Welcome back.

Rules are simple: Votes are tallied every hour, with whatever course of action being the most popular being the course of action taken. Write ins are encouraged and non-mutually exclusive votes will be combined if possible.

When a roll is called for, roll however many D100 are specified.

For a short summary for the new and to recap:

You are Alex. A newly minted trainer and camping enthusiast just starting out on your journey at the age of seventeen after your father lost his job in order to help pay the bills.

Last time, you went out for dinner, sparred with Fie's Blaziken, earned the Geode Badge, battled Mike, set out for Saltcoast City and battled a Gentleman and his Daughter, whereupon Syurm evolved.
>>
>>5402508
>>5402534

"So, are there any good places to camp along the way?" You ask Fie as you walk.

She nods in confirmation.

"There's one, but unless we get a move on, it'll be dark by the time we get there." She says.

"That battle went better than I expected." You say to Gareth as you keep walking.

"Yeah." Gareth says. "I was kind of expecting to lose that one outright. At least Riolu got some experience out of it."

"Mien should be able to show him a few tricks when we stop though." You note.

He brightens.

"Yeah, now that you mention it, she should know a few moves he can pick up." He agrees.

>Roll. Will determine if you reach camp before nightfall.

There's not especially much talking after that as you keep walking.

The path grows gradually steeper as you start seeing hills around you and making your way up into the hills that dominated the eastern horizon up until now.

With the hills, comes more greenery as the scrub turns to lush bushland.

You can hear bird pokemon of all sorts off in the trees, though they're difficult to see off in the trees.

Around about five in the afternoon, Fie indicates a well-worn trail off the main path and leads the way down it to a camping ground.

It's got every indication of being well-maintained...

But it's also been trashed.

There's food wrappers everywhere and the picnic benches and the roof of the shelter have been splashed with green paint and graffiti'd with the symbol of a bloody fist.

Evidently, Team Green stopped here for the night either on the way to Silveridge, or on the way back.

You sigh tiredly.

"Alright, looks like we have to clean up after the animals." You say tiredly.

Fortunately, the wrappers are easy to take care of, as there's a bin provided, but the grafitti is another matter.

Fie winds up getting her Skrelp to use Scald into a the camp sink and adding detergent and then going to town with a scrub brush, but it seems like the only way to get rid of the paint will be to scrape it. Meaning you'd need to repaint the bench.

"We'll just have to report this." You say, shaking your head.

"Fortunately, the Rangers have a pokedex app." Fie says, taking out her own and showing you.

"Huh. I'll have to grab that one." You note as Fie takes pictures of the grafitti and logs a report.

The process takes barely two minutes and there's confirmation within five that the report's been received and a work order filed.

That taken care of, Fie gets to work on a fire while you, Gareth and Holly pitch the tents.

Considering you were interrupted earlier today and didn't get that much time to just bond with Fluffy, you decide now is a good time for it.

You release him and bring out some toys and start playing, cycling between fetch, tug-of-war and catch-the-featherstick over the course of the next hour, by which time it's full dark and everyone's settled by the fire as dinner gets closer to being done.

By the end of it, Fluffy is dusty, has leaves caught in his coat and is beaming up at you happily and you're feeling rather tired and sweaty yourself.

You decide that you might as well get Fluffy cleaned up after that and break out the grooming kit.

Fluffy holds still patiently while you work for the first few minutes, before the brush gets caught on a particularly stubborn tangle and yanks several strands of his fur out, eliciting a high-pitched yelp from him, before he bolts across the fire and looks up at you with a look of betrayal.

By the time she's done, Fluffy is clean and nodding, apparently having been lulled into a light doze by Holly's practiced demonstration.

"You're really good at this." You note.

She grins and flicks her own long brown tresses for emphasis.

"I've had a lot of practice." She says modestly.

Shortly thereafter, Gareth serves up dinner and you release your team so you can all eat and relax.

The nights are starting to get pretty cold, so you bolt down your food quickly to make the best of the heat, before you all just sit back and relax to digest for a while.

Holly cuddles up with Latios and you lean against Latias's flank and let Blitz and Fluffy cuddle up to you while you read the entry of Route 3 to Latias, while you see what pokemon live around here:

Pidgey
Skwovet
Spearow
Electrike
Seedot
Spinarak
Oddish
Tailow
Budew
Yamper
Applin
Rookidee
Hoothoot
Murkrow
Swablu
Fletchling
Shroomish
Natu
Rufflet
Rowlet

There's a lot of variety there and Latias listens raptly, while you read about how Route 3 tends to be steep and fairly lush compared to Route 2 owing to the mountain range causing a lot of rainfall throughout and being a major reason why the Silveridge side of the mountain is arid rather than lush, while Gareth is doing much the same as you inbetween tending the fire, While Fie huddles up with Cinder for warmth.

Eventually, you yawn, before blinking and checking the time.

It's getting late and you've still got a fair way to go tomorrow.

At the same time, several pokemon found around here are only active at night.

You could probably spend some time while you're in Saltcoast looking for pokemon out here at night, but you're here now, so you decide you might as well.

"Anyone want to come looking for pokemon?" You ask.

Gareth nods.

"Yeah, that should be worthwhile." He agrees.

"Just don't go getting lost, you two." Fie advises.

You both nod before retrieving your torches and heading out of the camp ground to have a look around.

You've not gone more than ten metres from camp before you spot Skwovet scurrying about in the branches of a tree and not long afterwards, you spot a flock of Spearow asleep in the hollow of another, before a discordant 'crark' has you shining your light up into another tree to see a lone Murkrow peering down at you imperiously.

You give Gareth a questioning look.

He shakes his head subtly as you reach for a poke ball, before whipping it up and at Murkrow.

It squawks in surprise before the ball has closed around it.

The ball falls to the ground and rocks once...

Twice...

Then clicks softly.

Gareth blinks, taken aback.

"Surprised that worked." He admits as the ball vanishes.

"Same." You agree.

You're a good way into the bush way, so the pokemon here ought to be at least a little stronger than close to the road.

Gareth follows suit as it looks around before swallowing whatever it had just found.

It peers around at you curiously before returning to digging around again.

"D'you want to catch this one?" You ask.

You figure it's only fair to ask after you caught that Murkrow.

Gareth frowns, thinking for a moment, before nodding.

"Yes. I think I had best." He admits, reaching into his pack and withdrawing a Quick Ball and his Geodude's ball.

The Rowlet is well and truly distracted right now, so when Gareth throws, it disappears and clicks almost immediately before vanishing.

Gareth lets out a breath and grins.

"Alright, we're a pretty long way from camp now." He says, sobering. "I think we ought to start heding back now. I mean, I can still make out the girls from here, but still. No need to go tempting fate on winding up in a fight with a powerful pokemon."

"Yeah, we can come back and do this another time." You agree, before blinking and calling on your own aura as your breathing takes on a meditative quality.

The forest lights up around you with the varigated auras of pokemon everywhere:

In the trees, in the brush, sleeping in burrows or in hollows or out on the prowl looking for food.

You see the Skwovet colony again, outlined in grey and yellow, while the Seedot are green.

You spy sleeping Budew clustered at the base of another tree and just as you're getting close to the camp...

You go on to the camp unconcerned before ladling out some of the stew you had for dinner before going and leaving the bowl about equidistant between the fire where you're sitting and where this Rowlet is watching in the bushes before going back to your place by the fire.

"You know there're Skwovet that live around here, right?" Fie asks. "Because that's how you get Skwovet. And Ratata."

You shimmy back to your prior position to wait, but after about five minutes, it doesn't look like Rowlet is coming back tonight.

You leave a trail of food back to the bowl anyway, but after another twenty minutes, there's no sign of it.

"I guess he got proper spooked." You say, shaking your head.

"Probably." Fie agrees. "It's still remarkable the little guy came out to begin with. Rowlet are really skittish." She notes.

"You think he might've been abandoned?"

"It's possible." Fie concedes.

"I guess I'll have to try again some other time if he's still here."

You get up to see Fie finishing getting dressed.

She heads out, giving you the privacy to change before the two of you get to warming up, then sparring.

You're feeling good this morning and Fie is either off her game or taking it easy on you so you can get a feel for boxing and incorporating it into your style, but more often than not, you have her on the back foot or off-balance.

When she calls a halt, she's drenched in sweat and panting.

"Damn, you're a fast learner." She says, impressed, patting your shoulder, before leaving you to your own training while she goes to drill her team.

You release Blitz and do some basic warm-ups with him before realising you haven't actually thought about what you're going to do with him this morning.

>>5416141

>>5416135
Guys I urge you to reconsider.
Failing to learn Crunch is what put Blitz out of commission last time.
The reason given by OP is that he hasn't grown enough to learn an overly powerful move.
So trying again without leveling up is high risk.

>>
>>5416155

Good catch.

>>5416178

The reason I put finishing learning Crunch as an option, is because I want there to be opportunities for Alex to screw up organically. (Potentially)

So, occasionally, there'll be an option that could go badly if a roll goes particularly poorly, or you're not careful.

After all, what's a story without some stakes and danger every now and then?

That being said, everyone's been playing really smart, so it's not come up too much.
>>
>>5416191
>That being said, everyone's been playing really smart, so it's not come up too much.
And I'm the first surprised at that; it's /qst after all.

>>
>>5416196
OP did say the harem route was a possibility but only with the right maneouvering.
That being said the reason why Alex snapped out of it was:
>not wanting to hurt both Holly and Fie that way
>not wanting to use a moment of weakness from Holly who clearly needs to become independent first
>>
>>5416155
>>5416152
+1 On Learning Morning Sun.
Use Aura sight to observe the process during training.
Maybe we can also pick it up.
>>
>>5416161
Not a bad idea, but there's still too much of a risk involved given how low of a level Blitz is. Although we could ask Fie if we can train our teams together.

>>5416355
>can dragon dance
>knows capoeira

>knows capoeira
Yeah, I'm down for basically becoming as strong as a pokemon.
>>
>>5416373
OP basically confirmed Aura training or Innate Psychics are just humans that are able to use Pokemon moves.

We should definitely question Gareth more about it and ask if there was any scientific research done in regards to this.

We should also take the tame to learn an aura move mimicking Protect or at least Iron Defense.
>>
>>5416160
>>5416178
>>5416355

You're tempted to try and continue training Blitz on Crunch, but after what happened last time, you think better of it and go to your pokedex instead to look at other moves.

There's a pretty decent selection there, but after how Crunch went, you decide to stick to some less 'powerful' moves for the time being.

The only question is where to start.

You decide that all things considered, a healing move wouldn't be a bad idea for Blitz, so you decide to go with Morning Sun.

It seems simple enough.

As it turns out, it isn't.

You get the feeling this would probably be easier for Syurm to figure out, but as you watch the clip through a few times with Blitz before attempting it, you get the feeling this might be a little advanced for him.

A fact borne out as he doesn't so much as glow during the whole half hour you try and practice the move.

"What are you doing over here?" Fie asks curiously as she comes over, evidently taking a break from her sparring with Cinder.

"Trying to teach Blitz Morning Sun." You explain.

"Is he hurt?" Fie asks with the barest hint of a smile.

"No... shit." You clap your forehead as you realise that that's probably half your problem right there.

"Yeah, Morning Sun is kind of a fiddly move to teach." Fie agrees. "If you don't have access to some very restricted specialist equipment, it's a downright pain in the ass."

That's definitely something worth keeping in mind.

"Mind helping somehow? A mock battle, maybe?" You ask after a moment's thought.

Fie brightens.

"That sounds like a good idea." She agrees. "I've not really done much actual battling with Skrelp, so the experience would be good."

A course of action decided upon, the two of you move to a clear area, Fie releases Skrelp and at your call, Blitz happily trots into position.

"Skrelp, Water Gun. Tone it back a little." Fie orders as she waits for you to make a move, only to take the hint as you wait for her to move.

Skrelp blasts Blitz with a gentle stream of water that makes him recoil and yelp, but he's not actually that badly hurt by it.

"Bite." You order as you blink and call upon your aura, seeing the familiar outlines superimposed on your vision as Blitz bounds forward and nips Skrelp as you ordered, apparently picking up on the fact this is effectively rough housing instead of a serious fight.

Both Skrelp and Blitz are still plenty energetic and healthy after the exchange.

"Alright Blitz, let's try Morning Sun again." You say.

He barks, before beginning to glow and as you watch, his aura regains the vibrant green of a pokemon at the peak of their stamina again.

"Awesome work!" You cheer.

Fie has Skrelp cycle Water Gun a few more times while you have Blitz do the same with Morning Sun just to make sure he's got the move down, but he performs it without issue and by the time Holly and Gareth are exiting their tents, you and Fie are winding down after a rather productive mock battle.

"Phew, not a bad morning's work, all things considered." Fie says cheerfully as you dish out last night's dinner for breakfast. "Morning Sun is kind of niche and kind of hard to learn, but you really do have a talent for training." She adds.

With this cheering prospect, you set off down the road into the city proper.

The sun's gone down by the time Fie leads you to the gym, though the city hasn't slowed down any.

There're people out partying or having dinner or working overtime in some cases, while in front of the gym proper, you're met by nearly a dozen figures dressed in black bloc.

You decide to do a Dragon Dance, just in case anyone tries to assault you this time, but you fumble the steps around about the time you've ordered Kay O-o to Aerial Ace Breloom and Blitz to Fire Fang Gloom.

Breloom slugs Blitz first with a Mach Punch, while Houndour gets Double Kicked by Cinder, before Fie directs her further back where more Team Green members are releasing pokemon, scattering them like Ratata as they're put in harm's way.

The Liepard Sucker Punches Mien, only to receive a heavy Drain Punch in retaliation, before Blitz bites down on the Gloom, making it flinch before Kay O-o scythe's Breloom's legs with a pair of sweeps, sending it crashing to the ground, out cold.

Then, Cotton begins to Sing, lulling several of the Team Green thugs to sleep and leaving the others swaying drowsily, even as a few of them lurch towards you.

The downed pokemon are replaced by a Roselia, a Golbat and a Thievul, while the Liepard sways from its hard hit.

It's hard to tell if they're receiving much, if any direction over Cotton's singing, while Syurm waits beside you, poised to web anyone who gets close.

"Kay O-o, Dragon Breath Golbat!" You order, even as it swoops at Mien in an Aerial Ace. "Blitz, Fire Fang that Gloom again!" You order as the pokemon in question begins to glow with a Synthesis.

Kay O-o bathes Golbat in indigo fire, making it stagger after dealing Mien a hard hit. It's paralysed and hurt, its aura flashing yellow as it gives odd twitches, while Liepard Sucker Punches Cinder this time as Fie's Blaziken puts a Raticate out of the fight now. It's a hard hit, but she's still fresh.

Blitz meanwhile is hit by a Payback from Thievul as he makes the Synthesis Gloom just used moot, taking him from healthy to teetering on the brink between 'hurt' and 'badly hurt' in one go, before the Roselia scatters what you identify as Toxic Spikes around your group's feet.

Cotton continues to Sing however, which is having the desired effect of putting more and more of these thugs to sleep.

...Come to think of it, you're feeling kind of drowsy yourself... (Roll)

Liepard is hurt pretty badly, but still up, Gloom is in a similar state and suffering from a burn that's slowly winnowing its health, while Golbat is only slightly hurt but paralysed. The Thievul and Roselia meanwhile, are fresh.

On your side of the fight, Cinder is surrounded by another half a dozen pokemon, all of which you estimate to be absolutely inferior in training to her, but decently experienced. Cotton is healthy and hanging back near Holly as she continues to Sing, while Mien is teetering on the verge of fainting after the hard hit she just took.

Kay O-o is somehow still in perfect health, while Blitz is looking pretty rough after the hit he took from Thievul.

You blink as you find yourself nodding before shaking your head to clear it as you realise you're being effected by Cotton's song as well.

With that realisation, you manage to fight off the soporific effect and refocus.

"Kay O-o, Low Kick Liepard, Blitz, Morning Sun!" You order as the thugs commanding the pokemon you're facing give their own orders.

Mostly. It seems like Roselia's trainer has fallen asleep.

Liepard lashes out at Kay O-o this time as he bounds in while Golbat is stricken by Paralysis.

It tags Kay O-o, but in return, it's caught out by a deceptively wide sweep from the little dragon that sends it slamming hard into the bitumen and knocking it out cold.

Meanwhile, Mien hits Gloom with a U-Turn, being replaced, to your surprise, by the Rowlet he caught last night.

He must've swapped one of his other pokemon to the box for it. Hopefully, it's up for a trial by fire.

In the aftermath, Gloom really isn't looking too crash hot. It tried to use Moonlight, only to wind up exactly where it was before and its burn to take its toll.

Roselia and Thievul hesitats, looking back towards their trainer, thankfully doing nothing else as Syurm webs sleeping trainers to the ground whenever she gets a clear shot, while Blitz takes the opportunity to heal slightly with Morning Sun.

Meanwhile, Cotton is still singing while Cinder continues putting thugs trying to either rush at you or send more pokemon to reinforce the mob before you on their asses.

Cinder's still in good shape, as is Kay O-o. Blitz still looks rough but he's better than he was and Rowlet is fresh and has evaded the snare of Toxic Spikes.

Cotton is still singing away and continuing to put Team Green members down, though the half dozen remaining are beginning to wise up and are trying to block their ears as their friends drop around them.

On the opposite side of the field, Roselia and Thievul are milling about and are still fresh. Golbat is hurt, but still up, though suffering from paralysis. Gloom is just hanging on and their trainer seems to be intent on just trying to out-heal any and all damage done, up to and including the burn to no success so far and Liepard has been recalled, unconscious, after the hard hit it just took from Kay O-o.

"Kay O-o, Dragonbreath Golbat again! Blitz, Fire Fang on Gloom, Syurm, String Shot Thievul and Roselia!"

As you watch, Kay O-o pastes the still-reeling Golbat with more purple flame, putting it out of action with a direct hit, while Blitz lands a hard bite on Gloom, putting it out of action as it tries to heal again.

For a moment, you think Syurm's having difficulty with her string owing to her recent evolution, but no, it turns out she's being clever:

What you at first mistook for a failure to weave her thread into a coherent shot turns out to be a deliberate diffusion of the threads on her past as she wafts them up and over the two targets you designated, gradually ensnaring them before they realise too late and can't escape as they're effectively entombed to the ground in a cage of rapidly hardening threads.

Roselia and Thievul are thrashing madly, but aren't making any headway from lack of leverage, until they're finally coccooned in Syurm's thread, leaving Rowlet a clear line to Razor Leaf the pokemon surrounding Cinder.

It's not a hard hit compared to what Cinder is dishing out, but it does soften them up as Fie sends out her Flareon next, catching the majority of the pokemon hemming Cinder in with a Fire Spin.

The mob have decided this isn't worth it now and are starting to run.

"Syurm, Sticky Web!" You order.

In response, the entire street is suddenly covered in a dense, intricate web, or rather, a series of them, cutting off the fleeing mob's escape and trapping several of them, before she launches a second one, neatly trapping the mob in a rapidly hardening cage.

"That's going to be a *bitch* to clean off tomorrow, but that was nicely played." Fie admits as Rascal lands and Cinder stalks back to Fie's side, watching around for more threats.

"Yeah, wait here." Fie agrees. "Don't want the cops working too hard because one or two of them slipped the net." She adds as you settle in to wait.

It takes nearly fifteen minutes for the police to show, during which time Syurm has to patch six attempted breakouts, but by the time they do show, none of the thugs has managed to escape and after a mercifully brief round of taking statements, they haul the thugs off and you're free to go.

"Yeah." You agree, looking at the tattered remnants of solidified webbing coating the gym and the buildings opposite. "No reason we can't make this easier though." You add. "Can I borrow Skrelp?" You ask Fie.

"I think I see where you're going." Fie says as she releases the little poison type. "Skrelp, Scald those webs." She orders.

Skrelp obeys, hosing the remnants of the webs down with boiling hot water and making them drastically less sticky and durable, allowing you to just scrape the webs down with a broom Fie fetches from inside.

You don't manage to get everything, but you get enough that what's left over will take all of fifteen minutes with a ladder and a brush in the morning.

"Phew..." You say as you pick the wads of silk out of the broom's bristles as you head in.

"Yeah, it's been a long day." Fie agrees as she locks the door behind yu and leads you through the gym to a spacious apartment to the rear of the complex. "I've got a couple of spare rooms, so no need to worry about anyone sleeping on the couch if they don't want to." She adds, then sobers as Fie and Gareth go to claim one of the rooms each. "I know we've kind of had an arrangement this whole time, but you mind doing me a favour for the time being?" She asks.

"What?" You ask.

"Thanks, Alex. I'd never hear the end of it if Emma caught us in a compromising position." She says with a grimace.

You feel compelled to have a look around the room to confirm you're not being observed right this moment, but a quick look indicates you're in the clear.

"In the interest of not tempting fate, I'll let you go." You reply, before heading after Gareth.

He looks up, startled as you come in and gives you a questioning look.

"Apparently the former Fire Gym Leader calls around here and is kind of old fashioned. And a gossip." You explain.

"Ah." Gareth nods. "Fair enough. Just don't wake me up at o-dark-thirty." He says as you both change and fall into bed.

Showers can wait until the morning.

"No promises." You reply. "You could stand to get up a bit earlier anyway."

"I know, but I'm taking a bit of a break from it while I'm on pilgrimage." Gareth replies as you kill the lights.

"Suit yourself." You reply as you settle down and nod off.

You dream.

It's a little unfocused, but the general gist is the journey so far.

It's a little hard to believe it's only been a couple of weeks. It feels longer. And for how much ground you've covered in that time, it feels like you've hardly accomplished anything.

Still, you've made friends along the way and it's not as if many people could claim to have met a ghost like old Henry or have met a Latias. Let alone caught one.

Sure, it's a lot of responsibility, but so are pokemon in general. And now you've made it to Fie's gym, you can take some time to focus on training her so she can look after herself and can answer the challenge if some asshole thinks to single you out if you do use her in battle.

Well. An idealised future:

You don't live in Greenshoot town now, but rather outside of it on a big farm, you your family and Fie, all there in a big farmstead, running sheep or cattle.

Your team is there as well. Fie still has her Gym Leader position, of course and it's a little awkward with three trainers in the family, but you make it work.

As idyllic as the dream is though, you've got stuff to do.

You wake up early. Really early. So early that as you make your way back through the gym and head outside to finish cleaning up Syurm's webbing, the street lights are still on and the stars are out.

After some searching, you give up on find a janitor's closet and head out there. One of your pokemon can carry you up.

>We tutor all trainers that beat the Gym challenge at the beach in the afternoon about setting up/clearing up camp and managing fire pits in addition we can offer to teach one of their mons Secret Power (building sandcastles as practic/we can rotate our pokemon to participate and practice the move/play as well)

>Meanwhile trainers that have volunteered with league renovations, clean up at the beach/rest stops, caught team green members or aided the nurses at the pokecenters would get priority in using the gym fields for training in the afternoon till closing hours.

>The rest of the afternoon we can spend in group activities with the gang or individual activities
>Suggest Holly research battles/moves she wants to her mons to master as well as focusing on pokemon nutrition/care since she's skilled at it
>Gareth should know his own choice in the matter but learning some medicinal knowledge could be useful in the field and he has the brains for it

Evening we close the gym at 6pm
>Each evening after we spend 3 hours on dedicated EV training for Latias and Latios before cleaning up for tommorow

9pm sleep

As for our personal focus
>Keep up the martial arts training in the morning, maybe include Gareth as well since he's bound to have learned something (likely Judo) at the monastery
>Keep hitting on Fie from time to time when it's convenient for her and it doesn't become a case of suddenly lost interest
>Practice some woodcarving by making a sturdy appropriately sized walking stick for Sage and secretly small funny beach themed carvings of Fies favorite pokemon (Torchic in a Rubber Farfetch'D belt etc.), we can incorporate our meditation training in this by channeling the smallest amount of aura possible while carving.
>Study up on Pokemon moves and teach some while we rotate our team members and socialize with the ones we don't know well enough yet
>Make sure Nika stays with us from now on until she's matured a bit, dedicate our selves to help her develop in a Steadfast manner (neutral nature is best here)
>Ensure safe play and training with Latias

"Sure, why not?" You ask rhetorically as you finish warming up before squaring up opposite Cinder.

She's got an odd gleam in her eye which is all the warning you get before she goes on the attack with a high kick at your head.

You dodge reflexively and retaliate with a kick of your own on reflex, resulting in her dodging and throwing another kick.

This quickly turns into a match of spacing, speed and sheer endurance.

You don't really have the timeor the space to be worrying about getting in hard hits, simply because Cinder isn't pulling her shots this time, or at least, not as much.

If she hits you, you're done.

You manage to get a few glancing hits in and either redirect or barely evade hers, before you finally break after about five minutes.

You're pouring sweat and shaking from the intensity of the fight.

"Cinder, what the hell?"

The aghast question from Fie breaks through the stare down you have going on with her Blaziken.

She breaks off and gives Fie along look before refocusing on you and throwing another kick.

You're ready this time though and sidestep under it before responding with a kick to her gut only to get grabbed and dragged down to the ground with her, fetching up with a mouthful of feathers atop Cinder's chest as she stares up at you, before giving a cheerful chirp and standing back up with you held bridal style against her chest.

"...Oh..."

You manage to wriggle around to see Fie turning as red as her hair and burying her face in her hands in obvious embarrassment.

In the interest of full disclosure:

This is just for the comedy, but considering Blaziken's whole shtick makes sense to me they'd court like birds. Except with kicks and martial displays instead of bowers and vibrant, colourful feathers.

You blink.

"Uh..."

Cinder clucks and looks at you expectantly.

"...What?" You feel like you're missing something.

Then a realisation hits you.

"Wait, am I being *courted* here?" You ask incredulously.

Fie nods, not looking up.

"I'm so sorry." She mumbles, finally dropping her hand, face still red as her hair. "This sort of thing isn't unheard of, but well... You've kind of been giving Cinder signals the last week or so, which wouldn't help." She adds awkwardly.

Oh.

Ooooh... she's right. You mightn't be terribly familiar with Blaziken, but they're pretty famous for their ability to jump and kick. Small wonder Cinder's gotten the wrong idea, considering your Capoeira practice.

She's still looking at you expectantly.

"I'm taken"
The raising a male to her standard is a bit wrong; between child trafficking and incest as the easiest way I see to get a torchick is shenanigans with the blaziken herself (fucked up genealogical trees are efficient as hell in pokemon though)
>>
>>5435374
You were assuming we needed to get a Torchic from her offspring or the same dealers/breeders Fie got her from.

Catch a wild one or find a breeder we know isn't related.
Also pokemon mature differently due to food and battles so we could have a fully grown blaizeken within a 2 months.

"There's been a bit of a misunderstanding here, Cinder." You say, jumping down onto your feet.

She chirps and gives you a questioning look.

"I'm taken." You say, wrapping your arm around Fie.

Cinder gives a dissatisfied huff and looks at the two of you mulishly.

Now it's Fie's turn to huff.

"C'mon Cinder, you're better than this." She says in her best disappointed parent voice.

Another chirp and another huff, more clearly dissatisfied as she puts her hands on her hips and looks at the both of you meaningfully.

"...We're *not* having this conversation." Fie says, both disbelieving and forbidding.

Another chirp, this time with crossed arms.

"Arceus Cinder, there's a time and a place. This is neither. Tonight, okay?"

Another chirp, still dissatisfied, but apparently this is an acceptable compromise.

With that, she walks off to a bag in the corner as Fie turns to you.

"I'm so, so sorry." She says, clearly mortified.

"Jealousy." Fie says briefly.

You could ask her to elaborate, but considering how embarrassed Fie is, it doesn't take a genius to figure out.

"...Anything you can do...?" You ask cautiously. "I'd rather not that become a staple of working out."

"I'll deal with it." She assures earnestly. "That... *shouldn't* happen again." She adds, then shakes her head. "...D'you want to keep going, or er... would you rather do something else?" She asks tentatively.

Are there any plans on crossing paths with trainers we fought again, or are they a one-time thing?
This is a pretty fun thread, thank you Busy.
>>
>>5438197
Pretty sure OP will reuse them. For one we can have acquaintances not named NPC 1 or Villager 3.
Also thinking of it logically the pokemon league aside of being a government body has some clear purpose: Young people training up their personal strength, earning money based on good decisions/promoting young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to earn a financial base and finally integrating humon society with the ecosystem centered on pokemon.
>>
>>5438200
I can add to that socialization and networking while on league tour.
Also, I think the guy doing the cartridge-accurate thread a while ago had an interesting take saying league circuit allows the country to get efficient army and militia
>>
>>5438212
Yes very much this.
It's likely that pokemon trainers with certain certifications (enough gym badges or special schooling like rangers/firemen/police) are required to act as deputies in the absence of formal officers and assist them while present.
On that note Gym leaders are practically generals, the elite 4 chief governors, champion taking the role of military governor and president (I'd much prefer this system in reality).
>>

>>
>>5438275
Eh it didn't have much lore in the first place.
That only really took off in gen2 and later.
>>
>>5437954
Righto.
A few meta questions.

Can we use moves like Hidden Power and Natural Gift to figure out different types of Type Energy during our aura training and should we include more berries in our Pokemon and personal diet?

If so i think we should study what effect mixing in berries of their matching type has on Pokemon development.
i.e. adding Leppa and Habban berries to KayO-o's diet since logically them being used as fuel for the Fighting and Dragon type version of Natural Gift would mean they reinforce those powers somewhat.

We should stick to the commonly available ones first tho and get a Pokeblender to make Pokeblocks.
Perhaps also grab those portable pots for growing berry bushes.

Lastly, will we able to establish telepathic bonds with our mons and thus share senses with them?
>>
>>5437975
>Zookeeper sent to Hoen by Nuclear Apocalypse:
much better story than i expected for being about a zookeeper waking up in hoenn after dying from a nuke
>>
>>5438451
I mean nuclear apocalypse sounds comical but then the author really played up the trauma/trust issues angle giving the MC a realistic reaction to his situation instead of cheering for being in the world of Pokemon.
>>
>>5438197

Yep. I've written down the teams of a few of them, so there's a chance you'll cross paths with them again.

>>5438385

With the first, you could but it would take time and effort. With the berries, for you there's no reason why not and you have a Feebas, so yes. Probably.

With everyone else, they'd appreciate it. Portable pots are a possibility, but they'll be expensive.

With telepathy, there's a chance with a few of your pokemon, but not all of them.
>>
>>5438464

Experimenting will do us good,
For example to understand Fighting Type Energy burning through the 4 different types of berries would give us 4 points of reference data from which to build our understanding on in addition to any aura skills we pick up from Nika or other Fighting types.

The pots and berry blender will be an investment that keeps on giving both for our team and our selves so i think i'm going to push towards getting those after we save up enough money (i loved that feature since it was introduced in gen3).

>With telepathy, there's a chance with a few of your Pokemon, but not all of them.

I'm guessing Nika, Sage and Fluffy (regardless of Umbreon or Espeon).
>>
Here's a link for the Natural Gift Berry/Type Chart to keep handy since i'm sure anons will latch onto this topic.
We definitely should use the water type berries for Piker(Feebas) since they increase beauty when blended into Pokeblocks which means Milotic here we come.
Also a Fridge compartment for our Devonbag will be useful to keep em fresh.

"Okay, but what kind of help do you need?" You ask. "I'm having plenty enough fun training and battling."

Fie sighs and looks like she's going to press you before apparently deciding to pick her battles.

"Well, having someone else to act as a speedbump for would-be challengers would be a help." Fie says. "Blitz and Sage would be perfect for checking second badge challengers and I can loan you a few pokemon for higher and lower experienced challengers." She adds. "You'd be covering the mornings. Emma still does afternoons."

"Seems reasonable." You agree.

Fie nods.

"There's a spare court you can use for training in the afternoon with the others, but when it comes to gym trainers, I've got a few more people who come in on the regular besides Emma, only difference is they can only come in on certain days." She explains. "So, you're going to have a few days a week free." She adds pointedly. "And you can't just battle and train all the time. You need to let your pokemon have breaks and fun as well." Are you saying I work too much?" You ask, non-plussed.

"No, you work exactly the right amount. I'm just worried about you taking what should be a break and burning yourself and your pokemon out by using it to just train non-stop." Fie replies.

Ah. That explains it.

"I mean, this is pretty normal for me." You reply with a shrug. "I guess you could call me overly diligent, but that's mostly down to having to keep up with some of my parents less well-thought out side projects."

"Thanks." She says, giving you a smile as the smell of food cooking lures Gareth and Holly out of bed to join you.

You somehow avoid going overboard with the cooking and soon enough, you're enjoying the fruits of your labor.

"So, what are we going to do today?" Holly asks.
