Rolled 3, 40, 43, 40, 92, 90, 89, 2, 34, 90 = 523 (10d100)

I couldn't even read when the world ended, so I didn't know why the world was ending, and it took years for me to realize it had ended. Even worse, no one has really been able to explain to me why the world ended or even how. The people who knew wouldn't tell me or were not sure, and everyone else just suggested so many wild and different reasons. Big missiles with incredible destructive power, some kind of plague or a huge war.... Maybe creatures from another world landed and just started wiping us out?

A lot of people seem to think that when the world ends, that the ways of man and nature would no longer matter, and strange.... other things would come into our world.... That when we die we wouldn't actually go to the other place but would be trapped here.... Or we had been damned by God or Hell had opened up....

You think I would have more answers considering I'm training to be an administrator.

"Hey hey..... HEY! Snap the fuck out of it! Something has happened to the senior leader. There is a fucking situation! Come on already! I didn't mentor you all these years so you could fuck it up now!"

>Earlier
One of the things that anyone has to learn to understand this world, or perhaps any world, is that not everyone's the same. People are different, it’s just how it is. Not only are people different, but things are different too, and capabilities are different. However, I’ll detail that and explain it to you when I can. Right now I need to focus on the basics. Once you understand how ANY group functions, you can understand how WE function.

>Merchants:
“Merchants” is a catch-all term for groups that currently have an abundance of things to trade and have value, while also having strong negotiation skills. They might be the survivors or descendants of groups that were wealthy before all of this darkness started… Or perhaps they were just groups that got to shelter first or scavenged a stockpile first.

They have Good Stockpiles, Good Negotiation, Average Manufacturing Capacity, Poor Research, and Poor Martial Training

Exception: Merchants can recruit other people with martial capabilities beyond what they have "organically", meaning inside their own faction without any help.

>Fundamental Understanding of Value:
When the Merchant faction interacts with another faction, it rolls as “Great” whenever it tries to figure out the other party’s surpluses or figure out the other party’s shortages. At the same time they roll “Great” for Trade/Barter checks, and every time they trade they learn at least one shortage and one surplus of another party.

>Civilian Administration:
This is another vague term, which mostly refers to the descendants of previous government groups or “civil-servants”, along with recently created organizations with similar function.

They have Average Stockpiles, Good Negotiation, Poor Manufacturing Capacity, Average Research, and Average Martial Training

>Legitimacy, Rhetoric, and Politics:
When the Civilian Administration faction interacts with another faction, it rolls as “Great” whenever it tries to “improve relations” or “ask a favor”. The faction also rolls as “Great” when it is “recruiting”.
>>
>>5286094
>Martial Organizations:
You can also just call all these “Militaries and Paramilitaries”. These are the survivors of previous military or paramilitary forces, along with various groups of mercenaries, armed militias, and bands of paranoid “survivalists” who waited things out inside bunkers. Those would be the survivalists who “stack deep” ammunition and firearms, rather than soap, precious metals, and hunting supplies..

They have Average Stockpiles, Average Negotiation, Poor/Good Manufacturing Capacity, Poor Research, and Good Martial Training

Exception: The Martial Organizations have “Good” capabilities for manufacturing or using “Materials”, “Supplies” or “Finished Goods” that are weapons, armor, munitions, first-aid, combat medicine, or rations. Everything else, they are “Poor” at trying to make or use.

>I'm a hero, Tell me of which novel:
When the Martial Organization tries to “intimidate” another faction, it rolls as “Good”. When interacting with a weaker faction, especially one with enemies, the faction can “offer protection”. This faction is now a “Protectanet” and when dealing with them, the faction rolls “Great” when it is “recruiting” or “asking for donations”.

>Scientists:
They generally prefer to be called “Researchers”, “Academics”... but the way things are going… They’re just going to be “Scribes” soon enough. These are what remains of the highly educated and those with access to actual civilian technology, to the standards of a small college or high school at the very least. At the same time, they’re likely to have good populations of mechanics and engineers as well… Sigh, we need to find a better word for these people.

They have Average Stockpiles, Average Negotiation, Good/Average Manufacturing Capacity, Good/Average Research, and Poor Martial Training

Exception: The Scientists can recruit mercenaries with martial capabilities beyond what they have "organically".

They also have “Good” capabilities manufacturing or using “Materials”, “Supplies” or “Finished Goods” that are not weapons, munitions, or armor. The same goes for their ability to do Research.

>Chalk Is Not A Rare Resource:
When scientists interact with another faction, they are “Good” at Negotiation involving “Technology” or “Parts” required. This includes “Barter/Trade” mostly. They also have the ability to “offer to do research”, “rent technology”, or “sell research”.

I got two other people to play it as well and we agreed that the Krinkov/Suchka was missing. We also ported over three factions over, we had Polis as a faction that had a half discount on basic AND advanced equipment.

This go is doing considerably worse than ones where I dropped a lot more lore and information on people, so either the timing is all wrong..... or people again "Report they want a 'strong, dark coffee, but consistently prefer the light, milky coffee".

I already have the map mostly finished. There will be no details or explanations for the map until it's time or someone convinces me otherwise.

Do you have your own factions made or can we make our own?
If our scientists were working on hover tanks do they get hover tanks?
>>
>>5286857
>Do you have your own factions made or can we make our own?
Some things are dependent on the source material (Factions ripped), some thing are dependent on the dice rolls. At the moment, what should be the main focus is that sub-factions are very much a thing.

For example, "The Zone" before the world ended had strong divisions within the "organized" bandit community. Leaders came and went, traveling parties did their own thing, and then there was "The Renegades". Former militaries have splintered as many ways, even in small areas.
>If our scientists were working on hover tanks do they get hover tanks?
Access to the most advanced equipment is dependent on dice rolls, location, local factions (Who might've had the equipment instead), and other factors.

Vehicles are currently in extremely low supply.

All those alarming dice rolls. Damn made me think it was something else. No bandits or survivalists. So I'm gonna vote for the one that is the hardest to kill which is

>Martial Organizations

I would prefer cockroach factions since I don't know what I'm getting into. Otherwise I would prefer merchants since they know how to trade and be diplomatic but I don't know this setting at all so I got nothing to go on. Ergo hard to kill wins to better survive mistakes.
>>

Baltic Frontier
An outpost on the borders of the “Baltic Survivor States”, where factions, cities, and salvage sites are few…. But raw materials and open space are plentiful. The area is a good mixture of woodlands, streams, fields, and general nature.
Chernobyl Exclusion Zone
An area with more salvage and more factions competing with each other… but still a reasonable supply of timber, wild animals, and most mysterious of all… “artifacts”. Some old buildings from decades long past are in the area, and some recent construction has added to that.
Russian Underground Metro System, Major Russian City
Moscow and Saint Petersburg both have extensive, fortified “metro” systems. They are not as strong and extensive as the complex, bunker system in Finland (A bunker under every house, and a tunnel under every street), but both of these systems are enough to support plenty of people. Raw materials are at a premium in these areas, but there are huge stockpiles of the most advanced weapons and technology in hidden areas and vaults.

Not really. It's just the dead killy factions and the bandits had the simplest playstyles. Anons manage to successfully master a few other civ types but admittedly they did die a lot in order to do so. Even Genie admitted he never mastered the Bandit playstyle despite it being the simplest to play apparently it was actually the hardest to master.

Obviously, survivalist factions are the best for newbies or if you don't know what to expect cause they are the hardest to kill but they are seen as 'less exciting' than other alternatives.

If we are locked scientists then might I recommend we have a focus on something practical? I’m thinking pharmaceutical development, a not-Pfizer lab, famous in the pre apocalypse specifically for making not-viagra, hair loss remedies, and things to help you quit smoking. Only when the apocalypse hit and we were forced underground did we turn our attention to wholesale apocalypse relevant chemical synthesis, things like aspirin, crystal methamphetamine, isopropyl alcohol, and of course boner pills. Unbound by “ethics” and “regulators” there are all sorts of fun things that can be made rather simply by men of this caliber.

Red Alert Alarm Sound Effect

"ARMORY HAS BEEN LOST! ALL UNITS TO ARMS! ALL UNIT TO ARMS! ARMORY HAS BEEN LOST"

The junior administrator lifts his head off the ground... Urggg, my head. As he looks around the room with his blurry eyes, blinking a few times, his vision returns to him. The room is incredibly hot and the sirens are blaring, causing his head to pound. His eyes go wide as he realizes he is a few feet from huge flames.... Where the fuck is my bed?. Junior realizes that he sleeps really close to the armory, which.... Appears to have gone up in flames....... There are loud gunshots down a hallway... As he looks around he sees a supply clerk sitting with his back to a wall, next to the door, trying to reload .410 shotshells into a compact shotgun revolver. Thankfully, he is wearing a steel helmet and he has on a 6B3 vest, which likely has steel plates in the front and back.... Enough to stop most assault rifle rounds... Did I get throne across the room into my clothing?. Junior starts fumbling around in drawers to get his own vest and helmet on, before he pulls out his load .410 revolver.

Junior's .410 revolver was manufactured to be carried by judges, so the story goes. The legends are that judges would be kidnapped, held at gunpoint, and intimated by the criminal underworld of some far-away place. The Americans thought the weapon was a toy.... But.... five .38 caliber pellets....Center mass... A spread the size of a fist....Was something to take notice of...... The gun was not exactly practical....but what about in the instance of an attempted car-jacking.....or if someone tried to kill you while you were sleeping? Just one person....Up close... Who you wanted to die instantly......

The weapon only held five rounds, so it had pretty easy paperwork to obtain, provided you waited enough years and had a clean enough record.....There was also the odds that the pellets would have a harder time going through walls......And so the weapon was decently plentiful....

>.410 Bore Revolver
3 damage
50 meters range

The 6Б3 Vest started production up in the 1980s, but production started up again in the 2000s. It was just cotton and nylon, not even ballistic Nylon. Inside was supposed to be titanium plate that could stop most assault rifle rounds.... But this vest was repaired over and over...and inside was a surface hardened plate....Anything that hit it would fragment and the fragments would bounce off....With the foam layer to try and trap some of that shrapnel, it was 10 kilograms all together...

Junior had never seen the Finnish or been there, what if Finland was not a real place? What about reviving the old empires and ideologies? What about uniting Eurasia against the Westerners, like the Baltic States? Wasn't The West, the enemy? Someone had to fire the doomsday weapons at Saint Petersburg and Moscow....

The flames began to flicker out at what remained of the armory.... We're going to need a new supply of weapons.... There might be factories or parts on the surface or here underground somewhere.... But Moscow was the biggest and best supplier.

"What do we know about the Fins?"

"The Fins?..... The Clerk tries to think for a moment, before returning his attention to the door. They were prepared for all of this... Something about being afraid of invasion and extremely neutral. There whole nation is one big Metro and they didn't get hit with any doomsday weapons......"

"Wha-Where exactly is all this recent incoming trade coming from? You're sorting it, was it labeled?"

"We're right up against the border and close to two seas...our station certainly..... Its gotta be the Fins.... Or the other stations.... Moscow is just so far away....And the rail-lines to them are all hosted in the south.....

"Do the Fins have weapons factories?"

"I know they had a huge army and lots of suppliers.... If they are not making it, their supplies can be traded for weapons salvaged, repaired, or manufactured from the other stations.......... What are you thinking?"

"We need to side with the head advisor.... We've got big stockpiles..... I'd like to keep having jam on crackers. They'll be the quickest way to rearm.".

The raid option feel like it will do little with the 2 of us. Staying put lets us build a bubble to work from. Head advisor is good if we want to have an upper level experience piece to use. Assassination mission would be the best for quick end. Assuming the Colonel is the main drive for that faction. I'm overthinking this, but once I get a feel for the path our faction is going that will help.

Junior and the clerk manage to get past most of the recruits.....and then even the guards standing around the Colonel. However, as soon as he looks at you, he suspects something is wrong and attempts to shoot you. Either that or he wants to have complete and total control. Luckily for you, you were preparing to shoot him, so you shove him and then dive into cover. Without his shotgun, he is down to his pistol, his training, and his armor.

You and the clerk are only moderately trained in firearms, and these are close range pistols with short barrels. However, the lack of accuracy is made up for with their spread. The two of you start firing as quickly and as accurately at him as you can. One, two, three blasts each.... But the rounds are harmlessly pinging off his armor... In a moment of panic, at such close ranges, barely half a second to think, you aim higher for his head. He changes location and you end up shooting him in the thigh, blowing out a chunk of meat. Groaning out, he raises his pistol with one hand to fire back at the two of you.

After dumping his entire magazine, he misses both of you entirely, not even hitting your armor or the cover you're trying to take. Opening up your cylinder, you put in a single round, closing it, and then clicking your recover as fast as you can. BANG! The last handful of pellets hits him right in the face, killing him instantly. The two of you quickly start pulling out shells from your chests, trying to force them into your revolvers. Looking around from your hiding place, you realize you are in an empty room with the dead Colonel.

Someone, who you think you recall being an officer or something, stormed into the room. Kicking down the door, he apparently instantly saw the body and took cover by the door way. After that Junior's heart was pounding as he unloaded his cylinder, the clerk emptying the shotgun and then his own revolver. The two youths are hugging their cover as they scramble to reload, they didn't hear the pellets fly over their head as they shot and they don't hear them as they reload. The "elite guard" blindfires his shotgun into the room, but Junior manages to accidently shoot him in both his hands.... at the same time..... Screaming and howling in agony, Junior's panicking blasting away manages to hit him in the face as well.

Once the smoke has cleared, there is fourty .410 shells on the ground, sixteen 12 bore shells, an empty magazine for the PM Makarov....and blood stained on the walls and floors from people getting shot in the face. Panting and looking around, the clerk did not easily recover from the aftermath, and perhaps he won't..... The fear, the carnage....

At the end of the day "Junior" decides to go over the records by himself, with a few of the others.

>Population numbers
Around 200, even after the fighting. 50% of the population is between the ages of 15 and 45. On paper and according to what the head administrator says, there are 100 "military age adults", with roughly half of them being "military age males". Only 30 of the males are listed as "professional soldiers" and they appear to have better training then everyone else, such as the clerk. People like the clerk are part-time and are listed as "support staff". Officially, this community is a Russian internal security company... along with rotated out retired soldiers, people's children stationed on base.

There were a lot of arguments about women being part of the military, but both sides of that argument are mostly dead now. The most conservative are dead and the most militarist are dead too. All in all about 10 people are dead now

Junior writes down in his "master notebook" that he has '2 population units".

This character draws or begins using this specific weapon, before all other units get to act, even units with faster reflexes and/or smaller weapons.

This character also ignores all penalties to do critical hits, inside 10 meters (A room) and "automatically crits" at the bottom half of their success number (3 or less)

Respected
About 60% of the credit for the two kills is assigned to "Junior" and he killed both of them while outmatched in terms of weapons, armor, experience and training.

The trains mostly don't work, so it's a long ass walk or pushing on the railway pump-cars to get anywhere.

>Buildings

>Nourishment Buildings
Reasonable mushroom farms, reasonable cricket farms (For feeding chickens or grinding into flour, Greenhouse [Sunlight is bounced from the surface], Deep Well, Water Processing Facility (Mostly a room where water is boiled after being poured into barrels of sand and charcoal), Cannery (Place where jars and wax is kept), Mess-Hall, Cafeteria (Really just a soup kitchen attached to the Mess Hall).
>Medicine Buildings
First Aid Building (Behaves more like an ER with combat medics on hand), Attached "Family Clinic"
Herbs are grown as part of the Greenhouse, Alcohol stills are used to clean wounds, Area to wash bandages, Soap production (Plastic bin in a unused bathroom)

"I'm what?"

"I obviously can't be the senior leader and the second...senior leader is also dead.

The Head Administrator is one of the oldest and most experienced, most educated and wise of the people in "The Company". He's very clearly too old to be shooting anyone and been rotated out years ago, before Junior was even born.

"As Russians... We used to look to the Romans for ideas...and I think it's time to do it again...... You and I will run the day to day affairs of The Company....as equals.... Mostly in responsibility... You are still an undereducated youth.... But I suppose I will leave the speeches and foolhardy raids to you.....

Junior had left his teens not to long ago, and while he was considered a man about 5 years ago, he was aware there was a time where it would be illegal for him to be part of a military unit... That it would be considered barbaric....

"Okay, so what do you need me to do?"

"I...." The senior administrator puts his own hand on his chest. The two of them stare back at each other through their glasses, obtained from years of trying to read in bad lighting conditions...or trying to read period. "I will be handling the day to day stuff and all the things I did before.... You, will... Do the big, flashy public stuff....and some of the paperwork.....

"Where do I start?"

"We'll worry about that when you find some....

2. You could try to scout in any of the directions from our station.....

5. Research....We could try to figure things out....but we're really bad at that.... At least everyone can read....

6. We could train...No wait....Everyone is trained as much as they can be....and we're low on ammunition....

7. We could salvage.... Maybe you could pick that tunnel that opened up recently....Or we could try sending a small team to the surface."

Best to do a sweep of the tunnels before a poke a sleeping bear. Once we know things are worth putting the man power into. I believe we can then put salvaging teams into action.

>Green, Negative outcomes avoided

"Junior" gave out a sigh and cracked his knuckles as he leaned back into the chair in his new office. His office was in the main command center for the facility, where the Senior Leader had once been.

"Make the first objective.... that we should salvage what we can from that tunnel.........." The messanger wrote this down and turned to leave, before he he heard "Wait...and have the rest of the company's energy devoted to scouting that tunnel....perhaps first or around the same time.... I don't want our security to be exposed or for the salvage teams to be too vulnerable."

>Six days later

Junior was at the location of the tunnel and inspecting it.... Due to darkness and the limited supply of guards.... The was able five professionals here and every member of the crews involved were armed as well as they could be. Batons, Bayonets, pistols, .410 revolvers, 20 gauge pump action shotguns.

"Report!"

A man in his 30s with a cap under his steel helmet, went stiff, clamped his feet together, and saluted him. Junior saluted back and then lowered his arm and hand.

"We have almost entirely salvaged the entire area for materials, Sir! The track has been cleared and we have temporary roadblocks out to this area. I don't like it Sir, our crank-lamps and headlights only can illuminate this area so much. We only got ambushed by...... something...a few times....A few shotgun blasts scared it off...Whatever it was..... We also have a few pounds of dead rats we need to finish soaking clean, butcher, smoke, and store. The smoking process is taking time...."

"Excellent news. Have you found.... fuck.." Junior could not remember the technical terms. ".Is that all you have found?"

"No, we found a large number of mining tools that need to be bent back into shape and derusted....... We found a huge supply of worn out books, used up masking tape, old but not rusted wire, expired sacks of pasta...., and a bunch of cans of lard that is no longer safe to eat."

"If I were to put all of this down as units, how many units do we have? Is that it?"

"We have about 20 deci units or 2 units of this stuff, Sir. We also found 4 units of stone and gravel, but have been only able to harvest about 2 so far.

"This is also good news.....Even with our primitive capabilities, we can convert a lot of this junk and scrap into.... thing again...."

>In the Past

"Everything that is not a finished good or supplies or equipment, any of that stuff.....is "Materials". There are two or three kinds of materials....

Components
These are things like Duck tape, paper, baling wire, solder, nails, screws..... Even scrap metal might count as components...... animal bones, hides, fat, and skin can be made into glue or soap...so that can count as well......

Resources
resources are the kinds of things you put a name to, such as Wood, Black Powder, Loose Tobacco and Herbs. Anything natural or harvested is resources, so is ore or ingots from ore.

Parts
You have your standard parts, gears, clockwork, and such. You have electronic parts, wires, dials, knobs..... Maybe a broken firearm you can repair counts too...... But that would be labeled as it's own specific thing.

Supplies
This is stuff like canned food, and when I say canned, I mean like put in a jar. The can is named after the process, so there is metal canning and glass jar canning. Bandages are supplies, pure alcohol has to be paired with it though....... Medicine...... Cigarettes .....

You have 2 basic actions per turn to dedicate to whatever you want to get done. Using them both on the same thing provides bonuses.

>1. Construction
This would require both units of stone, additional space, and some of the Components.
Currently the only available building location is between the two stations, which is a fairly wide tunnel.
>Scouting
You can try the same direction of North as before, or try a new direction, such as the surface.
>Interact or Negotiate
You have not met anyone yet.
>Manufacturing
We have about ten 12 bore shotguns that need to be repaired. The wood and stocks are still good, but the magazine tubes, springs, bolt, barrel, and sights need replaced.
We also have the ability to make multiple pounds of black powder at a time. We have a lot of old shotshells, old paper, wax, and other materials. We could make ammunition....
>>
>>5288995
>Research
Firearms Manufacturing Research
We have enough skilled gunsmiths to repair basically any broken firearm that we have the most difficult and expensive parts for. We can manufacture our own barrels, cut our own wood furniture...cast, mill, and stamp our own receivers.. We don't have any refined iron or wood to make most of this
Armor Manufacturing Research
We have not studied what materials and can stop what bullets, besides reading the plates and labels of armor that was standard military issue. We suspect if we could make a plate of steel hard enough, it could be cut into rifle plates....
Munitions Manufacturing Research
We can currently reload steel or brass casings, make bullets of lead, hardcast lead, copper or soft steel. We can reload shotshells and make paper cartridges. We can make black powder and salvage expired propellent, or break down ammunition for propellent and casings.
Civilian Research
We have no really looked into this, so we have no idea what we are capable of

>Training
Everyone is trained as much as they can be

>Salvage
We've salvaged as much of that area north of us in the tunnels. After that point it's too dark and too far away for now. We have three other directions and the surface. Those areas are not explored well, and those three tunnels are mostly already salvaged or decently dangerous.

We have Average Stockpiles, Average Negotiation, Poor/Good Manufacturing Capacity, Poor Research, and Good Martial Training

Exception: The Martial Organizations have “Good” capabilities for manufacturing or using “Materials”, “Supplies” or “Finished Goods” that are weapons, armor, munitions, first-aid, combat medicine, or rations. Everything else, they are “Poor” at trying to make or use.

Tabak had been in partially in charge for almost two weeks now. At the repair shop, which was by the reloading bench, the powder room, and the blacksmith facilities... He was talking to the person that was in charge of this objective he ordered.

"What is the progress so far?"

The head craftsman, an elderly man pulled up a tarp over a table covered in finished guns.

"We managed to repair all of the 12 bores, so there is enough for all of our professionals to have one...... While we were at it.... We managed to make about 50 pounds of black powder, enough to make over 5000 shotgun shells. We ran out of reusable and repairable hulls, but we managed to make a few thousand from waxed paper...... That's enough to provide what should be a drawn out combat loadout for 100 people..... Obviously, about half the shells we made are .410......"

Junior blinked a few times, before looking around quickly, and then at the head craftsman.

"Why do you look like you've given me bad news?"

"We're completely out of paper, wax, lead, metal, firearms parts, and everything else we used.

There was a couple people in hazmat suits and great coats, lying slumped back in various chairs or leaned against walls sitting. They had their gas-masks on their laps or hanging from their necks. As Junior stepped in, they gave exhausted, tired salutes. A lot of them were fit women or the selection of men not cutout for the professional military life. It was a difficult journey to the surface and back down.

"Report."

One of the women was still panting, and she looked up, tired, before nodding a few times.

"We were not able to get very far on the surface, despite multiple trips.... There is some shattered glass we could salvage...... Maybe enough scrap and random items to be a unit...of umm.."

"Components."

"Yes Components. The wiring might be fried, but we could try stripping it later..... There were some metal drawers and frames we could metal down or repurpose........ We honestly did not get very far...... We're completely out of filters and.... we're not outfitted to reset them...... But we did find 30 homemade double barrel shotguns......"

>Later on

Tabak re-meets with the Head Craftsman and shows him the used up filters, which were carried in a bin by less important people.

"Well......." He says looking them over and his notes. "Half the supplies needed are charcoal, which is procurable from wood or using our stockpiles......The other thing we need is Calcium Chloride"

"How do we get Calcium Chloride?"

"We need to limestone with hydrochloric acid.

Junior is already taking notes of this and trying to wrap his head around what is beginning to sound like an involved process.

"So we need a unit of stone, a unit of charcoal....and.... How do we get hydrochloric acid?"

"We need hydrogen and chorline to mix together." The head craftsmen looks up and sees a blank stare from Junior. We can get the hydrogen from running current into water inside a Secondary School quality chemistry lab..... But hydrogen gas is invisible and highly flammable..... The chorine we can get from some kind of chemical reaction involving salt.....I think we need to run a current through salt...but if we mess up.... Chorine is a chemical weapon....and pure sodium gets very hot and agitated if it gets wet at all......"

"So we need.... one unit of charcoal, one unit of stone, one unit of water, one unit of salt,.....and access to what remains of a Secondary School....."

"It might be easier to find the ingredients or most of them, and pay another station to refill the filters for us..."

We currently know there is salvage on the surface, but we can't get to it.

The traveler has an SKS with a detachable 30 round magazine and a guard of about 9 other men, equipped with a mixture of the same and semi-auto shotguns. They came on three "pump carts". There was a lot of pointing of guns and shining lights into the darkness, but after that things have cooled down with the guards at the northern tunnel.

The leader claims to be from the station just north of you, he says their connection to the rest of the area has been blocked off for years.

>Rolling for his station.

He says he is Matvei Aleksandrov, and his team with him are professional explorers known as "Stalkers". His station is very well rounded and appears to be just a community of survivors with no specific strengths or weaknesses, except that it has his team and a strong stockpile of mechanical parts salvaged from the surface. He doesn't immediately bring up anything his station or himself is desperate for, so you'll have to figure out what he wants and be careful if you want to trade.

His team is also quite armed and armored, better than any of your own guard teams. They might be reasonably or well trained too.

Try to interact more with the stalkers. Our means to salvage and reach the surface are limited, and they clearly are good at salvaging the surface. Discuss offering our military expertise in manufacturing. If they can supply us components, or even raw materials, they could outsource us to turn them into weapons. In turn, perhaps we can negotiate their services in obtaining materials or exploring. Worse comes to worse, we are extra hands and bodies able to help around just about anything, if its extra musclepower or manpower in said exploration missions. Be a good neighbor

We have already explored north as far as we can safely go, and have salvaged the surface. Let's explore the south underground now. We need to recoup all that stuff we used to make the shotguns.

Matvei Aleksandrov, was open to your suggestions, simply based on the reasoning of them. He did not care what your intentions were or what your disposition was. while his team has better equipment, he can easily see the large numbers of armed people and the recently repaired firearms. When he is shown the box of used up filters, he admits that his station and the next over have limited ability to reset filters. His team only has enough time on their own filters for one set of trips to the surface.

Over the course of the week, he is able to go back to his station and then return. He had left saying he couldn't make promises with his station, but he returns with letters and good news. His people have a selection of broken weapons and weapons parts they are willing to sell, and his team is also willing to help you salvage for about a week (+2d100 to salvage), in exchange for a cut (33%) of what they find.

Matvei Aleksandrov says that the station north of him, shot at him at around 100 yards, almost hitting him. His team was forced into cover in the darkness and a large team of about 20 women took him hostage. They had Tactical SKS'es with scopes, 20 gauge Revolver Shotgun Carbines, Bizons, and 5.45 Kalashnikovs. He's under the impression that they are ruled by a woman or women, or have a high female population. His team had to... make certain concessions, but they have a reasonable trading situation now. His team and that station figured out how to reset filters and have been doing that, but they are both low on the materials and it costs extra for labor.

His team has about 30 pipe pistols and 30 damaged 9.6x53mm Lancaster Mosin Shotguns, with the ammunition for each. The pipe pistols were broken for parts and components, casings for the shotguns need to be reloaded with fresh powder. He's willing to sell the shotgun parts and all the materials he has for them, in exchange for Three Units of Components. He will accept a unit of Salt or Stone as having the value of a unit of Components. He will accept charcoal as well, for the same value. Oh, and he says that the required powder could be manufactured by you, the other two stations will supply the materials, but they want 3/4ths the powder produced.

>Scouting South
The scouting team and the south guards report in that they found a side tunnel that could qualify as a source of stone. If the mining tools were repaired, the stone could be mined. Due to darkness and difficulty digging through rocks, they were able to discover a pile of salvage.... but they were not able to bring anything back. They saw what could be tools, parts, or broken weapons. Certainly a lot of components and gravel.

If our filters are getting fix, this should do. A little worried about our lighting for going back to the north tunnel. But we do have the south tunnel to work on for hopefully stable supply of stone.

>>5290092
How about seeing if the can fix the mining tools in the trade deal as well? So we can make a long term deal with the stone we get.

After this turn and assuming the tool are repaired. We can probably construct an outpost for the stone in the south side tunnel.

Note to self, for balance and logic reasons I am halfling the price of food. Take mental notes that hungry groups will consider food at double the usual value now.

>Nourishment Consumables
Balanced Meal (2 weeks production and use):
A balanced meal provides slightly elevation in morale, health, and happiness. It is produced daily and consumed daily in proportions suitable for 200 people. It requires 1 unit of Raw Food, 1 unit of Vegetables, 1 unit of Charcoal, and 3 units of Water (Deep Well and Water Cleaning operation is at peak usage). The production cycle runs for two weeks for the Material/Resources provided. It's value is about 12 units of Wood or Components

So I don't have to constantly post what our supplies are and so on, I will have a Google doc people can comment/suggest for.... as where I will keep records for that.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_jslqd1c_oAGvYU4TIma5dYu80Er9Z0kfamClOn5bX0/edit?usp=sharing

It's also how we will keep track of what things cost, how to craft things, and perhaps where we are on various tech trees.

If you roll high enough, I will automatically update the thing, otherwise you're stuck keeping track of things by suggesting on your own.

Junior had devoted spare and active manpower to salvaging the buildings that were on the surface. Since only the STALKER team could go up there, the people ended up designing pulley, crane, and decontamination areas. They had recovered 30 "Borz" machine pistols (-1 to hit), around the same number of steel breastplates....like worn by assault engineers during WW2, and about the same number of mostly fixable "ham" radios. There was 5 units of Parts and 15 whole units of Components. Matvei Aleksandrov insisted that his men make off with the "ham" radios, but the rest was left for "The Company".

Junior and Matvei go to the local firing range to test out some of the Borz machine pistols, along with one of the "dud" steel breastplates. An uncontrolled burst comes out and then the weapon jams for Matvei, the same happens to Junior after he's emptied half a magazine.

"Hahahah, the magazine barely works at all, but the ammunition still fires!"

Junior looks at his smoking machine pistol, which seems to fire 9x18mm Makarov and have the same range as a pistol, the fire-rate and magazine capacity of an SMG. "I think my people can figure out how to fix these, and then they will be good as new. Perhaps the scrapped parts from the weapons we found last week can be used."

"That's the spirit!" Matvei pats him on the back and smiles, before pointing at the breastplate hanging from a dummy. "The bullet has pinged off at less than 10 meters! So these middle age knights armor provide some protection after all!"

Junior scrunched up his nose and brow, wondering where he would use or sell such heavy and barely protecting armor.

"Hey... You could come by sometime, maybe meet the Ebony Arachnid, leader of the Amazons!..... Oh well, I have to go now. I'll likely be back later."

The group of STALKERs load their cut into their "pump-carts". The radios, the two units of stone, and the unit of charcoal. He's left behind the 30 damaged 9.6x53mm Lancaster Mosin Shotguns and materials, as agreed upon.

A wave of tired and dirty refugees from the west tunnel have entered into the station. There is no room for them in the stations further north, and so they are moved into the tunnel between The Company's two stations. The people are mostly able to work, after they can be cleaned and fed, given tents or blankets or something...... But now there are problems with resources, space, security, and organization.

>At the "Parade Ground", later that week

"Order! Order! The leaders are about to speak. Shut the fuck up you dogs!" Yells the incredibly old and snarly looking "head advisor".

The room goes quiet, as old women and children stare at the head advisor. A few boys and teenagers chuckle, some older men, adults, and adult women roll their eyes. Considering that refugees means danger and having to be more careful with resources, along with the fact that the settlement has people outside the "traditional command structure"....An actual system of order has to be arranged now.

>Decision time, first two in to 3 or most in 23 hours

Political System

Declare State of Emergency (State of War/Martial Law)
+ Cost of professional and part time soldiers decreases to minimal cost, ability to conscript at will is available.
+ Increased Order, protestors and spies get arrested
+ Walking patrols through the two stations
-
- Automated Organic Production Decreases 25-50%
- Some orders take longer to carry out (1-3 days)

OR

Limited Democratic Institutions
+Automated Organic Production Decreases 25-50%
+Some orders take longer to carry out (1-3 days)
+Decrease to Infant/Child Morality of 50%
+Food production increases 50%
+Food consumption (Mostly waste) drops 25%
-
-Cost of professional soldiers increases noticeably
-Civilian Oversight (Technically you're the civilian administration so you oversee yourself)
-Require Consensus to go to War (You shot the two officers, who would lead anyone in war anyways)

Economic System

Y/N (No means nothing changes and you have ultra simple economic system instead like now)

Increase Oversight of Resources
+Decrease to Infant/Child Morality of 50%
+Food production increases 50%
+Food consumption (Mostly waste) drops 25%
+50% more Industry (1d100 Civilian Manufacturing, 3d100 Military Manufacturing)
-
- Automated Organic Production Decreases 25-50%
- Some orders take longer to carry out (1-3 days)
>>
>>5290685
Let's see
5 Parts - 33% is about 3 Parts
15 -33% is about 10 new Components
30 "Borz" machine pistols (broken but fixable).

A fantastic haul!

>He's left behind the 30 damaged 9.6x53mm Lancaster Mosin Shotguns
I am confused. Is that all the same gun and is that 30 shotguns + 30 machine pistols?

For the scale of the game timespan will pop growth matter? Junior is probably going to die if we're talking multiple generations.

Each turn being a week I don't believe pop growth by babies necessarily more advantageous than recruitment.
>>
>>5290693
By "Organic Production" I presume you mean organically grown non-foodstuffs. Plants for fuels and chemicals or drugs or stuff.

I vote:
>>Increase Oversight of Resources
At this early stage in the game, while we have peace, manufacturing and industry will do us well. We're getting new mouths to feed and hands to work anyway. Increasing our manufacturing means better trade with the Stalkers and also potentially opening up to the Amazons as well, but also means we can arm our new people better even if we can't yet conscript them
>>
>>5290698

>Lancaster Mosin Shotguns
Just realized you are speaking of one type of gun. A shotgun, of the Mosin Company, firing lancaster shells. Didn't realize Mosin made shotguns. Neato.

Question all three options say:
"Automated Organic Production Decreases 25-50%"
but for Limited Democratic Institutions it's treated as a +. Why is this?
>>
>>5290703
I'm a tad bit worried about the amazons, to be honest. Gotta wonder about what happened to all their men...if the bandit pop was higher I would have been convinced they were a female bandit faction. Instead still rather concerned but they seem to not be entirely hostile and are interested in males...but like I said wtf happened to all their goddamn men? They are also scarily well armed, trained, and even got the drop on the Stalkers. I highly doubt they are going to leave us alone if they are hurting that badly for men and just gained a new exploration option for themselves.

I don't know about the stalkers though. I would think that they are either STALKER as in Anomaly hunters but in which case they are awfully far away from where they should be. Otherwise, are we talking Metro style? Either way, it would mean they are mean sons of bitches. At least they seem friendly.

>>5290700
Yeah, we can't rely upon passive population growth because of that. We also don't exactly have the room for actual recruitment drives. Everyone is living in barracks and has a shared soup kitchen. We are heavily militarized but we have no steady supply of materials or tools to expand. Not to mention as a military faction all we are good for is muscle but...we lost our entire armory and the area isn't dangerous enough that we can offer our services to others easily. The optimum goal would be to find a think tank or merchants and offer our services but in this area would even they even need our protection? All we have to offer is our expertise and we don't have the gear to go with it.
>>

It would seem the Stalkers intend to turn us into a munitions depot and arms supply station. Makes sense. Enough military guys to protect it without relying upon your own people and they have the expertise to make everything without ripping you off like proper merchants.

>>5290693
Question what skills do the refugees have(as in what types of factions do they originate from)?
As that will have a huge impact on what we should do in terms of reforms. All our guys are grunts and meatheads whose only interest in manufacturing and trade is limited solely to logistics that involve killing things better and staying alive. If they are bandits or fellow meatheads no reason to change or go with martial law.

They are a band of reasonably educated craftsmen, engineers and scientists, just trying to add more technology, equipment, and reason to the world! You can see the old and young among them, the female and male. They clutch at what books and materials they had been able to flee from their homes with.

"We have fled the two stations of The Leningrad Revolutionary Soviet Workers Commune! It's horrible! Horrible! They've banned religion and open trade! We've been blacklisted and beaten under the accusations of being traitors, counter-revolutionaries, and Jews! I think I was even called a member of the 'snobbish intelligensi'! They have armor just like yours, machineguns, rifles, and everything is converted to wartime production!"

Junior ends up spending a whole minute wrestling with an old guy, who is trying to take his revolver from him, so he can commit suicide.

We rolled good on our starting region. The threats are reduced, and we have a trading partner that could be future ally. As long as we don't go to war prematurely, we can work on improving our overall situation and it might endear us to our fellow bunker dwellers.

They also offset each other well. The loss and gain in automated food production will hopefully even out, we gain 100% in manual food turns, -50% food consumption from loss, and big decrease to child mortality which will be good for morale. Now and again we may need to spend actions to make food, but they will be very effective actions. And that's a very juicy military manufacturing bonus!

Understandable worries about the Northern Amazons. Although now we have another threat with the west "The Leningrad Revolutionary Soviet Workers Commune". Get the feeling our siding with tolerance will not agree with their ideology.

I'm glad we at least have a chance for continued peaceful interaction with the stalkers. Would of like it if we got some radios. Those would've been great for outpost making.
>>
>>5290997
Honestly, I'm worried that the auto production won't be able to keep up with the pop influx if we keep getting so many new people, particularly of the undisciplined variety. Not to mention with actual civilian professionals we could probably get better results this way anyhow.

Yeah, commies sound like very bad news. They at the very least have us severely outgunned and out armored. Radios would be nice but thanks to us being underground their range would be shit without constant relays. We would be better off with wire tappers but those could be easily cut.

"Order! Order! The administer is about to talk you scurvy dogs!" The advisor yells out, slamming something like a gavel on a flat wooden surface. Junior steps up and stands behind the speaking pedestal.

"People of the Company and the civilian population within it's too stations." Junior looks down at his notes. He had practiced, but there was not enough time to memorize most of his speech. "The senior leadership of administrators and advisors know that we live in desperate times, where adaptation and change is necessary for survival. We can continue to live like the world has not ended, like we are not living in stations, and there is not threats around every corner...... Or, we can adapt, improve, and become stronger..."

Junior looks around at the audience, the various senior craftsmen, squad leaders, and refugees.

"As such, while this remains a military station, which resolves around our strong, proud, military company.... We are now opening up democratic institutions... We have a shortage of trained, military officers, and I am currently working on improving myself to fill the capability we are missing.... At the same time, we are missing officers, because I shot both of them.."

Junior looks up again, watching each of them. "Now, we all don't like to talk about that week, but we all know that most of the population was behind the faction that eventually won out. I am glad that we didn't lose too many people, and the violence was somewhat brief......."

Junior's eyes move to the senior veterans in the room, not all of them are available as some are watching the various tunnels, in shifts. Some of the younger men can't make it either for the same reason.

"We are shifting to a more professional, more volunteer based military. We will be maintaining our policy of every man and woman being armed, to safeguard our liberty from oppression.... According to these standards... We will be increasing the living standards of our professional soldiers. We will also be giving you increased authority within your squads. I and the other leadership will give the political objectives, we will trust in you to make them happen."

Junior looks down at his sheet of paper and sighs out.

"At the same time, resources are limited and our population is growing. We are giving more control to the most experienced members of each trade, as such, we are going to need to produce some oversight. We know this will create more paperwork, but opening up will create more transparency. The people will oversight us, and we will oversight the people. This is a society of growth, production, honor, stability, and responsibility. Everyone works, everyone defends the station, everyone eats, everyone speaks.

Today we declare the new dawn of The Social Republic of The Company, Honor, Glory and Liberty!"

The motto had been changed. It used to be "Honor, Glory, and Victory". However, Glory came from Victory, it was implied.

Its why we got loot easily there first but now there is no easy loot.

So I wanna find out what dangers are lurking and what loot they are guarding so we can plan to kill them all and take it. Hopefully, in the process find routes to more resources and stations.

Further interactions with either of the northern stations appear to require going there in person, according to the last telegram that came in.

-We've salvaged as much of that area north of us in the tunnels. After that point it's too dark and too far away for now. We have three other directions and the surface. Those areas are not explored well, and those three tunnels are mostly already salvaged or decently dangerous.
For travelling North, we'd either need stronger sources (more powerful flashlights and lanterns, flares, and glow sticks), more light sources (such as placing torches periodically along the path, or equipping our units with more light sources like the aforementioned flares, glow-sticks, lanterns and flashlights), more transportation (like the >>5288370

pump-carts), and faster transportation (getting the trains working again).

Alternatively, we could either ask the STALKERs/Just North Station/"STALKER Station" to supply us some of their gear that they used to travel north, to accompany us while travel north, or tell us how they managed to travel North besides pump-carts.

Travelling north using the railway seems to be less dangerous than salvaging the area and splitting up into other tunnels along the way. To my understanding the limitation that prevents us from going north is for salvaging north, rather than simply travelling north along a used route diplomatically.

Basically nothing, we automatically make the required fuel and the tools can be polished, derusted, and bent back into shape... Or reshaped/reforged.
It would take a Manufacturing action, it's like a 100 pickaxes, shovels, and all kinds of stuff (100 items to equip 100 people in total).

One of the civilians brings Junior's attention to the most recent telegram
>>5291238
According to the telegram: the other two stations are expecting us and welcoming us. There is also mention of "clearing the tunnels between the stations" and "Focusing the security teams outward". This indicates that our the STALKERS are willing to help us get around between these three station areas, and are willing to help us not get mauled while traveling between the stations.

"Focusing the security teams outward", could mean moving guards from the north tunnel to the south, east, and west tunnels. The STALKER station might be able to move it's security teams to Amazon or The Company Station. Amazon might be able to station forces at the north of it's station.

The Head Administrator is frustrated. He rubs at his temples and paces, before looking back at "Junior".

"You have been incredibly ambitious and have been making so many decisions on your own.... The Advisor is frustrated because he imagined he would be in charge of things, and I myself find myself relegated to paperwork...... But at the same time.... We're making a lot of progress.... You are loosing up central control....Morale is high.... And our military capacity is growing....."

He taps his fingers against his cane and looks up at you, standing there in his old military clerk uniform.

"I'm going to insist that things go through me first in the future.... But for now I am going to rubber stamp everything so far."

>The Journey North
Interact/Negotiate, Strong Success
"Junior" and a team of the northern guards, along with some extra clerks and support staff have advanced up the north tunnels to meet Matvei and his team of STALKERS. The path between the two tunnels is clear now and Junior arrives via push-cart without too many complications. Some strange beasts had to be fought off, there was an attack of rats at one point when the carts got stuck, but other than that, not too bad. No one wounded, no one harmed, and no trauma so far.

The station appears to be in good condition like the home station, but is considerably less militarized. It has about as many guards as you'd expect facing north and south in shifts. They have 12 gauge shotguns as well and some pistols, along with worse armor and likely worse training. You do a quick check of their research and civilian manufacturing areas, and they indeed were better than yours.... but you feel your civilian manufacturing will really improve due to reforms and new immigrants.

You had decided to bring a whole unit of Alcohol with you, enough to get two hundred people visibly buzzed. You hear quickly that the other two stations will cover the cost of the item, they add enough for 100 "drinks" more and they insist the 300 "drinks" be distributed among the leadership of the three stations. You had also brought a whole unit of Mushroom Tea (Enough for 200 people to drink for one week) and they are providing half a unit of "powdered drink mix, orange". The three stations will be drinking mixed drinks, using each other's materials and alcohol.

"Junior" shakes the hands of dozens of senior leadership of the two stations, men and women of different ages and dress. A "flag" of "Saint Petersburg" is seen over and over, handstitched and waving on poles or by peoples hands. There is a lot of local support and solidarity with current "reforms" over at "The Company Station". Matvei, the various guests, and other likeminded people have "peer pressured" the station's administrators to adopt matching "reforms" to your own station. There is even talk of a "super-stational union", to be known as "The Social Republic of Saint Petersburg".

Scout West, Critical Success, Yes AND!

Junior looks at a telegram sent from his home station.

SCOUTS FOUND 8 SCRAP...STOP

>Three Station Leadership Meeting

There is a table that seats 4 people. Matvei is facing you, the "Ebony Arachnid" is to your left, and... some grumpy guy who should be running this station.... is sitting to your right. (I will be using letters to the left, to show who is speaking. I'm not in the mood for speech tags.)
Matvei always keeps his protection mask hanging from him and has a headlamp mounted to a modified aramid combat helmet. He wears clothing that protects from the elements and breathes (Polyester/Wool/Rubberized Fabric?), along with a ballistic vest he complains is heavy. "Ebony" is dressed in...... A dress that appears to be tapered/tailored to fit specifically her. She does not have her vest on, but has a rifle on her back and two holsters on. She's a short-haired blond in her mid-30s, which means she's possibly always been in charge of her station. You heard earlier she's one of the oldest people in her station.

M "I've been hearing you are putting in place new reforms and trying to allow for advancement in your stations, this is wonderous news!"

EA "Indeed... I've been hearing from the women in your congregation that the reforms are exceptionally popular and that your children are thriving."

GG "Who is this... young foal...and why are they in charge of anything?" The Grumpy Guy is dismissing you, possibly. You're having trouble concentrating because something soft is rubbing up against your left leg.

"There was a violent leadership struggle and I decided it should be cut short.... So I shot two members of the previous leadership in the face..... You would've have liked them, they were very domineering.... not very supportive of outsiders..."

EA "I can appreciate a man who is willing to handle things on his own. If you want things done right, you often have to do them yourself." You is possibly sending friendly, possibly flirting signals to you.

"Which is why I am here." Junior acts like nothing is happening, but he gives a small smile to her, before looking at the others for a brief moment. "What is your name by the way?"

EA "You and our exploring friend can call me Kira." She seems quite happy right now.

"Well then.... Kira.... I am Gustav. I am the junior administrator, so some people call me 'Junior'."

EA "I think they should call you John Wayne" No one else but Junior seemed to see the wink.

"Hmmm, well Kira, I think that we should talk about something besides my leadership abilities and accuracy with a revolver. Right Matvei?"

M "Mhmm, Da. Friend Gustav is correct. I think my station should move some of it's guards to both your stations, to help you with security."
>>
>>5291567
Kira "I agree.....I would like to personally send half my security forces and myself to assist John here. Your map says you have three tunnels that you need to secure. I would like to help."

Gustav adjusts his glasses and gets out his notebook, along with a folding map. He checks the notebook, and turns around the map, point to an area.

"There is a two or three station wide communist dictatorship to my west. They have sent about 30 scientists, engineers, and mechanics fleeing. I am currently trying to fortify that entrance to my stations now."

K "Mmmm, you're supposed to be soldiers yes?"

"We are what remains of a company of soldiers. All my people are trained to shoot, and we all take turns guarding the entrances. Everyone works, everyone guards, everyone eats, everyone speaks."

M "We should definitely provide enough forces to assist you. This is a very grave threat, worse than the boars on the surface..... You have high quality training facilities right?"

"Indeed. Likely some of the best facilities you will ever see. I am however concerned with the reported armaments' of our enemies and the current armaments of your two expedition groups."

GG "Well if you want any weapons or repair parts or Components, that will come out of our stockpiles. What do we get?"

"Food production for ourselves appears to be increasing. We discovered a Stone mine and a whole unit of Miner's Tools. We can pay in stone production over time, and if we can't pay our debts...We can sell the repaired weapons back to you.

K "My station's settlers were mostly women and our main capabilities are civilian manufacturing, child-welfare. My team are all experienced fighters, but the rest of them are craftsmen and mothers mostly. We're willing to devote the bulk of our military resources and recruits, along with all further training to you... If you will allow us to take responsibility of the education of our shared children."

M "So the youngest will be at Kira's station, and depending on outlook or community needs, they will be trained further in a specialized station....."

"It would certainly go with my communities increased regulations and transparency... We would all be part of the same whole and all capabilities will be our best possible. My stations are eager to assist your own with matters of security. We have been waiting our whole lives to have others we can assist, in the hopes we could get help with research and civilian manufacturing..... We're very specialized."

GG "If we're going to be one political entity, who is going to be in charge?"

"Each station will run it's own affairs, I will be organizing the military for the south section, Kira will manage it for the north. Civilian Manufacturing, if possible will be Kira's problem, Military Manufacturing will be mine.... Your station can handle finding raw materials on the surface and helping us with research"

QM's/Programmers Notes

The personalities for both Matevi and Kira were "Very Social, Pro-Justice and Welfare of Others". Kira's minor personality was rolled as "moderately ambitious, looks for responsibilities in any organization they are in". Matevi's minor personality is that he's not afraid and won't be pushed around. I rolled for what either of these stations were like (On contact or before any post they were first mentioned), and what they sucked at or were good at.

Junior (The players) decided that Democracy and Regulation would both be good. This caused Junior the character to auto-accept suggestions of further organization, specialization, and sharing power. Ergo, auto-accept agreements of three station unity, power-sharing, and so on. I've also read the player's conversations and generally got the impression they wanted to trade security to others, for various types of help (Be policemen or mercenaries).

Kira's personality is that she's seductive. This was not rolled for, it's ripped from source material. I rolled for the player's Wisdom Save, her roll for Charm, and the players roll for Charm. The Vague Description of What Happened is currently behind lockdown unless someone votes for it.

Improve Relations Further With Kira.
Be Paranoid Of Station that is mostly women and highly trained killer woman who has seduced you into bed somehow. (Drinking was possibly a bad idea).

Fuck so she seduced us after all...to be honest I figured she would have sent someone else to seduce us instead of doing it herself goddamn. Sticking our dick in the deadly milf boss of the Amazons who mysteriously have no men of their own...

Goddamn

>Reject Kira's suggestion
Our own faction's women are already dividing themselves to handle internal logistics in our own faction and apparently the amazons really like that fact on top of wanting to fuck us. I really don't trust them at all. At least until I know what happened to all their goddamn men.

Now I'm suspecting that they are actually a bandit faction again.

>Improve Relations Further With Kira.
Alas we already stuck the dick in her...so a bit too late for regrets and she seems interested for whatever reason. Maybe we can use this to our advantage and figure out what is actually going on with her faction. Like seriously. The offer is TOO good and they are TOO dangerous. Keeping boning her and see if we can get her to open up. If she is suspicious about refusing her other offer claim it's because we wish to get to know our potential allies better before we make such a risky decision like transferring all our children away ect.

...Seriously though we haven't heard anything about what happened in her station or how it runs despite this trip? Not even during pillow talk? How quickly did she get us wasted and seduced? I'm actually pretty curious about what happened and if it has any useful clues.

All our women are trained fighters and moving towards an internal logistics capacity. So I find it a tad bit suspicious but why we should cripple ourselves by transferring over a huge chunk of manpower like that without damn good reason.

I only went with it as despite my paranoia we already did the dirty with her and might as well capitalize on it. Maybe we can discover something useful. If we hadn't already fucked her oh hell no I wouldn't have voted yes on improving relations with her. As is the damage is already done and backing out now will send the wrong message. I would like to find out why she felt the need to get us drunk first. Plus why are she and the rest of the amazons so desperate on the top of their lack of men? If we need to fuck her for some answers so be it.

Gustav is a reasonably fit, academic of an on officer...On paper.... He's never had alcohol before and he's never had sex, the guy is 20 and privacy doesn't exist for most of his home stations. Kira is a 33-35 year old woman in great shape for her age. She has two GSh-18's which are both capable of accepting suppressors and her entire loose band of about 10-30 professional fighters are all mostly in their 30s and 40s. Some of the band appear to have pictures of children and grandchildren, the children being from before the world ended. Some of these children are adults now, and you are under the impression that only the females who can fight or are back at the station are in their 40s. You have seen no mention of any males that are not children.

The women you've seen that are not part of her armed band, appear to be wearing revealing or tightly fitting clothing, that had extensions stitched in over the years. Imagine a tank top that shows the stomach, but someone tried stitching in the stomach, shoulders, and sleeves with a different fabric. These other women have tattoos of hearts, lipstick lipstain marks, and various titillating symbols.

Gustav's for some reason could not get his dick to work, but he completely had no idea what he was doing. Kira likely knew, but was also drunk and likely could not remember. Gustav was so undereducated about the process, that he still had a good time. Like alcohol, his tolerance for sexual arousal is basically nonexistent. Gustav wakes up the next morning with a pounding head, and the feeling that his manhood was milked almost to the breaking point. He would be ashamed and embarrassed if he had a reasonably memory of what happened. He just remembers a lot of orgasming and that she at least used a condom....Okay, like multiple condoms, one at a time.

Gustav looks in a mirror and has.......strange red smears running down his chest and along his neck. He has small round bruises that are slightly purple, but which do not hurt him. He has extremely faint bite marks as well, which also do not hurt. His ummm, area around the hips hurts so bad, he's currently trying to put ice wrapped in a bag on it. This station has ice thankfully.

Something doesn't add up.... The fact his manhood hurts so much means they went....what...four to eight times? He recalls his thing not working for some reason.... Perhaps it was an alcohol thing or shyness. So.... How come the condoms fit each time and why does he recall being in her each time?

...Snu snu and the condoms were absolutely not used for protection but rather storage for sperm in order to take it back. We got milked repeatedly.

Wait...suppressors...older women. Tattoos. No pictures of men. Only children and grandchildren. They got rid of their older sons but kept the daughters. Absolutely no references to any men at all but unless they are young children. They fucking loved the female empowerment and logistics takeover in our faction. They want dick, women, and children but not men...are they fucking Female Supremacists? Old World Feminists? Former Spooks?

If he wasn't actually hard but still cummed anyway they likely drugged and use penis pump on him to milk him dry. I kinda doubt that though given the soreness of his pelvis.

Getting him drunk was obviously because they wanted to take back the sperm and or intended to use special tools as well...wait special tools...

...the only ones with any kind of special equipment are Think Tanks. Especially considering the short life span of sperm outside proper storage and the time it would take to return to their station without the proper equipment. Are they a fucking think tank masquarading as a civilian station? It would explain their obsession with fucking men and the equipment to properly store sperm. As for not having men...their biotech specialization. Men are more disposable and they are female supremacy. Kira and her veterans are likely former spooks which is why the beat the shit out of the Stalkers who were hired by the Scientists for protection. The problem is their getting older and they got baited by us who empowered our own females making them bite.

The reason they need no men is simple. They have no wombs and their biotech requires wombs for their tech base/research and they can easily restock and store sperm properly with their tech base. How the fuck are they disposing of the men though. Not a very good guess though.

Gustav developed a "fool-proof plan".

Step 1. Obtain data on the vulnerabilities of women
Step 2. Figure out his own advantages
Step 3. Seduce Kira
Step 4. Get answers

Steps 1 through 3 went off without any complications. Gustav was able to obtain a wide range of answers from various females in the area, who either thought they were finally being listened to, or helping someone who was now entering some kind of relationship. About a third of them thought he was flirting with them, so they were a bit disappointed.

Gustav managed to find Kira, overload her sense of danger and arousal, and bring her to orgasm, enough times to get her compliant and to give answers.

The problem was that halfway through the process he had a mental breakdown and said many, many "crazy" things that "did not make any sense". Gustav was healing and resting inside a rail-car, with an actually painful bite mark on his shoulder. He remembered being very angry and being borderline violent, which explains why he was bitten. She had tried to get away from him, managed to do so, and now he was avoiding being seen. In the rush, he had obtained a map and a notebook of her own.

Unfolding the map, he looked at it and realized it was a map of the surface and the station.... The area around her home..... He noticed some word he didn't recognize and would need answers. Trying to "patch himself up" and cover his "injuries", he managed to local one of the older members of his congregation. Showing them a map to them, he was explained what a "Red Light District" is, and what a "Prostitute" is. He also was informed about what a "Paramilitary Company " is as well.

Gustav returns to his station with what he realizes is actually a diary or "log" belonging to Kira. Within it, he realizes several mentions to a "John Wanye", who is "handsome". He is someone she finds "surprisingly exciting" and which has "awoken something deep inside of me". There is ramblings and speculations what this "John Wanye" is like and if he is truly a "poet, gentleman, and courageous soul". There is shaking handwriting that details mixed feelings and desires. There is fear and paranoid about John Wayne and men in general, but also a strong and powerful longing for John Wayne. Flipping back long enough, their are logs about "loneliness" and "coming to grips with the fact that I think I prefer men". There are large, bold, red text that details "Our incredibly inbred gene pool" and a "lack of male figures for the children".

"Administrator, we've had crazy plant-growth this week! The harvest quality is so good that it's attracted a swarm of rats! Luckily for us, we're all carrying around shotguns and shotgun revolvers.... So we were able to prevent them from doing too much damage..... In fact, I we're going to have extra food that is going to go to waste and attract more pests! We also have a whole unit of Meat from these rats! I highly advise we in the future prepare canning and smoking facilities to store this extra food! We should see about importing Wood from the Fins somehow."

About 60 able-bodied men and women arrive from the other two stations, bringing 100 mining tools with them. Based on body size and physical strength, they begin either doing handiwork or getting into manual labor. Together they, paired with the refugees mean that 1 unit of Stone will be produced automatically each week. The spare food just obtained is confused by these extra people.

The new guards who showed up are already training on our facilities and the expert guards are stationed at West Tunnel, which is well fortified.

Probably enough Construction till people are done. Assuming all fronts underground to the west are now being worked on. I think that will leave weapon repair from the last set we got. Finding a path to the fins or a source of wood for us. Which for that we need filters restocked for ground travel/scouting, correct? Unless we got a tunnel to search thought to get closer.

Btw at some point, I am interested in testing what sort of guns we can make purely from scratch via materials. That is, what can we produce industrially rather than just repair old world guns.

We have many shotguns, SMGs, and Assault Rifles but no Machine Guns it seems. Either heavy MG's for static defense, or GMPG's for mobility.

Exactly what can we make reliably and in number? Old hand crank gatlings? Water cooled Maxims? MG3s or M240s? We are able to produce black powder in bulk, but what of Primer?

Same goes for rifles. What can we make from scratch, starting anywhere from Muskets to Bolt Actions to Semi-Auto without relying on salvaged gun parts but what we can make.

It would be good to have the capability to arm our population en masse at a notice if needed, where we may not have the time or ability to just go and try to find more guns to salvage or our stockpile of gunparts is low. That and we just simply do not currently have any machine guns for suppression fire iirc. Just SMGs which are more suitable for burst fire.

>>5293428
Once we find a nice stock of metals and parts or a source to mine the raw from to have excess. I would be down to experiment and research.

>>5293234
Yeah that is something to worry about. I assume we reuse some of the waste. Since it should help with farming.

Strong Success, Moderate Success
Matevi, his team, some spare labor from the other stations, and the people you devoted to the scouting groups.... have all managed to finish as much scouting as they could.

M "Hmmm, we managed to find only 4 units of Wood, 11 units of Components but we found 6 units of Parts, 3 units of Electrical Parts, and 6 units of Weapons Parts. And... perhaps the most promising find of all...... We found an actual, serious, Salt Mine.... It's going to require labor that we can barely spare....Food is going to have to be moved here..."

"Isn't my station currently growing enough for 300 people?"

M "Just about, but each of these mines is going to require 100 people each.... When the mines are finished, their output will double and we can reduce the labor down to half."

Gustav scratches that the short beard that fits inside a gas-mask, the longest a beard is allowed to be outside the elderly.

"Did we get any units of Salt or will that take time?"

M "Oh we found a whole unit of Salt and were able to load it onto the tracks. The filters can finally be reset, assuming our Amazon friends have enough man/womanpower. This salt mine is good enough that the scrapings will meet any requires for meat you have. "

>Repair all broken things available
Strong Success, Moderate Success

The 30 "Borz" machine pistols (-1 to hit) and 30 9.6x53mm Lancaster Mosin Shotguns had all been repaired into an almost "like-new" state. The professional guards automatically had divided the weapons up and trained with them.

Accidental Discovery
Cordite

The team of refugee scientists, along with some of the brightest minds of the Company and Amazon station are excited about a new discovery.

Head Refugee Scientist "This is an amazing discovery. Before were limited to Black Powder, which could be used in shotgun shells, revolver cartridges, muskets, single shot rifles, and the like. It's requires intense cleaning of the barrels and parts, puts out so much smoke, and has such limited energy.

This new discovery allows us to make 'smokeless powder', suitable for rifles and Lancaster shotguns..... I believe that if we have another week to examine our discoveries, we can figure out the processes for making Shotgun Powder and Handgun Powder as well....We figured out how to make and replace primers on the first day...."

Head Amazon Scientist "Your abundant supplies of sulfur and the various industrial/mining waste we have access to make this possible. "

"Once we have enough spare labor and metal, will we be able to experiment with firearms designs? We seem to have anything but a hand-cranked Gatling gun or a machine-gun of some sort."

The various bright minds look at each other, some coughing and others adjusting their glasses.

Head Refugee Scientist "We'd need an intense amount of cartridges for such a weapon."
>>
>>5293831
Head Amazon Scientist "Perhaps not....The machine has a continuous and limited fire-rate... Considering its going to be fired by running a crank....A standard combat loadout for a three man machine gun is.... What again?"

Head Colony Scientist "Portable or Stationary?"

Head Amazon Scientist "Whichever uses less ammunition."

Head Colony Scientist "200-300 rounds on belts."

Head Amazon Scientist "If we could scrounge together 200 or 300 rounds of Mosin or Kalashnikov ammunition, it should be suitable."

Head Refugee Scientist "But when we make bullets.... How do we keep the lead from shattering when fired from rifles?"

Head Colony Scientist "We just make the bullets out of soft or moderate steel"

Head Amazon Scientist "You're still going to grind at the rifling and material of the barrels..... Junior Administrator, we should see about importing finished bullets from the....Finnish.... or if there is some handy process for coating bullets with some material that will hold them together."

Problems setting up the changes to the traps and hunting systems have resulted in the traps not being ready till next week. It will be a difficult process to keep the refugees working on the construction, while keeping them hidden from the visitors. The leadership of the other two stations are either close to "The Frontlines" or easy to reach by telegram. Currently the best idea so far is to restructure what part of The Company station is visible. Automatically, most of the departments have decided to Play Up Socialism and Down Play Democracy. At the same time, there is a strong energy to make it clear that four stations of population are independent and well-organized, to keep the flag but modify it to make it seem more socialist.

There is not enough manpower available and the refugees are busy, so the research on a Gatling gun can't start during the next week. Gustav has been informed that his blacksmiths, weaponsmiths, and engineers can design prototype weapons without using extra materials or time.

They are well dressed, but appear to be barely at an acceptable weight. They are so tired and hungry they can barely work their pushcarts. They beg and plead for you to let them in, and "will work for food, 1 warm meal up front before work".

Kira has automatically set aside her own station's spare supplies to house and feed them. She has implored her current people in the area to cut back and go without, to spare something for these poor, suffering people.

There is currently not enough comfortable space for them anywhere. Kira and these poor people have enough resources to start construction, but there needs to be a place to start. The new-comers will be doing most of the work, once they gauther their strength.

If we can take more I'm down to take more. At the very least any specialist that help the other stations can go to them. I would like to have farmers, miners, soldiers and people like that for us. A researcher or two would be wonderful to help us there. Oh yeah and I can't forget the Diplomats. we will probably want a team of them.

Act1
As for actions if we can spend one to help speed up the construction around us. Probably for the best to get that done sooner than later.

Action 2
Do to more educated people. I think it will be a good to set up someplace for knowledge to train people in other fields. we're going to risk losing someone who's the only one who knows things. The problem is I think too much construction going on at the moment.

Probably best for action to be send a team of Scouts and scavengers to look for excess resource piles we can grab from.

Matevi Crit Success To Notice Emotions, Strong Success For Will
Gustav Strong Success To Notice Emotions, Strong Success For Will

M "You and Kira have been very uncomfortable around each other... Clearly something happened."

Gustav lets out a deep and heavy sigh, resting his eyes into his hands. Every time they make eye contact, she seems hurt. It appears that about 34 males between 15 and 45 have been sent over to help with construction, with only half of these clearly being children. At least ten of them were from the initial settlers based on ages.

"Would you know how much of her station's population is with us? Demographics?"

M "More than half her guards, almost all of the males, and everyone except the children under 15 and caregivers. I think half her population is here, more than half if you include her personal team."

"So everyone here is the over 15s? How many are males?"

M "I would say about a third."

"We know the children are 50/50 right?"

M "They seem to be. Why do you ask?"

"If the children are 50/50 and all of her males, 33% of their population is here.... it means they had a initial setting population that was 25% male."

M "You're scared of her?" Matevi raised an eyebrow

"I am. Her team is remarkably well trained and armed, and her station is very advanced."

M "I've been there, their military facilities are in poor condition and they couldn't repair their own weapons. They have a science lab from before The End and... isn't your station the opposite of theirs? What was the power structure like in the past?"

"Our ISP was an internal security company, soldiers. We operate on a military system of command, all our leaders are male except within logistics and medicine. Over the years we've added a nourishment department, that is now led by a woman, due to my reforms. The loss of two male leaders, has also opened up advancement opportunities."

M "And my station had a balance of power going neither way, but neither myself or my administrator is a woman. The differences between your two stations are perfectly explainable.... and under this new democratic unity... where we all pitch in... My station is just a source of manpower... We excel at nothing, but being in the middle and salvaging."

"What about her team's equipment and their first interaction with your team?"
>>
>>5295169
M "My team have 15 years of salvaging and before all of this, we were miners, rural firefighters, woodsmen, and the incredibly poor. When we met her people, they did extort us a bit. We all had to help with construction, and every unmarried man provided shoulder massages at some point. We were encouraged to provide volunteers to provide companionship to the women. The volunteers were provided a lot of options and encouraged to pick. One of my men has two wives there, and another has a string of lovers. Overall, it was not the best, but little harm was done. I remember being well fed, having good quarters, and everyone has happy to see me..It lasted about a week... My station trades genetic material, and individuals trade favors or dates for manufactured goods. "

Matevi gives a large shrug, which seems to say "Thats how it is".

"And what did you see about the males there?"

M "They have a mixed opinion on my station. Some are mad at my group for some reason and others seemed relieved to talk to other adult males, or not be constantly begged for attention or affection. The women of my station, mostly the young and single, mothers too... are furious about the other station. The old call them whores or sluts, and the young woman... Well they sometimes do the same. Some of my stations women feel inspired or are curious about the Amazons... I hope that if we keep adding males, our stations combined will allow everyone to find love.... and have it returned.... I am married with three children, my wife is supported by me fully."

Gustav is mostly silent, staring at the table, his throat feeling dry.

"I can't make sense of any of this.....The interactions between me and her."

M "You were very intimate, is my impression."

"And between the alcohol and the emotions, I remember little. I feel used and I was not able to get any explanations out of her. I'm scared of her, I don't understand her."

M "She was very disappointed when she found out I was married. She seems very quick to sing your praises, or she was....."

"I think she's some kind of covert agent.... and she wants something from me, but I don't know what it is."

M "Well, she possibly wants your baby. Did you take measures or?"

"I have a strong impression it was all protected."

Matevi rubs his chin and dwells on this, trying to make sense of it.

M "She's never stolen anything from my station."

"What about genetic material"

M "You're one of the smaller males in your station. I doubt they're willing to change policies just on the chance you're genetically a good leader. If that were the case, the best match to carry your child is her... She's their best negotiator..... She's getting old, her biological clock must be ticking like crazy."

"This and the Leningrad's are stressing me out. I'm going to go box and just focus on my work. I'm glad you're here for me, lets keep this private till I figure this shit out."
>>
PMC, redlight district, science lab, and severe inbreeding despite aggressive extraction and trade of genetic materials...holy shit they really are a research biolab. Redlight district for cover for human experimentation because nobody cares about what happens to prostitutes and PMC for security. They have been fucking so many guys for so long and yet they STILL have severe inbreeding issues. Meaning they are extremely aggressive as hell when it comes to eugenics treatments and biotech experimentation. They shouldn't have an inbreeding problem unless they were just that picky and aggressively treating/experimenting with the harvested genetic materials. Curious about what happened to the male test subjects. Clearly, female test subjects have far higher odds of survival.

Considering radiation, mutation, and anomalies...I'm starting to not want to know what happened to their males at this rate. As biotech studies are a bit too obvious and frightening. Nope. Pls don't be EE Umbrella Corp...fuck. I have a very bad feeling about what happened to those male PMC mercs in particular.

also, Gustav definitely knocked up Kira. Should have realized where those used condoms went you dumbass. Natural conception would be a waste with such fancy toys and tech available to augment fertility and improve offspring. There is a reason why she is avoiding you. Kira is likely powerful enough that she has veto power in terms of whom she chooses for her own mate and has already extracted enough genetic material from Gustav for processing and usage. You cannot exactly refuse your head of security when she wants to fuck somebody and wants a baby from them with your help(person with gun says yes).

What's interesting is that Gustav apparently shouldn't qualify for their eugenics policies and it's not hard to know about but Kira is powerful enough to forcefully veto it. She has apparently already done so. She previously tried to consider Matevi before Gustav but was refused who was also a leader. Kira desires another leader for her mate but was previously gay(biological clock hit like a train). What's odd is her unwillingness to abide by her station policy for eugenics...but that might very well be because is powerful enough to have access to special resources and services due to her rank. So she doesn't feel the need to be that picky. Gustav meanwhile is young, hot, and most importantly unattached(as she got previously turned down by Matevi who was married and learned the hard way). So Kira quickly wised up in terms of most viable mates and quality sperm despite her inexperience except she prioritizes different things from her faction.
>>
>>5295141
Share half what you can spare, insist everyone contributes equally. Divide the population among the stations
Prioritize merchants and diplomats. You know people who can actually negotiate. Cough up more supplies if we have to since we have more to spare and honestly it might go spoil anyway. Plus I have a feeling Kira's station are picky assholes when it comes to who they will keep unlike what Kira make it appears. They love their eugenics too much to keep just anyone. I also want to ask Kira to ask them what drove them there. As we might need to reprioritize our troop dispatches and defense building. I hope not. Commies already got bigger guns than we do.

>>5295152
We are the military hub and have to fortify against the commies since will attack us first. We also need to find out where the new refugees came from and what drove them here. If we are unlucky we will need to build more defenses and garrisons over there too. The better resource station is the STALKER station. They have much better bonuses for salvaging.

I personally won't mind requesting a team of diplomats and merchants from the refugees in exchange for our help. Not a good idea to take everyone and everything otherwise we will piss off our allies if we hoard everything.

Otherwise I'll back this.

Besides the fulminate and glass blowing. The biggest issue is actually the gas mixture injected into the bulb. Since we are in tunnels airflow is a huge problem. Not to mention apparently our power supply is shit. Who knows if we can find any functioning reactors. Generators are unreliable without an oil refinery or biofuel. Apparently, even running vehicles are a problem. Trying to get a functional foundry with the poor air supply and power is going to be hell down here.

I just learned the distances and speed of pushcarts. Going forward, explored places can be visited in a day.
-
Matevi came back from the expedition with his team, having sent those you sent with him, days before.

"Three days there, three days back." Cigeretes are expensive, but the cheap products of the current era are good enough replacements, for now. "Digging, clearing, shoveling...... The distances by pushcart were very short on the way back, and we had to come back quickly..... I knew from the map there was a tri-station there, but on the path we just kept seeing crooked words on the walls and crude Orthodox crosses. We met them.....They sent someone to talk to us.....When they found out we were a democratic state with Protestants and Atheists....They yelled at us to repent and when we tried to tell them, maybe later....They tried to capture us....... and then the troops further back fired on us with muzzleloaded rifles. In the chaos and all the black smoke, we pushed as fast as we could and got home...."

The Leningrad Negotiation team arrives and while strict, bombastic... They appear under the impression you are socialist, with no realization you are also democratic. Their tour showcases your military might and your organization..... However, they notice your bounty of food and effective traps....Your extra population of diplomats and actors can only do so much.

Leningrad "We are exceeding our quotas for food production, but our stations are full of people, the children, and the elderly. We have resorted to hot soup and consumption of ruffage to meet our needs...... Surely a glorious worker state as your own can spare a Unit of Salted Meat, and fill our glass jars with spare vegetables....."

>Important Decision!!!!!

Spare the extra food, with clear labels of its origin.
Spare the extra food, inform them of the fanatics south and offer to dig a tunnel around your stations....
Spare the extra food, inform them of the fanatics south, dig the tunnel for them, and join them in war against the southern stations
Give them nothing and risk war or hostilities.

Junior suspects he should talk to someone for advice.

Kira is clearly a leader in battle and diplomacy, but perhaps a dangerous spy as well. Perhaps a coup against the Leningrads? War against the south fanatics? An uneasy peace with either or both?

I wonder if it's worth offering to take undesirables to help tend the farm. Which can help grow our people. Assuming they will be like those refugees of west from before.

I'm leaning toward option 3 joint war, but for sure want input from the others. I do worry of the south winning over the west. So we may want to try the labels and break the west down. Granted this is assuming we have the time and the south isn't coming already.

Commies will likely win easily cause they have machine guns and the Orthodox seem pretty limited in terms of arms. I didn't even know we were protestant. I assumed we were also orthodox or atheist, to be honest.

I didn't think about a possible to the east. So probably for the best there.

Yeah they'll win in fire power, but that is why I hope to win though other means. If we can get more people from them that would help us more or make them over-reliant on us for food. Otherwise with a plague and them possibly hungry already. This could get bad for us if the food is a plague source from this event.
>>
>>5296654
We need resources. Not people. To be specific we need raw materials. Which requires finding a route outside so we can trade for those raw materials. We are pretty well stocked in terms of medicine and food. We need to find someone to actually trade with it. We got one more direction left to scout. I don't want to pick any fights until we know what is all around us.

I wouldn't mind a coup against the commies or finding out more about our southern neighbors. If we get lucky the plague may work to our advantage.

I was thinking about how the mines take 100 people to run. I think last hard numbers was 2 pop units/ around 200 + refugees. If we find another sure we can keep barrowing people, but I think more would be better for that. Otherwise for sure trading for wood would be nice.

Only other worry I would have is if the eastern factions found would not be good for us as well. Since never know when the zealots will come crusading and we have to maintain that deceit with the other. Granted it's all a risk, but I'll back the east gamble.

I tend to use the control + F, but this time didn't go all the way. After rechecking realized Matevi said the mine construction will reduce the auto use to 50 people/ half a pop unit. Thanks for saying something. Glad I did that and my bad for miss remembering.

Also rechecked the refugees saw it was a unit worth divided. I still couldn't find the stated number for the west refugees. At least not with pop unit as the key word. Not sure if it's save to assume we are now 3 units of pop (300) or over that.

Junior examines his reports and as far as he can tell based on rumors, the jars of vegetables and salted meat will indeed be clearly labeled. They will be marked as coming from the "Saint Petersburg Socialist Republic". Despite having a separate name for the city, no officials are angry currently and they are under the impression that your state is ran the same as any other "socialist republic" in history.

Crit Success
At the same time, SPSP (Actually is a "social republic" shhhh) has detected that there indeed is a plague and it's coming from the Leningrad stations. They are completely unaware of the problem, despite there now being half a dozen sick and dying people isolated in areas of the SPSP south stations. The Leningrad are unaware of this problem and it's not clear who has the illness, without having them isolated for a few hours. The process of isolating guests is likely to trigger a "diplomatic incident", which could rapidly get violent.

Currently the station has enough medication and herbs to treat these people, but they will have declined supplies afterward. Reserves won't be low enough to be a problem, but they will only be enough to proceed with "moderate rate of illness".

The Head Administrator is leaned back in his comfortable chair, one of the few remaining, which he has plastic over. There is a little table to his right that he keeps a saucer with a coffee cup on it. He's currently drinking some hot mushroom tea.

HA "You are old enough to just barely remember, when the world ended. I.....I am old enough to remember that it was simply the second time the world ended."

Junior is confused, his eyebrows move and his face twists up. "What do you mean? I don't think I understand."

HA "Currently, our economic system is quite organized and regulated, there is also limited private property. This is because we are the remains of a Internal Security company, we're designed to function as part of the former government. Our weapons, armor, and gear were owned by the state, and we enlisted or were conscripted by force by that same state..... At the same time, there are at times.. resource shortages and we all have to 'pull together'......"

"I don't understand what any of this means."

HA "Okay.... Let me put it this way. There is the public sector, which is states, militaries, police, and the payments you make to have those services. Everyone pays a percentage, and everyone gets the services. You can't decide to not pay or not get the service."

"Okay....I understand you so far.... This is like how we all have to know how to shoot be part of the militia, but the militia protects all of us."

HA "Indeed."

"I don't understand what this has to do with the world ending before........"

HA "Let's say that between private and public.....private property and shared.......Perhaps on a 1 to 5 scale..... We used to be a 3 and now we are a 4............ I lived through times were we were a 5 and times when we were a 1 or 2."

"Okay..... So..... Things used to be like the Leningards?"

HA "Yes, about 40 years ago when I was a young adult."

"Okay, so was that when the world ended?"

HA "No..... The world ended when we went to a 1, after being a 5..... There was little warning....... We stopped being a Police State...... but there was so much poverty, chaos, and murder it was hard to tell......"

"And were we democratic or in between during this time?" Junior was leaning forward, curious about this before time.

HA "A lot of us could not tell, it seemed pretty democratic, but the corruption and crime was it's own form of oppression...... Around.... I want to say 2008..... That was when it became clear that something was very wrong..... "

"So which was worse? The 1 or the 5?"

HA "They were both police states and they were both extreme positions........ I'm heavily tempted to say that besides having to watch everyone I know die......I would say I am happier now than before the second time the world ended...... I am so relieved you shot the previous leaders.... and that we are a democratic, secular people."
>>
>>5297663
"Remind me again what secular means?"

HA "Well....... When I was a young man, we were all told to be atheist...... After all the chaos and into the new oppression, we were all told to be Orthodox..... During the socialist days, we had aspirations and dreams of spreading our way of life to all people...... But in the days of removed regulation....the 1 days...... We were very insular.. Wanted to control things and people, but didn't want to let anyone in or marry anyone."

"So things are different now?"

HA "Things are very different. I would say we run things more like how nations further to the West might do things.... And we seem to be prospering like they were..... "

"I've been....having thoughts about trying to find a trade route with the Fins........ They seem to be in a good state and a strong future trading partner......."

HA "A lot of the things they would buy and sell, are not for sale anymore...... But I believe they have lands full of wood....And they have a rich culture of making alcohol from sugar like we have.... I think that perhaps they've been isolated from most of the damage and perhaps they can farm their lands again....."

"What can we get that they would be interested in?"

HA "Electric Parts..... I remember they used to import Electric Parts......Oh and they would export a lot of things that we now use as Components.Like special paper and screws.....Finland was the largest producer of coated paper.....It was smooth and colorful..... They would import and export transportation machines.....They also liked to import fuel.... Liquid fuel, rock fuel like coal, and gas fuel....."

"Would they be interested in charcoal?"

HA "Unlikely, as they have so much wood to make into charcoal...."

"Do they import metal, as far as you remember?

HA "They exported a lot of high quality steel....."

"Would they be interested in Salt or Stone or Copper?"

HA "They likely would be big importers of those things....."

Junior starts organizing and reading from his notes. "So, your advice so far is to keep things the way they are, avoid becoming like the Leningrads...and a lot of things we can import or export in relationship to the Fins...... What about this Plague?"

HA "We need to do everything we can to keep it from spreading..... We don't know how serious it is, but it looks fatal....... I have a bad feeling it could target the old and young.... And I personally do not want to die....Nor should the children pass away either....... We can't really stand to lose anyone at this point....... There are so few of us...So few humans as well....."

"I guess the Gatling Gun should be constructed soon.... Um....Do you know anything about Kira? I have some.... papers of hers I would like looked at."

The Head Administrator looks them over, flipping through them, and then looking up at you.

HA "She's a former FSB agent. One of these is FSB....And the other is a fake identity for Russia......If we still had money, I would bet some that she was burned or blacklisted or something.... Considering how harsh and crooked the state used to be, I am not surprised. I am pretty confident based on what i know and remember, that the former state is what triggered the most recent end to the world.... We devoted a huge portion of our resources to a large military, and one that had many doomsday weapons.... There is likely stockpiles hidden somewhere that container more weapons....Perhaps to continue waging a war of doom and destruction forever.... Or to unleash hell after the world was already over....."

"Do you know anything about earlier diseases like this one?"

HA "Not really, I don't..... Well... This disease does resemble a...... We used to have disease bombs.... We called it 'Germ Warfare'....We said we shut all of those down.... but a lot of the weapons went missing.....This illness could be something simple, but most of the worse diseases came from animals....and we're not really exposed to any animals anymore...... It's been years since I've seen a bird, pig, horse, goat, or cow....."

"Do you think the Leningrads would crush these church people, in a fight?"

HA "I know a lot of the church people will likely fight to death and the Leningards would have to bring their fighting forces there.....with all the supplies...and find in unfamiliar areas....... They might have worse motivation.... The church people might have strong cover and better training..... The two sides can't fight right now....Under any circumstances...... Otherwise we'll have at least four stations or more that are completely sick..........Fighting is terrible for trying to keep down disease..... The more this disease spreads, the stronger and more deadly it could become...... Could infect the whole underground area and kill us all....."

Not sure if we have the resources and knowledge for it, but at the very least looking into improving the medical side of things would be a good idea. Be it our herb production to places to keep the sick from the others. Can't forget to ask our friends viva telegram for ideas as well.

>1. Construction
Continue construction. Not a good idea to be moving around and spreading the plague like a bunch of morons. Also we are really gonna need that salt for saline solutions and the sweats for when people are sick.

Send a message to the Amazon station about a plague outbreak. Ask to meet with Kira to...discuss. Time to face the music with her spooky ass. Inquire about the ideas she had earlier and what kind of lab they got. We are able to grow herbs and have docs but it's not like we have actual lab.
>>
>>5297736
I think Amazon station has better medical and will have a larger bonus to medical actions cause they got an actual lab. Gonna need to confirm with Kira meaning it's time to finally face the music with her. I agree on it not being a good idea to scout with the plague risk. I think we cannot go wrong with trying to rush the mines and trying to get that salt going since people are gonna need it when they're sick. Otherwise, I honestly don't really have any good ideas but try to quarantine and hope it burns itself out without spreading too much.

Maybe we can switch over more of the food production to herbs but that is if we even identified the kind of sickness it is and therefore the right medicines required. Might have to do that and hopefully we got enough of a food surplus to take the hit.

There is a loud array of what sounds like shotgun blasts, than increasing cracks of AKs, followed by rapid machine-pistol fire, more rapid AK fire, and then screaming.... explosions....the sounds of ground shaking...... And so on....... It goes on for about 15 minutes and then there is only silence..... Guards are put on alert and they move to the south and west tunnels. Matevi and Kira's teams are located at the center of the two stations as a "mobile reserve" and Gustav feels compelled to take the same action. He has no idea which direction the violence is going to arrive from.

After about an hour, Matevi and Kira's teams move southward, trying to do some covert recon. They return back in less than twenty minutes with information that something is very wrong.....

M "There is a lot of blood, bits, a few broken guns, some damage garments or helmets, casings for ammunition....and then this huge pile of collapsed rubble from the tunnel. "

K "The blood trails indicated they dragged their wounded and dead down this tunnel they dug....which likely leads back to their pushcarts...... This could be an issue if they were infected...... They could've gotten some other group sick or something....."

M "I for the life of me can't figure out who they were fighting......"

K "Well.....South of them is the insane religious stations...... We've been getting hungry people from that direction.... Perhaps the insane weather problems over my station are affecting other stations?"

M "Wait.....I've seen the religious stations......Shouldn't they be equipped with black powder weapons and little else?"

K "We saw bits of people's arms, fragments of peoples ribs.... and fragments of people's skulls....along with lead shotgun slugs or.....slugs for rifled muskets.......They were twice as heavily as a typical hunting rifle bullet...... There was also a lot of fragments of lead bullets....."

Junior thought about the metals plates that were used in the armor of The Company... They were based on or exact models of several models of steel or titanium plates they used as rifle armor..... The problem the armor had, was that it stopped a lot of bullets, but the bullets would shatter and risk fragmenting into your arms, head, or neck....

"So.... The doomsday cult has rifled muskets....and machine-pistols? How did they hit anything with such crude weapons? I've tested them out and they have a spread of about a third of a meter....at like...50 meters...."

M "I'm absolutely amazed they hit anything at all....I can do a group a third of that size at twice the distance with a sučhka....... Normally weapons that crude are only good to be broken down for parts or screws....."

Kira looked off in the direction south where the collapse had happened, before then looking at the other two.
>>
>>5298783
K "For them to have gotten close enough to use those and had them shatter on armor.......They'd have to have charged and gotten extremely close....... Which means.....They'd have to have incredibly high numbers and extremely high morale...... Enough to do an insane, vicious, human wave attack...."

Gustav rubbed his stubble and thought about this, peering downward through his glasses.

"Or they would have access to armor and/or have managed to land a lot of powerful hits with their rifled muzzle-loaders........

K "The Leningards appear to have reasonable training, plenty of semi-automatic weapons, rifle plates, and large capacity magazines....... I do not see how these...doomsday cult as you put it.....Would be able to fight them off.....Without having an incredible rate of fire and lots of people......."

M "The battle just happened to take place about 500 meters away from the south tunnel fortifications, even after they were moved south to guard the mine...... That is still a lot closer to us than where those religious nutjobs live......"

"Which means........ They ran into each other....While moving forward armies to attack one another......"

K "I think the doomsday cult was planning to attack all of us...... They shot at Matevi last time... They know we are here and likely think we are one station..... How would they know about the Leningrad stations?"

M "And the Leningrad station dug a very impressive tunnel hundreds of meters between the west and south tunnel, at an incline too...considering the slope involved....."

"That tunnel collapsing could be a good thing...... Keeping us away from the insane people..... And the Leningrad station should be a lot weaker....We have no idea how many killed or wounded they have..... but it's got to be plenty......

K "If it weren't for all the directions we need to watch.....the fact they could be heavily fortified..... The fact they have better weapons...... We could get ambushed..... The Plague.....I would suggest an attack.... Currently we don't have to worry as much about being attacked from the west tunnel."

"What about.....Can that rubble be cleared? This is starting to indicate to me that the doomsday faction is far more dangerous than I thought they were............. I thought the Leningrad station would easily crush them....Even if they had the defensive advantage..... And yet they've fought off the other group...... They have so many people and are so crazy.... We could really have a problem out there......"

K "Well.... I can't move my people around too much anyways..... Because of this Plague..... So my population in this area is currently mining.... We still have those recently trained up guards in the area..... How many people of conscript skill can we mobilize if we get attacked?"

Junior starts doing some math and thinking this all over, before looking up at her.....
>>
Rolled 8, 2 = 10 (2d20)

Our entire adult, able-bodied population is trained up and can be loosely armed..... So that is about 70 more people.......... So........ 80 professionals in all..... and about a hundred conscripts...."

K "They would not be able to take the station even if the sent all of their adults and they were all armed, with perfect morale and fanaticism."

"A good number of us could be hurt and/or killed.....I would order the south area to be fortified more....But we are completely out of wood...."

I guess the last thing is figuring out exactly where we are units of resource wise and in regards to production buildings. I have some time and I'd like to reorganize our google doc to be easier to read and more organized.
Just realized the doc was supposed to be anon suggested for updates and QM approves them in. Not sure where to begin with keeping tabs on it all.

I imagine QM is also keeping tabs on that sort of stuff behind the scenes.

The amount of recipes and individual resource types to keep track of is expanding rapidly.

Hey QM and Anons

I wanted to try and update and reorganize the google doc so that it was easier to read and had more up to date resources.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B0jhOVkYG44KNJeZoxzR4Z6uwOxqoJHirCqtPSBGGQs/edit?usp=sharing

It's focused only on the sections for buildings/resources right now. I'd appreciate your opinion on this format, and if its worth using or pasting into the existing doc.

The other thing is for stuff that is automatically produced and consumed like water, balanced meals, etc. I am willing to make an excel sheet to that could be a lot easier to keep track of. So we know if we're currently producing deficit or excess. I could even do that soon if the doc I presented is up to day and I knew about how much water and food and anything else auto produced/consumed we're making

>>
>>5299324
Good point.

Do we have to scout out for them first? I would hope QM would permit scouting+diplomacy for the turn.

We may want to quarantine our scouts for a time, to ensure an incubation period and avoid spreading it.

Maybe figure out what its transmission vectors are.

Has QM described the disease symptoms beyond dehydration? Will we need to dedicate a research action to know more?

All stations together produced 2 units of food a week before and now produce 3 units together. This is purely from politics

The food unit is 200 people for 1 week or 100 people for 2 weeks.

We have less than 500 people and have a semi-often spare unit of meat, so we get off and on celebrations because of "increased rations".
>>5299661
I love it, this is better.
>>
>>5299662
For simplicity sake I imagine we can handwave the actual ingredients for Balanced Meal and just abstract as total production based on food buildings. Cause otherwise we'd have to tally Charcoal, Veg, Water and Raw Food which I could but that would require a lot more info and be more complicated.

I added an excel sheet to help keep track of Food since that's the one that autos. I'm thinking this is Week 20 right?

Presumably with current storage ability that net 1 we make a week is being stored up. No idea what our reserve is but I'll just start if off as 1 unless its something else.

Got a question QM.

Any reason we can't try to manufacture soft lead/minie ball ammunition for our gatlings in lieu while waiting to trade for finished (Finnish) bullets? They were the original gatling ammunition, and lead is easier to melt into molds and less fuel intensive than smelting down iron or steel.

Yeah they don't have as much range or accuracy, but it's a suppression weapon tunnel combat. We aim them down a hallway, maybe with a thick metal cupola or sandbags to protect the crew, and just fire away throwing lead down range to keep the enemies heads down.

I believe I said that was possible earlier, but that putting the ammunition into belts would be a bit messy. The biggest issue we currently have is we don't have that much lead and if we had a lead mine, it would be crazy dangerous. As far as I know most lead was mined accidently trying to get silver.

We're mostly stuck using old ammo or making soft steel bullets. For the same reasons as the Soviets.

Super Crit! Extremely Strong Sucess! SUPER CRIT AND EXTREMELY STRONG SUCCESS! YES AND AND AND AND!!!!!!!!!!

Working together, the Social Republic of Petersburg has found a cure for this mysterious plague, discovered that it indeed is likely related to one of diseases designed as weapons. Currently the cure appears to anti-biotics, and the disease can be prevented with a vaccine. We have also rediscovered Penicillium, but it requires special tanks that we managed to construct and sugar. Converting over has exhausted our supplies and materials that normally would be used to be make alcohol, which is a core ingredient in many medicinal recipes.

This horrible illness takes about a week to kill someone and if you survive the week, certainly with some anti-biotics, you will kill the disease inside of you and be fully cured. We do not have enough vaccines to make everyone immune, but we have enough to vaccine anyone who is likely to come into contact with other stations. We also know for certain that everyone within our territory is either dead, cured, or never was infected.

Our attempts to train people to respond better did not yield that many serious results, but they did make sure we properly contained the disease.

Written Letter From Kira
From what I understand, the attempted invasion was triggered by crop failures to our south. I am fairly certain that if we ignore these people, we will sour relations for years and possibly trigger another conflict.

Production is good and we just caught another unit of salted meat. If we all pitch in together, I believe we can help these people as well.

I am already vaccinated and will be traveling to deliver what my station can spare, and I will also be ordering my people to cutback on exertion to conserve energy.

If you commit yourself to this with me, we can have very good relations with these people, and my people will be able to work at full capacity as well.

Commit everything you can spare, together we have enough for 700 people to get enough to eat
Commit everything you can spare, and make it clear that new people will not owe you. (This is a possible gamble for really high relations or the possibility of better relations with people within the Social Republic)
Commit enough spare resources that these new stations will likely have to rest and wait out partial rations or even have to use soup and sawdust as filler.
Attempt to invade these new stations
Show up with enough food for them to work a little, and demand phosphorus for the rest

After sending a telegram to this new station or stations, Junior travels with Kira's security team and enough spare people to help move all the required resources. It's about 500 kilos of cargo that is to be unloaded, not counting the containers, but only the things inside.

The journey is only a a handful of hours, as it seems push-carts are remarkably fast on cleared rails, and the process of clearing the tunnel between the Kira Station and the unknown....is a few hours.

Once there, he meets "Foreman Slavik Mikhaylov" of the "Free Workers State of ...... We only have two stations and are still working on a name....". The Foreman greets them in a feeble and hungry state, wearing what looks like a tanker's or mechanic's jumpsuit. He is otherwise wearing an ushanka which has a little fist holding a hammer stitched into it. The expedition manages to move the food to an area, basically a cafeteria or soup kitchen, where it can be prepared. Large batches of cooked meals are prepared, and loaded onto carts to be brought to the hungry people. Once the locals have recovered some, they then take the rest of the supplies and load them up on pushcarts and bring them to the other station. The Foreman seemingly has left the expedition alone, in his station, with limited supervision besides a 20 man security team equipped with Bizon SMGs.

The station they are in so far looks like someone took a very well made and beautiful metro station, and just..... took the spare rooms and made them into garages or barracks or beer halls.

Junior and Kira were informed of loud gunshots and what sounded like explosions on the surface of the first station bordering Kira's station. Examining the area, they managed to pull a heavily wounded, perhaps mortally so....mechanic of some sort. He is hastily bandaged up and moved to the best medical facility in the area, which is currently Kira's, but some of the best doctors are from The Company Station. This stranger goes under the knife a few times, but he is stabilized and is believed to be able to heal over a two week period.

Matevi says he is going to follow the blood trails and check the surface to see what happened.

Matevi and his team managed to locate about four mostly intact motorcycles, though with damage so serious they're only good for parts currently. They found lots of blood and gore pooled inside or around round scorch marks in the ground. There are shattered bits of shotguns and detonated shotgun shells in the area as well..... Salvaging the ruins, they have two units of Motorcycle Parts and 2 units of salvaged Gasoline.

Place Order With Fins:
placing a new order requires you to send what you are trading ("paying up front") and then requesting a list of what you hope to buy. If you order too many things, the most expensive thing you ordered will be paid for first. This process will then pay for the second most expensive thing, and so on, till the value of what you sent as payment is used up.

Fins typically will sell 80% of less things they have in surplus and pay 120% or more for things they value. Everything else sells or buys around standard prices. Keep in mind they hate buying types of goods they sell, and selling types of goods they hope to buy. There is also a list of items only the Fins can sell or only the Fins will buy.

For sure we need wood and sugar for our supplies. If we can make our own tools. It should be cheaper to just by the metal, but if the fins got tools we can't make I'm down. Since we have a source of it, we should offer stone and I ask we limit the electronics say up to 5. I assume the electronics will be hard to find and we'll need some, I'm sure. That said to go hard on wood I would be down for 10 of the 20 electronics. Since we'll need that wood to upgrade now more than other things.

Ten units of Electric Parts, Three units of Salt: are loaded onto the transportation equipment. A small team of Fins take them back along the rail tracks and to the Finnish homeland.

Crit Success Negotiation
A Unit of Power Tools for Construction, 16 Units of Sugar, and 16 units of Wood are unloaded; about ten days later. A note indicates that they were confused with the cap of all items ordered and so they focused on the most expensive items first. You also sent a very nice letter with your supplies and treated the shipping team well, but you traded exclusively in Import and Export goods at minimum or max prices. The exception was sugar, which runs at standard price usually.. but was discounted for you.

>Manufacture Vaccines
Moderate Success

You did not have enough sugar or alcohol to do this, but were able to "bum" the extra off this new faction you met. They expected you to order enough sugar to replenish their stocks, which you did. Due to low sugar supplies, you only made enough vaccines for 200 more people.

"Foreman Slavik Mikhaylov" of the "Free Workers State" is able to make time for you while you are placing the orders in person at one of his stations. It appears that your assistance, paired with the charismatic leaders being present, has resulted in near maximum goodwill from his stations.

The Free Workers State was formed from two stations that used radio stations and STALKER teams to stay in contact with Leningrad. There was a "worker revolt" and his faction ended up the victors. Slavik personally was a man trying to form a union in one of the "Oppressive Oligarch Corporations within the Russian Kleptocratic State". He personally hates Leningrad and the former Russia State, along with anyone loyal to them. He knows little of the USSR or history, his people are bad at science and resent "scientific elites". There are a lot of engineers, mechanics, former factory workers, and workshops.

His stations are currently Democratic and Regulated, but this is primarily due to personal experiences and hatred toward specific factions that are Police States or Free Market. He has allies and people he knows scattered across Leningrad and other stations. He suspects that in the event of a powerful enough uprising in those stations, they would join his own Free Workers State. He suggests that fixing the radio equipment and helping him expand his stations is a priority, as hostile stations might revolt at any time and refugees might show up as well. He can't spare security people to assist in the coming wars, as he needs a formal agreement to leave his south flank unsecured.... and he needs extra help with his north section. There is rubble blocking the tunnel and he is worried about the other side.

The Free Workers State of Petersburg wants to be independent, despite strong ties to the Social Republic of Petersburg.

Important Decision!

Hope Kira agrees to this and she/Matevi can spare security people for Slavik

We've already seen what wonders have resulted from the cooperation of the Stalkers, Us, and Amazons. And we know what threats are in Leningrad and the Fanatics. Stand together, or die alone.

>3.Interact or Negotiate
Junior is going to need some help, as much help as we can give him.

>1. Construction
Now that we have those new fancy construction tools and wood supplies, while the Church is still reeling, let's hurry up and build those new south fortifications before they realize we've done it.
>>
>>5302869
Trying to think if would do things in a different order, I am down. Trading favors will bring us closer in it's own way. Although I'm never a fan of owning people. The building order after defenses should be our water and then farms for food and/or herbs, I think. Isn't there is simple anti-tunneling tech we can use, like pots for better sound detection?
>>
>>5302966
Decent points, though I'd imagine having defenses there would be very useful even if we don't detect the tunnelig

>Fortify South
Requires 4 Wood/Metal + 2 Components + Skilled Engineer Team (Present)
Provides 1 point of armor, 1 point of concealment, +4/20 or 20/100 to (Perception) Checks, +2/12 to Units Morale Checks (Units all pass on 9/12, and qualify as "Hero" levels of morale. There is no risk of rout till they take 75% losses. Units take no morale penalties for being suppressed or taking wounds. )

Fortify South is completed already! The Engineering Team, extra labor, and construction tools has resulted in maddeningly fast building times!

New Discovery, Level 2 Defenses!
Hardened Cover
"is serious protection like that offered by concrete bunkers and sandbag weapon emplacements".
This type of cover provides double the concealment and cover as regular fortifications.

3 Units of Stone + 3 Components = Hardened Cover

Strong Success

Junior has given an extortionary speech, which has covered far and wide within the Free Workers State and Saint Petersburg Social Republic. A new military, medical, scientific, and economic alliance has been established. The symbol of the new alliance is a black fist of revolution and resistance, with blood dripping inside of it, and blue stained fingers. Within the new alliance, it is custom for people to have their fingers stained blue when they vote.

Critical Failure on Critical Failure

While attempting to apologize, Gustav dissolved into an incoherent, ugly, crying wreck. There was a lots of ugly crying and blowing of the nose, as Gustav cried and groveled about how he "Treated her horribly" and "almost choked her to death last time".

They reconciled, which mostly dissolved into a calming kiss from her, which dissolved into making out for about six minutes. Gustav regains his senses in his room, having avoided having sex with her this time. He has a strange letter sealed with a lipstick kiss and he realizes by feeling it up, there is something flat and round in it... about the size of the head of his thumb.

As far as he knows, the Free Workers State will be sending extra guards to be trained up soon enough. His friends and allies within the Social Republic have agreed to his proposals. Currently, the "Confederation" as people call it (Mostly to save time), appears to be the strongest military, scientific, and economic power in the Saint Petersburg Metro.

>Decision time, first to 3 or most in 20 hours
Pick from one of the numbers above or do a "write in"
You have 2 basic actions per turn to dedicate to whatever you want to get done. Using them both on the same thing provides bonuses.

Uhhhh.
What is in the letter? Are we able to find out?
>>
If the doc is up to speed (I accepted your comments) we should have 10 components right?
How much stone do we have right now? Or if we do a construction action that needs stone and we don't have it you would just divert it to working the mines right.

I'm guessing the mines aren't auto and need a turn?
>>
>>5303856
>How much stone do we have right now?
None, we've been using it as fast as we get it. We currently get 1 a week due to half a population from the other stations mining. Same for the Salt Mine.
>Or if we do a construction action that needs stone and we don't have it you would just divert it to working the mines right.
We'll do this going forward. The mines can each use up to 100 people and produce 2 units.
>>
>>5303851
>Act1 Stone for the builders
Since stone seems to be the bottle neck for building. Probably best to put man power into mining for that stone. Till we can start upgrading the buildings.

>Medical or Scouting
Since we got the Vaccines and some time as passed. If we need an action for inoculation lets start than or if not, scouting east.

Fuck

Junior be fucked. This whole relationship feels toxic as fuck. This whole alliance could be fucked if he spurns her. This is a powder keg waiting to blow if we don't do something about it.

He might need to make some unpleasant sacrifices for the benefit of the state.

>4.Manufacturing
To the mines!
We need more stone to build anything, and if we can spare it get some salt too but prioritize the stone

>3.Interact
Get advice from people we can trust. Matvei and the Administrator.
The future of the state is very important to us. And. . .our relationship with Kira is a precarious one. We should see what options we have available to us. It may be that in the benefit of the state, Junior will have to marry Kira. As private citizens of course, we aren't a noble dynasty. The last thing we need is the Amazons who are a major military and research arm segregating from the alliance due to poor relations between leaders.

Actually probably just approach them more personally too first before the political aspect. We're just a young man and we need help. What do they suggest?
>>
>>5304193
Sure
Let's hope it's not one of those situations where she likes us only because we're hard to get but the moment we marry we become boring to her.

I will be out of town for like a week, and I wasn't able to write the advice that the administrator made.

I think this thread will go cold before I get back.
>>
>>5304649
Threads are pretty slow it might actually linger, but you would be better off starting a new thread I feel.
Good luck on your trip! I'm making a short flight myself outta state.
>>
Thread is now archived. I agree that a new thread is necessary, but the problem is that (For now at least), I only want to run this one more week at most. Maybe even two or three more days.

Is there a way to have a new thread, run it a few days, archive it, and then delete it?
>>
>>5310285
You can always start a new thread, then run it as long as you intend to, then let it fall off and start a third one when you are ready to return proper
>>
>>5311231
WrapUp Thread is a go. Will be writing what the admin says soon enough.
