A new planet has just been discovered.
Dubbed SUIWULD, the planet appears to be a generic terrestrial with one exception: the ocean water has been replaced with some form of highly processed nutrient liquid. There are some basic creatures living here, and you will soon colonize this planet once life feels advanced enough.
You've just purchased a time desynchronizer, allowing you to speed up relative time on this planet to your will.
Peer-reviewed studies suggest that there was once an extremely advanced race of sentients here over 10000 years ago. They built great machines beyond comprehension to satisfy their every desire, but never left the stars. One day, they were all gone. Collapsed under its own weight.
>How to play: Pick a creature, edit it in any drawing program, maybe add text explaining what happened to the creature, save as .png. In other news, an Evogame is a style of game on /qst/ where a few starter creatures are given, and anons make edits to the drawing to represent them changing and gaining traits as the generations go by.
Notes:
>You can beam down and explore the planet! Just ask to beam down with a location, and you will.
>Evolution tree will be posted every 1-2 days. Random events will happen every few days.
>Try not to make evolutions too abrupt. This is evolution, after all

Zyfish are filter feeders found everywhere in the ocean, consuming water and nothing else. They almost always suffocate after consuming plant matter, as it gets stuck and causes a blockage in the lungs.

Aks are closely related to Zyfish, and can be considered the apex predators of the current ecosystem, for now. They mostly just laze around, dive for food, and stare hopelessly at the ruins of the old world. The head cavity is exposed due to a longstanding mutation in the species. Its a good thing this planet is perfectly sterile... for now.

Some Lenti start producing bigger seeds. The extra volume is not used to store more supplies for the developing seed, given the abundance of nutrients, but to store air, making the seed buoyant, and causing it to get swept up by currents. For now, the seeds float about the oceans until they gather enough nutrients to start developing, with the extra mass causing them to sink back to the ocean floor. Some do so sooner, their air pocket breached by shocks ill-advised consumption by Zyvish specimens, as the larger seeds can still fit within the filters.

Those modifications cause the affected Lenti to seed far and wide along the planet's main oceanic currents, instead of in a circle pattern.
The effects on population growth remain to be seen. While the floating seeds no longer have to fight for space in between their elders, a trip on the currents is by no means safe, and there are slightly less of the bigger seeds per stem.

An evolution of the AK broadmouth, the AK have now developed fingers! Two of them at least..oh and a thumb! They can now grab washed up Zyvish with more effeciency, maybe even grab a live one and bash it against a rock if they're fast enough.

However, all of this extra brainpower devoted to fingers and movement is a little much. As a result of increased blood flow tp their new digits the AK's cheeks are slightly flush and discolored.

Also the brain is a little bit bigger and the head is continuing to form.

4 KB
4 KB PNG
Being carried by the currents close to and at the surface of Suiwuld's nutrient oceans has exposed the altered Lenti seed to a new source of nutrition: sunlight.
Before long, almost forgotten mechanisms start back up, and the chlorophyll-adjacent pigments which gave the Lenti their green tint, and which they probably inherited from an ancient surface dwelling ancestor are once again producing energy for the plant through photosynthesis, greatly improving development in its early stages before it sinks back down. These modifications develop near simultaneously within many Lenti specimens, and before long, the faster growth allows them to outpace non-sunlight using specimens.
The pigments mostly fall into disuse when the Lenti seed sinks, expect in the rare cases where it does so in shallow water. Still, such a marked advantage mean this variant is now the most widespread, a fact helped that virtually all Lenti contain vestigial pigments, meaning that any Lenti which develops the "air sack" seed modification will sooner or later develop this one.

A subspecies of Ak Grabber finds itself favoring inlets, lagoons, atolls, and similar fishing "chokepoints". Able to spend days lazily sitting in one spot, scooping up whatever Zyvish pass by.

They develop longer, more muscular arms suitable for snatching up passing Zyvish, and their skull takes on a strange brim to help keep their pale bodies from being roasted in the sun. Their legs, however, become partially vestigial, as their sedentary lifestyle means less energy and nutrients need to be dedicated to locomotion. Their skull brim also makes it difficult to see above them, but since they spend most of the day scanning the water below them, it's an inconsequential sacrifice. So far.

Ak fishers who manage to survive the evolutionary disaster of using your own brain as bait develop calcified "armor" on their elongated brainstems, leaving them less exposed to quicker prey and tide buffeting alike. Stronger anchor muscles in their skull, allow them to more quickly retract their brains from the water. While not quite as tempting to potential prey, their general lifespans increase significantly.

The Cannibal Ak feeds exclusively on the brains of other Aks, plucking them out of their open skulls like fleshy little berries. The Cannibal Ak, like all other Aks, is too stupid to differentiate between Ak species, and thus evolution has saw fit to give these creatures a fleshy covering over their skull to prevent them from eating each other's brains. During the mating season however, the male Ak's braincover will retract, and it will use it's uncovered brain as "bait" to attract females. In this state, the male will attempt to fornicate with any Ak that approaches it, with no regard whether it has a covered skull or not, so homosexual and interspecies matings are still common.

The Lentickles go one step further and shoot for the surface, using a bladder of air at the end of their tubes to float it's arm like a buoy.

A second seed patch is present in the alongated arm.

The abnormally large seeds are a side effect from the excessive growth hormones necessary to reach such sizes.

Their main predators, disguised as regular Rochs, are a twisted menace.
With it's deceitful nature it could surprise them at any time, revealing it's dangerous talons and voracious appetite.
Now, though, the Roch have an incredible arsenal of detection. Equipped with longer, and more sensitive antenae, and pair of glands that produce a sweet smell they now can sense regular fellows by smell. Not only that, they can also spot their terrors by visual queues, with the newly evolved iridescent covering of their shells, regular Rochs display a beautiful sheen that the Reapers can't reproduce.

The AKtards came to be because of their newly aquired appetite of the sweet tasting bugs.

>It's way more convenient to eat at ground level if you're shorter
>It's way easier to just lick your food into your mouth

Majestic perfumer rochrays larger glands protrude exoskeletal extensions from the pores on the Elytron forming nozzles all this too spray there scented fluids from engorged glands and why? too attract others of there kind as safety comes in numbers, alone they are easy pickings not able too create large openings to get away with a snack or a ambush instead of being someone else, while there are more mouths to share between its enough too fill all there bellies

Lentilis shell/kernel grows longer on the inside and shorter on the outside building up elastic tension all this is tied too a weak point its tail that was attached too the parent plant, when sufficiently bumped into at the bottom the shell will curl out gripping onto what ever it was be it debris like scrap, wires or a rock even sand curling up and "firmly" anchoring it in place with its thin shell where it will germinate into a seedling.
there bread and butter is growing in awkward places where not anything else can have its seeds put roots

follicles growing long and hard are useful for spearing or more like roughing up bugs. there long necks allow for a easier time eating from the ground biting onto there prey and drinking. You may wonder why they are not spilling when leaning, its because of there spoon shaped inside of there face thankfully so because with a smaller skull means being able to contain less liquid making it more precious.

Cexroch females grow two protrusions from the abdomen you may wonder what they are used for? its a pair of "shovels" for burying the eggs in the sand where they are kept moist, generally hidden and distributes the crushing force when something steps on them.
but the male sort of went crazy with it, the genes responsible for the same segment as on the females protuberances went crazy extremely unstable and prone to mutations currently, generally most of them are used for grabbing onto the female while mating while not necessary at all it can help most are sort of useless
