Saiyans. Known throughout the universe as the warrior race, their power and combat prowess proved invaluable in the Covenant's downfall. And with the largest threat to the PTO destroyed, their remnants scattered across space, the universe has been united under one banner. Peace reigns across the galaxy, under the rule of Lord Freeza, Emperor of the Universe. But not all wish it to be this way. Remnants of those who were conquered are gathering in the shadows, increasing their power, and plotting their revenge. Despite this newfound age of peace swiftly spreading across the stars, there are those who would seek its end. Will you be able to stop them, or shall the universe once more be plunged into the fires of war?

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest! This story takes place in an alternate timeline within the greater Dragonball EU. You the players control Karn: once an ordinary Saiyan warrior with a meager powerlevel of 2,830 who has risen to become a mighty Berserker Super Saiyan, and so much more. Throughout your many adventures, the “Dragon of New Salda” has grown into the symbol of Saiyan might and power, widely recognized across the universe as Freeza's close friend and confidant, not to mention his right hand man and General of his forces. From humble beginnings on the now long gone Planet Vegeta, Karn has become the pride of his people, and their greatest champion.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

After testing the new underwater fighting suit designed by Daiko then defeating Lin Kuei cyber assassins and saving Vox's life, Karn and his family, accompanied by the Saiyan King Vegeta, traveled to the world of the Crimson Demon Clan. Where his son, Chilli, and his wife Megumin had built their home on the village outskirts, overlooking it from the nearby mountain. Chilli was then called away, defeating a pair of dragons before sitting down with his entire family for a large lunch of dragon meat. But the after meal glow is interrupted, as Chilli's home is attacked by a vengeful goddess. Chilli easily dispatches the goddess' avatar, then he and Karn have a quiet heart-to-heart in Chilli's hidden chamber. Afterwards, Karn and Chilli rejoined the rest of the family, spending another couple hours there on the outskirts of the Crimson Demon Village before heading back home.

But these are the events of over a week ago. After returning home, with Chilli inviting everyone back in another few weeks once he's restocked his freezer full of dragon meat, life returned to normal for Karn and his family. Eating, sleeping, training, and teaching both most of his own children and the next generation of Saiyan warriors fills his time. However, days after returning Chaya'd left back to Dreadzone, and hasn't returned since. She checks in regularly, but knowing what's coming her way you do think she's taking her training a little lightly. But you can't ponder on that, as we rejoin Karn you've received a telepathic message from an unexpected source.

“Karn? I'm in a tight spot, can you lend a hand?” Turles thinks to you out of the blue.
“Turles? What's going on?” you reply, hand immediately going to your forehead. “What happened?”
“Komand'r and I got into it again, and I took the worst of it.” he replies, almost casually. “Mind helping me into a healing pod? I'd rather not be paralyzed for the rest of my life.”
“The hell?” you say aloud, shocked by what you heard. She actually paralyzed him? What the hell could they have been fighting about?

What do you do?
>Instant Transmission to him immediately, then teleport him directly to Doctor White on your ship for the best care on this planet
>Teleport to him then take him to King Vegeta, who has a whole team in his palace
>Call Caulifla over to come with you to help Turles, then the two of you head over to help him out

“Karn? What's goi-?” Meloka starts to ask but you don't hesitate, focusing on Turles' ki and teleporting directly to his side with your Instant Transmission. One second you're standing atop the gravity chamber before your dismissed students, and the next find yourself inside a near-empty, still on gravity chamber with Turles. He has a Komand'r's fist-sized hole in the middle of his chest, bleeding out on the floor, yet the Tamaranean princess is nowhere to be seen. You do see that your friend had tries to crawl from the room, judging by the blood smears leading to a spot a few feet from where he is, but judging from how pale his face is, he doesn't have long left.

“Ah-H-Hey.” he says weakly, looking up and seeing you. “S-Sorry to drag you into...this...”
“Don't talk, save your strength.” you say, immediately kneeling down and placing your left hand on his right shoulder, keeping your fingers to your forehead as you reach out telepathically. “Please tell me you're in the medbay Doc.”
“Karn? Of course I am, what do-?” he starts to ask, you focusing on his ki through the telepathic link and teleporting both yourself and Turles instantly to his side. “-You nee-! Karn!”
“He needs help, now.” you say, reaching down and grabbing him under the armpits to lift
your friend up. Dr. White doesn't hesitate or ask questions, immediately rushing over to the healing pod and opening it. While you gently set your friend inside Dr. White hooks him up to the machine, Turles giving you a weak smile before the good doctor puts the air mask on his face, and the tank's door begins shutting. Turles' head then slumps forward, your friend passing out completely before the fluid begins filling the pod. Dr. White heads over to the monitor, typing away at the keyboard for several seconds before, without looking up, asking you questions.

“What happened?” he asks you, tone not quite accusatory but certainly suspicious.
“He and Komand'r got into an argument, from what I gathered.” you say, the doc looking up at you quizzically for a moment. “He just reached out to me a few seconds before I brought him here.”
“I see.” Dr. White answers, returning to the monitor and continuing his typing. Keys clacking are the only sound besides the low hum of the chamber for several seconds, then the good doctor asks you another question. “Why me?”
“Huh? What do you mean?” you ask him, confused. “You're the best doctor I know. How many times have you patched me up now?”
“Thank you. But not what I mean.” he answers, raising a hard look towards you. The intensity of his gaze actually surprises you, making you want to instinctively take a step back. “Why me, and not your daughter's magic healing?”

Which, is a fair question actually. You had barely even considered taking your daughter along as you'd traveled to Turles' side, and her powers could probably have saved him near-instantly instead of sticking him in a healing pod for at least the rest of today. But you chose to bring him here instead of trusting his life to your daughter, who's proven her healing powers time and time again.

So why?
>Turles needed the rest, and time to recover unconsciously in the healing pod before facing Komand'r again
>Caulifla's seen enough hardship already, and doesn't need to see or get involved with this awful situation
>You hadn't even considered it honestly, and just acted on impulse

"Caulifla's seen enough hardship already and doesn't need to see or get involved with this awful situation." you tell him with a sigh, glancing back over to the now-sleeping Turles. "She's still having a hard time with my old man's passing, so I don't want to burden her with this mess as well. She needs time to sort herself out.”
“Hmmm, time, yes. Cures all wounds, or so they say.” the doctor says, pulling his hands from the keyboard and looking towards you with a worried look in his eyes. “But the heart doesn't heal with time alone.”

“The heart?” you ask him, tilting your head to the side a bit.”What do you mean?”
“Much pain, bloodshed, and agony she has seen.” he tells you. “So much death, far more than anyone her age should ever see. She wears a smile, but not because she's happy. It's a mask.”
“A mask?” you ask, suddenly more worried than you'd been a few moments ago. “What do you mean?”
“When a patient sees their doctor worried, they become more worried and afraid.” he explains to you. “So we hide our true feelings behind a mask. Some look like me, but the kindest of us adopt a smile like your daughter. But such a smile is a burden as well. Smiling in the face of so much horror, pain, and death is difficult, and no doubt weighs heavy on her heart. And if you don't believe me, check the cameras. See how she is when she thinks she's alone. Fifty credits says she hasn't smiled by herself in a long time.”

You can't say anything, and looking down at your hands feel just...Overwhelmed. Chilli and Caulifla, two of your brightest, happiest children are suffering, and you feel powerless to help them. You've taken a good step with your son when you and he were alone in his house, but that's a long way from helping him with what he's going through. And you have no idea what to do with Caulifla. But then it hits you. Of COURSE you don't know what to do. You've never been in her situation before, and have no real idea what it is she's going through. But when you don't know something, you ask someone who does.

“What....What can I do?” you ask, raising your gaze back up to meet Dr. White's. “What-How can I help her? What should I do?”

At this Dr. White smiles, and pushes himself upright out of the chair. He walks over to you, and takes your much larger hand in both of his while looking up to meet your gaze.

“You simply love her, and be there for her.” the doctor tells you softly. “This isn't some monster you can defeat, or a terror that needs vanquishing. She's a child who's seen too much, and I'd wager trying her hardest to appear as strong as her parents. You may not be saints, but the two of you are good parents.”

As he says this you realize that you're not alone, and looking over your shoulder see Meloka standing there with Karn Jr held in her arms. Her expression is unreadable, looking at the two of you with her face a mixture of emotions.

“Meloka?” you ask, confused as to how you hadn't sensed her approach. “When-?”
“I've been here for a bit.” she says, looking over to Turles. “I was wondering what happened, and followed you.”
“Support your daughter, and take care of her.” the good doctor tells you, then to Meloka adds. “She will most likely come to you first, with her worries.”
“I'll take good care of her doc.” Meloka tells him, giving the doctor a shallow nod before turning to you. “What happened to him?”
“Kormand'r.” you say, Meloka's expression darkening. “She put that hole in his chest, and left him in the gravity chamber.”
“That bitch.” Meloka says, your son in her arms looking up at her worriedly as he hears the venom and malice in her voice. “I knew I should have killed her back then.”

"Let's leave it alone for now." you say with a sigh, then turn to Dr. White. “The moment he starts waking up, could you let me know? We have a lot to talk about when he's conscious.”
“Of course. I'll tell you immediately.” he says, returning to his chair. “Anything else?”
“I think that's all for now. Thanks doc.” you say, and with a wave you and Meloka leave the medical bay behind. The automatic door slides shut behind you both with a hiss, Meloka turning to you. “What is it?”
“You're not, you know, just going to let her get away with this, are you?” Meloka asks. “Shouldn't we be telling King Vegeta about this, and handling this through official means?”

“Honestly hun, I don't know.” you say with a tired sigh. “It will all depend on what Turles wants.”
“He almost DIED.” she says, a little heat in her voice. “What else is there to consider?”
“Ticho.” you say, and Meloka's anger evaporates instantly. “If she's doing things like this to him, what about their daughter? Maybe he took that hit for the kid. I don't know what's going on, but rushing in and kicking ass isn't going to make this situation any easier to handle. As much as I want to.”

As you say this you clench your fists, and to your surprise hear your knuckles pop from how tightly they're clenched. So you take a deep breath to refocus, and forcibly calm yourself down. You haven't lost control of your anger for a while now, but that's not because it's been tamed.

“We need to wait for Turles to wake up, and then he can tell us the whole situation.” you say, the two of you walking towards the entrance ramp of your ship. But as you two start walking down it, you get an unexpected guest. Flying down from the air, Ticho lands at the base of your ship's entrance, eyes glowing with her violet power. “Speaking of.”
“Where is he!?” she shouts, you seeing tears streaking down her face as she raises her energy-clad fists up towards the two of you. “Where's my Daddy? What did you do to him?!”

>Tell her that he's resting now, and recovering from what her mother did to him and you can show her if she calms down
“Easy, Ticho. He's resting right now, and recovering from-” you were saying, when suddenly her aura blazes up golden around her.

“HAAAAAA!!” she roars, charging forward with murderous intent. You grab Meloka, and gently push her behind you ans the woman swings, her right fist slamming into your chest. Had you been in your base form, such a blow could have actually hurt. But since you've been working daily on mastering your Ascended Berserker form, you barely even felt it. “HRRYAAAAAA!! HAAA! HAA! HAAA HAAA HAAA HAAA HAAA!!”

She starts swinging her fists over and over wildly, with absolutely no skill as she just unloads on you. But you barely feel it, and seeing the rage in her eyes as she attacks you decide to not stop her. Instead you let her attack you non-stop, and burn out her rage. She wouldn't listen to you as she is right now anyways.

“It's okay hun, just let her be.” you think to your wife as the child roars, furiously swinging with all she's got. “She'll tire out soon enough.”
“RRRAAAAAAA!!” Ticho roars, still swinging with all her might. Fortunately you weren't wearing your armor today, else her barrage of heavy punches would have no doubt shattered it by now. She keeps up the assault for over a minute without slowing down, then you reach out and grab her entire forearms in both hands.
“Alright, I think that's enough.” you say, and the young woman looks up to your eyes with fear. Her anger is burned out, and she realizes just how badly she may have messed up. “Have you calmed down, Ticho?”
“I-Uhh-Y-Yeah...” she answers nervously, her earlier fire mostly gone. You let her go, the woman rubbing her right wrist gingerly.
“He's recovering right now, from what your mother did to him.” you tell her. “If you want to see him, I can lead you to him.”

“I would appreciate that greatly.” she says, bowing at the waist and lowering her head. “And I-I'm sorry.”
“It's no problem, don't worry about it.” you say, turning back up the ramp and heading back inside. “Come on, let's go.”

You lead the young woman, who's even younger than Caulifla inside your ship, and directly towards the medbay while giving Dr. White a telepathic heads up. As you walk through the halls you pass Camali, who Ticho looks at curiously but doesn't say anything as you then walk up to the medbay, the door opening with a pneumatic hiss.

“Daddy...” Ticho says, walking over to the healing pod and peering inside. She then gasps, falling back onto her rear as she no doubt sees the grievous injury he'd sustained. “How could you do this to him?”
“Karn wasn't the one who did this.” Dr. White tells her, the young woman looking over to him confused. “He was busy finishing up training his students when this happened.”
“Wait, it WASN'T you?” she asks, turning around confused. “But Mother said...”

“She lied to you.” Meloka says flatly, barely concealing her rage and contempt for the Tamaranean royal. “That hole in his chest is the size of her fist, after all.”
“N-No way. Mother wouldn't...” the young girl says, looking from Meloka, to Dr. White, to you. “She wouldn't. Would she?”

Ticho looks on the verge of tears, a lost, scared child.

“This might be a bit hard to hear, so let's all take a seat first.” you say, grabbing one of the waiting chairs from the wall and offering it to her. She looks nervous but accepts it, sitting down and facing you nervously. You take a seat across from her, with her father sleeping peacefully in the pod to your left, as Meloka sits in another chair beside you. You resolve to tell her everything, no matter how hard it is to hear. So you start talking, telling her what everything her dad had told you. You watch as her expression turns to shock, then horror as you explain how you found him, and what he'd told you before you brought him here.

“No way.” she says as you finish telling her what happened. The girl looks absolutely shaken, holding herself as she looks over at her dad worriedly. “But...Why? Why would she do this? Why would she try and kill Daddy? I know Mother likes to fight, but I never thought...”
“I have no idea, kiddo.” you say, reaching out and putting your hand on her shoulder consolingly. “I have no idea why she would have done it. But if you want, you're more than welcome to spend the night here with us.”
“Are you sure?” she asks, looking up to you nervously. “You mean it?”
“Of course.” Meloka answers, laying a hand on the half-Tamaranean girl's knee. “We won't turn you-”

“There you are!” Caulifla shouts as the door slides open, revealing your daughter. She's accompanied by your youngest twins, Maz and Kayle, who rush forward excitedly. “Told you I'd find them.”
“Momma! Daddy!” Maz and Kayle shout, rushing into the room directly at both of you. But Caulifla's looking over at Ticho as you catch the twins, walking over with concern.
“Is everything okay?” Caulifla asks her gingerly, not noticing Turles sleeping in the pod nearby. “Were your parents fighting again?”
“Y-Yeah.” Ticho says, trying to recover her composure in front of her friend as you set the twins down. But then Caulifla notices Turles, her eyes widening in surprise. Before she can say anything you lay a hand on both of their shoulders and speak up.
“Ticho's going to be staying with us tonight.” you say, addressing them both. “So how about you take her to the washroom, to wash up before supper?”

“Yeah! C'mon, let's go!” Caulifla says, her smile seeming wide and genuine to you. You don't think it's a mask, like the good doctor was saying, but how sure can you be? Grabbing her friend by the wrist Caulifla almost drags her out of the room, and for just a split-second you can see the other girl smiling almost reluctantly. Yes, being here for the night will no doubt do her some good. As long as nothing else dramatic happens.

Fortunately, nothing else of note or anything out of the ordinary happened. She seemed to recover her spirits quickly, her spirits high by suppertime where Silver served you all something delicious. Her appetite also appeared properly Saiyan-like, the young woman out-eating the older children Tatsu and Tomi. Then after supper they all stayed inside, Caulifla taking her to her room and saying something about time-loot. No doubt letting the troubled younger girl look through her hard-won treasures and take something to raise her spirits. Caulifla really is a thoughtful kid.

As for you, as the two girls run off, what will you do?
>Have Meloka head off to bed now, and you'll stay up later than usual so the two of you can sleep in shifts to watch over the kids tonight. Just in case
>Teleport to Komand'r with Instant Transmission and confront her directly. You're not letting this situation evolve, or rather devolve any further
>Telepathically reach out to King Vegeta, tell him what happened and the actions you've taken, then ask him for help moving forward. This situation could go south fast, and don't want to make his job any harder

While the wait is on, I've gotten to thinking. What was the general consensus on what karn would sound like? I always thought specifically of a more southern 'merican accent. At first because y'know Karn sounds like Corn, so Corn Fed. But it's also simply because I think it fits him alot with how we've characterized him at this point.

I think of a surprisingly kind veteran with extremely intense values of protecting his own, not just his family and friends(though they take a great priority) but also for his people. You hurt one of us, you hurt all of us kinda mentality. Idunno it just works

“Gonna make a quick call.” you tell Meloka, tapping the side of your head. “I think Vegeta needs to know what's happening.”
“Good idea.” she responds, holding the now-sleeping Karn Jr. in her arms as the other kids all run off before heading to bed. You rise up from the table, thank Silver for another excellent meal as always, then head outside where things are a little more quiet, and to watch the sunset.

“Hey, King Vegeta, are you busy? We need to talk.” you think to him, walking down the ramp onto the sandy beach as the sun touches the horizon.
“Karn? Sure, what's going on?” he asks, you sensing his sudden worry through the telepathic link. “What happened?”
“It's about Turles.” you say, and quickly fill him in on everything that's happened today. You can feel his worry grow as you fill him in, and when you tell him you're keeping Ticho at your place, he finally speaks up.
“Understood, don't worry about it.” he says, then adds. “I'll have a few of the Royal Guard standing guard watching over your place tonight, just in case someone tries something. Nobody's getting close to your home without the Guard kicking up a racket.”

“Appreciate it. But what do we do now?” you ask him. “What's the plan going forward?”
“A royal attempting to murder an ambassador would be a dangerous situation, and could lead us into an all-out war with the Tamaraneans.” Vegeta thinks to you seriously. “However, if the official story is 'negligence after a training incident', it could all be explained away, and the situation resolved. Who all knows about this?”
“You, Meloka, Dr. White, and Ticho. Caulifla knows more about this than she should too.” you answer, then add. “And of course you too, Raven. Since I know you're listening in as well.”
“...I wasn't spying.” comes the Guardian's almost-adorably petulant response. Reminding you more of the girl she was years ago than the powerful Guardian she is now.
“Good. Then let's keep it this way.” he answers, you able to sense the smile on his face from Raven speaking up. “Once Turles is awake, let me know. I'll need to speak with him in an official capacity, from King to Ambassador.”

“Understood. I'll let you know when he wakes up.” you tell him. “But, what if-”
“Hey, you!” a woman calls, you looking up and seeing her floating above your home. She's here, almost as if this situation was conjured by your own thoughts: Komand'r has arrived.

General Karn. I hadn't taken you to be the type to stare at the sunset." she says, floating down a little closer. "You wouldn't happen to know where my daughter's run off to, would you?”

You can feel her glare from the air and can clearly tell she's not in a good mood. Her eyes and fists are glowing with her violet power and looks one moment from flying off the handle and attacking. Unlike her daughter, if she goes off it'll be a much more serious situation.

But what do you do?
>Tell her you haven't seen her, and ask Komand'r how Turles is doing to see how she reacts
>Say she was playing with your other kids earlier, but you haven't seen her since supper Which is entirely true, just not ALL of the truth
>Telepathically ask King Vegeta what you should do, after telling her she's here in front of you
>Just lie to her, and say you last saw her back near the opening of the M'lurnian ruins and probably snuck in and got lost or something
>Tell her a partial truth, and that she came over wanting to spend the night with your daughter Caulifla

The next best approach (if Vegeta doesn't himself suggest this) is to tell Komand'r the truth/plan - that to avoid a war between our species, we're going to officially play off her attack on Turles as a training accident. Tell her that Ticho is upset about the situation, and is staying the night here with her friend (Caulifla) and father. Tell her to leave the situation be, and be grateful that it is being handled this calmly.

"Shit, she's here." you think to your king before responding to her aloud. "What should I say?"
"The truth. At least, some of it." he answers immediately as you sense his own panic. "Tell her that she came to spend time with your daughter or something, and planned on spending the night. Don't mention Turles at all.”
“Got it.” you reply to him, then address Komand'r directly. “Evening. Your daughter met up with mine earlier, and was wanting to have a sleepover here. Figured she'd already gotten the okay from you, so I let her.”

“Oh, I see.” she answers, eyes narrowing a bit. She doesn't seem to fully believe you, but also isn't certain. “This is the first I'm hearing of it.”
“Oh, she hadn't told you?” you ask, trying your best to keep your voice casual. “When I head inside, I'll tell her to ask permission from you first. Is there something else you needed?”

You can tell from her body language that she's ready to strike, like a coiled viper, but is also still wary of you. No doubt due to what happened at the arena when she tried attacking you. Back then you were on camera, and actively working to not have any sort of 'incident' on Vox's cameras. But there aren't any of them around right now, and she's uncertain.

“Tell her that if she needs anything, to head my way.” Vegeta suddenly adds in your mind. “And that any requests from a foreign dignitary should be handled officially, with formal complaints to let me handle it and keep everyone out of trouble. Last thing anyone wants is another war so soon, right?”
“Devious. I like it.” you reply to him with a thought, and then address her directly once more. “King Vegeta just told me that, if anything's wrong, you should visit with him and make a formal complaint. He can handle it, and keep everyone out of trouble. I'm sure you're not looking to fight another war so soon, right?”

At 'war' her entire body stiffens, and for just a split-second see panic in her eyes. Komand'r may be a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them. She may be a dangerously intelligent and cutthroat woman who'll do what it takes to win, but knows when it's time to retreat and form a new plan. Looking down on you, her expression suddenly changes, a shark-like grin on her face.

“You're a dangerous man, General Karn.” she says, mocking your title once again. “I should have kept you all for myself, back when we first met.”
“You couldn't handle him.” Meloka says, both you and Komand'r turning to see Meloka standing at the base of your ship's ramp. “But if you want me to beat your ass to within an inch of your life, then let's go bitch.”

And as she finishes speaking, your wife lifts into the air, drawing level with the Tamaranean princess, and with a roar unleashes her full power. This can't end well.

Your wife's golden aura blazes wildly around her, blasting the Tamaranean princess back as your wife quickly gathers her ki into her hands. Raising them both up over her head and combining the energy, she then lowers her arms down on both sides, unleashing her ki as a few, then a dozen, then a few dozen, to over a score of her Warding Eyes as her aura keeps expanding, and fading. Instead of blazing up around her body, your wife's aura now expands for a couple dozen yards, the Warding Eyes all orbiting her on different paths in this space. Meloka raises her arms into a defensive stance as she glares at Komand'r.

“Bring it.” your wife says, voice eerily calm as she glares at the Tamaranean with absolute hate in her eyes. Her voice, more gravely and deep due to being in Super Saiyan 3 makes her sound even more intimidating, and Komand'r seems stunned by what's going on. She's clearly trying to track all of Meloka's Warding Eyes without taking her eyes from her, and failing. You can read her uncertainty in her body language, the previously oh-so-confident princess is now almost frozen in panic. Your wife notices this, and begins taunting her. “What's the matter? Scared of a 'tiny, half-sized Saiyan'?”

At this Komand'r grits her teeth, and her own violet aura starts blazing once more. The Tamaranean royal once again begins gathering her purple aura into her fists, the energy in her eyes blazing wildly as she seemingly prepares to fight Meloka. You don't doubt that Komand'r is a dangerous woman, but compared to your wife? Would be like comparing a forest fire to the entire planet exploding. She doesn't stand a chance if they come to blows.

But will you let them? There's still time to stop this, if you're quick and daring enough.

Well? What do you do?
>Quietly stay where you are and just watch the show, while keeping King Vegeta updated as the situation unfolds
>Tell Komand'r that she'd better leave, as you doubt that you could stop your wife as upset as she seems to be now

"You know, I think you'd better leave." you call up to the women, Komand'r glancing down at you. “I doubt that I could stop my wife now, she seems to be rather upset with you.”
“That-! You-!” Komand'r says, voice strained, but Meloka doesn't move. She remains perfectly still, like a rock in a hurricane as her Warding Eyes circle her.
“C'mon, try something. I dare you.” Meloka says threateningly, drifting a little closer to the Tamaranean princess. Your wife's unblinking glare quickly unnerves Komand'r, who averts her gaze after a few seconds. “What, too scared to try me?”

“I'm not in the mood for this.” Komand'r says, turning tail and actually fleeing without another word. She flies off, and as she goes your wife seems almost disappointed she didn't get to take her on again. With a sigh and a snap of her fingers, the score of Warding Eyes all vanish instantly, your wife floating back down to your side.
“Really wanted to kick her ass again, too.” Meloka says, almost poutingly. “Oh well.”
“Karn, what happened?” King Vegeta thinks to you, his worry greater than it was before. “What did Meloka do?”

You tap the side of your head, Meloka nodding as you bring her up to speed verbally while she telepathically links up to you.

“All I did was scare her a bit, I didn't even get one attack in.” your wife tells him. “She was too cowardly to try anything against me.”
“At least it's over for now.” he replies. “Karn, stick to the plan, and I'll be over there in the morning.”
“Yes sir.” you reply telepathically, Meloka mirroring your agreement.
“Rest well, both of you.” he then says, his mind feeling tired. “I have a feeling tomorrow's going to be a long day.”

After saying your farewells to King Vegeta, you and Meloka decide to turn in a bit early for the night. The two of you settle into bed, but despite everything that's happened sleep comes almost immediately. You're out probably less than two minutes after your head hits the pillow, and your sleep is deep and dreamless. Then after what feels only a minute or two to you, you feel your eyes opening.

Waking up, you decide to sneak out of bed, and check in on Turles. With your telekinesis you lift Meloka and Karn Jr off you your arm, and slip out of bed. Setting them back down you quickly pull on one of your training uniforms, and without bothering to put your gloves or boots on head out of the room. The door slides shut behind you with a pneumatic hiss, you padding silently across the metal floors and head towards the medbay. Then, to your surprise, you sense something. Freezing in place, you immediately expand your ki sense to try and discover anyone spying on you. You don't sense anyone immediately, aside from your wife, the kids, and your crew all sleeping peacefully aboard, but that sensation remains. Something's watching you.

“Another metal assassin, huh? Alright, I have the solution for you.” you think to yourself, then reach out telepathically. “Hey, Silver. You up?”
“Karn? I am, what's going on?” he asks, immediately worried.
“Something's tailing me, and they don't have any ki I can sense.” you reply to him telepathically. “So I'm going to draw them into the mess hall, can you have a trap ready to catch whatever's tailing me?”
“Of course. Give me twenty seconds.” he replies, ending the telepathic link. And with your 'plan' decided, start making your way to the mess hall. You walk slowly down the hallway, your steps silent on the metal floor as you move with purpose. You don't even bother to keep your head on a swivel, as whatever stealth tech the Sangheili have is basically invisible anyways. Instead you focus your ki, hardening it into your Energy Body around you and stride forward without worry.

“I'm here.” you say to Silver telepathically, and walk up to the door. It slides open with a hiss, and you suppress the urge to look around and try to see the trap, instead confidently walking through. You see Silver sitting in his usual spot, but his 'son' Jim is nowhere to be seen, and start walking towards him. And once you're out of the door censor's range, you hear it beginning to slide shut. Then a woman's shocked scream sounds out and is cut off midway, you whirling back around to face the doorway. And what you see is surprising, none other than Ticho is held trapped just inside the door. Mercurial tentacles have her bound in place, trapping her arms, legs, tail, and wrapping around her mouth. Her eyes are wide with panic, you looking absolutely dumbstruck. “Ticho? The hell?”
“MMMRRRRRR!!” she tries to scream through the makeshift gag, and despite her power is unable to break free from that magical grip.

“You know her?” Silver asks, you turning and nodding to him. The older man sighs, snapping his fingers. And as if on cue, Jim releases her, reforming into his more 'people-like' appearance standing beside her.
“GAAAAH! What was that for?!” she asks, pointing a finger in Jim's face.
“Here's a better question: why were you skulking around?” you ask, Turles' daughter's face blushing a bit. “What were you up to?”
“Umm, well...” she says, then reaches down and draws something out of her sash around her waist. “I stole this from Mother, and it lets me do this.”

And to your shock, she presses a button and simply vanishes!

“What?” you say, shocked by this. After a second she reappears, looking a little nervous but also grinning. “Is that-?”
“She said it was the special tech from those Yautja guys who showed up that one time, and it's how they were able to turn invisible.” she says, then adds a bit sheepishly. “Soooo..... I kinda took it. And have been using it to sneak outta the house, especially when she and Daddy fight.”

Neither you nor Silver know what to say to this, the two of you exchanging a look. His expression says 'This is your problem, not mine', and turns to her.

“Sorry about that.” Silver says, Jim walking back over to him as the two head back into the kitchen. Leaving you and Ticho alone.
“How did you know I was there?” she asks you, face curious. “I learned how to suppress my energy so Mother can't find me, and can turn invisible. I didn't even make a sound this time! So how did you know I was following you?”

Well? What do you tell her?
>Tell her about how you're somehow able to sense those trying to sneak around you

"If people could sneak up on me, I'd be long, long dead kiddo." you say with a laugh, reaching out to ruffle her hair like you do with your own kids. And to your shock, she flinches back away from you! Her reaction freezes you in your tracks, then slowly you lower your arm. “I'll tell you though, you're not half bad at it.”
“Oh, th-thank you.” she says, cheeks a little red at the compliment after flinching back from you. She's clearly dealing with a lot more living under the same roof as Komand'r than you were expecting, which makes you worry for Turles even more. What the hell has been going on?
“Hey, I was just going to check up on your dad, before I sensed you sneaking around.” you say, offering your hand to her. “Want to come along?”

She looks nervously from your hand to your face for several silent moments, her indecision clear on her face. But after a moment confidently takes your hand.

“That was where I was hoping you were going.” she says, shivering a bit as the two of you head out the door. It closes behind you without incident, you telepathically thanking Silver for his help as you lead her the short walk to the medical bay. The doors slide open with a hiss, and the young half-Tamaranean lets go of your hand as she rushes over to the healing pod holding her father.
“Ah, General Karn. Good morning.” Dr. White says, the older doctor sitting behind his desk as usual. “I hadn't expected you to be awake before the patient.”

Then he glances over at Ticho, who's gazing at her dad's sleeping face a moment before turning back to you.

“He should still be out for another hour, or two at most.” Dr. White continues, raising his voice enough for Ticho to hear as well. “His injury was grievous, but his body has made a full recovery, and there haven't been any complications to speak of.”
“That's good to hear.” you reply, then Ticho shouts over you both: “DADDY! You're awake!”

Both you and Dr. White turn, and hear the sound of the interior release being pulled. The healing fluids all begin draining away, you and the doctor sharing a look. You can see the worry flash across his face, but then dutifully walks to a storage container by the pods, and begins pulling out a standard size training suit then setting it all on the edge of his desk. The pod's door begins swinging open, and before it's even fully open Ticho lunges.

“DADDY!”

“Ooooff, h-hey princess.” Turles says, gingerly hugging her to him as the door continues opening. Dr. White approaches, and starts disconnecting the man from the machine. As well as she can, because Ticho's clutching her father close and not letting go. “Wh-Who are you?”
“Turles, Dr. White. Dr. White, Turles.” you say, stepping forward into his field of vision. “Glad to see you're awake.”
“Karn?” he asks, looking surprised. “What's going on?”
“You've been out since yesterday afternoon.” Dr. White tells him as Ticho lets him go, allowing the doctor to finish disconnecting him from the healing pod. “Your chest injury was life-threatening, but you've healed faster than I expected. I was expecting you to still be unconscious for another hour or two.”
“I'm rather confident in my healing.” Turles says with a wry smile, but you can see the pain in his eyes. “After all, I've had a lot of practice.”

Ticho doesn't react to this sentence, but you and Dr. White exchange worried glances. His expression is dark, the old doctor looking genuinely angry for the first time. He turns and heads back to the other end of the room, and you turn from Turles and Ticho to have a few moments alone while you focus, reaching out telepathically.

“King Vegeta, he's awake.” you think, sensing the king's mind immediately. “Turles is finally conscious.”
“I'll be right over.” he replies. “Don't let him leave.”
“Understood.” you reply, then ending the mental link address Turles directly. “Turles, we need to talk.”
“Sure?” he asks, looking up to you curiously as he climbs out of the healing pod, holding his young daughter to him. “What's going on?”
“King Vegeta's on his way, you should get dressed first.” you say, Turles' expression immediately becoming more serious. But he doesn't argue or talk back, immediately putting Ticho down despite her protests and dresses quickly. Putting on the training suit, he then looks around confused.
“Where's my armor?” he asks you, to which you look over at Dr. White. Who produces it from behind his desk, with the giant hole straight through the middle. “....Oh. Never mind, then.”

You sense King Vegeta's approach, his aura blazing as it rapidly approaches, but he's not alone. You sense Nappa and Emilia with him, as well as several of the Royal Guard. But, with them you also sense her. Komand'r. A second after you sense her, Turles does as well, his body stiffening as he freezes in place. Ticho clutches to his leg, her grip tightening on the fabric as well. Looks like they can both sense her approach as well. He whispers something to his daughter, who nods once then vanishes as he turns around to face you.

“Let's get this over with.” he says, taking a deep breath and trying to exude confidence. But you can tell he's worried, and you can't help but wonder if this was the right call to make?

I won't lie, the writing was on the wall, but I really didn't expect things with Turles and Blackfire to come to a head so soon.
It's really a shame though, their marriage is probably one of the cornerstones of diplomatic dealings between the Saiyans and the Tamaraneans.

Five minutes, tops. Unexist Blackfire with extreme prejudice and delete the Tamaranean homeworld. Quick jaunt.

Teddy Roosevelt may have coined the term "Gunboat Diplomacy", but I think that right there exemplifies it.
Really, could the Tamaraneans even stop Karn from destroying their home planet outright once he's inside its atmosphere?

>Really, could the Tamaraneans even stop Karn from destroying their home planet outright once he's inside its atmosphere?
No, but how would Ticho, Raven, Turles and Caulifla feel about this?
>>
>>5251315
Turles probably would feel a little bad for five minutes. Raven would be upset at the fact that violence was used in such scale, but would hold no love for whom it was used upon. We all know exactly how Cauli would feel. As for Tiche I guess it depends on whether or not she's even allowed out of the house enough to know what her people are even like. She could be totally detached from them because of her mother's influence. Who knows.

I'd be worried more about what our best buddy thinks about it. His property, after all.

Raw strength is important, but when you're dead even, it becomes a contest of skill, strategy, or stamina.
I'm pretty sure Bardock still has him beat on at least 2 of those 3.
Also...when did Bardock achieve his Primal form? Is he gonna work on mastering it right away?
>>
>>5253028
Turles realized why you spend so much time with your own family.
>a contest of skill, strategy, or stamina.
You’re forgetting the traits that have pulled Karn through time and time again: pain tolerance and determination. In this moment Turles’ tolerance and stamina, as well as straight up defense are higher than yours. Energy Body not included.
A while back. But unlike King Vegeta, he didn’t immediately challenge you. He learned his lesson with Super Saiyan 3.
>>
>>5253618
Being able to endure and persevere are all well and good, but that doesn't mean much if he can't seal the deal when the opportunity presents itself.
Karn is known for being able to punch above his weight class, but can Turles say the same?
>>
>>5253762
>Karn is known for being able to punch above his weight class, but can Turles say the same?
No. But you misinterpreted what I said. Go back to the powerlevels and compare base Turles and base Karn. Turles’ whole fighting strategy has evolved to extreme endurance. He will withstand whatever punishment you dish out, let you swing until you’re too exhausted to keep fighting, then shank you to death while you’re exhausted so you die tired.
>>
>>5254013
>He isn't even a quarter as strong as Karn
>Yet his base defensive value is greater than Karn's
Okay, I think I'm getting a better picture of his gimmick now.
That also raises the question of just how bad Blackfire's rampages really are if he's this sturdy.

QM UPDATE

So I’ll be doing something a little different for the patron-commission art this month. Instead of a commissioned picture(speaking of which the Broly piece is days from completion at most), I’ll be doing a patron-exclusive extra epilogue the patrons can vote for instead! So that poll will be going up later tonight and will be live for a week, look forward to it. In the meantime, this week’s intermission will be from a different perspective, and we’ll get to see how Megumin is enjoying her married life now. That’ll be up tomorrow evening, if all goes well.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 174 Intermission-

AGE 750, CRIMSON DEMON VILLAGE

Someone was creating an explosion outside your home, and it wasn't you. The crystalline walls of your home shone bright for a few seconds, then the light faded and the magical walls returned to their current, soft amber evening glow as the sun sets. You look up to your husband who sighs out, the annoyance clear on his face as he rises from the table.

“C'mon hun, can't you just ignore her for today?” you ask him, Chilli shaking his head as he summons the ancient death tome. “Won't she just leave, like Yunyun, if we ignore her for long enough?”
“She might find a weakness to our home I don't know about, and if she does, you could be in danger.” he replies, stopping at your side and giving you a gentle hug. You feel his loving embrace and lean into it, closing your eyes as you feel his impossibly powerful arms gently caressing you. Your name is Megumin: greatest archmage of the Crimson Demon clan, wife of the Saiyan warrior and archwizard Chilli, and the one who will one day fully master Explosion magic. “So I'd better take care of her before she causes any damage.”

“Alright, but you better hurry back.” you reply as he pulls back, ready to go to war with yet another avatar of that stupid goddess Zenarith. Ever since Chilli finished off that goddess's sister's last follower, and erased her from existence, her sister had been sending avatars of herself at your husband almost daily to try and get revenge. Even when his family had come to visit that stupid goddess had refused to leave you all alone, and attacked your home while they were eating dinner. Chilli heads over to the stairs, and starts running up them as you turn back to your food. “If you take too long, your food will get cold!”

He doesn't reply, sprinting up to the roof and leaping from it. You watch as he flies down, hair all golden and shiny as he blazes down without hesitation, and drives his right elbow into her face with enough force that her head explodes! The avatar body quickly disentigrates, falling into silvery motes of light as he blazes right back towards the roof. A few quiet seconds go by, where the only noises are your fork and knife on your plate as you cut your vegetables, then you hear your husband coming quickly down the steps.

“Sorry about that.” he replies, sitting back in his seat to your left at the head of the table. He isn't even breathing hard, picking up his knife and fork again and starts eating like nothing happened. “So, what were you saying about the shop?”

“Oh, right.” you reply, remembering what you had been talking about before. “My dad just sold a bunch of your Shield Orbs to that guy with the mask, what was his name again...? Vanir, that's it!”
“Oh, Vanir was in town today?” your husband asks, looking curious. “He was interested in them?”
“Yeah, he bought ALL of them!” your wife says excitedly. “More than three dozen of them! And he didn't even haggle! He said they were selling really well to the beginner adventurers in Axel, especially those taking on quests that could be dangerous for their level of experience. He also said next time you're in Axel he wants to talk about selling them in his store.”

“That sounds great, I'll make another couple dozen tonight before we go to bed, and take them over tomorrow.” he replies, you seeing a small smile on his face that even reaches his eyes as he tries to focus back on his food. Seeing him genuinely happy that his work is appreciated warms your heart, making it beat a little faster as you look at his cute face. But then he looks up, mid-bite, and asks, “What about your Explosion Orbs? Did Vanir want those as well?”
“No, he was too scared to pick them up.” you reply with a proud smile. “Even a former General of the Demon King and a high-ranking foresight devil is afraid of my power.”
“Haha, you do know how to absolutely obliterate something, my magic can't compete against your awesome destruction.” he says good-naturedly, and hearing him compliment you so genuinely feel your cheeks blush a little more. You devoted your life to your Explosion magic, and to have your husband acknowledge it so enthusiastically makes your heart all fluttery.

The rest of your dinner goes by in companionable silence, the two of you finishing your meals then cleaning the dishes and utensils off together before putting them away. Once done you take them and put the dishes away, you head up with your husband to the workshop.

“If you need anything hun, let me know.” you tell him as he starts gathering more of the enchanted glass, you heading to the stairs. “I'm gonna go watch the sunset.”
“Have fun.” he says absently, turning towards the cabinet. “Now where did I leave the stoppers?”

Leaving him to his work, you head up to the roof and let him work in peace. Taking a deep breath of the fresh evening air, you turn towards the sunset to take it in. But as you do, you notice movement down below. Focusing on the movement, you then see something horrific: the Demon King's forces are approaching! Tens of thousands of demonic creatures are approaching! You watch as they all rush closer and closer to Crimson Demon territory, and know that any minute now the town's magic alarms will start going off. Unless you act first.

“My name is Megumin! Foremost archwizard among the Crimson Demons, and wielder of Explosion magic! ” you proclaim proudly, and despite your staff and stylish archwizard hat both being inside, you don't hesitate to begin gathering your magical power. The staff makes casting easier, but isn't entirely necessary for you to cast your spell. For more complicated, intricate spells, a staff would be necessary. But your spell doesn't need the crutch others rely on, especially standing here atop your home. Chilli had somehow designed it to conduct the planet's own power, drawing in up from beneath the surface when one begins gathering their magic to cast a spell. And you can feel it, the mana surging up into you from the planet's very core. “My deep crimson, combine with the fury hidden within the earth, and unleash your wrath on these transgressors! Release the restraints that bind the wrath of this world hidden beneath the surface, and let myself become it's vessel. Burst forth! EXPLOOOOOSION!!”

KABOOOOOM

Your burn the majority of your mana as your spell bursts forth, detonating directly in the middle of the approaching horde. Your Explosion bursts forth with unstoppable power, consuming the vast majority of the approaching army in an instant. You waver for a moment, feeling a bit weak in the knees at using the majority of your magic all at once, the feeling nostalgic as you remember back to when a single Explosion would render you limp and helpless on the ground. But you've grown as an archwizard since then, thanks in no small part to your husband's influence. You keep your footing as the remnants of the approaching army are sent into chaos, immediately retreating back towards their dark lands.

“And stay gone!” you taunt the deceased monsters, then a moment later your husband calls up to you.
“Everything okay?” he asks, you looking over the retreating demons one more time to make sure no more are approaching before heading back down the stairs. “What did you just erase?”
“Another army was sent from the Demon King, but I sent them packing.” you say casually, walking up behind him as he works. “The tower's design works too! My Explosion today was a lot more powerful than usual up here.”
“Glad to hear it works for you too.” he replies, you watching as the interior of the glass he was holding quickly becomes translucent as it fills it with his crystal magic. He then stoppers it with the enchanted seal, and sets it into the small crate alongside several others. “And that's five. I'll be done in a few more minutes, if you wouldn't mind getting the bath ready?”

“Sure, just don't take too long.” you reply, kissing the top of his head before turning towards the staircase and heading downstairs. You head all the way down to the first floor, and begin scooping bucket after bucket of water from the well up into the tub. It's not as high-tech as you've had at his home, or even in the larger cities here on your own planet, but it brings you back to your childhood. And grabbing a few buckets of water isn't exactly a difficult chore.

Filling the tub built into the floor only takes you a minute, two at most, and heating it up only takes a matter of seconds by channeling a bit of magic into the enchanted heater. It rapidly heats the tub, raising the water temperature high enough for it to start steaming.

“Perfect.” you say, tossing your cloak off. But as you're about to strip down to get in, you glance over and see that, other than the portcullis keeping anyone visiting out, you'd still be visible. So you walk over, and focusing your power into your wedding ring press it to the solid door. The thick crystal door swings shut silently, you turning from it back to the bath. When Chilli had shown you that he'd not only made your home a veritable fortress, but also had given you control of it with your crystal wedding ring, you'd fallen even more in love with him than before. When he'd first started building a house out of crystal, you'd quietly been worried he could leave you trapped inside if something terrible ever happened to him. But he's always thinking ahead, planning for every eventuality. 'Not getting caught unprepared ever again', as he'd put it.

“Ahhhhhhhh.” you sigh out as you climb into the tub, the heat immediately relaxing your muscles. “That feels nice.”
“Room for one more?” he asks, you turning to see him walking down the stairs already topless. And he looks as fit and defined as ever, his body made of pure alien muscle as he finishes stripping down, and climbs in with you. Your tub is wide enough for both of you to bathe comfortably, but as he gets in you climb into his lap, straddling him. He smiles, you leaning in for a kiss, and he meets you halfway passionately. After separating you both wash each other off, scrubbing every inch of each other before getting out. He then hugs you, and he flares up his aura which blasts the water off of both of you. “Alright, let's get to bed.”
“S-Sure.” you say with a tired yawn, the warm bath after using most of your magic power making you feel rather sleepy. He then surprises you by sweeping you up off your feet, and carrying you towards the stairs. “Ah-Hey!”

“Do you want me to put you down?” he asks, stopping and looking concernedly into your eyes. This young man, who could wade through an army of the undead without flinching is frozen at what you said, looking actually worried. His care for you warms your heart even more than the bath did, you leaning up and kissing him again.
“Never.” you say with a smile, your husband smiling back as you're carried up to your bed. Once in your bedroom, with you in his arms, he floats down into the mess of blankets and pillows you affectionately refer to as your love nest, and the two of you settle in for the night. “I love you Chilli.”
“Love you Megumin.” he says, the two of you sharing another kiss before he begins turning down the ambient lighting of the crystals. “Sleep good.”

“You too.” you say, snuggled up to his side with your head resting on his right shoulder. And the last sight you see before falling asleep is his handsome face, eyes shut but still a smile on his face. But this happy mood wasn't destined to last. Some time later, long after you'd fallen asleep, you feel yourself being awoken by movement around you. Opening your eyes groggily, it takes your still kind of asleep brain a few moments to process what you're seeing. Chilli's head is shaking violently back and forth, your husband muttering something in his sleep. Looks like he's having another of his nightmares. “Chilli....”

Your husband had told you what had happened to him, in pretty graphic detail, a few days later after you'd woken him up from a violent nightmare. He'd been moving in his sleep, body thrashing as he'd relived that horrific trauma and couldn't escape. And it seems like tonight's another one of those nights, you getting clear and out of the bed as his hair begins changing from black to the iconic gold of his family's Super Saiyan power. You're no match for him physically on a normal day, even when he's just playing and being very gentle with you. But while he's unconscious, and a Super Saiyan on top of that? He could kill you, like he almost did that first night after what happened. He'd only broken your arm, and his sister was there immediately to fix it, but your then-fiance had been incredibly worried about what happened. So every night before bed, you had a glass of water nearby to throw at him. You scramble over the loose pillows over to it as your husband's golden glow intensifies, aura blazing up around him as sparks begin dancing along his body.

"Sorry Chi.” you mutter, holding the cold water, and then pitch it directly at his face. The two of you had experimented since coming here with ways to wake him up, and despite all the fancy magic your mother could wield, nothing quite compared to a splash of cold water to the face. So you sling the water at him, it splashing right across his chest and face. The effects are immediate, his eyes snap open as his chest is heaving, your husband immediately levitating a couple feet off the ground and looking around wildly, ready for a fight.

“Show yo-Megu?” he asks, then sighs out immediately as understanding washes over him. He seems to deflate a bit, powering back down and floating over to you and wrapping you in his arms. “Sorry.”
“You don't have anything to be sorry about.” you reply, returning his hug with as much force as you can muster while burying your face in his shoulder. After a few seconds you pull your face back, and meet his worried gaze with a smile. “C'mon, let's go back to sleep.”
“I will, in a bit.” he says, you recognizing the look in his eyes. He's clearly upset it happened again, even after all that effort he'd spent with that succubus to try and control his dreams. Again you wonder if that devourer of men is just trying to soften him up to eat him, but after sneaking and listening in on one of their sessions at the town mixed bath, you know she isn't doing any such thing. In fact, she only tried bringing up lewd subjects one time, and your husband had immediately shut her down and refocused on the lesson. “I'm going to head upstairs for a bit, and try to clear my head.”

“Alright, but don't take too long.” you reply then teasingly hold the now-empty glass up. “Or the next one will be even colder, right down your back.”
“Haha, I wouldn't dare.” he replies, your husband kissing you and holding you a little closer to himself for several seconds before letting go. He then briskly heads up the stairs, leaving you all alone in the bedroom.
“Is this really all I can do?” you murmur, crawling back into the bed and taking the now-soaked pillow and throwing it up and out of the bed, it landing on the stairs and softly rolling down them. You'll clean it up and dry it proper tomorrow, you're too tired tonight. But as you pull the warm, thick blanket back over you, your bed feels awfully empty. You've grown too used to sleeping on his chest and arm, and without him here your bed just isn't right. You lay there, minutes ticking by in silence as you wait for him to come back down, but he doesn't show up. Even after what feels like an hour, you're still laying all alone in your bed. "What is he doing? Isn't he coming back to bed?"

You decide to find out what Chilli's doing, and crawl up and out of your bed. But it's colder than you'd realized, so you grab one of the smaller blankets and wrap it around yourself before heading upstairs. Your footsteps are silent up the crystal steps, but you hear Chilli muttering angrily to himself. And you find yourself hesitating. But you made a vow, and a Crimson Demon keeps her word, no matter what. 'In sickness and in health' means something to you, after all. So you keep sneaking up the stairs quietly, and as you approach the top you peek up the stairwell to see what he's doing. And bring your hand over your mouth so he doesn't hear you, and so you don't disturb what he's working on.

“This time. This time it'll work.” he mutters, you seeing the energies of light and darkness held in opposite hands. You see another one of the opened glass bottles held on a small crystal pillar he'd erected in the middle of the room, raising his energies overhead. “Chaos Magic: Chaos Barrier!”

Then he throws both arms down, immediately channeling both opposite magical energies directly into the enchanted glass container. You watch with baited breath as he channels his energy, hoping that this time his special Chaos Barrier spell will be successfully stored into the container. You know he's been working on it for so long, but it hasn't worked even once yet. Maybe this will be the one?

“D-Dammit!” you hear Chilli shout, immediately blazing back up to his golden transformed state and crossing his arms in front of his face.

KABOOOM

The enchanted glass, filled with the opposing forces suddenly explodes, glass flying every which way as he tries to shield himself. You duck your head and avoid any debris from the explosion, and once the sounds of bouncing glass stop you peek back up to see that your husband is fine. Well, at least physically. His shoulders slump as he sighs out in defeat, looking at the sight of his latest failure before looking to his hands.

“What am I doing wrong?” you hear him mutter, his self-doubt stabbing you right in the heart. Chilli's such a kind and smart guy, it hurts to see him beat himself up trying to do what others would call impossible. So as he stares at his hands dejectedly, you decide to sneak up on him and give him a comforting hug. Which goes fine as you walk up the steps, but on your first step into the room itself disaster strikes! You step on a piece of sharp glass, it slicing right into the pad of your foot!

“Gaaah?!” you exclaim, immediately lifting your foot high. Which throws you off balance, falling backwards towards the staircase. “Waaaa-! Huh?”

“Gotcha.” Chilli says, your husband having covered the distance faster than you can blink and catching you. “You okay?”
“Y-Yeah.” you say after a startled second, hands going towards your foot as you pull it up to where you can see it. And there it is, part of the bottle still protruding from your skin and quickly being stained red with blood. “Ow. So much for that plan.”
“C'mon, let's get this cleaned up.” he says, and holding you gingerly flies, not walks, down the stairs to the first floor, where some basic medical supplies are stored.

You hold your foot still as he works, gritting your teeth as he pulls the shard from you and cleans the injury before handing you what looks like an ordinary dagger. But you can sense that it's far from normal, it radiating with surprising magical energy.

“What's that?” you ask, having not seen such a thing. When did he pick that up? “Going to make that cut a friend?”
“What? No, no, this was from my sister Cauli.” he says, a small smile coming to his face. “She'd said that she wouldn't always be here, and gave me this. Said that just holding it would heal basic cuts and bruises in a few seconds, but bigger injuries would take a lot longer, and may not work before they bled out.”
“Let's try it out.” you say, taking the offered weapon. And sure enough, the moment your hand wraps around the hilt you feel magic flowing into you. It surges directly to the largest wound, which is your opened foot, and sure enough after a minute the injury is sealed back up, looking like it was something you'd just naturally healed from over the course of a week or so. “Wow. She's always so thoughtful, and finds the most interesting things.”

“Yeah.” he replies, his smile dimming a bit for a moment before shaking his head. “I think that's enough fun for one night, want to head back to bed?”
“Only if you stay this time.” you reply teasingly, kissing your husband as he carries you back upstairs. Chilli may not have been the 'man of your dreams' when you were younger, but that's only because you couldn't have imagined someone like him ever existing, even in your wildest dreams. And as you drift off to sleep, the last thing you see is his smile as he's sleeping peacefully. You'll do whatever it takes to protect that smile.

Here we are, 24 hours before this episode continues. Are you ready to face Komand’r in an arena that heavily favors her?
>>
>>5256623
>You'll do whatever it takes to protect that smile.

He's in great hands... Thank you Megumin.

>>5257234
You bet your fuckin sweet BIPPY I am.
>>
>>5257234
>Are you ready to face Komand’r in an arena that heavily favors her?
Is she ready to eat shit in front of billions?
>>
>>5257234
Her ability to politic may be great, but just like trying to play chess with a pidgeon we are going to shit all over the play space.

Unless you mean in like an actual fight. In which case bruh.
>>
>>5257277
They’re both treasures, in their own ways. And I’m just glad someone said anything about the epilogue, was starting to think I’d seriously miswrote something.
>>5257301
>in front of billions
She already did that. No, this time she’ll have the advantage. As you could potentially handicap Vegeta’s negotiations.
>>5257443
And that’s why King Vegeta is the one politicking, and you’re there as a witness. The name “General Karn, the Dragon of New Salda” holds incredible weight in the PTO, and outside of it too.
She’s not planning on fighting you. But humiliating you the way you did to her weeks ago.
>>
>>5257459
Wow so she really is just a dum dum whose running on spite here.

Even if she drags Karn through the mud it doesn't change nearly anything. Karn wouldn't really give a shit if people mocked him. Karn's ability to annihilate half the universe wouldn't go away. The PTO's ability to actually project force doesn't change.

Like all it would do is soothe her ego. Even if it made it look like allying or serving the PTO isn't as good a deal as everyone makes it out to be it would still be the correct choice from a logical and pragmatic standpoint.

Maybe there's more to her endgame that I can't see because I am as blunt as a baseball.
>>
>>5257459
Isn't Karn technically 2nd in command of the entire pto, even though he has no aspirations for such?
>>
>>5257537
2nd might go to Cooler. we are also below Vegeta. so at best we are 4th although I think we are probably a lot lower than that. Karn is "only a general"
>>
>>5257498
Her goal here isn’t televised, as this conversation won’t be, but she wants her W against you.
>>5257537
He’s number 2 in the direct military command, yes. Freeza put you there specifically so OTHERS couldn’t order you around, and you didn’t have to deal with any chain of command bs.
>>5257548
Cooler is also technically “A” 2nd in command as well. King Vegeta is actually lower in the PTO’s hirearchy, as a planetary commander than you.
>>
>>5257600
>Her goal here isn’t televised, as this conversation won’t be, but she wants her W against you.

>literally just wants a salty runback
Oh my god I want to laugh in her face.
>>
>>5257685
Well of course she does. You did something worse than beat her, you embarassed her to the public and made her look incredibly weak.
>>
>>5257709
She's lucky she didn't get beaten to (near) death for her stunt. But I suppose the nuance of it is lost on her because she can't s0vjnsee past her own nose.
>>
>>5257764
>She's lucky she didn't get beaten to (near) death for her stunt
No, in this case you’re the one missing the point. You DIDN’T fight her. It would have been better for her if you had, and treated her like someone seriously attacking you. Instead, you treated her(admittedly deservedly) like a petulant child. It SHOULD have, by all the laws of the PTO, been a big dramatic incident. Instead it was treated as a child’s tantrum, and the WHOLE UNIVERSE saw. You optics’d her into oblivion, her reputation was basically ruined with that stunt.
>>
>>5257804
>You optics’d her into oblivion, her reputation was basically ruined with that stunt
The best part is that it wasn't even intentional. Karn just lacks the ability to put up with bullshit.
>>
>>5257804
This is a tricky pickle we're in, trickier than even Nefarious's old schemes. I'm all for putting Kommand'r back in timeout, but I just KNOW that bitch is going to use Turles and Ticho as bait. She's an abusive and quick-tempered harlot, but she isn't a complete idiot like the Ctarl-Ctarl, the quickest ticket to high impact Karnal violence is by threatening his family, his friends, and soon to be adopted children. If she's planning what I think she's planning, it will take every fiber of Karn's being (and our self control) to maintain diplomatic standards and not break her neck on the spot.
>>
>>5257828
It should be pretty obvious to Karn, provided he remembers that he's a goddamn General, that Blackfire would never actually take a swing at his family just to get back at him.
We also just got a nice piece of leverage on her given that she just attempted to murder a foreign dignitary.
While I doubt any video footage of that still exists, we have the testimony of Turles, Doctor White, and if push comes to shove, Ticho.
>>
>>5257825
>Karn just lacks the ability to put up with bullshit.
Exceptionally so.
>>5257828
>If she's planning what I think she's planning, it will take every fiber of Karn's being (and our self control) to maintain diplomatic standards and not break her neck on the spot.
You’ll just have to wait and see, less than 12 hours to go
>>
>>5257846
You know who would be a great coach for this? Bane.
I hope that fucker peaks his head out of Karn's mortal soul and throws us some lines.
>>
>>5257804
No I get exactly why she's pissed. And that's why I think she's a fucking idiot. There are certain hills to die on for your pride. Being a hotheaded fucknut is not one of them. And while you will never live down your lowest moments you can still build up your reputation afterwards.

She's a fool and a cunt. And doesn't realize how thin the ice she walks on is. Now the precedent that she will attack over almost no provocation is set she can get killed behind closed doors and people would believe her killer if they said they were acting in self defense.

Then she would die and still have the shame, having accomplished nothing. She's the most irritating kind of person.
>>
>>5257861
Possibly

But in another warrior culture, death is preferable to public dishonor. Especially if you dishonored your family name.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

A week after returning from Chilli's new home, Turles telepathically reached out to Karn to save him from a grievous, life-threatening injury. Karn took the grievously injured warrior to his ship's medbay, and entrusted his life to the healing pod and Dr. White's abilities. His daughter with Komand'r, Ticho, then showed up, angrily accusing him of being the one to hurt her father. After Karn let her rage for a minute or so, he then showed her to her father, and the shape he was in before explaining what happened. Karn then let the young woman stay, Caulifla eagerly taking the young woman with her to share one of her many 'prizes' with. After a night's rest, Karn then discovered Ticho sneaking around before leading her to her father. And as we rejoin Karn, you've just told Turles that King Vegeta is on his way.

“Let's get this over with.” Turles says with a sigh, then turns to his daughter. “Daddy's got to go handle some busi-”
“Daddy!” Ticho shouts suddenly, eyes wide as she rushes into his arms. You look at him confused, and see him give you a surprisingly hard glare.
“What happened?” he asks you, and from how he's holding his daughter you get the feeling that he, he's.... Afraid. “What else happened while I was out?”
“I told King Vegeta what happened, and Komand'r came looking some time later last night.” you say, his expression looking more confused than worried at this. So you hastily add, telepathically as to not worry his daughter any further. “Not for you, but her. Meloka basically ran her off, so she didn't try and take your daughter away by force.”

“Dammit.” Turles replies, then he turns his whole attention to her. They don't talk for several seconds, you understanding they're speaking telepathically before he turns back to you. “I don't want her dragged into this. Is it okay if she stays here and hides where she can't be found?”

What do you do?
>Of course she can stay, the two of you can meet alone with King Vegeta and Komand'r outside
>Tell him you can do one better, and have Chilli house her off-world where she can't be taken by Komand'r or her people should things go south with this meeting
>Telepathically ask Raven if she can keep the girl while you meet with the Tamaranean princess and King Vegeta, as she's untouchable on this world

"Hey Chilli, can I get you to help me with something?" you think out to your son. Who replies almost immediately.
"What's wrong?" he asks, you sensing his sudden worry. "Do you need me there?"
"No no, nothing like that." you reply, and quickly fill him in on yesterday's events. And as you explain what just happened, he interrupts you.
"So you want to send her here while this goes down." your oldest-born son says, not asks. Not to disparage your other kids, but you do think Chilli's the smartest of them. “Sure. Ticho, was it?”
“Yeah. I'll send Caulifla with her, so they can keep each other busy and as out of your hair as possible.” you tell him, relieved. “Thanks Chilli.”
“I'll send them over, once they're ready.” Raven interjects, you addressing Turles out loud as Raven begins stepping through a portal that suddenly appears to your right.

“I can do one better.” you tell him, outlining your plan to both Turles and his daughter Ticho. Who seems excited, and rushes off to wake your daughter and bring her. As she heads towards the door, her body simply vanishes, reactivating the Yautja stealth tech she has. “What do you think?”
“....Thank you.” Turles says, head hanging low as he sighs out, you able to almost taste the relief before he looks back up at you. “How far away is that world?”
“You know, I have no idea.” you say after a moment's thought. “It's far enough away that I can't sense Chilli from here, but other than that I don't know.”
“C'mon, c'mon!” you hear Ticho calling, and turning back as the door opens see the young half-Tamaranean dragging your still half-asleep daughter along with her.
“Daaaa-? Wha's goin on?”

“You and Ticho are going to be spending some time with your brother, while we handle some business.” you say, addressing your daughter. “Can you do that?”
“Of course!” she says, instantly snapping awake as she smiles excitedly. “When are we going?”
“Right now, if you're ready.” Raven says, opening a portal beside her. Through her gate you can see Chilli standing in the center of the Crimson Demon village, his wife Megumin nowhere to be seen.
“Let's go!” the similarly-aged young girls say, rushing through the magical portal. Caulifla turns back to wave at you, then as you return the gesture Raven closes the portal.
“Good.” Turles says, seeming much more relaxed now that his daughter is safely away. His stress visibly goes away, the veins along his arms and forehead fading away.

“What now?” he asks, looking for you to lead. “They're almost here.”

And they are, Komand'r and King Vegeta will be here within a few seconds at most. So you have to decide where to meet them, and how.

Well?

>Meet Komand'r and King Vegeta outside, you'd rather have the fresh air and a breeze for this possibly-explosive meeting

"We'll stay here." you say, Turles looking curiously to you. "Sorry Dr. White, but we'll be here awhile. I'll probably need your take on what happened yesterday as well."
"I understand." he replies tiredly and begins typing on his computer. The keys clack audibly, you turning back to Turles ans lay a hand on his shoulder.
“We'll get through this.” you say to him seriously. “No matter what happens, I'm not going anywhere.”
“Heh. Appreciate it.” he replies, nodding to you. And then the door slides open with a hiss. King Vegeta steps into the room, the young ruler of the Saiyan race looking almost angrily at you. His expression softens a bit as he sees you, and you see him close his eyes and take a deep breath as he walks in. You and Turles salute Vegeta, who nods shallowly.

“At ease.” he says, stepping in as Emilia follows in directly behind him. She towers over the king, her face an expressionless mask. You can't get any sense of what she's thinking, unlike Nappa standing beside her. Your friend is clearly angry about something, but keeping his mouth shut as he clearly grinds his teeth. What the hell happened already?
“Where are they?” you hear Komand'r demand, and a moment later she bursts into the room. The Tamaranean princess is wearing her full regalia, metal armor and heavy cape with the empowered gem hanging around her neck. She's wearing her crown as well, a piece of simple metal coming up to two points over her eyes. Which are blazing with her violet energy. She's clearly upset. “Turles! Where is my daughter?”

“OUR daughter.” he replies simply, and her temper explodes.
“You son of a bitch!” Komand'r roars, lunging at Turles with a heavy right. You reach out, your hand intercepting and catching her swing easily. She looks up at your face with a snarl, and gathers her energy into her other hand. “Give me my daughter back! Right now!”
“That's ENOUGH!!” King Vegeta roars, freezing everyone present. Even Dr. White stops moving, the clack of his computer's keys stopping and leaving you all in absolute silence. King Vegeta begins stepping forward, Komand'r pulling her fist back and snorting, taking a step back. He glares at her for a moment, and even the usually-defiant Komand'r is seemingly cowed by his glare. He then turns to Turles, and speaks to him directly. “Ambassador Turles. What happened to you yesterday?”

And suddenly you have a feeling things are far more serious than you'd previously thought.

"Just tell him the truth." you reply simply with your telepathy. “Don't embellish it or add made-up details.”
“Right.” he replies to you, then begins speaking aloud. He tells about how he and Komand'r had been arguing about something. He couldn't recall what it was that started the fight, but that it swiftly escalated to blows as she attacked him.
“Bullshit!” Komand'r shouts out, after having been surprisingly quiet up to this point. “You hit me first, I was only defending myself!”

“Don't interrupt!” King Vegeta shouts, turning and glaring up at her. She meets his gaze with her own glare, but his quickly dominates hers and she lowers her gaze. “You will have your turn to speak after my ambassador finishes. Understood?”
“Y-Yes.” she says, cowed by his fire. He glares at her for several quiet seconds, then turns back to Turles.
“Continue.”

Turles explains how he was attacked, Komand'r throwing her bolts at him as he retreated, leading the Tamaranean noble away from Ticho towards the gravity chamber. He let her attack him all the way into the chamber, and had planned to lock her inside with him and crank the gravity up until she'd calmed down. But the plan failed, and with her magic gem she was able to withstand greater gravity than him. And then, while he was down on the ground, she punched him straight through the back.

“Dr. White, do you still have my armor?” Turles asks him, the old man nodding and reaching behind his desk to produce it. He hold it up, setting it on his desk where the Komand'r first-sized hole through both sides is clearly visible. “There. If it wasn't for Karn's timely intervention, bringing me here and entrusting my life to the good doctor's care, I would have perished.”
“This is a serious charge.” King Vegeta says, turning towards Komand'r. “What do you say to this?”

She begins telling the story from her perspective, and it's a compelling tale. Even hearing the story from Turles' perspective, and knowing how violent Komand'r could be, her tale of chasing Turles away from their daughter who he was trying to hurt did almost make you want to believe her. She 'heroically' managed to drive Turles back, then as he lunged towards her violently her fist went through his chest and dropped him. Then ignoring her daughter's father she went to find Ticho, only for her daughter to have vanished during the fight.

“Should have never let her keep that cloaking device.” Komand'r mutters almost to herself, you barely hearing this. But you do, and judging from Turles' expression he did as well. King Vegeta's eyes narrow, as he no doubt heard her too.

“Two differing stories.” King Vegeta says aloud, then reaches out to you telepathically. “Where is the daughter?”
“Ticho? She's with Caulifla, at Chilli's home.” you answer him with a thought.
“Good.” he replies to you mentally, then continues aloud. “And without another witness to corroborate the story, we have no method to determine who was truly in the wrong.”
“Not true, King Vegeta.” Turles says, drawing everyone's attention. “The footage from the hallway before the gravity chamber should still be good, that one camera wasn't destroyed while I was being attacked.”

“I see.” King Vegeta says as Komand'rs eyes widen, Vegeta raising his hand to his scouter. “Did you get all that, Beetz?”
“Yes sir, looking back through the footage now.” comes the woman's voice. “One moment, and I can project the footage through your scouter. Tell me when it's ready.”

He takes his scouter off, and points it to the mostly-clear white wall, and presses the button. Then the woman's voice comes through again, as an image is projected on the wall. You see a mostly-empty hallway, ending in one of the familiar, heavily-reinforced doors of a gravity chamber.

“There we go boss, and play.” she says, and the picture remains static for several seconds. Then you all see movement, and it's Turles. Who's walking backwards, catching a pair of energy shots fired by Komand'r. They carry him back, slamming him into the heavy door before exploding in his grip. He's consumed by the cloud of smoke, then the Tamaranean royal can be seen flying down the hallway feet-first towards where his chest was. Then the camera shakes, and as the smoke clears you can see the door is shut again. “Hold on, I'll fast forward through this part. Ah, there we go!”

Beetz speeds through where nothing happens in the footage, then the door suddenly opens. An unharmed Komand'r can be seen walking calmly out, Turles laying in a puddle of his own blood barely visible on the camera as the screen is again paused. Everyone present turns, looking directly at the culprit.

“Looks like you lied to me.” King Vegeta says, his voice low and angry. You see him holding his fists by his sides, arms trembling a bit in clearly-restrained fury. “You attacked one of MY people, then had the audacity to lie directly to my face?! What do you have to say for yourself?”

He's mad. No, he's FURIOUS. You haven't ever seen King Vegeta this angry, he's seemingly on the cusp of losing control of his rage as his shoulders tremble slightly. Then, she says something truly shocking: “What difference does it make?”

How do you respond?
>You've heard enough, take one good swing and lay her ass out

She's desperate, and trying to capitalize on Vegeta's rightful anger is proof of that.

"King Vegeta." you say calmly, your first student turning his furious glare from the Tamaranean royal to you. You shake your head once, the king's eyes widening a bit. "Calm down, my king."

He immediately closes his eyes, then takes a deep breath to calm himself down. But he wasn't the only one she'd upset.

“BITCH!” Nappa roars angrily, golden aura blazing as he instantly closes the distance between them and swings. His giant fist swings, Komand'r not moving and smirks a bit just before his fist lands. Nappa's fist crashes into her face, sending the woman flying and crashing directly into and through the wall Vegeta's scouter is still projecting to. “You tried to kill my friend! I'LL KILL YOU!!”
NAPPA!!” King Vegeta bellows, the giant warrior freezing immediately. He looks over his shoulder at King Vegeta, his face going pale as he walks up. Then with zero hesitation gut checks Nappa, the giant dropping to his knees and clutching himself. Without looking back he then turns to the hole in the wall, and you can see him offering his hand down as Turles goes to Nappa's side. You just stand there, dumbstruck. What the hell? “My apologies for my subordinate's actions. He will be punished appropriately.”

You can't hear her reply as she takes his offered help back to her feet, then a moment later King Vegeta and Princess Komand'r return through the door. Vegeta points to two of the guards, and orders them to take Nappa out of there immediately and put him in the holding cell.

“Yes sir!” they both say, snapping perfect salutes before each one grabs onto one of Nappa's arms, lifting the much bigger Saiyan upright. But make no move towards the door.
“S-Sorry, King Vegeta. Lost my-” Nappa starts, and Vegeta again gut checks him.
“That is no excuse for committing such a crime.” King Vegeta says harshly, you seeing Turles' jaw drop at what's happening. You admit to feeling surprised as well, but try to keep your expressions off your face and follow the king's lead. Diplomatic things are much more his strong suit than your own, and you know that just beating her to death here would make for much bigger problems. No matter how much she deserves it. He then turns around, and fixes Komand'r with that same scornful glare he'd given Nappa moments ago. “Is it?”

She then freezes, and a second later you get it. This ENTIRE THING was a setup!

King Vegeta brought Nappa along just for this, just to get angry at her and attack all to get her perfectly cornered! If she agrees with him, then Nappa is clearly in the wrong for attacking her out of anger and should be punished. But if he is, then she should be as well for doing the exact same thing to Turles. But if she says it isn't worth causing a fuss about, she cannot have any retribution against Nappa for what he just did to her either. It's a simple trap, but you hadn't even considered it until the Tamaranean princess had been caught. And then you realize something else: Nappa wasn't the one supposed to strike her first. Nappa had been brought as backup, IN CASE you tried to stop King Vegeta from doing so himself! Focused as you were on the king, you hadn't even given your friend a glance as he'd been quiet the entire time up to now. But with his head held low, face out of her view, you can see a wolfish grin on his face.

“I-! You-!” she stammers, unable to answer as she realizes the trap that had sprung up around her. She's trapped, and she knows it. So why is she suddenly grinning?
“Masterful work, Saiyan King Vegeta.” she says wickedly, bending forward a bit as she looks him in the eyes. “You would have made a much more interesting plaything than that worthless man over there. A shame you won't come and spend some time with me, getting to know each other better in the Tamaranean fashion.”

Having been to their planet, you know exactly what she means. King Vegeta does too, his cheeks reddening a bit at the implications as he takes a step back.

“But he's no longer fun to play with. So as of now, Turles is banned from stepping foot on Planet Azar, Tamaran, and all other worlds under my people's rule.” she says, Turles' eyes widening in surprise. She actually can ban him? That's news to you.
“If my ambassador is banished from your worlds, than the same goes for you.” King Vegeta replies. “As of now, your people will also have to send a different ambassador to our world to conduct business.”

But at this news, she only grins. A malicious grin, as she turns back to glance Turles' way.

“Then return my daughter to me. As Tamaranean royalty, my daughter Ticho cannot remain on a foreign world without either myself or another royal present to oversee her.” she declares, you seeing the color drain from Turles' face. “She will be raised as a proper Tamaranean noble should.”
“You can't do that!” Turles shouts, his voice higher than normal and full of panic. “You can't take her away!”
“As her mother, I have full legal rights over my daughter.” she replies to the panicked Turles. “As the daughter of a noble and an ambassador, her noble blood holds greater significance than that of a mere ambassador. She's coming with me.”

“You, you can't take her.” Turles says, and turns from her to King Vegeta. No doubt looking for help. But he only shakes his head once, not meeting your friend's gaze. Seems that there's something to what she's saying, and that King Vegeta cannot help him there. You see Turles' shock, and turns from King Vegeta to her evil grin as he sinks down to his knees, hopeless. There's nothing you can do.

Or is there?

>Try and pull rank to demand this be settled between them in proper Saiyan fashion outside the ship. Whoever wins the fight gets to keep the daughter, and the other loses their claim to the kid

As this has become an international incident between powers in the PTO it falls under the jurisdiction of the ruling PTO body. Whoops. Maybe if people weren't so hostile it could have been solved amicably without oversight.

Of course if she doesn't like our determination she can always ask another member of the greater PTO hierarchy.

"Now, hold on just a moment." you say, Komand'r and Turles both whipping their heads towards you as you speak up. "Your authority may be over Tamaraneans, and King Vegeta is the leader of the Saiyans. But I believe I outrank both of you, and because of that I think that I am the one who gets final say."
“K-Karn?” Turles asks, tears in his eyes as he looks up at you in desperation, like a starving man would eye a table full of food.
“You don't even rank as high as your own king, much less me.” she retorts, eyes hard as she glares at you. “What makes you think that you can order me around?”

“You may be royalty, or whatever. But that doesn't mean a damn thing.” you reply, shocking the woman. She actually takes a step back, recoiling from your declaration as if you were on fire. “You may be royalty to the Tamaraneans, but I am GENERAL KARN. Second-in-command of Lord Freeza's forces, with only the emperor himself above me in the entire PTO. Which, last I checked, includes both you and King Vegeta. Unless you're telling me that you want to withdraw the Tamaranean empire from the PTO itself over this?”

“-!” Komand'rs jaw drops, the woman completely stunned by what you're saying. And from the silence hanging over the room, clearly everyone else is as well. Nobody says a word, and you just cross your arms in front of your chest.
“Well? What will it be?” you ask her, not moving and staring her down, daring her to try anything against you. She meets your glare with fury of her own, body trembling and teeth gnashing in impotent rage as she desperately tries to think of any way she can out maneuver you. But after more than a minute of you not saying anything, her entire body slumps forward, hands going to her eyes as she begins crying.

“My daughter!” you make out between her sobs, the proud princess sagging down onto her knees as she cries. It isn't a pretty sight, the usually in-control Komand'r breaking down before you all as she realizes that she's lost completely. You look around, and see King Vegeta, Nappa, Dr. White, and the Royal Guard all looking very uncomfortable, and clearly wanting to do something to comfort her. But then Turles speaks up, breaking her spell.
“Your fake tears used to work on me, but not anymore.” he says, and the Tamaranean royal's head snaps around to glare at him furiously. “I will keep our daughter safe, and will raise her to hopefully be a better woman than her mother.”

“YOU BASTARD!!”

She surges upright from the ground and swings at your friend, who doesn't even flinch at the incoming blow despite the power gap. Turles doesn't power up or try to dodge at all, choosing to take the hit straight to the jaw while still in his base form. But to everyone's surprise, and even his own, he isn't sent flying. His right foot slides back a bit, bracing himself as he absorbs the punch. She's shocked by this, pulling her fist off his face as she takes a step back.

“Wh-What?” she asks, shocked that her punch hadn't sent him flying, much less damage him. Curious, you turn to one of the Guard, who's activated his scouter. No doubt wondering just how strong this newest near-death experience has made him.
“T-Twen...Twenty six million?” the Royal Guards says, his face a look of pure shock as he takes a step back. Wait, Turles is that strong now?
“No way.” Komand'r says, taking another step back from Turles. “How? When did you get this strong?!”
“Did you forget? We Saiyans get stronger every single time we recover from a near-death experience.” he tells her, and clenches his fists. Then his golden aura blazes up around him, and his power surges. “And you've been beating me to the point of near-death for months now. But no more!”

Turles continues powering up, Ascending as sparks begin dancing around his body and dwarfing her strength. Komand'r takes a couple more steps back from him, her entire body language radiating fear.

“You've overplayed your hand, Ko.” he says, but then gives a small, almost-sad smile. “But you're not hurting my daughter, ever again.”

Komand'r surrenders at this point, turning to King Vegeta with none of her previous fire and agreeing to leave the planet without a fight. He nods, and his Royal Guard surround the woman as he returns to his scouter. He whispers something into it before putting it on, and your eyes widen as you remember something else. Beetz on the other end heard everything. And if she recorded it....

“You won't keep my daughter from me forever.” Komand'r says as she's led from the room. “Ticho will be mine!”

And then she's lead from the medical bay, King Vegeta turning to you. He gives a nod, you returning the gesture as he leaves as well. Leaving you, Nappa, Turles, and Dr. White in your room's medical bay. Nobody says a word for several moments, then as you sense Vegeta and Komand'r leaving the ship Nappa turns to Turles.

“You did it!” he shouts, grabbing both of you in his arms jovially. Showing no signs of being damaged from Vegeta's earlier blows. “This calls for a celebration!”

“Hold on, before we go. Let's head over to the Crimson Demon village first, and gather the girls first.” you say, Turles smiling at your suggestion. “Matter of fact, let's gather everyone. This is a victory celebration for a friend, it should be something great.”
“Ha, you're right about that!” Nappa shouts excitedly, clapping Turles on the back as he powers back down. “I'll get everyone together, and get us a place while you two go off and get your girls.”

He then lets you both go, and hurries to the door as you turn back to Dr. White.

“Sorry for taking up so much of your time.” you say to the good doctor, who waves your concern off.
“Always happy to help.” he replies, then to Turles adds. “Your body is fixed, now heal your soul.”
“Thank you.” your friend says, giving a proper Saiyan salute as you telepathically reach out to Raven. But before you can say anything to her, she thinks first.
“Give me about two minutes, max.” she tells you. “King Vegeta is sending Komand'r off now via portal, then I'll be over there.”
“Thanks again Raven. Where would we be without you?” you ask her, then link your mind to your oldest-born son's. “Hey, Chilli. We're wrapping up here, how's everything going?”
“Oh, hey Dad.” your son replies, and seems in a good mood. “Did everything work out?”
“It did.” you tell him. “Ticho's going to be staying on New Salda from now on. Don't tell her yet, let her father tell her.”

“Understood. We're in the village, so I'll keep them here to wait for you.” he replies, then ends the mental link. As he does, Raven creates her portal back beside you once again, it shutting behind her.
“You did well.” Raven says to Turles, laying a hand on his arm. “You did the right thing. Your daughter's future will be brighter with you in her life, instead of her mother.”
“Tha-Thank you.” Turles says, choking up a bit as she begins creating another portal. You hear Chilli saying something, then Ticho surges through, looking around wildly. She then sees her dad, and launches herself into him with a shout.

“DADDY!!”

“Ticho!” he says, tears in his eyes as his daughter crashes into his chest. He holds her tight, whispering something to her as Caulifla comes through as well. She looks to the father and daughter, an inexplicably sad-seeming smile on her face.
“Hey, you two want to come over for a bit?” you ask your son, who looks questioningly to you. “We're hosting a party over here for Turles and Ticho, you two want to join us?”
“Sure, we can for a bit.” he says, after sharing a quick glance and no-doubt a brief mental conversation as well. “Why not?”

Your son and his wife join you all, Caulifla rushing towards the door to wake the rest of her siblings. But as she does, it slides open early, revealing your own wife Meloka standing there holding the two youngest of your children. She has a smile on her face, but isn't looking at you. She's also watching Turles with his daughter, holding onto her like there is nothing else in the world that matters.

“Hey Mel, we're going to be having a celebration.” you say to your wife, who smiles knowingly. “Are the kids up?”
“Yes, and everyone's already waiting.” she replies, and starts walking off. “When you all are ready, come over to the mess hall. Silver's people have been working since King Vegeta showed up, everything's almost ready to eat.”
“Yay!” Caulifla shouts, but instead of running off runs over to Turles and Ticho. Your daughter then hesitantly grabs onto the half-Tamaranean girl's hand, who looks over at her with tears all down her face. “C'mon, let's go eat! Everybody's waiting!”

Then almost comically both Turles and Ticho's stomachs grumble, the two sharing a glance before bursting out laughing. He then picks his daughter up, Caulifla still hanging onto her hand and dangling comically as he turns to you. Wordlessly the two of you share a nod, and you all head over to the mess hall. Upon arrival, you discover that not only are all your other kids there, but so are you and Turles' old group as well. Leyas, Sarada, and Nappa are all there, as well as several others you don't remember as immediately. You all take seats together, talking and laughing as Silver's disciples begin bringing out massive platters of food and drink. Before anyone digs in, Nappa raises his mug high, and begins to address the room.

“Today, one of our own has won a great victory!” Nappa calls out, everyone slowly mirroring him and raising their own drinks as well. “Turles and his daughter Ticho both, they'll be staying here with us from now on! Three cheers for Turles, and his unbreakable spirit!”

The room erupts into cheers, you raising your own cup and cheering as well before taking a drink. It burns just right going down, and as you glance to the kids see them not taking swigs, but draining their drinks! Seeing your gaze, Alice, the pale, red-eyed one slips over to you and whispers that their drinks are more suitable for children than what the adults are having. The celebration quickly moves into full swing, the full mess hall all celebrating Turles' victory and liberation together. It lasts for well over an hour, everyone laughing and having a great time as you all simply enjoy this time. As the celebration begins to wind down, you find yourself beside your old friend, who's holding his now-sleeping daughter to his chest. And from the way he's holding her to him, there's no way the man's letting her go anytime soon.

“Glad everything worked out.” you tell him, sitting in front of the empty platters and cups scattered about. Silver's disciples are nowhere to be seen, his 'son' Jim cleaning the tables of dishes while maintaining his mortal appearance. “Now that you're going to be staying here on-world, I had a couple things we need to talk about.”
“Like what?” he asks, eyes furrowing a bit.

Well? What do you ask him?
>Since he doesn't have a place yet, offer him to stay here with you all as long as they want. The girls already get along great, and you have plenty of rooms
>Ask if he wants to join you for your afternoon lessons and help teach the younger generations about defense, since he's clearly had a lot of practice

“You know, since you'll be sticking around now, how about you join me for my afternoon lessons?” you ask him, Turles looking surprised. “What do you say? You've clearly had a lot of practice with your defense, and could teach them all a thing or two about how to take hits from stronger fighters.”
“Well, I don't think I'd mind being a bit of a teacher.” he says, looking up thoughtfully. “Your old man did seem rather content being one for the last few years...”
“He did, didn't he?” you reply, remembering back. And he really did, even there at the end he looked far more content and happy than he ever had for most of your life. You then bring your gaze back down, only to notice Caulifla looking at the two of you with an odd expression on her face. When she sees you she looks away rather quickly, you raising an eyebrow curiously. But she doesn't look your way, you turning your attention back to Turles. “Meloka and I will be heading that way here in a little bit, you should come with us.”

“You know, I think I will.” he says, then looks at you. “On one condition.”
“Oh? Name it.” you reply, curiosity piqued.
“I want you to teach me that move you used before.” he says seriously, no hint of joking in his voice. “That one that let you shrug off Komand'rs Eye Beams, back at the tournament.”
“The Energy Body? I'd be happy to.” you reply, holding your right hand over across your body towards him. He switches his grip, holding his daughter to him with his left and taking your offered hand into his own. “We'll get started today, and I'll show you after the class.”
“Sounds good.” Turles replies, a smile on his face. Today's been a hell of a ride, but it looks like things are looking up.

“Gen-General Karn!” one of your ship's crew, Orlen shouts as he bursts into the room. “Karn, come quick! We've got a problem!”
“What's wrong?” you ask, swiftly getting to your feet and rushing over, while all you can think is 'Of course something else happens'. “Orlen, what's going on?”
“We're under attack!” he shouts, and everyone in the room immediately snaps to attention. But who would dare attack here of all places?

>>
>>5259184
That does bring up an interesting question actually.
What's the drug trade like on New Salda? I assume there's a blanket ban on most recreational narcotics for PTO soldiers, but that just makes the existence of a black market all the more likely.
>>
>>5259184
Is this a reference?
>>5259188
There is a black market of sorts, at least one is rumored to exist anyways. But anyone who knows of such a thing sure as shit wouldn't let the NUMBER TWO PTO military officer know of such a thing.
>>
>>5259210
Ya know, we should probably look into that at some point.
God knows how much of a problem it's would be if a segment of the Saiyan population got hooked on something like death sticks or spice.
WAIT THAT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE SOMETHING THOSE REMNANT FUCKS WOULD DO. FUCK.
>>

Only knowing of such a thing being possible OOC, you can't just decide to look for one.
>>
>>5259241
I know, but now it's always gonna be on the back of my mind.
A steady supply of narcotics and regular terrorist attacks can absolutely destroy an army, and those totally feel like they fall in the Remnants' wheelhouse.
While Karn wouldn't have a reason to go sniffing around for all that, I hope that Vegeta or Frieza has the good sense to be on the lookout for that kind of shit.

Then before you can ask Orlen any questions about what he said, suddenly you feel the entire ship suddenly shake. As if something large struck it, or hit the planet itself. You immediately expand your ki sense, but don't sense anything unusual. But you have a terrible feeling that things are about to get dangerous.

“Turles, focus on protecting Ticho.” you order, quickly taking control of the situation. Meloka gathers all the kids younger than Caulifla to herself as she activates a swarm of her Warding Eyes around herself while still holding Karn Jr and Okira. She'll protect the kids, no matter what. “Everyone else, with me. We're taking this head on.”

Without another word you rush past Orlen, who stands aside as the swarm of Saiyans rush through the door. You sprint to the exit, rushing outside to see more than two dozen odd metal craft of some sort have slammed into the ground all around your ship. Before you can ponder that, a metal door explodes out of it's track on one directly at you. You catch the door in your left hand, only to see a strange mechanical warrior surging from the landing pod directly at you. It looks like an ancient being, most of it's metal rusted except for the giant gears in it's right shoulder, the gear-shaped spiked shield, and the giant lance that makes up the right arm lunging directly at your head. But the old machine is far too slow for you, and with a contemptuous backhand bat the thrusting lance aside with your left. The metal soldier then tries to drive the point of it's shield into you, but you catch the shield with your right palm, stopping it well short of impaling you.

“Die.” you say simply, firing your Eye Beams through the lancer's head. Your beams pierce straight through it's skull, piercing straight through it's single glowing eye and dull, burned-out other socket. But to your surprise the machine doesn't stop, kicking up at your chest with the point of it's right knee. You've had enough, and as it kicks you draw your right hand back, and deliver a powerful palm strike directly into the armored metal. The strike shatters the shield, the force of your blow sending it flying back and crashing into then straight through the pod it had leapt from. As it does, you see another peek out from the interior, leveling a bizarre-looking rifle at you. “Haaaaa!!”

You point at the weapon, and with a bit of focus fire a Death Beam directly into the weapon. It explodes on contact, the blast consuming the hiding metal gunner seemingly-completely along with the pod it landed in.

Chilli's magical crystals quickly spread, covering the sand and the metal pods as well. As you look around, you see each one of the pods was occupied by a pair of the unusual metal soldiers, but Chilli's spell quickly incapacitates them all. With crystals growing up into their gears, the metal beings are unable to move. At least for the moment. You hear several cracking sounds from all around, as the ancient machines try to break free and continue their attack.

He has them stopped, for now, but what do you do?
>Create your Super Ki Blade, and cut down as many of these metal warriors as you can before they free themselves
>Use your telekinesis to smash as many of the ancient machines together as you can, break them apart against each other before they can fight back

“Take them down, quick! Before they can escape!” you call, then crouching for a moment explode up and off the ground. You launch yourself straight up into the air, flying higher and higher to find whatever sent those cylindrical attack pods at your ship. You ascend higher and higher, the sounds of combat fading away to nothing as you ascend into the upper atmosphere. The air is far thinner than down on the planet's surface, you panting a bit to keep filling your lungs with enough air to fill your lungs. You look around, trying to find anything that could have launched them, and almost immediately you see something! It's a massive rectangular and boxy ship, with the same rusty metal with clean gear aesthetics as the soldiers, and immediately you realize that this has to be the source of the metal creatures.

But as you watch the ship, deciding how to take care of it, you see the gears begin turning. And as they do, what you recognize as cannons all are turning and pointing towards you!

“Yeah, definitely hostile.” you say to yourself, and flare your aura up while clenching your fists. Focusing your ki, you draw your right arm back, quickly forming a powerful Energy Javelin. The cannons keep turning towards you, then right as they're almost pointing directly at you you unleash your lance of destructive power. “HAAAAA!!”

Your Energy Javelin flies straight and true, piercing directly into the side of the seemingly-ancient warship. Your attack pierces easily through the rusty hull, slamming into something more-solid inside and stopping. The cannons continue turning towards you, but just as they line up on you, your attack detonates.

KABOOM

Your Energy Javelin explodes in a fiery blast, consuming the entire massive warship. Well, almost the entire thing, the rear fifth of the ship surviving the blast. The remains of the ancient ship immediately begins dropping towards the planet, and you consider detonating it as well before it can crash to the planet below. But as you consider it, suddenly a machine leaps forth from it.

“KIIIIIIIIIIIN!” a metal creature screeches, it looking like an angry bird-like monster as it flies off the ruined wreckage of the ship. At the joints of it's wings and body are several cannons mounted just like the ship, the beast aiming them all at you.

What do you do?
>Rush and attack, rip and tear it apart with your hands

“Like hell.” you mutter as it fires the six-barrel cannons at you, the six solid projectiles streaming directly towards you. But such antique weaponry isn't a match for your raw speed and power, you easily dodging in-between the projectiles.
“KIIIIIIIIIIIN!!” it bellows again, firing another volley of shots at you. Once again you easily dodge the shots, and decide that enough's enough. You're ending this thing, and the rest of that ship in one attack!
“Haaaaaa!!” you roar, dashing straight through the metal creature's third volley of shots and close in on it. The creature tries to swing it's cannons at you, but the metal being lacks the power to move you, your forearm blocking the giant weapon easily. Then you grab onto it, and with a roar start spinning in place. You hurl the creature around you in a circle once, twice, three times before pitching it straight towards the falling remains of the ship. The creature caws once more as it crashes into it, your toss sending both heading down towards the planet even faster. But you're not done yet.

“Take this one with you.” you say, again focusing your ki into your right hand while drawing it back. Once more a lance of powerful ki forms, you holding it behind and above you, held back and ready to throw. “And DIE!!”

With a shout you hurl the powerful lance of ki down, it piercing directly into the creature and pinning it to the remains of the ship just as it was about to leap away.

“KIIIIIIIIIN!!” it caws in outrage, firing one last barrage of shots up towards you. Then your Energy Javelin detonates, consuming the remains of the ship and the cannon creature entirely. They disappear in the explosion, and as the smoke clears you see that they're little more than scraps, burning up as they fall towards your planet.
“This was easy.” you mutter to yourself, raising your hand to your forehead as you focus on the others below. You can sense that they've all powered down, and curiously focus on Nappa's ki and teleport directly to his side with Instant Transmission. You appear directly by his side, and see Nappa looking curiously at one of the pods. He's looking intently at something inside it, you waiting for him to pull his head out. As he does, Nappa looks genuinely disturbed about something. “What is it?”
“See for yourself.” he says, moving aside and letting you look inside. So you do, and almost immediately you see it. There, on the 'ceiling' of the cylindrical pod, is an all-too-familiar logo. Which just leaves you with one question:

What is the Dreadzone logo doing here on the inside of this thing of all places?

Let's try and figure out some facts from all this.
>Karn didn't sense anything, meaning the target was either cloaked or lacked a Ki signature.
>The target was either on or near New Salda at some point and Vox most likely knew this.
>The volume of the forces sent suggests that the target was either not that strong or Vox wanted this done discreetly.
>Chaya wasn't told about this because if she was, she'd have told us right away.
>No organic forces were sent. While this could just be SOP for Vox, it might also suggest that non-organics are more suited to the mission at hand.
Based on all that...I think they were looking for an experimental stealth droid that fled to New Salda.

QM UPDATE

Epilogue probably won’t be out until next tuesday-ish, maybe as late as next thursday as I don’t plan on writing too much over vacation. However, it’s going to be a good one, focused on Kazuma’s group’s time on Freeza’s ship and the shenanigans that will undoubtedly happen there. But just for fun, who do you think possesses the abilities that Freeza will like the most: Aqua, Kazuma, Darkness, or Yunyun?
>>
>>5262095
That is a hard question....its Yunyun isn't it? She is the most honestly polite of the group.
>>
>>5262095
Aqua would annoy him and is just an useless goddess.
Darkness at most us a useful training dummy.
Kazuma is a slimy prick, one Freeza likely has too much experience in dealing with kinds like him
So Yunyun it is.
>>
>>5262131
The ditz is very polite, but would any of her magic impress him? After all, he’s seen Chilli in action against a literal deity.
>>5262233
>and is just an useless goddess.
95+% of the time, yes. And an alcoholic. But when she finally gets off her ass, she has some broken abilities. Especially ‘Sacred Break Spell’ and ‘Ressurection’.
Darkness is a masochistic punching bag with strength around the likes of late DB/early Z characters like Piccolo and Goku. Problem is she just can’t HIT anything with that power.
>Kazuma is a slimy prick
True. But he has tricks Freeza’s probably never seen before, like Steal.
Yunyun may actually avoid his notice entirely, her passive stealth is insane just because she’s so quiet and lacks presence.
>>
>>5262296
She would give it an honest try.
>>
>>5262723
She would. Which is why Kazuma relies on her heavily to help carry their, well let’s just say difficult teammates. She’s just happy to have friends and goes along with whatever the others’ want to do, happy to be included.

Been a fun weekend, headed back home tomorrow afternoon. Also finished all of Konosuba yesterday evening and went back to writing, got six full posts already finished for the Kazuma epilogue. -Saiyan Conqueror Quest 174 Epilogue-

AGE 750, FREEZA’S SPACESHIP

“I’m so sorry for her ineptitude!” you say immediately, smacking the so-called goddess Aqua on the back of her head before bowing on all fours, seeing the spark of actual anger in his eyes. Dammit, everything was going so well! But now she’s ruined it, and you’re going to die. Again!

You are Satou Kazuma. A Japanese neet reincarnated into what, at first, seemed like an idyllic fantasy world. But that illusion was swiftly shattered not long after being shackled with the mostly-useless goddess Aqua. Instead of taking one of the obscenely-powerful cheat items, you’d chosen her in a fit of anger and spite, and have been paying for it ever since. After her, you then acquired two other female companions to help in your mission of taking down the Demon King, which from the outside would seem like an ideal harem. But this group is anything but idyllic. Darkness joined your group, a female Crusader with nigh-impregnable defenses, but is a severe masochist. To the point she has no offensive skills whatever, putting all her points into defense and resistances. The only saving grace of this trainwreck is the demure, quiet archwizard Yunyun. As a Crimson Demon, she is a wielder of Intermediate and Advanced magics to damage enemies or control battlefields.

But everything changed when the Saiyans arrived and you learned that this universe was far wider than you’d expected. And after learning what universe you’d actually landed in, you decided to leave this world behind. Someone else could handle the Demon King, while you would do everything you could to meet with the self-proclaimed ruler of the universe, Emperor Freeza. When you’d met the tyrant at the wedding of Yunyun’s rival, Megumin, you discovered just how different this universe was from what you expected. Megumin had somehow seduced a young Saiyan, the son of a man known as General Karn, Freeza’s right hand man. At the wedding you managed to meet with the emperor, and traded the information on the Dragonballs in exchange for a golden ticket to leave this world behind. This was supposed to be your track to the easy life, but it looks like Aqua has ruined things for you once again. So much for the happy, peaceful life you’d dreamed of.

“If you all will be on my ship, accompanying me to and on Planet Namek, I should know what you all are capable of.” Lord Freeza had decreed as the ship left the Saiyan’s newest homeworld of New Salda. “So, what can you do?”
>>
>>5271599
Aqua had, of course, volunteered to demonstrate her abilities first. She started off by casting several Blessings on herself, then using her useless Party Trick magic. But you could tell Freeza wasn’t amused, clearly thinking her an idiot. That annoyance turned to fury as she disappeared his scouter, then when he asked for it back, she claimed that she had no idea where it went. Which brings you to now.

“KAZUMAAAAA! You hit me!” Aqua shouts at you, completely situatuonally unaware.
“I have no use for such a useless moron.” Emperor Freeza says, raising a single finger and pointing it at her as a single pinpoint of light gathers at his fingertip. “Begone.”
“Wait!” Darkness declares, and acting Crusader-like stands between Aqua and Freeza, arms spread wide. “As a Crusader, I cannot allow you to harm any of my companions! If you want to hurt them, you’ll have to go through me!

“Very well.” Freeza replies, and fires. There is a flash of light, and as it fades you fear the worst. Darkness may be strong, but that attacked killed even Vegeta, there’s no way she- “Oh?”
“Wh-What a hit.” Darkness says, and to your surprise remains standing. Freeza’s attack didn’t pierce completely through her, yet despite the wound smoking your Crusader remains standing tall. “H-H-Hit me again!”

You immediately want a refund on your earlier concern.

“Hmph.” Freeza says disdainfully, firing again and again. After a half-dozen more flashes of light he lowers his hand, yet to your shock Darkness is STILL standing. Her entire body is trembling, and you see blood dripping off the front of her down to the floor as she struggles to remain standing.
“Haaah, haaah, haaaah. S-Such ferocious attacks!” she says, and you can’t tell if she’s on the point of passing out or climaxing. But either way she won’t last much longer, you whirling on Aqua.
“Don’t just stand there being useless!” you shout, shocking her. “Darkness took those shots for you, so hurry up and heal her!”

To your surprise she doesn’t even attempt to argue back, leveling her hands at Darkness as golden light envelops them both.

“Oh, I see.” Freeza says as Aqua’s healing spell ends, Darkness no longer trembling as badly. “Interesting. Perhaps I should actually allow you to meet my father?”

You can’t think of anything worse, aside from maybe Majin Buu itself being awakened, than Aqua meeting Freeza’s father King Cold. Such a meetung could ONLY end in disaster.

“Wait, is that all?” Darkness asks, drawing Freeza’s attention. “Ar-Aren’t you going to keep attacking, not stopping until I’m too weak to resist-?”
“Arctus was right...” you hear Freeza mutter as he looks away from the quivering Crusader. Seems your pervert Eroness can make even him feel uncomfortable.
>>
>>5271601
“Now then, there are still two of you left.” Freeza says, turning his focus onto you and Yunyun. “Who will show their abilities first?”
“Ummm, well...” Yunyun says, as lacking in force as ever. She even seems to wither under Freeza’s gaze, but still tries to keep talking. “M-Most of my magic needs a target, but they’re very dangerous and-“
“Very well. Fire upon me, and hit me with your best shot.” he says, spreading his arms wide and taking the stance he had when facing Goku seriously on Namek.

“But, but you were so nice giving us a ride on your ship and all.” Yunyun says, sounding even more uncertain. “My strongest spell can cut through the sturdiest magical barriers and people. I’d hate to hurt you...”
“Such a straightforward child.” Freeza says absently, then clenches his fists as he smirks. “But worry not. Should you actually injure me, that blue-haired one should be able to repair any injury you could possibly deal me. And if she is unable, well. I do know the single greatest healer in the entire universe.”

“V-Very well! Alright, I’ll show you the greatest magic known to the Crimson Demon clan!” Yunyun says, arms up. But then suddenly Freeza’s eyes widen a bit as magic circles begin appearing around Yunyun’s feet and upraised right arm. You can feel the pressure of her gathering magic power as Freeza braces himself, and with a shout the future chief of the Crimson Demons unleashes her full power.

“LIGHT OF SABER!!”

The bolt of crackling golden power explodes forth from her hand, launched directly at Freeza and for a moment worry that she might actually hurt him as the blast strikes. Freeza disappears inside the blast as a cloud of smoke blooms, but because of that you immediately realize he’s fine. It’s almost like a natural law, if someone’s hit with an attack and disappears in a cloud of smoke, they’re actually fine. Freeza even survived a Spirit Bomb, so this should be nothing.

“I-Is he okay?” Yunyun asks.
“You really took him out that easily?” Aqua asks, cementing his survival chances at 100%. That girl just can’t avoid raising flags.
“No, I am quite alright.” Freeza says as the dust and smoke thin, the ship’s air ventilation quickly dispelling the cloud. He pats himself off, then looks back up at Yunyun. “Was that your best attack?”
“Th-That was my strongest attack spell.” Yunyun says, deflating a bit. So you decide to interfere, and boost her confidence.
“Yunyun! Hit ‘em with some of the control spells!” you call encouragingly. “Like ‘Bottomless Swamp’!”
“R-Right! she shouts enthusiastically, smiling at you then turning back towards Freeza determinedly. “Bottomless Swamp!”
>>
>>5271603
The pristine ship floor suddenly transforms around Freeza into a vile-seeming purple marsh, including thr ground he’s standing on. Immediately he begins sinking in, and you see a note of concern on his face at this sudden development. Not for his safety, no doubt, but for the condition of his ship once this demonstration is over.As Freeza’s legs and tail are buried, Yunyun then throws both hands into the muck, unleashing the combo you’d devised to challenge that Deadly Poison Slime.

“Crystal Prison!” she shouts, and ice rapidly spreads from her hands. Freeza smirks at this, and makes no move to escape as the ice spreads and quickly envelops him completely. “Haa, haaa, did-? Did I do it?”
“Excellent work Yunyun!” you say with a smile and thumbs up, Yunyun giving you a dazzling smile that melts your heart. She’s the main heroine of the story, much unlike that useless goddess you’re forced to constantly bail out of trouble. But then you all hear it.

C-CRACK

The ice cracks, then shatters, revealing Freeza as he steps up and out of the now-frozen swamp.

“Interesting. Combining different magics can wield surprising results.” he says, popping his neck. “Any other interesting techniques?”
“I have a few others, but nothing so impressive.” Yunyun says, sounding disappointed that her magic wasn’t more effective. “Energy Ignition, Teleport, Cursed Lightning, Tornado, Crea-“
“What was that? The second second one, what did you say?” he asks, suddenly intrigued. “Did you say Teleportation?”
“Y-Yes?” Yunyun says, suddenly worried.

“Oho? You have a teleportation ability as well?” Freeza asks, suddenly interested. “You possess such abilities? Intriguing. What are the limits of your teleportation capacity?”
“I can use it up to four times in rapid succession, if I haven’t cast any other spells that day before my magic begins running low.” she says, still clearly nervous at being the center of attention. “But I can only teleport to locations I have set as destinations.”
“So your teleportation is limited to locations, and not to individuals?” he asks, raising a brow curiously. “So, how many places have you set these ‘destinations’ so far, and is there a limit to them?”

“C-Currently I can have at most four seperate locations to teleport between.” Yunyun says. “I have two on my homeworld, the village I grew up in and he capital city of my country, Belzerg, one on the Saiyan planet there by that nice woman Raven’s home, and one on the ramp of your ship here.”
“Excellent. That you possess such an ability could prove to be invaluable to the empire. We have only one teleporter as it is, and she is bound to New Salda permanently.” Freeza says, turning his gaze back towards you. “Well then, now that your companions have shown me their skills, I believe it time for you to do the same, Satou Kazuma.”
>>
>>5271606
“What do you bring to my empire, besides that inexplicable knowledge?” Freeza asks you directly.
“Out of my companions, unfortunately I have the weakest job of Adventurer, and am a liability in most direct confrontations.” you say honestly, without bravado while stealthily channeling your magic and using Create Earth in your closed left palm for a sneak attack later. You know that Freeza can probably tell by looking at you, but best to be honest just in case. “But as an Adventurer, I possess the most useful skill in being able to learn the skills of all classes. Here, please hold onto my weapon so I can demonstrate my signature ability.”

“Very well.” Freeza says, taking ahold of your unsheathed, and still unnamed Japanese-style blade. “Now what?”
“STEAL!!” you shout, channeling a large chunk of your magic into the ability while throwing your right hand forward. Then with a flash you’ve done it. Your blade is once again safely back in your own right hand.
“So you can take possession of others’ items, even despite the power gap between us? How interesting.” Freeza says, looking from you to his now-empty hand. “So you’re a thief, then?”
“It’s an ability based on Luck, my only really good stat.” you answer him, sheathing the blade. “So I’ve developed my style around it. But I have other utility skills, like Lurk and Enemy Detection, as well as some basic magic like Tinder, Bind, and Create Water. But as I said, I can learn the skills of any and every class. Bind!”

And again you cast a spell, this time the target not Freeza but your troubling Crusader Darkness. The adamantite-infused wire rope leaps from your belt around her, pinning her arms to her sides.

“K-Kazuma?! Now’s not the time for this sort of play!” Darkness shouts at you, yet despite her protest you can see her cheeks glowing crimson. The damned pervert.
“S-Shut up! I’m just showing Lord Freeza my abilities!” you shout back at her. “Don’t make this wierd!”
“Break Spell.” Aqua says, oblivious to the mood with her hand pointed towards the bound Crusader. You all watch as your harder than steel wire immediately goes limp and drops to the floor. Darkness looks longingly at it a moment, Freeza reappraising Aqua once again. Which is your moment to strike!

“Wind Breath!” you whisper, raising your left hand and blowing it at Freeza as you run forward. He turns the instant he sees you move, just to take a spray of dirt and sand directly into the eyes.
“You-?!” he snarls, but you’re not done yet, sliding behind him as his eyes are shut and activating Lurk the moment you get his wierd little hover pod between the two of you. And once in it’s shadow, you vanish.
>>
>>5271609
“That was a dirty trick.” you hear him grumble, the odd sounds of his staggering footsteps stopping after a moment. “Oh? You can conceal your presence from my senses as well? Interesting. So, where could you have gone?”

As he speaks, suddenly his hovership begins rising up off the ground. So you don’t even try to run elsewhere for cover, standing up and walking around the pod as he lifts it. Seeing you he smirks, slowly lowering his telekinetically-gripped pod.

“You have all the makings of an assassin.” Freeza says, you seeing disdain in his eyes. And seeing this, you decide to raise your right hand, pointing it at him.
“Create Water!” you call, firing a palm diameter-sized stream of water directly at him. He raises his right hand, catching your stream in his hand causing it to splash everywhere around him. Perfect. “FREEZE!”

Channeling the last of your magic power, you freeze the already-cold water you’d soaked him with. It solidifies almost instantly, Freeza’s eyes widening in surprise as you trap him in a block of ice. Now’s your chance for the skill Wiz taught you, a forbidden lich ability. Rushing forward, he sees you coming and you hear the ice crackling, so you circle around to his back. Where his tail snakes out, wrapping around your neck and immobilizing you.

CRASH

“Again, going for the back?” he asks smugly, your hands gripping his tail as he cuts off your air without just breaking your neck carefully. “And you say you’re not an assass-“
“Drain! Touch!” you call, activating your undead ability. Immediately strength rushes from the emperor into you, your depleted mp immediately refilling and going far past your usual limits. You feel your power surging, climbing higher and higher, and he then immediately spins and pitches you away. Before you can blink, you feel the wall slam into your back and your vision turns fuzzy as you flop to the floor. Everything is spinning, but with your power surging you rise back up to your feet, albeit unsteadily. “Heh, thanks for the refil.”

“What. Did you do. To me?” Freeza asks, his voice low and dangerous. Swaying on your feet, you then feel something soft and warm pressing into your side.
“Kazuma? C’mon Kazuma, stay awake.” a soft, soothing voice tells you. “Don’t pass out yet.”
“Hey, could you throw me like that?” you hear some pervert say, then feel your head clear almost instantly as a familiar goddess shouts, “Sacred Highness Heal!”
“Thanks Aqua.” you tell her, turning your full attention back to the Emperor of the Universe. “And that was my trump card, the Undead-class skill Drain Touch.”

“Drain? Touch?” Freeza asks, clearly wary of you now and standing ready to leap into action. “And what exactly does that attack do? Forcibly remove a living being's soul?”
“Not quite that dangerous. After all, it's only a beginner Undead skill. But it does allow me to slowly siphon off someone's life force, and even take that energy and send it into another willing being.” you say, with your arms away from your sides, palms-open so he can see you're not holding any other tricks back. “But to do so, I have to maintain contact with everyone involved. The instant my grip is broken, the ability ends.”
“I see...” Freeza says, a hand going to his chin as he ponders what you told him. “And here I thought you were only good for an assassin, but your toolkit does seem to possess a variety of skills. But, there is one more thing. You said that you could potentially learn anyone's abilities, is that correct?”

“Yes, if I can.” you reply, curious where he's going with this. You haven't seen Zarbon or Dodoria around, but is he wanting you to take on Zarbon's transformation? Or perhaps one of his many dangerous skills? “If the skill isn't class-restrictive, and I have the available skill points I can usually learn it.”
“Skill points?” he asks, raising a brow curiously. You slowly reach into your tunic, and draw out your Adventurer Card. Freeza's watching you intently, no doubt sensing another trick, but you look at your skill points and see that you have four whole points available. So you turn your card around, underlining your skill points available with your finger.
“Here. It says I have four skill points available to spend on skills.” you answer him. “Different abilities have different costs, the more powerful or complex abilities have greater costs.”
“I see. Very well, let us conduct an experiment.” Freeza says, holding his right hand out towards your allies. “How about we see if you can copy my Telekinesis technique?”

Then without waiting for an answer his hand closes as if grabbing onto something, Darkness letting out an 'eep' as he grabs and lifts her with telekinesis. You see her rise off her feet, arms and legs flailing as she tries futilely to get back to solid ground.

“Eeeh?! Kazuma, get me down! I don't like this!” Darkness calls, you seeing none of her usual enjoyment on her face as he raises her higher and higher. You then look back down at your adventurer card, and to your surprise see a new skill under the available skills section. It's there, spelled out for you: Telekinesis! And it only costs one skill point! You can't possibly pass this up!
“It worked!” you call out excitedly, reaching down and pressing the button to learn the skill. And just like that, you now know Telekinesis!

“Oho? Very well, show me.” Freeza says, setting the very disgruntled Darkness back down on the ground. “Prove that you have learned it.”
“I'll show you!” you call, and also reach out to Darkness with your hand. You can feel her hard body in your hand, but as you try and lift her realize a crutial component of his Telekinesis skill: you can only lift what you would otherwise be able to carry. And you couldn't even move in Darkness's armor, much less lift it all up and carry her in one hand. But there is one thing you can grab, and with a smirk reach out for it instead.
“Kazuma? Wait, what?!” your pervert crusader calls, as instead of trying to lift her entire body you grab onto her right arm, lifting it up over her head. “What are you doing?”

“You're too heavy for me to lift, but I can lift your arm.” you reply, then let it go as you see something else to grab. “Just like I can lift this.”
“Fueeeeh?”Yunyun exclaims as you grab the short sword at her hip and lift it clear, holding it upright in front of her. “K-K-Kazuma?”
“I see. You aren't strong enough to get the most use out of my ability, but you've certainly learned it.” the Emperor of the Universe says, amused. “Perhaps my ability will come in use for you, one day. However, before I let you all go, there is one more ability's compatibility I wish to check. This one is called Telepathy.”

“Wait, you know Telepathy as well?” you ask, genuinely surprised. In response Freeza just smirks, tapping the side of his head similarly to how Cell would as he thinks his words directly to your mind.
“Yes, I picked it up from General Karn.” Freeza answers, and as he continues speaking you realize his lips aren't moving. “He took it from one of Boros' men, when he was contracting under him and doing some undercover work.”
“That's such a good skill, I hope I can learn it.” you say, looking down at your Adventurer Card. And sure enough, it's right there for two skill points. You don't even hesitate, and press the button to learn that ability as well. You gaze at your card for a second, smirking at how profitable this trip has been already, then meet Freeza's gaze and begin speaking telepathically as well. “Looks like I can learn it as well. This is great!”
“It's an excellent ability, and now that you have it you shall be a far greater asset when we arrive on Namek.” he says telepathically, a wicked grin on his face. “Now, as for what I want you to do in return in the meantime...”

And suddenly you realize that joining Freeza's empire may not lead to the comfortable, relaxed lifestyle that you'd been hoping for.

>>5271687
>tfw one of them might recognize the other because their series debuted first
What a trip.
>>
>>5271802
Right? Aren’t time shenanigans just the absolute worst?
>>
>>5271809
Somewhere out there, Karn has solemnly nodded his head in agreement.
>>
>>5271927
Speaking of, I’m honestly surprised no one’s figured out what the ‘Ancient’ Gear machines were doing on New Salda.
>>
>>5272713
Robot orgy.
>>
>>5272718
That is the most incorrect answer yet
>>
>>5272713
just hanging out
>>
>>5272735
Actually closer to the truth. But not quite. This wasn’t a random event after all.
>>
>>5272720
Ghost robot orgy.
>>
>>5272757
Committing tax fraud.
>>
>>5272820
Ha, but no. Those machines don’t have ghosts.
>>5272829
HA! That’s more Vox’s speed
>>
>>5272871
.....is it tax evasion?
>>
How can Frieza be our bull when he doesn't have a cock? Does he fuck our girlfriend with his tail??? It is at least 2 feet long than our super saiyan cock...

I wish she would let us watch.
>>
>>5272874
That may be what Vox is up to, but if he is why would his creations attack someone who could just...show up? Ignoring all his defenses and just APPEAR beside him?
>>
>>5272888
Bad product he's hiding to scrap later.
>>
>>5272888
Also looks like we got a new shitposter again.
>>
>>5272878
You gave it your best shot, ESL-kun.
>>
>>5272903
Then dropping it on a planet with cameras going 24/7 would be a terrible place to drop, especially with Raxus Prime. The literal dumpster planet would be a better place to dispose of them.
>>
>>5272954
Hmmmm, I got nothing then.
>>
>>5272989
Well then, I guess you’ll have to wait for the new episode this weekend to find out.
>>
I'm willing to bet it's a unit either salvaged from the scrap yards or stolen from deep storage. My guess is that it's something to do with the goddamn Lin Kuei as well. Mayhaps a sort of false flag operation? I can't imagine what they'd be searching for on New Salda in any case. Probably one of the thousands of artifacts and relics we have on world at this point.

What if I told you, possibly spoiler, that: despite their aged appearance these are new machines?
>>
>>5273694
So Vox is going on an antique to rustic style binge? Its a nice ascetic at least.
>>
>>5273714
It’s a fitting aesthetic for what he’s planned to do with them
>>
>>5274040
Bring back Steampunk?
>>
>>5274196
Ha! I could see a cyberpunk-set quest where the main villain(or the MC’s boss) is trying to bring back steampunk by destroying all the competition, to counter the uglyness of the ultra-corporate, same-y world.
>>
>>5274217
Sounds cool.
>>
>>5274232
I’d read that campaign. But not now, as we’re finally closing in on a fight I’ve had ready for over a year now
>>
>>5274357
Wait, that long? Who the fuck are they here for?!

And it’s almost time, new episode in 24 hours!

>>5274371
Who would VOX’s machines possibly have shown up for?
>>5274532
Love that gif, classic
>>
>>5274896
Uhhhh, I can't remember what happened a year ago besides that goblin planeswalker showing up.
>>
>>5274977
Good times. But yeah that arc’s scope got way out of hand. Y’all grabbed every sidequest presented and at least had a little interaction into it except for two.
>>
>>5275208
Yeah...it was kinda wild. Great fun though. Which two did we miss?
>>
>>5275427
Well, one was related to Leyas and Sarada. The other, well...
>>
>>5275465
Damn you and your teasing!

Soon

>>5275506
Ha
>>
Is it just me or is there popup ads on 4chan now? I swear, if Vox is behind this...
>>
>>5276037
>he still gets ads
Where are your adblockers? Also HA, but he wouldn’t take a site that isn’t a good money maker
>>
>>5276069
4chan might not make money directly, but it is good for influencing potential customers and gathering consumer metrics.
>>
>>5276079
That's why he just has a few bots/shills present on SpaceChan, and doesn't directly own it himself. Like a lot of corporate entities do.
