We have to make this legal.
While having crime connections could allow us to make some big plays during and after the recession, it's not worth it when we have a plan to make it rich once it's over.
We have no criminal experience, it just isn't worth it gambling our do-over for this. We don't need that much saved away. As in, we can literally just stay on watch for the first appearance of bitcoin, then set up a computer or three as miners, or buy bitcoin from other people. We'll have to make it a bit subtle, but it's easily doable as a joke.

If anything, I'd be up for trying to remember which banks didn't fold during the crisis, and maybe trying to get our parents to switch the mortgage over, or take out a loan with them to pay back our current one so they don't get screwed?

While the managers are quite strict, they were unable to follow up on most of their threats as long as the transgressions didn’t impact work. You had a lot of fun playing blackjack with your colleagues when the customers weren’t coming.

Despite occasionally having fun at work and school, your family was getting worse. Arguments and coldness became more common, causing shouting matches over minor inconveniences.

No matter what you did, or didn’t do, your parents somehow managed to turn every conversation hostile.

You pull out your phone and places it on the bed while wrapping any fabrics you could find in the bedroom around your mother’s wrists.

You had to shout the address to the operator more than a few times because your mother would scream and cry all throughout the process of being bandaged.

Well, the fact that she trusts you enough to not reject your help lets you know that she hasn’t figured out the gaslighting you did.

Your mother tries to apologize but her constant crying make it hard to understand most of her words.

While you are waiting for paramedics to arrive, Olivia walks upstairs and freezes when she sees the blood and you and her mother. Dammit.

Well, since she’s already here, might as well let her do something that could be useful.

You instruct your mother to sit on a chair and help Olivia to carry her down the stairs. It’s a lot easier to hold onto a chair rather than some slippery wet arms.

The three of you sit silently in the first floor living room while waiting for the first responders to arrive.

Bright lights and obnoxiously loud sirens signal the arrival of medical personnel.
