The tides are turning, and with it Daedric must bring his men to battle! If they succeed in killing the Duke of Ogres, they might be able to move forward towards the Dark Lord himself! However he will not accomplish this without his brother’s and the Dwarves' help!

>>RULES<<
> Vote with Greentext, otherwise I will ignore it.
>Write in as acceptable as long as they follow the rule above. If its clever enough I might even add some of it to the result elected
>If you pick multiple options of what I already gave you, without being out of the box, it will harm the character since they are doing more than they are naturally capable of.
>Normally here I would say something like, ‘be kind’, but this is 4chan so I won't even bother making it a rule.
>Don’t be afraid to discuss things, just remember that there are some limitations thanks to both culture and technology. Hell, you guys could discuss whether it's better to make a Holy Roman Empire Electoral System or just go Partition.

Alright, time to get started.
>>
“WAR IS UPON US MEN! FIGHT FOR HUMANITY!”

With the warcry of Daedric sounding off like a cannon in the darkness of night, the battle of Norspire had started in earnest.

The army that Daedric commands took refuge in the small walled town, a place that was previously held by the forces of darkness and corruption. Through sheer power in number Daedric forced the defenders to flee with their tails between their legs, but now they had returned.

And this time they brought the Duke of Ogres with them.

It was a beast of a monster, its size dwarfing anything Daedric had fought yet except for the Dark Lord himself. Such a monster was surely to destroy their walls and trample his forces without much issue.

However that was selling Daedric short, especially when the man had with him a group of abnormal people. These adventurers were probably going to be the prime of his force for dealing with the Duke, but that remained to be confirmed.

Quickly the sea of Goblins threw themselves at the walls, causing some of the fortifications to almost collapse within moments. Thanks to Daedric’s plans though this was to be expected following the coming battle.

“So many of the bastards.” Sneered Hev as he stood next to Daedric, “Bastards are going to tear through the walls themselves.”

“Indeed they will.” Daedric throught to himself as he tried to come up with some way to counter just the sheer numbers.

Daedric quickly moved from his position and drew his sword. Upon the ground it was much easier to control his men, doubly so with the idea he had. Behind him Hev followed, a faithful servant making sure that their charge did not do anything disastrously bad.

Once he arrived at the weakest part of the wall Daedric commanded, “Men, push the walls forward and drop them upon the monsters!”

The men all turned to Daedric in complete fear as they heard him speak that. However with the authority Daedric carried in his voice many of them could not even resist as they ran towards the walls and started pushing back.

“Men, round up here! Prepare for their entry!” The next command ran off his tongue as powerful as the first. The nearby regiments quickly took notice of his words and moved themselves to defend the soon to open wound in their walls.

The groups of men lined up and prepared themselves as the few hundred men finished their movement. The sounds of wood shattering could somehow be heard above the mindless droning of the Goblins. The wooden supports soon croke, bringing the wall down towards the Goblin herd and smashing a good few of them with just the sheer size of it.

This gave the men committed the destruction of property only a few moments to run away as the Goblins began surging into the town. Spears in hand the men started stabbing forward and piercing the numerous Goblins with a spike of sheer spite.

With that single thrust nearly fifty Goblins were dead, however their numbers were close to endless. Against the endless hordes the men could only stand forward and slaughter the enemy by the hundreds with each round of death.

Daedric watched from behind them as they struggled, noting that he did not know where the Ogre Duke was. The monster should have been backing up his monsters, but was the creature too stupid to realize a chance when there was one?

Daedric thought to himself for a moment, trying his best to realize what there was he could bring into the fight. If he just went out there and started fighting he could probably do something, but it would not be nearly as nasty a surprise as he could do.

It was then he got a small taste in his mouth, a smirk coming upon his face as he turned to Hev, “Where is our remaining barrels of alcohol?”

“Anytime would be a good time to drink, but you want one now?” Asked the Dwarf as he got to Daedric’s side.

“No, its an idea.”

“Why do I feel like I am going to hate you for it.”

“Haha, you probably will.” Daedric laughed as the two of them started moving deeper into the camp with some random conscripts to help carry them.

During this time the battle for the walls was fierce. With the relife brought about by the opening of the walls, many of the other locations about the fortifications were relieved of their stressed parts. However they were still fighting the good fight against the numerous waves of monsters that tried their best to destroy them

As for the men holding the artificial gap, they were faced with blade and talon by the Goblin hordes. Many men who were holding the front had died before they could be cycled out, leaving them upon the ground to be soiled by stomping feet.

Seeing their fellows dead the men fought harder, out of the fear that the end was neigh. Luckily they were stubborn people, willing to keep fighting as they knew what will happen if these bastards got behind them.

It was during this moment that many of them noticed a man, their High King, walking ontop the walls with several barrels.

“Daedric, you are the worst descendant of Alaric I have ever known.” called out the Dwarf as he popped the barrel’s top.

“I’m trying my best to help our people.” Daedric answered as he took a torch and lit the top of the barrel, “Maybe after all this you can make a vinyard or something.”

“Bleh, maybe its good we are getting rid of the wine.” The Dwarf said as he kicked the barrel, “BOMBS AWAY!”

With a smile Daedric tossed his own barrel over, following the numerous others his people had brought. The sudden pile of burning alcohol that started to take at the gap.

Normally something like this would not have worked well, since alcohol would not have set the Goblins on fire. However with the deadlock Daedric’s men forced them into the Goblins were forced to cook in the fires and their rags reached the point of ignition.

Upon this moment the fire suddenly cascaded, catching all of the dirt and fecal matter covering Goblins in a sudden mayhem none of them experienced before. Of course there was some risk to the forces of man, but thanks to the fear of Goblins and the distance made with spears they were able to hold back their flaming foe.

Daedric could only smile as he looked upon the chances of victory.

Daedric watched the fire in satisfaction, realizing the monsters were now being torched alive! A glorious sight that would make his grandfather Theoric The Arsonist proud! He could not help these emotions, almost consuming him as the man’s eyes widened for a moment of realization.

There was fire, but there was no Ogre Duke!

“Hev!” Daedric called out to the crying Dwarf, “Do we know where the Duke is!?”

The Dwarf’s eyes widened as he looked around for a moment, “I do not know, nor do I know where those adventurers are!”

“Men!” Daedric called out to his soldiers with a force of fury, “Look for them, all of them! If the Duke is still alive and escapes all these sacrifices will be all for nothing!”

“Understood sir!” Shouted one of the men before they quickly left Daedric. The King however was not going to stand around and do nothing, instead he started running as fast as he could to try and find them himself.

He ran, watching as the flames kept traveling through the ranks of monsters. With them so tightly packed there was no place for the monsters to flee once they and their fellows were caught by the blaze. Like the wild fires of Theoric they traveled far and wide.

He did not need to travel long though, as he and Hev both looked down over the wall to see the adventurers and the Ogre Duke fighting it out.

The massive monster was trying its best to take swings and shots at the Adventurers, but one of the men within the group took the attack in stride. Daedric could not help but widen his eyes at something he had only heard his own family doing, but there a warrior fought with the veracity of a Warrior King.

Beside him was the young boy, who skillfully sliced off the monster’s fingers with a single swipe as it retreated to recover from the attack. The two glowed with a mystical power that Daedric could only describe as holy.

However as they recovered, Daedric noticed that the wounds were quickly recovered and the monster simply smiled. The fingers that were removed quickly came back as it prepared for another attack!

With a smile on his face Daedric quickly readied Fortage and started the charge down to the Adventurers. By pouring a good bit of his own mana into the blade the weapon began to glow with a flame of revenge, while Daedric allowed himself to let go of what he was holding back.

With a leap Daedric struck the monster with a fury of his Kingdom, thousands of men dead thanks to this creature and Daedric was going to make it regret its choice in pillaging his empire.

The blade went through the creature’s left arm, while not cutting it off making a deep wound in its bicep and rendering it useless. Such an injury would have eliminated a normal being but it just kept going.

“My Leige!” Yelled the defender of their party who quickly came to Daedric’s side and blocked an attack at his face.

Daedric could feel the wind coming off the strike as he recieved it, however the best part was when the creature removed itself and attempted to heal only to fail. Everyone was looking dumbfounded until the cleric of the group’s eyes widened even more.

“Fire, it is purged by Holy Fire!” She yelled at the top of her lungs before raising her staff into the air, “Oh great Lord, I ask you to grant my friends the powers of flame!”

In response the numerous blades the people were carrying ignited. It seemed these people were not idiots and knew what they were doing.

The realization that everyone had brought a small smile to Daedric’s heart. These people were not idiots, and within the moments of bringing out flaming weapons the fight really became a fight.

The Ogre Duke gave a massive roar as it realized the threat to its own life. However, maybe because it was a dumb beast, but they were able to give it one hell of a good fight.

Daedric realized the main issue now was the bastard escaping. If he was to get away from them, only the Gods knew if he would start recovering from the burns. With that threat in mind Daedric quickly maneuvered himself about the place and got himself in a good spot a gew meters away from the action.

Blood and guts were rolling about the place as the Adventurers kept their fight going. This time the boy was the first in to strike with a sword covered in flames. Being as the monster did not have that thick of hide the blade was able to cleanly enter his body with a sickening strike.

Even though there was this damning strike, Daedric noted how it was not deep enough. With a swing of his club the boy was sent flying to the side. Luckily he was caught by what Daedric realized was an archer who was supporting them in this battle.

With the boy gone the demon tried to run forward. However, against this the defender of their party quickly ran up and sliced at the beast. While the attack was not nearly that deep the attack was more than enough to get his attention. Quickly the demon swung his weapon down and slammed itself into the Defender’s shield with a sickening slam. Still the man stood however, his arms probably ringing from the attack.

“In the name of the Gods above us, HEAL!” Shouted the Priestess as light began to engulf the field and her friends had their wounds knitted. Such an event was more than enough to bring the boy upon his feet and give the almost damned defender vitality.

“DAMN HUMANS!” Shouted the beast as an arrow impacted its right eye. It gave another scream only to receive a blade from the young boy in the stomach.

It was a good hit, one that Daedric loved to hear within his ears.

The creature quickly disengaged from them, holding his stomach as he quickly ran towards Daedric.

The orge Duke, as large as he was, clearly felt fear in these moments. Such a thing was probably forign to him except for the Dark Lord himself. Though he was almost fearless he was very much unobservant, unaware of the King who was behind him.

“Come at me you bastard!” Daedric yelled as he brought his blade back, “And you shall not move any further!”

“GET OUT OF MY WAY!” Yelled the monster as he brought his hand to swipe at Daedric, in the feign hope that he could finally get away.

The hand going towards Daedric was impacted by a stray arrow from the archer, the wound quickly catching alight. The Creature screamed for the moment, his movement becoming worthless and giving Daedric the moment he needed. With a flick of his wrist the legs of the creature were severed in two by the hateful blade that was Fortage.

He fell with an epic slam, the earth under Daedric shaking upon the monster’s collapse. The creature tried to bring itself around but it was quickly jumped by the warriors who had been fighting him this entire time.

It was a horrifying sight. If Daedric did not know what this bastard did he might have been tempted to demand them to stop. However Daedric simply began his own attacks upon the fallen bastard without a care in the world.

Within only moments of his fall, the Ogre Duke was dead.

Daedric wiped the sweat from his brow as he rose up and looked around at the folks around him. They all looked worn down, but happy that they were successful.

And indeed they were. With the flames and killing of their commander, the forces of darkness fled away from the battlefield back east as fast as they could. The men of his army of course tried their best to take out the fleeing bastards, killing many more but sadly not all of them.

Still, it was a day of victory.

As the group of men and women gathered up their weapons and army Daedric made his way towards them with a grin, “I don’t think I have seen anyone but my family fight with that much might.”

The group of adventurers all looked at one another with a small bit of confusion. It was the young boy who stepped forward though, “I am… honored my Lord.”

“As you should be.” Daedric laughed as he looked over the boy, “You four prevented the Duke of Ogres from even reaching the wall. If such a thing had occured I do not think our lack luster walls would have won against a single strike.”

The group of adventurers looked at Daedric with a little bit of disbelief, so the man simply walked towards the walls and sliced it with Fortage. Within only a moment under true strength the walls were reduced to sawdust and laid at the ground before his feet.

“As you can see, these walls were only good against the Goblins. Thanks to you they only dealt with the green menace.” Daedric pointed out as he returned to them all, “I would love to celebrate with you all, but we used all the alcohol in the battle and there is still another battle to be fought. Our Friends, the Dwarfs, are fighting for their lives down south. I think we need to go help them.”

The adventurers all around Daedric nodded in agreement, the realization obvious upon them all.

There was still another battle to be won.

Within only an hour the men were rounded up and assembled for marching. If they were lucky the battle directly to their south was still happening. If not well they needed to kill the other Duke if he was still alive.

The traveling took an hour, an hour worth of marching towards the next battle.

To say that the men were worn down was an understatement. Two battles in a single day was probably far more than any man has any willingness to follow. Still they all respected the other armed force, enough that enough of the men were willing to do this march. And thanks to that they all decided to follow through with this.

Daedric also felt it within his bones, the only good thing helping him was the simple fact that he had Byk. Hev benefited from the steed as well, though really the Dwarf would have slowed them down otherwise.

Just when the men felt thirst nearly overtake them they heard a large explosion coming from beyond the Horizon. Taking out his blade and holding it high Deadric declared, “That is the battle men! Hurry, so that we shall not lose our dwarven allies!”

A resounding affirmation came from the men, who all broke out into a sprint. They overtook the last hill, quickly seeing another tide of monsters as horrid as the last one marching upon their Dwarven allies.

It shook the men to the core to see what happened to their allies. The Dwarves who were defending this place were much smaller than what had previously been, many corpses laying upon the ground as their remaining forces defended the dead.

Daedric pointed his blade towards the small group with a fury, “Charge my men, defend our allies!”

With that call the fellows all charged forward and tried their best to get between the Dwarfs and Goblins. Daedric however noticed soon that some small fat midgets were running towards them. Within only a moment of them coming in contact with his men the explosions went off!

These fuckers were suicide bombers!

“Archers, fire upon them!” Daedric called out as he glanced over his shoulder to the Adventurers who were acting as his guard, “I want you all out front. These things will tear through a normal man but you should not be nearly as harmed.”

The group of adventurers looked a little skeptical about the King’s words, but nodded and did their duty. With wind in their step they threw themselves forward with shields or weapons raised in defence against these exploding monsters.

The incoming monsters quickly changed their course and threw themselves at the Adventurers. Several small explosions rocked them but the folk were as sturdy as Daedric desired of them.

It was after this explosion that the arrows from the archers began to rain upon the incoming attackers. Since they were small and fragile, many of them were falling like flies. Though they did not die subtly and instead gave a nice size explosion.

The attacks were now lessened and easier to deal with, giving the fighters of the Kingdom plenty of time to move forward and finally reach the Dwarfs. Even from the middle of his men Daedric could see the smiles upon all the Dwarfs as they tried their best to hold back the horrid amounts of monsters.

Within only a few moments Daedric was with them, riding up to the Deep King with a grin, “Hail, Stog, you fellows have been holding the line!”

“Of course we have, long enough for you all to get your asses over here.” The Deep King joked as he took his war axe and cut a goblin in two, “You see what fucker over there, he’s the Duke.”

Daedric looked to see the largest creature he had ever seen. It was not in pure size, but the creature was just a fat fuck who was shitting out the midgets. He looked kinda like the fuckers who blew up in Daedric’s face before, which would explain why they were non chalant about dying.

They could always be made if that bastard is alive.

[/b]“Adventurers, go charge that fucker!”[/b] Declared Daedric as he got ready to defend himself against the incoming hordes.

“Sending forward just a few men to take out the Duke?” Stog asked with a bit of interest, “You got that much trust in them?”

“I trusted them with my life before.” Daedric told the fellow outright with a smirk, “Now we just need to make sure we keep em.”

“Aye, let us fight these fuckers!” Declared the Dwarf, “Side by side with the blood of Alaric, it makes my own blood pump!”

With a roar the two of them started their fight, blades dancing in the fleshy pit that was the coming horde of Goblins.

Probably thanks to the deaths of many Dwarfs beforehand, the amount dead were much less than anything before. While you could not count them, you could probably get a good number if you worked it out for a few good minutes.

Daedric swung left, cutting the heads off of three monsters and quickly brought his blade to defend against another. As the strike bounced off Fortage, the High King quickly turned his blade about and slammed it into the chest of the nearby monster.

With such a forceful attack, the Goblin exploded upon getting stabbed.

On the other side of Daedric the Deep King was severing many of the Goblins with his axe. Many of them landed hits upon him, but thanks to his impervious armor the Dwarf was able to shrug off the attacks and leaned forward into the maelstrom of attacks he was reaping.

With a single strike the Deep King severed several Goblins in two, right through the belly no less! Such might was only equal to Daedric’s own, making them equals upon the battlefield.

Still the tide was getting bad, causing Daedric to worry about the Adventurers that he lost sight of. He could hear the explosions of the Duke from all sides but what was he to do about it!?

Daedirc looked around the battle, trying to figure out where a good place to push was at. He did not like the fact the adventurers were left by themselves against the bloated monster. If they were to lose somehow, well, it might spell the end of his army as well.

Thus Daedric reached back and waved his men forward, “WITH ME, MEN! FORWARD!”

Hearing the commands from their King the men had not choice but to march forward into the mass of Goblins. The green bastards threw themselves against the spears of the infantry, as if in a vain attempt to slow down their advance. Though in all likely hood they were just too dumb to do otherwise.

Daedric and the Deep King moved themselves towards the forming spearhead. It took vital moments to get there, but once they were there they started moving.

Both of them swung their weapons, cleaving through the enemy Goblins without a care in the world. Thanks to such barbaric actions of might and power they were able to sunder all oposition that was before them.

Thanks to this, they were able to make way through the crowds. The men following behind them, they finally arrived at the sight of the battle.

Two of the warriors, the archer and defender, had fallen to the great enemy. That left the boy and the priestess, both of who were hurt but not nearly as bad as their fellows.

They fought the monster, the duke throwing his mini-versions across the fight and having them slam into the swordsman. However just as they tried the boy was lit with a shield of light that seemed to protect him from all the damage.

The boy then moved forward, though it was obvious he was stuck between a rock and a hard place as he looked towards his fallen friends.

“Come on come on.” Daedric was tasting iron in his mouth as they slowly approached the fallen forms of the adventurers. The glowing of his blade striking against each and everyGoblin that came even close to him.

“Haha! One strike after another friend.” Laughed the Dwarf as he slaughtered the creatures, “I think I am at two hundred, what about yourself?”

“Me?” Daedric was taken a little off guard before giving a slim smile, “I think I killed about that much, though I did not know I was suppose to be counting.”

“Call it tradition, my friend.” Laughed the Dwarf as the fallen figures were now in sight, “When the ages were much older we use to determine the King based on how many creatures we slaughtered. You can say my family got good at killin’!”

“I see, well if I had known that maybe I should have tried it myself!” Daedric laughed as he cut down the last of the monsters, “Finally! Someone help me pull these two in!”

Through the battle they had finally reached the fallen forms of the adventurers. Quickly one of the swordsman ran past Daedric and grabbed one form, while the High King grabbed the other. With a hard pull the two of them and sent them flying into the ranks of man.

To say Daedric was surprised though was something else, as he could see the woman breathing and see the color of the Defender stay a healthy color. It seemed the young boy was smart in wanting his fellows rescued, and Daedric as well since they were proving able.

When the boy noticed the two were rescued he shined a smile Daedric had not seen in the past year. With worry cleared he put his full attention towards the Duke, who once again threw midget bombs at him.

The Priestess also gained a smile as she brought her hands forward, “Upon the power of the Gods above, bless your champion. Final Wish!”

The boy ran forward, his weapon glowing almost as bright as Fortage itself. The bloated monster kept his attacks up, but the boy allowed them to slam into him as he arrived before him and slicing into the stomach. The amount of flesh however was deep, causing the boy to give three more strikes before the largest explosion yet occured!

However the explosion was it, as the smoke and guts cleared the wounded but alive warrior stood triumphant.

With the death of their leader the Goblins all began to flee once again. The entire front was cut down to size through the combined effort of both the Dwarfs and Man.

This leaves only one Duke left, however…

The time of fighting had finally come to an end, many of them men and even dwarfs were worn down to the bone. There was a small wonder in Daedric’s mind if he would be able to keep all these men fighting, as with such devilish experiences you wonder if they still have the will to fight.

For now that was to not be a matter of thought. Instead Daedric brought both his and Stog’s forces into the town that they had fought within.

“Ah, by the gods!” Shouted Daedric as he finally had a moment of rest by sitting upon a ruined sofa, “I expected to fight to the death, but that was getting too close.”

“Aye, it was.” Agreed the Deep King as he ripped into the nearby pantry, “Where in this blasted place is some alcohol!?”

“I think we burnt it all.” Daedric admitted as he yawned for a moment, “I did send some men to go searching for more, and others to demand some from the nearby holds.”

“Well they better get some.” Declared the dwarf as he finally took a seat, “I am dangerous close to sober, ya hear!”

“I hear ya.” Daedric joked as he gave a stretch, “You dwarves have helped us beat back the apocalypse enough already, best we can do is give you some damn drink.”

“Aye, of course!” Declared the Dwarf with a laugh, “Though I must say, those humans of yours are quite good.”

“The Adventurers? Yeah, I never really thought they’d be pulling so much weight.” Daedric admitted as he gave a shallow laugh, “I heard their defender is beyond helping right now, think there would be a Dwarf able to keep up with them?”

“Of course!” Laughed the bastard with a chuckle, “I’ll send them one of my right hands. He should be able to keep them on the warpath. Though there is something I wanted to talk to you about. Seems your arm is ready.”

“They finished it!?” The man felt his eyes widen a good bit but kept himself calm in the next moment, “Damn, be nice to have.”

“Aye, you can head over there and grab your arm while I handle things up here.” Announced the Dwarf with a smirk, “What ya say?”

“Aye, of course.” Daedric said as he patted his fellow King on the shoulder, “I trust that you can bring these people to victory.”

“Ha, of course I can.” The Deep King laughed as his grin grew, “I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield proper here soon.”

“I will as well.” Daedric said as the doors swung open to show a messenger with a bottle of spirits, “Well it seems our drink has arrived!”

“To the future!” Announced Stog as he took the bottle and quickly poured himself a glass.

“To the Future.” Daedric said as he accepted his own filling of the drink.

Soon a night of fun and drinking occured, while debauchery was kept to a minimum. Not for a lack of desire, but there was really no woman neither Dwarf or Man around to experience it with.

Within only a few days Daedric was upon the roads once again riding towards the Dwarven Hold on his own. While it might have been wise to bring a contingent of soldiers with him, the High King was able to move leagues faster than anything else with just him and his mount Byk.

As the man rode he looked around to see the people of his Kingdom once again. Many of them were glancing in his direction with surprise on their faces, likely because of the power and speed that Daedric was able to display. However many others were content with just working in the fields with a hoe in hand.

That does remind him of a couple of things, that for one his Brother Juric was currently managing the affairs of state back in the capital. Daedric could not help but wonder what was happening over there.

Maybe it might be time to visit him. Or it might not, for Daedric needed to be in action as soon as he possibly could…

Daedric did not need to worry much about if his brother was doing his job or not, for there was by far more pressing matters than that! Daedric needed to get his new arm as soon as he could. For without it, he could not fight nearly as well as he would with it!

With that thought he traveled through the realm like a blaze of fire. Not even the wind was able to keep up with him as they rode towards the Dwarven Fortress.

Upon sight of him the men standing guard simply opened the door for him. Such was the benefit of being at the Fortress for nearly a year that none of the Dwarves forgot about him.

The sounds of hammers hitting steel rang in Daedric’s ears as he slowly made his way towards the numerous forges where his things were being made. The Dwarves were hard at work, likely trying their best to create a new army of Dwarves to go forward and fight in the war effort.

Daedric made his way through the galleries of workers and smiths, all working their wondrous craft. Daedric however was focusing on one Dwarf in particular.

The room he walked into was covered in a series of different ingots, all of them having different colors. There was ones that shined as bright as marble, while others seemed closer to steel or even red from Daedric’s view.

Slowly he advanced, seeing the Runesmith turn to him with a smile, “I only sent that message a week ago and you are here. Were there any demons on your tail or something?”

“Glady I can answer no.” Daedric announced as he look at what was resting on the smith’s anvil, “Is that it?”

“Indeed it was, just putting the finishing touches on it.” The Dwarf said with a little chuckle, “Here I was sending out that letter thinking it would take you some time to actually get here.”

“You expect too little of me.” Daedric answered before getting in a good view, “Now lets see what it is…”

Before daedric was an army with a mixture of colors about it. Quickly he noticed the odd color it was taking, which he could only describe as a reddish golden hue. This of course was paired with numerous pieces of silver than covered the internal workings.

“That color of gold… I have never seen it before.”

“Of course, for its something I relized while working off your suggestion.” The Dwarf pointed out as he happy traced the exposed metal, “The runes inside are etched upon a Gold Copper Alloy, which seems to accept the magic readily. The outside is the finest metal, adamantine, to make sure you never lose it again.”

“Adamantine, I never heard of that.”

“Aye, because its as hard as rock, but light enough to be worn.” Pointed the smith out, “There was very little of it here even within our keep. It is a luxury that could only be afforded in these trying times.”

“Well, you might as well put it on.” Daedric suggested, “Every moment we take here means another man and dwarf dies.”

“Aye, of course.” The smith admitted as he raised the arm to Daedric’s arm, “We shall start… now!”

The next moment was the most amount of pain Daedric had ever experienced in his lifetime.

It took days on end, all of these full of pain and misery for Daedric. He might have been strong, but to think that this thing would drive him so far down to insanity.

The main reason Daedric could describe it himself was that the magics that bound the arm to him were doing much more than just being attached to him. He could feel his magics being leached into the device and expanded in massive amounts. It was doing it do rapidly that he could feel his very person being leeched into the machine.

That was the most painful part. The arm was forcing itself to become a part of him in both body and soul.

On the fifth day the pain stopped, Daedric rising from the bed from who knows where. He could feel a massive headache, making him realize the Dwarves must have been making him drink copious amounts of alcohol just to keep his sanity. Well, the head ache and the bottles all around him told the High King that.

As he exited the room he realized his arm was working, the High King crushing the doorway itself with immense ease. Standing there for him was the Master Runesmith, who looked a good bit annoyed, “Ya know, destroying people’s homes is not good edicate.”

“Yeah…” Daedric tested out his new arm as he tried to feel out the strength he had, “You could have told me it would make me many times stronger.”

“I did tell you that, but you might have been screaming at the time.” The Dwarf admitted as he got out and placed some armor before Daedric, “Since you were screaming for so long we decided to get you some armor made. Pretty easy to design since we can always measure you.”

Daedric raised his brow as he looked over the materials, “This is… really good. I don’t think anything will be able to pierce this.”

“Indeed they won’t, only the most powerful of fighters and weapons shall wound you.” The Dwarf claimed as he patted Daedric on the back, “Well, you need to get going don’t ya?”

“Of course, I had a war to finish.” Daedric admitted as he was out of the keep within the hour.

Now wreathed in a silver and gold armor, Daedric flew across the lands and arrived right towards the southern armies. He should of suspected as much when he came, but the signs of battle were already upon the Horizon as he blazed into the middle regions.

From what it looks like, the two armies were fighting one another with the demons getting the upper hand. Daedric could tell from here that instead of a pure Goblin army, this force was supported by their larger cousins and the largest Goblin he had ever seen.

Such damnable monsters!

Daedric knew what he needed to do, and he was sure as hell going to do it!

The man drove his mount into combat, slamming into the numerous Goblins that were there. Daedric did attack, but his attacks were all made against those before him. He did not care for any of the goblins at his sides for they were not the target.

Quickly some of the larger Goblins took notice of Daedric’s rapid approach. Many of them threw themselves in his past to try and slow down the man’s advance. Daedric readied Fortage and started striking into the creatures in retaliation!

The first strike was through one of their shoulders, their blood scattering across the nearby minions. Such an attack should have been devastating but they were no mere goblins it seemed. Still they were slow, and with another pair of strikes Daedric was able to render this Goblin asunder through sheer might.

The others quickly came up to fight Daedric directly. Two were swatted away from the powerful attacks of Byk, while others were able to get close to only scratch Daedric. Indeed, it seemed the the armor gifted to him by the Rune Smith was turning out to be the greatest gift he could receive.

With those done Daedric brought his blade down and slaughtered those in front, giving him a clear line forward to charge Byk down towards.

That was the only form of resistance the Goblins could put up, leaving their duke open for Daedric to slay!

“HYYYYAAA!” Daedric yelled as he flew himself off Byk and into the monster. A powerful first strike Daedric made that the Duke of Goblins could not defend against the full strike as he raised his weapon. The Goblin’s limbs seemed to bulge and bruise as Daedric was forced to the ground with gravity.

“Damn human!” Shouted the monster as he steadied himself from the attack, “DIE!!”

With a bellowing roar the Goblins Duke brought his weapon about and threw it towards Daedric. The High King was forced to bring his weapon up to defend against it, the weight behind the impact aching Daedirc’s fleshy arm.

The next attack the Goblin Duke brought about was easily seen, giving Daedric a chance to parry the attack with finesse. The loud clanking of metal could be heard throughout the battle field as Daedirc was able to bring the creature’s weapon to the side and force it to side giving his just enough room to make a stabbing strike against its gut.

The strike was filled with red hot fury, the wound burning as it went in and exited the wound.

With that the Goblin made a retaliatory strike, which thanks to Daedric’s move left him open to receive. Right across the right arm, though it was not deep enough to stop him from using the limb.

“FUCKER!” Daedric called out before getting right up and personal with the creature, giving him enough of a chance to strike at the stomach. The strike gained some purchase, ripping into his stomach with a heavy cleave.

The Goblin smiled as he quickly brought his weapon down and struck at Daedric’s left arm. There was a moment of surprise upon the demon’s face as the weapon simply bounced off his masterwork arm.

With the weapon brought to the side with Daedric’s secret, the man brought Fortage to rest at his side for just a moment. A powerful moment was when the creature’s eyes widened as large as they have ever been in his lifetime. He knew what was about to happen and could not stop it.

With a push of Daedric’s might he brought the weapon around and cleaved through the skull of the monster. A sickening sound went through the air as Daedric brought his weapon through the creature’s neck.

And like that, the head was off the body.

At this moment, once again, the goblins themselves began to retreat. The Hobs looked like they wanted to keep up the fight, but they simply scoffed and went with their minions.

The battle was won, Daedric smiling as he felt whole once again. He could fight, truly fight!

As he waited there for just a moment, he the men behind him quickly running up to meet with him. The High King turned around to face his subjects, but was in minor disbelief as he saw the one who was leading them.

“Burg Cleaves?” Daedric asked the boy who was just becoming a teenager, “Fancy seeing you lead an army.”

“Th-thank you my lord!” Shouted the child as he gave a bow, “I-I am very thankful for your arrivals! We were able to defeat the goblins because of you!”

“You’re welcome then.” Daedric said as he looked around for a moment, “Now then…”

Blades began to work as town by town the two of them saw about slaughtering the remnants of the enemy. Daedric of course was having the best time he had in a while, as he was able to fully exercise his power over the masses of enemies he found himself smashing.

With every step he crushed, he was more and more able to take back the realm. Even today, as he walked away from the town that was cracked, Daedric could felt their blood covering his arms.

“Sir!” One of the soldiers came up to Daedric, “Someone has come to the camp to see you!”

“Someone?” Daedric’s brows raised as he looked around for a moment, “Who is it?”

“The Headmaster of the Academy!” The Soldier announced.

Daedric’s eyes widened before he closed the gap between him and the soldier, “Show me the way, now!”

The man nodded and turned around to guide Daedric. Though Daedric might have overreacted and was scaring the poor fool. Did it matter now? No it did not. Especially when it was his mother of all people coming to the battlefield.

When he saw the only old woman that still stood up straight, well, he knew it was her, “Mother.”

“Hmm?” The woman turned and quickly grew a smile before running in and hugging the High King, “Daedric! It has been so long! What happened to you!? What is this here!?”

Daedric had to wiggle his way out of his mother’s grip. By just the few moments she had interacting with his metal limb, Daedric was already a little scared she was going to pop it off just to study.

She did not though, staying back and shining Daedric a smile, “Its been little more than a year, has it not? Even if there is a war you should come by and visit your mother.”

“I-I’m sorry mother.” Daedric answered her while rubbing the back of his head, “If I may ask, why are you here?”

“I came here because I have found something out.” She admitted while balancing herself on her staff, “The Darkness that has settled over the castle of the Dark Gods can be pierced by a spell I devised.”

“So we can advance upon it?”

“That is indeed the case.” She admitted with a soft smile, “Finally we can put an end to this war.”

As she stood there, Daedric could not help but feel unease. She was not telling him something, but he could not put his finger on it…

There was a silence between the two of them, a nice long one as Daedric thought to himself. In his early years on this earth he was raised by this woman and by proxy her teaching of magics. Not only is such a powerful thing surely not possible with normal rituals, but Deadric was around her long enough to know there was a catch.

Daedric’s eyes narrowed as he heard her words, “There is a cost, isn’t there?”

“Oh my, you are quite perceptive.” The woman gave a charming smile, “Indeed, there is a cost.”

“And that cost is your life?” Daedric asked her once more.

The woman smiled as she gave a slight chuckle, “You see, Daedric, the curse I heard about earlier was something I already had experience with. I summarized that this darkness was in fact the same curse, the same force that took your father. Thus I had greater insights in its working.”

“I should have expected nothing less from you.” Daedric admitted as he took a breath, “You were just a hairs too late then? Did my Father die for nothing?”

“No, I would probably have never found out the answer when he was alive. No I was missing the sheer presence of it that exists now.” She pointed out while expanding her hand and creating a small bit of light. In that moment Daedric felt stronger and lighter, far more than he had been in what he realized was a year.

“They’ve cursed all of humanity.”

“Of course, and they have also cursed the lands they took. I have had visions of the Mountain Gap, how it has been shrouded in darkness until now. With the Dukes gone the darkness is weak enough to be destroyed with a large enough spell.”

“But it will cost you your life.”

“And the life of all those who participate in it.” She pointed out with a small sigh, “I have come here with a series of acolytes, most for the ritual and others for the coming battle. The coming battle shall experience the full might of my research and lifetimes of work.”

“But you will not see it.” Daedric pointed out once again, like a running record.

“Son.” She began with fallen eyes, “I must participate in the ritual, for without my knowledge it will not destroy the curse that sneaked itself into our lands. Grant me this peace, and gain revenge against the Darkness that took your Father.”

Daedric felt that his heart was heavy, but was there really anything else that he could do here? The answer, well…

“Give them hell Mother.” Daedric announced as he thought to himself for a moment, “Though I ask you to talk to the Dwarves whenever you get the chance. They might be able to help fortify the spell or your soul against it.”

“Thank you for the consideration, Daedric.” She said with a soft smile, “Looks like the Duke is here.”

“Daedric!” Shouted Burg Bales as he came running towards Daedric, “Did the takeover of the town go well?”

“Of course it did.” Daedric announced as he welcomed the young boy, “How about the villages? Did you give them hell?”

“I made sure all of those bastards were dead.” The boy announced, which honestly was a little too mature for someone like him, “Then we are going to keep marching?”

“Of course.” Daedric told the little one as he started to walk towards the commander’s tent, “How are our supplies?”

“With the caravans coming from the capital, we are doing great!” Duke Bales annoucned as he cheerfully went down the way, “What were you two talking about?”

“Nothing, just meeting with my mother.” Daedric told the little boy, “Was yours able to survive?”

There was a beat of dread as the boy looked down, “N-no she did not. Those bastards must have taken her too.”

“Remember her lose and become stronger with it.” Daedric told the kid with a bit of power in his voice, “Every step we take is one step closer to victory. Understand me?”

“Yup, every step.” The boy looked down at his fists with a glare, “I will make them pay.”

With the spark lit just how Daedric liked it, the two got the men together and started the movements. The army assembled itself and started to move from one point to another with all of their wargear in toe.

Daedric’s mother, Magia, was correct in her assessment of the Mountain Gap Bastion. A once proud place was now covered in a shadow that seemed to devour even life itself. Maybe it was more real than that, as the grass that once led to the Bastion was now rotted away and left to be bare ground.
>>
At the same time the force Daedric was joined with arrive, another army upon the horizon approached. Just the bastards Daedric was hoping to see.

Within an hour of meeting them Daedric met up with all of them, “Stog, nice to see you you bastard!”

“Same here, Daedric.” The Dwarf laughed as the two patted the other’s back, “Heard you were smashing it down here, so we had to rush down here to meet you.”

Daedric looked about the camp for a moment, “Where the hell is my brother?”

“He is taking care of some things up in the north.” The Dwarf admitted with a low chuckle, “There are still plenty of stragglers and someone needs to guide the people back to their homes.”

“I guess there does.” Daedric was forced to admit as he looked towards the Darkness ahead of him, “We are finally where it all started once more.”

“But unlike last time you have me and those adventurers.” The Dwarf pointed out with a devilish grin, “They are not going to last, I guarantee it.”

“No they won’t, though we first need to bust the fog.” Daedric said as he looked a the dark barrier, “My Mother will be taking care of that.”

“Oh, I heard she was quite the sorcerer.” Stog admitted as he gave a small laugh, “Well once the darkness ebbs away want me to take point and you follow up if anything real nasty comes up?”

“I’m a little torn, Stog.” Daedric admitted as he gave a solemn sigh, “But you go on ahead, we will be right behind you for the coming battle.”

“Of course, thank you my friend.” Stog said as he made his way over and started yelling at his men, “The day of war is upon us men, let us all assemble and we shall strike them here and now! For the living!”

The crowd around him cried out in cheer as they all resounded in their union with the powerful Deep King. A grand battle that is to be known throughout the ages, this was what was coming.

Within the coming day the armies were assembled at the doorsteps of damnation. Face to face the warriors of light were against the forces of the damned. It felt that if a single arrow fell upon the fields of warriors that the gates of the Bastion would open up and release its spews of monsters.

Daedric looked to his side and found numerous people there. On his right stood Hev, the Dwarf who had followed his family for decades at a time. On the other was Duke Bales, the one who led the armies of the south despite his young age.

Before him was the combined armies of man and dwarf. These forces were more than enough to damn any other Kingdom, but here they were probably just enough to walk into the Dark Lord’s lands.

Infront of them stood those who followed him directly, the adventurers who through so many troubles and desolations still fight for humanity and dwarven kind. Among their number now was a mage from the Academy and a Dwarf coming from the personal guard of Deep King himself.

Daedric felt his chest well with pride as he looked over and saw them all waiting for his word. What he said now would be known throughout the ages of mankind, and might even cross through the entire world if they were good enough.

>Inspire the men, tell them how this is for the greater good of humanity.

Daedric made three steps forward, looking over the crowds of warriors and causing all of their attention to be brought to him, “Today shall be the last day of battle. I can feel it in my guts, that once we pierce their fark veil the Dark Lord himself will have no choice but to come out of his castle of damnation to fight us.”

The soldiers before Daedric shifted a little bit and looked a little scared of what was happening. Daedric could not really blame them for being like that, “Today shall be the day of reckoning for our enemy. It shall be the end of days not for man but for the monsters that live beyond those gates. We, humanity, shall bring every one of them to the sword for what they had done.”

Daedric took out his blade and held it high in the air, “TODAY WE SHALL GET REVENGE! Men, women, and children were all lost to these hordes. Our friends were cut down and our families were raped infront of us! I till not stand for this, not before and not ever! DO YOU ALL AGREE WITH ME!?”

“YES SIR!”

“THEN WE SHALL GIVE THEM THE HELL THEY GAVE US!”

“YES SIR!”

“TO WAR MEN! LET US END THIS TODAY!”

With that cry a blue ball of fire was sent flying into the air. Daedric watched as the darkness that held over the keep was burnt away like tinder against a fire. Daedric knew there was not enough time to perfect the ritual, thus he knew that his mother had sacrificed herself to cause that to happen.

Her sacrifice shall not be in vain.

Waves of both man and Dwarf suddenly surged forth after that. Daedric watched as Stog brought his forces to the walls and started to smash the gates and attempt to climb the walls. However what he did not expect was the numerous monsters that were once rogue and in the forest to start pouring out into the battlefield.

It seemed they knew what today meant.

Daedric watched as the hordes came forth from the nearby forest and the edges of the mountains. He knew what he must do within only moments of their approach, “Men, sally up and place yourselves behind the dwarves! Make sure these monster won’t tear into our fellows!”

They did not even bother to respond with an affirmation, the forces moving themselves towards the walls. Many of the men were forced to turn around during this fight, facing off against the oncoming tide of monsters and powers that threatened to slaughter them all.

That did not stop them though, the tenacity of man more than enough to defend against them all. The men who were free from the oncoming onslaught were able to snake themselves across the gap and raise their spears against the incoming hordes.

The chance finally came, all the men who were caught retreated to allow the incoming hordes of monsters to finally slam themselves into the troops. The swords and spears along with the bodies behind each of the men was enough to keep them fighting for gods know how long. Daedric was of course on the front line, his blade deep inside the flesh of the nearest Hobgoblin.

It was a few moments later that Daedric heard the chanting of words behind him. He should not have been able to hear them, but they seemed to distort reality with every sylibol spoken. The group was the sorcerers of the Academy his mother brought, before them a sigil he had never seen before.

What Daedric realized was golden wire exploded in a variety of colors, sending a beam of energy directly upwards into the skies. However Daedric could already tell the near insane trouble the sorcerers were forced to under go.

Even before the spell came back to earth, two of the five sorcerers had their heads explode in a fit of magical power. Still with the sacrifice of those two, a massive ray of light came crashing down against the forces of darkness.

Barely controlled, the beam of light shattered all the bodies of those damned goblins while frying their flesh into a hot smolder. Such an attack was more than devastating to the ranks of monsters that almost an entire pair of regiments were cooked alive.

The attack was massive, just fizzling out before it could hit the lines of man. He felt his heart was shaken for a moment. Should he allow them to continue?

>Fuck it, this is the last battle of the ages anyways!
>Have them keep it in reserve, maybe for a collapsing retreat.

Daedric could not believe what just happened before his eyes. Such a massive, barely contained amount of destruction rocked him to his very core. Such a damning thing Daedric felt a small lapse of fear skitter within his heart.

Simply put, one wrong move with these magics could result in the losing of his entire force.

With that thought in mind Daedric stretched his hand and snared one of the men who were running messages for him and the other commanders, “I need you to deliver a message to those fools on the rock up there! For the love of all that is man do not cast that magic again. Am I understood!?”

“Understood sir!” The messenger quickly out of Deadric’s grip and to the numerous sorcerers who were clearly preparing themselves for another ritual.

“You sure that was a smart thing?” Hev asked as he walked up to Daedric’s side, “Never before have I seen something that powerful. It just…”

“It might be awe inspiring, but if those wizards make one mistake they will destroy our army!” Daedric answered back as he surveyed the battlefield, “Surely the thought of a beam of death raining upon us is more than enough to reconsider that.”

The Dwarf thought to himself for a moment before sighing, “Aye, you’re right.”

Though if he had to be honest, the attack of that massive beam cut the enemy down to a manageable size. With that he turned to see the Dwarves finally bringing down now only the gates that held them back but many pieces of the wall fell apart as well.

It seemed they were given the time needed, which meant there was going to be a hell of a lot more fighting now.

Daedric watched as his men continued to fight the good fight, everyone placing their weight into each strike in order to hold back the tide of monsters. Such actions were glorious to Daedric though he knew they might not be enough. He needed to make sure that damned Keep was taken from the forces of Darkness.

With that he moved himself towards the adventurers, “Adventurers, I need you to help the Deep King now!”

The voice of authority got into their ears, causing the folks to nod towards Daedric and break away from combat. In those moments the monsters tried to take advantage of the weakened front but Daedric quickly ran there to take over the fight.

To say that he was surprised when numerous Hobgoblins came to his position was a little of an understatement, well Daedric coudn’t really say he was found wanting. If these bastards wanted a good fight than the High King himself shall challenge them!

He waited a moment to allow these bastards to get closer, knowing how strict they were they were not going to try anything too crazy. These creatures, compared to their more truebred brethren, were much more lawful and forceful when it came to enforcing it upon their siblings.

Daedric used this to his advantage, waiting for them to finally bring themselves to bare before he went forward and started his retaliatory attack.

The first creature thought it saw him coming by swinging his blade down but Daedric was more than capable to parrying it and giving the monster a strike. The blade rendered his flesh, but the creature was more than capable of sustaining such damage if it meant continuing its attack.

With a swing the creature went at Daedric’s flesh, however the armor he bore was enough to deflect the injured attack and give him enough time to avoid it. At the same moment a Hob behind him had finally made its way towards Daedric and made an attack, to this Daedric was able to redirect the attack and let it land into his fellow with a satisfying curling of blood.

With a swift movement of his feet Daedric continued this dance, now facing off against not only the new comer but two other of the Hobgoblins who used that moment to reach him.

He waited for the moments where they were starting their attacks. When one of them brought and attack to bare Daedric took the momentum of the attack and parried it to send the Hobgoblin reeling to the side. Thanks to his skill with the blade he was able to send the creature into the other.
>>
With such a feat of swordsmanship performed, Daedric brought his weapon towards the other. Sadly the attack landed, but it did not penetrate the armor that the Dwarves so selflessly gave him. Through their combined might the fatal strike made by Daedric carried their will with it.

With the head of the Hobgoblin removed Daedric turned towards the others who had quickly gotten themselves up and showing their fangs against Daedric. With a warcry one of them charged Daedric with his weapon with a fury of a thousand people.

With anger beyond the understanding of a simple monster Daedric brought his blade through the chest of one of them while his armor received the attack from another. Such an attack was more than enough to bring the two of them down to barely a piece of their lives.

It was after this attack that Daedric killed the last of them. His blade easily breached the flesh of the fighters and sundered them into oblivion with a loud warcry.

Just when one of the little bastards thought to charge Daedric a powerful hammer slammed into the Goblin’s head, “Twenty Four!”

“Hev, I take it you are havine quite the time.” Daedric asked as he turned to see his Dwarvish advisor.

“Of course I am, the memories of fighting the Orcs are fresh within my mind because of these bastards!” He declared before shaking his head, “My Lord, the Dark Lord has been sighted.”

“So he has finally come to fight.”

“Aye, the messengers claim he was landing in the Fortress when they saw him come. A true abomination they claimed he was!”

“Sounds like the fucker.” Daedric seethed through his teeth as he looked towards the keep.

“Daedric, I think the men have it handled here.” The Dwarf admitted as he pointed towards the place where the Dark Lord was, “We should go give the Deep King and those adventurers a hand eh?”

>Yes, let us go fight him!

“I…” Daedric thought to himself for a moment as he looked over the battle, “YOu sure you should not stay here?”

“And stay out of the fight of the era?”

“I need someone to watch over these men.” Daedric dictated as he felt the worry in his heart, “What if it falls?”

It was at this moment that the face of Hev fell for a moment as if the Dwarf was greatly saddened. He simply shook his head as he declared, “I will not stand by as another one of my Charges throw themselves at death itself. If my death means you survive, Daedric, I will die happy.”

“Well I cannot even say if I am going to survive it.” Daedric admitted as he stared the Dwarf down, “Even with your help.”

“Well, think of it this way.” The Dwarf started as he pointed his axe at the fortress, “If that bastard is dead, than that means the fall of everything that is fighting us. The earth might not devour them, but they will flee to the ends of the earth.”

Daedric waited for a minute more, staring the Dwarf to measure his desire. There was no loss upon this interrogation of the Dwarf, he truly did feel what he told Daedric.

How typical of a Dwarf.

Daedric could not help but give a laugh while shaking his head, “Fine you can come along. One dead bastard and all this will succeed.”

With those words the two of them quickly started making their way towards the fortress. With a whistle Daedric called over his beast, Byk, to his side and rode him faster than any man could on foot.

The gates of the fortress were blow open, likely due to the tremendous forces that the Dwarfs were able to throw at them. Within moments they were welcomed into the sights of the Dwarves and a few humans still fighting the occupying forces of monsters.

The most pronounced battle however was the one right in the center.

A massive demon wreathed in darkness was fighting with a blade made of the same stuff as he. A monsterous cry of power rocked the fortress as he brought the weapon around and attempted to slice in twain the person who was fighting him. Daedric looked over at the flying corpse, noting how stout but short the person was.

“YOU BASTARD!” The Deep King yelled as his weapon was glowing with holy light, “I SHALL HAVE YOUR HEARD!”

“Come if you want, Dwarf, but nothing will stop me from killing all of you!”
Cried the Dark Lord himself as the two of them started to brawl with blades and axes.

Daedric of course came up with Byk and Hev, the two of them looking at the fallen form of the young adventurer and the priestess caring for him. It looked as if he had a massive gash through his chest, though based on how the flesh was itching its way back to full.

Daedric quickly drew his blade out and charged the giant monster, flying off his Ragoo and making a strike at the demon’s chest. The golden hot blade barely reached it as the creature brought up his arm to defend against the attack.

Even with the fury that was building in Deadric’s heart the attack was not deep. A damning strike avoided simply because his weapon was too dull to really damage the demon.

Daedric landed next to the Deep King, who simply gave him a nod as the two stared up at the demon.

“So I meet you once again, Daedric Grudgebearer.” Announced the demon as he pointed towards his arm, “I did not know humans could regrow limbs.”

“Seems your stomach has grown back.”

“To’che.” The creature admitted as he brought his blade black and launched himself, “I still need to kill you for that!”

And like that, the Dark Lord himself attacked.

It was the second round of fighting for those present. The Dark Lord had experienced a series of wounds all across his flesh, however he was more ready for battle than any other time he could have been. Daedric was in a similar boat, though he was far more healthy if you were to compare them all on a scale.

The Deep King however was in much worse shape than Daedric. The Dwarf had been fighting axe against blade with one of the most powerful creatures in this entire world. He was somehow able to keep on fighting him, however he was unable to keep up with the sheer vitality the Dark Lord had.

The battle started once more with the Lord of Demons charging them. The Dark Lord quickly brought up a blade and attempted to strike into Daedric, but with a skillful parry Daedric was able to redirect the attack into the ground.

He had learned once before already to never take the full brunt of the Dark Lord’s attacks. Thus was the nature of man to mold themselves and become stronger from it.

From behind him Stog jumped and made an overhead strike at the Monster. This of course forced the Dark Lord to bring up his arms in defence and receive the attack with an arm. It caused the axe to barely make any purchase against it, but by doing so Daedric was able to bring his blade around and attempt to strike at the stomach of the monster.

In a fashion thought nearly impossible for a creature his size, the Demon Lord threw his back back and narrowly dodged the attack with the finesse of a champion. From just that action he was able to fall back a few feet and recover from the series of attacks.

Daedric and the Deep King threw themselves forth to fry. Daedric made a feint attack at the side of the bastard, causing him to forcibly bring his between the two of them. Still, a feint is a feint and Daedric was able to go right for the other side where the bastard could not hope to defend with an arm.

Daedric was of course correct there, but instead of an arm the bastard brought about his wing and received the attack with a sickening tear. He could only stand there dumbfounded as the wings expanded and sent him flying back almost ten feet with a single flap.

It was then that Daedric watched Stog fling himself towards the Dark Lord. Thanks to the events earlier the Dwarf who helped his entire dynasty through the ages brought his axe into the monster’s neck and started pushing down as far as he could.

However he could not reach deep enough. The Blade of his Masterwork Axe only went a few inches before stopping and leaving him exposed to the Dark Lord.

In a swift motion the dark blade that was carried by the demon went from side to side, cleaving right through the Dwarf’s stomach and cutting him in half.

Daedric stared for a moment as he saw his ancestral friend killed before his eyes. The blood of four generations swelled in his heart as Fortage glowed. With a warcry he charged himself forward and started the fight once again.

There was no moment to grieve, not in this fight. Daedric knew that and decided that he should avenge the bastard instead of letting his killer live.

Daedric went in on the left side of the Dark Lord, right where the wing was torn earlier by his blade. The Dark Lord was already with him and used his blade to defend from the strike. However Daedric felt his weapon falter for just a moment as Fortage glowed with vengeance.

Still that was not enough, and the Dark Lord struck back against him with the first full hearted attack he was able to make. Daedric brought Fortage up and defended against the Demon, feeling the pain corse through his body as he was sent back into the nearest pile of rubble that broke his fall.

The Demon Lord quickly flew up to Daedric, his wings wide as he fell from flight. He had a fiendish smile as he raised his blade, “Two of the Great Kings in a single day, I have been blessed by the Darkness today!”

Before he could fell the blade, the demon was struck in the back with enough force that he stumbled a few feet forward. Standing there was Hev wielding the axe of his fallen King and yelling, “Not today you bastard! I won’t let you have him!”

In that moment Daedric noted the monster’s back was turned towards him. He might be able to make a strike, but if he failed to kill the Demon they would lose. This moment he needed strength, strength to kill it!

It was then he heard a cling of of metal. A small bit of dust was kicked up as it arrived from what Daedric could only assume was the ether. It was a Dwarven Sword, but not in a style Daedric recognized except for those that were on display in the homes of Dwarves. Even though it was ages old, it held a power that he felt was both forign and a part of him.

Whose sword was it, and where did it come from?

He knew that the moment was there, and that what he was about to do might not be the smartest of ideas. However the Fourth High King reached forward and gripped the weapon around the hilt and pulled it from the dirt and stone.

In the next moment he was filled with something he could not ever fully describe. It was both a part of him and not, but the keys were slowly fitting into place as Daedric felt something upon his body ache.

It was an eternal pain, a reminder of an ages old grudge that was already settled. No, it was two of them, upon the back of his neck and in his gut. These were what his flesh and blood at one point felt.

Well, not his flesh and blood.

That of someone a long time ago.

In the next moment he felt a pain shoot through his left arm, a reminder that he did not knew he needed. A festering feeling that was greater than anything the High King had experienced. His body was trying to remind him of the pain it experienced and that it wanted revenge against the person who did it to him.

It wanted their blood.

He demanded their blood.

A slight was not made just against Daedric, but the entire realm of Humanity. The Realm of Alaric the Great! Through his pain Daedric felt what the Kingdom had experienced throughout the attacks of these damned Demons!

He will not abide by it, he will not!

Daedric then stood, his armor shattering as his stature had grown within the moments of holding the blade. He looked up and saw the Dark Lord impaling Hev by his stomach and then throwing the Dwarf across the fortress.

Generations of friendship, both at the start and end, gave out a battle cry as they charged forward.

“Take this you damned bastard! HYAAAA!”

With a white hot blade Daedric rammed his weapon into the back of the Dark Lord, his strength now enough to fully pierce the hide of the demon. A monstrous roar came across the lands as the Dark Lord threw Daedric off of him and turned to face him. Pure red anger came from his eyes.

“By the Darkness Above, I shall have your head for that!”

“Take it then, just like the Warbosses and Traitors before you tried!” Daedric taunted before giving a warcry, “I shall have your head just like them and your Dukes!”

With that the two met in the middle, sword against a pair. The old blade’s rust fell off as it began to shine as bright as Fortage. However it did not shine for the might of grudge bearing or the anger one felt. It was the desire to protect Humanity, the desire to give mankind a place upon the civilized races and this very world.

None will know how its name was settled in the future, but the ‘Will of the First King’ was it.

Daedric brought his blade Fortage around only for that blade to be blocked by the Dark Lord. However with the second blade he was able to dig deep into the arm that the bastard always thought was a good weapon to block the attack with.

However just as Daedric was starting to make work of the Dark Lord, He felt his body start to cry under the pressures. Hell, the Dark Lord even got a few hits in and made clear cuts into Daedric’s flesh.

Such things Daedric thought he should not have survived from he was surviving, and he was winning. He was causing the massive creature to take steps back and try to get whatever damage he could on Daedric. But the man was possessed, going beyond what a normal man should have been able to do and win.

And then the moment came, the Dark blade coming forth and striking the metal flesh that Daedric’s left arm had become. The pain was doubled upon what he already was experiencing, but the attack did not pierce and instead sent his enemy reeling back.

A moment, a moment he needed.

The moment had presented itself to Daedric. He knew that he could not allow this moment to rest, not allow it to settle in as he quickly brought around his blade before him.

“In the name of humanity, all those of now, before, and after, I hereby sentence you to death.” Daedric declared as he started a swift motion of his sword, “DIE, DARK LORD, FOR THE SINS YOU HAVE COMMITED!”

And with a warcry that would be heard throughout the ages, Daedric brought his weapon over and removed the head of the Dark Lord.

In the next moment the entire earth beneath him began to shake as his body began to implode upon itself. Cries of terror filled the camp as many of the monsters present either began to run away or grab their heads in a barrage of pain and suffering.

Those monster who were close to the action and unlucky had their heads quickly explode. The taint that had carried itself through the lands quickly ebbing away as the one maintaining the concentration of dark powers was finally slain.

Those who were able to flee did not even bother to tell their fellows about their Master’s death, for all the creatures knew this and fled for the hills and forests. They will survive today and probably until the fall of civilization, but none will creature an army of these monsters until the end times.

Man and Dwarf cheered upon this moment, all of them cheering on the death of the Dark Lord and their victory over the Dark Gods that had plagued them for so long. Of course they would be back, but it might take hundreds of years before they are capable of creating a warband just like this one.

As for Daedric, the feeling of might leaving him and realizing the massive amounts of injuries he had sustained. He had his legs dangling on threads while his biceps had burst in that final action of might.

He collapsed, dead on top of the fading corpse of the Dark Lord.

The direct line of Grudgebearers had ended. While one of the brothers, Helric, would take the throne through the heroism displayed in battle, it was not the same as having the eldest child of all children. Rumor was that the High King had a son, however where this child is no one knows for sure.

Thanks to the heroism and the joint grief both races had, Humanity and the Dwarfs became inseparable. Helric and the new Deep King would join hands in further cooperation in both curing the realm of monsters as well as facing off against the rising empires around them.

Through invention and inspiration, the mages at the Academy would perfect their alchemy and sorcery so that the risk of death was both minimal and worth while. However many stayed suspicious of them just as Daedric was in their final battle.

None would forget the Matriarch of Modern Magic, Magia, for her sacrifice in the final battle.

Thanks to their friendship, both sides decided to create a tomb to keep those who had fallen in this battle. Resting with his wounds superficially recovered, Daedric was laid to rest next to Stog the Deep King. At their sides were both the warriors who fought alongside them as well as the one who is said to have saved the High King in his very moment.

Sealed deep within the Mountain Gap Bastion, these dead were said to fight the unseen battle against the forces of damnation who seeked both Dwarf and Human Blood.

None could really explain it though, as that old sword that saved the Kingdom was also placed inside that tomb. It was the center piece of all, seemingly what joined the two forces together. Proper end for the weapon that was Alaric’s, who finally got a true burial after all these years.

Who knows what is the future of Humanity and Dwarven Kind now? What is known is that the Grudgebearer line has ended, and thus we shall be off.
