On the previous thread of Madness:Project Nevada
Rich avoided some corporate goons, went to the worst place possible, acquired a talking skull and killed an oblivious idiot for some money

Continuing the story
Somewhere in nevada

Finally getting hit by the fact you didn't sleep since the mission you went to nexus city was quite surprising. Feeling exhausted you decide sleep is necessary and head to Softtoof's motel

When you arrived you booked yourself a room for two which he charged you double for but you didn't complain because of how cheap of a business he ran [-16 pistol bullets]
Entering your room with Clayton you are quick to put your stuff aside and fall into your bed (it was separated beds in the room for two). Clayton just stood in the middle of the room staring at you. He probably doesn't even need sleep
Ignoring him you slowly drift into the land of dreams

You wake up in the same pitch black void as before, but this time you you are stared down at by a crimson luminous eye peering into your very being

The red eye stares at you for several seconds before you're blinded by a flash of red light

You wake up much more calmly this time rising out of bed. Clayton is still standing there staring at you through his helmet
After getting all your equipment in check you notice something off. The ID card from the facility changed colour to a very dark gray with red lines decorating it [ID Updated] and Terry is making less noise than usual
Checking your PDA brings up many things, the scav scouts are back and keeping eyes out for very mediocre lootables. There are messages from Oswell talking that the settlement is finishing up soon, messages from Big Lary mentioning another meeting place to talk about contracts and surprisingly a message from Bill. He mentioned wanting to talk to you

Before anything you look up to Clayton and ask
“Do you have anything you want?”
Claytons only response was to grunt and then to point at one of his AK’s, gesture widely with his hands and then smack his fists together. Okay it seems he wants a new gun with how he interprets it
After that you untie Terry from your side and remove the paper from his jaw
“You’ve been making way less noise now, what's up with that?”
Terry: “What sort of being did you align yourself with?”
“What?”
Terry: “Dont play dumb outsider, i may lack my body but i can still sense the flow of madness in the air, and this sudden influx on you means you were either hiding the power or you just bound yourself to a Improbable Being, so which was it”
“And why should i tell you any of that, you are in no spot to demand answers”
Terry shut up after that and refused to speak

After that you head out to Scav base to meet up with Bill about that talk he wanted to have. When you arrived one of the clerks waved you over and told you where Bill was meeting you. It was one of the back offices instead of his main one
Upon arrival you find Bill looking through some paper. He noticed you entering and calmly told you to take a seat which you did
Bill: “So Rich, I've heard the OP over at Nexus had some issues but was completed, good job. But i'm not here to talk about that, i'm here to ask you why one of my I-boarder scouts saw you exiting the I-Zone itself with no proper equipment and why are you carrying a live lich on your side” He asked calmly
UHHHHH…

its not a random lich, his name is Terry and he is an ok guy as far as i have seen
I found him while on scouting mission for a place to loot and i found his previous home
After a bad impression later i decided to keep him for now due to him being harmless for now
You don't have to worry about him he was easy to deal with and he's not that smart or dangerous and he wasn't affiliated with the guy who attacked us

correction, skeletons and a half a dozen dudes with guns, also the Giant was weaker than a ghoul imo, the giant had bigger HP but the ghoul was faster, i am also worried that it's gonna be a magic mumbo jumbo and we will fight something like Terry but with actual spells and less dumb
>>
"The lich? Oh yeah you mean Terry right?" You pat Terry at your side and he wiggles around in anger
Bill: "Terry?"
"Yeah that's what he told me his name was"
Bill: "And how did you find terry?"
"Oh i was exploring the i zone and found Terry's place where he was building some giant armored zombie mag, i killed it of course and i may have decapitated Terry…"
Bill stares at you calmly and makes a long sigh
Bill: "well this will be added to the log of all your other scav runs, but here's a more important question. Why were you exploring the I-Zone with no equipment?"
"What? There's equipment i need for exploring the I-Zone, i just needed my guns to do it"
Bill: "Equipment as in items and gadgets that increase your maneuverability and safety there, like a grappling hook or in some cases shade repellent"
"Huh, I just had Clayton use his strength to help me around and he traversed it easily himself, Oh! I haven't introduced you to Clayton yet, Clayton this is Bill, he runs the place, Bill this is Clayton, He's my companion"
Clayton just grunts and Bill just nods at him
"Well your skills at traversing the I-zone… under equipped are noted but i suggest you don't do that, i've personally had only 2 long term expeditions there, that place is more insane than nevada normally is"
"Noted"
Bill: "Well anyways you are free to go"

After leaving you start pondering what to do
>Go check out what the scouts have found (more safe runs
>Go to previous discovered locations despite Bills warning (Cave, Temple)
>Go to a known location/person (where/who(locations included:Black market, regular market, ect.)
>Talk to (who)

>>
>>4959513
>>Go to a known location/person (Black Market)
What's up with these people and their "procedures"? Just do what comes natural.
I was thinking we should keep the guns we got from the revenants, in case we get revenants ourselves. Get some new jobs and maybe find some of that damn equipment
>>
>>4959513
>Go check out what the scouts have found (more safe runs)
>>
>>4959513
>Go check out what the scouts have found
>ask around the Scavs about where you can get this 'Equipment' that Bill mentioned
i think we can easly do both seeing as they are in the same location

>>4959517
they have those procedures to stay alive, we have been taking risks but we also make plans to even the odds with the resources we get to escalate to bigger risks, it kinda snowballs, i also think we should sell those guns, we don't need that many like really we have more guns than an average scav group, besides with tensions after the attack i don't think it's the best time to Necromance and that's besides the point that we don't know how to make revenants, revenants are just zombies imbued with magic mumbo jumbo to make them semi-inteligent, there's no wild revenants i think
>>
>>4959540
We've all agreed to keep Terry to strong-arm-strong-hand him into teaching us necromancy, revenants are the obvious goal.
And why do we want safe runs, leave them for the noobs. We have limited time for sessions, we shouldn't waste it on easy shit.
>>
>>4959554
i mostly wanted to check about that equipment, none of the merchants sold what Bill mentioned so we would probably need to put a request for those items, besides that, maybe we could grind our Melee in one of those safe missions while we get a quick buck

First you check the PDA on those scav scouted lootables, they are usually safe and are good for newbies, scouted targets also have the problem of having to kinda give a small amount of loot to scav base because their scouts need some payment and they need to earn some money on the side outside of being generally paid for clearing things that may be threats to cities
Well anyways the current available jobs are

-A random crate was spotted a bit close to the I field border region, there is a large group of bandits trying to move it to no avail
-An old military supply truck ruined and fused to the earth, its contents seem to be unharmed, problem is the small group of bandits trying to gather the loot
-A locker stack, it has a small group of bandits trying to pick them

That is a suspicious number of bandits, you checked 4grunts for any info, turns out one of the local big bandit groups moved in after hearing about the Horde attack and decided to go around stealing loot while the city was recovering, the location of their base of operations is unknown

-New small threat discovered: Bandit Thief activity- Scouted lootables have bandits appear more commonly until bandit camp is destroyed

Outside of that you walked around the scav base mess hall asking where one could get proper I-Zone exploration equipment, surprisingly a lot of the more veteran scavs gave you good answers, either get lucky in the marketplace or check online for corporations that sell I-Zone grade equipment, you could also try to sign yourself up for the Helldiver scav jobs where they give you some gear but you still have to pay ahead because in case you die they don't lose any money and helldivers are not well known as the most survivable job

Well that answered most of that, what do you do?

Should we really attack the camp just because?
Besides the fact that the bandits should have tons of firepower, is the fact that we could talk to either Bill or the Mayor and get a proper reward for taking care of the problem and also intel about the bandits
>>
>>4960352
The longer the bandit camp stays there, the more powerful it will become over time and it will be a bigger problem to eliminate

Truck looting and assault questioning is a go, writing
>>
Deciding that cutting this bandit business out before it becomes a problem would be a good start you ping Bill and Brosco about it, they do ping back, Bill says that CT meat already are already making agreements to pay for a raiding op to scare or wipe the bandits out of the region,he will ping you when the preparations start, Brosco says that he's already set up more guards at the gates and the walls are manned with more sharpshooters, the city militia is still recovering from their overall losses from the horde attack, you decide to go to the Bonehead Comms and tell them to prepare for the assault ahead of time, Josh and most of the Boneheads started discussing plans immediately

Putting the PDA away you head out of city with clayton towards the trucks location
After some time you arrive, there are about 10 bandits there, all armed with guns, 2 single barrel shotguns, 3 scrap smgs, the rest with various Pistols, four of them are currently moving the loot out of the back of the truck while the others guard. The truck is in a plain covered by some random boulders around providing cover. They have not noticed your presence

Plan of attack?

Rolled 79 (1d100)

"Skeletons" was the first thought that came up when you thought up a plan, so you left to quickly gather some. It wasn't great… you only managed to find a group of four skeletons and that was it, one even lacked an arm. Well something is better than nothing and you orchestrated a plan. You send out the skeletons in the direction of the bandits, you and clayton veer slightly of course faster than the skeletons

Upon arrival you and clayton hide behind some boulders and wait for the skeletons to arrive. They did arrive a bit later but the plan worked. The bandits noticed and put up a formation aiming their weapons at the skeletons. They didn't even notice your and Claytons careful approach. The skeletons did better than expected and the bandits were both competent and incompetent at the same time somehow. 2 of the skeletons were gunned down before reaching the bandits. One missed 3 shots with his shotgun at near point blank ranges and got his head saved in by one arm before it got shot by a nearby bandit. The other skeleton tore a bandits face off before said bandit panic fired with his smg killing the skeleton, he still died after that
While things were calming down and they counted how many bullets they spent no one noticed that the four guys behind the truck were dead. It was easy with all the noise. They didn't even stand a chance against your ambush, both your and Clayton's carefully aimed shots killed the leftover bandits with minimal expense [-9 smg bullets, -4 rifle bullets]

This went better than expected, but you don't need to congratulate yourself. You collect the dead bandits stuff and put it next to the neat pile of loot they left behind.
Lets see what you found:
-2 shotguns
-3 scrap smgs
-2 single shot pistols
-1 Makarov
-1 Colt 1911
And… oh sweet lord who would use such a thing
-1 zip 22
The other loot was way better
-40 rifle bullets
-8 buckshot
-60 smg bullets
-20 machine gun bullets
-10 mre

That was slightly disappointing but not unexpected

Returning to town you immediately report to scav base to deliver the loot [-5 mre, 4 rifle bullets,-1 buckshot,-6 smg bullets, 2 machine gun bullets, -all looted weapons… they left you the zip, mother fuckers]

After that's all done you exit the building and head into town

Thinking about claytons inability to speak, you think of your options. You opted to ask the more well known scavs and scav workers about places to hire a doctor
Most talk about types of doctors, the cheap but reliable doctors that fix wounds or those expensive pricks that are good at their jobs. You said the latter due to specific circumstances to which they responded that you would have to look in the big cities for such doctors due to their rarity

After that's done you go to the market to see what merchants are available
A gun merchant looking to acquire wares
He is willing to buy:
-40 Bullet Worth per M4A1 Rifle [you have 2]
-30 BW per grease gun [you have 3]

Sorry to say this anons but im droping the quest, im not gonna ghost like a faggot
Im just not QM material, irl work and trying to keep some updates drains my drive to run it so im stoping, im just more content being an anon who votes and enjoys reading the other amazing quests made by more talented QMs
I am completely okay if someone takes over, ive made a preety neat premise no ones done before but its a mess
Im sorry anons, goodbye

Good on you for not ghosting and I'm sad to see you go. If ever you come back, know that I'll be right there reading again.
