The great war has dragged on to just a few weeks shy of the first year and the many changes that the war has brought to Europa and it's political landscape as well as the nature of war itself is drastic. The most notable change being the value of aircraft and brave pilots like those of 14e Escadre Mixte "Liberté" Yet much like the war in the mud, the war in the air seems to be growing in attrition rates. Yet even so, a number of pilots make a name for themselves on both sides as aces and heroes. However, that has not been your focus for the past day. As you, lieutenant-colonel Helene Valmont, have decided to get to the bottom of a string of terrible murders by. Investigating the only Escadron that thus far could be tied to all these crimes and it's pilots. That of Rouge...Yet, you honestly are unsure exactly of whom may have done it. Your best guess being that it is one of the ground crew instead of the pilots. At least for now...

========================================================

This is a continuation of the last Air Wing Commander Quest Thread. I plan on continuing this until real life kills me literally or metaphorically, you get yourself killed, or the war ends. Rules are on the first page of the original thread, and the second thread is also listed below in order.

You...honestly aren't too sure about who it could be. You think it's likely one of the ground crew of Rouge rather than any of the pilots. Yet another part of you thinks it could be someone from the 1st Vesperia Division. It's quite a tough call all things considered, you need more information yet a part of you feels as if you won't get much more. You just hope that Botrel will be able to provide something to you that might be able to assist you in your efforts. Still, once you reached him and started your quick conversation with him, after a slight pause to think, you finish what you were going to say.

"I want to know if any other weirdness or absences has happened that have been recorded. Likewise, I want tighter inventory control if at all possible." It wasn't much, but it was something. If it'd actually give something of importance to you, you hardly know to be honest.

"Well, the only weirdness of late is the kind I already told you, with miss Guilloux. Unfortunately, I know little else that could help you I believe, as I don't really know of any absences of Rouge that you aren't already aware of. As for tighter inventory control...Something could be arranged. At the very least if the missing screwdrivers are merely a coincidence it will allow us to narrow things down. Especially if they keep going missing. I will have to write up some security measures for that however. Which will take some time to implement. Ideally not too much however... While you were there, did you see or hear anything suspicious by chance? Given you went there for information and to potentially learn more about it I hope you managed to find something at the least." Botrel says, a bit upset he clearly can't provide much more assistance, though still clearly hopeful there's something gained from your little investigation.

"Well, I'm not entirely sure, but I think if it's anyone from Rouge, it's the ground crew. They are a very...peculiar bunch to say the least... There is some other things that might be of some importance that were said in conversation, though unfortunately I wasn't able to speak to Calantha." You say calmly, though this is met with a thought by Botrel.

"Well, I suppose you should talk to them when you get the chance. Maybe she or Catherine has seen something strange or has information that could help? Maybe write to them while they are busy with their tour and time in training? Another possibility is to perhaps get some help. If not from the proper authorities in the military doing the investigation some other pilot. Maybe Guilloux? You could also maybe get information about who they really are while you are at it, given how that has been buried. After all, they covered things up for a reason and by extension cleared her Escadron for fear she was potentially responsible even if she wasn't? It's as good a guess as any..." Botrel says with a bit of thought...Clearly there were options...

"I'll have to consider those options then. But...Later perhaps. I have other duties to attend to after all and I have spend all day essentially speaking with Rogue rather than doing what I need to." You say, following with a sigh. You didn't feel much closer, so maybe it would be best to wait. Perhaps you could organize things so that Vert and Rogue share and airfield if the front changes, or even if it doesn't, and bring Catherine and Calantha back. Then you could potentially kill two birds with one stone as it were. There also was the possibility of another murder, and with it further proof of who did it. Though, with this is also the risk of coverup potentially...

"If you need any assistance that I can provide, please inform me. I'm used to heavy workloads, and if you need anything done with logistics I'll work on it immediately if needed. If not, I hope there's something else I can provide at least. I also hope you are able to find something that helps this case in the future. Though, I understand you temporarily pausing it. After all, the war is more important. More lives are at stake with it than with a killer on the loose, as much as I hate to say it given any life is important...I suppose I also hope they don't strike again, even if I know that's likely the main thing that will get them caught in the end and give more information given the lack of any witnesses so far." Botrel says.

"I'll be sure to let you know...That is all for now." You say before returning to your office...Tonight was going to be quite busy...But it was time to give orders and go back to your main job.

Squadrons, aircraft, pilots, and other information.

(Sorry for the major delay. At least, I see it that way. I intended to get this out a day and a half ago...Still, I think we'll get more than just a single normal turn after this, as I doubt you'll be in conversation for so long again. Though, I suppose that's just my presumption on how eager you are to keep doing IC stuff in this side plot of sorts and how eager you all are to go back to war stuff. Also sorry for the short post.)

It's good to be back to killing off our own guys again. Unfortunately, it has been so long that the players probably need a reminder of the operation situation. We were in a quiet period operating around Tilhof and Eberding, yes?

Stance: Less aggressive, maybe let Vert and Rouge go easy and let Bleu and Noir take the burden of escorting Blanc on recce.

Planes: Transfer one from Rouge to Vert.

Pilots:
Bleu: Chaney, Aliker, Ponce to reserve. Brosseau to active status.
Blanc: Gardet and Laurens to reserve.
Rouge: Marchal and Anouillh to reserve. Flandin to TRACOM. Hauet and Desjardins to active status.
Vert: Maret to reserve.
Noir: No changes.
>>
Before we start next turn, is there any way to implement heavy monitoring of Rouge?
Let's ask secretly the alcoholic pilot, the logistic guy, and the squadron chief to closely log in, out, movement in the best secrecy, leading each to believe they're our trusted one in the squad.
We'll catch the killer thanks to the different logs, and logic.

While it's only been about a day, it feels almost as if it's been much longer since you last gave orders to defend and strike from the skies. Regardless, the end of the month goes a fair bit more smoothly than the start. Luckily, or unluckily, the patrols Vert and Rouge go on never seem to spot Koerkamp T.II “Arend”s. Instead, they seem to mainly run into Koerkamp C.I "Mus" which despite what the name implies is more akin to a middle ground between a Frÿg and a Kronlein. Though something that has been made apparent by now is the fact that regardless of the aircraft Lothring has, their pilots aren't up to the same level as our main adversary, and with our own training advancements, they'll ideally soon be fully inferior with a handful of exceptions. But for now, they are a threat. Especially with that one little project they are working on.

Still, the sorties by Blanc go smoothly, with a good deal of recon and bombing done at no loss to our own pilots there. In fact, Oudin Bouhier managed to down a CN-III. However, while things went well for the recon and strike aircraft, the escorts were a more mixed bag, with Bleu managing to get a good number of victories, with Imbert downing two Bergens and Mile along with Fouet downing one each, the latter, Capitaine Fouet Lucy, was downed by Jan-Willem. Further, Estiene Auger and Barbedaurus Cartier were also shot down and Symonnet was forced down by a CN-III, though was just behind our lines. His aircraft however, was destroyed by enemy artillery before it could be recovered. Noir meanwhile suffered some losses as well, with three losses, one of which was killed by Leutnant Noah "Kileshadran" McCullough, which true to his nickname, is surprisingly from Kileshadra. While only one of our own was downed by him these past two weeks, 15e Escandre "Marins du ciel" was unfortunate enough to become well acquainted with him. Other than this, Vert and Rogue did quite well, with only one pilot lost between the two of them, though Chastain was forced down behind our own lines, after which their aircraft flipped over. Luckily, the upper wing while irreparable held, and the pilot in question didn't get their neck snapped and instead just suffered minor bruises. Still, as expected, the aces of Vert and Rouge did quite well, with l'As herself climbing higher and higher. Perhaps she'll even rival Harthmann soon?
>>
Still, the front hasn't really changed. Our forces have paused, and the enemy has dug in quite extensively, even in Lothring. Further pushes are going to be much more difficult now, and momentum has been lost to some extent. This is due to a mix of the heavy bombers the Lothring forces used extensively, the inundation lines being flooded, and far stiffer resistance than expected. While Lothring's army was expected to fold as quickly as Daloyaume, they have certainly proven our own forces wrong. Ironically, in a way, it's actually quite similar to the invasion of Daloyaume in the sense that it was meant to be a decisive war winning move that would serve as a quick knock out blow. The only problem is the fact the country is larger than Daloyaume and it's military more stubborn. Or perhaps it's mainly due to the majority of their forces not being encircled initially. No matter the reason, this is likely going to be a slog... At the very least we did our job decently. Then again, our airfields were mostly spared from the bombings...

In other news, Jagdgeschwader XIV "Eidgenossen" has been equipped with Falke D.II's. We know this due to the distinct navy blue body and wings with red rudders and white stars that clearly identifies them. It makes sense though, given how many of their CSA volunteers have become aces of late. Needless to say, there's a good deal of concern given the rumors of the craft's capabilities. In better news, more Pretan air corps forces are up in the area, and they have actually engaged Lothring forces, which is nice. Also, in Varuskie a small force at a fort meant to delay the Prußenmarkians at a fort was subject to extensive chemical bombardment. The forces pursuing the main Varuskie army was sufficiently delayed by a heroic charge after this bombardment despite the extensive poisoning the soldiers at the fort suffered. Needless to say, their appearance and the fact there was actual resistance despite bombardment both chemical and traditional caused a good deal of panic and casualties given they were under attack by 'dead men'. Regardless, despite this heroic stand, the vast majority of defenders did in fact die shortly after this charge, and those few who were able to withdraw after were quite badly wounded, poisoned, or both. The entire Regiment was given honors and medals, as was it's commander. Many including it's commander were granted these awards by the Tsar's orders, though posthumously. Still, despite this Varuskie has been forced out of some of Steyerland-Magyrian territory. Though, things are still going well in the east. Further south however, the first battle of the Sontius has concluded, and while the kingdom of Vitulia has technically speaking advanced, the losses so far are estimated to be at best 3 Vitulian's for every Steyerland-Magyrian...It's advised not to ask what the highest estimate is, at least for a while, but we believe it to be double that of the best...
>>
Still, with the month finished, maybe it'd be best to try and speak with someone...Nothing out of the ordinary has been reported by Botrel, Chopin or Marchal though, nor any more murders...yet. All three's reports mainly line up. Though Botrel not being attached to Rouge specifically is a bit more sparse and seems to be based on the official report of the Escadron made by Marchal, though it clearly has some bits missing compared to that of the direct one requested by yourself and given more directly by Marchal. But that's to be expected...

Cal? We never spoke with her.

Good grief the wings only has 10 fighters, enough for only one squadron. My plan is to keep running the last two turns -- maintain a low optempo and have Bleu and Noir absorb losses so that Vert and Rouge can come out strong when a better fighter comes along.

RP Allocation:
18x Dupont 6C = 108 RPs. Bring every fighter squadron to 7x 6C.
1 RP resupply each for Vert and Rouge.

Pilots:
Bleu: All pilots except Descombes to active duty. I expect this squadron to break in the next two turns, but sacrifices need to be made.
Blanc: No change.
Rouge: Dejardins to TRACOM. Flandin and Hauet on PR Tour for laughs. Besides, the public needs a working class hero. Marchal and Chopin back to active duty.
Vert: Guilloux to TRACOM. Charbonnier and Hemery to active duty.
Noir: No change.

After organizing the initial orders for the start of the month, before the action you swiftly hurried away on a train to Rouge again. This time to speak with Calantha. Your orders are fairly simple, but you can refine them tomorrow or later today depending on how long this went. Ideally not too long. Still, while it was unfortunate that no new news had come in that could help discover who the killer on the loose was, the calm at least meant you could catch Calantha and maybe Catherine if you so chose to do so. Regardless, the trip would take a while, and nothing much would happen during it. Though you knew that it likely would be a bit risky to do this in the future if the enemy made a major push with their air assets. All the more reason to do it now while you still have your own side of the lines mostly secure instead of later, you suppose. Especially given the new aircraft that the Prußenmarkians have been using further south and now up here with there volunteer Jagdgeschwader...

After arriving at the air field Rouge called home for now once again, you would look around for the pilot in question. You'd manage to spot Flandin bothering Hauet, and a few lesser pilots before you actually found Calantha, but you would find her by the hangers, looking over a aircraft of the escadron, one that clearly had a Conley gun. You would make your presence known with an 'ahtem' which got her to turn around before seeming a bit surprised.

"Oh, commander Valmont. I take it you are here to see me. Would zhat be right? I heard zhat you came here before to speak with zhe other pilots of note while I was away. It was a shame I was not zhere to meet you zhe first time. But I suppose zhat can be fixed now, no?" She says with such an incredibly thick accent that you are fairly sure someone who didn't know a thing about Gallonia other than it existed could probably figure out she came from there...A part of you wonders if this is forced or if she normally sounds like this...Perhaps it is something she and that one ground crew member assigned to her aircraft have that in common. Though you can't help but wonder which is worse.
>>
"Hello, Calantha...Yes, I am here to speak with you. You'd be correct about that." You say, trying to not focus on the accent, though you notice there's some sort of flowery aroma round her. You presume it's some sort of perfume. Perhaps it's to mask the smell of oil?

"Well, I must say zhat it is a pleasure to meet you! I have heard quite a lot about you and your family! Tell me, how has your day so far been? And how is your family? I know zhat you likely came to learn more about me but I myself would quite like to know about you, your interests, and all zhat kind of stuff." She gives a warm smile before asking "Somezhing zhat I really am curios about however is what inspired you to join zhe army? Further, if you need anyzhing please do let me know what it is zhat you require. For example if you need something to get rid of zhat obnoxious gasoline stench, I am glad to help out! Just cause us girls are in the military, doesn't mean we can't be elegant, no" She seems fairly friendly in tone, and genuine. Though getting used to her accent will take a while...

"Well, stories my great grandfather told me of his time serving is what mainly got me invested in the Military and interested in it, especially stories of his time under Leon Napolarte. Jacquot, a good friend of mine and the family also was quite supportive of the endeavor to join. And it's thanks to both that I joined. As for my family, they are doing well last I heard. My younger brother Gamelet joined the navy for example, though I haven't heard much from home of note since I last was able to visit them early in the year...As for my interests, at the moment they involve you. Firstly, what is that? Perfume?" You ask calmly in a fairly friendly tone. Calantha didn't seem too bad just yet after all.

"Ah, you must have quite zhe keen sense of smell!" The smell is kind of obvious, given how it sticks out at a military base about as badly as a ship on land. Though she continues "It is one of my own creations, 'Baiser de Lillie'! My family is quite talented in zhe arts of Fragrance products, and even when fighting in zhe skies, I have zhe time to craft such wonderful scents!" She seems fairly pleased speaking about this, almost a bit proud of herself.

"So, you are a chemist sort of like Ermengardis?" You swiftly ask.

"I suppose one could say zhat I am a kind of one. Zhough I did not know she was one. I have not had zhe chance to speak to her, given she is in a separate escadron. Zhough perhaps she could be somewhat skilled in zhe art as well?" She seems to think to herself after this for a bit.

"I suppose this isn't really related but, where are you from?" You were half tempted to mention the accent but decided it might not be best to bring that up.

"Well, zhe place I call home is a suburb near Nanlun, to zhe south of zhe city in a nice district with plenty of fancy homes. However, before the war I spent much of my adult life studying at a university in Auriluçon. After I worked to start up a company for perfumes and zhe like, but with zhe war starting, I had to put a pause to zhat. But I believe at zhis stage it is worth zhe minor delay." She seems fairly confident with herself with the last statement, you get the feeling she's likely referring to the popularity she'd get as an ace, especially with the PR tours.
>>
"Well I'm glad to hear that. I take it you are interested in perfume and the like. Is there anything else you are interested in particularly?" You are a bit curios as to what she'll say but given what was said, you have a slight worry she might stroke her ego a bit much.

"I zhink it is obvious zhat I am quite interested in perfume! It is one of my passions! Another is ensuring my physique and appearance is magnificent and beautiful." She says with a clear smile as she gently moves a hand to twirl a few strands of her short red hair as she continues. "However, I also am quite interested in zhe mythology, fantasies and stories of zhe world, both in europa and far abroad. Zhey are quite interesting in my opinion. And I very much enjoy being able to hear and learn about zhem. Zheir creativity and exotic nature can serve as great inspiration for zhe work zhat I do as well. Somewhat related, I also enjoy exploration! Specifically seeing zhe various beautiful lands zhat exist in zhe world! Zhe view from a cockpit onto zhe land below is quite a breathtaking one, zhough I do wish I could see zhe jungles of south Abmeryk or Asu, zhe plains of Varuskie, zhe mountains of Cipanto and many other places. Related to zhis, I actually occasionally enjoy painting zhem. Zhough, do not tell Amélie, while I know she is probably better than myself I would rather her not be bothered by her about it and have her constantly attempt to teach me. She is still a child in heart and soul... She may have talent in a plane, but I do wonder if her curiosity and childlike nature will cause us trouble in zhe future...Zhat aside, I am mainly able to make landscapes, but other zhings are a bit beyond me at zhe moment." She explains in a friendly tone.

"What exactly do you mean by those stories inspiring you? You aren't a writer are you?" You honestly had no clue what she meant, unless it was just to inspire her with names for perfumes she made. That was the only thing that made sense, though...how would those sorts of stories inspire her for perfume names? Well, good ones anyway.

"Oh, no, I am not a writer, sadly. But... zhe descriptions... zhe fantastic creatures... It serves as such great inspiration for my perfume! I try in all my power to recreate zhe fragrance and beauty of zhe stories I read, to make those perfect descriptions become... reality." Either she's reading different stories than the ones you know or she probably is probably going to be using fairly...unique names for sure. Although also very strange ones...

"So, why exactly are you interested in mythology and fantasy? What about it specifically draws you in?" You ask, it was a fairly minor question, but one you felt of interest.

"Zhe description of beautiful gods and gorgeous beings, the ways zhey lived and zhe stories zhey are in... make me wish to recreate zhose sensations in zhe form of smell. The aroma Ambrosia is described to have or zhe flour-like smell of zhe Anthousai... I wish to recreate zhem! To make zhose fantastical smells become reality! At times zhey even zheir environments too help me draw upon inspiration!" A simple enough answer from her, though it's curios how she gets inspiration from such things. Perhaps she's mainly focused on Elada myth? Then again from what she said it's likely there's other sources she's drawn inspiration from.

"Well, considering that. What unpleasant smells or sights do you find interesting or profound? Anything in particular you quite like?"

"Zhe smells which one considers unpleasant often are...not something I zhink of. Many I do not give mind to, and try to avoid. Zhe smell of sweat is... ugh, anyzhing is preferable over zhat! And alcoholic breath is no good either. It is really quite distracting and...off-putting. Despite zhat, just because a smell is bad does not mean it can't be of use...usually anyway. For example castoreum and ambergris are...quite strange and without refinement are...not zhat good, but with work zhey can be a part of something magnificent! Zhough, obviously zhere are some smells which cannot ever be improved...For zhe smells I quite like, my favorite must be zhe scent of cherries! Zhey are quite alluring and zhey are simply magnificent. I also quite like roquefort, zhough know zhat is perhaps because of it being plentiful where I lived, even if not zhe most pleasant to most. Something zhat reminds me a bit of home..." She gives a pause before saying "Oh, you also mention sight, no? Well... hmmm, zhat is a good question... I find forests to be... quite zhe soothing sight. It helps me relax, especially if zhey are near lakes or waterfalls. Ahhh, it remind me of back home...I suppose I have zhat a bit on zhe mind...Maybe when I get anozher pr tour I can go to zhe south and visit? Unpleasant sights however are...very common. Especially in zhe more poor parts of cities. Zhough I would say one of zhe worst has to be zhe fact some very disgusting sights are being considered an art zhese days...So many of zhose new ideas are so...nonsensical. Zhose artists should be taking zhere inspiration from less advanced foreign cultures instead of somezhing like zhe mess zhey are currently making..." Seems she might have something in common with Flandin when it comes to art...
>>
"Interesting...You mentioned your home, so...Mind telling me of your family?"

"Well, my parents have quite zhe company back in my home town! In fact, my father taught me all about chemistry and perfumes, which explains my interest in zhose fields! I also have some brothers and sisters, mostly younger ones. I do have an older brother who is currently also participating in the war! He is in zhe navy, and has always been quite fond of zhe sea. My other sisters have all kinds of jobs as well. I even have a brother who is very involved with film-making!" You vaguely recall a few propaganda films that were directed by someone sharing the last name Desjardins, along with a training video or two. Perhaps that's her brother? Still, she continues. "Other than zhat, most of my brother and sister just want to follow similar jobs back home. I could name zhem but... I am not sure if it will be of great interest to you. Zhough, I am curios why you ask. Do you wish to meet zhem in zhe future? Speaking of, could you please tell me a bit more about your own family? You mentioned you had a great grandfather, what was he like? And what of Jacquot? Actually, is zhat younger brother of yours Gamelet assigned to one of zhe newer battleships? "Well, since you are curios I may as well preempt some of your questions and speak about all of them. I'm sure you already know my father is involved in politics and a proud member of the FR and fairly hostile to the unionists. My mother is also heavily involved in politics, involved in the suffrage movement. Though there's been some debates of late regarding if women should be allowed as frontline soldiers among them. It's a surprisingly controversial subject. As for Gamelet, I only recently received that news that he's undergone officer training and now that he's finished he was assigned to the Clerlimar as a gunnery officer. He's quite proud of it. As for my great grandfather, he was certainly a good man, and very long lived. He spent most of his early life fighting the enemies of the first empire until Napolarte and the empire was defeated. He also partook in the revolution that overthrew the king the coalition reinstated. But when he got fairly old, he settled down and late in life became the father of my mother. While he passed away in my childhood, he instilled me with the drive to become like him and serve Gallonia and the republic. Jacquot was also quite supportive of my asperations, and helped me quite a bit over the years. I'd consider him almost like another grandfather of mine, or uncle, even if not related by blood. Though, he's getting old in years, and...despite his attempts to hide it last I visited I recently got the news that he's gotten Tuberculosis. And given his age I have my concerns for him..." You feel that you've said enough to quench her curiosity. Though after a slight pause, you add "How do you view the Escadron and recent happenings?"

"Personally zhe war with Lothring is...not something I am too pleased with. I prefer peace over war, and while zhis one with Prußenmark was inevitable, zhe one with Lothring was not... I zhink it is no better zhan what zhey did to Daloyaume. And I am concerned about zhere civilians. Especially now zhat zhey will suffer blockade like Prußenmark. It also violates the treaty of Lunedannedd, which is why Pretany is so angry about it, and arguably rightfully so. But zhere is another reason I am concerned about the civilians of Lothring. Zhere was someone part of logistics who was speaking with a superior officer zhat I overheard mentioning zhat Hilvermeer was a ghastly sight of a town now. And I am aware zhat zhere was at least a few tens if not a hundred zhousand people who lived zhere...And given our advance..." She pauses before shaking her head and saying "Zhe worst part was zhe officer told zhem to shut up and not speak of it to anyone. And zhat no one should know...I can presume why, and it concerns me." This is...concerning...The information of what happened there getting out would be a major blow to the image of Gallonia by neutral powers. Though she continues.
>>
"Zhere is also zhe apparent murderer zhat the news reports on occasionally. Zhat's a bit of a horror story. I'm not sure if zhey are to be believed or not. As on one hand it seems like propaganda, by zhe enemy, but on zhe other hand, why would our own news have some reports on it? I certainly can believe zhe possibility of a soldier who is sick in zhe head going absent without leave just to cause a reign of terror zhroughout zhe frontlines, but...I'm not sure...Zhough given you asked about it recently, I presume zhat it might actually be true. As for zhe Escadron, zhings are okay. I zhink zhat better training should be invested in zhough given the losses that the other Escadrons have taken in zhe past, especially given zhe new aircraft zhat zhe Prußenmark pilots are getting. Zhough I hope we get something zhat can counter it soon given some of what I have heard. As for my fellow pilots, I already mentioned zhat Amélie's childishness is concerning. Zhough given her skill surpasses even mine in area's, I understand why she is around. I just wish she was more collected and mature like she seems to be on zhe propaganda tours. I'm not zhat fond of her though, to be honest. Catherine is...undisciplined and zhat is a problem, but she's very skilled like Amélie. Zhough I personally don't feel too strongly about her as I feel she is far more reasonable. Rosalina's rigidness is a bit... uncomfortable. Not extremely bad or problematic, just uncomforting. Zhat and some of her secretiveness is...weird to me. Haydée is a good commander, zhough I feel as if zhe stress of everyzhing is something zhat she still hasn't gotten used to. I can't help but feel she still misses Aude...Sarra I feel should be given zhe choice to stay or fight. Zhough her being dismissed for her own sake I feel is also fair. I zhink it is clear zhat she is struggling with more zhan just shell shock. Especially given how she seems to use alcoholism as an escape from, well, everyzhing." Well, it's certainly an interesting view on things, though she finishes by simply saying "Zhe others I'm not too sure on. Zhey have survived longer zhan most but I have yet to really get to know zhem too extensively. Yda zhough seems nice, if out of place given zheir stance on zhings."

Certainly a fair bit to think about. She even sort of answered a question you considered...

"Alright...I suppose at the moment I'm most interested in is your view on the war in greater detail. You said you dislike the...intervention in Lothring as some officials insist on calling it. Can you give more in that regard?" You were curios if she was more of an anti war type or just more neutral about the whole thing.

"I feel zhat some of zhe major conflict going on now, like our war against Prußenmark, is understandable due to long-running tensions between our two nations, however some of zhem I feel are just... the higher ups of the country's government or military starting conflicts without the interest of the people in mind. Zhe Steyerland-Magyria Empire invading Illyrpsja makes sense from both national and populous sentiment over zhat assassination. Zhe Sāriqīn Empire getting involved does not, and zhe Cipanto Empire is just taking advantage of zhe situation really... And I zhink you already know how I feel about zhe invasion of Lothring. Zhey were neutral for zhe conflict, and invading zhem is no better zhan what Prußenmark did to Daloyaume. Yeah, Prußenmark already did zhe same, but Gallonia doing so is clearly for no ozher reason zhan national pride blinding reason. Zhat is not to say I oppose zhe revanchism zhat is strong in zhe government from zhe last war, but zhat does not mean zhat I agree in zhe methodology to achieve zhose goals. I feel our country has gone too far in some respects...In general I suppose I'm mostly neutral for zhe most part about all of it. After all, even zhough zhe Steyerland-Illyrpsja conflict is what started all of zhis I could hardly care about zheir desire to avenge zheir arch duke. I suppose zhat is a bit ironic zhough given zhat war is what caused zhe dominoes to fall..." Interesting. It seems she's not exactly that revanchist...Though she's not anti war and given her contributions it's clear she still wants to fight, so there's that at least.

"A surprisingly balanced view, if I do say so...How do you feel about your aircraft?" A fairly simple question. Ideally the feedback would be useful, though it probably would be more so if you actually had greater contact with aircraft designers than your very limited ability as it stood now...
>>
"Zhe Dupont? It is a fine aircraft, and while zhe Conley gun zhat I use on my airplane packs less of a punch zhan zhe normal gun zhat is used, zhe extra mobility far outweighs zhe better punch. Zhough no aircraft exemplifies zhis like zhe CN-III. If it had longer range I zhink I would want one for myself as I personally zhink I am quite adept at zhe maneuver part of flying more zhan zhe shooting part. And I personally zhink it is better to be able to have plenty of shots on zhe enemy razher than have only one. Despite zhis zhough, I don't necessarily believe in better planes or zhat any of zhe planes really outmatch zhe ozher. I believe zhat it comes down to a lot more zhan just technology. In fact, I zhink training, morale and zhe individual are key to what makes an ace, not zhe airplane. Zhough, I admit zhat we cannot hold back with our own development of aircraft as zhen we might actually be overtaken in technology. Still, I would put zhe successes of Prußenmark pilots down to zheir morale and training razher zhan zheir aircraft. Zhough I know zhat zhis sort of view is likely not held by most. I believe zhough zhat it should be kept in mind when zhe higher ups like yourself send us pilots up into dogfights." Certainly a unique view compared to most.

"Since you mentioned it earlier, can you give me more detail on your view of the murders?" You had the feeling she'd not know much given what she said earlier but maybe something of importance would be revealed.

"As I said, I hope it is just rumors and I am not too sure about zhe validity, but zhe fact it's reported on our side and zhe interest you and some others seem to have in it gives credence to it being real. I personally have no clue who it might be if zhey exist, just zhat zhe culprit need to be put on trial as soon as possible. Zhough, given zhings, I can't help but feel zhat it might just be some goal to dissuade soldiers from...getting distracted with local ladies, even if it is real. I do believe zhough if it isn't some rumor and is real zhat it might not be a singular murderer but a group, and in zhat scenario I'm not sure if it is someone on our side or zhe enemies...It does worry me quite a bit however, especially seeing how zhings are starting to make me zhink it might be real given, well, as said your and ozher higher ups interest in zhe case..."

After having answered your question about the murders, you simply give a nod and soon wind down the conversation before bidding farewell. With this, you soon return to your headquarters and prepare to create new orders, swiftly handling the logistics side of things and pilot allocation. Though are left wondering what exactly to do about the murder case, and simply the orders to give the escadrons. Still, as night starts to close, you find yourself having received a letter...One of great importance.

There's been another murder.

The letter is naturally by Botrel. However the most important thing is a new piece of evidence in the murder case. This naturally comes with another murder, one that occurred on the first day of the month, specifically at three in the morning according to an early coroner's report, and quite far behind our own lines in the north, making it unlikely to be the 1st Vesperia Division. This time, the victims were a Lothring prostitute and a Gallonian rank and file soldier, but while nothing special or out of the ordinary with this string of murders, what was out of the ordinary was a note left behind after. A letter written in both Pretan and Gallonian, all be it both hastily and with some mistakes, yet the knowledge of both Pretan and Gallonian paradoxically implies it might be someone from the 1st Vesperia Division despite the location of the murder... Apparently the only difference between what is said in the Pretan and Gallonian sections is simply that of the language used, and the letter in question is as follows.

"I care not if you bother to read this after my work, if you can call it that, but let it be known that I am not doing this for fame. I am not doing this out of pure sadism, though it is satisfying. I am doing this because these vermin disgust me. If men who claim to be soldiers seek to be so childish as to toy with women, and a women find themselves desperate and degenerate enough to let themselves be toys to a man, then I shall treat and turn them exactly as that. Toys. Things to be broken. Discarded. Forgotten. Their despicable and sinful practice will not taint this world any longer. However, I tire of going after the symptom. If you are reading this and are the type of person to allow themselves to be used in such barbaric ways, I advise you consider what you value more. Your life and dignity, or your cash and perverted desires."

Something to certainly think about...Though for now it is best to finish up your work for the day.

I wrote >>5485039, but now I have second thoughts. Given that the worst scrubs in Bleu and Noir are not as bad as those in Rouge and Vert, maybe it is time to cycle those squadrons into escort duty. The Aces can handle themselves; and let the noobs absorb bullets. Any support for rewriting those orders? I am thinking of one turn of Rouge+Noir, followed by Vert+Noir.

With the orders given you settle into the normal routine of management you are used to while waiting for reports. It very quickly becomes apparent that they aren't too pretty. Despite what was expected, the enemy has unleashed a harsh and extensive assault on our side of the lines, and worse the Jagdgeschwader XIV "Eidgenossen" is out in force with the fancy new Falke D.II. Yet, luckily, for the most part your Escadre doesn't see much of them. The same cannot be said for the other Escadre and Pretan Wings in the area...Needless to say, things don't go too well in most encounters they face with them. Despite this though, things aren't any less bloody for your own Escadre.

For Bleu, despite being on the defensive, they suffer quite an intensive bit of fighting. However, despite this, they actually manage to get off a lot better than the other Escadron ordered to defend our own side of the lines. With Vaugrenard getting downed by a Bergen and surviving the crash while Andry Chaney became an ace, downing two Koerkamp C.I's and a Bergen before having an unfortunate encounter with the enemy ace "Kileshadran" in a Falke coming in and striking him out of the sky. Though while he was forced to land he wasn't injured...Until he learned the hard way the spar for the landing wheel broke. Still, he survived a Falke, which in and of itself was impressive. Vert meanwhile did much better in terms of aircraft shot down, but worse in terms of pilot losses. This is mainly due to Liliane, who downed Three Bergen D.I's and even engaged the dreaded XIVth. A flight of four a Falke's on an offensive patrol engaged her and her own flight. Among these enemies was Vincent “Gärtner” Blumhardt and through her skill alone she survived, fighting one of the Falke's on her own in a long duel before she pulled up and forced her aircraft to stall while using her rudder to cause it to spin up and down. And as the enemy flew after her and sent a burst that harmlessly passed through the canvas, they flew right over her as she sent a burst herself that struck and killed the enemy pilot, making her one of the few to down a Falke in a Dupont. Though this soon was met with harsh retaliation from Vincent who, being a far more skilled pilot than her previous opponent and in a far better aircraft than a Dupont cause a myriad of problems for her. Her engine was damaged in the fight, and leaked oil on her goggles, though luckily she managed to avoid any severe burns from it, and she managed to get away by going low near allied Archie. Though her aircraft's engine cut out as she was returning, and her landing didn't end too well, with the aircraft being further damaged in it, causing the plane to be written off. But she was uninjured and still alive, which was the most important part.
>>
For the escorting Escadron's however, things went much, much worse and much better than either Bleu or Vert depending on which Escadron you looked at. For Rouge, every pilot assigned to fly except Yda died. Sedania survived for quite some time much like Yda, though eventually was downed and killed. Needless to say, Yda is not doing well, and her witnessing the only other survivor, Sedania, have her engine set alight by enemy fire hasn't helped. Nor has the fact that Sedania in that instance chose to shoot themselves rather than burn to death... Completely unrelated to this, Yda has started to have symptoms similar to shell shock, including a fair bit of shaking, nightmares, anxiety and a loss of apatite. Clearly they'll get over it eventually after enough time at the front. Regardless with these losses Blanc's escort was penetrated and two pilots in older aircraft were lost, though all things considered this isn't too bad. Noir did much better, only losing a single aircraft and their pilots surprisingly have done quite well in preventing themselves from getting killed while dealing a modest amount of damage to the enemy, downing a few Bergens and CN-III's. Though one did die after returning to base from shrapnel wounds suffered from ack ack and another went down in a more traditional way.

Most important with all of this however was that the diversionary strikes and recon near Leeuwenborg was able to detect a buildup of Lothring and Prußenmark forces a fair bit behind enemy lines, showing a clear counter attack. And while defenses hadn't been fully built, it was enough to give warning that was able to prevent a disaster as practically every piece of artillery in Lothring's arsenal that wasn't on a ship or in Asu was brought to bear and hammered down hard alongside a good chunk of the Prußenmark's own guns for days. The counter attack by the enemy was enough to cause a second battle of Leeuwenborg, as fighting in the city has begun again, but this is far better than what could have happened if this build up wasn't detected when it was. Other than this, things in the south with Vitulia have gone about as bad as they had been before, and the east is still contested with Varuskie still putting up a good fight. What is unusual however is what the CSA is doing, as they have sent a number of marines to take control over Ayiti after political unrest there, and perhaps a bit concerningly is a Telegram from Conley that clearly states how she is pleased with the more...proactive stance the CSA is taking in the south. Hopefully they don't try and "liberate" Pretany's or our own colonies still there...

In other news, the plan to have Catherine and Amélie work together on a PR tour has gone flawlessly. While Catherine absolutely hated it, she held her tongue about her displeasure working with her fellow ace and it worked wonderfully. Perhaps too well, honestly. As the Unionists have taken to the propaganda tour extensively given Catherine's background and the ideology of Amélie’s adopted parents. On the bright side, a lot more people have joined the armed forces, specifically the Air corps, as it is viewed as the "One part of the armed forces where the common man is treated with respect and gets the credit they deserve instead of aristocratic officers.” as one syndicalist newspaper put it, though it's fairly obvious why this might become a problem in the future if things go particularly poorly. One bright side though is a new aircraft is almost complete that should be of some use...And the amount of recruits to chose from is much higher. Though TRACOM efforts will need to be increased to handle the new influx.

Hauet's morale dropped from 80 to 70. Poor, poor Cat. Also, we should visit the hospital and pin a medal on Chaney, though I suspect Vaugrenard would spit on us.

Aircraft: only 12x Dupont 6C's in total, so give each fighter Escadron 3x.

Aircrew:
Bleu: Ponce and Alarie to Reserve, Descombes back to Active.
Blanc: de Saint-Pierre to Reserve, Laurens to Active.
Rouge: Lafleche to Sanatorium. Marchal, Chopin and Anouilh to Active. Flandin to TRACOM, let Cat do a solo PR tour.
Vert: Charbonnier on PR tour. Maret to Active.
Noir: Noir, Brassard and de la Croix to Reserve.

Orders: Vert and Noir to escort Blanc's operations in the Leeuwenborg vicinity. Bleu and Rouge on Defensive CAP.

I would not be surprised if Maret cops it the next turn. She is the last original Escadron leader, and a personal friend of Valmont. Prepare for drama <rubs hands>.

With the orders sent and aircraft limited it doesn't take long for you to find out that not much honestly has been lost from the recent sorties. If only because the amount able to be made had been reduced with the exception of that of Blanc. Still, a couple of aircraft and pilots were lost, and some injured as well, but even with this the situation is about as good as it realistically could be given how well some of the pilots did. Gabriel Descombes of particular note for the impressive achievement of downing two Falke D.II's, and one Koerkamp C.I though that is no where near as impressive. Osanna of Noir also managed to down a Falke, and arguably quite importantly Joiha has become an Ace pilot herself. However even with all of this good news, there is problems. Like the fact that Celestria took a gunshot wound to the stomach and now has a infection she might not survive from. The effect of protecting our side of the lines though was limited, mainly given the fact only six aircraft were available to cover the front. But our strikes into the enemies side of the lines at least went decently. Still, there really isn't too much to report on the front line by the simple virtue of the fact that there was essentially only one Escadron's worth out there fighting. Luckily, the PR done has paid dividends quite a bit of late. Although as a part of her PR tour, Liliane had a very public promotion ceremony. But just because not too much happened with our Escadre doesn't mean a lot didn't happen elsewhere...

Reports have come in that the top ace of the war, Hauptmann Harthmann Von Rútlingen, is dead. While it would be great to say that this was due to the efforts of our own pilots or the actions of our Pretan allies, this is not the case. Apparently, his death is an accident that was caused by a crash in maneuvers while chasing a Faeco EL2 from the front lines. Interestingly, our allies in the Royal Flying Corps have even dropped a wreath for him and his funeral. Still, this deadly pilot no longer being a threat in the skies is a pleasant surprise. Other than this, the second battle of Leeuwenborg is well underway and is going slightly against our favor. The enemy is pushing us back inch by inch and fighting is very intense. Worse, on the Illyrpsja front a new enemy has joined the fray. After extensive talks with Bulģhakia from both our own side and our enemies, they started to mobilize under 'armed neutrality'. While there was hope this could be resolved in our favor, or their entry at least delayed until Illyrpsja was reinforced, belligerent demands from Varuskie and worst of all the actions of Illyrpsja in requesting a preemptive strike on Bulģhakia which got into the hands of the Bulģhakia press solidified them joining the war on our enemies side. Their efforts have swiftly proven disastrous for the Illyrpsjan's and their offensives have gained massive territory as the Steyerland-Magyria Empire strikes from the north in conjunction. It's expected that barring extensive and swift reinforcement Illyrpsja will fall by the end of the year if not sooner. And while an idea to use Elada to move troops in was made, the country has denied any potential entry of Pretan or Gallonian troops, citing what happened to Lothring and their neutrality as their refusal to cooperate.

Unrelated to all of this, Yda Laflèche's time in the Sanatorium has managed to help. While it was actually a bit difficult to send her to one, it was possible. And after extensive faradic treatments her shaking faded. Some other methods that she was treated with to try and assist in her issues was having her watch a fire and hear an occasional gunshot, alongside other methods of forcing her to overcome this lapse in will. She hasn't mentioned anything about nightmares anymore, has an appetite and no longer twitches. Though, she does still seem to have anxiety, and after being released she has focused her funds extensively on getting coffee and tea, depending on which is cheaper. Further it's noted she apparently tries not to sleep: A potential implication that she still has nightmares. And upon her return to Rogue, Sarra Anouilh has stuck with her a fair bit.

Rouge: Hauet to TRACOM. Lafleche to remain in Reserve. Everyone else Active. Anouillh will be the only Vet to fly a Dupont.
Vert: Guilloux and Duverger to Active.
Noir: Beauvau and Delannoy to Reserve. Brassard and de la Croix to Active.

Orders:
Bleu on CAP
Blanc to strike ammo dumps, marshalling yards, and anything that can stymie the offensive. Vary the targets and do not be afraid to go deep behind enemy lines.
Rouge: Close escort of Blanc.
Vert: Balloon busting.
Noir: Follow a half-minute above and behind Blanc and either bounce the interceptors battling Rouge or shoot them up whilst attempting to land at their airstrips. Give Maitre plenty of tactical leeway on this.

High (but not maximum) Optempo. Ils ne passeront pas!

Actually, let me make two alternative Order packets:
> As >>5514695, aggressive stance, or
> Bleu and Vert on CAP, Rouge and Noir on Escort, similar to the last few turns.
>>
>>5514222
Or alternatively, how about this allocation with fewer bombers and replacement aircrew in favor of more fighters? Let me know what you think, guys.

Procurement:
18x Vérany C.2 for 144 RP
1x S.U.D Caraque R with Bomb Racks for 10 RP
1 RP of resupply for Bleu, Rouge and Vert for 3 RPs
18 Pilots for 3 RPs

Airframes:
Bleu: 4x Veranays, 3x Duponts
Blanc: 3x SUDs
Rouge: 6x Veranays, 2x Duponts
Vert: 4x Veranays, 3x Duponts
Bleu: 4x Veranays, 3x Duponts

Pilots:
With the replacements, each Escadron can have 10-11 pilots, including those in the hospital. That said, maybe Blanc can make do without any replacements, because so many of their pilots are in Reserve.
Give orders that Veterans, and Aces in particular, have priority for the new Veranays. Nuggets will fly the Duponts and act as bullet sponges.
Bleu: All able-bodied aircrew to Active.
Blanc: Girardot, Rigal, le Sueur to Active, all others in Reserve.
Rouge: Lafleche to remain in Reserve. Everyone else Active.
Vert: Charbonnier to TRACOM. All other able-bodied aircrew to Active.
Noir: Beauvau to Reserve. Brassard and de la Croix to Active.

Orders:
Bleu on CAP
Noir to bust balloons
Blanc, Rouge and Vert to fly Circus missions against enemy airfields. Stir up trouble and give the Boches payback for the last few months.

Given the short supplies, normal/medium optempo

>>5514695
Taking a few shocks powerful enough to move a street car will do that to you. Anyway I expect the next turn to be quite interesting given the amount of investment you have. And also likely quite bloody.

Don't want to go into high tempo immediately. Get more fighters and allow the rookies to score a few kills first.
>>
>>5516192
The moderate optempo is driven by the low levels of supply; we need to save some for the turn after next. Given the aggressive use of Rouge and Vert, I expect to lose some aces, but hopefully some of the enemy aces will get attrited as well. The idea is to have some shock and awe from the introduction of a new craft.

>>5516367
I get it, although parting with some veterans will hurt. That said, the first plan also has its merits. It will help our ground pounders most.
>>
>>5516397
Yes, exactly. My thoughts were:

>>5514695
Secure Leeuwenborg. Also, the aircraft allocation aligns with the 3:1 figther:bomber ratio we began the quest with.

>>5514701
Resist increased enemy activity in our airspace, as noted in the prior few turns. That said, I wonder how effective CAP is before the advent of radar.

>>5514719
Offensive Counter-Air, the typical stance of the Royal Flying Corps, with its attendant emphasis on attrition. We rick heavy losses, minimal impact on the fight for Leeuwenborg, and enemy aircraft running rampant above our sacred clay. That said, I really, really want to kill some opposing aces this turn.

So intended to do the turn tonight but things have prevented me from doing so. I've got all the basics set up, so if you'd like you can check the doc and see the new pilots who will surely not die during their first week of the job. So at least once I work on it tomorrow I'll just need to do the rolls for combat and the like now that the pre action book keeping is done. Sorry for the delay btw.

The initial orders you laid out were to engage in escort of Blanc and force response via targeting the enemies airfield. This was met with initial success in the first day of the operations. Amelie naturally taking up the mantel of the defending escort that would ensure the pilots of Blanc would not fall to the fire along with a few other pilots. And with this, the pilots of Rouge and Blanc set off to the first air field that was to be targeted for destruction. Very quickly however it became apparent that resistance was going to be harsh, as a flight of Falke D.II's from Jagdgeschwader XIV "Eidgenossen" came up to meet them in interception. Worse, among them was an ace. Frederich. Though, the pilots of Rouge and Blanc had a height advantage. And more importantly, made up mostly of new aircraft with some of the Escadre's best pilots. The enemy was spotted at a distance, and Calantha along with Amélie took to increase altitude while Catherine and Sarra along with some newer pilots others stuck close to the bombers. Initially, Calantha and Amélie engaged. However, Calantha was denied battle this day as her guns jammed, and despite her best efforts, the breach wasn't able to be cleared despite her best efforts. This left Amélie to mainly deal with the enemy force by herself, at least for the first few minutes.

Initially, she kept her altitude advantage, using the speed of the new Vérany C.2 to her best advantage, making a few passes on the enemy aircraft below. For the most part, the initial attempts were ineffective, the pilots of the XIVth being quite skilled. However despite this, one of her rounds must have struck true on one of them as one simply went down without a fuss, likely having struck the pilot. The others however were not so easy. However, during this Amélie noticed something. Unique markings. They were tied to the symbol of some state in the CSA, and one of the states of Prußenmark. It was clear this pilot was an ace of some sort. And so, she focused on them specifically. However, the other Falke D.II's would simply take the opportunity to move in on the escort and the S.U.D's. This left Amélie to face off against her foe without much in the way of interference.
>>
Initially, it was in a sense a battle of stalling for time versus ending the fight quickly, with Frederich trying to climb and stay behind Amélie despite the altitude difference so she couldn't dive, while Amélie tried maintaining her altitude advantage while also getting shots off at her rival. This went on for a while, and Frederich seemed to even the playing field after some time. And with this, he started causing problems, managing to get a snap shot as the two soon maneuvered into a rolling scissors. Frederich managed to get another snap shot off, a couple rounds harmlessly passing through canvas before Amélie pulled high and rolled into a dive directly on the side of Frederich's aircraft. Unleashing a hail of gunfire a number of shots struck his aircraft and while it seemed things would be fine at first, the damage clearly broke a number of spars in the top wing as the attempt to continue the maneuver caused the upper wing to start to raise up from the force of the wind, and with that it was clear that Frederich was going to go down with a lost wing. and at the height they were at, there was no hope for his survival... Amélie then rejoined her flight and assisted the frey that happened between the rest of the enemy Falke's. Downing an extra before the sortie was over. She would later down yet another Falke a CN-III, and two Bergen's in other sorties.

Yet Amélie was not the only ace to face another. Vincent, whom had previously faced Adélaïde's close friend and apprentice of sorts Liliane, would come across l'As herself. One could say the fight was somewhat amusing, in that the flight which encountered Adélaïde's escort was on an offensive patrol rather than on interception. Unlike in Amélie's flight, it both would be swiftly ended and with the enemy holding an altitude advantage. The Gärtner went after one of the other aircraft in the flight and dealt significant damage to Lucie, who was forced to RTB where her aircraft was salvageable despite the damage. Adélaïde, who noticed the strike, simply maneuvered to dodge the fire from the enemy Falke that aimed for her and position herself in a way to counter an over eager pilot. And, she was lucky enough for Vincent to be in her sights pulling up. A simple burst struck something, as the aircraft struggled, one of the wings looking like it could break while the engine seemed to die. Yet, Vincent didn't go down to his death. He actually managed to slowly descend and land behind Gallonian lines. His aircraft was found destroyed, rammed into a tree and flipped over, but he himself wasn't discovered. Turns out after landing and coming to a stop near a forest, he simply set the throttle up before jumping and let the craft ram into the nearby forest, denying us an intact example. However, he was captured with a few bruises and with some sort of leg wound, his attempt perhaps not going so well. Or the troops who captured him perhaps having a bit of a scuffle before he was detained...

While all of this news of ace on ace combat having gone well sounds good, along with the additional news that Haydée Marchal had joined her previous commander in the ace club, there were a number of devastating losses sustained to Blanc. All three aircraft of the Escadron and the skilled pilots flying them, were lost in action. Two on the same day thanks to a single Lothring pilot in a CN-III. But the worst part was that Jacquot Girardot was among them. While we do not know if he survived or not, having gone down behind enemy lines, his perhaps permanent departure has caused quite a big of grief among Blanc, the entire Escadron having been good friends, some seeing him like a brother they never had. And that isn't even to begin on the good cooking he could do.

Other than the fact our aircraft had to coordinate with our allies rather than Blanc to continue our operations, of which a number of allied aircraft were lost despite our efforts, our own Escadrons with one exception had lost not too much compared to the number of aircraft available. Most of the Escadrons lost on average at two pilots. Mostly recruits and no one too vital to our operations, but it is still important to note. However our top pilots continued to add to their tallies these past two weeks, which was quite good, with a total of 11 Bergen D.I's downed, 2 Koerkamp C.I's, a T.II, 7 Falke's including the two aces, and 7 CN-III's. Honestly, one could say we were quite lucky. Balloon busting went fairly well too, with most of Noir avoiding retaliation, and the few combats they engaged in being inconclusive. Though, Juelina Blanchet was killed by AA while attempting to down a balloon. Things on the ground are also a bit poor. As while the enemy hasn't pushed us that far back, they have for the most part retaken the city, holding it as a major propaganda win. Their offensive has stopped now however, and they likely have taken extensive losses. Though we too have not been spared harsh casualties from attempted counter attacks. As is to be expected with general modus operandi for the operations for the poor soldiers in the trenches. At the very least we have a bit of a more minor victory when it comes to operations in the air.

(Intended to get this out way earlier, but better late than never I guess. Also, do you think I've done too much in the way of IC interaction or not enough? What sort of critique do any of you have? It's been a while since I've gotten your two cents.)
