Saiyans. Known throughout the universe as the warrior race, their power and combat prowess proved invaluable in the Covenant's downfall. And with the largest threat to the PTO destroyed, their remnants scattered across space, the universe has been united under one banner. Peace reigns across the galaxy, under the rule of Lord Freeza, Emperor of the Universe. But not all wish it to be this way. Remnants of those who were conquered are gathering in the shadows, increasing their power, and plotting their revenge. Despite this newfound age of peace swiftly spreading across the stars, there are those who would seek its end. Will you be able to stop them, or shall the universe once more be plunged into the fires of war?

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest! This story takes place in an alternate timeline within the greater Dragonball EU. You the players control Karn: once an ordinary Saiyan warrior with a meager powerlevel of 2,830 who has risen to become a mighty Berserker Super Saiyan, and so much more. Throughout your many adventures, the “Dragon of New Salda” has grown into the symbol of Saiyan might and power, widely recognized across the universe as Freeza's close friend and confidant, not to mention his right hand man and General of his forces. From humble beginnings on the now long gone Planet Vegeta, Karn has become the pride of his people, and their greatest champion.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

Karn and Broly paid a visit to Chilli's world just as the village he lives in was attacked by several dragons. Karn gave him the ancient weapon he'd found, but surprisingly he was hesitant to use it. Instead Chilli decided to show off the fruits of his labor, unleashing his magical powers. After the battle, Karn and Broly joined Chilli in processing the dragons and bringing it all to the shop he works with Megumin's father. After leaving his world behind, Karn and his family all joined Towa in her realm. After spending some time with his kids he confronted his alone daughter Chaya. Who loses control of her temper, raging to the point her power runs wild. As we rejoin Karn, you've calmed your raging daughter down, Chaya passed out in your arms.

“Karn, what's going on?” Towa asks, as she and Meloka suddenly appear beside you. Your wife lowers her right hand from her forehead, Towa taking her right hand off of Meloka's left. “I saw a tremendous energy spike coming from your daughter.”
“What happened?” Meloka asks you, her eyes full of worry. “What happened to Chaya?”
“Her anger went out of control.” you tell them, looking down to your daughter in your arms. “Something's wrong with Chaya. She's dealing with a lot of anger and it all boiled over at once. She lost herself to it and went on a rampage, but I got her to wear herself out on me instead of attacking her siblings. So it's worked out, for now at least.”

“Worked out? I don't think you understand just what she tapped into.” Towa says, a hint of worry in her voice. “She was burning her life and soul by tapping into that power.”
“She WHAT?” you ask, suddenly incredibly concerned. “What do you mean?”
“That power can't be obtained normally.” she answers, looking your now-sleeping daughter over. “But if one has had sufficient contact with divine energy, it can be obtained. However, it isn't a 'complete' transformation. Think of it more like that 'False Super Saiyan' state your kind can access, except as a halfway point between Super Saiyan and 'Blue', like Ace uses.”
“No, what was that about burning her life and soul?” you ask her, your fears not lessened in the slightest. “My daughter didn't hurt herself, did she?”

“Heh. You mortals always get worked up whenever someone mentions your souls. As if it is something fragile.” she says, shaking her head. “Your soul is what you are, but it isn't some limited thing. It can take damage, be used as fuel for certain abilities and spells, and even regenerates over time. Like your ki, magical reserves, or anything else. Your son, Chilli. His soul was damaged heavily by what happened to him, but his has been healing and recovering well. Such a thing used for as little as she did won't even affect her by the time she leaves here.”

“That's a relief.” you say, looking back down at your sleeping daughter's face. But still, you feel uneasy with what happened. You aren't sure why she's exploding with anger all of a sudden, is she still this worked up over her loss? Or is it something else also getting to her that she hasn't told you? Either way, not much you can do about it now.
“Meloka and I will take her to a bed, so she can sleep this off.” Towa tells you. “You still have more to do today, right?”

“You're right.” you say, handing Chaya over to Meloka then raising your right hand to your forehead refocus your ki sense on who is where.

Ace and Broly are still together, probably in the same location they've been in since arriving. Okira and Koruza are still spending time together, meanwhile Chilli and Caulifla are still with the being known as Cell. No doubt learning some new technique from him. With that found out, Towa and Meloka leaving the room, you decide to visit with Broly and see what he and Ace have been up to. Focusing your ki sense on his ki signature to the exclusion of the others, you use your Instant Transmission to once again teleport. You reappear beside your son, his emerald aura shining around him in his version of your Energy Body, but immediately feel intense gravity slam down on your shoulders. The gravity is even more intense than what you'd trained with Maza at, your knees buckling a bit before you catch yourself.

“Gah!? Wh-What the hell?” you exclaim, then your instincts scream at you that you're in danger. So without hesitation you leap directly backwards, narrowly dodging a spinning disc of cutting ki. It almost cuts you across the waist, but you avoid it just enough to avoid being cut. However, as you leap back, you see the blade headed directly at Broly! Oh no! “BROLY!”

But your son doesn't move, his dense energy shrouding his body as the disc cuts through the air directly at him. You watch as the disc slams into your son's chest, but to your surprise he isn't cut. Instead his Energy Body is too dense for the attack, Ace's cutting disc shattering against your son's armor!

“Woah.” you mutter, landing back on your feet. Broly sighs out, his energy fading.
“You okay?” Ace asks with a whisper, you turning and seeing the young man is still in his base form. From the way he moves, this level of gravity that you're feeling doesn't even affect him, his movements almost weightless.
“Dad? You okay?” Broly then asks, a worried look on his face. “You didn't get hit, did you?”
“Nah, your old man's a little faster than that.” you reply, turning to Ace and giving him a small nod to show no hard feelings. He nods back, visibly relaxing as you turn back to Broly. “So what's this? Seeing how strong your Energy Body is?”

“Yes.” your son replies, you noticing he's also not wearing the armor he'd shown up in but one of the training suits made here. “We were training earlier, as I was curious just how much gravity this form could withstand. But after that we got to talking about our techniques, and we were both curious how strong this Energy Body really is.”

“Well, it should be powerful.” you tell him, activating your Unmovable Energy Body then continuing to 'talk' to them both via telekinesis. “After all, you're putting everything you are and all of your power against their attacks.”
“It is a good technique. Reminds me of this.” Ace says with his small voice, crossing his arms and using the Super Guard technique you saw Maza use earlier as you relax your own shield. He remains in his defensive stance for several seconds, then the quarter-dome of azure energy quickly fades away. “But what impresses me most is your control.”

“My control?” Broly asks him, Ace nodding.
“I've seen a few different versions of you, throughout several timelines.” Ace says, voice still barely above a whisper. “But with Karn here to teach you and treat you as his own, you've not lost yourself to this power. Most versions of you went mad with this power and rampaged wildly until defeated by a Goku, were absorbed by Majin Buu, or stolen from your timeline by another Towa and used as a weapon against the Time Patrol. But you all are different.”

At this he looks down at his hand, clenching his fist as he continues, more force behind his voice.

“Seeing how he raised you to control this power, I knew you all weren't bad people.” he says, now looking up at you. “But with the Supreme Kai of Time's mind control compelling me to fight, I couldn't say no to her orders despite knowing they were wrong. The things she made us, made ME do, all in the name of the 'greater good'. But what's worse is I can't remember. Who I was or what my life was like before joining the Time Patrol is all gone. Ace is all I am now.”

Well? What now?

“What matters now is not what or who you were.” you tell him, trying to pat him on the shoulder. But with the enhanced gravity your hand crashes against him hard enough to set your palm stinging. However he doesn't seem to notice, eyes meeting your own without even wincing at the contact. “The past is the past and we can't change that. Not with her around anyways. What really matters is not who you were, but who you ARE. What you choose to do going forward from here on defines who you are.”
“I...I see.” he says looking down at his hands once more. He then clenches his fists, you sensing his body tense up a bit. “You're right. The past is gone, what matters is what I do going forward. And what I'm going to do is get revenge on her for stealing my life from me.”

“That's the spirit.” you tell him, patting him on the back. This time your hand actually seems to affect him, sending the younger man staggering forward a step. “I'll be counting on you to look after my family here. So do your best.”
“I will.” he replies, a confident look on his face. “Don't worry. Ever since I've been here, with Chaya to spar with and Towa's science for the perfect power-increasing workouts, my power is climbing faster than ever. There's no way either of us will lose to the Time Patrol now. Even Gogeta is no match for either of us.”
“Are you gonna join us?” Broly asks, you shaking your head.
“Not yet, don't want to stay in the way.” you tell him, raising your right hand back to your forehead. “Besides, I still haven't spent time with all of your half siblings yet, kiddo.”

“Okay.” he says, you once more raising a hand to your forehead with a nod of understanding. Focusing your ki sense, you easily find both Koruza and Okira, the two Stand users still off somewhere by themselves. So you lock onto Koruza's much larger ki signature, then with a moment's effort use your Instant Transmission once more. Leaving Broly and Ace to their training and skill testing, you appear behind your youngest half-demon child only to witness a rather unusual sight. His rather menacing looking Stand Dark Rider is taking long strides around the room, your young daughter Okira on its shoulders and laughing aloud. Koruza' Stand, surprisingly enough is smiling at her laughter, looking rather pleased with itself. Neither of them seem to have noticed you yet either.

So what do you do?

While we wait, I got to thinking.
That near-miss with the Destructo Disc earlier must have been at least the tenth time we used Instant Transmission and almost ate a deadly attack.
We've really gotta figure out a way to make sure we aren't popping directly in the line of fire when we do that unannounced.
>>
>>5385493
Yeah, the only major flaw of teleporting wherever you want is not knowing where you're teleporting looks like. Maybe we activate energybody before teleporting? Should save us from most grisly attacks that pop up out of nowhere.
>>
>>5385495
Or we could just telepathically tell them we're coming before we teleport
>>
>>5385516
I considered doing that, but if we're teleporting to somebody who needs to maintain their concentration for whatever reason, that'd be extremely annoying.

For a split second you're tempted to see if your youngest half-demon son has the same instincts you do, if he can sense the blood lust of others trying to sneak up on him. But your youngest daughter laughs again and you're unable to do so. So instead, you relax yourself, keeping absolutely silent and taking in the scene before you for as long as you can. You've never seen her as excitedly laughing as she is now, and seeing the smile on her face you wouldn't interrupt this for the world. So you keep watching on silently, enjoying the sight of your daughter having fun.

She laughs while holding onto Dark Rider's horns, riding its shoulders as the tall Stand takes long strides around the room. As it walks, Koruza's Stand leans its head from side to side, leaving her hanging on to avoid falling. But as he does, every time her laughter increases in volume. Her Stand as well, Imagine Dragons, seems rather pleased as well with both mouths grinning. Around and around the room Dark Rider goes, the Stand clearly noticing you. But seeing you're not interfering, it continues playing with Okira without addressing you.

“Dad? How long have you been here?” Koruza asks you, not looking around and keeping his gaze on Okira.
“Not long.” you reply, watching her laughing with infectious mirth. “Not long enough.”
'Huh?” he asks, not knowing what you mean by that. But you don't clarify, watching Okira happily laughing without a care in the world. He doesn't press it, then after a few moments speaks up again. “I can sympathize with her. I know what it's like to feel alone, with no one understanding a large part of you. Being the only Stand user here, when there are so few of us in the first place is really isolating. I've missed you.”

“Missed you too, kiddo.” you say, reaching out and ruffling his hair with your left hand. Which is longer than you remember it being, his long white hair just as straight as his siblings' and mother's. “So, -”

Well? What do you want to talk with him about first?

"-How are you and Dark Rider getting along?"
"We're doing well." he says with a small smile. “After all, when you, Cauli, and Okira aren't here, the only one who can see Dark Rider is Chaya. But, well... After last time, she's been hesitant to even look at my Stand, much less talk.”

You look back to Dark Rider, smiling while holding your laughing daughter on its shoulders, and have to force yourself to remember what happened the first time Koruza's Stand awakened. Leaving Future Chaya a quivering mess on the ground, reduced to powerlessness by Dark Rider's ability and forcing Towa to flee from her own son's power. Such a frightful experience would have no doubt left its mark on her.

“That's rough.” you say, trying to figure out why your Chaya doesn't have a Stand but this one does. Then you remember what you'd learned, how Chaya had acquired her Dragon Force from the you in her timeline, just before his death and she went to live with Towa. “Doesn't she train her Stand with you?”
“No. Once she discovered that her Stand weakens her body, making her much more susceptible to damage, she's refused to use it.” he tells you, shaking his head. “Even out on missions she almost never uses it, just bringing it up when there's another Stand defending its user, she has to punch through to get the win.”

“I see.” you say, pondering if you should say something to Future Chaya about this while still watching your daughter having fun. But before you can, someone notices you.
“Daaaa!” Okira shouts, smile still on her face as she finally notices you. “Look!”
“Hahaha, I see you up there.” you reply, her joy infectious and making your own face break out in a wide smile too. “What're you doin?”

She only laughs in answer, Dark Rider taking her around the room again before coming to a stop beside the two of you. Your daughter then reaches out towards you, Dark Rider gingerly picking her up off its shoulders and handing her over, you debate a second before placing her now on your shoulders as well. Which she clearly enjoys, settling into place as the dark Stand stretches and massages the back of its neck.

“Hard on the neck, aren't they?” you ask Dark Rider as Okira grabs two handfuls of your hair to balance herself, the giant Stand chuckling a bit in its deep, gravelly voice.
“I'd rather not have any of my own.” it replies good naturedly, you hear its neck cracking as it works to loosen itself back up from being a riding mount. It then turns to look at Koruza, an almost-annoyed look on its face as it addresses him. “No. You can't do the same.”

“I wasn't going to say anything.” your youngest half-demon son poorly lies, putting both hands behind his head and looking away guiltily. Dark Rider snorts at this, about to say something else, when suddenly Towa's voice rings out.
“Supper time, everyone.” she says, you looking around towards the source and seeing a small, almost invisible speaker box up in one of the room's corners. “Power down the chambers and let's eat.”
“About time, I'm hungry.” he says, walking to the doorway. “Let's go.”

You follow Koruza, Dark Rider bringing up the rear as the four of you leave the room behind, walking through the maze-like layout for well over four minutes before finally coming to a large set of double doors. He then walks up, without hesitation begins pushing both doors open. They seem far heavier than they first appeared, Koruza struggling a bit with them. But he manages, pushing them open to the width of his outstretched arms. You follow behind, having to turn a bit to fit through the smaller gap, but make it into the room just fine. Dark Rider walks up to stand beside you, between you and Koruza, looking you over questioningly. It seems to almost be judging you, eyes narrowing as they go to your right arm.

Well? Do you address this? Or let Koruza's sentient Stand make the first move?

"You're wondering why Divine Dragon Force isn't coming out, right?" you ask, the Stand nodding once. "I was in a battle with the Abyss a few days ago. Then I had to use my Stand's Wish power."
"A wish?" Koruza and Dark Rider ask simultaneously, everyone in the room turning towards you curiously.

“Okay, so here's what happened.” you start, explaining to your half-demon children, as well as your own children who weren't there what happened during your battle with the Abyss. Over the meal Towa had apparently prepared you tell the tale of what happened during the battle, leaving no details out. Your half-demon kids, and even Future Chaya all listen in rapt attention, hanging off your every word as you tell the tale. Caulifla interjects with what happened while you were teleported away, how she and Triumph merged into her blazing form. As she says this Broly, who's sitting beside her edges away slightly. No doubt remembering her cooking him the day your old man Tatsu died. You explain about coming face to face with the Abyssal terror, the Dark-destroying sword left back in the sand, and how you used Divine Dragon Force's power to wish yourself back.

“Why didn't you just wish for the sword to come to you?” Maza asks?
“Why didn't you wish that monster dead?” Milha asks as well, but Koruza and Dark Rider remain silent.

“That's the downside to Divine Dragon Force.” you tell everyone, looking down at your hand. “It is quite powerful, powerful enough to even take down the Supreme Kai of Time. But when I use that Wish, my Stand goes completely dormant. I can't summon him back until he's recharged from the wish.”
“Just like Triumph.” Caulifla calls out, summoning her dormant Stand in her hands. Okira, Future Chaya, Koruza and Dark Rider all look at her Stand's sphere form, while everyone else looks to her for a moment before returning their gaze to you.
“And how long does this take?” Maza asks you. “Is it a few days, weeks, months, or...?”
“I don't know.” you tell him, shaking your head. “I've not had Divine Dragon Force recover on its own yet. The first time, right after that fight for the amulet took place on New Salda and I was sent into another dimension, a lion-man called Ajani restored Divine Dragon Force for me from the first wish I'd made to defeat that bastard Truth's Lyin Eyes Requiem.”

“So that is what happened.” Towa says, you turn towards her confused. “I tried to observe your battle on High Charity against the Prophets, after you told me what happened. But that bit of history is just...gone.”
“Gone?” you ask her, confused. “What do you mean?”
“I mean it doesn't exist anymore.” she answers, her own expression concerned. “Usually, whenever you make a choice, you create several branching timelines with each one. And when time travel happens, it creates even more branching paths. But your battle with Truth, as far as history is concerned, never even happened.”

“Never happened.” you say, more to yourself than to her as you think back. To the desperation, the hopelessness that Lyin Eyes Requiem imposed. But hearing her words, you do know at least one thing for sure: she confirmed for you that undoing the whole battle was the right choice. Lyin Eyes Requiem now never existed, except in your memories. And that's where it should stay, forever.

The rest of the meal is uneventful, then the kids all start heading to their own beds. Leaving just you, Towa, and Meloka in her bedroom.

“Now then, where were we earlier?” Towa asks, and with a gesture drops all three of your clothes off. You enjoy a rather pleasant evening with the two women, eventually falling asleep and sleeping the rest of the night in a deep, unbreakable slumber. Night then eventually turns today, your eyes slowly opening to find yourself on your back, Towa clinging to your left side while Meloka's back is pressed to your right, her arms wrapped around your arm while pressing herself to you. As you lay there, relaxing in the calm and quiet, you think over what to do next. You do only have a week here, after all, before you have to go back to your own timeline for another month. And while you will spend at least some time with each of your kids, you won't be able to split your time equally. Will you?

So how do you split your time?
>Try and be as equal with your time amongst the three half-demon kids and Future Chaya
>Future Chaya, see what she's been up to and how she's progressing
>Maza, try and instill your reasons for fighting in him as much as he's inherited your drive to get stronger
>Milha may be a little eccentric, but that doesn't make her a bad kid or anything. Try and find out what other hobbies she has other than her curses
>Koruza and Dark Rider get the least socialization out of your half-demon kids, so they need your attention the most
>You're still worried about Chaya, try and get time alone with her to work out what's wrong between spending time with your other kids

Even if our approach is flawed, it's the right thing to do.
Past that, we just have to trust in our instincts to see the problems that may arise, and hope we have the ability to deal with them as they come.

You may not be able to, but that doesn't mean you won't try your hardest to be there for each and every one of them. You start each day you spend there with Milha, your daughter eagerly testing her painful and debilitating curses against you each morning. After recovering from this you'd eat breakfast with everyone before heading off to train with Maza, pushing your Ascended Berserker form's limits alongside his Primal Demon form. Then after this you'd spend time with your own timeline's kids before lunch, taking them through their training. Just because they're visiting with family doesn't mean that they can skip out, after all.

However, each day you can see Chaya pulling further and further away from everyone else. Your eldest daughter of your timeline, usually the most outgoing and talkative turns quiet and subdued, not standing out or making herself noticed. By suppertime on the fourth day, you come to a shocking realization. You haven't actually heard her talking once in the last few days. When you'd realized this you'd asked her what was wrong, but she'd deflected.

“Everything's fine. Don't worry about me, you have more important stuff to do.” she'd told you, not raising up to meet your gaze. “I can see you whenever I want back home, so spend as much time with Maza, Milha, Koruza, and Future Chaya as you can. I'm lucky, but they don't get you as much as they deserve.”
“That's true, but something's off with you.” you told her, placing your hands on either of her shoulders. “So tell me kiddo, what is it?”
“Nothing.” she evaded again, once more not looking in your eyes. “Just leave it alone. I don't need any more help.”

She'd then pulled free of you and taken off, leaving you debating with yourself on whether you should chase her or not. So after a few seconds of mental debate you'd sent her a short telepathic message, telling her if she wanted to talk about anything you're here to listen. But she never took you up on that offer.

Despite Chaya's foul mood, everyone else seems to be greatly enjoying themselves. Especially the half-demon children, who by the end of the fifth day seem almost like different people with how happy they all are. Even the normally reserved Maza is wearing a smile every day, like he'd always had when he was much younger. Meloka and Towa are even getting along quite well, after the first day and your wife reaffirmed her boundaries with the taller, softer woman. But despite all this good, you still feel unease in your heart.

Perhaps it's Chaya, or perhaps it is your instincts looking for threats, but you can't truly relax. And before you've even realized it, a whole week has passed. These seven days passed by peacefully, you enjoying having your entire family all together in one place. Such good times, however, are not to last forever, as you all have to return to your own timeline.

“Leaving already?” Tatsu and Tomi asks simultaneously, both seeming incredibly disappointed. That disappointment is mirrored across all of your children, even with the more stoic young men Maza and Broly. “Why can't we stay?”
“Unfortunately, any longer and you'll begin to 'wear' our timeline on you.” Towa explains, also seeming disappointed but far better at hiding it than the children. “And we can't have the Supreme Kai of Time following that energy signature back to our timeline here, and ruining our second home.”
“Speaking of threats, something tried attacking that barrier I'd put on the Abyssal portal.” Chilli says to Towa and you telepathically. “Whatever it was was repelled, but it actually left a mark on the seal. So I redoubled it, and added a little something extra to it as well. The next thing that tries to come through is in for a nasty surprise.”

“You-You got in there?” Towa asks him, you sensing her incredulity through the three-way mental link. “How? I put enough traps on that to-”
“Crystal magic.” he replies aloud with a smirk and a wink, Towa almost pouting at his ability to one up her in something. “You'll be able to see it on the camera, next time we're here let me know what you think.”
“Oh, I most certainly will.” she replies, with a grin, then [/]thinks to you, “I wonder where he got this cocky attitude from?”
“Must have been his mother.” you also reply telepathically, Towa chuckling at this as Churai appears at Towa's side. Which brings a good question to mind, as you hadn't seen her around since the first day: where does she spend all day?

“Come back soon Daddy. I'll have all sorts of new and interesting spells to try out.” Milha says, smiling just a bit too widely to be talking about inflicting pain like that.
“Yeah, hopefully Divine Dragon Force will be awake next time. Triumph too.” Koruza says to you and Caulifla, then turns to Okira in your arms. “Keep working on that pronunciation, okay?”
“O-Okay.” your formerly-mute daughter says, Imagine Dragon peeking out between her lips and nodding.
“See you around, Dad.” Maza says, surprising you by saying dad instead of the more honorific father he usually uses. So you reach out, ruffling his hair to his clear embarassment.
“You too kiddo. All of you, take care of each other.” you say to your half-demon children, then turn to Future Chaya standing with Ace, holding his hand. “Especially you two. I'm counting on you both.”

“You can count on me.” Ace says seriously and surprisingly forcefully, then to yours and everyone's surprise gives you a proper Saiyan salute. “I won't let you down.”

You return the gesture, then as you lower your arm Future Chaya rushes in, giving you a rib-creakingly powerful hug herself. Forcing you to activate your Energy Body to protect your organs. However, she doesn't notice this until her grip actually begins cracking your energy, your daughter letting go and stepping back in surprise.

“Easy there kiddo. You're packing a lot more power than you used to.” you tell her, reaching up and ruffling her hair as well. She halfheartedly tells you to stop embarrassing her, cheeks blushing a bit despite the smile on her face. “Take care of yourself as well.”
“I will.” she replies, stepping back as Churai steps forward. “See you all next month! Take care!”

Everyone shouts out their final goodbyes, then you find yourself back home on New Salda. As if nothing had ever happened. Looking around, you see no signs of Chilli, Megumin, Tatsu, and Tomi, then after a moment recall that the four of them hadn't been on New Salda either when you'd all returned to Towa's place. You send a quick telepathic message out to the two groups, ensuring everyone got back to where they were safely. Then with four confirmations, you return to your normal daily schedule. You go about your day as normal, not noticing anything out of the ordinary. That is, until you'd gone to bed.

You aren't sure how long you'd slept that night, but suddenly find yourself wide awake in the dark. Without being able to see properly, you'd instead focused your ki sense. And that's when you'd noticed it: Chaya's energy isn't here! She'd been in the next room over going to bed, but now her energy signature isn't anywhere to be found. Even expanding your ki sense to the entire ship, you still can't find her.

What do you do?
>Connect with New Salda and take on your Champion form to enhance your senses. If she's still on the planet, you'll find her
>Telepathically reach out to Chaya, try and find out where she is and what she's doing at this hour

She better hope she hasn't left the planet. I'm not above some tough love. She just needs to realize the meaning of our directing her. Maybe by telling her she can do whatever she wants once she beats us it'll eventually dawn on her why we push her so hard instead of just letting her do her thing.

Then again, subtlety is often lost on children. On the other hand, how many times can you get beat up being told "Once I can't stop you, then you can do what you want" before it finally clicks that once no one can stop her then she can do whatever she wants.

It's just rough. Kids, man. Damn.

You remain frozen in place for a second or two at this realization, but don't stay inactive long. Quickly you decide to find her, using your most foil-proof method.

“New Salda, I need your aid.” you think, reaching out to your planet to and connecting to it telepathically. As you do, you feel strength surging up into you from the base of your feet up into the tips of your hairs. But you're not after power, not in the sense of physical might. But you do need your planet's sense of awareness.
“YOU NEED ME, MY CHAMPION?” comes the booming reply in your mind.
“Just need to see everything for a minute.” you reply, feeling your ki sense exponentially expanding. As always, when connected to your planet, your senses explode. You can sense not just every person, but every animal, creature in the sea, even the plants from the mighty, towering trees to the smallest blades of grass. You can see it all. “Now, where are you?”

Knowing your daughter's ki as well as you do, it takes less than twenty seconds for you to find her. But she's not by Raditz, or off in an isolated gravity chamber by herself. In fact she's rather close to King Vegeta's fortress of a palace, three weaker individuals close enough for her to be talking to them.

“Wonder what's going on?” you think to yourself, keeping your focus on the four ki signatures. They seemingly converse for over a minute, but right as you're about to end the link with New Salda and return to bed, the three far lesser ki signatures all start moving away together. But Chaya remains where she was, unmoving. The three keep walking away, then suddenly you sense her ki shoot straight up into the air. “Guess she's coming back then.”

But she doesn't stop, or change paths. In fact she keeps moving, blasting straight out towards space.

“The hell?” you murmur, Meloka perhaps hearing you in her sleep as she restlessly squirms a bit before settling back down. You return your focus to Chaya, feeling her ki moving further and further away. And then, she's gone. Right out of New Salda's range, which can only mean one thing:

Chaya has departed New Salda.

She pushed herself away.
She had plenty of chances to take a look at herself and examine WHY everyone was telling her that dreadzone was shit and dreadzone was making her complacent and weaker than she should be, but instead she went the route of shooting the messengers.

Everyone else in the family would triple down on their training and work themselves like their lives depended on it if they were told their current training was inadequate, because everyone else understands that their lives do in fact depend on it, and the lives of the ones they love. Chaya instead chose to lash out at her loved ones, alienating the ones in her own timeline and not even enjoying the little time she can get with the ones from outside of her timeline.

She completely lacks in priorities. I can only hope she's leaving to sort that the fuck out and that she realizes half of what I just wrote, but let's just say that I'm not going to get my hopes up for it.
>>
>>5386428
You’re telling an emotional, hormonal sixteen year old girl that her identity she’d built up over half a decade, around a third of her life spent at Dreadzone now in total, was all pointless and she should just give it all up and focus on what they want from her instead. Right after said identity was crushed because someone she thought was her friend stabbed her in the back. Now, because she lost a SINGLE fight, everyone she loves is either telling her that she’s weak, or abandoning her to follow the one who stabbed her in the back.
>>
>>5386466
In our defense we said we didn't like the dreadzone but we would support her anyway
>>
>>5386489
You did, but doesn’t lessen the impact of “your entire lifestyle is stupid and you’re living wrong” coming from your dad.
>>
>>5386496
If Chaya's retarded enough to boil it down to THAT as a message, that's on her.
She should know better. She's sixteen. That means she's seen, with decent enough awareness, everything that happened in the past decade. Every single attempt to kill us, kill our family, kill our entire race, kill our friends, etcetera. She should KNOW that peace is fleeting, and that the peace we have now as temporary as it is was only earned through becoming as strong as physically possible in as short amount of time as possible.
Tatsu would be rolling in his grave right now if he wasn't busy making BBQ demon ribs while the demons are still alive.
And hey, we did tell her that the best fights are in the higher tiers. SHE'S the one that wants to stay in the little leagues. She'll never know the absolute thrill of being pushed to your upmost limits against a truly strong opponents if she keeps up like this. She'll never find her own Ubo or Frieza.

“What the hell is she thinking.” you think to yourself, thanking New Salda and ending the connection as you decide your next move. Where the hell would she be going? You're pretty sure she just took off towards Dreadzone, off to reclaim her title no doubt. But as you have the thought, you wonder why she didn't just ask Raven to open a portal for her. You realize that you hadn't expressly told Raven that she wasn't allowed to go to Dreadzone or anything yourself, did Chaya just anticipate that you had? Or is she going somewhere else? You suppose there is only one person who knows for sure. So, you reach out to Chaya telepathically.

“Chaya, did I just sense you leaving New Salda?” you think out to her. But she doesn't respond, not immediately. So, you keep pressing. “Kiddo, what's going on?”
“I've had it.” she replies after several moments of silence, you sense that same boiling anger you'd felt from her in Towa's realm when she snapped just below the surface. But that's not all you sense. You can also feel her determination, her resolve to follow through with this....Whatever she's planning. But you can also sense her hatred, her resentment towards everyone who she feels is now trying to 'shelter the poor beat up girl who can't fight for herself'. “I'm sick and tired of everyone looking down on me because I lost ONE fight! I get beaten once, and suddenly everyone thinks I can't fight anymore. That I need everyone to PROTECT me! I don't NEED anyone protecting me, I can fight for myself! So, I'm leaving and not coming back home until I've proven to you, to Momma, to Broly an' future me, to Radii, everyone! I'm gonna prove that I'm strong!”

Well, this is quite the development. What now?
>Tell her that she has one chance to turn around and come back, but if she doesn't, she'd better not come crawling back to you for help. If she doesn't 'need' anyone protecting her, she's on her own
>Let her know that no matter what happens, you'll be here if she needs you and wish her luck on her journey. No point fighting her about this now, if you do, she'll just grow to resent you even more than she clearly already does

She then forcefully ends the telepathic link, leaving you alone with your thoughts. Chaya's furious, you once again wondering just what Future Chaya told her? But that doesn't help you with this situation, you putting it out of your head for now. You have much more urgent business, being your daughter. But what do you do? You then look over, seeing Meloka's still-sleeping form, and decide that the only thing you can do is wake her up. So you do so, hoping for the best.

“Mel. Hey, Meloka, I need you.” you whisper, reaching over with your left and rubbing her exposed back. She mumbles again, rolling over in her sleep towards you and pressing herself and the sleeping Karn Jr to you. “C'mon, you gotta get up hun. We've got a problem.”

At this, it's almost like a switch flips and her eyes open immediately.

“Shhhh.” you whisper, putting your finger to her lips then thinking to her. “It's about Chaya. She just left.”
“Left?” she asks, still a bit drowsy but clearly awake and thinking. “Left where?”
“She just left the planet.” you tell her mentally, immediately sensing her panic through the mental link. So you explain your conversation you just had, how she claims she's not coming back until she 'proves' that she's strong.”
“Proves? What the hell is that girl thinking?” Meloka mutters aloud. “And she just left, right?”

“Right before I woke you up.” you tell her, meeting her eyes. “What should we do?”
“What do you mean, what should we do?” she replies telepathically, hairless brows furrowing as she looks into your eyes. “What is there to think about? Dreadzone may be incredibly stupid, but she left of her own volition. So we have to let her go, Karn.”
“You...You don't want to go after her?” you ask, Meloka sighing and pressing her forehead to yours. “You're just going to let her go out there on her own?”
“What, were you planning to go and DRAG her back here?” she asks you pointedly. “And then what? Were you going to be her prison warden, keeping watch over her twenty four-seven so she couldn't 'escape' again? Forcing her into the lifestyle you live, regardless of what she wants until she's 'strong enough'? Because if you do that, there's only one outcome I can see. If you try and cage her, she'll only grow more defiant and resentful.”

She then quits telepathically talking, and speaks directly to you.

“Then when she's strong enough to escape you, she will never return. You'd never see your daughter. Ever again.”

Her words hit you like a truck, the unease you'd been feeling over the past week hitting you in the chest like a hammer blow. Never again? She would really resent you that much for trying to make her better that she would do such a thing?

“I know you want what you think is best for her. But she's an adult now.” Meloka continues, softer than before as she leans up and kisses you. “She has to make her own mistakes, to forge her own path and earn her scars like the rest of us. You can't protect her forever, hun.”
“But she's not ready.” you say, your own frustration starting to bubble up a bit. “What if something happens to her and she needs us? I don't want to lose her.”
“Me neither. She's not ready, I don't want her to go, and she's probably going to end up seriously hurt.” Meloka says, you seeing a single tear she'd been trying to hide and hold back roll down her face. “But we can't hold her here forever, keeping her safe. She has to go out and make her own choices, her own mistakes, and live with the consequences. All we can do for her now is let her know that, no matter what, we'll still be here whenever she wants to come home.”

“Wha's goin' on?” Caulifla asks, eyes barely cracked open as she sits up. “Maa? Daa?”
“Shhh, everything's fine kiddo. Go back to sleep.” you tell her, ruffling her hair with your left hand. She mumbles something unintelligible as she lays back down, falling back asleep against you within a few seconds. You look over at your daughter's sleeping face, perfectly safe here under your protection and wish Chaya would do the same. But she's not going to, not without a fight. And even if you 'win', and drag her back home, would you ever get the results you want? Or would that just push her even further away?

What now?
>Trust your wife's motherly instincts, reach out to Chaya with the both of you and let her know that, no matter what happens to her out there, she can always come back home

"I'm too worked up right now, gonna go work out until I calm down." you tell her, leaning in and giving Meloka a kiss. She returns it, then settles back in as you slip out of bed. Once standing you grab a training uniform, quickly dress then head towards the door while thinking back to her. “I'll be back in a bit.”
“I'll be here.” she replies as you open the door, stepping out and closing it behind you. Then with a small telekinetic effort set the lock, then start walking bare footed towards the gravity chamber's door. Your footsteps are silent through the empty halls, you quickly walking to your training chamber. The door seals shut behind you, then taking a deep breath walk over to the gravity controls.

“Fifty isn't enough.” you say, clutching the controls when suddenly an idea comes tom mind. Focusing you transform back down out of your Ascended Berserker form, then crank the chamber all the way up to 60x New Salda's gravity. Stepping back from the machine you press the activation button with your telekinetic touch, bracing yourself as the chamber hums to life. The weight on your shoulders increases by the second, reaching the levels you're used to training at within three, but then it keeps going. The weight keeps increasing, you feeling your knees starting to buckle under the pressure. “S-SHIT!”

You're no longer able to hold yourself up, falling forward under the weight. You catch yourself with your arms, feeling your shoulders and elbows straining to keep you off the ground. After only a second your arms already begin trembling, struggling under this twenty percent increase over your usual training gravity. You feel your body giving under the gravity, pushing all thoughts of Chaya from your mind and focusing entirely on yourself. Under this much pressure, any excess thoughts will only weaken you and your resolve.

“HRRAAAA!” you snarl, slowly pushing yourself back up onto your feet. Despite your body struggling with the sudden, massive increase to what it's used to working with, you manage to get back onto your feet. Now the real workout can begin. “One thousand push-ups. Let's do this.”

Controlling your descent you take up the position, calling out each repetition as your body moves up and down. After the first hundred your arms are burning, sweat dripping off your face onto the floor below as you keep going. Two hundred in, the burning's intensity has more than tripled, arms trembling and ready to give out at any moment. But still you persevere. Three, four, five hundred all pass, you feeling your strength waning by the second. But you refuse to give up, pushing your body to its limits.

“Nine nine. Eight. Nine nine nine. One thousand!” you exclaim, allowing your body to collapse to the ground as you complete the thousandth rep. The gravity is so intense your puddle of sweat doesn't even splash, you laying in it while trying to catch your breath. Your arms feel leaden, you doubt you could even do another two repetitions. But you did it. “Damn, that hurt.”

You lay still on the ground for several minutes, wondering what to do about Chaya before slowly pushing yourself back up, ready to continue your workout. But suddenly your instincts scream at you that you're in danger! And it's right behind you! Clenching your dead fists and whirling around you reach deep, using your anger and pain to transform back up into your Ascended Berserker form. Your might explodes as you go full power, giving you enough strength to raise your arms and attack whoever is stupid enough to try attacking you here.

“HRRAAAAAA!!” you roar, right fist swinging through empty air. Seemingly empty air. But just as your punch reaches its maximum range, Cooler's face appears. Just in time to take a full power punch to the face. Your blow sends him flying back, crashing into the far wall hard enough to leave an actual dent in the reinforced metal before falling to the ground. What the hell is HE doing here?

Well?

“C-Cooler?” you say, quite surprised. “Sorry, didn't realize that was you.”
“Guh.” he wheezes, you turning from him to the control panel, swiftly turning off the enhanced gravity. The ambient red glow quickly fades, you turning and seeing the brother of Freeza rising up to his full height. While your back was turned he clearly transformed, and as he stands up you realize a couple of things. First, that he's nearly as tall as you are in his fifth form. Second, is that his power has EXPLODED since the last time you'd seen him. His strength now actually rivals your own, no. His power is now slightly greater than you own!

“Well well, look what we have here.” you say, genuinely impressed with his progress. “Seems someone hasn't been idle.”
“I don't need your patronizing, monkey.” Cooler replies, but you can almost hear his smirk as he tilts his head back a bit. Then to your surprise, you see a pale blue aura appearing around Freeza's brother. His eyes narrow as you see it, then the room's temperature immediately drops dramatically. Your sweat on your body freezes to you while ice begins sprouting across the ground out from Cooler's feet. Flaring your aura, your ki shatters the ice as you leap back from him. “Oho? Looks like you can see my Ice Ice Baby, after all. So you really are a Stand user as well.”

“What? Since when?” you ask, shocked at this turn of events. “You didn't have this power when you were under Babidi's mind control.”
“Indeed, I did not. But Father granted me this power, thanks to that stone dagger you recovered from the Covenant.” he replies, you regretting giving that artifact over to Cold for a moment. “Now I am stronger than ever. I can even defeat you now, monkey.”
“Oh yeah? Bring it on then!” you reply, flaring your aura up while powering up to full and taking your fighting stance. “Stand or not, you can't beat me.”
“As much as I would love to prove my superiority over you, now is not the time.” Cooler replies, you actually hearing the disappointment in his voice. “Father needs your assistance and couldn't risk it being overheard through any channels, official or not.”
“For what?” you ask, confused. King Cold knows telekinesis, he could have asked you himself. This smells like a trap to you.

“His curse has been lifted.”

“What?” you exclaim, shocked. “Really?”
“Indeed. Just yesterday, his lingering affliction was lifted. Centuries of illness lifted in a second. And now, he's rather eager to test out his restored strength.” Cooler tells you. “So he requested I bring you to him, ready for a fight. If you were ready for such a contest, that is.”
“Oh, I'm ready.” you say, then reach out to Meloka telepathically. “Hey hun, I'll be heading out for a bit.”
“You're really going to chase after her?” Meloka asks, you sensing something unpleasant from her. “Really?”
“No, this is something unrelated.” you reply, then quickly fill her in. “So I'll be back in a bit.

“Good luck.” she replies, then adds. “He's been alive for centuries hun. Be careful, there's no telling what he can do.”
“I will.” you answer her, ending the mental link and meeting Cooler's gaze. “Let's go.”
“Hold on tight.” Cooler replies, right hand going to his forehead as he holds his left out towards you. Hesitating for only a second you reluctantly take his offered hand, then the world changes around you. One instant you are in your gravity chamber, the next find yourself standing before a rather imposing throne. And sitting upon it is a figure built similarly to Cooler and Freeza's fourth forms is the oldest living member of their race, the imposing King Cold. Cooler immediately kneels down, speaking up. “I have brought him, as you requested father.”
“Thank you, Cooler. You may go.” he replies, Cooler not even raising up as he vanishes. No doubt returning to wherever his ship was. “Thank you for coming, Karn. We have much to discuss. But first, there is something I must see.”

Then from behind King Cold a massive, hulking figure suddenly appears. Radiating the same sort of energy as that mist around Cooler, Caulifla's Triumph, and Koruza's Dark Rider. Looks like King Cold has acquired his own Stand as well. This could be interesting.

“Under Pressure.” King Cold says, the titanic being behind him slamming its fists together. And as soon as they touch, the gravity increases exponentially. Even in your Ascended Berserker form, you're forced down to a knee almost-instantly. “Now. Show me what you can really do.”

So, I saw some an old early DBZ clip and had an idea.
How good is Karn as striking at areas he can't actually see in the moment?
I'm talking about kicking behind himself, throwing strikes into his own blindspots, etc...
I figure if we actually got good at it, it would compliment our danger-sense and allow us to reverse those situations even easier.
>>
>>5390076
Considering that Karn has fought in actual wars and pitched battle he probably has learned how to navigate the chaotic hellscape that is a devolving melee pretty well. So he probably doesn't struggle with initiating engagements outside of direct line of sight.
>>
>>5390083
My thoughts exactly. I'm fairly certain that the only Time Patrollers that it would come to naturally would be the Frost Demons due to their tails.
Otherwise it's just not something you learn unless you were raised in the shit like Karn or any Saiyan in his generation.
Thus, why not build on it?
>>
>>5390076
Karn is a fighter far better with his fists than kicks. But as for striking non-forward enemies, there are two main strikes he usually goes for unarmed: thrusting elbow for those directly behind and to the sides, and spinning backfist for a more “that general area” kind of swing. But on top of that Karn has his Explosive Wave and Guided Eye Beams too.
>>5390083
But you have to consider they types of battle. The Tuffles weren’t fighters, they didn’t go toe-to-toe.
>>5390089
They are well-equipped. But the lack of experience shows, with most Time Patrollers only having a single to three, maybe four answers to being attacked from behind.
But this whole topic brings us to the main difference in someone like Goku and Karn’s fighting: Karn is a brawler, while Goku is a martial artist. Bane and the former Guardian’s techniques have improved him, honing and sharpening the rough edges, but at the end of the day Karn fights to live while Goku fights to improve.

So, what's the threshold on Karn becoming visibly corrupted by the Dark Side of the Force?
You know, stuff like pale skin, glowing irises, prominent veins, etc...
Or do we not draw on the Dark Side enough for any of that to happen?

We don't use the Dark side for much of anything, we're Grey at best with flavors of Green Out Rage.

Serious dedication to learning/using/abusing it. To get to that point, you’d need a lot ot training with the holocron Sith. Although, when’s the last time you checked up on where it was?

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 181 Intermission-

AGE 750, NEW SALDA

“I'll show them.” you mutter darkly to yourself, walking silently through the empty halls. Everyone's always asleep at this hour, so you should be able to slip out without any confrontations. Or so you thought, feeling surprised as a silvery, metallic form rises up from the ground. You take a half step back, ready to throw down, but relax as it turns into the familiar form of Silver's son. “Jim? What're you doing here?”
“I don't need to sleep, so after that Lin Kuei incident I've been guarding the entrance every night.” he answers, brows furrowing. “But you all should be well asleep by now, right? So where are you going, Chaya?”

You are Chaya, former Dreadzone Champion, and are currently on a quest to regain your title. By any means necessary. Every single day since that single loss, everyone has treated you differently. Either like a helpless, defenseless child that needs their protection, or simply abandoned you. Moving on to the next champion like they hadn't just been cheering for you to take her down once more. Proving what Vox had told you when you first became the Champion of Dreadzone, all those years ago.

“You did great kid, putting that old has-been down.” Vox had congratulated you in his private office. At the time you'd seen what you now know were prototypes of your merch, each one in different poses and showing different levels of damage you'd taken in different fights. “Congratulations, you're now number one. The Champion of Dreadzone. But remember, there is one all-important rule of being the champ. Which is-”
“To be a boring, grumpy old man like him?” you'd asked innocently, pointing to the single Ace Hardlight figure still on his table. Which, looking back, hadn't been an accident or oversight. He'd been trying to make a point, and even now you remember that lesson. Vox had snorted at your innocent, ignorant question, picking up the small Ace figurine in his real hand.
“The number one rule is to never stop winning.” he'd told you, tone deadly serious. “You've got style, power, and a great personality that warms the fans to you. But if you don't keep winning and lose that belt to someone, they'll all drop you.”

Then for emphasis he dropped the Ace figurine off of his desk, not even watching as it falls down into the small trash can beside his desk. You watch the poor toy as it is discarded, almost feeling bad for killing the guy to take his title of Champion. But as Vox kept talking, you'd turned back to him.

“Everyone loves a Champoin, kid. But that's only so long as you REMAIN the Champion.” he'd warned, you not appreciating that at the time. “The minute you quit winning, everyone will drop you faster than I dropped Ace. No one cares about a former champion.”
“Then I guess I just gotta not lose then.” you'd answered with an ignorant child's certainty, not knowing just how true his words would prove to be one day. Which brings you back to the present, talking with Silver's boy. “I'm headed out, gonna spend the night with Raditz. I don't plan on coming back, so if something that looks like me tries to come back in, blast it.”

“Understood.” Jim replies with a forehead salute like that bitch Tanya's minions, you just nodding as you walk past him down the ramp. Your new armor's boots sink a bit into the sand as you walk away from the ship, moving to the far side of the small island before lifting off with a whisper of power. Moving fast won't help you if your dad somehow senses it and wakes up, he always seems to wake up when someone's sneaking around. And if he knew what you were doing, no doubt he would try and stop you. Then give you yet ANOTHER lecture about how you're too stupid and weak to do anything on your own without his approval. But screw him! You don't need his approval, protection, or his HELP. You're strong enough to head out into the universe on your own and do what you need to do. Screw waiting for two more years, with everyone belittling and criticizing and looking down on you every single day!

“I'll show them. I'll show them all!” you say with a snarl, flying out over the sea and approaching the mainland with nothing more than your new armor, your last Dreadzone-made scouter, and one of the spare unassigned scouters from the crew's quarters you'd snuck out with in your hands as well. You don't want anyone coming after you, once you've sent your goodbye message to Raditz. As you fly into the city, passing by the home he shares with his own dad, mom, and brothers, you're tempted to stop by and tell him you're leaving in person. But you know him too well, Radii would try and talk you out of this. Or, failling that, would follow right behind you. But you can't prove yourself to everyone if you need someone else's help once you leave New Salda, you have to do this on your own. So, with a heavy heart you fly past him, focused on your mission. Step one is done, you got out of the house without getting noticed. Now you just need to get a ship and leave New Salda behind before anyone notices you're gone.

After another few seconds of flight you finally come to the launching and landing zone for the Attack Pods. Coming to a stop in the air, you start looking around for someone to get a pod ready. After a few seconds you see a trio of what look like workers standing around and talking, so without a sound you descend right behind the strongest of the group as he's mid-conversation.

“-as telling him that he's not cut out for the front lines, not until he gets stronger.” the man is telling his friends, who's eyes all widen as you appear. But he doesn't notice their change in expressions, continuing his story. “And I swear to you, the little shit suddenly transformed into a Super Saiyan! Golden hair and everything! So I turned back to my woman, who'd gone silent at this point, and I asked her who'd she been sleeping behind my back with, General Karn?”

His friends, who both still clearly see you go pale as a sheet at this, trying to subtly signal for him to stop. But the 'leader' of this little group doesn't get it, clearly annoyed they didn't find his 'joke' funny.

“C'mon, you guys too? I thought that was a pretty good one.” he obliviously continues, one of his frineds finally working up the courage to speak. Well, at least he attempts to.
“R-R-Right b-behind.” he stammers, raising a shaking finger as he points directly to you. The man turns, coming face-to-face with you, and immediately leaps back in surprise.
“Shit fuck damn!!” he shouts, tripping over his own feet while crashing into his friends, sending all three of the weaklings crashing down to the ground. “What the hell? Trying to give me a damn heart attack?”
“I need a ship. Now.” you tell them, landing on the suspended metal walkway and crossing your arms. “Important, top secret mission. I have to head out immediately. Which pods are ready to depart right now?”

“T-T-This way.” the one who'd pointed at you before stammers, pointing towards what you see is an intersection. So you sigh out, walk over to and grab the largest of the three and set him back on his feet.
“C'mon, on your feet.” you say, lifting the two still on the ground to their feet as well. All three seem a bit embarrassed, but you don't have time for this.”Now. Which pods? Hurry up, I've got to leave right now.

“Y-Y-Yes ma'am. F-Follow me.” the one who has been stammering says, you realize that it might not be a nervous thing but an actual brain problem. Just like that one fan you met a couple months back.

Vox had run a promotion a few months back, offering a 'Day with the Champ' to one lucky winner. The winner was a young kid and at first his stammer caught you really off guard. But he explained it as a condition he has, something the poor kid was born with and had no control over. After adjusting to his way of talking the two of you'd actually had a really good time, you showing him around even teaching him how to reply to you telepathically so you could stay in touch after that day. As the trio lead you across the mess of platforms, you decide that you should probably reach out to him. Once you're clear of New Salda and Raven's always listening ears. If she 'hears' you and decides to let your dad know you're leaving, you could be in trouble. Best to fly under the radar until you're well and clear of your home planet. “H-H-Here we are. R-Ready and waiting, ch-ch-champ.”

“Thanks. Now, forget you all ever saw anything.” you tell them. “This is a top-secret mission from Lord Freeza himself I'm heading out on. Real hush-hush stuff. Understand?”
“Yes ma'am.” the three salute you, giving proper Saiyan salutes before turning from the pod and quickly getting clear as you hook your scouter to the ship's systems, plugging in the coordinates and route for your destination. You press the button, lowering the hatch which seals with a hiss. You're ready to go.
“See ya, New Salda.” you say, then press the button. The attack pod blasts up off the ground, shooting straight towards outer space. For a split second you consider abandoning this plan, just returning home like nothing happened, but then the words you'd exchanged with that other you ring out in your head. Resolve redoubled you cross your arms, not stopping your ship as it quickly leaves New Salda behind. You can feel it when the ship stops fighting to escape the atmosphere, leaving your pod flying away from the planet at high speeds. You did it, you got away! But as soon as you have the thought:

“Chaya, did I just sense you leaving New Salda?” your dad asks, reaching out telepathically. But you ignore him, he's the last person you want to talk to right now. Or maybe ever. “Kiddo, what's going on?”

For several moments you consider just not answering. But he'd probably use that Instant Transmission directly to your pod if you said nothing. So, with a sigh you focus your mind enough to reply, deciding to tell him off.

“I've had it.” you finally reply to him telepathically, unable to suppress your rage.

You then forcefully end the telepathic link, leaving you all alone. He doesn't try to re-establish the mental connection, or teleport directly to your side and throw you back to New Salda either. Instead he's leaving you completely alone. However, you no longer need to worry about hiding your escape or anything, so you bring up your scouter, and position it to record your message to Raditz. You take a deep breath, sigh out, then opening your eyes start talking to him.

“Sorry I couldn't tell you this in person, Radii, but as I'm sure you're already aware I've left New Salda behind.” you say, the weight of your decision to leave everyone behind really hitting you. But you can't show weakness or uncertainty, choking down on your emotions like a pro as you continue speaking without a waver in your voice. “But I know you all too well. You would have tried to stop me, then when that didn't work follow after me. But I have no intentions of coming back, this is something I have to do. Alone. I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get that backstabber.”

You feel yourself getting a bit heated over remembering that bitch Tanya, so you force yourself to take another deep, relaxing breath before continuing.

“So don't wait up on me, okay? I'm not sure how long this is gonna take, so go enjoy yourself.” you tell him, forcing a smile to hide how you really feel about him. “I'll always treasure the great memories we made together, but I know you. I know you really want to start your own family, like both our dads have done, but that's not where my path leads me. At least, not anytime soon. So don't wait around for me to come back, go pursue your own dream Radii. I'm sure you'll find just the right someone who wants to be the mother of your kids. Good luck, Radii. I'll always be rooting for you.”

Finishing your farewell you end the recording, then with a few taps send the message to Raditz's own Dreadzone-issue scouter he'd been wearing. Once the message goes through, the scouter notifying you that it delivered, you crush the old communicator in one hand with a heavy heart. Grinding it to pieces in your grip, you let the pieces fall into the pod's floor as you take up the new scouter you'd acquired, preparing to get all of its' settings right. But just as you do, ANOTHER telepathic message starts coming through.

“I understand why you left how you did, Chaya.” your Momma's thinks to you. You're about to reply when she continues, you deciding to let her talk herself before you say anything. “Your father can be.... A lot, sometimes. I get it Chaya, I really do. And I'm sure nothing I can say will bring you back. So just...be careful out there, okay? The universe is still a very dangerous place. Always watch your back, don't trust anyone, and if you're ever in trouble you can't solve on your own, you can always ask for help.”
“Why does everyone always think I need their help?” you reply with a bit of heat, but it just washes off of her without the slightest hint of upsetting her. Which does steal quite a bit of your fire.

“We all need help sometimes, no matter how much we like to think ourselves invincible.” she answers you. “I've needed Towa's help just to live several times now. As much as I don't like to admit to it, I haven't come this far because of my own strength. Just don't forget about us, if you're ever in a truly desperate situation I'll be there for you. Now, go on. Go out there and see the universe for yourself. But no matter what happens or what you do, you'll always have a place and a home here with us.”

Then before you can reply, she ends the mental link. Leaving you all alone once more. But you don't feel as lonely anymore, knowing that, no matter what, your Momma understands and has got your back. However, you don't feel up to fiddling with the scouter anymore, instead deciding to relax in your seat for a bit and shut your eyes. It is a long trip to Planet Yardrat, after all. You'll have plenty of time on the trip. So instead, you set it aside, setting the small pyramid you'd taken from the ship as well on your knees.

"Alright. Time to show me what you can do."

Of all the things she could take to heart, she holds onto the words of an exploitative to the max greedy jewfish. Jesus fucking Christ. It is physically impossible for me to frown any harder.

>she took the holocron
For fuck's sake. Great. Wonderful. I guess that's going to be a nice surprise when we end up having to try and not kill her when she gets back. Stupid girl. "I'm super strong and can do anything so lets go ahead and do literally everything possible to fuck my life up to prove them wrong!" maximum brainlet. I need a drink.
>>
At the very least she's not rushing back to the Dreadzone and is getting some proper training on Yardrat. But it begs the question. If she does end up getting stronger and ultimately reclaiming her title. Will she even want to come back once everything is said and done? Would Karn even want to talk to his daughter again and not write her off as a lost cause if she chooses to listen to Vox over her own flesh and blood? You can chalk it up as teenage rebelling but a knife to the back is still a knife no matter how you slice it.

Vox’s message and Karn’s are quite similar. Winning the fight/battle/war is the most important thing.

Mechikabura wasn’t wrong, YOUR actions did directly lead to this outcome, although not quite how you all had planned. If you hadn’t attacked both her way of life and sense of self-worth at her most vulnerable point since she could speak, this could very easily have turned out vastly different. But anons chose to try pushing their agenda onto her.
>>5390926

>>
>>5390937
>Vox’s message and Karn’s are quite similar.
But they are exceedingly dissimilar in the motivation. Vainglory is the enemy of competency. And Chaya's too bullheaded to understand any of it.

If Chaya had a single introspective bone in her body she'd at least make smart choices to try and prove her point. There's nothing wrong with lashing out or pushing back, but there absolutely are ways to go about doing it. It's like when your father tells you that you should get a degree or you'll be poor. Instead you go to a trade school or pursue a passion, you don't smoke fucking crack to get that energy that allows you to somehow make money despite all odds just to piss it away getting your fix.

She just never thinks of why people are saying these things to her. Only that she doesn't like it. Her whole answer to "why" is that "everyone is wrong". Her skull is most certainly thicker than Karn's. Extremely frustrating.
>>
>>5390965
The difference here is that Trunks is stupid as a result of brain damage and poor parenting while Chaya is stupid as a result of hormones.
>>
>>5390967
>She just never thinks of why people are saying these things to her. Only that she doesn't like it.
Yeah, sounds like a teenager alright.
>>

>>
>>5390938

>>5390965
Not quite.
>>5390967
You’ve clearly never delt with a hormonal teenager before. You tell them ‘don’t do X’, then X becomes the first thing they do when angry at you. Karn, Meloka, Broly, Chilli, even Future Chaya all said her identity was stupid after her sense of self was damaged. Of course she lashes out angrily and doubles down.

Let’s take another approach. If you’ve built your identity around being good at let’s say Smash, topping every tournament for almost half your LIFE then suddenly you lose to someone you’d beaten before in a match you weren’t taking wholly seriously. Then your parents and some of your siblings all tell you smash is a waste of your time and should be playing League instead. What would you do? Just say “oh yeah you’re right” and abandon everything? Or tell them all to fuck off and get right back to it?
>>5390968
Not wholly hormones’ fault. They only exacerbate the problem.

Whelp read the intermission, chaya is a spoiled brat and doesn't listen to shit, doesn't even try to understand shit, she straight up stole a dangerous item like the holocron and is gonna come back a cocky retarded sith shit and i'm hoping we don't need to give her THE BOI treatment but chaya simps ITT are crying thinking they did something wrong when sometimes children are simply born fucking stupid. For example i don't think we did wrong with any of the kids, chilli for example just got stuck in a shit situation and karn did what he could to help, hell he did more then the average parent does to help but apparently thats not enough. Sometimes life does what life does and fucks up things.

Yeah, Chaya really dropped the ball here, not us. We worded what we did pretty damn well, in a way that any halfway reasonable person would seriously consider. If she doesn't want to seriously consider it, that's on her - means she's not even halfway reasonable.
I can only assume that despite us passing along a warning to Future Chaya about how she words her shit, Future Chaya rolled a nat 1 and put not only her foot but her entire leg in her mouth while trying to talk to Cringe Chaya.
Whatever, it is what it is. Just one of them parenting arcs where your kid decides to go full retard despite literally everyone telling them not to go full retard.
>>
>>5390988
>You’ve clearly never delt with a hormonal teenager before
I've been a hormonal teenager. Everything I did was reasonable. And that's including jumping out of moving cars just to prove a point.

She's been told everyone's opinions. Instead of acting like everyone hates her guts she should realize that they simply don't like her choices. And move on. The smart thing to do. All she had to do was say "okay" and continue her life. She completely created her own issue by not taking a step back and stopping to think.

That's my issue with her. She could have decided to fuck off to the other side of the universe and have said she's just doing it to prepare herself and it would be annoying but fine. Instead she decides she has to show her asshole to everyone who cares about her. You do not cut off your nose to spite your face.

That holocron shit was the last straw. Like playing with daddy's gun just because he said it was dangerous. There is no excuse and it's fine to beat the stupid out of a child for doing it. I don't care how outdated some people say that line of thinking is.
>>
>>5391021
The path to the dark side is filled with seethe and cope, this won't end well if she can't admit that.
>>
>>5390913
Chaya did the dumbest thing she possibly could do holy shit.

Now we're going to eventually have to kill Bane and beat the shit out of our daughter once she goes even more full retard.
>>
Hey. Anons.
Why didn't we lock up that fucking Holocron in a horrible little safe? After what happened to Mouse. HOW DID CHAYA GET HER FUCKING HANDS ON THAT THING?!
>>
>>5390937
Maybe so but I can't help but feel things aren't going to look good for her future. After all, stealing the Holocron is like asking to be disowned by the family. I agree with Meloka that she should live her life and make her mistakes to learn from them. But I don't agree that she come out of this unscathed or not reprimanded. She won't listen to reason so as cruel as it may sound, I think we need to just let her go for the time being and focus on what matters most.

There are other kids in our family that need to be protected. Especially if the oldest fucks up hard with the Holocron. Chaya made her choice and now she has to sleep in the bed she made.
>>
>>5391092
One thing that I'm sure of: the next time we get our hands on it, we fucking BREAK that shit. It happened with Mouse, sure, and its been in timeout ever since. But to have Bane us our flesh and blood against us, isolating her and playing games in her head like that potato head twat? Unacceptable.
>>
>>5391051
I tried to warn everyone AGAINST this outcome. But I don't railroad. This is the path you all willingly walked down.
>>5391064
You still attacked her character, her identity, and half of her life.
Oh, don't get me started on Future Chaya. She went right for your Chaya's throat, but Chaya fired back just as hard. They both dug harshly into each other's lives (or lack thereof) and didn't speak to each other for the rest of the visit.
>>5391069
>just to prove a point
Bruh.
>She's been told everyone's opinions
She didn't hear anyone's opinions when everyone directly attacked her very identity.

No, it wouldn't have. We ALL know anon wouldn't have voted to let her leave "Until she's ready". You already told her as much, which is why she ran away in the middle of the night.

There's no excuse for that. All I can say is that those who feel shunned are far easier to persuade. If you think she took it without provocation you're dreaming.

>>5391076
Well, she does know how dangerous Chilli said it was, on top of Karn telling everyone not to touch it. Not to mention Mouse.

>>
>>5391098
That's the thing, chief. Didn't attack shit. Just brought up perfectly valid points in the most reasonable possible way.
Completely on her if she takes it the wrong way like an idiot.
>>
>>5391089
I still don't know why anons voted not to disintegrate the thing. As if we were ever going to do something else with it. We hardly ever even leverage Bane for anything at all anymore.

>>5391092
Man I don't want to put Chaya into a coma to get rid of her goofy ass Bane copy. Maybe her copy will see Karn and the fact he's 100% got a ghost of his own and will tone it down knowing he's already got a better pupil in her father.

Who am I kidding, she's probably going to try to kill us or Meloka or the kids. I feel like a need to get a bottle of the hard stuff ready in advance.

>>5391098
>She didn't hear anyone's opinions when everyone directly attacked her very identity.
And that's the point. She is too dumb to THINK about it. She just turns her nose up like everyone wants to hurt her instead of literally anything else. That's why it's frustrating. No one gives a fuck that she made a choice they find silly. They just don't like the choice. There's a key difference between thinking someone can do better and thinking someone is bad. She doesn't understand that.

>until she is ready
She was in a damn coma and was weakened long term, no shit she isn't ready to leave yet. It's called rehabilitation. Just because she's impatient doesn't mean she has any water to tread.

>without provocation
>gaslighting
nigga pls. When someone says "the stove is hot" and you know the stove is hot, you don't touch the fucking stove to see if it really is. I don't care if the one who told you just pissed on your bed. Chaya is just plain dumb as a bag of gravel.

I don't want to have to kick her ass, man. And it sure as shit isn't -our- fault if plenty of other characters also voiced similar opinions. That is just irritating.
>>
>>5391098
So chaya went from a determined kid, who's ready to work hard and is happy to have our support and training even if we didnt agree with her decisions in thread 179, and then big chaya said something to her explosively after the vote ended with Karn warning towa warning big chaya that she would probably take it the wrong way? And then after whatever big chaya said to her she turns from that determined if shaken girl into a turbo angry retard who rages on her dad (who last time they spoke was on a positive uptick) fights him, and shuts down from the rest of the family and pushes everyone away? At that point all of our votes were made irrelevant, and it didn't matter.

Sometimes we have to do the things we don't like for the greater good. If see becomes our enemy then we need to strike fast and hard for a decisive blow. Hesitation will only make it worse, especially for everyone involved. Now I ain't saying we should chase after her and get it over with. But if she comes back, still haven't see everyone was only trying to help, and tries to swing at us like we're public enemy No 1. Well then she better be ready to get decked in the face. Hard.
>>
>>5391120
Yeah, that's the same logic I use. It feels like railroading from our perspective, but then again literally all of us are men who are not of the teenage variety.
I don't know of any being more illogical and retarded than a teenage girl without ACTUALLY being physically retarded.
>>
>>5391122
I know man. I just hate the idea. It's such a shitty situation and no one should ever be in. She's our little girl, bro. It's hard to cope with.
>>
>>5391124
I don't like it either and just wish that she did this smartly by undergoing our training and recovering properly before settling things. At least then we'd be on good terms along with her having a whole new plateau to harness and utilize 100% with False Super Saiyan God or w/e it's called.

As it is now it's too unpredictable to rely on properly. She is better off using that anger to go SS3. But it is what it is..There's no medicine for curing stupidity.

Yes you did. You may not have MEANT to, but you cut her deep. See:
>>5390988
>Let’s take another approach. If you’ve built your identity around being good at let’s say Smash, topping every tournament for almost half your LIFE then suddenly you lose to someone you’d beaten before in a match you weren’t taking wholly seriously. Then your parents and some of your siblings all tell you smash is a waste of your time and should be playing League instead. What would you do? Just say “oh yeah you’re right” and abandon everything? Or tell them all to fuck off and get right back to it?
If you think that if the above example was you and you would NOT take it personally, either you’re an emotionless robot or a lizard person.
>>5391106
Because the temptation of greater power is strong. Isildur couldn’t destroy the One Ring, after all, even after defeating Sauron.
Why would Bane want a family feud? That wouldn’t help further his goals at all.
>She is too dumb
Now you’re just insulting her without cause.
She did handle 50x New Salda Gravity before training for a week at Towa’s. But what sorts of training did she do, I wonder...?
When you feel attacked by those you trusted, their words of caution hold less weight. And those offering exactly what you’re looking for seem quite tempting indeed.
>>5391116
>How is that not railroading?
It is not because I gave you all MULTIPLE chances to avoid this outcome. I warned you all, but my warnings were all ignored and you went after her soul. Every single chance you could, you went after her identity as Champion; calling her WHOLE identity she built up over her life worthless.
>>5391120
Heh.
>>5391122
You’re imagining this playing out quite differently than the path it’s currently on.
Why would she go after you? Her ultimate goal is the bitch who stabbed her in the back.
>>5391124
Why does everyone think she’s going to go full mustache-twirling evil? She only wants to prove you all wrong, not hurt you. There’s only one person she actually wants to hurt.
>>5391131
Well, you have a month to decide if you want to see her again or not. Small spoiler I guess.
>>
>>5391185
>When you feel attacked by those you trusted, their words of caution hold less weight. And those offering exactly what you’re looking for seem quite tempting indeed.
Yeah and people who don't realize why that's wrong are dumb. She's dumb. Dumb or emotionally weak. But because she's being so irritating it's automatically dumb.

>Why does everyone think she’s going to go full mustache-twirling evil?
My man you just talked about the power of temptation and ignore the fact that the dark side of the force is one of the more insidious and corrupting influences outside of mean-spirited and grimdark style media.

That's why. Because if it was just about anything else it'd be "Well shit" but because it's something like that it becomes all hands on deck. And everyone knows that the biggest evil comes from some of the smallest motivations. Whether they be selfish of selfless.
>>
>>5391185
I will give you the benefit of the doubt and retract my accusation of rail roading because I like your writing. I think you do a good job and I've been here since thread one.

However I think this is widely out of character for Chaya and am disappointed.
>>
>>5391185
It's not what I'm expecting to come out. Only stating what we have to do if the worst-case scenario happens. Madness and Rage like what she has can corrupt a person, especially with the tools she has on board. All it takes is one little snap for everything to come tumbling down.
>>
>>5391185
I'd be mad, but looking back on our choices and thought processes, yeahh you have a point. Mechikabura told us WAYYY back, and in hindsight we were still using our Parent Pants instead of our Cool Dad pants. But I will say that I'd rather stick to my values and not get the best outcome than throwing away all pretenses to try and metagame for a good ending. We didn't have the best outcome, but I feel like I made the right choice to go about things. Its up to the dice at that point.
>>
>>5391199
He didn’t do much to persuade her. After all, Chaya’s seen you take the holocron for your own training, and knows what they are thanks to the late Guardian’s.
She does have no idea what she’s in for. But will Bane actually be able to corrupt her beyond what she’s willing to do?

>>5391546
Right? Who’d have thought the daughter who’s only socializing from a young age when the Covenant destroyed New Salda was Punished Karn, then reclusive neet Towa and her Mira until long after her formative years, isn’t exactly good with people skills? Punished Karn was in no condition to teach her anything beyond keeping her alive and Towa isn’t exactly a social butterfly either. That was a nuke waiting to go off if left unsupervised.
>>
>>5391580
Poor Raditz though, he kinda likes/loves her though he may not 100% understand what love is, then he gets a message likes this. It must hitnhim hard and I hope the lad has someone he can talk with, assuming he wouldnt try going to planet Yardrat himself in the hopes of finding Chaya.
Still, Chaya might be unhappy that we attacked her very reason of living, its mot like we didnt tell her before that the title of champion means jackshit, she’s only champion because the stronger ones let her be one by not participating in the dreadzone.

Ah shit, we probably need to give Tanya a heads about how Chaya is being stubborn and now is holding a grudge against her. Though it makes me wonder, if it was not Chaya but lets say Raditz, Broly or someone else either in the family or friends she has beat her, would she still react the same?
>>
>>5391412
>But will Bane actually be able to corrupt her beyond what she’s willing to do?
It's not Bane I'm worried about. It's literally the dark side. It does dank shit if you let it.
>>
>>5391630
>Ah shit, we probably need to give Tanya a heads about how Chaya is being stubborn and now is holding a grudge against her.
Do we though? While Tanya is by no means an enemy, it's not like she's our problem.
It should be pretty obvious that Chaya wouldn't just take this lying down anyhow. Chaya's probably aware that a rematch is gonna happen at some point, but she's probably woefully ignorant of just how strong Chaya could potentially become in the next few years.
>>
>>5391640
Meant to say Tanya in that last sentence, not Chaya.
>>
All I know is I'm going to vote to Divine Dragon Force Banes Holocron after this. I don't give a fuck what kind of excuse he gives but tempting our daughter is a no go, no matter how retarded shes being.

RIP Bane, you were a good teacher, but you crossed the one line you know should never be crossed.

And GD don't even try and excuse this, Bane knows The Fucking Rules, the second Chaya touched that holocron Bane should have told her to fuck off, he did not, so now its his ethereal neck on the chopping block.
>>
>>5391630
He’s going to be going through that first real heartbreak.
She didn’t care that family beat her in fights, since she knew it was possible. Hell she lost both the New Salda youth tournament and the 2v2 to Chilli. But she popped right back up again. Now if one of her siblings took her Champion title then everyone told her it was stupid and to drop it, probably would react similarly. Although she would have already thrown down with them to get hers back.
>>5391638
He’d be far more careful. He already lost one potential candidate by going too deep too quickly, he wouldn’t risk Karn’s unholy wrath by destroying his daughter. Especially since he knows HOW Instant Transmission works, thanks to being in your head for so long.
>>5391640
Tanya is aware of how Chaya’d react, but was surprised she hasn’t come back raising hell yet. But the longer it takes, the beefier Dreadzone’s security gets to prevent mindlessly angry Saiyan invasion
Don’t underestimate how powerful she now is, with Being X’s former power under her control
>>
>>5391729
>He already lost one potential candidate by going too deep too quickly
Still not what I'm getting at.
>>
>>5391729
Alright here's the important question here.
Why does Chaya THINK she lost? We already know the actual reason, but I wanna know what she's fixated on.
>>
>>5391729
>He’s going to be going through that first real heartbreak
;_; They were so cute together, will he wait or will he give up on her and find someone else? Nonetheless it shows how much damage Chaya caused with her stunt, time to learn King Cold’s ancient spanking technique for when she comes back.
>>
>>5391763
I think there's a decent chance Raditz will try to get back with Chaya or die trying.
Whether or not Chaya has moved on when they meet again is another thing entirely.
>>
>>5391728
It is something you could choose to do, if you’re okay with all the consequences it entails.
>>5391742
What I’m saying is Bane would control her dive into the depths of the Dark Side, not letting her go deeper than she can handle. He’s raised a powerful apprentice before, after all.
>>5391757
>why
Because she underestimated Tanya’s destructive power, her underhandedness to set the whole ancient gears up as a weakening tactic, and she didn’t take the fight seriously enough. She KNOWS she could have won that fight in a few seconds had she been playing for keeps.
>>5391763
That’s up to him I reckon, how willing is he to give up on her.
>>
>>5391780
You can't blame anons for being wary when the majority of Sith are malicious to the point of stupidity. It's hard to remember that Bane is anything but retarded.
As for Chaya's reasoning, has she thought about how and why it even got to that point? Has she also figured out that just about everybody saw her loss coming from a mile away?
>>
>>5391780
>not letting her go deeper than she can handle
Oh yes, because telling the kid currently doing hard rebellion that they need to be cautious always works. Because the dark side itself isn't a feel-good sort of fuckery like heroin. Because people with something to prove never ever EVER overreach in spite of odds and opposition. Man whatever.

Acting all like everyone is being unreasonable. Shiiiiieeeet.

Not even close, and were it any other Sith immediate panic would be warranted. But were it any other Sith Karn would have already smashed it. Bane has more than DOUBLE Cold’s lifespan in experience dealing with the deepest depths of the Dark Side. And he damn well knows he can’t STOP Karn, so won’t risk letting harm come to Chaya.

I'm NOT saying Bane is the concern. He's what'll be keeping her from diving too deep too quickly. Because she took the holocron, he knows it's HIS ass that'll perish forever if anything happens to Karn's daughter. And dying forever is exactly the opposite of his plan.
>>

>>5392094
Above all else, Bane wants to live forever. And not just as a shade in a holocron, oh no. He wants to have flesh and blood again. Having a vengeful Karn after you is a surefire way to ensure you die a painful death.
>Emo Daughter
Ha. Could be a fun what-if.
>>5392095
Probably not. However, every time you touched the holocron the actual Bane learned what the imprint in your head knows of you. So, he damn well knows what happens to anyone who threatens Karn's children

No. But remember, in character you have no idea it's gone yet.

Previously on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

After Chaya's out-of-control power subsided, Karn and his family spent the next week at Towa's place with the half-demon side of his family. But once returning to New Salda, that very night Chaya took a pod and departed from the planet! Karn spoke with Meloka about her departure, his woman telling him that their best option was to let her go. Karn was still unsettled by this event, leaving his bed in the middle of the night and going to the gravity chamber for some training. Mostly to burn off some steam and calm down, but mid-training Cooler suddenly appeared! Karn decked him immediately, then after shutting the chamber down Cooler took him to Cold's planet. To battle his newly-restored father, King Cold. As we rejoin Karn, King Cold has just unleashed his Stand, Under Pressure.

“Under Pressure.” King Cold says authoritatively, the titanic being behind him slamming its fists together. And as soon as they touch, the gravity increases exponentially. Even in your Ascended Berserker form, you're forced down to a knee almost-instantly. “Now. Show me what you can really do.”
“Tch!” you exclaim, fighting against the intense gravity trying to crush you. If you hadn't just come back from training your Ascended Berserker form with Maza at Towa's place, it might have proved too much for you. But you're stronger now, placing your right hand on your knee you push yourself back upright with a grunt. “Hah. Not bad. But if that's all you've got, there's no way you're taking me.”

“Hahaha! Yes, good!” he says enthusiastically, clapping his hands before placing them on the sides of his throne. As he pushes himself up the stone begins cracking from the pressure, surprising you with the fact that he's also seemingly affected by his Stand. Which is confirmed even further as he starts walking down the stairs, each one cracking from the pressure. “That is what I want to see. Show me your power, General Karn, greatest among the Saiyans. Show me the best of what your race has to offer!”

Well? How do you start this?
>Rush in and attack with Djem So, utilizing his enhanced gravity to more easily break down his defenses
>Rush in and attempt the Su Ma in this extremely heavy gravity
>Brace yourself, defend against whatever he tries first to better gauge his strength
>Cold's Stand hasn't moved, so perhaps it's range is limited? So leap back, use your energy attacks to keep distance and see if you can maneuver outside his Under Pressure's range
>Unmovable Energy Body, see if he can even hit you through it

“HAAAAAA!” you roar, emerald aura blazing as you kick off the ground directly towards him. King Cold raises his arms to defend, perpendicular to his body ready to intercept your strike aimed at his head. Swinging your right fist forward with all the power of your back and shoulders, your right crashes down onto his left forearm. And it seems King Cold underestimated you, your strike overpowering his guard and smashing his arm into his own head. The blow staggers the king, who takes a steadying step back. As he does you twist, throwing a left turning kick towards his head on the other side. Again he tries to block your strike with one arm, and again you drive his guard into him. Knocked a step to his left, once more you twist your body around to deliver a full-power uppercut to his jaw. “HRRRAAAAAA!!”

He sees your strike coming and crosses his arms in a sturdier block, but it's not enough to stop you. Your giant fist strikes his guard directly, the force and momentum behind your strike throwing both of his arms up over his head.

“Wh-What?” King Cold says, clearly shocked by your power. Then before he can react you spin counterclockwise, thrusting a heavy left kick directly into his chest. Your blow lands clean, sending him flying back and crashing back into his throne. You had expected the force to send him through the ancient stone seat, shattering it and sending him into the wall. However, he strikes it and instead bounces off, yet somehow still manages to land on his feet. But the instant he does, you're right back on him. King Cold raises both arms defensively as you start raining down heavy overhand blows onto his guard, adding the intense gravity behind each of your strikes as you swing down over and over again. With each heavy, hammering blow you can see it taking him a blink longer to reset his guard each time, Cold clearly has his hands full just defending against your assault, but still managing to keep defending himself without taking much damage. So, after a dozen or so strikes you go in again for the powerful right uppercut. He sees it coming and tightens up his guard but isn't able to stop you. The heavy uppercut easily breaks through his guard and sending his arms straight up once more, leaving his entire body exposed. You've got him now!

“HRRRRAAAAAA!!” you roar, following up the right uppercut with an even stronger left, stepping in and bringing your fist up from below your knees straight into his exposed jaw. Your blow sends the full power of your arm, shoulder, back and legs directly into his head, sending King Cold flying straight up into the ceiling! He crashes hard enough to shake loose dust, the metal bending but not breaking and holding him in place.

“Guh! N-Not bad.” he replies after a moment, pulling himself free and crouching on the ceilling. “Now let's see how you handle THIS!”

King Cold kicks off the ceiling, flying directly for you with no signs of stopping. Then as he's in range, he fires off a straight left punch directly for your chin. You raise your right guard, but his attack was only a feint! Instead he pulls his strike back, twisting and throwing a right kick high towards your temple! At the last second you manage to raise your guard, but nothing happens. You feel your jaw drop a bit as his leg sails harmlessly before you, knee bent and leg not extended out instead of stretching out and making contact. But then you feel it, a tremendous impact directly into your left side! Without looking you realize that it's his tail, yet despite the powerful blow you take the opening. Lowering your left you grab his tail and hold it to you, throwing a heavy right into his exposed lower back and ribs. Your first punch lands true, King Cold's entire body arching back at the impact.

“Guuah!” he cries out as you land another and another strike, but as you draw back for a fourth he roars, ki exploding out of him from all sides. “HOOAAAAAA!!”

You don't keep a hold on that grip, instead letting go and allowing his energy to knock you back instead of trying to fight through it. The force of his Explosive Wave sends you flying, flipping backwards once to land on the long table feet first, sliding to a stop a couple dozen yards from Freeza's father. As you stop he turns around, lowering his right hand from his mouth as he meets your gaze with a grin.

“Djem So. I wasn't expecting you to be so proficient in such an ancient style.” King Cold says, changing up his stance and taking one that's far more unguarded. His body's left side is facing you, left forearm held up vertically while his left is up over his head, hand pointed like a knife towards you. “Perhaps I should respond in kind.”

Well? What now?

I wonder what reboot-timeline Karn would be like.
On the bright side, Divine Dragon Force might actually be capable of protecting Karn from the reboot much like how GER canonically protects Giorno from it.

Even if he doesn't use or practice Za Warudo a single time until he does so again in 'canon', he'd still have over a full minute of stopped time by the big fight of part 6.

Speaking of, will Karn and Chilli notice the time dilation that happens when the finale of Part 6 occurs? If I remember correctly it's implied that it's present across the while universe when it happens.

“Bring it!” you shout, kicking off the table beneath you so hard it shatters as you dash right towards him once more. Again, the moment you're within his range he throws out a left jab. But this time it's not a feint, you narrowly twisting counterclockwise around his outstretched fist. Before he can recover you spin, swinging your left elbow back towards his head. “HAAA!”

You don't see the blow land, but you feel the collision as your elbow crashes into King Cold's form. He staggers from the impact, you pushing off and using that momentum to back flip up and over him. The moment you see him you draw your right knee up, driving it into his shocked face.

“Gyuh!” he exclaims as you feel his nose crunch, King Cold staggering back a couple steps and raising his hands to . As he does you drop to the ground, kicking off directly towards him once more. Before he can recover you draw back and fire off a left cross, Cold taking another step back as your fist hits his jaw. Meanwhile you twist with that momentum, driving your right elbow towards his face. He doesn't see it coming, your blow landing true once again. “Gyah!”

This heavy strike snaps his head back, his entire body arching back and leaving his entire body exposed. So you go to take full advantage of this, twisting around and putting everything you've got behind a heavy left straight at his guts. But just as you've committed, you see a smirk on his face. Oh shit, he baited you! As you swing he bends his knees a bit, lowering his body as he's leaned back, your fist sailing harmlessly over his body as he twists, throwing a very unusual uppercut from his almost horizontal position. It slams full power into your face and nose, snapping your own head back and knocking you away from him.

“You've got power, Saiyan. But your inexperience is showing.” he replies confidently, smirking as he rises up to his full height. He then blasts towards you at full speed, firing off yet another left jab. You take your defensive stance as he approaches, deflecting his strike to the outside with your left forearm. King Cold spins with the momentum, twisting into a tail strike aimed at your head. Which you block with your right forearm, but the moment you do a tremendous impact crush into your guts. You're left breathless from the blow that nearly doubles you over, you see his foot planted firmly heel-first into your abdomen. He then kicks off of you, flipping up horizontally as he draws his left leg back for a powerful, devastating kick.

His spin continues and King Cold drops a powerful turning right kick down at you. But as he does you lean back, against the pain in your gut trying to keep you bent over to protect itself from further damage. But you beat out your primal instincts, dodging away from what would have been a devastating blow against the back of your neck and leaving him wide open. Taking the momentum of your lean you flip back, then kick directly UP at his head with your left leg. The full power of your flip, combined with his body dropping in the gravity combine as your shin slams into the side of King Cold's head, sending him flying.

“Dammit!” he snarls as his body tumbles uncontrollably through the air, actually crashing against his Stand. Who opens its arms to catch him, the intense gravity suddenly and instantly vanishing. The sudden weight off your chest allows you to finally take a breath in, you take the opportunity to catch your breath and recover instead of pushing the attack.
“Haaa, haaah, haaah.” you pant, trying to recover from being winded by that powerful kick as King Cold's Stand lowers him to the ground. The ancient being lands on his feet, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. But as he pulls it away and sees blood, his expression changes. Whereas before he looked rather amused and smug, even during the fight, now he just looks angry.
“Hmph. You bloodied me. It has been a long time since someone's made me bleed. For that, you get to face my true power! One hundred percent of my might! HRRRRRAAAAAAAAA!!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pz-pfVzAU8

His pale aura blazes up around him, veins bulging as his might begins to skyrocket higher and higher. He quickly surpasses you, surpasses Cooler's newfound might, and keeps on climbing as the planet itself trembles before his restored might. You can hear his armor groaning under the strain before it simply shatters, you raise your arms to guard your face from the fragments. Then when you lower them, you see it, King Cold at 100% Full Power.

“Behold, Saiyan! The true, terrible power of the mighty King Cold!” he declares, sparks dancing through his aura as his might is a few times your own, if not a whole 10x. “Now, how about we start round two?”

fair, but all I'm hoping for with that option is to at least whittle him down a bit and get a feel for his movement. Should make then moving in with energy body or tanking with immovable easier. I almost voted for immovable initially, but after the visit to Towa's I'm a little less confident in it's durability.
tbf we were testing it against magical strikes, but...

“If you think that's enough to stop me, you haven't seen anything yet!” you reply, emerald aura blazing up around you as you cross your arms. You pour out everything, using your own full power as you begin drawing it in. Your ki begins hardening and solidifying, turning translucent as you activate your strongest defense: the Immovable Energy Body. Your ki condenses so tightly around you that you are no longer able to move, unable to even open your mouth to speak to him. So you reach out telepathically, challenging him. “Go on. Do your worst.”

“That's quite the defensive technique you have there.” he replies, crouching then launching himself forward. “Let's see just how durable you really are! HAAAA!”

He closes the distance before you could have reacted, if you could move, and slams yet another left jab directly into your face. But your ki tanks the hit, robbing his punch of all of his momentum and force. He looks confused for a second, no doubt thinking that his blow should have done something to you. But you don't feel anything.

“HORYAAAAA!” he bellows, closing in even closer and dropping a right elbow down directly onto your left collarbone. Had your Energy Body not absorbed everything, he'd have no doubt broken you down with that strike. But once again, your Immovable Energy Body does its job and robs his attack of its power. “So, it can absorb even crippling single strikes well. But what about a barrage? “HIYAAYAAYAAYAAYAAYAAYAA!!”

He shouts as he unleashes a barrage of heavy blows to your head, each one too fast to react to and packing enough power to put you down and out of this little fight. But your energy stays strong, repelling and absorbing his blows without you feeling anything more than flicks through it. Then with a final, lunging side kick to the face that still doesn't even budge you, King Cold flips off and lands just outside of his reach.

“Seems that. Haa. That armor won't fall to physical attacks.” he says, sweating a bit. But then he braces himself firmly on the ground, readying himself for something. “Under Pressure.”

Once more his Stand's fists slam together, increasing the gravity once more. King Cold is obviously affected, dropping a few inches as his bulkier body compensates for the increased gravity. But you don't even feel it.

You can feel the gravity pushing against your energy, but your technique is so strong that you don't actually feel it on your body. King Cold raises his eyes expectantly, but to his clear surprise you're seemingly unaffected.

“Tch. Enough of this!” he snarls, raising his left hand and firing a Death Beam directly at your head. You see the attack coming, but trust in your Immovable Energy Body. The beam strikes true, slamming into you right between your eyes. You can actually feel it piercing into your hardened ki, going almost halfway through your energy armor. But your Immovable Energy Body again proves its worth, keeping you alive from an attack that would have no doubt caused severe damage. Once his beam burns out you immediately begin pouring more ki into your armor, repairing the damage from his shot. “Stop cowering and face me!”

He then unleashes a barrage of beams directly at your face and body. Still you trust in your Immovable Energy Body, allowing it to tank several dozen shots across your head, arms, and upper body. Each beam pierces deep into your armor, yet none of them manage to pierce deep enough to harm you.

“Very well. If you won't abandon this defense, let's put it to a true test!” he declares, reaching his right hand straight out. Then from somewhere a small, metallic object flies out, landing firmly in his palm. His hand closes around the weapon, a blade of brilliant blue energy shooting out from the top. He raises the weapon overhead in a perfect Djem So stance, then with practiced precision swings it down. The azure blade swings down directly onto the energy over your right collarbone, your ki stopping it. But only for a moment.

To your shock and horror, you feel his blade cutting through your energy! The blade of light cuts through your armor an inch at a time, forcing you to do something or take serious damage! So, after a moment's thought ready yourself, then all at once end the Energy Body. You draw all of that ki into your right fist as you twist your upper body clockwise, using the Su Ma to try and avoid the blade. Without your hardened energy resisting it, King Cold's blade suddenly swing downward with his full power. You move as fast as you can, but aren't able to wholly avoid it. His azure blade slashes across your chest, burning through the right side of your chest muscles. But it is only a grazing wound, King Cold slamming the superheated blade down into the ground. Leaving him wide open.

“HRRRAAAAAAA!!” you roar, throwing your energy-clad right fist directly into his exposed face. With the full power of your Immovable Energy Body at hand, you smash the entirety of it directly into his face. All that ki detonates, exploding in a tremendous, fiery blast. Everything goes white, your senses all fading away as you're sure you pass out for a time. But then you feel yourself coming to, opening your eyes to find yourself looking up at the ceiling. Pushing yourself up into a sitting position, you see King Cold is no longer standing either, down on a knee. As you watch his body begins rapidly shrinking as he drops his 100% Full Power form.

“Impressive, Saiyan.” he says, smirking despite wincing as he pushes himself back up to his feet. Seeing him do that you do the same, forcing yourself to stand despite your entire body telling you to just lay down and rest. “You're quite the formidable warrior. That was an excellent trap you set for me.”
“That weapon was something else, how was it able to cut through?” you ask him, Cold chuckling before again raising his hand. The weapon jumps up from somewhere behind him to his hand, superheated blade springing to life once more.
“Oh, this old thing? It was the staple weapon of the Order.” he tells you, looking down at it fondly. “The Master will be able to tell you more, once you return to New Salda. I'm sure he'd be enjoyed telling you of their history and construction.”

At this he deactivates the weapon, using his telekinesis to send it out of sight once more.

“Thank you for your time, this was quite the enlightening experience.” he tells you, turning back towards his chair as he starts walking up to sit down once more. Once he's seated, he turns back, steepling his fingers before him. “Before you go, is there anything you wish to ask me?”

"I have a problem that just came up, maybe you can give me an outside opinion." you tell him, sitting on the broken remains of the table as you ponder over how to say it. "It's about the kids."
"Well, I can only speak for what I would do." Cold replies, leaning back with a bemused look on his face. "Go ahead. Tell me your worries."

You ponder over how to say it, thinking over and over. When finally you decide to ask it from his perspective.

"Say your oldest ran away from home. Saying she, he was tired of you telling him that he was always wrong. How would you handle it?"
"That's easy." King Cold replies, a barely hidden malicious edge to his smile. "I would fly after him, drag Cooler's sorry ass back here, and beat it into him that he obeys me no matter what. Even if it kills him."

Which is... Exactly what you'd thought he would say. Cooler may be more powerful than you've ever seen him in this timeline, but you'd heard from both Freeza and King Cold himself an idea of what Cooler was submitted to after the whole “Babidi/Trigon” event. But that doesn't answer your question. You love your daughter, would jump between her and certain death once more for her. You don't want to do that, not unless it is necessary. So you decide to change your approach.

“What if it wasn't Cooler?” you ask him, Cold raising a brow questioningly. “What if Freeza had, I don't know, decided he only wanted to rule over a single planet. But you still wanted him to become the Emperor of the Universe, like you knew he could. Then the planet he's ruling over rebels, all opposing him and leaving him with no choice but to slaughter everyone. Problem solved, right? So you start trying to get him back onto the path to become ruler, but instead he runs away from you. Saying he's tired of your criticisms and calling him stupid for enjoying ruling only one planet, and says he won't come back. What would you do?”

As you finish you look back up at him, seeing King Cold looking down at his hands with a seriously-contemplative look on his face. He doesn't respond, hell he doesn't even move for almost a minute. When he does he sighs out, looking back up to you with an odd expression on his face. Not quite sadness, nor anger or anything else you can identify. But as he begins speaking, his tone is rather melancholic.

cont
>>
>>5392907
“If he sought not dominion over all, I wouldn't push him.” King Cold says, not looking up from his hands. “Were it what makes him happy, I would let him pursue his dreams unmolested and not bring it up for a few decades. It may well have even been a century before I would try pushing him for more, perhaps rule over the star system instead of a single world. As long as he was on my side, not fighting against me nor siding with my enemies, I would let him be.”

He then looks back up at you, his expression pensive.

“Here I go, you're asking for my help but all I was doing was getting all introspective.” he says, shaking it off. “I can deal with my own later.”
“No no, it was a great help.” you answer him feeling more confident in Meloka's idea of letting her go out on her own, rising back to your feet and placing the first two fingers of your right hand back to your forehead. “You've given me a lot to think about.”

“Until next time then. Be well, Saiyan Karn.” he says, then with a thought you reach out telepathically to Meloka through the connection in your wedding rings. You find her mind instantly, focusing on her power through the link you then activate your Instant Transmission. One moment you're in the damaged room you'd sparred King Cold under the effects of his Under Pressure, the next find yourself standing beside your own bed. Meloka's fast asleep once more, all your kids still on world minus Broly are all here asleep with her. Chilli is no doubt still on his world Freeza'd gifted him for his wedding with Megumin, while Tatsu and Tomi are off somewhere in the void of space headed towards their first 'solo' mission. And Chaya is...

You take a deep sigh, still upset with how things turned out with her so far. But you can't change what's happened, all you can do is push forward.

So, what do you do instead?
>Head back to the gravity chamber to continue your workout where you'd left off before reaching back out to Chaya

You ponder what to do for a few moments, when Kayle's nose scrunches up and she starts sleeping more restlessly in the bed. That's when you take a sniff, once again remembering that you're quite burnt from that slash Cold's weapon had dealt you. So, you hover over the ground and head towards the door, sliding it open silently then locking it behind you with telekinesis. You then touch down on the ground, taking quiet but not entirely silent steps as you pace around the ship, thinking. Only to see that the ramp leading outside is just sitting open, seemingly unattended and with no security in place at all.

“This is how we get bullshit like those stupid robots.” you mutter, walking forward. But as you do, a liquid-seeming metal begins rising up out of the very floor. For a split second you're ready to attack, but then you remember it's just Silver's son, Jim. Sure enough, he takes his usual, unassuming shape a couple seconds later, looking at you confused.
“You're up early. Is something wrong?” he asks, immediately growing worried. No doubt your reputation of being up just in time for trouble has spread across the ship.
“No, nothing's wrong.” you say with a sigh, reaching out and patting him on the shoulder. “Did Chaya head past you?”
“Sure did. She said she wasn't coming back tonight, so if something showed up wearing her face, I was to attack it on sight.” he says, you feel a bit relieved. She was at least thinking of protecting her family as she left. But then he continues, and you feel the bottom fall out of your guts. “She was also carrying a second scouter, and that small pyramid you told us all to never touch.”

“She WHAT?!” you shout, Jim taking a frightened step back. As he does, you notice he left a puddle of himself behind, no doubt forming a barrier between the two of you should you charge forward. “Did she seriously take the damned holocron with her?”
“Th-That's what it looked like, sir.” Jim answers, clearly shaken by your outburst. “W-Was I supposed to stop her?”
“No, no. You didn't do anything wrong.” you console the inhuman child, shaking your head as you begin talking more to yourself than him. “I just didn't think she'd take THAT with her. Doesn't she know how dangerous it is?”

But as you say it aloud, what she'd thought to you rings in your mind once more. Her anger at feeling looked down upon as weak and declaring that she wasn't coming back until she was strong. If she took the holocron, then she's clearly already made contact with the ancient Sith dwelling within it, Darth Bane. You need time to process all this.

“Thank you for letting me know.” you tell him, your earlier fire gone as you just feel drained. You need some time to yourself to clear your head. “If anything happens, call out. I'll be just outside.”
“Yes sir!” Jim snaps to a salute, you nodding to him then walking down the ramp. You feel the ground change beneath your soles as you step from the hard metal of the ramp into the sand, you taking a dozen steps to get out from under the ship, then just lay down on the ground looking up at the sky. Just like you had in your youth, which as you have the thought really takes you back. Back to when times were simpler. You didn't have to worry about a family, time travelers, the future, none of it. Your concerns were limited to finding enough food each day with the rest of your fellow villagers, fighting off those damned Tuffles, and whatever trouble you, Nappa, Leyas and Sarada, and Turles would all get into.

As you think back to your youth, focusing on controlling your breathing how the late Guardian had told you to, you feel a smile growing on your face. Remembering back to looking up at the night sky and wondering what those little lights were, and why you couldn't ever fly up far enough to touch them. Remembering back, you then remember the first full moon on Planet Vegeta you'd experienced, transforming with everyone into Oozaru then going out and crushing the Tuffles once and for all, ending the ten year long war. Then the arrival of Freeza, who'd conscripted you and your people into fighting for him across the universe. You remember that first battle you'd fought, fighting alongside all your usual group along with Tatsu, who was in charge. To the day you'd first seen a dragon.

All of you had been blown away by the massive winged lizards. Sure Planet Vegeta had a few lizards running about, but none of them could fly. And none of them were larger than your hand, much less you all or even buildings like the largest ones, breathing fire then charging in with their fangs and claws to tear you all apart. It was the battle you'd earned that scar across your face, narrowly avoiding having your head bitten off by one of the larger ones. You keep going through your memories, remembering the change to four or five man teams and your friends got split up. But you still had Leyas with you, as well as Tatsu. Then you remember Meloka joining, the four of you's two missions before that first fateful battle with the Greys when everything changed for you.

As you lay on the beach breathing, looking up at the starry night's sky but seeing your past, you almost don't notice when someone begins descending from the night sky down towards you. Blinking a couple times, you see that the visitor is-

-King Vegeta, looking determined as he descends down towards you. Following close behind him is his ever-present shadow, the former assassin turned bodyguard Emilia Zoldyck. She's in her smaller, less-conspicuous form, wearing the shoulderpad-less super elite armor over the usual blue full sleeve skintight. You sit up off the ground as he lands before you, Emilia touching down behind him a second later as you rise. But as you do, his eyes fix on the injury on your chest.

“What happened to you? Another assassin?” he asks, raising his gaze to meet yours. You sigh out, unsure of what to tell him. But before you can decide, Emilia speaks up.
“That's a lightsaber injury.” she says, sounding worried. You look to her along with King Vegeta, Emilia flying up to you and almost touching the injury. “Glancing blow, looks like you narrowly evaded the strike. And from the placement, that would have been a killing blow.”
“Long story short? This was courtesy of King Cold.” you say, filling the two of them in on what happened. From King Cold's restoration to Chaya's enraged departure, you don't hold anything back from your first student. You've been a mentor figure for him for years; he's lived and trained with you since he was younger than Caulifla is now. You have nothing to hide from him. By the end of telling your tale and how you've handled it, you do feel better about the situation. “And that's what I've been dealing with this morning.”

“Damn.” King Vegeta says, shaking his head. “I felt her taking off, as there wasn't an authorized launch for that time. But when I felt her ki leaving, I just dropped it. Figured it was you sending her off somewhere, but I guess not.”
“So what about you?” you ask him. “I'm sure you're not here just to talk with me about familial problems.”
“Well, about that.” he says, Emilia snorting as she takes a couple steps away. Her reaction causes you to raise a brow, looking from her back to King Vegeta curiously. “Familial problems are a good way to put it. I may be called king, but I'm no true king. Not yet.”
“Not yet?” you ask, confused. “What, is someone challenging you for the throne?”
“HA! Were it so simple.” he replies, shaking his head and giving you an almost nervous-sounding chuckle. “No, this is about the duty of a king I've yet to fulfill. Producing a worthy heir to inherit the throne.”

“An heir?” you ask him, genuinely surprised. “Aren't you a little young to be considering that, Vegeta?”
“Perhaps. But in matters like this, age isn't really relevant.” he says, his tone unexpectedly serious. “So, I need to decide how to find a mate.”
“You're asking me how to help you find a worthy mate?” you ask, feeling a little incredulous. “Me? Really?”
“Well, if I were to ask anyone, how about the man with the strongest infant on New Salda? But no, I already have a plan.” he tells you with a chuckle. “I've been thinking about this for a while now, how I would find someone to create a strong family line with? And, thanks to Emilia's insight, I now have the perfect solution. I will be holding a tournament, the 'Queen of New Salda' tournament to find the strongest Saiyan bride fit for a king.”

“A tournament? So, you're going to hold a tournament and what? Take the winner to be the queen?” you ask him, King Vegeta nodding once. “And that's it?”
“Indeed. The only duty of king I have not yet fulfilled is continuing the royal line.” he tells you seriously. “The plans for this are already in motion and the tournament will begin in a couple months. I was hoping that you would be present for this as a referee and your daughter Caulifla would be on standby as well, keeping everyone in fighting shape until it is done. So, what do you think?”

Well?
>Agree of course, you think this is a good idea and will help him out however you can
>Ask why he's holding a tournament for this, instead of just going out and finding someone he likes and likes him back
>Tell him you'll certainly be there if he wants but wouldn't make a good referee for an all-female tournament, not as good as your wife would be instead
>Let him know you doubt that this is a good idea, but you won't stop him if he goes through with it. He's an adult and has to make his own decisions

"Why are you doing all this?" you ask him seriously. "Why hold a tournament and go through all this instead of just, I don't know, going out and finding someone you like who likes you back? Like Cha-Chilli did with Megumin?"
“The Saiyan King doesn't marry someone for their personality's sake, or how much he likes them.” he replies seriously, no hint of irony in his voice. “The role of the Saiyan Queen is to produce powerful heirs, to raise them into worthy princes.”

“That was the role of the Saiyan Queen, back on Planet Vegeta.” you tell him. “That doesn't mean such traditions necessarily need to be brought to this world as well.”
“I've spent the last few weeks thinking this over and it is for the best.” he answers you. “Many of the old traditions have been done away with by my hand, but this is not one of them. The Saiyan King must always be a powerful warrior.”
“Even if you don't have the same sort of life I live?” you ask him.
“Yes, Karn. Being the king means I have many things I must consider, including the future of our race a hundred years from now.” he says seriously, his expression reminding you that he is now the King of the Saiyans, not the young, arrogant boy you'd first started teaching. “One's personal potential happiness doesn't compare to the duty of ensuring the survival of our race. Ensuring the strength of the future generations to battle whatever madness comes for us next.”

As he makes his declaration, you can almost feel his determination and resolve radiating off of him. Even Emilia notices it, yet you do notice a look you can't quite place on her face for just a moment. It wasn't pride in him, or respect, or devotion, but you can clearly tell she feels such ways for him. But something more. However, she noticed you looking and immediately turned her face to a blank, unreadable mask. King Vegeta notices the exchange, looking from her to you curiously. So, you decide to just go out and ask the question on your mind.

“What about Emilia?” you ask him directly. His expression changes, the king smiling at the corner of his mouth. But something about his eyes isn't smiling, giving you the feeling that you just touched on a rather sore subject.

1X to 20-somethings, you mean? Considering Saiyans remain in their prime far longer, I believe several of the stronger even mid 30-somethings wouldn't hesitate to compete as well. Who wouldn't want to be Queen of the Saiyans and mother to the next King, after all? Aside from Meloka, who has no such aspirations.

Or can you? Between running New Salda, dealing with all the PTO regulatory stuff and his own trainings, he has no time for much else besides sleeping and eating. Which he may not be doing enough of, as evidenced by him being up at this hour to sense Chaya's flight.

“What about Emilia?” he asks you, brows furrowing. “Are you insinuating there is something going on between us?”
“Honestly? Yes. I thought there was something between both of you.” you tell him, watching both of their reactions. She remains completely stoic and blank faced, whereas he blushes red enough to be clearly visible to you even in the dark of pre-dawn morning. “But you're determined to follow through with this?”
“I am.” he responds resolutely. “I have to think of the future, not just myself. The fate of the entire Saiyan race could depend on the choices I have made and will make in the future. So I'm going to make every choice that damn well ensures we survive, to give future generations a fighting chance to deal with their problems.”

“And you agree with him on this?” you ask Emilia, whose expression remains totally passive as she speaks.
“If it is his will. I will protect his life, as well as the lives of his children and mate. And concubines, should he take any.” she says, causing him to blush a little more.
“Well, if you both feel that way, I won't try and change your minds.” you say to them, then surprise Vegeta by giving him a proper Saiyan salute. “Whatever you need from me, my king. I will do my best to support you.”
“That is all I can ever ask for.” he answers. “Once I have the exact date and time worked out for it, I'll let you know.”

“Is this really all you came to ask me about?” you then ask, catching Vegeta by complete surprise. He freezes in place, Emilia stifling a laugh behind him. “Or is there something else?”
“Hah, I should have known.” he replies with a sigh, turning and drawing something you can't quite see in this dark and pitches it to his shadow. He tells her she was right before turning back to you, expression far more serious. “Yes. Something I've been worried about for some time. Back when that monster Lobo attacked at the last tournament, you tapped into power far greater than the Super Saiyan 3 you showed me before. Was that....Was that really the power you plan on facing Lord Beerus with?”

Well? How do you answer?
>Yes, once the God ritual is used, I'll have that form's full power. Not the small taste of it I got then.
>Yes and no. I don't plan on facing Lord Beerus alone. I want you with your Primal power and Meloka wielding the might of gods both by my side, hopefully Lord Freeza's Golden power too when the time comes. If we all work together, I think we can take him

“Well, yes and no.” you say, looking down at your right hand as you clench it into a fist. “I don't plan on facing Lord Beerus alone.”
“Right, because Meloka will be the one taking on the power of a Super Saiyan God.” he answers you. “With the two of you fighting together, you might be able to take him.”
“Maybe. But I wouldn't want to chance it.” you say, looking up to him. “I'm going to need you for that fight as well.”
“Me? Really?” he asks you, genuinely surprised. “You think my Primal form's power can compete with a god?”

“It will at least be able to put up a fight.” you tell him. “I don't think that the Destroyer wants to erase us, he didn't give that impression years ago. But he seemed genuinely curious just how powerful the Super Saiyan God really was. So when he gets here, I want to show him the full power of it, my own next-level power, your Primal form, and hopefully Freeza's Golden form as well. If the four of us take him on, working together, I think we can actually take him.”
“Defeating the Destroyer. If we could do such a think, it might keep any future threats from trying their luck.” he says, pondering what you said. “Looks like I need to redouble my own training efforts.”

“Not today you don't.” Emilia says, speaking up as she steps forward. “You're almost on hour thirty seven, King Vegeta. Before you do anything else, you're going to get some shut-eye.”
“She's right, you need to rest.” you tell him. “The last thing you need is being too tired to make rational decisions. We're all counting on you and need you in peak mental and physical shape.”
“Haaah, you're right. You both are right.” he says, seemingly deflating as he exhales. “There's just always so much to do, I don't have enough time in the day.”
“Is there any way I can help?” you ask him seriously. “I know how this sounds, coming from be, but you don't have to do everything by yourself.”

“Maybe.” he says non-commitally, trying to stifle a yawn. But you clearly see it, and so does Emilia. “But we can talk about that another time. You both are right, I do need to sleep. Once I've got the schedule ready I'll let you know.”

He then lifts up into the air, Emilia following him and the two fly off back towards the city. Leaving you alone on your island once more.

“A tournament to find a queen, huh?” you mutter to yourself, shaking your head. As you stand there the sun begins to rise, a new day dawning on New Salda.

You return to your usual schedule, going about your days as normal. The ship feels a little more empty now without Chaya, Chilli, Tatsu, and Tomi, but you do your best to keep moving forward. At first your kids, especially Broly was shocked to learn she'd left the planet off on her own. But over time they, as well as you got used to the new routine. Days turn to weeks as you keep training them, raising them up to be the best versions of themselves, and before you know it a whole month has passed since Chaya's departure. You know it was a month by the message you received from Towa, letting you know you all could return.

“Are you ready?” she asks you one day after you'd finished another session of pushing your students. “Enough time has passed, you all can return.”
“That sounds great.” you'd replied, adding Meloka into the telepathic call. “We're ready.”
“But, are you?” she asks. “All of you?”

"I believe that would be up to Chaya herself." you tell her honestly. You'd of course want to see your daughter join you all, having your entire family all in one place would be nice. But ultimately that's up to her. "She's old enough to make her own decisions, and live with the consequences."
"Very well." Towa answers, not seeming the least bit surprised as she ends the mental link. You turn to Meloka, who's already gathering your younger kids around her for the jump. You join them, then an instant later everything changes. You're no longer standing on the roof of one of the gravity chambers that has served you and your students well, but instead you all are back inside Towa's lab.

“Dad!!” Milha and Koruza shout, both of your youngest half-demon children throwing themselves at you. You catch them both, the combined might of their tackle almost knocking you over. But with a step back to regain your balance you remain upright, hugging them both to you. “I missed you!”
“Missed both of you two.” you say to them, holding the two for a moment longer before setting them both down. “Maza. Good to see you.”

“You too father.” he says, still in his Primal Demon form. He reaches out with a hand, which you take, then pull him into a hug as well. He protests a bit at this, but doesn't fight back or try to push himself away. After a few seconds you let him go, Maza taking a couple steps back to keep from getting grabbed again. Then you see Future Chaya, and immediately realize something's different with her. You aren't sure what it is, maybe something in the way she carries herself or walks, but she seems a lot older to you than she did just a month ago.

“Hey kiddo.” you say, reaching out and ruffling her hair. She doesn't even protest, just hugs you wordlessly. Then when she pulls back, you can see that she's almost on the verge of tears. “Everything okay?”
“I'm sorry, it's all my fault.” Future Chaya tells you, her chin quivering. “If it wasn't for me, then Chaya-”
“No, I have to thank you.” she says, you both turning and seeing her.

“If you hadn't attacked me as you did, I wouldn't be mo-.” she says, your daughter standing there transformed, but before she can finish her sentence she's tackled by her siblings. They pile on her, knocking her to the ground. Which you're unable to do anything but laugh at, and even hear your eldest daughter laughing underneath her siblings as well. Which is a welcome sound, one that you've really missed this past month.

But while you're here, spending the week as you have before with each of the half-demon kids, what do you do in regards to Chaya?
>Leave her be, don't intrude on her business but don't ignore her either

"Hey, Chaya. Want to join me in my training?" you ask her after the first night's supper. As you ask her, she immediately gets her guard up, eyes narrowing as she looks at you. "I'm going to be getting some serious practice in on my Djem So, want to join me? We have the same teacher now, after all."
“I dunno.” she responds, looking down and away from you. “I might.”
“Well, the offer still stands if you change your mind.” you say, not forcing her to join you and instead keep walking towards the nearby training room. “I'm sure Bane could teach us both at the same time.”

You'd then left her to her business, going on to your own training. The first night you trained by yourself, Bane's shade instructing you through the Djem So technique. But the second evening, after you were about halfway through, your Chaya joined you. And to your surprise, she'd actually brought the holocron along with her into Towa's realm. She sets the ancient artifact down, the spirit of the Sith Lord rising from it once more.

“Well, well, this is quite the surprise.” he says, looking between the two of you. “Father and daughter together in one room.”
“Let's get to it.” she says, you try your best to hide your smile.
“Very well. Let us begin.” he instructs. The two of you train together under Bane's tutelage for an hour that night, as well as every night the rest of the week while you all are together. But you spend at least two hours with each of your half-demon children, training with Maza and Milha.

But with Koruza it's different. Your youngest half-demon son doesn't need training as much as someone he can talk with, both he and Dark Rider enjoying the time conversing with so many people who can see and talk with them. They also help Okira, your youngest daughter becoming more outgoing and talking more with her half-demon brother who can address both herself and Imagine Dragon. All in all, the week you spent in Towa's realm was quite enjoyable. Everyone seemed happier during the week, but as the last day draws to a close, everyone's high spirits seem to noticeably drop.

“Can't we stay longer?” Okira asks you at the end of the seventh day, a frown on her face. “I don' wanna go back yet.”
“I'm so sorry, but that's impossible.” Towa tells her, placing a blue hand on your youngest's head. “But you'll be back again, in just one month, right? We'll see you again soon.”
“Okaaay.” she says, you smile at her reaction. Time to go back home.

You all return to your own timeline, returning back to your usual schedule. Everything proceeds as normal, day after day playing out mostly the same. The days turn to weeks, but before it's time for you all to return to Towa's, King Vegeta reaches out to you.

“Everything's set. The tournament will begin tomorrow, first thing at the larger arena your kids built.” he says after landing beside you, your students looking up and muttering to themselves after being dismissed for the day. “Are you still good to be the referee for this?”

"Tomorrow? I reckon I can give them a day off; they've been working hard the past couple of months." you say, looking down to your students who you still haven't left. So you call down to them all, giving them the news to spread. “Alright, looks like you all get the day off tomorrow. So I hope to see you all back the day after, ready to put twice the work in.”
“SIR!” they all shout, saluting to you. You return the gesture, then turn back to King Vegeta only to notice his shadow, Emilia behind him.

“So, what're the rules?” you ask him. “If I'm in the middle of this, I need to know what is and is not allowed.”
“A tournament?” Caulifla asks, looking over curiously. “What kinda tournament? Is Chaya gonna come back for it?”
“This is the 'Queen of New Salda” tournament.” King Vegeta tells her. “So I can find, aside from your mother, who will be the strongest.”
“So cool!” she says, but before she can say anything else her entire body begins glowing blue once more. “I'll be back in a minute! Clothes Beam!”

Caulifla then hits herself with a blinding flash of light, then once it fades you see she's changed her entire uniform. The training she's been doing with Cell for the past two weeks you've spent in Towa's realm paying dividends. Her suit has been replaced by what seems to be a metallic suit of armor, cape flowing behind her as she reaches out. The golden spear flies up from the ground where she'd left it, the weapon landing in her open right palm. As she grabs onto the weapon, setting the butt of the spear on the ground she transforms into a Super Saiyan. Then she freezes in place, completely unmoving.

“....Huh. That's different.” he says, looking at Caulifla for a moment longer before shaking his head, turning back to you. “Anyway, rules. Right. No killing is allowed, touching down on the stands or anywhere outside the ring is an automatic loss. No limits on transformations or being down for a ten count to lose for this one, unlike back in the kids' tournament.”
“Seems pretty straightforward so far.” you say, but something tells you that this isn't all. He's still holding something back. “Anything else, or is that it?”

“Just one more thing.” he says with a grin. “This one won't be a tournament with a bracket, dozens upon dozens of one-on-one fights deciding the strongest. This will be a battle royale. Everyone fighting all at once in a massive free-for-all for dominance."

QM UPDATE/QUESTIONS

Schedule update for you all, as of right now. Episode 182 will start this coming Saturday the 10th at the usual time but will NOT be running that Sunday the 11th. Then the next weekend, the 17th and 18th I will NOT be running for personal reasons. SCQ 182 will continue the weekend after that, the 24th and 25th of this month.
Now, question time. Are you enjoying this arc? Enjoying the pace we've been hitting, along with the plot? Ready to see where it goes? We've been tying up a lot of loose quests you all have picked up from the last arc, as well as those introduced in this one. After this tournament, the time skips will really start kicking in. Just a bit of in-game scheduling, once this tournament concludes, next month will be Tatsu and Tomi's mission, then after that the Remnants will 'fall' into Arctus's trap. After that Freeza will touch down on Namek, which will be the end of the arc before the more serious, big chunk of time timeskips. Are you ready?

>Why wouldn't she? She'd already learned the basics from you before that one big fight.
Because she might start to feel weird about training alongside Karn when she just had an emotional confession about feeling smothered and disrespected by him.
I wrote in to invite show she's a peer to grow besides as opposed to a student to train, but it's a 50/50 as to whether or not she'll take it that way.

To further elaborate on a potential lightsaber;
They're clearly effective even at the level we're at right now, so I don't think they'll ever get phased out completely. We also have access to insane RnD and plenty of magical artifacts to augment a saber as time goes on.
Also, our two main sword styles were designed specifically with lightsabers in mind, so it would obviously synergize with our fighting style extremely well.
Then there's the Lightsaber in combination with the Wolf Knight's Greatsword. If we designed a lightsaber that was just long enough to be effectively used two handed in Karn's base form, then it would probably be short enough to where it would also be a decent off-hand weapon in Karn's Berserker forms.
I'm also pretty sure we would be able to abuse some of the properties of a properly attuned Khyber Crystal, but that's up to GD.
>>
>>5394427
>>5394471
Combine the tech with the Covenant's gauntlet-mounted Energy Daggers. Acquire something that's difficult to disarm you of, something that won't obstruct you in day to day life that you can carry pretty much whenever, something that doesn't run off your own ki and is still plenty of insanely powerful in its own right, and most importantly something that can be very easily used with our current unarmed styles.
Doesn't add another sword into the mix, just augments our bare-knuckle brawling VERY well. And I'm certain it can be adapted to work with the sword styles pretty decently, since it is still energy that extends a bit outward - just not all that far out.
>>
>>5394427
>>5394471
It is great against almost all defenses, but the weapon does have several downsides. Including that it can be taken and used AGAINST you.
>>
>>5394505
Would you believe there's actually more than a few Sabers with built-in security features?
The most common being force actuated ignition switches and biometric scanners.
>>5394504
I like the idea, but consider how the usage of the wrist differs between a sword style and an unarmed style.
You can translate a lot of the principles, as Karn clearly demonstrates, but at the end of the day it's still a style centered around swords/lightsabers specifically.
>>
>>5394529
There's no downside to getting it and having it for when you need it though. It's just a surprise tool that will help us later.
Plus if you combine it with an actual lightsaber you have something that can block it when the actual lightsaber is inevitably stolen.
>>
>>5394579
I'm sure Cold and The Guardian would make Karn well aware of materials like Beskar and Cortosis. Even if we don't find those specific minerals, I'm sure we could reinforce our gauntlets with another suitable material.
Sidenote, I wonder how the Sangheili's energy swords stack up to lightsabers.
>>
>>5394529
Don’t get me started down that rabbit hole. I spent too many years on lore diving before the mouse destroyed that franchise.
>>5394592
>Sidenote, I wonder how the Sangheili's energy swords stack up to lightsabers.
Edge to edge, the Covenant Energy Sword would burn through its reserves of power first. But neither would cut through the energy of the other, due to the differences in offensive vs defensive energy. A Covenant Energy Sword, swung by a full-power King Cold, would have also no doubt cut deep into your Immovable Energy Body as well.

To say half of SS13 players literally stew in their shit as they roleplay a moth doctor trying to create an army of pod people all so they can kill all the cats so they stop knocking lightbulbs off of counters and breaking them as cats do is not hyperbole.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest 181 Epilogue-

AGE 750, CRIMSON DEMON VILLAGE OUTSKIRTS

“Chilli, hun. You still examining that cyrstal sword?” Megumin calls, you lowering the magnifying glass and turning to the staircase just in time to see her hat poking up. You watch as she walks up with a tray in her hands, steaming kettle and a couple cups on it. Megumin smiles as she finishes climbing the stairs, bringing the drinks over to you and setting them down on the table between you and the sword. Leaning back you let her pour both drinks before taking one, giving her an appreciative nod and clanking the crystal glasses together. You drink the freshly brewed tea together, sighing out contentedly as you finish your glass. She does the same, then leans in and licks at the corner of your lips before pulling back with a giggle. “Missed some.”

“Heh, thanks.” you reply with a smile of your own, then notice she's not in her usual wear but her pajamas. “What time is it?”
“Sundown.” she answers, refilling the glasses. “You've been up here all day with that thing. Is it really that interesting?”
“More than I'd thought.” you say, reaching out and grabbing the magnifying glass. You hand it to her, then once she takes it you conjure a blade of crystal similar to the sword your father had gifted you. “Here, look closely at this.”
“Okaaay?” she asks, a bit hesitantly. But she puts her drink down, and looks close at the crystal weapon you'd created in its image. “What am I looking at?”

“Look at the structure of my crystals, how they look close-up.” you tell her. “See how everything's all symmetrical and angular?”
“Uh huh.” she answers, you dispelling the magic holding the blade together and it disintegrates. You then reach over beside the table, grabbing the large dragon leg bone you'd carved into a similar shape to the one on the table. Just without all the adornments. “What's that?”
“One of the dragon bones I carved into a sword blade.” you tell her, holding it as you held the crystal weapon. “Just take a look. I promise it'll all make sense.”

She peers close at the bone blade, looking it over for several seconds before pulling back, a confused look on her face. She doesn't get it, not yet. But she's about to, you setting the weapon you'd carved aside then carefully grasping the faintly-glowing azure sword. You hold it out just as you had the other two, Megumin peering close at it. She doesn't say anything immediately, but you see it. Her eyes widen in surprise as she recognizes what you have. She lowers the magnifying glass, looking at you with wide, shocked eyes.

“I-Is that what I think it is?” she asks, disbelief evident on her face.
“Yeah. This sword is made out of some sort of dragon bone.” you reply, hefting the weapon and setting it back on the holder you'd created on the table. “But what kind of dragon has bones this steeped in some sort of magic? Even after all this time?”
“What do you mean?” she asks, you telling her where your dad and Aku had found the weapon. Buried in an Abyssal trench under the sea, behind a door it took your old man's FULL POWER to open. “Whoever sealed that away really didn't want it ever being seen again.”

“Yeah.” you say, looking into the etchings on the faintly-glowing blade. “Tomorrow I'm gonna take it out for a spin, and see what it-”
“ALERT! DEMON KING'S ARMY DETECTED!” calls out the automated alert from the speaker hooked up on the second floor. “OVER ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND ESTIMATED HOSTILES APPROACHING.”
“Haaah, looks like I'm testing it out tonight.” you say with a sigh, rising up to your feet. With the pull of your telekinesis draw your robe to you, putting it on as Megumin sighs out. She rises up to her feet as well, you drawing both of your staves up the stairs into your open left hand. “Here hun. Just in case.”

She takes the staff you'd made for her those years ago, you grabbing your wide-brimmed hat and putting it on your head before lifting the ancient dragon bone sword your father had gotten you into your right hand.

“Well, let's see what the trouble is this time.” you say. Now armed, you both climb up the stairs onto the roof to observe the approaching enemy. With the sun going down, there is just enough light to see an approaching mass moving slowly towards your tower. But once you're outside the protection of your home, you can feel a wave of nauseating energy wash over you. Megumin feels it too, your wife nearly falling over. Luckily you manage to catch her with your left, holding her to your side as the massive army of what is no doubt undead marches on your home.

“What the hell?” you mutter, feeling necromantic energy of an intensity you've never encountered before. Even when you'd wiped out that underground cavern of undead to build your staff, the magic seeping into the very walls and floor, there hadn't been this much of it. Whatever created this massive army is a powerful necromancer indeed. “You okay Megu? You can go back inside if you need to.”
“I-I'm fine.” she says, getting her legs back underneath her and standing up. “Just...Just got me by surprise is all. Should I blow them all away right now? I-I can take them all out, with one shot!”

“Appreciate it, but not yet hun.” you tell her. “I'll need your power to give me a way out, if things get too hairy down there.”
“You're really going down there, down into...That?” she asks, her worry clear both in her voice and all over her face. So you lean over, planting a gentle kiss on her lips for a second or two before pulling back. “Trying to sweep me off my feet won't work this time.”
“Of course. But I'm the only one who CAN.” you answer her, sliding your staff into its concealed spot inside your robe before taking the dragon bone sword in both hands. “I'm going into the midst of their forces, to slow them down while everyone else attacks the side close to the village as usual. Let me know if anything changes on their side, and if you see anything else coming, will you?”

“I will.” Megumin says, reaching out with both arms and hugging you tight for several seconds before pulling herself back. “But, are you sure you want to take that down there? An untested weapon?”
“Hmmmm. You're right.” you reply, setting the weapon down and leaning it against the tower wall. “I should stick with a weapon I'm more attuned to. Blue Flame!”

Calling the name of your magical sword and reaching out with telekinesis, you draw the weapon up directly to you. It shoots up from the floor below you, zipping up the stairwell and flying directly into your open right palm. Blue Flame's hilt hits your hand exactly right, you swinging it behind your back and binding the sheath to your back with a small bit of crystal magic. Once the sheath is secured you draw your weapon in your right hand. This feels better, more right. THIS is your sword, the one you faced down certain death with and survived. No matter what else you fight, it could never compare to that....thing.

“That's more your look hun.” Megumin says, stepping up and kissing you for a few seconds before pulling back. “Please be safe.”
“I will.” you reply, drawing back out your staff in your left before walking to the edge of the crenelations and leaping off of your tower. Then with a thought and whisper of effort take flight, soaring through the darkening skies towards the mass of undead. Who take no notice of your approach, mindlessly marching towards the village. But as you get closer, you see that they are not the simple undead you've faced before. Wearing uniform scraps of cloth and armor that looks as if it was made for them, carrying large, undulating metal swords in their right hands and heavy-seeming tower shields in their left, these undead each easily stand as tall as your old man, or even taller. And as you look down upon them, you suddenly recognize these abominations from your Tome Jergal had bestowed upon you: they're Death Knights!

“No wonder I could sense you all from the tower.” you mutter to yourself as you pass over the first couple dozen lines of undead. Death Knights are undead constructs made from the corpses of the living; far stronger, faster, and more durable than normal undead. Not only that, but they have supernatural abilities that make them even more difficult to deal with. Most important and annoyingly is their Undead Resilience, an ability that allows a Death Knight to take a single fatal blow without falling. Had Megumin unleashed her Explosion, the entire army would have survived and remained standing. Then, with this much negative energy hovering in the air, they would have all fully recovered before the rest of the Crimson Demons could start attacking. Such troublesome creatures. “But what's bothering me is who summoned all of you? Summoning so many powerful undead would have cost so many lives, I'm sure I would have sensed something from the tower.”

Your home, and it's placement, are no accident. You hadn't chosen the mountain you'd built it on just for the view. After all, this mountain is directly above a confluence of ley lines. Building it upon such a confluence not only made creating the tower far easier, as you were able to draw upon the natural magic of the world and weren't required to burn through your own magic stores to create it. Not only that, but the ley lines' magic fuel your tower, hardening and reinforcing the crystal structures while keeping the magic holding it together from ever decaying as well. If your home ever sustained damage, this magic confluence would regenerate the crystals as well. Making your home a permanent addition to this world.

“With those ley lines running through it, I should have been able to sense this much death running throughout the world. Especially if it were all at once.” you mutter, finding a gap in their forces and dropping down to the ground. Nothing is fired against you, no magic nor physical projectiles and you're allowed to land in their midst. But once you do, they all stop moving. The ENTIRE force of undead stops instantly, the monsters all turning to face you. No doubt sensing your vitality amongst this sea of necromantic energy. “But no matter. I must focus on the enemy before me, and crush them with all my might!”

“Well said, boy.” a deep man's voice calls out into the silence, catching you by complete surprise. You hadn't seen anyone who wasn't one of those undead. “Let us see what you can do. Death Knights! Attack!”

“Bring it! Crystal Magic: Crystal Blade!” you roar, swinging your Blue Flame while creating a sword of magical crystal around your staff. The closest Death Knight swings as well, your blades clashing. However, a simple, weak undead construct is no match for your power, you swatting aside its undulating blade with ease. Then, before it can bring either sword or shield to bear, you swing your weapon backhandedly across the monster's head. Your sword cleaves it in two, the blade passing through its skull with ease. However, instead of killing the monster, that undead's body begins radiating with necromantic energy. Dark magic binds the creature together, keeping it from falling apart despite the lethal blow. “Tch. Seems that that Undead Resilience is real. HAAA!”

You then thrust your created crystal blade, directly into the monster's face. As you do, that energy shrouding the monster vanishes, the unlife gone from the monster. That's one down.

“Goooow!” one behind you roars, you kicking off the corpse before you into a back flip. Your strike shatters the Death Knight as you do, seeing the monster's blade passing straight through the space your body had just been in. Before that monster can react to your speed you kick using the momentum of your flip backwards, left boot crashing down onto the helmeted head of the corpse. You feel a lethal crunch, but once more the monster's body is enshrouded in the aura of its Undead Resilience. Seems magic or might makes no difference, no single blow can put these monsters down.

“So I'll just have to fight twice as hard!” you call out, launching yourself forward the moment your feet touch the ground. You swing both blades almost simultaneously through a third undead abomination, the aura vanishing as instantly as it appeared and the Death Knight falls unmoving to the ground. But you don't stop there, spinning counterclockwise and slashing another one with both blades in rapid succession. Once more it loses that deathly aura, collapsing in a pile of lifeless bones. Charging forward you take the battle to these undead monsters, swinging both blades at full speed through bone and metal both. “SHHYAAAAA!!!”

You charge through their ranks for over a minute straight, cutting hundreds of them down with blinding speed. Yet for each one you kill, it seems like a hundred take its place. Still, even without going Super Saiyan, such constructs aren't really a threat to you physically. Sure, if you let your guard down, they could probably kill you. But if these monsters were allowed to get into the village, no. You won't even consider such a thing. You'll take them all down, here and now!

“HRRAAAAA!!” you roar, spinning and cutting down another pair of Death Knights with a pair of spinning slashes. Their undead bodies drop, but more and more keep coming. Using your weapons like this won't be enough to even make a dent in a force of this size You're going to have to take this up a notch and clear out enough for you to come up with a plan. “Enough games! Dark Magic: Darkness Slash!”

Swinging your staff horizontally before you, you unleash a wide, arced blade of shadowy magic out before you. The attack cuts through dozens, maybe even a hundred of the Death Knights, each one glowing with their power to remain in service to their creator. But such a thing is easily bested by one such as you.

“Crystal Slash!” you shout, swinging Blue Flame and firing a similar blade of crystal magic right after the shadowy one. While it only fells around two thirds of those your Death Slash hit, you're unable to cast any Dark magics whatsoever from that blade.
“Goooow!” another undead monster calls from behind you. Without looking back you leap forward and spin, firing off another Darkness Slash then Crystal Slash through that one and dozens behind it as well. The wide cutting angle of your attacks buys you a few seconds to think, you comprehending that there's only one real way to stop this horde short of destroying the planet itself: you need to cull this horde at its source, fast. Upon this realization you sheath your sword, switch your staff over to your right hand, then snap your left fingers. On command the ancient tome of the Final Scribe and former Master of Death Jergal appears open in your palm, the deathly energy surging up from that ancient book into your body. But you gain not only power but insight as well. You can now almost 'see' the negative energy hanging in the air around you, clinging to everything it touches like a specter refusing to accept death and desperately clinging onto the world of the living.

“Now where are you?” you mutter, leaping a dozen yards or so into the air and looking around. With this new insight you can see where the dark energy is clustered deepest, seemingly radiating from a single source maybe three hundred lined Death Knights away or so. Close enough to see the battle, but far enough back to avoid catching any stray attacks. But you see him now, the ancient skeleton wearing a rusty crown and wielding what looks like some sort of curved blade on a pole. You'll have to take it back to the blacksmith once you're done so he can tell you and geek out over it, but first you have to win this. Unluckily for this corpse, you have just the spell. Were it a weaker necromancer, it wouldn't have had the same effect. But with this many undead? This blast just might rival Megumin's Explosion.

“Your time has come!” you call out, drawing your staff up over your head and focusing once more, creating a sphere of crystals the diameter of your dad's broad shoulders. “Crystal Magic: Burst Cannon!”

Swinging your staff forward you fire the massive ball down near the source of this necromantic fog hanging over the area. Your attack slams down onto one of the Death Knights, exploding into a spray of razor-sharp crystals shards that go out in all directions. Dozens impale the Death Knights around the necromancer, but that being seems to have some sort of shield protecting it from the shards. But the attack did its job, clearing you a path. So you dash down, shattering one of the Death Knights before your feet crash down to the ground. The moment you land, the crowned undead takes several steps back and letting his soldiers form a wall between both of you.

“Running won't save you now, lich!” you call out, raising your staff directly overhead and unleashing the magic you'd learned just in case something like this ever happened again. “Back in your grave! Death Magic: Dead Again!”

A wave of Death radiates out from the deathly crystal blade of your staff. Spreading out hundreds of yards a second, your magic hits thousands of the monsters. The moment each one of these Death Knights, still moving or not come in contact with this deathly wave, a small black flame appears above their heads. Then, without waiting to see if the necromancer himself was affected you thrust the head of your staff into the ground at your feet and activate your final spell for the fight, your Crystal Barrier. Because nothing outside of your shield will survive what's about to happen. You put more magic into the shield, making it denser and less likely to crack against this blast. It can survive a hit from Megumin at 70%, let's see how it handles this.

KABOOOOM B-B-BOOM BOOOOO-BOOOOM BOOOOM

Hundreds, no thousands of explosions go off almost simultaneously, those closest first then the ones further and further out as their necromantic energy is turned into explosive magic. The perfect counter for hordes of undead, when collateral damage isn't a concern. So you wait out the series of powerful blasts, telepathically letting Megumin know what's happening. Once the explosions stop you end your shield, shattering it from the inside and observing the aftermath. Immediately, the first thing you notice is that the source of that necromantic fog is gone, blown to smithereens. Even the remains of the Death Knights' bones are all charred out from you for hundreds of feet, the large undead not moving in any closer. Perhaps with their leader defeated, they now have no commands to follow and you're not in range? If that's the case, then cleanup will be a bree-

“Most impressive.” you hear that same deep voice from earlier now above you, but as you do every fiber of your being tells you that you need to run. NOW! So you don't hesitate, kicking off the ground and dashing straight back a dozen or so yards before your feet hit the ground. You slide to a stop, knees crouched as you look up, ready to leap away at a moment's notice. But the forms above you don't immediately attack, slowly descending down to the ground and giving you time to observe them both.

The two figures seem to be opposites, one large and wide, wearing robes, metal gauntlets and a green and red mask that conceal its true form while the other is wearing quite feminine-seeming black armor. You can sense the woman's power, her physical might nearly on the same level as your sister Chaya's base form. But that's not all, her magical energy isn't insignificant either. In terms of raw mana, she's probably got you beaten by a bit. But she isn't the one driving your instincts to flee.

“You most certainly live up to your reputation, “Crystal Sage.” No, in fact, you far surpass it.” the masked man says, completely unphased by your reaction. “That was an interesting spell you just used. Nothing of the sort existed in YGGDRASIL, what sort of necromancy was that?”
“Death Magic. Perfect for putting undead back in their holes.” you reply, then take your fighting stance you'd developed for a spell fight. “Along with their masters, servants, and even their gods. Now, what sort of undead are you?”
“Forgive me, I forgot to introduce myself. And this disguise seems hardly needed now.” he says, pulling the mask away to reveal a skeleton with glowing red pinpoints of light in its empty eye sockets. The gloves vanish as well as the skeleton's robe opens, revealing its ribs. “I am the great sorcerer king and ruler of Nazerick, Ainz Ooal Gown! And this is my trusted ally, the ever-faithful Albedo. But where is the girl? I heard you were always seen beside the Master of Explosions.”

“What business do you have with my wife?” you reply, allowing more than a bit of heat into your voice. “And why are you marching a horde of undead towards my home?”
“Ah, I see. So she would doubtlessly be watching you fight.” the probably lich says, his head raising and looking towards what is no doubt your home. “Albedo, she's most likely in the tower. Would you fetch her for me?”
“Of course, my lord.” the woman replies, then immediately blitzes directly towards your home! Towards your wife!
“LIKE HELL!!” you roar, thrusting your right hand towards the woman as she flies on raven-black wings. But the moment you do, the magic caster before you fires off his first spell.

“Ultimate Disturb!” the undead calls, magic surging from him around his black-armored companion. But whatever defense he tries to pull up around her doesn't stop your telekinetic grip, you grab the woman by the ankle and stop her flight.
“Wh-What?” she exclaims in surprise, clearly confused as she looks down and can't understand how you stopped her.
“You monsters will stay AWAY from my wife!” you snarl, pitching her down to the ground as her ally's feet hard enough to form a crater. But this sudden turnaround doesn't seem to bother the skeleton, who's looking only at you. “Your fight is with me.”

“You dare give orders to the great Lord Ainz?!” the woman shouts with surprising fire, hefting her axe into a ready position with a flourish. “Insolent worm! I'll slaughter you!”
“Albedo, enough!” the skeleton calls, his subordinate immediately stopping and relaxing her stance a bit.
“Yes, Lord Ainz.” she says, kneeling before him. “Forgive me.”

But he doesn't answer her or even acknowledge her, not taking his gaze from you. As if he's reevaluating you, judging whether or not he can take you. So, you decide to give him a push to back off, to leave and not return.

“I'll give you both one chance. If you leave now and take your skeletons with you, I won't be forced to kill you. But if you don't, I'll quit playing around and slaughter you both.” you say seriously. Then, for extra effect clench your fists, and transform. “HRRAAAAAAAA!!”

Golden light blazes forth from you as your aura appears, your hat blowing off your head to reveal your hair is now a shining gold as well. The ground beneath your feet cracks as you take on your Super Saiyan form, strength multiplying dozens of times over. But as you transform, golden glow illuminating the battlefield, the skeleton before you actually takes a single step back!

“What? That glow, is it-? Could it really be?” he says, almost more to himself before addressing you. “Who are you?”
“I am the Reaper Chilli son of Karn! Greatest Saiyan archwizard, he who wields Crystal and Chaos magic, and he who will one day dethrone the Supreme Kai of Time!” you declare boldly, feeling more confident after seeing that reaction. But something about it suddenly bothers you. Almost as if he knew what a Super Saiyan was.

“Just now. You said you were a Saiyan, didn't you?” the skeleton asks, a note of wary caution in his tone. “I'd recognize a Super Saiyan anywhere. So, you're not from this world?”
“No, I came to this planet from another.” you answer, going along and trying to convince him that you're not worth fighting. You STILL can't sense any power from him, neither ki nor magic, and it's bothering you. You aren't sure how he could completely hide from your senses, but your instincts warn you that fighting this thing would be dangerous now. Especially while he has help. So, you go along for now, talking and thinking on what to do next while prying for info. “But how do you know what I am? You're the first being on this planet to recognize the power of a Super Saiyan.”

“Ah-Umm, well, you see....” he starts, stammering a bit as your question catches him off-guard. You then realize that he may have been sent here by another death deity, one who wishes to stop Jergal's Reapers from interfering. But then another thought comes to mind: will you ever get another chance like this? An undead powerful enough to create this horde is strong indeed, strong enough to have an unassailable fortress somewhere on this planet. And if he gets away, you can't track him through any means you currently have So, you have to end him here and now!

“Death Magic: Dust to Du-!” you shout, preparing to end him with your most powerful Death spell. One that can even kill gods. But as you start casting he does the same, his spell far faster activating than your own.
“Time Stop.” he says as his ally leaps between you both, planning to intercept your attack. But as she slows down you do the same, freezing in place and pretending to be affected by his time magic. Holding your spell at the ready, knowing your chance for a surprise attack will come. The skeleton looks at the warrior leaping between you, chuckling a bit to himself. “Albedo knew I cast Ultimate Disturb on her, making her unable to use magic in exchange for being virtually immune to magic attacks. Good thinking, as I'd expect from the supervisor of the Floor Guardians.”

As he talks the skeleton lord walks out past his ally, getting a clear line of sight on you. And then he sighs.

“I had thought you might have been a YGGDRASIL player, one who got their hands on some seriously cool stuff. But it seems I was mistaken.” he says, raising his right hand towards you menacingly. It's now or never! “Farewell, Saiyan. Grasp H-!”
“DUST!!” you roar, twisting and bringing your hand to bear on the skeleton once more. Who nearly jumps out of his nonexistent skin, startling him so bad he not only loses focus on the spell he'd been trying to cast but doesn't even notice that his hand is slowly disappearing. Bones crumbling to dust and blowing away.

“N-Not a bad ambush.” he replies, then his eyes flash as he raises his hand. But then he notices that his body is crumbling, you hearing him make a startled noise. “What? This is impossible! No magic this debilitating should be getting through my defenses.”
“This spell can even kill gods, of course it will work on a corpse like you. Now die afraid.” you retort, then see the skull's eye lights flash menacingly.
“Fear, ah yes. Let's see how well you fare against fear. Silent Spell!” the skeleton calls, them mouths something else as an amorphous shape begins appearing between the two of you. But as it takes shape, you feel your jaw drop, heart rate accelerate and your eyes widen as that bastard somehow revived your worst foe. The one you still see in your nightmares sometimes, grinning maliciously at you.

“N-N-No way. You're dead, I saw you die!” you shout, taking one, then another, then another frightened step back as you can only see the ultimate evil standing before you. “My father killed you!”
“Kiddo, kiddo, kiddo. You can't ever KILL me. Not forever.” Carnival Forever says, grinning at you with a look of overjoyed malice. “It's in the name. I can't die, nothing you or your father can do could ever erase me for good. Now, how about we pick up where we'd left off?”
“Hmmm, I wasn't expecting a clown.” you overhear the skeleton say, his words irrelevant as you stare down the monster that almost killed you. “I was expecting Lord Freeza to appear, or perhaps another monster. Not a clown.”
“We're going to have so much FUN together!” Carnival Forever says, cutting loose with a giggle that turns to full-blown maniacal laughter. “And there's no Daddy here to save you this time!”

“HRRRAAAAAAAA!!” you roar, Ascending in a burst of azure sparks before tossing your staff aside. “You almost killed me before. But this time I'm ready for you.”

You then drop down to a knee, banishing your tome while slamming your right palm flat on the ground, crystals spreading out from your hand. They form a small circle, you then reaching out and grabbing what looks like a handle rising from the crystal teleport spell. Grabbing onto the sword's hilt you pull the dragon bone sword free, crystals shattering and revealing the weapon your father'd given you.

“Round two asshole.” you reply, the azure blade glowing with its faint blue light. “Prepare to die.”

Here's a real high class bout!
Most people don't get to kill their demons with a sword, learn to relish it Chilli.
>>
>>5398120
The real question is: why did Ainz cast Silent Spell before this summoning?
>>5398124
Ha! He doesn't know what the sword is named, not yet. But he will.
>>
>>5398137
>why did Ainz cast Silent Spell
To keep details hidden. Duh. Pft.
>>
>>5398137
Duh, it's Phantasmal Killer.
>>
>>5398154
Yes.
>>5398177
Not quite. Chilli would have recognized if it were an illusion, and nothing were actually there. But Ainz summoned SOMETHING
>>
>>5398180
I think it's to keep chili guessing and add in to the paranoia. Is it an illusion made real with enchantment? Is it a mimic like Pandora's actor that morphs into your fear? Like a boggart from hary potter? Did he actually summon the fucking clown?

Who knows? Not Chili.
And maybe he cast some other shit in the silence.

I love ainz. I don't want him to murder our boy, but god do I love ainz.
>>
>>5398215
Ainz'll probably get while he has the chance to try and figure out how to deal with the super mega unmaking magic Chili just slapped him with.
>>
>>5398215
Chilli certainly doesn’t know, but may figure it out later. He met Kazuma before the wedding and heard his tale, the boy may put two and two together and realize what he’s up against.
I’ll add onto this, right now Ainz is almost as worried about Chilli as Chilli is terrified of Carnival Forever. He’s up against a force he realizes he HEAVILY underestimated and doesn’t grasp the full capabilities of. His scouts reported him at dragon slaying level, not a damn Super Saiyan. Who possesses unknown magics that can clearly hurt him, ignoring all of his defenses and resistances.
>>5398225
Getting gone while your opponent is distracted is not only a great evil overlord trope, but returning immune to their previously strongest attack is doubly so.
>>
>>5397980
Chilli better be careful or he'll become a Nightmare Before Christmas character with that get up.
>>
>Ainz and the entire overlord cast is now a thing
>The god damn clown is actually back because Ainz is also bullshit
>Ainz is also aware of DBZ bullshit so he knows Frieza is a thing and Saiyans are literally running around and apparently have super saiyan
You know if he didn't actually summon the god damn clown i'd feel bad for Ainz right now, he got dragged into this shitshow of a universe so so late. i mean power level wise he fits in right about here, but the poor guy is gonna lose a metric fuckload of sleep over this shit.
>>
>>5398312
Ha! While he has embraced the way of the chuuni, underneath it all he’s still rocking his armor.
>>5398371
>aware of CANON DBZ bullshit
Fixed it for you. And who knows, the continuation of this epilogue may be from his perspective
>>
>>5398438
Here we go, less than 24 hours before the next episode and the Queen of New Salda tournament begins.
>>
>>5398542
Hype train is bording, ALL ABOARD
>>
>>5398542
Here's hoping this inevitable shit show reinforces how important it is to train for these battle royale situations.
>>
>>5398590
Going to be a fun spectacle, although I’m probably going to hate writing it. That’s a LOT of characters to keep track of
>>5398626
Vegeta may have also had ulterior motives with this format. Perhaps raw strength isn’t all he’s looking for, and there’s a reason he hadn’t asked Meloka to referee...
>>
>>5398695
>Perhaps raw strength isn’t all he’s looking for
Wonder who he learned that from.
His progeny being physically strong is almost a given, so it makes sense that he's more conscious of things like temperament, acumen, and awareness, etc...
Nothing sorts out the inept from the adept quite like the battlefield.
>>
>>5398695
Oh gee, I wonder why he consciously/subconsciously deferred to a type of tournament that fits endurance and stealth fighters. Almost as if he has his eyes on a certain someone who can stay hidden very well and can burst into a second, beefed up form to attack from blind spots.
Would be funny to tell Cauli to mug everyone stronger than Emilia and then job to her.
>>
>>5398762
>Nothing sorts out the inept from the adept quite like the battlefield.
Quite true. He’s even seen you get shanked before, early on in the Covenant War. S’how he got to Super Saiyan the first time.
>>5398772
You’re pushing your ship too hard to see the bigger plan.
>Would be funny to tell Cauli to mug everyone stronger than Emilia and then job to her.
Caulifla will be on the sidelines healing the losers, not competing herself. Chaya could have competed as well, and even won it in at least one timeline. But not in this one.
>>
I can already hear Karn's internal dialogue once his students join the frey
>"Okay, nobody's throwing beams directly at the planet ye-GODDAMNIT TOTOMA!"
>"ARROTE! STOP POSING AND MOVE!"
>"Repa! Come on! Don't scream while you're charging somebody from behind!"
>"Aaaaaaaaand there goes Sabi. Told her not to go full blast from the get-go."
>"Koli? WHY ARE YOU HIDING UNDER A ROCK?! WE CAN ALL SEE YOU!"
>>
>>5398841
Would you be surprised if I told you that you got exactly one of those right?
>>
>>5398844
Actually yeah, I figured I was off the ball on all of 'em.
I'm gonna guess...Sabi?
>>
>>5398847
You’ll have to wait and see!
>>
>>5398806
Vegeta and Emilia's own feelings aside, how do the Zoldyk patriarchs feel about that ship? Would they want it to happen for the power and genetic superiority it would bring into the family? Would they want for it NOT to happen for some other reasons? Would they be entirely indifferent to it and just want whatever is best for Emilia's wellbeing?
>>
>>5398896
I think they could suck eggs no matter how they felt considering how Vegeta already bodied Silva.
>>
>>5398896
>how do the Zoldyk patriarchs feel
Zeno would consider it unprofessional. But beyond that, he would see the merits of a political union between his house and Saiyan nobility. That said, would heavily disapprove of tainting the bloodline. Silva would claim to not care, she ran off and abandoned the family after all. Sounds kinda familiar, huh?
>>5399090
He did beat Silva, but not Zeno.
>>
>>5399161
>That said, would heavily disapprove of tainting the bloodline
It'd be an infusion of not just super powerful alien genes, but one of the most gifted bloodlines in Saiyan history.
>>
>>5399167
Do you really think this old guy, over 200 years old, thinks that way?
>>
>>5399244
Well by all means, he's welcome to grow some balls like his son and take Vegeta to task again.
But yeah, I figure he'd be stubborn about something stupid like that. I can't wait for him to meet his half-breed great grandkids.
>>
SOON
>>
>>5399713
...later.
>>
It has begun! >>5399737
