You wake up. You were complete a few moments ago, but you can only clutch on the last threads of who you are while a malevolent shadow feeds on your personnality.
Before your last memories get wiped out, you feel a powerfull [Vote] attacks the ghost assaulting you, forcing it to retreat.

About the quest : It will feature a slef-made region, a few fakemons, a good bunch of regional forms.
Combat will be resolved by opposing rolls. Pokemons move are not limited. Some will get learned by level up, other will require tutors or training.
Expect to meet some cheap tricks from some opponents.
This first choice is not a starter choice although it will have impact later.
In the settings, pokeballs are really limited but capture will be "autowin" once the pokemon is weakened enough.

What do you prefer about update rhythm? I was thinking as fast as I can, requiring 2/3 inputs (assuming no tiebreaker need) and minimum time of 15 minutes between updates.

15 minutes, no tiebreak.

Your mind manage to grasp some of the shards of yourself as Marshadow launch a new flurry of what seems to you the move "Shadow Punch" to the fleeing Gengar.
Or at least, you assume so. You're in a cell after all, so that's all you can see from there. The cell is made of stone, with iron grid.
Only source of light around is your savior. The basics are coming back to you. It's fuzzy, but roughly speaking :
You're from Unova. Although you always liked pokemons, your parents never letted you get any. When you were 8, you moved to South Kalos.
Turns out your parents were enrolled in a kind of sect, hence the multiples strange interdictions.
Once in South Kalos, life went from suck to maximum suck. you started to live permanently in the cult.
You don't remember any of the teachings or dogma, just the general feeling it was stupid enough that 8 year old you manage to understand it was bullshit.
You were ostracized. No memories of any kind of physical abuse, but an overwhelming loneliness.

You are an 18 year old girl.
You spent your time trying to get out of here.
You don't even know where you are in South Kalos, as there no history or geographia course materials available for you.
You were trying to get out. Your days were usually made of physical training. You were interested in martial arts and are quite capable in athletism and acrobatics. Regarding fighting, the lack of proper teaching and sparring can only get you this far, but you're quite confident of the efficiency of your Style of Aggron training, focusing on devastating blows and physical sturdiness.
You were also very interested in pokemons since forever.

A fragment of the cult's teaching manage to come back before getting dissolved in nothingness :
The memory wipe is part of a ritual to create a perfect, pure, vessel for human sacrifice.
Staying around mean death.
You snap out of your mental introspection.
Marshadow didn't chased the gengar. You feel some kind of link between him and you.
Alright, this might be a chance for you to get out of this.

You ponder for a second; wandering if you could force palm the cultist. It would be fair game, after all.
But people doesn't do that for a reason : drawn out pokemon can intercept that kind of attack, taking less damages that they would otherwise do, and get a clean chance at counterattacking.
The choice is a quick one :
>Marshadow, Shadow punch!

This is enough for it. Banette get auto-recalled by the cultist's ball. He is not stupid enough for risking it. he steps aside and let you go.

Your new buddy is really something. He doesn't seems much more experienced than the cultist's pokemon, but sure it can hit.

Dusclop's shadow extend below its feets while Marshadow dash to punch him. The hit connect, but not before the shadow delving behind him connect a hit.

The gengar was able to tank a couple of hits from Marshadow.
You definitely don't want to mess with him.

>Marshadow, hide in my shadow and try to launch a Sucker Punch!
>Then make a break for it.

The hit seems to connect as the gengar is gathering a menacing ball of dark energy. Still not enough to take him down, although it looks like he starts to get wored down. You dash to get out of here.
You pass through a first door, the Gengar's attack hitting the wall behind you. A second door get you out of the dark, stone corridors where the only light comes from torches fixed to the wall. The last door you open lead to some crude walls, dug through the sediment. It seems reinforced with some stone masonry but the most distinctive feature is the layer of bones on the walls, form both human and pokemon origin.

More cultists are coming through the tunnels. Their leader is behind you. You're circled.

Preparing for not letting yourself get killed without fighting back, you take a step back and prepare to order Marshadow.

Your surroundings start to glitter. World turn in shades of gray for a second, then 2 pokemons you cannot identify blink from nothingness and get in fighting stance alongside to Marshadow.

The metal and yellow one and Marshadow stares at each other. The new pokemon then take a look at you. You fill the world distording around you. The next second, you're outside. It is night, the weather is not that cold for a late April night.

The lights of a town glimmer nearby. It is more of a small village than a real city so to speak.

So far so good.
You should avoid railroading into conflicts and listen to anons when they want to use the resources available to them.
For one we should have been able to choose to rob the first cultist we defeated.
Good writing otherwise.

I´m assuming it´s early in the morning or dusk.

As you walk toward the village, you try your best to be as quiet as you can. Drawing attention from a wild pokemon could prove quite dangerous, as you're alone right now.

You are in some hills in the countryside. You're walking on a path, borded by tall grass. You can see a Rattata plunging forward to get back in the relative safety of the meadow while a Noctowl circling in the sky dive and manage to catch it.

On the road, you can see a long-hair silhouette standing. That person sports a lab coat, and doesn"t notice you, focusing on his ongoing battle with a sentret

"Budew, finish it wih disarming voice!"

The sentret collapse. The professor crouch and pet it, congratulating the pokemon for its victory.

"Thank you for your help, mister."
As he recalls his newly evolved pokemon, you start walking toward the nearby village.
"Excuse me, mister... What's that cult rumors you were talking about?
- Well, every regions get attacked now and then by some low life that band together, trying to achieve something. We have quite a few local nutjobs that are making quite a ruckus. The quite weak level of our trainers overall and until recently lack of a proper league system didn't helped.
First, we have Azad and the light's children. He claims he've been abducted by aliens, that taught him great secrets about life, universe and everything.
Then, the new movement caleld QuillAnons. They want to put back former president Roger Quilliot back to the government, although the guy retired out of old age. They blame everything on the new government.
Last, not sure if they are really a cult, but some people from a web forum called CasteliaStockExchangeBet reunite and figured out they could make quite an amount of money if they short stocks of selected companies and then physically mess with the supply chain.
We have our fair number of disappearance cases in the region, that people blame on some of them.

You reached the village. you walk down from north, cross the plazza. In the center, there is your usual pokemon center and shop, facing Arceus' cult big church and a collection of smaller shrines. Walking a bit past some houses, you reach the village outskirts. Amidst the farms, the professor leads you to a big building.

"Alright, a few things you need to know. You told me you're from Unova, right? Here, pokeballs are heavily regulated. You won't find any in shops. They work with your trainer card. RFID link, quite the nice bit of technology"
He takes out a camera
"alright, smile for your profile picture".

Regarding the card itself, it act as an ID, a bank account, and a safety device preventing people from stealing your pokemons.
There are 2 versions of the card : an injected chip kind, and a classical, plastic card.
I recommend the chip one, however some people are concerned about the privacy invasion."

"My parents where the one joining the cult. They then disapeared in the cloaked mass. I don't know if they are still members, still alive. Anything. We need to warn others. I don't want to attract attention, just cooperate fully with authorities.
-Don't worry. I'm somewhat linked with league officials, it's part of my job. Safest for you would be to join me as an assistant in my research team, but I don't want to coerce you and with the new laws you'll need a few badges for this kind of jobs anyway. Second safest would be getting your own team by joining the league circuit. As it just started, you should be able to manage other trainers and it's a good opportunity for you to grow quite a powerfull team.

Anyway, it's quite late. The professor offer you a quick snack, and show you to a room including its own bathroom and a bed. Rummaging through the lab's equipment, he finds you a backpack and clothes more adapated to field operations.

"Let me throw in a trouple ones for change. Sorry I can't do much more"

Once you're alone, fed and cleaned, it takes only a few minutes for you to drift asleep.

The rest of the night goes in a blink. Professor Pommier wakes you up, with breakfast ready.
"Alright. I'll need to prepare for the other ones. Once you're done with breakfast, go through that door", as he points with his finger.

The idea of rummaging through the professor's files cross you while you take your time to eat an earthy Kalos breakfast : A glass of Oran berry juice, some Milktank's Choccy milk, bread and butter, with a chocolate croissant.
This stuff taste amazing : the cult were probably cutting a lot on food expanse. You finish your breakfast, noticing it took way more time than expected. You pass the door without any opportunity to check out professor Pommier's research.

5 young people around your age seems to be waiting while the professor is rummaging in a box in a corner of his lab.

First one is a tall, beautifull girl with pink hairs, and white cloth akin to a nurse outfit.

Second one is a young adult boy, a fit ginger sporting round glasses and a tank top.

Third one is a younger boy, probably in his late teen years. Tall, he looks clumsy and awkward. He is wearing a lab coat on top of blue jeans and T-shirt.

Fourth is an adventuring-geared girl with a haughty attitude.

Last one is the younger : a 15-ish year old bubbly girl, wearing among all things a propeller cap.

They all seems to wait for the professor to finish setting up things. The calm, decontracted silence strikes you as the one only possible if they know each other since childhood.

"First, here's a pokedex for all of you.

Also, registered the emergency number for pokemon Rangers.
You can scan pokemons for getting informations : power level, typing, and more. You can also scan trainers to learn their identity, number of badges and current number of fight-able pokemons.

- Enough. You won the right to pick last.
Blaise, Clémentine, Lucas, I got the pokemon you requested.
He release 3 Pokemon : an Happiny, which he gives the pokeball to the nurse, a Scorbunny for the younger boy and a third one you can't indentify despite having memorized the whole Grand Pokemon Encyclopedia. It looks like a mix of Squirtle and Turtwig. You try to scan it with your shining new pokedex, which got you the result : "Delta Turtwig. Typing : Water/Ground. A new variant not well known yet.
Made from sand, the shell on its back hardens as it floats along the ocean's surface. As it dives, the shell softens. "

The choice is hard. They all seems appealing in some way, but you settle on the charmander.
Professor Pommier give you the pokeball and explain how to link the unclaimed ball to your trainer ID.

Maxine : " Alright, easy one. Give me that delta-squirtle"

As the professor go and help her, your pokedex indicate :

Delta-Charmander. While the flame on its tail does not appear immediately after its birth, it burns more fiercely with age.
Level 5. Moves known : Scratch, Growl.

You see Maxine as she takes a look at her pokedex, the lower her eyes and avoid your gaze.

"Alright everybody, here is a Pokeball".
Everybody opens big, round eyes. That's right, the professor told you about this; in this region and the league tour, the easiest way to get pokeballs is by beating a league tour champion.

"I guess next step for you is to go catch a pokemon nearby, and try to challenge one of the two local champions. For your information, Purple, there is both a Normal and a Dragon Gym nearby. The Normal gym is not that far from where we met, on the northern part of the town center. Belloco is actually an association of small villages, Dragon gym is on the south-west at several hours of walking."

You walk toward Blaise, hoping to resume the conversation, as Maxine storms out of the place.
"Alright, you're unfamiliar with the place, right? Let me explain the place around on the map.
So basically here the danger scales with how far away the main track you are : anybody with a little bit trained pokemon can go anywhere, but as soon as you step out of the main road, encounter become more and more dangerous.

Around the village, you can find Normal Pokemons, insect pokemons, and cattle. You can find around quite easily some Mareep, Ponyta, or Wooloos, to give you an idea. There's also some Lilipup, Houndooms, Growlith, Meowth, Skitty, or Purrloin.
You can find your usual Rattata and all variations, along with Pidgeot and a few other birds.
There's even a place where some friends told me they've seen some Eevees. This is of course not a complete list, your pokedex can indicate you how to find some more specifics ones.

Go west for 3 hours, then you'll be able to follow Silt river in a road borded by cliffs toward North and Velayswell. In the canyon there are Water pokemons, alongside with flying and rock.
Before road 1, the castle ruins countains some unusual pokemons too : ghost and knight-like but the place is a dangerous one

On the south, you can see the stream of the Silt River. The very pure water is home to a few rare water types. Don't expect to meet something like a Squirtle or a Mudkip, you'll have to go to the Vicwell's volcano lake on the top of the map for this ones.
On the East, the mountains are home to dragon pokemons. However, it is quite out of road and the danger augments really fast inside.

- Well, thanks for the details. Any idea where I could learn Kalosian?
- Don't worry too much about that, Maxine's a bitch, you're not rude for not knowing the tongue perfectly. Unovian is taught in schools nowadays, you won't have any trouble getting understood. Plus, I'm pretty sure you'll pick up on the language while on your quest, you seems to me as the smart kind.
Anyway, what do you want to do? On my side, I will train a bit and head toward the mountains"
The remaining trainers regrouped to listen to Blaise's lecture. He seems very knowledgeable about his stuff.
The nurse chime in
"Well Blaise, Can I tag along? I'd like to try get a dragon pokemon too"

The point-blank twister hit. However, looks like squirtle learned from his past mistakes. He dove through the hurricane, and land a second bite on your Pokemon.
Charmander is out, and get auto-recalled by the pokeball's safety system.

Maxine just recall her pokemon and leave you standing, as you're clearly not worth her time.

You're not really sure how to feel about that. You were really close to get them, but deeply feel like the fight was uneven.

Lucas get you out of your thoughts.
"Purpeul, right?
Don't be too hard on yourself. She did every dirty things she could. Remember at the lab? She tried to counterpick and jump right at your throat but figured out the squirtle had no way to hit you. So, she decided to grind until getting a dark-type move to try and shred you. She even bought a potion before running after you. Despite all that, you almost won. Her superiority complex might not like this."

While Lucas talks to you, Maxine finished what she was doing at the center.

"Ah, the nerd and the loser? Well, it's a match made in even considering one of you wasted a ball on a ponyta and the other on a rodent. I know everything I need, see you later when I use you to grind more experience, losers".
She then storm off South.

Welp, you're at the front of the poke center, no point to delay healing. The nurse have witnessed the battle, so he's not so surprised to see you again.
"Nice fighting, almost got her. Please, don't let her win anymore, everybody here knows she's a terrible human being, we'll all be happy to hear about her Majesty falling from grace".

"Do you know where I can find an electric pokemon?
-Well... Around here, you could find Mareeps and grubbins. In the black woods, you can run into some Joltiks, and some Emolga near Aemilius' Overpass. I think there are some Toxtricity in Cagarig's swamp, but the bulk of them gather nearby Nuclear Plant of Krow-Hold, the number 9 town on your labelled Map.
You can also ask the professor, he have a good range of odd-typed versions of pokemons you know, but they won't come out for free."

While speaking, you reach his house. It's a huge, modern villa.
His mom welcome you in, and soon enough you're starting to eat alongside both his parents.
On the menu : Pasta with Arrokuda, cream and aromatic herbs.
Once again, it's delicious. Damn, people here really now how to pick their ingredients and turn them into great things. Dessert is Choclat Mousse, and it's great too.
You learn while chit-chatting that his father is a well-off local factory owner, specialized in transforming metals, while his mother tend the home. Lovely people.
After lunch, you head back outside.
"Ok, I'll go train a bit, we'll need stronger pokemon before taking out either of the gyms. Then, I think I'll head out toward another town, don't know which one yet, we'll discuss with everybody this evening. By the way, I'm pretty sure we'll all fight. Knowing Clementine, she'll want a rematch, so expect at least that."

Even if I'll reward creative play, expect rules to follow cartridge game, with competitive aspect.
Like, Sleep clause is a thing in league tournament, but fair game against criminals. "friendly" fight is supposed to follow league rules.

You takes the whole afternoon training with Lucas. You met a subset of the local wildlife :
a Spinarak, a Caterpie, a Nidoran (male), a Growlith, a Mareep, a Combee, a Spearow and even a Stantler.

You also meet Lucas' pokemon : Grumpiny
The pokedex tag him as the "Strike" pokemon, and state he usually wield different Signs, trademark weapons of the pokemon.

With all that training,

>Charmander grows to level 10! He learned confuse ray
>Ponyta grows to level 9! He learned Tail Whip

All of this was made easier by teaming up with Lucas, which fighted his own set of pokemons.

Well, time to head back to the town.
At the poke Center, you meet again everyone, except Maxine. Blaise and Clementine seems to had a hard day, covered in bruises and cloth torns. However, it seems they are both statisfied judging by the light, although tired, smiles on their face.
Lea is idling, playing with her Eevee and her galarian Slowpoke.

Lucas raise his voice :

Well, looks like ponyta is faster than Dreepy.
The hit even looks to burn him, impairing the offensive capabilities.

A few turns happens like this, only Dreepy switching to astonish. But the burn and the faster opponent finish him off.

On your side, Tensendur still got 1/3 of its Health. Infestation Damage over time contributed for the most part.

Maybe we can tank one extra hit with this.

There's all sorts of pokemon quests out there, and I've only read so many myself.

This is definitely one of the more by-the-books ones, aimed at people who ACTUALLY play pokemon.

That's not as bad a thing as you might think. I've seen players who claim to be pokemon fans vote for an ice move after seeing a steel attack.

Doing more than 1 turn per vote is definitely a good idea, but it's curious to see you sticking to the source system so strongly.

Due to the high amount of faith and religious building in the region, travellers usually use the churches as a crash point. You follow then on asking him about the cults.
"Well, not much more on my side. A little bit of digging tells me that Azad from the light children's sect had his big faith reveal on the mountains not so far from Clerk-Mountsmith. Regarding what you told me, you were probably in a town with medieval undertown. Three town are known for their underground : Velayswell, Clerk-Mountsmith and Frameson. "

I'm worried about that cult targeting the girls while we travel.

Their sacrifice must be "pure vessel", don't remember much more than just a shell without memories, hence the use of Gengar for memory cleansing"
Professor Pommier take a couple second to think.
"Well, we already try to group new trainers so they can keep an eye on each other, so of anything happens at least we know where. Pokedex have included location tracking too, so coordinates record are definitely an option to track and find anyone missing. Not much more on my side for now, as I said."

The meal is simple tonight : vegetable soup, with Milktank's cheese and a bowl of berries for dessert. Professor Pommier gave your pokemon type-specific and egg-group specific food, that they ate with great enthusiasm. You'll definitely need some at the PokeShop. Speaking of supplies...
"Do you know where I can find a saddle?

"Starly, quick attack!"
"Tensendur, ember!"
Starly hit your pokemon quite hard. Tensendur is hardly standing (10%)

However, your ember is enough to finish the opponent.

Congratulation! you won against Yves!

"Good match, lass. Come inside. Others, I'll be ready in 10 minute for the next opponent".

You follow Yves inside is "formal" gym.
"Alright lass, first reward is the official gym badge. Pin it on your scout sash or whatever, it's automatically registered on your ID anyway. Second, here is a pokeball. Use it well.
Third, you can get a Z cristal or mega-stone. You'll get Z brace with your 5th badge, and your key stone with your 6th.
In addition, I will also give you a TM of a normal type move.

Oh, and by the way, if you need another TM or stone, you can always rematch a champion. We adapt our teams for your level. Just try to be reasonable in the sollicitation amount."

what was the next pokemon you guys were angling for? Electric bug? I'm looking at TMs for ponyta, and I'm seeing Play Rough for fairy.

There's also flying, grass, and fighting, but next gym is dragon.
>>
>>5019760
There are as much gyms as types, so if you don't want to deal with dragon for now (or never), you can. The point of lots of scaling gym is allowing you to go wherever you want to build the team of your dreams. All non-legendary pokemons are findable on the map.

Anon the only normal megas are:

Z Crystal then since it isn´t limited to normal types.

You chosed the Secret power TM, and the Normalium-Z crystal.

Well, time to go training. You wave at your friends, wishing them good luck. After going through Poke Center, and getting congratulated by the Nurse for getting the badge (He even gave you a mug of hot chocolate while healing your team, what a sweety), you head out to go train. Some kids are playing on the plazza, probably recess as you can see the priest teaching them is supervising play time.

You go back to the town's outskirt. This morning will be dedicated to speed training. You release both your pokemons, make them work on sprints, lateral jumps, backdashes and reflexes.

Tensendur makes quite good progress. However, it's nothing compared ti Charmy, who understood everything perfectly and seems fairly more nimble once the training is done.
And like that, morning is gone. You head back to the village place, where all your friends and Maxine managed to get their normal badge. You go back to Yves for the saddles, mouthpieces, stirrups, snaffles, harnesses and various reins needed for a complete harnessing of your Ponyta.
While he finish crafting everything, his wife invites you for lunch : Bunnelby with Hunter's sauce and some home-grown berries.
Yves then explain you how to set up the whole thing on Tensendur, although warning you he's still a little small for this.

Heading back to the village plazza, your friend grab your attention as soon as they see you.

"Ok, Peurple, basically we have 2 main choices : Clementine and Lucas would like to go south-west, toward Aemilius' overpass, home of lot of flying-type pokemons. On my side, and Lea's agreeing with me, I'd like to go North toward Velayswell, cross the dark woods and then go to Clerk-Mountsmith.
There is a bug Gym at Velayswell, Psychic and Fire at Clerk-mountsmith.
If you go south, there are Dark and Ghost gyms at Frameson, or Electrick and Fly at Pinktown.
As we're tied, your choice will indicate were we all go, although we can split for a little bit of time.

You decide to head North. Well, first you stock up on travel gear, pokemon food, a couple potions and other essentials. You start to all head together west for a couple hours to join main road, when the group splits. Lucas and Clementine head South towards Aemilius' pass, promising you they will send on the Pokedex group Chat updates frequently and go meet you at Velayswell.
Blaise also stops at the castle ruin, talking about catching one specific pokemon there.
Lea and you engage on Road 1. It's the canyon of the Silt river, featuring fresh water pokemons, ground, rock and a few flying types.

Lea go on her own hunting her next team member. Your pokedex localisation tells you Maxine is nearby, although out of sight. What do?

>>

That happen.
during the day, you see quite a bit of wildlife. Some pidgeot, spearows, and you spot afar a mandibuzz in the sky. A couple digletts, a gligar in the cliffs alongside geodudes and a skiddo.
In the river, you spot some Poliwag and Magikarp, a couple barboach and a band of woopers.

When you made good distance, you notify your position on the chat group and dig up a camp site in the mountain, with both your pokemons helping using their new move, and the gear you bought. Miniaturisation technology of pokeballs are widespread for everyday objects, so you are able to set up a quite cozy camp site.

While you cook dinner, Lea came into the camp spot, all muddy but widely grinning. She got her prize : a Dunsparce. You're not sure how you feel about that. She tells you she got the substitute TM, and she wants to go to Plant gym as soon as possible.
A bit later, Maxine get inside the camp, snobbing you a bit.

You decided to make a stew after setting up camp.
Using stream water, salt, vegetable, and good chunk of meat you make a hearty meal.
Your pokedex pings, and Clementine and Lucas indicate they won't join you before at least a week. Oh well, you made too much but it's even better when warmed up a second time.
After giving the 2 other girl their serving, Blaise show up with his new companion : a Rookidee.

a few minutes later, it seems like your cooking attracted a fair bit of wild pokemons.
On the bird sides, there is Starly and Fletchling.
On the ground side, Swinub and Sandile shows up.
On the rock side, Geodude, Larvirar, rolycoly and roggenrolla.
A Corphish crawled up from the river thanks to the good smell.

You release your pokemons.
Welp, time to try out Tensendur's stuff.
You gear him up with saddle and all the other fabric and leatherwork. It's a bit big for him, but with the rythm he's growing, you might try to ride him in a couple days if you keep up with the hard training. It's amazing how fast a fighting pokemon grows.
After unequipping him, playing with both your pokemon and grooming them a bit, you go toward Maxine which is making her pokemons train against each others.
"Say, Maxine, why are you training for?
- Getting stronger, obviously."
Wow, this is surprising, she didn't snubbed you. Maybe the food worked on her too.
"Well, I was thinking long term
- We are on the league championship tour. Wouldn't make sense not to try seriously to win it. With the new government's politic, lots of door opens up to very good trainers. So my goal is to become the very best of the region. Now, excuse me, but you're delaying my training".
It was almost nice of her.
Welp, time to go to bed. Blaise and Lea are chatting softly in a corner.

After a good, albeit a bit cold, night, you all wake up, make a quick breakfast and set up camp. Lucas and Clementine text you they are also fine, even though their camping spot was not as nice. The ones sharing your camp definitely owe you one. You should reach next town in the afternoon, lunch if you go fast. Your friend split up to train on the road.

>Tensendur grows to level 15. He learned flame charge

> What? Charmander is evolving?
> Congratulation! Charmander evolved into Charmeleon

You make it to Velayswell. After one more turn on a canyon road that counts too many to track, mountains split up into a huge, around 4 km radius bowl. At the middle of the bowl, 2 rocks stands a couple hundred meters on top of the valley beneath. You can see on top of one rock a huge Mew Statue, towering over the town as a guardian, and see a shrine on top of the other one. Among houses and other building, it seems to you there are almost a hundred of churches, ranging from shrines to an imposing cathedral near the Mew statue. For big town like this, there are multiple pokemon centers, with some near to all town entrances. After a quick refresh on your team, and notifying the group you're well and in one piece, you bump into Blaise.
"Hey Peurple. Just so you know, I'm studying here, so I've got a flat. You guys can crash for a couple weeks if you need. Let me notify others".
Well, that gives you an option for tonight. There is still some good daylight, what do?

"Tensendur, Flame Charge!"
Ponyta run forwards, generating fire to build up speed. The Joltik spins out an electo web, but only manage to throw it after getting hit by the charge. However, the web traps very well Tensendur, which take a fair amount of damage. The residual fire from the charge burns the electric-charged ropes, so there won't be any speed issue.
"Tensendur, flame charge again!"
You still outspid the tiny bity sider, and he looks down for it.

"Alright retards, one last time.
We all bought calls on lentils price. Several farmer from Belloco or little villages around here grow them, and they are packed up in the factory nearby. So, we only have to block the way to the factory for the week. No way you can face them in that condition. You sneak back to town, pinging the whole gang on their pokedex so they met you at the poke center. Maxine answers she doesn't feel concerned with this.
You discuss with Blaise and Lea on how to approach them. Your pokedex rings, Clementine reporting for the night with Lucas an telling you to notify the road block to the pokemon Rangers.
Calling aforementionned rangers, they told you they can dispatch a team to dismount the road block, but they'll need your help to fight them.
Going back on the place they were scheming, they are still discussing best option prices and expiration dates. The ranger leader, still communicating with you, indicate to engage their weaker ones while the ranger circle them.

Scanning them using the pokedex, you find a few suitable opponents.
dashing down on the grassy slope, you attack one of them while Blaise and Lea do the same.

The 20-Something, tall, shaggy and overall neglected despite wearing a business suit man engage you.

"Tensendur, secret power!"
"Tepig, Tackle!"
Your ponyta draws energy by the surrounding plains and slam the opponent. He land a fairly solid hit, dealing a great deal of damages. Tepig retaliates, but the hit is really light (Tensendur 89%).
Another round of this treatment, and thanks to Tensendur overall greater speed and strength you close it.

"Allright, Tensendur, Flame charge!"
"Spoink, Psywave"
Your ponyta dashes forward, his mane still fueled by Tepig's power. The hit deals a decent amount of damages, almost half the life of Spoink. While flying around after getting projected by the charge, the spring pig's eyes starts to glimmer, and a mental attack hit Tensendur, letting him a bit roughed out (75% max health).
"Tensendur, enough. Go, Nanowatt!"
"Spoink, psywave again!"
Dear Arceus, the pig guy reek with desperation. His alledged "friends" are making fun of him too, adding insult to injury.
Your joltik recoil a bit after getting launched in the attack. (80%).
"Nanowatt, Fury Cutter!"
"Spoink, psywave! Come on, sweet Jirachi, give me a crit..." Pig guy is praying to the old luck god. Alas for him, Nanowatt outspeeds the pearl on springs and the Fury Cutter is enough to end him.

One quarter of the traders around you erupt in joice, while the others quietly weeps. The bookie, wearing his ape mask, ensure the transfer of wealth occurs among the gamblers. One guy speaks out :

As the strongest members seems either fighting with your friend or the rangers, the crowd takes the bet

Once everybody register, the guy that betted you would face out someone else steps forward.

You train Nanowatt for a bit, making small progress as you don't have that much time.
Your pokedex buzz. Professor Pommier sent you a message "I'm here".
You raise your gaze, and see him riding what your pokedex label as a Dragon/Dark Pidgeot. Seems impressing.

"Alright, Purple, you had something to show me?
-Yeah, this guy found a not referenced pokemon"
The stoner is currently high as a kite after consumption of mushrooms. He kinda snap back by injecting himself something, shows the abnormal pokemon to the professor, agree to let him take a few samples.

"Ok, time for reward.
Purple, let me see your team...
Ok, I can improve your Ponyta, giving him a second type. Tell me a few choices and I'll do what I can.
Else, I can give you a new pokemon in his own pokeball. You can state a type, or even a double type, grab one other modified starter, or grab a strong pokemon."

Overall, although fairly retarded they are some nice guys to hang around. You listen to a few of them ramble, then go to sleep in the girl's section of traveller. It is surprisingly empty.

In the dark of the night, some visions softly growwing from seeds left a few days ago, while you were underground and fighting, creep at you within the sound of silence.

You picture dark, stone corridors where the only light comes from dying torches fixed to the wall. They lead to some crude walls, dug through the sediment. It seems reinforced with some stone masonry but the most distinctive feature is the layer of bones on the walls, form both human and pokemon origin. The torches flickers and completely estinguish. The shadows are looming, overwhelming, menacings. This dread atmosphere is broken by a dancing light zigzagging from behind a corner. Dragged by that light, 2 hooded silhouettes which steps click as a gruesome metronome
"Damn this vicious monster! we should be praying and acting for the comming of our lord, not walking and trying to catch shadows on a net
-Remember, we do that for the overall safety of our brothers and sisters, and w..."
The second silhouette gets interrupted by a punch of your savior, assisted by the green flying pixie that seems to slow down time, letting Marshadow get both of the cultists out of commission before they could reach their pokeballs belt. The mythical pokemons seems in good shape, and still acting to prevent whatever the cultist are planning. The third one, the metallic wish maker you know identify as Jirachi, seems to look directly at you. The 3 mythical pokemons seems to cilently communicate, then you get a confused feedback.
You are making good progress. You are not strong enough. There is still time. You must do things faster. Get stronger to help protect from the menace. You won't be enough by yourself and your team to deal with the menace.

You wake up, quite confused. Dawn is rising.

Picrel is doomsday training Purple.
Time to get some rest. You check the group chat.
Lucas shared a picture of his new catch, a togepi, while Clémentine caught an Emolga. They are both heading your way, training in the meantime, so you can try to group-challenge the local gym.
When you report on the others, and ask if anything happenend to them, Lea answer immediately
"Blaise and Maxine slept together. they though I didn't knew lol"
both of them reply with "...". Awkward. Oh, well. Everyone seems fine. Let's focus on team care for now. You go first to a pokeSpa, and get the team pampered. Then, time to eat something nice. You get yourself a big ice cream while the team get personnalised treats. Spending time with your pokemon, some different natures seems to rise for them. You'll have to spend some quality time to play with them individually to orient them on the path you want.

This is now the middle of the afternoon. The whole team would be together in 2 days. What do?

You go back on the town outskirts. Welp, time to play with the team.
Individual care and orientation of growth will wait another day. Today is focused on playing and group bond, spoiling them a bit.

Charmy is clearly the most friendly one. It's obvious the phantom dragon likes you quite a lot.
Tensendur is starting to trust you more and more. He as quite grown too, maybe you'll be able to ride him soon.
Nanowatt is getting more opened to you too. She likes to play-electric bite you likely so you give her more attention.
Pinekiss went in the day from clearly being wary to you to start opening and trusting. Although there is stilll quite some work until she trust you as much as your other team members.

A familiar silhouette shows up. A handsome, fit, ginger man.
"Peurple! how is your training going? I'd like to get some true fight experience for my team, interested?"

The group heads towards a restaurant from a region you don't know of, recommandation of Blaise.
You order some Tajine with mint tea, and little cookies based on almond and floor. You eat quite well.

"This Tajine was delicious. I never ate this meal. Is it a kalosian specialty culinary ?
- no, it's from the other side of the sea in south, Ma'Greban region. They are well known for the pyramids on the East and biggest desert of the planet south. Lots of links between them and Kalos.
- On a completely unrelated topic... Blaise, is Maxine crushing on you?
- I don't really thing so, it was more of a one-shot thing for me anyway.
- Are you kidding? You're the only one she doesn't only express contempt at? Pretty big clue, isn't it?
- Oh well... Is she why she wants to fight us so much since we talked with Blaise first? She must think we are interested in you, Blaise.

I love how everyone shows up for comments on sentimal life of Purple. This is the kind of things that drive me to QM.

You made it downstairs to Blaise's place.
"Yeah, I don't know in what world she lives in, frankly. I chose to talk to you as I could have chosen anybody."
You clearly recall finding him handsome at the time, and still now. He also got the smarts going with the looks, and is a good trainer.
Damn, are you starting to blush? Have your voice craked just now? You don't feel anything for him, right? So why are you feeling a bit embarrassed? Quick, let's change subject.
"Hey Lea, I thought about something... Do you think throwing a fireblast cocktail at the beginning of a combat could trigger my Tensendur's Flash fire ability?
- Damn, you're a genius boss! Let me try to see if I can do this for you!"
Aaaaand off she go.
You walk up quickly the stairs, following your only-a-friend. You get into the flat. It's made of a big living room, including a queen size bed in one corner, with a couch and a couple mattress on the ground as temporary beddings. Trying to avoid any more innuendos, you go straight to shower and start singing out loud in case Lea got still some listening device in the place

>Roll for song quality. Can be dice 10000 if you want to aim for eldritch stuff, else d100

Taking your time, you hear Lea coming back. you get out of the shower and in your pyjamas

"Allright, Boss, here are 5 FireBlast cocktails. this is a consumable held item, to get it working with the pokeball tech. You know, the safety system of this things just miniaturise and store everything a trainer could throw at each other face. Lesson learned from the war, I guess. Anyway, as you might want your item to be available in gyms, this things works when your pokemon switches in. The bottle breaks, dealing fire type damages scaling on max life of both pokemons."
between that and the leftovers, looks like the go-to person for item would be Lea. At first, she clearly didn't striked you as the "technological genius kind".
"So, did Blaise managed to keep it in his pants this time around?
- No, no, I'm not interested in him.
- That's not what I said :p "
You go to your allocated spot for the night and check Pokedex. Lucas and Clementine made it back to the main road, and setted up a decent camp. You report being at Blaise's place with Lea and him. Lea tells about the fight in the end of the day.
Allright, it was quite a big day between the strange dreams, the training, the fights, the meal, and the feeling strike coming from nowhere. Tomorrow, you'll train Pinekiss to get him a few more levels and keep getting ready for the gym. Checking on the official league interwebs page, the level of a Second Badge team is 20, so getting Pinekiss up to speed with the rest of the team should be priority. There are mechanism to avoid overlevelling in gym matches, so no point trying to outgrind them.

You go to sleep. While drifting toward Cresselia realm, you wonder if Maxine will get a kid with Blaise. After all, the shards of memory you got of your past tells you the official cult teaching with intimacy was "Don't do that before we tell you so to make new members" and "don't do that else you can't become a Vessel anymore". So of course you tried to tempt someone to piss of the old guys, but this only lead to more ostracization.
After a good and refreshing night, you go to breakfast with Lea and Blaise.
Note to self : would be better in the future to buy a big house so that the pokemons can sleep outside their balls. No way to do it in such a small place.
By checking your pokedex in front of your bowl of tea and your bread spread with jam - made by Blaise's grandma, a true delicacy, almost making you reconsider dating him to stole the family recipe - you catch up on the group chat.
"By the way, where's Maxine?" Lucas, 10 minutes ago.

"Guys, we need to find Maxine!
- Relax, Peurple, she's probably fine.
- Her localisation data say she's at Rayquaza shrine right now. I can come with you if you want"
You accept Lea offering, and leave Blaise on his own.
You walk from the city center toward the Rayquaza's shrine, in the outskirt.
The town is clearly old. Most of the buildings are made in dark stone blocks, with narrow streets of cobblestone. The medieval town, with highest point being Arceus' Cathedral and the mew statue, is built on a huge rock in the middle of the bowl. A road circle this old part, and newer buildings have been built outside the belt. You made it to the other rock, a needle, with a church placed at the top. You brace yourself and climb the stairs.

At the top, the Rayquaza shrine. You don't even have to get in : Maxine is getting out at the second you made it top of the stairs.

"Maxine! we were damn worried! You could at least have told us you were fine!
- Like you care. You only want to take Blaise away from me!
- Hey, dumb-dumb. For Purple to take Blaise away from you, it would require that you own him or something.
- So, you don't deny?
- Listen here." Lea takes her pokedex out, and start playing a record. It's a mix of cat fighting, with some kind of Murkrow dying horribly, with a waterfall sound. Oh, wait. It's your voice under the shower.
"When I left them alone, the only thing getting fucked was Meloetta's mind.
- So, you're not into Blaise? Why are you running after me? Are you lesbian or something?"
Oh, Arceus. Another feeling attack. Anyway, lesbianism isn't allowed by the cu----wait, you're not there anymore. Are you lesbian for Maxine or something?

"Sorry to break it to you like this Maxine, but I'm not interested in raising Blaise's child with you."
She looks at you puzzled. Wow, first time she doesn't seems to be angry at you. Now, what's in her eyes? Pity? You're starting to get puzzled too, you're not the one heading to become a single-teen-mother, aren't you?

Anyway, the walk down is quite awkward. Nobody says anything. Mid-descent, your pokedex buzz. Lea uploaded the video of your conversation on the group chat.
Lucas : "You're adorable, Purple. Too pure for this world."
Clémentine : "When I'm back, we are getting The Talk."

What the hell is even The Talk?

Maxine : I'm still alive, don't want to hang out with you so leave me alone.
You meet up with Lea and Blaise. Tonight, you go to a Johto's sushi restaurant.
"Guys, what gym should we aim for next?
- I thought about going to this town's Insect gym, said Blaise
- I don't care, answered Lea
- what are other options?
- Beloco dragon's type, Clerk-Mountsmith Fire or Psychic, Steel or Plant at Saint-Stephen. I was planning on getting the Insect Badge, then head up toward Clerk-Mountsmith. There is an amazing place up here with tons of rare pokemons like charmanders or squirtles, where I plan to catch my next team member"

Either of the Fairy moves would be a flat upgrade

Pollen Puff or High Horsepower won't be useful with the current gym, but are strong upgrades for nanowatt/tensendur

Dragon Pulse or Shadow Ball would improve Charmy's dps a good chunk, but I don't know how useful that is.

Plus, the music played here is crazy good, you started to sing along and stop quickly because of the judgement of other clients and that one guy thinking a Klinklang wandered inside; What a jerk, you remember his face and he will pay if you met him in the wild), you settled on Play Rough.
You go back to the outskirts, and take the required amount of time to teach it to him
>Tensendur learned Play Rough!
By spending some time with the equine pokemon, you assert he grew up a fair bit since you caught him. You'll be able to start riding him. Not for a full day yet, mind you, but he can cover in half an hour around the same distance you can in half a day, assuming the terrain isn't too difficult of course.
And just like that, morning is gone.
Time to regroup with the others.
Lucas and Clémentine seems a bit tired, but happy. they show you their latest team addition, a togetic for Lucas and an Emolga for Clémentine. The molotov cocktail doesn't set up fire rocks, it deals once fire type damage to both participant the same way stealth rocks of fire type would do (clarification)

You gave, more like attached loosely, one bottle around Tensendur's neck. You registered Nanowatt as benched for the fight. Time to go, Roger already choosed his starter.

Lea got sweeped by the Butterfree, Clémentine barely did it thanks to Chansey being a special sponge, Lucas had no way to deal with the setup either, Blaise's corvisquire allows him to breeze through the fight, and Maxine birds just swept the whole fight.

And just like that, it is evening. Léa doesn't seems to care about her defeat, but Lucas is a bit gloom. You all go to someplace to eat, and the team is discussing the options.
The food choice tonight : Something typical called "Truffade", made of sliced potato with local Milktank hard paste cheese, and Grumpig's ham. You really dig it.

You have all the time in the world. Let's go talk with Léa.
"Hey Léa, I heard about something called "Stall tactics". It seems to fit your playstyle, could you tell me more about it?
- I'm not exactly planning to become a Stall master, I'm more trying to get fun builds... But stall is that thing where your goal is not to win : it's to not lose, and let the opponent wear down in front of you. Basically, the tools for that are Hazard controls, like stealth rocks and spikes. You have to set them and keep them while preventing the opponent to do the same. Second, a balanced team covering each other weakness. Let's say you have a pokemon with a huge plant disadvantage : you have to get in your team 2 pokemons that can be switched in for him. If you can do this with a move like Volt switch, U-turn or Flip Turn, it's even better. A tanky pokemon able to use one of this move is called a defensive pivot. Status, like burn or poison, and climate are a way to win in stall. Common strategies also include protect, substitute and leach seed. This allows defensive pokemons to last longer on field and deal more damage over time. Some stall teams feature a Cleric, like Chansey or Clefable, able to heal others or cure their status. Last point, health regeneration. Either by abilities like dry skin coupled with a climate, or regenerator which heal on switch back, cleric usage, or attacks like rest or slack off.
- And I was wondering... What in the hell is "the Talk"?
- Clémentine will do this with you, not me. But basically, if you let 2 compatible pokemons long enough, you'll get an egg. Humans are the same but the egg is kept in the tummy until the baby is ready"
Oh, so that's why pregnant women have a big belly! it's the shell of the egg pushing from inside! Sounds painfull, poor Maxine...

You made good progress in the black woods. The smell of humus and dim light makes it a pleasant place to walk. You see and meet a range of plant and insect pokemons, but as you're on the main road, they are all fairly low level. They don't engage you, feeling you are more powerfull.
It's around lunch time. You take a break and regroup with all the others.

"So, guys. As I'm new around here, could you tell me about landmarks of the region in case I got lost again?
- First, you shouldn't get lost as your Pokedex has a GPS integrated. Then, around here we are in the black woods, a mountain forest following the silt river. From here we can reach Clerk-Mountsmith by going north, Saint-Stephen East, and Velayswell South-West.
Once we go North, Landmarks around Clerk-Mountsmith are the Wells Chain on the West, a range of volcanic-origin mountains. In one of them, Cowwell, a guy is pretty sure he met some extra-terrestrial advanced life form and try to set up an ambassade for them. Don't know for sure he's right, but the place is perfect for watching meteor showers. On the North, Domwell is the highest mountain of the mountain range. There is some kind of laboratory at the top of this one. On North-east, Vicwell is the most recent volcano of the Wells chain. It features a Maar at the top, and the volcano is still active. This site is restricted but professor told me he could grant me access. The water is really pure, with grassy slides and volcano inside you can meet there some really rare pokemons like regular Turtwig, charmanders, or this ones." Blaise is helpfull, as always.
The rest of the conversation shift to next team member addition. Lucas get more into sulking, looks like he's bitter not getting a new pokeball. Clémentine is already set; Blaise wants to delve inside the volcano. Maxine seems to try to prevent any informations leakage, but you all noticed a 4th pokeball at her belt.

uhh, don't want to tell the gang necessarily, since what I'm suggesting is being a complete scrub and cheating my way out of the relatively balanced elemental lineup. Ask them about Ice users I guess, since it's effective against a lot but terrible as a defense.

There's the aquatic cubone I mentioned. Still angling for a Poison/Dark, now I'm leaning for some sort of crit-focused one instead of worrying about hitting weakness. A poison Absol or a Sir Fetched that threw away the shield and picked up Mistleteinn.

Ghost/Normal is another obvious choice, one that can focus on raw stats. A mutated castform that changes between ghost and normal instead of weather elements?

Then there's Flying Ground and being a pain in the ass with stalls. Make a flying turtle or something.

Purple may not know about the sea. Are there some beaches or islands of Kalos where it is possible to do snorkeling of aquatic pokemons ?
Purple also loves food : «Kalosian food is very delicious : I really love the kebab. What are the best Kalosian typical meals and where can I taste them ?»
>>
I think we need a water type but after having seen Maxine's Azumarill I don't want anything weaker than that so, maybe Rotom-W?
>>
>>5039654
Regarding strong water types, there is still the volcano lake with starters...

>>5039652
You ask the other ones
"Is there any place in Kalos where it is possible to do snorkeling ? Always dreamed of that
- In the south, between Aresity, Martialhill and Ajaxity, you can do some diving. However, we are not a tropical country so don't expect colorfull pokemons and corals all around. Regarding sea, there is Bonegor's beach which is enjoyed by Surfers on the west."
Damn, Blaise is usefull, as always.
You wrap up and all go to sleep. This is a quite pleasant night, with everybody around.
You all wake up, clean up camp, get breakfast and go back to your adventure.

You get away of the road and start looking out for a good part of the afternoon, First, your pokemon buzz "Unknown species!". Following it, it points to a rock, very busy being a rock. "It smells really good and unfamiliar. I can scent the shroomish and the spinach but there is also something which makes my nose itchy. What is that ingredient ?
- Well, I'm doing Farfetch'd Magret with spinach and forest sauce. What you might be smelling is the fat and the honey. Now, I just hve to add a dash of pepper, and we will be done..."
Lucas seems to be in a better mood, but he's still less energetic that he use to be. Looks like failing to get the badge really affected him. You leave him to finish is cooking.

>Discuss with Clémentine about her healing skills and "The Talk"
"The pokemon are lucky that you take care of them. Can you teach me some tips to heal them ?
- My, thanks. For healing, you can rely on usual items like potions and burn heal, they are quite easy to use. Usually, pokeball auto-recall system prevent very serious hits, so by setting a camp, feeding them and taking care with a couple potions in the most serious cases, your team will be as fine as getting through a poke center. Sometime, more serious battle wound happens, so in that case it's better to rush to poke center. Usually, it is when a pokemon get hit with an attack dealing enough damage to faint him twice. My pokemon are specialized in healing, so if you need I can help your team
- thanks for the informations. I have an other question... About The Talk...
- Oh, dear! I forgot, sorry... So, you know you have periods every month, right? This is the sign your body is ready to get a baby
- That, I know.
- So, when a guy and a girl like each other a lot, or are bored together, or just want to try out things, they can have an... Intimate time
- Wait, you can get intimate without loving each other for ever? Isn't that a sin regarding to.... Oh wait I'm not in there anymore..."
Clémentine looks at you weirdly. That's right, you still haven't said to everybody about the cult. Maybe it is still a bit too soon.
"Anyway, you don't have to have a baby each time you got sex. Else, I'd have like 300 kids. First thing, not every time you have sex you get pregnant. Second things, there are ways to ensure no pregnancy. Pregnancy is not the worst stuff that can happen to you, there are some kind of diseases that are only catchable by having intimate relationships. So I'd advise you to wear condoms"
She then procede to explain you what is it and how it works, taking one out and putting it on a banana. She even gives you 3 ones, "Just in case". You don't know what to feel about that.

Maxine comes back at the camp, and you greet her
"Hey Maxine, it's ok! You won't be pregnant if you wore a condom with Blaise!"
She becomes red as a beet once again. Blaise chimes in :
"I don't usually wear condoms. Don't like the sensation"
Too much details.
"So, Maxine, will you prefer a girl or a boy? Do you have ideas about names yet?
-Fuck off, retard, I'm not pregnant"

"You know, you can't know for sure unless you took a pregnancy test. Even periods can rarely happen during pregnancy, did you ever heard about pregnancy deny?"
Poor, poor Maxine. Shielding herself from the crual truth of the world. Well, maybe she deserved it a bit, lying around with Blaise while he clearly appears a not-serious partner.

Let's not embarass her further. Time to smoothly switch subject.
>Discuss with everyone about the rock which triggered your pokedex and which vanished later

"You'll need a pokeball for that. So, I'll pass"
Lea : "Blaise is the only one with a poke ball left. By the way, I'm curious about what Maxine and you have caught"
Blaise : "I'm open to investigation, but I have clear ideas regarding my next team member. So if I happen to catch something, I'll consider it as your pokemon and you'll have to go with me to catch and trade the replacement once you got a new pokeball"

BTW, where did Lucas find a Magret ? Did he kill a duck on the road ? 0.o

You are torned between all the possibilities today. Life is made of choices, but it's hard.
You splitted your day in 2. First, talking with Lucas, letting Tensendur out. Lucas is walking with Flambino.
"Your farfetched magret was delicious.
-Thanks, my mother taught me what is good food at a young age. I owe her a lot.
- I was wondering... Why do you take so hard losing against the gym champion? Matches of the official tournaments are made to be hard, with hazards, and setups, and losing on one gym is a minor penalty on the road... It doesn't take anything out of your quality as a trainer.
- Well, you see, I was always the smart kid. I am interested in strategy since very young. I'm trying to gather the most versatile team ever, able to face any challenge with sufficient preparation. And it turns out, I can't. I don't want to be the very best like no one ever was, but still a good and solid trainer. I need that to pursue my studies and become Professor Pokemon. Have you ever seen Pommier fighting? He have a stockpile of never seen before pokemons, and an amazing stratege to match. If I fail the 2nd gym of the journey, how can I ever dream of becoming like him?"

After letting Lucas voice his doubt and uncertainties, time for the grind.

The most impressing part : the guy seems to hold his ground, dodging and punching the forest-dweller pokemons. However, it doesn't seems like he deals a lot of damages.
Your pokedex doesn't register him as a trainer, nor detect any pokeballs.

You take a step back and watch what's happening. Turn out the guy is the one attacking the pokemon, who are more on a defense stance. The shouting you heard is a form of Kiai. They progressively look surprised, then annoyed, then begin to counterattack. The guy soon got wrecked, but still tries to get up and continue the fight. You're a bit impressed by the overall capacity to sulk attacks like mach punch or sludge bomb of the guy. Eventually, he doesn't have any more stamina to stand and harass the pokemon, who left once the guy stop trying to punch them.
He picks himself up.
"Damn, that's part of the training but that doesn't make its hurting less..."
He didn't noticed you.
>Leave him be. His retardness might be contagious.
>Make fun of him.

Fighting the cult would be easier if Purple could resist Pokemon like that guy.

Maybe she should train alongside her Pokemon.

"You ok, dude?"
He seems startled , then relax as he takes the hand you offer to get back up
"I admit, I'm quite impressed by your ability to resist Pokemon. How did you get so strong?
- 12 Years of training. I'm a student of the school of Shiny Draconite Fist. Name's Baptiste. Nice to meet you."
He cup his right fist in his left hand and make an Asian style bow salute. Weird coming from one of the whitiest man you ever met.
"Could you tag with me for a couple minutes? I'm in no condition to defend myself as is."
You agree, it is not too much. You walk the opposite direction than camp, and he start digging out from branches and leaves a backpack, trainer card, and PokeBall belt.
2 badges, 3 pokémons, said your Pokedex.
"Thanks, I'll be okay now "

Maybe I explained badly but he was the one attacking the wild pokemons. They acted in self defense, when he was no longer a threat (more like no more annoying) they left
>>
>>5043030
Sure, but pokemon generally don't stop fighting until they faint, so I'm wondering if there's some animal whispering component we're missing here.

A part of you wants to let him be, but there is a serious risk of concussion.
"Are you kidding? Come back to the camp with me!"
You start to walk back.
"Why did the Pokemon stopped attacking? Are you a whisperer or something?
-well, not really. I was mostly bothering them, poor guys... I chooses my opponent. For example, Scyther are way more dangerous.
You made it back to the camp.
"Everyone, meet Baptiste. I found him in the wood trying to hand fight pokemons"
The other made it to the camp. Baptiste is with Clementine, tending is wounds.

Same, training is for 1 pokemon and EV

@Clementine : "Can your pokemons also heal humans ?"
@Baptiste : "What is the school of Shiny Draconite Fist ? Is it a kind of school for Pokemon trainers ? You seem to travel alone and it may be dangerous : I'd like to know if you use some fighting technics combining with pokemon for seld-defense ? And how can ou counter-attack electrical or psy attack from Pokemon when you fight them ?"

Clémentine is tending to Baptiste with her Chancey and her Comfey.
"Wow, your Happiny evolved? Congratulations.
-Thanks.
- I was wondering... Could you pokemons also heal humans?
- Yes. I choosed a Comfey and Chansey in my team as they complete well my Nurse training. I can get back on their feet on the field both pokemons and trainer. This is part of my goal to become a Ranger medic."
Good to know, in case of issues later...
"Say, Baptiste. What is te school of Shiny Draconite Fist?
- This is a martial art style based on imitation of pokemons, like many. However, our experts are able to actually use pokemon attacks. We have a wide range of training, physical and mental, allowing us to do that. I'm still far from that level though. I'm specifically training in the Way of Dodrio, Way of Ludicolo and Way of Scissor
- It's cool! can you actually use some of the technics in pokemon battle?
- Experts of the style actually doesn't carry pokemons with them and can fend of a good level team. I've seen it myself. So, while you can technically use technics in battle, there are some sacrifices to be made for being able to master the style, one of which is letting go your pokemons.
- I was also wondering... How can you block attacks from electric or psychic pokemons?
- You can't. Some of them are dodgeable, but for others, you'll have to tought them out"
Your curiosity is satisfied for now.
You can't help but notice Clémentine is bending over Baptiste while stitching him up in a way he can get a good view of her well-devellopped assets. By listening a bit, you figure out she clearly is hitting on him. He seems interested, too.

>Send a message to Clémentine, saying you might be interested in the guy

Well, it's not like you're interested in the stray dude you picked up along the way or anything.
After eating some ordinary vegetable soups (supply are getting shorts), you just go to your tent for a good night of sleep.
On the morning, you're not surprised to see Baptiste getting out of Clémentine's tent.
Clerk-Mountsmith should be reachable today.

You get your stuff back in your bag, get out Tensendur. You start by making sure he ate and drank enough, then don the saddle and other leatherworks on Tensendur.
With him ready, you get on his back and ride fast as wind toward North. After all, Professor Pommier is waiting for you there. You sent him a message and you will have to find him at the lab, and he offered you housing for the night.

Last update of the thread, could someone kindly archive it for me? Will save me a bit of time.
Will try to make new thread later today
