Alright, time to get started.
>>
Foric looked over his Kingdom with a smile.

For years he has been their ruler, and through hard work and effort the High King was able to build up what his Father and Grandfather had given him. The most prize of his accomplishments in the domestic sense might infact be the beast he was riding.

Byk, the most prized Ragoo in the land.

Through this beast he was able to tame numerous other Ragoos and bring them down into the realm of man. Of course things were difficult at first with people trying to tame the beasts just like Foric had. However that was soon changed when those with a more agriculture mind got to work with the beasts.

The Ragoo of today, after maybe ten years of their adoption, have already started to become docile. Rooting out the troubling personality of the beasts and making them much more amenable for the common man. Maybe it was thanks to the fact Ragoo were able to grow up and breed within two years, faster than almost any other beast that mankind had handled. Though thanks to such fast growth they only last fifteen years.

Which only made Foric wonder why his Ragoo, Byk, seems as active as the first day he met him. Maybe the tales of Dragon's Blood were not as far fetched as people thought it to be.

As they were upon the mountain Foric looked towards the other side of his little pirch, seeing the small lines of movement going across the mountain. Through the efforts of the East and West the Fortress Foric had desired was coming along nicely. By the end of his reign, there might be a truly safe way of traveling between realms.

With that however Foric realized that he had dazzed for too long. It was time for him to get back to work.

During the years of Foric’s reign, the Church of Mankind has grown to a respectable amount. With its heart within the Bastion of Man, it has since spread forward into numerous directions.

Even as he walked into the greatest of its cathedrals he could see men praying at both the steps and the pews that stood about the place. Still with Foric’s entrance the numerous men who were praying stopped to look over and study the man who was their Lord here on earth.

Foric made his way through the area of worship and towards the monastery in the back. There were several men guarding the place with dwarven armor upon this form. These men were the Paladins, the military warriors of the Clerical Church.

None of them stood in Foric’s way however. If anything they occasionally pointed him in other directions to the Pope without a word.

Maybe it is because Foric is the High King, but these men all seem to respect him further than just a normal man. Actually, it might be that he defeated the men up North that a class of Warrior Priests respect him as a fighter.

Soon Foric crossed the threshold and into the administration chamber of the Head Priest.

“Lord Foric!” The man said while giving Foric the much deserved bow, “I did not expect you to come today, it is still an honor to welcome you!”

“Rise, Innocent.” Foric told the man as he gave a charming smile, “I have come here to see how you have been growing.”

“Almost all folks have adopted our religion in some way from their own. Entire communities have been successfully converted from the old ways and are now thriving with us as a back bone.” The Cleric answered happily, “So many folk have started to worship the gods that the Gods themselves have started to reward us, their servants.”

“You can call me a fool and maybe even a heretic.” Foric began as he glanced towards the King of Bishops, “Who exactly are we paying paying tribute to?”

“Indeed, I take it you do not know much as you were not raised in the realm of man but Dwarf.” The Bishop assumed with a smirk, “I can understand such a thing, though it saddens me that not even our Lord who we pay tribute to knows of divinity.”

Foric gave a firm nod, “Indeed that is the case.”

“Well first we must start with the bearer of the Sun, Solarus.” Innocent said with a small nod to himself, “Solarus is that which gives life to the world. Through him our crops grow and ward away the darkness that introduces upon us. He is the incorruptible purity as well as eternal growth.”

The man before Foric gestured towards a painting that was within the room. Upon the tapestry was a sun with a face upon it. Soon he pointed towards the earth, “This here is Ong, the God of Earth and those who live within it. As I have been told he made the Dwarfs, he is the absolute lord of all beneath the grasses that cover our world. We do not venture there for it is the lands of his people, however even we must acknowledge his domain.”

“We pay tribute to a god of the Dwarfs. Thats… fitting.”

“Indeed, it is them that we learn our writing from.” The Leader of their Faith moved his hand towards the being standing in the middle, “This here is Tor, God of Blood. He is the one who helps mankind move forward and become strong, blessing our warriors with his might. It was your Grandfather who was his greatest Champion, making Tor the God of Mankind as well.”

>Indeed he was, a Saint of the Warrior God
>No, Alaric was no champion of that God. He was just a powerful man.

“Alaric was no Champion of a God.” Foric told the Priest with a firmness and authority in his voice, “He was a simple man who did not follow any god. Just like all men, he created his own destiny.”

“Are you sure of that, even in the days before civilization Tor was known to mankind.” Innocent search for his confirmation.

“My Grandfather did not follow any Gods, Innocent.” Foric told the man outright, “It was with the power of Fortage and his own perseverance that the King was able to slay the Warboss and First High Chief.”

Foric leaned into the man’s face for good measure, “Even if the Gods try and claim the accomplishment as their own, I will make it known Foric did not care for their machinations.”

The man before Foric seemed hesitant, but soon gave the nod, “I will inform my fellow Bishops and the Warriors of your decleration. I do not know how well they will listen to my words.”

“Simply do not train the next generation of such a lie.” Foric told the man with a firm declaration, “Time will repair that wound.”

The man before Foric bowed, “I will try that then. Though that does bring up the fact we need to choose how to move forward.”

“Is there a specific future you want for your Church?” The High King asked the man.

“Of course, however I want to know what is it you seek from us too.”

“I want you fellows to look into your faith just a little bit more.” Foric suggested to Innocent.

“Look into our faith?” The man once again said the statement with a hint of confusion and speculation.

“Yes, of course, for our faith thought that my Grandfather was a willing subject to your God of Blood. Such a thing should not have happened in the first place.” Foric answered the confusion.

“I mean, that is understandable.” The Priest said admittedly, “Then we will try our best to follow in you and your Father’s vision. Oh, there is one other thing.”

The Priest took out a single letter and handed it to Foric. Looking over it the man realized it seems to have been sealed with a stamp and parchment covered in writing. Said writing was requesting the Gods to prevent whatever corruption this report had.

“That is the report from our Paladins a few days ago.”

Foric nodded before folding it out and giving it a read.

To the King of Bishops,

In our vigilance we have gotten word of something happening near the eastern mountains. Through investigation we have learned that a being, dressed in black, has been trying to get folk to accept an offer of complete ecstasy.

It was only through Common Sense and Faith that these men resisted the creature. Whatever it was trying to pull it was located within that area as many have confirmed sightings.

I ask you to send support. We need more people to track down and root out this creature that tries to tempt communities.

This here, this here was the thing that these people were created for. Foric placed the paper back into its envelope with purpose.

The High King looked the Head Bishop in the eyes, “Innocent, I want you to gather for me the more Virtuous and Martially Skilled Paladins. I also want you to inform the local Lord if anything like this happens again, am I understood?”

“I understand, sir. I will inform the Grand Master of your request.” The King of Bishops answered while placing a seal upon the envelope.

The next few nights were quick for Foric. Quickly the man gathered Paladins and enough carts to transport them. It was fortunate for Foric that the Grand Master that the Bishop talked about walked next to him with his own personal Ragoo.

“Lord Foric,” The heavily armored man said while giving a mock bow, “I am Grand Master Lanton of the Bishop King’s Order. It is my pleasure to meet a descendant of Alaric the Great.”

“I am honored as well. I take it you are the most Martially gifted and Pious of the land?”

“That is how I got the title Grand Master, my Liege.” He said while pumping his chest, “I have read the reports and find it troubling that something foul is occurring near our border.”

“Agreed. I fear this creature is softening the border to do whatever damning event that is about to occur.”

“You think this is but an Omen of something bigger?”

“The events that have been happening, the growing corruption that I have been seeing. Alaric only faced the remains of corruption, while my Father found corruption spawned within his own generation.” Foric’s eyes narrowed, “This will be the second time I face the foe of civilization. I do not think it is a coincidence.”

The Grand Master gave a nod, “Understood, Lord Foric. How do you suggest we take care of this enemy?”

“We shall simply go and talk to the people themselves.” Foric answered him with a smile, “Wrap a cloak around your armor and leave our beasts with the men. If anyone were to see the Ragoos they would know we are at least of noble blood.”

“Ah, I understand my lord.” The man nodded with a smirk, “I will retrieve a cloak.”

It was nearing the night that the two men approached the town, their bulk making it nearly obvious they were armed. However without their symbols visible none knew they were of noble blood. Foric took the chance to enter a nearby in as people stole glances in their direction.

The inside was nice. A small fire raged in the middle of the room as a bard sang tunes in the corner. To Foric’s surprise it was a tune about his Grandfather, sounding out how the man united all of man and vanquished the Warboss who terrorized mankind.

Foric and the Grand Master made their way to the bar without much issue. Some of the people looked over in their direction with curiosity but did not pay them much heed.

“Welcome to the Steamed Mug in, Adventurers.” The man said as he walked up to Foric, “Do you want two or three mugs tonight?”

“Three.” Foric said without even a hint of shame. He was a man trained by the Dwarfs of course he was not going to deny good ale.

The King looked around the place and studied the people. In one of the Corners there was a cloaked man, though he was not nearly as bulky as Foric and his Vassal. He seemed ready to play with what looks to be a small game involving dice.

Another nearby fellow was a small group of people looking to be as armored up as Foric and the Grandmaster. However unlike them these folks were not hiding the fact they were armed to the teeth. Now that Foric thought about it, the Bartender called him an adventurer.

Has there been a class of people developing that he did not know about yet?

“So, you know anything behind those folk over there.” Foric asked as he pointed towards the group of heavily armed folk.

“Well they are adventurers, pretty good ones infact.” The man said with a small chuckle.

“Adventurer,” Foric chewed that word for another moment, “What exactly do they do?”

“You not from around here?” The Bartender asked back.

“I am from the Bastion of Man.” Foric said the truth for this moment.

“Ah, I cannot really say they would have many Adventurers over there. Well you see Adventurers are folk who either go into ruins from a bygone era or help in the killing of random monsters.” The man admitted, “We had a small Orc problem a little while ago that those people over there took care of.”

“There are still Orcs in the lands?”

“Only occasionally, and in very small numbers.” The man answered back, “No need to fear, the rise of another Warboss is not going to happen on our side of the world.”

Foric felt a little respect for those folk and nodded his head towards the shifty man, “What about him?”

“His name's Denevin. He knows some things but really loves to swindle money from Knight and Adventurer alike.” The Bartender answered as he watched Foric down his last drink, “You want some more?”

“Two more will work.” Foric answered while tipping to the bard who just finished playing, “And her?”

“Alyssa. She has a voice that only belongs in the Heavens.” The Bartender answered while giving Foric his drink, “She’s been trying her best to chronicle the events happening in this little town and is doing a good job at it too.”

Foric grew a small smile as he got off the bar and started walking over to the woman with a mug of ale in both hands. With a smirk the man presented the woman with a mug, “Singing so much probably caused your throat to grow a bit sore, eh?”

“Oh, thank you~” She said while accepting the mug, “Pretty generous aren't you? Are you looking for a fun time, handsome?”

Foric looked over his shoulder at the Grandmaster with a small chuckle, “No not right now, I was wondering if you knew anything about a robbed figure walking through these parts.”

“There are plenty of robbed men coming through here, yourself included.” She pointed out to Foric.

“You pulling my leg here?” Foric fired right back at her.

“You are asking about the black robed fellow, aren't you?”

“There we go,” Foric answered with a drink of his ale, “So what can you tell me?”

“He was an odd fellow, asking the people of the town to get the mayor for him. From what the Mayor told me, he presented him with a Fruit that is supposed to always make you full.” She said while making a shape with her hands, “He felt something was off with the deal, and told him to leave the village faster than he came.”

“Do you know where he could be now?” Foric asked the woman with a raised brow.

“I heard he was going north west, towards the Mountain Gap Bastion.”

To those characters who were of some interest leaned into the words of the Bard. Their interest must have been peaked by the words of the Bard. These people were like Mercenaries in a sense, however Foric wondered if they could be slightly differnt.

“Interesting, interesting.” Foric said while rubbing his dwarven style beard, “Well see if anyone wanted to help me I could probably provide them with a reward.”

At these words the two groups near Foric began to shift, getting up from their spots. Quickly coming up to Foric’s side was the Grandmaster first, who wanted to make sure his ward was not mugged by these fellows.

The first was the small group of adventurers. They consisted of a man and woman decked out in armor almost as thick as Foric’s. With a no nonsense look upon his face.

He talked with a little odd accent, “So you are looking for the robed devil?”

“Is that the name he had around here?” Foric asked back for clarification.

“Indeed, we have been hearing about his presence across all the hamlets, villages, and towns. We have not put much stake in it, but I am sure we can track him down.”

“But will you be able to capture him?” Asked the roguish fellow coming from behind Foric, “He has been able to evade all guards that were called against him. In that case, I shall offer my services.”

“This is starting to sound like something fun.” The Bard admitted as she grew a big smile while putting away the lute, “Whatever you all are doing you can count me in.”

“So how much we talking?” The armored woman asked while moving forward, “A lot of people means we have a lot of pockets to line with gold.”

“How about 500 Gold Coins across all of you?” Foric asked as everyone’s eyes around him lit up.

“500 four ways is 125.” said the robed fellow, “I don’t care what any of you say I will help you as much as I can!”

Foric grew a small smile as he wondered what these folk are capable of.

“Well thats not to say you all will be going alone.” Foric announced as he patted the Grandmaster on the back, “We will be coming along to support you.”

The folk around Foric looked concerned as the King shined a smile at them. It was only when one of the fighters called out that Foric knew the reason, “If we get into a fight, sir, we won’t be able to defend you that well.”

“Oh don’t worry.” Foric said while walking forward and patting the man on the back, “I am more than able to defend myself.”

The hires all looked to each other with skepticism, maybe a little bit of dread. However Foric decided this was better to get a good read on how these people work. That and he did not want them demanding more pay knowing that Foric could definitely afford it.

With that the crew headed out, Foric sending a message to his forces to make sure they were at least a town away from his party. They moved fast by ignoring the numerous hamlets that dotted the landscape. The Bard said it properly in that if something was wrong there they would have noticed something fast.

When they arrived at the first town, a place called Osphec, in the evening did the roguish fellow speak, “I don’t know what any of you were thinking, but I think this is the perfect place to go find this fellow. I’m thinking of heading over to the bars and seeing what I can get.”

“While you do that, I will go over and meet with the local chapel. If he has gone through here they would know something.” Said the bard in authority.

“That leaves the Barracks to us.” Said one of the two fighters, “I bet we can get the local guards to say something.”

To say the sight of four heavily armed individuals approaching the local barracks was enough to raise brows was an understatement. However no one seemed that eager to throw an insult or tell the squad of heavily armed individuals to fuck off.

Taking point this time was the woman of the pair. She approached the two guards with a sense of regality in her step, “Hello there gentleman, you two are going to be out late it seems?”

“Not much else we can do.” One of them muttered as he shook his head, “It's our job.”

“An honorable one I am sure.” She said with a firm resolve, “Mind if I ask you a few questions?”

The guards looked a little concerned, looking over Foric and the others. But when Foric flashed to them his sword the two men began to grow a little sweat on their brow, “You see, uh, ma’am we are on the job. The Captain of the Guard is still inside if you want to talk to him.”

“Oh, thank you.” She said before giving a nod for everyone else to walk inside. As Foric passed the two men he gave them a smile and snuck the two of them a gold piece each for the trouble.

Who said he was mean to his vassals and people? No one, that's who.

With that thought the four of them entered and made their way through. It was not a large building at all so it was only a minute after that they found the room where the Captain was housed. To say he was a little surprised was an understatement as he saw four heavily armed folk approach him.

“Uh, is there a way I can help you all?” He asked with a tinge of fear.

“Yes, there is something.” The woman once again said while walking into the room, “We are looking for a Darkly robed fellow who has been trying to sell special apples.”

“Special? Black Robed man?” The man was confused before shaking his head, “Sorry but I got nothing.”

Foric’s eyes narrowed at the fellow and took the change to approach those who were talking. Maybe it was thanks to his training or the authority that he held as King, but the guard in front of him quickly stood straighter than he already was.

“Are you sure you have not seen anything?” Foric asked while narrowing his eyes at the fellow, “Such information would be very helpful to me.”

“I-is there a reason for this sir?” The man asked hesitantly.

Foric decided now was a good time to flash his sword, “Are you sure we need a reason?”

“I-I understand sir!” The man shouted before nodding, “I believe I have seen the fellow in the lower rungs of the city. He has been soliciting people in the streets for a few hours earlier today!”

“Thank you.” Foric said as he walked away with the rest of the people in toe.

“That went easily enough, I thought we would need to punch some sense into him.” The male Fighter admitted while looking deeply into Foric’s back, “Sir, if you may can I have a word.”

“What kinda word are you looking for?”

“You’ve scared all the guards we have been crossing.” The man admitted with a good bit of observation, “What have you been doing to scare them like that?”

“It is quite easy to intimidate men when you are larger than them.” Foric told the warriors as they started to walk away, “Such a thing is to be expected.”

The Adventurers looked at Foric with skepticism. Well, maybe as much as a pair of helms can look at him with it. Either way they simply accepted the fact that Foric was not going to leak out the truth.

Soon everyone got together once again, firm in the knowledge that they needed to go to the more disenfranchised of the Kingdom. Going down the streets there were an obvious amount of people who were wanting to steal some coins off them. Such a big group of heavily armed people was enough to scare these kinds of folk off, however.

“So the person is somewhere around here?” The Bard said as they inched their way forward.

“That is what we have been told by the Captain of the Guard. That is, unless you think he is a liar?” Answered one of the Fighters.

“You can never trust someone with that much authority.” The Rogue said with a small bite in his voice, “They got that position somehow.”

“You say that, however many of the folk around here inherited their position.” Pointed out the Bard, “Unless you are claiming Father like son?”

“Those folk are the more gullible ones.” The Rogue admitted, “All that wealth and not knowing where to spend it.”

“You say that, little one.” Began the Grandmaster with a grave tone, “But what of the one who made mankind the way we are today, Alaric?”

“He was more of a brute.” The Rogue claimed before shaking his head, “But that just goes to show he was different from everyone else, right? Guy didn’t wallow in shit or spiked people’s drinks. He just got things done.”

Those were… odd words Foric had to admit. He did not know if the Rogue was insulting his line or complimenting it. Probably an insult, but Foric would simply listen for now.

The group of adventurers made their way towards the center of the slums. Looking around Foric noted the few people who were stuck outside of their homes starving and dying. A pity many of them were, but what is there for Foric to do?

Blood, lineage, and determination is what makes men these days. While Foric assumed his position through the might of his Grandfather, both he and his own Father held that power through determination. Foric had bled against the Barbarians of the North and sweated at the numerous duties he had been performing.

Right now he is on the top. Such a thing was a fact that he could not measure how far his determination could take him. He knew at the very least that people with enough fire in their bellies will hold their position with ferocity, if chances came by they might be able to pierce their way towards the top by defeating those with less.

As they arrived near the Warehouse Foric heard the chantings within the place. They were hushed of course, but he could tell there were plenty of folk inside who were currently in worship of something.

“I will be getting into the rafters.” Said the rogue as he quickly scaled a wall and threw himself into the place.

“That leaves us the entrance.” The Female warrior announced while making her way towards the wall with the rest in toe.

The Grandmaster drew his sword, but Foric held back as he wanted to keep himself as a surprise for all. Taking his position next to the Bard, the two warriors and Paladin prepared themselves to smash open the door.

“NOW!” With a yell the doors were breached by a massive blow to them. Looking inside Foric could see numerous people sitting before a tree as a dark figure stood next to it.

In the next moment, everyone charged forward while the cultist drew their weapons.

Within moments the fighting started, the warriors all throwing themselves into the frey as Foric saw arrows raining from above. All of these men, people who Foric held domain over, drew out swords and dirks to kill their foe.

To say Foric was angry was an understatement. These men and woman, even if they fallen out of favor, were people who Foric meant to guard. People who he should guard against monsters like this thing!

“I will end you!” Foric said with a firm authority in his voice before charging at the monster.

The Demon, who had been staying back to watch the events occur before him, quickly drew a blade to defend against Foric who had narrowly failed in removing his head. The two quickly traded blows with one another.

“So who dares-!” The Demon’s eyes widened as Foric’s hood fell and blade was fully in sight, “Ah, the line of Alaric. I did not expect any of his brood to come face me.”

“Do you think I would just ignore you?” Foric asked the creature while bringing up his sword, “A monster like you perverts my people and turns them to foul hedonism! I have heard the stories of what your foulness causes.”

“Ah, so my assumption was true.” The demon spat the ground as he gave a grimace, “It was your Father who destroyed my project in Elys. You know that project was so close to ripening, now I am stuck with making a Corpse Monster from sickened fools.”

“You say those words as if you expect an apology.” Foric fired back as his blade began to burn, “I shall bisect you and send your body to your dark gods.”

“Come, High King of Man!” Yelled the Demon as he began to glow with a darkness about his body, “Come and face me!”

“HAAA!” Foric yelled while charging the Demon.

Quickly Foric went for the head of the beast, the Demon quickly bringing up his darkened blade to block it. The monster itself simply grinned while bringing his blade over and attempting to slice into the man’s chest. Foric was still able to bat that attack over.

“The King of Man, and he cannot even land the first hit!” The bastard laughed as Foric went for a shot against his gut.

Once again they traded blows, sparks going across the place as they fought for supremacy. Foric’s strike was parried form the gut but with enough strength the High King was able to go in with another strike at the monster’s side. This one caused the creature to click his tongue as he narrowly dodged the strike.

Now it was the demon’s turn, the monster pressing the attack with a pair of strikes at Foric’s neck and then legs. The High King was easily able to parry that attack going towards his neck while the one going for the leg got its injury in.

“First blood is mine you-!” Before the demon could gloat Foric was on the offensive.

This time he went up to three strikes. The first one was a strike right through the stomach with fury unmatched. Barely did the creature deflect it, however that was enough for Foric to land another pair of strikes. The second strike had marked up the arm and drew a bloody stream right through the air. The third, well, Foric got a nice stab through its gut before it could even get a chance to defend or dodge.

“So the rumors of Fortage were right, centuries of grudges and blood spilt have poisoned it!” The creature took a few steps back with his body glowing with might, “If I claim it now, the Dark Lord shall not be impeded!”

And with a flash of darkness whatever false flesh the creature had was blown away to reveal a monstrous form. Still humanoid in shape, it had a pair of horns jutting out of its head with deep red eyes. Shadows leaked from its form as it absorbed the sword it was weilding into its body.

It was ready now.

Monster and Man, the two duking it out as many of the cultists around them fell. Foric felt his hands burn with use as the man had to defend himself against the monster’s claws. Now that the demon had replaced his sword with these claws the fighting was getting much much worse.

For one it quickly became much harder for Foric to defend himself against the monster. With claws it was able to quickly slash from two seperate sides and he could only defend from one of them.

His arms were ripped open and caused the world to be splashed with crimson blood. The chest was covered in numerous small scratches and even some that dug all the way down into a rib bone.

Despite all of these Foric fought, and slowly he was making his own wounds against the demon. With the lack of blades to parry the creature was left to simply dodge against the onslaught of attacks that Foric pushed out. Foric had cleanly ripped into the monster’s sides and ripped quite a few tendons out of his arms.

This was surely a fight for their lives. The Demon tried to remove Foric from the situation while the High King tried to slay the creature himself. The two wanted the other dead, and that was enough for this fight to carry forward.

Just one moment, one moment was what both were searching for. In a single moment one would kill the other with a defining strike that would end the battle. The monster thought he saw one and went for a swipe right at Foric’s neck, however the High King quickly raised his arms and felt them impaled by the creature.

“Foolish mortal, why won’t you die!?” Yelled the creature before a hand snared its extended arm.

“For I am the Foric, High King of Mankind! I will not stand by as you create flesh-monsters of my people!” Foric announced as he felt his mana sapped by Fortage, “I hereby declare your execution! In my name, DIE!”

The creature tried to dodge in that moment, but Foric pulled upon the extended arm and kept it in place for just that moment. With glowing golden light, Foric brought the blade down and bisected the monster. It became nothingness within a flash of light.

Thus the first strike was done, the Authority of the High King was used.

Foric watched the creature burn away as he felt something strong enter his mind. However at this moment there was not much else he could do as he heard several heavy metal boots stop before him. Turning about Foric looked to face the several people who have severed to get him here.

“So you were the High King?” Asked the Woman Fighter as she looked towards Foric.

“I am, you got a problem with it?” Foric fired back with a small bit of anger within his voice.

“I wish you atleast left us a chance to kill the bastard ourselves.” The woman joked while giving a small chuckle, “We did our job.”

“You did, and you shall be paid for it too.” Foric said while nodding to the Grand Master, “However I find it hard to believe this was his only cult.”

“As long as you pay us, it shall be taken care of.” The Adventurer answered to Foric’s suggestion.

“Then get on with it.” Foric said before making his way out of there, “I shall see your work done by week’s end.”

To those words the group worked at curving the cults who had appeared. Foric was right, for there were plenty of people who had sided themselves with the demon that were feeding off of his demonic fruit.

They were all purged though. Flames rose high on some days as they decided just burning away the trees were better than possibly spreading them through transport.

As for Foric, he was healed back to near full health. Still though he felt as if he was now bearing a great weight upon his shoulders. One that he could barely begin to describe to other folk.

The next few years were harder on Foric than most other years. He worked tirelessly to see if it was possible to bring about the rise of the adventurers. If he could achieve this, well, he would have a decentralized system of defence against any of the horrors that were brought against the world.

Any defence is a good defence, after all.

He aged a few good years since his last battle with a demon. Many of his battle wounds became scars that scattered about his body and occasionally burned. The weight he felt after killing the creature has grown several tons larger as the man was trying to prepare.

“Father, I have finished talking to the Dwarfs.” Daedric said as he walked into Foric’s room, “They have agreed to build an Adventurer’s Hall in every major city that a Duke resides within.”

“That is a good start.” Foric admitted as he rubbed his hands, “I do wonder if they will have enough things to fight these days.”

“Things have been getting more and more dangerous out there.” Daedric claimed as he looked towards the nearby window, “Animals and Beasts have all been growing more vicious. Shadows seem to stalk people every night that are starting to have tangible shapes. Even with the Dragon Scale Bastion, we have barely been able to cross those mountains.”

“Something is nearing then?”

“I think so, Father. All of these things happening are not a coincidence.”

Foric thought to himself for a moment, then a moment longer, “Do you think there is somethings we need to do?”

“There are plenty to do, but only so few of me and my brothers.” The man admitted as he walked to another side of the room, “Simply getting around the Kingdom is taking too long. If we say, built a corps composed of Ragoo Riders or fixed up our roads more I can quickly react to issues across the Kingdom. Of course, even if we had that our military is starting to lose their shine these days without a fight.”

We should probably fully reform the military next turn before Foric dies because it looks like, he is going to die soon.

With that Daedric will have proper armies under him, and since he is a warrior it would be great for new conquests and for better protect the kingdom. The South and the East, both lands where man can live. South is fertile and richer, while East was the old home of man.

North there is cold coasts for maybe wood and fish but after that just snow and ice, and west is already all conquered by us. We could take those north coasts but they aren t special, it would be a conquest nevertheless.

The full military reform would consist of making the ragoo cavalry, the normal cavalry, some mages exsclusively for war, copying a bit from dwarfs and elves for improve our infantry and skirmishers and maybe even some siege engines. Maybe we can create a small army of professionals directly under the king, while the rest are all semi-professionals, militias and levies.

Since Foric is a king, he can use the help of many of the warriors under him for accomplish this reform. Doing it completely alone would be difficult for anyone.

“Build roads, my son.” Foric ordered as he straightened himself up, “With roads we shall transport men across the domain and help the people in moving across the lands themselves.”

“Then I shall work to do that, Father.” The young man said while giving a bow, “How great is the weight upon your shoulders?”

“It is plenty fold, Daedric.” Foric answered while gripping Fortage, “It feels as if I am a bulwark against an incoming flood. What flood this is I do not know.”

“Such a weight I will bare after you, I am sure.” The Prince answered while waving, “I will see you later, father.”

And with that he was out the door, going straight to work on the project.

With that done Foric started making his way down through the halls into one of the largest in the fortress. In the middle of it all his wife stood there working with several plates of gold, silver, and platinum. However what interested Foric the most were the several sticks next to her.

With a smile he called out, “So what have you gotten done here?”

“I have determined a new theory. Normally I would use a plate these days to create magic, but I might not even need that. If I were to say, fit this somehow into a stick I would only need to carry around the stick. Who knows, we might be able to employ materials other than precious metals.”

“Interesting.” Foric said while rubbing his chin.

“Magia.” Foric called out the name of his wife with a few wery pants, “Have you made any headlong in what happened to me?”

The woman nodded while brushing her grey hair away from her face, “I have done some research, and even found a ritual that might help. Here, I’ll guide you over.”

Foric nodded, taking his wife’s hands and heading towards the center of the room. Looking over Foric saw a massive array, however unlike many times before he realized this one was not made from any ordinary material.

“Is that, gold?”

“It is simply thin golden wire that I retrieved from the Dwarfs. Its, well, worth its weight in gold.” She said while giving a chuckle, “It does however strengthen my magic to the point where I can commit powerful sorceries.”

“I got it, I think.” Foric said as he was left standing in the center, “So is this just like the last time?”

“Of course. It would be easy to see what is wrong if I check your mana directly.”

With those words the Queen opened her hands as if she was beckoning god. Within a moment the power she wielded began to flow into the array she presented. Such power was greater than anything Foric had seen to date, and already he could feel her breaching his body.

That was when they appeared.

All about Foric splotches of darkness across his body appeared. He wanted to swat at them like pests attacking him. When he tried though they did not go away, simply holding their place like attempts to burn him away.

And with that the magic wore away as his wife slowly lowered herself into the ground with a small panting. She looked up towards him with horror, “You have something upon you, something that is trying to rip your life away. It is a curse of some sorts. I… don’t know what kind it could be.”

“It must have been from the claws of the demon.” Foric summed up his thoughts with a clear sound of distaste.

“He might have, however I do not think so.” Magia pointed out as she walked towards Foric, “A curse like that should have died with the caster. Even if he is a demon, I do not think he can sustain his powers after leaving the world.”

“So you think something else either took over the curses, or had placed them upon me?”

His wife gave a nod, “They are slowly eating at you and whittling you down. Such beings must really want you dead.”

Foric thought to himself for a moment, “Then… maybe it's the demon’s master. He told me that he shall kill me for his Dark Lord.”

“The Dark Lord? Does that mean he…” Magia thought to herself for a moment, “I do not know much, but I believe Estus the Sage warned that the next Demon Lord would be coming anytime now. That time must be approaching fast if the Dark Lord is sustaining the curse.”

“And they want me out of the picture before they can invade.” Foric looked towards his wife with pleading eyes, “Is there anyway of curing this curse, to release me from its grip?”

“I… do not know how Curses work. I have only heard of them existing in older times.” She admitted with a sigh, “The best I can say is that the caster must die.”

“Do we even know where he is?”

“Based upon legend, I can only say he is past the Mountain Gap.” She said before looking at Foric directly, “You may want to go slay him, but I think you are the person who he is waiting to die. We can try and extend your life, which will mean we have more time to prepare.”

“Then I shall spit in the face of that bastard.” Foric declared as he felt a burning fury in his heart, “I might not be able to kill him now, but I can definitely try and make it so he can’t get rid of me that easily.”

HIs wife’s eyes narrowed upon the man, “You are going to face down a Dragon. Not even Alaric, your Grandfather, was able to do that and survive.”

“You might be right, but I will not take this lying down.” Foric declared as he felt the weight upon his person melt away, “I had seen my Father die, lying in a bed without a blade in hand. Maybe I am more of a Warrior King like Alaric, but I will not take this lying down!”

Magia’s face took a series of emotional turns, changing from angry to desperate, to soft hearted. Soon though her eyes steeled upon Foric with a fury only a woman of her standing could have, “Very well, but do not leave us like a fool. You are to settle down the realm and make sure everyone knows what is to happen. If you die the darkness will come and we will be faced with it!”

“Aye, preparations should be done.” Foric admitted as he held his head eye, “Who are the people you wish for me to talk to?”

“Firstly you have Hev, he has been our family’s side for generations. You must tell him your plan and make sure he can settle your son into his position.” She declared, “Next will be the Deep King. He should stay his hand in trying to help you if it means protecting the realms from an incursion of this magnitude.”

Foric gave nods as he already knew the end answer, “And I take it my son shall be the last?”

“Yes, your son is next in line. Entrust him with the realm so that none may question his rule.” Magia ordered.

“Then I shall get going.” Foric announced, “Give me whatever blessings you have, Magia.”

The evening heat was slowly dying down as Foric made his way towards the Balcony of the Mountain Gap Bastion. The sun had already left his view hours ago, now all he could see was the darkness that lies west of the realm.

Before Foric, sitting on a chair, is an old dwarf who looked towards him with a smile, “Well I did not expect you to come over here. Come here and lets drink!” Hev laughed while giving the man a mug of ale.

“Thank you.” Foric said with a growing smile, “How have things been over here?”

“The men are preparing themselves.” Hev announced while leaning back in his chair, “Soon we will be prepared for whatever is thrown at us.”

“Thats good, because thats going to be tested soon.” Foric admitted while taking a sip.

The Dwarf’s eyebrows furrowed, “What is happening?”

Foric took in a breath, “It seems the corruption has created their dark lord and are preparing to attack us at any moment. The only thing keeping them back is the fact I am still alive.”

“Then you should be honored by becoming the one thing they fear.” Hev pointed out before his eyes narrowed, “But are they doing something about you?”

“Indeed they are. I seemed to have been cursed by the Dark Lord himself. His magic is slowly working its way through my body in an attempt to kill me.” Foric said as he grew a grin, “However I am not taking it sitting down.”

“What are you planning, killing him instead?” Hev joked, though he seemed a little hesitant in his voice.

“No, I am no fool. Attacking him head long in his own territory will not only kill me but whoever comes with me.” Foric answered as he rubbed his arms, “I am after the legend, Hev, I am seeking Dragon’s Blood to give myself immortality.”

“You cannot be serious! I have already sent Alaric, First High King to his death seeking that out!” The Dwarf yelled as he almost flipped the table, “If there is a war brewing we need you here!”

“And while I did take that into consideration, Hev, the simple matter of fact is that if I grow old and weak that might attack during my reign.” Foric announced with firm authority, “You know my son, Hev, Daedric is much smarter than both myself and his mother. Add to that how capable of a fighter he is and well; he shall make a greater High King than even myself.”

The Dwarf took a moment to mull over the details and think to himself, “I think I understand what you are saying. You are still throwing your life away at a chance of something we do not know is even possible.”

Foric nodded and smiled, “Have you ever seen my steed, Byk?”

“I have quite the majestic creature it is.” Hev admitted until his eyes widened a little bit, “Are you suggesting…”

“Byk, when I first had him, was bathed in the Immortal Blood of a Dragon. He is double the age of a Ragoo and seems to have not aged even a day.” Foric pointed out, “It also proves that those were no mere legends, but the actual truth.”

“Immortality.” Hev gave a small laugh, “Then I cannot stop you, Foric, for you are the High King. Since you are visiting us all, you are making your rounds?”

“Aye, I came up with the idea with my wife’s help. You are the first I have informed, next shall either be the Deep King or my own Son.”

“Very well, Foric.” The Dwarf hit him in the shoulder with a smile, “Make sure the next generation knows who is the High King, and to confirm that our alliance shall face down the new horrors to come.”

It was these days that the furnaces of the underkingdom glowed hotter than ever. While mankind had extended themselves across the surface, the Dwarfs below were able to gain de facto control of the underground. Even if Dwarves bred slower than man, with enough food and hearty mead they are easily able to expand themselves throughout the tunnels.

Foric was no stranger to these realms. He was raised within the nearby academy and gained a hearty acceptance of what good mead is.

The guards looked upon Foric for only a moment before nodding and moving out of his way. The High King was known down here for his occasional travels, doing so more than his father but not as much as Alaric.

Sitting upon his golden throne the old Dwarven King smiled, “Foric, you seem to be growing old.”

“I can say the same to you, but then again you always looked old.” Foric joked back while walking up and making a greeting gesture with the King.

“Ah, your words are digging deep now. Do you humans always get like that when you get old?” The Deep King joked with a smirk, “Here you are, the oldest in your line yet you have only seen me in my twilight years.”

“I would prefer that instead of the grave.” Foric told the Dwarf as his smile faded, “It's time.”

“Ah, so the next Demon Lord, chosen champion of dark gods, has arisen once again?” The Dwarf said with a gleam of intelligence.

“Indeed. A dying Demon’s curse being fueled by his Dark Master has gripped me, Stog. I am dying with every step I take in this world.”

“That reminds me of your Grandfather.” The Dwarf admitted as he looked over Foric’s condition, “Though I am sure it was because his body was too small for his true majesty and just could not handle him.”

“Indeed, though I seek to embark on the same trial as Alaric himself did.” Foric announced to the Dwarven Lord, “Even if it is just a chance, getting immortality means I can defend mankind to the end of days.”

His fellow King’s eyes narrowed as he looked upon him, “If it was during the times of Alaric I would have joined the man on his grand hunt. If you fail though, my people will need my guidance in the wars ahead.”

“They will.” Foric admitted as he shined a smile, “I want you here to help my son, to honor the agreement you made with our Ancestor.”

“I will, however I am not going to let you leave empty handed.” The Dwarf said while hoping off his throne and waving to Foric, “Come, there is something I wish to give you.”

They made their way down and through cellars. Deeper they went, the rock slowly became less ornate as the true purpose was not to have eyes see it. Foric had a good guess at where they were traveling as they arrived at a pair of ebony doors.

“Your Vault.” Foric answered as he knew what was there, “The one beneath my keep is there, however it is empty.”

“Well that is a shame for us. Must have been ransacked when the Orcs went through the place. Damn Orcs.” The Dwarf cursed while tracing his finger across a tablet. With that motion the doors suddenly became animated with life and slowly opened itself. Looking in Foric could see a series of arms and armor layering the walls. The Deep King moved forward and retrieved a blade that sat upon the wall.

“This here is Evercut, a blade that has known no shield or armor that it cannot pierce.” The Dwarf directed the hilt towards Foric, “This is my Funeral Gift to you, Foric Grudgebearer, Grandson of Alaric the Great.”

“I thank you, Stog.” Foric announced as he accepted the blade and tested the edge, “A Funeral Gift though, how fitting.”

“Aye, you see at points where Dwarven warriors go for their final battle a weapon like this is given to them. I would have given such a blade to your Grandfather, but the bastard did not tell me he was doing it.” Stog clicked his tongue before chuckling, “Such a weapon should be just right for killing a Dragon, don’t you think?”

“It shall be.” Foric answered as he turned about, “I shall honor your gift with victory, Stog, or I fall in battle. There is no alternative.”

“Aye, I will make sure all the drinking halls know of you, just as I did your Grandfather. We might not have fought together, Foric, but I shall look after your son as if he was my own.”

“And my son shall honor our pact.” Foric announced as he started to walk away, “Good bye, Stog.”

“Honor to you and your family, Foric.” The Dwarf answered with a smile of hope.

It was a journey, the same one that Alaric had taken back in his day. Through the underground they made their way towards the Bastion of Mankind. Upon the back of his Immortal Steed, Byk, the man ran like lightning through the great tunnels that bound the two holds together.

While originally his son had started work, word had reached the King that his son was waiting for him there. Daedric was a smart man, smart enough to know things that he really should not know. To have such a head on a warrior saddened Foric’s wife, however today Foric was thankful for the education he chose for his son.

He walked into the halls below the high towers that mark the Bastion of Man. Unlike his fellow human sovereigns Foric’s father and grandfather kept the throne right where it stood. Maybe it was because Alaric grew use of it being there, or maybe it was because his own Father was not the most prudent of men.

It did not matter now, for he walked into an empty hall with none save his own son.

“Father.” Daedric said while bowing to Foric.

“So you have already gotten the word, Dardric?”

“I have. You are dying.”

“That is true. The Dark Lord’s power has latched itself to me and is corrupting my very body.”

“If only I studied magic I would have tried to rid you of that curse, Father.”

“It does not matter, son.” Foric said as he looked down towards the kneeling man, “Today I leave, and you shall rise.”

>Grant him the Sword of Fortage, and name him KING!
>Both Fortage and Byk shall be gifted, for his child must have a powerful mount for war.

As if knowing what was going through Foric’s mind, his son rose from the ground and met his father face to face. They were both about the same size, bringing them to equal height.

“Today I give you my blade, just as Alaric did with my father.” Foric announced as presented the hilt, “Know that when you take this blade you shall be at war with the darkness that lies in the world. Endless shall they come but I know you will endure.”

“Of course, I shall seek triumph against this monstrous foe.” He said before giving Foric a firm nod and placing his hand upon the blade, “I shall uphold the laws you and past kings have made, respect our dwarven allies who have been with us since the start, and defeat all who stand before me.”

“Very well, here is your blade.”

Daedric held the blade within his hands, giving it a few good swings to see how it felt within his hands, “So this is Fortage. I knew I would wield a weapon like it, but I never knew how it would feel in my hands.”

“It is the Blade that has defended mankind since the time of Alaric. Before that, well I can assume it served the dwarfs to some capacity.” Foric gave his son a smile before patting him on the shoulder, “You are the High King now son. Prepare for war.”

“Understand, Father.” The new High King said while sheathing Fortage, “And now you are off?”

“Indeed I am. We shall see how much a dragon bleeds.”

Within minutes Foric, just as his grandfather before him, was off towards the Dragon Scale Mountains.

Wind blew past Foric’s face as he and his steed ran fast through the mountains. The cold air was enough to cause him shivers as he did so. It was a good wake up to his dulling senses, knowledge in the fact that the curse was trying its best to kill him every moment made him aware that it would flare up.

It was obvious they were trying their best to stop him here and now. Whatever kind or sorcery they were using however was not enough to bring Foric down.

“Hold it.” Foric pulled on the leash that was bound to the Ragoo’s face. He had finally seen a herd of the beasts, grazing upon what was freshly exposed trees within the dreadful mountains. With a pat on the creature’s back the two of them got comfortable as they waited for the right moment.

Time went by, what felt like hours on end as the two of them waited for something to stalk these creatures. Foric was of course hoping that a Dragon would take a chance against them just as one previously had. Much to his discomfort though nothing had some up yet.

The only reprieve Foric had was when one of the beasts called out and started moving them through the mountains. Right on their tails Foric rode Byk through the dreadful mountainous pass without much issue.

It must have been an hour on the trails that something finally happened.

As they were traversing from one mountain to another, they were approaching a ravine that was hard to see into. It was a dreadful place where not only could you not see the other side, but if something was within the ravine no one would know.

For the herd of Ragoo, that was exactly what poked its head out.

A head as large as one of the Ragoo lurched out and snared one of them in its jaws. Foric felt his heart skip as he realized this beast was many times larger than what Foric had fought before. However he already knew what it was the moment his eyes laid upon it.

“DRAGON!”

It soon showed itself in all its glory, opening its wings as it took air and swallowed the creature hole. Foric took a moment to study the Immortal monster, noticing a large scare that ran across its neck.

Something awoken in him at that moment, something he did not could not place his finger upon yet.

With a yank of the rope Foric directed his beast to run forwards towards the Dragon. While it was natural for the Ragoo to flee their apex predator, Byk had grown much more fearless in his year of immortality. Without fear it began running up the side of the mountain towards the Dragon at an insane rate.

The Dragon, Immortal and Intelligent it is, knew something was up the moment its eyes glanced upon the two of them. Foric however noticed that the beast did not bear torrents of fire upon him but instead lunged forward in an attempt to swallow the two of them whole.

With a jerk the two of them were sent flying to the side of Byk tried his best to dodge the grand beast. Such moves gave them just enough room to survive the drake’s onslaught.

Foric was not idle during this exchange though. Blade in hand he began to strike at the maw of the creature and attempted to slice a good gash into its face. Occasionally he would come close to slicing at its tongue, however Foric realized something odd when his weapon narrowly went through a pair of slits it bore.

The tongue was already cut.

With a whipping of the tale the creature tried to slam it into Byk and Foric, causing the Ragoo to send itself flying into the open air.

By far this was the worst place to be. However, against that thought the two of them were right above the drake. If they were right above, than at least Foric could get some distance as he got off Byk’s back and placed his feet upon it. With might that only the greatest of men could muster Foric sent himself flying off his steed and towards the Dragon.

Foric slammed himself into the creature’s back, causing them to drop for a bit more as Foric realized he had succeeded. However that was short lived as the Dragon obviously knew that and was going to make Foric’s day hell.

“You damned Dragon!” Shouted Foric as he brought his blade down upon the beast’s back in a horizontal manner.

With a quick updraft the man was quickly pulled along at speeds only experienced by Alaric before him. Though larger, the Dragon was more than capable of reaching speeds it had nearly a century before. It was insane speeds that man could only hope to match in the future of their race.

All of this happened as the two were still going up. Higher and higher they went with Foric feeling his breath starting to shorten and heart began to beat hard. Such conditions were so hard that he almost lost his grip upon the sword.

Almost.

Through the spite of man Foric held tight and latched onto one of its many razor sharp scales. He could feel his hand bleeding as the creature finally hit the climax of its run many times above the tallest of Dragon Scale Mountain. Just for a moment Foric looked over to see the world and his entire realm before his eyes. So small it was up here, yet he knew it was the largest mankind had yet to rule over.

In that moment the creature took a dive towards the very realm Foric was looking at.

If there was enough air nearby the two of them would have heard the sound barriers collapsing around them. Instead they were sailing down into the earth with forces that no human had experienced. Foric felt his skin burn as friction with the air scratched at his form. The only thing Foric could do was try and keep his strength through the use of novice magics that he survived the way down.

The moment the two of them were near the ground, Foric felt the creature give a twisted turn, sending him tumbling to the ground with great force. What saved him was simply the large amount of snow that acted to cushion his fall.

In the next few moments Foric rose up, looking to see the dragon at the other side of what was a plateau. Foric raised himself, bringing his sword to bear against the creature with a snarl in his voice. The two were beaten and tired, Foric proving himself no slouch towards the drake.

It was then that he felt something in his heart skip, the man gripping it as he barely had any air within his lungs. Corrosive black tendrils covered his form as the Third High King was sent to the ground reeling in pain.

This was the moment he would die. The moment he could have bathed in the monster’s blood was to be denied just moments before he could accomplish it.

Even though he was dying a bastard’s death, he watched as the dragon looked towards him. The great beast was angry, but not at Foric, instead it looked towards the west with what could only be described as a snarl. He watched as lines, grifts, and sigils soon appeared across the Dragon’s Immortal body with a golden blue hue.

A wave of power crashed into Foric, shattering the curse that no man could have ever broken.

Foric had to curse himself with thoughts of wonder and stupidity. It was a simple matter of fact that an immortal being as old as the beast before Foric would have the capabilities of magic. Maybe that was one of the many reasons its blood was so potent in keeping things alive. What he just saw however was something that would have revolutionized magic, however he might not live to tell the tale.

Indeed, that is because even as he felt all his lost health come back to him the beast’s ire was upon him. It wanted this fight just as much as Foric did. It would not back down now.

“You, Dragon!” Foric called out as he steadily rose up, “If you have magics, do you understand me?”

The Immortal Being gave a growl at Foric’s words, though he felt as if the monster was agreeing. He his heart drop a little knowing that indeed he had been matching wits with an Immortal Being who was at least able to understand his speech.

“You have already cured me.” Foric announced as he straightened his back with strength restored, “Your blood would have cured it, but it seems your kind still have many mysteries for us humans.”

In response the creature huffed, as if it was jokingly agreeing with the words Foric was saying. It seemed comfortable enough chatting for just these moments it seems.

“Then I ask you, do you still wish to fight me?”

The creature gave a snarl and pawed its talons into the snow below, as if it was preparing to pounce at the Third High King. It seemed it was prepared to fight to the death.

“Very well, however I wish to ask you two things. First is a question, then a favor.”

As if intrigued by Foric’s words the creature leaned forward with anticipation.

“First I ask you,” Foric readied himself for what he already knew, “What has happened to Alaric, the man who shares my blood?”

To those words the creature simply smiled with delight as it clawed the ground in a killing motion. Then it raised the snow and threw it aside. It was at this moment Foric knew exactly who he was dealing with. A deep cut into the throat and damaged tongue, it was clear this creature was Hev the Wise claimed killed Alaric.

There was a fury in his gut, a fury so pronounce that he wanted to charge the creature. However he might be able to give it forgivness if he asked this next question.

“Dragon, I might have a chance to flee today if I try now, however, I will instead fight you to the death.” Foric said while pointing his blade towards the creature, “But in return for my life, you help my son be victorious against the Dark Lord who approaches. Are we clear.”

The beast thought to itself for a moment, before it gave a solemn nod. Soon after it assumed a battle form that was just begging for a fight.

It seems it was time to fight it.

With a roar the Dragon pounced forward just like a large cat would. However unlike the feeline beasts this one severely outweighed Foric in both size and weight. All the High King could do was throw himself to the side as a pair of talons attempted to skew him.

With the Immortal Being’s attack finished the Third High King quickly went out of the way and attempted to run himself onto the beast. A short sprint was just enough for the man to throw himself onto the creature’s back and mount the back sword in hand.

Even here though the King was thrown around with insanity. His body was thrown from one side to the other in a brutal display of force by the Dragon. Foric however held on just as his hands began to bleed a deep crimson red.

Then a lul came, Foric taking advantage of the creature’s moment of breath. He slashed at the scale body thrice with a force only comparable to that of a Ragoo in full sprint. The Dragon roared a dreadful roar as Foric saw blood spewing from the opened wound.

Knowing that Bucking is not going to work, the Dragon instead quickly threw itself onto the ground. Foric was confused at first, however when the being started rolling he knew exactly what it was aiming to do. And right now he was not in a position to stop it.

A weight closer to nearly three tones of force were then thrown upon Foric. He felt his body almost shatter under the weight and left him nearly motionless upon the ground where the creature acted.

With him off it the Dragon brought itself onto the other side of the field, bearing its teeth as Foric barely stood up. He was a goner, but at least now he gave this beast enough of a fight to consider his offer.

A phantom gun went off, to which both charged each other for one final duel.

All around the Kingdom of Man, bells rang as if they were possessed by spirits unknown. A dark foreboding call across the lands that announced the death of their sovereign and the changing of the ages.

The High Kind Daedric Grudgebearer looked out from the highest point in the Bastion of Man. Looking East he could see it slowly coming towards them. A dark cloud that blotted out the skies beyond. The darkness was on the move, meaning the Dark Lord of their generation had started his march.

All will know Foric Grudgebearer as the true Heir to Alaric’s throne. He defended humanity numerous times and brought about a reform within the church. He was the great bulwark that kept back the tides of darkness from consuming man.

There was no time for mourning though, for war is upon mankind.
