You are a 30-ish year old man that died alone and unsatisfied. Your last wish to redo your life. When you opened your eyes you were again a high school student with your past memories intact. You have a chance to redo your life.

"What? How?" when you open your eyes you're back in your old bedroom in your parents house. The calendar on the wall says the year is 2007. It can't be real or can it? You tremblingly find the mirror and sure enough - a 15 year old boy looks at you. It's real. You're back in time. 15 years ago when you were a high school freshman. George W Bush is the president of america. Iraq war is in its fourth year. Steve Jobs recently announced the first iphone. You are 15 ear old again and you can redo your life from but what do you prioritize?

Make a quick buck legally, preferably before the recession. Weather that, then invest as much as possible into bitcoin. Hold for 10 years. Try and make a good spending philosophy in the meantime so we don't blow it on coke and hookers and yatchs. Cash out massive amount of bitcoin we bought for nothing. Reinvest a good chunck into long term stock market stocks Goodbye money problems.

Beyond that stuff, we're less that one year away from a major recession, we need to prioritize not getting screwed over. If we do that, we'll at least have money for college, since I assume we're American?

You died broke so this time you'll prioritize money. The great recession is coming. Your parents will lose the house and have an ugly divorce. You'll be trapped in student loan trap and paying for it until you're dead unless you make different choices this time. If you invest in bitcoin and hold it for 10 years it'll solve your money problems or you can bet a huge amount of money on whoever won the superbowl that year and live the good life. You instinctively look for your smartphone so you can google who won the superbowl that year but then it hits you - you don't have access to 2022 version of google or wikipedia. You only have your memory and the gadgets you had in 2007 as a high school freshman. Your family is middle class so your allowance is meager and you don't have any savings as a 15 year old so you can't invest big either. How do you get the money to invest?

We have to make this legal.
While having crime connections could allow us to make some big plays during and after the recession, it's not worth it when we have a plan to make it rich once it's over.
We have no criminal experience, it just isn't worth it gambling our do-over for this. We don't need that much saved away. As in, we can literally just stay on watch for the first appearance of bitcoin, then set up a computer or three as miners, or buy bitcoin from other people. We'll have to make it a bit subtle, but it's easily doable as a joke.

If anything, I'd be up for trying to remember which banks didn't fold during the crisis, and maybe trying to get our parents to switch the mortgage over, or take out a loan with them to pay back our current one so they don't get screwed?

Maybe a dice roll for that or the quality of part-time job from what we can remember?

"Welcome to McDonald's" you hoped anything but McDonald's but there's part-time job listing only for McDonald's crew members. You'll take orders and cook big macs and also cleanup for $7.25/hour. It's not how you hoped to start your second life but you'll need the money to invest in bitcoin so you don't die broke at 30. But you can't legally work during school hours so you'll need to go to school too. Is there someone you want to talk to in class?

Fine by me. Not actually a cryptobro or anything. If this had been the 90s I would have suggested Amazon and Google stocks. Our character died a broke loser and comes back right before the recession that is going to tear his family apart and push him into lifelong financial debt. It's a means to an end, really. I expect a post or two for setting up miners whenever Bitcoin pops up, maybe a post about whether we try and buy some off people on the internet, maybe another about storage, then it's either not going to get touched again for a while or be used as a plot mcguffin. Then we'll hopefully cash out a part of it and invest somewhere else.

Jacob and Emily were your closest friends in high school but they start dating when they're juniors and you become the third wheel. They start meeting without you and you drift apart and your closes friendship vanishes. You know they got married and had kids later but when you died you hadn't talked to them in years. What if you do things differently this time and keep your friendship alive? You can also make drastic changes like asking out Emily before Jacob does and wind up with her as your wife and the mother of your kids while Jacob turns into the third wheel? But it's not like you have to stay locked in your former social circle. You can befriend a nerdy guy like Matthew who can help you learn how to code and get your start with bitcoins. You don't really care if it makes you one of the weirdos because you're too old for high-school politics at least mentally. But it's not like money have to be your only priority you can still have a little bit of social life. Madison is your freshman crush but you never confessed to her and she moved away in sophomore year and you never saw her again. You can confess to her this time and even if she moves and you never see her again you'll have no regrets and all that. You try remembering what happens to your other classmates. Michael the class clown will die of drug OD in college unless his fate is changed this time. Emma will become your first girlfriend in senior year but you'll breakup after a misunderstanding before prom and that two faced snake Joshua will sweep in and take her to prom leaving you without a date. You never got revenge because you went to college right after but now have 4 years to give Joshua shit if you feel like it. You're starting from scratch so you'll spend lot of time with all of them but you start your second school life talking to Madison in class.

You say that like a person randomly posting bullshit on 4chan hasn’t gotten millions of people believing prophecies that are utterly wrong.
I think we could use some mundane knowledge about future school life to get a base of people that are believers or willing to help. At the least we could show an uncanny ability to win small time bets and give rough outlines on what half of the tests for the next few years are gonna be. Maybe predict some major school event that won’t be changed by free will or hearing that it exists.
Then at graduation when we’re old enough to legally gamble we all bet on some longshots with great odds so that the Las Vegas mob doesn’t beeline on only us for winning every bet. The big problem is that everyone is dumb teenagers, but I’m hoping the premise of time traveling back into your own body is dumb enough that nobody believes them.
And how tf did our wish get granted anyway? Did we have some magical wish granting artifact the whole time and never realized it? It might be time to rack our brains about what stuff we owned.
And if magic is real, do other people know it’s real that might not like what we’re doing?

You're physically 15 year old high school freshman but mentally you're a 30 year old adult with more maturity and life experiences. Madison is an actual 15 year old girl so she's lot less mature and experienced about dating. When you were a real teenager you were very awkward around girls and didn't know what to say and got tongue tied but now you can talk confidently and smoothly. "You're really smart" Madison is very impressed with you and tells you about herself. She's like most 15 year old white girl from 2007 that's into harry potter and avril lavigne. Should you take this date farther?

No you'll wait till next date. You had unrequited secret crush on Madison last life but you don't want to fully commit to her until your sure she's really the one and you can't know that from one date. You also regretted not going after Emily in your last life because she was your good friend and you might've made a better couple than her and Jacob. There's also Emma to consider. You and her had a short but happy time as boyfriend and girlfriend in senior year last time until you broke for a stupid reason. You're more mature now and you can wait and save yourself from making the same mistakes and regrets. "What're you thinking?" Madison is in front of you and requires your attention first. You attempt to recall the biggest movies of 2007 and select one for your next date with Madison.

Madison likes harry potter so taking her to Harry Potter 5 premier for your next date is safest bet. "I don't like how they used time travel in prisoners of azkaban because even small changes in the past should have major shift in the future because of butterfly effect" Madison unawarely says something that hits very close to home. What effects will your choices have on the future timelines? You think of goblet of fire. What if harry potter asked hermione to prom instead of parvati? The ending could've been very different and hermione could've married harry instead of her marrying ron. What wouldd happen if harry put more effort to parvati during prom or dated his first crush cho chang after robert pattinson's character was killed off at the end of the 4th movie? Time travel opens endless possibilities and you start comparing your new life to harry potter's. Madison was your first crush and Emily is your friend that married your other friend and Emma is your prom date that got away. Is there a Luna or a Ginny you'll meet later? You laugh because it feels weird to think your life in terms of harry potter but you are reliving your high school life after death that's weirder than magic isn't it? Anyway your first priority is making money. How're you doing at work?

You plan to get rich investing in bitcoins but it won't begin use until 2009 so you have to wait two more years before you can invest. For now apple stocks can be a very profitable investment because Steve Jobs announced the first iphone this year which was hugely profitable for apple. "Wait I'm a minor" you can't invest in stocks either because you're only 15 year old and you can't open a brokerage account until you're 18. So your options are to keep saving money in your account and invest it all in 2010 or find another way a 15 year old should spend his money.

Your dad cheated on your mom with a younger woman and it came out during the divorce and things turned ugly. You don't know if the stress of losing the house got to him and he turned to infidelity to cope or is he going to cheat on your mom this time too? Your life took a nosedive after your parents divorce and you wish they stay together this time but your mom deserves to know if your dad is a horndog in this life too. You can solve your future money troubles with good investments in the present but keeping your family from breaking apart is harder task. Another complication is your dad will be in control of your stock trading account until you're 18 so a divorce can mess with your investment plans. You consider your options while remembering your dad's mistress from last time.

Needless to say it was a huge scandal and ruined your relationship with your dad for good and you became estranged. You consider what you should do. Maybe you can prevent the divorce this time keeping your family together through the recession and your life more stable. But what if your dad is already cheating on your mom? She deserves to know the truth too. This is one of messy part of your life you tried to forget but you may have to see the divorce happen again unless your choices significantly change the future.

You'll keep your family together by any means. Your mom deserves to know the truth if your dad's cheating on her with his secretary but sometimes ignorance is bliss and what she doesn't know can't hurt her. You've also no proof or confirmation your dad is cheating on your mom in this life too. If you had proof you could've blackmailed your dad to give you more investment money in exchange for keeping his secret hidden from mom but without proof there's nothing to be done. You think about proof. This is 2007 so sexting isn't a thing but maybe they're exchanging steamy messages on their flip phones? You suddenly remember your dad's recurrent business trips and suspect he was taking his secretary with him maybe you can find receipts or catch them in the act this time but your priority is keeping your family together so even they're having an affair you can't tell your mom.

You aren't just trying to protect yourself you remember how bad the divorce fucked your little sister Olivia up. You can't let that happen to her again you have to keep your parents together even if your dad is cheating on your mom in this timeline too. But first you have to make money save your family from losing the house because that's where everything started falling apart. The great recession is coming and the housing bubble will burst soon. Is there anyway to benefit from the prior knowledge of the inevitable. "Who do you think will be our next president?" "The smart money is on rudy giuliani and hillary cllinton." You inwardly laugh at your friends and families political predictions because hindsight is 20/20. You suddenly think of what will happen if you go to senator obama and someway convince him not to run next year? Will America then have a rudy giuliani or hillary clinton or john mccain presidency? How much will the timeline change from the butterfly effect?

Trying to convince Obama to not run for president as some 16 year old is unlikely to work. And becoming president, even with knowledge of future events is probably not happening, especially when there’s changes not present in your original timeline.

Hmm… maybe you could change things in a different way.

On 16th of April, the Virginia Tech shooting occured, perpetrated by a korean guy that’s pretty retarded.

He stabbed a carpet in a room with people, took pictures of female students’ legs, stalked a girl just because he wanted to look at her eyes, wrote some nasty shit to the point of creeping out his teachers, and yet the school didn’t do anything.

He never got the help he needed (getting magdumped by an armed civilian or law enforcement) and several dozen kids paid the price for the negligence of the university.

It was the deadliest mass shooting till the 2016 orlando gay nightclub shooting.
That was the perfect moment for any gun grabbers to manipulate the masses to give up their rights.

You’re a 15 year old. Seung Hui Cho is 23. You’re barely able to pull the slide back on your dad’s pistol while that guy goes to the range a lot.

However, you can likely concoct some kind of story so that the swat teams would show up earlier.

If needed, you could call the authorities on your phone, but having a burner phone is probably the best way to avoid any complications, in case the feds try to retaliate for ruining their false flag ops in order to control the population.

(Cont.)

Getting a burner phone from a store is still too risky, but good thing you know a dealer - Joshua. He peddles random stuff for some money. Potato chips, burgers, fries, soda, alcohol, knives, phones, screwdrivers, he has it all.

Joshua… that asshole deceived everyone into thinking he’s some kind of saint, putting up a facade of friendliness that allowed him to control people.

In reality, he’s a disgusting skirt chaser with a silver tongue. While you don’t know what truly happened during his later years, there are rumors of him and his friends going round bars to try to pick up women.

He’s pitted the nearly everyone at prom against you when you tried to confront him about taking your girlfriend, jumpstarting your estrangement to people.

Joshua will be closing up shop tomorrow and take a day to restock his items.

>>Be a regular customer. Maintaining a decent relationship with him is useful.

>>Buy the phone then inform the teachers about his sale. His usefulness ends here.

You guys are thinking too small. Framing Joshua is harder than just recording it on videotape as he brags about what he does once iPhones come out.
You’re teenagers. Teenagers love having incriminating evidence on their phone,

Joshua and Jacob are going down.

A peddler like him isn’t stupid.

You arm yourself with a Phillips head screwdriver and a box cutter, both hidden in your hoodie’s sleeve and pocket.

Looking at the dusty screwdriver now feels you with regret. Hidden away among old books and random pens that barely work is a pristine tool.

A few years back, you noticed that your dad was complaining about his screwdriver being rusty. You stole a one from supermarket in the hopes of making him feel better.

That day never came. Mom and dad argued over some bullshit and you forgot about the screwdriver a few days later.

It will be useful now, at least.
One week before the shooting.
You got this.

You stuff old books into your bag and taping some to your skin, in case things get violent.

The morning passes as usual. The same old class. The same old subjects. The same uncaring eyes of both teachers and students.

It is lunch time once more.
You and your friends dump your bags on a table in the cafeteria.

You tell your friends to go order food without you. You’ve already asked Emily in the class prior if you could copy her homework.

With your friends out of the way, you reach for Emily’s bag and search for that textbook.

(Cont.)
>>
>>5398453
By laying the your and her textbook side by side, on top of the bags, it allows you to discreetly open up Jacob’s bag and slip the screwdriver hidden in your sleeve in it.

You make sure it’s inside a small pouch where he stores his candy bars.

The screwdriver is has more reach and is better at thrusting than a boxcutter, getting caught with it is a less justifiable.

Besides, you always had a boxcutter with you. Your classmates can confirm that.
They’ve seen how many times you had to cut up paper for people who forgot their notebooks.

After finishing your lunch, you head towards the upper floors of the school, where the (empty) computer classrooms are.

Joshua likes to set up shop here as teachers rarely come here. A janitor isn’t going to give a shit if kids are “doing their homework” in there as long as they aren’t using air conditioning for too long.

Your footsteps echo throughout the desolate stairways to the classrooms.

Ah. There he is.

Behind a fortress of books and pencil cases is that two faced asshole, Joshua.

He greets you like a close friend of his before asking about what you want to buy.

"A burner phone?"
"Sure dude. Fifteen bucks."

After taking your money, Joshua pushes a pencil case filled with burner phones towards you. Having a large selection of products is a good way of satisfying your customer, after all.

(Cont.)
>>
>>5398454
As you rummage through the pencil case trying to find which phone to choose, a stroke of genius occurred within you.

>>Jacob’s dangerous, man. He’s on edge lately. I’ve seen him threaten someone with a screwdriver because he got pissed off. Careful ‘round him.
Sow discord among the two.

>>[draw box cutter] Sorry dude. You need to stop selling this. They said you’re making them lose profits. Hand over all of it.
There’s more than Joshua that’s selling these items, but you don’t really know who. As long as be buys it, it’ll be good.

>>Talk about random stuff while grabbing a water bottle, then splash him in the face and run away with his pencil cases to inform the teachers.
Some will have weapons in them. Good enough for the teachers, you reckon.

>>Do nothing. Stay silent. Continue with the original mission.
You can send the teachers after him during the evening. No need to do anything brash right now.

Nah. Let’s stay silent for now.

You choose a burner phone of your choice and leave Joshua.

Maybe you could’ve threatened him then, or stole from him, but you don’t know what pencil case has knives or weapons, nor what he keeps in his sleeve.

Sending teachers after him during the evening seems to be the better idea. He’ll be expecting a few customers then.

Before the monotonous afternoon classes, you write several notes about Joshua in different handwriting, accusing him of selling weapons to gangs in the school and pointing out Jacob as an associate.

The last subject of day is history - a slog that has more than a few students skipping it due to the teacher mostly just reading what the textbook says.

For once, you decide to skip the class.
You cook up an excuse, looking around and asking for tissues from the classmates nearby.

After observing the halls that doesn’t have cameras watching them, you slide the notes into the offices.

Most of them end up at the Math and Science teachers’ offices, as they are relatively close to where your classroom is.

The teachers there are quite strict as well. If they can’t tolerate a kid being 5 minutes late to class, they certainly wouldn’t tolerate an arms dealer.

(Cont.)
>>
>>5401846
Finally, the class is over.

You meet up with your close friends once more, asking about the things you’ve missed while going to the toilet.

Emily say some random shit you can’t be bothered to care about.

Madison mention that there’s a quiz coming up next week.

Michael thinks that the history teacher will have the quiz immediately on the Monday morning class instead of Wednesday or Thursday.

Jacob doesn’t seem to care much either, and talks about how inconsistent the history teacher was in terms of grading homework.

All their expressions change when they see several teachers drag Joshua into an office. You pretend to be confused when they ask Jacob to come to the teachers’ office.

Listening to Madison’s voice tremble was something you wish you did not hear, but her actions are less important than yours.

Your friends leave the school.
Normally you would leave at the same time, but the amount of walking you did today made you hungry.

Might as well visit the mess hall. Some ice cream could be nice.

As you try walk up the stairs towards the mess hall, you see two older students stand in front of it. Two years older maybe, and slightly taller than you.

You try to move past them, nodding your head as you move to the left side of the stairs.

Both of them move to the left side of the stairs, blocking your path while smugly smiling about it.

Fucking cunts. You don’t even know them yet they want to get in your way for no reason at all.

You stand your ground. With a box cutter under your sleeve, you fear nothing.

After a minute or so, they leave.
You watch carefully as the two walk past you before heading up to the cafeteria.

A few stalls are still open, and you buy a scoop of vanilla ice cream to satiate your hunger.

Few students still remain in the halls, mostly finishing up a meal or dessert.

The walk back home was peaceful, but you kept watch of people regardless.

When you came back, Olivia asked you about what happened today as she heard her classmates talked about several students being punished.

"Joshua and Jacob got into a fight or something. Don’t really know much either."
You brush off the question and end the day like usual - doing the minimum amount of work needed and thinking about the future.

Saturday and Sunday passes.
You hear about what happened to Jacob and Joshua on Monday.

The two and several others were caught with weapons and prohibited items.
The scars of the Columbine shooting has not left the school - the students were expelled immediately and sent into juvenile detention.

You have irreversibly changed both of your close friends’ lives.

Maybe juvie will fuck them up, maybe they could still turn their lives back around, but one thing’s for sure, you can not expect them never trust you again. While Jacob might not know, Joshua could figure it out.

(Cont.)

For the next following week, you kept your eyes on everyone and weapons close to you.

You kept yourself close to your friends for most of the time during school, and tried to comfort them while they talk about their personal experiences on them.

Such words are meaningless, but you listen anyways to not antagonize them.

Eventually, 16th of April came.
First shooting will take place at 7.15 am in West Amber Johnston hall. 2 killed.
Second (and more lethal) shooting takes place at 9.40 am in Norris hall. 30 killed.

You get up at 6, with your burner phone in hand and several scripts of what you will say.

Right now, that asshole is leaving his dorm, heading towards the West Amber hall.

You’ve practiced talking in a deeper voice than usual, in order to sound like an adult.

You call as a concerned civilian.
You explain what the potential shooter was wearing, his facial features and the amount of weapons he was carrying.

The silence that follows weighs on you heavily. You wonder if you did a good enough job of explaining, whether or not your actions managed to stop the casualties, or if the timeline will still remain the same after this.

You figure you’ll worry about it later.

CNN and ABC news will put out their own anti gun narrative of the events in a few hours. But you can’t exactly stand FOX either. They’ll probably make it some asian immigration bullshit.

It’s a Monday. Better get dressed.

By the time you came back home, your dad is sitting on the couch, furious about those leftist news outlets.

Seung Hui Cho, an south korean student in Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University engaged in a shootout with police officers in West Ambler Johnston Hall. Five officers injured, one killed. Shooter killed. No civilian casualties.

However, something different occurred.

While this shooting still attracts considerable attention, the narrative changed. While the left leaning news outlet focuses on the access to guns, most of the public supported the law enforcement officers due to the police reporting that the university did not give them enough information about the locations of the shooting.

The White House released a statement about the situation, assuring the public that they will continue improving the law enforcement agencies.

Shit. That worked! You turned one of the most lethal mass shootings into a minor one, and shaped how the public viewed guns. Not bad for a 15 year old.

With the news reporting that a lone civilian alerted the police before the shooting, this incident became a powerful tool for gun rights groups, using this person as proof of the “good guy with a gun can stop bad guys” belief. If that person had a gun, he could’ve stopped it even before that shooter could hurt anyone.

Heh.

(Cont.)
>>
>>5409604
The ramifications of your actions didn’t become apparent at first, but the increased funding of the police made things different as the months pass.

The officers became well armed, well armored and a lot more nervous.

A steady increase in hatred of Asians grew, but primarily towards the Koreans.

You became closer to Madison, even kissing her a few times, and the job at McDonalds brought you a decent amount of cash.

Eventually, the Great Recession struck.

With a good portion of the Apple stocks and McDonalds’ pay you tried to help the family keep the house, but it still wasn’t enough.

Just a few thousand more.

Dad borrowed money from… someone and managed to keep the house.

You know he helped his mistress to siphon some money from her dickhead family and got a cut from it.

Marriage’s crumbling. Your mom seems to be one step closer to uncovering the secret relationship with each day passing.

It is 2009. You are a junior at the highschool, and the Great Recession has just ended. The hatred towards Asians and discontent of police officers eventually led to Obama being in office, by conjoining the blacks and Asians’ support for police reform.

Is this… it?
You saved the house, but mom and dad is becoming increasingly colder to each other.

You still have a portion of the apple stocks, but the money you could gain won’t be nearly enough to support you, your sister and the mistress.

Your plan to earn money quickly is to..

>>Take more part time jobs and invest more in stocks.
A legitimate venture, but this will be one of the more physically straining plans. You’ll have less time to study for university as well.

>>Sell weapons and other items in school, just like Joshua.
Less physically straining, but more dangerous. Then again, living honestly didn’t reward you in your last life.

>>Do other people’s projects and homework - for a price.
Time consuming, but not physically straining.

>>Manufacture drugs and weapons.
Fastest way to earn money. You once lived an honest life, and you died an early death. Fuck the world. You still remember how to make napalm and meth from watching videos of it.

Your plan is to be a millionaire in two years by buying 1 million bitcoin this year.
To achieve that, you’ll need 10 thousand dollars first.

In half a year, you could get enough money from the McDonalds salary.

In fact, you could drop out and work full time at McDonalds or other restaurants until your are able to sell your bitcoin. About one and a half years.

Problem is, approaching your parents about dropping out is going to be hard.
Your mom especially wanted you to get higher education. Dad is pretty neutral about it - understandable considering the costs.

Damnit. You might’ve had a decent chance at convincing her if you still had your original apple stocks. 6 thousand dollars is pretty good, but nowhere close to what you once had.

What’s the approach that will give you the best chance of success…?

Both. Don't talk about how we're a disappointment -- that will make Mom feel worse. Frane it as a responsible decision: Olivia is better at school, there's only so much money to go around right now, and frankly we don't WANT to go. You proposes that Olivia should continue her studies instead, as there isn’t enough money (right now) that can keep her in school and you in a college.

For the next few years, you want to work a full time job to help her out and also to invest in the stocks. It helped in saving the house, so it’s a pretty good back up plan.

After a few years, when the economy is better, you plan to continue your studies, likely pursuing a business related degree.

That’s what you told your mother, anyway.

Having a full time job also gives you an excuse to see your dad’s secretary a lot more often. Coming home late won’t be that unusual.

With some convincing from your dad, she eventually relents and accepts this new plan.

In terms of academia, the next year and a half went by relatively easy. You didn’t need to give much of a shit since you’re not applying for university anyways.

You came to like the part time job quite a bit, forming friendships with the other employees at work.

While the managers are quite strict, they were unable to follow up on most of their threats as long as the transgressions didn’t impact work. You had a lot of fun playing blackjack with your colleagues when the customers weren’t coming.

Even got revenge on a couple of retards and the karens by blaming ‘kids’ around there for throwing ice cream at the cars.

Despite occasionally having fun at work and school, your family was getting worse. Arguments and coldness became more common, causing shouting matches over minor inconveniences.

No matter what you did, or didn’t do, your parents somehow managed to turn every conversation hostile.

(Cont.)
>>
>>5415373
No matter.
It’s you, Olivia and the mistress that are important.

It’s your senior year.
Your friends become busier with each semester passing, studying for their SATs and school work.

It was fun being with them, you admit.

With your encouragement and teasing, Madison became more outgoing. She needs to more proactive to get ahead in life. It’s the least you could do to help her, anyways.

You hung out most with Micheal, playing flash games together during computer classes and talking about random things together. You’ll miss him a lot. Hopefully your optimism was enough to keep him from becoming a drug addict and overdosing.

As for Emma and Emily, you and Madison occasionally hung out with them, going out as a group for some after school desserts and talking about personal stuff.
It was tough knowing that you likely won’t see them that often ever again.

Goodbye, everyone.
After graduation, you occasionally look at the pictures you and your friends took together whenever you cannot give a shit about your parents anymore.

Maybe the days of eating ice creams and sodas together after school is over, but the happiness won’t easily fade away.

Now then, it’s time for your own personal life.

One year before you can become a millionaire and the divorce happens.
You’re a full timer at McDonalds now.

In the later half of senior year, you’ve gotten closer to your dad’s mistress/secretary, 'June'. She remains mostly distant, but occasionally offers some unprofessional advice that could be useful.

It’s quite surprising how easy it is to pretend to be smarter than you really is.
She even taught you how to pirate music safely!

You two bonded through shit talk clients on the phone during the later hours of the day.

As the days pass, your calls became less frequent and briefer than before. She wants to talk about non work related stuff, but you can tell June that she dedicates more of her time covering up her tracks.

Olivia isn’t doing well either even with your support. She rarely was as energetic as she once was, barely responding to stuff that happens in the household.

You decide to focus on..
>>Covering June’s tracks

You told June that you knew about the affair, but wants to help cover it up.

The situation at home is already shit - you don’t want it to be even worse.

June seems to regret this affair and was saddened that it affected you and Olivia, but you brush it off and demand ways to cover up her tracks.

While June and your dad deal with maintaining the illusion of a marriage, you manufactured countless lies in order to keep your mother from investigating your father at an inconvenient time and misdirecting her efforts to make her look paranoid.

Constantly stealing your mom’s phone and placing it some where else so that your dad can convince your mom that she’s too stressed to think clearly wasn’t something you wished to do, but your future calls for it.

You’ll save Olivia, no matter what. If mother stands in the way, she will be pushed out of the way.

But perhaps.. you pushed her too far.

Year is 2011. You are able to sell the bitcoin, earning millions of dollars.
You’ve deceived your dad and June into thinking that you only have around 15k dollars. A sizable amount, but it’s quite in line with what you had earlier.

Your relationship with June is way better than before, with you taking the lead in both ‘business related’ interactions and casual ones. She admires you for your ambition and ruthlessness.

One night, while coming home late from drinking with June, you noticed a strange sound from the second floor’s bedroom. Air conditioner must’ve leaked or something.

You draw a knife and silently approach.

It’s your mother, looking at old photos of her family.

Her wrists have long vertical cuts on them. They gush out blood like a faucet, staining the dark matress and wooden floor with scarlet, She must’ve cut herself a few minutes ago. Shit, did she figure out the affair? Did you pushed her over the edge because of your gaslighting?

What the fuck.
You need to do something.

>>Apply first aid to your mother

>>Pretend you didn’t see her
She’s an obstacle to our plot anyway.
With her gone, you can be with June more often.

>>Get Olivia out of the house before calling the paramedics

Shit.
You put your knife away and run towards your mother, trying patch up the vertical cuts on her wrists.

You pull out your phone and places it on the bed while wrapping any fabrics you could find in the bedroom around your mother’s wrists.

You had to shout the address to the operator more than a few times because your mother would scream and cry all throughout the process of being bandaged.

Well, the fact that she trusts you enough to not reject your help lets you know that she hasn’t figured out the gaslighting you did.

Your mother tries to apologize but her constant crying make it hard to understand most of her words.

While you are waiting for paramedics to arrive, Olivia walks upstairs and freezes when she sees the blood and you and her mother. Dammit.

Well, since she’s already here, might as well let her do something that could be useful.

You instruct your mother to sit on a chair and help Olivia to carry her down the stairs. It’s a lot easier to hold onto a chair rather than some slippery wet arms.

The three of you sit silently in the first floor living room while waiting for the first responders to arrive.

Bright lights and obnoxiously loud sirens signal the arrival of medical personnel.

It’s over, for now.

Olivia is shaking badly, slurring her words while asking about mom. You stay with her until she sleeps.

She’s gonna need therapy or some shit. You can’t let her be a drug addict. Good thing you can afford it.

You wash the blood off yourself and lie on your bed.

You can probably use this situation to…

>>Convince dad to divorce mom and get custody of Olivia.
Mentally, mom is not prepared to take care of Olivia and you. She’s too far gone now. At this rate, she could hurt people around her.

The jury isn’t likely going to trust a hysterical woman.

>>Maintain the family. Send her to therapy and counseling.
We’ve gone too far with her. The least we could do is make sure her mental health doesn’t deteriorate any further.

>>Talk to June.
Maybe she knows what to do.

You do your best in trying to keep the family together.

With your earlier investment in bitcoin, money isn’t a problem for therapy.

Of course, there’s more to therapy than having someone giving advice to mom and Olivia. Their family needs to assist them in their journey to recovery.

While your dad wasn’t heavily affected by her suicide attempt, June was.
She feels quite guilty, and you easily exploit her sense of morality and convince her to break off the relationship with your dad.

This is perfect! In just a few weeks, you are able to not only cut off your dad’s connection with her, but now you’ve become her trusted friend.

As for Olivia, you try to distract her with your past life’s hobbies instead.

Guiding your sister on how to play games proved quite difficult. She is barely able to remember the buttons under stress and certain game concepts that seemed rudimentary to you. With the exception of Minecraft, she wasn’t able to get into games.

She did enjoy watching you play Deus Ex: Human Revolution, though. You two had a good laugh whenever Adam Jensen slapped the shit out of some PMC or gangsters. You even managed to save Malik this time.

Movies were her preferred form of entertainment, and you taught her the art of piracy. Fucking Reddit of all places gave decent advice. Guess that piracy subreddit is pretty legit.

You’ll miss her a lot.

Since you’re 18, you decide to buy some property. Of course, being a landlord is difficult, especially when you’re this young.

That is where June comes in. With her experience, she suggested financial advisors and agencies to ensure that you aren’t paying more than necessary.

(Cont.)
>>
>>5420324
Rather than pursuing an education like your mother wanted, you were able to concoct a story you taught people how to play stocks during weekends and the amount of money you supposedly earned from them, and now you wanted to go full time on that instead.

You convince your parents that is was a job you enjoyed doing, and paid well. Without June pulling some strings, it would’ve not been possible.

It is nearly the end of 2011 now.
You are living in your own house, a few hours away from your parents.
You call Olivia a lot and send some money each month to the family.
June now works for you (although dad doesn’t know that), and you have a decent relationship outside of work, with her acting as your mentor and close friend
Financially, you are doing pretty well.
The renting business is pretty decent.

Life is going pretty well, but you’re still unsure about the nature of your relationship to June.

In just a few months, she helped you accomplish your dream and independence, risked her career several times, and understood you more than your parents or girlfriend.

What is she to you?

>>She’s a good friend.
June didn’t have to look after you, didn’t need to give a shit when your mom tried to commit suicide, but she did anyway, without any incentive. She’s a nice woman who made some mistakes, that’s all.

You want to continue hanging out with her.

>>She’s just like you. You only care about her physically.
June is a heartless bastard that cares only about herself. She stayed with dad only because she was paid, and when it looked like the marriage was falling apart, she was ready to jump ship. All that ‘goodwill’?
It was her trying to manipulate you into giving her money.

Both of you want you use each other for their own gain.

You don’t really know yet. She seems close to you, yet you can’t exactly trust her completely.

You decide to drink together with her and see what her intentions are.

If she’s interested in having kids or family, maybe you’ll pursue her romantically. Perhaps be a better parent than your dad?

If she’s interested in just money, going the friends with benefits route is probably the best option. Abortion is legal in Virginia. If she’s that much like you, she wouldn’t think twice about aborting children.

Ah shit, you forgot there was an attack on a Planned Parenthood clinic in 2007 in Virginia Beach. Dammit. Then again, the suspect wasn’t identified and you were a 15 year old then. It means nothing now. You can’t let yourself be bogged down by the past.

Since you’re under 21, and cannot get into a bar, You and June decide to do something equally as entertaining - watching drunk people leaving the bar.

With some drinks, of course!

You prepare yourself for the night.

Showered, shaved (both your facial and pubic hair), shitted, and applied some deodorant spray.

You wear a black undershirt with short arm sleeves and a dark blue hoodie over it. It’s thin enough to keep you cool, but the hoodie has quite a few pockets. For your lower body, you put on a black underwear and jeans.

A Sneaker with a simple black and white palette is your choice of footwear.

You also carry a fanny pack across your chest, filled with your everyday carry items. A decent powerbank, cables, tampons, condoms, a wallet, wet wipes and a few pens.

A fountain pen may look garish, but a thrust from it is quite powerful. You have a few back up pens as well. Those metal spike tips will penetrate less, but can be used repeatedly.

Tampons will serve as decent bandages. Pretty sure the military originally used them to absorb blood.

The condoms. They are quite stretchy, able to be used as gloves or shoe protectors in case of rain.

In your pockets of the hoodie holds a flashlight. Good for blinding threats so you could retreat or get a hit in with your pen.

And wet wipes are fucking awesome when you are sweating.

You meet up with June. Both of you have eaten dinner and just wanted to hang out.

She has a dark grey cap on her head, a denim jacket on top of her black shirt and jeans. She wears one of those non laced Sneakers.

On her back is a large backpack that that contains a mountain of alcoholic drinks.

Fuck.. that shirt hides her chest so well.

You two meet up at a coffee shop that has windows overlooking the bars.

Since this is a public place, you and June can only get away with low percentage alcohol. June is carrying several dozen glass bottles which contains Smirnoff alcoholic soda.

The staff doesn’t really give a shit as long as they aren’t making a disturbance and are ordering some food. People staying in coffee shops late at night to do work or other stuff is typical, after all.

During the early hours of the night, there’s not really that much people, and you and June end up watching some pirated movies together while eating some overpriced dessert.

Huh. You never really had the chance to share your earphones with other people. Kinda feels.. personal. Sure beats a movie date in terms of price.

'Pirates of the Caribbean sucks now.
Why the fuck is Jack Sparrow being forced into the plot?' June voices her displeasure about the movie.

"Yeah. The opening was kinda slow."
"That mermaid sea thing was cool, though."
You sort of agree with her opinion.

'Yeah definitely. That was some creepy shit.'

When the people start coming into the bars, June scrounges through her bag and asks for your preferred flavor of drink before pouring it into a paper cup filled with ice.

While watching retards get denied entry and tough guys get shut down was funny, one moment stood out from the rest.

Some guy was thrown out with his pants half way down, stained in shit.

He took only a few more steps on the pavement before shit starts spewing out from his anus.

When his friends tried to help him up, they didn’t see the shit stains on the floor and all four of them slipped nearly at the same time.

You and June made a bet on which person is going to touch that trail of shit next, with the loser having to drink a shot.

By the end of it all, you racked up 5 losses and June got 3.

Eventually the shit stains were cleaned by some poor guy that worked for the bar.

As the excitement dies down, you ask June about her future, and what she values.

She goes silent for a while.
She thinks that she’ll focus on money for now. She doesn’t really like the idea of starting a family, as her own is rather obnoxious to deal with already, and she doesn’t want to deal with them in the future.

And besides, her job means that maintaining relationships is going to be hard due to the lack of time together.

While she can’t exactly admit to siphoning her family’s money in public, she does talk about her parents’ dissatisfaction towards her.

It doesn’t matter what she did or did not do. No matter what choices she chose, what she said or did not say, they were always hostile towards her.

Even minor things like shopping will be done THEIR way, no matter how ineffective, or inefficient.

Regardless of situations, when she retaliated after being yelled at, it resulted in more scolding and arguments. Doesn’t matter how good her points, they still think of her as a spoiled child.

It’s tough to care when your choices are meaningless and her parents’ words of encouragement are betrayed by their every day actions.

'Sorry about all that. I shouldn’t bother you with-'

"No. It’s okay to talk about things like this."
"You mean a lot to me, June."
"I don’t want you to feel like shit."
"It’s okay to cut them off. Some people aren’t worth being around."

You rest your hand on her shoulder.

After some more silence, she asks you to clarify on what you meant about 'mean a lot to her'. It’s hard to tell if that was meant in a romantic or a friendly way.

You meant it in a romantic way.

She considers it, but she doesn’t like the idea of a romantic relationship due to the fact that a break up might happen and fracture their workplace relationship.

June does mention that you look nice.
If her job was different, she might date you if you were older.

You reaffirm that you still want to be with her, and suggest a more physical relationship instead.
No feelings.
No time commitments.

She chuckles and wonders why would someone like you are interested in a woman who is nearly 30 years old.

Because that nearly 30 year old woman has helped you countless times, understood you and taught you better than anyone ever did. If you cannot be in a romantic relationship with someone like that, then maybe making her happy briefly is good enough for you.

She’s quite stunned by all this and says she wants some more time to think about all of this.

While June is thinking it over, you notice some jackasses trying to talk to women who just came outside of the bar while putting their hands on them unprompted.

When they try to push the guys away, they still wouldn’t leave until they just ran.

You alert June to this.

Fuck.
Why the hell am I doing this?
What was I thinking?
This kid.. this… guy is like almost ten years younger than me!
He shouldn’t be in a relationship with some failure like me.
I fucked up his parents’ marriage and-

What?
Those three assholes.
I can’t let that pack of dogs rape a woman.
If I let them go, who knows how many women they would hurt in the future.

June decides to..

>>'Stay in here. I’ll handle this alone' [Draw Baton]
Extendable baton isn’t lethal, but it’ll hurt. Maybe these guys won’t pull this shit again if they’re injured.

I can’t let him get hurt.

>>'Stay in here. I’ll settle this alone' [Draw pistol]
Technically it’s illegal to conceal carry without a permit, but June didn’t grew up in the best of places.

No mercy should be given to these motherfuckers. I let them go, they might take revenge on me or come more prepared next time.

>>Go together. [Give him a bottle, draw baton]
Their lives are in danger.
Let’s teach these fucks a lesson.

>>Go together. [Give him a knife, draw pistol]
Their lives are in danger.
Dogs get put down.

What was our old life like, that we are worried about getting into pen duels or needing to use condoms to hold our shoes? And we're a millionaire now... We don't need to live like this.

Anonymously, from a safe distance.
If we start a fight and lose, we get killed by drunk randos. If we win, we make unnecessary enemies or go to jail for manslaughter. Better to call the cops and let them handle it.

It’s safer if she stays back.
Even if she won, and executed them, she might get arrested because of the staff here snitching.

June has several weapons on her right now, but her phone is probably the best one to deploy.

She ask that you pretend to play with your phone while actually recording their actions.

You put your earphones on and adjust the phone to see what the guys are doing while having a careless expression on your face.

June went to the bathroom to call the police.

While recording the three assholes, the women managed to escape.

They yell and say some insults before standing around some more.
Just a bunch of stray dogs, walking around, aimlessly.

A minute later, another girl walks out of a bar.

She seems to be occupied with calling someone, but those three guys try to talk to her anyways.

Even when they try to surround her, she continues to not care.

One man wearing a jacket walks casually outside of the same bar. His demeanor changes immediately when he sees that woman being surrounded.

Wordlessly, he walks towards the group and repeatedly thrusts something in his hand into one of the guy’s lower back.

He screams and falls to the floor.

The second guy turns to look at his friend but his throat gets grabbed and thrown into into the pavement, landing on his back.

The third guy tries to run away, but the jacket wearing man tackles him and rapidly stabs him in the nape and torso.

The girl jumps on the second guy’s neck, landing both her shoes on his adam’s apple, causing his body to shake from the force.

The first guy is still yelling, unable to stand up. Pools of blood leaks onto the pavement, barely able to be seen under the darkness.

His head is grabbed by the jacket wearing man.

June returns from the toilet, saying that the police are notified and will come soon.

She returns just in time to witness the jacket wearing man forcing the first man to open his jaw, biting the corners of the pavement before his head gets stomped into.

His teeth and pink flesh explodes from his jaw, drenching the stone in crimson.

The two flicks their hands in disgust after executing these men and drive off, their car becoming nothing more than a few bright dots among the countless buildings and signs that are illuminated during the night.

It was ten or twenty minutes before the police showed up.

June convinced you to not say anything when the police questioned you,
but to send the video anonymously through a ghost account.

The police spent a few hours at the coffee shop, asking everyone about the incident.
The people in the club spent a lot longer being questioned.

By the end of it all, you were exhausted.

You and June go back to her place, as it was closer to the coffee shop and yours.

You rest your head on her shoulder and sleep while on the taxi.

You’ve seen a lot of gore, but it’s an entirely different thing to witness it first hand.

She wakes you up when the car has stopped.

Both June and you are far too exhausted to do anything besides sleeping.

You wake up in June’s bed.

According to June, you fell asleep in the living room and she carried you there.

Heh. That’s cute.

Still, you can not let go of what happened.

Yesterday was pretty fucked up.
Even with your knowledge, even with your money, even with people by your side,
it can all end because some jackass got pissed off.

Wealth and relationship (with June and Olivia, anyway) are going pretty good right now, but safety is now your main concern.

Witnessing the events changed you to..

>>Train in firearm usage
Primarily using and carrying pistols, but proficiency of rifles, PCCs, or shotguns could come in handy.

>>Train in unarmed combat
Boxing, grappling, forms of martial arts, you want to learn them all.

>>Train in knife fighting and melee weapon usage
Knives are simple weapons that can be used as tool. Additionally, it’s good exercise.

>>Train in first aid
Maybe you won’t get into a fight, but you’ll definitely get hurt occasionally. In such circumstances, keeping wounds from being more severe will be more useful.

>>Train in parkour and running
Aside from giving yourself a better chance of getting out of dangerous situations, it will keep you in shape.
