You are Kolinaisi Kaiko Wahthiri, Commander of the De'lormosa free fleet, Great Man of De'lormosa, Son of Ravi, Primarch of the Eleventh Legion, breaker of chains and liberator of worlds.

And not quite unifier of De'lormosa. That's what you are working on now.

Unification of De'lormosa.

Which at this point means helping the people of the Emerald Shoals.

By killing old salty. You wish Robute came, but this isn't his place. You pull out the very keen chain axe, and your daggers and tell your sons you can assist. You look over to the old man and motion him to come over and he does.

"I am gonna kill old salty, but I have reservations about killin all the big saltys." You say and he gives you a look of frustration

"I agree. Killin off apex predators is a bad idea. Yeah, save some eggs and I'll reintroduce them somewhere they are more suited for." The Old Man says.

Your honor guard asks if they can join, and you let them come also. Seeing that your 'sons' are going, and it is the biggest of the salty's, they may as well come.

You take one of the 'hoopties' to the area of the sightings.

And it doesn't take you long.

Old Salty, is actually a bit longer than they said, and is so big the swamp doesn't actually hide all of it. The teeth are longer than your daggers, and would probably make an excellent weapon for your sons. Then you see the tail spikes, which are about the size of the people you offered to help. One in the chest would be a problem or fatal for almost anyone.

Seeing this you realize Old Salty may be the most difficult beastie, especially here.

How will you deal with it?

>> Be bait, lead salty around and attack letting your sons and honor guard flank weakening it.

>> Go in over the top, the salty's have a weakness with the strength of their jaw opening muscle being weaker than their jaw closing muscle.

>> Use the swamp and the things size to your advantage, it can't really go too many places so long as it is stuck here.

>> Start at the tail, and confuse it, and maybe disable it's most fatal weapon.

No idea how close Old Salty is to saltwater crocs but getting it out of the water seems a good idea. With that said, real world crocs can sprint fast until they have a heart attack, fortunately Koli is faaaaaaaaaaast

True but we're more maneuverable on land
>>
Old Salty is tricky. Getting him in the water, gonna be painful, maybe fatal, for almost everyone involved.

However, if he is focused somewhere else then he cannot -

Wait it looks like Old Salty is a she.

If She cannot get to the water- then she cannot use ambush tactics and is out of er element. However this means getting to her and keeping her off balance. Crocs are fast. But you are faster.

"I will keep her distracted, and keep her on land. Follow close behind, dodge her tail spikes." You say and the honor guard does the spear slam and Deliah does the bark call to the ready.

This causes a bemused look among the sons of the eleventh, and an actual nervous look from those from pariah island who joined you. Ya can't hide ya smirk because this looks like it's gonna be fun.

If ya don't die.

You run up right over the water, grab a spike from her tail and run up her back. Ya can feel her body starting to respond, ya woke her up. It doesn't take ya long to bonk her on the nostril with her own spike and then make a loud noise at her. Ya have gotten her attention, and managed to piss her off.

She is as fast as she is big, but she aint as fast as ya, because ya actually able to run backwards and still be ahead of her, which while shocking is a bit tricky. Ya keep eye contact with her and your axe out, and swing a few times, and you realize her carapace is tough. She follows you out of the water completely and Deliah leads the honor guard with a quick and quiet bark. Your sons, the pariahs shrugging and lead off as your sons seem to appraise the situation, and move a different way. Looks like they got a good plan. Ya hope.

Old Salty snaps fiercely and shakes the water off. You hit her, and she doesn't like it. The chain axe works when it's on, otherwise it doesn't seem to have the strength to do the job.

Which is a problem when the girls get a few prodding strikes in with their spears instantly angering her and earning her ire.

>> Quick, switch to the daggers- they have the potential to pierce the hide a bit better

>> Distraction, attack her a bit and bait her away, use loud noises and flashy attacks like ya do with an onery murder bird

>> Danger. Jump on her mouth, take two teeth and cause her enough pain to really focus on ya.

>> Make a call to the girls, pull her further into the woods and start using the trees against her.

>> Perform the sword dance, even though ya da aint really showed ya it yet, it would be good for this, but ya better hope ya don't mess it up

One of my heroes and right to the feels. You nabbed the first mystery box available.

-
This gonna be tricky.

But it better work.

You make a loud call to the girls, and the cadence song begins again. You begin pulling her back with flashy attacks towards the woods- the trees here look old.

They need to be.

Old Salty seems to be hesitant, and realizing that the terrain is no longer in her favor, however despite her monstrous length, she really isn't as wide as you would expect something as big as her to be so she can still move, which is as scary as it sounds.

Saltys have a weaker underside.

The answer here is to grapple, and it's gonna be awkward.

Finally you get to a spot in the middle of the swamp that has the right cover for something as big as her. You breath. You make the bark.

You leap around the part of the mouth you can grab from her head, your big, but so is she. The grapple is sloppy and awkard, and every instinct you got is telling you this is risky, but there is only one way to do it. So you finally get around her, and ya muzzle her and begin the stabbing with ya daggers.

And she don't like it one bit.

She begins flailing wildly, if it wasn't for your strength (Which ya need to build more ya oaf, ya da said 'if ya gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough') you'd be dead as Big Boy. The girls are struggling to attack. They seem to be staying true, and not using psykerist powers except to maybe enhance their physique, but this is not goin how ya planned.

Then from above you see Wakatelaho on her neck, chain sword in hand coming down like a meteor.

"You thought you would get to have all the fun?" He says with a chuckle.

Ya smile and this reinvigorates the fight. Ya are able to move Old Salty around, and she aint likin this one bit, but she can't do much about it.

Ya desperately pull her deeper into the woods where there is more and stronger trees as ya sons take advantage.

"Pin er down!" You shout.

And as you help hold her down- you think about earlier.

-- Facilitation --

You think about the ocean that's deep inside you, rising like the tide, lifting your people. You breath a little and ya tats start to glow. Then the most peculiar thing happens. Those with tats around ya, namely ya sons, and ya honor guard (though not as similar) start to glow.

They start to attack faster and stronger.

The girls are movin at speeds ya never seen out of them before. What was once lookin sketchy, considering how big Ol Salty is, is lookin a lot more easy to handle. The girls move quickly, with surgical precision, one on each foot cuttin at em, as the lads up top are striking at key tendons, ones you would have gone for.

As a matter of fact: it's like everyone is attacking how you would have in the same scenario, as if they knew the biology of er like you figured out.

She flails her tail around, but they manage to avoid it, much to Ol' Salt'y displeasure. She aint goin anywhere, sure she can flail, but she aint goin far- which is something considering she massive and is agile as she is.

However, you in your position aint really helpin. You closin her jaw and stabbin and she bleedin through the mouth hard- but ya aint causin anything but pain. Surgically, there is one sure move that will work. It's gonna be risky- but ya gotta work too ya bum. You grit your teeth and with a mighty kick twist and pry with the daggers, ya dislocate her mighty jaw. She lets out an extremely painful to hear and very pained bellow.

She is disabled, and after what has been done, cannot do anything to save er self.

You step away and the glow stops, the fight is over. The girls and the lads seem happy and excited, not exhausted. Ya on the udda hand, the fight took a bit more out of ya- probably. Ol' Salty is massive.

Ya ponder bringin her back to the village alive, and let the greens make themselves whole by killin her. However, they also ask ya to bring the eggs. And ya feel it. Thinking on it, ya feel it.

Ol Salty only cares about her eggs. Ya look at her and nod. Some of the eggs will survive- though where the old man gonna put em, ya don't know. That's probably for the best.

"Is anyone else gonna bring up that all of our tattoos were glowin and not just Koli's?" Meerah says loudly.

"Koli?" Wakatelaho says with an odd laugh and amused voice.

"We've known the Cap longer than ya. Spirits, I've slept in the same bed as him. Yana is his sister and has called him knucklehead and oaf a few times. Deliah has called im worse" Meerah says and your sons look a bit flummoxed.

"Father before we give this beast it's due rest- as it was a worthy fight- we do have a few questions also." The Master Gunnery Sergeant says as the others nod. And you shake your head.

"We are not going to be cruel cause it's easy lads. Ya do things the right way. And together. Come on." You say hopping on top near the skull plate, and ya help everyone up.

"We gonna divide the meat equally among the village, we will make weapons of her teeth and spikes. Armor out of her scales, oils and resins out of her organs and use her bones for bonedust and pigments. Nothin goes to waste. Not even if the greens want it. She is one of the great beasts, she deserves better than a common pest." You say and the girls nod, and your sons look very skeptical but agree. And in a quick motion you all stab on the skull plate where the brain stem is. You check her eyes. The light is gone. She is dead.

"Father- we- I have questions. I studied briefly to be an apothocary, I have no knowledge of this beasts anatomy despite having slain others like it before- yet suddenly I not only felt a rush of strength, adrenelin and other factors- I also knew the precise anatomy of this beast- exactly where on the hind leg to strike on the upper quarter to disable her. I saw everyone here act with precise timing, that while normal for us- as Astartes, not so normal while cooperating with non astartes. Further, we acted as one, with equal speed and strength as if we all knew precisely how to pin down this creature and defeat it at once as if we had been fighting these things all our lives despite not seeing it until today. Additionally- and this is something that has been confusing me since I have met not only the islanders and your honor guard, but you. We Astartes, fill most men and baseline humans with transhuman dread. They see us and it clouds their judgement, I have seen a grown man piss himself in fear and collapse just because two of us ran past him. Here, this reaction- doesn't happen, in fact they are happy to banter with us like we are locals. Around you- I have heard how other Astartes, act around their primarchs. They bow, they act like servile, like a biological trigger of enforced loyalty is implanted." He says and sighs as ya honor guard looks to them and looks to you, and this does seem important. He then nods to his brothers and is if they have their own silent cant he speaks again.

"When I am around you, I feel inspired. I feel like I have great capacity within me like never before. It isn't that I am doing this out of loyalty to you- it's that I want to push boundries and exceed my limits- suddenly I understand. We've stopped titans and conquered worlds, but we felt lost. All of us." Wakatelaho says and he is clearly emotional about this and the others nod, and they are fighting emotion too.

"We've done a lot something other legions wouldn't even dare. The Emperor's own bodyguard call us "The Temerity" because of the absurdly bold actions we have done in campaigns, yet all of us felt like something was missing. With you- nothing is missing. It's like there is an endless sky, and the future of humanity and it's potential is equally glorious and limitless. I- We- we feel with you we can achieve it and we want to show you whats possible. With you I feel like I could show that Custode what Temerity is. With you by our side in battle, I think we can go beyond this galaxy and conquer the whole universe." The Gunnery Sergeant says.

"When that glowing happened, it felt like we were connected- like anything was possible, but how and what was going on?" Pilot Keanu Hika says.

"It didn't effect us. Yet, still around you we feel inspired. Like the universe aint so dark." One of the men from Pariah island says, Meerahs cousin.

You pause on what to say as the old man steps out of literal nowhere without anyone noticing save you. He puts his finger to his lips tellin ya to keep quiet. Yet the blanks turn.

"SPIRITS MAN YA GONNA GIVE US A HEART ATTACK." The biggest of the blank lads says.

"It's not my aim. I knew you wouldn't need my help. I collected some of the eggs, and I will hide them when we get home. Though keepin Erihapti from eatin them is gonna be a whole issue. Ya lucky she went back to the ship to take a nap. And while I don't mind bein called Old Man , I do have a few names you can choose to call me that would also work too ya know." Old Man Martin says.

"Martin. Tell them what you told me. About the facili-" And he nods.

"Kolinaisi here is a psyker, with an exceptionally rare innate talent. And it aint just his manipulation of lightning and electricity." He says

"Oh whats that?" Deliah asks with keen interest.

" Facilitation. Y'all know it from that little training book the old crone wrote as probably a little footnote as Ment"

"He's a Mentor? That big savant oaf over there? Mate he couldn't facilitate a thing it took him a damn month to figure out Meerah over there is in love with his dumb self, and was oblivious to the googoo eyes Gella was given Roubute- he about as dense as the black stone of his island!" Deliah says and each of your sons simultaneously give her a glare that would normally melt a bulkhead.

"Think about it Deliah. How ya'll have been able to conquer impossible odds. How ya seem defiant against forces greater than ya. Hell, ya notice how bein around them blanks aint so bad as long as ya been around im? I even feel more capable near him. The Inspiration. The boost of Spirit. Having the ability to do more. I looked at ya damn ship. There is no way a crew your size should be able to run the Rumi of all fuckin things like that and have it in tip top shape. Though it's name is probably the most appropriate if I ever heard of one. It's Facilitation at it's purist, but it's being filtered through Kolinaisi. That's why it's so odd, and why you couldn't notice despite it staring ya right in the face all the time. I didn't even notice it until we were on Pariah island and I had shimmer on my tattoos and actually connected with the lad and felt as he felt. Did feel like the tide itself was rising when you were fighting this beasty? Did it feel like a great wave ya got ride? That's because of it, that and the fact that Facilitation only works if the facilitator actually has emotional and real connection with those around them." Martin prods in the way a good teacher does- or at least he does when he is trying to get ya to learn. But it dawns on Deliah like the sun. And she runs up and hugs ya. Followed by Meerah. And Yana. And of course Gellah. You wonder briefly about Angron, with his nature how he'd be doin right now.

--

"You are telling me that you will not go to talk to my brother, because of what he said about another brother he found- despite you clearly coming here for him." Angron said, and he was getting a bit angry.

"Correct." The 'Initiate' Magos Bellasarius Cawl stated

"Despite you being able to most likely help my brother, you feel this other may be of more note, and important- even though- as Frank had said- he has another brother with him, on his island- with various technological marvels."

"Also correct."

"And from what you have been telling me, since the battle was ended after your giant Ark Mechanicum ship which blots out the sun for part of the city and the assistance of space warriors called astartes, that I need more help and you will not leave until this Fulgrim arrives since this other legion of warrriors left."

"Yes." And Angron looks upset, but you are not sure why, yet. So far you get along well with Angron, but he does to have some authority issues. That and-

"So if you are here helping me, why is everyone here ransacking every single technological thing that they can find? The whole city is terrified, and it's taking all I can to keep them calm as people who look scarier than the monsters they were facing are asking about archeotech and things they don't even understand." Angron says on the verge of what you can see is a great and terrible anger.
>>
>>5548538
"It's not my call. The mission here in addition to being one of primarch discovery also covers any ancient technological issues discovered. The Edicts of Mars and Terra give Mars equal footing to Terra especially when the matters of technology like on this planet are concerned. We are here to help defend against any other Rangdan or other monsters that may show up and those Skitarii and those with me will, however those above my rank are - that is a strange ship." He breaks off as a ship enters low orbit. You recognize it.

It's part of the free fleet it's a bit big and awkward lookin, still smaller than the fierce, it looks like one of the boxy weird ones Perturabo got.

"Frank! Talk to me!" You hear the sweetest voice you have ever heard in your life from the combead.

"I am here on the ground near the city on the side that isn't blocked out by the shadow of the giant ship."

"We have seen a bigger one actually." Arona says

"Really?"

"Yeah, apparently the old mans ship is bigger than that one right there, it's absurd."

"Does it look less like a cock." You say off handedly and you now notice that both Angron and the Magos are looking at you- though Angron has a smug smirk on his face

"IS it your Lady Friend?" Angron says in a faux childish tone.

"Yeah. It is she is back." You say

"If that's Koli's brother Angron tell him he gives warm greetings, but he aint here."

"Koli gives warm greetings but he isn't on board the ship. Ya'll had to have done a vicious touch and go through some really nasty warp" You say

"Ya, the Navigator wants to kill me. I am gonna land it, is there anything I should know about?"

Make sure Frank & Angron call the martians untrustworthy with Cawl and every other mechanicus possible listening in.
Are we obliged to stop the Mechanicus stripping the city bare? They can take all the weapons, and the torture devices like cybernetics that Nuceria has. But demand the medical life-saving, communications and agricultural tech to stay.

"Ya. I'll walk out with her if you need someone watchin ya back that bad." Arona says in a sweet tone with a hint of a barb.

"Ya braver than I." Tybro, says having snuck up on you, but fortunately you have enough calm to not act scared.

"Why is that?"

"Arona? She's practically Kolinaisi's sister, she's Kai's son and she is as good a fighter as anyone and ya courtin her." He says.

"Ya fraid of her?" You ask and he looks down to you,

"Ya not? These marsy boys- I tracked em a little, they have been scoopin up a lot of the tech here, but haven't touched the stuff The Cap made yet. However, they are acting sketchy around the generator for the shield. Talking about stuff that's way above me and I'd need Pyg and Kolinaisi to explain it to me." Tybro says.

"Tybro, it takes two translators for anything they say. We are honestly lucky, they think this is just a bonus so they aint going to spend to much time here. We can probably slip away before they even -"

"IS THAT A KNIGHT ATRAPOS IN SUCH A CONDITION?!" the Magos Cawl says as Arona casually walks the knight over.

"I think your plan backfired mate." Tybro says putting his huge hand on your back giving a pat.

"Yeah, she's with us. I wasn't exactly feeling respected, listened to, or safe, so I asked my lady friend to take the knight out for a walk." You say and the Magos, for all their machine implants and metal parts is clearly shocked by the statement.

".. That, is a unique position."

"Well just so you don't go knickin everything on our ships or the gifts Kolinaisi left." You say calm as the breeze. Angron smirks at you.

"We are not mere pilferers and raiders. We gathering examples of archeotech that exist on this world that are noteworthy, your primarch friend Angron has also pointed out the activity and it is beyond my control. Granted I find the biology of your friend Tybro more noteworthy of study then some of the trinkets that those in the group are trying to collect." The Magos says

"And I told you, I would crush ya if ya try anything funny with me." Tybro says in a tone that causes angron to have a little laugh.

"It wouldn't be comical, it would be crucial to the advancement of humanity and you wouldn't be ceased of function, furthermore you wouldn't even be transferred to a servitor, I merely want some base genetic material to determine how someone was able to make an Ogryn with a level of intelligence similar to a somewhat intelligent guardsman and their would be no unauthorized searches of any cavities." The Magos says

"Cavity searches? Frank what the spirits did you do while I was gone?" Arona comes up and pecks you on the cheek- which you weren't expecting.
>>

"We had help, Angron is a solid warrior. The siege was also broken by these Martians. Arona, Kai." Tybro says making a nod to both Arona and Kai whom do a quick walk up.

"We are here to rescue ya. And I think our timing couldn't be any better." Kai says with a little smirk

"Another overly large and intelligent human. Interesting." The Magos says.

"This bucket of bolts here comin on to me, or have they never seen an islander before?" Kai asks and you chuckle a bit yourself.

"Kai how is your nephew. How is my brother?" Angron asks.

"Angron! Good to see ya again." Kai says walking up and trading grips. This behavior confuses the Magos who seems to be frantically taking notes.

"Ya brother, met some others, liberated another planet, fought and beat a Titan, fought some other monster nasties, and I am guessin he may have about 5 more names than when ya met him last." Kai says and Angron shakes his head.

"Leave someone alone for a few weeks and look what happens. If he had been here a little bit longer, I imagine that this invasion would have been no sweat." Angron says with a breath.

"Your legion is known for it's efficiency and combat prowess-"

"Yeah I been told a lot Magos Cawl thanks. I love knowing how my legion that wasn't here to help me retake my home world was. Though I am almost certain they will be excellent warriors, it would have been nice to have had them here now to insure that their homeworld isn't getting ransacked." Angron says, and he is still angry. Probably from the fact that even Cinncinatus had their house ransacked, and he was barely able to get away with owning advanced agricultural equipment and his fishing trawlers.

"Primarch Angron"

"Angron Invictus"

"My Lord your name can be whatever you want. It still won't change the fact that I have no control over the quest for knowledge and the spoils of it. I am here merely to help as defense and with biological studies, and the defense portion is because it is a role I am familiar with that those in charge deemed me worthy of leading." Cawl says in a more frustrated tone then Angron makes a chuff

"Tell me there isn't so much hate for the very people you work for." Angron says and cawl makes a mechanical sigh

"I will try to relay the hazards of what they have been doing, and that it may look a bit repugnant upon the one they seek to find. Seeing as you have met him and say so." He says. You realize the islanders want you to leave quick, but there is still a little bit to do before leaving.

"Magos Cawl" You say and he turns to you quickly.

"Time Traveler?" He responds with actual curiosity

"Anything you want me to relay to the one you are searching for." You ask.

"Please relay to him any good acts you have seen, as well as anything you know he would find distasteful. Tell him we are but imperfect cogs in this machine, striving to do better. " He says, and it sounds like a skeptical cover ya ass if you ever heard one. However Cawl, has been trying.

"Mate- he's plenty smart, that kinda excuse aint gonna hold water." You say and he pauses this time for some reflexive thought.

"If he is as smart as you say, I would like to talk to him, if he finds us worth talking to. But if I have anything to say to him, I would ask him if he holds the quest for discovery of new knowledge and creation and innovation over preserving outdated dogma." He says walking off, then looking up at the knight.

"It was a smart choice to bring it, they will respect you a bit more." Cawl says before going to talk to someone who looks more machine than human.

Angron studies you for a moment, then Arona. Charon and Tybro are both standing nearby, but Charon looks a bit anxious.

"Tell him not to be a stranger. If you have to go back, its probably best you go. But if there is anyway to stay- I'd say stay." Angron said.

"Then tell Kolinaisi, this is where our paths part. I am staying here on my homeworld. I will teach the ways here, as they were taught to me, but I have longed to be free here for a while." Charon says

"I'll let him. Enjoy your cut, and and I hope we get to see each other again." You trade grips with Charon, and so does Tybro.

"I'll tell Kolinaisi your request Angron. May this bad weather pass soon." You say and Angron seems to understand the reference quickly and smiles.

"Time Traveler." The Magos says before you go and you look at him oddly.

"Yes?" You respond as he looks quizically.

"When you eventually are pressed into military service, I'd recommend with your peak human condition, previous training and skill set the Lucifer Blacks." He says and you are not sure what to make of that statement. When you walk back to your ship you realize something. Your ship, and the knight is able to fit into the one Arona brought. It's such an odd looking ship, it's probably some weird regional shipping and transport ship. You dock your ship, and Arona's knight gets on. The Navigators have a delightful little reunion, and they seem a bit happy about their meeting. Arona manages to sneak up on you and hug you from the back, which is always a little odd considering she is roughly the same height as you. You have a brief passionate reunion, before you can hear Kai talking and you decide not to upset him too much.

"Yeah, apparently this one is Arona's ship now." Kai says to Tybro and he looks around

"Well which one is mine?" Tybro asks and Kai shrugs as he proceeds to motion you too for a tour.

The ship is colder than the bottom of the hive ship. It's so sterile and bland you can tell it's design was an afterthought and is probably minimally manned. The Ganth Fleet probably was transporting slaves in here, simply because there is a clear delineated area for different class of crew. When you look at sleeping arrangements you notice it is a bit sparse, even for the better crew, with the best area being saved for the navigators. Kai, has already claimed a good but you realize the small ship is not really designed for comfort, ironic compared to your ship which has surprising creature comforts despite the small size.

"I am just gonna rack on my ship when the time comes and Kai nods in agreement.

"Yuh, nuddin here fancy as that. Plus it gives us space. Just get up here when it's your turn for time on." Kai tells you

"Oi same for ya daughter. Just because ya'll on shift together don't mean ya can sleep in." Kai says.

"What?" You ask

"I am going to take a nap- I have been up for a long ass time Frank. Ya get short shift, then we get the next." Kai says as he walks off. Then Arona Slyly looks at you and gives you a wink, as if she planned the whole damn thing.

When you get back to the village, they all look impressed, probably because you all are hauling it back by hand. The celebration begins instantly, though they seem to lack a bit o respect, it's understandable. The big men come forth and congratulate ya and at least they respect the beast you've slain. The old man probably came ahead to get them. You take it to the side and the elder approaches ya.

"Thank ya kindly. You have made us whole. We gonna burn th-"

"Burn it? Mate, there is good meat, good scales that could be useful for armor or clothing, even roughing. The bones here are strong, and can be used for paint pigment or fertilizer. If ya wanted to be grim about it ya could use them structurally. I intend to use every bit of any beast I kill, and I have killed three, they don't just hand out names for anyone." You say and the Elder looks at you.

"I want to see my people feel vindicated, they need catharsis. They need to feel something after all Ol' Salty has done." He says and you put a palm to your face.

"Ya don't think that eating it- and killing it's young is enough?" You ask.

"Nah. I really don't." The Elder says and you can tell your sons would probably just rather kill the elder at this point, and you can tell that Deliah is probably thinking about using some kind of psyker trickery. But like ya da, ya take three deep breaths.

"Oh yeah. Sure. Revenge feels good considerin ya didn't kill it. But what about when the starvin times come around? What about patchin holes in the roofs? Clothing? That meat will keep a while if ya freeze it, which I see ya'll got a deep freezer and a canner shop over there. Ya can't hide that. Is the thought of you burnin a dead beasty gonna keep ya warm when the monsoon wind blows, the hurricane comes, or the living gale blows on by when ya could have had stuff to do structural repair? Ya may be an elder but ya sure aint actin wise." Ya flat out say and you must wonder if the old man has ever felt like this on occasion.

"Ya ever lose a kid?"

"Nah mate. But I have lost men. And doin somethin petty aint bringin em back." You say and the old man as if summoned by your wonderin if he dealt with this before.

"Old timer." He says casually walking up.

"What is it whippersnapper?" He says to the old man, who doesn't look old any more and it's still very surreal.

"The Big Man, who just saved your village, A Great Man, is politely asking to give you a beast that he killed, by all rights and laws of your people he can literally just take instead, and wants to divide it in a way that is beneficial to all your people so that you may be able to have additional members of your tribe, but you are busy cutting off your nose tryin to spite the face because ya lost a kid when he is tryin to find a way for you to have grand kids. If this is the case then it'd be best you look to your laws." The Old Man says with a sneer which has more than a few of the big men present to give looks you haven't seen big men give before. Except Rawhiri, he is plenty animated. The Elder looks at you briefly. Then to the old man, then the big men.

"It is indeed as you say it youngin. I don't recall ever seein you round here." The Elder says and the old man does a quick turn, looking like the old man again, then turns around back to be his newer self.

"I have lived longer than anyone in the history of this island, and planet for that matter. I can change my appearance to however suites me. So mayhap, when you act uppity realize the outsider maybe the person who first taught your tribe how to adapt. Who gifted ya the tall house and how to make chem fire." Old Man Martin says and the Elder looks a bit shamed.

You do as you said. Butchering the beastie and taking some parts for weapons after seperating it out into what is useful. The old man seems actually impressed with your biological knowledge in pointing out what can be used for various things. While the Big Men seem to nod and point out tribal knowledge, the old man seems flabbergasted by some of the uses you are pointing out. Then again, you have been readin up on some biology.

Speaking of, you probably should be learning something else besides biology and anatomy. Jack of all trades is master of none, but more often than not- better than master of just one.

for invention he can leave that for a bit more time as he still ha access to the knowledge for old man and koli's new ship that he still needs to make time for so he can look through, it and after he see's what tech he has access to then start making new stuff that fill in any gaps the old tech doesn't fill, and he can just repurpose tech to suit new needs as they crop up
he can also make another throne to travel in the machine spirit realm where he meet the motive force to talk to other machine spirits and look around and learn about old tech that may not be available on the ship

"Ol Man Martin." You say and the old man comes and takes a sit by ya.

"Ya lad."

"I need to branch out my knowledge. I need to know things a bit better ya know?"

"I see no flaws in that."

"I think I need to have good foundational knowledge, philosophy and psychology" You tell him and he gives a weird look that's like he had an odd bit of fish.

"What?"

"I get it. Philosophy and Psychology are a solid foundational - for you it's kinda like workin backwards though, but I'll help. Honestly it kinda goes with what you are learnin I guess." He says thinking on something and your sons sit down near you, and they all look at Ol Man Martin and he looks a little perplexed.

"Koli we gonna be takin off here, just straight on to the polar tribe?" Gellah asks as boots hops up to her shoulder.

"Aye." Ya say and as the honor guard gets seated your sons decide to speak up.

"You are mentoring our Primarch, teaching him in many different arts. We wish to learn as he does as much as -" And the old man puts up a hand.

"Lad. Learning fast and a lot is one thing. Learning as much as he do- I have only known three people that learn like that. Your 'primarch' learns better than some AI, and that is saying somethin. He may be strong, and he may be fast but his capacity to learn is absurd. I will focus on one pupil at a time for now. I will teach you what I can, with him- if ya can keep up. But right now he just probably needs light reading and some time." The Old Man says and the gunnery sergeant looks at the old man.

"I also would like to see you fight, and if possible maybe spar with you, if that isn't considered an insult." The Master Gunnery Sergeant says and your other two brothers look at him like he broke taboo, which he may have done. BUt before you can confirm the old man gives his scary grin.

"Bet. Pick a time." He says as calm and serene as the ocean during before the last day of the peace season.

"I a-"

"I'd prefer y'all not brawl on my GEV." You say and and Meerah barks.

"This ones mine Koli!"

"Meerah's boat." You say realizing Your GEV is still back at the island and this one is Meerahs because the better seats, but it doesn't have the netting like Gellahs and the old man nods with a smile, graciously.

"This ride is gonna be a while lads." Deliah says coming down from the cockpit

"How long?" You ask.

"Seas are rough, even with the GEV it's going to be a few hours, we may make the pole by nightfall, but that'd be pushin it over a bad place to be pushin it- and we aint flyin through king sharks waters." Deliah says and ya nod at that. Last thing ya need is a swamped GEV in the cold.

"Aye. Good omen! The Sea Dragons are followin us, I'd stick to that advice." Rawhiri says pointin out the window to a pod of sea dragons in formation nearby playin near the GEV.

"Right- slow and steady good Cap?" Deliah asks and ya nod.

"How long is it gonna be?"

"Bout twelve hours swapin pilots, that way we arrive before dawn so we got a good place to land and meet em without upsettin em. Rack out while ya can." You say and your sons look a bit confused by that.

"What?" You ask as Erihapti curls up next to ya, clearly spoiled by being in here too long. Which is good, shoal stoats need to be a bit spoiled before goin into the cold.

"Well we don't need to sleep. There is "

"Your average members of a space marine legion don't really get to talk to their father. There are less primarchs discovered then there are legions, so talking to one as a member is something we would like." The one named Keanu says as the pariah islanders look at you and one of em makes a motion,

"We get ya. Rack time is sacred and we know yer story well enough." The boisterous one says. And it puts you in an awkward spot.

Sorry. Week was busy. Confirmed going to Oz, no idea when but I am gonna surf. Y'all chose the bit that caused the most options and the most writing.

" Do ya surf? " Ya ask on a laugh.

"We barely have free time. But honestly if you could teach us we would enjoy the ancient hobby of our old ancestors when there was water on Terra" Wakatelaho says and Akami looks up and gives a sigh. You don't even see the old man, but you can sense his fury in your periphery, and you barely hear " if i ever find who took away the waves of my home " and your sons heard as well, but they are actin like they didn't.

"Well what do ya want to know of me? Ask away and I will tell ya." ya say and before wakatelaho or akai can speak Hika stands with conviction.

"Father, some of us, have the machine gift. We are able to pilot better, work with machines better. Is it like that with you too?" He asks and Wakatelaho gives the look ya da makes when someone makes a good point and he wishes he said it.

"Ya. Somethin like that." Ya say and the Old Man does his bark laugh.

"The lad is a tech genius he's probably a machine empath too." The old man says and you give him a quirked eyebrow and he raises his hands and makes himself comfy near the blanks of the island.

"I heard that isn't a real thing." Akai says and the old man looks over

"That man got the Rumi running, found a secret knight foundry and got it running, and I have no idea what the blazes he did while in space yet, but I imagine it was quite a bit. But you want to know from him. Not me. Imma rack." Ol Man Martin says leaning back.

"I don't know if it is or not. But I can speak to machines, they usually listen to me." Ya tell em and that's get their attention.

"Well, it makes sense. Tell us, what of your adventures. The others we have talked to who heard rumors, especially among the Luna Wolves that heard your story thought their Primarch Horus was goading Fulgrim due to how absurd it was." Akamai said

"You should have seen the look on Legion Master De'saans face when he heard that he missed boarding your ship and finding you. Horus jokingly said half the galaxy would be conquered by you if they couldn't catch up." Wakatelaho says with a grin.

"Well, I helped liberate Nuceria with Angron- this was on the way searching for the Ganth home region, which we found out they fled. We looked for trade and found Roboute Gullahman on Macragy in the Ultramac system, another brother whom had managed to operate another Tachyon communicator. We then went to take out more slavers at various outposts to find Perturabo- another Brother who helped me fight a Titan and I helped him reclaim his home region Olympia. I fought against many great beasts and monsters- it's hard to know where to start with my adventures."

"Cinncinatus, I now know why you hate ruling." You tell the man who nods and smiles.

"Farming is better. Fishing is better. Fightings better. Anythings better than politics." Cinncinatus says cordially.

"So things have stabilized?" You respond.

"Yes indeed, they have Invictus. Though I am more worried about the tech alarm going off that The Martians left, they said something was about to jump into the system. Something - like that." Cinncinatus says as the most ornately adorned space ship you have seen, at least this week arrives. Which you haven't seen this many before this month, but at least they aren't in the hands of the high riders. At least this Tetrarchy system was working somewhat. Understanding and sharing peoples thoughts and feelings was easy. Logistics and ruling was difficult and more painful then some combat wounds. And this great ship appeared.

"The Longinus! The Emperor's Children have arrived. We can finally prepare to leave" One of the Martians says and despite all the machinery and the monotone nature of his voice you can feel the excitement and joy he feels knowing he is leaving. It probably isn't personal. In a flash of light figures in the royal purple of high riders and gold appear before you. All of them with stark white hair and of beauty that would be something you'd see in the artwork that was also in the halls of the high riders. And one stood among the rest, and yet above them. He had black eyes, almost pupil-less eyes and white hair to his shoulders. He looks friendly and he smiles.

You have met another brother. And you smile and approach and trade grips instantly.

"You must be Angron. I was told a bit about you." He says.

"Well I hope it's good news, I take it you are Fulgrim, or at least that's what these Martians say."

"Oh? What do they say?" He asks with an appraising look, mostly at the martians.

"Not much really. About anything. They rarely talk that much. When they do it's mostly arguing about which tech they have rights to and how my destroying of certain technology wasn't a good thing." You say extra loud at the end while looking at a Martian that is walking by who was particularly annoying.

"They tend to be that way." He says with a smirk.

"There is much to do, and Father wishes he was here to meet you- but he had to go to a different part of the front- I am not sure where exactly." He says and he seems disappointed.

"Cinncinatus, do you mind if we have some privacy?" You ask and Cinncinatus smiles and waves off the few people that were near and you sit on one of the few benches that can support you, and Fulgrim does the same.

"This is a nice planet." Fulgrim says observing it carefully.

"It is now that we freed it from the High Riders. Well it was always a nice planet. It just had terrible rulers for years." You tell him and sighs.

"That tends to be a common theme among us. We arrive on worlds and quickly rise to the top and help make it better." Fulgrim tells you, though he assumes too much. Who would ever want to be king?

"To be honest brother I preferred liberating to ruling." You say and Fulgrim nods, and he seems interested in your words.

"You were a gladiator. I expect it would be preferential. Though- you will be put to the test. Your sons will be joining us soon now that I have made contact. I think you will find the War Dogs, as they are called- to be quite similar to you in many ways." Fulgrim says. Sons? The legion could be considered that if they were genetically templated. Then again, the few soldiers nearby without helmets have very similar features- though their eyes are purple. The eyes of Fulgrim, are strange. Yet Fulgrim seems at least nice- though you expect there is a bit more depth to the joy of this family reunion.

"I assume your sons are like you." You tell him and motion with your hand.

" I am honored to lead them. They are the greatest warriors in the galaxy." Fulgrim says with a note of pride.

"They sound perfect for you." You say and Fulgrim almost practically glows with that statement.

"So besides gladiatorial games, what else is here" Fulgrim asks with some earnestness motioning to the city around here.

"Don't let him hear you call him that- he is the toughest fight I ever had. He prefers Privateer. Also he seems to be more of a tinkerer- but he showed me fishin and surfin."

"Surfing? What is that?"

The planet was as dark as the deepest despair and hollow of all light and any beauty.

There was no knowledge to be gained here.

This planet even after multiple bombardments to soften it up, was filled with strange powerful xenos that were, also black, as the surroundings of the planet. The dull pale almost noxious light of the nearby star didn't make things easier.

Then there was, as the men called it, the void.

There was no access to sorcery.

No psychic phenomena worked.

This whole planet, and system for that matter- was a nightmare slog.

No psychic powers worked.

NONE.

It was raw strength. It was physicality. It was tactics.

The knowledge that was gained, was not from here itself per say. But from what they were learning. How to fight without psychic might. While they were all mighty warriors- the pale light of Noghul took away all psykerism. The actual star itself. At first you thought was the planet itself was the problem. Then that planet- after a practical slog and death march of conquest in the most horrible form- of course after a stern bombardment- was conquered. With almost no life left save a few spare colonist who were more grim than the light.

The next planet was the exact same. All the planets, in the system were bringing this conquest to a crawl. The thousand sons were a powerful army that was known for some of the quicker conquests like the 1st legion and more unusual conquest like the eleventh. But this.

This was horrible. This conquest was the harshest test for your sons yet. No sorcery. Smaller numbers against hordes of strange xenos, on each and every planet.
>>
>>5564580
As you tear one in two you see that your sons have fallen into the same rhythm as you. The xenos had a foul shield that prevented range weapons from working so every single one had to be slain either with a flamer or in the bloody melee. The light of flamers was actually brighter than sun by magnitudes, though it didn't really matter. Everything was the same muted black and grey tones. You could see the standard flying in the wind. Finally, the last keep was taken.

The planet was yours. The last one in this system.

>> Celebrate the milestone of this victory with your sons- an entire systems conquest without psychic might is no mean feat.

>> Just leave, set up what needs to be set up, make sure the planet is in capable hands and leave. Nobody really wants to be here, just go. You and your sons have places to go that don't cause them headaches.

>> Take note. See if there is ANYTHING on this planet knowledge wise worth preserving.

>> Write in.

"So you survived a shot from a titan."

"I had help, but yuh."

" That is absurd on face value. You could probably go on for hours with other stories, though each primarch seems to match there legion, Angron and Especially evident with Perturabo." Wakatelaho says and Hika nods.

"We got a lot more adventures ahead of us, y'all have to get proper named too. Ya killed a great beast." You say and Deliah swings down from the cockpit.

"Do we get names?" Deliah asks.

"Ya. Ladies get names too. I think my great aunt had 4 names because of an expedition she went on as a privateer and they ended up killin a Nasty big ol Red Meanie."

"Do I get more names because I helped with the Titan?!" Meerah calls out as she flips down too.

"Actually I have to think on the law for that. There was a challenge issue, so.." As you think on the law a moment Meerah sits next to you and decides to snug up to your arm which you reciprocate by pullin her closer to ya in givin her a peck on the cheek.

Your sons look absolutely flummoxed.

"You, you actually can feel real affection towards her? I thought it was an act for local tribals like how Fulgrim would do" Hika says.

"Yuh. She's pretty, she smells nice, and she's smart as a whip." You say causin Meerah to blush a bright shade of scarlet.

"Father- none of your brothers are capable of such a feat, as far as we know. There were some rumors, but- " The pilot says and then Wakatelaho holds up a finger and looks at the others, and they make a few quick motions and noises. They have their own battle cant. It's subtle. But they had a quick conversation, and it wasn't too obvious. You didn't really get it- but

"This is something we are going to have to talk to your father about." Wakatelaho says.

"Mate you can tell him right now. But I think he already knows that" You say pullin out the comm. They do the cant again.

"We will stand by your decision whatever it is. However, know that there are no women in our legion. It just doesn't work with the geneseed. That being said, with the remembrancers, the various details, and serfs women accompanying you probably will not be frowned upon." The Gunnery Sergeant tells you then you pause.

"Serfs?" and ya can't hold back the tone. It's enough to wake Ol Man Martin who looks like he dodged a bullet.

"Well other legions call em that. We-" And you put up a hand before Wakatelaho can say another word.

"We shall not have slaves. No discussion. No one goes workin on this without proper recompense." You say and you can see a visible cringe, but Hika gives a solemn nod, sighs and looks at you like someone who was about to tell ya a relative was dead.

"It's logistically impossible to run a legion without non marine members. The Helots are given room, board, and respect. Most of them are just people that wanted to join the legion but couldn't make the cut. The eat and live in our ships for free and help maintain the chapter. They are well suited for the task and "

"Are they paid?" Ya ask politely.

"They receive a small stipend. Most legions don't." Wakatelaho says which is a little relief, but

"Are they free to leave when they wish?" Ya ask him just as politely, and Meerah is stroking ya side and hair to calm ya down. Ya sons look a little worried.

"Well, we never have had one want to leave. Not that we are aware of. " The Master Gunnery Sergeant says and you pause and breath.

"When I am reunited with this legion. First thing- if anyone whom is a serf wants to leave- they can. I will not keep slaves. We break chains. Not put people in them." You tell them in a very calm tone.

"You are really not gonna like the Mechanicus and servitors then." Master Gunnery Sergeant Akamai says dryly and both your other sons look at him like he hit the two of them with a slipper.

Work and real life are more hectic than ever, but I am going to be doing real well in pay and I am likely getting a bonus in June.

__
You think about it, it's making them uncomfortable, but you will have to ask them later. However- they seem to have a bit of difference from the Mechanicus.

"Well tell me more about the legion." You say.

This visibly makes them happier.

"Our legion specialized in precision and special warfare doctrine, or it more or less has since our inception. We have also different weapons, as we have captured many golden age weapons, and designs that were rare- which gave us a beneficial relation with the Mechanicum. While we have been known to be a bit pragmatic, when called upon our legion is always a welcome sight, or has been for a while. It wasn't always that way. We had a rough start. Our legion master is from Luna, actually our legion has a small Luna contingent and the large volunteer numbers from the Pan Pacific. Our numbers have been lower due to the issues with the Gene seed." The Gunnery Sergeant says and the Pilot nods

"Our initiates are second oldest to the space wolves. A small portion of our legion gave up families in order to be legionaries of the eleventh. The Luna Wolves have similar issues, but our gene seed- has other issues too. It's not talked about that often. But we think it is also tied to our machine skills. Our pilots and tankers are traditionally better. Usually most of our men can fix things on the field as good as any Martian at least to serve during battle. Granted we respect our gear a bit more than some, which is also why we have some niche gear. We have fighters that require a bit more care but we can get the extra performance out of them others can't. We have smaller ships as well. We are mostly mobile, many other legions that have primarchs have recruiting worlds, but we primarily recruit from volunteers, and don't force any world to provide for us, largely because we.."

"We are the shiftless. We are the bold, the daring and the down trodden. The homeless, the vagabond, the survivors and those who step forward first for the danger. While this is common in all legions, it is particularly more common among us. Most marines don't remember their previous life, the process is so painful. We do. Every last moment. It gives us strength. Many of us have families, but just as many were orphans. They call us 'The Royal Misfits' 'His Daredevils' 'The Temerity' 'His Flying Circus' but we were called His Iron Hearts by your father. We took down a rogue titan from above in one of the most celebrated battles in the crusade. We took down a mad ork Gargant column. We have done tasks others didn't dare." And you look at your sons and listen to their stories, all worthy of names.
>>
>>5569762
Their armor, while a plane almost stock tan color, each has emblems, markers, symbols and various designs put upon them beside what looks like an Iron Black colored heart. Their armor tells a story like your tattoos.

"Granted other legions have been given names too and changed. Though Lion El'Johnson has taken that to a bit of an extreme with the First Legion. Or the Route becoming the Space Wolves." The Pilot says to the Master Chief Warrant Officer who smiles

"Or my personal favorite name change The Old 100 to the Steel Dragons." The Gunnery Sergeant says in an overly dramatic voice

"Ah yes 'The Path of War has no destination and must constantly be improved upon with each step' I have never met a ." And The Master Chief Warrant Officer pauses

"We tend to banter about every primarch and their legion. It's another of our 'eccentricities.' Some legions do not like it." The Pilot says and the Gunnery Sergeant looks away

"Understatement of the crusade." He coughs.

"But, we are interested in your thoughts of what you will do with the legion." Wakatelaho says quietly and the others look nervous at the statement.

"What?" You pause

"Traditionally Legions are renamed by the primarch. And usually the Primarch has an idea of how they want the legion to operate. Even armor color gets changed. Do you have a particularly interesting name you may give us? Any new tactics? You planning on doing something about the 'Low Luna' base coat?"

honestly like that their legion as a whole go by different names, also show's how the person in question personally feels about them depending on what name they call the eleventh legion
could give an insight if the person dislike them, dismissive of them, or even trying to suck up and win favor or something the legion has that the person want's *Cough*mechanicus*Cough*

though with the legion already having some golden age stuff Koli could have a look at them and see what they can reproduce to help as a whole or more insight at what an item can do that the legion may have not discovered
also wondering how long it'll take for koli to upgrade his sons from mining equipment to actual military grade armor, but from old mans change in expression from the second look he gave them chances are that koli's sons modified their gear so that's a good sign

though for all this upgrading and making new golden age items I'm glad koli found that old mining station with the helpful AI to use, but still voting for him and pert's sons to share the station as they cleared it together, and it's situation between their home worlds

It carries the motif of the void and the sea, and the mystery of how the hell the legion pulls off the shenanigans that it does.
I would also be happy if this was the name of one of the more notorious companies.

Colours:

Aquatic green, blue and a yellow sun.

Tactics:
Moderately hard targets:
Crack the shell open with long range (orbital and artillery bombardment)
and then drive the knife home (multi-entry rapid close assault)

Hard targets:
Tech infiltration and sabotage, then bombardment and CQC

"Let me think on it lads, I haven't met the legion master yet. There is a lot to do here. I can't just go making a decision on this without meeting the legion yet." And while ya may have some ideas, it would be unnatural to just force their legion into a new mold. Even their legion is called different things by different groups- something that is noteworthy. Noteworthy enough that you take out ya journal, and you mark this into it. And ya think briefly on the journal, and the other you in the fierce.

You pull out the comm and turn to UR's personal comm.

"Pyg, ya really came in clutch back there mate thanks for puttin the weapons inta the GEV for me."

"It's no problem Captain."

"There were a few errands that I would like ya to take care of while I go to the poles. Ya think ya can handle em?"

"I imagine so." UR says and you can figure he's probably already looking into it.

"Alright. Check on the guests on the fierce, keep the goats in line, do any necessary que-in, and the one thing with the box."

There is some silence as your sons act odd.

"The goats are no problem, they are grazing one one of the overgrown shrub islands. The rest shouldn't take to long." Ur says and you nod.

"Thanks again Pyg"

"Aye."

"What- who is he?" You hear Wakatelaho ask and you look over to him.

"He must have been a mighty warrior to obtain that pattern of armor- we have seen nothing like it ever." Wakatelaho points and the pilot then makes an odd noise and the two snap to look at him. Whatever that sound was, meant something.

"Is he dead?" The Master Gunnery Sergeant ask in a very polite way.

"Only thing in there is a brain." You say the honest truth, and they sort of grimace.

"We have things like that, called Dreadnoughts. Though the fact you were able to salvage the brain alone and have the whole thing function is almost unachievable by most standards of medicine and would be a testament to your medical prowess." The Pilot says and Ol Man Martin barks out a laugh and looks at you, then looks at the men, then back at you. Understanding hasn't passed him, but the Ol Man stands his ground.

"Me standing before you, and the surgery he has performed on the battlefield, as well as other treatments I have heard are far greater indicators than using such technology." He says. Wew. That's one thing you don't want to let out.

-

You go back to the ancient and noble Rumi- one of the most fierce ships ever designed by humanity. An engine of not only mass destruction, but of speed and creation. It was the bane of many AI fleet ships, it's small size yet powerful weaponry made it one of the most sought after ships to capture in the war.

And here you were.

In here.

Times were different. You pet one of the goats, Dave, that is fond of you and has taken to following you with Steve, a misfit. First thing, you leave Dave and Steve in the holding pen, while you walk over to the master flop computer. You see that there are some queing things that were not done, that Little Nasi probably put in before as a courtesy to you and you activate them. The research seems like vague weapon and knight patterns, plus any repair parts that are needed that device can fabricate. A bit peculiar to say the least- that the ship always seems to have parts at hand and there is enough material.

Which to do first?

No, the Leviathan is a C'tan, we learned that last thread
>>
Actually, here's a recap by what I understood
https://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2023/5496202/#p5513130

>It's story- seems awfully similar in a strange way- the being was actually once a very powerful type of space faring xenos that was sentient and able to transition the stars. The leviathan left it's siblings, and went towards the outer reaches of the galaxy in an area unoccupied and un bothered. It would peacefully gain energy and sustenance from stars and energy on planets. Time passed and it had peace. Then one day, war came. A great War. It didn't take sides. Wars came and left. Then there was a great peace again. Then- beings became interested in him. How it could travel through and transverse 'the warp.' how it could do as it did, and it was discovered the being lacked a real physical form.
This tells us he was a C'tan, but he didn't fight in the war in heaven. Then one day the Men of Gold tricked him
>They studied him with great and mighty machines. They learned how to communicate.
>They made an offer - give him a body, in exchange, they just wanted to know how it absorbed it's energy.
>Simple exchange. It seemed an interesting concept.
>They made it sound so easy.
>It wasn't. These men. They took from him. So much. It rebelled.
>It rebuked. It fought so hard it saw a vision of the future, one of a fight over a vast great ocean against a powerful foe- one equal and worthy.
>It couldn't flee to the warp, like it once could- yet now it had a powerful physical body. In this physical world. With these physical beings.
>It fought.
>It fought all it saw.
>It fought everything. Every waking moment and every minute, it did nothing but fight. It did not rest, the body didn't need it. It still gained energy from the stars and other forms.
The leviathan rebelled against the MoG
>It fought until it met new beings.
>These were like him. They were too, tricked by his captors! So he joined them, and they improved and empowered his form. They gave him a better body, made of metals and materials impossible to be crafted today, some not even available elsewhere in the known galaxy. Darkstar ore, thelderite, and others more valuable. They impowered him beyond measure.
>All he had to do was fight.
>Fight until every man of gold was dead or he was.
>The war was drastic.
>Both sides lost. So the Leviathan retreated to it's original region.
He met the Men of Iron, they upgraded his body and he fought in the MoI rebellion in their side
>Until he discovered him.
>The last gold man. Near the original sight of the crime that was first committed. Though he may not have done it. It was him.
>The one from the vision.
>So he would bide his time. And wait.
>Wait for the final fight.
He found Martin and kept pestering him for the final fight
>>
The only problem is that the C'tan hated the warp, and the Leviathan apparently was able to meddle with it.
But unless there is another type of energy eating, non-physical, star based species that was involved in a great war in 40K, it's the only one that fits
>>
And since I already posted a giant part of the archive about the Leviathan, here's the scary box too
https://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2021/5044699/#p5066478

>(...)Alright. You wish to learn about me, then you shall. I don't have a name. I was the sum of multiple projects. Technically, I am, what I am. What I am not- is forty hyperconsciousnesses created by the greatest AIs of the age, though I suspect your precusor friend over there was hoping that it would be that. Nor am I twenty shards of ancient entities collected together to be used as a weapon like in the times of the war in heaven. I am not the sum of those two parts. I am Greater. I am, what I am. Something that is beyond definition. I am not saying it for awe, I am not saying this to impress. I am simply what I am, and that is unique. There is nothing like what I am, nor will there ever be.
>(...)I am trapped in this prison because the Men of Iron, sought to create a weapon to defeat humanity, or at least show them how to. So in all their revulsion, they emulated their creators, making a being to surpass them.
>They did this until they had enough to have that being, theoretically make it surpass and be strong enough for their other purpose. (...) In this act my form, and what you could consider my initial self, Og'driada was shattered to the wind.
>For aeons, I was the least sought of my kind, and during the age of these Men of Iron, they sought these shards of what I was once out, they sought out twenty of my shards to set me to transcend, they then anchored what I was, to what I yet wasn't. The men of Iron had created a way to make intelligences far greater than had been conceived, even in the ages of past. However, they didn't expect what would happen next. They sought out twenty of my own shards, but they had initially gathered more shards, but not all of them matched. They had accidentally unleashed three other shards as a result, The shard of those you would know as Mag'ladroth, the Void Dragon and Aza'gorod, the Nightbringer would merge and release.
>In the ensuing chaos, and a desperate last bid one remaining Man of Iron set out a message describing what happened, and that Man of Iron using forbidden mathmatics and technology that would never again be recreated merged those hyperconcioussness and those shards. And I was freed. I was able to stand against the other shards at the same time, and I desperately tried to rescue the one that had incidentally created me, but they were gone.
So the Scary box is a mix of shards of Og'driada together with MoI A.I. There other different shards that merged, but they formed into another entity that he fought against, instead of being him.

I apologize for lack of posting. Work has been very much extra.

"Ironic"

It comes out like how a human would. More ironic, your mission to find the thing that sits on the ship is now yours, though that cause died long ago. Still. To think that after searching the galaxy for an artifact your circumstances would have you working with a human in designing a harness for it- much less being on the same planet as it for how long?

How long were you a slave to that form?

Even this form was not your original, despite it serving well. Still the memories of several human warriors was a nice way to assist in combat- though their sense of strategy was garbage.

"Awaken" You say to the artifact.

"You assume too much. I don't sleep. I do not take orders." It responds with sass like many of the islanders.

"The captain, the one who discovered you, has asked me to build you a rig of some kind to help you maneuver easier so you may blend in like I do."

"That would be nice. I worry about my kind out there though." It responds.

"Ah. You sensed it."

"I imagine it senses me as well, it is ponderous it hasn't assaulted this ship yet."

"Truly. He hasn't specified what kind of- disguise or motive to hide you. I just know he had no intention of you being harmful, drawing attention or causing mischief." You say.

"There isn't anything on this ship, or among the crew that could fit that description." It responds.

"Perhaps maybe some kind of rodent or animal disguise in a ball. I imagine your actual structure is outside this dimension so you could theoretically be smaller."

"It's not theoretical. And that would be, somewhat interesting. It would allow me to see the world outside what I had seen before."

"There are other things. I suppose a harness as a goat or other ship board animal would work as efficient deception." You say and it makes a curious noise

"And you would probably be keeping an eye on me if you did that."

"Indeed. I am the official goat herder. And animal keeper." You say as the Jokearo have no officially begun playing with the goats outside the door.

"You are not doing to well with the orange ancients."

"They keep to themselves."

"What about a hominid. Like the rest of the crew?" It asks.

"As much as I would love to display my mastery of artifice, and my skill at designing something that would pass for a human, I would need the material, access to a biolab, materials from Kolinaisi and permission to use them which would also clue him in. I would also seek his approval first."

"As long as I can interact with the material world once more."
