

Oh well, we passed one roll, so we at least got a return hit in on her, right? Nope, it just meant that we resisted getting fucked up for a couple of seconds. Fail DC = lose. Pass DC = manage to not lose just yet.
>>
Next round. We pass 2/3 DCs, with a crit. Summary to this point; 11/14 rolls won, with 1 crit success. Crit apparently counts ass passing the failed DC here, so really 3/3 here, for 12/14.
Result; We Instant Transmission out, grapple Meloka and then whoop her because we're bigger, stronger and have 100% higher PL. JK, our grapple achieved nothing and Meloka is granted the initiative, forcing us onto the defense to desperately avoid her ki needles.

Next round we crit fail, which means we lose like a chump, as Meloka lands the most smug counter possible, causing our own attack to explode in our face.
If a crit fail means we lose like a bitch, how come the crit success last round (after dominating the fight, at least roll-wise if not narratively) counted for fuck all? Meloka's not having to roll for her attacks, meaning she has no chance to bumble with a 1 roll and insta-lose, so us rolling a 100 is essentially the equivalent. How come we didn't IT out from under the Final Judgment and just neck-chop her gloating arse unconscious. If the excuse is that we failed the 2nd DC for that round and needed the crit to cover it, then our decent (78) second roll this round should have mitigated somewhat (with the crit-fail+pass being the inverse of Meloka crit-succeeding the first roll, then failing the second and requiring the crit be used to compensate, just as happened to us last round).

Overall, what really pissed me off was that the rolls for each round were not for whether we manage to score points / land hits, but whether we manage to resist Meloka's overwhelming awesomeness for each moment. The rolls were essentially, fail = you get hit and messed up by Meloka's l33t skill, pass = you manage to survive this particular aw3som3 attack, for now. And there are 3-5 of those rolls, so eventually we're bound to succumb to her l33tness. A failure means we get hit, but not a single one of the rolls means she gets hit, even if we pass all of them. And even when we pass all of them, she's still constantly the attack, and we're on perma-defense until we eventually lose, as bigger and bigger attacks or un-deservedly thrown at us due to us having no initiative.

Now on to the thread 156 interlude fight with Karn and Meloka vs the Three Idiots; they're powerful foes (and there were 3 vs 2), so Karn is described as copping a lot of really hard knocks, getting smashed/pinballed through the air and into the ground, and only getting up because he's a tough fuck who refuses to stay down. Completely appropriate; he wins in the end (because main character) but got the shit kicked out of him in the process. Meloka, however, is spinning and slashing and blocking and dodging and setting up all her ub3r-special techniques. Yet you did not describe even ONE hit being landed on her. She literally went untouched (again, in comparison to Karn getting almost knocked out). You're acting as if you're reluctant to write about your waifu being injured.
>>
Meloka's tough. Let her actually get hit, and she'll come off as less of a Mary Su. It's tolerable when she's an ally, but really frustrating when we're on the receiving end of your OC-crush and the resultant 'passing all 10 success rolls just means that she doesn't beat you just yet' bullshit. And when we succeed 10 rolls in a row and then crit on her arse, let her actually get hit (asking for her to lose might just be too much of an ask, apparently).
>>
>>4955110
It's because GDQM isn't a very good writer when it comes to stuff like fights, give him a break.
It's fine that Meloka is way stronger than Karn.
>>
>>4955116
The thing is, she isn't and shouldn't be stronger.
Isn't: Her PL is lower.
Shouldn't be: We train just as much as her, so gains should be equivalent, and we get fucked up more in fights due to our fightstyle, leading to more and bigger Zenkais (and her being upset with us for it; it used to be a running joke that Karn would pass out from injury and exhaustion after literally every single fight).
She has great ki control, sure, which serves her very well in a fight, but head-to-head that should be somewhat mitigated/countered (when considering who should win the fight) by Karn's superior resilience and energy pool and broader repertoire (Stand and Force shit), so you can't even really say it lets her punch above her powerlevel with respect to Karn; Karn also punches above HIS powerlevel.

I don't want to give the wrong impression. I like Meloka and she's a great character. And yeah, she's absolutely in the same league/weightclass as us, and there's nothing wrong with her winning even 50% of our sparring matches.

What pissed me off was how rolls and the narrative were being handled. If there were 5 rolls to make, then it corresponded to 'here's 5 attacks by Meloka; see if you avoid them.' A success shouldn't just be a draw / avoidance of a loss, but rather managing to counter the attack and land a hit. Just like how if a roll is to determine whether one of our attacks lands (I don't think there were actually any of these in that thread 155 fight, which is part of what pissed me off, narratively, and why I raved about 'initiative'), a failure usually means we get our arse countered, rather than just whiffing.
>>
>>4955117
Stop being a shitstirring troll.
>>
>>4955128
Where was the trolling? My frustration was sincere, and I'm conveying it and the reasons for it so that GD can improve 1) how he handles the outcome of dice rolls and 2) any bias he might not have realised he has regarding Meloka.
>>
>>4955132
Rent free.
>>
>>4955134
Dilate.

Seriously though, I love this quest, think GD is doing a great job (I wouldn't have read 157 episodes in the last month and a half to catch up if that wasn't the case), and reckon this is better (story and certainly character-wise) than any other Dragon Ball-related story - official or unofficial - ever told.

How that one fight was handled is the only thing to have ticked me off, and I reckon its poor handling might be a Meloka thing, just due to the 'ki control prodigy' thing being taken too far. The other losses to her have been fine - we rolled like crap and deserved what we got - but this one was a mess in terms of the narrative context (what obstacles each roll respresented) and outcome-handling of the rolls requested. By pointing out these two issues, GD can address them; the Meloka-wank is easily dialed backand fixed, and improving the roll-handling should improve the narrative of the fights.
>>
>>4955104
>>4955105

Yeah, those first two rounds almost felt like we were getting railroaded into Meloka's super attacked regardless of what we rolled
>>
>>4955145
>reckon this is better (story and certainly character-wise) than any other Dragon Ball-related story - official or unofficial - ever told.
Stop brownnosing because you got caught concern trolling, troll.
It's not fooling anyone.
>>
>>4955164

Nah, just felt like after leaving a 6-page long autistic rant over losing a fight I should at least offer up a bit of praise.

As far as concern trolling, I'm not sure what you're on about. My rant (and subsequent posts) essentially amounted to "Hey, this was bullshit. Fix it (and stop wanking your waifu)".
>>
>>4955166
I thought It was fine.
Stop complaining.
Sometimes narratively you just can't win.
Deal with it.
>>
>>4955172
Just can't win? Against someone 50% of our power (and the same type of powerset; it's not like she's Chilli who could throw some magical bullshit we wouldn't even begin to know how to counter at us)? Does that not strike you as some Mary Su bullshit? That's kind of my point with the 'Meloka wank' thing.
>>
>>4955175
Power Levels mean very little.
Stop acting like a child holding a tantrum because of a single loss.
Karn is just bad at fighting people he cant just overpower.
>>
>>4955179
We suceeded on literally every roll (8/8) for two whole rounds and didn't even land a solid hit, narratively. Instead we were written as getting hit by an ultra-attack. It was bullshit.

It was like one of those video games where you fuck up the boss, untouched, and then it cuts to a cutscene and you're getting your arse whooped and the boss wins/gets away. >4955163 has it right; it was railroading.
>>
>>4955181
It wasn't railroading.
It was a hard fight.
It was a loss because it was a hard fight.
Can't win em all.
Get over it and stop calling things that aren't railroading railroading, bitch.
>>
>>4955188
If it's a hard fight, let the roll DCs reflect that. If we pass them, we succeed, and the narrative should reflect that. However, passing the DCs on literally all of the rolls, then having the narrative say 'You achieved nothing, then you get fucking monstered by a death beam from the sky which crushes your bones' is bullshit. Seriously, across 4 rounds, we won 11/14 rolls including a crit (used to cover a failure, for 12/14), and literally only achieved ONE SINGLE minor/glancing blow, narratively.

We've fought plenty of tough opponents, who have outpowered us by significant degrees. We have been allowed to win those when we've rolled well. Why not in this case? Oh, yeah, because it's Meloka the Wunderkind, l33t prodigy with ebin 5k1llz, who cannot possibly be defeated, even with 100% success over two rounds and 86% over four (including crit-success).

At that point, why even have us roll dice?

Seriously though guys, do you seriously disagree with my arguement that succeeding on all of our rolls in a round with a bunch of them (eg 3-5) should actually correspond with acomplishing something (landing a fucking hit, at the very least), narratively, rather than just 'well you manage to not lose yet'.

And why would Meloka be a fight we can't win? We've fought tougher. Hell, during the Episode 100 rumble we fought and beat SSGSSs and shit because the dice said we did. Why is Meloka plot-armoured? This, again (I'm having to repeat this a fair bit for you fucking vegetables), is what I'm talking about when I say 'Meloka-wank'.
>>
>>4955236

>>
>>4955237
It's his quest you fucking whiny baby.

>>
>>4955247
Except to just disregard the dice defeats the purpose of using them. If he just wanted to write a choose-your-own-adventure for us (keeping the voting for decisions/tactics, but with predetermined/set outcomes for each) that's one thing (and I'm sure we'd all still enjoy it), but if you're going to use the dice, then you acknowledge them and write according to the results they produce.

This hasn't really been an issue with other fights. However, between that fight and the Ep156 interlude, GD seems to have a bias towards having Meloka portrayed as unbeatably awesome / have an unwillingness to write about her getting hit/hurt. I noticed it before Ep155 (and it may not have existed before then; I haven't gone back to re-read earlier threads), but the Ep156 interlude repeated the Meloka plot-armour.

Now that I think about it, I also remember Meloka fucking up that demon on the Covenant world (where it was an underground complex) without even getting touched during the entirety of the battle on that planet. Of course she won - Karn easily would have, too - but Karn probably would have gotten hit at least once due to us failing at least one roll out of the 10 or more asked for during the course of the fight. Negligible damage, most likely, shrugged off in the process of chopping the demon to bits, but not Meloka's 100% flawless victory. I don't really have an issue with that Epilogue, and didn't really think much of it at the time, but I do notice a bit of a pattern now looking back at it.
Meloka's apparently untouchable because she's just too epic.

Mate, you're acting like a redditor or some Critical Role fanboy. You hear some slight bit of criticism of the story/piece of media that you like, even if it's from a fellow fan, and you start lashing out like a little bitch. 'No negativity here! 100% good vibes only! [s]It's their game![/s] It's his quest, he can do what he wants!"

Seriously, the point of my posts has been, "You're favouring this character a bit too much and it's beginning to detrimentally affect the mechanics/operation of the quest ('gameplay', I guess?). Dial it back a bit." It's pretty reasonable, minor criticism, and easily fixed if GD considers the complaint valid.

In summary, dilate.
>>
>>4955287
Tbh I don't think this guy is trolling at all? Like, he saw something he considered to be a problem, he brought it up in detail using examples from the own quest about why he had a problem with it, and ask GD to consider his view.

I won't get touch the whole Meloka wank thing but the voicing concerns about one thing after reading through 150+ threads doesn't make the guy a troll.

Also, I know atleast one of these anons, or atleast I HOPE atleast one of these anons is the Fate shitstirer whose been around for the last few weeks, but guys calm down. I'm not the fate fag man. Like shit. Just because I'm backing up something you dislike doesn't make me a troll. >>
>>4955452
He was saying the original post was the fatefag.
That's how concern trolling works.
You pretend to be a big fan of something but you keep pressing a single issue that doesn't exist, in this case anon was calling Meloka a Mary Sue over and over.
It's classic concern trolling.
We know fatefag is obsessed enough to pretend he's a fan too.
>>
>>4955452
>just ignoring them until GD can respond on his own.
Basically this. GD asked us to ignore anyone that may be a troll, so why are anons engaging and feeding someone they think is a troll? This is either a case of anons being too thin-skinned to follow a simple request, or it’s a fatefag falseflag.

>>
>>4955566
I never thought anyone was mad at Meloka beating us, if anything it was pretty funny and she is sort of Karn's counter. Besides, she doesn't have much going for her besides being strong and crazy. She's clearly not our equal, she's never been the best emotional support for anyone, not even us or her children, not even her disciples seem to look up to her, when we wanted to fuck Towa we just ignored her, her primary flaw is her Karn worship and she's somewhat over it... Really, I was probably the first to call Meloka a QMmc but nowadays our children fit the bill better.
>>4955771
Well, it's not like much happened besides more build up for the episode. What's the energy Ubo felt? What does the spontoon do? Find out this Saturday. Alright thanks.
I do like Ubo telling Shin's thought process like it is. He's come a long way.
>>
>>4955811
See, I just chalked up Meloka consistently beating us in spars to the fact that Karn just isn't built for sparring anybody at his level.
His style is built around ending threats quickly and definitively with time-tested skills and techniques, not pulling punches and trying out new things on a whim.
I maintain that Karn would probably have an easier time fighting Meloka if it was an actual fight to the death.
>>4955771
Even with the "critique" stealing the show, it's not like people didn't care about the epilogue. There's plenty of plothooks and revelations there to chew on, even if it's not the immediate focus of discussion. I can understand how it can be somewhat annoying though, if not discouraging.
>>
>>4955771
Discourse typically steals the show. I didn’t have much to say about it personally, just silently appreciated another epilogue.
>>
>>4955811
>Well, it's not like much happened besides more build up for the episode. What's the energy Ubo felt? What does the spontoon do? Find out this Saturday. Alright thanks.
I mean, fair.
>>4955822
True enough. Karn does have a bad habit of holding back too much, in fear of collateral to his allies/family/planet he’s on. While the vast majority of Meloka’s attacks aren’t necessarily high-energy, they’re all built explicitly to kill. And when sparring, she doesn’t have to hold back nearly as much as Karn does.
Of all the things I’d hoped to come back to after the funeral, an essay half the size of my episodes criticism and an argument weren’t what I was hoping for.
>>4955852
Thanks
>>
>>4955907
Think about it like this, you wouldn't get such a lengthy critique if the guy didn't care about the quest.

>>
>>4955921
Oh it’s true, but still stings alittle.
>>
>>4955954
Yeah, sorry about the timing of my rant stealing the spotlight from the Epilogue. I just wrote up my bullshit, saw we weren't in a middle of a run (with votes, rolls, etc. ongoing) and so posted my shit. My bad.

Having read Ep158, I also think I might have overreacted (okay, I definitely did) with the whole 'Meloka-wank' / 'you're unwilling to write about your OC-waifu-s00pa-c00l-prodigy failing/taking damage' accusation. I still maintain that the rolls in 155 really weren't handled properly, but those in the 158 sparring match were, with Meloka getting smacked around by some super-dominant rolls, showing that you are in fact willing to let her l33tness be overcome when we roll well.

Also, the 157 wedding smackdown was phenomenal; loved it. One thing brushed over in-character was the arsewhooping Karn Jr. handed out. His siblings don't seem to have really commented on it / discussed it much yet (as on near the end of 158); have the kids even told Karn what happened there yet?. That toddler deserves some major praise and a few reward toys.
>>
Also, reading through the Precognition training section of Ep158, it really seems like it would synergise amazingly with Ultra Instinct for Karn's 'endgame build'. Read this bit from Bane;

>Would you?” he asks, you opening your eyes and looking curiously to him. “Or would you prefer to ALWAYS be using Foresight?”
>“Hold on. That’s possible?” you ask, shocked. “You can master it to that point?”
>“Of course. It is not easy, but it is possible.” Bane answers. “But first, you have to become far more adept at entering the correct mindset, to clear your mind of all thoughts.”

The clearing your mind of all thoughts seems to mesh well with Ultra Instinct's "just let the body do its thing" method.
It seems like once both are mastered, Karn could have his mind scanning the near-future for immediate threats, letting his body handle the present fight autonomously. If Karn sees something in the near future that goes poorly, he could re-assume manual control of his body and change tactics from whatever Ultra Instinct would have had him doing, in order to avoid it.

Deadly, but not something we'll see for a while.
>>
>>4956385
Precognition is very powerful in it' own right, and I wouldn't be shocked if it ended up winning somehow.
However, you have to remember why most anons seem to be leaning toward Energy Body as a passive.
It bridges the gap between Karn and the few people who can actually overpower him AND it would allow for decent gains while he attempts to master his Ascended Berserker form.
The only real downsides I can see is that it's not great for swordplay and seems to limit the amount of ranged techniques that can be used while it's active. It's very much a passive for a hand-to-hand fighter.
>>
>>4956395
Oh, yeah, I absolutely appreciate the merits of Energy Body, too. They're both fantastically useful.
>>
>>4956380
All good, I get being passionate about something.
Also, I wouldn’t say brushed over quite yet. The consequences just haven’t been seen ic yet.
>>4956385
It has potential. But this upcoming vote is more about something specific in which passive you’ll take now. Which ability you’ll have on passively for events such as Beerus, as well as several others.
>>4956395
>It's very much a passive for a hand-to-hand fighter.
True. Mechanically speaking it’s a powerful buff, giving up ranged and energy construct attacks for near-unstoppable force.
>>4956406
And that’s the fun of the upcoming choice. Each option is good, none of them are inherently bad. You’ll just have to decide how Karn’ll approach future battles. Unstoppable offense? Defense and counter-attacks?
>>

Finished catching up yesterday, so looking forward to catching the rest of this thread live.

Also caught the Fate-fag shitfest at the end of Ep159 (and had a read of /qtg/); I now understand why a lot of the people in here were touchy regarding my criticism and thought I was just being a troll. There was a lot bullshit being thrown at GD and the quest there.

I'm not one of the dickheads from those incidents (or that one guy, if it was just a same-fag, as it seemed), just a salty autist.

Seeing them(him, most likely) calling Karn a cuck did make me laugh, though, after how we completely relegated Mira to the cuckshed before his unceremonious destruction.
>>
>>4957703
All good man, glad you can join the rest of us in enjoying all this. Also to your earlier complaint about meloka being the OP favorite, one thing to keep in mind is she's literally the person who's probably worked with karn consistently the longest over the span of actual decades now, and she's worked her ass off just to keep up with karns ever escalation of shitstomping assclowns for a really really long time. Part of it also is berserk we know has a far higher overall power cap then basic SSJ, but requires a shitload more to get there, it's why she's generally SSJ3 to our ascended berserker, so she can spend more time screwing around with ki control versus our grappler hand to hand style. Part of it is we still need to keep grinding powerlevel for LSSJ3 and eventually berserker God since we can't just go ritual godhood lmao like a normal saiyan. Finally as others have pointed out karns main style is murdering shit when possible because if he just let power go unrestrained like everyone else the whole planet will get blown straight to hell and it will continue being like this until we actually hit berserker God where we finally get the benefit of going all out doesn't make us lose our damn minds.
>>
>>4957750
Fair point. If there's anybody who knows how to handle Karn, it'd be Meloka.
>>
>>4957750
I was thinking about what >>4955822 said about Karn holding back on using his more-lethal techniques while sparring and was quite amused by it, in comparison to how Meloka conducts herself.

Karn really can't use much of his 'actual fight' repertoire in a friendly match;
>Death/Scatter Beams and (Guided) Eye Beams are some of Karn's favourite tricks, but he can't really use those because shooting through your wife's heart or skull with a concentrated armour-piercing beam during a training match is generally frowned upon.
>Telekinetically snapping her neck would be quite an effective move, as she can't really see or dodge that, but that's probably a dick move, bro.
>In a fight to the death, Dragon Force kills her after a single landed right-hand punch. Kids would be pissed if dad murdered mummy while training, though.
>Karn's most powerful ki moves; off limits, too dangerous. 'Final Flash+Piercing Drill' = killing move; can't use in friendly match. Event Horizon and Red Dawn are 'fuck everything over there' and 'fuck everything over here', respectively, and would both probably wipe out all life on a good chunk of the planet if used all-out (or, really just blow up the whole planet). They can't be used, unless at <10% power.
> Even energy javelins are designed to impale and then explode, with grievous injury being the best the target can hope for if hit. He'll chuck a few in a sparring match, but probably only if he's pretty sure the training partner has a good chance of dodging/getting their barrier up in time.

Other than mundane (or slightly ki-shrouded) punches and shit, he's just stuck with only being able to use his C-tier techniques, where his power hits in a broad, unconcentrated blow with lower pressure (as opposed to highly concentrated impaling shit like death beams or Meloka's bladestorm/needles); explosive waves and broad-faced energy waves (up to final flash at the very most). (And if wanting to go harder with his explosive wave by using it in a Grinder, he has to do what we did vs Vegeta just before and wait until the end of the fight where he's exhausted so that the Grinder only has enough power behind it to smash the shit out of his opponent, rather than snapping their spine in half).

And he does in fact just stay with those safer techniques, because good-guy Karn doesn't want to hurt his friends and loved ones. Meloka's another story :-D.

(cont.)
>>
Her techniques are all just as lethally designed, focussing on throwing around lots of highly-concentrated slashing or impaling ki in the form of needle or blade flechettes, which after fucking shredding your flesh also explode. (Or she has that sky cannon shit which will just powder your bones).

But where Karn is responsible and doesn't throw out the techniques that will grievously wound his training partner if they blink at the wrong time and fail to get up their barrier or dodge in time, Meloka just doesn't give a shit and will go right ahead. Look at how our fucking chest got ripped out by her Blade Storm when we mis-stepped (rolled a 1 didnt we?) during that sparring match on one of the Covenant worlds. Dick move, sweety. Her obsession with Karn isn't the only aspect of her personality which isn't quite sane. She's like the equivalent of that guy in your Karate class who starts throwing full-power punches straight at your nose when the class is split up to do some light sparring.

I like the bitch, but she's fucking crazy. At a certain point, after she hospitalises Karn for the tenth time, the other characters are going to end up pulling her aside and saying "Dude, you need to chill the fuck out during sparring. You're being irresponsible."
>>

One thing I'll also say (because it's brought up here in terms of her working her arse off to keep up with Karn), is that despite my earlier 'Meloka-wank rant', I think the 'ki control prodigy' thing is good for the character, narrative-wise.

With the combination of Karn being the main character and also having such an 'in the face of the enemies, take their hits and keep on trucking through sheer endurance/toughness', he's going to end up getting a lot more Zenkais, other power boosts and 'I'm-the-MC-so-I'm-special' unique powers (like our Force abilities, Stand, and being a Legendary Super Saiyan), which might otherwise end up leaving the more conservative Meloka behind power-wise, beyond the point where her keeping up can be justified with 'she trains hard, too, guys!"

The prodigy thing allows her to remain competitive and relevant despite any powergap which might develop, preventing her from going to way of Yamcha, Krillin and Tien.

I only got a bit pissy about it after that one Ep155 fight, where it seemed to be being used to justify her being written as untouchably awesome, no matter how well Karn rolled. But she got sliced a bit in the Ep157 wedding fight and hit a bit vs Demigra (though nowhere near as badly as Karn did due to us rolling like absolute crap), so she's clearly not being truly written as untouchable. Ep155 seems to have just been a single iffy fight, so I don't really have too much of a problem any more and can stop screeching like a spaz.
>>
Also, I feel slightly sorry for Karn and Meloka's students; Meloka seems like she'd very much be the 'If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball" type of coach.
>>

>Meloka seems like she'd very much be the 'If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball" type of coach
To be absolutely fair, Saiyans seem to thrive when they're being constantly smacked around.

Most saiyans are like that. Karns probably one of the nicest ones around and probably one of the friendliest provided he doesn't have to kill people, but his whole life has generally been all of these people need to die or my people will probably die worse, whether it was in the early days of doing shit for frieza so he doesn't do shiity things, karn having to deal with a time patrol who wants to kill everyone in his universe, his own universe being a gigantic storm of everyone trying to play king of the universe or just generally gunning for saiyans cause karn is pretty much the gold standard for strongest mortal alive.

I'm catching up. Very pleasant epilogue.
Guardian said:
>“Destroyed, the Dark cannot be.” he’d replied seriously. “Beaten back, yes. Contained? Temporarily. But never destroyed. So long the light, there is, so too, shall Dark ever remain.”
What if Raven grabbed and separated again that mass of darkness that surrounds the spontoon. Then Beerus used Hakai on the darkness . Would the Dark still prevail?

What if we teleported Zeno to the Abyss in front of Manus? Hypothetically Zeno decides he does not like this place, Manus and the Dark and he will erase all of this. Would the Dark resist him?

That’s an excellent observation. How many times now has Meloka tried out one of her new, lethal techniques on Karn before using it in battle?
>>4957810
Yes
>>4957868
Hakai would probably win. But is Beerus allowed to?
Or would Zeno like it too much, and this is why the Grand Priest and his bodyguards keep him safe?

>Or would Zeno like it too much, and this is why the Grand Priest and his bodyguards keep him safe?
After a certain point, it feels like the Grand Priest is keeping reality at large safe from Zeno, not the other way around.
He seems incredibly naïve for somebody who could obliterate the entire universe in a matter of seconds.
It wouldn't take a genius to manipulate him into doing something dangerous. Hell, a certified retard managed to do it unwittingly.
>>
>>4957913
>After a certain point, it feels like the Grand Priest is keeping reality at large safe from Zeno, not the other way around
Absolutely sounds right.
>Hell, a certified retard managed to do it unwittingly.
I still disagree with this idea. Zeno was “allegedly” already going to destroy every universe that was slated to participate, but a tournament to let one survive sounded fun.
>>
>>4957947
>I still disagree with this idea
Fair.
the important part here is that he was willing to erase countless mortals for their perceived failures when the Gods of those respective universes are the ones truly at fault.
The way I see it, he's nothing but a threat. Somebody ought to wish his ass out of existence.
>>
>>4957899
>That’s an excellent observation. How many times now has Meloka tried out one of her new, lethal techniques on Karn before using it in battle?
To be fair who else could she possibly use it on without killing them, right? What a dangerous line of thinking. The answer is probably Ubo or Frieza.
>>
>>4957955
If it were for that reason. Go back and rewatch, Zeno decided to erase 8 of 12 universes because.... he felt there were too many universes. The whole mortal level business was only ever mentioned by the Grand Priest.
>>4957960
Freeza most likely. But Karn surviving everything, even those that should have by all rights killed him, has implanted the idea that he can’t die in those close to him
>>
>>4957964
>Go back and rewatch, Zeno decided to erase 8 of 12 universes because
I was barely able to sit through that schlock the first time, not doing it again.
>Zeno decided to erase 8 of 12 universes because.... he felt there were too many universes
That's somehow even worse. No wonder I forgot about something that stupid.
>>
>>4957966
Right? Examples like this make me think that anon is right, and GP is protecting the universe from Zeno’s capricious whims

Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

Kars and Tanya battled after the young soldier was sneak attacked by the wannabe Kai, both showing off their divine power before Karn interfered. And Kars showed off his transformation, revealing he had also copied the Super Saiyan form! But before the fight could reach any sort of resolution the Supreme Kai himself appeared, stopping the battle and apologizing to Tanya. Then Karn, after suiting up decided to investigate the hole Tanya’d blasted into the ground, discovering it travels all the way down to an underground cavern and lake. Which was occupied by an undead M’lurnian, and as we rejoin Karn, you just repelled an underwater cloud of dark magic with a tremendous clap.

“Dammit!” you think to yourself, furiously trying to think of a way to avoid letting your enemy escape through that darkness that even still seems to be expanding towards you. And suddenly an idea comes to mind! Pulling back your right fist, you then punch forward lightning fast as if trying to punch it with the air shockwave. And while the water does slow your strike a noticeable bit, it does have the intended effect. Your punch creates a pulse that ripples through the water, easily as wide across as your own body. If the undead beast is within that radius, no doubt it felt that blow.

But even more importantly, your lungs inform you that you’ll need to breathe soon. So instead of chasing that zombie, you choose to fly straight up and blast well clear of the water below. Taking several deep breaths as you ascend, your subterranean attacker doesn’t seem eager to pursue you up and out of the water. Which does give you time to plan your next move, but what can you do? Going down into the water again, it will just create another cloud of that dangerous Dark magic. But staying up here won’t help either, as it can keep firing those homing dark orbs. Unleashing your full power is a bad idea as well, as there’s no telling how dangerous to New Salda that could be.

So what do you do? What can you do?

Well?
>Dive back down, while keeping Meloka’s technique going, and try grabbing that thing with telekinesis this time
>Connect to New Salda and activate your Champion form, hopefully New Salda will be able to better track this thing than you are

“This isn’t working.” you think to yourself. This creature has too many home-field advantages down here, you need to do something to level the playing field. Then it comes to you, you may have the perfect counter. So you reach out, telepathically linking your mind directly to the Avatar of New Salda. “Hey, I need your help. Mind lending me a hand?”
“Of course, my champion.” New Salda’s booming voice answers directly into your mind. “My power is yours.”

And then you feel it, energy begins flowing into your body. The energy of New Salda, ki gathered from each and every living being on the planet surges through you, strengthening your body. But that is the least important change right now that comes with being connected to your world. Your ki senses expand, your mind now able to feel the ki of each and every single living being on the planet. Which still doesn’t connect you to any ki from whatever’s lurking in the water down below. Whatever that fishman thing is, it truly isn’t alive. But this brings you no closer to finding it.

“Is something wrong?” New Salda’s voice booms in your mind.
“I’m hunting something that isn’t alive.” you think back. “Something is hiding down here in the water.”
“Then let me help you.” New Salda replies, and before you can react it feels like someone’s poured molten metal directly into your skull.
“GRYAAAAAAAA!!” you scream in pain, clutching your head and writhing in agony. But after a few seconds the sensation abruptly ends, you almost staggering from it’s sudden absence. “Wh-What? What did you do?”
“I have given you greater sight.” New Salda replies. “Now you should be able to see the water of this world.”
“The hell? See the water?” you think to yourself, feeling confused but looking down into the dark beneath you. And it’s still pitch black, and you can’t see anything beyond your aura’s glow. But then you feel it. You feel the still waters moving beneath you, as the entity down inside it begins swimming again. Whatever that being is it’s fast, you feeling it dart through the water by sensing where the water isn’t. The sensation you feel is impossible to explain, like bugs moving on your skin except inside, but now you can track this thing. And if you can see it, you can catch it. Now only one question remains:

What do you do about this thing in your sea?
>Rush and attack, beat it down with your fists
>Activate your Energy Body, use it to protect your body while rushing in and attacking.
>Stay in the air, focus on tracking it and getting used to this new sensation before engaging it directly

“You can’t get away anymore.” you mutter, gathering ki into both hands as you sense the fishman rising back towards the surface. You’ve got it now. “HAAAAA!”

Unleashing your ki, you fire off your first pair of shots. Your emerald balls of ki blitz down into the water, you carefully aiming well wide of that thing to avoid scaring it out of your trap. You fire blast after blast down into the waves below, all of your shots going well wide of the dark magic-wielding thing. It is apparently confused by your attack, holding still so it doesn’t draw your fire. It clearly doesn’t know you can ‘see’ it now, and doesn’t seem to realize you are quickly trapping it completely inside your attack. You fire off your last dozen or so shots, finishing the dome around it up and out of the water.

“Gotcha now!” you shout excitedly, crossing your arms and activating your technique. “HAAAAA!!”

As all of your shots converge on the creature, the dozens upon dozens of blasts all explod on impact with the mysterious being. Your blasts kick up a tremendous shockwave in the water, parting the underground lake as it launches the creature sky-high. The fiery explosion lights up the spacious cavern, and for the moments you can see it, you realize it’s more than wide enough that you could park your ship resting up above down atop the lake, and not touch any of the walls down here if you opened it all up. But before you can follow up your Hellzone Grenade, suddenly a dark portal opens up between you and it. And through the fading light you see Raven stepping through, wielding a spear wreathed in darkness. Her demonic red aura outlines her form, the Guardian of New Salda accessing the power granted to her by her demonic heritage.

“Sorry that took so long.” she replies, portal shutting behind her and leaving you both in darkness. “Had to grab this first.”
“What is it?” you ask, for just a moment forgetting the monster you’d blasted. “A weapon made of shadows?”
“Not quite.” she replies, making sure to hold it back and away from you. “The Rak’kari found it by the abyssal trench back before your people arrived on this planet.”
“Huh. So what does it do?” you ask her, but then see another orb of darkness flying up ar you from below. You see it and immediately fly aside, attempting to draw the blast away from Raven. But she clearly has different ideas.

“Stay back!” she calls, lunging with the tip of her spear directly for that sphere of dark magic. You watch as her dark lance pierces into that attack, and seemingly absorbs that dark magic into itself. You feel your jaw drop open a bit, shocked at how easily her weapon no-sells that dark magic. “There. With this cursed spontoon, we’ll be able to stop this thing before it can escape to the surface.”

“Then we should-“ you start, brows furrowing as suddenly you realize more than a dozen ki signatures are approaching you all from the direction of the crab people’s settlement? Why would they be coming this way? “Huh. That’s odd.”
“What is it?” she asks, you relaying what your New Salda-enhanced senses showed you. “I can sense fourteen of them approaching, and pretty quickly too.”
“So what’s the plan?” she asks. “Do you want to wait and see what they want?”

Well?

“They can wait. We need to take this thing out, as soon as possible.” you tell her, again focusing your newly-gained senses on the sea beneath you. “I’ll draw this thing up and out of the water. And when I do, you got it.”
“Alright.” she replies, floating down between you and the water to intercept any other attacks it might try. Meanwhile you focus, feeling the water below as if it were a part of your own body. Every ripple, every movement, and the odd feeling of a portion of the natural stone wall down below being unnatural, different than all the rest. But you can’t focus on that, as you feel the creature’s movements. You can feel it swimming down, further and further towards the bottom of this massive lake. But you can also feel it struggling, your blast having clearly maimed or crippled it in some way as it no longer swims elegantly through the water.

“Got you.” you murmur, closing your eyes to focus better, and reach out with your telekinesis. The instant the beast feels your phantom force begin wrapping around it, the monster immediately begins flailing and thrashing wildly. And slips right through your grasp. “Tch. You won’t get away that easily.”

Again you reach out, but this time immediately clamp down with your telekinetic grasp. It writhes and flails like a wounded animal, desperate to avoid capture, but this time it’s yours. Wih the beast secure in your grip, you quickly lifting it up and out of this underground sea with a splash. Raven, who can clearly see better than you in this dark rusher over immediately, you feeling her ki approaching your mental hold.

“Woah. Karn, come here.” she calls, you following her ki signature down while carefully keeping your grip secure. As you fly down beside her, you see Raven create a small flame in her left hand. The light illuminates the mystery creature, you noticing Raven’s spear imbedded in the humanoid fish creature’s chest. “This....This is a M’lurnian.”
“Wait, what?” you ask, genuinely surprised. One of those ancient creatures was still, well not alive but around? Then again, this isn’t the first undead thing you’ve found since going underground, between this one, the stone armored one who you’re guessing now was another M’lurnian, and of course that skeleton dragon you sent up to space. “But how?”
“I don’t know.” she replies, tearing the spear free from it’s chest as it still squirms slightly in your grip. “But I don’t know if we can actually kill it. It’s undead, and so old it doesn’t even bleed anymore. Whatever sort of magic is keeping it’s body moving, I’m not sure I can actually do anything about it.”

>>4958288
“If it’s Dark magic, I have something that may do the trick.” you say, referencing the ancient Wolf Knight sword strapped on your back. But before you can elaborate, suddenly you hear what sounds like aggravated clacking from somewhere behind you. Both you and Raven turn, you making sure to keep a careful grip on the undead M’lurnian with your telekinesis as she brightens her flame, only to see at least a half-dozen claws raised above the water. After a second to process what you’re seeing, you realize that those approaching crab folk have arrived. “Wait, they know this place?”

“Greetings. Is everything okay?” Raven asks the group telepathically, also including you in this mental meeting. “Can I help you?”
“We came when one of our alarm runes went off, warning us of strange activity from the Last’s chamber.” the strongest of the group replies, it swimming forward closer towards you all. “We came prepared for a fight, but we were not expecting you surface dwellers to have found your way here. The only entrances are submerged and well-hidden.”
“Not anymore.” you interject, pointing up. “A battle on the land breached down here, I came to investigate what was down here. When suddenly this thing started attacking me.”

“Yes. When the rest of the M’lurnians were sealing away the dark beast, the Last was cursed with immortality and bound with duty. A duty to guard the then-only entrance to their city, and keep out all who would reawaken the beast. It is said that, long ago, the Last could speak with us. But as ages past, the curse ate away it’s sanity, until only this husk remained.”
“I wonder why the last Guardian didn’t think to mention it to you?” you send to Raven, and from the shells’ movements you think they’re all sharing looks. Until the one in front continues.

“No doubt the wise one thought knowledge of this one, the Last of the M’lurnians would stay hidden away and buried forever.” it answers. “But it seems you surface-dwellers are more destructive than even he forsaw.”
“So, what now?” you ask it, as it clearly knows far more than both you and Raven about this being. “What should we do with it?”
“Leave it be, surface dweller.” it replies instantly. “Cursed with eternal service, the Last will continue attacking outsiders until everything ends. Return to your world above the waves, seal the entrance to this place, and leave what lies down here to us.”

Well that seems rather straightforward. But what will you do?

“Eternal service? No, I don’t think so.” you reply, using your telekinesis to lift the Last further into the air away from the crab people. “His people are long gone, and this warrior deserves the chance to rejoin them.”
“Wait, what are you doing?” their leader asks you telepathically. “What are you saying?”
“Everyone deserves their rest.” you say, gathering more and more emerald ki into your right hand. “No one deserves to suffer for eternity. HAAAA!!”
“Karn-!?” Raven shouts in surprise, your overpowered blast striking the still-immobilized living corpse. Your energy ball explodes in a flash, the crabs chittering agitatedly as your explosion blinds them all. After several seconds the flash ends, and before it all goes dark again you see that your blast had done it’s job. The last M’lurnian is no more.

“Wha...What...?” one of the crab people Rak’kari asks telepathically. “What did you do to him?”
“No matter what sort of crimes they committed, everyone deserves to get their final rest eventually.” you think to them. “No one deserves to suffer forever, no matter what they may have done. Now his vigil is over, and can rejoin his own kind in the afterlife.”
“And who are you to decide?” the Rak’kari’s strongest asks you. “What gives you the right to come down into our realm, and enact your unilateral judgment as if you were some sort of god? This is our world, surface dweller.”
“It may be your world, down here beneath the waves.” you answer, emerald aura flaring as you descend. “But seeing as how your people have let this soul suffer for so long, it was time someone stepped in and righted this wrong. If you weren’t going to right your wrongs, and I find out about it, then it falls to me to correct the wrongs as I see fit. If you disagree with me, then you’re more than welcome to try and make me follow your law with all your might.”

At this all the crab folk turn and seemingly discuss your proclamation amongst themselves. Raven looks at you sideways, not saying anything but letting you and them work this out between yourselves. After several seconds you decide they’ve taken long enough, and once more reach out to them all telepathically.

“If you have any complaints with how I do things, yo know where to find me.” you say, then begin flying back up towards the surface. It takes you several seconds at your full power, blasting back up and out of the hole before dropping your Champion form. “Thank you for the help New Salda.”
“Of course. Any time, my champion.” your planet replies as the link fades out, your feet resting on the sand beside the giant hole. Which leaves you with one question:

While you stand above the pit, deciding on your next move, your stomach begins growling in protest. Well, seems your body has decided your next course of action. Time to eat.

Leaving the pit behind you walk back up the ramp and into your ship, turning down the curved hallway towards Silver and the mess hall. And to your surprise the halls are empty, not a soul awake between you and the mess hall doors. The double doors slide open as you walk up, at this hour only Silver and his boy, and a few of his students are awake, but the room is already flush with delicious smells.

“Well now, perfect timin’ General.” Silver calls out as he sees you. “C’mon, you can settle this little quibble for us.”
“What’s the problem?” you ask, walking through the empty mess and back towards the kitchen. But as you go back, the smells get even more intense and deliciously mouth-watering. “Something smells good back here. What’s for breakfast?”
“That’s the quibble.” Silver says, you walking around to see the redheaded boy Soma, and the pale, red eyed girl Alice arguing once again.

“Absolutely not!” she shouts at him, the two fighting over what looks like a whole flank of ribs from something. “That is not an acceptable breakfast food, especially for physical training. They’ll need lighter protein that won’t weigh them down as much!”
“No way! Have you seen their workouts?” he counters. “They need every ounce of raw power our food can give them.”
“What do you think Karn?” he asks, turning to you as the two keep bickering back and forth. “How do you reckon we should have them settle this?”
“Another sparring bout?” the tall, silver-haired youth asks, Silver nodding the affirmative.
“You an’ me Karn, we’ll be the judges.” he says, then smirks. “And it looks like we have our third judge as well.”

You turn as the doors slide open once more, revealing Camali of all people casually walking in.

“Mornin’ champ. Want to help us judge another competition this week?” Silver calls out, Camali nodding slowly and plodding over towards you all. Well this has certainly gotten more interesting. “C’mon. We’re figuring out the breakfast of champions over here.”
“You both know the rules.” the silver-haired youth says, a bored note to his voice. “You all have one hour to prepare and present your dishes to the judges. Your time starts...now.”

Both rush off to their respective areas, and begin preparing their dishes. Leaving you, Silver, Camali, and the silver-haired cooks as they scramble. You exchange small talk with Silver, asking how his students are coming along, how supplies are doing, and how your own students are progressing. Then before you know it, their hour is up. Time to eat.

“General. Champion. Sir.” Alice says, walking up pushing a rather sizeable cart towards you all. “For your dining pleasure. Please, enjoy.”

She then unloads three distinct platters, one for each of you and opens them all up. Steam blasts you in the face, revealing what appear to be scrambled eggs, toasted bread covered in some sort of purple jelly-like substance, several wide strips of some sort of fried meats, some sort of fried, and some sort of browned vegetable perhaps? You dig in immediately, devouring your first meal with gusto. The bread is crisp, complimented well by the purple whatever it is spread across it. Then you eat the meat strips, which, while good, leave you wanting something meatier. But you can’t think on that for long, diving into the rest of the meal as well. And before you know it it’s over, your appetite rearing for more. But there isn’t any more, at least of what she prepared. But then the redheaded boy walks up, pushing another cart. And you feel yourself about to start drooling.

“Now that you’ve had your appetizer, it’s time for the main course.” he says confidently, having to haul each individual platter up off the cart to the table with both hands. “Go ahead, open ‘em up and enjoy.”

So you do, pulling the lid off the metallic platter, and the smell of flame-scorched meats and warmed bread hits your nose.

“Oh man, that smells good.” you say, setting the platter lid aside and looking at your breakfast. Instead of the side of ribs he’d been arguing over, he’s instead brought out what looks like a giant steamed bun. You take this plate-sized mound of bread in both hands, raise it to your mouth and take a huge bite. Meat juices mix with the bread as you bite down, what tastes like a rare grilled steak mixing with the fluffyness of the baked bread and sends you away. You lose yourself in the sensations of the food, letting it take you on a trip. And then all too soon it’s over, you looking down at your hands and realizing it’s over. Your body also feels a bit heavy, you sighing out as you feel more ready for bed than heading off to train.

“Well, judges, what do you think?” the silver-haired youth asks you all. “Have you all made your decisions?”
“I believe we have.” Silver says with a smile. Camali?”

You turn, and see him surprisingly not going for the giant meat bun, instead nudging the first plate.

“That’s one for Alice’s balanced breakfast.” Silver says, then turns to you. “Karn?”

Well?
>Balanced as well, you were ready to work after it, but after this delicious meat bun you’re more ready for a nap

Light meals before training are actually ideal I believe. Less blood being redirected to your stomach to aid digestion.

I almost went for a "well actually the best meal would be somewhere between the two choices" write in, but nah, we were asked to pick one of them. I bet Silver will mention something like that anyways and Karn isn't the best person to try to teach them like >>4958599 said lol

“Well my vote is absolutely for the meat bun.” you reply immediately, the pale girl folding her arms and pouting a bit. “Sure it’s a bit heavy, and I’m feeling like I’d rather take a nap than go train right now, I know this’ll keep me going a lot longer than the first dish will. Sure I feel a little heavier at first, but that’ll get worked off quick enough.”
“Well said Karn.” Silver says, then addresses the two. “Both of you have made excellent dishes. Soma, your dish was catered near-exclusively towards your main client’s tastes. For any cook or chef, knowing your clients is just as important as knowing how to work your ovens.”

“Yesss!” the redhead says, clenching his fist in celebration as if he’s already won.
“However.” Silver continues, interrupting the boy Soma. “That isn’t the only thing to consider. Your meal, outside of those highly motivated Saiyans like Karn’s family or the man himself, will prove too heavy for them to work out on. Karn himself even admitted as much. So, for today’s challenge, I must declare Alice the winner.”
“Ha! I told you!” she shouts back in his face, clearly enjoying her victory a moment before turning back to you three, clasping her hands and giving you all a smile. “Thank you all so much for judging both of our dishes to the best of your ability. I appreciate each of your kind words and criticisms of my cooking, and will strive to keep improving.”

“What was that about cooking?” Chaya asks, you turning to see your oldest daughter walking in. She, Broly, and the older twins Tatsu and Tomi all walk in together, leading the younger twins, Caulifla, and Meloka holding the two youngest, Okira and Karn Jr. “Is breakfast ready?”
“Of course, coming right up!” Alice says to her sweetly, tossing a smug look the redhead’s way. “Let’s get to work!”

And so you go back and sit with your family in the mess hall, leaving the mess hall staff to their work. Meloka looks to you questioningly, but doesn’t ask why you’re already up. You’ll explain what happened with Tanya and the Last M’lurnian later, but for now you just relax and enjoy yourself, spending quality time sitting here with your family as they chatter waiting for their breakfasts as well. This is why you struggle, who you go through hell to protect. Your children are all gathered here together, enjoying being with each-wait. Hold on a moment. When did Chilli get back here?

Not without either some serious magical effort, or a well-crafted blessing from a water goddess. What happened there is New Salda granted you a bit more of how it perceives itself.
You’ll have to wait and perhaps ask him next time.
Moreso that you came down into “their” realm, and just Decided to do what you did. I can OOC explain it, from the context clues from before when you talked to pic related guy about the Mindslayers.

QM UPDATE

Got a head start on the epilogue for 160 last night, and am already almost four full posts in. Who’s curious and excited to see what the Time Patrol have been up to since their devastating loss at Chilli’s wedding?

>>4960003
>gif
Classic.
>>
>>4960541
I would say that the Time Patrol would be getting some serious therapy and proper training, but I'm almost certain Chronoa is content to let them try the same bullshit over and over.
>>
>>4960559
>therapy
Probably not. Because then they’d have to admit they did something WRONG.
>and proper training
You’ll see soon.
>but I'm almost certain Chronoa is content to let them try the same bullshit over and over.
Normally? Yes. When their performance led to a version of her DYING? Not a chance. They have to get better. All of them
>>
>>4960707
I remember asking this at one point, but I figure now's a great time to clarify.
Does Trunks actually remember what happened to him? Or does it all just turn to white after the first slam?
>>
>>4960762
Remember? No, not really. But he does witness it when he must look back at the scroll.
>>
>>4960869
Oh my god that must be fucking terrifying, seeing yourself get absolutely mauled when all your friends just stand by and watch.
And then you can't even remember anything about it, but you know that it happened.
>>
>>4960873
Right? The last thing he remembered is Karn grabbing him by the face. And then the next thing he knew, he was right back at the Time Nest. And only found out his fate when rewatching the scroll.
>>
>>4960884
Man, that's gotta be a sobering experience for the Time Patrol.
Just suddenly showing up back in the Time Nest when you were just in the middle of a fight you had been training your ass off for.
Then the realization that you bit the fucking dust hits.
Then the patrollers with brain-cells start to think about the fact that their boss seems to be more concerned about the fact that you lost as opposed to the fact that you pretty much just died.
>>
>>4960541
Can't wait. Bet Chronoa tossed a bitch-fit at all of the fighters.

Is it possible that they are considering using some of the prisoners they have at the jail that Karn escaped once from?
>>
>>4960971
That’s the big thing. When they “Die” on missions, well you’ll see soon enough. The magic of the Time Scrolls is ancient stuff, far older than Chronoa or her original predecessors.
Some handle their death, or even deaths far better and easier than others.
>>4961424
Not quite. But fixing what happened to her took her actual effort.

Off-topic but how do you feel about the lore we're getting with Vegeta's new form
>>
>>4962129
Haven’t seen any spoilers for the upcoming chapter, but from what I’ve already seen the Hakaishin “form” is certainly interesting. Between Vegeta and Toppo, I’m sure we’ll get some more interesting reveals to it.
>>
>>4962026
Do any of the time patrol actually know the time loli got murdered by karn once? Or are they gonna be extremely confused why she is raging at them for this?
>>
>>4962972
Bold assumption she would show genuine weakness.
>>
>>4963213
Bold of anyone she would show anything even resembling humanity.
>>
>>4962972
Some do, like Trunks and Burcol. Most of the others have been kept in the dark, for obvious reasons.
>>4963213
Not when she can help it, especially in wartime.
>>4963225
True. But, she’s also non-human, and has been around at least longer than your timeline. She’s seen the birth and death of more Entire Timelines than Karn has civilizations.
>>
>>4962129
Just read the new chapter, so I can fairly share my thoughts on the new ultra caveman Vegeta.
>Ultra Ego
Far more thematically-appropriate to Vegeta than just giving him the the same GoD form Toppo had, or Ultra Instinct. And this is, in my opinion, the objectively-best transformation to come out of Super. A transformation for a hero should come with a downside, like the Kaio-Ken, Boros’ Meteoric Burst, etc. Or if not, either be something they work hard to earn, or realizing a maturation of the character like Cell Saga Gohan. Trading what is essentially meat points for bigger stat boosts is a fantastic, thematic concept for a character as traditionally glass-cannony as Vegeta. Unfortunately, I think I see where this arc or the next is going. Ultra Ego-stinct Gogeta/Vegito
>>
>>4963429
The most appropriate thing about it is his Ego-centric form led to him jobbing again. Peak Vegeta right there.
>>
>>4963502
Well, unlike earlier in the fight against Goku, Vegeta’s still transformed. So clearly Goku’s healing himself, once he’s ready he’s gonna split apart like he did training against Whis, and have one the Goku healing Vegeta while Granola fights the others.
>>
>>4963429
That's good. I wish it had a better name but I guess "Mastery of Egotism/Will" is just too complicated for English readers. It's why we didn't get "Mastery of Selflessness" for Ultra Instincts.

Also, I do like this gimmick for Vegeta but I hate the shitpost that comes with people thinking it was stolen from the anime with the Wolf Guy. Goku Black is more plausible for comparison if you must make it.
>>
>>4963560
>with people thinking it was stolen from the anime with the Wolf Guy
I don’t exactly follow opinion people on dragonball for exactly that reason, most fans can’t read. Bergamo takes the power of your strikes and adds it to his own might, like how U6’s president xi sends it to another dimension. Whereas this, on top of being simply Stronger than the angels’ limit breaker form, seems reliant on the damage one takes. Wonder if it’s only for as long as you’re injured, or if it is a form that reintroduces getting Zenkai boosts when fully recovered?
>>
>>4963578
You mean Botamo? And who's to say, regardless of what it ends up being this means that Vegeta now has the same potential to be unlimited in strength and power like Goku Black, Broly, Jiren, etc.
>>
>>4963997
Yes, china’s president Winnie the Poo. More transformations need to be like this, with both positives and negative aspects. Unlike anime blue-per Saiyan, which just seems to be an all-around “better” version of Super Saiyan without ever being meaningfully earned. It’ll certainly be interesting to see what happens next

>And once you truly know your opponent, you can think like them!”
Shellshock's lesson made me wonder. Since Karn has telepathy could Raven, Old Guardian or Bane teach him mind reading? I'm mean in a level that would give him ability to witness what's in opponent's head in real time. Something like:
>Enemy thinks:
> "I'm gonna to attack him with everything I have in a melee assault. He's going to focus on me, but my Death Saucer that he dodged few moments earlier is not gone. I will attack Karn while guiding Saucer to him so it will cut him from behind."
>Karn's mind reading allows him to know of this before opponent even started to make this plan happen.
I'm not saying mind reading would "on" all the time, but more of a skill he can focus on someone he chooses.

Though this leads to a different question. Could taking such an ability even further with its training lead to some sort of telepathy related passive? How much could Karn achieve here?
>>
>>4964041
Agreed. Even Ultra Instinct has both positives and negatives as evident by the Granolah arc (and by extension the more one). Manga Blue is also perfect in that regard to which the anime fucking demolishes. Even Super Saiyan remains to have some drawbacks despite the decades as evident that Goku and co can't muster the calming focus to pull off moves like the Kaioken or the spirit bomb in the form.
>>
>>4964076
I just wish the Creator Gods/Kaioshin had the same pathos for development. But that potential has been lost with both Gohan/Trunks and Zamasu.
>>
Epilogue nearly done, finishing up the last post here in the next little bit. SOON

>>4964057
That’s well beyond even what you could gain from this timeskip. Even if you dropped everything else, Raven isn’t to that point yet even with her advantages.
>>4964076
True. I give Toyotaro shit for his art, hell the sketches I get from some of my comm’d artists look better than his finished pieces. But his re-working of Blue is really good.
And yes, but losing the ferocity of Super Saiyan over the years did lessen it.
>>4964079
They have the ultimate weapon: the Potara. On top of their divine creation magics, which again Toyotaro pulled off excellently with his iteration of Fused Zamasu.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 160 Epilogue-

AGE 860, THE TIME NEST

“Let’s GOOOOOOOO!!” Doto, the built warrior wearing Universe 11’s colors shouts as he unleashes a tremendous uppercut. His strike is so powerful it fires a column of flame-like crimson energy, launching Karn up into the air. “Rhyme!”
“Whutisgoin!” Rhyme shouts, teleporting above Karn with a massive death ball held in his fingertips. And with a shout fires it down. “Deion! Catch!”
“Shotgun bitch!” he shouts, pulling his fist back and preparing to fire off one of Hit’s techniques. “RRRRAAAAAAA!!”

“GYAAAAAAAAA!!” Karn cries out in pain, blood spraying from his mouth as Deion’s invisible force strike catches him in the heart and sends him flying. Karn crashes through Baby Vegeta and a Super Saiyan 4 woman battling before sliding on the ground to a stop, body losing it’s transformations as he falls limp. They, they actually did it! They beat Karn!

You are Trunks. Son of Vegeta and Bulma, longtime Time Patroller, Super Saiyan God and apprentice to the Supreme Kai of Time. The Time Patrol have been facing Mechikabura’s forces for years now, but unfortunately you all have lost nearly as many battles as you’ve won. And the most devastating of your defeats had come a month ago thanks to the fate-defying monster Karn, when he actually managed to kill a version of the Supreme Kai of Time herself! Yet it seems the training everyone has been undergoing have paid off, the Three Idiots easily able to handle him at his full power from the encounter at the Crimson Demon village. You are watching several promising teams battling the furious Saiyan across several different screens, Burcol’s team of three led by the enigmatic Mr. Jones are still struggling against Karn and Meloka, while the Three Idiots have seemingly managed to put their Karn down.

“It looks like your team managed to pull off a pretty incredible win.” Burcol says, your fellow Saiyan watching the screens with his arms crossed beside you. “Their skills have certainly improved.”
“Their mentors have been working tirelessly with each of them.” you say, watching as Deion uses Hit’s Time Skip to dodge a furious Meloka’s charge, reappearing behind her with his boot planted square in her temple. “But I’m most curious about Rhyme’s development.”
“You mean Ultra Instinct?” he asks, chuckling a bit to himself as Deion’s kick sends Meloka flying towards Rhyme. “Well, having no thoughts certainly helps.”
“BASTARDS!!” she roars, flipping into a wild spin with her twinned blades at the Freeza race. But Rhyme attacks the moment her blades swing into his Golden form’s blazing aura, striking her in the face with a right jab and immediately followed with a left downward blow that sends her crashing down into the ground. “Kyaaaaa!”
>>
>>4964628
“Fair and honest!” Rhyme taunts, dropping into a low spinning kick that turns into a low tail strike. He ends the combo with raising his right hand and causing the ground itself to explode upwards, launching Meloka into the air. “Deion!”
“WwwwwwwWHUTISGOIN WHUTISGOIN WHUTISGOIN?!” he shouts, firing off three of his invisible ki punch strikes that rock her around, ending with launching her back towards the ground. Right at the hulking Doto.
“Tch! I’ll kill every last one of you!!” Meloka roars furiously, orienting on Doto and spinning her blades towards him. But he doesn’t move or try and avoid it, instead he simply lifts his energy-coated hand palm-up towards her. Her blade strikes his hand, Doto’s energy immediately spreading from him and binding Meloka in place. “What?!”

“Oh you wanna Try Something!” he says, lifting his other palm full of energy towards her. His energy all explodes at once, sending Meloka flying away as he then quickly creates a spinning ball of ki overhead. “Here, take a little more with you!”
“Kyaaaaaaaaah!!” she cries out in pain, his energy exploding and consuming her form completely for several moments. When the smoke clears, it’s clear that she’s been taken out of that fight completely. Looks like they really are more than able to take the two of them on now. You’re about to call them back, when a third fighter steps forward. And you decide to wait and see how this plays out. They may be able to fight at Karn’s level, but what about Gogeta’s?

“Karn. Meloka. That both of them fell to the three of you is unforgivable.” Freeza says, golden form gleaming bright despite the dome of darkness around the arena they all are in. He then crosses his arms before himself, then throws them wide as the dark energy of the Time Breakers’ Supervillain power begins consuming him. His aura grows several times the size it was, Freeza glaring at them with hate in his eyes as he takes his wide-arm stance. “You must all die by my hand!”
“Freeza? Freeza? Tsk, man, step back.” Deion says, walking forward arrogantly. “I’ll show him true BO-!”

What Deion was saying is interrupted, as before the Patroller can react Freeza’s already attacked. Before a Super Saiyan Blue Evolution warrior, with mastery over Time Skip could react, Freeza closed the distance and shoved his hand straight through your fellow Saiyan’s chest.

“-Wer?” Deion reacts after a second, looking down and seeing Freeza’s arm through his chest. “Wha?
“DEION!!” the other two shout, voices full of concern. But Freeza’s done playing games, opening his fist and firing a Scatter Beam towards the other two. Rhyme dodges without thinking, body already dashing forward before Doto’s even moved.
>>
>>4964631
“Rhyme, wait!” Doto shouts while leaping aside, but his Golden ally doesn’t hesitate. He dashes forward, flipping over both Deion and Freeza and readying an attack. But as he swings, Freeza wraps his tail around his distant kin’s fist. “Oh no!”
“I think he’s done.” Burcol says, you both watching as Rhyme flips laterally over his right shoulder and firing a shockwave with his left fist. Freeza blocks this, letting go with his tail and sliding back a few feet. But then Freeza stops, and reaching back out of Deion’s body with his right hand catches Rhyme with his psychic powers.

“Hmph. Impudent whelp.” Freeza says, raising his other hand and Death Beaming through Rhyme’s head. Held frozen in place with telekinesis Ultra Instinct means little, the beam punching through his head with ease. His fellow Golden form being drops his transformation, Rhyme going limp as the shot kills him instantly. “And then there was one.”
“Great. Now I have to carry both of you.” Doto says, stepping up and flaring his fiery aura. “Freeza! Your time has come! I Fight for My Friends!!”

Doto blitzes forward, making a big show of his charge. But Freeza doesn’t notice, or doesn’t care that Doto subtly drops a pair of Senzu as he flies right over Deion’s open hand. Doto roars and swings a heavy right fist, but it doesn’t connect as Freeza again catches one of the Time Patrol with his telekinesis. Such a useful technique, you wonder if you could possibly learn it?

“And then there were zero.” Freeza replies, firing a Death Slash right into Doto’s head and chest. Who is unable to unleash his Try Something counter, bound up by telekinesis as he was. Doto drops down to his knees as Freeza releases him, clutching at his chest as blood pours freely from him. “This one’s for Karn.”

Freeza then draws back his left hand, energy gathered for the finishing blow, and swings. But just as Freeza swings, Doto gives him one last insult. Again Doto raises his energy-clad hand, his Try Something special immediately wrapping back around Freeza and binding him.

“Wh-What?!” Freeza shouts, shocked as his body is immediately paralyzed by the counter he learned from the one and only Jiren. “You-!”
“Heh. Hey Freeza.” he says, rising unsteadily to his feet and drawing his right fist back. “TRY SOMETHING!!”
“GYAAAAAAAA!!” Freeza shouts, blasted back and away as Doto detonates the last of his energy. You watch as he then falls over, the three of them all having passed away. You active the special time scroll, calling the three of them back into this hidden room beneath the Time Nest. All three return to you in a flash of light, bodies and souls reunited as the scroll’s magic undoes all the damage they had received in that other time.
>>
>>4964633
“Welcome back.” you say by way of greeting, the three fighters materializing in a flash of light. “Impressive fighting you three.”
“Tsk! Maaaaaan, get me back in there!” Deion shouts, immediately re-ascending to Blue. “I’mma beat all three o’ they asses next time!”
“Not gonna lie, didn’t expect Freeza of all people to end that run.” Doto says, turning to Rhyme. “At least -I- landed a hit on ‘em.”
“Man, all you landed was that bullshit counter.” Rhyme retorts, then turns back to you. “C’mon, let us back at ‘em. This time I’m gonna perfect him!”
“You three need to take a break, you’ve been at it for four hours straight already.” you say, then gesture to the nearly-empty sack in Doto’s hand. “Get yourselves something to eat that isn’t beans, relax a bit, then come on back. This fight is not going anywhere.”

The three of them exchange friendly bickering and teasing on their way up the stairs and out the door, the sounds of their conversation stopping the instant the door shuts. You then turn to Burcol, offering him the scroll. He looks at you in confusion, you gritting your teeth and transforming. Divine energy surges from deep within you, the flame-like aura of Super Saiyan God blazing to life around you.

“Now it’s my turn.” you answer his unspoken question, Burcol simply nodding to you once. Activating the scroll, you feel the flash of godly magic throughout your body as everything around you disappears. A second or later the light ends, you finding yourself facing down Karn once again. He notices you immediately, standing over your corpse with his right arm drenched in your blood, you suppress a shiver while staring him down. “Karn! I will defeat you!”
“Good. I haven’t killed you enough yet!” he roars, theviolent, demonic energy of the Supervillain power granted by Towa surging up around him. “This is for Tatsu! HRRRAAAAAAA!!”

As Karn roars he charges headlong at you, no doubt expecting you to fall as easily as this previous version of you had. But you’ve been training. Every day you’ve been pushing your limits, both surpassing your physical limits as well as your mental weaknesses. You’re no longer the scared boy who faced him a month ago. This time you’re finally ready. Ready to face Karn as an equal. But to your shock he suddenly smirks, which is somehow even more terrifying than his wild rage.

“Heh. HRRRRYAAAAAAA!!” he roars, pulling his right fist back and twisting around into a left turning kick. You raise your right forearm vertically, and brace it with your left hand. His shin slams into your forearm, sending you sliding a few feet to your left. But you successfully blocked another of Karn’s hits! You can do this! You can actually do this!
>>
>>4964635
“I’m done being beaten by you!” you roar, flaring your divine aura and charging forward towards him. “Hrrrraaaaaaaaa!!”
“Bring it!” he replies, taking his stance as you charge. While dashing forward your right hand goes to your blade, but you have no intentions of actually using it. But as you charge forward, you see his stance shift, preparing to intercept a sword strike by creating a left-handed ki blade. But as you close the distance and swing down with your right, Karn’s blade coming to life to intercept, but as your hand passes underneath his upraised arm Karn realizes at the last second you baited him. “Wha-?”

“HAAAAAAAA!!” you roar, throwing your right hand open and firing a full-power energy wave straight into his face. Your energy slams into him, staggering the giant man a couple steps back. As he does you dash back in, swinging a solid left square into his guts. Before he can recover you start swinging with all you’ve got, throwing dozens of powerful blows into his gut before launching him straight into the air with a right uppercut to the chin. As he soars sky-high, you throw both hands up and unleash your energy, forming a dome of power around you. “YOU NEED TO BE STOPPED! HAAAAAAA!!”

Unleashing everything you’ve got, your fiery energy explodes upwards, the explosive blast consuming Karn completely. You feel your energy grinding Karn’s own, his strength dropping by the second as you unleash one hundred percent of your divine power for nearly a minute. But as your energy begins flagging you end the attack, nearly dropping to a knee as a wave of exhaustion hits you. But then you see Karn, and you feel ecstatic! Karn’s knocked out! You watch as his unconscious body, reverted back to his base form, slowlydrops from the sky down towards you. You actually did it, you beat Karn!

“I-I did it.” you pant, catching your breath after that all-out attack. Karn crashes to the ground before you, still clearly out as you stand over him. “I did it! I-I beat-! Karn?”
“No....Not....” he suddenly says, and to your shock begins pushing himself upright. You back up several paces, shocked that even with his armor blasted to tatters and his body clearly in terrible shape from your Cell-erasing beam, he’s still alive. Arms hanging limply by his sides, eyes still closed and knees trembling trying to keep him upright, but somehow still standing. “Not. Yet.”
“It’s over, you lost! Stay down!” you shout, determined to take him out of the fight for good this time before he can do anything crazy. Quickly you gather your ki into both hands raised overhead, then throw your fiery ki blast at him with a “Finish Buster!”

Your torso-sized ki ball flies towards Karn, you certain it’s going to his, when suddenly he moves.
>>

https://youtube.com/watch?v=djQA-olaya0

The instant before your fiery blast would have struck Karn down, his upper body twists clockwise while leaning back and towards the left. Your blast soars right through the space he’d been standing, Karn holding the pose a second before staggering a bit and having to plant his front foot back to avoid falling over. For an instant you’d assumed the worst, but maybe he just got lucky. He won’t get lucky a second time.

“I’m ending this right now!” you shout, throwing both arms wide and preparing to fire off your father’s signature Final Flash. But as you do, suddenly you can’t move. You can’t feel your body, and as you try taking a breath find you can’t do that either. Looking down, nothing makes sense. A forearm is sprouting from your chest. Following it down, you see it’s Karn’s, who suddenly opens his silvered eyes. His face isn’t one of anger, pity, or mercy, in fact he blinks twice as if he’s just as confused as you are. But your vision’s going dark, and you just close your eyes as you realize you’re dying.

The next thing you realize, you find yourself standing back in the secret chamber built beneath the Time Nest. Burcol is looking troubled, and after a second realize why. The two of you aren’t alone anymore.

“Man, Trunks. You just got folded by Karn.” Doto says, chuckling to himself. “Wouldn’t let that happen to me though.”
“Let me at him, let me at him! I’mma beat that man ass!” Rhyme shouts, his voice full of confidance.
“Hold on. Is that-?” Deion asks, sniffing at the air. “Am I smelling some con-fi-dance?!”

“Confidance? Let’s goooooo!” Doto shouts, the three of them hyping each other up to get back in there and try to force Karn into ascending again. And to your surprise you find yourself smiling. Sure, this Karn somehow pulled another win out of his ass, but you are constantly improving. And today, you managed to actually get a win over Karn’s form that easily killed you before. And the Three Idiots are improving at a tremendous rate, the three of them already able to keep up to to the likes of the Super Saiyan 4s Goku and Vegeta, without fusing. They’re still nowhere close to Gogeta or Vegito, or even Chaya or Ace’s level of power yet, but at the rate they’re powering up, it wouldn’t surprise you if they surpass them in a few more months. “Hey, don’t get down on yourself Trunks. I’m sure you’ll get him next time. Now, send us back in there. I’ve gotta beat his ass!”

“Heh. You bet.” you reply, holding out the scroll to the three of them. They all scramble to grab it first, and they all disappear again in a flash of light. “Get in there, and go get ‘em!”

I can't wait for the day we finally raid the Time Nest and in front of their eyes shatter the super balls and seize the time scrolls. No fucking do-overs against the most lethal fighters in time.

Trunks' attitude is infuriating. Literally the only reason he even walks away from his encounters is because he has a 0% chance of actually dying. I think he's forgotten what it feels like to actually LIVE, because he is so unworried about dying. Like a child.
>>
>>4964635
>You raise your right forearm vertically, and brace it with your left hand. His shin slams into your forearm, sending you sliding a few feet to your left. But you successfully blocked another of Karn’s hits! You can do this! You can actually do this!

What a loser.
>>
>>4964732
Look, it's a vast improvement for him.
Just a month ago we killed him like he was a common mook.
>>
>>4964718
Yes, but look at it from his perspective. That’s the single-best he’s EVER performed against that version of Karn, and he still died. How many times do you think he’s “died” now in the past month of training against Supervillain Karn alone? Not even counting any missions against Mechikabura’s forces. And unlike before, he’s actually been unafraid of “death” and keeps going at Karn again and again. Unfortunately, next time the two of you battle he’ll have shed a lot of those old fear debuffs. As for raiding Conton City, if it happens it won’t be under this form of Mechikabura.
>>4964732
He’s not going into this fight with a winner’s mentality. But it’s Trunks, so not unexpected.
>>4964753
Usually mooks don’t get disrespected that badly in front of friends and family
>>
>>4964756
>Usually mooks don’t get disrespected that badly in front of friends and family
Usually friends and family don't just fucking stand there while you become the victim of a hate crime.
Everybody on Trunks' team that day should feel bad about doing fuck-all while that happened.
>>
>>4964761
To be fair, it happens a lot more than people think. How many liveleaks have you seen of one guy getting jumped, and the people they’re with not do a single thing to help them until their “friend” is bleeding out on the concrete? People scare easily and more often than not freeze up when confronted with real, unbridled violence. Not saying they shouldn’t feel bad for it, but it’s an understandable reaction.
>>
>>4964756
He can work that good shit all he wants for now, and I'll acknowledge he's earned it pushing himself as he has, but that won't save him once we unlock Berserker 3.
>>
We really need the scientists to develop a hypoxia chamber for us. Maybe the combination of low oxygen, high gravity (and maybe even toss in high heat) might allow us to work on our base powerlevel while maintaining Berserker form (for mastery). Even if it doesn't, it will still help to improve our gainz when we do train base.
>>
>>4964756
That's the problem though. He actually dies when he fights Karn. That's the absolute worst fucking outcome. If it weren't for the constant revives he would have Game Over'd ages ago. And he's acting like hot shit knowing full well that he has to cheat not even to win but to not lose. It's so fucking lame. Trunks is lame. Fuck Geeters have a kid so we can parade how fucking rad he is compared to Trunks already goddammit.
>>
>>4964874
Yeah, how old is our Vegeta now? That little bloke needs to produce an heir already. We need baby Spud to show how much cooler he is than Trunks.

The thing with this 'parallel quest' training that the time patrol are doing, is that it's teaching them to act as if each of their fights versus Karn have no stakes/consequences; "Oh well, he fucked us up. Let's reset and go again". That's going to bite them when shit gets real and the results matter. Whereas for Karn, every fight means everything.
>>
>>4964883
Give a year to Karn and his ilk and you'll have bunch of flying past their previous limits while they train like their lives are on the line, which they are.
Give a year to the Time Patrol and they'll just butt their heads against the wall, making painfully slow gains while they keep making pretty much all of the same mistakes that got them killed the last dozen times.

You would think at least one of them would try and figure out why a force that's conclusively inferior in terms of manpower and resources keeps fucking them up.
>>
>>4964897
>You would think at least one of them would try and figure out why a force that's conclusively inferior in terms of manpower and resources keeps fucking them up.
Plot armor?
>>
>>4964967
lol. True.
>>
>>4964967
Yeah, basically.
>>
Episode 161 in just under 24 hours, let’s go!

>>4964789
Quite possibly.
>>4964848
Combining such a thing with transformations is an absolutely terrible idea, due to the severe stress the forms put on your organs.
>>4964874
Yes. And he’s done so so many times now he’s mostly numb to it. Which does give a different debuff, but he managed to peel off a majority of the others.
And young Vegeta isn’t worried about a legacy yet.
>>4964883
They do have their fights against Mechikabura’s forces where things matter, but this sort of ‘numbing’ training may come back to bite Trunks especially in the ass.
>>4964897
Not even a force, as they have their fair share of wins against Mechikabura’s various other people. But one guy. Karn just fights them differently, like absolutely every fight is his last one. Because to him, it could damn well be. That is something we see characters lose in canon, especially with the likes of Goku. Every single death after his grandpa’s didn’t matter. Everyone important to him from that point forward, death didn’t matter. Which you see in his attitude as the series progressed.
>>
>>4964646
>Confidance
That's not how you spell 'Confidence'.
>>
>>4965167
Maaaan Trunks doesn't even appreciate being alive any more. What a tool.

>>4965196
Well those two things are not the same. It is a feeling exclusive to el tres idiotas.

And maybe the Ginyus.
>>
>>4964646
So does PQ Karn even have DDF, cause if not this training is absolutely fucking useless for them and they kind of are asking to get bent in half once again.
>>
>>4965167
One day I wonder if we'll reach the "meloka point", where the body fully adapts to our transformation and refuses to go back down.
Just fuckin...permanently all beefed-up in Berserker form. Absolutely gargantuan, casually.
>>
>>4965277
I mean, that's one of our currents goals isn't it? Just acclimating to Ascended Berserker and staying transformed constantly.
Sure it's with the intent of making the transition to Berserker 3 that much easier, but it's not like it doesn't come with its own benefits.
>>
>>4964756
So what your saying is, we need to put the fear of his God back in him.
>>
>>4965167
So Pink Bitch's plan is training her goons to be more efficient at the Zerg rush zombies strategy. And I can't help but notice none of their matches has Karn use Devine Dragon Force, which they can't stop. This is like watching Log Horizon all over again.
>>
>>4965300
That's the thing, I'm pretty sure everybody there besides Chronoa herself is unaware of Divine Dragon Force's existence.
Now obviously Goku and Vegeta saw it for a few seconds when we ganked their fusion, but from what I can tell Goku just assumed it was a really strong Dragon Fist and Vegeta never questioned him.
>>
>>4965311
All their effort, undone by a long red dragon boy. And Karn because these idiots are still trying to pass basic training.
>>
>>4965326
It's kinda funny. You'd think Chronoa would want to inform the Time Patrol about the number one threat to them. But then she'd have to willingly expose a weakness within herself, and you know she's not gonna do that.
As it stands, the only other patroller who might be able to defend themselves against DDF is Jotaro.
>>
>>4965340
Not even that anymore, Time Stop doesn't work on Karn anymore. And Jotoro is always going to be a softer target than Star Platinum.
>>
>>4965344
Well, I bet Jotaro is gonna figure this out sooner or later and compensate for it.
He's got no shortage of fighters to learn from in Conton City after all, I'm sure there's at least one technique he could learn that would level the playing field.
>>
>>4965348
He only gets one shot, and his usual trump isn't going to be half as effective.
>>
>>4965196
But they don’t have confidence. They have ConFiDaance. Which generally precedes whoever has it getting absolutely folded
>>4965201
Hard to appreciate being alive when you spend all day dying.
And the one Rhyme learned it from, Doggo girl.
>>4965247
They wouldn’t know, unless they got hit by it.
>>4965277
Possibly, if you train diligently until Beerus’ arrival.
>>4965296
Ha.
>>4965300
Not quite. Zerg rushing, yes. But also being powerful enough to blitz down enemies like a level 50 Xenoverse2 character against the difficulty spike Freeza/Cooler mission.
Not the best plan, but an effective one if it works.
>>4965311
Those Majins’ know. Wonder where they were during all this?
>>4965326
>because these idiots are still trying to pass basic training.
The Three Idiots plan is simple, really. Get stronger, and learn Karn’s fighting style inside and out until they can predict his attack before he even pulls back a fist.
>>4965340
You right. Mostly. Jotaro’s not the ONLY Stand-wielder she has on employ.
>>4965344
Za Warudo is good, but hardly Jotaro’s best weapon.
>>4965348
He’s certainly taken the time to improve himself after you’d nearly killed him escaping Chronoa’s prison.
>>
>>4965340
to be fair only a stand can fight a stand normally, except for mechikabura who is broken as all hell, and not even the most broken thing in heroes these days.
>>
>>4965471
>Not quite. Zerg rushing, yes. But also being powerful enough to blitz down enemies like a level 50 Xenoverse2 character against the difficulty spike Freeza/Cooler mission.
>Not the best plan, but an effective one if it works.
Only against something as equally as effective as a wheat threaser going through a kindergarten.
>The Three Idiots plan is simple, really. Get stronger, and learn Karn’s fighting style inside and out until they can predict his attack before he even pulls back a fist.
Unga Bunga is they're bread and butter I suppose.

Are the Three Idiots aware that Karn usually has a massive sword on him? Because if I recall correctly, we didn't have it during the wedding, which is what their current PQ is based on.
That alone would make for a significant difference in Karn's style, and that's before whatever passive ability we pick coming into play.
Then there's also Karn's allies. They might have a grasp on Meloka and Frieza to some extent, but what about King Vegeta and Ubo?
Imagine the both of them in Supervillain form. Towa should definitely give them seals just to mix things up next time.
>>
>>4965473
>and not even the most broken thing in heroes these days.
Right? I mean, shitposter kun missed that very important point with their trolling. We’re not there yet. Although, events may play out far differently this time...
>>4965508
True.
One of them rocks that unga bunga for sure, when not Time Skipping.
A possibility.
>>4965525
Yes, but that’s something that’s just asking to get Try Something’d.
The passive is certainly going to mix them, no matter which you choose.
Freeza, when Golden Supervillain is in the same league as Apex Chaya and Super Saiyan Blue Evolution Kaio-Ken Ace. He’s the biggest threat at that point, even moreso than Karn.
Ubo’s not as big a threat, as space rocks can be sent through time right into the patrollers’ hands.
>>
I dunno about you guys, but I’m really excited about this episode. If things go according to plan, we’ll finally have the vote for training our passive Sunday, and it’ll be left open through the week just like the transformation vote.
