Saiyans. Known throughout the universe as the warrior race, their power and combat prowess proved invaluable in the Covenant's downfall. And with the largest threat to the PTO destroyed, their remnants scattered across space, the universe has been united under one banner. Peace reigns across the galaxy, under the rule of Lord Freeza, Emperor of the Universe. But not all wish it to be this way. Remnants of those who were conquered are gathering in the shadows, increasing their power, and plotting their revenge. Despite this newfound age of peace swiftly spreading across the stars, there are those who would seek its end. Will you be able to stop them, or shall the universe once more be plunged into the fires of war?

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest! This story takes place in an alternate timeline within the greater Dragonball EU. You the players control Karn: once an ordinary Saiyan warrior with a meager powerlevel of 2,830 who has risen to become a mighty Berserker Super Saiyan, and so much more. Throughout your many adventures, the “Dragon of New Salda” has grown into the symbol of Saiyan might and power, widely recognized across the universe as Freeza's close friend and confidant, not to mention his right hand man and General of his forces. From humble beginnings on the now long gone Planet Vegeta, Karn has become the pride of his people, and their greatest champion.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

Karn telepathically called King Vegeta to see how the ruler of New Salda wanted to handle Vox's machines, only to discover he knew of the incoming attack as part of Vox's promotion for the Tanya/Chaya fight. Karn then took Leyas, Sarada, Broly and Nappa on a sparring trip with King Vegeta. After the match, where King Vegeta was the last one standing, Mechikabura gave Karn a dire warning before he went on to battle the Mindslayers wearing the suit Daiko and the scientists had developed. As we rejoin Karn, you've just swept aside hundreds, if not thousands of the frog-like creatures you've only recently begun seeing.

“Impressive.” come the thoughts of the Rak'kari's strongest directly into your mind via telepathy, you glancing back and seeing him leading the hundreds of his own kind. “It is good my people have no ambitions for the land, and yours no ambition for our seas.”
“Agreed.” you reply. And while you have no doubts that you could fight even this force by yourself, having seen how quickly their magic could shred a Mindslayer, you aren't interested in trying that out for yourself. “Let's keep going.”
“A moment.” the crab-like warrior swims forward, seeming serious about something. “You just fought that horde, allow us to take the vanguard and give you time to recuperate. That attack had to have taken quite a bit out of you.”

Well?
>Tell him you're fine, and you'll take a break when you have to go back to the surface and swap out the air tanks on your suit
>Thank him and let his people take the lead for a bit, don't reveal the true extent of your power and let him think that attack was your limit
>Say that you're not ready to back off, but if he wants to fight in the vanguard beside you he can

"I'm not ready to back off, not yet." you reply to the crab-like being. "But if you want to fight up here at the front, you're more than welcome to join me."
"Very well." the Rak'kari champion says, turning back to his soldiers and ending the mental link with you for a few seconds. No doubt to issue orders to his soldiers and establish a chain of command while he's with you at the front. Then after a couple moments the mental link is reestablished. “Let's keep moving forward. The Abyssal Trench is this way.”

The Rak'kari champion swims off, slightly changing the direction you'd been heading towards. You swim alongside him, the two of you leading the way. Not towards the nearest group of Mindslayers, surprisingly, but instead directly towards the largest gathering of ki signatures you can sense.

“Is there a reason we're not going for them?” you ask, pointing towards the three Mindslayers off towards your right.
“They're of no consequence.” the champion replies. “We're after the deepest depths, and the source of these creatures. If a few survive for now it's fine, we can always take care of them later after destroying the one making them.”
“I see.” you reply, understanding. This force is gathered here and now, best to strike at your enemy with your full strength instead of wearing them out on weaker, and ultimately inconsequential targets. Then you sense something, stopping in place as your ki sense detects something from the ground directly beneath you both. “Hold on. There's something here, beneath us.”

“What do you mean?” the champion asks, curiously. “You can detect life?”
“Yes, to an extent.” you reply, closing your eyes to help you focus. You can sense it, just a singular ki source so small it may only register three digits, but it's still there. “There's something there in the ground. I think we should-”

But before you can finish your telepathic sentence, the ki signature suddenly explodes! It's power increases by several magnitude as the creature expands, turning into a massive, malformed tentacle. It immediately lunges towards you, and without hesitation thrust your ancient sword directly into it. Your magical blade pierces it's rubbery flesh, which begins to seemingly crisp and burn away from the point of impact.

“KREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!” the tentacle somehow shrieks, immediately recoiling from your weapon. Inky black blood spreads through the water around the tip of your sword, but quickly vanishes as well.
“A trap?” the champion asks, shocked by the tentacle's appearance. “Here? But we're nowhere near their territory yet.”

“Whose territory, those frog-things?” you ask, surprised as you surge forward. Without hesitation you dive down towards the sea floor, heading towards the base to deal the most damage possible. You see the champion doing the same, his claws glowing with azure power. The tentacle seems to know where you both are, and more, smaller tentacles burst from it's sides towards both of you. “HAAA!”

You swing your blade at the smaller tentacles, cutting through them with ease. At the same time, you see the Rak'kari catch two of them in it's foreclaws, chopping both in half. The tentacle shrieks in agony again, lashing out and swinging itself towards you. So you drop the hammer, and holding your blade in both hands bring it down in a Djem So overhead strike. Between the tentacle's own power, and your own might, you cut straight through the massive appendage, reducing it's length by half.

“KEEEEEEEEE!!” it howls again, as you see the champion thrusting both claws directly into its side and tearing open a wound as wide as his wingspan. Then after a few seconds of thrashing the monster goes completely limp. The severed stump flops over, and you feel it's ki signature completely vanish. Then the oddest thing happens. The tentacle turns into that black blood, and after a moment dissipates to reveal a dead froggy being holding an empty shell where the tentacle originated from.
“The hell?” you mutter, voice muffled by the suit. Why is the ocean so weird?
“These Hydae, or 'froggy creatures' as you call them are Abyss worshippers.” the champion explains to you. “As for what we just fought, they can imbue the Krakens with their Dark power and their own life force to turn them into monsters like the one we just fought.”

“So what you're saying is, there will be a lot more of these between us and the Abyss, right?” you ask, the champion nodding once solemnly as you pick up your hammer. “Guess it's a good thing we were out front then, huh?”
“Indeed.” he replies. “But knowing there could be more, we should remain out front. If one were to emerge mid-formation, it could cause serious damage to my people.

How do you proceed?
>Keep yourself and the champion out front, have him watch for other threats while you focus your ki sense exclusively on hunting these things down
>Using ki sense and Instant Transmission, try and take each of these things out before the Hydae can transform any more of the captured creatures
>Use your Scattershots to clear a swathe forward, and make absolutely sure nothing else is waiting to ambush you or the Rak'kari forces

"Allow me to handle this." you say, closing your eyes. Focusing, you end the mental link with the Rak'kari and reach out to New Salda itself. You feel the presence of your planet it your mind, its titanic voice booming in your head.
"HELLO, MY CHAMPION." it says. "DO YOU REQUIRE MY ASSISTANCE HUNTING THE MALFORMED?"
“Yes, I need your power to enhance my senses.” you reply, and immediately feel power surging into you from all around. Instead of like when you're standing on the surface, being in the water you can feel New Salda's might pouring in from all sides. At the same time, you feel your senses expanding exponentially. You can sense each and every one of the Rak'kari, the Mindslayers who haven't turned around towards your group, the Hydae clutching their captured Krakens, everything. But you also sense something else. Further ahead, you sense something wrong. It takes you a few seconds to realize that it's not something wrong, but what you're NOT sensing. Ahead of you a good dozen miles or so, your senses suddenly stop. You can't sense anything there, at all. There's an area several miles across that New Salda cannot perceive. So you decide to ask. “What is this?”

“THE SEA-DWELLERS CALL IT THE ABYSSAL TRENCH.” New Salda answers. “BEINGS NOT OF ME EMERGE FROM THAT SCAR.”
“How come I've never sensed it before?” you ask, and New Salda is quiet for a few moments.
“THE STORY IS LONG. I SHALL TELL YOU AFTER IT IS DONE.” New Salda's booming voice rings out in your mind. “BUT KNOW THIS; THAT WEAPON IS THE KEY. TO FIXING THE DAMAGE DONE.”
“I'll keep that in mind, thanks.” you answer, then focus on the Rak'kari champion. Who, you notice, has backed away from you considerably. No doubt sensing the power of New Salda itself channeling through you. “Would you watch these for me? I'll take these bastards down quick.”

Leaving your weapons on the sandy sea floor, you take a deep breath as you swim up a decent ways. Enough to look down on a large swathe of the sea floor where the Hydae are lurking. Focusing your ki, you hold both hands out, fingers spread, as you lock onto the closest ten ki signatures. Then with a shout into your rebreather, unleash your ki.

“HAAAA!” you roar, voice muffled by the suit as you fire Scatter Beams from both hands simultaneously. Your ten beams each cut through the water, piercing directly into the first ten of the frog-like Hydae. Your beams kill them instantly, and drifting forward towards them you single out the next ten. Over and over you repeat this process, and after the first fifty perish the rest of the Hydae begin panicking. Some activate their dark magic early, dozens of tentacles springing up out of the seafloor hundreds of feet out of their limited attacking ranges.

Those that do are quickly dispatched by volleys of magic from the Rak'kari, which, while not AS effective as they were against the Mindslayers, still are clearly too much for the dark appendages to handle. Meanwhile, you keep hunting down those with steelier resolves, and put them down with ease. More than a dozen simply abandon their posts, swimming away from you all and back towards the Abyss. But five of them don't run, and don't activate their traps early. Curiously, they all gather together, almost as if making themselves an easier target for you. But then you sense it. A surge of wrongness hits you through your link to New Salda, as you feel the ten ki signatures all begin melding together in a dark, shadowy cloud.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2gElxBGwjc

“GYOOOOOOOOOOOO!!” a deep, brassy roar bellows out, as a MASSIVE monster emerges from the ten beings' sacrifice. It's easily three times as large as a Mindslayer, and magnitudes stronger. The sense of wrongness that surges through your link to New Salda is greater than anything you've ever sensed before, this is something that Should Not Be. It's brownish body looks surprisingly tough, tentacles sprouting out along its body as the beast moves. Without hesitation the creature surges directly at you, far faster than you'd expected, and it immediately tries to devour you! But you're just fast enough, dropping down as the beast's head turns sideways and narrowly slipping out before it's mouth closes shut. But it's not done yet, as the tentacles along its head all try grabbing onto you.

“Death Slash!” you roar, slinging a blade of sharpened ki as the suit muffles you. Your ki slices out, and cuts into the beast's grappling appendages. But to your shock, as your attack hits the tentacles stop grabbing for you, and actually stop your attack by wrapping around and around it! You feel your Death Slash's ki begin vanishing, and as it breaks apart you realize that, somehow, this beast is able to absorb your ki through its tentacles! How are you supposed to fight something like this?

Well? What do you do? What CAN you do?
>Swim back down to the champion, and reclaim your sword. It seems that it indeed is the key to defeating such monsters
>Swim directly inside it's mouth, telepathically tell the Rak'kari to get clear, then Super Explosive Wave this massive beast from the inside until it pops.
>Final Flash directly to the face, let's see how much it really likes your ki

“Dammit!” you exhale, turning from the beast and swimming back down towards the champion and your dropped weapons as fast as you can. Your sword seemed capable of dispatching other Abyssal monstrosities like the tentacles, so surely it'll be effective against this beast too?
“CATCH!” the champion thinks, launching your sword at you like a javelin as you descend. He hurls it harder than you expected, forcing you to dodge with the Su Ma to avoid being impaled by your own tool. But as you dodge, you reach out and grab it firmly in your right hand, halting the blade as you turn back to face the creature. “GET DOWN!”

Not hesitating or questioning him, you drop down immediately at the champion's instruction. As you do, not even a full second later a dozen magical shots of varying colors split the sea where you'd been, all aimed directly at the monstrous abomination before you. Their attacks strike the beast's face, but unlike with the tentacles and Mindslayers their shots don't pierce through. Instead they burst against it's hide, the creature again roaring at you all.

“GYOOOOOOOOOOOO!!” it bellows, having forgotten you entirely as it turns towards the Rak'kari. You have to act quickly, else this monster will wreak havoc on them. As powerful as it is, even their champion would have difficulty fighting this abomination. Raising your sword once more overhead, and grasping it with both hands, you begin channeling your ki into the blade itself with several deep breaths. The ancient, enchanted blade begins glowing with azure light, with immediate effects. “GYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!”
“What?” you mutter as the titanic beast turns around, completely ignoring the still-attacking Rak'kari as it whirls back around towards you. It makes a beeline directly for you, perhaps sensing that the magical energy radiating from your weapon is dangerous to it. But it's too late now, you've already channeled enough energy. “HAAAAA!!”

With a muffled roar you swing, the azure energy leaping forth from the sword's tip like a crescent blade. The beast radiates with that wrong-feeling energy, but whatever defenses it were trying to erect aren't enough to save it. The massive blue projectile blade slashes directly through the darkness, and cleaves the beast concealed within in two! Well, mostly in two, as it wasn't perfectly straight it isn't cut into two identical halves. But the beast is dead, you sensing it's ki quickly vanish as its body turns back into that dark, blood-like substance. Then as it clears, you see the lifeless bodies of the tiny Kraken as well as the Hydae all drifting back down towards the seafloor. You take a deep breath, the Rak'kari champion swimming up to you hesitantly.

“Are...Are you alright?” he asks as you take several deep breaths, trying to even out your breathing. Don't want to burn through your tank too quickly, and have to return to the surface early.
“Just fine.” you reply, reaching out with your telekinesis and grabbing your hammer off the sandy ground. It flies up into your palm, you catching it with ease. “Let's keep moving.”

He nods, turns to his people to issue orders, then the two of you lead the way deeper into the ocean. With you at the champion's right, the two of you easily cross a third of the distance from the Rak'kari city to the Abyssal Trench's nearest side easily and with no further issues. You sense beings moving out to the sides, and a few Mindslayers passing by above, but the Rak'kari champion ignores them in his continual push directly towards the Abyssal Trench. While you don't much like the idea of getting surrounded, you can at least save yourself if the situation turns sideways. But just as you sense another group of two dozen Mindslayers rapidly approaching you all, suddenly you hear a beep. Confused, you look around until you see that a small red light has lit up next to what you think is the air tank. Which can only mean one thing: you're out of air. And what unbelievable timing, there's no way it's even been half an hour!

"I have to leave." you think to the Rak'kari champion, gesturing to his suit as he turns to face you. "This light means I'm out of air and have to get more, now."
"Very well. We will hold them off." he replies, ending the mental link abruptly as his azure glow more than doubles. You have to shield your eyes from the sudden brightness, the right hand going to your forehead instead covering you from the light. The warrior then charges forward, glowing brighter and brighter as he closes towards the twelve Mindslayers. Meanwhile you change your telepathy's target to B7 while you focus on only his ki.

“Air's out, headed up now.” you tell him, the first two fingertips of your sword hand on your forehead. Then, before the Saldaman can reply, you teleport directly to his side. One second you're in the ocean, the next find yourself standing beside B7, Daiko, the box of air tanks, and a soaking-wet Caulifla of all people waiting as well with her too-big golden spear. Ending the mental link, you hold your arms out and away from the suit, while addressing your daughter telepathically. “Hey kiddo, what's going on?”
“I wanna help!” she says, her forcefulness surprising you. “Let me fight the Dark too!”
“Let's see.” you say, turning to a haggard-looking Daiko as B7 removes the empty tank from your chest, and already know the answer. But it's for your daughter, so you ask anyways and open a three-way mental link. “Do you all have a suit her size?”

“Sorry. But as I have been telling her, we do not.” he answers, shaking his head. “Unless she were to grow to your size to use the first prototype, or even grow to a normal adult size, we could set her up with one. But, unfortunately, we didn't anticipate making a child-sized fight suit.”
“Damn.” you say, then look over at your daughter. Stabbing your sword into the dirt, you reach out and ruffle her hair with your right hand. “Sorry kiddo, but he doesn't have one your size.”
“I don't need one of those!” she argues, temper flaring as she, holds up something unfamiliar. It looks almost like one of the Kraken, once imbued with the Dark magics of the Hydae. “I have this!”
“What the hell is that?” you ask, hearing a sudden hiss from your chest. Looking down, you see B7 tightening a knob of some sort, then with a click the hissing stops.
“All set.” he says, giving you a thumbs up. You return the gesture, and taking a deep breath breathe in the slightly off-tasting air before turning back to your daughter.

“I got it from some people who were all eaten by the Dark, long long ago.” she explains, holding it up to her own head. “If I wear it, I can breathe underwater! And even better, it'll absorb any Dark magic instead of me! So can I? Can I come help? Please?”

Well? What do you say?
>Sure, just stay behind me and don't get in the Rak'kari's way
>Ask Meloka if she can come along, she's the one who didn't want the kids anywhere near the Mindslayers after all
>Tell her not yet, but once you've gotten to the Abyssal Trench then she can join in
>Say yes, but you want her to focus on healing and protecting the Rak'kari more than battling the Dark monsters
>Absolutely not, this battlefield is far too dangerous this time.

"You know what, why not Cauli?" you say with a smirk. "Just stay behind me, and don't get in the Rak'kari's way. Their magic is dangerous.”
“Will do!” she replies enthusiastically, smiling from ear to ear and flashing up into an Ascended Saiyan before donning the monstrous-seeming helm. Once she puts it on, she lays a hand on your side, voice muffled by the strange helm. “Ready!”

You nod, raising your right hand to your forehead and again focus. With New Salda's boosted awareness you can find him easily, even among the battlefield's chaos. Despite being surrounded, that's the best place for you to drop in. And with a second's focus, once more use your Instant Transmission to get back into the fight. One moment you are all standing on the surface, the next you're back in the sea behind the Rak'kari's champion. He's claws-deep into the eyes of one of the Mindslayers, and with a vicious jerking motion tears its eye out completely. Another two are being barraged by the Rak'kari magical onslaught, quickly being torn to shreds as the remaining six all circle the champion. And now you and Caulifla too.

“Stay close.” you think to her, then dash towards one lunging at the distracted warrior. As it opens its mouth to unleash that devastating psychic scream, you're quicker, and stab it through the eye with your sword. The beast howls in unfocused pain, you jerk the blade free while swinging down with the gravity hammer simultaneously. The heavy club hits, unleashing that devastating shock wave that de-materializes the beast's head in a single blow.
“HAAAAA!!” you hear Caulifla's muffled roar as she goes on the attack, glancing over your shoulder see her dive into one's mouth. She thrusts the spear that's too big for her up into the roof of its mouth, all the way to the cross-guard; the armor-piercing point protruding out from the creature's skull in a spray of blood. Killing it instantly. You then rush past the one you killed, surging at the one above you all as it also opens its mouth. Shit, you won't make it in time!

“HAAAA!” you roar, voice muffled as you draw your right arm back quickly and pitch the sword directly at its head like a javelin. Right as the beast tries to unleash that attack, your blade pierces straight into its skull! Just like how Caulifla's spear pierced up through its head, your sword does the same. However, without the heavy cross-guard, your sword actually pierces straight THROUGH its head. “Shit!”

You then reach out with telekinesis, grabbing onto your blade and stopping it from flying further away. Then with a thought draw it back towards your open hand as you fly towards a third beast, the hilt slamming into your palm with force just as you get within striking range.

“HRRAAAAA!!” you roar, swinging your blade directly into the back of the third's neck. Your sword cleaves the beast's spine clean in two, its head hanging onto its body by only a sliver of meat. The Rak'kari champion turns as he hears your blade cleave the monster. The champion gives you a salute, then the two of you turn back to face the final monster.
“HYAAAAAA!!” Caulifla roars, firing a bolt of lightning from her spear directly at the beast. As she does, you see the lightning arc around her as well. Perhaps that'll teach her that lightning isn't the best element to use while submerged.
“GRRROOOOAAAAAA!!” the Mindslayer roars as its body writhes in pain, then after a half-dozen seconds the beast's ki fully vanishes. Sparks dance along its body as the lifeless Mindslayer drops towards the ground, your daughter turning to you and saluting you enthusiastically with her spear. Seeing this, however, the Rak'kari champion turns towards her. The monster lowers itself, covering its exposed underside with claws forward menacingly. It looks like he's about to attack your daughter!

“Hold!” you order telepathically, dashing between the Rak'kari champion and Caulifla. “That's my daughter. She just found that head wear, and is using it to breathe underwater as well. Like my suit protects me.”
“She's tainted by the Darkness.” the champion replies, not relaxing his stance. “It must not be allowed to spread.”
“She killed the beast who's head that was, and is only wearing its head to protect her from the Dark.” you say, not lowering your arms. “If you doubt me, ask her yourself.”

The champion glares at you, and not changing his stance abruptly ends the connection. Caulifla swims out between yourself and the crab-like warrior, not taking a fighting stance or even appearing concerned by his apparent aggression. They speak telepathically for nearly half a minute before his mind re-connects to your own, his stance immediately relaxing.

“I will trust your vouch for her.” he says. “But if she turns, I will not hesitate.”
“Fair enough.” you reply, giving him a shallow nod before turning back towards the Abyssal Trench. “Let's keep goi-Wait, more?”
“I do not see any more.” he replies, you adding Caulifla to this mental chat as you continue.
“No, just now. From the Trench.” you say, eyes widening as you sense them. Tens, no, hundreds of thousands of the frog-like Hydae are all swarming out from it. But they aren't alone, as two dozen Mindslayers have also just emerged from that darkness. And they're all heading right towards you all! “Hundreds of thousands of the Hydae, all headed right for us!”

“Hydae?” Caulifla asks, confused. “What's that?”
“Little frog-like creatures that can use magic.” you tell her. “Each one by itself isn't that dangerous, but there's at least half a million of them all headed for us.”
“How long?” the champion asks simply. No doubt wanting to plan a defense against such numbers. “How quickly will they be here?”
“At the speed they're currently moving...” you say, closing your eyes and focusing exclusively on your ki sense to get a better feel for what's happening. They're still dozens and dozens of miles away, but closing in quickly. Fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, they're faster swimmers than the accompanying Mindslayers and will arrive far sooner. “They'll be here in two minutes, tops. The Mindslayers with them will be right behind them too.”

“How do you want to handle this?” he asks you, seeming disquieted by the numbers. “We can dig ourselves down into the sand here, and defend ourselves with magic from the worst of the Hydae onslaught. But you surface dwellers don't possess hardened armor like us, and aren't suited to such fighting. Or we could spread out, and attempt to suppress their numbers by slowing their advance like a net. Unless you have more shots like that one left in you?”

Well? How do you handle this?
>Have Caulifla hold your hammer while your tail holds your sword, swim out before the Rak'kari and unleash more of those ultra-powerful Scattershot attacks into their approaching forces to thin their ranks
>Have the Rak'kari dig in, and as the horde approaches have Caulifla and yourself use wide-area attacks from behind their buried, defended formation. Forcing them to swim over the defended Rak'kari, who can attack up at them to get at you and your daughter
>Have Caulifla and the Rak'kari champion hold onto your weapons, Instant Transmission into the center of their forces and unleash a massive Red Dawn. Then have your allies charge in and mop up as soon as your attack's finished

"Have your people dig in here.” you say telepathically to the Rak'kari champion. “We'll take up positions behind your forces, and set up a crossfire. That way to get at me and my daughter, they'll have to get over you all. And we'll cover your forces as well, firing horizontally into their forces and slowing them down.”
“Understood.” he replies, ending the mental link and swimming down to his forces on the sea floor. As he does, Caulifla turns towards you. And despite not being able to see her face, just by judging your daughter's body language, she's terrified.
“Half a million.” she thinks, the shock evident. “How are we supposed to fight that?”
“Not alone.” you reply, swimming over and putting your left arm over her shoulders while guiding her over the swiftly-burying Rak'kari. “We fight together, using our allies as they use us so we all can get through this.”

“Is that why we're hiding behind them?” she asks, turning her head up to look at you. At least, you think she's looking at you. With all the red eyes all over that dark creature's head, you aren't entirely certain where she's looking. “So they go after them first?”
“Partially.” you reply, drifting down to land on the sandy ground and turn her to face the crab people's defenses. Which settle in surprisingly quickly, the hundreds of Rak'kari all but invisible as they've settled down into the sand. Only by looking closely do you occasionally see a small area of exposed shell. Without your ability to sense ki, you would never suspect that hundreds of warriors are lying in wait for an ambush, forming a thick crescent moon shape beneath the sands. “But see? They're also using us as bait, to lure the Hydae directly into their trap. And once the enemy are above them, they'll attack as one and kill hundreds at once. But you know what this means, right?”

“Don't shoot the ones right above them?” she asks, creepy Dark head tilting to the side curiously.
“Exactly.” you reply, setting your hammer and sword down before lacing your fingers together and stretching them before you. “We have to funnel them in, and try to draw as many over the trap as possible. It'll only work at full effectiveness once, but after that first attack they'll start drawing the Hydae's attention as well. Then we'll have to cover them, as they cover us. Hopefully, we'll be able to grind these numbers down without the Rak'kari taking too many casualties.”
“Uhh, Dad?” Caulifla asks, voice nervous through the mental link. “Is it just me, or is the water over there getting...Darker?”
“They're coming.” you say, clenching your fists. There are so many Hydae approaching that they've darkened the ocean itself, blocking the faint sunlight drifting down to this level as they all surge forward as one. This is going to be a battle.

“Tha-That's a lot.” Caulifla says with a gulp, while you only smirk under your mask. This is going to be fun. “That's a whole lotta lot.”
“Don't tell me you're wanting to go back?” you ask, Caulifla shaking her head after a moment of what you think is serious thought.
“No. I'mma fight.” she replies, golden aura blazing up around her.
“Atta girl. Now, how about we give them a proper hello?” you ask, drawing your right arm back and gathering ki for a Scattershot.
“Right!” she says, switching her spear to her left hand and mirroring you. But then she stops, drawing her little bell into her hand. “Hold on, let me do this first. It'll make us both stronger!”

“Go ahead.” you reply, focusing on your ki, you draw more and more into your Scattershot until the orb is as large as your transformed torso. But then suddenly you feel it, magic surging into you. But as it does, you can feel your body growing stronger! The orb in your hand suddenly grows about ten percent larger, you looking over to your daughter as she lowers her hand. You notice golden magic glowing around her, and your own body as well.
“There!” she shouts, then after passing it to her tail mirrors you and begins focusing her own ki. She makes an orb a full third the size of your own, then shouts, “Ready!”

“FIRE!” you shout, launching your massive emerald orb forward. Caulifla pitches her smaller golden orb as well, your attacks touching over the hidden Rak'kari. Your larger orb absorbs hers, and almost immediately your attack doubles in size. Then as it passes over the Rak'kari lying in wait, your orb breaks apart. The one giant orb splits into maybe two hundred orbs, each one more than thrice as fast as the giant one. The Scattershot orbs live up to their name and scatter, covering the rest of the distance in a blink. Then the orbs start striking their targets, and detonating with tremendous prejudice. Each blast consumes dozens of Hydae, a few even taking down a score or more at once each. A couple seconds later the shock waves from the blasts strike, Caulifla pushed back about two feet through the loose sand before sliding to a stop. “Alright kiddo, now that we've said hello; let's really show them what we're made of!”

If it ain't broke...
Sidenote, I wonder if it's possible to make the super scattershot fire at a different trajectory than the initial orb of energy.
For example, pitching it directly foward and detonating it after some distance, with the actual projectiles shooting off to the side or even back towards where the first ball came.

"How about I break this one out again?" you mutter, crossing your arms before you as you focus. You haven't used this technique in a while, better to play it safe and make sure you do everything right.
"Daddy?" Caulifla asks, as your aura starts blazing up around you, enshrouding your form. "Are you-?"
"HAAA!" you shout through the mask and begin splitting your body. Your one body becomes two, then as you keep the technique going the two bodies split into four. All four of you take a deep breath simultaneously, ending the splitting technique. “Alright. Let's do this.”
“Woah! I forgot you could do that!” Caulifla says excitedly to you via telepathy. “This is gonna be so cool!”

“Hit them hard kiddo.” you reply, all four of you drawing your right arms back simultaneously and quickly gather ki for a volley of Scattershots. “Show these monsters what Saiyans can do! HAAAAAA!!”

Then all four of you launch your attacks simultaneously, four emerald orbs the size of your torsos all fly out directly towards the incoming horde. Your attacks split once past your hidden allies, the four orbs becoming several hundred far faster projectiles. The emerald explosives' speed triple, closing the rest of the distance in less than a blink. There are so many Hydae swimming towards you all so tightly-packed together that they can't even dodge, forced by those behind them to keep pressing onward directly into your attacks. The hundreds of explosive orbs all crash into the horde simultaneously, detonating together and consuming more than a thousand Hydae all at once. And in almost any other battle, that would have made a dent in the enemy forces. But they keep charging through the smoke, swimming past and through the bloody remains of their fellows as they keep swimming forward. So you don't let up, again gathering your ki and unleashing another volley.

“HYAA!” Caulifla shouts, surging upright and thrusting her chime towards the onrushing enemy. You see a golden orb of light appear in the sea just before them, and then something incredible happens. Dozens of bolts of lightning begin firing out from the orb! You watch, jaws dropping as her magical bolts begin electrocuting hundreds of the beasts at a time. The lightning spreads from each of the bolts themselves, electrocuting those even dozens of yards from each point of impact. Her attack ends after a few seconds, that one orb as effective as any of your Scattershots. But the horde just keep pressing forward relentlessly.

You continue unleashing volley after volley of Scattershots, killing the approaching Hydae by the thousand, but their numbers seem endless. “Focus your fire more towards the edges!” you think back to her, all four of you drawing your arms back and preparing to fire once more. “We have to draw them onto the trap.”
“Okay!” she replies, drawing both hands back as she gathers her ki.
“HAAA!” you roar, all four pitching your Scattershots once more. But this time, instead of aiming for the thickest mass of the enemies, you fire your attacks two each out towards the sides. You fire one, two, three barrages, leaving the center path wide open while suppressing the ones not approaching directly. So naturally the frog-like Hydae surge towards the five of you, thinking this is their chance. But they never even knew what hit them.

“NOW!” you think to the Rak'kari champion the moment the first Hydae crosses over the last of his people, closing in on you and your daughter. Then the Rak'kari unleash a powerful, combined blast of magic. The initial magical flare's blast consumes thousands of Hydae all at once, then as it explodes even more perish. You quit attacking the moment their attack goes off, instead shielding yourselves and Caulifla within four of your Barriers. Their magical blast is so potent it actually destroys the first two quarter-strength Barriers outright, the third and fourth holding on until their attack ends.

Ending the shields you look over, and can sense that their ambush attack killed more of the Hydae than all of your stalling efforts so far. It was tremendous, and to your enhanced ki senses can tell that more than twenty thousand of the Hydae perished in that one attack. And were it any other foe, this would have probably at least stalled their attack. But these Abyss-worshipping frogs don't even slow down, continuing to charge directly for both all of you and your daughter, but now begin swimming down towards the now-exposed Rak'kari as well.

“HAAA!!” you roar, firing four more Scattershots, this time splitting the blasts directly over your Rak'kari allies. The orbs split into hundreds of smaller explosive shots, clearing out those that got close to the crab soldiers and giving them enough time to recover from their own blast. First to recover is of course the Champion, his azure-glowing claw pointing up and firing a piercing lance of magical energy. His attack pierces through dozens of Hydae bodies effortlessly, acting almost as a starting gun for his troops, who all open fire as well. Hundreds of Rak'kari firing magical lances at full speed together, directly into the onrushing frogs' formation is quite devastating. With each lance able to pierce straight through more than a dozen bodies before running out of power and dissipating is impressive. And for now, covering you and your daughter from the front.

“Protect the Rak'kari!” you order Caulifla, keeping your Scattershot fire focused to the sides, and the Hydae who try circumventing the Rak'kari's position. “HRRAAAA!!”

You continue firing off Scattershot volleys into the aproaching Hydae as the crab-like Rak'kari fire thousands of magical lances a second up into the frog-filled sea above them. They can't get close to your crabby allies, as those that somehow do manage to swim down inbetween the insane amout of magical mayhem rising from them meet a swift end at your daughter's hands.
“HAAAAA!!” she shouts, throwing a spinning, golden magical disc from her little bell as wide across as your shoulders. The circular blade cuts through their bodies without resistance, passing all the way through to the far side of the Rak'kari formation. But as she keeps throwing them, you notice something odd. After a few seconds of hovering and spinning, slicing through any Hydae that get too close, the discs begin flying back towards your daughter! Cutting through even more of the frog-like creatures as they return back to your daughter's bell.

“Huh. Now that's pretty efficient.” you think to yourselves as you continue the barrage, destroying Hydae by the hundreds yourself. Sure her attack doesn't have the sheer power that each of yours do. But if the energy is actually returning to her, to be used again? That would mean that this attack is self-replenishing, and allowing her to use it potentially infinitely. A good strategy against a vastly-numerically superior force like this.
“KREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!” comes a familiar roar, and to your horror another of the massive, malformed tentacles spring to life from within the Hydae's ranks! Then another, and another, within a few seconds more than twenty of the Abyssal abominations have suddenly appeared above the Rak'kari. Their magic isn't as effective against them, this could be trouble!

But what do you do?

"Dammit!" you mutter, realizing the gravity of the situation you're in. If those tentacles are allowed to remain, they'll snatch the Rak'kari right out of the ground and tear them to shreds. You have to do something about this! But what? Suddenly you see it, your sword still standing point-down in the sand behind one of you. And idea comes to mind, and with your four sets of eye appraise the battlefield. The tentacles haven't stopped spawning, now there are more than thirty of them above the Rak'kari. Meanwhile they keep up the pressure, attacking all of you from the sides still as well. But the forces to your left seem to be rushing more compared to your right. So your center-right body quits firing, turning around and grabbing onto the great sword in both hands.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZMg9ryeWOw

“Alright, you Abyssal bastards.” you mutter, holding the sword overhead in both hands and channeling your ki into it while your other three bodies continue firing Scattershots at the Hydae. “Take THIS!!”

You swing your sword, firing a vertical slashing blade of magical azure energy up into the mass of descending tentacles. Your first slash cuts straight through four of them, the tentacles screeching in pain as ghostly azure fire burns both sides of the injuries. Drawing the sword back to your left side, you again channel your ki into it as your other three bodies continue suppressive Scattershot fire towards the flanks. But you notice the side with only one you is quickly losing ground, the Hydae realizing the weakness of that side and rushing it.

“Cauli, help defend the right side!” all of you call out at once, as your sword-wielding self again fires a devastating magical slash upwards. Your left-to-right horizontal slash dismembers a dozen stretching, reaching tentacles, all of them screeching in pain as their flesh is torn and burned. But you immediately follow up with a reverse, slashing a second blade directly behind the first, just at a bit higher angle.
“KREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!” the tentacles all cry out in pain, you grinning as you pull your sword up over you for another overhead swing. Spacing your hands as far apart on the hilt as possible, your right choking up on the cross guard while your left goes down to the pommel. You pour even more ki into the blade for this one, it radiating with azure light as you plant your feet. You can sense something gathering up somewhere in the masses above your Rak'kari allies. Whatever it is, you have a bad feeling about it. So you're going to cut it down before it can become a problem.

“HRYAAAAAAAAAA!!” you roar, swinging the ancient blade with all your might. You fire a massive slashing blade up, more than double the size of the first three. But just as it begins cutting through what's left of the tentacles, you hear an unfamiliar bellowing, croaking roar. Then, almost too fast to process, you see what look like some sort of tongues all snap out from the mass of Hydae, snapping down onto the Rak'kari's hardened shells. The clearly-sticky tongues grab onto more than a dozen of your allies' hardened shells each, snapping them up and into the mass of frog-filled sea. Your blade's slash cuts through over a hundred of the Hydae before crashing into something harder, still cutting into whatever that huge powerlevel is. But your slash was weakened by cutting through so many lesser beings, and wasn't fully able to slash through it. Then, you see a mass moving, and after a moment the lerrer Hydae part, a massive creature swimming through.

“What is THAT?!” you hear Caulifla cry out, no doubt seeing the same thing. It looks like an amalgamation of Hydae and some sort of serpent creatures, more than a dozen frog-like heads on a singular body with a painful-looking slash across its chest. The hydra-like frog creature then roars with all of its voices at one, every head looking directly at you.
“KEEEEEEROOOOROOOOROOOO!!” it roars, the beast's undulating voice sounding both haunting and oddly not-terrifying to you for some reason. But then each head fixates on a separate target, one for each of your 'unarmed' bodies, one for Caulifla, two for the you wielding the sword, and the rest turning back to the Rak'kari. And as one, they fire their tongues at you all.

“HAAAAAA!!” you roar, swinging the blade horizontally and cutting three of the tongues heading towards both of you on the right with a single slash. The other two Karn fire Death Slashes at the lightspeed tongues, severing them mere feet from your bodies, but the others find their marks. Dozens of the Rak'kari are suddenly hoisted up towards the monster's mouths, your daughter screaming in terror. “CAULI!!”

But before you can react with anything more than a shout, she's gone. The beast's jaws snap shut, swallowing your daughter whole. Which is a mistake it won't live to regret. You see that one's neck quickly changing colors from green to red, then its neck suddenly explodes! Revealing your daughter standing there on the stump of it's neck, her Stand Triumph unfurling its blazing wings from around her. You grin, it widening as she directs her Stand to incinerate the massive beast. As it cries out in pain, body rapidly disintegrating from the heat, you can't help but feel proud of your little girl. Go on, Caulifla, and show these monstrosities what you can really do!

Here’s a small taste of what the patrons will be getting later this week, in the Patron-exclusive Extra story. Won’t interfere with our regularly-scheduled intermission here in-thread, just a special bonus for those helping me pay for comms

Man. Kid Buu got absolutely fucked up in Amaya's timelines didn't he.
>>
>>5296087
I’ll say this much, that one will show just how BROKEN Majin Buu is

As for this week's intermission, not sure which I should do. Should we follow up on the Kazuma/Freeza storyline, and getting us closer to the Remnants? Chaya's unexpected battle? Or maybe Chilli's invitation to the royal capitol of Belzerg? So many plotlines outside of Karn to cover, but which one this week?
>>
>>5296477
I say we stick with Kazuma and Frieza.

The Kazuma story does most directly involve in the Remnants main plot. Especially as he gets to show off his sneaky side.

QM UPDATE

Okay, so I’ve got kinda big news on my end to share, as this will affect the quest. My sister and her soon-to-be baby daddy just closed on a house. Which of course means that they’ll need help moving, since my 7 to 8 months (can’t remember which) pregnant sister won’t be lifting much. All this to say that 176 will not continue this weekend, as I’ll be spending a whole lot of time helping them out with that.

Take your time man, and tell the happy couple congrats.
>>
>>5297286
Will do. Would RATHER be running the quest than moving furniture, but as the man said:

With my internet still down, I’m not going to be able to post this intermission tonight. Hopefully it’ll be back up by tomorrow evening, and I’ll be able to post the thing then. In the meantime, who are some characters’ pov you’re hoping to see before this arc’s through? Allies? Enemies? Unexplored alternative timelines or time patrol shennanigans? And as for Chaya, are you wanting to observe her greatest challenge from a spectating Karn’s perspective, or have more interactivity by playing the gauntlet as Champion Chaya?

I want to know what that NEET Zoldyck asshole is up to. We haven't seen much of him. Of course there's the Ginyu Force, King Cold, Kommand'r seething about child support, and our dear friend Ubo. What's he up to these days?

As for Chaya, I'd rather be an observer. This is supposed to be HER moment, and Mechi did say she was bound to lose the match in the end.

>I want to know what that NEET Zoldyck asshole is up to
Spoilers. You’ll see, later.
>Ginyu Force
They’re on Freeza’s ship, and actually play a role in this upcoming intermission.
>King Cold
Soon. Freeza has to land back on King Cold’s planet to get his chance at a Stand before going to Namek. Komand’r’s out of the story for a while, but she’ll have her return. And Ubo’s busy, pursuing something rather important to him.

Just a reminder this episode won’t be continuing this weekend, as I’ll be a mover instead.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 176 Intermission-

AGE 750, FREEZA'S SPACESHIP

“Welcome back to the world of the living, Kazuma.” comes the voice of Lord Freeza himself as you feel consciousness returning to your body. Opening your eyes, the first thing you see is Aqua looking down on you, which explains the soft sensation under your head. But as you look towards your feet, you see the emperor of the universe standing beside his private terminal. “We've been ezpecting you.”
“Good to be back.” you lie, wishing immediately that you were back with the beautiful and awe-inspiring Goddess Eris. Taking a deep breath, you then sigh out to get the blood flowing through your recently-deceased body.

You are Satou Kazuma: adventurer, isekai'd 'hero' turned advisor to the strongest being in the universe, and once again recently un-deceased. After giving Lord Freeza early knowledge of the Dragonballs, you'd gotten the opportunity to leave that good-for-nothing world behind. You'd thought being on board Freeza's ship as an advisor would be a far safer position, but here you are, recently undead again.

“Now, what was I saying before...This?” you ask him, gesturing down at yourself while still laying on the ground. You know, from unfortunate experience, that dying is extremely traumatic on your body. So instead of trying to stand back up immediately, you instead continue to lay there on the ground and lap pillow.
“You had been trying to give me a warning.” he says casually, hands clasped behind his back. “You had said something along the lines of he wasn't alone. But the room was empty besides the two of you, once I kicked the door you'd frozen in.”
“I did?” you ask, trying to think back. Your short-term memory of the events just before your death are always fuzzy. But then, over his shoulder you see the word you'd frozen into the wall, and memories flood back in. “Cerula.”
“Ceru-How do you know that name?” Freeza asks, suddenly far more intense than he had been moments ago. “Where did you hear about it?”
“He said it. Wait, where did he....go?” you ask, looking around for the traitor.
“He's being....Interrogated by the Ginyu Force.” Freeza replies, grinning maliciously a moment before his expression returns to being serious. “Are you saying he told you about it?”
“I heard him saying something about sending everyone back there, as Cooler is heading towards them.” you reply, rembering everything. “That's what he was talking about before he got a message through his scouter. The voice warned him that you were headed his way, right now.”

“What you're saying is he has an accomplice? Here, aboard MY ship?” Freeza asks, clearly getting mad. But he's also contemplative, raising a hand to his chin, thinking aloud. “This would explain how he would have been able to avoid detection for so long, having someone else play guardian angel for our little rat. But there are only two techs who have access to the cameras, it shouldn't take long to figure out which one of them it was.”
“But what if someone's just standing around, watching you while they're invisible or something?” Aqua asks idly, the emperor freezing at her question a moment before slowly turning towards her. Which is a, well, honestly surprisingly good point actually. You learned of the Great War with the Covenat, who're also a thing in this universe for some reason. Or, at least they WERE.

“A surprisingly astute observation. I hadn't even considered such a thing.” Freeza says, closing his eyes. Everything's quiet for a second or two, then suddenly Guldo of the Ginyu Force just appears between you and Lord Freeza. No warning, nothing, he wasn't there one moment and there the next. You blink a couple times, shocked at how terrifying Time Freeze is as an ability. “Status report, Guldo.”
“No one is currently invisible, or holding onto any obvious stealth technology here aboard the ship, Lord Freeza.” Guldo says, kneeling before the emperor. “Not even any of the newcomers.”
“Excellent work, as always. Thank you Guldo.” he says, giving his elite a nod of appreciation. “Too bad our traitor isn't so easily caught.”
“Wait! I just had an idea!” you declare, Freeza and Guldo both turning to look your way. “His scouter! The message came through on his scouter. So his conversations should be recorded on it, right? He wouldn't have had any time to delete anything from it before you showed up. So if we grab his scouter and play back the audio, you'll have the accomplice's voice as well!”

Guldo and Freeza exchange a look, then Guldo simply vanishes once more. You're feeling proud of yourself, but then another thought comes to mind. Your hand goes to your chin as you think aloud, contemplating.

“But it can't be this easy. The accomplice would have known the gig's up the moment he heard what's happening.” you say confused. He would know that death is the best-case scenario for being found a traitor. Or agonizing, painful torture if you're unlucky. As a sneaky bastard yourself, you would have had a contingency plan in place should your partner get caught. And what's one thing every sci-fi spaceship has? “Lord Freeza, your ship doesn't happen to have a-?”

“Self-destruct sequence initiated.” an automated female voice calls out over the ship's comms. “Sixty seconds until detonation. All personnel, please evacuate immediately.”
“..... Destruct. Dammit.” you say, Freeza and Aqua both looking around confused.
“Eh? EHHH??” Aqua shouts, her panic clearly rising. S-S-Self destruct? Don't tell me this whole ship is going to blow up?!”
“How did you.... Nevermind. Do not worry, I have the override.” Freeza says calmly, lifting just off the ground and floating towards the newly-doorless entryway. “I'll handle this, and take care of our little rat. Thankfully, he's just revealed his position.”

With that Freeza begins floating out of the room, disappearing around the corner as Aqua gets up, and rushes over to your feet and begins dragging you. Ignoring her for a moment, you telepathically reach out to Yunyun and Darkness, letting them know not to worry and that the ship isn't about to blow up. Then, ending the mental link, you see Aqua's already dragged you to the doorway.

“Come on Kazuma, we gotta go! Before the whole ship blows up!” she shouts, panicked. “Let's find the escape pods and get out of here!”

Suddenly all of the pieces fit together. A mere ship explosion wouldn't kill Freeza, even in his weaker 'canon' of DBZ, he survived a PLANET exploding directly in his face when he was only half a man left. This wouldn't be enough to harm him. But it WOULD provide excellent cover to sneak out of the ship, grabbing an escape pod and launching them all before they could be filled. If you were a traitor, you wouldn't die for the cause. You'd want to live, and reap the rewards! So your traitor's accomplice is no-doubt headed that way. But what can you do about it?

“Don't worry, Freeza's got that.” you reply to her, then close your eyes and focus once more on your telepathy. You haven't actually gotten a chance to speak with 'the fastest man in the universe' yet, but now's when his talent is needed! “Burter! Listen close: a traitor set off that alarm. Don't let anyone leave through the escape pods!”
“Who're you?” comes the immediate reply. “How are you on this channel?”
“Oi, you'd better git to explainin', real quick.” Jeice follows up, even when speaking mentally he keeps his accent.
“Lord Freeza just caught a traitor, and his partner set off the self-destruct sequence!” you tell them both. “But the traitor isn't going to stick around, they'll be looking for a way out! You're the fastest in the universe, right Burter? Don't let them get away!”
“I'm on it!” the Blue Hurricane declares, ending the mental link with you as he no-doubt goes to secure that escape path. And with Jeice, and shortly the entire Ginyu Force on high alert, the likelihood of escaping unnoticed just went down to zero.

“Why are you still dragging me?” you ask Aqua, opening your eyes to find yourself laying in the hallway as she tries to drag you. “The self-destruct isn't going to go off. Freeza's got this.”
“Are you sure?” she asks, worried.
“He wouldn't want to replace a whole spaceship now, would he?” you reply, holding a finger up and anticipating the alarm going off with your declaration. A second of awkward silence goes by, then a second, and then a third as well. You begin feeling a bit nervous yourself, and right as you're about to say something, everything goes quiet. “There, see?”

“False alarm, everyone.” Freeza then declares over the same system, voice calm and smooth while addressing his entire crew. “Someone thought it would be a good idea to betray us, and go rogue. But Burter has just informed me that he's caught the criminal responsible, and Captain Ginyu has their co-conspirator locked away. The situation has been resolved, you may all return to your posts.”
“Oh. That's good.” Aqua says idly, dropping your feet as she turns around with a big yawn. “Phew, I'm beat! Next time you wanna go run off and die, could you not do it while I'm asleep? I'd appreciate it.”

You just now notice she's not in her usual divine attire, instead wearing her pajamas. She then walks past you, still laying on the floor as she heads back towards your rooms aboard the ship.

“Not like I wanted to.” you reply, and slowly you push yourself upright as well. Your body feels sluggish and unresponsive, but you unfortunately know from experience that that's only temporary. Once you've gotten a few good nights' rest, and eaten well to replenish all that blood lost, you'll be right as rain. It just sucks in the short term.

As you shamble back towards the room you all share, suddenly you hear a door slide open to your left. You turn, curious, but before you realize what's happening a shadowed figure has clasped one hand over your mouth, the other holding what's probably a knife to your throat, and pulls you into the room they'd been lurking in. You don't resist, since your body isn't responding well anyways, and as they pull you in the door slides shut with a hiss behind you.

“Don't talk yet, okay?” a familiar-sounding voice whispers, then as the person deactivated their Lurk Thief-class ability, you recognize them immediately. Darkness's friend and the one who'd taught you her Thief skills, the flat woman Chris. Her silver hair seems to almost glow in the dim light of what seems to be a janitorial closet of some sort, and as you recognize her you nod, once. Slowly.

“Thank goodness I found you. I was so worried, when I first got here an alarm just started blaring!” she explains, letting go of you and wrapping her arms around herself. As she does, you realize just how close you two are standing in this enclosed space, and can't help but feel your heart skip a beat. “Then I heard the alarm was a self-destruct, and thought I got sent here just to die. But then it stopped, and I saw you and Aqua walking this way.”
“Better you found me before any of Freeza's men.” you agree. “They just had two traitors get exposed. But how in the hell did you get here? We're in the middle of space, God knows how far away from your planet. And, more importantly, WHY ARE YOU HERE?”

The last bit you ask in a seething whisper, all this stress isn't good for your recently-deceased heart. If you have a heart attack, can Aqua even revive you from that? Or is her ability like the Dragonballs you're after, and can't resurrect someone who died of 'natural causes'? Something you should make a point of asking her later.

“The goddess Eris came to me in a vision, and told me she had a special mission that only I could complete.” she replies proudly, puffing out her board of a chest. “She told me that you will be visiting another world where a stolen divine relic resides, and she wants me to get it back for her.”
“The Namekians stole a divine relic from a god?” you ask, genuinely surprised. They all seemed like pacifists, except for the warriors Piccolo and Nail. You never would have thought them capable of doing such a thing.
“No no, I'm leaving before you ever get to that planet.” she replies, and you feel your heart sink into your toes as she continues. “Before you all go to Namek, Freeza is visiting another planet first. Where his-”

“ABSOLU-!!” you'd started shouting, Chris slapping her hand over your mouth to silence your sudden outburst. But there's no way in hell you're going along with that, not even enough to hear out that sentence.
“SHHH! Keep it down!” she scolds in a whisper, but you're not having it. And instead of trying to talk, you instead use your recently-acquired telepathy to continue 'talking' to her without opening your mouth.
“No way. Absolutely not. There is no way in hell I'm going to steal something from King Cold!” you inform her, calmly and rationally and totally not freaking out at the thought. “I will NOT do anything to antagonize him, under any circumstances! I want to live a long, happy life, not one of absolute suffering and torture. Count me out, you'll have to find someone else.”
“But Eris told me that you had already agreed to help out.” Chris pouts, grabbing you by the upper arms and pulling herself close to you. “C'mon, you're the only one out here I can rely on. Don't tell me you're not going to help a damsel in distress?”

“As an advocate of true gender equality, I don't believe in helping anyone out because of their gender.” you declare to her. “I have no patience for one who talks about female privilege when it suits them, and then complains about someone “not being a man” when it's convenient! I'm not going to put my life on the line just because you're a woman and ask me to.”

However, despite your declaration, your heart tries rebelling against your rational judgment, trying to throw you into danger once more. But you hold strong, and don't give in to her puppy dog eyes.

“I'm not asking you to fight him, just help me recover the divine artifict and send it up to the heavenly realm.” she pleads, clinging to you by the front of your cloak. “I need your help Kazuma, I can't do it alone!”
“Eris can come down and talk with King Cold herself, if it's that important.” you say, Chris's face taking on a pained expression. No doubt from you speaking ill of the goddess she worships. But as she clings to you, you sigh out, and concede a small amount. You're not cruel enough to abandon her to Freeza's “mercy”, after all. “Look, you can stay with us. But I'm not getting involved. I'm sure Darkness wouldn't mind sharing her bed here wi-”

“Thank you!” Eris shouts, leaping up and wrapping her arms around your shoulders to give you a big hug. “Thank you so much Kazuma! I knew I could rely on you!”
“Hey now, I'm not agreeing to help you.” you tell Chris seriously, trying to pry her arms off you despite her hug feeling very welcome. “I'm just agreeing to help you get there, and not get thrown out of the airlock or Death Beam'd or anything. Now c'mon, let's get out of here. Hide in my shadow with Lurk, so no one notices you and we don't have to answer any awkward questions. Got it?”

She doesn't say anything, and quickly fades away into your shadow. You then open the door, stepping out into the hallway. And as you do, you freeze: Emperor Freeza's right there!

“Interesting.” Freeza says, grinning maliciously at you. “Now, how about you tell me where that fifth member of your group you were just speaking with went?”

Well, shit. You're going to have a hell of a time talking your way out of this one.

>they think they can steal from THE King Cold
GD, where did you learn to write something this funny?
>>
>>5300717
Kazuma does NOT think they can, nor does he want to do that. But Chris thinks that she can do it
>>
>>5300721
I think Kazuma needs to explain very clearly exactly who King Cold and Frieza are and what they can do.
He should also probably mention that they rival the Gods themselves in terms of pure might.
>>
>>5300721
Why has no one considered just asking him to give it back? That at least has a measurable chance of success.
>>
>>5300727
>"King Cold, please relinquish one of the most powerful artifacts in the mortal realm to the incompetent Gods so they can lose it again."
>>
>>5300726
Oh, Chris knows. More than you'd think someone from that planet has any right to.
>>5300727
A good question. But would it be something he'd give up?
>>
>>5300760
>Oh, Chris knows. More than you'd think someone from that planet has any right to.
So she's retarded then, got it.
>>
>>5300753
Right? Even if he knew it was a divine artifact, would he really give it up?
>>5300764
Ha! Well, according to her she has her goddess’s blessing for this mission. So she wouldn’t just get sent to die by the Goddess of Luck, would she?
>>
>>5300782
>Ha! Well, according to her she has her goddess’s blessing for this mission
I...is she fucking stupid? Jokes aside, that means NOTHING. Please tell me she's not this dumb.
>So she wouldn’t just get sent to die by the Goddess of Luck, would she?
I hope she realizes that it wouldn't much matter to a God if a mortal lived or died.
>>
>>5300783
Let’s just say she has a reason to be confident. Eris has long entrusted her to recover divine artifacts on her own world, and hasn’t failed once. But Chris’s death would matter a LOT to Eris. She’s invested a lot in her, including that dagger she wields
>>
>>5300753
>>5300760
The chance might be 0.00000000001% but at least it's a chance.
>>
>>5300871
A better chance than trying to fight him, that's for sure.
>>
>>5300819
I hope Eris has another lackey ready to go, because I really can't see her or Kazuma getting a leg up on King Cold of all people.
Doubly so when Frieza is around as well.

That is fucking goofy. What the hell. Who the fuck signed off on either of those? I guess being a "Super Namkeian" wasn't on the nose enough for these hack job fucks. And that hair. It has more mass than his fucking torso. If he wasn't a fucking alien who could bench press planets I'd wonder how his bobble-ass head stays upright. And don't get me started on the curly q just plain getting fat. The fuck can he even see in front of his face with it? Not like hair is floppy enough to get out the way when they do that super pooper scooper shit. Their hair gets harder than my dick after three of the little blue pills. That shit ain't the look.

Finally opened that pic so I could join in the critique. Honestly, I like the form for Piccolo. Remembering that Warrior-clan Namekians can control their size, having him go swole like Roshi makes a bit of sense. But that Gohan. Orange Piccolo looks mostly fine. The Cgi makes it look goofier than it actually is. Most 2d animations will probably have him be Nappa or Broly sized in both height and muscular and then opt for a slim and sleek version for his True Orange Piccolo form. Final Gohan share's a similar problem due to the CGI but honestly, I feel its very existence goes against what the Ultimate Form is supposed to do.

How can you be able to surpass the form that lets out ALL of your latent ability and pushed your full potential and prowess beyond your natural limits? It's like they took the concept from GT of Ultimate Super Saiyan and cranked it up to 1000 for the Teen Gohan SS2 nostalgia.

Either way, they're now on Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken/Blue Evolution tier at least.
>>
>>5303059
>>5303100
The size and shape don't bug me, the color does. Frieza was bad enough, but at least he made a point of saying it was a conscious decision because he's a pretty egocentric bitch. The fuck's the green bean doing turning into a pumpkin?

I'd have rather seen that albino namekian meme bullshit become canon than another nigga going gold.
>>
>>5303147
For me its how they turned the Gohan Blanco shitpost into a real thing. I refuse to believe they didn't start taking notes when that spic meme blew up.
>>
>>5303062
Classic.
>>5303066
Glad you enjoyed it. And yes, Amaya’s a clever fighter.
>>5303100
Cgi loses to traditional animation in most screenshots/images, but the tradeoff is it looks smoother in motion and we don’t get any Toyotaro impossible anatomies.
>I feel its very existence goes against what the Ultimate Form is supposed to do.
Yes. Unless they explain it as an evolution of Potential Unleashed, going beyond one’s potential thanks to the divine energy imbued with Elder Kai’s technique of something, then it makes no sense.
>>5303147
Totally fair. And Freeza memeing on Super Saiyan was at least fun.
>>5303207
At least we know what the NEXT movie’ll be
>>
>>5303147
I think the yellow form was supposed to be based on photosynthesis where all that solar energy somehow turns a plant yellow cause they're brimming with it. And the Orange shading is just overloading on it since they're practically bursting with it. Course I'm bullshitting an explanation since the likelihood of them explaining it is on the same bus as Super Saiyan Rage.

Still think Gohan's is the worst since >>5303207 and the fact he looks like a school shooter on crack sums up everything wrong with modern dragon ball.

>>5303252
At worst it'll be treated as the same mutation nonsense as super saiyan rage where somehow raging hard enough lets you warp previously established forms into this new monstrosity. Now that I think about it, Ikari also fits that description.
>>
>>5303207
It all started with UI Shaggy. Now that the retards in executive positions know they can ride hypetrains from memes they'll hawk that shit like nobody's business.

>>5303369
I'm pretty sure everything that photosynthesizes is green. Why didn't they just make him fluorescent green glowing like a fed at a gayop? It's an alright headcanon, they just replaced Piccolo's water bowl with some bottles of Sunny-D.
>>
>>5303369
>Course I'm bullshitting an explanation since the likelihood of them explaining it is on the same bus as Super Saiyan Rage.
Sadly probably this. That was the best, and worst arc of Super. Started soo good but devolved into bullshit halfway through.
Trunks’ form had such potential though, it was so simple to save. Trunks absorbed a bit of divine ki, and have Goku/Vegeta recognize it as a precursor, half-baked form they both had while trying to achieve SS Blue. Such an easy layup missed.
>>5303718
>executive positions know they can ride hypetrains from memes they'll hawk that shit like nobody's business.

>"Gohan what's this orange crap in this bottle?"
>"Oh it's like orange juice but more vegan. You should try it, it's good for you."
And then he drank all the Sunny-D and Gohan had to resort to drinking energy drinks. That's how Piccolo got orange and Gohan returned to edge. Just call him Kylehan

Honestly, if they gave a shit they could solve both SS Rage and Final Gohan as forms brought upon by divine ki mixing with their respective transformations+their hybrid rage. Both of them are practically supreme kai apprentices so it's not out of the left field. Just look at Rose. That's an alteration on blue or mutation of ss depending on the medium based on circumstance. Hell, you can also justify orange piccolo with the same lore. He has Kami who has definitely in him and got boosted by Shenron. This series is so frustrating at how much they don't give a shit.
>>
>>5303975

Modern media is a fucking meme.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 176 Intermission II-

AGE 750, CRIMSON DEMON VILLAGE

“Excuse me, miss. Do you know where I can find the golden warrior? The one rumored to be from another world, and said to live amongst your clan?” you hear from behind, stopping in your tracks. Glancing over your shoulder, you see one of Megumin's former classmates talking with a small entourage, or rather, the leader of the small group. Dressed in expensive-looking formal wear, the blonde haired blue eyed man gives off the air of nobility. And judging by the seven people in his group, he most likely is some sort of leader from a nearby city. He has two knights, their plate armor and swords at their hips clear indicators of their profession, but more surprisingly you recognize someone with him. The owner of the magic shop Vanir works at, the archwizard and necromancer Wiz. What is she doing here?

You are Chilli: Reaper, archwizard, husband, Super Saiyan, and protector of the Crimson Demon Village. You're back in town, looking to buy as many of the spell containers you can, having spent the better part of the evening yesterday filling those you had with your crystal magic. The defensive crystal spells are a huge hit at Wiz's shop, located in the town of beginner adventurers, Axel. So you'd come to town with your wife, here to buy as many as you could to sell to the masked demon. You'd seen the foreigners when walking into town, having chosen to walk with your wife and enjoy a leisurely stroll instead of simply flying down, but hadn't given them much thought. But upon overhearing yourself mentioned, you're suddenly far more curious in them.

“You heard that too?” Megumin asks, you turning to see her expression is mixed. Clearly she wants to go show you off, and brag a bit to her still-single classmate, but is also a bit nervous. She can tell he's someone of import on this world, and potentially going to war with a major world power would ruin the rest of your day. Or even a whole week, depending on their influence. “Want to go say hi, or just keep going?”
“I suppose we should introduce ourselves.” you say, and with your right hand holding Megumin's left raise it over her head and twirl her around, your wife giggling a bit before you both face the group and start walking over. As you draw close, Nerimaki glances your way before trailing off, the man turning and looking towards you both curiously.

“Excuse me, would either of you happen to know where the otherworldly warrior happens to be?” the man asks, clearly not recognizing you in your Crimson Demon robes instead of your Saiyan armor.
“My name is Megumin!” your wife declares, striking her pose. Even from the side, you can see her eyes glowing crimson as she introduces herself in the traditional way of her people. “Wielder of Explosion magic, wife to the great Chilli, and greatest archwizard among the Crimson Demons!”
“My name is Chilli!” you declare, striking your pose alongside her. “Super Saiyan, husband to Megumin, greatest archwizard among the Saiyan race, and he who will one day supplant the goddess of time herself! I am the warrior from another world you seek.”

“You're the warrior who defeated not only a Demon King's general, but also destroyed the monstrous Destroyer?” he asks, seeming a bit incredulous. “I had heard that you were on the younger side, but I hadn't expected you to be younger than my own daughter.”
“Age isn't that relevant in our species, except for the amount of time you've had to fight and grow stronger.” you answer his surprised remark, Wiz suddenly stepping forward.
“Oh, hello there Chillli. How're the Crystal Barriers coming along?” she asks you, oblivious to the nobleman's jaw dropping beside her. “I don't want Vanir to be upset, and lock me back in that closet again.”
“That's why we came to town today, I ran out of spelled jars.” you say, Wiz nodding along as the nobleman regains his composure. “What about you?”
“Oh, mister Ignis here asked me to bring him here, in search of an otherworldly warrior.” she says, giggling to herself a bit before continuing. “But I guess that was you, huh?”

“Chilli, was it?” Ignis asks, you turning your focus back to him and nodding. “My name is Ignis Dustiness Ford, Lord of Axel. And you, Chilli, have been s-invited to meet with her highness. Princess of the Kingdom of Belzerg, Iris. She wishes to make your acquaintance, and hear the tales of your exploits directly. You and your wife, of course, are both invited to dinner at my manor this evening.”
“I wouldn't mind.” you answer, turning to your wife. “Want to go?”
“I've never dined with royalty.” she replies, which is your answer. Then she asks you a question of her own. “Want to finish your spells for the jars before we go, or....?”
“That would depend on our host?” you ask, turning back to the nobleman. “How long from now until the dinner begins?”

"Oh, we still have several hours.” he says, looking up at the sun and gauging it. “At least three hours from now.”
“Excellent, I can get this next batch done before then, and deliver them before meeting you all at your place.” you reply, then turn to Wiz. “If you wouldn't mind taking me along when you teleport them back, so I can see where I'm going?”
“Of course, that's no problem at all.” the ditzy shopkeep says, a violet magical circle appearing on the ground beneath her, and spreading out to encompass you all. “Let's go.”
“I'll wait here for you to get back.” Megumin says, giving you a quick kiss before stepping back. “Meet you at the shop?”
“See you there.” you reply, waving as the lich's teleport spell whisks you all away. One moment you're standing in the Crimson Demon Village, the next you find yourself before a familiar shop.

“And here we are.” Wiz says, her magical circle disappearing. “Thank you for your patronage.”
“The pleasure was all mine.” Ignis says, giving her a small bow. “Give my regards to Vanir.”
“I will, thank you again.” she says, waving to you before turning to the door and walking in. Ignis turns to you, and you give a slight nod. He returns the gesture and leads his entourage, you walking along in silence for a few minutes before he stops before a wall taller than your old man. You see the brick wall is topped with an iron fence, poles topped with spikes.
“This is the Dustiness manor.” he says, stopping before the gate. “Do you think you can find your way back here this evening?”

“Give me a minute.” you reply, crouching then leaping up into the air. You fly up over the manor, looking down at the manor and studying where it rests in regards to the rest of the city's major landmarks. And once you're sure you can find it again, you drop back down out of the air, landing beside the startled nobleman and his retainers. “I'll be able to find your place again later this evening.”
“I see. Very well, we shall await your arrival.” the man Ignis says, nodding once more before turning to the gate. You kick back off into the sky, and focusing on your wife's ki blast away from the town of Axel. It takes you maybe a minute to return to the Crimson Demon village, dropping out of the sky to land gently before your father in law's magic item shop. Rising back up to your full height you reach for the door, but before you can touch it the door opens. Hyoizaburoo is holding it open for Megumin, your wife holding three cases of the spelled bottles.

“Oh, Chilli!” she says excitedly, eyes widening as she smiles at your sudden appearance. “You're back sooner than I thought! I was gonna surprise you by having them already at the house for you, but you got here too soon. Ruined my whole plan. Mleeh!”

She sticks her tongue out at you teasingly with a sparkle in her eye.

“Haha, thanks hun.” you say, kissing her on the forehead while gently taking the cases from her hands. “I'll carry them home.”
“I heard you two are going to be visiting with the princess herself.” her father says, you looking to him as Megumin steps outside with you. “Be careful, and mind your manners Megumin.”
“I will.” she says, you shifting the containers to hold them in one arm, and take your wife's hand in the other as you both begin the walk back home. You enjoy the peaceful walk, the two of you going in companionable silence before getting back to your home. Pressing her crystal wedding ring to the door, your crystal home opens up and allows the both of you inside.

“Thanks hun.” you say, Megumin closing the double doors and portcullis behind you. “I'm gonna get to work right away, need anything?”
“Nope, I'm gonna go get ready.” she says, humming her 'Explosion' song to herself as she heads to the stairs before you. “Speaking of, are you gonna wear your robes? Or your armor?”
“I think I should wear my armor for this one.” you say after a moment's thought. “They're expecting to meet an off-worlder, so I suppose I should look the part.”
“I agree.” she replies, smirking a bit as you can tell she's planning something. But despite being together for as long as you have, you have no idea what she's planning. “Go on, go and finish your spells for Vanir while I start getting ready.”

She then almost skips up the stairs, you following behind her with your boxes of glass bottles to fill. You head up past the bedroom into your workshop, placing the boxes on the desk then taking your robe off. With a thought you grow a crystal hook out of the wall, hanging it there beside the desk then cracking your fingers.

“Alright, time to get to work.” you say to yourself, and reaching into the top box draw out the first glass jar of dozens. With another thought, you grow a small pillar up out of the floor, and rest the jar atop it. You then pull the cork out with your left hand, placing your left atop the container while focusing your magic power. “Crystal Magic: Crystal Barrier!”

You feel the magical energy surge out through your open hand, But instead of forming the dome of crystal magic around you, the energy surges down into the container. You see the magical energy swirling around inside the glass like a small snowstorm, you capping it with the enchanted cork seal and sealing the magic away inside it. Picking up the freshly-made Crystal Barrier Bottle, you take it back over to the box and replace it. Setting the sealed spell jar back inside, you then take the next one and turn back to your small pedestal, and repeat the process.

Your magic fills up bottle after bottle, and by the third you've gotten completely lost in the work. You lose yourself in the mindless spellcraft, wondering what sort of person the princess will be. Then before you've realized it, your work is done. You set the final bottle into place, then reaching for the next one realize that you've already filled every single one. The mindless work is finished, now you can go get ready for the dinner. Taking up the now-filled boxes, you turn to the stairs and carry them back down to the first floor. Stepping down into the room, you see your wife already in the bath and decide to join her. Setting the bottles down by the door, you begin stripping down and walking over to the tub. Your wife sees you coming and blushes, eyes glowing crimson as she watches you undress.

“Come on in, the water's still warm.” she says with a grin, making room for you to get in as well. You climb in, your wife turning around and offering you the bar she'd been cleaning with. “Mind scrubbing my back for me?”
“Of course Megu.” you reply, taking it from her and begin gently washing her back. You're extremely careful with your wife, scrubbing her back then reaching around to wash her front as well.
“Mmmm.” she mummers as you caress her, leaning back and pressing herself against you while reaching up and wrapping her arms around your neck. You wash her all over, then once you're done washing her she takes over, and starts washing you as well. She scrubs every inch of you, then once she's done you wash yourselves off, and get out of the tub. Your wife wraps her towel around herself, but since you hadn't brought one down you just flare your aura, blasting the water off of you, and her as well. “Ah-! H-Hey! Don't get my towel wet!”

You chuckle at your wife's playful teasing, then give her a quick kiss before sweeping her off of her feet. Then you carry her upstairs to your bedroom, only to see a surprise waiting for you. Your armor has been dusted off and even seemingly shined, set out and ready for you to wear. Turning to her, you see Megumin smiling at your reaction to her surprise.

“You're a foreign ambassador, right? That means you gotta look good.” she says with a smile. “Now get dressed, and don't look over here until I'm dressed, okay? I got a surprise.”
“Sure thing.” you reply, and begin dressing. It's been months since you've regularly worn your armor, and it actually feels a little strange. You've grown quite used to how the Crimson Demon-style robes flow and breathe, but something about donning your armor once more makes you feel ready.
“Okay, turn around.” she says as you finish putting on your last gauntlet, turning around and feeling your heart skip a beat at the sight. “Well, what do you think?”

Your wife is wearing a black dress with a white trim you've never seen before, it showing off her beautiful pale skin and complementing her figure nicely. She twirls around once, watching it flow around her, then she looks up at you and asks something. But you don't hear her, enraptured by her.

“Hey, you awake up there?” she asks, snapping you out of your daze as your eyes rise up and meet her gaze. Only to see an odd smile on her face. “Do you like it that much?”
“It looks amazing on you.” you say, walking over and giving your wife a hug. Which she gladly reciprocates, wrapping her arms around your neck and giving you a deep, passionate kiss before pulling back. When she does you can see that her eyes are blazing crimson, and her cheeks are flushed just from that. “You make it look great.”
“Flatterer.” she teases, the two of you separating so you can continue getting ready. Megumin takes up her staff, and you grab your own before sweeping her up off her feet, and carrying your wife down the stairs to the front door where you'd left the jars before setting her back down. To which she pouts a bit, teasing you a bit more. “Oh I see. You'd rather carry some jars than your beautiful wife.”

“Once we sell these to Vanir, I can carry you all the way to that guy's manor if you want.” you retort, Megumin blushing even more as you tease her back. And you can see on her face as she considers taking you up on the offer. “You ready to go?”
“Whenever you are.” she replies, laying her left hand atop your right as you focus. You'd made a crystal in the back of Wiz's shop a while back to teleport to, and focusing your magic create a crystal shell around both you and Megumin while linking to that 'gate' you'd made. Then in a flash, the crystal shatters, and you find yourself standing before a rather surprised-seeming demon.

“Well well, if it isn't the Crimson Demon woman who wishes for more physical affection, and the alien powerhouse who's only recently begun awakening to his carnal desires. Welcome, welcome!” Vanir greets you both, trying to tease out your emotions with his digs. Because as an archdevil, Vanir feeds off of specific emotions of mortals. So you don't give him the satisfaction of a reaction, and instead present the cases of Crystal Barrier bottles.
“Have another batch ready, you said you were running low.” you say, the devil picking one out and examining it. And after a moment he returns the jar to the container, a smile on his face.

“As usual, exceptional work.” Vanir says, taking the cases in one hand and setting them all down on a table before handing over two pouches, as per your arrangement. In one is the payment in gold coins, this world's currency. And in the other are Manatite: ores which contain magical power and can be used in place of one's own energy supply. You'd found great utility in using the stones, allowing you to practice spells for far longer in a day than you could with only your own magic. “Your payment.”
“Thanks. Let me know when you need another batch.” you tell him, walking towards the door leading out to the front of the shop. “I'll be able to make them within a day of your next order.”

Leaving the shop, you turn to Megumin, who only blushes a bit and shakes her head. Guess she doesn't want carried to the manor after all. So the two of you walk down the streets, hand in hand until coming to the main gate of that man Ignis's home. You see two guards, armed and armored similarly to the two who were with him before, and the one seemingly recognizes you. But then as he calls out, you see he recognizes your wife instead.

“Absolutely not. You're not letting off a blast here, 'Crazy Explosion Girl'!” he declares, lowering his halberd at your wife. So you let go of her hand, walk up to the guard, and grab his weapon by the bladed tip. Then, without breaking eye contact with the man, you start bending the weapon's point back towards him. You can see the panic on his face as you don't say anything, just bending his halberd's point until it's pointed back at him before letting go of the weapon. Then, as he pulls it back, you finally speak.
“We're here to have an audience with the Princess, and Lord Ignis.” you declare, still glaring at him unblinkingly. “Now open the door. Or will your lord have to replace you?”
“R-R-Right away s-sir!” he stammers, tripping over his words as he turns back to the gate. His partner chuckles, and you recognize him as one of the ones who were with Ignis when he'd arrived at the Crimson Demon Village. Seems he hadn't told his partner on purpose, just to see what happened. As the gate opens, you see the attendants who were with the local lord are already waiting on you all, each one bowing shallowly to you both.

“Master Ignis is already with Princess Iris. This way, if you would.” one says, the woman only a few years older than you says, leading the way into the manor proper. And to your surprise, it's not what you were expecting. The interior seems rather utilitarian, not many flashy paintings or expensive decorations, in fact everything you pass seems to have been placed there for a purpose, or at least are small things out of the way. Seems this Ignis fellow doesn't like to spend his money on frivolities, which makes you like him even more.

“Here we are. The master and the princess are in the dining hall, through here.” the woman declares, and grabbing both door handles starts pushing them open. The doors swing inwards, revealing a dining room twice the size of your own, and with a table to match as well. To the head of the table's right you see the man Ignis, a small plate of food in front of him as he speaks with the one sitting in what would undoubtedly be his seat otherwise. A young girl, probably within a year or two of your own age wearing a white dress is seated, delicately holding her utensils to her plate while listening to the man's story, speaking of his daughter's physical prowess. To the left and right of whom you assume to be the princess are her attendants, a short-haired woman in a white suit with a sword on her hip, and a woman wearing long white robes wearing several magic-resonating rings on her fingers. The sword woman's physical power is impressive for this world, a scouter would read her as at least four digits. And from the no-doubt mage to her right, you can sense a surprisingly deep well of magical power. But most surprising of all, the young-seeming princess outclasses both of them in BOTH categories!

“Princess Iris, Lord Ignis. Chilli, son of Karn and Megumin of the Crimson Demons have arrived.” the attendant declares with a full bow, their conversation having stopped as the three of you entered the room. And to your surprise, the young princess rises up to her feet, and gestures to the seats to her left.
“Thank you both for honoring my request.” she says, voice more gentle and soft than you'd expected. Almost as if she's afraid raising her voice could destroy the whole room. Then, to her attendants' and Ignis's surprise, she grabs onto her dress and gives you a proper noble curtsy. As she rises you bring your left hand up to your chest in a proper Saiyan salute, then bow to her in response. Just like you've seen other Saiyans bowing to King Vegeta. She's no Saiyan, but she is royalty. As you rise she smiles, and gestures to the seats beside her. “Please, if you would join us.”

“Of course, thank you.” Megumin says, the two of you walking over and taking your seats to the princess's left. Both the warrior and mage don't take their eyes off of you, no doubt sensing that you're dangerous, but it almost puts a smile to your face. Not like there's anything they could do against you anyways. “And thanks for the meal. We'll have to have you up to our place sometime, to return the favor. Explosion-fried dragon meat is delicious.”
“E-Explosion-fried?!” both the princess's aids and Ignis all shout in surprised shock, while you see the princess's eyes sparkling.

“It's great. We have a whole freezer full, since the dragons have started attacking the Crimson Demon Village.” you explain, the warrior's eyes narrowing at you. “They've been attacking more and more lately, ever since our wedding.”
“Ever since your dad got that first one, yeah.” Megumin agrees, nodding along. “I don't know why they've become so much more aggressive lately, dragons usually stay away from our village.”
“You fight dragons?” Iris asks, you nodding to her. “That's so cool! I want to fight a dragon as well, but my bodyguard Claire here won't let me. She says it's too dangerous to engage such powerful creatures directly, but my older brother Jatis has gotten to fight one.”

“I told you, your highness, that dragons are dangerous foes not to be underestimated.” Claire says, looking exasperated. “Even one such as you, with the divine sword Calibur at your side, would still be in danger.”
“If you want, your highness, I could escort you on such a mission.” you reply, the woman glaring daggers at you as you speak. “A single dragon's not a threat for me.”
“You think rather highly of yourself, don't you?” the suited woman says, right hand going to her sword's hilt.
“Claire, stop.” Princess Iris says, a hard edge to her quiet, gentle voice as she turns and glares at the woman. Who seemingly melts under the glare, looking away from the young princess. “Sorry about her, she's very protective.”

“That's alright, she kinda reminds me of my mother.” you say, Claire blushing at this and looking away even harder. You notice the mage beside her stifling a giggle, the knightess's ears turning red as well. “But I am curious why you invited me here. I'm sure there is a reason you wished to speak with me.”
“Right to business, then? Very well.” the princess says, nodding shallowly to you. “I have heard many tales of your exploits, half of which seem too fantastical to be true. But if you truly destroy dragons regularly, they might all be real. So I was hoping to hear tales of your adventures firsthand.”
“Very well. I can tell you all sorts of stories.” you say, then an idea comes to mind. “How about we do it like this? Why don't you say a rumor you've heard, and we can tell you the truth of it?”
“That sounds like fun!” the princess says with a beaming smile, leaning forward a bit. “What happened to the Destroyer? I heard you both were the ones who destroyed it, is that true?”

“Yes, we took it apart.” you say, nudging Megumin to present her staff you'd made her. “And my wife now has the power from it's core here into the staff I made her.”
“Woah!” she says, looking at you both like your younger siblings sometimes do. And as you recall the tale, sharing your experiences with the princess, you begin to appreciate just how far you've come. And how much further you still have to go.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

After joining up with the Rak'kari forces, Karn and their champion led the charge side-by-side against the Abyssal creatures. Fighting several dark monstrosities, and Caulifla joining Karn after he refilled his suit's air, the Abyss then sent a force of several hundred thousand of the frog-like Hydae at them. Karn and Caulifla stood against the horde, drawing them into an ambush by the Rak'kari that obliterated over twenty thousand before they summoned another Abyssal abomination by sacrificing several of their own. But as we rejoin Karn, their abomination isn't faring too well. Having tried swallowing Caulifla whole, her Stand Triumph's flames began disintegrating the unholy abomination.

“Cauli!” you think to her, and having split your body into four with the Multiform technique, use your left-most body to Instant Transmission to her, grabbing your daughter and teleporting her back by your sides as the Rak'kari magic passes through where she'd just been to pummel the monstrous, burning beast. “You okay?”
“I'm fine.” she replies, dousing herself in her Stand's flames to 'wash' the slime off of herself. The water boils around her, but with her Stand's powers remains completely unphased by fire or heat. “That was gross though.”

You then feel another surge of something dark and ominous within the swarm of Hydae, except this time not from above. No, this time the mass of energy is gathering directly opposite your sword-wielding Multiform body. And this time it's power is even more massive than the hydra your daughter just incinerated from within.

What do you do?
>Use your Wolf Knight Sword's power and cut it down from a distance before it can even finish forming
>Instead of a slash, focus your ancient blade's power into an almighty thrust to punch through the horde and whatever monstrosity they're creating
>Keep slashing the regular Hydae with the sword's magic, but fire a Final Flash into the massive powerlevel with one body while the other two keep up the Scattershots
>Recombine your bodies back into one, and focus your full power into the sword for wide, devastating slashes into the Hydae horde
>Have Caulifla transform her Stand, and focus on protecting her while it's powerful beam obliterates as many Hydae as she can

“Uhh, Daddy? What's that?” she asks, no doubt sensing the monster forming.
“Focus back on keeping the swarm back!” you tell her, drawing your sword back and again focusing your ki into the enchanted blade. “I'll handle the big ones with this. HAAAAAAA!!”

With a roar you swing, firing a slashing blade of magical energy towards the rapidly-swelling ki signature. Your attack cuts through several of the Rak'kari attacks, their magic not able to even slow your slash as it flies towards the forming creature. But one slash probably isn't enough to kill a creature of that level, you drawing it back parallel to the ground on your right side as you focus ki into the sword and firing another magical blade. You slash again and again, unleashing a half dozen magical attacks total before your first has even cleared the Rak'kari position. Your first attack then slams into the Hydae swarm, cutting through dozens of Hydae before slashing into that massive ki. But before it can move out of the way, or do anything to protect itself, the rest of the magical attacks slice through the monstrosity. It never even screams, your attacks carving it into pieces. The monster's ki vanishes, your attacks having erased it.

Meanwhile, your other three bodies continue firing Scattershots into the Hydae horde, keeping them from overwhelming your sword body and allowing it to keep targeting the merging abominations. You sense more and more beasts being formed inside the horde, this time three separate beings being forged. One is being made above and to your left, a second one directly above the Rak'kari, and a third to the right, far back inside the horde. With all three being made simultaneously, you have to pick your target. So focusing on your ki sense, the leftmost one's ki is rising the fastest. So you turn towards it, blade in hand, and unleash a pair of slashes forming an 'X' at the forming abomination. Your attacks fly true, ending the abomination before it can be fully formed. However, both of the others have more than quadrupled their powerlevels, no doubt each is almost fully formed now. If not already complete.

GWROOOOOOOAAAAA!!” comes a mighty bellow, then from the Hydae directly across the Rak'kari emerges a monstrous wurm! The colossal beast surges directly towards you through the horde, swimming directly at you over the magical barrage from below. In fact this particular beast doesn't even seem to notice the magical attacks, charging directly at you. Which is the last mistake it'll ever make.

“HRAAAAAAA!!” you roar, and swinging your sword down in a powerful overhead slash to unleash another magical Death Slash from your blade. The azure edge slashes through the monster's body cleanly, and with it's serpentine swimming motion your attack cuts it not into two distinct halves, but several pieces. Eash slashed edge burnes with azure fire for a moment, the remains of the Abyssal horror disintegrating as it falls towards your hard-shelled allies below. But then you hear it, a sound unlike anything you've ever heard before.

KREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Turning towards the furthest ki, you sense it has grown incredibly powerful. Far more so than anything you've sensed beneath the waves yet, radiating with a sickly wrongness that reverberates through New Salda's awareness. Then several large, green bladed appendages lunge out from the mass of Hydae, stabbing down into the Rak'kari formation and killing more than a dozen of them immediately. Then the beast pulls itself out of the mass of lesser beings, and you can't quite understand what you're looking at. It's a writing mass of tentacles, it's gaping maw large enough to devour your ship sideways. But what you do know is this monstrosity has to die.

But how?
>Keep up the magical slashes, and cut this monster to bits
>Focus even more energy than usual into the blade, and unleash a powerful magical thrust directly at it's....Center?
>Merge two of your bodies back together to double the power of your attacks, then cut down the monster with a single, powerful slash

“I don't think my sword will be enough for this.” you think to yourself, tossing the ancient sword to the you fighting alongside Caulifla to keep the Hydae at bay then draw out your ki. “HAAAA!!

Emerald ki blazes around you, as you focus it into your right hand as you draw it back. Your ki forms into the shape of a javelin, then with all your might you pitch it forward. Your attack flies through the sea directly towards the abomination's center mass, but the creature raises one of it's sharp, bladed tentacles up to intercept your attack. Your lance of power pierces into it, then after a couple seconds it explodes.

KREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! the beast roars as your lance explodes, severing the appendage in a spray of dark blood. All of its tentacles writhe in pain as the monster thrashes, giving you enough time to gather enough energy for a second attack, then a third, fourth, and a fifth. Which you then fire forth, unleash more lances that all strike the beast's tentacles, severing them in explosive blasts. But as you draw your energy back a sixth time, the beast suddenly opens it's mouth wide and unleashes a titanic blast of dark energy directly down at you all!
“Dammit!” you snarl, focusing even more ki into your attack and transforming it into a Super Energy Javelin. “HAAA!!”

Launching your powerful attack, your javelin flies true. But as it strikes the mass of darkness, your lance is absorbed into that darkness.

“Wait, what?” you say, shocked as your ki simply vanishes. “N-No way!”
“Daddy, what do we do?!” Caulifla shouts, no doubt seeing that massive dark mass rapidly approaching. If that dark mass absorbs a small amount of ki like that, you'll have to overwhelm it!
“Keep the Hydae back, I'll handle this!” you roar, throwing your arms wide and quickly gathering enough ki for one of your stronger attacks. Slamming the two orbs of ki together, the ki mixing and merging into one overwhelming attack, you unleash it with a roar of, “FINAL FLASH!!”

Your ki explodes out from your palms in an unstoppable golden wave, leaving you certain that it'll overpower this Abyssal darkness. Your attack obliterates the small magical shots the Rak'kari were firing up into the Hydae, your titanic beam surging directly at the dark mass. But right as your beam strikes that Dark mass, you can immediately feel that something's wrong.

The moment your golden energy crashes into that dark mass, you can sense it simply vanishing. Your attack doesn't overwhelm the dark mass, or start pushing it back. Hell, it doesn't even slow that Abyssal magic down, the darkness continuing to creep forward unabated.

“N-No way.” you say, shocked as the attack continues to absorb the energy from your own. You keep up the pressure, but the approaching darkness seems completely unaffected. The dark mass soars over the Hydae, rapidly closing in on all four of your bodies and your daughter as well. If you don't do something, and soon, you all are going to be hit with that void! But right as the dark orb is almost halfway across the Hydae, you end your beam to try something else. But before you can, the Rak'kari champion attacks. A beam of familiar azure energy explodes up from the crab man, it piercing into and through the Abyssal attack. “Woah!”

His attack destroys the orb's integrity, the mass splitting apart into hundreds of smaller orbs before they all dissolve into nothingness. You feel your jaw drop a bit at the display, then quickly regain your focus. He's given you an opening, you'd better take advantage of it!

“Alright, my turn!” you snarl, again creating your Super Energy Javelin. But this time you make one in each hand, launching them one right after the other directly at the Abyssal monstrosity's maw with each syllable. “EAT! THIS!!”

Your lances fly true, but the beast again brings its tentacles to bear defending its body from a direct hit. Your attacks pierce into two different tentacles, which are obliterated by the enhanced attacks' blasts. But as you pant, trying to catch your breath through the breathing apparatus while the monster's visage is obscured, you can sense you're still no closer to beating it than you were. You'll have to hit it with something serious to put this monster down. But as you think this, suddenly a trio of those enormous bladed tentacles surge towards you, all aimed at ending all of you at once!

“RRRAAAA!!” you roar, leaping forward and catching two of the massive tentacles yourself, one in each hand while diverting the third with a kick. “HAAA!”

Stopping the bladed tentacles, you're then caught off guard as they suddenly jerk back, dragging you along with them over the Rak'kari, directly towards the beast's maw. Which is surrounded by hundreds of smaller tentacles, many bladed just like the massive ones. It draws you directly towards the smaller flashing blades, no doubt intending to fill you full of holes before devouring you! But you're no one's lunch.

“HMPH!” you exhale, quickly forming your Energy Body as you refuse to let go of the two large tentacles.
“DADDY!!” Caulifla shouts in worry, your body now holding the blade grabbing her and keeping her from recklessly charging after that body. The tentacles slam you down against the Abyssal monstrosity's blades, you feeling dozens, no, hundreds of blades smashing into your ki armor all at once. Your ki holds true, preventing any of the blades from piercing into you. But that doesn't deter them, the tentacles smashing into you over and over, trying to carve you to bits. As you hold it's two large tentacles in your arms, feeling the blows raining down on all sides as it tries to rip you to shreds, you realize you're in trouble. More trouble. As within the beast's mouth, you see it is beginning to form another mass of darkness to do, well, SOMETHING to you. You aren't sure what getting absorbed into that dark mass does, but judging by your ki that simply vanished, it can't be anything good for you.

What do you do now? What CAN you do?
>Use all of that body's ki and unleash a Red Dawn, obliterating that monster completely and killing hundreds if not thousands of Hydae before merging it back into another Karn
>Have your sword-wielding body Instant Transmission directly beside your captured self, and unleash it's power directly down the beast's pit of a maw
>Explosive Wave out of the monster's grip, Instant Transmission back over to the other Karns, then have your sword-wielding body cut this monster down
>Final Flash directly down it's throat before it can fully form that attack, hopefully ending it in one blow
>Have your captured body unleash Divine Dragon Force, and pierce into the tentacles trying to impale you to end this monster with its own power

You are Karn, one such Saiyan fighter. Born on planet Vegeta, you were raised during the Saiyan-Tuffle War, one of those weaklings your very first kill. As a Saiyan, you were brought up from a young age to become a conqueror, to spread the strength of Saiyan race across the stars. As you grew up living and breathing combat, at 20 you are already a veteran of over a dozen conflicts. You are a:

>Brawler. Excells in physical attacks and melee combat, great stamina and tenacity, weak energy blasts and lesser energy reserves. Hard time learning new energy attacks, easier time training raw power and hand-to-hand technique.

>Blaster. Stronger energy attacks and superior ranged fighting, weaker hand-to-hand fighting and durability. Fastest learning of energy-based attacks, harder time training up raw power and martial technique.

>Warrior. Fine balance between physical and energy fighting. Doesn't excell in any category but is the most balanced and well-rounded class

"Enough of this." you snarl, releasing one of the giant tentacles and drawing your right fist back. "Divine Dragon Force!"
"GROOOOAAAAAR!!" your Stand bellows as it materializes. As it forms you swing towards the blade still held in your left hand. Your Stand charges through, smashing into the blade and piercing directly through it. Your Stand breaks through the other side, and with a flash of its eyes the entire appendages begins to simply disintegrate. The monstrosity roars out in pain, and as you look over see the oddest sight: it isn't vanishing as well. Or, rather, ALL of it isn't vanishing. Bits and pieces of the abomination are turning to what looks like misty black water, but the entire beast itself doesn't simply die. Instead, in a flash of insight understand what's happening. This isn't ONE being. Just like when you fought that fused Time Patroller who'd nearly killed you, when you'd hit him with Divine Dragon Force his fusion had been destroyed. But it didn't kill the two Saiyans who'd made it up.

Indeed, as you watch the massive monstrosity begins breaking apart, the black fluid consuming it. But to your ki senses, bolstered by New Salda, you get a clearer picture. Fifteen different Hydae, as well as a couple dozen of those tiny Krakens are re-formed from that Abyssal magic, and the last traces of that titanic monster as well as its darkness disappear without a trace. But that doesn't mean the battle is over, far from it. As now you're surrounded by the Hydae!

“RwlRwlRwlRwlRwlRwlRwlRwlRwl!” they cry, their odd, undulating croaking signaling their attack. And almost before you can react they bury you in a swarm of bodies. As if trying to crush you through sheer weight and pressure, the hundreds of bodies slam into you from all sides, and you feel their primative weapons smashing against you Energy Body. But your technique is stronger than their weapons, deflecting the dozens of blows a second from their blades.
“GRRROOOOOAAAAAAAR!!” your Stand bellows furiously, charging into the mass of bodies without hesitation. You can sense the ones your Stand impale immediately begin dying, their ki turned against their bodies the instant Divine Dragon Force pierces into them. But for every half-dozen your Stand destroys, a hundred take their place. This body is effectively pinned down.

“Dammit.” all four Karn snarl at once, you taking one of your bodies off of Scattershot duty on the side with two and begin gathering your ki. Drawing both arms out, then slamming the ki together, you fire another Final Flash. At YOURSELF!

“FINAL FLASH!!”

Unleashing a massive golden beam, your attack slams into your Energy Body. But it doesn't pierce your armor, you not charging it up anywhere near enough to damage you. However, it is more than adequate to obliterate the attacking Hydae swarm, the beam clearing you a path to escape from within the enemy forces. You don't waste any time, raising your right hand to your forehead and focus, locking onto your body that just fired the Final Flash and Instant Transmission directly to your own side.

“You're okay!” Caulifla thinks to you, her joy surging through the mental link. “I was so worried.”
“I'm fine.” you reply, your bodies holding back the Hydae not as effective anymore as the swarm creeps ever closer. “Dammit. This isn't working.”
“C'mon, we can push them back!” she exclaims, her ki surging as she draws her arms back and fires a powerful blast into the mass of Hydae. “We can win this!”

But you're beginning to doubt that. Despite the sheer volume of ki you've fired into their mass, from your link with New Salda you can tell that you haven't even reduced their numbers by a fifth yet. This isn't working, you're going to have to do something else, something dramatic to change the tide of this battle. Else you're going to tire out completely before this horde is vanquished, and forced to either retreat and abandon the Rak'kari or die by their side.

So, what do you do? What CAN you do?
>Merge your bodies back together, and channel your full power into the ancient sword to eliminate as many of them as quickly as possible
>Merge your bodies together and gather your energy for an Event Horizon, consume as many of them in one blast as physically possible
>Using all four Karn, have all four unleash their Dawn Breakers into the mass of Hydae and cut through as many of them as possible without letting any get close
>Have the two Karn with the most remaining ki instant Transmission behind the Hydae, then have one drop the biggest Super Barrier around them while the other dives into their forces and unleash everything in that body in an all-powerful Red Dawn

Remember, we need air for this. Our current reserves are currently split between 4 tanks.
Using our sword should also allow us to preserve our stamina somewhat and maybe even slightly abate the Darkness if our assault is strong enough.

"Keep them off me kiddo, I need about ten seconds." you say, as with a final burst of effort your bodies on crowd control all fire off a double Scattershot. As the orbs split into hundreds, your bodies all dash together, and you feel each of your scattered essences all merge back together. Your powers recombine, returning you back up to your fullest power. And now that your full power is back at your fingertips, it's time!

“I'll end this!” you snarl through your mask, raising the sword overhead as you begin channeling your ki into the enchanted blade. It begins blazing with azure light, radiating with pure power. And with your attack held at the ready, you swing your sword down with a ferocious roar. “HAAAAAAAA!!!”

Your sword unleashes a massive slash downwards, far more powerful than anything you've unleashed so far. The massive slashing blade cuts a wide swathe through the Hydae, leaving nothing but bloody water in it's wake as the slash cuts down thousands. And to your surprise, the attack cuts ENTIRELY through the approaching horde! You can see, for a single moment through the blood and monsters, the other side of the sea through their onslaught. And as you do, you feel your resolve redoubling. You can do this!

“Bring it on you froggy bastards!” you snarl, drawing the blade back and unleashing a wide-angled horizontal slash, followed by a reverse cut and an upward slash, continuing to fire off slash after slash until you've launched a dozen powerful slashing magical blades into their forces. With each powerful slash thousands perish, and by the third you've killed just as many as the surprise attack launched by the Rak'kari did. By the sixth you've doubled them, and as you draw back for the seventh you sense several ki merging into more abominations. But you're done seeing the horrors of the Abyss.

“HRRAAAAAAA!!” you roar, firing off a horizontal slash that cuts down four rapidly-swelling ki signatures. You fire attack after attack, aimed now at the massive ki signatures forming within the Hydae ranks. You cut them all down before they can fully form, and with your twelfth slash you feel the tide of battle has begun turning. As you take a deep breath, refocusing to unleash another onslaught against this troublesome force, you can sense them: Hydae are fleeing the battlefield! It's only a few hundred at first, but you can sense them deserting the battlefield. Not retreating back to the Abyss, but peeling off from the flanks and swimming out to sea, no doubt hoping to avoid your onslaught. “That's right, you better run.”

This is it, you're going to end this battle right here and now!

Again you channel your ki into the magical blade, and drawing it back over your right shoulder swing it forth oonce again. Your azure attack springs forth from the blade, directly into the thickest clump of Hydae. But as your blade cuts through the first hundred or so, you see something go wrong. Your blade slams into something that flashes with a deep purple light, and to your shock the slashing magical blade is sent right back at you at more than double speed! Or rather, not RIGHT back, as instead of being aimed at you, the wide, diagonally-cutting blade is aimed right at Caulifla!

“CAULI!!” you shout, lunging to your left and shoving your daughter out of the way an instant before the magical blade would have bisected her. You save her, but then you feel it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNW9lmujZxU

“DADDY!!” Caulifla cries out as the attack slashes you instead, slightly-glowing blood spraying from you.
“Gyuuh!” you cry out as your own reflected attack cuts deep into you, slashing across your biceps and pecs. But as you cry out in pain, the blood mixes with a stream of bubbles. Through your narrowed eyes as you wince, you see that the reflected slash also just cut clean through your suit's main breathing hose! You don't have any more air, and just exhaled everything you had inside you when you took that devastating attack! This is bad!

What do you do?

"Dammit. Caulifla, hide beneath Triumph and heal me." you telepathically order her, planting your feet in the sand and drawing your weapon back, point-forward towards whatever deflected your attack. "Triumph should be able to protect you, if this goes wrong. Don't come out, no matter what."
"G-Got it." she replies worriedly, her Stand materializing around her as she drops to a knee, holding her chime to her chest as she rings it. Holding your blade up perpendicular to your body, you once more begin channeling more and more ki into the blade. It begins softly glowing with azure light, but as you send more and more energy into the blade, the aura around it begins glowing brighter and brighter.

The blade begins vibrating, trembling in your hand as your channeled ki starts reaching the limits of what the blade can contain. It's now or never!

“HAAAAAA!!” you roar with the last of your air, bubbles blasting out of your suit's slashed hose as you thrust the blade up and towards the spot your attack was reflected from. All of that power explodes out from your blade, faster than even you can see as the magic obliterates everything in its path. The recoil slams into your body, your knees, elbows, and shoulders absorbing the majority of the force. You manage to remain standing despite the tremendous force, and after wincing again look up to see the aftermath. And feel your jaw drop, seeing a mostly-circular hole twice as broad across as your wingspan is just empty. No Hydae, no blood, no bodyparts; nothing. Your attack completely erased thousands of these monsters. “Heh, gotcha.”

Then you feel a surge of warm energy surging into you, looking down you see a golden magical circle on the ground around you both, centered on your daughter's kneeling form. Reaching up, you feel the slash across your broad chest has been fully healed. Her magic didn't fix your suit, unfortunately, but with your injury healed you only have one more concern: getting the suit fixed.

But what now?
>Leave the sword with Caulifla while you Instant Transmission back to the surface, have Daiko and B7 repair it as quickly as possible
>Take Caulifla with you as you teleport back to get your suit's breathing system repaired, don't leave her by herself

"My suit's been too damaged, I can't breathe anymore." you think to the Rak'kari champion. "I'll return as soon as it's finished."
"We can hold the line." he replies confidently, but you can feel the doubt seeping through the mental link. He doesn't fully trust that you'll return. But you're out of time, and don't have any to spare assuring him that you'll return. So you end the telepathic link, grab ahold of your daughter's arm with your left hand while raising your right to your forehead, and focusing on B7's ki signature teleport. Your Instant Transmission brings both you and Caulifla to the surface, standing beside B7 and Head Scientist Daiko as they sit on some of the containers they'd brought parts for your suit in.

“We have a problem.” you say, both of them jumping at your sudden arrival.
“Karn? Your tank shouldn't be empty for another....” Daiko starts, freezing when he sees the shape your suit is in. “B7, box four.”
“On it.” the Saldaman shouts, leaping up off the box he was sitting on and looking them over.
“How long will this take to fix? The battle is at a crucial point, if we lose too much momentum now it could be over.”
“Fix? Hmmm, if I were to repair all these damaged pieces it would take over a day.” Daiko declares, you feeling your heart drop. A whole day?! There's no way the Rak'kari could hold out that long. You need to get back in there, as soon as possible. But right as you're about to speak up, you see the scientist grin. “However, that's not the case. Luckily for you, I foresaw such events, and so I made spare parts for just about everything.”

As he says this he walks over, relief flooding through you as you take a knee. He disconnects the severed ends of the hose as well as the cut pieces, surprising you how modular he'd developed this suit's system. B7 walks over as he's disconnected the last part, handing a nearly identical, undamaged piece to him. While he's doing this, you turn to your daughter.

“Everything okay kiddo?” you ask, Caulifla shaking her head after a moment and turns towards you. At least you still think it's towards you, that mask she's wearing still makes you want to take a swing at it. “You alright?”
“I'm fine, fine.” she says, voice a bit muffled by the odd helm. “It's just, that's a LOT of bad guys down there. I had no idea.”
“It's only going to get worse.” you tell her seriously. “If you want to back out now, and wait here with Daiko and B7, now's your chance.”

Silence hangs over the beach as Daiko finishes up the work, it taking him only a minute to replace all of the damaged parts. B7 takes the now-emptied tank and replaces it with a full one the moment the new hose is fully attached, the two backing away from you. You take a deep breath, the odd taste of the air a good sign that everything's working. So you give them a nod of thanks, and turn fully to face your daughter. Who, after several more moments of silence, then shakes her head and rises up to her full height.

“No. I'm not giving up.” she declares, golden aura blazing to life up around her. “I'm not gonna quit until I've given it my all!
“Alright, let's go.” you reply, again offering her your left hand. Which she takes, you then once more expanding your New Salda-enhanced ki sense to get a better picture of the battle down below. The Rak'kari haven't lost much ground, but you do sense a dozen more-powerful beings among the Hydae ranks. No doubt more Abyssal abominations. There are still Hydae fleeing by the hundreds away from the battlefield, and with their total numbers reduced by a good percentage, they seem to think the battle may not be a sure victory. So you focus your ki sense on those fleeing the battle, finding one fleeing mostly-alone towards the side that was the right of your position before teleporting up here, and once more use your Instant Transmission.

“RwlRwlRwlRwlRwl!!” comes the panicked screams of the one you appear directly in front of, it dashing to the side to try and hide among the others of its kind fleeing the battle. And you let it go, focusing instead on the mass of Hydae still determined to overwhelm and kill the Rak'kari. Letting go of your daughter's hand and gripping your ancient blade's handle with both, you draw it over your right shoulder for a downwards diagonal swing and begin flooding the blade with your ki. Once more the ancient metal blazes to life with azure light, the Hydae fleeing seeing you and immediately scattering with more cries of “RwlRwlRwlRwlRwl!!”

At their fellows screams, more of the ones still pressing the attack turn, and see your Dark-slaying blade ready to fire another attack. The beasts all cry out in fear or anger, you can't really tell and don't care to find out. They're in your way, and that means only one thing: they're going to die.

“HAAAAAAAA!!” you roar, no stream of bubbles this time as your suit works perfectly. Your energy blazes forth from your sword, slashing through thousands of the Hydae with no resistance. The attack cuts cleanly through their entire horde, and from this angle you take more than twenty thousand of their lives with a single swing. So of course you do it again, drawing the blade up over your left shoulder and firing another slash. Again your magic cleaves tens of thousands of the little creatures, as well as several of the monstrous energies you sensed as well. In the moments it takes the Hydae to fill the gaps in their ranks your attacks left, your two attacks making a flattened out 'X' shape through the sides of their forces. They immediately realize the danger they're in, and hundreds of thousands of Hydae abandon trying to go for the Rak'kari, and instead charge directly at you and your daughter.

“MY TURN!” she declares, actually stepping out in front of you as you were drawing the blade back. Then her Stand reappears behind her, but this time it's different. Unlike its usual golden-metallic appearance, now her Stand appears as what look like living flames. “Go Triumph!”
“KIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!” her Stand bellows, opening it's maw and unleashing a beam of light and heat. It's too hot and intense to be called fire, the beam vaporizing the water around itself and her Stand. You wince as her heat scalds you, you getting some distance to avoid getting burned any worse. Like the bodies of the Hydae, her attack simply melting those it only get near while completely disintegrating those it hits more directly. Her Stand drags the beam left to right, then right to left in a more upwards-angled diagonal, then left to right once more and kills the frog-like creatures by the tens of thousands. They scream in pain as they die, your daughter's merciless attack vaporizing well over forty thousand in under fifteen seconds. She then ends the attack, her Stand returning to normal before vanishing as she blazes her golden, sparking Ascended aura up around herself.

“Who else wants some?!” she declares in challenge, and to no surprise her sudden burst of destruction has scared the Hydae terribly. They couldn't even SEE her attack, yet she caused more damage in just a few seconds than the entire Rak'kari army has so far. The ones who had been charging towards you all are now scattering, your daughter's show of force breaking their morale. They give up trying to reach you all, instead the majority of the Hydae forces break and start running! Many run back towards the Abyssal Trench, while others scatter in other directions away from you and your daughter's fury.
“That's my girl.” you think to yourself, feeling a proud grin behind your breathing mask at your daughter's display. You all can do this!

In that moment, right as you let your guard down, the approaching Mindslayers that you'd completely forgotten about arrive. And as one, all one hundred of them unleash their mind-scrambling blasts as one. Everything goes dark as you lose all of your senses simultaneously, and are consumed by complete nothingness. Opening and closing your eyes makes no difference, you can't see anything either way. You reach forward cautiously with your left hand, reaching out to were your daughter had been, but you can't feel anything. You have no sense of anything, lost in this complete and utter void of sense. But you do know one thing: you can't quit fighting yet. You have to do something, anything to keep fighting through! “Sorry, but I don't have time for that!” you reply, trying to force yourself awake now that you know you're unconscious. “My daughter's in trouble, I have to save her!”
“She's in no danger. At least, from the outside.” he says, again holding up a scrying orb for you to gaze into. Which you do, planning only to glace as you keep trying to wake up, but the scene before you is astonishing. You, the Rak'kari, and even the Hydae are all floating limply in the sea, completely incapacitated by the coordinated psychic assault. But one warrior is still standing, ready to fight.

“Cauli...” you mutter, watching as she turns from your unconscious body, and has her Stand envelop you in its wings for your safety. She then takes your sword from the ground beside you, tossing her spear down, as she begins channeling her own energy into the blade. To your surprise it doesn't resize to her as it does you when you transform, but that's not important right now. “Wake me up, and get me back in the fight. She can't fight them alone!”
“Can't she?” Mechikabura asks as your daughter explodes forward, blazing a golden trail through the water towards the mass of monsters. She charges the first one, and with a single swing takes off the top half of the sea creature's head, then kicks off of it and with the momentum spins around to decapitate a second, transitioning into a Su Ma front flip to behead a third beast. “Seems to me that your daughter is doing just fine on her own.

“She is a tough one.” you reply, watching as she puts her Su Ma practice to work, seemingly dancing through the swarm of giant beasts effortlessly. But since you don't have to worry about her, at least at the moment, you'll listen to whatever he wants to say then get him to send you back into the fight. “So, why are you here? You don't come by unless you want something, or want to divulge information I'll use against the Supreme Kai of Time.”
“Or to help you.” he gently chides. “Don't forget that. The mere fact of your bloodline's continued existence continues to vex her daily, and this amuses me. But today, I'm here to help you specifically, Karn.”
“In what way?” you ask, genuinely curious. He gave you information about Chaya's upcoming battle just the other day, what could have changed to have given him more to say? Is there more going on here beneath the waves than you were led to believe? “What don't I know?”

“Oh, you are blissfully unaware of a great many things. Not least of all that which is happening within your own bloodline.” he says cryptically, you feeling your fury heating up a bit at his insinuation. But you hold your tongue, as he's never given you blatantly wrong information, or even bad advice. Something to ponder later. “But what's important right now is this Abyss you seek to challenge. And what lies beneath the bottom. Naught but death awaits you there.”
“So how do I close this Abyss?” you ask him directly. “How do I stop these monsters from coming through into my world from theirs?”

“An old wound, that Abyss is. Far older than your planet's late Guardian.” he answers, which doesn't give you much hope. “That Darkness is even older than the dragon egg which was taken from it. Healing such a wound is impossible, without a powerful Abyssal being's cooperation. A master of Dark magic may be able to inhibit it as well, or at least narrow the tear and greatly limit the number of beasts which can flow through. But, thanks to your travels through time, you have the key to undoing the damage without magic yourself. But this path is risky, putting you in far greater peril than simple death.”

As he speaks, suddenly the dark void begins cracking. And instead of the usual light streaming through, you see the azure power of your sword, or the Rak'kari champion's aura blazing through. You look to the scrying orb Mechikabura is still holding, and see a pulse of azure light flash out from the Rak'kari champion, and as it passes over your still-unconscious body that darkness around you shatters even further. Seems he possesses an ability to save his allies from the effects of a Mindslayer's psychic assault.

“Each path before you has it's risks. Tread carefully, should you choose to challenge the Abyss itself.” Mechikabura warns, and with a third pulse of azure light striking you, your body is blasted awake. Your eyes snap open, and as you regain consciousness you feel as if you've slept for a whole eight hours. Your body feels well rested, far better than it had before you'd been brain blasted unconscious.

“Cauli!” you say to yourself, looking up and seeing your daughter's still flipping and spinning, blade flashing and spraying Mindslayer blood as she keeps moving. You hear the colossal beasts howling out in pain as she cuts them, and you notice that more than a third of their number have already fallen. Looks like she's really in her flow, and letting her technique guide her to victory.

You decide to support your daughter from where you are instead of flying over, and begin focusing your ki into both hands. Caulifla thrusts your blade down into the top of one's head, killing it instantly as two others start charging her from opposite sides. You throw your hands forward, both orbs of emerald ki soaring unnoticed directly towards the monsters. Your two orbs fly directly at the two, bursting into their Scattershots mere feet from their heads. At the last second both monsters notice your attacks, but they're too late to dodge and your blasts find their mark. Both beasts' heads are consumed in their entirety, Caulifla's head turning towards you. She waves to you before drawing your sword free, then kicks off the corpse towards another monster.

Flipping and spinning, your daughter continues her attack as you raise both of your hands, fingertips spread as you channel your ki into each fingertip. While preparing to fire you also focus, zeroing in on ten different ki signatures before unleashing your Scatter Beams. Ten emerald beams fire from your fingertips, and ten Mindslayers perish, pierced through the head by your attacks. Again you gather your ki, and again ten Mindslayers fall, you and your daughter making quick work of the beasts. Then a barrage of magical blasts fire forth, hundreds of the Rak'kari unleashing their attacks and swiftly killing Mindslayer after Mindslayer with focused barrages.

“This is too easy.” you think to yourself, focusing more on your ki sense after firing another ten beams to drop their numbers under a third of how many there were when they first attacked. You can sense the tens of thousands of still-unconscious Hydae drifting down to the seafloor slowly, many already piled up. But other than them, the Rak'kari, and the rapidly-dwindling numbers of Mindslayers, you can't sense anything else anywhere nearby. Even the Hydae who'd been trying to flee the battle were also all knocked out by the joint psychic assault. It really does seem that this battle is nearly over. You watch as Caullifla engages the last three of them, decapitating one with a front flipping spin at the base of the neck before twisting and launching your sword like a spear into the eye of the second. The third then opens its jaws wide, trying to devour your daughter whole, but she simply summons her Stand.

“KIIIIIII!!” it caws, feet and hands catching the beast's jaws and holding them open as Caulifla points down its throat. And her Stand unleashes a torrent of flames directly into the monster's insides, roasting it alive. As she destroys the final one with fire you swim over and grab your hammer, slinging it over your back before raising your right hand to your forehead and readying yourself to teleport to her side and reclaim your weapon. But before you do, suddenly you sense something. A dark energy, a wrongness suddenly surges through your New Salda-enhanced senses.

As you sense this darkness you turn, and see a single Hydae has awakened not too far from you. The little frog-like creature has its staff raised in both arms overhead, you getting a sinking feeling in your chest that something terrible is about to happen. You raise your hand, preparing to fire a blast to obliterate it, but the frog moves first. And to your surprise the being impales itself with the implement! Blood sprays out of the little frog creature's back, then front as well as it tears the staff free. But blood isn't all that sprays out, as hundreds of dark tentacles as big around as your shoulders somehow spring forth from the being's corpse! They consume everything in their path, the ki of thousands of Hydae simply vanishing as they disappear into those dark tendrils. Several of them charge directly towards you as well, and you try firing the blast for the Hydae at the approaching darkness. But it consumes your blast before slamming into you as well, and everything goes dark. The shadowy tendril consumes you, enveloping you in the blinding, damp, yet slightly warm darkness. And immediately feel your energy being siphoned off!

“Dammit!” you snarl as your ki is swiftly being drained, you trying to gather your energy for an Explosive Wave but can't even muster the strength to do that much. If you don't do something, this dark tendril is going to absorb every ounce of power you have!

What do you do?
>Draw upon New Salda's power, and not only your own, and try to brute force your way out of this
>Telepathically reach out to Caulifla, and have her free you with your sword's magic
>Try and Instant Transmission out of this power draining darkness before it's too late
>Instead of letting this darkness draw out your power, try grabbing onto the energy flowing through this darkness and draw it INTO you instead
>Summon Divine Dragon Force, and see if your Stand can turn this Abyssal tendril against itself
>Try raising your power as high as is goes, forcing more and more energy into this darkness until your might exceeds what it can absorb
>Revert back to your base form, and in that instant you're no longer touching the tendril try teleporting out of this mess

Too many things can go wrong with the other options, best to admit we need help.
Also, does the sword not change dimensions for Caulifla because it's not attuned to her, or because it can't shrink past its original size?
>>
>>5309650
If we try to turn the Abyss against itself while it's still linked to Karn's ki, we might accidentally hit ourselves with DDF.

>>
>>5309660
It's a good question, but we don't have time to come to a definitive answer, nor should we potentially risk turning our own energy against ourselves.
I'm firmly in favor of having Caulifla pull us out if a tight spot. She's here, so we might as well work as a proper team.

“Dammit, I'm losing strength.” you think to yourself, the darkness draining your might more and more by the second. You have only one option, throwing your fist directly up. “No choice, I need you! Divine Dragon Force!”
“GRRROOOAAAAR!!” your Stand roars as it blazes to life around your arm, crimson scales somehow shining in the darkness enveloping you. Your Stand immediately knows your goals, and lunges forward into the dark. Its eyes blaze with crimson light, and suddenly the drain on your energy simply stops. The darkness around you begins to seemingly dissolve as well, and after a few seconds you're free.

“DADDY!!” Caulifla shouts, dashing down and tackling you. “I was so worried when your ki disappeared, I thought you died!”
“Sorry to worry you kiddo.” you say, holding her as you turn to look at the mess of tentacles. The one that'd grabbed you finishes disappearing, and the mass of tentacles begin all drawing back towards the central mass. But as they do, you sense a mass of ki beginning to gather at the center of it and you have a terrible feeling that whatever appears can't be good. Not with all the energy it absorbed from you, and all the living beings it completely consumed. “We gotta get back. Before-”

“GYOOOOOUUUUUUUUU!!”

A massive roar accompanies a giant form as it burst from that mass of darkness, you holding onto your daughter and leaping back and away as the new abomination emerges. It looks similar to the ones you've seen before, except with pincers and a hardened shell on it's head like the Rak'kari. No doubt from those who's bodies it had absorbed. This beast is massive, its eyes each larger than your head and boasting a powerlevel that could prove fatally dangerous to even you. Thanks undoubtedly to your energy it stole before you were able to escape with Divine Dragon Force. The titanic monstrosity continues to emerge from the darkness, it's body longer than anything you've encountered so far.

“Karn, what the hell is going on down there?” Meloka suddenly thinks to you, your wife clearly worried at this monstrous powerlevel's sudden appearance. “What just happened?”
“Long story short, just had some of my energy stolen by the darkness, and it helped make this monster.” you reply, turning your gaze from the massive abomination and searching for your sword. You look over the different Mindslayers your daughter killed, each one trialing blood as they drift towards the seafloor, but you don't spot your ancient sword anywhere. Where is it?

“Dad look out!!” Caulifla shouts, but before you can move you're suddenly grabbed! Without hesitation you pitch your daughter away as what feel like two blades grip tighter into your sides, you feeling the edges beginning to cut through your skin. Then before you can reach down to pull them away, you're jerked backwards towards the abomination. “DADDY!!”
“Tch!” you seethe, wincing in pain as the grip holding you cuts deeper into your sides. The monster's grip placement was terrible for you as well, the giant pincer grabbing you just beneath your ribs into the softer meat of your sides. The claw turns you around as it draws you back, and you see the monster's face from far closer than you'd ever wanted too, it opening wide to devour you. Or so you thought.

“KYOOOOOOOO!!” it roars, unleashing a cloud of darkness from its mouth that once more fully envelops you. The claw holding you suddenly disappears, leaving you floating in a dark void alone with nothing more than the vague sense you're falling. Your senses are cut off, your senses no longer tied to New Salda's as you're plunged into darkness. Expanding your ki sense, you are shocked to discover you can't sense ANYTHING! No Caulifla, no Rak'kari, no monster, nothing. You're alone.

What do you do now?

>You're still probably by the monster, right? Unleash a powerful Explosive Wave, maybe even a Red Dawn and obliterate it along with this Dark you're trapped in

"This is bad, I have to get out of here." you think to yourself, drawing your right hand up to your forehead as you put everything into your ki sense. You try expanding your ki sense as you usually do, searching for anyone, anything with a ki signature that you could reach out and teleport to, but you can't sense anything. Not even the monstrous crab-like abomination's titanic ki, who's face was a mere few feet away from you appears in your ki sense. Whatever this darkness it sprayed you with has blinded your ki sense, it may be rendering you blind. So you reach out to Caulifla telepathically, trying to find your daughter to teleport to her that way. “Cauli, where are you? Can you hear me?”

But you get nothing. Your mind doesn't connect to your daughter's mind, or even Raven's. You are alone.

“What the hell?” you mutter to yourself, as the sensation of falling continues. You feel your body still dropping through.... something, and then the realization hits you: that black mist wasn't just a disorientating darkness. It has TELEPORTED you somewhere else! And you have a sinking feeling matching the pull of gravity just where you've been sent. “I have to get out of here, and back to Caulifla before that monster can hurt her!”

With your resolve hardened you redouble your efforts to sense something, ANYTHING to get you out of this space. You block out all of your other senses, focusing exclusively on your ki sense, and as the falling sensation continues, you suddenly sense something. Far, far down below you, you can suddenly sense a tiny spark of life. So you focus on it exclusively, and with your hand to your forehead use your Instant Transmission one more time. Teleporting through the darkness, you appear down deeper into the darkness by the ki you'd felt. Appearing in the darkness next to the minuscule ki signature, you drop down maybe another foot or two before your feet land on what feels like solid ground. And while you can sense the being is right before you, you still can't see anything. So you decide to brighten up the room, activating your armor just in case.

“Hrrrmph!” you exhale, drawing out your ki and focusing it into your Energy Body around you. As you do, your emerald ki radiates light out around you, and illuminates the pit you've fallen into. The area appears to be made of naturally-formed stone, not cut blocks like a temple but more like a cave. However, more importantly than that your light also illuminates the source of the ki you'd sensed. And your brain can't make sense of what you're seeing. But you get the feeling that this, thing, is suddenly just as aware of your presence as you are of it. And something just tells you that this just can't be good.

QM UPDATE

Not going to lie, I’d expected us to be finished with the Abyss this episode, or at least near the end, so in the next one we’d get to focus on the Chaya fight. But we had unexpected choices and even more unexpected nat 1s, so here we are. But all this goes to prove that you don’t always WIN by virtue of being the strongest fighter present. You’ve been put into a really bad spot, and without the very tool you needed to turn this situation around. This next episode could actually spell an end for Karn as we know him. Are you ready to face that, and do your best?

Also, in regards to the epilogue, do you all want to see what Caulifla does, how she reacts and how she and the Rak’kari battle a monster stronger than any of them for the epilogue? Or would you rather save that to be a surprise for after the Abyss battle is over?
>>
>>5310649
I think saving Cauli's epilogue until after we get back, if we get back, is the right idea.
Here's hoping somebody had the wits to call Aku and ask him to look for us as soon as we disappeared. It shouldn't be too much of a leap in logic to assume we ended up somewhere in the Abyss or some other plane of elemental Darkness.
Sidenote, are we covered in Dark matter again?
>>
>>5310655
Doing that epilogue now could change how you react IC to learning what she does here, true.

I get that it’s for a gag, but still. That’s not how survival evolution works

I think gags are fine when they don't make light of incredibly important narrative details like this.

Just finished the second post of this week’s epilogue, and Chaya is about to be ambushed. I hope you didn’t think our nameless, faceless enemy had given up on making your family’s life hell.

Epilogue is ready for posting tomorrow, just have to secure the images. This one’s going to be fun

With the frequency Chaya gets ambushed by assassins, it's only more disappointing how she's let herself get caught up in the pageantry and politics of showbusiness.

I...don’t follow how one leads into another? Vox hasn’t tried assassinating her, aside from sending the gear knights. But they weren’t exactly a threat, so few in number and power.

Then there were the Hive that breached the ship that one time.
She should know by now not to be so careless and focus on being an effective fighter first and foremost.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 176 Intermission-

AGE 750, DREADZONE CHAMPION'S SHIP

“Come on chat, final set let's go!” you call out excitedly, lifting the bar up and resting it on your shoulders one final time for the evening. The weight slams down onto you, it far heavier under the twenty times New Salda gravity you've been training in. But despite that you remain poised on the balls of your feet, and start going down for the final set. “You'd better not skip out chat! One, two three!”

>Final set boys let's go
>Go Chaya go go
>Let's get this shit
>Hey Chaya have you seen Tanya's new power she showed off yesterday?
>Chaya number one
>Late stream best stream, too bad I can't join the workout as my roomates are all asleep
>No pain no gain, let's do this

You are Chaya: Champion of Dreadzone, Super Saiyan, and are currently on your private vessel en route to a planet where an ancient mechanical race have awakened. Just the other day they had the audacity to attack YOUR home, and now you're going to do the same to them. But you're not leaving until their world is in ruins, and you've shown them why they should NOT fuck with you and your people. But as you've been just in the ship, you decided to give your most loyal fans a show tonight, a comfy workout stream before the big battle tomorrow. Raditz didn't want to join you on camera, so he's currently elsewhere on the ship while you've been streaming the inside of the gravity chamber. But as you count out your reps, you see an interesting message flash by the chat scrolling by on your special, modified streaming scouter.

“Tanya got a new power?” you ask, keeping up the pace as you wait for chat to start answering. “Eleven. Tewlve. Thirteen. When? Is it the powerup she used fighting that Kai?”

You'd seen the footage earlier today, at Orlen's insistence, and were genuinely surprised at first that her armaments have improved that much. A cannon like that one could probably even split your private ship here clean in two. Then you see the same username replying to your question, after about a hundred or so other chatters have typed different messages.

>Tanya's nothing, that's why she hasn't tried for the runback yet
>Broke my weight machine's cable, looks like that's my final set today boys
>Tanya's only fifth best girl while Chaya's number two
>They tested her Networked Type 101's limits on stream. Ans as the viewer count went up, so did her power output
>Whens Chilli and his cute wife Megu coming back to Dreadzone?
>U wot m8? Trying to start a fight?
>Tanya's too flat, our /fit/ goddess is Chaya!

“Huh. Twenty. Twenty one. That's pretty cool. Twenty three. She's gotta have. Twenty five. A whole bunch. Of fans. By now. Twenty nine, thirty.” you say, continuing your reps as you ponder this development. She'd told you before that she had stolen a self-proclaimed god's power, which you never actually saw but still wholeheartedly believe. She wouldn't lie to you, right? After all, your oldest little brother almost killed a god. And by his own admission, you know that Tanya has a lot more magical energy at her disposal than he does. You ponder that in silce as you keep cranking out your reps, hitting fifty before you see another strange comment.

>Bro got too stronk for his machine
>Now lift the remains of your machine for the rest of your set
>Chaya's nice, but her abs-olute milf of a mother is #1
>Hope you enjoyed the last workout of your life, “champion” Chaya
>Lift the ruins of your machine, then lift your entire room!
>Tanya's got that new gun too, totally crazy damage output
>Hwut?
>Is this nigga serious?
>Mods, someone ban this stupid
>Yo wtf? Who this first time posting ass moron threatening the champ?
>Ayo?
>????
>Oh shit
>!?!?!
>Salty splitjaw detected
>Ban this fucker now

“Haaaah. Mods?” you ask with a sigh, knowing they're undoubtedly already working on banning the guy's account. But then, to your surprise, more and more increasingly-bizarre usernames keep spamming that exact message. What is going on?

>Hope you enjoyed the last workout of your life, “champion” Chaya
>Are we under attack?
>Get em mods!
>Mods=gods
>Another one?
>Hope you enjoyed the last workout of your life, “champion” Chaya
>Wtf?
>Hope you enjoyed the last workout of your life, “champion” Chaya
>Hope you enjoyed the last workout of your life, “champion” Chaya
>They're multiplying!
>Hope you enjoyed the last workout of your life, “champion” Chaya

“Uhhh, guys? What's going on?” you ask, stopping mid-rise as the entire chat is drowned out in a flurry of the ominous spam. And suddenly you get the feeling that this isn't simply a spam message. You suspect that something bad is about to go down, and dropping your heavy bar you start walking over towards the gravity chamber's control panel in the center of the room. As you do, you try and joke away the sudden tension you feel. “This is kinda weird. One of you guys aren't just playing a prank on me, are you? If you are come clean, right now, and I'll only have you banned for a week instead of permanently.”

But the onslaught of spam continues, unabated, the chat moving so fast you're no longer able to read it at all. But then, all of a sudden, that's the least of your problems.

You suddenly hear the door to the gravity chamber slide open, your head immediately whipping around towards the noise. But you don't see anything, no one standing there to trigger the motion sensor. As soon as you recognize this you focus, expanding your ki sense and searching for any ki signature. Yet you don't sense anything either, the door just seemingly opening on its own.

“What the hell?” you wonder aloud, then the workout song you'd been listening to ends and the playlist switches to the next track.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvTLAHHEvxA

“Who's there?” you call out, more forcefully this time. But no one answers you except the door, which slides back and seals with a hydraulic hiss. As it does, you've had enough of this hide-and-seek bullshit. Turning back to the controls, you immediately crank up the gravity from twenty to fifty New Salda's gravity, taking the machine immediately to its maximum setting. The ambient hum deepens, and the intense gravity slams down onto your shoulders. “Guh!”

But as the weight slams down onto you, nearly sending you to your knees, you hear it. Three distinct, metallic thuds echo in the room, you focusing on the nearest one as you flash up into a Super Saiyan.

“GOT YOU!!” you roar, kicking off the ground directly at the sound and drawing your right fist back. Dropping down due to the enhanced gravity you slam your fist down, it striking something invisible more than three feet of of the ground. But your punch carves straight through the metal-feeling substance to slam onto the reinforced ground, sparks suddenly exploding out of the nothing. Leaping back, you watch as a metallic figure becomes visible, one arm torn clean off as you'd punched down through the machine's left shoulder. The metal being raises its gaze up at you, and you feel your blood run cold. You're staring face-to-face with a metal Sangheili assassin! “What the-?”

“DIE!” it roars, mouth opening wide and firing a beam of pale blue energy directly at you. But as a Super Saiyan you barely feel the enhanced gravity, sliding to your right between the machine and the chamber's controls to easily avoid the attack. Then you lunge forward, planning to end this quickly but the machine turns its head, swiping you with the beam. You bring your arms up, braced for impact, but the beam is nothing like you'd imagined. It doesn't hit with the force you were expecting, instead the super-cold beam causes ice to begin forming on your crossed arms! So you don't hesitate and keep charging forward, slamming your frozen arms directly into the machine assassin's head. Ice shatters and metal crunches, you striking the would-be assassin with such force you send it flying backwards into the far wall, which it crunches against before falling to the ground.

From there you don't hesitate, leaping into the air and allowing the enhanced gravity to pull you down into a powerful double-footed stomp directly into the machine's head. Which gives with a satisfying crunch, sparks and oil flying as your kick decapitates the robot. But as satisfying as that was, you can't revel in the victory yet. There are still two more robots somewhere in the room behind you. When neither answers you smirk a bit to yourself, and start talking to your chat who're watching this all unfold. “Look at these sore losers. They couldn't stop my dad, so now they come here thinking they can kill me. But, news flash you splitjaw bastards: I'm my daddy's DAUGHTER!!”

Roaring the last word you Ascend, power doubling instantly as you take on the power beyond a Super Saiyan. You aura blazes even higher and brighter, turning the red-light chamber golden with your full power. And in your blazing light, you can see it: a faint reflection from both of the invisible metal reflecting a tiny bit of light.

“I got you bastards now.” you think to yourself, kicking off the ground and blitzing the nearest one first. As you charge forward, you gather ki into your right foot for a spectacular attack. And right as you close the distance to only a foot or two, you stop your forward charge and turn that momentum into a spin, firing off one of your Ultra Crescent attacks. The Death Slash-like blade is fired from your spinning kick, slicing through the air and the invisible assassin trying to hide from you just as easily before impacting the far wall behind it. Your kick actually cuts into the reinforced material, but not nearly enough to break the gravity chamber's seal. After all you're a professional, and held back just enough to keep from destroying the room. Such sudden decompression would have terrible effects on the rest of the ship, and you're not destroying your OWN ship. That would just be stupid.

“Wh-What?” the second mechanical splitjaw asks, as its torso falls off its legs and collapses to the floor. A second later the severed halves of the machine begin sparking and spraying oil, making a mess out of your gravity chamber. You're going to have to get the cleaner bots in here before you use it again. “How? You shouldn't be. This strong.”
“How?” you ask it teasingly, taking a couple steps forward to stomp on its head in a show of dominance. “I'm the fucking Champion, THAT'S how!”

And with your declaration stomp through the machine's head, splattering it. And then there was one. But as you turn to face the final assassin, it surprises you by no longer being invisible! He's just standing there, menacingly.

“Heh, finally realized that your invisibility won't save you?” you ask, turning fully to face the last one. Yet despite your confident demeanor, you suddenly feel even MORE worried that this one's chosen to reveal itself. And, as you stare it down, you can't help but feel like this is where the real challenge begins.

“I am First Blade Mrata 'Nagam of the Silent Shadow.” the metal Sangheili says, drawing out his fighting energy blade. But you immediately notice this one's different, it glowing a deep, blood-red hue instead of the usual paler, more muter blue. Well, if this isn't a real boss fight, you don't know what is. “And by divine decree, I am to strike you down, here and now.”
“Oh yeah? We'll see about that.” you say, holding your right hand out towards the door. More specifically, towards your ancient sword you'd left there by the door. Grabbing it by telekinesis, you pull the ancient sword into your outstretched hand, it slamming into your open hand as you raise it over your head. Grabbing the weapon in both hands you take the Djem So fighting stance your Daddy'd taught you. Holding the sword overhead you crouch, spreading your feet with your right back, left pointed directly at your enemy as you find your perfect balance. “Bring it on.”

“Ice Nine.” the Sangheili says in a sonorous voice while taking the same stance as that Sangheili you'd fought before, reminding you very much so of the one who'd tried to assassinate you in your own arena. But as he doesn't say anything else or try to attack, you decide to go on the offensive first.
“Watch this chat.” you say with a smirk, and try lunging forward to cut him down in a single strike. But as you go, your charge is immediately stopped! “Huh?”

And looking down you see that, somehow, your boots are FROZEN to the ground! Then as you look back up, you see the Sangheili assassin has already closed the distance, thrusting his blood-colored sword directly for your sternum.

“SHIT!” you seethe, twisting your upper body to narrowly dodge the piercing thrust. The edge of his lower blade gives you a shallow cut across your abs, just under your shirt as you barely avoid taking a lethal blow. “HAAAA!!”

Tearing your left foot free of the probably-magic ice with sheer force, you drive your knee up into the Sangheili's right side and send him flying. Focusing on your right foot you tear it free as well, just as you hear the splitjaw crash into the wall you'd kicked him at. Before he can do any more funny business you take to the air, hovering more than a foot off the ground as you turn to face him. The warrior rises back up despite the massive dent in what would be his right floating ribs, an injury no-doubt fatal for a non-machine. But it looks like you'll have to hit it even harder than that to end this.

“Nice magic trick.” you say, gripping the sword in both hands overhead once again. “Let's see you do it again, now that I'm not touching the ground.”
“Not bad. I can see how you were able to outlast Cero 'Trasum's Deja Vu.” the Sangheili says suddenly, catching you by surprise. Seems this one knows about his kind's failure against you before. So why does he think he can beat you? “It's time undoing was a powerful ability, albeit for a short time. But I have no such restrictions on my power. Ice Nine.”

Suddenly a blast of frigid wind slams into you, you bringing your wide sword down like a shield to try and take some of the blast instead of your admittedly lightly-clothed and workout sweat-drenched body. But as you do, ice begins forming on the blade itself! To your shock, as your back crashes into the far wall, the icy wind keeps you pinned there while your blade continues freezing, growing colder and colder in your grip.

“Dammit, I have to get clear!” you think to yourself, and decide to try throwing your weapon at the Sangheili to create an opening. But as you have the thought and look down at your hands, you see that your fingers are actually frozen as well! Encased in a thin layer of ice, freezing you to your weapon! “N-No way!”
“You will not survive me.” the splitjaw continues over the icy storm, you watching helplessly as the ice continues growing and spreading. You watch in horror as your entire body is swiftly encased within a thin layer of ice in just a few seconds. You have to do something, and quick, or you could very well die in here! Then it hits you, you have an assist you can call in just for moments like these!

“Pursuer!” you call out, summoning the ancient warrior spirit still inhabiting your weapon. The heavily armored knight appears before you, spectral body seemingly unaffected by the ice storm. “Kill him!”
“There you are.” the splitjaw says as you summon the phantom, lunging forward towards you both through his own icy blast. Your weapon's spirit raises it's shield to block, but the Sangheili is too powerful. He kicks the Pursuer's massive shield aside, catches the phantom's right wrist in his left hand, then drives his blood-red blade directly through the armored chest of the knight. Phantom particles spray all over your rapidly-freezing body, and to your shock as he fades you see the splitjaw's body isn't immune to it's own ice, and is now covered in what looks like frost. He then draws his blade back once more, and judging from his stance plans to end this here and now. “No more tricks. Die.”

But you're not going down so easy, and you're most CERTAINLY not done yet!

“HRRRAAAAAAAAA!!!” you bellow, drawing deep into the depths of your power and bringing forth everything you've got. Your body rapidly expands, muscle mass more than doubling as you push your body to its absolute limits. The sudden expansion shatters the ice encasing you, golden aura burning wildly about you as your power doubles. This is your Ultra Ascended form, the current peak of your power. “No, I'M ending this!”

Before the startled Sangheili can react you blitz forward, swinging the flat of your blade into his entire torso. He tries blocking the attack with his own sword and forearms, but even with the powerful icy wind at his back he can't stop you. Your blade strikes with an ear-splitting clang, launching him into the far wall so hard he bounces off of it. You dash forward, catching him by his disgusting face and raising your sword overhead, and with a single swing sever the entire left side of his body! From collarbone to groin you split the splitjaw, sparks flying and oil spraying everywhere. But you're not done there, and on the recovery release his head, bisecting him horizontally right across the middle. Then with a final reverse upwards backhanded swing, sever his right arm wielding the blood-colored sword, sending it and his half an arm flying before catching his head in your grip once more, this time by the throat.

“THIS is the power of a Super Saiyan.” you snarl, glaring directly into the machine's eyes.
“And this. Is the power. Of faith.” he replies, and what's left of his chest cavity opens up revealing a frozen sphere of some sort. Almost immediately the ice vaporizes off of it, the orb turning neon orange and radiating with blistering heat. “Perish, heretic.”
“Oh shi-!”

KABOOM

The mechanical splitjaw activates some sort of self-destruct, blowing itself to smithereens in an attempt to take you down with it. But the smokescreen left behind after destroying itself tastes awful, you coughing on the smoke before trying to blow it away, futilely using the broad side of your sword like a fan.

“Gah! Dammit!” you complain, coughing on the smoke until the room's filtration works enough for you to see again and inspect the damage. The gravity chamber's controls are destroyed, the entire terminal blasted and will have to be repaired. Your special stream scouter is cracked, but surprisingly still works, and you can read the chat again. Even more surprisingly, that message is just gone, instead you have your clearly-happy fans commenting rapid-fire. You see that even your workout setup, having been opposite the gravity controls, also managed to survive the unexpected blast. So your fans can still clearly see you.

“Well, that was certainly an interesting final set.” you joke, a smile coming to your face as you read the happy comments of your fans. But then you see one, that no-doubt came from whoever, or whatever sent them after you.

>Wussed out like a bitch
>Sangheili? More like Kamikazheili.....I'll see myself out

>3v1 and still lost, lmao
>Even full metal they're still weak af

>Did none of you see that cool Stand? Really??
>Saiyans 80001, Sangheili 0
>Tch. Next time I'll send a full dozen instead of half
>Buncha sneaking-ass cowards afraid of a fair fight

“Wait, there's six of them?” you ask aloud, then feel your heart drop into your toes as the implications hit you. “Raditz!”

And as if on cue, the door opens, revealing the golden mane'd form of your boyfriend, sparks dancing around his body as he's also taken on his Ascended Super Saiyan form.

“CHAYA! WE'RE UNDER A.... Ah. I see the already found you.” he says, his shout dying immediately as he looks around at the aftermath, and sees you still standing. “Looks like I was worried over nothing.”
“Hey Radii.” you say happily, the two of you powering down simultaneously as you realize the other is no longer in danger. “You had three of these guys too?”
“I only fought two.” he says, then as you feel the other shoe drop see his eyes widen in understanding. Then without a word you both Ascend once more, knowing this isn't over yet.

“Self destruct sequence initiated.” comes the automated voice over the ship's speakers. “Sixty seconds until detonation. All Dreadzone personnel, remain at your posts unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.”
“Typical.” you say, the two of you rushing out of the room to confront the final splitjaw assassin. So much for a quiet, relaxing evening with your fans before the big battle tomorrow.

Zoldyck, right? I'm trying to think of a REALLY good way to make him suffer WITHOUT killing him, the last thing we need is more vengeful assassins. Again.

That whelp better be loaded if we find his hidey hole. He only needs 1 bullet.

His brother is far more dangerous than he is. But even together they're nothing compared to their father.

>inb4 Karn becomes attuned to the Dark
If that did happen though, would that give us any more resistance to time manipulation?
Or does Karn being a Fateless make that redundant?

Theirs still that thing we absorbed the first time we went to the abyss.
>>
>>5316454
Yeah but I'm almost entirely certain whatever that thing was, it wasn't a Dark aligned entity.
At least not originally.
For as much as it might have been changed by its time in the Abyss, the natural-born denizens and those who swore their allegiance to The Dark treated that things like an outsider.
It was clearly not native to the Abyss, and I wager that whatever it gave to Karn when he absorbed it had more affinity with the Divine than the Dark

You absorbed a soul. As for what that does, well we shall see eventually
>>5316464
They didn’t like it, that’s for sure. But perhaps it wasn’t divine
