Warning: This will deviate from the lore heavily. A silly qst since I need a break from my actual qst. This qst will be based on this https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_High (though some names will be changed). This is basically a dating sim with Warhammer stuff. This qst will basically be a one-shot for each primarch’s daughter, how it goes is up to you. You've been warned, this is not for the serious and the somber Warhammer accurate lore fans. I hope you'll enjoy it!

You are Anonymous. Today would be your first day transferring into Imperator Academy. It was possibly the most prestigious school not only in Terra, but in the whole Imperium. Even the sons and daughters of lords couldn’t get in with all their fortunes. Their rigorous standards meant only the best of humanity could get in. After all, daughters of the primarchs were attending here after all.

It was difficult to realize that you managed to get in, as a transfer no less. From what you were told, the last transfer was… never. You were the first to be ever transferred through sheer academic efforts alone. That and your former situation may have helped as well. That did not changed the fact that you still made it to the Imperator Academy.

But boy… was this place immense, not to mention the pressure the architect exuded. The pointy caps, the arches carved so elegantly, even the windows were work of art. Not a single corner of the building was produced from a factory, it was worked by a master craftsman. For a name so simple, the scope of the academy was gigantic, as expected of a school where the daughters of the primarchs attended. You were here couple minutes, but at 13:00 you were supposed to meet her. You stood around, taking in the atmosphere, glancing at your watch in front of the student body building.

The moment it was 13:00, you hear the chime of the bell and the door opening. In front of you was possibly the most beautiful girl you have ever seen. Shimmering blond hair, sharp nose and eyes like gleaming sapphire.

“Ah, you must be the transfer ______. Welcome to Imperator Academy. I’m the Student Body President, Roberta Guilliman.”

You take her hand for a firm handshake.

Your “situation”

>Years ago, you were rescued from an illegal gladitorial arena in Nuceria. You, your siblings, and other children who were saved lived under a new identity. To support your younger siblings you studied your damnest to attend here in hopes getting a job to provide for your family.
>You were former child gang, of House ([choose]Goliath, Van Saar, Delaque, Escher [Female only]). Years ago, you helped an arbite who was in a bind in exchange for a new life for you and your younger siblings.
>You and your younger siblings were sold off by a highly known Administratum official to a minor cult worshipper. To not have the office’s integrity in question, you and your siblings were given a new life. The officer’s crime was not exposed, but he was “relocated.” It was a long journey to claim a “normal life,” a journey that has yet to end. For you, entering the academy was the beginning.

“Ah, you must be the transfer, Florence Nightingale. Welcome to Imperator Academy. I’m the Student Body President, Roberta Guilliman.”

“Thank you, just call me Max."

“Of course. Come on, I have much to show you.”

Whoever gave you this false identification had no accounting for a good name. It was long and unnecessary, but it was certainly better than having numbers as a name. You follow Roberta around the campus. From the atrium to the mess hall. The academy was too big to be called a school, rather a small village.

“And this is the gym.”

Batons, staffs, practice swords, and there was even a trampoline, not to mention the sheer size. Roberta chuckled at your wide-eyed stare.

“It’s quite the gym isn’t it?”

“Yeah I’ll say. It’s amazing.” You said with a slacked jaw.

“Only the Terra’s finest instruments are here,” Roberta said proudly. “There are also plenty of clubs for you to join.”

“Like what?”

“Fending, spear sparring, unarmed, triathlon, swimming, and that’s only the start,” Roberta said. “Of course, there are other clubs.”

“Sparring huh…”

You look at your calloused hands that has yet to soften. In a bizarre fashion, you continued to train within the Imperium in secret. For one, it was an unbreakable habit. Two, you never know what would try to harm your siblings, the only good thing left on this Emperor forsaken galaxy.

“Is something wrong?” Roberta said.

“It’s nothing.” You said with a forced smile. “Where to next?”

>It was then you noticed a tall girl, just like Roberta, approaching with a toothy grin. Covered in sweat she was holding a practice sword.
>As you were being given the tour, you met the Dean of the school, Dean Yarrick, one of few faculty members that knew your true identity.
>It was in the courtyard the tour ended, and it was where you saw another tall girl like Roberta, clearly another famed daughter of the Primarch. Roberta's brief but noticeable frown made it clear of her dislike, but who was this girl? She clearly seemed proper, dressed impeccably like Roberta. You just hoped nothing dangerous would happen.

Waifus are temporary, Yarrick is eternal, at least as long as there are WAAAGHs to be had.

Get with the times old man, we live in the era of the more lore appropriate thicc fem-Primarch. In all seriousness though I know a guy that could probably upgrade these old designs with the correct level of MASS. Femarch 40k quests have lifespans of 2-3 threads on average so I'll see if this quest lives long enough for it to be worth putting him through the trouble with his busy schedule. Unless you're willing to spend $15-$20 to commission him of course.

After this one you'll get the chance, no worries anon

The halls were bustling with students, and you could feel the attention on you as you walked alongside with Roberta. You wouldn’t blame them, Roberta was one beautiful girl. Then you see on the other side the students parting ways. You knew that resting scowl anywhere, that was the first face you saw when you took the first step in your new life.

“Good afternoon, Dean Yarrick.”

“That remains to be seen.” Dean Yarrick said. “I assume the tour is going without an incident?”

“Yes, Dean Yarrick.” Roberta answered elegantly. “

“Good, keep it that way. Kolbe.” Dean Yarrick nodded toward you.

His voice WAS like hot gravel soaked in centuries-old amasec. A bariton of a voice that was sharp a bayonet, yet coarse as a jagged stone. The infamous claw, it was beautiful as the first time you witnessed it in battle. After all, if not for him you would still be in Nuceria.

“Sir.”

“Should you need my attention on a matter, you know where to find me.”

With a pat on the shoulder, he continued his walk. Now their eyes were on you, even Roberta’s.

“Wow… I never saw the Dean like that before.” Roberta said. “You must’ve really impressed him.”

“It’s nothing really… I just know him since he helped me with my transfer.”

“Impressive.” Roberta said.

You arrive back to the entrance of the academy. By then class was over.

“I’ll see you tomorrow Max, we’re in the same class after all.”

Now you waited for your siblings since you promised to walk home with them.

>Though you didn’t see the point since you lived in the academy’s dorm. It was just you and your siblings since the students had a home of their own in Terra, they were sons and daughters of nobles after all.
>You lived in an upscale apartment where low-ranked army officers and low leveled officials would live if they were stationed in Terra. It was still a luxurious place.

You live with Dean Yarrick, so you’d have to wait until his shift was or you get picked up by his secretary. You wait by the gate as you watched the other students enter a fancy car or aerial vehicle. Lucky bastards, children of all ages too. You knew your anger should not be aimed at what they were born with.

“Max~!”

You saw your siblings, Aldous and Catherine running toward you with their pristine uniforms. You run toward them and squat down, they basically tackle you into a hug. They were fraternal twins and looked pretty similar. But they were in synch as if they were twin psykers.

“Hey you two!”

They giggled in your arms. It was hard to believe they were such bright children compared to years ago. You held both of their hands with your backpack slung on your shoulders. While the norm was you’d be given a ride, you thought taking a walk to see the upper scale area would be fun for your siblings. And it was. Their eyes darted everywhere, pointing and cheering on everything they saw.

“Max look at that lady’s funny hair!”

“Woah look at that servitor’s fancy hat!”
“Aldous! Catherine! Stop saying that!” You chided them quickly.

Though it didn’t really stop their enthusiasm.

>Without much of an incident you returned to Dean Yarrick’s mansion.
>You heard a loud roar of an engine, it was an assault bike, but smaller and without weapons. You lift your siblings in your arms and get to the furthest side of the sidewalk just in case. What was strange was the bike stopped, toward where you were.
>A considerable crowd followed a girl, wearing the same uniform, she had dark skin with jet black hair, she was tall, just like Roberta. Your eyes met with hers for a moment, but when it did she walked toward you.
>A considerable crowd followed a tall girl, like Roberta, even had the same blond hair save it was longer than Roberta’s. You met her eyes and she begin to approach you with graceful steps.
>It was difficult to not look at the girl, she had the right amount of flamboyance and elegance. A perfection, her shimmering silver hair was almost entrancing to look at.

A considerable crowd followed a tall girl, like Roberta, who even had the same blond hair save it was longer than Roberta’s. You met her eyes and she begin to approach you with graceful steps. Aldous and Catherine, children who were raised in the gladiatorial arena as you were, were immediately hidden behind you. They didn’t like strangers, that was why they were told to arrive earlier with you. Aldous and Catherine grabbed tightly on the hem of your coat. A habit back in Nuceria.

“Mmmh…” Max grunted. “I don’t like her.”

“I don’t like her eyes…” Catherine said.

Well it was true, there was a resting glare in her sharp eyes, accentuated by the fluttering eyelashes. Not to mention the way she walked, like Roberta she had quite the thighs. Underneath the layers of cloth, you could see the thick physique. Once she approached closer, you saw the clear difference in height. But now, you were aware of the crowd behind her.

“Safiryte El’Jonson.”

You took her strong handshake.

“Maximillian Kolbe, mind having your… entourage back off? They don’t like having attention on them.”
She nodded after glancing at your siblings, the crowd followed her order despite their jealous glares. Looking at her face closely it was like staring at a porcelain doll, emotionless, cold, offset by her enchanting beauty.

“It’s not easy to transfer here, you’re actually the first transfer in the academy’s history.” Gwynevere said.

“So I’ve heard.”

“How did you get in? My peers and I are quite curious.”

You realized she didn’t release her hand, the grip only became tighter, not to mention the constant eye contact.

>You weren’t much of a liar, but showing your real identity was worse “I just studied.” You answered simply
>Social life be damned, not like you wanted to be an astartes… or to fight again. “With all due respect, I think that has nothing to do with you.”

Social life be damned, you were there to graduate, get a job, and provide for your family. It wasn’t like you wanted to be an astartes too. You were done with fighting after all. You grip her hand tighter and look her square into her eyes.

“With all due respect, I think that has nothing to do with you. Lady El’Jonson.”

Her eyes narrowed, exuding an aura that many would fear. But you, who faced the pyramid acid pits, a deadly game of prey and predator in the forests against soldiers, and faced horrors of humanity, she was but a spoiled princess. You’ve killed men, worst of the worst to the most undeserving.

“This academy was built with mankind’s finest.” The Lioness answered. “I’m only here to see what kind of ability allowed you to enter here and what you can contribute to the academy and mankind. If you have entered the academy honestly then there shouldn’t be an issue.”

“Well, I just like to keep my affairs, my affairs. If you’ll excuse me-”

Her grip tightened, this interrogation wasn’t over.

“You’re the first ever student to transfer to this prestigious academy with Dean Yarrick’s favor.”

How did she know that already?

“This academy is a sacred place, it is my business when it comes to whether you will bring down an academy or not, you are an outsider that doesn’t understand old Terra’s way after all.”

“It still isn’t your business.” You growled it out. “I need to go home now and cook dinner for my siblings.”

The aura disappeared, replaced with a cordial yet cold smile.

“Of course, then answer me one thing. Do you plan to pursue politics?”

It was your plan, and so were other career options. Whatever it benefits you and your family.

“Perhaps.”

“My club, Cherubics, would be a good way to network with Imperium officials.”

“I’ll think about it.”

She smiled.

“That’s all I ask. Good day, Maximillian.”

You returned home without much of an issue. Aldous and Catherine threw their backpacks and immediately went for their rooms.

“For the love of the Emperor… Al! Cathy! Pick up your backpack and wash your hands now!”
>>
>>5228046
They sighed, and moved with the speed of a dying slug. You follow them upstairs and wash your hands with them. The dinner was simple, and you made sure to make Dean Yarrick’s portion.

“So how was your first day?”

“It was fun!” Aldous and Catherine said in unison.

“They were nice to us-” Aldous said.

“And we made friends!” Catherine finished.

Those smiles… there were no greater gift than their smiles.

“That’s good. You two didn’t just stick with each other right?”

They both nodded.

“What else?”

“We also played tag during recess and we won so many times-” Catherine said.

“- and the teachers said we were super fast and mayb we can join a Jr Sports Club!” Aldous said.

You grab two napkins on each hand to clean their cheeks. Emperor, they even ate the same. It was a good thing they were a fraternal twin instead of identical, they you wouldn’t have been able to keep up.

>Dean Yarrick returned soon, he thanked you for the meal and took it to his studies, he still had work to do.

I mean, WaHi "canon" is basically just some conventions and shared elements that developed out of stories people wrote rather than an authoritative set of standards so there's many liberties that can be taken.

The meal was continuing so pleasantly. Good food, fun times, something you learned to cherish. It was then you heard a bell chime echoing throughout the mansion. You continued to ignore them, not like it was your business to attend to Dean Yarrick’s guests. It would have been better to not embarrass him by seeing guest as well.

“Why are they keep ringing?” Aldous said.

“It’s too loud.”

Their scrunching face made you move. When you opened the door, you were met with two tall girls. One with obviously curled hair that shimmered like sparkling silver. Another one was a bit shorter, dressed in a more casually compared to the sharply dressed girl, rather sickly looking. Though it still looked like she could toss a grown man with ease.

“See I told you Morticia. I knew I saw someone going in here.” The girl said. “Good afternoon, I am Phoenicia and this is my cousin Morticia. We’re here to deliver some notes from our fathers regarding their latest expeditions.”

“Dean Yarrick isn’t here right now but I’ll give it to him.”

“These documents are rather sensitive is it alright if we wait here?” Phoenicia said.

“You can alway come back after you leave your vox-number.” You said.

Just what was up with you and attention today?

“I’m afraid it must delivered soon as possible.” Phoenicia said.

Like hell you were going to let strangers in. While your siblings made great strides through therapy, they were wary of strangers. It was certainly better when they used to be completely silent or outright hostile to them. Then you suddenly see Morticia cough violently, then fumbling to get her inhaler. She was in pain, even with the help of inhaler she took several press to calm herself down.

“S-Sorry.” Morticia said sheepishly.

“No… it’s fine.” You said.

“Max… who are they?”

Your siblings were peeking from the corner.

>You stood firm. “I’m sorry, Dean Yarrick isn’t here and I’m not comfortable letting you in.”
>You sigh, you couldn’t let someone sick just stand there “I’m not sure how long it’ll take for Dean Yarrick to be here. But you can come in.”

You really didn’t want to let them in. Your plan was to graduate with the top grade while being away from the attention. Maybe join the Administratum or be an officer in some agro world. You sigh, you couldn’t let someone sick just stand there. You open the door reluctantly, much to your sibling’s chagrin. Your siblings retreat to their room quickly while making sure to shoot a dirty glare. You sigh.

“Sorry about those two, they’re not exactly fan of new people.” You said. “Excuse me.”

You climb up the stairs and open their door gently. The twins were on their bed, reading a book together. Not really reading though, you know they read faster than that. You sit by their side, with a hesitant smile.

“I don’t like them.” Aldous said.

“They’re strangers.” Catherine said.

“They’re only here to deliver a document, it won’t take long ok?”

Their silence told you enough, you stood up but Catherine grabbed your sleeve.

“You won’t abandon us right?”

You hug them both tightly. Their small shoulders, soft skin, and their tight grip on you as you hug them always made you remember.

“Of course not. I love you both more than anything. I will never abandon you guys. Sit tight ok?”

They nodded. You walk down the stairs and saw them both patiently waiting.

“We do apologize for the sudden intrusion, why, I never go your name.” Phoenicia said.

“Maximillian Kolbe.” You said.

You prepare some tea and place it on the recaf table. Morticia drank it but Phoenicia took a sip and place it down on the table.

“So, are you a student in the academy?” Phoenicia said.

“I am, I transferred here.”

Their eyes widened.

“You’re the transfer student.” Morticia said. “Roberta was talking about you.”

“Yes… you’re the one with Yarrick’s favor. At least, his respect it seems.” Phoenicia said. “That’s rather impressive.”

“I just know him since he helped with my transfer.” You said casually.

You see Phoenicia’s leg cross and her thick thighs. Emperor…

“I think it’s still amazing,” Morticia said sheepishly.

“Quite. Dean Yarrick has a rigorous standard. I don’t think even Heraclius met his complete approval.” Phoenicia. “And he’s the Captain-General’s son and never lost a match.”

You twiddle the thumbs of your twiddling hands. A match… you hated that word. Not that it was anyone’s fault. The hot sands, the sticky and damp handles, taste of copper, the blur, the consuming rage… the begging, there were so much of that. You close your eyes, then open back up, seeing the artful home you were in now.

“A match, huh.” You said quietly.

“I beg your pardon?” Phoenicia said.
>>
>>5229675
>“It’s because he sees it as a match, something to win or lose, a game…” Your hands ball up to a shaking fist, slowly sinking into the reemerging memories, the surrounding became blurry, tainted by the vision of the past. “Fighting is never about winning or losing, it’s about killing your opponent to live another day. No matter the methods, anyone who whines about honor or dignity hasn’t felt a blade chip in their ribcage or the withdrawal of a stim. Living with the guilt of being a heartless murderer.” [Gladiator]

>“It’s because Dean Yarrick fought for his life, to him it was survival. And to survive, it’s more than winning or losing. Even more when you have people you care deeply. Then nothing becomes sacred, and you have to live with the guilt with what you have done.” Your hands ball up to a shaking fist, slowly sinking into the reemerging memories, the surrounding became blurry, tainted by the vision of the past. “To see fighting as a match, a game… what a fucking joke.” [Gladiator]

>“I mean…” You chuckled forcefully thn clear your throat, that was close. “I guess Dean Yarrick expects more. He’s the Captain General’s son after all.”

Phoenicia nods but Morticia looks at you longer until breaking eye contact.

“You’re a guest of Yarrick, what’s your relationship with him?” Phoenicia said.

“I’m just a guest.”

“Enough of a guest to cook in his kitchen.” Phoenicia said.

“It smells good.” Morticia said. “Do you cook often?”

“Yeah I had to learn how to cook since I take care of them.” You said proudly. “They’re picky eaters too, so I have to mask some smells so they won’t know they’re also eating vegetables.”

Morticia giggled, then coughed lightly.

“You must love them dearly.” Morticia said.

“I do. They’re…” All you had left. “They’re good kids. Not a hint of selfishness other than being picky eaters. Though that’s on my part.”

“You like to spoil them. I can understand that.” Phoenicia said.

“Since when?” Morticia giggled.

Phoenicia gently pulled on Morticia’s cheek playfully.

“Since you, silly.”

You noticed her sharp eyes focus on you again. If not for the situation it would have been a pleasant thing. You weren’t going to lie, you like female attention. But not when they were prodding you.

“Are you interested in any military-related occupation? After all, most students plans to be either an officer after the academy or delve into politics.”

“Mostly politics but I’m still not sure.” You said with a shrug. “I don’t like conflict.”

“Yet you attended an academy known for its competitiveness,” Phoenicia said.

“I’m not afraid of competition.” You said simply.

“You’re confident,” Phoenicia said. “But I wonder how long that will last.”

>“As long I can provide for my siblings, I don’t really care if I don’t reach the top.”

“It’s not about how long you can last, it’s about getting back up when you’re beaten down. I’m not afraid of that, and I’ve done it before.”

You meet Pheonicia’s eyes, those silver eyes shining like glinting sword in the night, bathed in moonlight. It made you wonder just how her mother would look like. Though this was not the time for something like that.

“To fall once already is disgraceful.” She said disapprovingly.

You meet her glare with a glare. A tense silence, until it was broken by Morticia.

“I think it’s admirable.” Morticia said. “I have a condition so I don’t attend lectures a lot. I’m not good at much either.”

“Morticia didn’t you beat Freya in a spar not long ago?”

“I was just lucky.”

“Lucky… right.” Phoenicia. “You need stop devaluing yourself because of some illness. It’s your perseverance that made you strong despite your illness, you refused to… oh you sly girl.”

Morticia smiled foxly. Phoenicia rolled her eyes.

“I suppose it’s not a complete disgrace.” Phoenicia said.

The door opened and Dean Yarrick returned. Whatever documents needed were given.

“Welcome back, Sir. There’s some grox and vegetable steamed if you want. It should still be some what warm.”

“Hm.” Dean Yarrick grunted. “I’ll be in my studies.”

“Are you ok with them knowing that I was here?”

“Offcially, you are a guest as my friend’s son. I see no reason to keep a secret.” Dean Yarrick said. “I expect you to carry yourself accordingly.”

Dean Yarrick left to his studies, and you siblings finished their meals eventually. After the meal you were in your room, checking the class schedule. But what you noticed in your homeroom was alarming if not eye opening.

>You were stuck with half of the daughters. Theta & Eta, Furia, Phoenicia, Heraius, Kaligo, Faith, Isis, Morticia, and Petra [The traitors]

Depending on what is chosen you will be locked into the pool. If the traitors, then you can only romance them now and vice versa. Forgot to add that part
>>
Theta & Eta -> (Two alphapet that comes after one another. Like twin’s they’re inseparable and so are the letters)

Heraius -> Horus’s daughter (Hera, queen of Olympus, thought it was fitting since she’s the daughter of Horus)

Kaligo -> Konrad’s daughter (darkness in latin)

Isis -> Magnus’s daughter (Egyptian goddess of knowledge, life, and magic I thought her name was more fitting instead of being used for Horus's daughter.)

Eclipse -> Corvus’s daughter (I thought the moon motif fits her better personally)

Atsali -> Ferrus’s daughter (Steel in Greek, I thought it was fitting since steel came after Iron)

Elyan -> Lion’s daughter (Yes I changed the name, if you guys don’t like it I will change it back. My reasoning is that Gwynevere (Guinevere) was originally Arthur’s wife. And since Lion is based off of King Arthur it didn’t feel right naming her like that)

Flamouria -> Vulkan’s daughter (I do like Venus but the name felt weak not to mention it’s based on goddess of love, sex and beauty. NOT SAYING SHE ISN’T. But Flamouria is more than that like Vulkan isn’t just some guy who has coal skin and red eyes. To me, the name sounds strong and hey, fire motif, passion. All that good stuff.)

Personally, names means a great deal. Sorry it took a while guys.

This had to be a mistake. You look at the class schedule again, it was no wonder your homeroom assignment didn’t come in so early. If you knew before hand you’d panic or ask for a different homeroom class. Seriously? Half of them? And these were some heavy hitters too, the twins, Roberta, and Angelus, the most popular of all according to school rumors. What a headache. You would go to Dean Yarrick’s office, but you didn’t want to bother him.

After making sure your siblings took their shower and brushed their teeth, you do your own and go to bed. You looked up in the ceiling, uncertainty gripped your unresting heart. You weren’t afraid of them per say, it was the consequence of making an enemy of them. One slight against them meant the end of your job prospect.

Eventually, morning arrived. With both your siblings holding each of your hand you walk past the gate and you first escort them into their classroom.

“Ah, Mr.Kolbe.”

“Good morning Ms.Tetahedron. Please take care of them well, I know they can be a bit of a handful.”

“A fine morning to you as well and don’t you worry, they’ll be in good hands.”

“Thank you.”

You stand in the courtyard, many students were lingering around since homeroom wasn’t due in ten minutes. Some were throwing disks, synthetik leather spiral balls, or just goofing around. In front of you was the main building of the school. Taller than the walls of the colosseum, and elegant as the Emperor himself.

>You enter the school, and navigate among the crowd to your homeroom.
>Your reflex caught an oncoming spiral shaped ball with ease. A male student was running toward you. You knew his face, no one on Terra didn’t know who he was. He was Heraclius Valdor, and along side him was Julius Pius, and some other people behind them.
>You hear some commotion, mostly girls fawning over and cooing, and wouldn’t you know it, it was Aldous and Catherine, and another teacher of the elementary section escorting them. You know that they started class later than yours, but what could they possibly want?

“So cute!”

“Aww, look at them holding hands!”

“Would you like some candies?”

You hear some commotion, mostly girls fawning over and cooing, and wouldn’t you know it, it was Aldous and Catherine, and another teacher of the elementary section escorting them. Like a guided missiles, they found you with ease. They waved their free arm towards you, which had their attention to you.

“Max~!” They said in unison.

They ran toward you and you bend your knee to receive their hug. You ruffle their hair lightly, and you didn’t care about the attention for now. You know that they started class later than yours, but what could they possibly want? For now, it doesn’t look like they’re in trouble.

“Hey Max can we visit you during lunch time?” Aldous said. “We swear we’ll-”

“Behave and won’t cause any trouble for-”

“Your classmates, pretty please-”

“With smilies on top?”

You sigh, you seriously wonder how they weren’t born as identical twins.

“I don’t know… that’s something I can’t really decide. This place is crowded and other students will look at you two since you’ll be out of place.” You said reluctantly.

You’d have to do your best to dissuade them, sometimes they were too dependent on your presence.

“We’ll be fine. We can find a more quiet place to eat lunch-” Aldous said.

“Where no one can see us!” Catherine finished. “Oh please please-”

“Please please please?”

You see the girls giggling, and their attention slowlying pinning on you like prickling needles. Resisting their dewy eyes were always a struggle.

You sigh. On one hand, you really should stop spoiling them so much. On the other… they were children, kindergarten to be more specific. When you remembered the dark and damp underground prison that you and your siblings once called home.

“Alright, I’ll meet you two in here during lunch ok?”

“Yay~!”

They hug you tighter, and you couldn’t help to embrace them, thinking of the dark cells, where the only light was from the crack of the floor above. The only clothes they had were some fabric with a hole cut in for their heads. You used to steal produce sacks and tuck your siblings inside the bag. They were so small back then, so fragile.

“Max?”

They weren’t even your actual siblings either. But that never mattered to you, not once. You needed them as much as they needed you.

“It looks like-”

“You’re gonna cry…”

“What?” You force out a chuckle. “Of course not, I’m just so proud of you guys. So proud. It’s liquid pride.”

Ah grox shit, you promised not to cry in front of them, and you managed to on their first day in school. Gotta change the subject.

“Today’s dinner will be your favorite, but only if you get to class.”

Their eyes sparkle as their mouth form to the loveliest smile in all of Terra.

“Really? AlrightMaxwe’llgonowbyewelove you!”

You don’t know how they can talk so fast in unison. Either way, you left for your class, fully aware of the attention you were getting. You entered your homeroom quietly and took your seat. The person next to you was…

>A student who sported a bushy beard that you couldn’t help but admire. He was a squat, a minority of the Academy’s population

A student who sported a bushy beard that you couldn’t help but admire. Magnificently braided and decorated with gold. He was a squat, a minority of the Academy’s population along with other abhumans. You know Terra’s stance on them, but you fought along side them before, a squat by the name of Gimgu, he owed some money to some hive gangers and ended up here. He was tougher than a ceramite with a barbed tongue, and a golden heart.

“What yer lookin’ at?” The squat said. “You pike biting nose bawface?”

Emperor, you miss that man. He could break a stone but have the finesse to change a baby’s diaper. The class went silent, and ocne again all eyes were on you, including the primarch’s daughters. You didn’t know why, squats were just short-tempered. But so were humans.

“I like your beard.” You said simply. “That’s a bifur style right?”

His bushy brow was raised.

“How do ye knaw?”

“I met some squats in my time, I didn’t know what stronghold he came from though.” You chuckle. “You’re from League of Norgyr right?”

“Perhaps.” His stache bristled. “Why do you think that?”

“It’s the closest one to Terra.”

“Yer name?”

“If you want it, don’t you think it’s better to say your name first?”

There was a chill, for your classmates but not for you. You stare him down and the squat burst with laughter.

“HAHAHA!” The squat bellowed. “Yer not bad for a pansy.”

“Ad you’re rather tall for a squat.”

You both share a good laugh.

“Name’s Glimli of House Gloin.”

“I’m Maximillian Kolbe.”

You had your usual class, with two elective classes since your transfer and previous school credit was enough that you didn’t have to take all of the mandatory class. Your elective class was-

In terms of keeping good grades, Introduction To Melee was the best choice you got. It was an easy class to get a high grade out of not to mention it was a good way to keep an exercise. You did not like fighting, but that was when you were a forced gladiator. It was a relationship that you couldn’t really put into words.

The class was rather simple, but since it was the first day it was pure endurance training. Running, jumping, push-ups, lifting weights, it was easy to tell who was and wasn’t children of military personnel. Though what surprised you were the primarch’s daughters. They were even sweating. Not to mention why was Elyan here? You expected her to be in Advanced High Gothic or something.

Well, not that it was an issue with you. You, along with few others already finished your exercises. As if the lecturer expected, either you could take a break or go spar with someone. Some of the nicer students invited you over. You were proficient in all weapons, your choice of weapon was-

>Claws that would be attached to your fingers instead of your knuckles with bladed vambraces. That way you never let your weapon fall out of your hand
>Claws that would be attached on your forearm instead of your fingers and bladed vambraces
>Sword and shield, classic and reliable, a mix of good defense and offense saved lives.

You were always a practical fighter, and no weapon was more practical than the staff. If broken you could use it as a club. A spearhead is broken? Then it’s a staff. There were many applications of staff that you took the time to master of different kinds. Another reason was due to the fact that the staff was always available in the weapon rack. Not to mention, people really underestimate the staff.

Since others have already found a partner, you might as well get some practice in with the staff alone. You balance the staff in your hand then spin it a little, it was sturdy and perfectly weighted, as all things should be.

“That’s an interesting choice of weapon.”

You turn to see a student, and you were near six imperial fitus. He was a bit shorter but you knew to never underestimate anyone. You know who that was tooo, he was Julius Pius, the son of the Ollanius Pius. You now wish you didn’t pick up the staff.

“It’s practical.” You shrug.

“Well, it’s been a while since I got to practice with one, how about it? I’m Julius Pius, you’re the new guy right?”

You took his handshake and nodded.

“Yes, I’m Maximillian Kolbe.”

Saying no would just create more drama. You and Julius stand in the sparring pad. Julius twisrled his staff and you merely took a stance and waited.

Once the whistle was blown, the sparring began.

You held out the staff like a spear and charged. Julius grinned and sidestepped it, he spun his body along with the staff, and from the direction of it, his aim was obvious. You never understood the point of twirling like some fluttering cark. There was time when you should and you shouldn’t. You pivot your feet then-

>Kick him in the stomach before the attack connects
>Duck, then tackle him to the ground
>Grab the incoming attack, get close, then headbutt him
>Dodge then make a distance to try attacking again

You outstretched your hand with a slight bend to your elbow, the staff smacks your and it stung like a bitch. You ignored the pain as you gripped on the staff. It was years of fighting that made you let out a bellowing scream, you grab his collar and then dip your head back.

“By the thro-”

Your head collides against Julius’s face. There was a wet crunch as it happened. It was like watching a statue being pulled down. Julius swayed to the left, then stumbled to his right, trying his best to stand until his body took a dive. You catch his falling body then gently place gently down. There was a dull thud echoed in the gymnasium. Oh feth...

“That new guy just beat Julius in one move.”

“Holy grak…”

“Ouch.”

Coach Creed was rather indifferent about it, as expected of a war hero. That, and he also knew of your past. There was complete silence, then a ‘pfft’ that blew up into laughter.

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAA ALL FATHER’S LEFT HAIRY TESTICLE OH HOLY GRAK THAT’S THE FUNNIEST FRAKKING THING I’VE SEEN ALL WEEK!”

Freya was laughing up a storm while Elyan was none amused by what happened. It was Coach Creed’s glare that shut her up.

“Not bad. Someone get him to the infirmary. What tare you gawking around for? MOVE IT!”

You didn’t get in trouble? Huh. It must’ve been a regular thing, this academy did have a lot of sparring clubs after all. Egeryone else began their exercises again.

“And Kolbe.”

“Yes Sir?”

“Fight strategically next time, brute strength will only get you so far.”

You nodded sincerely.

“Yes Sir.”

Your eyes widened, the two girls glanced at you then talked to one another. Something about sparring and you. Oh grak… Elyan and Freya with their practice weapon approached you, when they were close enough the two girls glared at one another.

“Hey, new guy.” Freya growled. “Between her and me, who do you think it’s worth for you to spar against?”

“I’ll take both of you on since both of you want me.”

Now Elyan had a scowl and Freya had a grin that’d frighten the hardiest gladiators. Freya’s grin, however, melted to a simmering glower, and Elyan’s glare was sharper than the blades of the Great Gorechild.

“Yer gettin’ cocky there, meat.” Freya growled.

“Arrogance is an insidious killer.” Elyan said icly.

“I’m trying to be practical here. It’s that or two of you decide and you two don’t look like the type to concede toward each other.”

They turned to Coach Creed, and his nod made their eyes widen. It was a mix of indignation, surprise, and confusion all in one go.

“Don’t go cryin’ fer yer mum after we’re done with you.”

Freya had a sword and an ax, while Elyan had a longsword. You stood on one side and they stood on another. Once the whistle was blown, it was on.

Your guess was correct, it was Freya that would make the first assault. With how wide the sparring area was, you simply ran around and dodged.

Freya was the hammer, and Elyan was the nail. A common tactic in two against one battle. Though their strikes… one would knock you out clean. It was all dodges or parries, a straight block had to be done sparingly. It was a game of two predators and prey.

“QUIT DODGIN’ LIKE A SCAMP!”

“Maybe you’re just too slow.” You taunt.

“Whaddya say!”

Their attacks and purpose were predictable, they were trapping you slowly into the corner. But you had one advantage, size. Bigger wasn’t always better. Freya begin her flurry of attacks, which meant Elya couldn’t find the gap to attack in between.

“He’s baiting you Freya calm yourself!”

“Shaddap and help!”

Another overhead chop, this time you took the opportunity and thrust your staff, it was a solid hit that stunned Freya. You took that opportunity to make space away from Freya. Then it was Elyan’s turn. Her attacks were precise and powerful, with pure control in every movement. You block the sudden kick and the force sent you to stagger. Damn it you had to-

Darkness.

You open your eyes and find yourself inside the infirmary. The last thing you remembered was a glimpse of Freya’s practice ax bearing toward you.

“You’re finally awake.”

“Yer pretty tough, I’ll give you that.”

You feel bandages on your head and a stinging headache, not to mention dizziness.

“What happened?”

“Knocked yer ass flat to the dirt and sent you flying like lobbing garbage!” Freya said with utmost pride. “How’s that for slow?”

“A force of a battle barge.”

“Damn right I am!” Freya’s grin widened. “Ye weren’t so bad either, you got guts at least. Beating Pius is a feat too.”

“Courage perhaps, recklessness for certain,” Elyan said disapprovingly. “It takes a special kind of arrogance to fight at a disadvantage.”

“That was pretty stupid of ya.”

“A real fight to the death isn’t always fair. I’d rather practice in disadvantages than practice a fair fight.”

You said while looking up blankly.

“Sounds like from some cheesy vox-vid.” Freya said. “But I see your point. You’re something else new blood.”

“Hmph.” Was all Elyan said. "You've disappointed me."

They left the hospital room after that. After half an hour or so you were allowed to leave the infirmary. You enter the empty locker room to change and continue with your first day of school. By now, any time you walked around the students were either staring at you or whispering whenever you were around. You look at the parchment containing your schedule. Since you were a transfer your schedule was pre-made, an ‘academic tour.’Whoever made your schedule must not be good at planning.

The next class was self-study, meaning you’d be stuck in the academy’s library. It was the first day in school, there was nothing to study about. You enter the library from the furthest entrance and to the fifth floor, where nobody would be around since it was the third highest floor. Not to mention most took their self-study time at the end of their period to do their homework.

Surrounded by nothing but silence, it was finally peace at last. You pick up a random book and began reading it. Finally some peace. Until you heard some footsteps. Behind you was.

No amount of words could describe the girl in front of you. A work of art, a miracle, a presence that brought comfort. Just what was it with you and meeting pretty girls? You weren’t made about it of course, who would be mad at having the attention of pretty girls after all?

“Ah, I didn’t know there would be someone else here around this time.”

Her voice was like flowing milk and honey, from the windows and the sunlight, it was as if you were watching a golden sunrise the way she glowed. Her porcelain smooth skin purer than snow, eyes like clear sky, and plump lips red and delicate as flower petals. You saw a glimpse of her folded wings as well.

“Oh uh,” FRAK, say something. “Yeah, my schedule is a bit weird since I transferred.”

“Oh you’re the transfer student!” She clasped her hand in excitement. “I saw your siblings in the courtyard they were so endearing!”

“Yeah they’re adorable aren’t they? It’s getting harder to say no to them.” You say with a chuckle.

“What are their names?”

“Aldous and Catherine, they’re abou- they’re seven years old.”

“Flam and I were watching you-” She blushed. “I mean watching you and the children that is. Flam and I. They really love you don’t they?”

Your heart swell with pride. You may be a modest guy, but when it came to your siblings it was a different story.

“They do, they’re the best little brother and sister I can ask for. I have a photo album on my mini-vox. Do you want to see them?”

“Yes please!”

You put your mini-vox on the table and scroll through. From the simplest slice of life photos to their formal pictures. You watched her smile and giggle.

“How come there aren’t any parents in the pictures?” Angelus asked innocently, then gasped. “Oh did I say something I shouldn’t have?”

“It’s alright.” You smile. “They passed away a long time ago.”

You see her wings droop.

“I- I apologize, it was still insensitive of me.” Angelus said.

“No really, it’s fine.”

“Does that mean you’ve been taking care of them on your own?”

“With the help of the Imperium’s social service.” You said.

“It still must’ve been difficult.” Angelus said.

“Heh…” You let out a hollow laugh. “Sometimes it can be. But that’s just how it is, I can’t bring my parents back so I need to be the best mom and dad I can be. They’re the reason why I can keep pushing on.”

“But… what will you do after that?”

You blink blankly.

“What do you mean?”

She hesitated for a moment but spoke again.

“After your siblings get jobs of their own, what are you gonna do after that.”

Family was everything. Aldous and Catherine was the sole light in your life. Your reason for living and the reason you got up for the day.

“I’ll probably still work and help them whenever they need it.”

It was Angelus’s turn to blink.

“That’s it?”

You shrug.

“They’re the only family I have left.” You said simply.

Then there it was, the face of pity. It was an expression you were all too used to. You could only smile as her lips curved into a pitying frown.

“I…”

“Look, you don’t have to say anything or say sorry. This is the life I decided.” You said.

“But is it what you want?”

“It is. They have no one but me. I have to go, I’ll see you around.”

A workshop class… seriously? You sigh, what is up with this schedule, whoever made this was probably the dumbest or the most chaotic person you’d met. The workshop was a dismal place to look at, grey concrete walls, steel tools and black desks. You take your place on the nearest work table. As students entered they began to form their own groups on the work table.

“That’s the transfer kid that arrogantly fough Lady Jonson and Lady Russ?”

“I heard he kicked Pius in the groin to win.”

“What a glory seeker.”

“Is he even from a noble family?”

You’d confront them, especially on the kicking in the groin part. You weren’t above that move usually, but not in a proper spar. But you held against it, you might as well not cause any more trouble. Whatever bolter and flame you’d deal with, you’d do it. You had worse after all. As the class begin to fill up the door suddenly opened after the lecturer entered.

“Flamouria I told you we’d be late!”

“Sorry, sorry! There’s still a work table open!”

And it had to be you…

“Hey there, I haven’t seen you before, I’m Flamouria!”

You swore your hand was going to be crushed in that handshake if not for Atsali’s intervention. You were standing through the safety rules, and you’d guess this would be what the class would be about. The rest was simple free time.

“So you’re the one who took on Ellie and Freya.” Atsali said. “You must be either the bravest or the stupidest person I’ve met. Though I admit, you lasted whole three minutes against them. That’s impressive.”

You felt the jealous glares on your back.

“It was luck, and I didn’t win.” You said simply then point at the bandage.

“If you did I’m certain you’d be caught between Uncle Leman and Uncle Lion to join either of their legion. I assume you don’t have more fight in you for the day?” Atsali said.

“I don’t think I can handle another concussion.” You said with a nervous chuckle.

“Then again…” Flamouria said. “It really is impressive! Ellie and Freya are unstoppable when they team up. I also saw you with your siblings, they’re so adorable. Family is a treasure that can’t replaced after all.”

“They are.”

The topic continued to family, an you learned about their strange royal-esque family.

“It really is a big family. Twenty cousins and twenty uncles, aunts, and one grandpa.” Atsali said proudly. “I suppose we are a large family to the normal citizens.”

“We all get along!” Flamouria said, her spirits drooped only slightly. “Most of the time.”

“I’m guessing there are rivalries.” You said dryly.

“You have no idea. Freya and Elyan. Heraius and Roberta. Petra and Remillia. Phoenicia and everyone. It’s all in good fun, most of the time.” Atsali said. “I suppose it’s the blood of our father that makes us competitive.”

“But at the end of the day we’re all sisters.” Flamouria said happily. “Are your siblings competitive?”

“They are but it’s all in good fun.” You said. “I haven’t seen them fighting since… well I can’t remember.”

“Competition is what drives people to strive.” Atsali said approvingly. “It’s like Theta and Eta.”

“A mischievous bunch but they’re the cutest.” Flamouria said. “They’re our youngest, well, not really but they get treated like one. It’d be fun to watch them meet your siblings!”

“As long as they’re safe and happy, that’s all that matters to me.” You said with a shrug.

“By the way, why did you enroll in this class? I thought honor student types would take Advanced High Gothic or Physics.” Atsali said.

“My schedule is going to change right now is just an academic tour.” You said.

“Well, would you want to take this class, you have two slots don’t you?”

“I do but I’m not sure for now.” You said.

The class ended you parted ways. Now it was time for.

Man this thread made me draw so much. Hope you guys like the art.

Finally, some normal class. The halls were packed as usual and you did your best to navigate through them. Inside the classroom, you took out your note and prepared for class. You knew the material already, and frankly, you were tired. Tired of the new day, the unwanted attention, and just in general you were tired. After this ‘academic tour’ you would seriously change your class so you don’t have to attract any attention to yourself.

“Hey there, is that seat taken?”

“No, you can go ahead.”

“Thanks, hey Eclipse over here!”

You now noticed the girl, at this rate you didn’t care anymore. All you wanted was to get lunch and see your siblings. Normally you wouldn’t be this… lax, but again, you were just tired. With that, and the classroom being an auditorium, you snuggly sat in the corner, eyes closed and mind too fatigued. The lecturer’s monotonous tone served as a great white noise.

“Psst.”

For the love of the Throne. You open one eye toward the girl, by now you know these two girls were the primarch’s daughters.

“You’re the new guy right, the one that cracked Julius’s nose?”

“Uh huh…”

She grinned, like Freya. You took her handshake.

“I’m Khutulun, and that’s Eclipse.”

The pale girl waved silently.

“So how did the honor student learn a move like that?” She whispered.

“Nobles learn that stuff.” You said casually.

“They learn how to spin a sword, not learn how to headbutt.” Khutulun said with a chuckle. “You don’t look like a noble to me.”

“Then what do I look like?”

She rested her head on her hand where her elbow was propped up on the table. You felt her gazing stare bearing on to you.

“Someone who knows the value of freedom.”

That irked you, more than you’d admit.

“What would you know about freedom?”

“See? You know something about it!”

“Khutulun.” Eclipse said calmly.

“Oh right, sorry.”

With the usual syllabus covered, you had time to talk. Eclipse was a pale girl, with a glum look that seemed to be glued to her face. She was a quiet one.

After class, it was time for High Gothic.

You were early for the class, you saw a table with a sketch of Nucerian Arena and the old article that had you in it among many slaves that was rescued that day. Among the picture was the arena. There was no one around either. There you were, in the arms of an imperial guard while your siblings were carried by Commissar Yarrick. You picked up the old news-parchment, among many questions you wondered who would have this old news.

Then, there it was. Your hair stood, and there was the unmistakable chill you had before a fight. Your neck snapped toward the attention. Yet, there wasn’t any. You swore you felt someone behind you, or atleast someone was watching you. The unconsciously balled up fist eased up as you let out a sigh.

“Excuse me.”

The girl behind you had short wavy hair, she smiled politely at you.

“Oh. Hi. Do you need something?”

“Actually, that’s my sketchbook and my news-parchment.”

“Oh.” You said awkwardly. “Sorry about that.”

“Maximillian Kolbe right? Remillia Dorn. Not a day and you’re already popular.” Remillia said. “Are you interested in architecture?”

“Why would you ask that?”

“Well, you’re standing in front of the Nuceria Gladioria.”

“You know that name?”

She walked over to the news-parchment and the sketchbook.

“A fascinating arena, they say that it was based on the ancient-”

“Romulus Colloseium, in the Pre-Terra era.” You interrupted uneasily. “Yeah, the sons- I mean the nobles there wanted to feel like noble so they built one. I know.”

Her polite smile grew into a wide grin.

“You know about that too? That’s an esoteric fact! How did you come across that fact?”

“Just from a documentary. I don’t really remember the name.”

“I’ll have to look for that when I get home. It was nice meeting you Maxmillian.”

“Please, call me Max.”

The class went on without much of an incident after that. Though you couldn’t shake off that sensation. After class ended you quickly shoved everything in your backpack and left for the elementary section of the school. The quietness away from the noises was tranquil, and it made you think after you saw that cursed arena again… you remembered how you survived.

>It was through sheer might, you didn’t anyone else. Anyone that was in your way was killed without mercy. Eventually, you became top ranking gladiator, nicknamed Caligula, an ancient name that meant ‘merciless’ in Nucerian. [Atsali, Khutulun, Freya]

Hmm...see, team work seems nice and all, but i'm not sure if it would fit what we already know about Max. He seems very edgy and closed off from others, what with all that happened to him, and that would probably be less evident if he was a team leader.

[Now you are locked between Eclipse, Elyan, Roberta, Remillia, the story will pick up from now. I did think about Theta & Eta, but I think I’ll get them unlocked after one of the primarch is done or if you guys vote for them.]

In a tranquil corner tucked in the academy was a small garden. You munched on the custard filled bread as your siblings dug into their packed lunch. You didn’t like being strict with them too much, but can they at least stop taking that big of a bite?

“Come on you two, chew thoroughly!” You chided.
“Mmh kai.” They said with their mouth full in unison.

“And stop talking with your mouth full!”

They nodded this time. These two… you pulled out your handkerchief and wiped their cheeks then gently brushed the crumbs on their shirt. Maybe next time you’ll pack them snacks that isn’t so crunchy and leave a mess like that.

“So how was your first day?”

“It was fun! We got to do painting and-” Adlous said.

“Play dodgeball, our team won!” Catherine said.

“That’s because you had that Lofn girl.” Aldous said indignantly. “It’s not fair that she get to be that fast!”

“She was jumping so high too!”

The sit on the grassy field where the tree provided a nice shade and you watched your siblings run around. You closed your eyes, drifting to sleep. When you opened your eyes you saw your siblings was…

It was Eclipse, making a flower crown. Catherine ran toward you once she saw you waking up with a long yawn.

“Max let’s make flower crowns!”

You rub your eye sand groggily follow Catherine into the bed of flowers. You sit across Eclipse, now that you saw her closer she was a pretty girl. Pale porcelain like skin, hair blacker than night, and piercing eyes.

“Uh, hey. Sorry if my siblings dragged you into this.”

“It’s fine.”

Her voice was that of a whisper, thin and frail. Your siblings were usually hesitant of strangers. What made them so interested? Aldous and Catherine went to each side of Eclipse and tied a flower bracelet on her wrist.

“Hey Eclipse, why did my siblings approach you? They usually don’t like strangers.”

“I came here to eat but I saw your siblings, I was going to leave them be but they insisted I play with them because I look sad.”

You pinch the bridge of your nose… they should learn to restrain their honesty.

“I’m sorry if they caused you any troubles.”

“It’s fine.”

You and Eclipse watch your twins chase each other. Warm sun, blue sky, and soft silence.

The silence, the wind gently caressing your face. Words didn’t need to be said. You simply basked in the silence, enjoying the scenery of your darling brother and sister playing without a care in the world. You yawned again, you didn’t expect the first day of school to be so chaotic.

“...you look tired.”

You rub your eyes, accidentally letting out a yawn. Her monotone voice was slightly raised, though it still felt like a whisper.

“A little. Today was a bit… busy.”

There was a small frown tugging at the corner of her lips.

“Sorry. My cousins attract a lot of attention, it must’ve been difficult.”

“Eh, it’s not that much of a trouble.” You said nonchalantly.

“I’ll see you around, Max.”

After your siblings gave their goodbyes the rest of the day went blissfully normal. Inside of your room, you looked over your class schedule. Much were changed but the two elective classes had yet to be decided. What should you take? You have two slots left among the many elective classes, though you managed to whittle it down.

Ancient Terra Literature, mostly composed of reading and discussion with few essays to write. Then there was Sparring: Freeform, an easy class for an A, though this time you had to make sure not to go wild. You knocked on Dean Yarrick’s office.

“What is it?”

You stood in front of the door.

“The elective class, sir, you wanted the document soon as possible.”

“Enter.”

You opened the door slowly and entered his office. As always, Dean Yarrick was busy with the work for the academy. You walked forward, back straight and not a slump in sight, then placed the document. He picked up the document then glanced at it.

“Ancient Terran Literature and… interesting. Freeform sparring. I thought you disliked fighting.”

You flinched at his gaze, though you did nothing wrong.

“It’s an easy to maintain class, that’s all.”

“I see. Dismissed.”

“Sir.”

You returned to your room. It was the late afternoon and since it was the first day of school there wasn’t much work to be done. You lie down on your bed, glumly looking at the ceiling. Your siblings were doing their homework and already had their dinner. What to do…

If you remember, there was a park nearby. While your hoodie and sweatpants would do the job, this was *the* affluent neighborhood. That meant the least you could dress was a suit, or something that you see those yuppy noble kids wear. The neighborhood was simply too rich for your taste. Marble statues, golden roads, and not to mention the servitors roaming like some servant to be used. It was eerily. You dressed into your suit and headed outside.

The park was quiet and tranquil, something that you always cherished. You hang you head back on the bench you were sitting at. You looked up at the synthetic leaves aimlessly, everything is so fake here you were sure some people were just not real at all. In your thought was Eclipse. The quiet girl, she was a babe. The flower crown on her head made her look like a fairy from a children story. Not to mention, Al and Cathy liked her as well, which was rather rare. Then you heard a dull thwack echoing. Out of sheer boredom you followed the sound.

It was Elyan, with a girl you knew a bit too well, Furia The daughter of Angron. Primarch of the World Eaters and hero of Nuceria. Angron The Red Angel. It felt like immense honor just watching her fight with ferocity and beauty, with dual replica of chainaxe, just like Lord Angron.

Not to mention she was a beauty herself, an untamed beauty that screamed of unbound freedom. Your eyes drifted to her toned body, glistening with sweat as if they were gems.

“Max?”

Elyan said. You clear your throat, putting your hands in your pocket as you walked over.

“Elyan.” You said cordially.

Furia looked at you then back to Elyan.

“That’s him? The moron that took you and Freya on?”

Elyan nodded. The girl stomped toward you with a toothy grin, her rough black short hair swayed with every movement. You avoided her hand shake and bowed instead.

“Maximillian Kolbe, Lady Furia, your worship. It’s an honor, truly.”

“Elyan… you sure this is the guy?”

“Yes.” Elyan said with a huff.

“Sorry, I just uhm… did it out of habit. Getting used to the new environment and all that.”

That was a bold faced lie, and when you met Elyan’s eyes you knew that she knew.

“Well, it’s not everyday I get a new sparring partner, how about it?”

“We were in a middle of a match.” Elyan said with an annoyed low pitched tone.

“We can continue that later.” Furia said. “Well?”

Surprising amount of love for Elyan. I gotta ask anons, since my last qst wasn't that popular, what attracted you to this one?
>>
>>5243326
Your other quest is hardly unpopular, just not as popular.

anyway, /qst/ likes waifus and 40K. A significant number of /tg/ old hands (or people who've delved into 1d4chan) will also have their attention caught by WaHi.
>>
>>5243326

>>
>>5243338
Unpopular but still, the amount of replies within the time is nuts. Also yeah, guess WaHi is fun stuff. It's nice to write light hearted stuff.

I just thought femarch stuff would be fun, and it isn't like your other quest is unpopular, it still had a shit ton of replies on the first thread. Part of it is probably that you posted like a machine, I'd say a quest rapidly gaining traction like that, especially a new one, will probably catch somebody's eye eventually. If only because they're curious of what it is about.

>>5243326

Losing motivation or you need a change of brakes? You can always tell your players that you need a break to collect yourself or figure things out to better proceed. Nobody likes when the QM just burns out, the worst thing you can do is force it.

>>
>>5243326
Here's the thing. This vote was made more so because it wouldn't make sense for Max to interrupt rather than distinctly liking her. The fact that this courtesy endears him to Elyan is purely coincidental.

“I wouldn’t want to interrupt, you were sparring with Lady Elyan. I can wait”

Furia glanced at Elyan, who had bit of a stiffer frown than her usual stone faced look. Furia shrugged, it still felt surreal. Sure, the other primarch girls were beautiful in their own way but Furia… she had an aura only the daughter of the Red Angel can have.

“Tch, that’s boring.” Furia clicked her tongue.

“It’s called being polite, Furia. Thank you, Maximillian.”

“You can just call me Max.” You said with a shrug.

“It’d be informal to do so, but if you insist, thank you Max.” Elyan said.

A smile, you never thought she was capable of one. Furia rolled her eyes. You sat on the bench and watched their sparring. It was a sight, and spectators sonn begin to crowd. From sycophants, to warriors, and people who simply wanted a good time. Though you could tell who were actually experienced in battles, as they watched silently with judging eyes.

Furia had the strength, as well as the advantage of duel wielding. Elyan was swift, but was on the defensive against Furia’s barrage of strikes. It was an even match, you weren’t sure who was going to win. When the fight ended, it was Elyan’s blade and Furia’s ax both near their throat. The crowd cheered at the display.

“What do you think this is, some entertainment for you chumps?” Furia shouted. “Frak off!”

“Furia…” Elyan said chidingly.

“Well Max? Let’s go. Here, you can use my ax.”

“Maybe you can get away with using those uncouth weapons. A sword fits him better.”

Elyan stretched the sword toward you, but there was Furia as well.

To hold even a replica of the Gorechild. It gelt… wrong. It was the Gorechild. A replica sure. This weapon, this very shape was wielded by Primarch Angron. It should only be Furia and Lord Angron that should touch it. You took Elyan’s sword, the sword was on rather the heavy side, though you were sure Furia’s ax would be even heavier. You balanced the sword and spun it a few times.

“Pssh, swords are nothing compared to an ax.” Furia said proudly.

“It’s versatile.” Elyan said.

“It’s lame.” Furia said.

Furia rolled her eyes aas she walked toward the sparring ground. While the crows has dispersed, that did not stop people from watching afar. You grippsed the sword with both of your hands then positioned it close to your right, it’d be stupid to go on the offense. You saw the dangerous glint in Furia’s eyes, much like Freya. It was like a comet the way she charged. You dodged out of the way in a nick of time, then you were met with flurry of blow that you either parried or dodged.

“Show me a good time Max!”

Furia charged again, but in a way that looked familiar.

It all happened so fast, but it happened. As Furia’s ax came from both sides you ducked before that. Using your legs as the spring board, you jumped as hard as possible with the pommel facing up. The hit connected. As Furia stumbled you took the opportunity you aimed for her leg then hit it with the sword as hardest you could, for the last move you wrapped your arm around her neck then placed her into a choke hold.

“You little!”

Then it was like a grox rodeo. You did remember when you had to ride a tigerous and holding on for your dear life. That was something alright. With that same determination, and with the thought of your siblings, you gripped it tighter than vice of your admiration for Lord Angron. The world became a blur as Furia thrashed wildly. When Furia’s hand went for your shirt, you wrapped your legs around her stomach. Which made your shirt rip.

But eventually, you felt the tap on your arm. You fell on the ground, too tired to get up. Furia also lied on the ground, breathing heavily.

“You’re something you know that?”

“Huh yesh…” You let out a exhausted huff. “Thank you, Lady Furia.”

“Just call me Furia… Max.”

You tiredly let out a smirk. The day was quiet after that, and the next school day arrived. After dropping Al and Cathy off, you were relaxing in the court yard with Glimli.

“Yer getting noticed, Max.” Glimli said. “Ye sure knaw how to make a ruckus.”

“Not like I wanted to.”

“So yer telling me headbutting Julius dun at a whimsay?”

You shrugged. And speak of the warp demon. Julius arrived, along side with Heraclius Valdor and his entourage.

“Hey, you. I want a rematch.”

You looked at Gimli, which he simply shrugged.

“No thanks.” You said simply.

“What?”

“He said no thanks.” Gimli said politely. “Are yer ears full of candle wax?”

“I was asking him, mind your own business.”

“He’s ma friend and that’s ma business, you bawfaced toothpick limbed lily liver scrotrum face autist!”

“Gimli…”

“What did you say? You fracking squat?”

“Ye heard me, faggawt.”

Then the punch was thrown. To be fair, Julius did nothing wrong then again… he threw the first punch.

[Looks like first route might be Elyan, which is unexpected. Me? I'm more of a Salamanders fan, what do you guys think about the missing primarch daughters, would you be interested?]

Glimli was a squat born and raised alright. It was the second time you saw Julius having his ass handled as well as his other friends. And you knew well that being large wasn’t the best thing. Glimli didn’t have to duck, he just had to weave, and he was damn good at it. It was like watching a small boulder rolling over trees.

“Hey stop the fighting!”

It was until the school’s disciplinary committee had to break it up, and Glimli made a dash for as the rest of the students did. You did as well, running alongside Glimli and ending up in the corner of the school. You resed on the bench as Glimi chuckled.

“Ah, nothing like starting the day with a brawl.”

“Was that really necessary though?”

“Don’t be a caward nowe.” Glimli said. “I thought ye would join.”

“Not when you started it… but you did kick their ass thoroughly.”

“Hmpgh, flatteray won’t get ma sympathy. Well.”

Glimli hopped off of the bench then stretched.

“We’re already later than a dead eldar, so why not spend the day outside?”

“I’m a transfer student Glimli, you know that. I need to keep my studies up.”

Not to mention he was your legal guardian, meaning he’d know if you went off to play around. You were already in awe of Dean Yarrick, a man that induced fear yet inspiration. You’d hate to see him just scary.

“S’ppose that’s true. Bah. I’ll go get me self a pint.”

“It’s the middle of the day, won’t you get in trouble if you miss class?”

“Naw. Not like they notice me much outside of workshop classes. I have some hidden in the grounds after all.”

Glimli hopped off the bench and went off his own, while you returned to your classes which went off well. It was the last two class you were worried but excited about. First was Ancient Terran Literature, and the first reading was a classic (according to the lecturer). It was Romeo And Juliet. You’d think that an ancient literature will be good, but it was a terrible read. You read ahead out of excitement but really, it was just some stupid romance story.

The lecturer droned on, and the analysis was interesting, as you get a piece of Ancient Terran history as well, what’s left of it anyways. You were next to Eclipse, who was listening to the lecture with a deep focus.

In your idle mind, Elyan came up. A girl you didn’t really talk much with. You kinda realize how much of a stress she must be in. She was the daughter of the First, who was rivaled with Hearius the daughter of the Warmaster and Roberta, the daughter of the most famous Roboute Guilliman. It must’ve been tough. Well, it’s not like it was any of your business. Your eyes drift back to Romeo And Juliet, but you were soon regretting taking this class. Emperor… it’s so boring. Romeo And Juliet had to be the worst written fiction in all of Ancient Terra. Who thought this was a good tragedy worth preserving?

You regretted that you placed Ancient Terran Literature right before lunch, since you thought the class would be interesting enough to make the time go by. Instead, it made it worse, it was as if you were stuck in a frozen time. You strolled over to the elementary section, your steps were light and it was a good day, aside from the morning troubles. Though it was strange. You couldn’t find Al or Cathy when you set this place to pick them up?

“Max!”

It was Al and Cathy, being escorted by Elyan. They broke from Elyan’s hands and ran toward you.

“Max?”

“Elyan, where’s the teacher that escorts them?”

“She was busy and I happened to be around.” Elyan said. “I took it upon myself, I didn’t know they were your siblings. I heard you had them but since they didn’t- I apologize.”

“Hm? Oh, don’t worry about it.”

There was silence as you and Elyan walked toward the academy courtyard. Elyan’s group of followers were there, waiting, though you noticed her annoyance.

“You want to… eat lunch with me?”

Elyan glanced at you, then nodded. So there you were, in the usual spot as your siblings ran around playing a game of tag and reading books together. Next to you was Elyan, watching your siblings with great interest, she sighed heavily.

“If you don’t mind me asking, are you alright? You look tired.”

“It’s nothing.”

In your backpack you saw the small pack of spare juice box and cheese string, it was reserved since you never knew how much of an appetite they could haven that and it was your snacks too. Your rummaged them then silently handed them over to Elyan, she quirked an eyebrow but took the snacks elegantly. You and Elyan watched your siblings playing on the grass, giggling and frolicking like there was no care in the world.

“Do you always keep food in your backpack?”

“They like to eat more somtimes, but theycan be too shy to ask since they found out I used to give away part of my lunch for them. So I always carry a little extra but they’re still hesitant about it.”

“How industrious.” Elyan said uninterestedly.

“You know, even my siblings keep secrets from me.”

Elyan did not reply, or even react. Though you could tell she was listening. Those sharp green eyes of hers, they were always looking for something, not to mention her cutely shaped ears… cute? Anyways.

“They think I can’t tell but they do.” You said wistfully. “I wish they knew they could tell me everything.”

“Why not tell them then?” Elyan said.

“I do. Eventually they’ll come to me, eyes red and still hicupping from whatever worries they have.” You said with a weak chuckle. “They didn’t want me to be troubled they said.”

“You’re saying it’s good to be honest, lest I wish to suffer.” Elyan said. “I’ve heard that before. I am not a child devoid of responsibility.”

You saw the scowl forming on her lips. This was something you had to approach with tender reassurance.

“I never said you were a child. But even adults have their limits.

“What do you know about hardship?” Elyan scowl deepened. “You never had to compete with the legacy weighing on your shoulders amongst kin that are far more talented than I am! You know nothing about suffering. This was a waste of my time.”

Elyan stomped off, crushing the flower beneath her steps.

>“Elyan! I apologiz if I did struck your ire, but I do mean it. It’s not healthy to just bottle up your thoughts.”

This was none of your business. But that scowl of hers, you’ve seen it before. Reflected on the cold glass of your mirror. Bottling all that rage and instability, it wouldn’t do anything but bring pain. You knew damn well about that.

“Elyan, just wait!”

She stopped, then turned back. The sharp green eyes bore into you, like an emerald arrow.

“Speak with haste.” Elyan said flatly.

“I know what it’s like to suffer, more than you’ll know.” You gazed back. “So please, I don’t care if it’s me or someone else, just don’t let that eat you from inside…”

There was no reply, but a silent glare. You sighed, watching Elyan become smaller and smaller in your view. Lunch ended with a bitter taste in your mouth. Back home, you were in your room preparing for the next day, not to mention working on your resume.

A week passed since then. You look outside the window to see the rain pouring suddenly. Once in a while, a rain wasn’t so bad after all. Your school life was stable, though today you were met with an unexpected guest in front of your front door. It was Elyan.

“Hello, Max.” Elyan said quietly. “Can I come in?”

“Sure.”

You stil couldn’t believe your eyes. You offered her a towel and a cup of tea, then you sat across. What were you even going to say in this situation?

The silence was painful, almost unbearable when you saw Elyan sitting so quietly. You came back with a cup of tea brewed straight from the tea bag itself. It wasn’t fancy, sure, but it looked like she didn’t mind. She neither scowled nor touched the cup.

“So… how have you been?”

Silence answered, a full minute at that. The cracks of the fireplace echoed, softly muffled by the rain hitting the pavement outside. The storm was getting worse, though you liked weathers like this, it certainly was a change away from Nuceria’s weather after all.

“I’ve been thinking about what you told me…” Elyan finally spoke. “Let’s say hypothetically.”

Oh Emperor…

“That a certain female has been feeling pressured by her father’s legacy.” Elyan said. “And she’s afraid to speak about it. Her cousins have problems of their own and the other cousins are her rials. What should she do?”

“Well, have she spoken to her father?”

“No, because she knows the answer.” Elyan said forlornly. “Her father already has the burden of his own duties, she doesn’t want to trouble him further.”

“I don’t think you’ll know until she speaks to her father.” You said. “He’s your father isn’t he.”

She shot a furious yet silent glare.

“I-I mean, she’s her father.”

“What do you propose she should do?”

“What about her friends?”

“Friends.” She scoffed. “They’re nothing but sycophants who wants the scraps of her influence.”

>“She should speak to her father. I think he will understand.”
>“Well, there has to be one friend that she has she can speak to. Maybe someone who doesn’t want your influence and doesn’t care about school politics.”
>“What about speaking with Councilor Celestine?”

Since when are members of the imperial family ever insensitive and out of touch?

“Well, there has to be one friend that she has she can speak to. Maybe someone who doesn’t want your influence and doesn’t care about school politics.”

She stared at you with a blank expression, as if what you said was conceptually impossible. You sat across the sofa waiting for her to say something, anything. This went for full on two minutes. The sound of rain begin to overwhelm the crackling fire.

“I see.” She finally said.

Then without much of a goodbye she left the house. You weren’t sure if that helped or not, but you hoped she was better, or at least had a friend that she could talk to. Al and Cathy peeked from their room, and once the coast was clear they went down the stairs and curled next to you.

“Hey Max, why did that girl come anyways?” Aldous said.

You shrugged.

“I’m not sure.”

“She looked sad.” Catherine said.

“Really sad.” Aldous said. “Are you going to help her feel better?”

“I don’t know Al, I don’t know.”

The next day, you were in your class per usual and when the bell for lunch finally rang, you got ready to eat. Since Al and Cathy wanted to play dodgeball with their friends, that left you open for a quiet lunch. Or so you had hoped. The door slammed open, and everyone went quiet when Elyan entered. She approached your table, glaring that could pierce the warp.

“Have you eaten your lunch?”

“N-Not yet?”

“Good.”

She turned around and walked, then looked back. Taking that as a sign to follow you took your packed lunch and walked behind her. You ended up in a quiet and empty unused room, one that you didn’t know existed. She pulled out a foldable chair from the locker and ate her lunch.

“Aren’t you going to eat?”

“Oh right, yeah.”

You took out chair from the locker and sat across from Elyan, silently eating your lunch.

Silence is bliss you suppose. You simply continued to eat your lunch amidst the silence. The rain outside continued to pour. The muffled sound of the rain itting the window echoed. It was rather strange to wonder just what was happening. You, the guy who wanted to be left alone with the most attention attracting girl there was.

“When you said that you knew what it meant to feel to suffer. What did you mean by this?”

“I just know what it feels like to suffer, that’s all.”

“And what was that exactly?”

“I’m not exactly from Terraria. I was rescued when I was child.” You said reluctantly.

“From Nuceria?”

You nearly spat out the lunch from the calm but explosive answer from Elyan. You could only stare in pure confusion.

“Huh?”

“I assumed you were from Nuceria since you held Furia with more attention than others.”

“Well no, I mean, you see…” You clear your throat. “I’m not from Nuceria. I just happened to read the biography of Lord Angron.”

It was a quick glance, but you couldn’t help but to feel small under that

“I see.”

The lunch was finished in silence after that. You were at home, unsure of what to think of her guess. The rest of the week went on to be normal after that. You continued to have lunch with her. Today however, you couldn’t find her. Coincidentally, it was also the day that result for today’s mock exam came out.

You know Elyan likes somewhere quiet, and the most quiet place you knew was the small garden you found. You quickly jog over to the small garden and there she was, Elyan, in her usual contemplative expression. There was bitterness in her visage, and a tinge of regret. You slowly sat next to her, to make sure she was ok with you being there.

“Elyan, are you ok?”

“No.”

“Well why not?”

“You know why.”

The mock exam had Roberta as the first, and Heraius as the second, then Elyan as third. Considering the massive amount student the academy had and how long the test was, it was a miracle to be even placed in top ten. Though you were just lucky to score on the fifth. To Elyan, you guessed that even being the first would be an average day.

“You can do better, it’s just a mock exam.”

“You don’t understand, I’m the daughter of the Lion!” Elyan said. “But no matter what I do… I can’t just beat them. In studies, sparring, the arts. They’re naturally gifted, I’m not.” Elyan’s hands clenched into fists. “I’m inferior to them in every way.”

>“You’re joking right? Have you seen what you accomplished in this school?”
>“If you keep thinking like that, you’re just making it worse for yourself.”
>“Maybe it’s because you study so much, why not just take a break in between studies?”

I didn't say there was an option for write-in

If there's no ">Write-in" then there isn't a write in option. This was an issue in my other qst too.

On /qst/, write-ins are implicitly taken to always be an option in votes unless there's a logical reason for them not to be. If you don't want people going off script, you will have to explicitly say as such.

“If you keep thinking like that, you’re just making it worse for yourself.”

She looked up at your simple sentence. There was a clear confusion on her end.

“Then what should I do?”

You shrugged.

“I can’t really answer that for you, but it’s best to stop fretting over what you can’t do, and do what you can. If you keep looking at your failures you won’t see anything else.”

“How do I do that?”

“We’ll have to figure that out.”

You reached out your hand. Elyan hesitated at first, but took it.

[Thread 1 End]

Sorry for the abrupt end anons, I'm tired and I have finals coming up soon. I can't find the time to continue Elyan route. I'll come back around June or so. Until then, I'll see you all later. As for Digital Goddess, I'll get that working too.
