You are Lieren, greatest son of the village of Nothing, revered hero of Shangrala, and brother to the virtuous, empathetic rebel Angron of Nuceria, whom you are currently assissting in his own battle against tyranny after lending him a helping hand in freeing himself, as well as a few lessons to awaken his latent psykerist talent as an empath with the assistance of your other brother, Magnus. Having just reunited with your fellow Shangralans and Astartes sons, whom have traveled the webway alongside your Beloved Emerald Lotus blossom, Kanzeon, and her sister, Anahita, to reinforce Angron's own every growing army of former gladiators and slaves, you noticed your followers amongst the Aeldari race were keeping a distance between themselves and your once enslaved brothers. Seeking answers from Noble Carys and valorous Folant, you learned the truth of how your brother was made a slave to begin with and the role the ever prophecy chasing Aeldari of the craftworlds played in it in their attempt to avert the dread future they beheld.

So, as you are not a simpleton who blames the world for one the ill deeds of the few, you decided it would be best for Angron to know of the truth of his capture and the cause for his attempted assassination, in the pursuit of bringing peace to his mind and preventing any misunderstandings or resentment from arising between him and the fair Aeldair, because of the misguided and foolish actions of those sycophants of destiny. After all, it would be a great tragedy if one day, your brother by blood leveled the blades of his axes against those whom are your brothers by thought and philosophy.

Of course, it is an easy task to separate Angron from his army, and his flock of advisors, since you have a feeling they would take greater offence and be outraged to learn the truth of his capture than he himself would be, and would also be less open minded towards your alien allies, especially after learning of the dark deeds committed by their kind. It may be a misplaced worry, but you yourself feel more insulted and angered when those you hold dear are mocked or threatened, and amongst Angron's circle of confidants is his father Oenomaus. And a father's instinct to protect their children is strong indeed, a father's wrath is a forced to be reckoned with one so powerful it can even shake the heavens. And you know that as well as you know that those whom are different are often held with unwarranted suspicion and mistrust.

Which is why it is best to reveal the truth to your brother and introduce him to Aeldari whom are not distant and deserving of said mistrust.

"And who better than myself and Folant" Carys says jauntily, as the more dour ranger marches at your side "To prove that not all of our people are apathetic to the plight of humanity, or retain the overwrought sense of pride that lead us to ruin"

"That not all of us are unyielding, sanctimonious fools whom follow orders and fate without thought or consideration" Folant says coolly, lifting up his hood to hide his inhuman features from the guards surrounding Angron's tent

"You certainly did what I once calculated as so improbable to be impossible" Kanzeon says kindly, though muttered under her breath "you're sect of Aeldair managed to worm their way into my heart of steel and make me fond of them, which I shan't soon forgive

"You are determined to hold onto your grudge towards those long dead, though those lost souls are deserving of your contempt" Carys replies, just as quietly as you enter into the tent, throwing open its closed flaps with a flick of your wrist. Inside, Angron is sitting at the head of a long table, while his generals and most trusted advisors are caught between excitement and confusion, some struggling to understand the nature of the reinforcements brought to them and others amazed by the wonderous sights they have witnessed, never before seen by any living eyes upon Nuceria. And your brother is taking great care to respectful explain to them the capabilities of their new weapons and the allies that came with them. And you can tell by the delirious fire in his eyes, he is greatly anticipating telling them what Kanzeon and Anahita's true bodies' weapon platforms are capable of.

Perhaps, after your discussion between him and the two leaders of the followers of the eightfold path denounced and turned inward, you can assist him in the endeavor to demystify the tools you have given to his soldiers and explain their function and use in a manner that can be easily understood by the uneducated layman. Perhaps after you have formally introduced him to Leaders and generals of the Shangralan forces whom have volunteered to join his war?

"Ah, Brother and sister, I had thought you two had wandered off somewhere quiet to...reacquaint yourselves after being apart for so long" Your brother half jested. Kanzeon's glare could be best described as colder than a moonless winter night, more threatening than the glow of a dark light lance and truly inhospitable. You yourself find your cheeks flushing the moment you hear the innuendo.

"Lieren is not so base a creature" She nigh hisses "to be driven by animal instinct and lust, simply the sight of me is enough to satisfy what desires he does possess"

"Tis true, I have a maiden's heart, as pure as untrodden snow" You laugh "And, do take care not to offend my dear iron willed lady, she can be as fierce as a panther"

"I can tell from the look in her eye" Angron said with a low chuckle "I meant no offense, forgive me for running my mouth, sister in law"

"I'll consider it" She grumbles in reply, crossing her arms but reducing her withering glare into a much less sever glower "To say such a thing in private would've been bad enough"

"Yes, I nearly fainted at the thought of such lasciviousness" You say sarcastically, faking weakness and making both your wife to be and brother smirk in amusement, despite themselves, defusing the tensity in the air

"Your brother is married" Oenomaus gawks "That is somehow more of a surprise than their being a whole army of giants emerging from the deep mountains. Thought he was too flighty for that"

"We found common cause and understanding, and found our lives were much more enjoyable with the other at ourside" Kanzeon explains with a content smile "My scholar and I...well, we see the world through the same lens and knew the other so well and intimately, that love came naturally between us, even if it took awhile for either of us to dare to admit it to the other"

"You feared rejection?" He asks, in disbelief

"She is beautiful, yes, as stunning as a night sky unhidden by fog or a day unclouded by mist, or the rolling white clouds that cover my world" you say sweetly, grabbing Kanzeon's hand "But, the love between us is...spiritual, unconditional, selfless. Built upon acceptance and understanding, rather than passion, desire of any sort"

"Just empathy and care" Kanzeon said, holding your hand tightly

"Agape" Angron said with a nod "I thought you were joking when you referred to yourself as having the heart of a maiden. "

"Truly romantic, sharing a love few can even conceptualize. But, did you come just to explain that to us, flaunting your relationship like courting song birds, or do you have business? We were about to discuss strategy" Oenomaus asks good naturedly, and you can see he is happy for you and Kanzeon, if only because it gives him hope Angron may one day also have one as beloved to him as Kanzeon is to you

"Flaunt? Maybe. Brag. Certainly " Kanzeon bluntly answers "Though, Lieren did have something he wanted to tell his brother, I just followed. Though it'd be a waste not to boast when I've the chance to. So go ahead, praise us for how incredible both of us are to possess the other!"

"Hmph, What a proud wife" Oenomaus said with a nod as he stood and beckoned the others to follow "Well, no reason to intrude on the conversation of two brothers, and I feel I might anger either of the lovebirds here if I'm left around either of them together, heh"

"Just don't run your mouth" Kanzeon advises as they leave the tent "Its easy enough to stay on my good side, right?"

Carys and Folant look away

"Right?" Kanzeon asks again, sarcastically and in good humor as you sit down from across your brother.

"So, besides coming to me to parade each other around and be toothachingly sweet with one another, what brings you to my tent brother?" Angron asks as you retrieve your bottle of dragon spit and pour him a glass "I'd say this is no time to celebrate, but the high riders have proven easy foes to overcome thus far"

"Its about that past" You say simply

"An unforgiveable crime in the past" Kanzeon continues
Cont

"Adorable" Your brother remarks on seeing how closely insync the two of you are "Is this another parable of yours? To impart into me some sort of wisdom?"

"Its about your past" You explain, bowing your head

"And that assholes who tried to kill you" Kanzeon says, clasping her hands together. Angron spills his drink

"I've already restrained my surprise and anger" You say, lifting up your eyes to look into Angron's and gauge his reaction "I am still furious, but such feelings are directionless, and those whom have wounded you are long dead by your hand"

"Just retribution" Kanzeon remarks, still smiling happily

"I know how I ended up captured, I've been told the story. A child, bloody and half dead in the mountains, dragged to the fighting pits. I remember that day well" Angron said harshly, his hand trembling as he lifted his glass for you to refill "It haunts my dreams, scrambling away from a rising pool of acid, confused, alone, terrified. I've done well not thinking on what happened before then, slept better to"

"It was an assassination attempt" You state sternly, pouring the glass "and the perpetrators were not native to this plane"

"From whence then, did they hail?" He asks, sipping the drink and nearly choking on it "Lieren!? what the fuck is this"

"A local Shangralan liquor fermented from fish guts and then distilled several times. It is known as Dragon's spit and is adored for its strength and bitter flavor, amongst certain circles. Others find it more palatable if diluted in fruit juice and pulp, or used to strip paint from wood" You explain with a mischievous giggle as Angron's face twists in disgust and anger

"or remove rust from wood, cleanse infected wounds, purge their body of sickness or light fires with its fumes" Kanzeon dully adds, trying to keep herself from laughing herself

"Asshole!" your brother declares "But, you were saying before you tried to poison me? Where'd the bastards come from"

"They weren't even human" Kanzeon mutters

"What?" He asks

Folant through back his hood, and Carys took of her helmet. Angron's eyes went first wide, then narrow.

"Aeldari, an ancient race with a sordid past. The largest of their surviving population are centered on great interstellar craft, as large as small planetary bodies. They are lead by skilled pyskers, though the whole race is naturally psionic. Psykers whom are particularly skilled in the art of foresight, propecy and divination" You explain rapidly "Carys is a former farseer of Ulthwe, whose seer council guided me to Nuceria and allowed me access to their closely guarded extradimensional network known as the Webway. However, she follows the Journey, the collection of my personal philosophy, views and beliefs, having forsaken the dominant way of life and living amongst the craftworlders"

Angron blinked and sipped his cup and visibly shuddered at the taste

"And they tried to have me killed as a child" He growls, low and threatening
Cont
>>
>>5489671

"One of them did" Carys says guiltily "For they refuse to see reason and believe prophecy to be immutable, that there are but a handful of outcomes to every life and deed. Instead of each action changing everything, in perpetuity"

"As Lieren is so fond of saying, Fate is the salve of fools, and their are many fools amongst the Aeldari" Kanzeon said angrily "Carys, Folant and the rest of the flock who've have enough sense to see reason and realize your brother's path is superior their traditional societal organization and strict adherence to its restrictive and dominating paths, had nothing to do with it"

"I know they couldn't cause Lieren would've hung them himself if they had" Angron snarls, grinding his teeth in impotent rage "Alien, do you know which of your worlds tried to kill me? And why?"

"Destiny is an illusion of the proud and fearful" Carys said regretfully "Even if I explained it, you would not understand"

"Try me, pointy ears" Angron huffed "I need to know, so I can know who I need to kill"

"They'd never admit to it, and I was not high ranked enough even when I was in Ulthwe's good graces to know more than it was attempted and failed" Carys says measuredly and calmly "And all operatives were lost. I do know why it was attempted. They foresaw you killing a great dea; Aeldari and causing suffering across the stars. But that was never preordained"

"Our creator's ambition" Angron muttered ruefully

"We cannot be certain that is what they foresaw" You say, setting down the bottle of dragons spit "And if it was, then I would prefer to avert bloodshed between our races. Neither of us have any quarrel with the other"

"Beside their first colossal fuck up" Kanzeon whispered

"Just a council of them made the decision" Angron said coldly

"A pound of flesh can cause great trouble and harm" You warn

"You might've killed the seer who made the decision. Not every action taken by a farseer is approved by the craftworld's seer council" Carys said serenely, trying to quell your brothers fury.

"I hope they were a renegade. Because I cannot tolerate the high and mighty who would condemn an innocent youth to death and doom them to bondage to live" Angron said, composing himself though his words were still barbed with a deep, simmering rage "Let us end this discussion, before my mood worsens"

"if it'd raise your spirits and wash the fury from your heart, would you like to be introduced to the leaders of the Shangrala volunteers?" You ask hastily, clapping your hands together to move on from the now very much treacherous and uncomfortable suspect

"Yes!" Angron said, choosing to do the same "Once we fetch some wine to wash the taste of that...abominable drink from my mouth. How can you enjoy that poison, brother?"

"Oh, I mostly carry a few bottles for an emergency accelerant or disinfectant" You admit "But it is good fun to trick others into trying it, on occasion"

"If you'd allow, I'd prefer some tea instead of wine" Cary

"Same" Kanzeon chimes in "have you given him tea yet? I'd like to see how he reacts to it"

"Is this another trick?" Angron asked suspiciously as you asked Folant to go fetch the leaders of the Shangrala expeditionary force
_

"I like him, wish we had him back on Shangrala" Lai song remarked, laughing at a joke Angron told

"I'm happy to see the journey spread to distant stars. Tell me, Thal'kyr Angron, have you read the journey? I believe its teachings would prove most illuminating to a soul as tortured as your own. You have lived a hard life" Yin lei offered, plucking at the ends of his beard

"I do not believe I've had the chance to yet, but I noticed some of the beggars and gladiators following in my brother's footsteps referencing and quoting it" Angron said "And I wish to visit that land some day, Song, it sounds like a paradise, with how it has been described, at least from how Dai Niu described it"

"Uncle, it is an Eden" Nikephoros states with a nod "I could not believe my eyes when I first stepped upon it. Comparing Terra or Nuceria to it...the differences are stark. It is more than a paradise, and I am proud to have taken part in its defence"

"You should've seen the looks one our little siblings faces" Dae-hyun, cherry cheeked and tipsy laughed "They were used to a polluted, benighted world, a harsh world, and they followed us, thinking we were walking to a war more terrible than the unification wars back home, and now those who lived to see our victory there, are living in the lap of luxury! Hey, Hey! Father! Did you know Sergeant Mee-Kyong found herself a man! Yeah, she's gotten married! Isn't that incredible"

"And its all thanks to Lieren's diligent work and incredible vision and foresight. I remember when he told me he could feed all of Yan, and then proved it" Dai Niu said with a nod "Why, the population of Long-Jia has only increased , despite the disastrous losses of that last war. I..It uh...fills my heart with sorrow, thinking of all those children whom will never meet their fathers or their mothers, and yet will enjoy the fruits of their sacrifice

"It saddens us all" Yin Lei commiserated

"Luckily, the ministry of development will ensure they are well taken care off" Qadif said solemnly, bowing his head "I just hope the orphans of the dead hold no grudges"

"Like the witless Kang or the Mao children" Yin Lie spat

Angron listened, absorbing what he heard, as you sat silent. Elazar to, had remained quiet, and Dandan had wandered off with old man Shan to show Angron's own generals she wasn't idly boasting when she said she could erase mountain tops.

"You" He said suddenly, looking at Jinhai "You're the emperor of Shangrala, yes?"

Jinhai nodded as Dai Niu nearly choked on hearing how irreverently Angron spoke to him

"Why'd you come here?" Angron asked sharply

Jinhai bowed his head and smiled

"Lieren has never been selfish, he has given his life to help others and spread prosperity. he has ended famine, ended plague, and brought virtue and order where once there was naught but oppression. Through his wisdom, our people regained their honor and pride, and learned of benevolence and how to live virtuous and meaningful lives" Jinhai explained "I was told to stay on my throne, but...what brother would I be, if I did not seek to repay the debt that cannot be repaid. All of Shangrala, owes him dearly. He has reshaped the world and ended its long night, bringing security, plenty and unity"

"He makes jade from nothing" Yin Lei remarked

"I came cause I wanted to" Lai song snorted

"I want to die on a battlefield, rather than my bed" Dai Niu said gloomily "So as not to shame my dead sons"

"Lieren saved our people, as he save his own" Qadif laughed "And my wife is heavy with child, so she could not come"

"He's my brother and leader" Feng said proudly "Where he goes, I go"

"A Righteous cause called" Elazar said with a smirk

"I...I see" Angron says

"And we cannot leave tyranny unopposed. We share an enemy, and as Kin of Lieren, we see you as much of a friend as we do him" Jinhai continued, nodding as he reached over and poured Angron a glass "Your struggle is now ours, Angron"

"Thank you" Angron said humbly, gratefully bowing his head "Thank you all"

You and Kanzeon smiled, as Dae-Hyun began rambling about this and that
_

"Impressive, Impressive. That is Aeldari technology, isn't it?" Angron asked, as he watched a squad of soldiers practice with Paralyzing whips and Dark light Rifles "And that crystalized light that shields your sons, will that be widely available or only given to a select few?"

"it is a recent addition, and it is costly to manufacture" Kanzeon explains "It is old technology, needs rare materials to creature its various components, like the armor worn by Lieren's astartes"

"that comes from your flesh...does it not?' Angron asked quietly. Kanzeon shrugged

"It is an alloy of the same material' She answers

"and I intend to dress you in a raiment of it" You say with a smile

"You what?" Angron said

"We can still bleed, and can still die brother" You answer "Besides, is it not befitting one as heroic as yourself, to be dressed in shining armor"

"Is that alright with you?" Angron asked Kanzeon

"Please! I want the challenge! Kazzy had all the fun making Lieren's toys!' Anahita barks "And it isn't like it is super taxing on resources, we can separate material into their base component elements and then recombine it to create what we need"

"Its how I healed my wounds. I ate a mountain" Kanzeon says with a smirk "We could manufacture enough to outfit your army in a reasonable allotment of time, if the high riders last long enough for me and my sister to begin production at full force"

"I do not intend to make this a long war, but so long as it won't harm you, I shall accept this gift" Angron said

“Behold the greatest of my dear brothers sons Ahriman!” Magnus gestured over the company that had fallen into two lines as an honour guard for the Giant of Prospero whom had come to visit his eccentric brother, his own retinue of eight others was somewhat intimidated by the appearance of the Second legions First Company; The Brotherhood of Panthers. Magnus allowed himself a smile, he could feel his Brother here hiding among his men and Lieren would know that Magnus knew so a friendly game of hide and seek it was.

Ahriman listened as his Primarch leaned down to him and the others while they continued their walk towards a secluded glade. The Brotherhood guiding them between them even as they walked upon a path of blossoms and white stone, this place was truly beautiful. But what shocked him most of all was the shift in his Sire's persona now seemingly more relaxed almost carefree sometimes suddenly turning and peering carefully at a stationary warrior to get a closer look, likely to see if it is his mischievous brother whom he said was lingering around.

Ahriman hide his thoughts however even as he felt the delicate touch of Psykerism touch it from who knows where. The First Company of the Chimera legion were vastly different from their kin, while the majority of the legion wore nought up pale tones in a show of humility the brothers panther were obsidian, etched in sigils and rather than the trademark featureless helms they wore magnificently cared ones taking the shapes of snarling panthers. The walk went on and on finally the Thousand Sons finding themselves in a pagoda beside a gentle stream but something was throwing the Chief Liberian off? The amusement radiating from Magnus himself, he was about to ask why when his Father spoke.

“Well done Lieren, well done you made it all the way here, Ahriman turn about.”

He obeyed and saw only his kin?

“What...should I be seeing my lord?” he asked narrowing his eyes to look about.”

“Do you not see my playful brother? How many are we here?”

A quick head count followed “Te-” he starts and stops...ten? There were ten now?! An imposter had slipped among them! Before he could think further Magnus strode forward and embraced a marine Ahriman realised now focusing he'd never seen before.

“Oh take it off Lieren, you're a panther not a kitten stop playing when the game is up.” Magnus waved his hand and the air around the stranger among them warped and the disguse fell away like ink in water.

An iron haired giant boomed with laughter and wiped a tear from his eye, the Thousand sons simply stood confused....he swore he heart a few member sof the first company sniggering now decorum had left this place.

Oenomaus was warily observing the men and women from Lieren's land, some would call it paranoid spying, but the old dog of the arena had long since learned to be cautious around those whom offered their help suddenly and without any apparent gain. Too many times he and his son had been betrayed by wretch's whom would gladly lap from the high rider's hand and would betray even their own mothers for slightly better accommodations or rations. Lieren, he had learned to trust. Some of his peers, said it was common sense to thus be trusting of those whom were loyal to Angron's Elder brother. Oenomaus didn't think so. The other giants, whom he had gathered we all of Lieren's sons, he was not wary of. That he had close to three hundred of them was a tidbit of information that had first made him pity the green eyed, wild beauty whom stuck close to the iron haired giant's side, but after seeing how affectionate and similarly minded and souled the two were, he realized that the vast number of their heirs was simply a reflection of their deep, almost incomprehensible love for one another.

It was the others he was suspicious of. There were nobility amongst them, he could gather that from their dress and way of holding themselves, but their manner was odd. Like this black General fellow whom had managed to introduce himself in clumsy Nucerian. He acted more like a holy man. A zealous preacher, with the fire of fervor ever smoldering in his belly. In his eyes was the wildness of faith, mania of a sort. But from how the other Shangralans acted around him, he was respected by all of them, truly respected, nearly as much as Lieren himself. And it didn't take Oenomaus long to recognize that he followed the Journey, the same philosophy that had taken Loc'ea by storm soon before they overthrew the "bad nobility" and aligned themselves to the cause of freedom, even if they hadn't yet joined Angron's own struggle for it or even found he fought the same battle. He had figured Lieren had something to do with that.

Another subject of suspicion was this emperor, Long-Jia. He was young and appeared to be the image of fairy tale nobility, the lies they told to make themselves and their rule appear righteous and just. He couldn't understand why he had come here personally, to risk his own life for slaves. It didn't make much sense, but Angron had quickly become fond of him and The black general, and the others he had spoken to.

Like that woman who filled the sky with fire and noise. She was one to be wary of, he knew.

Oenomaus realized, he was only not suspicious of one of the generals whom he now had to share command with. And that was the man who flew the horse banner. He seemed a fighter at heart, and familiar to him, unlike the warrior who painted his armor in flames, or Man with the odd headwear of tightly wound cloth.

"Oenomaus" Lieren suddenly spoke, directly at his shoulder. The gladiator did not start, though tried to avoid the golden eyes looking down at him. How long had he been behind him

"Lieren" He return, nodding his head as he notice by avoiding the giant's eyes, that there was a strange, cat sized creature on his shoulder. A reptile of some sort, with hanging whispers like a catfish, a serpentine body, a lion's mane, a tufted tail, nubs of horns and a scale that looked like a pearl on its brow

Suddenly the giant knelt to the ground, bowing his head and performing the odd gesture of greeting of cupping his fist.

"I bring you a gift, father of my brother. A companion whom shall serve you well when it matures" He said as the odd serpent thing looked up at him with oddly intelligent eyes "And serve your children after you. You wonder why I bring you this gift, it is to show my thanks through more than word, for raising and caring for my brother. He is the great man he is now, due to your guidance. It would be most improper to not show you my gratitude, and I can think of no reward grand enough, besides one half of the symbol of Long-Jian Imperial power"

Oenomaus blinked, nodding his head and staring at the creature.

"And what exactly is that thing?" He asked "I'm humbled you'd think an old dog like me deserved such high praise, but I don't exactly know what that creature is, or what it can do"

"It is a dragon, A creature whom once roamed the mist heavy skies of my world, before being hunted to extinction for their meat, hide and horns." The giant explained, standing to his full towering height as he held at his arm, the queer creature coiling around it and nestling its head in his open palm "Despite their great, near human intelligence and natural empathy. Like the Qilin you saw the emperor astride, I was fortunate enough to find the few that remained and so began efforts to return them to our world"

"And you'd give one of them to me as a trophy?" He asked, feeling as if the little "Dragon" was judging him somehow

"As a companion" He corrected "A mount, when it grows large enough, and a show of trust between our worlds. To my understanding, only the triplets of Jinhai and Daiyu have been given such an honor as to raise the first generation of the dragons returned"

"I don't know what to say" Oenomaus mumbled, feeling tears in his eyes, though he did not know where they came from or why he felt so touched by this odd gesture of good will

"Then nothing is needed to be said" Lieren stated with a sagely nod "The child seems to have accepted you, it is your choice if you share its respect"

The old gladiator held out his hand, reverently lowering his head, as if he was accepting his first sword from the Lanista that raised him. And nearly fell on his ass as the little critter flew through the air, without wings

"It can fly!" he gasped, as it began to circle around his head, inspecting him like a curious puppy. And with that, the Iron haired giant skipped away, and he was certain he could see him smirking. Oenomaus sighed, and prodded the little beast between its horns

"Fine, seems you and I are stuck together now, I name you.." He paused, frowning as he thought of a name for the shimmering scaled creature. Well, it was a brilliant shade of red...mostly, some of it was white, and other parts orange.

"Eruthrós" He said with a fatherly smile, as the little beast chirped and bit his nose
_

"So this is the legacy of our ancestors" Angron said with quiet, somber awe as he ran a hand through the designs Anahita had etched into her walls, all square shapes and geometrical works of arts, mixed with cogs and squat images of smiths at work and herself standing amongst them "This is the height humanity reached, a remnant of how far we had advance, the technology we had created and wielded. It puts the high riders to shame"

"Oh you certainly know how to make a girl blush, is that a family trait" Anahita teased, skipping and hopping around to control her excited energy

"Hmph, I was just filled with pride at witnessing the grandeur of the past, its like walking through an old temple, and feeling for a moment a shred of satisfaction shared with the past. Of deeds long forgotten and accomplishments faded and unremembered" He continued on, crossing his arms over his chest defensively "And hoping to one days raise my people to further heights, than the era which birthed you and Kanzeon"

"And Mari, and Al-Uzza" Anahita said fondly "And those who had not survived or forgot themselves"

"Hmm" Angron grunted, before patting a hand on her shoulder "I'd like to hear more of the latter. I to have lost people whom I was...as close to as brothers"

You nodded as well, as the lights in the corridor turned from white, to orange, before settling between orange and pink to make a warm, fuzzy peach colored

"I'd like that" Anahita said "Anyways! You need to see my workshops, yes? Get down into the forge, so I could demonstrate and show of what kind of weapons I can outfit you with? I have a lot of examples cooked up for you already! Though I'd be happy to hear your thoughts of how we can fine tune and customize them to your needs. You strike me as the sort who gets into the thick of battle and rips and tears his way through his enemies. Am I right? I'm right aren't I? Tell me what sort of weapons you prefer, and i can make the finest master craft you've ever seen of them...uh, though you might wanna ask Kazzy to decorate them, if you want them to be as beautiful as they're effective and efficient, I've never had much of an artists touch"

"You talk more than your sister" Angron noted

"Kanzeon speaks her mind, you should see her when she's excited or truly incensed with rage" You chuckle
Cont
>>
>>5492425

"If you want to see quiet, you should meet Mari" Anahita said with a bark of laughter "Kazzy can ramble and rant much more than I do, if you get her going"

"Hmm" Angron said, nodding and smiling "Well I've only just met her. Suppose I'll have more chances to see her at her most talkative"

"Yeah, well just ask her what she thinks of Eldar or misuse of our gifts to humanity, she'll chew your ear off" She sneered "Now, preferred weapons"

"Anything that kills quick" Angron said as you gave a stern look to Anahita and she frowned

"Can't we make his new toys first?' She asked gloomily, pouting and trying to appease you with eyes like a puppy

"You can have your fun and forge him his new tools soon" You say, as Angron turned to you curiously "After He and I have gotten the measure of each others abilities as warriors. In fact, why not get to work now, make some weapons for him to use against me, so he can see just how skilled and talented a weapon smith you are as well as see the extent of your production capabilities and arcane technology?"

"Good enough for me" Anahita said with a shrug "hmm, lets make it a gladiatorial arena! Broadcast it to raise moral!"

"What's happening, the floor is shifting" Angron asked sharply

"Anahita and her sisters can freely reshape and alter the internal structure and mechanisms of their bodies" You explain "Their living metal flesh can flow like water at their command, and they can reorganize and repurpose every molecule of it. A most miraculous ability, and you and I could do the same with the star metal, if you practice the skill of doing so"

"Like flexing your hand" Anahita said with a grin "Though, usually we leave most of our important, useful, or simply complex and advance faculties intact, since it'd be a bit of a pain in the ass to constantly rebuild and rewire the complicated bits and thingy ma-things, like the cloning bay or the manufactorums. So usually we just move those bits around, for example, I've just carved out what used to be my dining hall to make in your fighting ring, and moved it up twelve levels to be right..."

"In front of us" She cheers, as she pushes open doors that flowed through the walls to stand at the end of the long corridor, to reveal a large stadium, filled with holographic images of an audience and a massive statue of herself, dressed in armor, hands on her hips and chest lifted with pride as she stood atop a cartoonish depiction of a barbaric woman who you knew to be her deceased traitorous twin, Avalokiteśvara. And her new, younger sister, Liberty, sitting on the edge of the statue, smiling innocently

"Impressive" Angron whistled "Our ancestors must've been able to build whole cities in a single night with this material and skill"

"Oh, this isn't anything compared to the true treasures of the golden age" Anahita boasted "Though, admittedly, lots of those were lost before my time"
Cont

"A tale for another day" You said with a knowing nod "A grim tale indeed, of the hubris of man and the fall it brought about. But now, prepare yourself, brother"

"Kazzy tells the history better than I could" Anahita said as she walked up into the stands atop a floating staircase built by her will

You walk to the other side of the Arena, as a wall of weapons appeared in front of Angron and hid his choice from your view. You sat down, meditating and clearing your own mind to prepare for the duel, centering your thoughts and bringing true serenity to your mind. Allowing you to plan and strategize far more efficiently

"Going to start broadcast this on my hull and projecting it on the surface! Letting you know so you can give the people a show!" Anahita shouted, legs crossed and a primitive microphone already in her hand

It just occurred to me that the mechanicus might have been a massive engineering club that got co-opted by a religious zealot.... And eventually got so extreme that they became the cogboys we know and love/hate today.

If the heights that the golden age could do this and more... The mechanicus truly are little more than hobbyists.

Why are there votes for trying to out savage and out brute force a personal combat primarch that has that as their sub specialty? Lieren will get smashed and the spar will be of marginal value.
Night crane seems to be the best bet, also will be interesting to see if the pseudo psyker nature of primarchs will be vulnerable to it. All in all Lieren needs to fight smart rather then hard or else every big fight will go down like the Bele'kor one.
>>
>>5493093
I mean it could be best not to play all of our cards, you never know who might be watching.
>>
>>5493093
Because Angeron doesn't have a martial art and we do? And his favorite weapons are axes rather than his fists?

It isn't savagery and brute force we are using against him, It's technique. Ferocious and damage oriented technique, but technique.

Besides, we are able to manage a single turn against him, then we can adapt.
>>
>>5493093
Because we're trying test ourselves. Not win.
We need to learn where we stand in combat skill before we decide to hown to fight.

>>Unsheathe the sword of love, adopt the Carp Style stance and try to feint and parry Angron's first strike

Angron unlike us has never fought a foe that he couldn't simply overpower. The most he's fought were augmented bloodlusted Ogryn and giant beasts. We on the other hand have fought daemons and the butcher king.

This difference shall be most telling when our skillsets clash.
>>
I really don't get why people constantly down play Lieran as weak among the primarchs.

Especially when he's fought some of the most dangerous stuff around.
>>
>>5495479
it's because pride cometh before the fall, and really we only have been able to fight to a standstill and had to rely on Sevatar's dueling strategies

>>
With a thought and an unnecessary flick of your wrist, you call the Sword of Love from its sheath upon your hip and reorient it midflight so as to grab a hold of its hilt. Holding it flat in the air, you admire its two faced blade blade, one half silver and one half gold as the lights of the arena reflect off its edges. Its winged guarded graced with Lapis lazuli and plum purple jade. The character of love, etched just above the azure and plum wings of the guard, glows with an internal light. Tracing your fingers down the milt of marble white wood, you lift up the pommel of the staring eye. One half of it golden and wide open, the other half silver and closed. The tassel of silk, with its ever shifting and changings writings sewn in golden and silvered thread, presents to you a particular passage of the journey concerning self mastery. Smiling softly, you lift the blade so as to make it flat once more, holding the oversized even for your hands Jian in the air with on hand, as you keep you other free and raised slightly above your head, adopting a sword fighting stance you've found to be most favorably with the Carp's dance, at least while one is wielding a long and heavy blade. You'd use a difference stance if you were holding any other weapon, such as the Guandao or its decendant the Chendao.

Focusing on the meeting point between the two faces of the blade, you narrow your eyes and take deep, slow breathes, waiting for the signal that will begin your sparring match with your brother and for his initial assault. You have watched him fight before, but only against mundane men. You've never seen how he would handle himself against an opponent equivalent to himself, his equal and peer in physical strength. His martial style is lethally efficient, caring not for grace or elegance. Barbaric, but effective, concerned with ending fights quickly more so than avoiding harm to one's self or complex maneuvers or subtle technique. Only a fool, however, would look down on his fighting style for its simplicity. Simplicity is often more dangerous than extravagance. Angron was naturally talented, and did not need to rely on technique or trickery to win his fights. He was well trained by the fighting pits of the high riders, were that natural talent of fighting honed to a further lethal edge.

However, despite his inborn prowess and experience. He has only fought his lessers, unlike yourself whom has faced true challenge and threats beyond their own power. It will be interesting to see how your brother, raised on bloodshed, will hold himself when faced with an equivalent adversary to himself. Will his natural expertise and finesse in battle prove insurmountable? You to, were born a capable warrior, but are you Angron's equal in the art of war?
Cont
>>
>>5495711

You sigh, centering yourself as Anahita declares the beginning of the battle in a most excessively theatric manner, but her words are distant, far from you, as you blind yourself to all sounds, sights and sensation of the world beyond the arena, to devout all of your attention to and focusing it on the battle soon to start. So you cannot hear what she says, but are aware she is giving ring side commentary on this battle between brothers

There's a sound, like a gunshot or cracking whip as the wall. You know it to be the sound of Angron kicking from the ground, beginning his charge towards you, rushing to close the distance of the arena in a few, bounding steps. Opening your eyes, you see him, moving as quickly as his superhuman, augmented physiology will allow him to. To any other opponent, he'd be a blur, an unseen sound, an unavoidable death. But your inhuman sense of perception, both innate and trained through the numerous troublesome opponents you've encountered, allows you to follow him just as your body will allow you to easily keep pace. In one hand, he holds a crescent headed axe, in the other, the favored sword of Nuceria, the Gladius, shorter and broader than the Jian of Long-Jia.

He is upon you as you turn your blade and grab hold of it with both of your hands. He has not yet witnessed the carp dance, so you decide to entertain him with it. Stepping to the side, swaying and turning yourself as you step around him, bowing your head to avoid the first of his swings, his eyes track you like a predators. His axe is stopped mid strike, as you effortlessly duck beneath it. He thrusts with his gladius, aiming for your stomach, you lower your arms, catching the edge of it on the winged guard of the sword of love. Sparks fly, your eyes meet.

You lunge forward, locking his sword with the guard of yours, aiming to incapacitate the arm holding it by slicing it with the silver edge of your own blade. The heel of his foot meets you knee. Pain surges, numbing the struck limb. His axe whistles, swinging downwards towards your still vibrating leg, the flat end of it aimed to drive against your already unsteady leg. You pivot on the heel of your other leg, bending backwards and kick with your wobbly leg, catching the flat of the axe head on it as. Releasing his gladius, you jump and roll through the air, landing on your feet as Angron pursues you. There's an intense, focused look in his eyes, a look you share. He swings both of his arms, trying to catch you between his axe and gladius. Holding your own blade sideways, you thread it between the gap between the edge of the axe and the shortsword. Then, rotating the sword in your hands, catch them again with its wing shaped guard.

Angron headbutts you, rattling your thoughts and turning the world red for a fraction of a second. When your vision returns, he is lunging, axe held above his head in midswing, gripped with both his hands.
Cont
>>
>>5495713

You sense an opening in his form. You feint, making as if you were performing an upward thrust, before shuffling and pivoting on your heal, writhing like a swimming carp to be nearly pressed against your brother. Then, pulling your arms down and to your side, you maneuver the sword of love out from in front of him and under his arms to be held at your hip, pointed aimed towards the ground

He's committed to his swing, and is unable to redirect or halt it. Adjusting your grip, you swing wide, aiming for Angron's helmeted head.

Too late your realize why he chose a helmet that exposed his mouth and jaws. He bites into the edge, stopping it from delivering the full force of your strike, as it cuts into the metal guarding the upperhalf of his head. It would've concussed him otherwise, but now only throws his head back. He slams his elbow into your stomach, and lets go of your sword as you instinctively curl your belly to avoid being hit.

His axe comes up from the side, slamming against your own helmet. You stumble backwards and see blood trickling from two shall cuts on angron's cheeks

Swaying, you avoid his next lunge, and the two of you disengage, leaping away from each other. There is a distance of three paces between him and you.
That first exchange of moves have left neither of you wounded or winded, and neither you or he has yet to land a telling blow or debilitating strike against the other.

You circle one another. Angron hurls his axe mid stride. A distraction as he pounces, Gladius held high in the air as he leaps to close the distance. A plunging strike.

What is your second move, Lieren?

>Catch his axe, throw it back at him.

>Dance away from his plunging strike, and try to land an uppercut

>Deflect his axe with your sword and bending backwards, swing the flat of your blade against his side

The Axe is flying at us fast than he is moving, catch the axe upside down, sway to the side and hook his sword hands wrist in the beard of the axe. Us stepping and his own momentum will make him stab himself in the shoulder with the speed of both our momentums combine since we'll be passing.

As we pass it will also expose his side heavily even if as he turns, deliver a second brutal blow to his torso/leg side. It is important we release our grip on the Axe after or he will use it/our arm as a level to get a good swing on us.

>>5495714

>Redirect his gladius and shoulder check him, using his momentum against him

He turned two of our and one of his parries into improvised attacks meant to disable or disorient to allow more attacks.
Followed every distraction, strike to the head or axe throw, with a lunge.
No feints so far.
We can only guess if the general theme of aggression will redouble into recklessness when he is pressed or if he will get creative.

"you had my curiosity, now you have my attention."

I went with the Panther Black armour
>>
++Historic Log M3X-XXX++
++Return of the Second Son++
“It had been a historic event the return of Lieren, Primarch of the Second Legion, the Emperor's Wandering Dragon, the Lord of Panthers having finally returned to most holy Terra. Long had his name been known and whispered upon the Throne World; a distant so so devout in his duty even so far from the Emperor's guiding hand. His return was heralded by jubilation unseen since Unity itself for while there was much joy when the Wolves of Fenris and Cthonia their records were bare. But this? This was a far flung prodigy finally coming home.

I was privileged to witness his arrival, his first steps upon the sacred ground of Humanities cradle and I was not disappointed. No if anything I was outstanded. Lieren stood taller than his brothers if only by a little. His armour was as obsidian with inlaid etchings both silver and gold, filigreed in the richest of jade, while he wore his hair bound in a bun he looked every part the conquering general, but his eyes.... I shall never forget them. Clearly marking him as a scion of the Lightning Lord, they blazed like the sun upon all he observed.

Yet marching down the steps of the lander he made no boast nor show of bravado instead he knelt and scooped a handful of Terras own soil into his hands and wisped it through his fingers, He remained quiet a moment longer passing his snarling Panther helm to the fabled 'Fortunate Son' of the Second before marching towards the Imperial palace, it was a somber experience watching a man so refined move but it was his final motion that forever bound him in the hearts of the citizenry.

Before he entered the palace he turned, looking over us all gathered there and in a show of unspeakable humility, he saluted us whom had come to welcome him back. He then rose, handed his blade to one of the Emperor's own Golden host in a custom of familial piety...disarming himself before his lord.

Such a scene, I shall never witness it again.”

I'm clearly dissatisfied how good Angron is keeping up against Lieren. He don't have the same experience fighting equal or superior opponents that Leiren has. That level of fighting would have happened in second spar or something, when Angron would have the measures of Lieren. As for first spar Lieren should have dominated it with his superior martial style and experiences, imo.

You referred to the time he battled Russ, that was full Nail Angron vs a Russ drawing him in intentionally. Can't really compare it to no nails Angron fighting a post human for the first time

>>5497789
I like it but wish it was snarling. Naming a first company that is fine imo it's not like we have Panther Priests, ride them, paint them everywhere, name the whole Legion for it and have some following us around.

The Brothers of the Panther have always been our best. No reason to deny the 1st company the title. Themed gear is always fun

It's cringy when blatant. Themed gear only works when subtle (see the beakies). Those cross heavily into cringe territory.
>>
I'm fond of them myself. I got the idea from the many custom sculpts coming out these days. I was under the impression the only thing close to a refence that the beakies covered was knights? Agreeing to disagree anons

The Raven Guard use a lot of Beakie armor, you know, because BIRD.

Couldn't we always just theme our beakies around the phoenix's instead, they're already birds.

MkVI 'Beaky' armour is not a bird ref its a ref to old knight helms and every legion used it not just Ravenguard.

The Lion of Caliban overlooked the Ocular readout table its hole-display casting the Primarch of the 1st legion in a ghostly blue light. Three Legions were available for assistance in this campaign and as much as it churned his gut El'Jonson's gut he knew he simply needed more manpower and since the Xenocides the Dark Angels had not been the same. Secrets, they were the currency of his legion but not like how Magnus searched the stars for them, no the 1st kept them and kept them well.

But whom to call to aid him, whom would not insult him nor probe to deeply into his and his Legion's affairs. Whom would work long side them in a tactile manner and wage war in a cooperative manner? He looked at the long range scans once more and the icons before him.

His lip curled into a scowl when he looked over the Wolf emblem knowing he'd sooner go in alone than deal with the Rout and suffer the indignity of having to go personally to ask Russ to 'lend his wolves whom roamed the stars' to this venture. Yet alone how clear it already was swiftly becoming the two Legions couldn't work together upon the same field of combat.

Next his eyes came to fall upon the sigil of Ultramar, the blue clad host of Roboute Guilliman. He thought upon it some long moments for the Warborn were combat compatible but their Primarch, he was a politician and commander, a shrewd strategist to be sure but upon this front he could broach no dissent of his orders nor challenge of them before his own Sons yet alone their new guests. But most importantly...he simply didn't trust the Master of the Macragge for he possessed a strange spark of ambition he couldn't put his finger on.

Finally the last sigil appeared when he enhanced the scans to those furthest but still in range; the Lotus of Shangrala. The Lion looked at the symbol long and hard, the Chimera Legion were stalwart, cunning and at times mechanically brutal but more importantly they like the Thirteenth were most certainly combat compatible but they brought something forward no others would; discretion. Lieren had shaped his Legion admirably, their results were exemplary but more importantly the Primarch of the 2nd Legion amusingly enough like himself knew the value is silence and secrets. The Golden Eye'd giant knew when to ask and when to leave well enough alone and thus would not probe him or the 1st legion for answers he'd simply hear the plan and carry it out.

The Lion sat down his choice clearly made but he allowed himself to muse a moment at how quaint it was that his closest brother understood much like he these things. How both knew they had blanked aspects of the histories and both knew not to ask out of both professionalism and respect. So very unlike proud Fulgrim of the 3rd... Maybe their father had designed the two eldest to watch over the others for Lieren was ever the part of the big brother? He smirked at another thought; how funny the only one the Panther calls elder brother is in fact a Lion.
>>
As a side note what do you guys think about trying to get a portal going here? We have our boys return to Terra so that they can begin the work of mending our Legion and then Angron can have some of his own lads come through. Give him the same chance we have had? Im also suggesting this so Lieren can go out and continue his own adventures, secure our own homeworld, get the Eldar arc and new Varro arcs going. We can't afford to stay here for a whole planetary unity that is far, far to long.
>>
>>5499016
Primarch Party!
Conquest with a part of five.
>>
>>5499016
I have thought about it when the campaign here is done and we start some reconstruction efforts, it's not an easy thing to do. Lieren didn't do it alone either, beside the help of the warp anchors, even the wanderers and our eldars aided him.
But only for sending an expedition force of Angron legion here, not for sending something to Terra.

Sending our marines to Terra is a bad idea, extremely bad in fact. While the idea of giving them work to do is not bad on his own and can be considered a good gesture, there is a ton of things for why it would be bad.
There is something sensible that will require our attention, to ensure it goes smoothly, and that cannot happen with the share might and tech that can return with our space marines. Not even considering the thoughts and memories our sons minds now have.
That equipment and memories will not walk there, until that sensible thing is resolved.
Remember that someone from Terra that arrived on Shangrila was searching for proofs, knowledge and secrets. Said someone is completely harmless for us and his plans are not going anywhere. Let's not do his job for him.
In addition having our marines would help us in wars, and Lieren well has still much to do. Before helping Yr-s (i can't remember their correct name at the moment), going to Lorgar or considering going to New Varro. The space around the solar system of Shangrila is still quite unknown to us just to name something.
For what we have accomplished here, i think it was a good pace. Some months have passed in Nuceria, not even a year.
>>
>>5499016
The portal takes an absurd amount of energy, Angron would have to rebuild a lot of Nuceria first, and devote resources that could be going towards improving his people to that megaproject.
>>
>>5499109
>The portal takes an absurd amount of energy
That's assuming we don't go looking for the Old One we had the option for earlier in the quest.
>>
>>5499109
We could try to connect with perturabo, if anyone could theoretically build a power source it would be him.
>>
>>5499109
Thankfully the portal that we created was only temporary. Being blind by ambition is something we can avoid, when research and further use of the temporary portal we can create allow us to learn more. While also having an immediate use of bringing a small expedition force to our location.
The development of the warp anchors was brief in comparison to many great creations. Imagine if more time was devoted to it.

And now we'll teach Angron the greatest lesson of all. DON'T JUMP IN ALL THE GODDAMN TIME!
>>
In your minds eye, a thousand different exchanges appeared before you, diverting from the current moment as you lift your head, following your brothers swift movement into the air above it. A thousand different responses and counters, cascading as your natural fighting sense and instinct works in tandem with your inherently mechanical intellect, the machine buried beneath the man you chose to be performing its function admirably in the moment you'll have to react to your brothers latest attack. Calculating every foreseeable possibility and measuring carefully the benefits and disadvantage of each action or move you could take. All in an instant, you narrow down the thousand of possible response to hundreds and swifter yet those hundreds to dozens. In the time it takes to blink, the dozens are reduced to ten, as you consider each of the moves your mind designs and find the majority wanting due to leading only to your brother's success against your or proving otherwise detrimental or in someway inadequate. Being too risky, too affected by factors you have no control over, too slow or simply less efficent than your other options. Those ten are reduced to four, and by time your nerves twitch and activate, hearing you command and reacting to carry out your will, starting by twisting your heel in the dirt and turning over the wrist of your right hand, you have found the most effective and efficient move to make. Calculating from thousands of choices down to the one most advantageous for achieving victory over Angron, in the space of but a few milliseconds, you've found the veiled path through the application of raw logic and reason, and thus allow you overflowing excitement to spar with your brother issue forth once more, unimpeded.

A confident, nearly cocky grin graces your face as you step forward, and with the flick of your wrist, redirect the tip of his gladius by fortifying and boosting your strength with the momentum of your brother's own fall and then, still carrying the force of his leap, take another step forward as you push and force away his blade from yourself, pushing aside his arms by applying their own inhuman strength against themselves, amplified by your own, equally ridiculous levels of muscular power.

Now, with the danger it presented to you now nullified and avoided, you lower your shoulders and twist around. In one movement, dodging the axe sent flying from Angron's hand a moment ago, while also slamming your shoulder against his own, kicking from the ground to meet him as he falls, once more taking advantage of his momentum falling through the air. You feel the impact, ringing and resonating from your shoulder, down your arm and tingling from your spine throughout the rest of your body. Angron is met by a greater force as your shoulder blade strikes his own. Having reach the ground as you slammed your side against his, he spins around from the force, wincing as he struggles to keep his footing as he reels.

Cont
>>
>>5499349

You, unaffected by the whiplash of the maneuver, land back on the ground pivoting around as Angron, disoriented by your successful redirection and being suddenly and strongly slammed against, tries to reorient himself and raise up his fallen guard. You do not allow him to opportunity to do so, as, with a single sprinting lunge, your upon him. Still wearing your serenely confident grin on your lips as you bring the pommel of the blade of love forward and ram it into his unarmored gut.

Your brother's eyes widen, and his face twists and contorts with both pain and nausea. He grasps for your shoulder, and you flow away, back peddling, shifting one foot behind the other in the rhythm of a carp swimming through water as he takes a staggered step forward. Already, his stomach is bruising. His eyes narrow, and his hands straighten and stiffen, as he adjusts his grip on his gladius. He remains partially pent over, as he, now much more warry of you, begins to circle you, looking for an opening as you stand stalwart and unmoving, smiling as you trace his every moment and study it intently, waiting for his reprisal.

It comes, rather cunningly, with a large cloud of sand he kicks your way, aiming for your eyes. Like any opponent you faced with a modicum of skill and wit, he's realized your eyes are the foremost obstacle to be overcome if there is to be any chance of defeating you. Not only for their ability to discern the truth of all they behold, but also because of your own ability to methodically analyze and scrutinize what they see. It speaks highly of your brother's skill as a fighter, that he is more concerned with that trained intuition rather than the innate power given unto you by your golden eyes. He knows you are a skilled enough warrior to possess what martial artists call foresight or what psykerists would name precognition. Something that few, if any, of his opponents have been capable of, and certainly none of them were his equal in terms of physicality or reaction speed. You can count on one hand the number of opponents you have met, amongst men, who had that particular gift of martial excellence. Beyond your human opponents, there were many more.

this gave you a distinct advantage over your brother. You're the first opponent he's faced, even considering the high riders propensity for augmenting their slaves of all sorts, to be of beyond human ability and skill. While you? You cut your teeth hunting down monsters and slaying Evil Spirits and those empowered by their foul energies.

Opening your eyes, having closed them to avoid being blinded, you sense your brother but do not see him. His presence is behind you, you can feel it by the weight of his violent intent, which he has not yet learned how to mask or hide completely, as you learned early in your youth.
Cont
>>
>>5499350

You glance over your shoulder, and see another cloud of sand flying directly for your eyes, but before you close them, you also see Angron rushing forward, from the other side of you as he threw the sand. He retrieved his axe, and has his arm pulled back to throw it again. But that could be just a feint

His gladius was held at his side, low, the perfect angle to stab forward or slash upwards. But that could also be a feint.

This is reminding you of when you fought Cui Fu. What a battle that would've been if he had been born with a body like you and your brothers.

What is your third move, Lieren?

>Kick sand into Angron's face, and with one hand, try to catch the axe, and with the other, parry his gladius.

>Reach out, and try to grab a hold of him by his throat, shoulder or collar bone as he charges.

>You don't need eyes to see, reach out with your other senses and swing your leg, trying to kick Angron's out from underneath him.

Angron is coming, our plan is simple. Spin and and drop low, but how low? We roll backwards all the way his swords strike becoming impossible to use from its position and his axe either thrown over or or the swing becoming voided.

But why this roll? So he charging all that power and strength, his unsure footing will make him stand over us and we shall simply roll back them kick up with both legs launching him into an uncontroled spin into the air! Then we flip up from our position and pummel the man as he spins in the air!

Konrad Kurze looked on in sadness at Beloved Sanguinius, the most treasured son and Angel of the Imperium. The Blood Angel Primarch had fallen so far in such a short amount of time and the contrast was so stark were they not kin one could mistake the withered creature before him as another being. The Angels warm skin and flowing blond hair had given way to sunken skin like ivory and the once blond locks now hung flat and matted white. He looked like he'd aged centuries for even his once pristime wins were now dotted in grey, shrivelled and unkempt.

The master of the Night Lords walked through his brothers personal chamber pasted the scattered papers and a pair over over turned hard wood seats. He caressed the broken remains of a statue which once depicted a man wrestling with a snake. His Fallen Brother waiting patiently upon the thrown opposite the door through which he'd entered.

“Sanguinius? Brother? Do you hear me?” Kurze asked a sad melody in his voice.

The Angel stirred upon his throne looking up weakly, “Yes brother I hear you.”

“Then you can still stop this bring your sons back from the clutches of the Great Enemy! War need not claim them!”

“No.” was the simple reply

“No? Why?” Kurze was at a loss?

“Bother we are so similar... our gift of foresight however is different. You see the Worst of futures, I see only the best of them-”

Konrad stopped at the base of the throne allowing his fellow primarch a moment to give voice to his madness.

“-you think me foolish? No you see bother it is a simple thing. You see the darkest futures and so you move to avoid them, you feel joy when a crisis fails to come to pass, the dark protector delivering the people of the Imperium to a brighter future. But me? I see only the futures we dream of and wish for, futures denied.”

“What do you speak of?” Kurze was all business now for his brother was now sitting upright his chest full of breath as he continued speaking and volume raising.

“All I can do is mourn what may have been! Every time fate is rent asunder I see countless faces and joys snuffed out! I have seen the future where my Sons could endure but now it is gone! I saw so many of us together.... I...but now all I see is this Konrad. This moment, fate has led here. The most glorious, wonderful and good end for me is right here with you and my sons? They were doomed the moment the Thrist was uncovered, so now I allow them to sate it before they are damned, their souls cast into the warp.”

The Angel had risen now and Kurze saw flickers of something...distant yet so close. He saw himself and his brother right here as it is now but their places were reversed. Yet that fleeting vision was all the Primarch of the Ninth Legion needed to throw himself upon his brothers claws cleaving his hearts in twain.

Curze held his dying brother close as a last message was whispered in his ear “Half. Will. Always. Fall.”

I flipped the script from one of the novels!
>>
Nice. Personally, I prefer a future where Kurze goes so crazy he comes back around to being sane and just decides to take himself and his legion and fuck off to the ghoul stars and the outer dark and cease all contact with the imperium. They just sit out the heresy. It would be like he would say to Horus "yes I will fight for you" but in reality, he does not show for Istvan. >>5500225
>>
It's also hilarious to me that during the whole heresy everyone is jumping at shadows thinking where are all the night lords and driving themselves paranoid. I also think the Thramas Crusade was the precursor to Kurze's suicide. He wanted as many of his sons dead as possible and did not want to do it himself so he sent his sons against one of the strongest warrior legions to cull them.>>5500237

Rogal Dorn the seventh found, now master of the Imperial Fists walked the long corridors of the Emperor's personal vessel taking the time to look through the long viewing window at Inwit, at the Phalanx and allowed himself a ghost of a smile; such order and discipline please him. While he and his father had talked much upon the bridge of the ancient vessel which was nigh a hive unto itself Rogal still found himself awash with questions; one of the more pressing being the itch on the back of his neck and the feeling he was being watched. So the lord of the Seventh legion stopped his walk and turned to look out the window proper using its sheen to watch behind his back his stance widened and his feet became as anchors.

“Come out” he said bluntly to no one knowing his watcher would clearly hear him. Yet for a few passing moments nothing happened until finally emerging from seemingly thin air appeared a giant in obsidian armour, the helm a snarling panther. The figure was noticeably taller than himself and reeked of...blood, slowly it loomed towards him black smoke slowly venting from the mouth piece, the very image of the harrowing tales mothers would tel their children.

“You are Lieren then-” The unamused Primarch spoke curtly “-Horus said you were theatric.”

The figure quickly slumped forward with arms limp and a groan escaped the vox which sounded greatly at odds with the grim armour. A hand raised and the helm was pulled off revealing the man beneath. “Did he really spoil my entrance?” came a thickly accented Gothic voice

“I'm afraid so” Dorn droned still not having turned from the window.

“Oh come now Brother this is our first meeting! It had to be special!”

“So you planned to scare me?”

“Well nothing else seems to work! Russ said you were a stick in the ice”

“I am not this”

“its a joke!”

“I know I just don't find such things funny.” Dorn finally turned to look at this so called playful panther whom stalked the Emperors halls. “Hmmm...I imagined you'd be taller”

Lieren jumped back dramatically somehow drifting in the air a few moments giving a comical air “You said you didn't like humour!”

“I said I didn't like yours, come walk with me I have another appointment” Rogal began to march without waiting for a reply, Lieren however swiftly fell in behind him still somehow floating through the air? “Ask your questions then if you were so keen to watch me” Dorn continued his tone still dry.

The two began to speak about upbringing, about culture and surprisingly a shared joy in building Dorn was beginning to enjoy his overly dramatic brother somewhat but soon they had to stop talking as the newly found Primarch was about to enter his destination.

He held out his hand and Lieren shook it grinning widely before with a laugh announcing “Finally got you smiling!”

Dorn forced his face to a neutral expression once more unaware as to when the hijinx of this man had won over a smile.

“No you didn't” he said firmly stepping through the open door leaving Lieren behind,

“I saw i-” The Primarch of the Second Legion was cut off as the door closed, Dorn let the smile return.

Forcing the past from your mind, you shut your eyes tightly as the sand your brother threw reaches your face. Just as he hoped you would, thinking that blinding you would be a great handicap to you. But unfortunately, Angron failed to take into account the beyond human clarity and sensitivity of your senses beyond sight. Which have been heightened further now that you have removed optical feedback and sensation from the equation, allowing the four remaining natural senses to expand and heighten even further. The world may have become black to your sight, but to your hearing, your touch, you scent and your taste it has become a vivid collage of colors. Each of the four works in tandem, to draw together a picture of the world you've blinded yourself to. The thundering steps, the reverberation through the sand, the shifting of the air, the scent of blood and sweat and the taste of it stinging your tongue, the sound of Angron's breathing, his heart beating pounding, his blood flowing. In the world of the blind, an image is painted with a few masterstrokes. You had always known to trust more than your eyes, even considering their advantageous and miraculous ability to discern the true nature of all they beheld after a moment of intense study. Shangrala, after all, is shrouded by dense white fog and ever present mist. Those raised under that white, ethereal coat, learn quickly to rely on their other senses as much as that of sight if not more so. Its an adaptation most creatures of the world share. And through the teachings of self improvement within the journey, some like yourself have heightened this natural sharpening of the senses beyond the realms of what had been thought possible.

And that is without taking into account the ability to sense and monitor Qi, that you had learned by accident.

That supernatural, spiritual sense joins with the four innate senses and so the picture you've made of your surroundings, the mental landscape you have crafted, becomes as vivid as if you were observing it with eyes opened wide. Perhaps it is even clearer, with the unnecessary details and distractions removed so what is vital and necessary to see becomes even bolder to your mind's eye.

No matter. For the image you see, that you've painted, of Angron's charge, is enough for you to defend yourself against him, no matter the angle of his attack.

He twists his wrist. Angling his axe's head to strike flat against your brow, directly on the brand placed there. A stunning maneuver. He throws his arm forward, lunging and using the momentum of his axe swing to twist himself around in anticipation of a retaliatory strike, while push the tip of his gladius into your side. Ah. Neither strike was a feint! He telegraphed both of his attacks so greatly to make you think one was a diversion before you were blinded by the sand he threw! How Clever.

Unfortunately. the way he is moving to both dodge and strike, is rather unsteady if you were being generous in describing it. Exploitable, if you were being honest. All of his weight is held up by his heel and he could be easily knocked off that precarious balance.

Like so. You throw yourself to the ground, pressing your palms flat. Pushing up, you swing both of your legs outward in a circular motion, drawing your heels through the sand before lifting them in a rising kick as you hop from the ground using your hands. Angron has tumbled to the ground, thrown to it by his own movement forward. His excitement to close in becoming his literal downfall.

He's still has a hold of both his weapons.

Or he did, for a moment. Before dropping them and lunging at you from the ground, like a panther. You fall onto your back, stunned by the sudden aggression, using one hand to block his hand as it seeks your throat. With his other, he begins raining blows down on your head with enough force to scramble the various sensors and artificial senses within your helmet, and dent the star metal making it. Ringing your skull like a temple gong!

What is your forth move, Lieren

I just realised something, the Fall of the Eldar aint even a thousand years ago at this point! Holy shit there would be (comparatively to 40l) tons more of them! Not only that while the Crone worlds have been subsumed within the Eye they wont all be totally locked down yet!
-
So what do you guys think our plan should be for the ol Stag of their Pantheon? naturally we gotta get in there Aeldari restoration an all that jazz. But any theories? My only idea thus far is while caked in Antiwarp charms and so on start raiding said crone worlds on the very outskirts to get some relics to use as Foci then Mein him exploiting Paracausality to draw him out so the Silverslut throws him up and out Cronus style!...then fucking leg it.
>>
>>5504561
That would be quite the big risk for helping out the Eldar, wouldn't really see the point so soon, we gotta consolidate our own home system and surrounding stars.

Malcador was nervous; a rare thing for the Sigillite. He had found himself once more upon Shangrala the world of swirling mist and ancient wonders...and several headaches the reason for his visit now being among them. He had received reports from Horus in regards to the equipment and weapons brought to bare not only by the Second legion but also their base human auxiliary forces. This equipment had been sought after by the Mechanicum which had led to a brief but brutal skirmish ending in the Mechanicum being exterminated, bodies never found, the scions of Mars had also submitted reports but Malcador knew them to be overly hyperbolic in their accusations.

Walking through the foggy fields the scene would be viewed as haunting to many, the honour guard sent to receive him were always half hidden by the misty shroud and the majority were nought but half seen shadows with glinting emerald eyes from their visors and lenses. But the Sigillite marched on along the so called Giants Road which as he now remembered sirred by the harrowing like scenes about him; was laid over the bones of the Hangmans foes just as many hung from the passing trees.

It began to rain and while an umbrella of empyreal energy kept him dry the coldness still soaked into his ancient bones. He'd time to properly look at the figures about him now...not Astates but standing just as tall, humans encased in powered armour systems reminiscent of those he thought he'd never see again....designs echoing Old Night itself. It filled him with a hopeful nostalgia but also fear, this place was a time capsule to a forgotten....a forbidden past.

The rain only grew heavier as he drew closer to the neon lit meeting site, a small fort from the feudal era embedded with modern infrastructure and neon lights making it a beckon in the dark. There at the door waited Lieren but no smile was upon his face only a neutral expression and a set jaw. The Golden eyes were burning into him and while he didn't feel the Tyrantsbane probing his mind he knew Lieren was reading him like a book. He would have done the same but as he drew closer still a number fo figures cloaked in red were brought forward bound in ropes of the finest silk.

Finally the Sigillite stopped before the Second Son whom maintained all etiquette and kneeled. “Honoured Grand Uncle, you are here to collect these most brazen of Thieves?” he said without raising his head.

“I am-” Malcador took the surprise in his stride “-and to discuss the divergence of imperial equipment doctrine among your deployed forces, Rise Lieren my friend.”

The Primarch stood as bid and for a few moments nothing moved....Malcador felt something proding his mind, it was not Lieren though, it was human? Familiar...colder and ancient and he felt something he'd not do so in centuries? The simmering anger of a mother.

Lieren smiled finally but Malcador felt something predatory, “My honoured wife awaits within”

Malcador could not hide this shock, “What?!”

He was escorted in as the Panther King laughed.

I like the idea of Lieren haunting the mechanicum, Malcador and so on with his tampering. Combining Aeldari designs, Archeotech and anything else he can. The concept of him being viewed as a looming threat is fun. Making specialist gear fore our sons and forces giving a slight nod to aspect warrior things and so on.. Lieren he whom don't jsut walk a fine line he damned well moonwalks on it.

>>
The flurry of blows to your head would be enough to fell even the most stubborn amongst beast and men, and judging from the force could easily reduce the skull of an Aeldari to a powdery paste. Why, there's enough strength behind these punches to cave in the temples of some of the Wicked and Evil spirits and devils and reduce the skulls underneath into a substance resembling rough gravel. But, your head is as tough as your brothers, so it endures like the anvil of a forge, thoughts scrambled and interrupted by the constant barrage of direct strikes and pummeling blows slamming your head and punching it to the ground. There's a ringing in your ears, and your vision is interrupted with flashes of light, white and red. The sound of your helmet being pounded and slammed is reminiscent of a style of monastery bell you repurposed for use in Shangralas numerous academies, both of academic and martial subject and focus.

Blinking, you find Angron has managed to deactivate the mechanical and technical senses of your helmet by repeated application of blunt force. Which is impressive, as you've noted the internal mechanisms and workings of your suit of transforming armor to be well capable of withstanding at least the impact of a few well placed bolter shells. What monstrous strength.

However, what is hard is overcome by what is soft. Overwhelming aggression can be countered with gentleness and a few well placed strikes. Even novice martial artists know that, just as that same gentleness can be overcome by raw power. While there are no openings in your brothers assault, and you can't really dodge while pinned underneath him whilst having your brain rattled by repeated hammer like strikes to your forehead through the now dented and malformed helmet of star-metal, which surely must be twisted into a most unpleasant visage by now. But, you can deflect his next punch, with the back of your hand, and while that creates an opening by forcing his assault to pause for a fraction of a moment, that span of time is all you need to strike back. Letting go of the hand intending to choke you, you press the first two fingers of both your hands tightly together and halfway stand, lifting Angron with your knees. An effort which takes all of your own inhuman strength to accomplish.

With both his hands free, he begins wailing against both sides of your heads as you bow it and focus, centering yourself through the concussive storm of your brother's fierce attack and draw a mental picture of his nervous system and the unseen meridians entangled with it. Like shimmering stars, pressure points and nerve endings glow before your closed eyes. Both of you are now almost standing, supported by the other.
Cont
>>
>>5506476

You begin your own assault, of well place strikes, jabbing and pinching acupoints and nerve endings, interfering with your brother's flow of Qi and nervous and muscular systems, impeding his unconscious control of his bodies movements by sealing away several key tendons and joints, slackening them or locking them in place.

But still he does not relent. And you expected he would not. Your father had built your bodies to be all but indestructible it would seem, and the complexities of primarch physiology would drive even the most steel minded of scientists and physyicans to drooling, wailing madness.

However, you had, along with Kanzeon, studied the blueprints of the primarchs and with her, gained a great deal of knowledge concerning their functions, both scientifically wrought and mystically woven. These initial strikes were just to test if the Night crane style could fundamentally work on a body like your own.

Swaying back, feeling the effects of having your head pounded like a drum, your raise up your hands, holding out only two fingers and allow Angron to think he has the upper hand, so he'll charge in. He does. And with eight pokes along his right arm, you seal away his control of it, forcing it to go limp and hang at his side. Angron pauses, eyes widening as confusion overwhelms his battle frenzy and boyish excitement

You would be lying if you claimed at a later date, that the high heel kick you deliver to his chin did not bring you any satisfaction. For in truth in brought you a great deal of satisfaction!

Balancing on the heel of your other leg, you stand like a night crane, leg lifted threateningly and both your hands formed into "Beaks", held above your head, nearly straight up

"HAHAHA! YOU LOOK RIDICULOUS !" Anahita guffaws as Angron staggers back, waving his functioning arm at his side in a vain attempt to balance himself "Can you even see through that helmet anymore?

Angron spat out a wad of blood, cracked the knuckles of the hand he could still control and...the energies in the air shifted. The winds of the empyrean changed course, subtly. White, see through hands formed, unseen by all except you, woven together from countless strings of Mental and spiritual energy.

"Spirit's touch" You voice growled and whirred through the wrecked speaker of your helmet, which you were trying to repair to working order through subconscious thought programs

"Don't complain, brother, you taught me this. Don't know what you did to my arm, but...anything to win a fight" Angron said, smiling mirthfully under his half helmet

You maintained your defensive stance, leg still raised as you tried to anticipate his next move. Would he send a spinning axe from outside your field of view? Launch his gladius? Grab hold of you with Spirit's touch directly, or even use it to propel himself or strengthen his blows by multiplying the force behind them with telekinesis?

Combining the concept we have chosen with the mad and wily moves of the monkey Lieren will exploit " Spirit's touch" not to move Angron or weapon but ourselve! When we make a right step we move left sliding along the floor! When we jump for a kick gravity takes no hold and we remain in the air for another strike! Somnium Temple
The Officio Assassinorum is famed naturally for producing the most deadly lone killers in the Emperors realm from marksmen to shape shifters, from Beserkers to deft poisoners. But none of them have the quite so insidious or bare the shadow of Long Night quite like the assassins of the Somnium Temple. The Brainchild of the Second Son; Lieren these assassins are more than a scalpel, they are a micro laser. An instrument so fine and lethal, so unethically efficient and brutal only by the command of the Emperor of Sigillite themselves can one be deployed.

They are a temple of Dream invaders, memory thieves and subtle manipulation, they kill their targets with the hands of another. They do not take free will from their targets or pawns, they bend it, twist it to their purpose one could call them a foil to the Culexus in many ways. Recruits are taken from the psyker populations of untold worlds and quietly sifted through for viability for these assassins are alone in the fact they are given upon augmentation the 'machinalobi' an artificial lobe extension which altars their own thought patterns to be more like that of the projects progenitor: mechanical, efficient, creative and above all Loyal to the Emperor.

Their skills are trained to first become unnoticeable, moving beyond perception if needs be, then the act of Astral Projection where they may whisper and shape the dreams of their targets like directors of film or theatre to push emotional buttons or inject ideas. As they grow the range of their abilities expands and expands until they are able to act from a notable distance from their victims. Thus many a target may well find themselves suddenly overthrown or betray by their own kin, maybe they simply begin to forget key details and make a mistake resulting in death? Misshapes and quiet deaths abound! An assassin is long gone their work lasting beyond their single move. Sleeper agents remaining should the assassins have need of them once more. They are oft refereed to by many as the most insidious weapon created for their roles for what sanctity remains when ones own mind, when your own memories and ideals, dreams and hopes are but clay.

1/2
>>
>>5508859
These assassins are augmented totally internally to avoid detection, aside from the 'machinalobi' they are fitted with a number of other augments. An internal skin graft called the 'Notatacutis' which wards them utterly from the denizens of the great enemy their own bodies becoming a soul sanctuary and finally the “Verumor' which is for lack of a better word... a self destruct device which breaks their bodies down upon a cellular level upon death, triggered by a lack of ordered activity within the machinalobi. All of this is for a secret hidden purpose; the temple itself is also but a mask... the Somnium Temple watch and remove those whom come to know the Great Enemy.

Lieren was quoted upon the founding as stating: “Father I pray you need never use these my shadows. For to save the souls of the Imperium....I feel like I have damned mine own.”

---
Ive grown to enjoy the idea that slowly the Emperor is going to push Lieren more and more. The ever dependable son, but it will begin to slowly cause a crack which could result in whom knows, secrets were ever the Lord of Lightnings downfall and piling so much upon his son might well cost him.

Oooh, I really like this
>>
>tfw your normally reserved and only occasionally dramatic brother lights himself on fire
>He then starts laughing like madman before jumping around erratically
I can only imagine how baffled Angron is about to be.
>>
Lowering your leg, you smiled mischievously, like a jackal or perhaps a monkey. Flicking your nose, you clapped your hands together, creating a gust of wind that flattened the sand surrounding you, leaving eleven circles of raised sand waving out from your feet as you gave a hoot and loud howler, before pulling your hands apart and throwing your arms to the side as your mischevious smile turned gleeful and mirthful, overflowing with joy and excitment

"I taught you the basics of Shangralan Psykerism. Yes!" you exclaim with a cackling, high pitched laugh as you extend your will and force it upon the world surrounding you in a sphere, imposing it and the emotion swelling in your heart upon reality briefly, as reality itself trembles and flickers upon the unleashing of your willpower to allow it to dye the very fabric of realspace around you. The sand shudders, Anahita groans in discomfort and Angron, for the first time in this bout, hesitates and takes a warry step backwards, shifting his aggressive stance to a defensive one, surrounding himself in an invisible shield of mental energy. Joy bleeds from your heart and pours out of your smile, as festival paints and makeup cover your face and hands, making you seem like a colorful perform or painted fool. A golden smile is drawn over your already face wide grin, and your eyes are framed half green and half red as various designs of geometric and floral nature are etched onto your skin via ghostly light. Your armor becomes strikingly colored and vividly painted, with laughing faces peering out from its glimmering, polished surface and a golden band wraps around your forehead, concealing your brand.

Angron takes another step back, as the sphere of altered existence expands and the world becomes that of a painting, and both you and he become characters drawn upon its canvas, dripping with bright hues and rich tones. As if the two of you have been drawn into the world of puppetry or roadside theaters. Angron, is, of course, caught entirely off guard and flat footed upon witnessing your most dramatic technique, as flowers of all colors sprout from the sand and visible, azure and plum winds blow, swirl and dance around the both of you as the unrelenting storm of joy and brotherly affection erupts from where you stand, fireworks and disembodied laughter rising into the air as you beckon Angron to charge you with a quick gesture of your hand, before you begin jumping and hopping between your feet, overjoyed to be so privileged as to partake in this brotherly bonding with him.

Angron, blinks several times, trying to clear what he thinks is an illusion from his eyes. But when the joyous painted world persists, he sighs through his nose, grey tongues and brushes of air curling from his nostrils as he bows his head and does the only thing he can think to do in the face of such a bizarre display.

He throws himself forward, speeding himself up like a rocket with a great push of his spirit's touch.
Cont
>>
>>5508955

You throw your arms forward, and begin to slide forward across the sandy floor , as if you were skating on ice or had hidden a anti gravital engine with the soles of your shows. Angron throws a punch, backed up by all of his psionic might. You kick, high, and launch yourself over the bore drill shaped out of his spiritual essence. He pivots around, and finds himself spinning like a top as you twist yourself around mid air and create a twister of gale winds. Now upside down, still grinning like a maniac, you throw a punch and fling yourself down at Angron. He throws his hands up, and like water you slide around the barrier of telekinetic energy he erected above himself. He is laughing now to, in disbelief of your playful antics. Lashing out with Spirit's touch, you spin yourself around once again, righting yourself and performing the most excessive and unbelieveable form of the carps dance yet performed, landing and gliding on your heel. Grabbing onto Angron's shoulder, both of you spin around as you wrap yourself around him and leap into the air.

Laughter echoes through the air, as the dream world you forced upon reality shatters and comes to an end, right as you lift Angron high into the sky and twist around. Now both of you are plummeting towards the metal flooring of the arena. But as you fall, you exchange a flurry of blows, neither of your bothering to block, defend or parry as you unleash as many strikes upon eachother as is physically possible. You shift between Fog Panther, Century tortoise and Night crane style in that order for times, while Angron grapples, gouges at your eyes and and tries to pin your flying fists and feet with the brutally efficient style of wrestling he was taught in the coliseum he was raised in.

Both of you were laughing like mad men, and prevent the inevitable conclusion of your decent and the cruel judgement of gravity from coming to fruition through excessive use of spirit's touch. Fists meet face, feet meet chest, and arms wrap around your torso. Angron is grinning just as cheerfully as yourself, despite the nasty bruise on his cheek and his bloody nose. But you simply lift your arms, slip through his crushing hug, and slip like a carp swimming up stream around his back, and lock his arms by crossing your own under them and across his chest

Kicking off your own spirit's touch, you flip both of you around, upside down and with a flat palm of psionic energy, slam both yourself and Angron straight to the ground.

All of the sand in the arena is thrown into the air. A crater is formed in Anahita's metallic flesh as a resounding, melodic ringing echoes through her body

"Holy shit!" Anahita cheers "That was ridiculous! I've never seen anyone fight like that before! What a show! What a show! It didn't seem real! And uh, never pull that shit inside me again Lieren! It gave me one hell of a migraine, whatever it was you just did to the fabric of the material universe"
Cont
>>
>>5508956

You leap to your feet and out of the crater you made by planting your brother's head and shoulders through at least a foot of star metal. Brushing off your chest and sleeves, you admire your handiwork.

"Ouch" Angron says dully, as the star metal liquifies around his neck and releases him. He's covered in blood, but still chuckling, white teeth peering through the blood streaking down from the cut on his brow "That was...exciting and utterly confusing. Not sure what you did, but that was fun. And baffling. I've had fever dreams that made more sense than that. No wonder you and Magnus treat me like a novice in this Psykerist business, Damn, that was certainly an...enlightening experience. Think you broke my neck"

"Might've hurt it. But it'd take quite a bit more force to break a primarch's neck" You say, bowing dramatically, throwing your arm over your chest as your armor gains a cloak just so it can dramatically lift and flow upon an nonexistent breeze behind you "Shall we continue?"

"I concede, I might have a thick head, but I know when I'm bested" Angron said, sounding quiet winded "And I've gotten a good measure of your strength and ability. I thought those "Martial arts" of yours were pointless and overly elegant to be anyway effective, but, I've been proven wrong. What the hell did you do anyways"

"It is a technique only I thus far have been able to perform" You say with a wink "We'll call it a draw then, brother?"

"A draw? You planted me like a tree!" Angron shouted, angrily as Anahita marched down into the Arena

"Humble as ever, eh?' she said with a grin, as she patted your shoulder "Come on Angry Ron. Now that you two have had your fun, lets get to designing your new armaments"

Sins of the Father pt1:
-----
It had come at last, the final gambit was soon to be played. The Emperor sat across from Malcador deep within the Imperial Palace, the silence was broken seldomly by the foundation shaking from devastating weaponry and brutal combat but mere kilometers away. The air was heavy the Custodes that stood guard could never know the fear of defeat, but even they knew the of how dire the hour had become. Malcador spoke first "Ironic this disgusting swill should be our parting cordial" the liquor known as Dragon's Spit swirled in his ornate chalice. The Emperor's stoic facade broke for but a moment as he chuckled "That it is, especially seeing as how fond of the drink you have become." All that could be asked in this scenario was to briefly alleviate the dread those around The Emperor felt. The truth of the matter was that both of their deaths were almost certain, but the nebulous chance of the final victory was more then could be passed upon. The whole situation was unconscionable, betrayal was inevitable He had foreseen it. But this? None could have imagined the deterioration of His vision for mankind. None Could fathom that The Second, the one thought most steadfast and resilient to the perversions of the warp could ever possibly fall. The Eldar that were once his allies had attempted intervention, now they were nothing but corpses drifting through the void or dangling from their necks on the traitors vehicles and vessels. Constantine entered the chamber "My lord, it is time." What good mood there was had drained, now there was only grim determination. The Emperor laid a hand upon Malcador's shoulder "Thank you, for everything, my friend." then He rose "For mankind, there is no price to great, fiend" The Emperor nodded and made for the teleportarium with his custodians.

The thing that had once been Lieren was drawing the emperor into a trap, this much was certain the humanity that once made him different had been seared away. Now it was a cold thing that only sought the most efficient way to remove chaos from the galaxy. The Emperor took with him only the strongest and most loyal of his forces with him, Snguinius, Dorn, both of their sons, His own custodians, and a number of imperial armymen that had survived the worst of the fighting during the whole of the siege. There was no doubt in his mind that most would never set foot upon Terra again, never to see the outcome of their ultimate sacrifice. Death had surrounded The Emperor since his youth, clawing at the wall of destiny and His will to claim him finally. It's presence had never moved Him, they were not He though. The level of eradication they had laid witness to at the hands of His own progeny, a being that carried a portion of His essence. It weighed on The Emperor, how could He have allowed this to happen? He banisged the thoughts of self doubt and what if from His mind, they would only cause hesitation now.

All knew only war and harbored naught but hate, all except for one. A singular son of the second, long having scored the symbol of his legion from his armor wielding only a two handed chainsword. The Emperor could see through the mask His grandchild wore, and could only perceive an unending well of despair. Hopefully this could set his self hatered to rest, but The Emperor knew all too well that this notion was nothing more then a childish hope. He cleared His throat as thunder clears silence, all looked to The Emperor now "Make ready, our final victory is at hand. All of your valor and martial skill has made me proud, persist one last time into the heart of darkness with me. So we may break the back of this siege!" In unison they called "For The Emperor!"

Their entrance to the now twisted shell of Kanezon had been frantic. The strike force was scattered through out the labyrinthine ship only a handful of His custodians stood by His side now, and the howls of braying madmen began to echo through the shifting corridors. They had become foul twisted things, an unholy union of man, machine, crustacean, life, and death. Any color they may have bore now mono tonal. His golden host reacted instantly, cutting their suffering slavering forms down as He strode forth. As he did the hollow voice of what was Lieren buzzed through growing vox mouths on the organic metal walls. "Welcome Father, how are you enjoying your visiit to my humble abode?" The Emperor bade him no response and continued onward. The hordes of cultists were reduced to clouds of gore and limbs as the golden host advanced, The Emperor projecting a bubble of His on restrained psychic might ahead of and behind the party keeping the never born at bay. Progress slowed as the son's of the second started to file into the halls, where once they sought harmony in their actions and their equipment now it fused to them in painful and contradictory ways. Systems meant to extend life rigged onto the armor now pumped poison that would destroy molecular bonds. The Emperor raised His sword in anticipation, the golden host and the astartes crashed into each other. Custodians still more then able to defeat the lesser astartes, but numbers dictated that this would slip away as casualties mounted "Father, my sons and I are nearing the bridge. Do you read?" No... "MAKE FOR THE BRIDGE" at His bellow the host redoubled there slaughter as they broke into a sprint. Numerous attempts to stop Sanguinius from going alone were made and all had failed. No doubt Lieren was interfering with the noosphere to torment The Emperor more. The halls now began growing golden eyes that played images of the boarding force fighting desperately across the dead ships decks. The mouths and the voice returned "Look at them father, all of this death and destruction has been wrought by your hand." Still The Emperor did not speak, then the images shifted to events that had only one witness now.

Pathetic effort servant of the many formed liar. I would never betray my sons of my darling Kanzeon. Should I ever turn against my creator and most august father it will be because he sought to take everything from me and claim it as his own. I like my borther's Curze and Sanguineous know how I will die. I will die for my beliefs rather than betray a single one of my sons. I will die returning humanity to the golden age it once had or I will die knowing I did everything in my power to accomplish that goal and try again in my next life. The Journey never ends.

They showed the moment of every betrayal that The Emperor had carried out in his long life. Be they of allies of convenience or those who knew The Emperor at when He was closest to His humanity. "My eyes have been opened father, they now see all that has been. All that falls under my gaze, all that True or false, is now revealed to me. But what is most disappointing father, is that where e're mine eyes do turn all they behold is hypocrisy." His son continued to ramble as He pushed forward cutting down all the filth that tried to intercede in His path. Suddenly the voice chuckled "It appears my guest has arrived, I'll be seeing you soon then father." the halls began to shift crushing a custodian in front of The Emperor, He focused his psyonic might into a spear and thrust it ahead of their path burnning away the corrupted flesh metal. The veil had thinned considerably, He was close. The Emperor could only hope He was in time to save Sangiunius.

The doors to the bridge now bore little signs of having ever been styled like the lotus the second son championed. Now it looked like a sickly dying thing. "Bar any entrance." He looked the few remaining of His golden host in their eyes "You all have done me proud, thank you" They bowed to Him in sync, except for Valdor. "My Lord I must insist that you allow atleast myself to accompany you." The Emperor smiled and shook His head "You still have a role to play Constantine, now please my friend. Follow my wish." Valdor's helm was aimed at the floor. The Emperor stepped forward and leveled His blade at the door and plunged it straight in to the door, the metal retreated like a wounded animal. What greeted His sight was pure anarchy, the entire bridge was consumed in brutal combat. Sons of the second and ninth locked in blood fueled frenzies, never born dueling with revenants of fire and wraiths of ice. Then at the center of it all was His ninth and second sons locked in fierce battle. Sanguinius was on the brink of death, fatigued and bloody from months of grueling combat. What was once Lieren stood pompous barely moving to dodge his brother's strikes. It was then He spoke "ENOUGH." all combat ceased, the marines looked on in awe, the burning revenants knelt, the neverborn chittered and backed away in fear of the anathema. Even the son Primarchs broke from their duel. "Take him from here." with the the revenants of the fallen appered between the primarchs and the fighting across the bridge began with renewed vigor. The wraiths lent their aid and began to pull Sanguinius into a rift back to the Palace. "Father no! You must not face him alone!" The Emperor strode forth to meet Lieren in combat "Father please! Do not deny me my destiny!" the words were barely audible above Sangiunius' choked sobbings. The Emperor spoke for the last time to His son "Go now my son, and let this not be the death of hope." with the final words he was pulled through the closing rift.

One of the best scenes from the new lore is when Horus pursues the Emperor through time and the chaos four manifest as his traveling companions. It does a great job of illustrating how the chaos four appear to a non worshipper. Yes for as corrupted and insane Horus was at the end he still was not a worshipper merely deluded and raised up. I wonder how Lieren's views on chaos as whole will change overtime. I believe he views them currently as the physically and spiritually corrupt nobles he interacted with in his youth. Perhaps in time chaos will change its tactics to better corrupt our philosophy by focusing on more of its positive aspects that so far they have been neglecting in favor or more direct and extreme measures.
>>
>>5511233
What I took from this is somehow chaos found a way in. My theory is pulled a Mortarion or a Sanguinius on us and we gave in to save our legion. In the event this happens I say we have a contingency plan in place.

I left some hints as to what I think would drive Lieren to fall, but what you are saying I think would be very possible in this quest. To quote the blood raven of dark crusade "And do you care so much for yours [soldiers] alien? Are you that weak?"
>>
People are quick to hail Sanginius as the greatest of all the primarchs but they often forget he was only one step away from pulling a Magnus. If it was not for one of his sons literally throwing himself into the fire he would have taken Fulgrim's spot as Slanesh's favorite.>>5511253

>>5511264
>he would have taken Fulgrim's spot as Slanesh's favorite.

lolno. Sanginius was always Khorne's first pick, even over Angron.
>>
I still prefer the idea that we keep doing what we have been doing and amassing more and more lore on the warp until we know even more about it than the inquisition or Word Bearers. I'm a fan of The Great Beast theory of chaos where everyone chaos god is one aspect of a greater beast aka the primordial annihilator/god of chaos undivided. I think it would be pretty cool that at some point our knowledge of lore reaching critical mass and we just understand how the universe works and in so doing we lose the last threads that tie us to our mortal shell. >>5511253

>Tristimor Protocol
Malcador and the Emperor look over the latest delivery from Lieren hidden among a general shipment of resources, it seemed Lieren had taken to his role as the Imperial Quartermaster with his characteristic zeal for improvement and optimisation. Long ago the pair had decided to make use not only of Lierens naturally inbred talents but also those of his adopted upbringing; after all whom would suspect the Quartermaster as being the one whom controlled, deployed and managed an Imperium spanning spy network?

“This one was marked for the Imperial Households eyes alone” Spoke Valdor handing the Emperor a keycard and a wrapped piece of parchment.

The Master of Mandkind slowly knelt and with a quick scan the large container opened with a hiss as preservative coolant leaking as it unsealed. The Emperor read the note quietly eyes widening only a fragment but enough for his companions to notice, he pushed the box shut once more relocking it.

“What is it?” Malcador asked with concern slipping into his voice.

The Emperor turned to the First of the ten thousand “Valdor see the logs are redacted or adjusted as suitable to the guidelines provided by this letter then destroy it, let no one see this parchment under any situation not evne if they resemble myself or the Sigillite. We are never to speak of this container again once it is delivered to the Vaults”

The confused Sigillite rose and followed his oldest friend away as Valdor left to carry out his own task, “What was it? What has Lieren sent to warrant this?”

Only once the two were within their sealed study did the Master of Mankind reveal the truth.

“Within that container was an collection of twenty sealed folders of parchment and wards, what Lieren called the Tristimor Protocol...old friend Lieren ever thinking forward proves himself once more...”

“and that is?” the Sigillite was feeling a touch impatient but when the Emperor knelt to whisper in his ear he understood.

“How to not simply kill but utterly undo each of his brothers, scenario to rapidly if not instantaneously eliminate each Legion....and if needs be himself and his own.”

Malcadors old eyes closed in deep thought, ever the dependable son indeed.

They're definitely out of character and probably not feasible with the way Malal and the threads have evolved.

My take would be that Malal finds his way in through the other desperate Chaos gods overplaying their hand. Say like a Nurglite plague that devastates systems, Lieren and team scorch and burn everything affected even at the cost of the surviving humans to reduce further contamination.
Cue RAGE and SORROW that morph into wrath and malice at the Imperium bureacracy incompetence that allowed the situation and at Chaos that caused it. Lieren goes on the warpath and finds anti-warp tech like the Cadia pylons, locking down systems from warp intrusion but uses his own gateways to get around. As the systems are now isolated, he makes his own empire like Guiliman as self-sufficient & efficient as he can.
Basically turns the people into soulless husks because of the warp disconnection, like a biological necron in a highly efficient technologically advanced society creating the dystopic empire where hopes and dreams are dead.
Doing so achieves the Emperor's dreams of disconnecting humanity from the warp, but he says what is done, smirks and remarks that finally humanity is safe here.

Sol system will come soon Father

Malcador had remained on terra, sat upon the Golden Throne even as it seared his flesh and bones, this betrayal had been so sudden, so brutal...but so efficient...so cold. He felt a tear roll down his leathered face, worst of all it could work.

Lieren was cleaving reality and unreality asunder not with an axe but a surgeons scalpel, he was preserving the souls of the galaxy while dividing them from the bodies. But these souls could not be cast adrift oh no, they would be caught swirling from the net towards a chosen focal point, the Eye of Terror where they would be used as fuel for a great work. The Chaos gods would be cut off from their food supply and in one fell motion all those chosen at the focal point would be empowered beyond imagining before they to were divided from their bodies.

The souls of mankind would be merged into the Primarch faux souls and do battle with the Gods of Chaos...they would win and then...they would sink into the warp. The Warp for the fist time in aeons would know silence, slowly calming. Lieren would destroy Chaos but what of mankind he wondered as he himself burnt out.

The Secondborn sat upon his throne of blackstone sobbing, tears of moonlight falling from his face as from his seat he listened to all the pain he'd caused a twisted sense of nobility forcing him to listen. He knew that this was the end of an Epoch.

“I misjudged you Godling” came a regal voice as Szarekh emerged from the shadows “I was not sure you bore the will for such a auspicious design. But here you weep upon the eve of total victory?”

Lieren wiped his tears and rose, walking to a balcony and looking over Shangrala and its' mist strewn wonder. “I know what must be done Old King but I still weep for the old world even as it makes way for the new. All is in place.”.

“I will sit with you then architect of a new age even as the rubble of the old buries you, know this. A future brighter than any imaginable will follow in your wake...I wish you would be able to see it.”

Lieren wanted to reply but shuddered as he felt his soul pulled from his body forever becoming two beings, the soul wished the body luck leading the new Men of Jade born from this, the Body felt its tears dry.

The Jade King's eyes opened once more, the Golden fire gone, the gentle moonlight but a memory. He looked to his companions, Necron, Aeldari, Kindred of Voltan. All had heeded his call and aided in the great design. A new Galaxy had been born, a new time of only logic, reason and truth. No more gods nor divinities, no more falsehoods nor needed ignorance.

Before him Shangrala looked ever as it did but something was different? The twinkling dew, the morning mist and rolling fields seemed just a little duller, he wanted to shed a tear? he found he could not.

Cupping your fist as you bow, you tell your brother and Sister in law "Well, with the exhibition duel conclude, I must take my leave. My friends have traveled far from their home, upon queer and unknown roads, and I would see to these dear companions of mine, repaying their loyalty with care. I am sure they all possess sturdy enough wills to be unaffected by their journey from there to here, but still, it would be prudent to make sure they are well in both spirit and body and alleviate any of their concerns or misunderstandings that may have sprung up in the fertile soils of their open minds. And even if there are no such concerns or misconceptions taking root in my countrymen's minds or hearts, I would be remis if I would miss the opportunity to introduce them to their new comrades and teach them of their culture and ways. I am certain many of the devout journeymen amongst them are already studying and cataloging the culture of your freed men, brother"

"Yeah yeah" Angron says, rubbing the top of his head and wincing "You do that, always a good idea to make sure your soldiers are hale and hearty. I'll have to ask them of their battles with you, myself, when I have time free for such casual curiosity. It was...fun, fighting you, Lieren. I won't lose our next bout"

"I'll hold you to that promise" You say with a coy smirk as you turn on your heel and begin to shuffle out of the arena, still feeling a ringing sensation between your ears and a soreness all over. Your brother once chained was a truly fierce opponent, only surpassed by the most monstrous of foes you have encountered on your wanderings beneath mist and fog.

"Well! When you see you lil bro again, he'll be bedecked in the finest armaments and protection I can manufacture. I'll make Kazzy's gifts to you look like cardboard and paper costumes!" Anahita boasted with a boisterous, belly shaking laugh, her hands curled into fists and planted on her hips. Your smirk grew into a grin, and your heart fluttered, filled with the joy of familial bonding and kinship. Though, you had stated your intentions to check in on your fellow Shangralans, and had intended to, after you were certain they were well and not in anyway shaken from their journey or arrival to another world, join the tactical talks between Angron's men and the generals of Long-jia, perhaps acting as a translator between the two parties, a sudden though stopped you were you stood, foot still raised midstep.

"Father should hear of what I am doing, and the condition of another of his way ward sons" You muse, pursing your lips as you look at the moving reliefs Anahita has carved onto the walls of her corridors, depicting a cartoonish version of your battle against Angron, forsaking her usual blocky, geometric designs. Why, there wasn't even a single cog tooth in the moving scenes carved into the star metal hull.

"Hey!" Her voice rumbles through the ship "Just because that is my aesthetic, doesn't mean you need to point it out, scholar boy!"

Chuckling, you shake your head, stuffing your hands into the sleeves of your robes and leave her body, stepping out a door that forms in the end of the hallway, that leads atop her outer hull. Then, taking a step off the edge, you plummet back to the earth, smiling adoringly as you spot Kanzeon's true self gracing the morning sky of Nuceria, like a bejeweled temple in the heavens.

Cloudwalking through the low hanging clouds, you find, on the walls of the canyon in which Angron's army and the Shangralan volunteers have made camp within spitting distance of the site of the High-Riders first true defeat at your brothers hands, a ledge that would be perfect for meditation. Just large enough for you to sit upon, with a long dead bush clinging to its edges, its roots reaching into the air in a desperate, failed search for moisture of any kind.

Sitting down, crossing your legs and adopting a proper lotus position of meditation, you quite your mind and empty it entirely, turning it to a field of white nothingness. Then, slowly, almost ceremonially placing your hand exactly between your twin hearts, you allow your now unweighted and unbound mind to lift from your mortal vessel as you send your spirit into the realm of spirits and open your eyes onto the canyon's mirror image in the Empyrean.

Bewinged warp predators, of the same sort you chased from the canyon the Aeldari raiders had made their last stand within, stood, watching like Hook Ravens and Night Cranes, looking down at the mortal souls beneath their perches. They scattered, leaving behind pearl white feathers as you stepped off the ledge and onto a road of polished gold and brass. The scent of blood hanged heavily in the air. In the distances, you could see a minor scrap between the forces of Kong Nue and the cowardly Hei'an Fu, titanic war machines embattled against legions of red skinned wretches, with hooked chains for hair and scorpion tails. Snorting, you turned away, as a chill winter breeze washed down the valley, telling you a third army joined the fray in the north. Walking upon the sanctified trail, you travel vast distances of space in an instant by focusing on your father's radiant soul upon Terra.

In but seven steps, you stand before the gates to his astral sanctuary, far removed from your own body upon Nuceria. Clapping your hands thrice and bowing twice, you approach a gong that materializes from the ground of intertwined machinery and mortuary stones. Pulling your fist back, your ring it four times, punching it in its absolute center. Waves of force issue forth from it, altering the spiritual landscape around you and eradicate the lesser Empirical vermin that lurked in the shadowy nooks formed in the hill of wires and graves.

"Lieren?" You fathers voice echoes from beyond his mental citadel "What a surprise, a welcome one to be sure. You have approached me at a most opportune time, in one of the rare moments of relaxation allowed to me. So, whilst my armies celebrate their latest victory, I would be most delighted to chat with you, my beloved son. I hope you, similarly, have been met with success in your ventures, no matter how small?"

"Hmm, I have thought Malcador would be the one to answer. How rare for a man as great as you to find time enough to relax in his own company" You say respectfully, falling to one knee "As you are no doubt by now surely aware, with the assistance of my sons and their attached forces, after the butcher king's reign came to a justified and sudden end and with their continued aid, I have preemptively ended similar threats before they could arise. So yes, I have seen great success in even the greatest of my ventures"

"I had no doubt you'd overcome that upstart. Even on your lonesome" Your father says simply, as he appears at your side, his astral avatar bedecked in traditional Shangralan attire, though you can see through it and see he is truly wearing a luxuriously soft robe, glittering with mock flakes of gold and tied loosely at his waist. It seems he has just come out of a bath of somesort

"Though, the technological capabilities of that dastard and his forces, as well as their chaotic allegiance still must be investigated, as shall the other factions who bore such an allegiances. I shall not speak further of the matter of your scouring of that cancer from your world, for I can see the guilt of the price of your victory still weighs upon you, long after it was paid.. Do not feel responsible for those deaths, my son, they were necessary sacrifices to prevent a far worse fate befalling all whom call your world home" He said softly, concern apparent in his voice and demeanor as he put a hand upon his shoulder "You prevented an atrocity beyond imagining, even if to your sage like eyes, it seemed an unforgiveable waste of men. The valorous and loyal dead were martyred, not wasted."

You nod, thinking back to that final battle against the butcher king, the thrall of the wretched Kong Nue.

"I have ensured their memory and names shall be remembered, for a time at least, for all things do fade, even memories" You said with a heavy sigh "I would tell you of the astartes whom had given themselves to end the threat of the butcher king, father"

The emperor of mankind paused and took in a deep, sorrowful breath.

"Is Dae-Hyun amongst their number?' he asked, voice nigh trembling "You did not mention him, when you last spoke to your uncle, Malcador"

"He still leads my space marines. I am honored to have fought beside him in the final battle" You state proudly, lifting your head "As I am to have fought amongst all of my gene-sons"

"Good. his expertise and experience shall surely benefit your legion and the armies fielded by the natives of your adoptive world" Your father said, turning away and wiping a crystal like tear from his eyes "But let us not speak of such grim tidings now, my son. You've come here for a reason, and I know you are not one to seek my council for mere trifles. What troubles you, Lieren"

"I've come to report to you, but not of the losses sustained to my legion or people, or my further exploits on ensuring the cancer of chaos worship is purged from my homeworld" You say, walking beside your father as you meander through an illusionary field of cherry blossoms

"Then of what?" He asked pointedly, as he lifted up his hand to catch a singular petal.

"Of my success in freeing my brother Angron and assisting him in his struggle against the tyrants whom had enslaved him, the vicious, vile high riders of Nuceria" You say, proud despite yourself

Your father pauses, the air around him becomes cold and heavy. He glances back at you, eyes narrowed

"How?" He asked sharply "exactly have you traveled so far and so suddenly? The invention of you, Magnus and Perturabo, requires an exuberant amount of energy to power even briefly and requires two access points to function properly. If your brother was enslaved, how could he have had the resources or faculties to build such a gateway. So, you must not have traveled through your ingenious creation, but through another method. As far as I am aware, your planet has not yet achieved spaceflight, let alone possess the technology required to span to such an incredibly vast distance. And Magnus, Malcador and I had been keeping a close eye on both of the brothers you had discovered, offering them guidance and council when possible. But, I suppose a man of action such as yourself, couldn't stand idle as his kin suffered. I am just wondering, How, you arrived to assist him in such a timely manner?"

How do you answer your father's question, Lieren

>Tell him the truth, that you sought the assistance of the aeldari xenos race, known Colloquially as the eldar and they showed you a path through their webway to him.

>Say you do have a means of interstellar travel, but do not mention the Aeldari or Kanzeon.

>Make up a lie of happenstance, that you had found a way into the webway on your own and stumbled upon another exit near Nuceria after a short time wandering through it

>"That. Is a secret I must keep. Forgive me for my secrecy, father. But I believe the truth would be more damaging than a mystery, in this case. Just know, that he and I will succeed, together. despite the wishes of our most abhorrent enemies"

Kind of this but we know that those are very very few and far between. Most of them have their heads so far up their own asses that everything must revolve around their own self interest and they will doom billions upon billions of human lives if they think it could potentially save one eldar life. Getting their assistance, however, was still worth it since the results speak for themselves.

Is he just wondering ? Of course not, and Lieren knows that. The spy that was sent to Shangrila was sent for a reason. For find proof and confirm.
This will be a very important vote.

Not just because of how Lieren answer, but for what his Father does. Lieren will be on his own road regardless, this will be a change of relationship between them though.

Technically the Kabals aren't a thing yet, Commoragh is ruled by a bunch of cults and noble houses.

This is without a doubt among the biggest moments of our life so we must measure our words cautiously and provide not just words but evidence and proof. I wrote the “Be they...” Speech for the reveal we knew of chaos so hopefully my writing will not fail us and we go two for two.

>Step 1
Take a knee before him and tell him we will speak to him now as both Tool of War and Son.
“My life has been brief but I have become exceptionally aware of much lost in the past father, aside form the Primordial Enemy I know how Humanity once strode the stars, the horrors of AI and other things lurking in Old Night. I have also gathered evidence from external sources which ties back to his question.” [We prove these claims by speaking of Abominable intelligence and mention anything the Ship sisters have mentioned]

>Step 2
Show and narrate our extermination of the Celestial Hunt and how we got the Soul Gem. Explain to him with this as a stepping stone that we are aware of how the Aeldari rose and fell, how it is ironic the birth of one of the four in fact opened the way for the birth of the Imperium. Show the steps of how we reached out and called them to us to return their lost kin and in so doing gaining our Aeldari followers. Now this will be the clutch of it, we step up to the debate floor and argue this point:

“An Old Empire is destroyed from within and a new one rises to fill the void, how does this emerging power handle the old? If they try to exterminate the survivors they will rally and fight with the will of a doomed people? If you try to con them you will earn a bitter force of guerillas to dog you for eternity. No father, you show them a path to redemption and renewal. You yoke them to your chariot and build from what was! Father you no doubt know of the Webway for you knew of Xenos and such. I have used it without need of siege nor break in nor making a lasting enemy! The Youth of the Aeldari have been swayed by my words and their culture is in shambles....the Journey provides them a new way and with it I secured a meeting.”

Show him us Debating and winning a chance with Elrad.

>Step 3
You have by now likely read my beliefs, maybe even picked apart some texts, but you know from all my actions, all my memories I do what I must for the betterment of humanity and am corrupted by nothing! I offer you as a Son; a chance to build something never before seen, I offer you as a tool; a carrot should the stick fail.

1/2
>>
>>5513636
>Final Step
“Now father as amusing as it is having Malcadors spy run around in a confused daze I shall now tell you my final secret. You are not the first being created for a gestalt of souls. I have met another like you in many many ways, a piece of humanities golden age....or pieces. Behold...

Reveal the memory of the Ship Sisters,

“I scoured them of Chaos, a searched every iota of their being for Abominable intelligence. I give you the way I turned a Feudal world into the swiftest growing power hub of humanity bar maybe Terra itself! I offer you the best of the past, while I cut away the dark.

My Father, my Maker, My Emperor I know you hide things from your Sons for oft our own sake but know this, there is no truth I can not face, the Son you designed remains despite his flowered tone. I will do all I can to return your Primarch to your side and build this Imperium of Man even if my bones must lay apart of its foundation!”

We then stay bowed and await our fathers judgement.

Honestly we should tell him that we made a deal with Eldrad to change the fate of Angron so he won't fall to Chaos in exchange for his further assistance, that the ship-sisters were designed as an emergency substitute for AIs, and that Eldar are siding with us because we created a solid defense against Chaos. I think we'll be fine, if anything putting us further in dad's good graces, but that might well bite us in the ass. We become his go to for more shadey operations and such. We become the Blacklist Asset Legion/Primarch. Lorgar does specifically note the emps tested atleast one Primarch to breaking point, the second went to the Monolith. We're far more historically and mentally aware than he planned but he has also seen from everything we are uncorrupted, brutally efficient as by design, anti chaos and completely loyal to humanity.

as someone who loves the Alpha Legion hate saying this but Alpharius is dead and Omegon is the only primarch weaker than Lorgar. Seeing how he reacts to the truth of how we got the Eldars help will hopefully show whether disclosing Kanzeon is wise or not. Especially if Lieren goes into details of what has happened like he did before so he can see Lieren successfully use his charisma on Eldar of all people.

It occured to me, the Emperor didn't mind Guilliman having a space empire nor dorn having the Phalanx. He let Lorgar go for ages and didn't step on the superstition of the Wolves. Frankly us having the ship sisters ain't that big compared to alot of things especially given how we have proved ourselves before.

As for the Aeldari stuff, frankly it's among the lesser things since we are sharing our memories he can directly see we are on task. We've done as we were designed to do exceptionally well

As for xenos as I recall sanctioned ones were permitted in a manner? We've given the Emperor a good point about the Aeldari. They need help and at the moment clutching at straws from the awakening of She who thirsts, he can't deny we're right.

Hell if anything we have just given him something amazing...a way to sting arm the mechanicum

The only thing that might worry the Emperor is he might see to much of himself in us? I will like it so to speak but it may we'll set many on edge.

Non of this stuff could self-replicate endlessly and was not a threat to the Emperror. The Amalgam-of-souls-ship-girl that can be corrupted who can jump in any system and make little machine empires with tech from Dark Age that are only awaiting order to strike - is a threat on the scale that Dorn's Phalanx, Roboute Empire and Lion's Shackled AIs combined are not even worth mentioning. And she is not alone, she have sisters. That threat level almost on the part with Rangdan. With such 'family' Lieren potential power is enough to topple the whole Imperium in 30k if the Emperor suddenly dies. Well, if Lieren could stomach to win the war through attrition, cleanign whole sectors of resources.

"Honored father, you deserve the truth of the matter, even if I have garnered something of a reputation for duplicity and trickery" You explain serenely, striding to his side, one hand pressed between your twin hearts and head dipped into a partial bow, while still allowing you to look your creator directly in his eyes as your own flare between gilded flames and silver polished ice "I did not accomplish such a grand journey on my lonesome, despite my reputation as a far wanderer and conquerer of many a unseen horizon. In truth, I sought the aid of a xenos race, I have no doubt one as long lived and worldly minded as yourself knows of them"

"The Eldar" He answers, before you can supply him with the truth of the matter, his expression souring and growing grave as wrinkles and lines tarnish his fair features, a sign of him suppressing his true thoughts on the matter, holding back the tide of emotions the revelations surging forth from his old world weary heart "I had feared as much"

"as they are colloquially known, though I prefer to address them by their proper epithet, of Aeldari" You explain casually, smirking and lifting your chin to look more evenly into your father's eyes, instead of up into them "I believe your worries to be misplaced, they showed me a path through the webway, that lead to Nuceria's surface"

"They allowed you into the webway?" Your father asked, sounding somewhere between impressed and concerned "That is very much unlike them. What faction did you deal with. I know you would not tolerate the remnants of their empire to live, and I know no ne of their backwards tribes persist upon Shangrala. You met with the council of seers that lead the craftworlds, did you not? I can see how you and they could find common ground, my son, but know that, while you may have been given, undeservedly, a reputation of underhandedness, that is the eldar's sole modus operandi, they persist because they trample all others, breaking every promise made in time, double-dealing and swindling their erstwhile allies. They are a people of betrayers, and unlike you, who has only turned back on his word for the greater good of his people, they do so instinctively, naturally"

Your smirk twitched, and you suppressed your own earnest feelings of offense at the bitter diatribe against what you know to be a noble, if desperate and mistrusting people.

"For your own sake, I hope you have not made any pacts with them. Surely, you could trick those haughty tricksters with ease" Your father says, almost proudly, patting you on the shoulder

"To be given such a rare privilege of being allowed to "Defile" their precious webway with your "Mon-keigh" breath. I dare not think of what they'd ask of or expect of you if you bargained your way into their good graces. They'd bring you naught but ruin my son. I know, despite your circumstances, you try to see the best in all things. But, befriend not the xenos. Though there are many races whom, if circumstances could change, may be friends to humanity, the eldar as they are, are not amongst them. Our duty is the preserve our race's future, and the Aeldari serve the same Austere purpose. Which means our goals are opposed, for a galaxy ruled by a once more ascendant Eldar Empire, is one humanity, nor any other species, could prosper within"

"You speak of a past forsaken by the craftworlds, their great shame and folly that wrought ruin upon their kind and rendered them an endangered species. They tampered with powers they should not have, and in doing so birthed a great glutton that even now behaunts their very souls" You replied pacifyingly, as your father closed his eyes and deeply sighed "I do not blame the wise survivors, who sensed the corruption, for surviving the wretches that terrorized the galaxy to satisfy their own twisted base urges, like the tyrants of the Yan"

"The nature of a thing cannot change. The Aeldari have proven that, time and time again" He says gently "Perhaps, they can find redemption, but they cannot be allowed to prosper, yet the horrors of that long night be born anew"

You did not show it, but you felt triumph in your father's choice of words. He had left a weakness in his armor of contempt and xenophobic spite. The Old night, an age of strife, the Millennium of darkness that swallowed mankind as a whole. The end of the golden age of its dominion over the stars. When, like the Aeldari, humanity was almost consigned to become a memory fading. The Dark age of technology, the birth of Se Nie, that most debased and debaucherous of demons, the rise and fall of the men of iron

Kneeling before him, you bow deeply and close your eyes, humbling yourself before him

"I shall speak to you as both your son, and as your tool for conquest, father" You say solemnly, keeping your head bowed and eyes shut firmly "Though my life has been brief, I have become exceptionally aware of this past you refer to and all that has been forgotten and lost since that time to now. Beyond merely our primordial enemy, the discordant lords and their teeming legions of parasitic filth, I too know how humanity once strode the stars, the equal of the Aeldari's own empire. And I too, know of the horrors of Artificial intelligences, the rebellious and genocidal men of iron who devoured stars and all other things. And I to, know of the forgotten terrors of that dwelled in that long night"

"Then you know why xenos cannot be trusted" He says simply, his voice as cold and hateful as Kanzeons had been, when she first entrusted you with the true history of mankinds fall and of her own birth

"They abandoned us, I know. But none whom committed such treachery yet live, and I have no interest in pursuing generational vendettas near ten millennium in the making" You rebuke sharply

"Do not be so certain of that" Your father vaguely warns "There are creatures near as long lived as I, who would delight in once more twisting their knife in our collective backs"

"then I shall hunt them down and present their heads to you" You answer confidently "And I to, am aware of the brief period when hope swelled and it seemed that humanity would rebuild and heal from the grave wounds dealt to it"

"A brief period indeed" He sighed, almost wistfully "And, I assume then you know"

"Yes, yes, the birth cry of the Maiden of wanton pleasure, I am well aware where the blame lies for that. We've already discussed that matter, haven't we?" You say simply, lowering your head further

"Hmph, I suppose we have, no cause to retread ground even if the topic is apt for this conversation" He admits "As it proves me point of the Eldar worthiness of our trust and friendship. Though, I must wonder, how you know so much of a time so far separated from your own. Is this another gift of the craftworlds? Another poison toad lurking in a bejeweled box?

"I've gathered the evidence myself, from various external sources. Which I'd be happy to share, if you would trust the veracity of my own memories" You offer, rising up to one knee. Your father had crossed his arms, and for a long moment, he considered your offer.

Before, with three words, accepted it without further hesitation "Then show me"

You stand and press two fingers on your brow, directly beneath your brand, and pull them away in a whip like motion as you painted your memories on the landscape, replacing the orchard and golden road the two of you walked with visions of your first encounter with the Aeldari race, as seen through your own eyes.

"This explains how you got their technology. I'm surprised the eldar didn't lure you into the domain to try and avenge this slight against their racial honor" Your father says, crossing one leg over the other as he sits upon a throne he conjured, resting his head against his fist "A just slaughter, if there ever were one, efficient and swift. You wasted no time, moving from one target to the next. And in a matter of days, took down a technologically superior force, with all the contempt they deserved. And while this does bring a smile to my face, Lieren, to see you cutting down scores of alien raiders, it also alleviates my fears, seeing how you managed to trick an innately telepathic race that you were one of their number, without even understanding their language. Remarkable. Every time we meet, you manage to surprise me, my son"

"Giving you cruel satisfaction in the destruction of the host of the stellar hunt, was not my intention. This vision of my past, serves a greater purpose" You spoke as you relived your battle with Cearnarch and your retrieval of the soul stone of Amaethon

"A soul stone? How depraved, to inter the spirit of one of his own kindred upon his split tongue. Disgusting creature" You father disdainfully remarked "I see now, you gave the Aeldari the one thing they would not risk in a sudden yet inevitable betrayal. One of their one. Clever. Is that how you learned of the age of strife?"

"In part. I contacted the spirit in the stone, a farseer by the name of Amaethon, who, no doubt to your great amusement, also mistook me for an Aeldari" You say, finding that you were suddenly grinning proudly soon after your father commended you

"I wonder if they've regressed some what mentally, to be so easily hoodwinked" Your father laughs, deep from within his belly, a laugh that could not be faked. A genuine, loving laugh

"Amaethon, revealed to me the rise and fall of the Aeldari empire, which is how I am so informed of the part they played in setting the stage for the old night. The atrocious lifestyle, abundant with excesses and terminal intemperance and monstrosities boundless, that heralded the creation of "She who thirsts"."

"A most vile of thoughtform parasites" Your father scornful spat

"Quite. Though I find it ironic how her birth throes gave way to the true resurgence of mankind, in the imperium you shall forge beyond old terra's atmosphere" You say, noting a queer glint of pride in your father's eyes. Has he already expanded his dominion beyond the surface of mankind's cradle? Certainly, he seems poised to reveal it or an equivalent deed to you, hoping to cultivate your admiration.

"Continue with your presentation" He said simply, waving his hand "Ah! I see, so you contacted the craftworld of this Amaethon, but I sense this was not where you struck the pact to gain admittance to their cherished webway. In fact it...seems like you asked for nothing! That must've surprised the knife ears fiercely, to meet a mon-keigh more beneficent than they imagine themselves to be, casting scraps and temporary peace to those they deceive into their service. Wait...why are...Son? Did you adopt a pack of Eldar"

"In a way. Somehow a sect of them became aware of the journey" You answer, unable to contain your own pride, which reveals itself in a coy smirk

"No wonder the rods up their rectums seemed stiffer and more unyielding than usual" He chuckled

"I see why you were so defensive of these xenos now, you've proven me wrong, and taught them to be better! Perhaps these converts could prove useful to mankind and facilitate the rehabilitation of the rest of their kind. If all Aeldari forsook their pursuit of perfection of self master or listless debauchery for the more sensible guidelines present in your philosophy, they could co-exist in the imperium to come. Though, knowing the Eldar, they will violently reject this change, seeing as how they exiled their own and left them to whatever fate they'd find, separated from their society. Something very unusual for the fiercely devoted Eldar, who'd burn planets to preserve a single member of their species. Having their beliefs trampled must've upset them, somewhat"

"That is a generous way of putting it" You admit "They consider the Journey, or the eightfold path denounced and turned inwards, as they refer to it, as a corruptive and dangerous element, that seems to always take root in the minds of their youths"

"Before they receive the traditionally implanted Adamantium stick up their ass" Your father stated sarcastically

"Amaethon himself was torn from their infinity circuit, for preaching my teachings" You added sadly

"I'd offer him protection, should he require it" He offered "its not every day an Eldar can see reason and reject the teachings of deception and betrayal so prevalent amongst their kind. Are those Aeldari converts, lead by the farseeress of...Ulthwe? judging from the color of her armor, still present on Shangrala? If they are, I would offer them the same sanction of protection as I have given to Amaethon. Such behavior should be reward, encouraging others to forsake the doomed path of their kin to instead follow Humanity's example"

"Would that not be a treacherous choice? Considering the xenophobia already prevalent amongst our forces?" You question

"I'm sure it would draw suspicion and Ire. But less so than other Xenos, considering their appearance and that they follow a philosophy that has already spread through select factions of our forces" Your father explains, to assuage your concerns "And they will obey my command, if I give it. Though, I shall not extend this offer to every misbegotten xenos race you seek to redeem nor every Aeldari, some wrongs cannot be forgiven. It is just you have shown me that Eldar and Humanity can, in a fashion, cohabitate as it were. These few can preserve their race, where their own culture has failed"

There was a grim finality in his tone, but you could not argue his stance. You knew all to well some things simply could not be allowed to exist, even if you'd endeavor to preserve as much as possible, you knew destruction was at times the only answer to a threat. Like Evil and Wicked spirits, and their followers and the corruption both spread

"An Old Empire is destroyed from within and a new one rises to fill the void, how does this emerging power handle the old?" You question
>>
>>5517545

"If they try to exterminate the survivors they will rally and fight with the will of a doomed people?"

"The Aeldari need no assistance in dooming themselves, they are already a dying breed, of little concern for our galactic conquest and expansion" You father said placatingly "I merely suggest giving refuge to those whom would be wasted on their decline, absorbing them into the imperium, while leaving nature to take its course with the xenos who'd rather exploit humanity, and your kindness to claim the universe for themselves once again"

"If you try to con them you will earn a bitter force of guerillas to dog you for eternity" You remark, shaking your head

"They have already shown hostility to your converts, beyond any I have seen them show to their own kind, to so cruelly cast them to the wilderness and forsake them in all ways" Your father said with a nod "What do you suggest?"

"That you show them a path to redemption and renewal, as I have already done for the few" You quietly advise "Not creating a reserve, a zoo of the few whom have already forsaken their old ways. Rather than culling the lame stallion or leaving the crippled ox to the panthers and jackals, you instead yoke them to your chariot and build from what was!"

He listens intently.

"You know the webway, having it and our custodians on our side, would be a great advantage, greater than even the gold dragon's river!" You exclaim passionately, placing your hands on his shoulders and staring intensely into his eyes "And I have used it, without conning or deceiving its controllers, without threatening or intimidating, without siege or assault. I have no made an eternal enemy of the Aeldari, nor have I been made their pawn nor they mine. The Youth of the Aeldari have been swayed by my words and their culture is in shambles"

"This we agree on, but I believe your book forbids the forceful conversion of others" Your father points out

"I do not intend to wage a war of belief, or push my philosophy down their throats. The Journey naturally appeases to the wise and the desperate in kind. It seeds hope in the desolation of despair. It teaches one the value of virtue and righteousness , shows them how to be better and guides them to forsake their vices! The Aeldari are greatly wise and truly desperate. The paths they hold themselves to, the self mastery and control they encourage, naturally aligns to the tenants of the journey! But the Journey provides them a new way, and your offer to protect those who risk everything to follow it, will give others the courage to do the same! But I refuse to allow them to be kept as pets or as living relics! I believe, as you dare not hope, the Aeldari as a whole can be made friends of humanity! For through the endless journey that some of their number have already joined, I secured the meeting that allowed me to find Angron!"

Your debate with Ulthwe's seers and Eldrad plays around you and Your father's jaw drops

"You out debated Eldrad?" He said, eyes wide with awe and glee in equal measures, and his smile radiated with pride

"That's how you got access to the webway? You made that stubborn old man admit he was wrong and beyond that convinced him to help preserve a life that wasn't Eldar? My son! I cannot say how proud I am of you. I relent as he did. I will trust that you can show the Aeldari how to be...civilized like yourself. Certainly having them as true allies, would be preferable than the alternatives, at least once they have been shown what treachery shall reward them in this new status quo you and I shall build for our two races. It'll be much easier for others to accept them, once they have devoted themselves to a HUMAN ideology. Though, I cannot promise it will be a bloodless effort"

"It wasn't on Shangrala. The Yan murdered my followers for just reading from the book I wrote. I do not doubt some Aeldari will prove as wretched of tyrants" You stated coldly "and you know my views on suffering tyrants to live"

"Of course. They could even be pacified by being allowed to inter those who would oppose this new order into the infinity circuits of their craftworlds. I know you those who follow your example do not fear death, but the Eldar do so greatly, for reasons that are obvious" He states "And I shall not feed chaos to spite the eldar, when we plan on...welcoming into the fold of the imperium, entirely. Though I only agree to do so, because it is for the betterment of mankind"

"I do what I must for the benefit of humanity, you have seen my memories, know from my actions and read my beliefs, you know I cannot be corrupted or turned away from my ambition to bring prosperity to all of mankind" You state formally "as your son, I suggested this course of action, so we may haver a chance to build something never before seen. And as your tool of war, I offer you a carrot should the stick fail"

"I believe we'll have more success in quelling the threat of a resurgent eldar empire by your plan to quietly guide them into following a more reasonable philosophy, which will make it greatly more feasible for them to co-exist, when their words are no longer wind" He stated just as formally, hands clasped behind his back "Once the majority follows the journey, alliances struck with them, will be far less treacherous. Which will, of course, allow us to forge a path to a perpetual ceasefire and eventually an agreement of mutually beneficial union. Congratulations, Lieren, you've convinced me to tolerate the eldar as they are now, until they learn from your wisdom. I shall not pardon them, however, if they repeat the mistakes of old humanity's allies"

"They shall not. Unity is one of the foundations of the journey. When before we were left adrift in the dark or predated by those we called friends, in the future you forge, I doubt that ancient history shall repeat itself" You say with a truly happy smile
Cont

>>5517552

"We can only hope they will not be so arrogant to do so after we...rescue them from themselves" He said grimly "Now, is there anything you'd like to discuss beside plans to replace ancient cultures with better, more humanity friendly successor states?"

"Well, I suppose, as amusing as it is having Malcadors spy run around in a confused daze I shall now tell you my final secret" You say slowly, forcing yourself to speak every word spoken, forcing back your dread as it rises with each syllable that leaves your lips, trepidation and hesitation threatening to halt you at every turn, as your mind is filled with images of Kanzeon and her sister's smiling faces. Mari, Al-uzza, Anahita, Liberty. You bite your tongue and draw blood, and forge your conviction in steal. Lies and secrets are poison amongst family.

"What" He said seems surprised by the revelation of his companions spying, but you do not elaborate

"You are not the only being born from a gestalt of human souls, nor the first I have met" You admit openly, causing him to reel and step back "I have met another like you in many many ways, a piece of humanities' golden age. Or, pieces of it, rather. Behold"

He takes in a sharp breath, as you reveal to him flashes of Kanzeon and her sister ships and their avatars of light and code, and their vessels of cloned flesh and cybernetics. Recognition lights his eyes, and his jaw clenches.

"I scoured them of Chaos, a searched every iota of their being for Abominable intelligence" You explain as he stands frozen in both stance and expression "I give you the way I turned a Feudal world into the swiftest growing power hub of humanity bar maybe Terra itself! offer you the best of the past, while I cut away the dark!"

You bow again, kneeling back down as he looks over the flashing scenes of your memory, not saying a word. So you decide to restate your loyalty to him, to preserve the trust between father and son, and remind him of your trustworthiness and austere duty to ensure the prosperity of mankind across the stars.

"My Father, my Maker, My Emperor I know you hide things from your Sons for oft our own sake but know this, there is no truth I can not face, the Son you designed remains despite his flowered tone!" You declare passionately, voice trembling with fervor before hardening with the resolve of your unshakeable will and unquenchable fire of your convictions "I will do all I can to return your Primarch to your side and build this Imperium of Man even if my bones must lay apart of its foundation!”

remaining bowed, you await his judgement and reaction to this final secret.

"I had long theorized of the possibility of artificial counterparts to myself. Gestalt souls, entities born of the sacrifices of many. I did not realize old humanity had achieved the means to produce them, and if I had known, I'd have never thought they'd create multiple" He states quietly, his tone reserved and stoic
Cont

"Mine is an existence born by choice, shamans, the first psykers of mankind, giving themselves to create a guardian, an eternal custodian of mankind. These vessels, and the intelligence inside them were made with purpose. The abominable intelligences could not be trusted, so they were replaced, with digital entities and souls born from the destruction and force amalgamation of humans souls and psyches. Humanity, in its arrogance, attempted to make gods of their own, and bind them in metal cages. Had we learned nothing of the Necrontyr? Nothing of the Eldar? Such grand hubris, to repeat the mistakes that brought ruin upon a galactic level. I'd be outraged, but, I know you can judge all things and see their truth. And I may be a hypocrite in many ways, but as you know, I to, am made of an admixture of many souls on individual"

He steps forward

"you would not align yourself to anything that called itself or believed it to be a god, let alone trust them so as to hide them from my ire" He states profoundly "Like myself, then, they must recognize themselves humans, or at least feel loyalty to that which they originated from. Because you vouch for them, I shall to, recognize them as part of mankind, for you who has faced down the primordial enemy in open and righteous defiance cannot be so easily fooled and misled. The danger of not doing so, is too great to permit. Though, this will force you and I to keep a further secret...eventually. For now, know I will not turn against these allies you have found, enduring against the old night, and when the time comes, will welcome them to join in our glorious crusade. You've brought to me two assets greater than any we've had before. The chance to vassalize the Aeldari, and a small fleet of Archeotech vessels inhabited by beings friendly and loyal to humanity. You have surpassed even my greatest expectations, before you've even properly joined my imperium. I cannot help but wonder what you and your brothers shall accomplish, as whole, when our family is truly reunited"

And with that, he bids you to stand and walk with him.

"I was curious how you had produced such advance materials, armaments and vehicles, in enough quantity to freely exchange" He chuckled
Cont

"Now I see, you found quite the technological treasure trove, one that shall prove useful in all stages of our galactic conquest. Who knows what xenos empires have sprung into prominence during the age of strife, and the level of technology and inhumane cruelty they may possess. To be able to manufacture the technology of old, will surely be vital in achieving victory over these future threats. If I am remembering correct, those ships were colony spec. Though their defensive armaments far surpass any we could field or construct, their technology would be better used in colonizing worlds otherwise denied to us or repair damaged or degraded bio spheres. And if we can find a way to protect them from the predations and influence of chaos entirely, why we might even be able to..."

"Oh, and I have betrothed myself to one of them. Her name is Kanzeon"

The warp shuddered, and briefly you were drawn into your father's quarters, seeing her had fainted on the couch he had been reclining on, causing no end of panic amongst his aides and servants before he shot up and the empyrean as a whole resonated with a single word

"WHAT!?" He bellows in shock.

What do you do, Lieren?

As much as we'd love to hang around we do have our own stuff to handle, we need to get back home to begin Solar System domination. We actually need our system to be an incredible gem by the time we're found.

>The Wolf of Cthonia
Horus couldn't hide how he felt; Overshadowed. He and his father had Crusaded together for decades now and no matter his triumphs, no matter his victories he was always compared to another. Lieren, Magnus, Perturabo... names he'd hear over and over, feel the efforts of even as they remain distant and now? Now another name to be stacked beside; Russ.

Where did he fit into this grand plan of the Emperor? His father would oft speak of the debates he'd had with Magnus and the more esoteric arts, Perturabo was using some Sub-warp methord to directly send schismatics to Terra itself! Whole new forms of armour were being shaped by a man whom wasn't even in system! Lieren was some enigmatic figure whom would vanish from conversation only to suddenly appear, drop a trove of ancient relics or impossible to obtain information and just like that be mist in the wind once more? He'd heard his father whisper other names to Malcador; Lorgar and Angron.

He was already but one of seven? The three sons his father praised were forming a block of sorts supporting one another, why had they not sought him out?..did they even know he was there? Maybe, just maybe this Russ would be amicable... maybe it was time to form a power block of his own?

>Explain that you and her are kindred spirits and have come to care deeply for another, sharing each other's vision for humanity's future as well as your fears for it. And that the love between the two of you is the same both of you feel for humanity

As much opportunity for comedy there is here, best to clarify now rather then leave big E worrying enough to make a sizable mistake or two since we managed to have quite the effect.

Also looks like the treaty of mars is happening regardless, but maybe the emperor can carve out much larger concessions.

Horus is certainly going to have his work cut out for him to get that dad's favorite son trophy. Hell Lieren might make warmaster assuming he doesn't end up the inquisition primarch.
>>
I'm not sure if Lieren would accept a Warmaster position. He's far more comfortable advising and counseling people about decisions and possibilities unless there's some massive faults with the people involved.

As it stands Lieren would try to be the friendly supportive older brother than the ruling older brother. Some of the Primarchs might take exception to this because they're a prideful bunch.
>>

>>Return to your body on Nuceria, leaving your father baffled and stunned, while you check on Jinhai and the others and strategize with them and Angron's generals

That would be the best prank, imho. Journey approved one.

But I'm also sad. If everything can be reached through understanding and diplomacy then it's not a true Warhammer universe.
>>
>>5518459
Try reaching something with the orks, drukhari or chaos through understanding and diplomacy. Wars will still happen anon.
>>
>>5518459
You think this solves anything????? Just because the Emperor gave us the thumbs up doesn't mean its going to change the fate of the imperium.

It just means we've been given permission to try. It's also a noose on all our necks.Should we lose? Everything we fought for dies and gets REDACTED.
>>
>>5518523
> It's also a noose on all our necks.Should we lose? Everything we fought for dies and gets REDACTED.
The Emperor isn't gonna damnatio memoriae Lieren and co. for something like just failing to persuade the Eldar, Lieren would have to go a lot further than that imo.

Or have I misunderstood what you meant by "lose"?
>>
>>5518532
The thread has been making a whole bunch of Omakes that feature REDACTED Leiren.
They were very convincing what awaits us should the enemy gain the upper hand.

We may not lose any battles, but if the 5 manage to shape the board like they did?
We still get Grimdark 40k.

Granted Malal and Arianka are going to keep fucking around in the background but nothing is certain. Especially not the souls of our Brothers.
>>
I see a few Alternative ways the Horus Heresy could well go.

>The Sundered Imperium
The Emperor does more and more stuff making his sons and general populations wary of him leading to an increasing amount of independence and isolation, in that turmoil and confusion the Arch Traitor jumps the Emperor.

>The Machine War
Mechanicum begin to try to put souls in machines and fall to the chaos gods trying to create more shipfu. Ironicly ending up as a situation similar to our butcher war, but imperium wide.

>Liberation War
Lieren gets taken in by the Emperor for doing something/mucking around as he does or maybe just cos he knows to much and saddly must die. When those closest to him discover their beloved Brother is about to get [redacted] they launch a full rebellion and rescue mission.

>Triumph and Defeat
The Traitors/Chaos slowly sow the seeds among the handful of primarch they can and when Horus or whomever does something great they go for a Triumph upon terra only to launch an attack when least expected.

I) Lion: All depends on upbringing since if he is tempted and corrupted while in the forests becoming the Black Knight so to speak, if his upbringing didn't fuck him a hard loyalist

II) That is us...

III) Fulgrim: This poor bastard is to insecure and prissy to not do the Silver Prince coke

IV) Pert: Variable depending on how the others treat him but I lean towards loyal if grumpy about it

V) Khan: I think he has a chance to fall to the Silver Prince if it provides an escape though he'd regret it if he saw how things would go. The shameful fall and doing drugs to not look back. But he might just go renegade.

VI) Russ: Unlikely to fall however once again Khorne might get a grip though could be quite an arc to have him fallen to Khorne only to redeem himself true beserker style. He is unlikely though and RIP OdinRuss

VII) Dorne: Variable, if we uncovers what chaos kinda is he'll fall trying to understand as mentioned by Malcador

VIII) Curze: All depends on his vision rehab and how he handles his sons. Renegade is possible

IX) Sanguinius: Geneflaw might cause him to Fall in a twist since it was meant to be Magnus doing it but we butterfly fucked things. I hope he don't but he may well and it is our fault ):

X) Ferrus: Loyalist through and through imo

XI) N/a

XII) Angron: Loyalist [to Lieren] could only fall through trickery

XIII) Guilliman: Wouldn't fall willingly but birdbrain might have an in if he tries to be Lieren's rival.

XIV) Morty: He'll flick like a switch

XV) Magnus: Loyalist [to Lieren]

XVI) Horus: Oh yeha he fallin like a stone far to insecure in things

XVII) Lorgar: Variable but learning to the Fall...unless he bums the Aeldari Gods? His upbringing fucks him.

XVIII) Vulkan: Might fall to save his sons cos while caring and perpetual he still is vulnerable...Nurgle?

XIX) Corax: Loyalist I believe but he could go renegade with the Khan if he grows to mistrust the Emperor

XX) Alpharius: Alpharius will do what Alpharius does
>>

Yes plausible all, but dear anon. You have forgotten the emperor's trump card. Solid Hydra being deep cover in Liquid Hydra's Off planet Prometheum refinement rig working to recover the weapon there in that will turn the Heresy in the favor of the loyalists. LIVING METAL GEAR
>>
>>5519109
you mean the stupidly grimderp omakes? Non canonical omakes by people that aren't the qm convinced you the emperor is going to just kill us over nothing?
>>
>>5519109
most omakes are very dark. They are possibilities of how bad things could get from some people, "its not it will go like that, is final". There is less positive ones if you notice.

Has it is IC, Lieren remains completely one of the most hated and annoying mortals, the chaos gods and their demons have seen. The literal bounty carved on his head is a giant symbol for all to see of their still increasing seethe and rage against him. He hasn't act like the others pawns on their table, he has done what he wanted which throws a wrench in their plans.
He is also active in finding their assets for attacking or weakening them directly, or countering chaos plans by thinking on how they might approach and thus develop countermeasures/defenses (sacred geometry, psykerist techniques, proper and fair governments & traditions, very active spy networks, constant monitoring for any activities, the journey it self, applied anti chaos denouncing seals ecc....).
>>
>>5519120
>The Machine War
Oh dear. Even if the Emperor decides not to allow the building of future shipgirls, the Dark Mechanicus will surely end up making Daemonship/Abyssal equivalents.

I DO NOT WANT.

Keep the shipgirls secret from the Mechanicus at all cost..
>>5519178
Lion: Would be an excellent foil to Leiren. Don't see him actively becoming hostile though.

Fulgrim: One path I see is that he seeks perfection through the Eldar Paths . His passions mirror their own. And if we manage to save Isha then she can fix Chemos. He'll become her champion and thus be immune to chaos corruption. The only problem is that.....ELDAR WEEB FULGRIM.Is probably worse.

Pert: Agreed He's save and his problem issues have been tapered off. Will still end up trying to compete against Dorne. Might still fall unless healthy outlets and not given proper role outside warmaking.

Khan: Don't know much about him but thematically he might become the anti-leiren. Watching him closely.

Russ: He's more likely to become Arianka blessed once he sees his men fighting the good fight after death. The Ice motif is just his thing too. Will probably hail her as a spirit of Fenris like he brands everything he likes Ferisian. We already had a spirit encounter with him so we should get along if we ever meet in person. Will still need to convince him that Psykers and Magnus are cool.

Dorne: Might not like Leiren. But our nature and his are both mechanical and efficent. Don't know what to think. Don't think we have to worry about that one.

Cruze: NEED TO FIX VISIONS OR ELSE HE'LL SELF DESTRUCT AGIAIN.. And he already hates Leiren. Crap.

Sanguinius: He's going to be a nightmare to fight if he's turned. Having said that. I have faith in his innate moral strength.

Ferrus:Proabably will get along with Leiren.... Speech patterns and playfulness need to be dropped temporarily until we get on his good side. Need to let him know before hand so he's not surprised when we start talking weird again.

Angron: Practically saved. But also vulnerable because his identity is like clay. Has not tasted fire or true hardship... Potentially dangerous.

Gulliman: Would be interested in trading with us. Would approve an trading relationship between realms. Would more likely befriend Jinhai than us. Would respect our dedication to keeping the fuck away from ruling even if he did not agree with it.

Morty: Even if we allowed him to defeat his father himself. He'd still hate a whole lot of things that we can't change. Practically guaranteed to fall.

Magnus: Might not fall. Flesh Change needs alternate fix though. Don't know how to fix that. Don't think we're specced for it.

Horus: Oh boy. As much as I believe that he was fine until the Imperex and chaos dagger incident. There is no real way to save him.Prior to his fall we might be the only one immune to his charisma because of our eyes.

Would still get along great with him, and things might be good for a while... At least if we allow it to.
>>
>Continued
Lorgar: Will need to be given the secrets of the universe fast.lest he falls to the need to worship the gods. Maybe useful if placed in the capacity to forge new gods... Which the Emperor won't allow. Want to put him into marketing department.Conquering worlds without war. Or the acting department. He'd be great at placing himself into the shoes of a character. Such a feeler. UNDOUBTEDLY DANGEROUS. Need to introduce to atheism.

Vulcan: Agreed but he turned out alright in canon. Will also agree with most of our policies. Hates Eldar.Potential disagreement/conflict point there.

Corax: He's definitely going to love our liberating ways. He's no stranger to warp powers. I see a good potential friendship with him.

Alpharius/Omegon: HAHA WE HAVE SEE THROUGH EYES. YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM US. Seriously though. He's going to have issues with Leiren. So many issues.

Biggest problem is that Leiren will be too stretched thin. He can't save everyone.

I am so excited to move to that phase of the game.
>>
>>5519352
Even if Lieren is stretched thin, chaos have to deal with him being an active enemy and positive presence. Advance comms and relations can change the frequency of social interactions too, the emperor/malcador sending their spies and advisors also allow to keep things under tabs. In comparison to canon, this is 100% better, were chaos instead has free game and plans while the primarchs need to resist on their own while waging wars across the stars. Especially when the emperor decides is just time for study and research (he should have kept a diverse schedule of work, he is an head of state).
Certain legions becoming more bizzare or cruel, would be reported more easily too same goes for Primarchs (say Fulgrim picking the alien sword that is not exactly subtle in being evil in aspect or energy).
>>
>>5519385
There's also the fact the emperor will have to sequester his self less since the human webway is less needed.

What with the plan to absorb the eldar into the imperium.
>>
>>5519352
Lorgar's biggest issue is he refuses to take responsibility. That's the source of all of his faggotry.
>>
>>5520057
He will if his god demands that he do it.
Heck the Emperor just needs to play along and Lorgar probably would have turned out somewhat alright.

Package it like "the Path to enlightenment" and watch him dote on his god's words as he works tirelessly to follow and understand them...

And instead of thwacking him for being stupid a "Special Penance to purify one's self of sin" needs to be undertaken. Place penalties on not following it to the letter.

All he really wants is to feel special and acknowledged. Just needs to be handled correctly.
>>
>>5520255
He can be Redacted ;') Us and Russ can bond over it
>>
So lads where do you think Alpharius is? Slipped in among our Sons to spy or still acting as deep cover on Terra with the Emperor?

Given his power i got thinking, we'd be able to ID him from his soul and even with his unique ability to hide himself that in this particular case wouldn't help, he'd leave a hole where he went so to speak, footprints but no walker. His stealth would actually draw us to him and without the stealth he'd be ID'd on the spot.

Truly the only way to counter Lieren is just sheer overwhelming power and straight up being upfront but unavoidable
>>
>A New Direction
Perturabo basked in a feeling that was oft fleeting to him; satisfaction. When Lieren had said he'd found a challenge for him he'd scoffed not to offend his enigmatic brother but rather in a cold and bitter disappointment... the jest of a man bereft of fulfilment.

But here he was hardly a solar season later enjoying just one of many such moments for whom would have thought the Hammer of Olympia would find something even more suited to his talents, to the benefit of his legion? The Panther had spoken true when he'd told him to look to combat among the stars not as a linesman but as a pilot, a commander..no... as an Admiral!

The Iron Fifth had adapted more than adequately tot heir role, ship boarders and breachers, masters of extraterrestrial combat! They had both Father and Sons been transformed once freed of planar bonds. Now they were the Iron Vanguard those whom broke through to worlds and systems, whom were seeped in glory and admiration. Peturabo would never admit it but he adored the challenge of the extra dimensional warfare, the calculations, anticipation, the chance to not simply tear down but to shape, build and improve!

Already he had begun world on designing his magnum opus; Acropolis Neo. A collossal space station orbiting the world of his birth but capable of transportation. It was not something old reclaimed like Dorn's Phalanx this was something new, something his... something more.

He thought to thank Lieren for starting him on this trail but he knew the Second Son wouldn't need one and for that he himself gave thanks for.
>>
>>5520255
>He will if his god demands that he do it.
Wrong.
That's what Monarchia was all about. The Emperor shoved Lorgar's hypocrisy in his face, reminding him he was not doing his will and forcing him to take responsibility for it. Lorgar is an egoistical piece of shit that desparately needs someone else to take the blame for his fuck ups. The problem with Lorgar was never that he was religious but rather that he was delusional and a narcissistic personality leading to a complete lack of personal responsibility. God for him is just an excuse and a reason to be special.
>>
>>5520802
Ah in that case... We might need to design an Izanami Equivalent... Or we can go the easy way and simply set him up to rebel early so he can be dealt with. Plotting with Malcador will be a good exercise. Russ will hate this however.

Emperor did say we were too much like him.

You know a full grown elephant can be restrained with some common rope tied twice around it's legs?

An adult elephant, if it exerted it's strength upon it, would snap the rope with ease.
But if that adult had been bound and restrained in the ropes as a child, and done so frequently and long enough that it accepted that the ropes were unbreakable, then no matter how unpleasant the ropes are, it won't try to break them in adulthood. for in it's mind, they are unbreakable, so why bother trying?

So too is it with Lorgar.

FINALLY I catch up with the Quest after started reading it in June of the last year or so. Goddamn, what a fucking ride, I really like your shit Malal
>>
Keeping a calm and collected expression and a cool head, you smirked and offered your father a humble bow with cupped hands, lowering your head to hide the smirk on your lips as you, serenely, began to explain the reasons for your shocking relationship to your aghast and stunned father.

"Is it so unusual, for kindred spirits to flock together as cranes of the same color? For them to gather as carp do? To find...nay, instinctively seek one another out, so their days may be filled with the happiness of the companionship of those who see the world from if not from the same than from a similar perspective as they themselves do?" You ask soothingly, not wishing to draw your father's ire or scorn "And is it, then, so shocking that these cranes of same feather and view, would come to in time care deeply for one another, first as friends, than deeper yet as mutual understanding and admiration grew between them as they flew, roosted and sang together?"

"That..." He begins before biting his tongue, furrowing his brow as if in pain, and reeling back with as he massaged his temple with two of his fingers "Lieren, my son. I lived many lifetimes as an ordinary man, I do not need to have attraction and romance explained to me. You of all people should know from where my confusion comes and why I am caught off guard by this...revelation"

"Then you should understand, as I too know I am no different from ordinary man. Despite how I was designed and my obvious differences. She and I, are human, as much as you are. Love is one of the most powerful emotions humanity can share with itself. She and I, are possessed by powerful passions and must contend with those potent emotions and whims of the heart" You continue, not giving your father a chance to gain an inch in the argument you can sense will erupt if you do not swiftly assure him that your bond and relationship with Kanzeon will in no way threaten his plans or your loyalty to them "As you to, surely must. But, our bond did not begin with such base impulses as desire or yearning, for flesh or companionship or romance"

"I don't follow. You speak of love, then refute it as the cause and denounce the biological urgings that many mistake for love" Your father says, his expression softening as your words spurn the scholarly minded parts of him to curiosity "Explain further, my son"

"She and I, share a powerful love, a love as deep as the seas and vast as the skies. But it is not the bond of lovers, of friends, of family. It is pure, and truer. A love that transcends the powerful emotions that fuel it, the passion that rages in both our hearts like a blaze. A love that we share not only with each other but for humanity" You say fervently, with a joyous look in your eyes and shameless smile on your face "We love each other, as we both love all of mankind. We discovered this mutual, selfless love and were wise enough to see it for what it was, instead of mistaking it for lesser forms of attraction or admiration"
>>
>>5524733

"You love her, as you love mankind" Your father says slowly, musing on the idea "and she loves you, as she loves mankind. Which is stronger, for both of you, I can't help but ponder"

"Equal" you answer without hesitation "We were both made for the benefit of mankind. To usher in an age of prosperity, to guide and protect it against the shadows in the dark. She is not the only one, whom I extend this love to on a personal level, nor is she the only one whom I reciprocate it with"

"Yet, you have taken her as a bride" You father points out sternly

"And I have given just as much of myself to the others. She and I have sworn to remain at the other's side until the day of our death. Others have sworn the same. But, their lifespans are shorter than my own. Kanzeon and I, though I do not know precisely how long you intend me to live, honored father, will share many more years in eachother's company than the vast majority of my other beloved companions" You explain to rebuke his unspoken argument of favoritism "And as you well should know, I dislike putting on airs and prefer to act with utmost efficiency. Deluding ourselves or presenting ourselves as anything but two halves of the same whole, would be pointless. So, we chose to be wed. And the only difference there will be, is that what was already apparent shall be recognized officially. Since Kanzeon and I already planned to give ourselves to the other completely, as we have for mankind, why not declare it and be husband and wife? Nothing would change if we did called off the engagement, for we already do not part from the other's company, except for the most dire of circumstances"

"Like saving your brother from enslavement" Your father guessed immediately " But, this wedding, is merely ceremonial is it not?. You do not intend to"

"Reproduce?" You ask with a raised eyebrow "There is little need. I desire her company, I do not lust after her, despite recognizing her great beauty. She is the same, she covets me, not the warmth of my flesh. As I explained, we love one another as we love humanity. Beside, we already have raised quiet the flock of children together and I am not so nearsighted as to fret or care at all over physical legacy. She and I share a dream for humanity and we share our fears for its future. That is enough"

"I wouldn't be against it" Your father said "I know you wouldn't seek to replace humanity with your own descendants, even if such a thing were possible. I was not commanding you to be chaste. I haven't been, at least, in my prior lifetimes. I was simply inquiring"

"Just making certain you weren't going to be name grandfather?" You ask coyly "And testing if my words rung true, about the exact nature of Kanzeon and mine's bond"

"I have been before" He said sadly "though that legacy become not but dust. Though now that the conversation has turned in this direction, I cannot help but wonder if such a coupling would even be possible. Surely not naturally"
Cont
>>
>>5524736

"Of course not. I've seen the blueprints of my creations" You say with a nod

"Perhaps symbolically" He says pridefully, with lifted chest "In the same manner as your planned marriage. I would not deny two cranes from such joys, after they have graced the world to be shadowed by their wings. Forgive me if I seemed...offended or angered earlier, I am prone to suspicion even at the best of time. Had to remind myself of the world of truth you see, and that you, of all my sons, are the least likely to fall victim to a conflict of loyalties"

"She, I, and you all share the same goal. Humanity's future" You agree, nodding your head "As do her surviving sister ships"

"Of course. Now I cannot help but think a child born between the scion of the future and creation of the past could prove beneficial to morale and legitimacy" Your father teased, placing a hand on your shoulder and returning your smile "I jest of course, I jest. But, I do not joke when I say I am filled with pride to see how greatly you've overcome the handicap I put upon you in my arrogance"

"And I'd have you know I do not blame you for putting it in place to begin with. You regretted it and wished for me to become as I am now" You say kindly, putting a hand on his shoulder

"And you've gone further than I imagined, finding yourself a bride of the most curious kind" He chuckled, shaking his head "You truly desire to be no different from any other man"

"I do not desire, I am" You say confidently

"And that is why I give my blessing for to you and Kanzeon" he said proudly, wiping a tear from his eye "One of my greatest fears would be that...oh well, I do not need to darken the mood with such talk"

The fear he speaks of, is the fear that his sons would hold humanity in contempt or look down upon them as their lessers. One of the reasons he had, upon your birth, stunted your emotions. Or at least, that is one of the theories you have for that particular adjustment to your psyche. One which you overcame by choice.

"Tell your bride to be, I trust her" your father says with a nod, in a jovial mood now "And will ensure her safety, and she has my permission to join our family in time. I would like a proper ceremony, of course"

"You're sounding like my other father now" You say "But I am relieved you understand why she and I"

"It is only natural" he says with a shrug "I may be a hypocrite, but I'd be a fool to think such a thing is a threat to my imperium. I trust you Lieren, even if your actions sometimes baffle me as much as they impress me. I have much to discuss with Malcador, you may take your leave"

We're lucky that the others didn't get corrupted, and the amount of work to do, of materials and energy would be greatly consumed if he tries to make one of them, and surely there was a reason that they made Kazzeon and co in pairs, because surely just creating one at the time would bring psychological problems.

If Emps will still try and go on with the plan of making more, then he should really look inside and question hes own methods. Because if he just create one Vessel like that with a new soul like Kazzeon and Co, and give it to the Mechanicus then we're getting our own Patriot from The Boys, with 100 times fucking worse.

Because of Liberty, we know they start as kids, and if they go down into the zealot thinking of The Imperium of Man, with just a bunch of zealot Mechanicus freaks and surely some kind of psychological manipulation and mental conditioning from Astartes and such, he's going to shot half his leg of because of it. Either he makes two ships and send them to Shangrala so Kazzeon and their sisters educate them, or he surely need to bring some actual effort into educating and AoT War Vessel so it doesn't turn out like a maniac or corrupted by Chaos
>>
>>5524759
In my opinion Ego death is still a type of death. And we know atleast part of her soul survived, since it was together with the butcher, so it was probably more complex than just resetting her personality while doing an exorcism.
>>
Also, I've been thinking this shit from a long time, and even if Malal is using only the old lore, I keep believe that Lieren and the Journey could have been easily the reason way The Tau came to be.

Just imaging that from the Storm in that planet, Lieren just came into it with his Astral form, fight his way into the planned, entered the minds of those Xenos and started to been some type of incorporeal Commander and spiritual leader to educate all of the Tau in that planet and improvised with all the natural resources in the planet to make the Tau technology.

We have the Asian vibes, the high technology, a mission for the greater good (except for some kind of mental manipulation that I think I read in one/tg/ thread) and the Mechas.

In regard to that spy we could ask them to just give him another task really. Like it's job was kind of pointless/fruitless on Shangrila. If he wants he can join our forces, or maybe join the Qian house and serve Jinhai.
Really there is a lot of work to do, and we wouldn't mind even if he just wants to settle down and start a family. Long Jia (ex Yan) had plenty of losses in the wars, more kids are welcome.

>"Though now that the conversation has turned in this direction, I cannot help but wonder if such a coupling would even be possible. Surely not naturally"
>"Of course not. I've seen the blueprints of my creations" You say with a nod
So Primarchs are sterile? An interesting fact, I wonder if it was on purpose or accidental. I don't see the point in removing that capability so I'd wager that it was a bug in the development of their biology that Big E didn't care to fix since, in his mind, it's effect was benign.

I also find it curious that Lieren doesn't see any issue with calling Kanzeon his "wife" and her calling him "husband" in turn while they both remain steadfastly celibate, as if doing otherwise would demean their relationship. What is the purpose of a marriage if not the creation and joint raising of offspring? The way he describes it, they sound more like friends than anything.
>>
>>5525202
I'm certain that it's a feature not a bug just like how the space marines can't have children. he wants humanity to rule the galaxy not space marines or demi-humans.
>>
>>5525226
If it WAS a feature, wouldn't they be castrated instead of sterile? Look like a ken doll instead of shooting blanks? Why leave the equipment if it won't serve it's intended purpose?
>>
>>5525230
because it's unnecessary. why remove their equipment if they can't use it. also it still has uses outside of reproduction like eliminating waste and are important for hormonal reasons (especially testosterone). Eunuchs' have very low testosterone which would affect the growth and strength of the Primarchs and space marines.
>>
>>5525202
Marriage, in the culture of Shangrala, is the closest that they have for symbolic union. It's similar to the spiritual underpinnings of christian marriage, being of the same soul and being.

If they had a different institution which was "soul mates" but without the kid rearing connotation, they would probably use that in caring for accuracy.
Or maybe they wouldn't, as they joke frequently, they have 300 tiger kids and Lieren has thousands of sons to raise.
>>
>>5525233
I meant genetically castrated, why not move the important bits that you want to keep to the inside of the body and cut out any unnecessary parts?

>>5525238
Then why not call each other soul mates and their relation ship a soul bond then? Much better than husband and wife and a marriage. And if they already have so many "children", why not actually make one or two?
>>
>>5525242
Because we deal in ACTUAL souls Anon. Causes too much confusion.

Also, They do. Repeatedly and frequently refer to eachother as part of the same soul, in spite of what I just said.

Anyway, you pointed it out in your own post that they are sterile. You also are aware that they don't have any capacity of lust for one another that would lead to children and lastly the term Marriage has all the required cultural context and impact for the people he usually deals with, and especially anyone on shangrala, which soul mate doesn't.
>>
>>5525242
because it's more work than necessary for literally no gain.

personally I would like it if Lieren and Kanzeon had children.
>>
>>5525256
> Also, They do. Repeatedly and frequently refer to eachother as part of the same soul, in spite of what I just said.
Yeah, I know. I meant always using them instead of husband, wife and marriage.

> Anyway, you pointed it out in your own post that they are sterile.
Yes, I meant it as hypothetical though maybe I interpreted one of your jokes too literally.

> You also are aware that they don't have any capacity of lust for one another that would lead to children.
Lust is not necessary for procreation, ask any rape baby. Dark humour aside, I haven't seen anything that would suggest that it is impossible for either of them to feel lust. Maybe for Lieren it is since he is especially... peculiar in his ways. Kazzy seems like she could feel it just fine.

> lastly the term Marriage has all the required cultural context and impact for the people he usually deals with, and especially anyone on shangrala, which soul mate doesn't.
And yet Lieren finds himself constantly needing to elaborate on how different his marriage is and how it's not actually a marriage, does he not? What's the point of a term if you constantly have to explain it's meaning in every conversation you use it in?

>>5525260
hmmm, maybe so. Also, so would I.
>>
>>5525276
>Always using it instead of husband and wife
Not gonna happen chief. It takes Lieren dealing with perty to make his verbose speech cut short, and even then he struggles.

>A hypothetical
A very good Hypothetical at that. Lieren trying to fuck a human would be a modern man trying to fuck a monkey. it might, possibly, work and produce a child but that child will be a malformed mutation abomination. Like a Zee-horse, or a mule.
Anyway, Functionally there isn't a human alive who can handle Lieren in bed without paying a near fatal price so it may as well be the truth.

>Rape baby joke
Lust still on one side there. The winning side, in fact.

>Not Impossible to feel lust
Correct. Kazzy can probably feel it just fine, she can feel jealous and possessive already. And Lieren it is theoratically possible but his disgust and disdain for the concept will prevent him embracing the emotion. Which will lead to a lack of it.

>He constantly explains how his marriage is different
Ah, no. He constantly explains how his LOVE is different than normal. And often elaborates on various kinds of love he possesses and champions. He says they are married and has no need to elaborate on how their marriage differs.

Though, being very frank, if Lieren [the chronic purple prose man] wanted to be short and brief, he'd just say "we share agape love" which is what the sort he shares with his close companions is called. Endless and conditionless love and understanding. Pure if you will.
But being from Long Jia, formerly Yan, he will never be concise.
>>
>>5525290
You misunderstood me multiple times but I can't be bothered to correct you. Point is: Husband, Wife and Marriage are shit terms to use for describing what Lieren and Kazzy got going on and if the both of them were determined enough then life would find a way, so to speak.
>>
>>5525304
That's fair enough. I can only say it's not intentional.

Lieren did produce a distinction between foe/enemy, so you can push for another linguistic drift.
>>
>>5525290
>But being from Long Jia, formerly Yan, he will never be concise.
The entire reason he uses such flowery language in the first place was specifically to insult Gao and Ling. He was pretty straightforward before that.
>>5525304
>>5525310
I'd call them life partners or soul mates.
>>5524965
>>5524930

Rephrasing that little addition to the write in but some background on the two that fell as well as the great lengths Lieren and company will have to go through to make sure Liberty turns out right should at least allow the emperor to make a more informed decision.

I am not against Big E having more kids and think it would certainly make things very interesting especially with the mechanicus but they need to be treated like his children and really only he and maybe Malcador can make sure they turn out alright and don't accidentally cause some catastrophe because they are kilometers long void ships and children equally.

Two sons stood before their Father heads bowed and jaws clenched for their Father had just given them a task so monstrous, so will trying that to ask any others would be folly. Yet the fact it had to be these two made the deed asked be committed so cruel...Fratricide. The Emperor knew the burden, Malcador knew the risk in asking. The Master of Mankind measured the reactions of his Sons... no... his Primarch for this was not a time for emotion. This was a time for action swift, efficient and decisive.

"Lieren, you will go before you brother first and see if he is truly lost to us. Leman you shall act accordingly, if Lieren gives the signal scour the planet leaving no trace of what occurred there." The Lightning Lord commanded and to his pride both sons simply nodded their head and rose as one marching to their vessels without so much as a word... none were needed. Leman was always born to be his executioner but Lieren? He was his Witchfinder. The pair played the role of elder brothers well and so it fell to them to see their Father's will done regarding their younger.

---

Russ looked over to his Brother as they strode down the halls, he could tell Lieren was mad for those tell tale wisps of inky black were escaping his nostrils and the edges of his grim set mouth. It was a shame they'd have to meet like this after so long, their last meeting having been upon the field of battle! Ah and what a glorious one it had being the Panther having earned the Wolf's respect by shedding blood together...alas now they would do so again but now not in glory, but shame. Their newest brother had been found innocent to his greater purpose in the Galaxy but he'd been tainted, corrupted by some foul alien hexcraft... his form was warped not like that of the Red Giant or even that of Lieren's adopted children... it was something worse, grotesque and while visually there was nothing overt the King of the Russ felt his gut churn when watching him from orbit.

He and Lieren were in now in the elevator to the command bridge, the Wolves providing the manpower for this soon to be Cull for he didn't doubt if his nose could smell the stench of the Black Arts then Lieren's eyes would damn the man before he even made planet fall.

1/2
>>
>>5525695
---

Lieren stood to the left of Russ and a pace back as they entered the command bridge of the 'Howling Winter', their mission was a sacrilegious one but one of the upmost importance for while Leman knew their brother was warped in a manner Lieren knew the truth and that was why he was here; Chaos. His dear Eleventh brother had embraced the Primordial Enemy not for power at first but over the decades had become a beast, a religious zealot to the Four True Winds... he'd used the word Innocent of things in a report to the Sigillite, but that didn't absolve nor grant righteousness.

His brother had to die, all memory of him erased and traces of the True Enemy expunged. The Purged Brother's sons would be dispersed and never know the truth, a sad lie but one of necessity at this juncture.

He weaped tears of light silently and Russ simply patted his shoulder before giving the order to depart.

Man... That's probably what turns Leiren. The no mercy, no redemption for the innocent mindset.
>>
Lieren was not one to shirk from a challenge nor was he (despite the efforts of his Brothers and Father) immune to resisting one when presented with it. Thus the Second son now found himself in a situation he's report would struggle to make believable, a rogue signal here, a teleport mishap there... more than a few Xeno Contact doctrines broken had brought him into a colossal chamber of black stone, carved silver and green light while all around this room were clearly...exhibits? Figures, relics, strange beasts and weapons all held in peaceful Stasis.

Slowly Lieren wandered the room taking time to inspect each piece waiting for what was obvious, his hosts arrival and it did not to to long. A shrouded figure stepped out the shadows on the opposite side of the relic he was currently admiring....a teapot.

“Ah, a Fragment of an Older time...a grander one. Stepping past weapons, beings, moments and all simply to look upon this...you surly have a collectors eye”. The figures cloak rolled back revealing a skeletal form which seemed almost at odds with how expressive this Xenos tone was but even this machine thing seemed capable of emotion, Lieren saw it if only a hint of change to the deathmask.

“Ancient beyond measure-” Lieren began to pace about the artefact his host keeping pace so they remained upon either side. “-if my studies from a world far from here are accurate; Necrontyr?”

1/2
>>
>>5526992
His host stopped pacing and sharply turned to look into those burning eyes of gold without so much as a flinch... but then looked away saddly “...yes.” the jovial tone was gone now one speaking of loss, a home which is all only memory.

“You collect these things, people... why? To preserve memory and record the march of time?”

“Oh time doesn't so much march as it flows dear Primarch-” the proud mannerisms were back. “-my kind long left time and its embrace, the clutches of death and so on, now what is there but to catalogue, collect, admire and preserve...till the end.”

Lieren thought a moment knowing he was talking to something ancient, powerful and at this moment he was in its lair.

“With such a perspective my honoured host one surly knows that all things fade. Do not mourn forever or you may well never look to the future?”

“Ah you are the philosopher I head so much about and from what I have gathered quite a collector yourself... I heard of a sword you keep, one you plucked from a most repulsive hand but then purified? Might I see it?”

Lieren's hand briefly tightened around the Blade of Love's hilt but he relaxed it and with a sigh drew the blade presenting it to this age old scholar.

“Exquisite, so elegant and simple yet...oh the story it holds. Proof in of itself the Lords of Damnation are not the final word.” He returned the blade.

Now walking side by side they walked through the collection pausing at another stand this one containing an Aeldari figure.

“Mmmn yes, this one you might have some insight into a Troupe Leader of a Harlequin group liberated before she was overwhelmed by her more...degenerate kin.” A mechnical laugh escaped the figures nigh unmoving mouth and Lieren found himself having a chuckle alongside him.

“Tell me my Host-”

“Please call my Trazyn dear Primarch of the Chimera”.

Lieren gave a polite bow, “Then please accept my thanks for the tour and I ask you do me the honour of calling me Lieren”

The Necron gave the briefest hint of a bow.

“Tell me Trazyn your collection is surly more vast than this and you have brought me here for a purpose? Your interest in my sword is clear, I assume you seek to acquire it?”

“I suppose I did lay it on a little thick didn't I? Yes, I do what do you want for it?”

Lieren looked about the room before beginning to walk Trazyn in step beside him,

“Well as a fellow collector I am willing to hand it to you in exchange for information?”

“Regarding dear scholar.”

“Ymga” Lieren said simply stopping his steps as the ancient machine xeno walked to face him and offered a hand.

“Deal”

They shook and both figures smiled in their own ways.

“I think we're going to get along quite well” the Silver figure mused aloud.
