Previous threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=The%202nd%20Primarch%20Quest-You are Lieren, Grand Architect of Long-Jia, Head of the ministry of Development, Grand Master of the Wanderers in the Fog Sect, Beloved of Kanzeon, Enemy of tyrants and the wicked, Creator of the Journey and the Brother of Magnus of Prospero and one of the twenty sons of the emperor, A primarch. Having battled against Kamal Kanon, and subjecting your body to a training regime that would have killed any other man, you returned to your friends and loved ones to return to the duties of your office and your responsibility to the people of the kingdom. However, you began studying the Wuxing, the cycles of the five elements in an effort to find a means of gaining an upper hand against the more experienced Kamal Kanon to counter act the desperate measures he had taken to survive your confrontation with the dark lord of the Shuni. In these studies you focused upon a traditional form of fortune telling, one that, along with the Wuxing, you had believed to be little more than wild superstition. This method of divination, named Zi wei dou shu or purple star astrology, revealed knowledge most unsettling and led to you discovering a previously unknown fifth lord of hell! And despite taking every precaution, in your efforts to learn event he name of this mysterious being, brought calamity to you. Being torn from the arena you had prepared and warded with Null Denouncement Charms, you were dragged to a pit of hell where all things failed and forgotten were interred. It was here, you met an imprisoned incarnation of order and refused to give into Despair. It is also here, were you have been forced into battle against a warrior older than Kanzeon herself. The first Damned, a spirit named Be'lakor, a opponent that surpasses you in martial skill.Fighting a desperate battle in the grave of memories and nightmares, you hatched a plan to turn the tide against your seemingly indomitable enemy.-Be'lakor charged, his face a mask of the boundless rage smoldering in his veins, his eyes blazing with his murderous intent. His blade forged of darkness was leveled at your breast, his wrist stiffened as his arms outstretched to thrust the sword which could freely pass through and cut any material directly towards your twin hearts. The Golden fires of your soul raged around the both of you, as Be'lakor endured their scorching touch as if in his focus he could no longer perceive the agony of being lit aflame. Meet his gaze, you locked your eyes with his and drew upon every ounce of your resolve to draw the flames that danced around the both of you around the most wicked among devils. The flames condensed forging themselves into bars of solid, radiant light. Bars, when made of the proper materials, could hold a god. You had beheld such a cage when you met Isha and her captor the most abhorrent Na Gou! Cont
>>4957715It was reasonable to assume that only the stuff of souls could contain that which is only spiritual in nature! And the blazing light of your will would keep his viper blade from shifting into shadow. The prison begins to form, shrinking around the ancient devil, and cutting into his cobalt hued hide. Like so many blades, the bars of the burning cage cut past his skin and into his flesh, searing what was once raw and red, seared and grey. Be'lakor spat, snarling in pain as he struggled onward, even as the cage began to slam shut and the bars burrowed deeper into his body. Sizzling fat rises against the bars of condensed and refined fire, as the muscle and sinew beneath cooked and then burned. The devil did not avert his gaze of blink, a pink froth rose against his yellowed fangs as he glared fury back at your contemptuous gaze. But he did not speak, even as you could hear the cracking of his bones and tearing of his roasting flesh. Willing the bars of his prison of life to close completely, an action that will result in the rending or complete pulping of the spirit's flesh, you grin. And begin to gloat as he struggles nearer to you, ignoring the shrinking bars and the wounds they inflict upon his form, and the doom that hastily approaches him. Laughing at his foolishness, the impotence of his struggles, you sneeringly explain the beast's folly. His rage grows to a blistering intensity you've never beheld in another being's heart before, be they mortal or not. Confident in your victory, you proclaim his defeat and outstretch your Guandao. "Oh you first chosen do you not see that even now you do their will, trying to bring low one that would see them undone" You say, condemning his very existence between chuckles and sneers of laughter "Oh you think you are free or so serving the Dark". Be'lakor's eyes blacken, the smoke rising from his charred flesh turns black and his last step shudders to a stop as he freezes, back bowed, and gaze downcast. "You were a pawn whom rose above your station but hiding under the table you are still a piece in their game" You mock, positioning it to thrust it through his neck for a clean kill before the cage reduces his flesh and bones to a slurry of boiled gore.He remains motionless."Know here I declare it from my soul and know I bare no lie, I am Lieren and I am your Doom and Salvation from the Dark!" You roar and thenthere's a queer snapping sound. Not like metal being bent until it could not longer withstand the stress and pressure. Not like a branch being broken of the knee. Or like a glass pane being thrown to the ground. Its melodic, yet piercing. Your realize soon what was broken.Be'lakor stopped to resist the bars of the cage. And against them, his flesh won out. Marked and scarred by an interact patchwork of wheeping wounds and burnt flesh, he stands before you, the lines rearranging in the shape of the Journey's Lotus as if to mock you.cont
>>4957716In the breaking of his bonds, You can hear Chun Qiang's howling laughter. The lord of anarchy mocks you, as you mocked Be'lakor. You clench your jar, realize you allowed your contempt to trick your pride into announcing victory before the final blow has been dealt and see.You see the fool was you! Kanzeon's concern washes over your mind as you curse yourself and try to land the final blow but.In his rage, fueled by pain and his battered ego, Be'lakor out paces you with ease. The head of your Guandao flies from its haft as he flicks his viper blade through the shards of his cage, between the light. You cannot help but to admire the mastery behind the movement. You doubt you could maneuver a blade with such finesse. The weapon can repair itself, but at the moment you are left holding what for all intents and purposes is an overly decorated Bo staff. For the devil cut it flat, rather than giving you a spear with which to fight!Snarling, his words lost to him beneath the storm of his rage Be'lakor stand above you, bleed oozing down his chest as smoke rose from his burnt flesh. The crack along his horn had crawled further and deeper, branching like the roots of a great tree"You are Nothing, but an impudent child who imagines himself skilled because those he's faced before fled before him in terror, or sought his servitude over his death" Be'lakor hissed, swinging his blade as you barely manage to regain the necessary clarity of mind to perform the carp's dance and avoid it's edge by a hair "I have no such handicap. It may please the gods, but I'll butcher you for my own amusement, FOOL!"Swaying, and turning on your heels, you cannot avoid all of Be'lakor's strikes, as he cuts the armor Kanzeon gifted you, piece by piece, even as it begins to repair itself. He's toying with you, but his blade cuts through your flesh, mimicking the wounds of inflicted by your cage.Red feathers began to fall serenely upon the still air! What is your eight move, Lieren?>"FUCK YOU!" harness your black rage and trade blows with the devil>Laugh at your own foolishness, and unafraid of death, rush forward and attempt to pin his blade arm>Calm your thoughts, reflect on your mistake, and throw your legs to trip Be'lakor>Throw the haft of your broken Guandao at him, and retreat to find a weapon in the tomb>Write in

>>4957747I think that it's about time that Lieren embraced and channeled that aspect of himself (It's even one of the tenet of The Journey). His anger has always been seething within him, just beyond the sight of most everyone else. I also feel as though, an artefact brought, back to the Material Realm from here, would be devastating at best.Or it might go the other way, Malal might gift us with a real daemon slayer weapon, who knows. I just dont trust anything we find here, our anger is something that been with us from the beginning, we have some level of understanding of it.
>>4957743>I do not trust any weapon that come out of this place.I tire of you paranoid MFers who insist on ignoring Malal's constant reminders that he isn't going to Laer Blade us.
Deja vu, I've seen this before somewhere. Anyways, I suggest using our pole for a vaulting maneuver.

>>4957718This whole fight has felt less like a duel and more like a distraction. Another one of Chun Qiang's tricks for his own spiteful amusement!> BREAK THE CAGE! RELEASE THE LIGHT! RESTORE HOPE!

>>4957718>Calm your thoughts, reflect on your mistake, and throw your legs to trip Be'lakorGiving in to anger is hardly ever a good thing - even if you're the Hulk. But calming ourselves down has always served us well.>Throw the haft of your broken Guandao at him, and retreat to find a weapon in the tombThere is a huge chance this could backfire on us, but if there's even the slightest chance we could roll out of this with the RJB, or some kind of demon-slaying weapon, I'd have to take it just for the cool points. But I still fear with every choice we take that makes us more Warp-aware, what the hell the Emperor's reaction will be. Sans Magnus, this is well outside what he wanted for the Primarchs - and even Magnus was kept in the dark about the worse aspects of the Warp.

You endure the assault, and the pain it brings. The scent of blood fills the air, but you refuse its invigorating allure. Rage may be able to be refined into a weapon when it is focused, but it can also become an insurmountable handicap. Be'lakor has been attempting to employ the same tactics you utilized against his weaker kin. Enraging you to the point of madness, so your movements before sloppy and your mind becomes clouded with bloodlust and fury. While he himself has been consumed by his rage, it seems as though it is his natural state of being, to some extent. It doesn't hamper his planning now upset the rhythm of his strikes. Serenity in the chaos of his wrathful mind. His is an existence wholly consumed by spite and contempt. You are unlike him, your rage though powerful remains caged and controlled. Even when it proves useful, you tightly grip its leash. Though it wells up in your heart, fueled by same and hatred directed towards your own foolishness, you calm yourself and immerse yourself in the serenity of nothingness. Drops of blood spray against your face, as you focus on the carp style's graceful movements, even a slight miscalculation of your next step could prove crippling or even fatal. The trained elegance of the technique, reflects the natural fluidity of a carp swimming in a pond. Twisting, turning, swaying, leaping. It's title is well earned, for every dodge appears to be a fragment of a precisely choregraphed dance. But every step and adjustment of the legs and body is efficient, and wastes little to no energy in its movements. Reflecting upon the martial style you're forced to commit all of your efforts into using, brings your thoughts back again to your failure.Like a slick of mud besides an otherwise pristine river, clouding its waters. Pride and over confidence. Self assured idiocy. You assumed your trap unbreakable. The force of your will peerless beneath and even within the heavens. Hubris. A deadly poison. One you had thought excised, but upon reflection you realize. Are you not proud of your martial capabilities? Mocking your opponents, infuriating them and though they deserve no respect and the tactic has proven most effective, such mockery is still a symptom of a prideful heart. It was only now that it became an illness, if even for a moment. Self reflection is a tenant of your journey, which teaches to consider what one considers their virtue to ensure it does not decay into will full ignorance and self righteousness. You had allowed your trusted technique to become tainted with pride. It must not happen again. Mockery, while effective, should only be spoken when one's opponent is already overcome or is otherwise unable to interrupt the insult.Be'lakor, in your blind certainty of your cunning, had overcome what you thought to be a killing blow. And you've suffered for it. This is a lesson that must be kept close to your heart. The lesson? Cont
>>4958827To not allow yourself to mistake mocking, insults and disparaging remarks as fact. To keep your thoughts from being clouded by the glee of victory preemptively. And the dangers of overconfidence in your own wit and ability. Sighing, you open your eyes and lick a trickle of blood away from your lips. Now serene of mind, you understand. Be'lakor's insults had found root in the soil of your mind. Otherwise you would not have thought to humiliate him, and subject him to the branding of the cage. Your rage it would seem, had learned how to hide its presence as you yourself are able. It is almost amusing, why pondering it almost makes you want to laugh at yourself. Guarding a blow with the middle length of your "Staff", you allow Be'lakor to split it into two equal but smaller lengths."So that's your plan" Kanzeon whispers, her voice rattled with worry and fear. You just smile in response, as you reinforce the wrist guards and vambraces of your armor. Charging under Be'lakor's swing, you catch his wrists with both of the shortened poles, and twist your arms to upset his posture, and this his balance. He raises a leg to kick you away, his wrist turning as his blade shifts. There's only a moment to act, failure will be catastrophic. Throwing your legs out, you use your enemy's own strength and sturdiness as an anchor, lifting yourself from the ground by his arms. Sweeping both of your feet towards his legs, you slide the broken staff pieces away from his wrists to direct the momentum of your fall against him.Pushed by his own weight, he tumbles. But grabs the crook of your back, digging his claws through your armor. And so you to, fall to the ground, slammed against your back. Both of you scramble to your feet, disoriented. He rests against his blade of shadows, eyes narrowed with murderous wrath, you reconnect your split staff, and twirl it to your side before driving it through the ground. Then, reality shatters. A red feather drops to the floor and the tomb's foundations shake. NO! BEGONE, INTERLOPER! The lord of anarchy's childish whining carries through the air as, like clear water, the air shimmers and flashes between all the hues of a rainbow, and a smattering of colors that do not exist in the mortal plane. Through the waves of energy, a red hand emerges, and a familiar presence settles at the back of your mind."BROTHER!" You shout as Be'lakor snarls. What do you do, Lieren?>Grab Magnus' hand, and accept his offered aid, fighting against the will of anarchy>Force your brother away, you'll not endanger him so terribly!>Use the distraction to repair your Guandao>Use the distraction to tackle Be'lakor, throwing the both of you nearer to the caged light>Write in

>>4958831Supporting.If I thought for a second we'd have the time for it I'd grab it and pull him through, as it stands though Be'lakor is operating on "talking is not a free action" and pulling him out would only get us stabbed in the face.

All that is immaterial, the very fabric of what passes for reality in this corner forgotten corner of hell shudders. The stagnant air splinters, the ground fractures, the nameless dead howl in agony as the tomb begins to alter and shifts on a less than atomic level. Your brother is forcing himself through the veil between unreality and nonexistence to come to your aid. Such brotherly camaraderie! and you've only known him for the passing of a few seasons and already he cares for you deeply enough to brazenly venture into the darkest depth of hell, despite the dangers of such a venture! It warms the heart and strengths the spirit! That the bond between two brothers recently introduced could be so strong! Just the sight of his crimson hand is enough to reenergize your resolve, and ease the many agonies afflicting your flesh and mind! The presence of kin, in the darkest hour! Like the rising dawn heralding the end of a deep night! The comfort his entrance brings is comparable to a well tended hearth, while assailed born from the coldest depths of winters heart!"It also creates an opportunity! Stop contemplating and take it!" Kanzeon barks, her words reverberating through your skull and keenly piercing through your mind "before it slips from your fingers""As you command!" You snarl, as you turn away from Magnus and his struggles to find purchase to fully pull his avatar into the tomb of the forgotten and lost. Be'lakor turns to face you at precisely the same moment, your gazes meet. The embers of dying hope and the blaze of its rebirth meet as the very air that surrounds you boils and fries. The ghostly lights dim, and the tiles lining the tomb's floor begin to audibly wail and sob. He Swings his blade. You pull the shards of your shattered cloak back to your shoulders, as its fire flares and forms into an armor styled in a fog panther's visage."As you will die!" Be'lakor roars, his blade solidifying as he brings it to your chest, but at the very moment its ever sharpening and rehoned blade would strike you across the breast he is further distracted. Before his eyes would dart between you and the tear between worlds that Magnus had forced into being through the sheer power of his will alone, but now, his head swivels to face the breech."BROTHER!" Magnus screems, his ever shifting eyes appearing in the stygian shroud of nonexistence. Lighting, hued red, peels from his hand as he at last perceives your opponent or at least the shadow he casts in the shallows of the "Great sea". Reflexively, he alters his weapons path to block or redirect the arcs of psionic energy, incarnated as pure electricity. A trick you utilized against your first encounter with a spiritual adversary! You bow your back, lowering your center of mass as you throw you arms outwards and leap. Your chest impacts against Be'lakor's trunk. Soot, boiling blood, and raw flesh smear against your face and neck, Cont
>>4961281before the cloak formed from your ever burning spirit cleanses you of such filth.Wrapping you arms around your opponent's back, just beneath the protusion of his wings, you latch on firmly and tightly. If you were stronger, you'd attempt to crush his spine beneath your hands, but alas, even with your agonizing training you do not possess such might. Instead, you allow the golden flames that surround you to set the devil alight, aggrevating his still weeping wounds and worsening the burns that cover his body. The red lightning arcs away from the both of you, as the viper blade turns. Be'lakor adjusts his grip, attempting to drive the edge of his living blade through your back. But alas, he is too late. In defending himself against your brother's psykerist attack, he had left himself vulnerable and completely open to your daring manuver. His feet slip from the ground, lifted by your weight and the momentum carried by your raw strength. Both of you fall backwards, deeper into the tomb as it is cast in scarlet light by the arcs of soul lightning flowing freely from your brother's hand and the passage he has torn through spiritual realm. And then it is replaced by the comforting glow of order, the victim of an unbalanced world. The cage of light chimes, as you and the devil meet the ground with a resounding crash, becoming a tangle pile of limbs as you struggle against each other. You to free your arms from beneath his bulk and escape, and he to maneuver his blade to a position were he is able to strike you from. It is a very ungraceful and clumsy scene, opposed to the elegant and skillful dance of death that proceeded it. Beneath your cloak, Be'lakor is burned, the smell of his charring flesh hazing your mind until."Are you helpless without me?" >>4962761oh well. Lets gooo.>Be'lakor's face when buy one, get two primarchs deal
Jostling and squirming your arms free from beneath Be'lakor's back, you push yourself up and leap back. Only then does Kanzeon's snarled, enraged advice reaches your consciousness. And you realize, despite the crudeness of the tactic, there is logic behind it. Though she spoke it because of the fury she felt seeing you struggle and beaten, such barbarity, such brutishness can be effective if properly focused and refined. A master is more threatened by a novice than he is another master. A trained Swordsman knows to counter the techniques of other adherents of the blade and its killing arts. They recognize the movement of fellow warriors, be they their peer or lessers, the motions are familiar to them instinctive even! The skilled recognize the talented and vice versa! One who has clashed their blade against a thousand more, cannot be overcome with talent alone, nor sheer strength. Be'lakor possess both in equal measure, raw power and finely wrought skill. However, nothing is more dangerous than a fool who doesn't know what he's doing! The peerless fighter can be felled by a the clumsily stroke of one who has only began to walk the road of the warrior! To overcome the veteran of eons of combat, you must abandon the manner of a capable fighter, and instead battle him like a lowborn thug whose only training is the raw, natural combat of fists and feet! Forsake martial arts for its rougher counterpart! And so, the moment you stand, you begin to wildly attack Be'lakor as if you have gone feral. Imitating on the crude brawling of the Vishnu, Lai and New Varro People, you kick and slam your fists and forearms into the still prone demon, drawing on your body's potent strength and raw might alone. It quickly becomes a furious, almost blind assault upon your enemy, the darkest spawn of hell who is shocked into a state of idleness. He cannot, at first, comprehend that you've abandoned all pretenses of civility and proficiency to maul him like a rabid beast. But you don't stop kicking, punching and slamming yourself against him, like an ox or cliff jumper driven mad by some disease or a boar incensed to charge. Like a drunkard, you throw your weight behind every strike, stumbling as you whip your armored feet against the devil's sides and stomach, before bashing your knuckles and elbows against his jaw and neck.Kanzeon, remains silent as she distantly observes the spectacle. But that does not mean she stands idle. Rather, she lends her assistance by charging your gauntlets and sabatons with electricity, heated and energized to the point its nearly becomes plasma. You can feel her quiet rage within every arc of emerald hued lightning that arcs from your fist or feet. And the flames of your soul still surround you, burning Be'lakor as they ride along the backs of the spears of green light. Gold and emerald intermingling, united against a common foe and the bounds of love. Cont
>>4962801The air shudders and quakes, as Magnus pulls more of his essence into the hellish tomb to aid you. Vibrant colors and cutting winds rush from behind you, searing themselves against your flames."He's Recovering rapidly! Retreat! Before the entity is able to launch a counterattack!" Kanzeon yells, drawing you from the daze of brutality. Nodding out of habit, you give the wicked soul one more kick between the legs before pressing that foot down and leaping. The sounds of agony the devil emits as you press down on your heel with your full weight, are nearly enough to make you fall ill. But you're able to maintain your balance and stick the landing.Be'lakor wordlessly screams, roaring more out of pain than rage, his contempt buried beneath the whimpers of a pain only a man can experience. His mighty legs are so deeply bowed they're nearly crossed. Like two old oaks bent in their youth by wind. A single tear drips from the ember's light of his eyes, as his expression struggles to shift from a grimace of mind clearing pain and a mask of fury purer than any a mortal man could experience. For a moment, you ponder how strange it is that a spirit would still possess that organ, but you quickly turn your thoughts to the task of escaping the agonized devil before he recovers. Your heart is pounding in your chest, and your lungs are empty of air. Your throat burns, alongside every muscle in your body. Pangs of pain wash through you with every minute movement."I'll pay you back a thousand fold for this insult! Fog's brat" Be'lakor cries from somewhere behind you in the tomb "Your death will be neither quick nor painless! I'll make the prince of pleasures seem merciful! I'll take your manhood for this, Lieren! I swear you'll feel the same pain as you've inflicted upon me!""Seems you were successful in your endeavor of pissing that warp entity off" Kanzeon giggles in your mind, her spite for your opponent oozing into her words "Just remember as long as you wear this armor, you'll never fight alone""In a way that means it was your own heel which crushed his balls" You sneer, as a stone flies past your head, hissing as it cuts through the air."Any lifeform, material or immaterial, which threatens my beloved scholar deserves to have its testicles compressed" Kanzeon says dully, though what she says makes the flatness of her tone even more terrifying than it otherwise would be "Especially one that dares to think it can get away with insulting him and myself!"A screaming skeleton of some four legged beast is tossed overhead as Be'lakor bellows, sobbing as he struggles to move his lower half despite the torturous pain ringing from his crotch and groin. He stumbles on his cloven hooves, the light in his eyes growing to a piercing light of sheer killing intent. He swings at your back, as you turn to face him, but with your next step you escape his reach. >>4963103Well, because the dreadaxe is another daemon weapon that lives to hurt other daemons, we could have just used it to hurt Be'lakor and got rid of it, tried to study how it's anti-daemon power worked exactly, or just properly sealed it like we did with the nurgle weapon. As it is, it's just waiting for a new Malal champion to rise so he can give it to him, or even Kaleb himself if he is locked here in retconland somewhere. Also it's cool.
>>4963103>I mean that lieren is so opposed to chaos and evil in general that I'm starting to think that our role as primarch will be proto-inquisitorThat doesn't preclude us from using daemon weapons in the slightest. Radical Inquisitors use daemonhosts and daemon weapons all the time, the main difference between us and them is that we're significantly harder to corrupt. >>4963200>>4963200The aix-fanged spear was tge weapon that the Yin lord was using, and we looted that junk that belong to him.
>>4963200>I thought the Six-Fanged Spear was a piece of archeotech from the Yan's treasure vaults? It is, I never said otherwise. It was used by a corrupted human bloodline though.
>>4963200Wraithbone is Eldar bonesinger exclusive as far I know considering how the Old Ones shaped them to be able to create Wraithbone. Hell the Old Ones could make superior materials out if Warp stuff.
>>4963214So were the twins Dao, but we use them.>>4963210Already knew that one boss. I remember the fight. It's also how we got Cui Fu's badass warhorse a lovely girlfriend.>>4963227Just because wraithbone is made by a specific caste of knife-ears doesn't mean we couldn't study and learn to make a parallel of our own.
>>4963231And soon Cui Fu's Horse is going to have a child. In the end the whole debate about decapitating the horse reaulted in something good, that's a rare thing for the autistic shitflinging we anons get into this quest.
>>4963231>So were the twins Dao, but we use them. You're the one getting antsy about using our enemies weapons against them, not me mate.
>>4962826>+1
>>4963291Not antsy, just making a point.> Also, not the anon who wants the Dreadaxe.I'd forgotten that was even a thing till it was brought up. No idea what this Riyu Jing thing or these retconned gods are either.>>4963236The foal was already born bud. It's Kanti, 'Beautiful' I think in the tribal Vishnu language I think the blurb said. Also I guess Nothing now has ALL the top-shelf horses, among a great many other things. Think it was when we were seeing things from the perspective of that Kang dude who got obliterated by Dandan and then cyber'd up by Kanzeon.
>>4963532> Also, not the anon who wants the DreadaxeThat would be me. But that's anon is right, you made a point, but used two examples that go against it.But I get what you mean, using an actual daemon weapon is quite the jump from using normal weapons that belonged to corrupt people, that's why I didn't really want to keep it in the arsenal, and more like a temporary advantage, research material, or just sealing it somewhere to fuck Malal over. Also thanks for the heads up for the horse, I tought the baby was already born, but couldn't remember and I didn't want to check the archives.
>>4963532>> Also, not the anon who wants the Dreadaxe.Well aware.>No idea what this Riyu Jing thing or these retconned gods are either. The Riyu Jingu Bang is the personal weapon of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King of Chinese/Indian mythology. The Monkey King also was born of a stone, led a rebellion, and has omnivision.Arianka was one of the three Gods of Law from the early days of Warhammer Fantasy.
So after we finish with belabor, what is the new government for a united Shangrala be?I'm personally heavily against making jinhai the ruler of the entire world, no one man should have all that power. I think that we should have a world council, where the leaders of the top 4 nations discuss how the world should be run and why, something like an EU but for the world as a whole I might be jumping the gun here but after belakor any other chaos champion that isn't a greater daemon atleast is gonna be a chump, so we should really put more effort into planning exactly what a united world would look like
>>4963711>I think that we should have a world council, That's what I was thinking, perhaps with ourself as a mediator and tie-breaker if need be.>where the leaders of the top 4 nations discuss how the world should be run and why,I don't think the need for world laws will make themselves apparent. The rulers of each nation (there might be more than four now that we know the Eight Celestial Courts aren't just myth) can govern their own countries. Any world-council would be for trade discussions and settling grievences, not the head of some globablist power. Really groundbreaking things like space travel or the establishment of planet-spanning roads might be discussed, but self-rule is the best way to lower the chances of disagreement and therefore, lower the chances of conflict.something like an EU but for the world as a whole
>>4963742Well yeah, that's fine at first, but what I didn't right down is that we should expand our prosperity not only to our own planet, but to any others around us as well, we won't be conquering them but rather building a federation?alliance? Of planets and each one of those is going to need a representative to speak for their planet in the ¿council?Basically while I don't want any one person to rule a planet, someone is going to have to represent that planet if we ever get to that point
>>4963748The odds that we'll make it into the system, let alone other systems with habitable worlds before Dad comes to pick us up, are real low. I think Dorn and Guilliman were the only two to leave their homeworld before they were rediscovered. Ferrus, who had massive technological know-how and a planet where archeotech rained down from the sky, wasn't able to make it to orbit. If we are able to, then perhaps the leaders of each country on Shangrala can elect a representative to newly discovered worlds, but that's no small "if."
>>4963711It will take a few more years for unite the entire world. But perhaps even less. The journey rebellion war was very short, and it has free a very large amount of lands. We are also preparing for a campaign of the world liberation during this peace period, not just in prosperity or the defense of Long-Jia.It could be done by making it like you said but this also creates a natural division. Expanded even by their different cultures and the planet geography. There are benefits and negatives in both systems of governance. >>4963784In regard to space exploration and colonization, after uniting the planet it can be done. Saying that emps suddenly arrive after our unification is kind of odd. A few years have passed from Lieren arrival on Shangrila, and it still took the emperor sometime for reach the first primarch he ever recovered. It s not an hardship.Kazeon has even begin the process for get out of the mountain with the ship. But even without her we know how to make basic spaceships or ar least a shuttle from the pod lol. Not even counting the study of the dark eldars ships. It s just a spaceship or more that goes out in the space of our solar system. It s not honestly incredible to do especially with someone like Lieren.I think Roboute managed to make a small space empire before the imperium arrived to him.
>>4963819>Saying that emps suddenly arrive after our unification is kind of odd.Happened to pretty much every Primarch. Only outliers were the two who made it to space, Angron, the Khan, and Ferrus. Only Ferrus because he wanted conflict to make the tribes on Medusa grow stronger, and the Khan because he unified Chogoris once and found it so boring he let it collapse.>A few years have passed from Lieren arrival on Shangrila, and it still took the emperor sometime for reach the first primarch he ever recovered.Fulgrim was on Chemos for fifty years and never made it to orbit.>But even without her we know how to makebasic spaceships or ar least a shuttle from the pod lol.Do we? Seems to me that if the gestation capsules had blueprints for spacefaring vessels, Primarchs like Perturabo or Ferrus would have made it off their homeworlds as well.>Not even counting the study of the dark eldars ships. All well and good, but we have much more pressing concerns. Namely the two Chaos-corrupted nations with a bone to pick with us. Defeating the Vishnu and the Shuni, de-corrupting their societies, and installing good and virtuous rulers from what goodness remains comes first. Then we'll doubtless have to deal with the Bask, then maybe three more countries, and only then begin to look to the stars. I don't think it's that presumptuous to say that Big E will have found us before then, especially with how much we've been fucking with warpshit.
>>4963996>Fulgrim was on Chemos for fifty years and never made it to orbit.Fulgrims a little bitch

A wave of anger rushes through your mind, slowly flowing down into your veins to grip you heart as you are tormented by the coarse, raspy sobs of the light of hope. This spirit, she has without a doubt been imprisoned far longer than even the Matron of life, Isha!. Being near enough to hear her mournful cries both deepens and darkens your rage."Rousing the Ogre because it senses a maiden in danger, how chivalrous of you" Kanzeon says with a courtly huff "But focus that anger, Your effectiveness in combat will lower by at least an eighteenth percentage if that same anger is allowed to control your mind."I know" you answer without speaking as you lift yourself on your scrapped and blood knuckles, easing Kanzeon's worries with your thoughts "but worry not, I have that ogre restricted and well chained within my heart""Until it breaks those chains and releases itself, emotions are a fickle thing" Kanzeon warns with a hiss as you rise and cup a hand around your mouth. Drawing in a deep breath, you fill your lungs with the scalding cold grave air of the tomb and rise your chest to prepare to shout with all of your strength and might."BROTHER! SHIELD YOURSELF!" You cry, your own worry and dread of one you cherish and love being threatened further rising the sheer volume of your shout. The tomb quakes, shaking past its ancient foundations as your voice carries through the ether and beyond into the wilds of the spiritual realm.Magnus reacts with a rapidity unmatched by any expect your own, his soul visible eye flares between copper and silver as he perceives Be'lakor beyond his shadow. Veins bulge across his free arm, his crimson hide tightening as the tightly corded muscles beneath harden like wrought steel. Curiosity flickers across what you can see of his perception, before it is replaced with shocked terror that quickly settles into a fiery rage that could burn and scald spirit as easily as any fire could flesh! His closely cut, groomed nails seem to sharpen into talons as his appearance changes. For a moment, he appears to be a giant even to yourself, before your eyes force his true visage to resist against the transient illusion his power overlays before the "reality" of the ghost's world. The lightning draws back into his palm, and hardens into a glass like substances that is cast in the radiance of a thousand stars! It expands outwards, interlocking and melding together into panes of a stained glass window, that quickly curves and bends itself into a convex shield. "...I cannot calculate the level of psionic power your brother wields" Kanzeon says, sounding cowed and unsettled, which is rather upsetting and unsettling in of itself. Just the sight of Magnus sheer power and excellence at wielding the forces of the Emperyan is enough to disturb her! She who has faced down the vileness of devils and wicked spirits, and endured the tortures of isolation for untold centuries. Truly, your brother is a formidable force by himself.Cont
>>4964217In awe, you watch as Be'lakor brings his blade against the glass. It's edge rebounds away, as the glass cracks but does not shatter. Then, it appears as thought time has stopped. Clearly, you can perceive the motion within the halted passing of time. It is a sensation most queer and bizarre! You can feel your thoughts slow to a ponderous pace, yet you can percieve all that occurs within that time as if you were aware of it in a more direct sense. The Stained shield shudders, and the frozen air ripples with some kind of energy. And then time resumes, and Be'lakor is lifted from his feet by a wave of Kinect energy, and carried through the air as if a giant of the illusionary size Magnus' presented had lifted him from the ground and hurled him like a stone.Shaking your head, you blink and adjust to the flow of time."I'LL BE ABLE TO STAND BY YOUR SIDE MOMENTARILY, LIEREN! ALLOW ME TO DISTRACT THIS...THING!" Magnus calls back, as he tries to claw and pull himself into the realm you yourself were stolen to "CARRY OUT WHATEVER PLAN YOU HAVE SCHEMED WHILST I INCARNARE MY ESSENCE INTO THIS PARADOXICAL REALM"You nod, and turn to face the cage as you hear the screeching of Be'lakor's hooved feet digging into the wrecked tiled floor of the tomb, pulling his body to a halt without so much as losing his balance."FINE! Two corpses will lay at my feet before the day is done!" Be'lakor snarls "it makes no difference to me, if I slay one or two godlings!"Focusing your attention, your pierce your sight into the cage as Kanzeon attempts to warn and remind you of the affects of gazing upon such potent energies even indirectly. Immediatly, your eyes begin to feel as if you stared into a raging blizzard, the sensation of frost forming into ice upon their surface and within the Aqueous Humors shakes you to your core as a new form of agony ripples through your flesh and buries itself into your mind. The wraithlike figure shifts, as you understand its innate nature, becoming at first a porcelain doll of woman, dressed in strange armor and rising crown of ice, and then a demure maiden dressed in a thin dress woven of snow flakes and morning's frost, and then a shield made of blocks of ice so ancient it has blackened cast with figures formed of snow. But each of these visions, while both true and false are in some way wounded. The doll warrior queen's porcelain is cracked, and beneath her mask a terrified visage half seen is coated in tears and bruises, the maiden of ice cowers and shields herself with bloodied arms, eyes empty except for blind terror, and the wall...the wall has been broken down and conquered, the soldiers upon it impaled upon pikes and spears. And finally, your mind settles on an image that it will accept as the entity's "real" form. She could pass for Luli's sister or mother, and carries as many wounds as the faithful adherent had when you first came across her. Cont
>>4964218Teardrops of ice drip down her chin, one of her arms hangs limply to her side, while the other's hand is a mass of twisted and broken fingers. Deep gouges line her thighs and legs, as if massive claws were dragged across her pale flesh. Her beautiful face is bloated, as if she had endured a near fatal beating. Her eyes weep endlessly, and she shivers, balled up with her legs held closely to her chest. Her flowing silver white hair hides the true horror of her injuries, but it has become frayed at the end and unkempt. What you perceive, is a frightened animal, beaten into submission and fear, too deeply cowed to even attempt to test the its confines. And what you see, is a protector defeated and consumed by the shame and grief of their failure, their sorrows dominating their heart and mind like a cancer. What light she gives off, as comforting and rejuvenating as it is, is all the meekened spirit can do to attempt to keep you and others from befalling the same fate as herself. The wounds in her heart, like Kanzeon's own once did, bleeds and fills the air with energy. That of healing, but it is fouled by the terror that afflicts her. It is weak, barely able to guard you against Be'lakor's attack. The Qi within it could be channeled or utilized, but you have little interest or want to steal what little power and influence this poor girl is able to summon from her broken self. However, perhaps her light would aid magnus or at least scare away Be'lakor? Perhaps hope could be returned to her heart if she realizes her cage is not absolute?"Lieren don't!" Kanzeon cries out as you reach for the crystal bars, and grasp it.-The Lord of Butchers, the collector of skulls, the master of war and murder smiled upon his throne, as a chiming tune he distantly recalled reached his ears. As his legions halted their endless battle for his favor and amusement to listen to the song and wander why it so deepened their ever boiling rage, Khorne shifted upon his throne. Upon Shangrala, his chosen was roused from their slumber as the lord of skulls shifted his head, and rested his cheek upon a blood soaked gauntleted hand. With the other, he opened his palm, and motioned it towards the yet hidden realm of his returned brother. Beneath his armor, a fanged grin ran across the merciless god's gore soaked lips. So, brother, that is were you have taken our pawn! How bold of a first move to make! And instantly, all the remaining three players turned their attention from the board and the reverie of their forgotten captive's cry, and gazed into the shadows were the fifth hid, and where the unmovable piece attempt to steal away their prize! In turn, they all cried out in surprise! Impossible! We were four before! Hrrrn, unexpected. Seems you are not in fact, all knowing, architect YOU GOLDEN EYED BASTARD!? Did you believe the failed god was your tribulation?! He was just a TEST to see if you were worthy of beginning it at all! "But you hate..." You struggle to say, struggle to even breath "The others" We all do, HAR! Sie Nie's voice is gentle, yet fierce. Venomous, yet sweet with kindness and joy, but her scorn overcomes it all and the Maiden of wanton pleasure's tone becomes one of masculine rage and womanly scorn. You impudent swine! How dare you! How dare you! all the offers and chances of glory, and you strive to free that piece of garbage!? "Brother? What's wrong!" Magnus calls out, not hearing the voice of any of the self titled gods, you cough and taste blood, wheeze and swallow burning heat. Jian Qi's tone is one of curiosity and the anger of the denied, a slippery voice not unlike Tax collector Ling's or A serpents hiss. But, beneath his interested demeanor, you can taste his spite. it is most unusual that anything was able to step outside of its destiny, besides nothing, but I will not tolerate you interfering with two of my most prized pawns A voice that could only belong to Na Gou, already familiar to your ears, oozes into your mind like puss from an infected wound, or stench from a decaying corpse. Now will you accept my fatherly affection, and its gifts? When you are faced with annihilation? Kong Nue speaks last, and most briefly. His voice...his voice is the voice of every man you've killed, lead by Cui Fu. Tears of blood fall from your eyes as his presence falls upon your shoulders Endure this, or fall dead "Something has afflicted you!" Magnus realizes "There's...something besides the apperant enemy here""Ru-" you try to speak, before blinding pain blanks out your mind. It is as if a thousand thin knives have peel back your skin, exposing it to the elements, exposing it to drops of venom, liquor and dust of salt! As if a current of electricity had replaced your blood, and turned your flesh into malformed clay. As if you began to rot and decay as you still lived. As if your skin boiled and burned, marked by a thousand and one axe swings. As if arrows pierced you from all directions, as if all warmth and life had been drawn out of you. Huh, neat. Didn't think I'd get so much support.Something I was thinking about besides healing was that Lieren's fiery defiant energy compliments the maiden's own cool, pure water/ice energy. I think. Not entirely sure I have this Wuxing stuff down.

>>4964226> Endure it, and sit silent, riding through the torments of the four other lords of hell, commanding your brother to ignore your plight, and fight on!>Channel and focus on the Journey and its teachings to anchor and shield you. Use "reality flickers before the storm" to further make use of the journey if possible.People facing heavenly tribulation in Xianxia often sit it out and just tank the whole thing in silence so narratively I assume that is the best way to handle this, secondly the journey is strongly anti chaos since its the metaphorical distilled core of Lierens character so since we are fighting the four all at once now is the time to bring it out as much as possible.

>>4964957^
>>4964947>Especially enduring the pain sounds like the Na Gou option. If Mortarion just grit his teeth and endured Nugle's Rot for eternity, he wouldn't have become a daemon prince. But he buckled and now he perpetually smells like a corpse dunked in the liquid that pools at the bottom of Carl Jr.'s dumpsters.
I have not followed this quest in quite a while.... WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?
>>4965332Lets just say that experimenting with the warp os bad
>>4965332As it would turn out, Lieren has the power to cut the metaphysical shit, thus bringing Malal back into existence.
>>4965332Our special eyes were the gift of Malal.Turns out that when we decided to study why a mysterious fifth god that fucked over the other four wasn't documented, the truth vision was the missing ingredient to bring Malal back to reality. We just unretconned GW's bad decisions.
Did Malal just encouraged us to free hope? Was really all his master plan to fuck Chaos?
>>4965364Who the fuck knows with that guy, he hates everyone else almost as much as he hates himself, so yeah, it's entirely possible that he's making us strong enough to kill him because that's his nature.
>>4965364Malal hates Chaos, himself included. So long as everyone dies before he does he's more than happy to count that as a win.
>>4965338It's isn't experimenting with the warp is bad, it's that you thought it was a good idea to create "true chaos".
>>4964650but will he have the dad bod?
>walk away for a couple threads>fightan one of khornes champions, which makes sense considering lieren is trying his ass off to apparently purge chaos off his planet>apparently lieren is chilling with magnus, which is legit cool>apparently somehow unretconned malal>is about to completely shit up the warpNGL i legit thought the caged chick was the eldar god that nurgle has hold of.
>>4965487>NGL i legit thought the caged chick was the eldar god that nurgle has hold of.Oh, you haven't heard? All the cool gods have other, weaker gods imprisioned in their domain now.
>>4964290this
>>4965487>>4965491i think she is Lileath the Maiden
>>4965573She's Arianka, one of the Gods of Law from the early days of Warhammer Fantasy. She was imprisioned in a crystal coffin by one of the Chaos Gods and Kaleb Daark, Champion of Malal, was sent to kill her. But this was in a 4-part comic series that only made it to 3 due to legal issues with Malal's creator. Lileath is in Slaanesh's stomach, either dead or trapped like the first generation of Olympians, I prefer to believe the latter.
>>4964368>>4964290adding this as well(> Try to heal the gentle maiden's wounds with your spiritual energies.)
>>4964226> Endure it, and sit silent, riding through the torments of the four other lords of hell, commanding your brother to ignore your plight, and fight on!> Try to heal the gentle maiden's wounds with your spiritual energies.I like this idea. To quote from Klaus "A true selfless act always sparks another", let the spark bring about the God of Order.
>>4965578I have been reading what little there is on her and i am not exactly impressed, is she worth all this effort?.
>>4965895Probably. We don t exactly find this kind of spirits everywhere. At least is an occasion. >>4964226> Endure it, and sit silent, riding through the torments of the four other lords of hell, commanding your brother to ignore your plight, and fight on!> Try to heal the gentle maiden's wounds with your spiritual energies.
>>4965895For lierens perspective, of course. From a player perspective, It annoys the gods the most, so of course.
I probably don't mean this but I'd like there to be real consequences to our actions. Maybe Leiren dies and we're now controling Magnus who's serving the Order Goddess.Or maybe the we're now the sect and have to carry on Leiren's legacy.
>>4966037This has to be bait.I refuse to believe it isn't.
>>4966049There are dumbasses in any quest, just ignore it and be on the lookout for samefagging
If we find a forgeworld I hope to change their dogma of human life having no value and aversion to invention, innovation, and outright stealing xeno designs is changed Or better yet we create our own organization of scientists and engineers and then tell the mechanicum to suck it long and hard
>>4966114Emperor would veto that hard, and we know how the emperor is about his enforcements. And it's not that human life has no value, it's that they are cogs in a machine, their vlaue is intrinsically tied to their capacity to preform a function.Lastly, I really really need to clear up this misconception but it isn't an aversion to invention and innovation except in the most extreme of cases. The rule is that only a Magos or higher leveled individual, a proven and skilled individual, is permitted to tinker with designs are try and innovate. Because rampant innovation doomed man before, so only the trusted can be allowed to do it.
>>4966127Emperor hates the mechanicum, I'm sure he'd turn a blind eye and let them seeth Also that top dogs innovating is bullshit, only cawl is innovating and every other tech priest hates him for it
>>4966133Emperor hates them, but has use of them. He's not going to kill them off, because if he could without his crusade failing, he would. And top dogs innovating is not bullshit, Cawl being one of said top dogs. But most media doesn't give a shit about their innovation and elects not to show it. 30K however is rife with such innovations whenever you look at mars or the creation of new marks of armour.
>>4966137Consider further, Cawl makes use of AI and is distinctly of a radical tint.Priests don't like eachother at the best of times, his radicalism is particularly not attractive.
>>4966114The Mechanicum is full of diffetent sects, promoting one above the otger could work, but it would get rivals wanting to fuck us over. And primarch worlds have quite a lot of autonony, even the ones that conquered later, as show by the leniency on Ultramar and Lorgar's preaching. As long as we keep up our crusading quota we could expand prosperity. Now removing the Mechanicum all together from the Imperium is basically impossible before already having "won" 40k.
>>4966155I'd rather we just make the Mechanicum as a faction entirely obsolete down the line by creating our own enclaves of Loyalist Imperial Tech-Scholars. I'd also prefer if they looked like people and not pimped out toasters, but that's just me.
>>4966159That is all well and good but the mechanicum have a state enforced monopoly on tech and will come down ruthlessly on anyone caught breaching it.
>>4966167We could leverage our homeworld's relative autonomy. I'm pretty sure the Mechanicum can't do shit about something happening in a Primarch's territory.
>>4966176But the problem is expanding beyond it, and the Mechanicum as a whole deciding to fuck us over at every opportunity. As opposed to getting a sect hooke don the journey, where there would be rivals, allies and a lot of neutrals. Also they would conatatntly push the Emperor to censor us somehow, which he would eventually do due to the imporatnace of Mars's support to the crusade.
>>4965895Assuming we don't die or have to get dreadnoughted? Probably.
>>4966133>Emperor hates the mechanicum, I'm sure he'd turn a blind eye and let them seethWhat Big E would or wouldn't tolerate aside, the Mechanicum is a faction that YOU DO NOT WANT TO ANGER. Because if you do, they'll pull all the Mechanicum ships from your fleet, techpriests from your enginariums, supply lines away from your crusade route, and stop accepting techmarine applicants from your legion. Which means you have to find another way to source all your materiel. And while Kanzeon (and maybe her sisters) will be able to produce some things, they won't be able to supply an entire Exploratory Fleet.>only cawl is innovating and every other tech priest hates him for itThats nu-40k. This is more old-school 30k. Books like Mechanicum paint a pretty interesting picture of pre-war life on Mars. People like Koriel Zeth and Ipluvien Maximal were openly innovating.
>>4966220Well then in that case getting a forgeworld to accept the Journey (not force it, but highly encourage it) would be our best bet, we need innovation to spread prosperity
>>4966223We don't even have to convert them to our philosophy, Horus won the allegiance of half of Mechanicum with a single STC right before the Heresy. We could buy a forge world with any one of the things we have in our satchel.
Calling the vote now. >>4966226> We could buy a forge world with any one of the things we have in our satchel. Not quite? The greatest technological discoveries we've made, such as the terraforming 'water stone' devices, have been because of Kanzeon. Lieren is incredibly intelligent, but the direction of the story hasn't led him to be that much of a grand inventor or reclaimer of lost treasures. You could make the same argument in Old Man's quest, but the difference would be that K either discovered them himself or looted them from unworthy foes (like the Ganth). The problem that both characters share is that the mere existence of some of their allies (Kanzeon and the Tiger children, 'Pygmalius' and the Jokaero) will conflict with hard-line Human and tech purists. It would honestly be better to take time and l feel out the cult, looking for individuals who could be trusted to neither abuse the knowledge given nor betray the trust of the Primarch.
>>4966313> Really excited to write actually, cause of that write in.That's a good feels right there.
>>4966313That's gotta piss off the chaos gods like nothing else, they get literally nothing of value while he directly does things to annoy.
>>4966313>Really excited to write actually, cause of that write inI'm at half mast already.
>>4966314>Not quite? The greatest technological discoveries we've made, such as the terraforming 'water stone' devices, have been because of Kanzeon. The Mechanicum doesn't care from whence the tech flows, only that it does. The memory-stealer, the water stones, the Six-Fanged Spear, any one of those is comperable to the fragments Horus gifted to the Fabricator General.>but the direction of the story hasn't led him to be that much of a grand inventor or reclaimer of lost treasures. We're absolutely a grand inventor. We've invented firearms, better methods of farming, electricity, more efficient transportation, better body armor, modern medicine, advanced forging techniques, all that shit. Hell, our job is Minister of Innovation. Our recovery of Lost Artifacts is less pronounced, as everything other than Kanzeon we've taken in battle, but since she has a vested interest in recovering archeotech, we do too.>The problem that both characters share is that the mere existence of some of their allies (Kanzeon and the Tiger children, 'Pygmalius' and the Jokaero) will conflict with hard-line Human and tech purists. The Tiger People are a nonissue. They aren't inherently chaotic and they have the direct patronage of a Primarch. Big E let beastmen continue to exist, so nobody is gonna make a stink about it. Nobody that we can't cowl with a look, that is. Kanzeon, I'll grant you, is an issue. We've openly cooperated with Abominable Intelligence, indulged it in its wishes, helped it craft an organic body, and declared our love for it. All undeniable tech-heresy. Which is why any sort of philosophy pamphlet we mail to Sacred Mars is getting atomized on the spot. Religious fanatics aren't likely to accept alternate viewpoints from apostates, but they will accept bribes.
>>4966325>AdMech declares holy jihad on our homeworld during the Horus Heresy>Kanzeon hacks their ships and drives their ships into the center of our homeworld's sun
>>4966350>"Inshallah these mewling children will be taught the true meaning of 'technological might,' my beloved"
>>4966350Depending on the ship class she wouldn't even need to hack them.Ark Mechanicus ships still have their STC network A.I. aboard. They just dont tell the meat bags because they feel that the toaster fuckers dont need to know, they dont feel like dealing with the Golden Idiot, they think it's funny, or any combination of the three.
>>4966223Our best bet is to work on our yard and expanding it with imperial concessions or conquests. Guilliman made an incredibly large and prosperous region (as well wealthy and cultured), with a lot of good tech made by his peoples and no signs of most of the bad things that afflicts other territories of the imperium. More importantly it was under HIS control and the one of HIS men.We can do the same, or talk with the emperor for create a new imperial office for us to use and work on all the imperium. This will need a serious political power, but honestly Lieren has all the good cards for start a strong political presence across the entire galaxy.Thinking just about the Mechanicus and their worth though, will make us look weak, especially if we decide to put their worth above ours. The Mechanicus isn t worth enough to look weak, and it will never be.If it was such a big deal then everyone and their moms would lick them every second of existance. Except they don t, they still treat them with silk gloves if the mechanicus doesn t attempt something retarded, but the emperor and his sons didn t tell them or gift them all they had. Same for other people. That much is clear, and what is more clear is that they aren t the only big players around. There are numerous factions in the imperium. Lieren objective is prosperity for all. Not so surprisingly that ideal, is probably well appreaciated among the stars. Combine with the Journey that will spread like wild fire even if Lieren decide to stop the book production or not help it spreading (he has no reason to stop it or not help it spreading) or the emperor does (difficult to say if he would do so, because is not that bad for a philosopy at the end of it, also he let that holy book run for quite a while), and with the likely fact that he will become a very popular Primarch .... is political gravitas and social influence will become very very huge. More than most of his brothers.Meaning a lot of poweful factions will want to become friends with him and entire peoples will love him, the Mechanicus isn t dumb either so they will court him not even for the high tech he has, but just for the political power he will have. Meaning we can get the knife by the handle if we want, and if we play our cards right. Hell, the imperial propaganda will not have to write a single article in their news about him because any Lieren military reports will be heroic, well planned and thinking about how he can help each and every human peoples he comes across. Plus it s humble origins and the fact he is very friendly. That s just perfect to work with.
In regard to Kazeon, honestly not Lieren or her are dumb. When they read over the general informations of the imperium, they will had already thought of multiple plans. They are good enough together to surpass any kind of interference made by imperial factions, i find unlikely anyone can understand what she is beside emps, malcador and the other primarchs. Beside she is actually of great worth, and could help the imperium a lot. There is also the chance that her model, might be recent and advance enough to be immune to whatever happened to the Men of Iron.
>>4966429I hope so, I'd hate to have to put our babymama down because she got touched by the warpcode
>>4966434Warpcode is stuck in a vault.
>>4966434Well it s very strange to send just a group of colony ships to a distant uncolonized system. But beside not fully knowing the details of the colonization, that and that we should read all the memory spheres with the Lotus sceptre when we have time, she had fought a lot against chaos on her own. And she has very strong morals and a deep love for mankind. Anyway this is another topic for another time, we need to think which of the two tyrants we should move first against. I believe we should attack Kamal Kanan first. The Shuni are already united and we still don t have enough wanderers of the fog in confront to his sorcerers, and he has a lot of spirits under him too.Nitya Shina is not to ubderstimate either, but he still needs to finish off the remaining Vishnu kingdoms. He has high tech, evil spirits and a professional army.
>>4966313This is gonna be one of those 30,000 character updates isn't it?
>>4966498Maybe, but I've been kept away from my keyboard by irl stuff, so I've only been able to start writing now
regardless of what will happen in the future I for one am glad we unretconia Malal. the train is off the rails.
What if, during Lieren's post-heresy MIA time, he is actually seeking and liberating anti-chaos warp gods?
>>4966503At this point the train has torn up the rails and is looking at Canon's unlubed anus.
>>4966524I could see the Harlequins bringing Lieren to the Black Library and allowing him to study the ancient knowledge of the Old Ones and the Aeldari Empire when it was truly worthy.Aside from that, it's also entirely possible that Lieren might descend into a deep meditation wherein he fights the Gods for thousands of years; time doesn't flow in the Warp like it does in the physical realm, and forcing the Dark Powers to devote a portion of their attention on him gives humanity a reprieve in which they can prepare, uncover ancient things the thought-parasites wanted buried, etc.
>>4966533>>4966528>>4966524>>4966503>>4966499If they feed off of thoughts, then did Jesus and God exist for a time?
>>4966537Jesus is a historical fact, whether or not he was the son of God, born of a Virgin is the part that's up for debate. The Abrahamic God probably exists in the warp, just not nearly as powerful as any of the other God. Depending on the book, "Catherics" still exist in the setting, just on backwater worlds.
>>4966537It's kind of hand waved away in canon due to GW not wanting to fuck the hornet's nest. There was also a few jokes (in the fandom anyway) that Big E was Jesus. But if we want to be technical then yes they probably did and then they got either eaten by one of the 4 or they exist in some small corner of the warp due to only a few people even worshiping anymore thanks to Big E Money's cult of reason 2 "this time surely it wont backfire and turn into an extremist cult" bugaloo.
>>4966540Olanius Pious was one, atleast the shitty perpetual one.>>4966542The emperor should wear a fedora instead of a wreath, he is the champion of euphoria and of true aethism has never been tried before.
>>4966588>Olanius Pious was one, atleast the shitty perpetual one.Perpetual-Ollanius is something I didn't mind, at least character-wise. If he was just some older-than-Big E perpetual that'd be fine, even interesting given all his hinted-at backstory. But to replace the regular joe Ollanius that put himself between Horus and the Emperor? Still a downgrade, but much better than the marine, terminator, and custodian who did it in past editions.
>>4966592I still think Olanius being a regular ass guardsmen is the ideal. Really sells what the entire moment was supposed to be about.
>>4966602It's ideal, yeah. That's what I said. But BL is trying to do some "oooh look how stories become merged and conflated as time goes on" shit with Ollanius Persson the Perpetual and Ollanius Piers the Guardsman. It isn't the most egregiously unforgivable shit in Saturnine, but it's not great either. But as I said, I like the character of Persson and I don't think BL is going to accept criticism now, as they never have before.
>>4966622Considering it's now "illegal" to create GW fan content that "disparages the image of Games Workshop" that's an understatement.
>>4966622I'd much rather they just just retcon Perpetual Ollanius entirely and move forward with the Guardsman story being the only one.
>>4966639Games Workshop has made it apparent that what the fans would rather happen is utterly meaningless to them.
>>4966641Alright, forget what I want, it's an objectively superior story beat and all this perpetual nonsense is a fucking money-sink.
>>4966644Careful, now. Haven't you heard? Fan content that disparages the image of Games Workshop is illegal. We don't want to give Malal any ideas.
>>4966650Games Workshop can kiss my ass and suck my dick from the back while they're down there. Their legal department doubly so.Resin 3D printers are only getting better and cheaper as time goes on, the resolution on those fuckers puts GW sculpts and castings to shame.
Through the static of agony that has replaced all thought and feeling, you can discern through the orchestra of torment unimagined and unmatched pain Magnus' cries of rage and desperation to reach you. Though your enemies shroud themselves from his perception, he was able to discern their movement the moment before they struck. He struggles to bridge the gap, to place his hand upon your shoulder and lift you up as you have so many others. It is through the compassion he bears, that you are able to grasp the tatters of consciousness drifting through your afflicted, addled mind and hold firm to them as if they were a rope. But like a rope, the friction and struggle of keeping it in your grasp frays your mind, injures it gravely. But, you have never lacked in resolve, nor have you ever been lacking in stubbornness. Through the agony, you wield your conviction to summon up the will required to do anything besides howl and scream into the void that has become your mind."STAY BACK! STAY AWAY FROM ME!" You snarl through a drooling mouth, spitting and frothing as the smell of burning ozone and charred flesh fills your mouth and lungs "IGNORE MY PLIGHT, TURN AWAY! YOU HAVE A BATTLE TO WAGE AS I HAVE MINE! THERE IS NO ASSISTANCE YOU CAN OFFER TO ME, MAGNUS!!"You cannot hear his reply, as the mind tearing torture rips its way back into you like a second thrust of a spear or the delayed second barrage of artillery upon and already devastated field. But now, now you do not allow it to gain enough of a foothold to overcome you as completely as it had prior! Like a lashing, the second strike aches less as it is anticipated, and by expecting the pain to come you're able to defend against it! To endure it! At least partially, but even blocking a fraction of this torture is a monumental victory against the forces of all that is wicked, vile and Evil! Clenching your jaw, you swallow your screams and through the half light of your fading consciousness you become determined to now allow these devils the pleasure of hearing your cries. They will no longer exalt in the whimpering of their foe, and instead be forced to stew in defiant silence. This struggle, hardens your once crumbling resolve, steeling the will that had began to drift away like grains of sand upon a current. Kanzeon's crying, serves only to tighten your hold on your consciousness and fleeing thoughts, backing your conviction with her sorrow and grief. Her worry, her pain, alongside that shown by your brother, is enough of a spark to reignite the flames of defiance from the embers of mere resistance. These self named gods, expect you to scream, howl and cry for them, to amuse them with suffering. That is their punishment, that is their goal. To see you bowed, and broken. To react with fury and fear. They want you to break, to lower yourself to their levels. To spit venom and vitrol, or to submit completely. So you shall do neither, and suffer in silence. Cont
>>4966662As your people suffered beneath their puppets. As the world suffered to host their petty games and intrigues. But even just resisting the urge to cry out, to beg for help or an end to this misery is a battle more hardly fought than any that has come before. In this moment you are the victim, not the savior. In this moment, you find yourself in the shoes of the abused and battered. In the place of Isha, the dying light before you and...And Luli. That thought braces your spirit, and allows your will to flourish and cultivate itself back to its usual vastness. Luli did not break when she was defiled and tortured, and her agonies were beyond sensation alone. Though the devils force a theater of horrors into your minds eye, of past atrocities and the illusions of pleasant futures beneath their yoke and heel, you resist. It is poison wearing the mask of temptation, corruption in the guise of blessings. And though your eyes bleed boiling blood and fouler, nameless fluids they are still able to see these visions for what they are!Lies! Deception! Seduction of the most odorous form! But you do not grow angry, even as dreams of what you may earn under their thrall, the release of this pain, and the gifts they would give if you would simply kneel and submit yourself to them. No, they did not deserve anger. Showing even quiet disdain towards them would be giving these abominations born of emotional excrement too great of regard. Instead, you swallow this emotion, and all others. They are constructs of passion. Their essence is the same darkness that looks in all men's hearts. To feel in consideration for them or their efforts or their crimes, would only feed them and cement their existence. No. To rebel against their will, you must give them nothing. Not scorn. Not love. Not grief. Not sorrow. Not fear. Not even the seething hatred you wielded against their pawns and slaves.Sie Nie, Jian Qi, Na Gou, Kong Nue, Chun Qiang. These siblings in malignancy, this family of immorality, shall receive nothing from you.Nothing except Apathy. More painful than any form of hatred or spite. Cold inconsideration. To worsen to insult, you turn your attention away from them, and focus inwards. In the void of detachment they helped build inside of you, you find tranquility. Separated from the corporeal, you've left the pain of life behind in a different plane. You have freed yourself from the confines of flesh, the prison of mortality. The four spirits, more vile and wicked than any other, though they attack your soul, afflict your mind, and destroy your flesh, can no longer harm you. They can reach and influence all levels of reality, every world, every plane, every realm. But they cannot reach where you have gone. And that is Nothing.Meditation. The ability to erase all feeling, all thought. Is a skill you have honed beyond mastery. In this calm sea of nothing, your essence is free to indulge in the comforts of the true void. Cont
>>4966666The relief of waking death, the emptiness of sensation and experience. If you allowed yourself to, perhaps you would reach enlightenment. True and total enlightenment. But, you yet hold worldly desires and yearnings. As such, the material or rather unmaterial world is still perceptible to your sense even if your "Self" no longer interacts with it in any fashion. And beyond nothing. You can still hear the gentle light's crying. The whimpers of a broken spirit. Of an abused woman. of a beaten child. You emotions rouse themselves, and as you gaze into the abyss of your soul's depths it speaks to you once more. As it did when you sat in silence after Yin Aiguo's defeat. But it speaks in a different tone, a different voice. Yet it remains your own. It tells you, shows to you, reminds you that defiance and resistance are meaningless if one abandons their virtue to carry them out.Someone is crying before you. That is utterly intolerable.Willingly, you return from Nothing and accept the pain of life. The weight of mortality bears down on you, and once more you become aware of the true height of agony the devils inflict upon you. The affliction is worsened, for now you accept all of it into yourself without struggle.Without fighting back, you passively absorb all of the torments brought against you. They must be accepted, and endured, for like any other pain, they are a part of existence. A component of living. An unavoidable truth that should be embraced rather than avoided and denounced. To live is to suffer, but that is not all there is to life. And to complete your work and fulfill your duty you must survive. And thus you must suffer. And accept suffering with open arms- Magnus couldn't think straight. His mind had always been well within his controlled, his passions balanced by reason and tranquil thought. The mind of a scholar, a researcher. The perspective and worldview of a knowledge seeker, that which was required to learn all there is to discover, even that which other more closeminded men would decry as dangerous or forbidden. He was no automaton , but he had never been controlled by his heart. Its feelings were merely counterbalanced within him by logic and cold reason. He was not one to give into fancy, or superstition, though he was an idealist and considered himself generally genial in nature. But now, now a black rage had possessed him. He had felt anger many times before. When he witnessed the perpetual suffering of his fellow Prosperans endured while they were still predated upon by the foul Psychneuein. He felt an uplifting sense of fury when he led his fellows against the scourge, bearing fruits from his lonely pilgrimage. Even the irritation he felt when cautioned by Amon or Lieren was a miniscule expression of anger. But never before had he experienced the emotion so vividly. He had lost grip of himself, of his sense of reason, and became consumed by a potent mixture of bloodlust and sorrow. Cont
>>4966667Fear controlled his mind to violent ends, guiding his limbs as though he were a primitive string controlled Marionette. He did not seek answers, but only the destruction of the being that stood between him and his brother. No mystery or curiosity could pull him away from this quest, nor could any danger or risk of his annihilation. He did not know where he was, what it was he fought, or even what assailed his gentle hearted brother so viscously. All he needed to know, was how much force was required to break the winged being that challenged him and kept him from his wailing brothers side. That prevented him from saving his kin! It was a feral, almost animalistic urge that drove his body forward, without the guidance of his vast intellect and the honed mind that kept it.He had no desire to know the nature of the entity, with skin as black as ink, and a face like a canids' stripped skull. Nor did he pause to consider the method of the transfiguration of its obviously psionically empowered blade, or the forces and psychic or sorcerous laws that allowed such a transformation to transpire seamlessly. All the red giant of prospero wished or wanted, was to rip the sneering head from the creature before him, so he would be unhindered in his efforts to rescue his brother from the energies the assailed him. In the back of his mind, beneath the blind animalistic anger that drove him forward, Magnus knew that the forces that surrounded his brothers were controlled and far more potent than anything a mere mortal channeler or entity native to the warp as he knew them could harness let alone muster.Lieren's warnings and tall tales rose in his mind, further deepening his rage. His pride bowed before it, nearly snapping as he for himself saw the dangers that his brother had cautioned him of, and tried to teach him to avoid. Yes, he saw them, murdering his brother! Kind, understanding Lieren! Bleeding and burning before his eyes.He did not dwell on if he still lived, only if he could reach him. Bolts of the pure essence of the raw force of physicals might, of electricity redefined and perfected, of flames mutated into new forms, of winds carrying diseases and the stench of decay fell on his brothers back. Each lance of energy tearing not only into his flesh, but his soul. His back shuddered and twitched as it blackened. In his fear a voice whispered, in his own voice. Was it his own voice? His subconscious mind offering a solution to his plight Just out of reach...just out of reach. A little more power...a little more skill and you could save him from his fate. All you must do, is accept the power you let lack Magnus, caught the wrist of the outwardly demonic aggressor, and for a second in his desperation nearly subconsciously accepted the implied offer of outward assistance. >>4966670Until memory of Lieren's story of the Beguiler of dynasties rose from the depths of his clouded mind, his aged student's voice echoing through the emptied halls of his consciousness ""But rather, she preyed upon the valorous and noble. Men with the wills to stand against the world and fight for their beliefs. Founders of dynasties, heroic warlords and cunning scholars. Men who changed the world by their force of personality and charisma" Lieren's hateful voice growled beneath the smothering rage that had so deeply consumed him.And for the first time in his life, Magnus hesitated when presented knowledge, when offered power.Instead, the teachings of the mysterious five elemental cycle his brother had studied, the "Wuxing" returned to him.And Magnus calmed briefly but long enough to recall the interactions of the elements, how they could empower, weaken and destroy if properly wielded. Qi. The term of the Long Jia's people for the energies of the warp. Or was it? perhaps, it was a different form of those forces or something less tangible. Something unknown."Earth bears metal" he said, as the entity bearing all the similarities of a devil from misled superstition smiled hatefully, and sneered"What is that you've said, pawn?" He spoke, with a voice like Amon's own."How dare you" Magnus hissed, as he realized he was surrounded by earth in the form of stone "How dare you endanger my blood! How dare you mock my mentor! I will see you obliterated! Whatever you are or claim to be!""I would like to see you try, arrogant fool of a" The devil, for that is all he could be, condecendedMagnus pulled the head of his brother's polearm to himself, and focused on its ambient energy, beyond the psychic and emotion imprints left within it by its owner and forger. And then, he connected them to the energy of the stone that surrounded him.To his astonishment, but not surprise the two began to coexist. The energy within the stone feeding that within the blade. With a flick of his wrist, the "Qi activated" blade caught the enchanted blade of the black devil, as he swung it to take his head."Impossible" His foe hissed as he struggled to overcome Magnus' psionically magnified strength"The words of a closeminded fool" Magnus growled, eyes falling on his brother. His heart rose in his chest, filling with hope as he say Lieren stand, beneath the storm of pure, undiluted destruction. And saw the golden fire surrounding his soul reignite. Harnessing the swell of emotion, Magnus began his assault against the "wicked spirit" that still foolishly stood between him and his gravely wounded brother.-https://youtu.be/9k1F3PjY948You stood to your full height, and ignoring the forces bearing down on you, far stronger than anything you could muster or overcome yourself, you began to bleed your essence into the cage. Guiding the light of your soul, the golden aura of the burning sea it had become, you reached out to trapped light.Cont
>>4966673And sought to heal it, by giving up you own life energy as embodied by the ever burning fire of your will and soul to it. The assault paused for a moment, and then began again with renewed ferocity. Four voices cried out in indignation and contempt. So you'll save those pests the trouble and destroy yourself "Chun Qiang, you name yourself the master of paradoxes" You whispered hoarsely, as you felt your consciousness drift away as you expended your life selflessly for another "So you of all beings should be aware"Clenching your jaw, you felt your sense of self and sensation of being alive renewed as the flames of your soul fed upon their destruction and flourished once more!" The cycle is without end and beginning!" You roared as all of the so called gods fell silent Oh you're mad! hahaha! Even you cannot mend a god! No matter how brilliant your essence burnsThe light in the cage devoured your fire, took it into herself, but your soul was a source that could not be run dry! A endless spring of life and hope!"WETHER IT IS UNTAINABLE MATTERS NOT! I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN STEP AWAY FROM MY CHOSEN PATH" You roared, challenging the heavens and all of their inhabitants "IF I MUST BURN TO NOTHING TO EASE ANOTHER'S SUFFERING, THAN SO BE IT!"You fell to your knees, golden flames spewing from your withering skin as you felt yourself weaken. All you had was expended."Lieren? Lieren? Lieren?!" Kanzeon cried into your mind as you struggled to stay the course. All that remained was the love you felt, for all of mankind. For existence itself. You closed your eyes and bowed you head, accepting the fate you had chosen for yourself welcoming the blanket of death that was soon to fall upon you.But it never came. The crying stopped, and though weakened and on the verge of death, you heard a voice whisper "Thank you"The gentle light washed over you, as your fire was no longer smothered and fed upon. Well, you've proven me wrong, Lieren of Nothing. How...unexpected The silver white radiance grew, illuminating you as the crystal bars beneath your hands vibrated. A face greeted you from the mists of the cage. The gentle light of order, now streaked gold by the energy you gave to her.Exhausted, you remained kneeling before her cage, kept from collapsing because you still held firmly to it.A hand marred by glowing golden fractures and scars, reaches from the cage to caress your cheek. So, she was to meek too allow you to burn your soul to nothing but cinders and ash. So be it. So be it! I will finish what you yourself started NO! We can still claim his soul, you witless fool! Cont

>>4966675>Allow the gentle light to touch your cheek
>>4966674Oh and Malal had BETTER consider throwing in a few more "Gifts" for all the bullshit we are pulling off.We are besting his every test, So I expect some involuntary reward for pissing of Khorne so much. Also YAY, MAGNUS LEARNED A THING!
>>4966710I don't know, we took quite the beating against goatboy and needed Manus to save our ass.But should we even take any blessing from him? The eye is ours because it always were with us, but taking more feels wrong, even if it comes with bo strings attached.
>>4966715Lieren would outright refuse it, I'm almost certain.Which is why I say "Involuntary", ie an upgrade we have no IC say in.As for taking a beating and Magnus interfering, he said it himself that was a pre-test to see if we were worthy to take on heaven shattering amounts of agony.

>>4966905And another one, couldn't decided which was less bad.
>>4966675>Allow the gentle light to touch your cheek>Wipe your hand with blood, and utilize the Qi of water to defend yourself from the lord of blood's furious assault, channeling the light of the caged order to further empower your "Shield"I'm assuming Lieren is smart enough to try to evade and deflect Khorne's blow as much as possible, possibly using its force to fling himself and the caged god away from it at the same time its pushing against them.In other news Magnus proved Wuxing stronk, seems the Be'lakor fight would have been much easier if we actually used the elemental cycles.I'm pretty sure Arianka is truly benevolent at this point, Lieren's eyes see through even the big fours illusions despite the cost so they would tell him if she had any nasty aspects like the other two law gods did in fantasy. She isn't going to kill or cripple herself helping Lieren if possible, that would invalidate the whole point of him helping her, and her help wont have any strings attached.
God fucking dammit, I know this probably isn't something bad, but I can't help but think that us letting her touch us is a bad idea, what if she turns us into her champion or some bullshit like that! What if she taints us to the path of absolute order and has us commit atrocities in the name of "order"There's also that tenet of the journey that says don't do shit for a reward.I know I'm just being paranoid but I've been watching a lot of 40k lore videos and I don't trust fucking anything anymore
>>4967071>I know I'm just being paranoidJust remind yourself that Malal has repeatedly told us he doesn't do trick options. If Lieren is ever to get fucked over, it'll be because we want him to.

I have to say as much as I love the quest I think at this point after going against the gods we aren't going to have any real challenge uniting ShangralaI'm really hoping for our meeting with the Emperor and getting out in the wider cosmos to track down the rest of our brothers
>>4966675>>Turn away from the gentle light, she has no need to repay your for your generosity>>Wipe your hand with blood, and utilize the Qi of water to defend yourself from the lord of blood's furious assault, channeling the light of the caged order to further empower your "Shield"

>>4967326The best parts of the quest to me have been the interaction with Magnus and seeing his take on Listen, that and the brief snippets we get of the Emperor and the 2nd legion.Canon for whatever it's worth says Lieren is found 3rd after Horus and Russ. >>4966792I'm gonna amend my prior vote with the addition that we try to; > Channel Reality Flickers Before the Approaching Storm (Harmony)I think that'll improve our defense against That Big Red Cunt while allowing us to be touched by Arianka.
So, if this new/old deity of Order, this being of hope yet shining in stoic defiance of darkness and evil, becomes more than an extremely niche being of worship...do you think she'll be the patron goddess of Guardsmen and lost souls (like mutants who didn't sell themselves to Chaos)? She could even become the beloved idol of the Tiger children. After all, just as every despicable act gives strength to the Ruinous Powers, every selfless deed and virtuous heart should bolster her own divine core.> If the Emperor's relentless light is an impossible celestial heat that purges the wicked, she might be the gentle morning sun which rejuvenates and renews all beneath it's nurturing auspice.

>>4967592Lorgar's pod was in the warp for much longer than any of the other primarchs. As a result, he got mindraped much more thoroughly. I don't think there's any saving him.
>>4967551>>4967556>>4967592We still need to find Alluminas and Solkan. The former is pure light and has an alien mindset, but is arquably the strongest against chaos, while the latter is a bit too purge happy, but should respect Lieren's actions so far.
>>4967598as much fun it is to shit on him, it is a shame that there is no saving him.
Wait, Khorne intends to punch us right. What if we moved out of the way, so his fist struck the cage, potentially breaking it.
>>4967614Seems he is going to use fire to burn our soul away, that's why the vote is to use water.Trying to dodge is just going to incinerate Arianka after we healed her.
>>4967598His problem isn't he's unsalvagable. It's the existence of Kor Pharon and Erebus and that Lorgar refuses to take responsibility. Fix all of that and he'll function as the Emperor intended.
>>4967601I'm torn between getting the fuck out of this hellscape ASAP and turning over every retconned stone so we don't miss any neat shit. I hope Be'Lakor didn't kill the only fimir here, I'd like to find a planet of them during the Crusade. And I wanna see if Hoec and Gea are here. And Illiyan Nastase. And the Rainbow Warriors. And the Dark Angel's native american motifs. And Kaleb Daark and the Dreadaxe. Bunch of stuff, really.>>4967607Saving all of our brothers from Chaos would make for a boring Heresy. There's gotta be some conflict. The Xenocides should be fun though.
>>4967620Fair enough.
>>4967601> 10-1 Solkan is somehow involved in the Rangdan Genocide or maybe empowering cavemen to fight fucking Rak'gol out in the Ghoul Stars.> Meanwhile Alluminas is caught in a cycle of hibernation and struggle as it contends with a fat piece of the Nightbringer. It's definitely going to be interesting how exactly Lieren compares to his brothers after all of this. >>4967627Wouldn't be surprised if Big E swears us to secrecy and/or has us fight by his side in secret for a few years like he did with Vulkan.
>>4967630It would certainly be neat to have Lieren and Vulkan working together; aside from Perpetual nonsense and mutual hatred for the Drukhari, they both have complimenting temperaments. >>4967933Thing is water also shits up fire just as well as earth does, so this is perfectly acceptable.
>>4967933Something Something warp bullshit, something something we believe it works therefore it does, something something malal is really into shitty chinese novels, don't think about it too hard

>>4967947I'd say its a guilty pleasure, but that'd imply shame in my enjoyment
>>4967942>Everything seemingly leads to everything else. That's the point.
>>4967956Hey Malal, is there any good wuxia novels to get into, or just look on amazon under Wuxia?
>>4967999First rule: popular does not mean good. One of the best xianxia novels (Reverend Insanity) got banned by the CCP.
>>4968005So why was it banned? Too popular, or did it ref something that was also banned? I thought there was a cult following for wuxia?
>>4968005Porbably because everything that is good is banned by the CCP.But yeah, the popular ones are like isekai anime tier, copy-pasted stories that drag forever and pull shit out of their. Atleast more than the other ones.
>>4968012Because the protag acted like and actual psycopath evaulating each option by their qorth, and commiting crimes against humanity while making propaganda about him being a good man, instead of doing crimes while the world bent around it and proclaimed it was justified. It might have hit too close to home to Winnie the Poo.
>>4968005i will never not get mad reverend insanity got the ending it did, such a disservice to the rest of the series.
I mean saying something is banned by the ccp is just gonna make people curious. How many chapters are there? I'd hate to start it only to find it has like 20 chapters. I'm still hurting from Cupanon disappearing, I miss the Warning The Emperor story he had going.
>>4968012Let me give you an idea of how ass backwards China can be.When Kung Fu Panda came out and became a global sensation, especially China, Chinese filmmakers started asking why they weren't first ones to make something like this. See in China wuxia media is so common to the point that the Chinese rarely comsume any that isn't some derivative of wuxia, which is how gun-fu came about, John Woo wanted to make a mobster crime drama so he slap on wuxia tropes to make it sell. As a matter of fact Kung Fu Panda is standard wuxia fair. What they found was the CCP is stupidly restrictive to the point China has no chance of achieving media dominance over the world. Nothing is allowed to "misrepresent" China or the CCP thus must be carefully vetted before being globally released. Hell not even Tencent is safe from Chinese bureaucracy since they lost dominance on the computer industry to Taiwan because of it.That should tell you how fucked China is.
https://youtu.be/jedFvpziGqoThe ribbon streams of moonlight issuing forth from the gap within the crystal cage wrap around the fragile hand that reaches through the same gap. The gentle light is cautious, unsure, but the gesture is a reassuring one. A show of gratitude for your supremely selfless action and concern for your well being. But, the spirit of order's movements remain weak and frightened. Yet, despite the dread the lords of hell have forced her to wallow within since a time before time even flowed, she still reaches for you even if the show of brace defiance may worsen her torments or even bring about the utter obliteration of her essence. The light is cool, yet comforting. A autumn night's winds. The lakeside of calm waters. The smile of the thankful and indebted. You bow your head closer to the cage, unable to move much further. The weight of the wounds you bear, self inflicted or otherwise upon flesh and spirit, disallows anything more complicated and labors movements even as simple as inclining the head."You idiot! What do you think you were doing! That was...incredibly irresponsible!" Kanzeon says, trying to scold you but her relief and joyous sorrow overpowers the biting tone she means to impart "By all calculations of probability, that actions would have only endangered yourself if not completely terminated your existence! How could you so easily risk your life, you idiot!"You can tell she's concerned, though that would be obvious to any who heard her voice. She's crying. You can almost feel her tears upon your cheeks once again. With tired eyes, you look into the maiden of frost, locked still within her cyclopean prison of glass and living gemstones. For a moment, your mind plays a trick on you, and you see first Kanzeon and then Luli, and then Meixiu in her place. She tilts her head to the side, a smile parting her pale white lips as she manages to reach her hand beyond the bounds of her confinement. Her tears have frozen to her snow whitened cheeks, alternating between polished silver and molten gold. Her finger tips brush against your bleeding cheek. The flesh has sunken in there, and the skin has become taught and dried. Above your head, you can feel the storm summoned by Kong Nue's overwhelming bloodlust and blazing rage. It approaches, with the presence of a war's arrival, the herald of unavoidable unavertable doom and tragedy. The war cry of the father of battle itself. The carrion call of murdered souls and worlds put to the sword in slaughter. The familiar taste of blood dances upon your blood, oozing into your skin as the aroma nearly makes you drunk upon the heady adrenaline born in the midst of deadly fight. Against your will, your lips peel back into a murderous sneer, bearing your teeth like the fangs of an animal. The air itself has become charged with concentrated killing intent.Cont
>>4968047And then, like oil lit a flame by a spark, the will of the lord of blood coalesces into a singular point, and ignites into a carmine flame woven of boiling blood and the howls of the battle maddened! Wordlessly, the gentle maiden of the comforting light, gives you permission to take from her the very energy you mended within her.Healing and empowering that which did the same for her. An exchange of Qi, and life force. Though your body and soul remain battered and weak, the touch of her hand upon her cheek and the view of the light the core of her essence generates is enough to start the wheels in your minds turning once again. There is not even a moment to conceive and carry out your plan, but you're able to accomplish that none the less.Employing the inter-regulating and overcoming cycles of the Wuxing, you place your hand over hers and gently brush past its ghostly flesh, to wipe the blood from your cheek to coat your hand. It stands to reason, in a place ruled by paradox and raw chaos, that which empowers a force can be turned against it. Blood, holds a variety of the Qi of water and life within it. Though among the folk traditions of Shangrala, it would be considered a malignant force, the tool of vile sorcerers, blood itself has no negative qualities. In fact, it embodies only the beneficial. When stripped of superstition and the connotations forced upon it by the human psyche, blood is only good. It carries the essence of life itself, and binds families together with bonds deeper than any other. It roils with the building blocks of life. So, to the contrary of the barbarity that Kong Nue embodies and what most men associate with blood, the substance itself harbors no evil. All it holds is life.Like water itself. Both can freeze, and harden sturdier than steel under the right conditions. Conditions you can will into being. You cannot flee, or stand, your legs have failed you and you lack the energy to do so even if you had the will to. You cannot turn in strike, for your arms ache and prickle with unseen pins and nails. Looking upwards, you briefly see the hound like face of the enraged spirit, within the black and crimson flames he calls upon you.Raising you hand, you focus what energy you can yet bring to bear, and channel through it the essence of the order mended. With a furious narrowing of your eyes, your forced sneer breaks into a snarl of stubborn defiance. Hair whipping upon the swells of corpse fires summoned by Kong Nue, you stare into his image's eyes. The blood springs from your hand, as if it had come to possess a life of its own. It twirls around itself, forming an arrow in the center of your palm that swiftly expands into a half formless spear of the scarlet water. The spear head breaks, spilling itself to spread in the air. A curved shield forges itself above your head, and the cage you still hold with your right most hand.Cont
Silver and gold crawl over the crimson pillars rising from the lines of your palm, like winter's morning frost. More blood flows into the spring formed in your hand, feeding into the shield. Like a web of disembodied veins, the currents of still warm blood bulges and shudders with the exchanging and interlinking of its disparate currentsEthereal waters, colored as moonlight and the warm hues of a setting sun, run through these "veins", strengthening and further filling the shield they combine to form. Like snow spotted with blood and the rays of the sun, the three forces merge into a greater whole. The geyser shield holds against the rage of the blood god for much longer than it would if you formed it without the aid of the gentle light. For moments that seem like centuries, you stare into the visage of murderous rage incarnate, bowed by the raw killing intent and inhuman fury that it brings to bear against you in the form of vivid red and deep onyx flames. The pressure increases, the fires roar and grow to surround you. Like claws, fangs, and pitted blades, they dig into the sides of the shield protecting you and the light of hope from the rage summoned forth by a lord of hell itself.Tongues of black flame, tendrils of carmine flame, lances of molten brass all fall against your spiritual defense. It holds, shuddering and quaking, but it holds all the same. But, it cannot endure the assault much longer. For even if the being that aids you was once his equal, Kong Nue's strength is boundless. All that can be done, is to hope the power of your combined forces is enough to outlast his assault long enough until one of his so called "Siblings" interferes. If they stand idle, there is no escape and all that awaits you is an fiery execution. A funeral pyre amidst the tombs of the forgotten. However, just resisting Kong Nue, is a victory in of itself, judging from the ever rising anger in the eyes of his image writ in flames, he expected you to die the moment he brought summoned the forces you now guard against. You grin mockingly, beneath your "cracked" bulwark. The energy and essences that form it, burns and becomes tainted by Kong Nue's own. It sickens and battles against itself, turning against you.Soon, it will shatter and then you'll be consumed by a column of fire that burns with the heat of the fires of hell. And then, the unexpected happens. A new Qi reinforces the bulwark made of blood. The Qi of metal. And in turn, as Metal collects water, the shield is bolstered greatly enough to endure a few moments more! It stands! It stands as Magnus adds his own energy to the effort, while still matched against the Be'lakor in single combat! Truly your brother's might and prowess in the field of psykerism far surpasses your own. But, even the three of you, the golden eyed giant of Shangrala, The red skinned Giant of Prospero, and the trapped light of hope cannot withstand the direct attention and wrath of a being as powerful as Kong Nue!
>>4968056With death quickly approaching, you sigh and rise to your feet, to show your enemy the folly of his ways by defiance alone. But then, as the wall of blood, moonlit frost, and the very sands of Prospero splinters down the middle, a second unexpected occurrence arrives.Guozhi's staff, coated in the ice that characterize the techniques of the wardens of mysteries sect, pierces through the veil between worlds. Wrapped in dozens of null denouncement charms, carved of a queer bone like material that equals or even surpasses the metal that makes up Kanzeon's body, the staff carved from burnt wood embeds itself into the crack forming in the combined bulwark.Magnus, with his peerless mastery of manipulating the energies of the Empyrean, guides his own power to expand the Qi imparted by Guozhi's improbable interfere. And as his essence is added to the shields mass, a sixth completely alien essence spills into it as well. Tiny golden flames line the edges of the shield, as you realize Guozhi conducts what power the Wanderers in the Fog disciples posses to reinforce it, following the odd white flame that dances along the edges and cracks made into the wall by the sheer force of Kong Nue's assault. And, the moment the white light meets the brightest of the miniscule golden flames, the shield freezes solid. A mingling of Water and Metal, Heaven and Man, has over come the flames of slaughter long enough for the other master of chaos to interfere and draw Kong Nue's attention away from you.At the very moment his attention is divided, the shield shatters and the gentle glow of moonlight wards off what flames remain. Through unity, the wild assault upon your body and soul was weathered and endured. You collapse on your back, gravely wounded and too exhausted to muster the energy to stand any for a second longer. And then, the shadow of great wings falls over you."STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" Kanzeon wails as Be'lakor strides through of storm of emerald lightning and orbs of superheated plasmaWith a determined glint in his eye, he raises his blade, one of side of his body skinned to the bone by one of Magnus attacks. You see your Brother, beneath a collapsed pillar that is already in the process of being obliterated by his strength. He rises to his feet, levitating as he moves to charge the cowardly first of the fallen, who strikes at you when you are unable to defend against his attack. Be'lakor sneers maliciously, licking his teeth almost hungrily as he brings his viper blade down and.Finds it split into two from tip to hilt, as a force greater than himself or the caged light emerges accompanied by a vanguard of gilded spirits. By the intensity of the burning sensation alone, you recognize the brilliant figure before you, dressed in resplendent regalia of a gold that surpasses your own soul's fire in magnificence a thousand fold. Magnus is able to speak what you realize.Cont

Just realized that the elements of Heaven and Man were mentioned, and last update Lieren talked about achieving enlinghtment. It means Malal is using confucionism, taoism, budhism and folklore. Yin, Yang, the tree elements, wuxing and nirvana together plus whatever divine blessing should allow for pulling a lot more crazy bullshit in the future.
>>4968119>Slaanesh is here you know. You do remember that part right?Very well. But I'd assume that she knew that too and didn't do the equivalent of throwing herself into a cum-filled wheat thresher knowingly.
>>4968126Future sight is a thing you know.
>>4968117Fortunately lieren seems to be decent enough provided we aren't stupid enough to tell the emps about our robo waifu, cause that might get us purged.
>>4968122Well I've been thinking that it should be possible to develop beneficial mutation using cultivation. You know stuff like the golden eyes of truth, machine spirit communication, manipulation of the winds of fate. Those are abilites we can develop.

But beside that, no Lieren is very very prudent. He was more interested in investigation than a fight in the hells. Of course he expected something that could go wrong, but probably not like this.>>4967298I wouldn t be so sure that they would be easy. Lieren received some help in this fight. Neither Kamal or Nitya are "common" or "average" foes.Personally i find this part very interesting, since it s the one where we can think and create anything we like, as well creating a solid foundation for both Lieren and Shangrila peoples, which will be relevant in the future. We can do that even in the rest of the quest, but honestly not so much when it wil be part of the imperium. Beside the fact we will likely have more stuff to think about.
This is going to lead to a very different Nikaea Very different
>>4968742I am glad you believe that.Because it wont. Nikea was to satisfy the anti warp primarchs, not because of the real and tangible benefits the closure of the libraries would achieve.
>>4968772Even then it's going to be different, with Magnus a bit more calm he should be less combatative of the idea of a librarium, so perhaps he would be willing to compromise, and with Lieren's experiences with the sect, it could lead to a librarium that is a bit more balanced between power and restraint.
>>4968791The librarians are already big about balance and restraint. You forget the Khan and Sanguinius had a hand in the formation of librarians instead of just magnus. But by mortorian and Russ, they leveraged a massive hateboner and Russ supplied testimonies of his wolf priests that all of the thousand sons were daemon worshipping and craven sorcerers with zero redeeming graces, which had the emperor justify by ruling in their favour. So unless we change the verdict, ie stop him from passing condementation on the librarian issue, nothing at all will change.
>>4968815Hey, I said more, not that they weren't in the first place. Because Lieren will definatly vote in favour of one, just structured differently. After all, the moment he tried taking Magnus advice and trying to do things a bit more radical, he revived a fifth chaos god.Actually, with Magnus a bit wisened up to the tricks of the warp, maybe the space wolves hatred for the thousands sons will be lessened. Or not, Russ was quite an asshole and so was his legion, umyou don't get to be the emperor's executioner withou a reason, no matter how.much GW triea to.make them some sort of misunderstood champions of good nowadays.
>>4968060>Cry, overwhelmed by emotion from meeting your father, even if it is only within the astral planeWe should plead to papa E to end Be'lakor's existence. >>4968818Russ isn't WRONG to be incredibly wary of the warp. He also isn't wrong to not like how reckless magnus is. He and his legion ARE assholes. And their dislike of eachother won't go away, due to the inherent problem of "your psykers are all witches, while my psykers get their powers from the spirit of fenris and only my people have the inherent connection of the land to draw on that spirit, so only my psykers are not bad".God russ' religious views are annoying.
>>4968964Leiren's wuxing array concept will turn them into 3 buddies. And because of this, Magnus and Russ will be allies if not friends. Also since Magnus got to fight Daemons first, Russ will end up respecting him for it.
>>4969028I see it as having Russ go from hostile to tolerant towards Magnus....an improvement all things considering.

Alright, here are the gifts I've thought up for our brothers.>FulgrimA gongfu tea set, made in the wabi-sabi style out of psychically-attuned clay. It’s style of artifice embodying the acceptance and beauty of what is incomplete or imperfect, the use of this tea set is intended to be a meditative experience. The material used in its construction only further aids in this use.>PerturaboA massive, self-adapting puzzlebox inhabited by a shackled AI. It cannot be solved the same way twice and the solver must complete 32 (4 x 8, unlucky made lucky) different puzzles. Inside is a deed to surveyed lake or riverside land on Shangrala, set aside to become the site of a new city. AI offs itself when beaten.>Jaghatai KhanMastercrafted psyber-hawk grown from Shangralan stock. Adamantine talons and beak, 3rd eye replaced with a mastercrafted lasweapon, voice box spliced with cloned human vocal cords so Jaghatai may speak through it. Can easily gap a peregrine falcon in a controlled dive. >Rogal DornA beautifully-crafted Go board featuring a shackled AI opponent for single-player mode. As there are more legal board positions than there are atoms in the universe, it is the perfect lesson in outside-of-the-box thinking. Note the similarities to Perturabo’s gift and wonder. The pieces are made of black and white jade.>Konrad CurzeA set of scales with a set of psychic weights that each correspond to a different crime. When weighed against the blood of the accused, the weights will be lighter if innocent, and heavier if guilty. The heavier the weight is, the more severe the punishment recommended.>SanguiniusPure-gold circlet intended to grant the wearer increased psychic control and potency. Levitates over the wearer’s head (like a halo) and glows when active psychic powers are used. Can be thrown like a chakram.>AngronA sweeping bas-relief depicting Angron’s early life, years as a gladiator, uprising, and an idealized result of his rebellion, a world in which no child is born in bondage and will never be forced to kill their kin. Made of psychically-active metal which induces a feeling of hopefulness and calm whenever viewed.>MagnusA scholar’s rock shot through with veins of the warpstone from Vipul’s cave/Kanzeon’s crash site. Serves as a curiosity, object of meditation, and reminder of the fate of those who think to deal with Empyrean intelligences.>VulkanA highly-advanced battle automata built to resemble a dragon of old Terran myth. Actually a simple AI, primitive compared to Kanzeon, but still sentient and self-aware, albeit bestial. Flies, breathes fire (or melta), has facial recognition software that prevents it from being used against humanoid children.
>>4969537I had an idea for Lion, but it was just an Arthurian myth reference and didn't address is crippling autism and lack of trust. Anyway, critique and suggest your own ideas, especially for the ones that don't have any.
>>4969537No shackled A.I.s anon, Kanzeon already is foing to be difficult to hide without creating new ones and handing them to people.>>4969542How about a panther fur, preferably one of the first ones we hunted? >>4969568Do we even have any of the furs from that era?I guess we might be able to track down one or two of the skins we gave to Tax Collector Ling way back when.I'm sure a few were redistributed after Gao was executed, and I imagine their owners would be knowledgeable of their history.
>>4969568>No shackled A.I.s anon, Kanzeon already is foing to be difficult to hide without creating new ones and handing them to people.Cawl hides one in plain sight. The problem with Kanzeon is that she's a whole ship/primarch-sized person.>>4969572Resources maybe, knowledge no. Kanzeon fills that niche, as she's a DAoT relic. >>4969587That goes without saying. Brotherly love and support are salves to almost any wound. As far as trinkets go though, I'd get him some Primarch sized Baoding balls Specifically ones made of Adamantium so he doesn't crush them when he has an episode.
>>4969574I was betting that perhaps weynam or someone on Nothing would have one and would be willing to trade. But maybe the effort of tracking down one of the old furs would add a bit more sentimental value to the gift too.
>>4969587>We will provide succor to him and his brethren.Inshallah this event will come to pass, brother. But if it doesn't, I thought he'd want to feel something other than anger from time to time.
I'm starting to wonder how much time has passed on the Material realm. At least long enough for Gouzhi and the others to find us (both physically and spiritually). Last time we ventured away and saw Big E after an intense fight and passed out for 3 weeks. This shit is 10000X worse, I wouldn't be surprised if we get back and find the Jinhai has finished fighting the wars and a lot of people died without us there to help fight them. But hey, in the meantime we awoken the greatest evil in the galaxy and got a major powerup for it....so there's that.
The best gift we can give to Lorgar would be a collection of teachings and the risks and predators of the warp. That and a mission to free trapped warp deitys not for worship or veneration. But for reflection and understanding. Each species, each god is the collection of a species's best and worst qualities. He shall understand this and realize that while the gods ARE worth worshiping, they aren't inffalible or all knowing. They are just like us. Beings who struggle against a cruel universe, and that each hand is necessary to resist it and to make a brighter tomorrow. Where our brothers build machines, weapons and cities. Lorgar shall build The Pantheon.Where all our gifts and powers strive to bring a limited future where we survive and thrive against enemies that have no end. That are infinite as the emotions and suffering powering them.Lorgar shall be the one to bring a hope for a galaxy that is no longer in eternal war. Where all its infinite disagreements and conflict are made better by faith. It's edges trimmed of betrayal and false hope. Its temptations exchanged for selfless desire to help all.Its wars replaced by dialogue and its despair overcome at every turn by iron will and burning faith. It is a task impossible for man and god. But it is the only task he would find true excellence at Beyond all his brothers and even his father. Even armed with just his meager talents (meager compared to Horus, Guiliman, Dorn....etc.)He shall be the least. Yet he shall be trusted by the most. By both god and man. that their shared future welcome the present and not feast upon it.
>>4969706>He shall understand this and realize that while the gods ARE worth worshiping, they aren't inffalible or all knowingNo, fuck no, hell no, never ever, uh-uh, zip it, never gonna happen, no way Jose, bipitiboobop suck on my two cocks, not a chance, null and void, rejected, I'd rather brap, positively unbelievably unconditionally no to no no to the hell no no!

It would be interesting to explore.

Either by finding him before the surgery takes place, or intervening in the war against the High Riders/saving his comrades from certain death. So much of Angron's character, and future, are riding on his early years. However, the cowardice of the spirit is little concern to you. As are the wounds you suffered, and the fatigue chewing through your flesh and fevered mind. Even your creator, your "Birth" father's arrival and intervention on your and Magnus' behalf is insignificant, secondary in importance alongside your own wounds and weakness. The only thing that equals your main concern, is Kanzeon's own for your safety and well being and your guilt for inflicting such pain upon her oh so recently mended heart . For it, is similar to what drives you onwards despite the blistering agonies in your muscle and the smothering haze swallowing your mind.Worry. Dread. Guilt. Shame. Fear. The emotions you feel for Kanzeon, resonate with those that now surge through the faltering beating of your heart. The wayward hope that she'll recover and be as she was, content and happy. That concern holds an equal amount of your thoughts to that which entice and empower you to drag your damaged vessel , your wounded body up the narrow steps leading to the casket of Crystal and Ice, and to the cage that floats above it. The bars surrounding the gentle moonlight, have been cracked but not yet sundered. Golden flares and sparks of light spit from the confines of the ancient prison. Your father continues his threats and proclamations, standing protectively between you and Be'lakor and the legions of Monstrosities that have begun to crawl from the grave soil to feast upon the released and yet forgotten prisoners of this hellish manse. Magnus calls out to you, as the sound of crackling fire and snapping thunder shakes the tomb deeper than its foundations reach. A war in the heavens is waged above your heads, shadow and light comingle and battle around you. Sand, feathers, glass, fire, lightning and ice are swept up by the winds that whisper through the once stagnant air. A screeching demonic howl pieces through the cacophony of wails and curses spoken by mummified lips and chattered through bare, bleached skulls. Rivers of molten tallow and pus drip from the ceiling, evaporating on the sun like radiance of your creators' unconcealed essence. Your nails carve alabaster grooves through the black stone, and pitch colored scratches in the white. Battling against the weight of your own flesh, you lift your body and crawl up the caskets side and pull yourself up. Your legs slip under you, as if they were now made of water rather than flesh. But through sheer force of will, you hold yourself and slowly right your posture so it'll be able to support your weight as you kneel before the caged light. Every moment is torture, worse than any you've witnessed. Every atom, every molecule of your living body screams out for an end to suffering, a release from the hell that has become contained within your genetic code. But it is naught but pain. All pain must pass. It can be endured, and you shall endure it. Cont
>>4970769Huffing through your nose, smoke and vapor rise from your lip as you shuffle yourself nearer to incandescent bars of the ancient prison. Sighing, you fall forward and press your face against two of the bars. The shards that drift away from the cracks formed by the intense heat of Kong Nue's rage, dig into your skin but do not cut you. All the words shouted, curses and insults slung, have become static to your ears. Only Kanzeon soft, comforting cooing and your own breathing are perceptible in a form beyond empty noise.Reaching forward, you roll your hand through the fog illuminated by the golden cloaked silver moonlight that gentle glows within the heart of the cage. Narrowing your eyes, you peer deeper, desperately searching for the spirit that was held within the prison. And nearly collapse and faint from sheer relief as you spot her specter, shaking the bars opposite of the ones that you've fallen against. With split between silvery white and burnished gold, the once despairing maiden now actively rages against and tests the durability of her prison. And you can see, upon her body, numerous chains hang, held to each other by heavy locks forged or carved from Brass, shimmering glass, polished silver, and moldering bone. And that her limbs are bound together by white and black jade shackles, that curve like tear drops. Gone are the rags of winter's frost, now they've been replaced by armor forged of golden fire and silver ice, in the style of a Long Jianese general. Like Long Jia Daiyu herself, but the way her short cropped hair is styled reminds you more of Kamakshi, but the fire in her eyes most resembles Tao Dandan. She is unaware of your presence, as she struggles and pulls against the chains that hold her, eyes blazing with cold fire. Until she hears your second sigh, as you struggle to maintain consciousness. Though Your beloved means wells, her attempt at comforting you only serve to lull you closer to a dreamless sleep. You'll have to find a way to apologize to Kanzeon, and the others when you awaken in the material realm. But the soft pattering of bare feet upon glass rouses you alert once more. When your eyes open fully, you find yourself looking into the the maiden light's eyes. It would seem by combining your essence with her broken core, her nature has shifted enough that the raw force of her being no longer hurts to observes and watch. Or perhaps you've simply become adjusted to her presence and the agony it should bring. Perhaps your senses are numbed, overwhelmed by the rigors of the so called "Heavenly Tribulation" You had endured. Her scarred lips part, and she leans to you. Kanzeon's heart bristles, perhaps fearing she intends to steal a kiss, before she alters her course and holds her lips barely an inch from your ear. "Arianka" She whispers, her voice trilled by a light southern Long Jian accent Cont

>>4970773>Discordant Essence>Heart of Tender Moonlight.Ogre's Mask I'm assuming is basically an ugly mug, and Liar's Eye would be that our all-revealing eye is no longer as accurate (or accurate at all). Not confident on the rest, but I can't help but think that each curse dampens one of our key strengths, those being our perceptiveness, charisma, physical might and psychic prowess, in that order. Maybe Time's Burden makes us "older" and less fit to fight physically then before or something. I might be completely wrong though I'm not too sure. As for the bounties, Soul's fire, refined is pretty self explanatory and The Gentle Giant's hateful glare sounds like it'll make our enemies shit themselves 500% harder on sight. >>4970931Could just start wearing a mask.

Well Vessel is what we were described as earlier."A vessel which pours power unto others and is poured into in turn" so I imagine the "Opening" of such would likely entail the expansion of our psychic powers or stamina I assume.Heart of tender moonlight is obviously something to do with Arianka, because she is the moonlight maiden. Defender perhaps. Some form of defensive quality or suffusing our golden light with hard quality.Hateful glare is "killing with stare" probably. While refined soulfire. . . I dunno.

>>4970773>Liar's EyeProbably the only one who'll vote for this, but the narrative implications of it are just to attractive to leave alone. The idea that Leiren would lose that one traits of his, that one power that he has relied on more than any other, would be a massive lose for him especially so early on.If it takes away the ability entirely, or even if it makes it less effective or less reliable, it will mean that he will never again be able to just look into someone's soul to grasp who they are or what their hearts want. he won't be able to 100% see past lies or illusions or fabrications. And I like this because it'll force him to learn how to trust people, truley trust them. With his vision of truth, he would never have to fear of being tricked or lied to, he would be able to know that the person her is putting his lot with is worth the effort. Without it, he will have to truley learn to trust others, to learn how to decide who and when to trust. he likely already knows this, but it'll be different without his eyes giving him a peak behind the curtains. He'll have to hope that his trust will be well placed, hope that those who earn his trust out weigh those who betray it, and hope that the descisions he makes are the right ones. i find this idea of him learning that hope, and losing this primarch power, to be interesting enough narrative wise to vote for.Plus, it'll make him more Human in some measure. I think getting outdone by the first prince of chaos, warrior supreme is entirely fair and our resistance, bearing in mind this fact, is more than commendable. But regardless the "true trial" as the gods say was being hurt a lot, if this was a lie when we didn't die immediately or if it's the truth, I think it was from here that our curse sprung from. So in what manner co-. . Hmm.Much as I hate to say it, I think it was our healing of the god of moonlight which damned us.

It didn t stop it literally passed them. The cuts of the blade where direct at our own body, safe to say that Be'lakor was using something for pass our armor while slashing at us.And in regard to the curse, we saved someone. >>4971110Not even a Xianxia thing. It's purely a warhammer thing viewed through Lieren's eyes. You got bathed in the combined energies of four fucking chaos gods trying to break your will in a gambit to corrupt you, and then endured Khorne attempting to destroy you while he threw a tantrum. In the depths of the warp. Like really deep in thereNow what happens in 40k when someone gets exposed to warp energy, especially a lot of it? Mutation. Which Primarchs are not immune to.Remember how Lieren reacts to any form of Chaos corruption? And How he tends to describe what he sees in an at times overly poetic manner? Its a mutation not a magical curse, though the definition is often blurred in both Warhammers. Its happening because Lieren did not break beneath the full weight of Chaos, and survived the blood god's murder attempt. Lieren didn't block the "tribulation" until Khorne flipped the board after the four were unable to dent Lieren's resolve and tried to heal rather than harm. Its a battle scar, not a punishment. >>4971412>If you guys still want an explanation for the choices, I'll give it.Give now
>>4971412Please explain Malal.
>>4971412Yes for the love of prosperity give us an explanations for the choices.
>>4971422Wenyan is a farmer. He doesn t have a symbol. Do you mean Guozhi by chance ? Or the Wanderers of the Fog or Chen ?
>>4971416>>4971419>>4971425>>4971431Liar's eye. One of Lieren's eyes blackens and becomes to reverse of his other eye, seeing only what is untrue/ false.Ogre's mask. Lieren's body, his face especially becomes more like an ogre in cruel mockery of his well restrained rage. Time's burden: Lieren is supernaturally aged until he appears to be a greatly venerable sage, around Guozhi age. Discordant Essence, Lieren's spiritual energy/ signature becomes discordant and upsets balances and worsen imbalances in the Emperyan's winds. Basically altering the elements around him and within him to different forms/ into conflict. Think of it like him subsuming the vortex of raw discord he devised that woke up Malal. Makes him MORE of a walking paradox.Bounties. These are happening BECAUSE you basically fed yourself to a god of Law, but survived because Paradox soul.Heart of tender moonlight. In healing Arianka and the brief connection between their beings, Lieren has taken some of her "moonlight" into his fire. Which basically means Lieren has access to that "Yin" energy alongside his own "Yang". Soul's fire, refined. Lieren's soul has been wrought and reforged through the trial he's undergone, refining it. Brings harmony to the paradox. The vessel opened. Lieren sometimes refers to his or other's bodies as a "Vessel", he also does it when refer to his soul. This bounty refers to both. In that, his self and body are more separated and that the exchange of energies is more efficient. The Gentle Giant's hateful glare. Lieren has seen to much shit he shouldn't see, that should drive him made, and he's stared at it long and hard. His piercing/burning glaze, is now literal if he focuses hard enough, literally tearing through what he looks at rather than metaphorically. And all of the write ins are valid, but they explain themselves besides a few>>4971420It's fine, I should've explained it better. and Used mutation instead of curse, in particular.
I don't get it when 1 option is a mystery box anons can't vote for it fast enough, but when it's several boxes it's too scary and they have to be demystified.
>>4971447I don't either, desu
>>4971445>The Gentle Giant's hateful glare. Lieren has seen to much shit he shouldn't see, that should drive him made, and he's stared at it long and hard. His piercing/burning glaze, is now literal if he focuses hard enough, literally tearing through what he looks at rather than metaphorically.>can now literally burn holes into people with a stare>only primarch with long ranger hold out lascannon tier eyes>has to wear specially made sunglasses all the times less he destroyed everythingFucking dammit my sides. Become Cyclops holy shit.
>>4971412I would quite appreciate having an explanation for the choices, that way we can all make an informed decision about what we gain and suffer for our blessing and curse.
>>4971449Could we get a extension on the voting time so anons who voted blind will have a chance to come back and change their vote because of the new information available?>>4970773>>4971142I voted for vessel opened as our boon before, changing that to...>Soul's fire, refined.
>>4970773In light of this >>4971445 new information, I am changing my vote >>4970839 to be >Liar's Eye>The Gentle Giant's hateful glare. Both of those sound interesting as hell, and I would love to see them.My ID may have changed because of my internet being bullshit, so I linked my previous post just in case.
Hmmmmm, either devils horns or the guts daemon curse look like the best mutations As for boons, I think either moon or soul refined are best. Vessels makes us into even more of a warp entity than human which I suggest we avoid as much as possible And hateful eyes is just another weapon to kill people with, so not lierens style
>>4970912I change mine to >>4971445>Liar's EyeBut i keep my write in.>Write in The Neverending High Heaven Star of Order and Prosperity
>>4970773>433U5B9lhanging my vote wherever the fuck it is too.>Discordant Essence Or >BountiesAnd for good blessing? >heart of Tender Moonlightor>Sou's fire
>>4971458It'd only be fair to give them a chance to change their choice instead of saying what it is, then a few hours later calling. Which seems like a dick move to me
>>4971098switching to >Soul's fire, refined.
>>4971449Just leave it a mystery next time. Lieren doesn’t know, so we shouldn’t either. Unknowns are rare enough, as 40k is a popular ip. Whatever mysteries you can give us to vote for should stay as such until the vote’s over.
>>4970773In light of Malal's recent explanations;> Time's BurdenAnd> Heart of Tender MoonlightIt would be interesting if the Ogre Mask won though; Lieren could potentially become the patron of all abhumans, beastfolk and mutants who were the otherwise innocent victims of Chaos.>>4971453With the Cloud-Walking technique and the super strength, stamina and endurance of a Primarch, he's fucking Chinese Superman.
>>4971445>Time's burdendo we get the fu manchu mustache and beard? please tell me we get the fu-manchu mustache and beardSoul's fire, refined
>>4970773>devil horns>The Gentle Giant's hateful glare.
>>4971445Changing from>>4971370to >devil hornsTwo horns are now growing upon your forehead, forever reminding you of the shame of your carelessness and your appearance is now closer to the hated devils that you battle againstYou can cut them off and shave them down, but they will always regrow (gradually)>The Gentle Giant's hateful glare.
>>4970825>>4970773Changing to>Devil's Hornsand>The Gentle Giant's hateful glareI apologize for contributing to the nightmarish task of counting up all these votes
>>4971484I don t think it would be enough for become a patron. Most of their mutation aren t just warp by nature, but even chemical and so on. Beside that Lieren would look ugly enough to scare anyone, even mutants i bet. And since he loves kids and people in general, it would be really detrimental for his mind and emotions.Becoming suddenly a very old man is also a very big mental burden, not something you can say "ah just a meditation and it s nothing". And not just for him, but even others.Beside that it also a negative for his legion recruits. At least the other negatives aren t so invasive in his body. This two negatives are the ones that scare me the most for him, because i recon they would hurt his mind/emotions and the ones of others the most. As well his body.
>>4970773>Ogre's MaskSeeing people react to this pissed off looking giant just being a nice guy would be interesting>Heart of Tender MoonlightJust sounds like what Lieren would pick
>>4970773>Time's Burden>Heart of Tender Moonlight.
>>4971505Yeah, people are wanting fu man Choo meme now which is why they're choosing the old man option. They have eyes but do not recognize mount tai! Without the proper time to cultivate life experience lierens appearance as a old Sage is meaningless!
>>4971142>>4971069>>4971445I'm changing to >Bounties/brand of sacrifice>Heart of tender moonlightDo you know how much bullshit we can pull with the acess to an extra element of Yin?And tge bounties just make perfect sense within the narrative of having a piece of law stuck in us.
>>4971546But if I understood it wrong and the bounties are something that will happen no matter what, than my second vote is a combination of ogre+horns, make him look like an oni.
>>4970773>devils horns >heart of tender moonlight >>4971549But anon, magnus already exists;)
>>4971555He is the red oni, we can be the blue one.
>>4970773changing >>4971385 from the vessel opened to >Heart of Tender Moonlight.
>>4971559I just realized that a bunch of hindu gods are blue.>>4971546>The mark of sorceryLike has brother Magnus, Lieren's skin has turned into a unatural shade, in this case an azure blue, with a soft shimmer. If it's not enough of a mutation, it could make Lieren ore sentsitive to the warp, easier to detect or something like that.
>>4971581>the entire heresy is now just one big Red vs. Blue joke
>>4971583You talk like it wasn't before.
>>4971583>>4971585Holy fuck I see it now.
>>4970902I'm changing my vote from here to>Brand of sacrificebut maybe make it an actual brand that someone could recognise, like some weird glowing tattoo or something on our head or the like. >Tender heart of moonlight.>>4971447>>4971449One mystery box is throwing away all your certain options on a gambit which could work or could not. It's willingly choosing to ignore the certain in hopes of something better happening, a gamble. When all your options are mystery boxes, you may as well roll a dice at that point for all the clever thinking you could do. It's not to do with fear, it's to do
