You are Rua-Rua Kolinaisi Kaiko Wahtiri, Son of Ravi and Tia, Commandant of the Something Fierce (or De'lormosa Free Fleet if you are being specific.)

You have slain monsters of De'lormosa and monsters of the galaxy.

You have communed with both machine and man.

You have unified the tribes of De'lormosa and brokered peace between peoples.

You have captured and commandeered multiple space ships, built and discovered knights.

You have talked to your creator, the Emperor of Mankind.

You have met and befriended your brothers Angron, Roboute and Perturabo. You have only talked to your brother Magnus.

You are primarch of the Eleventh Legion 'Iron Hearts' Space Marines.

You are student of the Old Man of De'lormosa. And you are in a race against time to save him.

Before you even do that though, you must assist your brother Perturabo in reclaiming his world from both the Ganth and Black Judges.

SO you have prepared.
_
One of the first thing you did was see to the medical well being of your crew. Namely Nazsca- the thunder warrior, and Deliah, one of your honor guard.

You were- after several surgeries and exhaustive Gene editing processes that took you a whole 24 hours- make Nazca well, or at least as much as he could be. From what you discovered- these genetic flaws were either a design oversight, or as intended. Which is troublesome.

Deliah on the other hand, had between your two medical appointments, a complication with her prior trauma due to using the rite knife and has suffered nerve damage, psychic trauma, and has a weakened immune system. These complications aside- she has actually been healing well, and become quite friendly with Perturabo. She will need physical therapy, but like Nazca is cleared for battle.

Speaking of perturabo, in addition to helping him innovate, and try to remake the ftl tachyon communicator you and he have become friendly. While is behavior is a bit unusual it is as refreshing as the ocean breeze to have someone who speaks to you with absolute candor like an equal. Most of the time. He does seem to have a problem with shouldering the weight of others to a tremendous degree. When you have talked to him about his past he can seem somewhat standoffish. However, your working on things together makes the other task the two of you have undertaken.

Cataloging your small armada of vessels which due to your minor tow rigs and set up is at 12 ships, including one that is technically larger than your own. This has made things easier for storage, but is only really possible due to the teleporter. Which oddly- doesn't cause Perturabo to vomit. These ships have one of a similar design, but less outfitted than the Fierce. You have mostly fighter craft, some strange hybrid craft that seem to be entirely designed for capture of larger ships, some stealth fighter and bomber patterns and something that seems like a pure research ship that will take a long time to investigate. Longer than you have. Perturabo has stated that the ship is quite important and the design is impressive. The problem is as a research platform, it isn't really that practical- but it can have a bunch of the main designs on the fierce reversed engineered into it. Maybe with a little more time it would have been ready as a solid war ship, but not in time for landing on Olympia.

The next big problem for you, the refugees. Handling them, whilst dealing with the captured is difficult. So far it has been a shell game of moving them from ship to ship, and Titus has been a big help. Mostly it's just trying to get them to not eat Jerah's Mokka or other stupid activities. If you had more time to help them, you would, and they may have made a decent fighting force had they gotten some proper training.

But between balancing all activities from looking over the knight with Lancer, it's been hard. In these past 10 days you have slept a grand total of twice.

"Brother! It's time for drills!" Roboute shouts. Meera falls out of your bed, as she has been bunking with you with all the refugees lately.

"Ah!" she yelps as Erihapti, who has grown a little bit more over this trip, follows with her.

And this was during the thing that has taken most of your time.

Understanding the old man's notes.

The chicken scratch, the illustrations, - you know with certainty you can say the word. And truly understand it.

Furthermore, utilizing the notes, illustrations, and your practice--

You know the word to say that the old man uses to gift you things over long distances

"Kolinaisi!"

Or at least you would if you could get five minutes to try it.

"I'll be right out." You say.

"Do you even have a concept of time Cap?" Meera says holding on to you,

"Not since I last surfed." You say- half joking and Meera looks at you deadly serious.

"You honestly need to rest Cap. At this rate you are barely going to be able to stand on the eve of battle." Meera has been close by your side these past few days and has helped you as much, if not more than anyone else save little Nasi or Jerah.

"I'll be fine." You say with a yawn.

"Roboute is going to kick your but and you are not going to learn a damn thing from these drills." She responds and Roboute comes in

"I will defeat him, but not because Kolinaisi is tired, but because I have not been slouching on my drills." Roboute says and you look at him

"So long as we defeat the Dark Judges, I will accept that." You respond.

"Well, as Commandant, you should know- you are supposed to be the most feared warrior as well as the most capable leader."

Had there ever been a sharper knife - you wouldn't have known of it yet.

And Meera steps forward at a speed that brings a smile to your face

"If you are challenging him for that title, realize that Islanders do things a certain way." She says and Roboute, spirits bless em, practically blushes realizing the blunder of his words. Perturabo was more graceful socially.

"I mean no insult, nor challenge- brother, you haven't fought in two days and you toil ceaselessly, and I know why. Have you made any progress?" He asks, knowing that you have been studying the old man's notes and for a moment, you think about testing the words of delivery, but you need to do certain things. You also need something worth sending- and you do notice the small vial of the xenos blood, which looks more disturbing everytime you study it more.

>> "Hold the drills, I'll be right down after a short nap and testing something."

get some rest first
>>
"Roboute, I have been up for approximately 90 hours. With our enhanced biology this is probably not going to be too detrimental to my brain, but a nap will probably make it at least interestin for ya. Let me get a quick hour in an I will be right down." You say and Roboute nods

"I will train with Perturabo first then." Roboute says in a tone of what sounds like relief, probably for your health.

"You gonna tell me if he rests?" Roboute asks Meera.

"I don't snitch. That being said, you won't need me to tell you if he did or didn't." Meera says and Roboute lets out a little chuckle.

You then sit back on the bed and Meera hops up with you. The "hot bunking" as it has been called, has happened a lot more lately. Largely because of all that's being stored in the ship. Your honor guard and few others are the ones who bunk here, but it isn't romantic. Hardly. Instead of reading you just collapse on your back and Meera positions herself next to you which would be comical if anyone was looking at the height comparison.

"Who made this bed?" Meera asks

"What?"

"The bed. It's the most comfortable bed on any of the ships, or that I have heard of. It's big enough to fit both you and one of your brothers and it's also strong enough too. Who designed it?" Meera asks

"Someone big like I am, probably." You say half hazarding a guess.

"no humans are as big as you, yet it is designed for such." Meera asks

"You are starting to sound like UR with that sentiment."

"True. but that's because I am tired and you are tired. Pass that blanket so I don't get cold." She says and you pass it as she curls up next to you for body heat, and Erihapti falls asleep at the foot of your bed.

You close your eyes.

=

And you are fishing back home less than a mile from shore, near the good fishing spot off the reef shoal. Alone.

"So this is what your home is like. Father saw it and thought it was quite something. I must say it does appear to be paradise." You turn and it is Magnus. He visited you the last time you managed to take a nap. He is a bit clearer this time, his bright shock of hair similar to the girls of the Eire, but his skin looks like Deliah when she is really sunburnt, but more severe. That isn't the shocking part. The shocking part is he fits on the boat next to ya.

"A Ya! Ya keep doin this ya might actually spook me once." You say with a joke, though it is still strange to you.

"Maybe. This, world- is beautiful. What, are you doing?" Magnus asks

"I am fishin. Or tryin to. Someone is talkin to me right now" you say tossin a line

"I haven't actually seen someone do this before." He says as you begin reelin in the line again.
>>
>>5198654

"You wanna try?" You ask handing a hand line to him.

" I am always eager to learn something new. What are we exactly 'fishin' for? That is the proper term yes?" Magnus asks as you cast out again.

"I don't have much time so whatever is bitin." You say

"It's a dream it is likely whatever you caught or wanted to catch while you were here." Magnus says.

"Ha. I don't know if you are ready for that." You say jokingly.

"Oh? What on earth did you catch around here?" Magnus says

"Bigguns. Big Boy. Big meanies. Big sharks. Big Fish." You say smiling. Castin out again

"How big?" Magnus says mimicking your motion and doing a solid cast.

"Many are bigger than us. Some weigh more. The yum shark, get's from 3-5 meters. Ya big meanies, they on average over 10m. Prince shark get about 12m." You say reelin in

"Prince shark gets to be about 12m? Why?" Magnus asks as you set the line on something small, but got some fight

"Because King Shark is hard to measure. Ya don't see em that often. He don't live round here. Prince shark do. So do sword shark, Yum Fish, Sky Fish, Goldie, Ohno-" You say reelin in a smaller yum fish and puttin it on the deck as Magnus looks and asks

"What on earth is an Ohno?" He asks confused.

"Ya don't want that" You say laughin

"Why?" He asks, clearly having caught something and getting used to the motions

"Because they taste bad, they fight hard, and they have spiky fins that make em hard to take off and-" before you can finish one of the biggest Ohnos you have seen leaps out of the water flippin about

"DO THAT?" Magnus says excitedly.

"I was gonna say smell bad but they jump a lot too." You say as he reels it close to the boat

"My word it smells horrific!" Magnus says pulling the large fish out of the water safely but grimacing

"Yeah it's to scare of sharks, they do that after a fight." You say taking the hook off and tossing it back in.

"Why can't you dream pleasant smells like Roboute?" Magnus says and you chuckle

"Cause the bad smell scares sharks but it does something else." You say as more of the Goldies school

"And those?" Magnus asks

"Goldies, They taste good, have the right balance of a fight, and they are big enough to feed a few people." You say casting out Magnus looks at the volcano then looks at you.

"Why is the lava black?" He asks. He says pointing off towards the slow burn off that happens frequently from the Black.

"I am not sure. But things grow around here." You say pointing to the various vegetation as you quickly reel in a goldy and toss it into the boat, and he attempts the same.

"How is our creator?" You ask
>>
>>5198658

"Father is well." Magnus says as he reels in a goldy as well then looks about

"Though he is particularly interested in the four of you. His discussion with Perturabo was quite -" Then he realizes what he is doin and stops.

"If perturabo wants to tell me, he will, that's his decision. It's fine! You don't have to. You are doing quite well at this, despite it being a dream, do they have fishing on your planet?" You ask

"Not really like this. I have heard of it, never really seen it. Prospero, is quite different, if you'd like I could show you!" Magnus says and while it seems interesting you sigh.

"You miss it here." Magnus says.

"It used to be less pretty. There were mountains of garbage, which we converted into useful materials for structures and ships." You say.

"Wait- how?" Magnus asks shocked

"Well the dumpa clans weren't known for their intelligence, they just sort of leave whatever including some things that functioned. Second the old man and I, using older tech, designed flying printers and converters, that could print out buildings or ship scaffolding." You say as one flies by.

"That- that is an archeotech design! And it's somehow improved? " Magnus asks.

"Eh they aint so pretty and can be quite noisy. But the new ones should be like that. They would be doing this now if I were home." You say

"You realize that those designs, are exceptionally hard to find and they are only found essentially on Terra and exceptional hives to keep places with large populations somewhat clean. Your use to actually use it to make a space fleet and homes? That is pushing the absolute limit of that technology and breaking it! I wonder what the quality of such ships would be?" Magnus asked - ah. Mental Math. Something you have been having to do a lot lately. The large majority of the trash was actually stronger metals, though there was plenty of plastics, though actual void steel and void crete or whatever it's called, was less common. As you do this your line tugs as you got something. So you reel in, going over known inventories and numbers you and the old man went over, and ship designs.

"Good enough, I guess. Compared to the Something Fierce not as strong, but still fight worthy assuming we maintained six sigma while I was gone." You say and Magnus drops his line.

"SIX SIGMA?! GOOD ENOUGH?! That's absurd! Only Glorianas are made to that standard! You are saying not only is the fierce a better standard than that- but your ships will be at that?" Magnus says and you shrug

"The Old man and I tried to go For Eight Sigma, he says some ships were at ten." You say and Magnus laughs

"The Victoriana's and Triumphianas which were destroyed in dark night! Is your old man older than that?" Magnus asks

"Yeah." You shrug and Magnus just gives an odd face.

"Oh. OH! OHH!" He says grasping for his line as it goes out rapidly in sprints, meaning

"WHAT IS THAT?!" He says as you can see the tentacles of a big meanie.

-
>>
>>5199250
"It's a Big Meanie, though the Old Man calls them Colossal or Gigantic Squid- whichever species it is. We call em Red or Blue big Meanies." You say and he struggles with the hand line.

"This thing is massive and strong! How do you real em in?" He asks.

"Normally we get it close and use a spear. They don't really come in easy." You say helping with the line.

"I have noticed!" He asks

"You're lucky you got an older one. Bigger ones are usually lazy and don't fight that hard." You say seeing the massive beast.

"LUCKY?!" Magnus says and you chuckle helping him by casting out a harpoon."

"So what would you do with this?" He asks

"We'd have food for the village when you catch fish it goes bad quick unless you preserve it properly. Cannin and pottin is something that has been taught for generations, but mostly with that much squid, a lot gets used for bait, oil, and we usually make a few big meals out of it. Though refrigeration and preservation is probably goin to make some of my concepts easier- wait are you still havin problems?" You say putting down your line and helping.

"You said the big ones weren't as strong?" He says and then you realize that you may have hooked something more.

Even in your dreams you can't get too much peace. Aye Ya.

__

Think this option could lead to developing his psyche abilities
Maybe something like strengthening the drag, line or just the rod itself so it won't break and give the boat more surface space on the water so it won't capsize, then together work on bring this guy up
Basically giving them a sturdy foundation and strong tool, though they still need to use their own strength to catch this big meanie

"It'll just make good practice for you brother. It is afterall, just a dream, if it get's too weird we can always alter it." You say grabbing a harpoon and jumping in. The swim to the beastie is quick.

It isn't a normal one, it's quite a bit bigger, something that you imagine would be on par for a dream. You approach, and it seems that it got tangled with Magnus's hook.

It's odd. Probably because it's a dream.

You get close to the beast and look it right in the eye.

"How was our brother?" Perturabo asked as you enter the hangar

"He needs rest." You say as what has become a popular staging area, a sparring area, and the place where you and Perturabo talk.

While Kolinaisi, and you are close- Pertuarbo and you are very similar in story. He and you have very similar worlds, very similar fathers- even his name is closer to yours. Isn't there an Olympia on Maccrage?

"Ah. He has been doing his duties nonstop again. Deliah worries about him, as do many of the other crew."

"She has really warmed up to you." You point out the obvious.

"Many here have been kind to me, but her most of all. The fact that you are helping me fight to retake Olympia, which hasn't been as kind to me, is quite showing. It renews how I feel about humans." Perturabo says, and it worries you about his home life.

"That is good to know. Are you ready for some sparring training?" You ask

"I am going to win again, just to let you know." Perturabo says calm as a still summer's eve at your fathers villa. The last fight, he did win, largely due to his armor and weapon, though now he has a melee weapon.

"No armor this time- just the melee weapon." You say

"That sounds incredibly dangerous for you." Perturabo states

"Well it's the only way we get better." You say and Perturabo shrugs

"What?"

"Kolinaisi, was looking at the medical statistics after training, involving concussions and brain damage, after operating on Nazca and Deliah, from what he was looking at, he seems to think that training can cause as much problems as it solves if done improperly."

"He didn't share that with me." And he hadn't, though you could guess why

"Probably because his lack of sleep is causing him brain damage himself." Perturabo says

"Did you just make a joke?" You ask after a little smirk and chuchkle

"I occasionally do. Deliah seems to like them."

"How shall we spar then perturabo?"

"How is your shooting brother?"
-

"Do you normally go in after squid?" Magnus asks you

"Not really mate, that's a bad idea most of the time if you aint big and a good swimma. I know the weakspot." You say tying it off to the boat.

"What now?" Magnus asks

"Now we take it to shore."

"I think actually It would be better if I left. There is much I must do, but it is good to see you again." Magnus says.

"Farewell brother!" You say as he sort of fades out.

Erihapti is licking you awake.

"Ah. hello girl." You say patting Erihapti's head and carefully positioning yourself not to wake up the loudly snoring Meera.

You look over at what you are supposed to give to the old man. You look at the notes, and you realize, that you almost spoke it wrong. You would have probably said a different word and who knows what would of happened. You realize that you have limited time, but you have needed to do this for a while.

Always rest before practice
>>
You remember the way to move your mouth, the complex notes and even the scribbling in the margins.

The sound the old man's voice was over the comm the one time you heard him before using the language.

You concentrate, holding the objects namely the vial and sample, and the piece of paper which the old man sent to you.

Ո̴͉̝̦̾̊̾͆̊̂̎́̾̏̐͜ւ̷̨̺̹̜̞͔̻͕̖̃̏͐ͅղ̷̢̢̙̼̣̭̤̣͖̃̌̔̏̆̽ͅա̵̧̛̌̽̀ր̵̨̫̘̥̘̪̈́̈́̀̆ͅկ̸̹̠́́̒͐̆̾̽̀̒̑̃̔͘͘͝ե̴͚͚̩̒̉̌̉̎̂́͛̃̌͋̎̇̕լ̴͇̗̭̻͙̫͐͑̂̄̇̈̆͐̂̿͋̌̐͝ ̸͎͉̯̮̼͈̫̙̠̑́́͗̽͠ա̵͈̘̫̫͖͌͊յ̵͎̖̮̜̞̇͋ն̶̰̻͖̫͔͖̬̫̞̤̘́̿̋̔͜

And with that, your jaw hurts, a tiny bit and there is a golden light and the vial is gone.

"You just spoke Enuncia?!" Meera says looking at you astonished.

"Ya. Finally after all that reading." You say

"Do you think you will be able to say the actual word that the Old Man gave you?" She asks.

"I hope so. His life probably depends on it."
__

A golden light appears next to the table you are sitting at and a small vial and small bag of some biological organ.

A smile comes to your lips, despite the pain from the cancer.

You take it over to the powerful macro analyzer entry port which has been waiting for something like this.

The more masterful thing, and to your delighted surprise, is that Kolinaisi actually mastered a word, one you only allowed him to put together through hints.

So you pick up the comm and give the briefest message.

"You were on target Kappa. Good job." You say

"Thanks Mu" he says back.

The machine can figure out almost anything when it comes to materials.

The organic life form that shed this fluid and material- is not from this galaxy easy enough, however judging by the calibration time, you already know, that this organism is absurdly tough to kill. It is going to take hours to figure out more about this creature.

So you brew some coffee.
_

When you walk in to the sparring ring you see Perturabo and Roboute practicing their shooting. This is probably for the best.

"Ah brother! How was your nap?" Roboute asks

"I was able to successfully say the word- or words, and the old man got it." You say and Perturabo gives an approving nod.

"The language sounds very, precise and technical to learn." Perturabo says

"Mate, I spoke two words and my jaw and throat hurts a little." You say and Roboute laughs a little.

"You ready to fight now?" He asks as you go to your 'locker' which you are thankful nobody has yet decided to borrow you gear from.

"I am." You say pulling out the axe and your armor, wondering if you should use the daggers.

"What if I duel?" Perturabo asks. And honestly, you aren't sure if you want that. Perturabo is the most efficient warrior you have ever met. He already knows the island style, and roboutes style. Though, to call any fighting he does is a style, is not the truth of it. The fact is he fights to win. Not for fun, not to get better- but to secure victory with the required amount effort. Any opponent who had to face him on the battlefield would be in for a fight for their life. You knew this far too well. Perturabo has gotten more hits on you than anyone who has fought you. Which is saying something. Nobody can normally hit you. Perturabo, makes it so that will happen fighting him. Just him being here has made you a better fighter, the very few times you have fought, but if you fought more- well, there is always more to learn. Roboute looks at you- he knows that Perturabo wants to duel, and get to know you better.

Which isn't hard to see why. Perturabo has spent a lot of time with Roboute. He and him have quickly become friends, though Perturabo was incredibly direct. It rubbed most people the wrong way, though Deliah, has taken quite the shine to him, and your not quite sure if Perturabo has taken a shine back, but it seems like it.

"I am fine with it if Kolinaisi is." Roboute says allowing for you to focus training on him, probably out of pity- as Perturabo is a fight that will take it out of you.

"Let's make this interesting." You say grabbing just your daggers, because otherwise, this is going to get a bit hectic.

"We fight. All three of us." You say and the difference in expression between Perturabo and Roboute is priceless.

Roboute is showing a good deal of disdain for this, but Perturabo seems excited by the prospect.

"Similar to how the battlefield truly is?" Perturabo asks

"Aya. I have had to fight multiple opponents, so should you." You say and Roboute makes some hand movements that are more of hesitance.

"This is a good idea I like this." Perturabo says and Roboute seems to indicate that this isn't a good idea. Eh.

"I might even fancy makin it a wager." You say and Perturabo looks intrigued and Roboute's eyes go wide.

"Oh?"

"If I win, Roboute, you assist me in commanding by takin over for my duties for 48 hours, perturabo, you take care of my fabrication and engineering duties." Roboute suddenly becomes slightly more stern in continence, but Perturabo looks like he may throw for the chance at that.

"If you win Roboute, I teach you the Enuncia I just learned, to the best of my abilities, and Perturabo has to make you some of his fancy armor." You say and Perturabo actually looks agreeable. Roboute looks like he is slightly more ready to win.

"Perturabo, if you win- I will teach you the Enuncia I just learned, and Roboute will have take care of your logistical duties for 48 hours." You say and Perturabo- looks like he is going to whup you like ya momma was given an automatic sandal slinger. Roboute doesn't look too worried.

"Is this acceptable?" You ask

"I graciously accept this wadger." Roboute says in a diplomatic way revealing his hand of not being worried. Him playing Island Rummy would probably be very dangerous for the big men when you get back.

"I accept the terms of this wadger." Perturabo says then holds up a hand

"But if there is some sort of tie- I want to specify that you may still teach us Enuncia at some point in time." Perturabo says.

"I agree." You say stepping into the roped off sparing area which was increased to fit your size. Though now a small crowd has gathered, and some of those from Nuceria are looking on excitedly. And your Honor guard seems to be excited as well.

"So how is victory determined?" Roboute asks and before you open your mouth Nazca steps up.

"In the interest of fairness, I think you three should do first blood across the chest- no armor." He says, and that- would heavily benefit you

"No." Perturabo says bluntly

"Why?" Roboute asks

"There would be far too likely a chance at a tie with how Kolinaisi fights, and you would win. How about this." Perturabo tosses the two of you a strange device that looks to be worn on the wrist.

"What is this?" Roboute asks, and you already know- because it has very minor traces of Jokearo tech and Perturabo was interested in your guests.

"A gift, at least for training. It's a hand portable, very mild version, of an Ion shield." Perturabo says and Roboute realizing this looks shocked. Perturabo probably had to do some really absurd fiddling to make this, and may have had to utilize something really absurd for an energy source, but you would need to ask him about it later.

"Ah, till the shield is broken." You say

"Indeed. However, for this exercise may I suggest we use base weapons, for this." He says bringing out a few standard blades.

"That would make it more even footing considering our brothers bag of tricks or his absurd daggers." Roboute says and Perturabo nods.

"Alright!" You say and you hand off the daggers to Nazca who takes them to your locker.

"So till the shield is broke. How long will that be?" You ask.

"That depends entirely on your strength, and how good your technique is, and how consistent you are with it. Unless you make a truly dazzling killing strike, in which case the shield will be knocked out." Perturabo says.

"And how does the shield work?" Perturabo asks putting on the wrist device

"Feedback. Hits are deflected. The last hit will cause feedback for you and the person who did it." Perturabo says.

"When do we begin?" You ask as Perturabo puts on his band, and you quickly put on yours and adjust it, feeling the machine spirit and understanding it.

"Nazca can you make that call?" Perturabo asks and Nazca nods.

Then after a brief moment that you and your brothers get into position, Nazca yells it

"FIGHT!" He says in a voice of thunder.

How do you proceed?

Book II

The Storm Shark
__

After a few instinctual tests with your nerves- you notice something, the power from the shield is able to boost your strength and other physical attributes- however it would quickly drain the shields power, making this a very quickly lost match unless you used it to empower a shield breaking blow. However, you are able to feel the hum of the electricity and the very peculiar machine spirit of the shield. You also notice- that Perturabo is an actual quality designer. Rapid power loss from an unusual source would trigger a different alarm than the combat alarm. So you can't just steal their power, at least easily.

You take one sword, though you would normally take up two, as you feel it may be better for your fighting. You need to develop your technique more- who knows how tough angron has gotten since you have been gone! You stand at the ready and you hear Nazca call for the fight to begin.

You charge in, not recklessly, but to gauge speed and reaction. Perturabo ever the quick study, goes at you first as you charge in evasively, your body spins past him causing Roboute- who is a much deadlier combatant than you think even his troops give him credit- uses the opportunity to almost get a clean hit on you which you duck, and get a clean hit on Perturabo. The Machine makes a stronger hum and is easier to detect after a hit- briefly. You get a clean slice at the achilles tendon, though the shield blocks it and it still registers. The machine spirits of these shields, while young, are incredibly bellicose and thrill in combat. In fact, with some modification it could be like one of the halo shields you have seen, maybe perturabo has these as a minor test.

As opposed to his swing.

He manages to use some level of acrobatics scoring a hit on Roboute, and taking him down as he comes down next to you. You go in for a leg sweep, which functions as intended allowing for you to get a good strike, and giving Perturabo what he needed.

While your instincts were good, Perturabo is able to grab you and take top mount, and perform the best strike against you since your spar with Angron. He hits and it's hard. He get's you where your body cannot react in time. You can feel the shield starting to weaken, so you do a simple kick off with a few rapid parting strikes from your blade that even Perturabo is unable to predict.

Roboute- however seeing what just happened comes in and cleverly hits both you and Perturabo. Which is what Perturabo wanted exactly, and then you realize something. Something that you would have not detected if you had gone about this fight differently.
>>
>>5206001
Perturabo, really hates fighting. He isn't doing good because he enjoys this. He is fighting on par with- if not better- than you, because he hates this. Maybe if you spent more time with him teaching him sparring you would maybe have figured it out sooner, or at least give him something better to fight for than, this. His attacks, his very mana itself, screams out against the act of violence. Yet you see the understanding of him knowing the time and place for violence.

And because of your evasiveness Perturabo has Roboute on the ropes because he wants to end this fight as quickly and efficiently as possible. The shield- as good as any archeotech, is protective. It isn't a weapon, but something to protect that which he cares about out. In this mere moment of reflection, you also see the way that Deliah looks at him, and can tell she understands as well. Two tortured souls. This is worse than the poetry yer da reads yer ma when they think you can't hear.

Your instincts change, and you feel the energy differently. You do a few quick hops and change your blade stance.

You run up as fast as you possibly can, flip over Roboute and make eye contact with Perturabo, smile and take the pommel of your blade and bonk him with it then kick him to the side. The momentum is powerful, and knocks him away from Roboute, and it's enough to puzzle Roboute.

Enough of this. You fight as an islander. As a big man. Time to show them what to fight for.

Roboute comes in first, and you duck his blade bonk him with your pommel and spin around him and kick him away. In enough time for perturabo to come at you, but he seems confused. His strikes, lack something.

You trap his blade with your own and disarm him with a simple island technique though the disarm accidentally hits roboute with the blade, which bounces off the shield, better claim that as intentional later. Roboute actually seems a little upset by this and comes at you, and in a rare move, makes a mistake. Namely he strayed to close to Perturabo who comes at him in a way that is almost typical of island style. He dodges roboutes blade gets a good hit and gets close to you. But not close enough, your footwork is faster now, and you instinctually move in such a way that it gets Perturabo close enough for a counter.

Which Roboute awards with a stern strike.

Good for him, you were wondering if he would actually land a solid hit.

You step a bit back.

Your shield cannot take too much more, but you think that may actually be a setting.

Roboute makes a few popping sounds and Perturabo squares up.

"I am actually starting to enjoy this." Perturabo says, and you can sense through his mana that he is telling the truth. This may change the fight.

OK!

So tonight's post is going to be really freaking long and I don't know if I will have it in by midnight or what.

It will also have key scenes that will be important for much later- since we are on the speed running timeline it has opened up to a certain part where as the eleventh primarch Kolinaisi is very close to joining the great crusade.

It also has us at a point with how much we diverge from the canon timeline.

Essentially if you want to get the word out for votes at any point in this quest tonight would be the night after I post.

There will be a lot of different things going on- and tonight a lot of curtains will come down, as we begin book two in earnest.

Have some ominous loading music for tonight that has nothing to do with this.

I pray to the Emperor not. I want this to at least get to the point of intention and conclusion I had for this.

Hell I haven't even had a hypothetical cross over with Malal yet though communicating that he'd be cool with it requires two party communication, though honestly if he just came in here and asked I'd say hell yeah.

We got to an important story arc point way sooner than expected, and that means a lot of writing. After I get done with assembling some cabinetry and some storage boxes for the Waifu.

Your creator, this Emperor of Mankind, made you this way for a reason, but lightning and electricity have evolved into your ally due to where you come from.

You have felt it for so long. It doesn't hurt you, but you understand it, you are able to feel through it. Through air, across distance, you can feel it. You can feel the tiny mana pulse from the shields.

You can hear the singing of the machine spirits of the ship.

You can smell the arc discharge of raw electricity.

As your brothers make a turn about--

You feel it.

It was there in front of you all along...

__

" The few space marine veterans who saw the initial spar between Primarchs Kolinaisi, Perturabo, and Roboute, would always be able to tell you the moment Kolinaisi became one of the more feared warrior primarchs, and it wasn't because he was glowin. Sure- he is the love of the navy and the mechanicum alike. But Go ahead. Ask the Wolf. Ask the Lion. Ask the Khan or Horus. Ask them who they want to fight, and they will spin you some tale of a beautiful perfect fight between them and Sanguinus or Russ, or test of Strength with Vulkan. Not a bloody one of them will say that they want to fight Kolinaisi, save maybe Perturabo or Fulgrim but for different weird reasons..

They want a fight that they can tell stories and tales about. Stories. Not a detailed report about a whuppin and the medical bill for Kolinaisi fixin em up. When you fight against Kolinaisi it's fighting against not only someone who knows how you're going to move before you actually do it- but one that knows how to wield a scalpel as well as a sword."

- Captain Naisi Makamaka Keikikāne Mīkini Kaipo Ruarua Kaiko

__

You feel their heart beats. You feel the electricity in their bodies, where it moves. In all the bodies.

It's like lookin at a particular somethin in an engine, you lookin at something you miss somethin else if you aint lookin right. But you can feel their electricity. You know how they will move.

So you react in kind.

Perturabo comes in with a strike that would have probably would have knocked you down and taken down the shield, but your whole body bends in reaction, in a way that surprises Perturabo as you use his own momentum to react to his powerful strike.

By dislocating his shoulder with with a pommel strike. Creating a bright flash.

Perturabo is out.

He looks surprised. And he looks in pain, but he also looks, not happy from the pain, but it's difficult. He has a smile. Roboute is trying to bring his sword down like an executioner.

That would normally be a good clean kill, but you sense the outcome before he fully commits to it.

As he comes you do a simple throw and reposition yourself as Roboute gets up.

"Where did this come from brother?" Roboute asks with a grin.

"I just listenin to my instinct." And your heart beat. Roboute nods and comes in, and he would have whupped ya.
>>
>>5207383

Had you not sense the true nature of his strike and how his muscles were really going. So you decide to test how good this sense is.

How good your instincts are.

You do not move. Roboute charges up.

You are a stone.

Roboute makes his few contortions to do what would have been a flawless islander leg sweep had you not felt it comin

As he goes low you flip over him and bonk him with the blades pommel.

Roboute is very hard to get angry, and you are pretty sure you are wearing on him a bit, or at least that's how he feels.

He gets to his feet and comes at you, this time less sloppy. He doesn't know what he is doing. He is going to use his hours and hours of training to come at you. He is going to react to you.

Which isn't that good of an idea.

You dart of to the side doing a parting strike at him knocking him down, the shield weakened now.

Roboute now, realizing his mistake with the last attempt comes at you more disciplined. Yet you still sense it. The electricity flowing. The mana. He comes in with something that probably a few moments ago would have knocked you out the fight. So you let him follow through and make a perfectly clean military style strike to dead center of his chest. Knocking his shield out.

"Fight over. Kolinaisi is the winner." Nazca says

"These are really good shields Perturabo!" You say taking yours off and tossing it to him. He then smiles and tosses it back to you.

"Keep them. They are gifts. Where did you find time to get better fighting brother?" Perturabo asks as Roboute walks over to the pair of you.

"Indeed! Were you hiding your strength from us for us to improve?" Roboute asks.

"I'll tell ya sometime after the raid. Which reminds me. Our bet." You say and Perturabo nods.

"I start immediately." He says and you hold up your hand and both he and Roboute look at you.

"I can offer you a rematch as I gave Angron, later- of course the terms of the wadger will have to be adjusted. I have been doin a lot of fightan before meetin ya both." You say honoring the real traditions of the island. And Roboute at first looks stern, then laughs a moment.

"Of course. So long as Perturabo and I get to pick the time and date." Roboute says and Perturabo also nods.

"That's fair." You say as some of the crew comes to talk to Roboute and Perturabo.

And Meera comes to talk to you.

"You fought really well!" She tells you a bit more eager than usual.

"I just tapped into my senses and instinct, and the fighting was a lot easier. It's strange." You say as you walk up towards the deck, past the goats. The goats- that have been producing milk, which you are able to grab some from the nearby fridge. Though the amount you need is a bit more than the average person.

"How are they producing milk? Don't they only do that when they are happy?" Meera says and you shrug.

"That's because they are. I keep them well fed and entertained." UR says walking up.

"I am not surprised buddy." You say and UR nods and motions to you.

"Pygmallius, whatever you have to say it can be said in front of my honor guard." You say causing Meera to motion to hit you with her elbow and rib ya. You let it pass it isn't painful. But you make a show of it.

"Especially Meera." You say and she laughs a little. Lately, Meera has been helping you with UR on issues, as she is the most technically skilled bar Nasi, and the kid needs a bit of a break. He may be crew, but the only one who works harder than him is either you or Jerah.

"It's nothing like that. It's about our mutual acquaintance that is in the box." UR says.

"What is it now?" You ask.

"It has requested that you and I should build it a form, for the upcoming battle. Similar to my own design." UR points out.

"We went over this." You roll your eyes.

"It gave you a"

"The hypothesis it gave me was trash. The parameters it gave me were trash. After what the old man has told me, what epsilon has told me, and what you told me- why would I want to follow it's idea? It was loyal before to me, true and proven. But just giving something like that a suite like you have? Nah." You say

UR's emoticon makes an amused face, now that you know what the various emoticons mean, and they are honestly similar to the tribal tiki masks for events so that makes it easier for you. You even fashioned one for them, which they actually wear frequently lately.

"Fair. Perhaps a robot goat." UR says and you let out a belly laugh at that. Which causes Meera to snort loudly.

"Ok. If they agree to the goat, maybe." You say and UR nods before going back to tending the goats.

When you get to the deck, Jerah, Yana and Your navigator are waiting.

"How was the spar?" Yana asks

"Your brother kicked their asses proper." Meera says

"Just when I thought I could get people to win money from thinking roboute or perturabo had a chance." Jerah says.

"Yeah not happening." You say and the navigator chuckles.

"We need to know the next route to plan, since it's almost shift change. There is a slight opening, we are still on schedule, but we could be earlier." The navigator says

"Yeah that's good, with the old man's health being in a dire state. What is the problem?" You ask

"The problem is, normally warp jumps give de-accel space and certain areas so you don't completely trash the solar system. The trajectory would basically put us right on top of Olympia. There would be no subtlety. We would come right on top of whatever forces the black judges have. Also the other ships, which are autonomously following us, while potentially helpful in this fight, would also come in quickly. And only a few have effective weapon systems for such a thing."
-
>>
>>5207385

"How much time would this opening buy us for a trip back to De'lormosa and then Nuceria?" You ask.

"It shaves off days for both, letting the old optimal window being in reach, making this trip much shorter, so long as we follow those particualarly hard to get currents and you continue to be a stellar navigator- whom also gets the appropriate amount of rest!" She says to you looking at you

"Navigators have no concept of actual naval duties." Jerah says and her face reddens a bit

"Freakin planet dwelling privateers. Important jobs require a proper amount of sleep, and a well functioning mind. While it is important to take care and run a small ship such as this, especially with all the technological marvels, your mind is a gift! Sure, any of your brothers could throw on that Artificial Third Eye, but you navigate through the warp currents as well as you surf! You understand star charts better than seasoned captains! I bet if I ask you what the current heading is now, you could tell me without looking at any of the equipment."

"Well we are off by a little bit because of what's probably a distant storm and alterations of the currents but-"

"SEE! YOU WERE RIGHT. You have a gift! And you cannot use it properly if you aren't in the right state. You aren't just common crew.
You aren't just steerage. You're special like us! There is more to you, and I will not let you subject yourself to dumb local customs and watch someone with your talent hurt themselves" She says. There has become a strange heirarchy on the ship, where while you listen to every crew member, only a few dare yell at you.

"Fixari Matilda Inoia." Jerah says as calm and as deep as the ocean looking at her and putting a hand on her shoulder. Damn, you didn't even know her full name.

"Yes?"

"This is a privateerin ship of De'lormosa. We signed to an account. You make what you earned. But the captain, has to make more. The captain has to do more work, and when you aint exactly normal like Kolinaisi, far more is expected still. Sure, he stayed up a few days lately. But he don't need a full 8 like you and Zed. How do you think Tig woulda act if she was here? I know. You get angry. You aint originally from De'lormosa. Hell I know ya was born on Terra, Frank told me. You uphold your noble navigator traditions, and we view our traditions as noble also. He is a big man. He carry a big weight. We De'lormosans are free, and Kolinaisi has helped us with that. We all see what he's doin. But don't. Don't insult others out of anger from a position of arrogance. Especially when the reason you are angry isn't just what Kolinaisi is doin." Jerah.

Spirits bless em. Man knows everything that's going on. Yana looks a bit more upset.

"What's wrong?" You ask.

"Tig. She's gone off to a dangerous place. She volunteered. She wanted to prove herself to me, because I angered her out of spite. From an offhand comment." And she comes up and starts cryin on your chest. Why do women keep doing this? You pat her lightly as does Meera.

After a few moments she gets herself together.

"So Cap. How do we do this? Initial Invasion Approach."

"It's not an invasion. It's a liberation. And-"

You finish with the coffee. You take a sip, and you are actually pleased with the quality of the locally grown beans. They are like home. Still.

Epsilon, Neoth, this Emperor. He was hiding what happened to Terra. His soldiers reaction spoke more than he ever could.

De'lormosa, while far more water than Terra was more like home to you. The islands and beaches of your youth before the cataclysms. Before whatever insanity happened to turn Terra into such a hellscape that a desert island next to a volcanic island seemed like tropical paradise. If they saw some of the other tropical islands, hell if they saw some of the shoals, that mans head probably come clean off.

The ding noise was different for the analyizer.

This was a problem.

You took out the liquid material as the organ stayed in.

The read out was far more troubling then you thought but you must verify, so you run over to the scanning giga transmission isotope microscope- one of the last of it's kind, able to see into quantum levels. But that's not why you need it, no. It's able to actively track far better than your other tools.

And it hits you like a truck from old terra.

Down to the microscopic level, from the cells to the microfauna.

This organism, was engineered down to the cellular level.

Worse.

It was engineered by one of three things, and you'd have to wait on the test to prove it, but looking at it, you already had strong suspicions.

1. This was either done by an ancient old one, who had somehow survived it's kinds demise by fleeing the galaxy.

2. This was made by one of the forerunner extra galactic scout AI's in attempt to create life on it's own and somewhere it went out of control.

3. Most frighteningly and depressingly. This was made by a human. Not just any human. A man of gold. One of the brave companions. One of seven who took one of the hyper ships to go out of the galaxy, knowing they would never be able to come back.

You sigh. You look at the comms.

He was an old friend. He would listen. But- this, news. With his position could worry him. Instead of the comms, there was always, the other option. The one you hated doing. Largely because Psykana Tech is just outright cheating for starters and because what it allowed you to do always would take a toll, though at this point- it probably wouldn't cause as much of a problem. Still, this infection.

It was the work of a Chaotic Warp God. Pfft. Arrogance of such a parasitic 'life' form to call themselves gods. They aren't even technically sentient. Thankfully the islands 'religious dogma' was thankfully exceedingly anti chaotic. The islander/De'lormosan religion, if it could be called that, was a series of principals. The Big Man, The Good Man, The Great Man - and that mana and spirit lived among people and that to purify the soul upon death certain rights had to be taken. These rights, ironically enough, literally prevent the soul from actually entering the warp and actually keep the soul as part of the 'mana' of the planet. This is because the core of the planet was molten Noctolith. Finally the mythos of most religions were that a "mighty god is a living man." That apotheosis was living a long and healthy ideal life, doing right by yourself and others and striving to be a good man or great man. Though, this could be problematic if one considers certain theoretical warp entities, the witches of the isles actively teach against that. While now active and actually doing things, as they are supposed to, they were teaching the old ways of how chaos was bad and how to ward against it, as well as teaching psykerism properly and to look for the signs of corruption from the parasitic warp entities.

Honestly it's like someone --

The timeline was different. The whole universe was. And looking at this biological material, you needed to know.

There were signs. Minute traces of Hawking radiation. Tachyon distortion. However that could be accounted for with FTL. You had to be sure. And there was only one solid test to determine if something could actually have time travelled. Blue shifted radiocarbon. And if it's present it would be so minute that only a few things in the galaxy were left that could detect it. One of them is an advanced detector on terra, if it wasn't destroyed. The other is on Mars, if they didn't do creepy Marsy things to it. Then yours. On your Victoriana. Deep in a subsector that you hadn't been down to in ages. Sure you could theoretically find it on your scope.

However.

It may be pertinent to inform Neoth, whatever he went by. Your old colleague, though to say he was that - well friend would have been better. And you departed as friends. You to explore the galaxy, him to continue his great research. You think hard.

There is a beep from the machine, and the secondary track detectors go off. And you recheck the results.

And it just went down to only one real option for what created this, and you really don't like it.

The chittering was getting louder. It was annoying. The grandest game of all time, yet the elder siblings acted so serious. No joy. No ambition.

They were making mistakes.

The Eldest put quite a bit of stake in a peculiar piece that the shark liberated from his domain.

The Schemer, lost two key pieces or just one and used another piece as some sort of long con scheme. How banal.

The Unclean one, took upon himself to liberate the golden piece and this put it on a timer, soon it would be gone and would cause havoc across the board, why would anyone bother with such a thing?

All this and arrogance towards the youngest- gave the youngest something the others didn't have.

A plethora of options. So many pieces were available.

There were the obvious choice piece the youngest had been watching. It was perfect at the moment and lining up just right, however there were other pieces. The mysterious piece, for one, strayed dangerously close to the youngest. Then there was the beautiful yet terrifying piece. The one that the eldest had been looking at. It's position on the board was so precarious, yet- far away from the shark piece that still, nobody could figure out who, what, or why it got on the board. Was it the light? The Shadow? Something else?
Or was the shark piece actually still in play? The youngest considered the shark piece, it would almost make sense. Yet- it seemed like an amount of work not worth an effort. Though- it would be a hilarious coup if done and would cement the youngest in a position of respect. The youngest turned their gaze but to where?

PICK ONLY ONE.

"Magnus, it is strange tidings to see you here." Fulgrim stated in his normal tone which didn't seem to offend Magnus

"I would say the same thing, had I not realize our paths would cross on this campaign as well."

"I heard father found more sons."

"You heard correctly. Five more to be precise, and our new brother, Lionel Johnson, Or at least that's how I was told their name was, is going to be getting right to leading his army- which is oddly the first legion."

"The Angels of Death finally get their Primarch? For a second I thought Horus was just going to roll them into his Luna Wolves." Fulgrim says with a chuckle.

"Apparently not." You respond

"What of the other four?" Fulgrim asks

"Well, I only met one. But they are Angron, Kolinaisi Kaiko Wahtiri, "

"That is a bizarre name." Fulgrim responds

"Apparently their culture takes names, similar to the custodes. He actually has a much longer name that isn't fully developed yet." You tell him

"Well where are they from?"

"Angron Nuceria , Roboute Guilliman Maccrage, Perturabo Olympia, and Kolinaisi Kaiko Wahthiri is from De'lormosa, which I must say is beautiful, based on the reports of their legion master and seeing it in his dreams."

"Oh we finally found a primarch from a paradise world. Another one. Hopefully they are at least not as big a hypocrite as the Second Legion's"

"On the contrary, it wasn't a paradise world always. Kolinaisi actually started projects to clean it and use the junk left behind to build housing, space ships, and power his planet among other things." You respond and Fulgrim blinks.

"Truly?"

"Yes. Some strange Dumper Clans"

"Oh those monsters. Worse than the Orks. They were part of the reason Chemos was in such dire straights environmentally." Fulgrim says in a spiteful, yet interested tone.

"He also had run ins with the Drukharii and the Ganth of all things."

"The Ganth and Drukharii? What part of the galaxy is he in? I thought those creatures were banished from the crusade ages ago." Fulgrim states

"I hear there is worse, apparently a Rangdan incursion is happening in Nuceria, where Angron is at." You state dutifully. Fulgrim's face turns sour.

"It would be unfair of us to not help our younger brothers." Fulgrim says, in an odd tone for him.

"It would."

"I think, perhaps we should divert a small faction towards that way. Perhaps to help our brothers." Fulgrim says

"I think that is a capital idea brother." You respond.

"What is this idea?" Horus says entering the room, with much confidence, and curiosity.

Koli could ask the machine spirits to help his men with targeting and space combat for the ship's so it won't be as taxing for his forces since they have low numbers and can't man everything, could have UR "hop into" the bigger ship perturabo is keeping to get as many guns online as possible

You look to Fulgrim and nod.

"Our brother, the one our father has been keenly interested in hiding from us- has his legion en route to meet him." Fulgrim says and Hours paused.

"What do we know of him."

"He is a bit similar to us in many ways. He came from a feral ocean planet, polluted by some of my old enemies, only to clean it and make it a beautiful paradise of superb nature yet technologically mighty."

"A techno barbarian? Interesting." Horus said sitting down nearby.

"Furthermore, he was able to find three of our other brothers, a Roboute Guilliman, a Perturabo of Olympia, and an Angron of Nuceria. I haven't talked to father about it yet, but I think I'd like to meet him. His adventure and tale is absolutely absurd yet something I would expect within any of our capacity. He managed to steal a Ganth Ship, and" Fulgrim looks at you and you nod yet again, knowing he has intelligence somehow, and also he is much better at talking to Horus.

"The ship is an archeotech pocket cruiser, apparently the Rumi, renamed to of all things 'The Something Fierce.'"

"HA!" Hours let's out a little chuckle and smiles

"I like it! He should do that with all his ships."

"I doubt anyone would like that brother. Though he seems to have simple hobbies, Fishing, slaying monsters, working on technology, he even is a practicing surgeon and a Commandant of a small rag tag fleet. Also apparently, if I am saying this right, his people practice an old Terran Tribal Athletic past time, something called 'surfing' which is the act of riding waves of water upon a board, it takes quite a bit of skill. A very hard hobby to master" Fulgrim says, and something about him, it looks like - there was once an odd psychic current around him. It's gone. Odd.

"I like him already." Horus says

"You like everyone." You say

"I am not so sure about this Lion'el Johnson, to be quite honest. He is being thrown right into leading the first legion. He is young, but apparently he is already a knight and general of great renown." Hours says

"Surely not Jealously from the Lupercal." Fulgrim says patting Horus on the back.
-
>>
"Of course not, if I had anything to be jealous of it would be this Pirate Fleet Captain brother! That sounds like quite the fun childhood right there." Horus says giving a chuckle.

"Actually, he would be a privateer." Fulgrim says in a sort of mock intellectual tone that he would use to scold- ugh. The Second Primarch. That Golden Eyed hypocritical paradox. Why couldn't he have crashed into somewhere that had given him a decent parent, or a village in the middle of nowhere or flaming dumpster instead of the rock garden of some Philosopher Warlord. If he recited anything from his 'Way of War and Life' again..

"What's wrong Magnus?" Fulgrim asked politely and apparently your thoughts and anger had manifested slightly.

"Just thinking of our beloved brother of the Second Legion." You say trying to sound nice and Fulgrim does something so rare it causes Horus to be taken a bit back. He lets out a mirthful laugh of joy. Not one of scorn, not one that was mean spirited. But a laugh at your statement.

"Brothers we should meet more often if there will be this much fun. Magnus, thank you for sharing what you knew about our brothers." Fulgrim says with a nod and Horus looks to you and he seems quite impressed.

"What is his name?" Horus asks and Fulgrim looks to you

"His name-"

"RuaRua Kolinaisi Kaiko Wahthiri! Wake up!" Meera shook Kolinaisi and he looked up and he seemed less dazed

"Ow." He said quietly and Meera held his head.

"Ya alright mate?" Jerah asked. He slowly positioned himself and put Meeras hand into his.

"I had the headache again. It was far worse than I ever had. It was like holding the rite knife." He said struggling to stand up on his feet.

Something was watching Kolinaisi. Something powerful. You could sense it. Chaotic.

Not too long until you shed this form and take on the true form of a man of gold could have.

But, it would be best to tell 'Epsilon' first.

You briefly think of using one of the few psykana techniques you bothered truly mastering- Astral Projection. But that- would probably cut your life span down. No time for that.

You pull out the comm. You encrypt the key.

"Ah Epsilon it's yer old Friend Mu."

There is a static.

Then there is a pause.

"Epsilon is a bit busy. His position is quite important." Someone says on the other end.

"Well how long will it take for him to get back?" You ask

"If it is truly important I am his second." The person says.
>>
>>5209931
"Mate, if you were his son or his little dog Hiram I still wouldn't tell ya." You say giving a passing sigillite joke that Neoth would probably get a chuckle at that this creti-

"The one with the little blue collar?" By the way of the furthest star. Another brother. In the service of Neoth? Truly. The phrase to ask, you hadn't used it in ages

"Ya mate, that's the one. Though, he always was gettin lost, hold is little Hiram?" You ask hoping the phrase that you had memorized in case of this very scenario would ever happen. Hopefully he knew the way to confirm his rank and lodge. Anything.

"That dog would travel west to east then east to west all day till it would sit by the stained glass window featuring Polaris. It died thirty three years ago sadly, when he died he left no sires sadly, though we may have found a brother. What of you friend, you seem like a traveler" So, he was the last remaining, and thus took the high rank of steward searching for another brother. Now you must hope against hope- your tale isn't unbelievable.

--
Malcador couldn't believe it. His greeting- was that of an ancient sigallite, maybe even illuminary, he had to be sure. It was really hard to use a phrase that always would give a proper answer of some kind. The Traveler, was the only question that would work right now. Granted the journey portion always made for an interesting response

" For some, the journey is unending. I have travelled till east became west, and went further still and back." So this would be a loremaster

"I have been to highest places of both great mountains were few would dare to tread and climbed to the place few dare go" This is someone who was an initiate of all three ancient orders- a relic of before the dark age of technology, few made both orders, even fewer still for the three

"My travels have taken me to deepest mines, to search for rarest gems that sparkled bright." A keeper of wisdoms! A guardian of ancient science and technology!

"And I have journeyed beyond, and have witnessed orientalis, occidentalis, polaris, and borealis." This indicated that they had been to space and were gifted a ship.

"I journey yet still to reach the furthest star where titans dare."

And there it is.

You are talking- if they are being honest, which it seems - to the living memory. A man of gold.

"You are the Archivarius."

"I go by Martin more recently mate."

"You- is all of this with the eleventh your meddling?"

"Not really. He tends to cause trouble on his own, I help out a little here and there though. I need to to talk to Epsilon." He asks again

"He really is indisposed." You respond.

"Then I shall wait." And he does, but not long, as the Emperor enters the room he looks directly at you then the comms

"who is it?" The emperor says over the comms

--

"You old friend. I have much to discuss, and I have suspicions. " You say to the emperor.

"Oh?"

"Yeah and let's get Kappa on the line too."
-
>>
>>5209933

_

"Kappa you there?" You hear the old man come in and ask.

"Ya Mu. I am here."

"Ya sound like you got a whoopin Kappa, everything alright?"

"Sudden headache." You say

"Oh that, well I hope this discussion doesn't make it worse." the Old man says

"Oh? How so?"

And by the end of the discussion, you'd wish you hadn't asked.

__

"So, you think something, created these beasts and they are heading this way." Epsilon, your creator says.

"Indeed, they are already here and these seem to be more like a scouting unit." The Old Man responds

"And these creatures, were clearly engineered by some intelligence?" Epsilon says.

"Sadly I can tell down to the details whom and what engineered them." The old man says

"Certainly it cannot be something that would be saddening."

"The Brave Companions." The old man says and everyone on deck looks confused. There is quiet over the radio. The pause is longer than you are used to.

"Do you have the proof of it?" Epsilon asks. The pause is lesser.

"Unfortunately."

"How sad it is, when you watch your heroes fall. When Titans crash to ground. Kappa. Rho. My sons. If you see these creatures, do not hesitate. Prosecute their destruction with absolute prejudice. Mu. Would this confirm if they are -"

"They may be. They may be the force that is driving this creatures out of their galaxy." Mu says

"Who are the brave companions?" You ask not sure what any of this means.

"The Brave Companions. The Farstriders. The first humans to go faster than light. They left the sol system in protest of Terran and Martian politics. They used a very powerful yet basic drive, few accounts actually detail what happened, all that is known is all attempts at the replication of that colony ship failed and the drives that could go ftl with out warp all lead to madness, this is because their unique drive and the method behind it was taken with them." The old man says.

"They were some of the bravest and most intelligent humans to ever live. Go with honor. There is much work to do." Epsilon says

"Aye. I will contact again soon with more results." The old man says.

You look at the others and they are looking at you.

"What?" You ask.

"Before this, you were going to inform us of what your navigational strategy was." Your navigator asks and Jerah nods.

"I will get us the time we need, there is probably a better way to do this and get us there without making a tactical blunder." You say, and the headache is not entirely gone. It isn't as powerful, but something.
Somewhere.

"That's great Cap, which shift are ya gonna take for it?" Fix asks.

"I'll take second shift, I got somethings to do, I'll get some things done then" You say looking at the crew

"Get a full rest. Then a few things and we start up ya?" You say to a deck that's mood has much more improved. "Good Idea lad." Jerah says patting ya on the shoulder.

"Though I think you should probably make sure everything is ready as far as these new ships are. This is gonna be trickier than fishin for Heartstoppa eels." Jerah says and you nod.

"Ya." You say putting your hand to your temple. The pain is annoying. It's a bit different now, but it's still there. And it still feels like someone, somethin, is watchin over ya shoulder. It's causin your sense to be a bit wonky.

"Koli?" Arona asks comin inside the deck.

"Ya Cuz?" You say lookin at her and she gives you a slight nod. She looks seriously at you and you follow her outside.

"What's up?" You ask.

"Frank is seriously considering courtin me. I found this in somethin he left me." She hands you a note. And despite being probably one of the scariest warriors on the ship, Frank has exquisite penmanship and is extremely well written. The note isn't even that lurid. More odd, he sketched an almost perfect image of her.

"Whoa." You ask

"Ya." She says leanin back on a bulkhead.

"Ya da?" You ask

"He know. He knew before I did. He say 'dat boy wanna marry ya' and he seems, alright with it." She asks, but you know the actual proper reason.

You a big man and a captain. You could officiate when they meet up and cut out any -

"You just don't want my Da to officiate and it to be awkward on the island with all the lads that there that were waitin on ya to get back." You say and she smiles and lets out a laugh like Kai.

"That, and I know we don't have much for ceremony. Plus I love him too." She says. That's good enough for you.

"Well that's all I need. I'll take care of any ceremony and distribute sometin. A big man's cousin can't have a rubbish weddin." You say with a grin

"Koli." She says looking at you serious as death.

"Ya." You look back grinin big for effect

"Nothin big. Small. A small mokka. Somethin so we can start off. Not somethin like 300 chickens."

"500 chickens. Got it." You respond given her the business and she socks ya in the shoulder. You wince for effect.

"Koli. I am serious. We don't need that much." She says and you nod. She hugs you and walks off. Wait. Last time you checked in with Nasi he was with her.

"Hey cuz wait up!" You say catching up.

_

"We are here." The familiar face of Tig, because Eliana is on the same shift as you, wakes you up.

You take a deep breath.

"That route really worked out well." You say.

"Yeah we're ahead of schedule. We have to be quick. Every second we spend here is a second we are not on Nuceria." Tig says

"And they need our help." Tybro says, stepping out from the whole room he has, largely because he is too big for a single bunk.

"Indeed." Charon says looking over.

"So what's the plan?" He asks as Roboute's guards look amazed by the natural wonder of Nuceria.

"Get the meds to the old man. See if Kolinaisi needs anything picked up then we go like mad to Nuceria. When does the window close for that route?" You ask Tig who looks at the tired lookin Eliana who has stepped out from the special navigator chamber. Fortunately her third eye is closed, but there was a close call when it was open but she closed it before anyone but Tig noticed.

"Ugh. Four five hours tops." Eliana says groggily putting a headband over her forehead, probably as a precaution.

"What about supplies?" Max, as he has been given the nickname due to Maximus Gaius Agrippa being a freakin mouthful, asks.

" Old man is aware. He will have some for us. If not, I go to my ship." You say knowing that it would be a stupid fast trip to the ol hive. Tybro then looks at you and he has a good point.

"Or we can just use the emergency supplies on the nearby island. I am sure Kolinaisi would want to know our progress you say and Charon put's the ship down next to the now glowing sea next to the old man's island, which having seen it from underwater before, you know for fact is no island.

It's the biggest void ship you have ever seen that wasn't a colony or hive ship. The fact that Larger ocean predators used it for cover made it quite ominous to pass near. No wonder the fishing was always good here, there is a huge diversity of wildlife.

Tybro, Max, Tig and You step out, as Charon, Eliana and 'Cris' go hit the rack. The Old Man is waiting nearby.

"I hear y'all have something for me." He says, and he honestly looks like he has been through a lot and you hand over the meds as Tybro offloads the other materials.

"This'll work great!" The Old Man says lookin at the pills then scoffs and chuckles as he reads the directions.

"Tell Kolinaisi I don't need spectacles just yet." He says

"You tell him yourself when he gets here." You tell him.

"Yall supplied?" He asks.

"Kinda? We don't exactly know what we are in store for at Nuceria other than Rangda. Which means Sloughth and maybe- enslavers." You say cringing and shuddering. If you ever have to see one of those weird beasties again it will be too soon.

"A Rangda incursion? Kolinaisi knows?" Old man says and you nod.

"Well that makes this easy. Ya got armor?" The old man asks and you have the armor made on the ship

"Ya. new stuff Perturabo made." You say pointing to some of it and the Old man nods

"Got adriathics?" He asks

"I have my Adriathic sniper rifle. Our small team has a bunch of flamers and Tybro has-" You motion and he has the huge claws that have the chain saws on the inside, with flamers and you think adriathic bolters.

"Ok, That's good, but Adriathics have to recharge after some time so I hope you have spare weapons that can last a while." The Old Man says
>>
>>5210942
"I hope so too. We may be in a situation where we are running guns who knows what's going on at Nuceria." You say and the old man smiles and whistles. About 40 seconds later a splash about 500 meters out and a large container comes over and puts itself on the ship.

"That should do ya." He says with a smug grin.

"What is it." You ask

"Something really rare. Hard as hell to get. Only a few people have an STC for it." He says.

"You have an STC for everything." You say and he shakes his head.

"Naw mate. I have the STC STC among other things. Naw. Those are environmentally charged plasma rifles and something that's a smaller version of what I am making Kolinaisi." He says. You try one on and you remove the agonizer and he let's out a real low whistle.

"Kolinaisi know you have one of those?" The old man asks

"He don't need to know about that." and he doesn't you feel the glove and realize it's a ranged weapon in addition to a smaller version of a power fist.

"What does it do?" You ask

"It fires lightning." He says and whoo boy does it. Kolinaisi gonna like that.

_

You and Arona get a call on the comm.

"Heya Kappa this is uhhh, Fulcrum?" Frank says over the radio and Arona's eyes light up.

"Sure that'll work, technically the call-sign would be something else, but- why not. Fulcrum. What news from Mu?"

"Packages have been delivered, gifts have been received. There is a 3 hour window."

"What can be done in a 3 hour window?" You ask Frank

"We could get to part of the place we met up at once before and pull out some other useful items. Mu could theoretically manufacture more supplies. He could also arm the ship, however we wouldn't be able to go to the place you had visited. We could theoretically book it to the pole, and maybe pick up some people willing to go. Also, I may pick up the black stones and sand for clay- the rangda don't like it." Frank says

"What about my ship? Could you have it tail you to Nuceria and we could actually use it to fight off stuff there." Jerah says, you now realizing roboute is on the deck and Jerah is probably borrowing it.

"Ya. It would be helpful if Mu thinks the planet's defenses are sufficient enough." You say

"We'll manage but that will take up most of the time" Mu says. And there it is. The ball is in your court. Jerah could get his ship right now. Which would be a boon in Nuceria and after everything in Olympia.

Sorry lads. Let's say the work op tempo has gone into max overdrive and I have had medical issues that are honestly kind of troubling.

ANYWAYS.

You guys picked the one path that allowed for you to find something out way sooner than normal!

You look at Jerah and sigh.

"We can't mate. Not yet. Who knows about what the old man told us, or if the Ganth decide to get revenge when we get to Nuceria we will send for it. If the Old Man put's out the call I am sure they will answer." You say.

"Ya mate. I know. But you've seen the ship! The Auditor is a massively powerful ship and can turn the tide in any scenario!" Jerah says and you can see that he really wants it.

"And ya'll have it before this campaign is over." You say and he nods.

"Alright mate." Jerah says with a note of skepticism in his voice and you don't take issue with his tone, because he has every right to be skeptical.

You hit the comm

"Frank mate. Not enough time Reload, refit, get good food and maybe- some of the blackstone from the island Maybe some of the fruit can grow there on Nuceria. Get a little rest then go." You say.

"Aight." Frank says.

"Old man follow the directions on the damn meds!" You say in faux outrage. Almost.

"Aye!" He says back.

_

The time on the island, is brief.

Cris and Max really take it in. You let them.

Tybro, gathers all of the black stone he can in bags that are impressive in size.

And you have to be patient.

And you can't tell anyone why.

Except one person.

The old man comes over.

"What is wrong? Is this not a pleasant respite?" The old man asks.

"It is." You say as you look on the rest.

"Frank, ya can keep ya secrets. Just don't let them cause a problem for your nuceria mission." The old man says.

"I can tell one person. That's it." You say telling the truth.

"Oh? Well I hope they are-" The old man looks at you carefully studying you with his knowing eyes and raises an eyebrow then comes out with a small device. It starts beeping.

"You aren't originally from here." The Old man says.

"That's one way of putting it bluntly." You respond.

"A better question would be when." He says and you sigh and look at him.

"Oh I got the answer from here. I can tell you exactly when you are from. But something tells me you can't tell me that." He says and you nod

"So was it an accident or intentional?" He asks you and you are left at an odd position. On one hand, you technically could tell him a lot and not actually break the one rule. However, answering a bunch of weird questions is also a work around. You have a little bit of time.

Your brothers.

The thought was still strange to you. Perturabo was a brilliant man who had actually grown quite a small contingent of friends among the refugees, and has grown a fast friend to Nasi.

Kolinaisi, was the kind of leader you heard stories about as a child. One who could lead from the front, and from a strategic position, one who could be both warrior and sage.

Your men were pleased with the situation. Though you briefly worried about Maximus and Crispus.

You paused to look at the 'Go' Board. Perturabo was once again doing well. This game was so strange, yet so challenging.

"Your move brother." Perturabo tells you seeming pleased probably for the same reasons you are

"Indeed." You say putting down the piece and Perturabo looks carefully.

"What is wrong with our brother?" Perturabo asks

"He has headaches, though I haven't seen them that bad before." You say.

"Deliah worries." Perturabo says

"Gella does as well. I think we all do." You say as boots hops up on your shoulder, signaling that Gella has returned with news

"Speaking of, Kolinaisi is going to take the second shift tomorrow after taking care of business. Including sleep." Gella says sitting down next to you.

"I am surprised you had a go board this big." Perturabo says

"We had it made in case Kolinaisi wanted to play in his down time. The problem is crew on this ship while, there is downtime, there isn't as much for Kolinaisi." Gella says

"He doesn't seem to be bothered by that too much." You say

"No. But it is a worry. The assault begins soon. We have to make sure he is ready for the assault." Gella says

"I don't think that is going to be a problem, our brother is more than capable." Pertuarbo says as Deliah barks a laugh, announcing that she too has returned.

"He is, but that doesn't mean he is taxed. There is a difference between good, good enough and barely scrapin. Koli is good enough but he honestly could be a bit better." Deliah says

"Oh how so?" You ask her

"He hasn't surfed in a loooooong time. He has been eatin mostly rations and not meals. When he works on something he works on it until it's perfect. He needs to be makin perfect the enemy of good." She says.

"Oh. You think he may start becoming a perfectionist if this keeps up." Gella says her tone changed.

"Aye. And I think that can be handled if we figure out a way to do something before we make landfall. Also- as honor guard we need to practice some combat drills with him." Deliah says and Gella nods.

"So how do you suggest we solve this problem?" Perturabo says looking at you placing his piece.

Think koli should be upfront that some thing has changed since he had the last big headache as he felt that there was a presence around that wasn't there before

Definitely a more direct though subtle influence from the youngest as koli hasn't shown any interest of perfection in the past and focused more so on constant improvement with his encounters, definitely think koli should have the old man (and maybe the witches should he find a reason to ask them in particular) to help with this, as koli already knows something is (not necessary knows it's influencing his actions) definitely watching him that wasn't their before
Think he should deal with the influence of a chaos god a soon as possible before it leads to drastic and odd changes in his thoughts and actions

"I can't tell you much, but you are a learned man." You say

"Something tells me you aint exactly no slouch either." The Old Man says and you sigh.

"Let me tell you a story old man." You say sitting down next to him on the little bench that he made.

"Well I guess ya got time."

"You heard this story. Once upon a time, the men of gold lived among the men of silver. A man of gold could come from anywhere, be anyone. But you would find them among "

"Mate- skip that part I know you are initiated from yer shootin and how Kolinaisi talks. I don't think ya my kin though."

"Right. A long time ago- say early second millenia around 2245 "

"Ya ya the first FTL ship ever the reason we do warp, the Lightbringer incident. A ship is detected going blue shift, nobody knows what happens and it's gone from the universe." The Old Man says says passing you a bottle of palm wine. You take a swig. It's got more bite than the Captain's Special rum- which is used mostly as a disinfectant and painkiller.

"It didn't just go. It just travelled forward a different way To roughly 50,000 years later." You state and the old man looks at you.

"You aint Captain Ace Aldrin. You sure as shit aint Leona Bell, and I highly doubt your Daisy, last time I checked you go by Frank" He says taking a swig of his palm wine

"AEshir "Frank" Franklin Aldrin was also onboard." You say and the old man spits his wine out.

"You were the thrice damned baby they sent on that mission? The one that Ace adopted? Fuck man I am sorry, that man was an ass."

"Anyways. The ship, the lightbringer was detected by an Adeptus Mechanicus ship, of the Human Imperial Factionists" You say and the old man looks at you.

"The crew was alive an confused. Ace, supposedly died of shock. Leona went mad. Daisy was young enough to not get brain damage, and worked with the mechanicum in reverse engineering what was on the ship per order of one Roboute Guilliman on behalf of the Emperor of Mankind in his reincarnated form. The future looked bleak, the orks, having fought the Tyranids in many endless engagement evolved back into the Krork, The Necron empire had grown, but had separate factions jockying for control and tactics. Worse, they began experimenting, and had an army of human necron hybrids, called pariahs, and began on very strange biomancy. The Tau Republic was one of the few Xenos races that would stand with man, but not the imperial faction. The Aeldari- let's not talk about that. Mankinds population had dwindled. Significantly. In a last desperate act, reverse engineering the technology of the ship, the reincarnated emperor of mankind sent the 5 year old Aeshir back in time using the same FTL method that the ship had. Aeshir, five years old was given a few simple mission parameters, psychically implanted into him. Something which no five year old should have to do- might I add. All because his was the only body which would be able to go, as the time travel wouldn't kill him" You say bitterly.

"I see. So past to future, future to present. So this Aeshir. Where would he go."

"His mission was to go deffeat the Ganth, prevent them from escaping the galaxy, prevent the pharos incident, and insure that they met the Emperor of Mankind before the Triumph Ullanor so that he may take stock of the psychic implants and glean all the information from the real future, and know that this time is different." You say

"Oh how so?" The Old Man asks

"Chronomancy run amok by various entities. The Star Child, is the only being that favors humanity that is able to traverse it freely, and would assist Aeshir and others, trying to develop a strategy." You tell the old man

"I see." The old man looks down at a watch.

"Does it have to be in person?" The old man asks.

"What?"

"Would Aeshir have to meet this individual in person?" The old man asks

"I mean, in theory so long as he could reach into Aeshir's psyche it would work." You tell them.

"Hmm.." The old man looks down at his watch then around then at the meds. He pops one of the pills and cringes.

"I suppose Aeshir would be used to time travel so an astral projection would be fine with them?" He asks

"Uhhh, I am not sure if that's how-" and you puke.

And you are in what looks like a command deck surrounded by men of over 9 feet tall several giants, and the Emperor of Mankind stands before you. There are several bolt shots and they pass harmlessly through you.

-
>>
>>5215505
"HOLD YOUR FIRE." One of the towering figures in gold says, and the guards nod.

"Old friend, you could have just called." The Emperor says and his guard move about. An old man, whom you recognize as Malcador the Hero, stands next to him.

The Old Man looks at Malcador and nods with a grin, Malcador grins slightly and nods back.

"Not this time my friend. I have limited time. If what this man says is true, it is something you need to know now."

"Well how would you know he speaks truth?" The Emperor asks

"He does." The Old Man says.

"What does he say?" The Emperor asks.

"Neoth Son of Kurak. I Am Aeshir Franklin Aldrin. I have come to you from the Year 52,042 to give you dire tidings. Your reincarnated form instructed me to tell nobody the full truth to anyone except you and gave me the skill to do so." You say. The emperor, with a worried contenenance that worries the guardians and Malcador, strides up to you and merely touches your forehead with his thumb.

His eyes begin to glow a golden light as the world around him seems to alter slightly, becoming more radiant and it becomes hard to see.

You hear a powerful scream, but your not sure what. It's like the universe is quaking.

It stops.

Gradually.

He looks upon you and he looks sorrowed. He holds you like a father would a child, albeit your incorpreal form.

"You, have been through much. You have reunited me with something that I thought had been lost. Your faithfulness to your mission is a great boon."

"Things are different this time. I was told to tell you that. That things can and will change. That the future isn't fixed." You say and Malcador looks strangely to the Old Man then the Emperor

"No it isn't." The Emperor seems to have a smile on his face, and you can feel raw power, despite this just being your soul.

"Your sacrifice has been great. Continue you your mission as instructed. And continue to assist my son. That goes for you too old friend." He says and the Old Man smiles.

"You don't mind if I be keepin my ship then?" The old man asks with a smirk. Malcadors jaw drops. The Emperor then gives a look that probably has killed at least a few xenos from fright. Then laughs.

"If you managed to care for it all this time it would only be right for you to continue to care for it." He says

"It still runs like it's new." The Old Man says.

"Lovely." The Emperor says

"Stay well friend." The old man says

"You as well." The Emperor says

The tropical air hits your face and you vomit.

Again.

"Easy lad. You did good." The Old man says

"I didn't do a damn thing! I just stood there like an idiot and said what I was supposed to!" You blurt out and the old man starts laughin.
>>
"Yeah that's exactly what you were supposed to do and you did it great. And from what I gleaned from the psychic transference I was able to determine where this timeline diverged initially. The next time the Leviathan comes by I am gonna give em the business like ya never seen." The Old man says with some glee.

"THE FUCKIN LEVIAT- You know what. Don't care. That's not even on my radar with how today has been." You say sitting down and pull out your rifle to do a functions and clean check, namely because it's the most sane thing to do right now.

"Good lad. When they ask you if you want to be a Space Marine, you will have some options." The old man says blathering something

"What?" You more say than ask.

"Lad. The way space marines work, is that they are regular people that get turned into em. Due to your position with Kolinaisi, I imagine they will probably want you to. " The Old Man says

"And?" You say trying to just feel better from the out of body experience.

"You need to think about if you want to have a kid with Arona fast, if you want to be a space marine and fight with Kolinaisi they gonna take that from ya, yet there are more ways to serve mankind." The old man says giving you a strange book with two keys on it.

"What's this?" You ask

"Read it. It will do ya good." He says and you pocket the book.

"How far is the trip to Nuceria?" The Old Man asks

"In theory we got less than a week." You say

"Ah. You got one of the old speedsters. Nice" He responds.

"Ya'll got a little time." He says as the rest of the crew comes up and you look at him

"How about a hot and proper meal?" He asks

"How long will it take?" You ask

"Not too long." and you look at the rest. They need a solid meal. You nod.

"And then we do a Haka!" Perturabo says excitedly.

"As much as I think he would be bemused by that, celebration is for after victory brother, we should probably just- talk to him." You say

"I like his idea better." Gella says pointing to perturabo.

" No, we need to talk to him, and communicate. We need to just talk to him. He probably hasn't noticed anything because of his schedule. Think about it, normally he performs optimally, but lately he makes sure everything is perfect." You say and this worries Gella and Deliah.
>>
>>5215511
"Are you sure?" Deliah asks as she casually scoots next to Perturabo, which that is probably something that needs adressal later.

"Well, yes. I have noticed it to. But it mostly relates to machines and to certain conversations involving navigation." Perturabo chimes in and you nod.

"Yeah I heard that too. I know it's crucial that we save time, but hoepfully it isn't -" Deliah looks worried and nods to Gella. Deliah then kisses Perturabo on the cheek, then Gella gives you a smirk and then the two go off.

"What are you two doing?"

"We are getting your brother." Deliah calls back.

"I think that woman is attracted to me." Perturabo says.

"I would imagine so." You respond.

"I also believe that you are attracted to Gella." Perturabo says

"I - Well, she is brave and clever and "

"Every member of Kolinaisi's honor guard is attractive and you know it." Perturabo says in a fashion as blunt as a hammer

"Well. Yes. I have to be wary of political marriages on Maccrage though. I cannot just easily marry whomever I want"

"You are a 9 foot tall tactical mastermind who is as intelligent as he is deadly and is the son of the most powerful man in the galaxy and the adopted son of the most powerful man on your planet. I would say you could marry whomever you well pleased."

"Point to you brother, but how do you think my planet would react to mine not having a political marriage?"

"I imagine that they could care less who their leaders are married to so long as they are not starving and entertained."

"Let me preface that by how would my enemies react by marrying a woman, while beautiful, kind and clever, not from my own land or even planet?"

"I imagine they would use it as some sort of pretext to claim that their dear leader is under the thrall of a foreign witch whomst is influencing the planets policies in a way that allows them to invade."

"Precisely!"

"And?"

"And what?"

"And so what? If they do something as so stupid to try to intervene with you before our proper father arrives I assume with what Kolinaisi has given you and your fine troops you could send them back to their mudhuts crawling and screaming and if you so desired conquered and unified the whole planet under your banner before conquering the rest of the planets in your system." Perturabo says poignantly.

"So you are saying if there is a war because of my romantic interest just to let it come?"
>>
"Actually I would build a low orbiting satellite that would just send either an energy beam or nuclear weapon upon the target area and threaten to use it if they decided to invade for such a stupid reason."

"That sounds mildly tyrannical."

"Oh completely. But if your population has elements that are so idiotic that they would attack you for such a foolish reason I suggest a tyrannical response is justified."

"You can't just-" Deliah and Gella have managed to get Kolinaisi, who is flanked by Meera and Yana who bring him over and he sits down.

"I heard y'all need to speak with me." He says in a curious tone

Its my 4th anniversary. Oddly upon the year anniversary of this quest.

This quest has been good.

So there will be another POV this chapter and two bonus mystery boxes. I know its not as large as it once was, but you are a great audience.

Thank you.
>>
>>5216949
It has already been an year? Time does fly.
Also it's very impressive for a 4 year old to write a quest this good.
>>
The dinner, which has been prepared is better than what Rongo normally does for a special occasion, and that is saying something. Lau Lau is a rare treat, especially since the islanders don't normally have the room for normal beef, and thankfully have not discovered the galactic staple of the grox yet. The smaller population of De'lormosa and all the wildlife meant good eatin.

"So Old Man have ya been in any battles?" Max asks and everyone gives an odd look. The old man was mostly a mystery outside of the captain and his close crew. Even though you have been privvy to conversations, the Old Man never really speaks of that stuff.

"Back in the day there were wars. I took part in some, but mostly never had to actually fight. The few fights I got into were as a youth and one bar room brawl involving people I'd rather not talk about." The old man says with a smile.

"Ha! The genius who also got into a pub fight! You'd fit right in where I'd come from." Cris says and the old man gives the look you have seen him give Kolinaisi before explains somethin is a bad idea, then he shrugs.

"I suppose. I fit in just about anywhere. I'm too old. I prefer friends to enemies at this age." He says sighing.

"What about you two? How about your battles?" The Old man asks Cris and Max, who go over their first Illyrian Campaign into great detail, and how excited they were to be part of Roboute's first outing. And it tells much about how the legion goes about it's business. The way they fight, is familiar to how you have heard before in more elite standardized militaries. A far cry from the chain breaker lightning raids. Cris then looks at Tybro.

And now you are worried.

Tybro is a man of few words, whom if you had to bet on anyone beating in a fight save maybe the captain or his brothers, there is no way to beat. He is only a little shorter than Kolinaisi and taller than Kai. He is a mountain of Muscle and his tattoos, while not of the big man, are some of the most ornate and beautiful of anyone's on the islands. From what you know- that means that he is also worthy of it from the Tattooist. He could have been a big man, but Tybro-
>>
>>5218574

Tybro choice to be a force of nature in combat. The whole chain breaker island style, is taught by him. And you actually have seen his worse battle, and you don't want to hear it over dinner.

"Eh. I get a good fight in occasionally. Kinda wanted to fight dem black judges. But we fightan rangda. So we good." Tybro says in his light and quiet voice.

"Lua Lua is good Old Man! Thank you!" Tybro says basically scarffing down what would be enough to feed everyone else here. And when he got on board he would probably work out for four hours and take a nap.

"Yes this is delicious. Tybro and Rongo have had me try everything, and this is something I wish Rongo could cook more. On Nuceria there are good foods too, and hopefully I will be able to teach them to Rongo. Though with our last battle, I think Rongo is just going to tell me to shut up." Charon says chuckling and it looks like a joke that only Tybro gets.

"Not anyones best battle. Your shining moments were in Nuceria and that last raid." Tybro says

"No. Our shining moments are yet to come. This is warm up." Charon says.

"Yeah, how do we deal with Nuceria?" You ask and charon smiles and pulls up a planetary map.

"I figure we can contact Angron with the rudemintary radio when we get in orbit, and provide some air support via our Navigators, then we go down and provide close support." Charon says.

"IF we know what is going on over there." Tybro raises an excellent point so you try to plan for contingency as you eat.

___
"FIRE!" You shout as the flamers and plasma rains over the walls. While the city has been purged of infiltrators early on thanks to your direct appeal to Cinncinatus, and the poor old man just wants to farm, you wish he could provide more close support to your portion.

It's day 5 of the siege.

They can't get in air support because of the archeotech shields.

Most of the war machines are not ready yet, and the drivers haven't been trained yet.

Your elites are now training gladiators and peasants on new combat doctrine, and you are not even sure if you are making stuff up to counter these monsters. There is no time to test.

"GENERAL ANGRON!" You hear Cinncinatus himself, Finally, arrive to your sector and you can't help it.

You laugh a little.

He does too.

"Sir?" You say with a smile

"I heard your sector needs a slight bit of reinforcing?" He says and one of the most beautiful things you have ever seen appears.

The Artilaria Maxima.

The ground shaker gun.

And there were 5 of them.

"We were able to make one a day, your section gets the first. How well holds the wall?" Cinncinatus asks

"We haven't had to make out raids- yet. When that time comes I am taking a quarter of my men and the rest gladiators. I cannot spare to many of my own." You say

"The Invictus worried about losing? These are troubled times indeed." Cinncinatus says trying to give some levity
-
>>
>>5218576

"Part of being undefeated is knowing how to pick your battles. I would not even pick this for my worst enemy. Occasionally we get lucky, pop a controller and a tide turns slightly causing confusion. Then the scary ones start shaking and doing what I can only infer is some sort of mind control and causes them to get back in line. Occasionally the send in- these things-" And you have to word this right. You know how people react to certain things. Some knowledge can hurt people. This is one of those instances.

"They send these things, and men jump off the wall gleefully either to their death or towards their arms. You have to get them at range. Before you can hear them. They don't have many, we are thankful for that. But What we need to do is find the high controller." And you were starting to notice a pattern, but had no supporting evidence yet. If only as easy as the arena, just a simple fight with an opponent. No this was madness. And they weaponized it.

"I can't do what you do. I wish I could." Cinncinatus puts a hand on you and nods and you nod back as you have to quickly shoot one of the many 'mystery balls' that need to be destroyed before they touch the ground and do all sorts of absurd reality defying nonsense.

"Have you actually seen any of the Rangda?" Cinncinatus asks and you honestly wish you hadn't. They look unreal. They make the Rak'Gol look sensical. They are sharp and chittering, yet at the same time flowing like quicksilver. Describing them was a mental exercise in of itself.

"Yes. Just don't think on them too hard when you do as well.." You say and he nods.

" Thank you for the battle report. There has been some strange activity on the sensor at the machine hall, I know you are not your brother"

"But I am the only one who actually took the time to figure out how to work the blasted thing before all this." You respond and he shrugs

Before you or perturabo open your mouth, you put up a hand and Perturabo nods. And the honor guard sit down close to him

" Cap. Yer actin off." Meera says bluntly

"Oh?" He says lookin confused.
>>
>>5218578

"We know this part of the trip has been, chaotic, to say the least, but your work focus has trended towards something, and it honestly has us a bit worried." Gella says and your brother raises an eyebrow, puts his hands politely on the table as some food is brought over, and pauses.

"Ok. Go on." He says and Perturabo looks like he is about to speak but Deliah speaks first

"Cap, you are overworking on perfection of certain projects when you have to do them." Deliah says and Kolinaisi is clearly listening, and takes a drink and swallows back a bit more liquid than normal.

"The ship needs to be at peak performance for Olympia. But continue."

"Things do not need to be perfect. While we should always strive for self improvement. Perfectionism, after all you have been through is something that, as the resident exorcist, is alarming." Deliah says.

"W-"

-

"Wait" You let out and you feel it again. Not just the headache, but whatever it is, is watching intensely. Something is setting off your instinct and it is particularly targeting you.

"What?" Deliah asks, and she looks very concerned. What you say next may scare them. But ya have to be honest on this.

"Somethin has been watchin me for a while. It's gettin annoyin. It's simple pain, it's sometimes my headache but worse. Sometime it feels like someone is scrutinizing and watching everything I do. And I check my med readouts. I check em with Pygmallius. I don't have any mental defects. But- after lookin at some mental defects, I realized that could be an actual mental defect so I basically escalated to where I have an independent monitor of me, while Pyg is in there with me to make sure everything is real. I aint crazy, and when I say this I mean it. Something is lookin over my shoulder and if it aint perfect it feels like the thing is still watchin. Once it's perfect it goes. It's rare, but it happens, so now I just naturally do it, but somethin always is settin me off." And you sigh. Cause it's also part of your sleep loss.

And Deliah pauses and sighs.

"Perturabo, you aint gonna like this next bit." She says and Perturabo looks confused.

"I think one of those chaos gods is watchin ya. And I know which one, so I will not actively name them. Because while you got them tattoos, I don't think you can actually be directly influenced by anything. But you can be indirectly influenced, and your senses are picking up on that. I heard about your bridge collapse event. I think you are extremely attuned to the materium and nature such as electricity so much that when something like that is watching you it sets off all your instincts because they know it's wrong." She says

"Ok, say I believe you- how do I fix it?" You ask and Perturabo stops everything

I want to see a train on the battlefield.

Internet problems guys. Half tonight, half tomorrow.

You would normally radio this in, but if it is what you think it is- then you are the only one who can actually fix the thing at this time. "Yeah I'll be right over." You call out.

After a short jog- which you have not neglected after Kolinaisi got lucky, you get over to the other side of the city which is also undergoing bombardment. You run into what has basically become a blacksmith/technologist shop called the "Machine Hall" that is run by old servants who would fix the things of the high riders.

And boy are you glad you came in.

"ANGRON!" The lead technician calls out as -

Of course

The lead technician enters the room.

Great an infiltrator has broken in.

The lead technician, that just enters sees you and sees the other lead technician and draws their sword from their leftside. The Lead Technician was a left handed gladiator before he was taken in by one of the high riders to fix their broken toys. He charges in at the other technician- who draws the sword from their left side.

Great, so they can copy mannerisms.

The two fight as gladiators would in such a scenario, but the problem is- you need to find out.

You scan the two of them.

And to your utter surprise- they are both imposters. This is confirmed as the lead technician proper, enters to the side next to you and you quickly scan him. Revealing him as the true technician.

You debate letting the two fight and interrogating the survivor, then realize that they usually kill themselves dramatically. So you take the Axe Kolinaisi gave you and shoot them both.

"Darius, what is going on?" You ask and peeks over at the disintigrating bodies, then at you.

"I found out what the weird barrel munitions have in them apparently." He says pointing to two cracked open barrels.

"While this is terrible news that I needed to know I mean what's triggering the sensor." You say pointing to the Early Warning ringing out.

"That either means something is digging underneath the city." He says in the most nonchalant tone you have heard all day and it's infuriating.

"And you neglected to tell this to us?" You bark out at his incompetency. He then sighs

"We are guarded by the sphere, they shouldn't be able to tunnel in. So-" He says and then you sigh realizing what's going on.

"Someone's trying to dig their way out and you didn't want to alert those doing so so we could identify them" And he goes back to eating the small sandwich he has.

"No, that's a good idea. My reason was because I thought it was animals until we got footage ten minutes ago." He says pointing to the small group of people that are almost fanatically digging at a strange area.

" How far have they gotten?" You ask

"They are digging fast, but are not good at it. I'd say they have barely gotten 2 feet." he says.

"How many feet untill we are compromised?"

"Ten would weaken us, twenty is a door." He says.

You realize that the "Kin" whom have been begging for a chance to prove themselves (probably to return home) since having been freed from the yoke of the slavers.

So you use the comm band and you prepare your ears as Darius winces.

The feedback is loud

"Dorick Barrickson, I have need of your men."

"AYYYEE LADDY I BE READIN YU LOUD N CLAR!" Dorrick says in a way that makes the Gothic of your brother seem like the High Gothic of the High Riders in a tone so loud and grating it's like he is yelling in your ears.

"There is a tunnel that needs securing from some infiltrators."

"AYE DATS HUT WE DO BEST! VHEN CAN WHE BE EXPECTAN TO START TIS LITTLE PRO-JEKT?" He says and Darius is blushing trying to hold back laughter. If he wasn't one of the most respectable gladiators you knew, normally this would be cause for you to death glare.

"Get to the machine hall as fast as possible." You say.

"WELL WHY DIDN'T YA BLEEDIN SAY SO YOU FRILLY BIGGUN? YA COULDVA JUST TAHLD ME" And the feedback stops as the small, yet very robust looking man and his smallish group walk in.

"Sorry Dorick I didn't see you"

"IS IT BECAHSE I AM SHORT?!" He shouts and gives you all the gleam of a mad man who could care less that you could throw a man thrice his size across the road.

You then look at the door you came in at, opposite him, and then back to him. His stern demanor turns into a smile

"IM JUS TAKIN TH PISS, I SAW YA CAME IN YONDER YA BIG OOF" he says walking past you to the screen

"I CANNAE RECKN WHY YA USE SUCH OL TECH, MAY IN FUTURE YA BE LOOKIN FER AN OOPGRADE?" he says once again offering to change the out the electrical equipment, so long as he is allowed to return to "League Territory" where ever that is.

"Maybe. Let's see how you handle some of these infiltrators first." You say and he smiles fiercely.

"ALRIT LADS YA HEARD EM LETS MOOOVE!" he says and there is much scurrying past you, and their muscle tone as they muscle past you, you can detect their strength is as great, if not somewhat greater, than many men you have met. You are glad you didn't actually have to fight Dorick in the arena- as briefly interesting a fight that would be.

"Well glad they are taking care of that. Do you want me to continue the distress signal so that way your brother will be able to detect it. It may be drawing a bit of power, but we should be able to manage a few more days before we broadcast more infrequently."

"I can't believe the old man freaking painted the ship for us before we left while we were eating." Tybro says

"It is- fitting." Charon says and you look over to the two of them, then get back to steering in addition to the paint job, you are also certain, but not sure how, the engines had been slightly tuned.

And the radio band was better.

It had been a short trip, the ship was significantly faster than the Something Fierce. Granted, Warp Travel was warp travel, but this ship was built for speed, both in and out of warp.

"There's the weird signal again. Want me to try to tune to it this time?" The Astropath asks and you nod, as they haven't really had to use their abilities for a while, so they had been mostly napping and acting as a comms officer- WHILE THE ACTUAL COMMS OFFICER- Tybro would spend his time working out and training. As you tune the signal comes in a short burst-

but the message is clear.

"This is Angron of Nuceria. We are being invaded by Xenos Shapeshifters. We have no idea where they arrived from we are stuck in our cities please send help."

"How do we want to go about this?" You ask.

_

>> Try to sneak in through the poles at night coming in sneakily slipping out of warp when close enough

>> Go on the offense, do a few strikes and ground attacks before getting into the city

>> Do an attack run depart airborne, and have the navigators actually fly without the warp and do as much attacks while you assist the defenders

>> Scout, try to find key targets and act with Angron to take down the worst of them

>> Write in

"Deliah, it's time they had the talk." You say and Deliah rolls her eyes

"Right." She says

"So what do you know about warp travel, the realm of souls, the warp and humans?" Deliah asks and roboute shrugs

"Just what I have witnessed and been told by you." Roboute says.
>>
>>5221703

"I am going to give the both of you the basics. Sometimes the less you know the better. So humans are creatures that are psychically atuned to reality. Not so much as the Aeldari, but there is psychic potential. It's faint, but there. As a result, our emotions have consequences." She says turning her back and lifting her shirt and there are multiple huge scars that look like claw marks. Perturabo seems perturbed. Roboute looks intrigued.

"Your emotions caused that?" Perturabo asks, and it is a legitimate question despite the awkward wording.

" Yes. I will come back to it. Your emotions go somewhere, and in the warp, over time- they become something. Your thoughts, your emotions, they gather together and the turn into things. Sometimes these are mere warp spawned creatures caused by various awkward thoughts colliding, you will see them outside the ship if you look out a window during a warp transit on occasion. The Gellar Field protects us from them, which is good because if not, we would have bigger problems. Sometimes these creatures bind together by concepts. Rage. Anger. Confusion. Arrogance. Complacency. Hatred. They turn into more sentient beings. These beings are capable of thought and action, and can do horrible things and deal terrible damage. These creatures can in turn gain power. However, these emotions and ideas have been around for aeons, but not since the beginning. Something caused the realm of souls to become as it is." Deliah says pausing and sipping from her cup as Perturabo gets closer to her, and you have to wonder, how is it that perturabo is able to feel attraction towards someone.

Is something wrong with you? Your equipment? Are you just not fully developed yet? Roboute seems to be attracted to Gella or at least Gella attracted to him, and Perturabo seems to be at least somewhat that way towards Deliah.

"Cap?" and you look up.

"The rest?" She asks and you nod.

"Long ago many of these emotions became one larger being representing aspects of emotions and life. We do not say their name to give them power, and our order tries very hard not to give in too much to emotions. However some things can complicate that. The oldest of these beings is the one of conflict, rage, blood, honor, war and his warriors take the skulls of their victims. Thus when you hear 'blood for the blood god or skulls for the skull throne' they are actively offering up praise to that being, and empowering it with every skull taken and every drop of blood spilled." Deliah explains pointing to one of the scars on her back.

"Then there is the second oldest. The changer of ways, the sower of deceit and lies, and king of unbridled ambition. Their warriors, are gibbering monsters that wield warp magic like a plaything. Whenever someone lied, it would empower them. However- we come to the complication." Deliah says.
>>
>>5221704

"Each of these supreme parasites who feast on the emotions and deeds of men have champions, powerful daemons. But they would also have symbolic spirit entities. Well at least three. The first, of the red and bloody one- has the symbolic spirit entity that was the first human to murder. This being is impossible for a human to kill normally due to it being a spirit and it being the first to murder. Thus a human would have to accidentally kill it or cause it to die unintenionally. Or know its true name and to forgive it in the forgotten tongue. Good luck wit that." Deliah says with a scoff then sighs.

"The Second oldest, had the the first to lie. This being knew much knowledge, but cursed those touched by it to not only know everything, but answer every conversation in either sarcasm or outright lies and falsehoods. Untill it was banished to a torpedo that went into a star, which probably has caused it to be banished for quite some time and it may prevent the second from being empowered by lies while it reforms." Deliah hypothesizes.

"The third oldest, the one of plagues, pestilence, complacency, rot, despair and the cycle of life or death and rebirth. The beings it sends to fight are plague creatures that spread rampant disease and destruction. It's followers will usually not die of such diseases that they spread, which are equally horrifying." Deliah says and then she looks at you.

"The youngest, she who thirsts, they of fourty thousand torments, the prince of pleasure, was watching Kolinaisi. Their domain is Pain, Perfection, Excess, Decadence and Pleasure. I don't really know much about them, as our tribe hasn't really encountered them. Our life doesn't really lead to any of these except pain." Deliah says.

"So you are saying this warp parasite entity, was watching Kolinaisi?" Roboute asks

"They probably had the ability to through the headaches Kolinaisi has, and his trying to get everything on the ship orderly and how it should be probably was the easiest way to sus out perfection as their other attack vector." Deliah says

"How do you know so much about this? This knowledge seems very in depth and obscure." Perturabo asks.
>>
>>5221707

"Our island has, an unusual population of female psykers however, due to disciplines and martial traditions we are trained to resist these darker aspects. However, it is the duty of the Exorcist or the Crone Mother, whichever is available, to deal with any daemonic taint. The Exorcist requires certain talents, and undergoing certain rituals and rites to prevent possession by a daemonic spirit." She says pointing once more to the scarring.

"How is that?" Perturabo asks

"We are willingly possessed and forced to auto exorcise. If we fail we are killed. We are taught thousands of years of wisdom in but a single night through a special ritual. However, the exorcist always dies after they pass on their knowledge. Furthermore, their children if they have any will be a blank. My own child was taken from me, before they could be raised by the blanks on the island. An exorcist, when they become unable to fight must immediately train their replacement." Deliah says, and now you understand her recent moodiness more than ever.

"But you were possessed by that book?" You ask and she shakes her head.

"That was a human spirit. Not a daemonic one. An elder human spirit. That's the only way that happened." Deliah points out.

"So you know how to deal with these parasitic beings?" Perturabo asks

"I do. Though Kolinaisi has a patented method of sending a being straight back to the warp that hasn't failed yet." Deliah with her eyebrows a bit raised and Meera snorts.

"I haven't heard this story." Perturabo says

"Neither have I." Roboute also says

So we need to find out how to say Cain in Enuncia and forgive him? Time to find out how it is said in Aramaic.
>>
>>5221925
Well, it seems to get in Aramaic or Coptic I would need to find the bible on those languages and a translated version to compared. I knew there would be no translator, but I thought that atleast the name would be online.
Atleat I found it in hebrew (קַיִן) and armenian (կայեն)

"Angron, this is Frank, come in." Frank says as you look on at the planet of Nuceria, the odd lookin mud ball. Your not sure why anyone would want to conquer it. It's not that beautiful. And the resources can't be that precious.

"Frank?" The voice of Angron himself comes in loud and clear.

"Yes! Are you near the broadcast point?" Frank responds

"I was just coming over to check on it. Are you here with my brother?" Angron asks with a different tone of voice than before, he's excited, but he about to be disappointed

"He sent us ahead of him. Your brother, found more brothers, and is saving one of their homes, then the three of them are going to come to help.. I know that is a mouthful." Frank says, doing what he does and talkin to much.

"Well, we will take any help we can get. If we could break the siege by maybe taking out some of their controllers. We would have to -'

"You have to find the Master Slought." Frank finishes for Angron as you look on, Charon looks concerned and looks to you. That aint good.

"Good luck with that! We have been sniping off ones that look important and sending in storm raids every now and again, but we haven't found what that is." Angron is a fighter, why he snipin? It's that bad down there?

"You haven't really seen the true Rangda yet have you? Just the Slough and their enslaved?" Frank showing how much he knows about this problem, and it makes you wonder why Frank knows so much about all these xenos.

"What does a True Rangda look like." Angron asks, and you honestly wonder what one looks like

"You'd know. They don't look like -" And before Frank can finish

" I have seen a total of five." Angron answers. Good for him.

"This is probably a scouting party. Great. So we arrived in time." Frank says, and that worries you.

"THIS ARMY IS JUST A SCOUTING PARTY?" A distressed voice shouts over Angron

"Sorry, that was Darius. But his concern is echoed by me." Which track

"Correct. An actual Rangda force, well, I really hope the archeotech is as good I think as I think it is." Frank says sweatin visibly.

"Well- how could we delay the main group?" Angron asks and frank winces and looks over at a device.

"We could scout around, destroy any broadcast beacons, and any slough that we see. Hopefully it distracts them before they call on their ships. But there in lies the problem." Frank says

"Wait, their ships are not here?" Angron responds

"They are nearby, not here though. They are at a nearby planet. I suspect they are either attacking a nearby world that has Orks on it, or something worse." He says.

"Define worse? Why would you prefer orks?" Having fought against Orks, you wonder that too.
>>
>>5223196
"Ork and Rangda fights, from the few I have seen, tend to be the Orks losing slowly. Not the orks winning and coming strong ready to do a waagh far more powerful, or the the Rangda winning out right. At least this weakens the Rangda." The Rangda must be bad.

"So, this buys us some time?" Angron responds

"At least until the Rangda defeat the orks. But we will either need to have someone go down and transmit a jamming signal which weighs a ton while we do this, which will not be fun at all, or we pick off individuals until we find the right one and who knows how long that will last when they figure out we got a solid bird." Frank says

"I'd go for the former but that would take adamantine balls and I am stuck here leading raids out and holding the line defenses. I tell you Frank, not gonna lie, I wish Kolinaisi was here with you" You aint the only one Angron. Frank's good, but Cap would be surfin by nightfall.

"I can't blame ya. He's gotta fleet now and would be better for this, but you are stuck with us." At least Frank is honest about himself.

"Well Frank, I can't force you to do somethin crazy like -" You have to do it.
Frank can't. He isn't strong enough. Max and Cris haven't done this sort of thing. Since you were little your father told you, that you had to be strong for the islands. The Tyo. The largest men in all the islands. You didn't tell Koli you let them capture you to save your half of the island.

Your family can trace their origin back to the days of The Great Man's companion Tyco, who told Tycho that he and his descendants would always be big and strong enough to defend their friends and family. This was only when Tycho was worried about seeing how small and weak his infant was. His son Tyhan would become the father of Good Man Tykon, Rider of the Turtle, and father of your namesake. Great Man Tybro, the last great man the islands had seen. You are taller and stronger than him, per the rock of ages, in which everyone of your family has chalked the height of the great stone next to the lifting rocks. Calico shores are barely part of the bitter shoals so much you can barely see the black from it. Kolinaisi, when you came back was a shock, only because finally there was someone as big as you. And from the line of Rakapuha- on Ravi's side no less. Though he was adopted. But still.

You are strong for others. And yourself.

>> Volunteer to do the Jamming. Let Frank take care of business, you were born for this.

>> Offer up a different solution, maybe you could lower the jammer to a place they can't get to and figure it out

Sorry guys for the short post weekend was celebrated with waifu. Bigger post tomorrow with much more going on. Soon we get to Olympia and things get really interesting.

'"I can do it, if you any of you can't think of sonmethin clever like hiding it or putting it in a tall place. Normally I wouldn't mind, but if these Rhagdan take over my body and use it to hurts the innocent instead of protecting, I would shame my entire family."

Tybro says.

And he is the only one that can.

"We will give you whatever we can give." You offer, knowing that he is going to need the best weapons you got and he nods.

"You'll get warning if they are trying to take you. Namely the technovites. If you see weird folks with odd helmets and big guns. Destroy them. If you see weird tick looking creatures moving towards you, kill them with prejudice." You say then you think on it

"Actually just kill everything. If they are coming towards you assume they want to kill you or worse." You say and Tybro nods.

"Tybro is our best chainbreaker. Kolinaisi wouldn't appreciate him not coming back." Charon says.

"If you got any other badass hidden up your sleeve Charon that can hold a point for us until their prime controller shows up now'd be the time to pull it out." You tell Charon and he sighs and raises up his hands. He and Tybro are close.

"I'd tell you to go with him, but I need you for the initial stage of this." You say pointing the large swarm around the city from the read out that is getting to you.

"We have to deal with that, while Tybro does his thing." You say.

"And that is making you look less scary." Max says, and he isn't wrong, not in the least.

"Anything I need beside that big ol thing an a ton of weapons?" He asks

"So, you channeled the spirit of the various machines, and their 'mana' through your adriathic axe." Perturabo asks

"Yuh."

"This is after attacking it multiple times." Perturabo asks as Roboute looks on skeptically.

"Correct."

"These beast was maybe larger than that knight out there." Perturabo asks and you nod.

"And you were able to stand the energies that were flowing through your body enough that it disintegrated the creature."

"Which normally doesn't work they are pretty hard to destroy with weapons fire, but apparently overclocked adriathic energy works." Deliah adds which makes Perturabo look at her then look at you.

His skepticism is palpable in the mana.

"We have footage. Erihapti has a camera and Kolinaisi keeps immaculate records." And you forgot about the camera on Erihapti during that.

"Wait. So, we are gifted but yours seems to be that lightning doesn't harm you and you have a machine bond, but why do your hands and arms bare the mark of lightning striki-" Perturabo looks at the tattoos, then at you.

"Oh. I see. I may want to see that footage." Perturabo says and you nod.

"It seems farfetched, but if you can prove it, I would like to see it." Roboute says.

"There was a lot of fighting that night, Angron needed help, and when we are done with Olypmia, we shall head there as fast as possible." You say and Perturabo looks carefully

"Will be sure to return to Olympia afterwards?" He asks

"Are you not coming with us brother?" Roboute asks.

"I feel I wish to. I am not sure if they will need me in Olympia and what state it has become. What you tell me about De'lormosa interests me, and Macragge sounds very similar to my home." Perturabo says.

"You are always welcome at De'lormosa." You say and this causes Perturabo to look actually touched, and Deliah smiles at this as well.

"And Macragge." Roboute puts down his hand and you decide to put yours down on top of Roboutes. And Perturabo looks down and puts his hand down.

"And you two are always welcome on Olympia." Perturabo says.

"Thank you." You say and Roboute nods.

"I think we need to commemorate this somehow." You point out aloud

"I agree." Roboute says.

You look at Tybro's board. Then you realize where it is at is too far inland for a quick jog to the beach, still- he could be done before and walk to the beach casually.

Yet it may appear as arrogance or overconfidence.

So you look at it, then grab the mud from the island that somehow effects psykers, and makes both your navigator and astropath cringe as you toss it to him. You then grab the little case with the drone and put it in your little go bag.

"It's a good bag. Take care of it." You say and he nods.

"I'd give ya your board but I don't wanna be boastful. Ya best come back so I can thank ya proper and we can surf bru" You say and he looks at you and snorts.

As if he hasn't heard that one before. Still he smiles and nods.

"I will. We just air droppin me or we landing?" He asks

"We're landing, I ain't ready to learn an airdrop yet." Charon says joking and Tybro looks a little disappointed. The work takes about five minutes after all is said and done. Tybro nods, and takes his position.

You hop back in the void craft and get into pilot position.

I think I made suggestions for names in a past thread, If I remember it right it was the Brother's Alliance, Primarch Pact, Tetrarchy, or (place) accord.
What is this asteroid name? Or atleast the subsector we are in right now? If there is none, we can just call it the Ultima Accord for the segmentum.

You decide, that you should put on some of the mud and maybe scout around using the drone.

The mud always feels like home. There is less noise around the honor guard when it's on.

It's calming.

You wish you were home. But that's not what's going on. You signed on for this.

The mud and the local dirt create a little bit of camoflauge, and you decide to rub it on your armor, not too much
so as to save the mud.

Scouting around with the drone, isn't - that- hard, it's just that the drone, and other tiny things, are harder to pilot.

The immediate area around you is quiet. But before you even turn on the Jammer you can see some of the scouts that the enemy uses.

They do not see you.

The other Chain Breakers would whoop and holla. Scream into battle. You do with the chain breakers, as it's their tradition.

Your families, however is not the way of the shoal stoat like the chain breakers.

Yours is the way of the shark.

You walk one with the environment around you. Stalking quietly not making errors in steps.

The fear that these monsters bring is real, but you do not let it consume you. It passes by you. Around you.

But not through you.

Their very presence warps the actual mana of the world around you. You hate it.

This world, is different.

It's stone, and rock. Some scrub grass. Bushes.

It's not ocean. In the shoals you have to be a hell of a swimmer to even sneak with a decent chance.

This is land.

Sound is different, but it is easier. Smell, isn't carried by you. Your smell is masked by the blacks beloved mud. You haven't even broke a decent sweat yet.

Your stalk is slow. Behind and off to the side a little. They can't get a direct bead on you, and they don't even know you are nearby.

You get closer.

You hold steady your fists. You never ready weapons until you are about to strike.

But you must get close.

These monsters will learn something new today.

Kolinaisi is always talking about teaching and learning. You should strive to teach the young ones somethin new. And you should be tryin to learn somethin new.

The Rangda, or these slaves, do not know you are behind them. They are focused on their front.

They are so focused on their own tracking, they have neglected that they could be tracked.

The hunter has become the prey.

You use your strength and the claws on the gauntlet and you strike at one, killing it instantly. As it falls to the ground lifelessly the other being realizes what happens and begins its attack.

It doesn't fight like a normal enemy.

The Drukhari can barely be seen but they make errors and they are as strong. However, they play with their food too much and the get bored easily.

The Ganth fight like fanatics, but will betray their own kind for a dried fish snack
>>
>>5230337

It moves fast as a whip and is strong. But more shockingly, it fights without restraint or care for it's own life. You slice it, and it sacrifices a part of itself to get a closer and more deadly attack.

Or would have had it actually knew how to attack you properly.

It is probably panicked.

You have not made ANY noise during combat.

The fly over is intense. You decide to assist Angron by scouting around the city and looking for anything that may be out of the ordinary, letting Charon point anything out as he is used to the terrain more than anyone

"Do you see anything?" Angron asks

"Yeah. We see a whole horde." You say. And Charon rolls his eyes as he looks around carefully.

"Well there was whole other one. It would have been nice to have you hear earlier to discover the infiltrators." Angron says.

"THERE!" Charon shouts pointing near a small area you would have missed, near the base of the mountain.

And you see it.

The Alpha Rangdan

The Controller. The one's even the Slough bow to. If there is one here, that is very very bad. It doesn't seem to care about your ship. And then you see why.

Anti Air vehicles.

SHIT.

You barrel out of the way of incoming fire causing everyone on board to collectively lose their lunch. The roll is fast, and you dodge. You aint Gella that's for sure, but the ship makes up for your shortcomings.

"What is it?" Angron asks as forward fire intensifies near the city as you recover from the manuver,

"An Alpha Rangdan." You let out and everyone around you seems a bit worried. They should be more worried.

"What does that mean?" Angron asks

"The Alpha Rangdan would cause you to have to square off. I am not sure if you could win straight up in a fair fight. They have absurd powers, absurd strength, and they have psyker abilities that would give even Deliah pause. They gain the strength and knowledge of every foe they kill by their hands. They can take the form of anything they kill and consume. They don't have the same mental and emotional structure that you or I do. They don't understand certain concepts, they think them foreign. If one is approaching the city, they mean to raze it to the ground. So I guess you don't have to worry about them enslaving anyone." You say and Angron gives off a grim chuff of a laugh.

"They weren't takin us alive anyways. What can we do about it?"

"If you can use your artillery and maybe a raid, on the anti aircraft- we can do air strikes on it so you won't have to find out what those things can actually do."

"If we did a raid, would you be able to provide more air support for us?"

"I guess, we got a few dozen weapons and good speed. If you think the city can hold I can do a few sonic booms over the targets to really screw with em, so long as they don't have laser designators or a beamer. " You say sweating knowing flying isn't really your forte.

"What happens when the Alpha dies?" Angron asks

"Well we hope that Tybro has the jammer. If he does, the scream will be bad, but it won't signal any reinforcements." You say to angron.

_

This battle was important for Angrons development. What did he choose

>> "My men and I will raid, I will lead it personally. We get that Anti Air down, you take down that Alpha with your weapons. "

>> " We will strike the Anti Aircraft guns with Artillery barrage. That'll soften em up. I will lead a small host, and we can kill the Alpha together."

>> "Do a few sonic Boom passes, we will come out hot and heavy, eliminate the Anti Air, and use overwhelming barrages to help kill the Alpha."

>> "Do as many stand off strikes as you can. Get em good and weak. We will follow up with artillery barrages. We will keep doing this until the alpha and every other Rangda there is dead."

I wanted to suggest doing a creeping barrage against their main force, while a flanking raid disables the anti-air. Then we order everyone to fall back while the air support and artillery nukes the Alpha to oblivion, but that feels like something Pert would do.
So instead let's go with
>> "My men and I will raid, I will lead it personally. We get that Anti Air down, you take down that Alpha with your weapons. "
>>
>>5230788
Actually, fuck it.
>We start a head on attack to distract them. The artillery will always strike just ahead of the infantry to soften the target. Meanwhile me and a few elites forces will flank them with the fastest vehicles we have to disable the anti-air. As soon as they go down, everyone retreats with the artillery covering them, while you use all of your weapons on the Alpha.

Thank you friend.

"Aya Rongo- get us the fancy papers!" You shout and Rongo looks confused.

"Like the Accords Parchment? The really fancy stuff that you need a good pen for?"

"Ya."

"I'll get it for ya cap."

"Now what shall we call this accord?" You say waggling your eyebrows when your father tried to illicit a response from you and Arona when he was caring for the two of you.

"I am a fan of the Brothers Pact." Perturabo says

"A Primarch Accord?"

"We'll work somethin out lads." You chuckle.

"I think the Accord of the brother systems would be too long. But we'll draw out the name later." Roboute says as Rongo comes up with the paper that you are able to quickly draw up a document upon. Largely because you hand wrote every single accord contract of everyone on the ship. You can see, for whatever reason, Roboute is somewhat impressed by this act.

"That would be the best way to do this. So we shall always be welcome on each others planets?" Perturabo asks as you begin to write down your end.

"As long as I draw breath, you two are welcome on De'lormosa." You say and draw four lines next to each accord, and you pause. You draw a few more lines. In case of Magnus meeting you finally in person, or you meeting more of these brothers. Perhaps this Alpha - is an actual brother of yours? It would make sense. He hasn't communicated in what feels like ages.. You quickly sign your name on the line in high gothic, which does a true injustice to De'lormosa's language, but it's what everyone writes with. Maybe you should teach others the way of your written language.

"And as I live, you two are welcome on Macragge and our sister planets." Roboute says signing to much cheers among even your men.

"I need to get some of those." You say and there are chuckles from the gathered crew.

"As soon as we liberate Olympia, I insure that you two will be welcome." Perturabo says and there is a great cheer among the refugees and some of your men, Perturabo has become quite the notable figure.

"And this fourth space?" Perturabo says and you look over to him. And you begin to sing the story of the first brother you met.

Rain gets through the shield. The weather is dreary. Normally this was good. The dry seasons a pain for everyone. But it is good for a fight. It's good for combat. Dry ground.

Mud makes combat horrible.

It doesn't bother you.

But it bothers everyone else.

'The plan' as you recall, so long as this 'Fearless Frank' as people have been calling him keeps his end, is you and a few madcap infantry are going to do an insane charge. You are going to swap out on to the fast attack vehicles and go after the anti air, meanwhile upon the swap- the Artillery is going to bombard the hell out of the Rangda, then you are going to pick up one of these anti air vehicles and smash it on the Rangda Alpha's head for all the pain and suffering it has caused.

That is if Frank can't finish the job.

And from what you have seen, Frank is a man that finishes the job. You turn and face the shock troops. Your elites are going to come to your side. But these men. They will die. The least you can do is ride out with them.

But you don't do your least. You never had. You turn and face the men.

"MEN! FREE MEN! FORMER SLAVES AND GLADIATORS! FORMER GUARDS AND WARRIORS! HEAR ME!" You call out

"I AM ANGRON! HEAR ME!" You shout out

"OUT THERE IS THE END OF ALL THINGS. THE WORST OF ALL MONSTERS. THE RANGDA ARE AT OUR GATES. THEY DO NOT CARE. THEY DO NOT CARE THAT YOU WERE SLAVES. THEY DON'T CARE YOUR STATUS. TO THEM YOU ARE CHAFFE. BUT THEY ARE NOT INVINCIBILE." You shout and you hear cheers.

"WE KNOW THEIR WEAKNESSES. WE HAVE A PLAN. OUR ARTILLERY WILL BLAST THEM TO ETERNITY. " You shout

"I am not going to tell you that you will live forever. I am not going to tell you that you will not die. This attack will be brutal and painful. The artillery has to be precise." You say looking over to the artillery commanders who nod back to you.

"If it is executed right, we will be able to halt this charge! We will hold the line! Rest assured, while we flank the anti air, this battle, this war- will come down to if or not you can hold the line! I know you can! I have seen you fight! I have fought in the pits with you! I have seen you stand against ogryn! I have seen you stand against monsters! " You shout to cheering

"MEN! STAND WITH ME! I PROMISE YOU, I WILL FIGHT. FIGHT WITH ME! STAND FOR YOUR PEOPLE! WREST YOUR FREEDOM FROM THE JAWS OF THESE XENOS INVADERS WITH ME, AND I ASSSURE YOU, NOBODY WILL QUESTION YOUR STATUS AS FREE PEOPLE EVER AGAIN!" You roar and the men cheer back. You know many of them will die. They will not die with a lie on their lips. You are not offering them hope. You are offering them the truth. You are offering them glory. You offer them noble purpose.

The men chant Invictus loudly.

You hold the axe Kolinaisi gave you. He'd probably do some Haka or something to rouse the men. You could only offer truth. Your 'captains' all former gladiators stand behind you in awe.

"Angron, commander- We will win this right?" Caracalla was nervous. You have seen him since he was thrown to the gladiator pits, and fight his way to being a warrior, and stand by you becoming one of your best captains. He always was candid with you.

"If this plan works. Yes. We will win. I will take the life of this monstrous Randa Alpha myself." You say and your men pound their chests.

"We will not fail you Invictus!" Caracalla says and there are other echoes. There is joy in their voices. Joy or fear, it's hard to tell. There is a nervous and anxious energy. They have seen these opponents. The few that have been on these outer raids before are less and less. They make their show. Frank better not fail.

You waited for the crack of a hypersonic boom. The signal to go.

-

"We have one angle of approach and it's going to fucking kill us." You say pointing to the map on the screen as your plane

"If we come down the mountain from the angle of the sun fast enough" Charon says and it is a legitimate route.

"We will cause an absurd hypersonic boom, and get eaten alive by anti air, because there is no way I can fucking pull off a dive like that and survive from the G force."

" Yeah but we could fly low and fast instead of pulling up." The navigator says.

"Yes, that is true but then we are in the range of everything on the ground, so we would have to keep up the hypersonic boom! At that low of an altitude it's- " You sigh.

"It's the only option." You say. It's a suicide run. It's an insane full out suicide run. At least the Rangda wouldn't expect it. It was so fucking crazy Kolinaisi would scold you. Arona is going to be pissed at you.

"So what are you waitin-" Charon asks and you point to it. In the far distance, there is a smaller space ship. It is clearly not of Rangda make, or anything that is xenos. It is human, probably imperium, but not very big.

"So what do we want to do about it? For all we know it could be Ganth Pirate or full on Rangda controller" Your navigator says.

"We do nothin. If it's reinforcements, they are too far away. If they are an enemy, well, if they are then it doesn't matter because we are dead." You say and everyone looks upon you grimly.

"Hail em?" Charon says

"With what? Oh this is Fulcrum way of Kappa? Come in over?" You say jokingly on the radio after fat thumbing it.

"Kappa?" A familiar voice asks.

"Alpha?" You respond

"This is he. Who is this?"

"Fulcrum, an agent of Kappa?" You say confused by the sheer insanity of such a coincidence happening.
>>
>>5235278
"Are you in the tiny fast thing over by that mess of Rangda that we can't get at due to the anti space / anti air weaponry?" The familiar man asked.

"Anti Space weapon? What the hell is that?" You say looking back at the Rangda

"It's a mobile Mass driver. We wander to close we'll get clipped." the man says and you see it off in the distance. You thought it was a rock out crop from the mountain

"That thing is mobile?" You choke out.

"Barely. They can get it to move fast enough if they need it to. Our scouts and such are trying to find a good entrance, but our small fleet is tied up dealing with the Rangda on another planet nearby." The mysterious Alpha says.

"So in addition to our Hypersonic attack, we gotta make a run at that weapons platform, which will probably be protected and defended." You say

" Unless you expect to do this without reinforcements." Mister Alpha, as Kolinaisi called him, says.

"Why can't you get closer?"

"It has specific gravity tracking. If we even get past this mountain it will hit us with an over the horizon shot. We were lucky we even were able to advance this close something is jamming satellite communications over us or nearby and we have been trying to figure a way to fix the target without the air defense knocking it down. We were surprised only the air defense not the space defense could target you because that anti space gun can shoot in a hurry, but it seemed to ignore you." Mister Alpha says

"Why haven't you called Kappa?" You ask

"I had to give my comm to Epsilon. I was called here to help save someone of importance named Angron." Mister Alpha says, and suddenly it doesn't seem like such a suicide mission.

"Well you came in the nick of time then." You say

"I'd say the same about you Fulcrum." Mister Alpha says.

The Rangda is an able opponent.

It moves fast, not as fast as Kolinaisi, but faster than most things you deal with. It's stronger than the Ganth, probably strong as if not stronger than most orks from what you've heard.

Something is wrong with it though.

It is unable to act against you as it should. An opponent with it's speed and reflexes should be able to make quick work of someone like you.

Instead it struggles.

You probe with strikes.

You test it's speed and it's fast.

It's strength is strong, yet you keep getting powerful strikes on it, like it only able to see you at the last minute.

Not like it's blind, but like it can only see you through a haze.

The mud. It clouds it's senses.

It senses like a shark.
>>
>>5235281

That is why it is an efficient predator. Yet. Sharks are sight or sounders or pulsa. They either hunt by vision, by sound, or by the pulse. You take out their key senses, they are big fish.

You begin your attack and test.

It fails.

Repeatedly.

If this beast could sense your mana, you'd be deader than a beached yum shark.

Your fight is swiftly ended with a strike from a nearby heavy rock. No noise.

You look down on the valley below. You see more.

You decide a different approach with these beasts will be best. They are all gathered so nicely in hunting packs.

You climb the mountain quickly like the goat, and get to the jammer. You find a hidden outcrop, and disguise the broadcaster in an area where it can still send it's signal out. You put some of the mud on it, and it still works fine- or at least you think it does. It doesn't really do much when you turn it on.

You expected a beeping.

Or some sort of noise.

Or the thing on top spinning.

Anything. Just not a green light that flashes on time and few blue light bars.

Ya shrug it.

You slowly stalk the main body of the troops, and you decide like a shark you must make them pay for their mistakes...

___
"JAMMER IS GO! MISTER ALPHA WE ARE GUNNA MAKE A RUN WE NEED TO KNOW IF YA GONNA ASSIST." You shout loudly, fear partially taking over your voice. This is probably the second stupidest decision you have made.

"Lead the way Fulcrum, we will coordinate with you as the situation evolves, but you take out that anti space gun, I will personally stand with you." Mister Alpha says and who let out a breath and begin the G maneuver breathing you were taught.

"THEN YOU BEST BE READY!" You cry out as you bring the vehicle about towards the mountain and everyone begins mimicking your breathing.

"BRACE!" you shout as you pull back near the mountain.

"I really hope you know what you're doing friend!" Charon says as Max and Cris say strange things in high gothic about glory you fling forward knowing the limits of the human body and gravity. You race up the mountain outside of targeting you then go up in the climb to 33km before the ship tries to go to space drives to prevent the stall.

"I REALLY HOPE YOU GUYS DON'T VOMIT." You say over the roar of the engines. And everyone looks at you like you are an idiot. Great.

You accelerate, the first sonic boom is somewhere down the mountain, and you begin to angle the kinetic shield to prevent flack and activate the 'stealthy' button, as it begins to reduce something on one of the screens, but not your speed. As you barrel forward faster the Hypersonic speed occurs

"HIT HYPERSONIC!" You shout loudly as you activate the guns against some of the ground units and fire the main weapons element over the anti space gun. It happens so fast you are lucky you have targeting assistance and natural talent. Your shots ring true.
>>
>>5237678

Straight up knocking it over and setting it on fire.

"Fulcrum this is Alpha actual! Prepare for assistance! We will provide cover fire for your return approach!"

"Careful of inbound friendlies Alpha Actual, another- uhh, Alpha? is going to be leading a charge down there against the anti air elements and there Rangdan Alpha. Spirits that's a lot of alphas..' You let the last part slip as Charon almost vomits.

"Fulcrum actual, we will engage carefully. Be advised we have a limited ground element as well, we will approach slowly in case of inbound space hostiles." Mister Alpha 'Actual' says.

"We will probably go to ground as well as necessary after this next support run." You say spinning up the engine, only to see the Anti Space gun do something you would put on Ganth Tier of stupid simple manuevers and use the gun to right the vehicle and turn it towards Mister Alpha.

You have but a second

"BRACE!" You shout as you almost pass out from the Gs as Charon vomits and Cris falls over. You unleash a barage and another sonic boom from the attack.

---

"Frank sure is making a lot of noise." You say looking at Oenomaus who shakes his head.

"THATS THE SOUND!" You shout as the portcullis rises and your small unit advances through gate. Your unit comes to line and the charge begins.

You have to go slow, the men act slow as well. You need to time this just right...

__

You fire upon the anti space craft as the anti-air guns begin to advance quickly towards you. The big craft's gun is removed from the main body of it and falls off to the side.

"Alpha Actual space gun removed cover our next few moves." You say

"Copy Fulcrum, we'll be glad to." Mister Alpha proper says as you see the rapid approach of two cruise missiles.

You move quickly away as flack comes up and destroys the cruise missiles. The Rangda are not idiots.

" ANGRON YOU BETTER BE AS GOOD A"

"Fulcrum pfft. Man I am better." You hear the voice of Angron says.
--

The Rangda counter charge and advance quickly.

Right into the Artillery barrage.

You leap up on your bike which is being towed

"Fulcrum pffft. Man I am better. At least at this." You say.

Your bike team begins to move on to assault the Anti Aircraft guns.

Your elites swarm around the big flack cannons, and are able to surprisingly avoid the flack.

Then you hear it.

The psychic scream.

The Rangdan Alpha has taken to the field.

__

A few sonic booms work really well at covering your approach.

And make the rock slide down the mountain that much easier.

The crashing of rocks is almost natural when it's like this.

And the Rangda go down nice and easy.

Then you see it.

You don't hear it, but you see the sonic waves from the base of the mountain. Like the one Deliah did.

You can keep huntin these Rangda all day.

But someone needs to stop that Alpha.

The Medicine was helping.

Whatever temporary sickness had come had started to pass with the drugs Kolinaisi had provided. In another era, he would have been an amazing surgeon and doctor despite being as big as a truck and his hands being so massive. Still. The damage was done.

Depending on how long Kolinaisi took at Olympia and getting back

You

May

Die.

The true death. The thing you have been dodging for many millenia. You were not going to let old age or disease kill you. At least while there was so much to do. You look at the settings and everything ready to go. Starting the process now would be terrible, furthermore you can only do it past a certain point. The only way this works is if you get everything right.

Finally assembly of the soul trap so you maintain yourself is very important during this process. If you don't get that right- it's best not to think on it.

Certain things however needed to get done.

You look at the list of things you have to do yet.

It isn't that big.

But it is important.

If I'm reading this right, all of the Old Man's work is leading up to a sort-of reincarnation, and the trap is meant to hold and preserve his spiritual self from the transformation.

You look at the armor, the goats, and then the soul trap and sigh.

You shudder at what could happen.

You souless.

The leviathan wouldn't be that nasty compared to that potential.

"Computer, automate process to genetic process goats to make the meta material silk, that way when I am done with the checks I can finish the armor."

"Process started."

"Thank you." You say and watch the food for the goats get presented to them as fresh plants. Which will have genetic markers that will allow their milk to produce a very unique and special meta material silk. This kind of internals for a void armor is important, and also good for regular armor. Granted, the kids will have to be bottle fed in order to continue this process, however, the fur of the kids will probably also allow for good use as well. Not a bad bit of genetic manipulation, considering both the male and female goats would be useful.

You go over to the soul trap.

The problem with a unique device is that, if you are the only one who knows how it works, if you miss something there is nothing you can do about it, even with your powerful ancient computers this is mostly based on your knowledge. If you fail- you will likely end up a souless monster that would scare even the most hardened Drukharii.

Peeking in-

You are really glad you did your last minute checks first!

The machine actually had set much of this to an unfinished setting.

These are simple settings. Literally moving a trigger here, setting a device there, nothing that is too complicated. Doing it at the last minute though?

Could be a disaster.

Looking upon it, you realize that it could come in handy later- but this, this is far too powerful to just give to anyone. Sure making a copy for Kolinaisi seems good, but this is more Neoths lane or 'The Emperor.' Yeesh. You remember him when he was in one of your study groups. Why would Erda lose her mind like that? That video. Why would she scatter her children?

Perhaps you should talk to him. Again.

"Come out ya cowards and face me like a man, Y'all think ya so strong with ya big guns." You sing and you hear Angron start to chuckle.

"Apparently Kolinaisi's song for me is popular." Angron says over the comm.

"Y'all lads handle this. Alpha can you send some troops with ya, Angrons troops and I shall do overwatch." You say spinning the ship out of the range of the guns.

"Have us help fight, because I think your piloting will murder us." Cris says puking.

"I'll drop off some of my men nearby to assist." You say.

"Copy Fulcrum actual. I'll personally meet up with them to assist." Alpha says as you pull off near a boulder spot and you have never seen Charon and the rest move so fast.

"Good luck!" You say and charon pukes

"You too." He says.

As soon as they step off with the big guns and long knives of the islands, and your secondary navigator takes the gunner seat, and she looks at you.

"We gonna survive this?" She asks and you look her dead in the eye.

"Nothing is written. But I think we will." You say and she nods.

"Ready?" You ask.
"Ready." She nods fearfully. grabbing the gunners controls as the seats adjust you take off.

You begin whistling your brothers song for you.

"Alpha I am going to go after the big one and it's protectors. What's your plan?" You ask him

"My ship provides cover like your artillery, I lead some of my men to assist, and help you flank that thing." Alpha says.

"Sounds like a plan" You say riding your 'bike' that has been lovingly called by oenomaus as the 'Chariot invictus' and your mechanic as 'the bloody monster' you ride hard and fast towards the Alpha, though of all the forboding things you see, a great landslide heading down the mountains from on high. It will likely devastate most of the land force.

Then you see it.

The tallest human you have ever seen that isn't one of your brothers or an ogryn. One of Kolinaisi's lads. Tybro. And in true De'lormosan fashion he is riding one of these boulders like he is surfing it down the mountain.

The bemused snort and smirk comes clear over the radio.

"What is it?"

"Tybro is assisting us with some unique help." You say

You ride up to range of the Alpha, and it seems distracted. Like it is managing many things at once, and isn't focused particularly on you. This could be a big mistake for it.

You ride down the mountain on the flat boulder. Your weapons ready as you eliminate most straggler Rangda on the way down. It isn't quite wave riding.

It's faster.

A lot faster. You fire of a few rounds from the pistol that you were given.

You see Angron, as he is big like Kolinaisi. Then you realize he doesn't have the mud, but he is stronger than most men.

You got enough mud for him, but you are worried about more than that. The Alpha, is huge.

It would be a problem for Kolinaisi, and it's gonna be a big problem for you. Angron doesn't have your protection.

>> Get to Angron first- hand him the mud and what comes next is whatever works

I wanted to get this in before the next thread.

You grab a jar of moonshine, the photo from your shelf, an old book and an old picture slips out. You look at it, and put in the book as a nice surprise.

You have limited time left before what you must do. So you figure you will talk to an old friend while you still have time should the worst happen.

You look around and Ravi comes walking up.

"Hey old man where ya goin?" He asks you.

"On a brief walkabout, can you watch my place while I am gone? Gonna be quick if I am not back in time for dinner and you wanna do a cook out go ahead." You tell him and he rocks back a bit as if you hit him with a hard punch

"Thanks ol man? but where ya walkin?"

"To Terra I think? Not sure." You say.

Then you grab bark from your tree. And for the first time in a very long time, you show how powerful you can really be.

Զ̶̢͉̮͚͚̯̝̘̻̩̦͓͐̌̄̽̃̾͐̉̉́̈́͛̀̆̌̕գ̶͇̙̹̩̤͓͕͔̻̼͚̌̽̋̃ͅե̵̢̜͍͔̱̝̜̭͙̥̭̪̼̔̈̏̑͆̍́̐̎͆̐͝ս̵̡̤͎̤̝̘̻̮͖̦̭̗̔̉̓͗̀͒̂̎̍̍̈́̊̀̓̃͜͝͠տ̷͔͍̙̹̬̺̖̑͊̍̋̎̾̍̃̃͒̃̓͘͘ա̵̧͕͎̤̮̺̺̗̯͉̮͒͂̽͐́̾́͑̆̿͋̒̂̀͘պ̷̧̘̔͒̃̎̄͘̚ա̵̛̯̪͖̈̂͗͊̆̓͆̄̈́̂͝հ̵̨̤̳̞̝̜̪̖̹̮͔͂͜ͅա̸̖̜̤̯͚͍̮̘̝͔̰̺͎̮͚͌͜͜ր̶̨̢͚͍̺͚͍̹̳̮̯̘͖̗͊̔͂̽̆̂̆̏́̓̒̔̓͘̕̚ͅա̴͖̄͊̐̈́͌̉͑̎̓͂̕͠ն̶̣̥̻̮͕̥͖̗͚͖́̀̈́̔̎͒̓̾͜
"OI! Ya gotta teach me them magic words aya ol timer?" Ravi says quite impressed by the finery you made for yourself. You put the bark in your pocket and take a single strand of Neoth's hair.

"I can't. Maybe ya son can some day." You say with a smile, and honestly you feel a little younger. Then with a nod and a finger over your lip.

Վ̶̺̞͆̂͛̄̐̑̕ե̵̞̠͖̯̃͑̾̈̇̏̈́͌͂͗͒͘̚͜͝ր̷̨̢͖̹̭̮̗̖̪̝̮̤̥̻͖̈́̀͑̑́̎̑̀̽̇̌̏͘̚͜ա̶̢̳̥̈͑̾̈́̈́̎̀̾͘͝մ̵̖͕̻̈́̀̑̒̆͌̚͜ͅի̸̛̣̭̰̖̥͎͂̄̀̔͂̃̿͐̇̈́̈́̎͊͘͝ա̸̠͉̺̏̋̌̾̈́̾̂͂̀̾͂̃̒͘͝վ̵̨̖̥̞̮̳̩͉̫̝̘̣̈́͗̓̂ո̸̬̘͖͖͔͙͓̻̼̙̻͍͓̽́̿̄̆̌̾͘͠ր̸̡̛͓͉͚̳̣͒͛͆͘͜͠ͅո̸͓͓͎̱̙̊̊͒̆͒̽̄̆̿̀́͒̚̚͠ւ̵̡̡̭̼͔̳̘̋̑͌͗͂̏̍̇̈̎̾̊̉͂͘մ̶̧̨̧̢͖̺͚͉̱̹͖̹̭͈̩͋̆̂͑̎̈͌͆͜
Ravi looked around.

"I better not have accidentally had vision fish again."

"HOLD!" The commander of what you are assume are the companions of your old friend says raising his fist as they all have their adriathic spears pointed at you.

As if that would work.

You were a part of the order Adriathica.

"My old friend. You could have called." The Emperor of Mankind says and you pull out the jar of moonshine. To everyone else, it must be a spectacle of the eyes. You have no idea how he appears to everyone else. To you, he has always been the relaxed, waaaaayyy too tall man with hair that was fair too good for someone as smart as him.

"I see." He says knowingly then nodding to Malcador then to his guards. Most leave. A few stay.

"What is it about?" He says as you pass the jar to him.

"I honestly wanted to catch up with ya before I got to deep into my work." You say as the small group walks.

"Hold." He commands and he looks at you. And you are not sure how long it has been since you have seen his expression like this. He is trying to sus the truth out. Then he looks not shocked. But relieved. Over-joyed even.

"It has been over 10,000 years. And you came to just talk and catch up earnestly. I have almost forgotten what that is like." He takes a swig of the drink, which is almost all of it, and then passes it back to you

"Haven't forgotten the taste of that though." He says and you let out a chuckle and you present the book and photo to him

"For you." You say and he looks at it, studying it carefully and sighs.

"If you taught my son anything about records keeping, I will be eternally grateful."

"Nah. He has been learning that on his own, though he is picking up a bit from me." You respond.

"Oh?"

"He's learning medicine. He fixed something I got suddenly. When he get's really good he is gonna be better than me. He also has been learning a lot about technology. The lad can fix just about anything he sets his mind to. It's impressive." You say and he looks impressed.

"That is more than I could have hoped for, and everything I dreamed of, what else do you know of him?"

"Ya probably know he surfs, like the old Hawaiians did, properly even. He is a leader of his tribe. He has done quite a bit." You tell him and he nods.

"How have you been friend?" You ask and he looks at you.

"I have been well. The work of reuniting all of mankind and having us take our rightful place as master of the stars is ongoing, but it looks like I may get to see it done." He says.

"You sound busy."

"I am. But I make a point of putting aside time for others. And I think I may have to do it more after learning what I did. I may have to alter my plan, slightly in some ways significantly. We already had to get ahead of schedule, which is positive for humanity, though it is making things complicated."

"How so?"

"My sons, are all different ages, wildly so. Horus is in his thirties. Rogal Dorne is 40. Fulgrim turned 24 not 48 hours ago, Magnus thirties and yet the most recent Lion'el Johnson is a mere 10. They should have been more uniform in age, yet the warp works strangely. The oldest is 41. If I am not mistaken Kolinaisi is the youngest at 8?"

"He isn't even that." You tell him and he laughs

"What are you working on?" He asks

Wow. I forgot I have time. Sorry lads. Let's get this in before the next thread!

MEANWHILE- BACK ON THE SOMETHING FIERCE!
--
You wake up to a knock. You look up and it's Rongo. He puts upon your desk the account and some breakfast. You get up lazily stretch and walk over.

Your first rest after your long navigation shift seems eventful. At least after celebrating the signing of your pact with your brothers. You sit down, and you see Erihapti starting to wake up, and Meera tossing and putting a pillow over her head. It looks like she has taken a shine to sleepin in your bed while you are in it. You think it's more than her just trying to stay warm as the ship does tend to the cold side.

When you view the account, you see what Rongo added. The haul from rescuing Perturabo, which is massive. As far as hauls go- even when divided properly among the crew, your brothers, Roboutes men, and for reinforcing angron, it's a huge haul. Even being unkind to your crew- it would still be one of the most legendary hauls. And Jerah's Mokka is getting hauled with it.

De'lormosa is going to have some very happy days in the near future. So you begin to copy the records and double check them.

So for your records which you are grazing over you possess the following:

25 ships varying in size from slightly larger than yours to small transport craft.

2 knights, one being your cousin (And technically not yours, just taking up space, which Rongo has politely marked as 'loafin')

1 Man of Iron

1 Scary Box

5,000 weapons of various type and range

300 special shields

50 Thunder Halos

4 Goat kids freeloading in your room that said 1 Man of Iron is trying to get back to their heard

1 Shoal Stoat that is begging for your fish

1 Fabricator

1 Witch Body Guard who has gotten awful close lately and has been loafing next to you having decided standing next to you while you do records keepin is more important then gettin some extra sleep. Ya don't mind though.
>>
>>5247403

Which- You do.

"Meera. When was the last time we checked the reserves?" You ask and she raises an eyebrow

"Not too long ago, your brother topped us off after everything got made." She says.

"Do you think we should maybe make a tank?" You say thinking of the warfare term

"One of those Armored Vehicles with the really big guns?"

"Yeah one of those. "

"I don't see why ya just do another fighter and use it instead." She says in a playful tone.

"If they have air defense it may be better to have something armored on the ground that can assist us next to the knights." You say and she scoffs

"You just want a fighter craft so you can do what Gella does." You say and she shrugs.

"I don't know, maybe an armored vehicle might be better. Maybe if we had a tinier knight or two that may be good also."

"Yeah but I aint so sure about those. I didn't ask too much about em." You say then UR, after finally doing his goat wrangling pauses.

"Why do you two think so linear? You don't have to build a knight to have an armored walker. There are thousands of other things. Though if you built a small hunting group, if you did it right I could assume control and lead them. Though I am absolutely sure Lancer would have a conniption fit." UR says making a spot on immitation of your voice causing Meera to laugh. Which causes the goat to bleat. Which earns a tiny giggle from you.

The happy moments. Before the inevitable combat. These help. Your glad you can share them with the crew, and that they are merry around you.

"Ayo Cap." You hear Jerah call you on the ship board comms.

"Wuzzit Jerah?" You say quickly

"You over compensated by a lot! We gunna arrive way early. Your prep time probably went down by a lot you gave us 12 hours to play with." Jerah says.

"That's time we can use to plan. The faster we do this the better but not at the cost of planning." You say

"Theys, well. There is also another thing causin our dear navigator to feel confused. She says there is an odd corridor in the warp. that looks somethin like the webway or some other thing. She says you may need to take a look." Jerah says and it isn't a may. That is a firm should.

"Twelve hours aint long." Meera says and you ponder. Briefly.
