== Continuation of Chapter 5: COMRADES IN NEED ==
And so the time came. After almost a year of recovery and preparations, you and your warriors can finally depart Earth.

You’ve grown stronger. You’ve set goals for yourself beyond sucking up to Frieza. You’ve learned the potential power your people can achieve through fighting to the very end and… Perhaps even because they fight for others.
As you walk to the bridge of the ship, you see your crew,

Always close to you and with an eye on the rest are Nappa and Raditz. Nappa is still the stubborn Saiyan you’ve known all your life, but even he has mellowed out to life on Earth and learned to appreciate their techniques, if nothing else. Raditz has changed, life on Earth, meeting his brother and his child and them saving your lives, even untrustworthy as you were, made him view life differently now, but you know he is your warrior and remains loyal to the cause to the bitter end.

In a corner, cross-armed and not too willing to stick around with the rest for too long, is the Namekian from Earth. The so-called “Demon King” Piccolo, a demon king that caroused with deer and rabbits. Dour and wily, you’ve graciously taken him in as per his request, so that he may one day see his homeworld of Namek, in exchange, he will fight for you and grow stronger.

Checking the systems before departure is Turles, who invaded Earth in order to plant some sort of tree of might. He was defeated by you after some quick thinking. His power level is higher than yours due to that strange tree and he has so far not cared much about your plan to establish a sort of alliance with Earth. While you suspect treasonous intent, you’ve also seen his eyes brighten as you spoke to him of the pride of the Saiyan race and its future.

And looking through the window to the stars is Bulma. The blue-haired daughter of the genius earthling doctor, Brief. Though physically weak, she is headstrong and defiant. She stood up to you multiple times, even though a slap from you could be enough to shatter her skull, she knew the only thing saving her was her towering intellect, which has built you this spaceship, a new armor for you and your warriors, and scanners able to detect Saiyans light years around your ship.

Turles watches you go by, heading to the bridge’s front window. “Prince Vegeta.” He says. “It’s all ready. We can blast off whenever you command.”

You nod, receiving a look from a merry Bulma, who is about to go on her first space trip, you look behind you to watch the rest of your crew.

”This is it. Today begins a new chapter for the Saiyan race and the galaxy.” You say, throwing an open palm to the air to rouse those around you. Only the Saiyans present seem interested in your speech, good enough. “As we recover our long lost kin, we will form a new army that will stand up on its own, no longer bowing to Frieza.”

First, the obvious five pings are heard from the Saiyans at Earth. A while passes, and no other ping is heard. Soon the silence gets awkward, even the often cool Turles seems to be waiting in anticipation for the first proof of Saiyan life beyond yours.

And then…
Ping, ping, ping, ping, ping.

The silence is not broken by anyone. The sheer tension is bringing even you to the edge. Raditz and Nappa have their mouths agape. Turles is watching you.

Bulma raises a fist to the air. “Yes! I knew it! It works! It works!” She yells.

Nappa and Raditz look to you for guidance. What next?

Saiyans are a persecuted race in the galaxy. Ever since you heard about Frieza’s purge of planet Vegeta, you knew that he wouldn’t leave it there. Some Saiyans wouldn’t have listened to the call, some would’ve defeated the parties sent to hunt them down, some would’ve survived after all these years.

Still, if you weren’t careful, the Frieza force could find out about you, and if they did…
Frieza would send his most powerful against you.

You thought of the Ginyu Force, of Dodoria and Zarbon. The thought sends a shiver through your back and makes your dead eye twitch.

But, if you were careful, you could lose some potential allies.

Turles approaches you. “Prince. As you may know, the Frieza force is patrolling the galaxy at all times. And considering your background with them, they likely have set a good price on your head. Everyone is tracking you down. We have to avoid common travel lanes, take the long way around, keep ourselves in orbit until we know exactly what is going on wherever they are.”

Nappa shakes his head, sitting sideways on a cushioned chair, an arm resting on a table. “Who cares about that?!” He loudly proclaims, “Our comrades are out there getting blasted! The more we wait, the more die, the more soldiers we lose, the closer we are to defeat!”

He clenches a fist and slams the table, doing his best to avoid breaking it. “We get there quick, we smash our enemies, we take the Saiyans and we leg it out of there.”

You look down and cross your arms. Thoughts swirl through your head.

>”Damn the Frieza force! My warriors are in constant danger, we will head out there and find them as swiftly as possible.”
>”We must exercise caution. Take the long way ‘round. Saiyans can defend themselves form these threats. They’ve done so for decades.”
>”Perhaps we shouldn’t head for the first pings we see. Let’s go to a neutral station, where Frieza’s influence is limited and you may not be as well known, and find out information about the Saiyans.”

Posting the broad rules for the quest:

>system is a simple d100 vs DC. Application of 'best of x rolls' varies per roll!
>votes will last for ~30 minutes. Since I expect a very slow start due to the nature of reboots, I can conclude a vote at anytime to keep the quest going during my writing hours.
>dialogue choices are only there as guidelines of what I think Vegeta could decide on a single issue. Write-ins during dialogue options are highly encouraged.
>choices during battle may have higher or lower risks, and often entail higher or lower rewards. Bear in mind that sometimes, higher risks does not mean it provides a similarly high reward. Try to see which move is best for a situation, or even provide a write-in with what you think is best!
>Zenkai only occurs during a real battle for your life! You can't abuse it by being brought to near death during training, as you technically know your life is not in danger. Though if there is a real chance of death during training (for example, a gravity chamber crushing your bones) you may be able to increase even if not as much as after a real fight!
>You are not expected to be goody two shoes, and you are not expected to be pure evil bloodthirsty Saiyans. Saiyans are unique in that their nature is to be brutal and to seek fighting, but they can mellow out over time as Bardock and Vegeta demonstrated in the OG timeline, though they can hardly reach levels similar to that of a human. Do what you think is best for character development!
>Don't feel obligated to stick to Earth! You have spacefaring vessels, there's a Galaxy to explore, and I can always come up with some interesting choices.
>There will be a bunch of waifu options!

This is the initial post, the longer session won't be today!

Also, if it's available...

> Make mention of your younger and... well, weaker brother. You'd thought to leave him out of things given his Power Level of one at birth, but after seeing Kakarot, maybe it would be worth it to recover the weakling.

>We must exercise caution. Take the long way ‘round. Saiyans can defend themselves form these threats. They’ve done so for decades.”

Won't do any good if we're found out too early.

Perhaps we can attract non sayain allies as well?
>>
>>4991542
Counterpoint is that we're stronger or capable of killing all but perhaps the Ginyu Force as it stands. While we need to not jump into fights we can't win, it's still mot a huge danger for us unless Frieza manages to corner us and lock us down at one place.
>>
>>4991563
Well my point being it wouldn't take long for word to get out more than likely, then we'd be proper hunted

Would be good to see information on the Saiyans from outside of Frieza space, who knows? We might find some good leads.
>>
>>4991416
Going with this mostly because I'm not too worried about Frieza being after us. Just don't fight Frieza himself desu and we should be good. Even if they get sights on us, make sure we don't lead them back to Earth and we're good.
>>
>>4991416
Then we're going with this, but I'm taking into account the caution others wish to show.

"We'll fight whomever we need, outside of Frieza himself, and damned if we make an entrance doing it!” You say, swiping an arm to the right. Nappa crosses his arms and nods in approval, Raditz throws a fist up in the air, while Turles looks to the front window of the bridge, resting his head on his hand after a sigh.

“The Saiyans are nearly extinct and if we decide to sneak about out of concern for our lives, the worse our chances are of finding survivors." You continue.

The crew nods, except for Bulma, who merely spectates while fiddling around with the ship’s navigational computers. The Namekian has his eyes closed, likely meditating.

An excited Bulma’s eyes shine. “I did it!” She says. “We can enter light speed whenever you say, captain!”

You nod, you turn around and head for your captain’s seat, your cape flowing along with your movement.

As your crew returns to their posts, you sit down and rest your arms. “Enter light speed, we are heading for these life signals!” You throw your arm forward with an open palm.

“Aaand, go!” Bulma says and, with the press of a button, the ship’s fast travel system ignites and after a slow wind-up sound from the engines, its speed increases, the light of the stars slide past the ship. And soon, the engines maintain a humming sound and the ship has entered cruising speed.

You grip the captain’s chair’s armrest. Memories of the past come flowing back. Your father and you, watching the attack pods of your kingdom flying out to conquer other planets.

Last year, you were likely at the lowest point of your life. Your mission failed, near death, flying out with three attack pods containing your broken warriors. By the time you came out of your pods, you could barely stand, forced to receive the aid from the earthlings.

And now, though you are exiled traitors to the dreaded Frieza force, you are about to commence a project that should’ve begun long ago.

You hear the Namekian leaving the bridge, likely heading for his room. Bulma gets up, declaring she’ll be off to take a nap.

Turles turns around to look at you from his chair. “Prince Vegeta, with all due respect.” He says, waiting for your approval.

“Go on.” You reply.

“As you know, we low class Saiyans weren’t kept around by that monster Frieza. We’ve been on the run for decades.” He says. “Our war has to be slow. I’m not saying decades, but I am saying not to jump at every opportunity we have.”

Raditz intervenes. “And the prince has taken your advice, but we can’t meander any longer. The more we wait, the closer Frieza’s army is to finding out about us.” He grips his own armrest. “And if they do… They’ll destroy Earth.”

Nappa lets out a boastful “Heh.” “You two have forgotten what being a Saiyan is all about. We’re not about thinking things through or weaseling our way out of a fight.” He says. “I get what you’re saying, Turles, but if we don’t do things the Saiyan way, then what’s the point of our happy race reunion?”

Turles sighs. “I’ve already said I’d join your war. I have no reason to return from that.”

Your dead eye notices something in his ki, it seems to swirl and dissipate, dying off into the ship’s atmosphere. Turles’ eyes open wide. It seems as if it was reduced again, just like that. By your account, his power level went down by at least five thousand.

Turles looks at his hands. “No…”

Raditz and Nappa both look, astonished, at the Saiyan.

Raditz gets up. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

Though his power level has reduced, it’s still above 20.000. An angry retort by Turles sends a sweat through Raditz, “Get away!” He says. He looks at you, and you notice fear in his eyes.

He calms down after a few deep breaths. “I’m exhausted from all the work on the ship, that’s all.”

“Being tired doesn’t account for a drop like that.” Nappa says. You’re pleasantly surprised at his newfound mastery of the earthling’s technique.

Nappa’s retort is met by a glare, Turles looks to you. “I’d like to retire to my bedroom for some sleep.”

You were content with watching the scene unfold, you watch your warrior intently. He is clearly nervous when speaking to you, something that wasn’t so just a few months earlier.

>”No, you stay here and tell us exactly what is going on.” You won’t have Turles roam around the ship in this state, and you’d prefer to have your warriors with you.
>”Of course, but you will meet with me, one on one, first.” You’re curious about these sudden drops in power, and would prefer to give Turles the vote of confidence of meeting alone with you.
>”Fine, we will speak of this later.” Perhaps some rest will let Turles clear his mind and you’ll then be able to discuss his issue thoroughly.

>>4991416
As for Tarble, I've noted that we want to tell the crew about him. It'll likely be during the trip.

>”Of course, but you will meet with me, one on one, first.” You’re curious about these sudden drops in power, and would prefer to give Turles the vote of confidence of meeting alone with you.

Ah, seems like the ToM wasn't offering up a permanent boost. Sorta like uber steroids, it gave him that boost, but now he'll likely sink even further than where he started unless he starts actually training.

“Of course, but you will meet me one on one first.” You say, you then get up, turn around and head out of the bridge. Nappa and Raditz wanted to retort, but they said nothing.

Walking through the halls of your ship, you head to your bedroom, which also functioned as an office of sorts. The door slides away from your path, and soon you hear Turles walking out of the hall.

Though you half expected him to bolt for the pod hangar and run, he actually heads towards your room. The door slides open for him, and the two of you are standing only a few meters away from each other, your arms crossed and your stare dead serious.

“Care to explain what’s happening to your power?” You ask. The answer seems obvious, though.

Turles is clearly uncomfortable, his eyes veer off to the side, he watches his raised hand. He sighs. “I guess the fatigue excuse failed.” He says. “The fruit of power that I ate? Its boost seems to be temporary.”

The next question is also obvious. “What was your power level before you ate it?”

Turles seems reluctant to respond. It takes him a few seconds, but he speaks. “3.000.”

Lower than Raditz at his current level. Though Nappa was a super elite at 4.000… How times have changed.

“Were you born at that power level?” You ask, wondering if this warrior would be another proof of the increasing power levels of the Saiyan race.

“No, I’ve conquered a few planets here and there, had a few narrow escapes.” Recounting old memories brings a small smile to his face. “I was born with around 1.000.”

“So you know that a Saiyan’s power can evolve.”

“Yes, it’s apparent. Raditz and Nappa have levels well beyond their warrior classes.”

The thought of your most powerful warrior falling behind is irksome, though you don’t know what you prefer, a rebellious servant with a higher power level than you or one that is barely useful due to his weakness.

“My power level will only decrease until it’s back to 3.000, or maybe even worse.” Turles says. “When the time comes…” Fear begets him. “I’d rather be allowed to leave the crew instead of being killed for my weakness.”

>”I've no intent of killing you, but I’ll allow your leave when the time comes.” Turles could be assigned to other minor tasks and evolve through that.
>”There are ways to train and increase your strength, you will stay with us.” You want to keep Turles in your crew, even in his weakening state.

>>4992667
>"Idiot. There will be no "leave", nor shall you be falling behind. I expect you to begin training at once - to reduce the amount of power you lose, and to keep up once your body has gotten to a constant level. If Raditz can grow to be as powerful as he has, I expect nothing less from you. Besides, "SMIRK "maybe opposing Frieza so openly wasn't such a bad idea afterall. A few near death situations ought to do well at bringing you back to fighting strength."

Had it in mind to have him train with Piccolo but nah.

”There are ways to train and increase your strength, you will stay with us.” You say.

Turles can’t hide his surprise, he looks at you in the eyes, but his expression eventually relaxes, with a now relaxed smile, he speaks, “Well, that’s not what I expected.”

You smile back. “My father had a repute.”

“He killed a few of my comrades for failing when conquering planets.” His smile wanes and he looks down, the thoughts seeming miserable for him. “Even though they had their reasons, to him weakness was inexcusable.”

The more you think back to it, the more you believe he was a fool. Had he only trained and developed his strength, then perhaps the Saiyan race could’ve stood up to Frieza. Instead it all lies in space dust.

“This does not mean that they pardon you for your weakness.” You say. “You tried to take a shortcut to power, perhaps you could’ve defeated me and taken the Earth’s life for yourself. Perhaps you could’ve done that with a hundred more planets and conquered the galaxy. Yet why would it matter when a year of bad luck could easily send you down to a puny level of 3.000?” You continue.

You close your eyes. “There is no shortcut to real strength. Only training and fighting. The bug planet where I almost died proved as much to me. The things I’ve seen on Earth proved it as well.”

He nods. “What’s the plan for me then?”

“You train and grow stronger. That is your debt to me, as Prince of all Saiyans, for being the weakest.”

Filled with emotion, he grips his fist and raises it. “Yeah!” He says, a devious smile appearing on his face. “I’ll show you I can be part of the super-elite, Prince Vegeta!”

Super elite? You think of the concept, run aground after Raditz’ Saiyan power unlocked in Rekar. So easily he reached Nappa’s level and all thoughts of a Saiyan’s ‘eliteness’ seemed to dissipate.

Simply put, all Saiyans could be super elites and beyond, your strength was limitless.

“Now leave.” You tell Turles. “I’m going to rest for a few hours.”

Turles nods. “Yes, prince.” He replies, and you hear the door slide open and close as you turn around to head for your chair.

You sit in the cushioned seat, turning the chair around and looking at the stars flying by the ship. As time passed by, you let your elbow on the armrest and use your fist as accommodation for your head. Your lids open and close repeatedly and soon, sleep takes you.

Weeks pass by as the ship travels to the area where the pings were located. Each day, Bulma confirmed that they did not move from their solar system.

As routine settled in, something rummaged in your thoughts. You noticed that regular training was good enough to maintain your levels, the same was true for your warriors and the Namekian. Still, there was more training than fighting to the Saiyan life. Could there be ways to make it more profitable?

And so, you saw Bulma at the canteen and spoke with her.

Arms crossed, looking regal with your suit of armor, you speak to the blue-haired genius. “Are there ways to strain our bodies further in training?”

She was having a salad, not paying much attention to you until you asked the question. With a bite of it and the fork still inside her mouth, she’s obviously scrambling her thoughts around. “Well…” She ponders, taking the fork out of her mouth and moving it around. “I guess you could add weight on top of you, you guys are pretty light on your feet, being able to fly and all.” Something sparks in her eyes as she says that. “Hey, you know, being in this ship is pretty boring. How about you teach me how to fly?”

You let out a loud tch. “You can’t even throw a fist powered by your ki and you’re expecting to swirl it around well enough to fly?!” You shake your head. “But that wasn’t my question. We can’t be adding tons of equipment as additional weight to the ship, we barely have space for it.”

“Well, weight is relative in accordance to…” She shuts her mouth, a devious grin appearing on her face. “I’ll tell you if you teach me how to fly.”

A vein almost pops on your head, were it not for the fact that the two of you are alone… Though she did seem to keep her snarky ways to these moments, perhaps she knew you’d have to chastise her if she did these things in front of your warriors? She is the smartest earthling after all.

>”Fine, I’ll teach you how to fly, but the road is long and arduous.” Maybe something could come from this. Though her level is so absurdly low that it’ll likely take a long time before any result is shown. Time that could be spent on your own training. Still, isn't it important to learn how to teach?
>”We have Frieza on our tails and you want me to waste my time teaching you?! Someone else will do it for me.” That’s not exactly what Bulma wants, and you may strain your developing relationship, but there’s bigger matters at hand. You have to train at your own level as much as you can.
>”I don’t think you’ll do well with ki training, there’s a lot of fighting involved, you know?” If you press that point, she’ll probably feel overwhelmed by the thought of training, but also be pretty disappointed for a while. Who knows? Perhaps she does have some hidden talent for fighting...

Didn't forget about you, anon from thread 4. There's a surprising amount of Bulma with saiyan armor art, most of it is pretty mediocre, but eh, a few good ones here and there for a possible trained Bulma.

”Fine, I’ll teach you how to fly, but the road is long and arduous.” You can’t believe what you’re saying. The humans who met you along with Kakarot were by far the weakest in the bunch, the only one who came close to 2.000 was the one with a third eye. Was that one even human?
Bulma’s eyes lit up. “Really?!” She says, sliding the salad away from her. “When do we start?!”

You open your hand. “Hey now.” You say. “First, you tell me how to make better use of my training time.”

She calms down, almost disappointed. “Well, the factors that determines how much pressure your weight exercises on your body are two: The area it’s laying on, which in our case is always our two feet, unless you’re missing one of those, but eh…” She shrugs. “Wouldn’t fight much then.” She then points up with her fork, about to tell you her master plan, “Then there’s gravity!”

Of course, how couldn’t you think of that? Planets with higher gravity always made it harder to walk or fly around them. You felt strained in a few of those. But… “How do we modify gravity?”

Bulma lets out a little, mocking laugh. “Well, how do you think we’re not floating around in this tin can?” She says, almost singing the words.
You didn’t get that reference. Your glare puts the pressure on her.

“Artificial gravity. This is something my father has been studying for decades for the sake of spaceflight. We were concerned our heads would blow up as soon as we reached space with an artificial gravity device based on centrifugal force so we…”

Your look clearly tells her you don’t want to hear much more of that.

“Long story short, just as we were able to concentrate the enormous amounts of power needed to shoot a tin can across space at the speed of light, we were able to concentrate the centrifugal force needed for higher gravity and slap it on the bottom of the spacecraft without it influencing its direction or speed.” She shrugs after the last part. “Don’t ask me about that one though, my dad did all the math for it.”

“So we could technically increase the gravity in this spaceship a thousandfold?” You ask.

“It’s not that simple.” She replies. “The artificial gravity generator in this ship is not built to increase its gravitational pull at all.” She scratches her head. “Plus, if we did that, the entire ship would probably collapse under its own weight.”

“But!” She gets up triumphantly, putting a hand on her hip. “If I can somehow localize the gravitational pull effects by counteracting it with others in the ship and set up a long winded network of gravitational devices that…” She looks at you again. Your forehead’s vein clearly about to pop once more.

“Well, we’d need another generator, but beyond that, I’m pretty sure I could make a large ‘training room’ that could withstand the higher gravity and not cause the ship to implode.”

She taps her head with her index finger, thinking. “Maybe our brains would implode, but you Saiyans are made of stronger stuff anyway.” She says with a thumbs up as she looks at you.

“You’re saying you’d need to modify the ship?” You say, you expected a shorter term solution.

“Yup. Probably redesign it entirely. We’ll call it the Capsule Corps Saiyan Spacebase Mark II!” She says, merrily drawing the schematics in her head.

Since when does this ship have such a ridiculous name?! Ugh…

Later on, you were joined by Bulma, decked out in Saiyan armor gear at the ship’s training room. You told your warriors to not even think of entering the room while you trained her, you hadn’t seen the Namekian much since the trip started, he sat in his room and meditated.

She strikes a pose, her elbows by her hip and her fists clenched. “I’m ready!” She says.

“No, you’re not.” You reply, you dash towards her and she is only able to blush a few seconds after she notices you are right on her face. “Fool.” You reply. “Think of this as a fight, if I struck you now, you’d die.”

She reacts by stepping back and throwing a slap, which you stop in midair by grabbing her wrist. Her other hand reaches out and she yelps in pain. You almost feel the need to drop her, but she needs to learn.

“Hey, you’re hurting me!” She says.

“I’m only holding you so you can’t move.” You reply. “If I wished to hurt you, your hand would be limp.”

She still struggles to move your hand away from her.

You take her other hand and slowly move it towards your side. “If you want to stop the pain, you have to ignore it. Trying to unclench my hold on your arm is only leaving you open.” You say.

She looks at you, her eyes clearly full of pain. “What are you talking about?!”

“Hit me.” You say.

“But I just want to learn how to fly!” She exclaims.

“How are you going to learn how to fly without learning how your body’s energy works?!” You yell.

Angered, you see her drive her fist up to your side. It’s barely a tap, but she drives it again, then again, and again.

“Good.” You say. “As you may have noticed, my side is open for your attack.” While most of this came almost by instinct to you, you do your best to return to the most basic of basics.

“Think of that.” You continue, loosening the grip on her arm, she removes it quickly and holds on to her pained wrist. “Our bodies are tools, extensions. The better we use that tool, the more we let it flow into a battle rhythm, the more control we exercise over our own power.” You sigh, unwilling to use earthling terminology. “Our ki.”

You see her fall to her knees, a tear streams from her eye. Surprised, you take a hand to reach out to her. “Maybe I…” You say. The doubt gnawing in your mind is something you had never felt before. How many times had Raditz and Nappa been laying on the ground almost bleeding out as you triumphantly set yourself besides them? And yet for this female…

“No!” She says. “I can take it.” She gets up, her knees almost failing. “It doesn’t hurt that bad.”

“Right.” You say, removing yourself from the pity you felt. “Pain is temporary, for the most part. The more you strengthen your body, the better you’ll be at ignoring it.”

Finally, she’s able to stand. You see her clench her fist, look at you and then drive it towards your chest. You let it tap you and see that she doesn’t flinch away at the last instance, you feared she would feel bad for trying to hurt you, but it seems that her first lesson was well learned.
She stands back, frustrated at how useless her punch was.

“Good, you’ve used your body as a weapon. Now, let me explain how ki flows through our body, and how it can be used to make ourselves stronger…”

The lesson went on. You made her practice stances and basic punches of the Saiyan martial arts. A very do-it-yourself style, you were teaching her your own since most Saiyans simply learn their own styles by instinct. In an earthling’s case, there was no such instinct.

After an hour, you noticed she was exhausted. You were surprised, a Saiyan could spend five hours working out before feeling a hint of fatigue.

“Enough.” You say.

And she falls to her knees, breathing heavily. She drives her hands to her face in anguish. “Man, I’m gonna be sore all over tomorrow.”

“That’s good.” You say. “No pain, no gain.”

“Hey!” Bulma exclaims, pointing at you. “You know you can pull a muscle and be out of training for months, right?”

Pull a muscle? In training? You tilt your head in confusion.

She exhales, exasperated. “Of course you Saiyans would likely need an airplane pulling your arm for a muscle of yours to get pulled...” She gets up, wobbling around a little bit before steadying herself. “Well, whatever, I want a shower.” She walks out of the training room, the door sliding open and close for her.

You shrugged and opened the training room’s comms to call Nappa and Raditz in for your training session. Training with them was, for the most part, much more fun and exhilarating with them, and the room was especially built to sustain your ki techniques, so long as you kept them to a low level.

Weeks passed relatively uneventfully. Almost every day, you trained with Bulma, then with Nappa and Raditz, sometimes Turles chimed in reluctantly and the Namekian kept to himself. Some afternoons you spent simply watching the stars go by or sleeping the hours away, as you used to do in your attack pod, it was nostalgic.

Another day, another training session with Bulma. She was practicing her punches still, you were trying to make her use her ki, but it flailed everywhere uselessly whenever she punched. And yet, slowly but surely, you thought you could see it take form as she punched.

And then, you noticed it sharply heading towards her fist as she threw it forward, hitting a punching ball hard enough to knock it to the ground and, only dodging its comeback by falling to a side.

You both look, astonished, at what just happened. Six days of workout every week for the past month, practicing the same technique over and over, and it had finally come to fruition. A prideful smile appeared on your face as you watched the punching bag slowly swing back into position.
Bulma, meanwhile, panted heavily as she tries to regain her composure, but you could see a smile drawing itself on her face. “I did it, right?” She says.

“Yes.” You put a hand to the punching back so it would stop swinging. “That is the first step to mastering your energy.”

She got up. Usually, at a sudden victory like this, you’d think she’d be jumping with joy, but she almost falls again as she removed her hands from the ground.

“That last punch, it felt as if my life was getting out of my body.” She says, her hands holding on to her knees.

“Because you don’t yet know how to avoid wasting energy away.” You say. “Imagine your fist as a gateway, you must only let out what you use, when your fist stops or hits, the gate doesn’t close, you have to close it yourself.”

“Ugh…” She says. “So I barely did anything right?” She sits down.

“You did it.” You say. “Which is… a first step.” Is that how supporting someone works?

“Right.” She lets her back fall on the ground, still breathing heavy.

The comms light up in the room, you see Turles’ face. “Uh…” He seems to doubt for a while.

Bulma yells out so the mic can pick her up. “It’s working!”

“Right.” Says Turles. “There’s a spaceship trailing us, gather at the bridge.”

Those news sounded bothersome. “I’ll leave it to you!” Says Bulma, barely able to lift herself up.

You don’t deign a response and walk out towards the bridge.

There you see Turles, and soon enough Raditz and Nappa, even the Namekian.

“A Frieza force ship.” Says Turles. “Probably a patrol ship. Too far to feel their power levels. What do we do?” He asks. “This thing can’t exactly outrun them.”

“Stop the ship.” You say, getting up from your captain’s seat.

“What’s your plan?” Turles asks as he sets commands for the ship to halt.

“What do you think?” You respond.

He doesn’t reply to that.

Soon enough, your ship goes on with the formal courtesy expected of one being trailed by the authorities and stops in the middle of space. The light of a nearby star shining a red light on space around you.

The other ship halts, coming closer for a docking procedure.

You walk through the halls of the ship and Bulma shows up, already changed to some sweater clothes. “Where are you going?” She asks.

You press a button that opens the door to the depressurizing room. “To destroy the ship.”

A surprised Bulma tries to run for you. “Are you insane? You’re going to freeze to death! Your lungs will get emptied out!”

You look behind you, a clear confident look in your face. It doesn’t seem to be enough for her.

“No!” She yells. “This is not how physics work! You can’t just use some ki mumbo jumbo to not die in space!”

You enter the room and press the button inside, sealing the door between you and the running Bulma. The room slowly depressurizes and you fill your lungs with air, steeling yourself for what is to come.

The pressurized door blocking the way to space and the enemy ship opens. You feel the abject cold of space, your instincts screaming at you to return to the safety of the ship. It smells like nothing, a true void of merciless cold.

And you jump out, using your ki to propel yourself through the emptiness of space.

You notice a few people inside the ship rushing about as they notice you.

You throw your hands back, accompanying them with your body. “Galick…” A purple light appears and melts with the red light of the star, turning the scene into a magenta color. Your ki flows into one dense ball of pure energy between your hands.

You see some of the Frieza soldiers flying out to meet you, but they’re too late. The exhaustion you feel due to the lack of air is apparent, yet the thought of blasting this ship is exhilarating enough to bring a smile to your face.

“…Gun!” You yell as you throw your hands forward, the magenta light coursing through your entire body as you pour all of your energy forward and let a beam of light pierce the nothingness.

The ship is easily pierced, explosions quickly appear and dissipate in the cold of the void, the ship is torn into many bits that slowly float into nothing, various corpses litter the space around it.

Some of the surprised soldiers, who had already come out of the ship, watch behind them astonished, and look at you in fear.

You grant them the privilege of looking at their killer before deploying your ki sword and slashing their life away. Thus onto the enemies of the Saiyans.

Desperate for air after using so much of your ki, you fly back to the ship, the door quickly opens and you step inside, smashing the button to begin the pressurizing process.

The door to the rest of the ship opens and a desperate Bulma stands back in surprise.

Your long and heavy breaths show the strain you’ve just put your body through.

She approaches you, trying to take a hold of your hand, but you shove her away.

“What are you doing?” You ask her, offended by her sudden move.

“I just…” Her surprise turns to anger. “I’m worried! You just walked out into open space and blasted a ship?! What are you expecting me to feel?!”

“As you can see, I am fine. The ship is destroyed, we can leave this place.”

She shoves a finger to your chest. “You are so…!” She says, removing her finger and continuing her angry tirade. “I felt it before, how tired I was when that ki thing flowed out of my body. You just sustained that but a hundred times worse!”

You give up a short laugh to that sentence. “A hundred times? Think tens of thousands of times if not more!” You say, walking past her and back to the bridge.

The Namekian watches you from the other side of the hall. “You flew into space?”

You grant him a nod before entering the bridge where your Saiyans are waiting. You see a trickle of sweat on his forehead before he walks back to his room.

The three in the bridge look at you, impressed.

Turles claps. “Good show, prince Vegeta.”

Raditz seems worried. “We should’ve gone out instead of you.” He says. “It wasn’t a job worth your talent.”

Nappa shrugs with a smile on his face. “Fighting in space is always good training. Even if risky.” Though his tone then turns dour. “You never know when the cold is too unbearable, and it slowly whisks the life outta you. You can never be too prideful in space.”

You nod. “Caution must be exercised, and I’ve done so. We’re continuing, Turles.”

Turles nods back and confirms course before the hyperdrive initiates again. “You know.” He says. “A scout ship suddenly disappearing in the middle of a common travel way in this sector will look awfully suspicious.”

You smile. “Let them come.” You say, sitting back in your captain’s chair, and looking at the lights of the stars flying past your ship.

It was just another week of travel before finally arriving to your destination. You made sure that your crew had lowered their power levels as much as possible to avoid gathering the attention of scouters. An arid planet could be seen in the distance, floating along the gravity well of a yellow star.

“Anyone know what planet this is?” Asks Turles.

He is met by nos and shakes of the head. There’s millions of planets in the galaxy, no way to know which is which.

Bulma is rapidly searching through her scanner. “Alright, there’s 5 Saiyans down there, for sure. But they’re way weaker than you guys.” She taps a button on the keyboard. “Let me see… that’s 1.500, 500, 1.000 and another 500 and… 5.000.” She says, surprised by the sudden increase.

“Nothing we can’t handle if push comes to shove.” Says Nappa, slapping a fist into his open palm.

“I’m sure we’ll come to an understanding before that happens.” Raditz says, giving a friendly tap on Nappa’s back.

“Tch.” Nappa utters. “Where’s the old Raditz we all knew and loved?”

“Hey!” Raditz yells frustrated.

The Namekian’s voice echoes from the back of the bridge. “Quiet!”

You turn around and look at him. A clearly angered Nappa raises a fist, “What did you just-“

You lift a hand towards Nappa and he quickly shuts down.

The Namekian approaches the crystal separating the bridge from outer space, he frowns, concentrated, his eyes shut. “There’s other people over there.”

Raditz opens his eyes wide in surprise. “What?! You sense them from this far? We’re hundreds of thousands of kilometers away!”
A trickle of sweat streams down Nappa’s face. He looks to the planet.

The Namekian continues. “They’re noticeable enough. They have high kis, some of them higher than yours.” He says, pointing to Nappa. “Shouldn’t be an issue to the other two though.” He frowns harder. “There’s others, lower kis. It looks as if… they’re dispersing around the planet.”

“Locals?” You ask.

He lifts his concentrations, relieved from no longer feeling the stress on his mind. “No way to know, but they do seem pretty bunched up.”

Hmph. You cross your arms and look to that planet. Whoever they were, they would not be able to fight against you.

Turles lifts a hand to speak. “Well, if they’re Frieza force, then they’re looking for Saiyans and maybe we should avoid giving them proof of our existence. Get down there, pick the Saiyans up, leave. They’re weak enough as is, if they’re found out, they’re toast.”

Nappa shrugs. “Well, these Saiyans are weaklings after all, except for that 5.000, shows promise.”

Raditz sighs. “Should I remind you I used to be at 1.000 too? There’s potential in all of us.”

He smirks, “Whatever, runt.” He says. Raditz gets pissed off again.

“Enough.” You say. The closer you get, the more accurate Bulma’s readings become when it comes to positioning. She can see that four of the Saiyan power levels are bunched up and the 5.000 one is somewhere else in the planet. You’ve decided.

“We will…”

>…head all together for the power level of 5.000 first.” Whoever it is, you need their strength.
>…split up, some will head for the lower power levels, some for the 5.000.” More risk as you’re separated, but you’ll get things done faster.
>…pick the weaker Saiyans up first, the 5.000 can wait.” The weaklings have to be saved first, lest their potential is wasted away by being killed by Frieza soldiers.
>…rush the Frieza force and annihilate their center of command.” This may get some more attention from the Frieza force… Perhaps the Ginyu force may pay you a visit?

The Ginyu force generally has power levels well above 50k, for those wondering.
>>
>>4999765
>Captain Ginyu is the strongest among them, with a power level of 120,000 at maximum. Burter, Jeice and Recoome are at a similar level, which is said to be at least five times greater than Goku on Earth, making them at least at 40,000. Guldo is physically the weakest, being outmatched by Krillin; whose power level was over 10,000 at the time.

How many moons are on this planet, if any moons at all? If there are moons available then I suggest this.

>…rush the Frieza force and annihilate their center of command.” This may get some more attention from the Frieza force… Perhaps the Ginyu force may pay you a visit?

I've reworked some power levels (not too hard) to make sure Vegeta doesn't just become a Frieza force stomping machine too quickly.

Woops lol.

Yeah, no moons on this planet. As for the whole Ginyu Force thing, I don't mean they're in the planet, Piccolo hasn't detected them. Just that Frieza might smell something if suddenly a whole bunch of his soldiers die in some random planet while looking for Saiyans.

As for healing beans, nope, they're kept pretty secret by Goku and the band.

As for power levels, here's a list:

Nappa: 9.500
Raditz: 8.000
Turles: ~23.000 and rapidly descending, prone to sudden drops.
Piccolo: 6.500
Bulma (lmao): ~30. She can actually do ki punches now.

>…pick the weaker Saiyans up first, the 5.000 can wait.” The weaklings have to be saved first, lest their potential is wasted away by being killed by Frieza soldiers.

>Bulma (lmao): ~30

Seriously? Wasn't she like Lv. 1 through most of the cannon? Damn Vegeta, your really giving it to her.
>>
>>4999843
The average power level of a human is 10, according to Raditz. He measured a fat farmer though but whatever.

Now that Bulma unlocked the ki punch, she can probably beat up most average humans. She's learning how to counter, stop and deliver hits. When she can apply ki to all that, she's probably going to be around 100? Or something like that, power levels are bullshit.

…pick the weaker Saiyans up first, the 5.000 can wait.” You declare.

The orders are given, and the Saiyans in the ship head for the attack pods without a single word. Bulma gives each an earpiece and doesn’t put one on herself. She sees you eyeing her. “I’ll just stick around for recon.” She says with a nervous smile. “Those guys are pretty tough. But we’ll be in contact.” She says as she hands you your own earpiece.

You put it into your ear, you see the Namekian heading for one as well.

“I expect you to pull your weight.” You say, adjusting the sound level of the earpiece.

“I will, as I said, so long as you keep things clean and only kill when it needs to be done.”

You turn around and head out of the door towards your own pod. You see your warriors sitting silently in their own pods, cross-armed except for Raditz. This was a momentous occasion.

You lift a fist. “For the Saiyan race!” You say, and they all respond in kind with their fists in the air.

You enter the pod and see the door close with a loud hissing sound. Bulma appears in the comms to your right. “So… Sitrep? I guess.” She says.

“Get on with it.” You respond.

“Right, uh… Those four power levels are huddled up together somewhere in the edges of a meseta. Lots of dried creeks making crevices, networks of caves, the works.” She says. “If I were to guess, they’re hiding.”

Turles’ face appears in the comms as he speaks. “Of course they are, they’ve probably been persecuted for decades. Many Saiyans I knew in the early days after Planet Vegeta got blown became experts at hiding or, at least, going unnoticed.”

Nappa chimes in. “Sounds like weakling tactics to me.”

Turles shakes his head. “Those that didn’t, died. We weren’t all lucky to be handpicked by Frieza.”

“Enough bickering!” You say, exasperated. “Anything else to report?”

“Yeah. There’s some guys heading towards their position.” You hear the sound of the pods undocking from the ship, dropping into the gravity well of the planet. “So that means you guys are in a hurry!” She presses a button and your pods’ thrusters push them at blistering speeds towards the atmosphere.

You break in, seeing the heat and fire surrounding your pod and then, the dusty surface of the planet. At the speed you’re going, it’s not long before you crash-land into the meseta, your pods forming large craters around them.

The door hisses again as it opens up. You feel the heat and dust creep in. Just breathing is a challenge from the intense heat all around you. You get up and walk out of the door. Your warriors are also doing this, and soon you gather at the edge of the craters. The Namekian puts a scarf around his mouth and nose.

“Should’ve gotten one of those.” Says Raditz. The Namekian ignores him.

You sense the low kis of the Saiyans not too far from your positions. Then, some kis heading towards them. Thankfully, your arrival has likely gone unnoticed thanks to the ki suppression the earthlings taught you.

You are first to step forward, jump into the air and dash towards the Saiyans. Your warriors follow suit, all but the Namekian, who seems to have gone off on his own.

The dust and heat make it hard to speak as you fly, but you manage to ask Raditz where he went.

“No idea, he likes to work things out on his own. He’s trustworthy though.”

As he finishes his sentence, your dead eye twitches.

You see a focused blue beam heading right for you. You dodge away and dash forward to meet your attacker head on, ignoring everything around you. It’s not long before you find him and take him by the neck.

You see a warrior with battle armor and a scouter, both of his hands holding on to your arm in desperation. His expression tinted with utter terror, panting after the effort of firing that beam.

You sense his power level, somewhere around Raditz’ level pre-Rekar.

“You must be Vegeta…” He says amidst his panting. “Father or son, whichever you are, I don’t care. If you were looking for me, here I am. Take my head to Frieza.” He says.

You can sense another three power levels not too far from here. Somewhere in a cave. Then, other power levels clearly headed your way. Those must be Frieza goons.

Your warriors approach you and surround the Saiyan. Raditz lifts a hand towards you. “Prince Vegeta that must be…”

“One of the weaklings hiding in the cave.” You finish for him. “What is your name?”

Still struggling to loosen your grip, he speaks: “Karabash.” A little smirk appears on his face. “Want to know the names of the ones you kill now?”

“You fool!” Raditz yells. “Prince Vegeta is here to save you?”

“Huh?” The surprised Karabash looks at Raditz. “What are you talking about?! I know you’re all with Frieza.” He grips your arm harder. “He wants to play with his prey now? You wanna take me to him alive for some sick game?!”

Turles looks to the distance. “Prince Vegeta, Frieza’s men are getting closer.”

You frown, angered by his insolence. Still, you have to get out of here as soon as possible.

>”We’re going to get you and the other Saiyans out of harm’s way. Go and find them.” We’re gonna have to roll to convince him, if we fail, the Frieza soldiers will get here!
>”Raditz, take him back to the attack pods, forcefully if need be. The rest of us take the ones who are hiding.” Raditz will have to have to roll to force him (best of two), and Karabash will roll to resist (one roll by QM)! If we fail, he might run away, but it shouldn’t be that hard, right?
>”Enough hiding around! We will eliminate the Frieza soldiers.” Stop focusing on Karabash, he might take the opportunity to escape while you’re busy stomping Frieza’s forces, initiates a battle with Frieza’s men.
Reminder: Don’t roll while voting! We roll after the vote is over.

”We’re going to get you and the other Saiyans out of harm’s way. Go and find them.” You drop your hold on his neck and let him fly away.

“What?!” He says. “You? Help us?!” He takes deep breaths, enjoying the fact he can breathe normally once more.

“Haven’t you heard? I’m considered killed in action by Frieza’s army. But we have plans of our own.” You extend your hand towards him. “And we need all the able bodied Saiyans we can find.”

He looks at you dumbfounded for a few seconds but it seems you were able to show your sincerity, as he relaxes and peters out of his battle stance. His scanner goes off, taking him out of his daze. “Damn, the Frieza force!” He says. He looks to where they’re coming from, then to you.

“Fine!” He responds, closing his fists from the nerves. “Let’s go!”

He dashes down towards a cave, entering it. “Gisa!” He yells, “Come on out.”

You follow along as your allies get down on the ground to avoid being seen.

Standing behind Kalabash, you go wide-eyed at the sight in front of you. A female Saiyan and two children come out of the cave. The female has a power level of around 500, while the eldest child, a girl who looks about 10, has her father’s strength and the youngest, a boy a few years younger than the girl, only has a power level of about 500.

This is the first time you see a Saiyan family in decades. A man, a woman, and their two children.

Kalabash looks at you. He hurriedly speaks “The woman is Gisa, she’s a non-combatant.” You see her frightened stare as she recognizes your hairstyle. He points at the girl, who looks at you in defiance, clearly ready to dash against you at any moment, “That’s Rokka.” He then points to the boy who hugs the pants of his mother with fright. “And that’s Oshe.”

Gisa takes the young boy in her arms and Kalabash takes Rokka.

Kalabash looks at you. “Just in case it is, in fact, true that you’re helping us… You have my thanks.”

You nod. As you get out of the cave, your Saiyan warriors are just as surprised as you are at the sight.

Nappa clenches his fist. “So two of those were just kids…”

Raditz approaches Gisa, who hugs her young child to keep him protected. “I can’t believe it… Saiyan children?”

Turles, while dumbfounded at first, quickly regains his composure. “We gotta go!”

You nod. “No time to waste, we’ll fly away from here and towards the power level of 5.000.”

Raditz interjects. “What about the Namekian?!”

You shake your head. “I told him to follow, it’s his problem if he doesn’t obey.” You take out a simple device that controls your pod and send him back to the ship, as do your comrades.

Your team departs towards the 5.000 reading, you have to slow down to accommodate to Gisa, whose flight skills aren’t good enough to keep up.

Behind you, you can feel some power readings going off. Explosions echo in the distance and smoke rises from the place where the Saiyan family was held up.

Soon after, you see the Namekian dashing towards you and slowing down to reach your cruise speed.

“What did you do?” You ask.

“Scouted them out. They were talking about the rewards they’d get from some Frieza guy, so I set a trap in the cave network.” He responds nonchalant.

“We were supposed not to attract attention.”

“I think they’d expect some booby-trapping by the Saiyans.” He says with a smirk. “Don’t worry, I hid my energy mines in the dirt. As far as they know, they were hit by explosives.”
He looks at the Saiyan family at the back of the party. “Plus, seeing our pace, we needed to keep them distracted for a bit.”

You let out an audible “Tch.”. That Namekian was cunning, but there was risk to his plan. If he had been caught, the whole operation would’ve gone haywire.

You slow down to reach Kalabash. “Who’s the 5.000 amidst the desert?”

He sighs with anger and frustration. “That’s Calava. She’s with us.” He says. “She insisted that we had to hide while she went out and hunted the Frieza force.”

The Namekian seems to overhear that, and approaches you. “That seems like a bad idea. Some of the high kis on this planet were a little under yours.” He says. “If they find her, she’s as good as dead.”

An overzealous Saiyan? Who’d have thought? Her plans to attack the Frieza force will get her in trouble soon, it seems there’s no time for happy reunions and stealthy escapes.

The Frieza force pursuing you could reach you at any moment, and these Saiyans are more of a burden than anything, it’d be better to call the pods and get them to orbit.

You could guarantee their wellbeing by staying here, but you know the big guys are probably closing in on that Calava woman.

>Split up! Some of us will stay with the Saiyan family to protect them, some others will help Calava. Who will do what?
>We stay with the family and guarantee their safety, then head for Calava.
>We all had for Calava. With the ruckus we make there they’ll probably call in the pursuers as reinforcements.

“Raditz! You and the Namekian will guard the Saiyans until the pods make landfall.” Raditz and the Namekian both nod. You see the Namekian dash away, probably hoping to set another trap.

“The two of you.” You say pointing to Nappa and Turles. “With me. We will find this Calava woman.” They nod in unison and depart.

You see Raditz calling the pods to your position. “Be safe, Prince Vegeta.”

You nod and get a move on.

Comms open and you hear Bulma’s voice. “I see you guys have found some of the targets and split up. The ship is close enough to the planet to keep a constant reading on your kis, so I’ll tell you if Raditz and Piccolo are in danger.”

“Good, keep us updated.” You respond.

As you fly over towards Calava’s position. You sense some sudden outbursts of power. There’s a battle going on for sure, and after a few minutes of full speed flight, you reach what seems like a battlefield and sense two power levels. Dozens of corpses litter the ground and, in the middle of it, you spot the Saiyan woman Kalabash spoke of, that’s one.

She’s bruised, facing off against someone that seems to be of Cui’s race… whatever they were called, that’s the other one. And he’s no pushover, probably around Raditz’ power.

He looks up to you, as does a surprised Calaba. “Huh? More Saiyans?” He says and accompanies that with a laugh. “Oh, that’s just wonderful!” He exclaims. “And… Aren’t you Vegeta? With the big guy at your side as usual.”

You grant him a sneer. You were about to lift your hand to blast his puny life away, but Turles stops you. “Wait. I think this is our chance. If we show off our power now, the ones coming towards us will flee and warn Frieza. If we wait, we can destroy them all at once.”

Nappa nods. “As much as I want to pulp that fool, I’d rather wait and pulp the whole lot of them.”

Not Cui laughs again. “This is gonna get us all the way up the ranks. Can’t wait to shove it to Cui’s face. ‘Check us out, we’re hanging out with Zarbon and Dodoria now’. Bahaha!” A mocking laugh echoes. “And you’re pushovers too! I don’t get why Frieza is so insistent on wiping the Saiyans out.”

“There’s more of you?” You say.

“Yeah. About four other soldiers as strong as me and hundreds more puny low ranks.”

Calaba looks at him, abject surprise in her expression. “No way…” She says. “Damn.” She readies her battle stance. “If you guys are gonna help, you better start now, if we beat him up we’ll have a better chance against his buddies.”

You smirk. The Frieza aliens don’t notice your ki suppression. With Turles and Nappa by your side, this should not be much of an issue.

You…

You cross your arms, landing by the female Saiyan. “Not yet.” You say.

She looks at you, obviously angry. “Hey! I don’t care who you are, Vegeta or whatever, but we have to get rid of this idiot!” She dashes forward, the air she springs up making your cape flutter forward.

Turles and Nappa are behind you, watching this unfold.

Calaba heads right for the thing that isn’t Cui. He’s surprised and just barely has time to lift his arms to protect himself. Her fist slams into his forearm and he is sent back a few meters, digging his boots into the ground.

Not Cui, angered, throws an arm to the side. “Enough of this! I’ll get rid of you right now-“ But his words are interrupted by the female, who was just standing still, suddenly teleporting in front of him ready to slam her fist on his face. “How did-“ is the only thing he has time to say before getting blown away towards a rocky pillar.

You were not expecting that speed from someone of this power level, that’s for sure.

He gets up, sliding his glove on his mouth to remove some of the purple blood coming out. “You’ve done it now.” He lifts his arm and opens his palm, firing a rapid beam that almost catches her unaware. She snaps away from her position and shows up in front of you.

You can see her panting, tired and exerted. The teleportation must take its toll. “So you’re not here to help.” She says.

“We’re just waiting for the rest of them to arrive.” You respond.

She looks at you, anger in her olive visage “Waiting?! For them to gather up and kill us?!”

Nappa replies for you, “Know your place. You think the Prince of all Saiyans doesn’t have a plan?”

“Prince of all Saiyans?” She says, frustrated. “My ass!” She yells “Where were you when Planet Vegeta exploded? When so many of us got persecuted to hell and back around the stars?”

You frown. Where were you indeed. At least for that first event you were a child, but for the second… Prancing around, planet to planet, serving the man who destroyed your Kingdom.

Not Cui approaches. “Where was he? Well sucking up to lord Frieza to live one more year of course.” He laughs.

The vein on your forehead is about to pop, you close your eyes and do your best to calm down.

Things fall into a lull, as the exhausted Calaba doesn’t go for another bout just yet, and NotCui waits for his allies.

It’s not long before four figures appear on the horizon.

Meanwhile, where our companions are waiting for the pods to arrive.

“I’ll help.” Says Kalabash. “I can take down a few of the grunts.”

“Me too!” Says his daughter, Rokka.

“No you won’t.” Kalabash responds. “You stay here with your mother and brother and protect them.”

She growls at her father before turning back towards Gisa.

“So it’s true that all Saiyans are feisty.” Piccolo says, far enough to not be heard by the family.

“Not all of us. Notice the woman and the little kid. They’re non-combatants.” Raditz replies, watching the figures of the Frieza soldiers taking shape in the distance.

Piccolo lets out a faint laugh. “Well, then.” He says. He turns around and snaps his fingers. From beyond the clouds, a rain of yellow energy waves come down streaming towards the soldiers, giving the scene a yellow shine.

Hearing the call, Kalabash turns his back to his family. “I’ll be back in a bit.” He says before flying towards Raditz and Piccolo.

The three charge towards the Frieza soldiers, who are still trying to dodge the energy beams. Piccolo stays back, concentrating on the beams he’s pouring down on the enemy.

“The enemy!” The Frieza soldiers scream. “Get ‘em!” One says before being hit by one of Piccolo’s beams.

Raditz punts a few of the soldiers in the stomach, leaving them out for good. Some of his kicks and energy waves find the enemy soldiers in their private parts, a high pitched yelp being their last words before dying.

Kalabash, meanwhile, backs Raditz up. A few of the Frieza soldiers who were about to hit him in the back instead find the Saiyan’s fist or his blue energy beam. As they’re winded, Raditz swiftly finishes them off before returning to the usual grunt punting. He kicks one away, his foot strong enough to break their spine, he kicks a few in the face, sending them flying, some others he merely blasts away with an open palm.

“Where did you guys come from anyway?” Kalabash asks as he delivers a flurry of punches on one of the soldiers.
Raditz laughs. “Long story. I’ll tell you when we’re out of earshot of these fools.”

As the last of Piccolo’s light beams come down, he heads into the fray as well. His elongating arm and mouth beam proving useful more than once.

It seems the battle is going in their favor.
>>
>>5001281
The four alien commanders who were accompanying not Cui show up. You see their power levels, all hovering around 8.000 to 10.000, except for one, who is more into the 15.000s

Nappa is clearly nervous, Calaba is panicking. “Damn.” She says, holding her side “We’re done for.”

You take a hand to your earpiece. “Can you read any other power levels beyond these four?”

“One sec’” You hear at the other side. “None even close to scouter range. You’re free to go full power.”
You smirk and watch the five aliens in front of you.

There’s the member of Cui’s race, somewhat beaten up by Calaba. There’s also two tall muscular demons, with the horns and everything, one blue, one red. Another is a dark pink short fat alien, kind of looks like Dodoria, but without the spikes. The last is a light blue tall and thin one, the one with a power level of 15.000.

“Captain Rasha!” NotCui says to the tall and thin one. “Finally, now we can destroy these fools and get our rewards from Frieza.

“Quiet down, Rui.” Rasha says. Rui puts his hands to his mouth.

Rasha continues. “Bero, Reto, get the one with the hair in spikes.” He says. The horned demons smirk and take a few steps forward. “Rui, take the woman.” NotCui, now Rui, steps forward.

“Right this way, lady.” He says with a devilish smile.

“Olond, take the bald one, whatever his name was.” The pink shorty nods, walking towards Nappa.

He looks at you. “You’re mine, Saiyan Prince.” He says, entering a battle stance.

You grin.

You take a palm to the other one and slowly slide it away through the air, a sword of pure energy appears. Slowly but surely, you let your power level rise and energy swirls around you like a tornado. While suppressed, you probably seemed to be around 5.000, now you see your enemies’ faces turn from confidence to fear.

The two demons take a step back, gritting their teeth as they watch Turles’ ki swirl around him in powerful waves of blue.

Rui watches your power levels rise, his face turning into utter terror. Calaba is so taken aback she falls down to the ground on her ass.
“Wh-what?!” She mutters.

Nappa enters his battle stance and yells as yellowy waves appear around him. The rotund alien in front of him takes a stoic battle stance.

You watch your enemy and point your ki sword at him. “Now to end this.” You say.

He smiles. “How entertaining.” He says, hardening his battle stance. “Perhaps our battle will make for good training.”

You smile right back. “Hopefully.” You dash forward, and so do the rest of the combatants except the astonished Rui and Calaba and a stoic Olond (the small fat alien).

Nappa approaches him and is ready to deliver a fist, angered by the alien’s confidence. And yet his blow is blocked and his hand moved away, the alien punches the air in front of him. Nappa watches him, angry. “What are you doing?!” He yells, “This is a fight-“

The air in front of the punch suddenly swirls and impacts Nappa right on his belly, deforming it from the strength of the blow. He’s sent back and digs his feet to the ground, clasping his stomach as he pants for air.

Olond returns to his battle stance, he moves his arms into striking position and punches the air three times. Nappa is hit thrice by delayed air, once in the leg and twice in the face as he is sent back.

Turles engages into a melee with the two burly demons. Blows are blocked by both sides, Turles has to disengage multiple times to avoid being overwhelmed, which he does successfully, sending energy waves to keep them back. “Damn!” He says, “Can’t find openings.”

The demons smirk. “You’re skilled.” Says blue Bero. “But we compensate for each other’s shortcomings.” Continues Reto. “We are synchronized. You might as well be fighting an opponent with a power level of 20.000.”

Turles smiles. “Sadly for you, I’m well past that level.” He dashes forward again.

Meanwhile, at the battlefield of the Frieza force against the Saiyans…

The useless mooks are barely able to make a dent on Raditz and Piccolo, but their constant stream is extenuating. Raditz and Piccolo’s attacks flow constantly, defeating enemy after enemy, Kalabash supporting the both of them, saving up his strength in case either get hit from the back.

But he’s not watching his own back. Soon enough, a Frieza soldier holds him at arm-gun point.

“Idiot.” He says, “I’ve set this to max power, say goodbye to your head!”

But it would not be, a foot finds his head and he is sent flying, knocked out by the blow.

Kalabash watches his daughter Rokka, angry and tired form the exertion. She flies out, charging a ki attack in her hand and sending the energy wave piercing through the heart of the soldier, whose unconscious body barely reacts.

“Rokka! Get back!”

She closes her fists and looks at her father. “No way.” She says, entering the fray where Raditz and Piccolo are still doing their work. Soon, the Frieza soldiers have all fallen.

An exhausted Raditz pants to regain his composure. Piccolo senses something.

“Huh?” He says, gritting his teeth. He looks towards the skies towards which Vegeta and his band. “What’s up with that Vegeta guy’s ki?”

Raditz looks at him, surprised. “What do you mean?”

------

You approach Rasha and slash vertically, aiming for his head, but he dodges with a step to the side.

You hear a word from him, “Unlock.” And his power level suddenly spikes, a torrent of ki flies right out of him, his eyes open wide and he kicks your side before you can even see his leg move.

Rui opens his mouth in surprise. “No way!” He says. “That… That guy is making Captain Rasha use his most powerful technique?!”

You feel the sharp pain in your side, your ki sword almost fluttering out of existence. You spit blood and the strength of the kick makes you fly towards a rock, you can recover before you hit it and look back for that bastard… He’s nowhere in sight.

A sharp pain tells you of his position. His closed fist has hit your back. You take a few steps forward as you try to recover from the horrible feeling. You turn around to block his next attack with your ki sword, but he grabs your sword arm and arcs his back to send a fist to your face at full strength. Your eyes could see the enormous amounts of ki flowing in it and outside it and all you could feel at that moment was fear for your life.

His punch connects and sends you flying back again. Your body rams against the ground and tears through it. As you come to a stop, your sword fizzles out, you try to get back up, but find your arm fails. Your nose is broken, and your bad eye’s cheek is swollen.

“Vegeta!” You hear Nappa say, battered from the strange attacks of that small alien. His distraction does not last long, as he sees the alien Olond move again, and he moves to dodge the attacks that come his way, the wind whistles as it’s torn by the ki of that small alien’s fists.
You use your elbow to lift yourself up and see Rasha standing where he hit you, he bends down and his fist hits the ground, he lays part of his weight on it. “Unlock.” He says again, and he disappears.

You close your eyes to sense his ki and see him above you. You look up and see his two feet heading down fast towards you. You have time to put your arms up to block and you connect. The ground below you caves and a crater forms, a strong wind spreads around it as it clears off the impact zone.

It’s as if your arms were about to break, abject pain courses through your body as you do your best to hold your guard. The ground below you is torn and crater You see him look at you, his eyes look like a hawk’s as he stares right at you, calculating. “This is the Prince of all Saiyans?” He says, disappointed. “I wonder why Frieza hasn’t yet decided to wipe out my entire race, considering how afraid he was of yours.”

He steps off your arms and picks you up by the throat. You struggle to punch him as he lifts you up, but you feel your strength fade. How could you be defeated in just one bout? This is humiliating, you grit your teeth, you can’t even send an energy wave against him.

“Enough of this.” He says. “With a twist of my wrist, your little escapade ends.” He holds on to your throat harder and you struggle to breathe.

His dour expression does not change. “It’s a shame.” He says. “Perhaps we could’ve learned some skills from one another, in another world.”

He dares says something like that?

“Yet orders are orders.” He says. “Un-“

You hear a loud noise coming from a distance away.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT.

Captain Rasha looks behind him. A plane, in which you sense Bulma’s energy, with a machine gun that makes a hellish sound on its nose and bullets tearing through the ground a few meters away from you. “-lock.” Rasha finishes, but instead of twisting his wrist to end you, he disappears from view.

The bullets begin impacting the ground close to you and soon they impact you, but although you feel the impact of them, your armor deflects harmlessly, leaving you only a little more battered.

This sudden event drives combat to a pause in the field. You hear a comms from Bulma, static all around her voice. “Thank goodness I arrived in time.” She says. “Thank my grandpa for his ‘finishing touches’ to my air-to-space attack plane!”

You struggle to get up. As you do so, you see a terrifying view. Rasha has dashed towards the plane.

“No.” You say, holding a limp arm.

He tears through the tail of the plane and fire streams out of it, a dent tearing through the underside along the front end. Rasha stays in the skies, watching the plane fall to its doom.

Your heart beats once, twice. Your wide eyed stare looking at the scene. Adrenaline flows through your veins.

You grit your teeth, frustrated. You quite simply don’t want to let her die. She’s useful yes, but worth dying for in pragmatic terms? No. And yet…

You jump and fly towards the plane, it’s easy to reach, but not to stop. You take hold of the plane and feel the intense heat emanating from the flames, mixed with the planet’s own. You think of tearing the cockpit glass but realize the fire is way too close to Bulma and you might be too weak to safely land back with her. She looks at you with desperation in her eyes.

You hear her speak in the earpiece. “Go, I’ll be fine! I’ll probably survive the crash.”

‘Probably’ is not good enough for you. As you did once, you get in front of the plane and hold it by the nose, doing your best to slow it down. Your spent energy and the pain from Rasha’s beating make it very hard to do so.

Your back hits the ground and you spit blood. You hear Bulma’s horrified scream through the comms along with your name being yelled by Nappa and Turles. The plane uses you as a cushion for its crash. You concentrate all of your ki on your belly to stop as much of the damage as possible and slowly feel it drain away.

As much as you try to hold on to conscience, it’s fading. The plane comes to a grueling halt. Bulma opens the cockpit, removes her goggles, her eyes streaming tears. “Vegeta!” She yells. “Damn, I’m sorry!” She kneels by your side, embracing you. “I didn’t mean to be a burden, I wanted to help.”

You try to move the plane, but pain is the only response from your exhausted body. Bulma gets up and signals for you to stop. “I- I’ll do it!”

“F-fool…” You say. “This is way too heavy for you.”

She gets her hands under the plane’s nose and she heaves. It fails to move, you see her skin turn reddish from the exertion and the heat. “C’mon, piece of junk!” She yells, then heaves again. The energy flows through her arms to your surprise. The plane moves ever so slightly.

Once more she heaves, and you watch all of her energy go into her arms, half of it being wasted away, but the other half is enough for her to lift the plane. She yells in pain as so much of her energy is drained away, but she is able to move it a meter away and free you.

She falls on top of you, exhausted and crying. “I’m so sorry.” She says amidst hiccups.

You watch what’s going on with your comrades, and notice Rasha rushing through the air right for a distracted Turles. Calaba flies off to intercept him, but he deflects her hit easily and sends her flying back with a punch.

Turles looks behind him and blocks Rasha’s hit with his forearm, trying his best to counter, he fails and leaves an opening which Rasha instantly exploits, kicking him away.

“He’s mine.” You hear him say, waving away the two large demonic humanoids.

Bulma watches the scene, she gets up. “I have to help.” She says, a few steps forward and a battle stance follow. You grab her by the ankle. “Don’t even think of it.” You say with a strained voice. Blood seeps into your dead eye and you close it as the sting begins.

You then sense two kis coming from afar. Raditz and the Namekian.

Still, by the time they’ll get here, those bastards could probably destroy your other two warriors. You already see the demonic humanoids eyeing Nappa, while that Rui guy is already entering into a melee with Calaba.

Yet your strength is waning, going too far right now might be dangerous…

Can it be agreed that from now on if Bulma wants to participate in a battle, she needs to seriously step up her game? Admirable as it is, it's also horribly foolish having an untrained fighter on the battlefield. Be it undergoing a serious tutelage of the Vegeta School of knocks or learning to reverse engineer alien technology to make herself some sort of power suit. Perhaps even both. The prince won't let such valuables go unprepared.

That or actually use the dragon balls to soup her up Saiyan style. If it works for Granolah, then it's fair game here.

“Woman, call pods and get all the non-Saiyans in them.” You mutter. Bulma looks at you surprised.

“What are you talking about?!” She says, “I’m pretty sure we need all hands on deck right now!”

You shake your head. “You think I’d order you to do this if I didn’t have a plan?” A ball of ki begins forming in your hand. You feel tired to the bone, and this exertion is proving most excruciating.

“What are you doing?!” She says. “Whatever you’re planning, you better stop it! You’re gonna kill yourself!”

“Shove it!” You say. “Get out of here! Tell everyone over the comms I’m making a fake moon!”

She nods, opening the comms, “Bulma here, Vegeta is in bad shape but he’s about to throw a ‘fake moon’ or something. Piccolo, can you pick me up?”

----

Flying towards the battlefield…

Raditz hears the news in the comms, he frowns and looks at Piccolo. “Get in back to the ship, or at least very far away from here.”

The Namekian looks at Raditz, nervous. “What’s your plan?”

“Remember what our tails do?” Raditz says.

Piccolo nods. “I’ll pick up Bulma and get her out of here.”

Raditz responds with another nod.

Piccolo looks at Raditz. “Be safe.”, he then puts all of his ki into a blast forward to reach Bulma as swiftly as possible.

Raditz watches him surprised, but soon centers himself again. He had to reach the battlefield before turning into an Oozaru.

----

As the huge amalgam of ki in your hands takes shape, you watch your warriors struggle against their enemies. Turles is barely keeping up with Rasha’s sudden power-ups, having to block or dodge his attacks and being unable to retaliate. Nappa has fired his mouth blast at the small alien, who stomped his feet on the ground and blocked it with an open palm with great difficulty. The two demons, meanwhile have finally decided to dash towards Nappa. Calaba has just delivered an uppercut on Rui’s jaw.

You see the Namekian land right beside you. He looks at the plane wreck right beside you, surprised. Bulma ties her flight helmet up and gets on his back, she looks at you one last time, you see a mixture of sadness and anger in her face. “You better not die!” She says.

You try to laugh, emphasis on try, the laugh soon turns into a painful cough as your lungs give in, and the Namekian flies away at full speed.

Finally, with the non-Saiyans out of the way, it’s time to unleash your full power.

You yank your upper body up and swing your arm upwards, sending the ball up.

Your enemies look up. Rasha seems cautious, stopping his duel with Turles, as does Olond with Nappa. Your other foes seem wary and scared.

In the sky, the ball stops.

One heartbeat. Two.

Your eyes go white, your chest pulses. The ecstatic feeling of the transformation overwhelms you and you can’t help but laugh devilishly, as do your warriors.

As your body contorts, you get up, slumping forward after getting back on your feet.
>>
>>5002477
Rasha looks around and realizes what is going on, in a panic he screams new orders to his men. “Retreat!” He yells, his surprised officers look at each other.

You see Raditz arrive, and as soon as he does so, he also begins his transformation.

You feel your body grow in size, hair appearing all around it and your feet turning ape-like. Soon, you enter the final stage of the transformation, your body goes for one final push and a snout appears on your face.

You and your warriors bellow as you feel the glorious strength of the Saiyan’s primal transformation. Five Oozarus stand together, banging their hands on their chests.

“Unlock!” You hear, and see Captain Rasha and his comrade Olond dashing away from the area, the latter seeming to surf the air.

His other officers are in utter shock, and though they begin to run, their minds have not reasoned that their best way out is to simply fly away.

Their mistake.

Your warriors are already looming over them. Calaba has taking the puny Rui, who’s desperately firing beams at her face, but what can that do against a power level of 50.000?

The frenzied Oozarus always listen to the leader of the herd. With a bellow you can order some of them to follow you. While a few deal with the runts here, some should head for Rasha, and you being the only one with the use of reason at the moment, you’ll have to take the role of the pursuer.

>Race to their ship to destroy it, they will have no way out! If they get there first though, they might be able to flee.

Your voice booms through the arid plains. “Turles!” You yell, he flies right over to your shoulder after dodging a few frenzied Oozaru swipes.

He lands on your shoulder pad, putting a hand to your face to support himself. “We will leave the rest to deal with these runts.” You say. Calaba is gripping Rui ever harder, Nappa and Raditz are trying to hit the demon brothers, who fly around to dodge their blows, but soon enough, one is hit and thrown down to the ground by Raditz, and the other suffers a mouth blast from Nappa.

You jump in the air and dash forward. The heavy figure of the Oozaru is, in fact, faster than your regular form thanks to the awesome increase in energy it provides.

You hear the comms come in, Bulma’s voice rings in your ears. “Vegeta!” She says. “We’re back on the ship. Head towards direction 250, it’ll be a straight line from where you are.”

That’s exactly where Rasha and Olond were headed, as you imagined, they’re going for their ship.

Turles speaks to Bulma. “Are we going to overtake them?”

“If that gigantic ki headed right for the enemy ship is Vegeta, it’s a pretty close shave…” She says.

He shakes his head. “Not good, if they get there first-“ He’s interrupted by your hand gripping him. He slaps your giant fingers. “Hey!” He says, “What are you doing?!”

“There is only one way for one of us to get there faster.” You say.

Turles’ heart sinks as realization sets in. “Don’t you dare!” He says. “I swear I’ll-“

You take a more vertical position and heave your gigantic arm backwards, the wind whistling as you rip through it. “Go! Your true test of might starts here!” You bellow, then arc your arm forwards with all your strength and throw him.

The throw is clumsy at best, instead of sending him flying like a javelin, he’s flying vertically and he has to readjust, losing a lot of velocity.

Rasha and Olond see their scouters beep, they look up and see the figure of Turles barreling through the wind as he attempts to recover flight form. Olond frowns, “Rasha. This isn’t good, we’re not going to make it.”

Rasha shakes his head. “We are. Unlock.” His ki swirls around and propels him forward, but he runs out of steam halfway through, panting across the wind. Olond is even able to reach him once more.

“Running out of juice?” He asks.

Rasha frowns.

You hear various insults from Turles muffled by the wind all around him, and questions from Bulma wondering how Turles got so far ahead so quickly.

Turles finally recovers flight form and pours all of his strength into flying. “Damn!” He says. “I thought my neck was about to break.”

In the distance, you see the silhouettes of Rasha and Olond. The short fat alien looks back towards you, then to Rasha, and he slows down until he eventually blocks your path.

“I owe a large debt to Rasha. And I will repay it.” You hear him yell frantically, taking a battle stance, he gathers his strength and fires a huge gust of wind towards you which you can easily dodge thanks to the distance between you.

Is that… honor in the Frieza force? Who would’ve thought? Interesting. But is it interesting enough for him to remain alive? Whatever you do here, you should be able to easily destroy him.

>Mouth Blast that fool! You will annihilate him for being so impudent!
>A single punch of the mighty Oozaru form will be enough to knock him senseless. He has piqued your interest, you don’t want to kill him just yet.

Break an arm and leg for good measure. Also break any communication devices he has.
Now that I think about it, any scouter reading power levels above 9000 should explode or something I think.

Either that connection is mutual and we can use him to get Rasha to stand down, or we can show him that the Frieza force doesn't care and and turn that loyalty to us.

Olond watches you approach, measuring the distance, he throws both of his hands back, then forward. A huge circular gush of energy-powered wind appears in front of him.

Though it’s a good attempt, it’s nothing that could slow you down. You make sure the area that enters in contact with the wind shield is the least possible and get right through it.

“Out of my way!” You yell, your fist steers back and you throw it forward with your full strength.

Olond freezes in his stance, putting only one forearm up. “My debt is repaid, Rasha!” He yells as your fist contacts his forearm. For a split second, he holds you down and makes you slow to a crawl, but his forward foot is lifted first, then the next, and soon he is sent to the side flying away, his arm broken and him unconscious and bleeding profusely.

He held you but for a few seconds, fool. You bellow in victory and slam a fist to your chest as you give chase to your prey once more.

“Bulma.” You hear Turles’ voice, he seems calm. “I’m at the ship, where’s the power level that was right behind me?”

She seems confused. “Uuh… He’s… completely still.” She says.

What?

You see a silhouette in the distance, a tall and thin humanoid. Rasha, fists clenched and with a solemn expression, watches you come to him…

---

Raditz tries to swat one of the demon brothers, Calaba throws the unconscious body of Rui away and it slams into the ground, Nappa tries to kick another of the demon brothers.

“We’re like flies to them.” Says Reto. He expects his brother to reply, but hearing nothing, he looks for him.

He finds Bero just barely dodging Calaba’s fist, which buries itself into the ground. But soon after, Nappa’s mouth blast engulfs him completely.

“Bero!” He yells before dodging Raditz’ pummeling with a jump to the air. Was his brother dead? Reto frowned and closed his eyes, trying to strengthen his resolve as the apes below him pummeled their chests in defiance and victory. Their yells piercing through his eardrums.

He then charges his ki. “Hell drill!” He yells, his body begins to rotate at a high speed and he charges down towards the ground, burying himself. The Oozarus watch him perplexed. They dig around the hole he made, trying to bring him out, but he has gone so deep it would take them hours. Frustrated, the three Oozarus start to destroy and pummel rocks around them.

You land close to Rasha, the two of you face off as a gust of wind carrying sand passes by. You notice his clothes are dirtied and his skin is scrapped, as if he had just had an encounter with the ground.

“Is Olond dead?” Rasha asks.

“Shouldn’t have left him behind if you were going to ask that question later, fool.” You say, your voice echoing through the desert. You repress the desire for revenge your primal mind is focused on. Sometimes, the Oozaru form seems to think on its own.

A wan smile appears on his face. “Well. Let’s finish this.” He says, setting a fighting stance.

Through your earpiece, you hear Bulma’s voice once more. “Vegeta! The guys back in the battlefield got the better of your enemies. They’re done for over there.”

Turles’ voice comes into the comms as well. “I put the Frieza ship into safe mode. It’ll take hours for anyone to get through the safety measures and pilot this thing.”

You watch the figure of Rasha, he’s breathing heavily, sweating under the sun. For all intents and purposes, the battle is over, he’s lost.

And now for everyone's favorite part:

ZENKAI

So uh, I still didn't make up a good system for Zenkai boosts (Neither did Toriyama), so I'm keeping up with a variable number + set number. The latter being higher or lower according to 'potential' which is NOT determined by Saiyan warrior classes. I'm thinking of it being determined by something a bit meta, like the Saiyan's 'will to live'. If they have a family, or are dead set on a certain goal, or have responsibilities they have no wish to leave unattended, their set number will be higher.

In Vegeta's case, we have a blossoming care for Bulma, sure, but we also have a very important goal: To guide the Saiyan race towards a proper rebirth and to avenge the destruction of his birthright by Frieza. This gives him the highest set number of all the Saiyans in his crew, as he feels that it is wholly his job to do this and do it right.

Raditz, for example, wants to protect his brother and his nephew back on Earth. He also wants to serve Vegeta as best he can and work towards the goal of reunifying the Saiyans. Nappa wants to follow Vegeta to the ends of the galaxy and destroy Frieza. These two have a middle of the line set number.

Turles would be the one with the lowest set number, as currently he's not sure of what to do next. He's following, for sure, but he does not have the same drive or passion as the rest of your crew as you haven't been through enough together to instill it onto him.

You lift your gigantic hand in the air and close it, the energy of the fake moon begins to dissipate into the skies of the arid planet.

The Oozaru form does not last, soon the snout retracts, hair begins to recede and your body shrinks back down to a regular humanoid form. You are full of bruises and some blood still seeps out from your nose and mouth, but assuming the Oozaru form was able to remove the worst of the damage you suffered.

Rasha eyes you warily. “What trick are you playing at?”

You shrug. “Considering your situation, it seems fairer this way.”
He frowns, gritting his teeth. “I don’t need your pity!” He says as he dashes forward towards you.

You block his first blow, clearly not as strong as before. That unlock technique probably releases a lot of his energy in one swoop, then swiftly retracted it. You find yourself in deep thought as you block his blows, wondering how such a technique works. It has no need for a moon, or an energy expensive fake moon.

He sends a kick to your head which you block with your forearm.

“How?!” He says, returning his leg to the ground. “This…” His scouter analyzes you again. “You’re at 25.000?!” He says.

You sense his energy. “And you seem spent.”

“Damn it!” He curses. “Olond… For your loyalty’s sake.” He closes his eyes, striking a fighting pose. A vein pops up on his head, and his eyes are bloodshot. “Unlock!” He yells, and the ground below him quakes and breaks as his energy flows out once more.

You strike your own pose. Time to end this.

>Tail slicer & Attack! A distraction for the tired enemy, his senses are not sharp enough to see you coming from behind afterwards! Lower difficulty, may set you in a favorable position for your next attack.
>Galick Gun! You will end this in one fell swoop with your newfound power! High difficulty, high damage.
>Energy Blast Volley! He won’t be able to dodge if there is nowhere to dodge to. This is low damage, but will impede a proper attack from him.

Why did Vegeta lose against Goku in Saiyan saga?

How'd Raditz get beaten by Piccolo and Goku when their combined power barely reached Raditz'?

What the fuck is going on after the Frieza saga?

Why do Zenkai boosts go from 10k increments to hundreds of thousands to millions?

Power levels are bullshit

Jokes aside, let me point out the actual reasons why I went for that route:
-Rasha's Unlock technique spikes his power level by a lot, and that was his chosen move at that moment.
-Rasha got a crit (it's either an insta-win or an almost win unless the power difference is very sizeable)
-He didn't actually win, even though my writing has shown that poorly, Vegeta could've actually done a last ditch attack if Bulma didn't intervene.

Rasha dashes forward, leaving a trail of dust behind him as he gets ever closer to slam his fist to your face. This time, you’re able to see him. The move does not surprise you anymore and your renewed strength along with his failing body make it much easier to dodge him with a step to the side.

He slams his foot on the ground and uses it as support to dash back towards you again. This blistering speed being almost incomparable to any you’ve seen up until now, but what Rasha sees still takes him by surprise.

Your two hands open in front of your forehead while your eyes are shut. His wide-eyed look only worsening what is to come.

“Solar Flare!” You yell, and a blinding light comes out your fingertips. You hear Rasha yelp.

“My eyes! What?!” He says. You open your own eyes and see him struggling, having taken his hands towards his face in a futile attempt to get the horrible sensation off of him. You use the opportunity to knee his belly with all your strength, he spits blood and flies off to the distance, slamming on the ground and bouncing off it a few times.

You fly up and close on his position at an angle, on one of your hands you prepare a Tail Slicer, the ki flows out of you into a disc that rotates as fast as light.

Rasha gets up, striking his fighting pose again, he’s clearly struggling to even hold that. “Where are you?!” He asks, still unable to open his eyes. “Trickster!”

You bend your body back to launch the disc with all your strength and then throw your hand forward, the disc flies off towards Rasha. He seems to hear it right before it slams onto him and is able to slow it down with his hands. The energy lacerating both them and his chest armor, eventually reaching the belly.

“Gah!” He yells. “Unlock!” The ground quakes beneath him once more and with an outburst of power he is able to pick the disc with his hands and send it flying off into the distance. He remains in the same pose as when he threw it for a moment, panting, before rotating to fire a concentrated beam towards the general direction the disc came from. He misses you by a long shot.

And then, he slumps down and lays there unmoving. You approach and quickly notice that his last effort drove him to utter exhaustion. He’s unconscious.

You feel the ki of Raditz flying towards you, he lands close.

“Nappa and Calaba are making sure the demon guy who hid in the ground doesn’t escape.”

“Hid in the ground?” You ask, looking at Rasha.

“Some weird technique where they kind of… uh… dig through the ground and cover themselves up with dirt again?”

“And you haven’t killed him?” You ask.

Raditz gulps. “Not without your order, sir.” He then looks down towards Rasha, a trickle of sweat flowing down his forehead. “Are you going to kill him?”

“We’re done here.” You say. “And I can’t very well let him get back to Frieza.” You lift your hand and through your open palm flows a large amount of ki. You frown, something gnawing at the back of your mind, but you’re unsure what. Oh well, the ki turns into a ball that you ready to throw at Rasha. Raditz watches the scene with a grim expression.

“Wait!” You hear a voice behind you, not letting go of your ki, you tilt your head to see who speaks to you.

Olond, the short fat alien, has seemingly survived the Oozaru’s fist, though the entire right side of his body is battered and his right arm is hanging limp. He’s flying towards you and lands close, exhausted.

“Take me instead.” He says.

Raditz, surprised, looks at you intently. “Prince Vegeta, should I get rid of him?”

A myriad thoughts swirl in your head. “And why shouldn’t I kill the both of you?” You say.

The fat alien grits his teeth. “For honor’s sake!” He says. “Not once have we fought you in a treacherous manner.”

You spit back a reply, “And what of your men?! They were going to kill Saiyans, my people.”

“Those were Frieza’s orders, not ours.” He says. “We simply led the operation…” He looks down, dejected. “I understand what you mean, but… Please think of it this way: We failed.” He says, his good arm being brought up to plead. “Just like you at the Rekar operation, we failed here at Vertes. We’re not fools! We know Frieza will kill us if we return.”

You look at Rasha. “And does he think the same thing?” You stare back at Olond. “Or are you thinking of betraying us later, hoping to receive Frieza’s mercy?”

The small alien looks utterly offended. “Frieza’s mercy?!” He yells. “Damn Frieza and all his kin! I don’t give a damn about him or his empire, but I’ve got nowhere else to go.”

His angered outburst subdues, and he sits cross-legged on the ground, his eyes closed. “Do you know how many in Frieza’s army are in that very same position?” He asks. “Strong fighters who simply have nowhere else to go, and are too strong to not be in Frieza’s radar…”

You see his him grit his teeth harder. “There is no place in this galaxy safe from Frieza’s lapdogs. And if you’re strong and aren’t under him, then you’re prey to be hunted down and slain.” He says. “He takes no risks. You know that well.”

“He took one.” Raditz says, then looks at you. “And it’s coming back to bite him in the ass.”

Olond’s expression turns grim. “Aye, well…” He puts a hand on his knee, the other arm still not budging from the pain. “The truth is, you could kill us both and be done with it.” He says. “Or… You leave us alive and we owe our life to you for showing mercy after what we’ve done.”

Mercy is not a word in the Saiyan vocabulary, though pragmatism was recently added. You let the ki in your power ball flow back into you and bring your hand down.

“To me, you are still my enemies until you’ve proven your loyalty and worth.” You say as you glare at Olond. You approach him and offer a hand. “Any slight hint of a betrayal will be punished with death.”

Olond’s expression turns into a dumb, jittery smile of joy. “Thank you, lord Vegeta.” He says as he takes your hand and gets up.

Raditz watches the scene, confused. “But, Prince Vegeta… They’re… Not Saiyans.”

A wan smile draws on your face. “If we’re going to defeat Frieza’s empire, we may need more than just Saiyans. Have we not accepted support from others already?”

He looks down. “I see.”

You take a hand to your earpiece. “Woman.” You say.

Bulma’s voice replies. “It’s Bulma!” She yells, battering your eardrum. “What is it?!”

“You should not speak like that after I saved your life.” You say, irritated.

“You saved my life and I saved yours right beforehand!” She retorts, you can almost see her pout in front of you.

Your wan smile grows wider. “I could’ve gotten out of that situation myself, who asked you to help?”

“You ungrateful little…” She says.

You end the useless exchange. “We have taken prisoners.”

Nappa and Turles’ voices chime into the comms. “Prisoners?!”

That term, also, was not in the Saiyan dictionary.

“Why?!” You hear them both ask.

“If you want to challenge my decision, come and fight me. Otherwise, I’d like to continue speaking with the woman.”

They both reply with quick ayes.

“You Saiyans are a grim race, you know? How are they surprised that you left someone alive?” Bulma says.

“I’d best not show you my track record.” You reply. “But to the matter at hand: These prisoners can’t be taken in just like that. They’re strong and could escape at any moment.”

“Oh, I’ve got the solution to that!” She says. “Beyond our spaceship being especially armored to resist energy blasts, I’ve made specialized handcuffs that can block ki flow!”

Huh. “When did you do that?”

“Oh, back home when I still wondered if you had the genocidal intent of wiping my entire civilization off the planet, you know.” She says.

An awkward silence follows.

“It was a joke.” She emphasizes. “Ugh…” An exasperated sigh follows. “I didn’t even know how ki worked back then!” She says. “I’ve prepared them after I started my training, but they’re still prototypes and their effects take a few days to kick in, which is enough when time considering those aliens probably need to recover.”

“Send some of the handcuffs down with the pods.” You reply dryly.

“Hey… You know that was a joke, right?” She says, her voice showing a slight hint of worry. “I trust you.”

You look away from both Olond and Raditz, your cheeks start burning hot.

“Enough!” You say loudly and frustrated. “Send the pods down already!”

You stand there waiting, gusts of winds signal the arrival of a sandstorm soon, but Rasha is still unconscious and Raditz has a hand pointing at a resting Olond, who has fallen asleep in the same position he sat in, sheer exhaustion took him. Raditz spares you a look. “I think uh… Bulma might…”

Your glare quickly shuts him down, he looks away.

Turles and Nappa’s ki appear on the horizon and they land close to you.

Turles watches the scene. “Why are we taking these guys in?”

“Simple enough. Interrogation and recruitment.” You reply.

“Recruitment?” He says, surprised.

“Do you think we can simply take on Frieza with whatever small amount of Saiyans we can find out there?”

Nappa takes a hand to his chin and starts to think. “And we’re probably the most powerful Saiyans in the whole galaxy. Yet we had to struggle against these fools, and we couldn’t even budge Frieza with our strongest attacks. Perhaps we might need more muscle if we want to take him on in the short term.”

You’re surprised at Nappa’s sudden… thinking. “Well put out.”

“Yeah.” Turles says, “But we only need you to grow strong enough to beat Frieza, Prince Vegeta.” He continues. “If you do that, you can kill him and take his place.”

Take his place? It had never occurred to you. Whoever kills Frieza would likely be the strongest in the galaxy afterwards. But do you want to rule Frieza’s empire, full of cruel and backstabbing underlings?

Or perhaps make something new.

You shrug. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.” You say. “This is my decision on the matter. If I want to change it, all I have to do is turn these two fools into broken atoms.”

Turles shrugs back. “You’re the Prince here. What about the ship?”

“Have you made sure it’s untraceable?” You ask.

“Yeah, Frieza ships have a whole bunch of tracer chips on them. I tore them all up.” Turles replies.

“How’d you know?” Nappa asks.

“One of the big risky black market businesses in this galaxy is to board Frieza ships and take them to neutral stations for reselling. You have to know exactly how they work, but that was some mean profit back when.” The memories seem to bring a smile to him. “That’s how I first got my hands on the seeds to the Tree of Power, some backalley old crone sold them for a fortune. She was stronger than she looked, so I gave it a go.” The thought of them being gone brings him down though.

Backalley crones selling seeds of a powerful tree for a fortune? What a weird story.

“Well, commandeer it, Turles. We’re taking it back with us.”

Olond and Rasha are carried into power pods and Turles, Raditz and Nappa get into three others. Calaba has apparently flown up to the ship on another, and you step into the last one.

As you sit, you feel a relief you hadn’t felt in a while. Your body had gone through so much in just a single day and you were so very exhausted…

“Vegeta.” You see your father towering in front of you. “Our race is destined to greatness.”

You watch the attack pods flying out towards the atmosphere of Planet Vegeta. Your father’s voice echoes again. “One day, we will conquer this galaxy.” He says. “And you will be the first its King.” He puts a hand to your hair. “Make us proud.”

Your eyes open wide and you return to reality, the pod whirrs as the door to the ship opens, you take a moment to compose yourself and get up. You see Nappa, Raditz and Turles taking Olond and Rasha deeper into the ship. After they disappear, you see Calaba, the female Saiyan with a power of 5.000, standing in front of you. A scouter on her eye reads your power level.

“The strongest Saiyan in the galaxy is a merciful wimp?” She asks.

“Who asked for your opinion?” You ask back.

She smirks. “You know nothing of this galaxy. Mercy is a dish best served sparingly.”

9k characters update? More likely than you think.

Fun data on Vegeta quest.

Did you know that, right now, all the stuff I've written for Vegeta quest makes up 141 word pages? The 4chan spacing makes it take up a little more than the usual book, and I put a title line for every single update but even if I were to be pessimistic about how much space each meaningful line takes up compared to a regular book, we'd probably be talking about at least 100 pages at font Rockwell size 11.

Also, the first word document for Vegeta Quest has stood unmodified in my HDD since 2nd of August 2019. The whole Rekar expedition along with our meeting with the earthlings and the arrival of Turles' spaceship is in there. It's kind of nostalgic.

They're out of the picture, up to head canon if they're dead or not.

As a QM, I won't ever go the wily way and see if you just 'forget' about something that may bite you in the ass later. Vegeta is smart enough to take these things into account. If something goes unmentioned you can always ask, but there's no need to wonder if I'll use it against the players at some point.

"Mercy is a tool to be used just as anything else - we've seen how fear has benefited Frieza in his time of rule. Mercy can be as useful, especially in a time such as this where allies become more and more important," You smirk, she’s listening to you intently.

“For example, were mercy not sometimes useful, I'd have sooner done away with you using only a fraction of my power for daring to question me. Isn't it funny how wonderful mercy can be when you're on the receiving end of it?"

She takes the threat with surprising calm. “I guess I get where you’re coming from. Not that my opinion matters.” She says. “But truth is, this isn’t only about mercy and pity, is it?” She crosses her arms and leans back onto the ship’s wall. Her tail swirling behind her. “If all you’re seeking is allies, why go for weak Saiyans beyond some silly sentiment of racial unity?” She chuckles. “There’s something more to it, isn’t there?”

She leans off and approaches you. You stay still, glaring at her.

She takes a hand to your plate, eyeing her finger which now caresses your chest, her tail now swinging around in a tantalizing manner. “It’s the same reason why Frieza destroyed our home, isn’t it?” She says, her finger going up and down your chest. “It’s the same reason why my power level increased from 1.000 to 5.000 in one swoop after I was saved by Karabash and his family.”
Your stare does not budge from its initial glare

Her eyes go up towards yours. “We’re the soldiers for your power grab. That’s all we are to you!” Her voice is like venom, she retracts her hand and swings her arm back then forward, punching your chest, you hear the air break around her fist as she does so. Yet there is almost no pain and you only have to take a step back to withstand her force.

She steps back. “You super-elites are all the same.”

She’s got guts, you wonder how long she’s brooded on those thoughts about super-elites. A year and a half ago, you would’ve shattered her spirit before destroying her. Now, in a way, you feel a hint of nostalgia, her demeanor was that of a pure, hot-blooded Saiyan.

>”So what if you are? You owe me your life and you will fight for me.”
>”Your mind is sharp, but you assume a lot of things. I trust a Saiyan more than I trust anything else in this galaxy. That’s why I seek them.”
>”You assume many things. Eventually, you’ll understand why we’re doing this.” This conversation is over.
>>
>>5014600
>>”You assume many things, but by clinging to the class-based mentality of a dead planet, you blind yourself the truth and the possibilities. The concept of the super-elite is no more, in neither class nor mentality. With this newfound power, the saiyan race has changed forever. You’ll come to understand that one day.”
It’s funny how she herself acknowledges the zenkai but doesn’t understand the implications of it. She’ll get it eventually.

You return to your original position, eyeing her. “You still cling to those old ideas? The class-based mentality of a planet torn 20 years ago?”

She glares at you, thinking you’re mocking her.

“There are no more super-elites, neither in class or mentality. Our race is nearly gone, we are scattered to the four corners of the universe, hunted down or forced to hide like cowards.” You say, your tone denotes anger and spite accumulated for decades.

“With our newfound power, our race has changed forever.” You say, gripping your fist. “And now I finally see it. What I should’ve been doing for a long time.”

She looks at you, you see her expression turned from a glare to astonishment.

You look her in the eye. Her stare takes quick peeks at your milky white dead one. “I am the Prince of all Saiyans!” You proclaim, sweeping a hand to the side. “They are my people, living as we do is an insult to our pride and strength.”

You approach the doorframe towards the rest of the ship, calming down, you give it a strong tap with your fist. “Yes, I seek soldiers. Because putting an end to Frieza is what we must do. To avenge our past, and to ensure our future.”

A silence falls on the scene. Calaba is staring into your neck. “Things really have changed, haven’t they?” She says, taking a few steps forward towards you.

“Just two years ago I heard of the Saiyan princeling who had a cozy life at Frieza’s mothership.” She continues. “Living the high life because he was King Vegeta’s son, and had the highest power level of all Saiyans. He was born a super-elite.”

A hand of hers touches your back. “My father told me never to trust Saiyans who would still serve Frieza after what he’s done.” A small break in her voice reveal the emotion behind that last sentence. “He died, you know? He died protecting me from Frieza’s men.”

She hugs you, her arms wrapping around your belly. You feel the warmth of her body. You stare at the ground in shame.

“He died lost, with no purpose except for me. Without pride, without his comrades. Without a King.” She says, sobbing between each word. “Why didn’t you say those same things you just said, ten years ago?” Her tone is accusing, but the accusation is clearly empty, she doesn’t want to know why. “Why did Taliso, father of Calaba, die without purpose?!” She yelps.

You take a hand to her embracing arms and move them away, she stands back, holding back tears and sobs. “I…” You say, but words won’t come out.

What is this feeling? Pity? Remorse? Compassion? You feel the tears well in your eyes as you look down, wide-eyed, at the ground. Where had you been? What had you been doing after reaching your adulthood twelve years ago?

Destroying, pillaging and venting like the child you were. A single teardrop falls from your eyes to the ground, but you refuse to let any others fall. You take a glove to your eyes and dry them.

“Serve me.” You avoid the cracks in the voice that could come from emotion. “And Taliso will be avenged, as will all other Saiyans who died.”

“I will.” She says, also regaining her composure. How long had she been waiting to lay the blame on you?

The door opens for you and you step into the rest of the ship. You see the Namekian handling Yoshe and Rokka, while Gisa tries to negotiate their reentry to their rooms. Karabash, meanwhile, is speaking to Raditz and Nappa. He sees you appear in the doorframe and approaches you.

“Prince Vegeta.” He says. “Please, receive my gratitude for helping me and my family.”

“Gratitude is not what I seek.” You reply. “Though I will accept it.”

He smiles a funny smile. “Of course, I’ll serve you in your New Saiyan Army.” He says. “My power level is puny compared to yours, but please expect much training from me. I will rise to your expectations.” He continues, he peeks behind you. “By the way, is Calaba back there?”

“I believe she needs a moment.” You respond to that. “Your training regimen will be four hours a day, every day, accompanied by me and my men. We won’t go easy on you.”

“I expect you not to.” He retorts. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got two brats to blast back into their rooms.” He heads back towards the commotion.

Raditz and Nappa both excuse themselves to their room, exhausted after a hard day of work and as Karabash forces Yoshe and Rokka to their family unit bedroom and the Namekian heads back to his own room, you find yourself alone for a moment before heading back to your room. There, by the door, you see Bulma, who smiles when she sees you. Why does it look so stupidly radiant around her when she smiles? It irks you to no end.

“Vegeta!” She says loudly. “I asked Turles to show Calaba her room. I imagine we’ll stick around for a day or two, right?” She asks. “I’d like to pick some stuff up from the ground, whatever you didn’t blast away, of course.”

“We can, the trip back is six months anyhow.” You reply as you open the door to your room and enter it. Bulma stands at the doorframe, leaning on it, she drives her index finger upwards.

“Three months, actually!” She boastfully proclaims. “I made it more efficient. We kind of took cautious ‘potshots’ of hyperspeed through space before, since we had never taken the route. Now that we know where to go, we can almost do a beeline towards Earth at the speed of light.”

“Good.” You say, sitting on a cushioned chair. “We can’t spend a whole year to find and gather up every trickle of Saiyans.” You continue, the chair’s cushion feels like heaven.

“Right?” She says, you hear her step into the room and towards you, hopping onto the room’s kitchen counter to sit on it. Her two hands rest on it to support her, and her legs dangle from one place to the other. “You know, that joke I made...”

“Are you still on about that?” Your vein pops, all you want to do is sleep.

“I just wanted to say that I’m sorry, jeez.” She says, a short silence follows where neither of you speak.

You hear her get up and head towards the door frame, she puts a hand to the button to open it, but holds off for a second. “I really care about you, you know?” She says. “I know you have a good heart, and you’re doing all of this for your people. And…” She holds off on saying the next sentence for a moment and you hear the hint of a sob. Ugh… more tears? You’re so tired you barely feel anything.

“I see it in your eyes.” She says, her voice breaking. “Your regret… for not starting this whole thing before.” She continues, she looks back towards you and you see tears streaming down her cheeks. “You know you have me, right?” She says. “I get you have to put up that macho façade in front of your warriors or whatever you want to call them, but… It’s okay to open up with me.”

Your body feels derelict and your mind emotionally drained. A part of you wants to ask her to stay with you for a while, and another would prefer to move your chair towards the round window behind you to soak in the sight of the stars while being lulled to sleep.

As I said in a post I deleted, there's a lot of sob story and tears in this one. I think exhaustion, desperate situations and almost dying made for a good emotional moment afterwards.

If you want a fun fact. Nappa's obnoxiously loud snoring is the most prominent background noise as Bulma opens up to you.

“Thank you.” You say, you don’t have the will to say much more. She looks to the door once more, dries her tears and opens it.

As it shuts back down, you roll the armchair around and look at the round window behind you. The light of the stars and the darkness of space accompany you as you fall asleep again.

The next few day comes. Calaba and Karabash and his family are adapting to life on the ship, you hear Nappa gleefully boasting from his accomplishments as Raditz shuts him down a few times to get a laugh from the children. Karabash and Gisa also tell some tales of their exiles, mostly the fun ones, which are few.

At one point you see Calaba approaching the Namekian, who seems more eager to stay outside his room since the children arrived.

She eyes the cross-armed Namekian sitting at the corner of the canteen, drinking lemon juice. The Namekian eyes her back. “Want something?” He asks.

“Why is a Namekian on this ship?” She responds with a question.

“I want to visit my home planet.” Piccolo replies dryly.

“You’re not from Namek?”

“I’m from Earth, same as Bulma. I was born there, so to speak.” He says.

“They say Namek has bountiful fields of blue grass as far as the eye can see.” Calaba says, she sits down with the Namekian. “And some of its inhabitants are strong, stronger than you and me.” She says.

For the first time in a long while, you see the Namekian showing curiosity. “Really? How do you know that?”

“It’s information you can find on galnet.” She replies. “Though there isn’t much more on it, the planet is not exactly relevant or rich.”

“Galnet?”

“Uh…” She tries to think of a way to explain it. “Well, it’s an information repository available to computers around the galaxy.”

“Huh.” He replies.

The next thing to come is training. First with Bulma, who is not quite her usual talkative self.

You see her throw a punch forward. It seems she’s finally mastering her ki. She can unleash it and retract it at will, minimizing waste, at least for that punch she fancies doing so much.

“You should now try kicks.” You say. “Do you know how to kick?”

“I think so?” She replies. A silence follows, you were expecting her to tell you some tale about ‘that time Kakarot tried to show her how to kick’ or something of the sort, but she doesn’t.

You take a battle stance and prepare yourself for a kick, you step back with a foot and then launch it upwards, aiding it with a twist of your other foot and the rest of your body. Your leg is in the air and you keep that stance. “Before applying energy you should master the form of a kick.”

She tries it, her supple body makes it easier for to maintain balance, and you see that she delivers a good kick in the air, towards the neck.

You wait, and soon enough, her leg starts to give out, her determined looks turns to worry, she’s trying way too hard to hold herself up.

“You have good form but can’t hold it. Your energy can help you with that. Turn your leg into a column of energy that holds the rest of your body.” You say.

“This is hard…” She says. Some energy flows towards her foot, but it’s spindly and it fails to take good form, eventually, she has to lay her foot back on the ground as she can’t keep herself up. She lets herself fall on her knees.

“I’m sorry.” She says.

This again? “Sorry for what? Get up, try again.” You say.

“Yesterday… I was useless. I saved you, but then I almost killed you because of my useless plane.” She looks crestfallen at the ground. “And… What I said later… I…” Tears well up in her eyes.

You pat her head. “Enough.” She starts to cry again. You let her do so for a few minutes as she speaks in-between sobs of how hard she messed up.

She dries her tears and gets up, her looks I now determined once more. She does little jumps on the ground before launching her foot up again and waiting.

Energy starts to flow once more to her leg, spindly and uneven. This won’t work.

“Vegeta.” She says.

You stop looking at her leg and look at her instead. “Huh?”

“I’ll get stronger.” She says, a determined frown looking forward. “And I’ll fight alongside you.”

“Heh.” You chuckle. “That’s quite a ways off still.”

“I don’t care.” Her energy finally starts to concentrate and form a proper pillar that reinforces her stance. “This… It’s not just about flying anymore.” She says. “It’s about all the people I want to protect…” She continues. She lets her foot down and drives the other one up.

“…My dad, my mom. Goku and all of my friends…” She says, her energy once more forming into a proper block that holds her up.

So this is the key to the power of the earthlings.

“And you.” She finishes and drives her foot down, delivering a roundhouse kick charged with energy which she is then unable to restrain, she stumbles as she lands back on the ground and falls once more. Exhausted.

Pure, unbridled determination. You offer her a hand which she eagerly accepts, a broad smile on her face.

After she gets up and dusts herself off, she speaks. “But don’t get any ideas.” She points at you. “After I get stronger, I’ll beat you up.”

You let out a taunting laugh. “You’re a fool.” Your voice lowers and your laughter turns to chuckle. “I understand now why Kakarot is such a fool himself, it all rubbed off from the earthlings.”

“You’re laughing now. You’ll see eventually!” She says as she grabs her towel. “Well, I’m off to the shower!”

“Two hours tomorrow.” You say.

“Huh?” Bulma looks at you.

“If you want to beat me some day, you better ramp up your training.” You say.

She looks dejected. “Two hours?!” She says exasperated. “But I already spend like eight hours a day down in sand planet rummaging for alien technology.”

“Then train on the planet.” You say, then sending a ping to Nappa, Raditz, Karabash and Calaba through comms.

“Ugh.” She utters as she leaves through the door which automatically closes after her.

You smile. How interesting, the key to the earthlings’ power. But you feel that there is more to be found out about that key. You, yourself, felt a surge of power as you flew out to stop Bulma’s plane. Perhaps that source of power was not only for the earthlings?

The Saiyans enter through the door, discussing some of their feats in combat. You stretch a bit, this will feel more like it. A smirk appears on your face, and you notice the same on your warriors. You take a battle stance and they do too. Opponents are picked on pure instinct, and so you dash forward towards Nappa with your fist ready as he does the same…

Planet Frieza 351-B

In orbit around a devastated planet, a bored Frieza watches the ground below as more explosions can be seen from orbit, his soldiers doing a fine work against the pitiful civilization that dared to refuse to pay tribute to his empire.

The door behind him opens, he does not budge from his position, resting on his flight pod and looking through the grand window of his office.

“Lord Frieza.” Zarbon’s familiar voice echoes in the room. “I’d like to report some happenings in the thirteenth sector.”

“This better be worth my time.” Frieza replies, Zarbon grits his teeth and walks towards him.

“Two ships have disappeared there.”

Frieza waves his hand dismissingly. “So? Build two new ones and recruit a crew.”

“One of them was Captain Rasha’s, his final report was that he was on the hunt for Saiyans who were rumored to be on planet Vertes.”

Frieza’s interest seems to be picqued, he rotates his flight pod to look at Zarbon. “Is Vegeta alive then?”

“There’s no way to know for sure.” Zarbon replies, watching another explosion light up the atmosphere of 351-B. “There’s likely dozens of Saiyan refugees littering the galaxy. Perhaps some of them became stronger through their power?”

Frieza lies deep in thought. “To defeat Rasha and his crew… If such a Saiyan existed, we would know of him.” He says. “Send a few more competent captains to search that sector.”

“The Ginyu Force?” Zarbon asks.

“Hohoho.” Frieza laughs his devilish laugh. “I wouldn’t waste their time on such a trivial matter, I trust you will be able to find someone competent enough to solve this issue.” He says, his tone hiding a subtle threat.

Zarbon nods, sweat trickling through his visage. “I will, lord Frieza.”

Planet Earth, ~5 months earlier.

Goku, wearing some trekking gear, is rummaging through a bunch of bushes near a stream. Gohan is doing the same near the river, lifting large stones to see what’s under them.

“Are you sure it’s supposed to be here, dad?” Gohan says, he readjusts the holster of his sword which keeps falling down towards the water every time he bends over.

Goku takes a hand to his pouch and takes out a radar, which he looks at. A ping appears on the very same spot every few seconds. “It should be.” Goku says, scratching his head.

“Woah!” Gohan exclaims, his astonished face looking at an orange ball with five stars on it. He picks it up and smiles a broad smile. “I found it!” Gohan laughs.

Goku approaches his son and pats him on the head. “Good job.” He then turns around and yells. “Guys, we’ve found it!”

Krillin is the first to show, then Yamcha, then Tien and Chiaotzu.

“Where was it?” Krillin asks.

“Buried under the riverbed.” Gohan replies, showing him the ball.

Krillin smiles. “Heh, you’re a smart kid.” He says, patting Gohan’s head.

Yamcha looks at Goku. “This is gonna be a long trip, isn’t it?”

Goku nods. “Yup. Everyone still up for it?”

Krillin nods. “No way I’m missing out on this.”
Yamcha nods too. “I still don’t trust that Vegeta guy myself.”

Tien smirks and looks at Yamcha. “Is it because Bulma can’t stop talking about him?”

“We’re not a couple anymore.” He says, then shrugs. “Plus, I’ve already found another girlfriend.” Then he smirks back at Tien. “Did Launch allow your little escapade?”

Tien crosses his arms and looks away. “She’s fine with it. She got a gig in South City anyway. Stealing from some rich person’s house or something, gonna take a few months for her to prepare it.”

Yamcha looks at Tien disconcerted. “Is having a criminal girlfriend really okay?”

Tien shrugs. “She doesn’t kill anyone, and she only steals from the rich.”

“Stealing from the rich is a crime too.” Yamcha says.

Chiaotzu, meanwhile, is playing around with the dragon ball along with Gohan, it falls and rolls away a few times.

“Alright!” Goku exclaims. “Since we’re all up for it, it’s time.” He takes off the backpack he has with him and rests it on the ground, rummaging through it and taking out another six balls one by one, laying them on the ground. Gohan approaches him with the last dragon ball in hand. “Now, when you place that dragon ball on the ground, there’s no turning back. It’s going to be a long trip away from home.” Goku says.

Gohan nods, determined. “I want to go too, I don’t want to see you get hurt anymore, daddy!”

Goku smiles and takes a hand to the back of his head, scratching it. “Well, that’s the whole reason I’m going there. If I get stronger then there’s no need for you to do so. You can stay with mom if you want.”

Gohan looks down and mutters. “I don’t really want to study for six months with no one to train with.”

Goku lets out a nervous laugh. “Heh. That’s uh… A good reason as any?” He says.

Yamcha, Krillin and Tien shake their heads and speak in unison “Nope, that’s not a good reason at all.”

Gohan lays the dragon ball on the ground and they all begin to shine, the sky darkens, dark clouds emit powerful lightning which strikes the ground below. A bright and long figure flies out of the seven dragon balls, eventually taking the form of a green dragon with two long moustaches and two large arms appear at his side.

Gohan and Chiaotzu look at it fascinated and with glee. While Goku, Krillin, Yamcha and Tien soak in the familiar sight.

“What is your wish?” The dragon asks.

Gohan steps forward and lays his hands up. “Eternal Dragon, hear my wish! Take us to King Kai’s planet.”

The seven people in front of the Dragon Balls teleport away instantly.

“Your wish has been granted.” The dragon then recedes back into the dragon balls which instantly turn to stone and all seven of them go high up in the air before flying out in seven opposite directions.

Interesting, I can see at least some of the Z warriors try to create a new move when hearing King Kai explain the spirit bomb to Goku.

Tien dreamed of an afternoon she spent with Launch as he flew towards King Kai’s planet.

Then he felt a tug on his leg, he woke up to see himself in the midst of a pale light before being yanked out of that space and thrown into a gigantic room along with of his comrades.

He gets up. “Chiaotzu!” He yells.

“I’m okay.” He hears the high-pitched voice of his little brother and breathes a sigh of relief, then takes a battle stance.

Goku gets up as well and scratches his head, “Man…” He says, then looks around “Gohan?”

“I’m okay.” Gohan says getting off of a dazed Krillin.

Yamcha helps Krillin up.

A booming voice rings out throughout the room. “You guys just interrupted my lunch break.” It says. A gigantic, fat red humanoid with a beard and a horned helmet is sitting at a table, munching on a chicken breast and watching the crew.

Tien looks at him astonished. Goku speaks, “Sorry, we were on our way to…”

“To heaven! Right?!” The creature yells angrily and points at Goku. “You used one of those damn wishing balls to go straight to heaven without passing my judgment!”

“Huh?” Goku asks.

Yamcha intervenes. “No! We’re trying to get to King Kai’s planet.”

“Oh, that’s the door in the back.” The creature says nonchalantly.

Yamcha just watches him in disbelief. “Seriously?” He approaches the door and opens it, revealing a gigantic body of a snake that extends towards the horizon, below are dark red clouds which sputter lightning every once in a while. Yamcha closes the door, terrified. “What?! That looks more like hell.”

“Yeah well, hell is right below the way towards King Kai’s planet, that snake is the road you have to take to reach him.” He takes another bite of his gigantic chicken breast.

Krillin hears that and suddenly gets out of his daze. “Hell?! We’re gonna fall to Hell if we mess up?”

“Yeah.” The humanoid says. “And since you don’t have halos, that means you guys are alive. If you fall to hell, you’ll die. Heh.”

Krillin grits his teeth. “No way, we wished to get transported to King Kai’s planet!”

“So?” The creature replies. “You think Shenron can just do whatever he sets his mind to? There’s some limits that you just can’t cross, you know, and one of them is getting past me without my approval.”

The creature laughs devilishly. “Plus, since you’re still human, you’ll probably die of thirst or something on the way.”

“Huh?!” Krillin yells. “How long is it to get there?”

“Ten years! Bahaha!” His laugh booms through the room.

Krillin’s jaw drops. Tien approaches the humanoid. “You… You’re King Yemma, right?!” He says, King Yemma looks at him in surprise. “The King of Ogres and judge of souls?!”

“Yes, that’s me!” King Yemma responds, then blushes and scratches his chin. “How’d you know?”

“My master taught me all about you! You’re the all-knowing judge of souls. One look at a person and you know if their heart is good or evil! It’s an honor to meet you.” Tien says, kneeling before him.

Yemma takes a hand to his blushing cheek. “Oh well. I mean, I’m not that big of a deal. Hahaha!” His laugh echoes in the room again. “Oh, here, want an autograph?” He signs a gigantic piece of paper and hands it to an ecstatic Tien, who then folds it with great care and puts it in his backpack. “Thank you so much, King Yemma! My girlfriend will love it!”

Yamcha looks at Tien in surprise, “Launch?! Why would she?!”

“King Yemma is one of her favorite reoccurring characters in all the martial arts movies we watch.” Tien replies.

“Hohoho!” Yemma laughs once more. “It’s good to know that some people have good taste in ogres!”

Krillin swipes an arm to the right. “Guys, aren’t you listening?! It’s gonna take us ten years to get to the other side!” He takes his hands to his head. “Oh no, Vegeta will come back and conquer the Earth!”

“It’s fine.” Goku says, stretching. “Wouldn’t be the first record we break, right?”

Yamcha takes a hand to his chin to think. “Still, if one of us falls to hell, they’ll die, and we’ll have to use the Dragon Balls to wish them back, that’s a year off at least, and Vegeta might come back before we can revive them. Imagine if Goku dies!”

“And what if one of us dies months into our travel?! It’ll take them even longer to revive. We can’t spare anyone right now…” Krillin continues, clenching his fist in anger. “I knew we rushed this idea!”

Tien looks at his comrades, anguished, and mostly at Chiaotzu, fearing for his little brother’s life.

Yemma watches the crew, takes a hand to his chin and thinks. He does so for a bit then sighs. “Alright, alright!” He says, then snaps his fingers. Halos appear on the heads of every single one of the Z-fighters. “For the sake of my ardent fans, I will grant you halos. You won’t feel hunger or thirst, and if you fall to hell you can just get back up and try again. It’s only temporary though, you have one year to get through the snake way and train with King Kai, and one year only! After that, your bodies will be transported back to wherever you came from.”

Tien watches King Yemma with teary eyes. “Thank you so much, King Yemma.” He says, kneeling once more.

“Hohoho!” Yemma bellows again, then blushes and scratches his chin once more “Well well, no need to be so thankful, just a little favor, you know.”

Goku punches a fist to his open palm. “Well, what are we waiting for?” He and Gohan open the Snake Way and start running down it.

Krillin and Yamcha pick their stuff that fell around the room and follow Goku in. Tien offers a bow to King Yemma as does Chiaotzu, and they also follow Goku’s lead.

“Man, what is going on at the physical realm?” King Yemma says as he gets back to his lunch.

Tien is the strongest human on Earth.

While IIRC Toriyama went for an asexual Tien that just lives the agrarian fighting monk life and sometimes gets out of it to job hard against whoever Goku throws him against, I'd rather see Tien as this young guy that's extremely into martial arts and makes his whole life revolve around it, but still has like a cozy Capsule Corps house where he watches movies with Launch and doesn't mind drifting away from martial arts every once in a while to please Launch and simply to see what the world has to offer.

I also don't want humans to be constant jobbers. Imagine having Z-Fighters who can actually protect the earth from a threat without help from the Saiyans? That'd be sweet.

Ooh right, Roshi's beef-up. It would probably be a good buff for Krillin and Yamcha but Tien is part of the Crane School, I'll probably go for powers that are less about becoming swole and more about using those thin ki waves they use for Dodon Ray and the Tri-Beam.

It's something that Videl did in super and what Hercule imagined a superhuman to be.

That DBO portion is falsified; you can learn in game that, and I quote,

> All playable humans have Saiyan genes via Goku and Vegeta's descendants.

There's no such thing as Super Human beyond some flimsy fan theories.
>>
>>5016898
Damn, this is pretty sweet. If the Z-fighters survive, train hard and (maybe) join you, they will unlock this shit.
>>
>>5016907
I mentioned in that quote that the majority of it stems from the dormant Saiyan Genes they gotten from Goku & Vegeta's line. And I'm pretty sure the only way in-game you could obtain that power was to get a wish from Shenron.

But really the point that I'm trying to say that it's really easy to facture a Super Human form. There are way too many viable breadcrumbs one can use for it if they want to tie it to "Lore". And honestly with how many "Super" Transformations there are, you wouldn't be faulted for doing it for humans. Super Hearts, Super Granolah, Super Buu, Super Perfect Cell, Super Fuu, hell at one point Frieza's final form was called "Super Frieza"

>>5016909
I'm glad you like and I hope they live up to their full potential and join the crew as well. But I'm also throwing this bone for Bulma considering what you're doing for her.
>>
>>5016913
>But I'm also throwing this bone for Bulma considering what you're doing for her.
I like to imagine Bulma as a fighting Queen alongside Vegeta in this quest's canon. Considering she's learning the Saiyan style she'll likely go for the more generic unlocks like Pure Progress, Full Power, Unlocking Potential, etc. since the rest are more related to certain martial arts school like Kame and Crane.
>>
>>5016914
Understandable. BUT if you want to apply to her scientific side for progression. There IS the concept of gene splicing and making herself part Saiyan if you don't want to do the predictable "Android" route. I mean sure you could just "use" the dragon balls do that, or just use them like how Granolah did in the manga to power her up into a really strong fighter (Not the strongest in the universe like Granolah since that's dumb and nobody wants to sacrifice lifeforce). But I'm going with the assumption that the players don't wanna waste "wishes" like that.
>>
>>5016918
Her path to power is TBD, if it happens at all. But I'm currently looking into doing scientific power-ups where she studies ki/energy as a sort of scientific field and finds the most efficient path to raw power level increases.

Scientific Martial Arts.

It's got a debuff in the fact that it doesn't really allow for 'creative' ki usage. I'm not sure how to define the whole creative thing yet, but for example, she wouldn't find unlocking the third eye efficient because it takes years for a relatively minor power increase, yet that takes her away from certain techniques the third eye could give her.

I'm not into the gene splicing and android path since it's never been done in the show, and it removes a sense of identity for the character. Maybe in a very specific situation where she's in deep love with Vegeta and really wants to grow stronger to help him.
>>
>>5016940
Yeah, that's fair. But in terms of suggestions for Scientific Martial Arts, it could dive further into Ki Manipulation and Alteration. Like molding the shape and properties of Ki to take different forms like making a fireball in the shape of an arc wave. Then there's making Ki Constructs like weapons, animal shapes, ki avatars, etc.

Hell, you could dive into doing some psychic-ish stuff with how intellectual Bulma is and would further illustrate her mental prowess through the stunt Roshi and Frieza can do.

https://streetfighter.fandom.com/wiki/Senjutsu (basically what explains the whole using ki to perform Psychokinesis.

https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Alteration-type_ki_manipulation_technique https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Telekinesis https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Telepathy

>>
>>5017687
Oh yeah, one thing does not cancel out the other. Bulma is a scientific genius and won't stop coming up with Deus Ex Machina devices for now.

>>5017693
>>5016955
I'll keep these ideas in mind, for now Bulma is still too weak to do much with her ki, probably around power level 150? She can't do much yet.

>>5017783
Interesting concept, masakox comes up with some cool ideas. I think I watched his videos way back when to steal some Raditz/Nappa stuff.

Bulma is trying very hard to train her own body right now, but who knows, considering there's a long stretch of time before she can actually be useful to the team, a powersuit could be an invention she'd go for until she can stand on her own.
>>
>>5018064
Ya might be moving a bit fast with that "150". People like Videl didn't even get that good until some actual time, and she spent her entire life building her Ki through physical means without realizing; Gohan just taught her how to properly use it.

Meanwhile Goku took going up Korin's tower before he even broke through the 100's; to make things easier, Bulma at 150 rn implies she's near where the other human's were at the start of Dragon Ball Z, except she's hardly been training longer than a few days while the others have trained their entire lives.
>>
>>5018188
Maybe Bulma's been shooting roids made from tree of might extract.
>>
>>5018064
>power level 150
Isn’t that already stronger than Roshi back when she read his power level with Raditz’s scouter in canon? I’d say she’d be a 10 at the very most since farmer with a shotgun was a 5 with no training.
>>
>>5018188
Maybe 150 is overshooting it but Goku's been doing Kamehamehas since like pl 50 lol and Videl had to reach into the 100s to fly/fire an energy ball IIRC. Power levels are bullshit.

She's been training almost every day in the ship for months, but I get where you're coming from. She won't be doing energy waves and genkidamas anytime soon. Still, I don't want to slow down her progress too much considering it might imply decades of training for her to catch up, she's smart, she knows how to get both herself and the Saiyans overpowered.

>>5018216
Vegeta better ask her for those sweet sweet roids. Frieza ain't gonna kill himself
>>
Some part of getting stronger in dragon ball seems to be being around strong people, bulma will have plenty of exposure to very strong guys.
Still, bulma isn't a fighter type, I think her primary way should be tech to augment and replace raw power. Training is still good, but speeding her training even in this environment is a bit much.
>>

The tree of might was vaporized or something, so as much as that would be a cool idea, I dont think we could do that? Not unless we or Bulma found traces of the Tree's DNA.
Alternatively, when we return to earth, I really think some of the sensu beans should be studied by Bulma so she can develop her own versions that dont require so much time to make. Considering the Capsule corp technology of stuffing big as stuff into tiny capsules, I dont think feeding a sayian would be a problem. The healing part is what I'm interested in.

In theory, if Bulma did create her own variant of the sensu bean, how effective would it be? Probably not as effective as the real deal, but significantly more readily available?

Alright, I think I'm getting to a conclusion as to how Bulma will be situationally powerful for now without rushing her training. I'll bring down her power level to 20 instead of anything lower since she unlocked Ki manipulation and has been training with Vegeta.

Senzu beans are still a sort of unspoken matter between Vegeta and the Z-crew, the trust is not quite there yet since there have not yet been any selfless moves from Vegeta's part (Defeating Turles was just as important to Vegeta as it was to the Z-crew since there wasn't much of a way out and not doing anything meant death).

Bulma is still very much on the side of Goku & Co, even if there's some feelings here and there.

That's quite the drop in powerlevel, but being able to beat 8 farmers wirh shotguns is still way better than she was before.
Maybe she could build ki guns that amplify her power or something like that.

Power level increases seem to grow exponentially anyhow. Goku was about 500 IIRC when Saiyan Saga started. That's his whole youth's worth of training, yet in just two-three years he increased it to the tens of thousands. So even if Bulma starts at 20 she'll increase it faster as she grows more powerful (if).

Ki guns? How about regular guns. Commando Bulma.

Didn't Goku almost die to a fairly standard laser weapon in Resurrection of F? Doesn't seem that hard for Bulma to stay relevant even without a huge powerlevel.

>ki guns
This guy making some good points OP

>>5018775
Considering the shit Bulma can find on the dark web of space internet explore or SpaceChan, or what tech is left in the Freiza ship we've confiscated, she can make a whole lot of leaps and bounds. Scouters, armor, blasters, medicine. Speaking of there should be at least one or two healing tanks in the Frieza ship. That'll come in handy.

>Ki guns? How about regular guns. Commando Bulma.
Those gotta be some powerful guns then. Something with less surface area and more penetration power?
>>
>>5018737
I wanna say 40-60 would've been fine, hell I would've been okay with 80+. Power levels are bullshit and really Bulma has the vibe of working smarter, not harder. So her figuring out how to circumstance the learning curve in such a way is fine.

>>5018775
I mean with shown with Goku, Frieza and now Granolah, you could easly do Yusuke's Spirit Gun Gimmick with just your fingers. Even if she hasn't reach the skill of making ki constructs yet, she could still do different gun poses to fire ki. Finger Gun, Fist Shotgun, Double fingers together for a Riffle gun, etc.

He did because he let his guard down like an idiot.

>ki guns
We already have those in the form of arm cannons. Bulma could totally improve the design, though.
