Currently fixing the rail system inside the keep. We found it had been disrupted by a dungeon heart popping up in what was an abandoned underground, removed the heart, and made a call to Stella to have her find us rails to repair the missing ones.

***

[Understood. Measurements?]
[Give me a minute.]

We measure the 'holes' in the rails and send off the specs. We are going to have to make a few adjustments in the site to get them to fit properly, though.

"Wait, if I understood this whole thing right, Master, the new rails will come in a cart, right?" Our horny strawberry maid looks at the missing rail sections
"Yes."
"How will the carts know when to stop? This isn't a station."

I thought the car would have an onboard AI that would detect the missing track and automatically stop the car, since the golems here are pretty advanced.

I thought about it, but majung an automata just to go [Go] [Stop] seemed rather cruel to me. A hole puncher or an assembly line machine doesn't need a consciousness, either, though they may be overseen by one.

How about "ERROR Invasion Part II: The Error Walker Strikes Back"? Also, good morning.

"Wait, big brother, are you trying to catch it from the front? I mean, even if you succeed, won't the rails just fly off the cart everywhere!?" Zoe's fluffy tail is all ruffled up as she stands on tipties,
"I was going to try and wait by the side, catch it from the side, and slow it down bit by bit." Lies, we hadn't thought about it, but our kittymouto doesn't needs to know that,
"Oh, as expected of respected older brother." She calms down and nods nods

Well, we have everyone buff us, and get ready to sprint in the direction we hear the cart coming from. I guess we should be thankful its not a magnetic rail system or we wouldn't even hear it come.

Note to self: If we build a cargo rail system, maybe build a magnetic one? Less noise for the neighbors, and surely we can adapt the rockitship system to make it as cheap as possible to have levitating carts.

"I can hear it coming from that way." Ah, our elfie princess' ears twitch slightly, and she points us.
"Wait, this is a tunnel, it is probably the echo. It might be coming from the opposite way." Comments Zoe
"I know about the echo, I lived in a forest!" Complains Aritsu
"But this is a tunnel..."

Automata doesn't have to be sapient.
All it needs is a sensor that detects a lifeform in front of it and it stops as a safety measure. Honestly, not having some kind of automatic detection and braking system would be strange.

Risks causing a chain collision with carts coming up behind it. Besides IIRC it would take a train about a mile to hit the brakes anyway, that's why they start decelerating well before arriving at a station. Inertia + thousands of tons of weight.

What I really wanna know is, how did you know Aritsu was right?

>>4947699
>>4947621
>>Dash off in the direction Aritsu suggests

Eldric takes off in the direction the elven princess is pointing at, and soon hears the cart going towards him. He carefully moves to the side and waits for it to approach...

Indeed, it is a large, heavy cargo cart, but even though it feels like a city bus, it is barely loaded at all, as it carries but 8 rails instead of a full cargo.

Eldric latches unto it, and is about to try and stop it by force, when he notices the brakes and kicks them. Well, all it does is slow the cart down slightly, but even that helps...

It still reaches the breach in the rail and its wheels sinks in the gravel, but thankfully it neither flips nor does it causes the rails to fly forth as deadly javelines.

"Ah, big brother, good job!"
"Hn. Good job, Master!" Dawn nods nods

The girls approach to help. Lyann brings out a new pair of boots, pants and socks for us, as our clothes wore off while we slowed down the cart.

Lyann stores the cart in her [Item Box]

"Wait, you can do that!?"
"To be honest, Master, your slave is disassembling the cart and storing it bit by bit. It'll take a bit of work to put it back together, but your slave thought you needed it out of the way...."
"Well, you are right."

So, even Lyann can't actually store the whole cart as such.

Well, we're strong enough to nail down the rails, and make the call to let Stella know the rail system should work properly now.

[Please exit the tunnel and let me know when to start sending cargo.] She replies through the party chat.

Eh... our puppymouto is pretty cold over text, isn't she? Come think about it, she's never sent us a letter before.

Once we are out of the tunnels, we let her know to start sending supplies as needed. She sends the replacement consoles to the EDC and the replacement bolt casters to the defenses, then starts dispatching dozens of carts as needed.

"How do we install these?" Dawn is opening some crates with the replacement consoles and looking at the dozen or so cables coming out of the bases.
"Aren't they labeled or color-coded?" We ask, hopeful
"If they were, I wouldn't have asked." She harrumphs softly

Right, as silly as she is, she is actually pretty smart and quite gifted on technical matters, isn't she?

Uhmm...

The connectors are, sadly, standardized. This means they are all the same so it's not as simple as connecting the matching ones.

1/?
>>
>>4948295

Well, there has to be a simple way to match these. It seems too dumb a mistake to make. At the same time, there's nothing inherently obvious about the connectors.

Collision detection system uses radar to detect obstructions, and starts breaking as soon as it detects an obstruction. Also with a centralized control system, it would detect that there is a stopped car along its path and it would begin braking well before it hits.
It's called Positive Train Control, and it's an automatic braking system for when the train is in danger of colliding, derailing, entering track that's under maintenance, or traveling the wrong way on a track.

>how did you know Aritsu was right
I depended on Aritsu's experience pinpointing animals in the forest, which also has echo and rebounding sound waves.

>>4948297
Now why would we check our inventory? Did we put a manual in there? Or if we put a console into inventory, would it show what each connector does?
>>
A Service Drone sounds like it would be the easiest, so what trap could it be hiding?

Could a Drone identify us as intruders?
No, we're already in the Keep's IFF.

Maybe it would install things wrong?
Doesn't seem likely, since this is an original drone and so would have been programmed to help the original installers.

Maybe it won't be able to install?

>names of the empusas
Aileen, Ayla, Eliora, Helena and Zia

Helena is the one that's the mischievous and likes to flirt with Eldric.
>>
>>4952992
Oh, and I'd like that picture for Helena.
>>
>>4952992
Aileen (Shining Light) - Fair skin and bright golden hair, Aileen looks like a classical fairtytale princess. She's considerably more gifted on the bossom area than her sisters, hers being melons while everyone else's are apples, so to speak, making one think of 'shortstacked'. She looks rather mischievous somehow, and her horns are more on the typical side, being thick and curved like a ram's. You could say she's the typical succubus ethereal beauty, probably.

Ayla (Moonlight) - Pale silver skin and hair, she looks like she was made out of milk all over, except for her eyes, which in typical succubi style, have black eclera and golden irises. Her horns stretch forth for just an inch, then curl upwards almost immediately and grow long and thin. They look rather delicate, too.

Eliora (God's Light) - Her face has the youngest look of the lot, and she looks rather shy, being the only one leaning back into Nadir rather than leaning forth to peek at us. She has bright yet dark blue skin that looks like a cloudless sky in the desert, with hair of a blue so dark it looks like the sky after the sun's just gone down. Her horns poke out towards the sides before turning down and curling inwards. Its the first time we've seen that horn shape in any succubus, actually.

Helena (Shining bright) - In short, she looks like a flower made into a girl. Her skin is the softest white, changing gradually towards bright pink towards the end of her limbs, which makes it look as if she had gloves and boots. Her horns are poking forth and then upwards in a large curve, and they are the same as her limbs, starting the same pale color as her face then growing into bright pink towards the tips. It may be that she has bone horns with skin as cover, rather than hardened hair horns like pretty much every other succubus we've ever met. That is a little worrying, since it means they are -actually- delicate and fragile.

Zia (Light (in arabic)) - Red and gold devines her best. She has bright neon red skin with thin golden lines like those of a zebra flowing down her body. Her horns are simple ram ones, which makes them pretty standard, as far as we know.

We hurry to the combined forces HQ, and walk-in on the commanders and officers as they busy themselves with moving and commanding the troops.

"Sir, we are assigning most of the light boats to tackle the large [ERROR], could you have your pets assist them!?* The captain of the gryphon riders salutes us and immediately asks for our support
"We need those boats in the fight. The young lord's pets can just die to kill it and respawn later!" Counters the liaison with the Alquian Levitating Destroyer. "If they can keep it still for half a minute, we can blow it to shreds!"
"Sir!" A young officer runs in. "The Emerald Heart knights are ready to charge the enemy as soon as it breaches the wall. They are asking that we cease the artillery barrage in the area so they can ride out to meet the enemy in force!"**

>Let the knights charge the thing and trample the invaders

>That's retarded, even if they succeed, we're still left with a hole in the fucking wall!
As stated here, if we let the miniboss breach the wall, we still have a hole in the wall to deal with, and we've no idea how the thing's behavior may change. The Keep's main reactor is still offline, so we don't have the extra energy to be diverting to repair the wall if this happens.

>Alright, send the light boats to pin it down!
While it's true that the Pets can respawn later, it's still a 24-hour timer.
And the Levitating Destroyer's artillery should be concentrating on finding other minibosses and destroying them, as well as thinning out the small fry.
The small fry are mostly going to be used to level up their Commanders and those Cthulhoid champion units we saw the enemy preparing. We need to make sure that they do not level up.

I don't see a reason for them to wait until there's a HOLE IN THE WALL!" - we facepalm. Funny, we hadn't facepalmed in this world yet, and we had seen quite a few silly things.

Lyann hugs us from behind gently.

"Where's the [I]Crusader[/I]?* Why hasn't it deployed the roaming orders yet?" She asks the captain
"It is holding the west wall with a mix of battery barrages and knight charges on the surviving [ERROR]s." - the captain reports immediately
"What, on its own?"
"The attack is mainly focused on the south wall. There's no more enemy forces on the north wall, and they can't approach from the sea so the Crusader is keeping them off the west wall."

>Alright, that sounds like a good idea. If we can keep them focused in one area, we can just keep bombarding them all together.
>Well, tell it to reposition northwest to cover the northern walls as well. That should encourage the [ERROR]s to attack the west wall and relief some pressure from the southern walls.

Spelth-Gagaron needs a scene, because she had been hoarding the metal needed to feed a dragon baby when we captured her.

I also feel like Kya should get another lewd scene with Eldric. Maybe with Eldric working in one of his offices, while Kya is lewd with him. Lyann is waiting at attention as a toy, and then Dawn comes in with tea. And Eldric takes a break and has his way with all three of them.

Or maybe a scene with the Succubus Matron, Eldric, and Lyann that was talked about, and the Matron showing off some of the special traits of a Lilith that Lyann may be able to get in the future (I don't think we've gotten those yet, just up to Hecate from what Sykia has).

Alright so we're going to the EDC, I assume?

***

We introduce the technicians to our pets, and they seem fairly impressed by Krabby. From what we overhear, they seem able to see stats just like we can, and while they think positively of our pets stats, its not as if their minds are blown or anything like that. They are however impressed with Krabby's race, as apparently [Homarid] was an already incredibly rare race to see 10,000 years ago.

"We'll be in your care." Their leader greets Krabby with a closed fist.

Eh? Is it a fistbump? Was that how you greeted someone in the past? No, he tapped Krabby in the shoulder, so I guess its slightly different.

Well, the technicians leave towards the CCC, so we're off to the EDC now.

I went back and checked, and we have 3 Pets guarding Stella: Tien, Atiena and Chiku
Krabby is guarding the Safety Team.
>>
>>4964583
Oh, I thought we sent Krabby AND Tien, Atiena and Chiku with the team
>>
>>4964645
No, we sent Krabby and Construct A, Construct B, and Construct C with the Safety Team.
The Constructs are the Heven Automatons that look like succubi, that we powerleveled when we were first trying out the [EXP Chain] item.
I assumed that they are high enough level to be a good speed bump against anything that goes after the Safety Team.
The only problem was that they still need to be made to interact with people more so that they can Rank Up.
>>
>>4964711
Oh in that case the saboteur would go after the technicians since they're the less defended ones, so let's ignore >>4964566 and I'll rewrite the post.

Is a Beast Tamer able to have a Pet come out of the Menagerie next to an already deployed Pet?
Since we know something has gone wrong with the Safety Team, we do have some Pets that we didn't yet deploy in reserve.
While they're unlikely to be of much use against someone able to take out one of our Constructs, suddenly having 2 Gryphons, 3 Jungle Faeries, Majin, Vampire, and White Mantis appear should give flanking bonuses to Krabby.
>>
>>4964747
>Is a Beast Tamer able to have a Pet come out of the Menagerie next to an already deployed Pet?
Sure, as long as you can see where that is. Party range is pretty much infinite, remember?

I understand you want to spam pets, but you need line of sight (LOS) to where you want to summon.

We get another two [Pet Returned] messages, and arrive at the scene to see our family's butler attacking Krabby...

>Summon 2 more pets (our class skills lets us summon 2 per turn instead of 1 per turn)
>Charge
>Cast spells
>Other
>>
>>4964790
>Summon 2 more pets (our class skills lets us summon 2 per turn instead of 1 per turn)
Is there enough room to call out Squidward the Kraken?
If yes, Squidward and Gryphon C (a Mountain Gryphon).
If no, then Gryphon C and Great White Mantis A.
They are to provide flanking bonuses to Krabby.

Next turn we can try to charge Tapac while the others try to debuff Tapac. That could be hard, since he likely has a lot of magic resistances and status ailment immunities.
>>
I also feel that we should tell the Keep to rescind all of Tapac's access rights and designate him as an intruder, and turn all of the internal security against him, but I don't know if we have the time to say that before Krabby goes down.
>>
>>4964790
Wait, before we summon 2 more Pets, can we see if Krabby is under some kind of [Confuse] or [Chaos] mind effect?

Considering that Eldric has only known of Tapac as a retired demigod, and he wasn't warned against Tapac by the Goddess, there is bound to be confusion to see his family's loyal majordomo attacking his Pet.
>>
>>4964886
On the other hand, I've been railing against how the Keep's defenses were allowed to degrade, and the all-important knowledge that [Plant] type Pets are highly effective against [ERROR]s was allowed to be lost, and all of this was due to Grandfather and Tapac.
Grandfather is a meathead, so that's to be expected.
But Tapac should have known better.

Well, maybe he DID know better. And he intentionally worked to make everything fall apart because he was the saboteur all along.

Though, if that was the case, then why, in the 10,000 years he was undermining the Keep and the Lightbringer Family, didn't he get rid of the bodies of the dead technicians and other personnel even though he had full run of the Keep?

Is he the saboteur, but most of the sabotage was due as much to incompetence as intentional sabotage?
Or is he not the saboteur, and he's just an incompetent old man?
>>
Not finding the dead technicians in the ECC is partially on us, too. We had lots of time to explore the Keep and come across them, but we apparently never did.
But at least we have the excuse of attending school in a different country and actively gathering together other resources, instead of having had decades to actually explore the Keep and try to get its systems back online.

>Or is he not the saboteur, and he's just an incompetent old man?

He's the saboteur, but sabotage of the keep was secondary at best. The main thing was building the 'forcefield projector' and convincing the family that it was the best way to go about it, when in reality it just kills everyone then harvests their souls and sends them into the {ERROR]s dimension, which is basically doing their work for them instantly.

>>4964901
>the excuse of attending school in a different country
Which is also why he never got to 'guide us' into using the forcefield projector.

Unrelated, what do you think of this pic for a modern Lyann? for the ending and epilogue, I have many, many different ideas depending on how we do, from the classical 'happiky ever after' to us all dying and reincarnation, then finding each other again, in the future, or if we really fuck up, becoming trapped in a pocket dimension and other stuff.

***

"Wait, what...?" Zoe pauses, our kittymouto obviously confused about the family's butler attacking Krabby and the technicians.

We summon a gryphon and a mantis, whom immediately attack Tapac, and ease some of the pressure on Krabby by giving him flanking bonuses.

Well, we didn't level them up much so they're likely to get 'killed' as soon as it is his turn, though.

Lyann seems us summon pets to attack the man, and immediately chants [RE-Raise] and [Haste] on our party. Well, she would instantly get on our side even if we were attacking dad for whatever reason.

The butler? She literally doesn't care.

Dawn sends a ninth sphere [Tera Ice], a massive near-zero ice pillar trapping the dandy butler and compressing into exploding against him.

Aritsu goes with a [Tera Wind], creating a powerful whirlwind around the butler that cuts at him with thousands of wind blades before fading away.

"What!? What happened to dramatic speeches, young master!?" The butler doesn't actually seem particularly affected as we attack him.

He turns around and uses a single [Chained][Tera Star], the massive spell surrounding the area in the illusion of hundreds of meteorites, dealing high damage of [Neutral] type.

Krabby's [Bulwark] passive skill triggers, and he flickers around at high speed so he can tank each impact as they'd hit us.

Well, his HP went down into the 15% after that, though.

Going into melee is going to hurt; Tapac is a very high level Dreadnought.
But I think we were told that he has more than one Job active, and he would have the Ginaz Swordmaster Job as his secondary, meaning that magic attacks would not be very effective, as he passively gets a bonus to his MDV every time a spell is cast by us.
And even if it's only the Dreadnought Job that's active, the Passive reduces the damage from ranged attacks by 1/2, meaning we have to go into melee anyway.

***

We swing and Tapac parries our blow, then counterattacks and deals 2% of our hp. Honestly, when the blow looked like it was going to slash our eyes out, it got quite worrisome for a bit.

It had been a while since we'd taken a hit, and our subconscious forgot the game-like system this world (thankfully) run on.

He did apply 3 different debuffs on us, though, so perhaps damage wasn't the point in the first place.

[Poison] [Slow] [Undeath] (<- heal effects deal damage instead of healing.)

Poison will deal 10% of our max hp at the end of each of our turns, so it'll do a hell of a lot more damage than most attacks would, considering our attack pool... honestly, the [Auto Heal] effect we have always on is more worrying since it'll 'heal' 10% of our max hp at the beginning of our next turn, and with the [Undeath] effect, that will hurt and stack pretty quickly with [Poison].

>"Lyann, use your [Cleanse] to purge all my buffs and debuffs!"

>Other
>>
>>4968329
Wait, we have [Re-Raise] on us, right?
Could you remind us of how that works, exactly?
By that, I mean:
1. When we die, do we Raise automatically, with all debuffs removed?
2. Does the Raise happen on the same Turn that we die, and can we act for the rest of the Turn?
3. Do we come back with Full Health, or only a small amount of HP?

And if we use [Cleanse], that will remove all buffs as well, which means it would remove our [Haste] that is counteracting the [Slow], and it would remove our [Re-Raise].
Isn't there a spell to only remove debuffs? Something like [Antidote] to only remove Poison, or something that would only remove the [Undeath] debuff?

Also, Kya is a [Raptor: Custos], so she should be able to Stun Tapac as long as she can get a hit in.
And I was checking, but I didn't see what Drone we turned Carmilla into.
Do you know which one we chose for her?
>>
>>4968364
>Do you know which one we chose for her?
Cute. No, seriously, I don't think we gave her a type

Re-Raise is instant, yes. When we die we lose all buffs and debuffs

We have the brooch grandpa gave us waaaaaaaaay back keeping re-raise on us at all times so if we get a cleanse to wipe everything off, it'll re-apply instantly anyway.

We come back with 20% hp.

Yes, there's specific counters to every specific debuff. Want to tell Lyann to get rid of a specific one? Actually, Dawn could cleanse 2 per turn since they use items and maid job can use 2 items per turn, OR give an extra turn to someone so she could give an extra turn to lyann so lyann can get rid of 2 debuffs. OR use an item AND grant a turn.

Basically, Maid can always use an item as a free action. Its a pretty important support job, if expensive since they don't cast, they use items.

No comment on the >>2600272 thing? Like I said, I think Stella would enjoy either side of the activity since she just enjoys physical activity in general.

Yes, remember that Lyann has the [Bard] job which allows her to cast an almost literal rain of buffs or debuffs if she uses her attack action for it, so yeah, she can purge everything off Eldric, then have Dawn give her another turn and have her re-cast all buffs on him.

As long as the [Re-Raise] gets re-applied automatically, we should be able to power through the fight. We might even have Aritsu switch to applying buffs and removing debuffs, since Tapac's MDV seems high enough to make magic attacks have little effect.

That reminds me, don't we have a Job that can also let us apply status effects on-hit? Maybe we should do the same to Tapac.

>That reminds me, don't we have a Job that can also let us apply status effects on-hit? Maybe we should do the same to Tapac.

Not that I remember? Tapac's on-hit debuffs are from his sword. Our... actually our sword and most of our gear are still geared for exp grinding. Maybe we should get something made for, you know, final boss fights.

Heck, Lyann has been stacking mana on mana crystals for 5 years now at x84 the regular rate with multiple copies so she could probably use one of those crystals to lit up a star by now.

Im just saying maybe we should switch from farming to killing.

Indeed, our lovely slave dances all of our [Buff] and [Debuff] effects away as soon as she can. Well, of course she looks lovely, but we can't very well stop and properly appreciate her beauty right now.

We can tell Tapac is 90% resistant to fire, 50% resistant to Earth/Water/Wood and only 10% resistant to Metal.

Sadly, the only ones that can use Metal magic are Mako and Ren, so we need to go with one of the others. Earth, Water, or Wood. By the way, wind fits inside fire by the 'classical' way elements are classified.

Well, we can't do 'metal' as such, but we can do 'earth', and that counts as metal now.

Eh... I wonder if the goddess was thinking ahead, or just lucked out when doing this change.

We swing with an elemental Earth strike through Tapac's defense, and blow away 15% of his hp.

Honestly, when HP bars get this large, it is a lot more effective to just see them in %s anyway.

On his turn, he moves away and casts [Tera Star] again, once again bathing everyone in 'neutral' damage.

Wait, how come we can learn [Sage] now? Is it because we saw him using it? Uh, still can use only one passive at the time. Alright that's not THAT bad then, still... we never even heard of [Sage].

I just noticed that Earth and Metal are meant to be separated, so I looked into it and the difference is that metal means 'anything that has gone through crafting' so ore that was melted and worked into something else, basically.

I guess we could just hit him with some allow... oh boy is it time for our former life's title in chemical engineering to actually shine in this lifetime!?
>>
>>4969254
Krabby's HP is at 5%? Isn't he being healed by Aritsu and Zoe?
And didn't Kya attack and use her ability to Stun Tapac?

>Metal
Can we use our [Crafting] to create a steel alloy sword that will have the [Metal] property?
>>
>>4969374
>Krabby's HP is at 5%? Isn't he being healed by Aritsu and Zoe?
Yes. That's why its still at 5%. It was at about 40% when we showed up, then it went down to 15%, then Aritsu and Zoe healed him so it went up to about 35%, and now it went down to 5%. Otherwise, he'd be dead.

>>4969374
>And didn't Kya attack and use her ability to Stun Tapac?
Now -that- i genuinely forgot about, roll 1d100 twice... wait if we roll 2d100, do we get 2 different results or just the total?

>>4969374
>Can we use our [Crafting] to create a steel alloy sword that will have the [Metal] property?
We can craft any items we have crafted before. We can therefore craft chess sets and soap. I don't remember us learning to craft anything else... well, no, we also made some lamps, and books.
>>
Rolled 1, 94 = 95 (2d100)

>>4969415
Here's 2d100

>well, no, we also made some lamps
Would lamps be worked metal?
Odd that our sword isn't considered worked metal; is that because it [Dropped] like that?

So if we [Craft] a lamp, could we use it as a weapon to attack Tapac and take advantage of his low Metal Resistance, or would that not work because a lamp is not considered a weapon by the System?
Unless we have a special Skill that makes anything we hold in our hand be considered a weapon?
>>
>>4969430
>Would lamps be worked metal?
...sounds legit

>Odd that our sword isn't considered worked metal; is that because it [Dropped] like that?
>Wait, are we using the family sword? Because that one DOES count as worked metal. Also, IIRC its not optimized for farming, its made and customized to apply debuffs... oh we did have a weapon that does that, after all.

>So if we [Craft] a lamp, could we use it as a weapon to attack Tapac and take advantage of his low Metal Resistance, or would that not work because a lamp is not considered a weapon by the System?
Pfft its based on Disgaea and I've used bottles as axes in that game. Also, an F-14 Tomcat airplane at the end of a stick as a sword. Its called the "Top Sword" IIRC.

Well, I'm assuming we switched to our family sword then.

Tapac has too much MDV for the stun to go in now.
>>
>>4969456
>Tapac has too much MDV for the stun to go in now.
Well if we roll a 100 I guess it'd be equivalent to a critical hit so it'd go in anyway.
>>
>>4969254
>Switch to our Family Sword so that the [Metal] gets through Tapac’s Resistance
Since magic is no good against Tapac, then our casters should concentrate on healing and buffing Krabby and us. And make sure that [Re-Raise] is on Krabby; his [Bulwark] is the only thing keeping everyone else alive.

You know what I remembered that we forgot during my lond-ass hospital stay? If the enemy uses a ranged attack vs us in melee, we get to strike back, so roll 2d100 for the two ranged attacks Tapac used.

Also, I'll type more tomorrow. Sorry guys but my schedule is a mess

"Everyone heals Krabby!" We order while charging at Tapac

We manage to swing and hit, slashing down at him, hp bar pinging down to 75%, before going back to 85% at the beginning of his turn.

Well, he has [Regen] on...

Wait, he probably has an item supporting his [Regen] just like how we have one casring [Self Raise] on us, which means it'll go back up even if Lyann takes it down.

>Lyann, cleanse his buffs again!
>Lyann, throw poison at him until it sticks!
>>
>>4975066
Have we ever seen a Job or Item that triggers on a Debuff or a Buff being removed?
I don't think we have, but then again, there's been a huge amount of dungeon-diving that was timeskipped.

I was just reminded of certain bosses in MMO's that do some kind of special, unblockable attack, if a Damage-over-Time debuff gets removed, or a [Regen]-type buff of theirs gets removed. Thus players are forced to suffer through it, or face an even bigger hit.

Also, does MDV affect whether healing type spells like [Cleanse] are able to work on the target?

[Cleanse] may get rid of the [Regen] but if it's from an item, then it'll just come back up even if we remove it.
...wait, Item.

Can't Lyann [Steal] the item in question? This is a game, after all. And Lyann had been speccing to be able to steal items from Bosses.

>...wait, Item.
Yuu~up, nice catch, because yes, he has an item that gives regen, just like we have an item that gives us self raise, and when lyann used cleanse (which btw is one of 2 exceptions that can't be resisted) on us, our brooch gave us back self raise right away.

So yes, if lyann throws cleanse at him, he'll get the regeneration back, but if she succeeds at stealing it, that will stop it.

It's been a while since we stole something, so remember we need to use our ring to identify items on the boss, which in this case are.

Armor
Bulletproof Vest / Halves ranged attack damage. Where the fuck did he found -that-?

Accessories
Chakra Belt / +500.000 HP, -5.000 MDV
Falcon Shoes / +1 Move Speed & +3 Jump
Foresight Glasses / +1000 Intelligence & Regeneration

Weapon
Mysterious Sword / Wait, really? That's all the info we're gonna get?

Well,
>>
>>4975121
Gah, I really want to take away his Mysterious Sword, but the Foresight Glasses still have to be the priority.

Wait...Lyann can [Steal] twice if Dawn uses her Maid skill to give her an Extra Turn.

So we CAN steal both the glasses and the sword.

So let's do that.
Lyann tries to [Steal] the Foresight Glasses first, then the Mysterious Sword second, with Dawn giving Lyann an Extra Turn with her Maid Skill.

I wonder what Kya can do. Tapac's MDV is going to be massively high, so only a crit will be able to [Stun] him now. I wonder if there's anything else she could do as a Drone.

Or, if Lyann steals Tapac's Chakra Belt, that's an immediate -500,000 HP. I wonder if that would be enough to instantly kill him with the amount of damage we did to him already. Can Eldric, with his high INT, calculate if that would work?
>>
>>4975150
>as a Drone

I was thinking about that. Do you think drones should use the intelligence (magic attack) of themselves or of their master?
>>
>>4975208
I think they should use their own INT.
That way they can be better customized.
>>
>>4975150
>Or, if Lyann steals Tapac's Chakra Belt, that's an immediate -500,000 HP. I wonder if that would be enough to instantly kill him with the amount of damage we did to him already. Can Eldric, with his high INT, calculate if that would work?

Well it wouldn't kill him but he'd go down to 12% right away
>>
>>4975318
wait, i was thinking of something else when i typed that. Its not just damage, its total hp reduction so it would go down to 48% because the total hp pool would be much smaller. It would be 12% if we did 500.000 damage but that's not what is going on.
>>
>>4975322
Hmm...but [Regen] is based on a percentage of total HP, so the amount of damage we do would be the same, but the amount that he could [Regen] would be reduced.

Well, it's definitely something that would be good to take away, since he may have some items that could heal a percentage of his total HP. But the Foresight Glasses and Mysterious Sword would still be the immediate things to [Steal].
>>
>>4975819
So you guys wanna steal the glasses and the sword?
>>
>>4976291
Yes. I'm afraid that the Mysterious Sword might be [Cursed] somehow, such as having a conduit to the Discarded or something, but I doubt it since something like that should come up with an [ERROR] itself.

We should definitely ask the Goddess about the Mysterious Sword, and why we weren't warned that Tapac was a traitor, when we meet her on our birthday.
>>
I wonder if Euphy knew about Tapac's betrayal.
I don't think her or her family could be easily trusted by the Lightbringer Family again. Obviously we've seen that depending on stats isn't enough to know whether someone can be trusted to not cause problems.

I'm not angry at her, just disappointed.
I AM angry at myself/Eldric for assuming that since Tapac had been vetted by generations of Lightbringers and by Grandpa, that he could be trusted.
That even after identifying how Grandpa and those previous Lightbringer generations had failed so badly in preparing the Keep for the Invasion, that I had let myself assume that it was nothing but incompetence, rather than malicious action.

>>4976373
>Rolled 25, 77 = 102 (2d100)

Our beautiful slave moves behind Tapac and quickly reaches out, using the [System]'s function to try and [Steal] Tapac's glasses. The [System] rolls for it and... she fails.

"Did you seriously thought that was going to-?" Tapac starts talking when Dawn uses her job's [Tea Time] ability to have Lyann go again...

This time she does successfully [Steal], this time grabbing the sword out of Tapac's hand and directly unto her inventory.

The old butler drops like a rock. No dramatic scream or declaration, not even a little whimper, he just drops.

>Well, okay? Let's stab him now repeatedly
>Other?
>>
>>4976397
>Other: Look at Tapac with our Ring of Identify to check his status (see if he's dead or what's going on), and order Lyann to [Discard] the Mysterious Sword in case it starts to affect her even through the Inventory. And look at the Mysterious Sword through the Ring again; maybe we can see what it is now.

I think we should immediately order Lyann to [Discard] that Mysterious Sword. We need something, maybe a Construct (that is Immune to Mind-Affecting Status Effects) to pick it up and keep it someplace secure so that we can examine it later, preferably by having the Goddess take care of it.
We didn't see Tapac with the Mysterious Sword equipped before, so it might be able to corrupt even through the [Inventory].
>>
>>4976397
>>4976422
I don't think it has to be said, but just in case, don't let anyone touch the Mysterious Sword.

It could just be a red herring, I suppose, but it's obviously got some kind of hidden abilities if removing it causes the previous wielder to just collapse like that.
>>
>>4976422
>>4976425
Or, hmm...maybe it would be safer in the [Inventory]? Since Inventory is an other-dimensional pocket space-time, maybe it can keep contained whatever links the Mysterious Sword uses.

Hey King, when we checked Tapac's character sheet all those years ago, and learned about the [Dreadnought] Job, did we see what he was equipped with? Did we see the Mysterious Sword at that time?
We may not remember, but Eldric with his high INT would remember if it was there or not.

And that could give us an indication of it the Mysterious Sword can affect through [Inventory] or if the sword has to be [Equipped]. Assuming that it can't affect anyone just by being outside of a pocket space, or that Tapac had the Mysterious Sword all of these centuries.

>>
>>4976857
Oh man, this is a nerve-wracking decision. We don’t know how the Sword works, and discarding it could make the situation worse.

Does [Discard] just cause an item to pop out of the [Item Box] on the ground near a person?
Wait, if the sword is in Lyann’s [Item Box], how could we see it?

Maybe trying to inspect the Mysterious Sword is what triggers the possession effect?
>>
>>4976943
it destroys the item, and we can't really see it while it is in her item box.
>>
>>4977849
Can we transfer items straight from one [Item Box] to another [Item Box]?
It might be safer to destroy the Mysterious Sword, but then again, it be keeping an [ERROR] contained and destroying it in the wrong way could free it.
>>
>>4977849
Hey King, when we checked Tapac with the Ring just now, what was his Race, Class, and active Jobs?

I wonder if the Mysterious Sword gives the Sage Job when it possesses a person.
>>
Should we destroy the Mysterious Sword?
We need to examine it more in-depth, but it may be safer to have Lyann [Discord] it right now.

We could have one of our Pets hold on to the Mysterious Sword; by virtue of being our Pet, even if the Mysterious Sword tries to possess the Pet, it won't be able to: a Pet is always loyal to their Master, and a Pet cannot equip a Sword.

Sounds good. I'll be honest, I was gonna have the sword possess Lyann if she drew it, and force Eldric to killswitch her with her collar, then kick the sword away and have Zoe raise Lyann and then have her tell us about the sword.

Well, rather than having to kill her, the collar would kill her when she tried to attack us.

Anyway, what do you wanna do with the unconscious butler?

"That was ... that's mister Tapac, is he not?" - The technicians seem to have a hard time believing what just happened.
"It seems so." We say after storing away the ring. "Any ideas...? No, actually, we still have a job to do, so take your team and keep doing your job as well."

>Kill Tapac, preserve the body, store it in our inventory and raise him when this is all over.

>>
>>4978103
>Other: We must be careful. Have Lyann [Steal] the rest of Tapac's items. Have him kept Debuffed, and we need someone to get a [Slave Collar] and put it on him.
The concern I have with killing Tapac, is that he's not just another person. He's a demi-god, and we have no idea what hidden things there are in the [System] concerning that Race.

But we can't just accept him back either; he's been working against the Lightbringers for 10,000 years. We must keep him contained.
It might even be prudent to have Euphy arrested as well.

Oh, and of course, have Krabby healed up to full.
As for the Pet that will take hold of the Mysterious Sword, why not Giant Gryphon A? He can grab the sword in his beak, he's one of the least levelled of our Pets, and aside from [Flight], he doesn't have any special abilities that would let the Mysterious Sword get away.
Or, we can have Radiant do it, since as a Mount, she has even more restrictions that would make her safer to hold on to the Mysterious Sword.
