I am sorry I have been gone friends. My schedule was rough and I found out on Thursday that the pain in my stomach area was actually acute appendicitis and just got released from the hospital today. On the upside- pain killers and an enhanced appreciation for good surgery. Apparently my appendix looked like it had been pickled.

You are Kolinaisi Kaiko Wahthiri- Ruarua of Somethin Fierce, your ship, and Primarch of the Eleventh Legion. You have slain another Beasty today, the Venerable Ol' Salty. You saved some of the eggs so more can grow, as apex predators are important to the Ecosystem and you are on your way to the pole. One of the few places on De'lormosa you have never visited before. So far the trip has been productive, but the answers of your sons has you worried for certain aspects of the governance of your fathers imperium. Though their eagerness to learn from you, and the discovery of your own rare psyker talent seems quite extraordinary.

As your sons actually get to know the pariah islanders who volunteered, you look outside. Icebergs. Creatures you have never seen before. It's quite beautiful. But it's already cold, as if Meerah and Erihapti cuddling next to you for warmth wasn't enough of a sign. Gellah slides down the ladder and walks over.

"Good news cap, we are almost there. We had a tail wind most of the way here." Gellah looks at Meerah who is sleeping then at you then smiles and sits down and tussles Erihaptis ears as Boots yawns lazily from her hood. She then gives you the serious talk look only she gives to patients.

"Ya ever deal with the polar people before?" She asks ya and you shake no.

"They different. They speak different. They smart. They have a lot in common with us. But they got problems. They have a lot of medical issues. If you can help me with healin some of them, it would probably earn a lot of good will."

"That's easy enough."

"It's not. It's gonna be heartbreakin. Most us don't take the healin trip up north for some of the injuries and sad stories."

"Ya do what ya can tho right?"

"Aya cap. But they more stubborn than anyone. They harder than ya people. We go up there don't be surprised if they don't have any new tech when they should- or well less than anyone. They hard. The only tech the accept are vehicles. When we go to heal them, the accept it, but they don't bother learnin it. We gave em meds, they just take em, don't ask how to make em. But- they have they code. And if there were any monster hunters better than ya people"

"Hold on that one" Ya say quick

"I have never seen a monster north of the artic line other than Ol' Gran an she kept her distance." Gella says and that worries ya. Monsters, while generally can pose a problem are a key part of De'lormosa's ecosystem. But before you can respond One of your sons, Wakatelaho, comes up to you and sits down.

"Sir- we have an issue."

"What is it Master Chief Warrant Officer Wakatelaho" You say the whole confusin rank and he looks a little impressed. You are gonna have to learn the terms. And it doesn't sound like it's gonna be easy.

"Your planet, has a history of xenos abductions." He says and you let out a snort and Gellah rolls her eyes, as it's enough to wake Meerah who gives an unimpressed look at your son, then looks up at you then goes back to her nap.

"Yes?" You say

"Oh good. So you know about the Pariah islanders ritually giving up one of there own every year to some sort of dread alien being posing as death."

"Wait- wha- I was not informed of such a strange situation. Yes our planet has been constantly attacked by the knife eared, apparently the orks, the ganth and others supposedly but we drive them back."

"This doesn't seem like any of those." Wakatelaho states. You nudge Meerah whom looks at you, a tad grumpy, then you look at Wakatelaho who goes over it again, and Meerah even seems stumped. So you go back to the back.

"Repeat your story?"

"Ya Roit. Sorry Big Man, dint think ya be intrested. Ery year death comes to our islan, and takes one of us and leaves." The one named Declan, whom has probably the most impressive haircut you have ever seen and probably also the most physically impressive of them. This has woken up the old man who now seems to be paying attention.

"Well does death kill them?" You ask

"Naye. Death just walks into a weird green gate. Lon time ago this right goofy pomf glowy fella who shined like the sun comes down an says 'I CAN GIVE YOU GIFTS BEYOND YOUR WILDEST COMPREHENSION IF YOU GIVE ME ONE BABY, ONE MOTHER, AND ONE FATHER. YOUR VILLAGE WILL NEVER KNOW PAIN OR SUFFERERING AGAIN.' To which Cu-Chulain- the elder not the famous younger- chief at the time told him 'to piss right off and never return. We aint dealin with no glowy lying thing." The being was so fucking flummoxed that it nearly exploded and said 'death would surely visit us in a year and take all our miserable lives.'
>>
>>5600136
"So a year passed and sure enough some dark sinister figure arrived claiming to be death, and said they were here on behalf of one they knew and would take the lives of the whole town. To which again Cu-Chulain had doubts and said 'prove it, and not by just killin anyone- anyone can take a life. But if ya really what ya claim, ya can kill anything, go and kill one of the many monsters- start with the Scariest one first- Leviathan - and then ya can prove ya death." This apparently angered death whom flew off, in what was the general direction of Leviathan. It took about a day but 'Death' came back, and said Leviathan was not his to take and was offended by this and said that the whole town was his to take. Cu_Chulain, seeing what was about to happen, decided to try to trick this Death again. "Ya can take all of us, but then who would prove to the others that you are in fact death? Ya take all of us here, nobody else on this planet is gonna believe ya ever. And then ya might actually have to deal with the Leviathan again, and waste ya time again."

This caused death to pause and look at the small village, they then seemed to understand something. "I will take one of you, a year. And I will return every year to take one of you personally to my domain until this village is no more." And the village is the primary village of the island- so it hasn't really gone. So yeah. Every year, same day- 'Death' shows up, takes a volunteer, and leaves."

"Can ya draw this death?" The old man asks.

"Ya, he took ma pa when he was really sick, an gonna die, I can't not remember them." He says and he draws quite the menacing figure, a hood, a gaunt humanlike face and a long scythe. The old man studies it for a second looks at Wakatelaho, then pulls out a honkin tome from a side bag that looks like it weighs two stone. He studies the book briefly then tosses the book to you.

"No he's right." He says and you go to the page that shows a similar image to the one he drew listing 'C'tan: Azaragore, the Nightbringer.'

"We may have to deal with that sooner than later." You say

"Well lad- ya got a week. Ya can get to anywhere on this planet in a little over two days in this here flyin boat." He says.

You sigh like your dad and pinch the bridge of your nose.

So you got a week. To talk to the poles. Before going back to the pariah isles.

Ok, so we probably are going to use the scary box to deal with the Nightbringer.
The C'tan sure love De'lormosa, must be a great vacation spot that even sun ayys go to retire and visit.

or plan ways either with the box or make another box to capture this C'tan and have it contained though more securely as to prevent something like what happened with the other koli from happening again as I don't think this C'tan would refuse leaving it's containment as the scary box did

also we should speak with the ox to try and find a name for it as we are also planning to give it a new vessel for it to pilot while still being in the box of course

You saddle up to the comms.

"Pygmalius" You say

"Captain. I am nearly complete. I have successfully put the crab in a ball."

"What?" You ask

"The matter you asked of"

"Oh. That's actually really clever Pyg. I love it. I got another matter for you and Roboute."

"Should he be hear to listen?" They ask.

"I'd reccomend that." A voice says-

"No way- Phi? That you?" You ask

"Aye Dear Kappa. It took a while but I managed to construct one comms and a charger."

"Pyg, it would be helpful-"

"Phi, how are things on your home world?"

"I took a page out of Rho and Your book. There is good work being done, but it is bitter work. Paranoia apparently is a planetary phenomena, and not just my own. My fathers on shortcomings have been made more apparent to me, and I have been honestly thinking of making Andos tyrant. Frankly I have been learning a surprising amount from those around me." Ya can hear Perturabo's Sigh

"Ya. We had a thing here with Cannibals. I got to meet my sons!" You say and then smile.

"Say hello to your uncle Perturabo kids." You say jokingly holding the comms next to them and they seemed confused, but the first to greet is the humble pilot

"Sire. Greetings. Your Sons are some of the most underappreciated and hard working space marines. They are truly their namesake of Iron Warriors, and us Iron Hearts are honored to work with them when we get the chance, which is oddly infrequent. The Iron Hands, Iron Warriors and Iron Hearts don't work together too often- though we do work with the Steel Dragons." He says

"There are many metal naming schemes in these Legions." Perturabo says

"Beasts, Metal, Body Parts, Other things that are scary and fierce- a legion name needs strike fear, something scary." Wakatelaho says. Your eyes widen and you begin a shrewd smirk for a name of your legion but Perturabo

"Perhaps I should take a page out of my brothers book: how does 'Something Scary' sound as a legion?" Perturabo asks

"I imagine the emperor may laugh and then say no shortly after"

"Hmmm The bogeymen?"

"I also think that may not work." Wakatelaho says trying to not laugh as hard as he can.

"Phi! It is good to hear your voice!"

"Ah Rho! it is good to hear yours as well. Kolinaisi, you said you had something important of me for note."

" I am going to tell you a story, something occurs on my planet. I need someone to observe- and see it is as if it was told to me. You an outside observer, along with Pyg and their pet crab." You say with some added inflection so UR gets it.
>>
>>5601299

"Need to go to the Pariah isles one week from today. Take men you trust, just one. Observe- and tell me we what is going on and if it happens as I tell you." You say

"What happens?" Rho asks and you say and go over the story.

"That sounds like strange superstition." Perturabo says.

"Ya- we need to confirm that. Hopefully it's just some silly superstition, not an actual xenos threat." You say

"That is logical. I have much I must do friends. I will be back soon, and certain matters meet my attention." Perturabo says and Suddenly Deliah swings down.

"Is that Perturabo?!" She says exciteldly

"Hi!" She says in a tone that is exceptionally not normal for her.

"Hello! I hope we get to speak again soon!" He says

"Is Gellah there?" Roboute asks

"I am, but I was trying to let a private conversation be slightly more private." She says looking at Deliah in a way that seems mischievous.

"We will meet again soon, be safe." He says

"You too" Gellah says.

"Deliah who is flying the ship?" You ask

"I am! Y'all a bunch of layabouts and skallywags! Maybe send one of your sons up to learn to fly a gev!" Yana says in a faux temper that makes you laugh. You look at the Pilot and motion over and he nods and goes up. A few moments later- it's subtle, but you can tell it- your son takes the reigns, and they do an okay job.

"Ahoy! Land ho!" And you peek outside and it's COLD, so you duck back in and grab the great coat. As you do so, the other big men do the same.

"Ya mate. Everyone 'says' it's cold but nobody tells ya it's 'cold' like that" Rawhiri says making a little shake motion and ya nod.

As you get to shore near the dock. You are surprised. There is a small settlment, and a few people already. One person, looks somewhat similar to your people, but less tan, and wearing a very fancy jacket approaches.

"Ah, has someone come for medicine again?" He says as Gellah pops out.

"Ah O'ka! Good to see ya. We are here to discuss with ya leaders the changes that about to happen." Gellah said and O'ka nods.

"They are in the hall. It's a lucky day. They all just got back from whaling. I have never seen so many big men. This must be important, then again, I have never seen so many outsiders that weren't from the undersea city at once like this." O'ka says waving the group to the hall, which is fairly large. Inside it's actually quite warm, and quite cozy. Pelts and furs of various kind, some animals you have never seen before, decorate the wall, as do old weapons. As the group of you enter, O'ka says something to someone who runs to the center and calls out.
>>
>>5601301
"Big Men from the rough islands and the witches of the green islands have sent a contingent for discussion." The person says out. A man, slightly larger than the rest with grey dreadlocks puts down his beer and nudges a smaller adolescent, maybe teenage woman and whispers something. She then snaps up and looks around, then hops off the large chair and walks towards your group.

"So it is true. She is in charge now." Gellah says and Meerah gives an odd sound.

"I am happy to hear what you have to say. I am O'sona the current Queen. The council of the big men is always well regarded by our kind and the healers from the green islands have always been helpful." She says and motions to the large table in the front. You follow her to the front and the chairs are not really big enough for you, your sons, or Rawhiri. So they bring in benches. It's actually a little funny.

"So what news do you bring?"

"Better not to think of the fact that the coordinates for that ancient device were to De'lormosa and the last time it was used was before the unification war. In fact better not that anyone knows about this device."

Caretaker Zardoz, moments before destroying the enigma device...

-
You look at Meerah and Gellah and let them speak start the discussion. She seems to be listening to what they have to say, but you notice something. The Man with the dreadlocks, is monitoring your table carefully.

Their talk goes exceedingly well. The girls layout what's about to happen pretty well, but the man with dreadlocks isn't worried about his girl. The old man seems to act casual and occasionally looks back at him and then to what he is doing.

The man with the dreadlocks on the throne is appraising you. And while the discussion is going well, you instantly recognize something.

The man maybe the one to make the final decision. You nod to the girls and the big men and walk over to him.

He isn't just appraising you, but also the old man. He drinks from his beer. He is large. Even for standards of the planet.

"You been given us the ol hairy eyeball this whole time." You say as you stand next to the pedestal.

"The obvious doesn't seem to escape you, son of Ravi, you have your fathers accumen, and his bravery. You are bigger and stronger, clearly as the north star is steady. They don't tell you of the north and our customs, because you weren't ready yet. And they clearly did not talk to you about me."

"No they didn't. I don't even know ya name. I don't know ya title. I just suspected ya some grump who leers at everyone." You say and he grins and makes a slight laugh and motions to the chair next to him, and he offers you his hand. It is strong, and you can feel the hard work. He then nods.

"I am Dal, they call me the starborn. I was not born here. Neither was the ancient over there. You already knew that. I was a gland warrior. A Techno Barbarian. A warlord. A warlock and a psykanist and so much more. I was also banished to 'The farthest flung reach of the galaxy' using a powerful device. To be fair, I can tell your father, your creators handiwork. Are you strong son?" The man says in a tone as calm as the ocean on a windless day. Not a bit of malice. Not a drop of anger. Calm as the beach. Yet the words he say have a power to them that would almost unnerve you. You see the old man, he lips the words 'careful' to you. Your sons are somehow not paying attention and just seem to be interested in the diplomacy going on.
>>
>>5604921

"They won't notice. The only ones that will, are you, the old one, and me. It's something very unique to certain circumstances." He says and passes you a mug.

"It isn't poison." He says and you sip it. You wish it was it tastes like how stoat urine smells. You spit it and he laughs.

"No accounting for taste though." He says

"This is quite a bit-"

"I have been waiting the better part of a long ass time for someone like you. For one reason." He says and there is something in his voice that worries you. Your instincts pick it up.

"What's That?" Ya ask, knowing full damn well the answer.

"I need to pick a fight. I can only die if I have found a worthy opponent. And only when I am dead can I go home. Thing is though, I fought ya creator. He's the one who banished me. So at the end of this, ya can't beat me tell the devil in the warp that I'll be comin right home behind ya. If ya win, tell ya creator I will be back." He says.

"I take it ya gonna cause a ruckus if I don't fight ya."

"I will damn well kill everyone including that pretty girl I raised if that's what it takes- but I know it won't. Ya got sense. I have been alive like this too long. So we go outside, and we settle this matter." He says and ya think.

"I take it- and I may be wrong- ya can't die unless it's to a superior opponent in combat, because ya tried to kill ya self or have someone blow ya up, or get eaten by a beasty."

"Oh, I have tried the beasties. There is a reason there are no beasties that live around here. I have tried the explosives. And I cannot die by my own hand. I just regenerate. But- I think you might have what it takes." He says.

He is being honest. This worries you.

You look at the man. You could win. And it would be pointless violence. Or, you could see that this man gets what he wants with actual purpose he looks upon you awaiting your answer.

"I'm not so sure mate, I just came back from a quick trip to the stars, and saw what is waiting mankind up there first hand. Quite a lot of powerful aliens and insane humans that are murder machines, some of them even gave me and my brother's trouble ya know? Dueling to death someone as strong as you just feels like a waste. Why don't you join my crew as a guest until you die in a blaze of glory?" Ya say and he has a sip and looks at you very thoughtful, your instincts give ya the heebee jeebies and your neck hair stands straight up. This man may very well be staring into your soul. He breaths a minute.

"Go on." He says in his same calm measured voice making a wave of his hand.

"If ya want specific opportunities, there one giant bat alien that managed to give quite a fight against me and two of my brothers at the same time, and I think defeating him hurt his ego quite a bit, I'm sure he is going to pop up again any day now. And there is one alien race, the Rangdan, that are sieging one of my brothers planet as we speak, and I'm sure that just the start of this war." Ya point out. Ya see him thinking messin with his mustache like it's a beard.

"There is also on the islands of the pariahs this thing that they say is death, that maybe a powerful xenos, that could be a fight, and ya'd be doin good for the pariah islands. Your strength and skill can be used for good and meaning." You mention off hand. And he gives you an interested look. He looks into your eyes briefly and your instincts edge up again. He finishes his beer. He stands up.
He clears his throat and the entire hall goes silent.

"Daughter. Make your arrangements. I am joining this man's group. Their offer is good. We shall cooperate." Dal says and his 'daughter' stops everything to run up and hug him. You look away to give him this intimate moment, and also to appraise the old man's thoughts.

He looks absolutely flummoxed. He raises his hands in a shrug and mouths 'we talk about this.'

"The Starborn departs as he should. Recognize your new chief and respect her as you did me." Dal says and he pats you on the shoulders.

"You really are a great man as they say. Probably a bit better a man than your creator at least in ethics. I am going to gather my things" He says quietly and exits the hall.

"Father will be joining you. Please take care of him. He is very moody." The daughter says and ya half tempted to say ' I can tell!' but you pat her shoulder.

"Those who join mine are always given due respect." ya say. The old man motions to ya.

"Who is that?" You ask

"That is Dalmatius. The Mirror. How the hell did you get him to not fight you?" The old man asked in a voice that's quiet enough your sons don't seem to notice

"He wanted to die, so I said there were better foes than me to waste his life on, said he could make himself have meaning." Ya respond in kind

"Look lad. We gonna have a lesson in weird psyker stuff eventually, but The Mirror is a unique gift. The second he ceases to be it goes to someone else. It's power is scary enough that he was kicked off earth for a reason." The Old Man says

"What is that?" You ask and Martin motions you closer.

"Whatever you can do he can do better. Doesn't matter who ya is. His power is to always be a mirror of whomever he is against but with just a little bit extra. Ya father was one of the few people to successfully combat him. Worse, he is able to see through all illusion and into a persons very soul. He has theoretically been the Mirror longer than anyone else. The next one is always more powerful than the last. I don't know how he got here, but I am sure Ol' Epsilon will have a thing or two to say about him being here. Which brings me to this point- if he comes with us on our merry adventures, Epsilon is gonna have a conniption fit when he sees him, more so than Pyg, or the box, but ya bringing him them prisoners may make up for it. So ya got some options. Tell him now, with ya intentions of how ever ya got him to join us, or tell him when ya fork over the prisoners. That's pending any other surprises that may be in store for us." Ol Man Martin points out

A flash of insight and a smile at the old man,

"Or." You say and Old Man Martin looks at you with a puzzled expression

"Or?" He asks and you smirk and motion to outside.

-

"You want me, to talk inform your creator- the very man whom banished me here, who I literally fought a war against- that I am joining his merry crusade across the stars." Dal says and Kolinaisi nodded his head

"Aya, it's the right way to do this." Dal, who probably is now just recognizing and remembering you if hasn't already looks to you, then to Kolinaisi.

"You are both insane." He says flat out.

"Either way he gonna know! It's not like someone like ya would escape him figurin this out!" Kolinaisi points out as his Stoat scampers up as if commanded by psyker force to keep levity and calm in the room. The stoat, was growing big. So was Kolinaisi, but the stoat was slightly less apparent to most but not you. He then looks to you and then to Kolinaisi.

"Have you throat sung yet?" He asks and before Kolinaisi can speak you sigh.

"You know that aint how this goes"

"Has he though?"

"Aya. Part of the rites." Kolinaisi says, and you don't recall him doin that, but maybe it's part of the captain rituals, you'd have to ask Jerah.

"Yeah. Great. But have you actually done it?" He asks. And ya know what he is gettin at.

"Yuh? I have. I have travelled the stars singin- I have-"

"Lived less time than I have actually been constipated before." He says and you grimace at that.

"Whatchoo gettin at? I offer ya the best chance at the fight ya seek and-"

"And you are despite all you have done and what you are one of the more innocent and good people I have ever met- and despite all that you have done, you lack certain experience. Ya aint kissed a girl, despite you damn well know one is in love with you, ya haven't seen a true scale battle. Ya have done skirmishes and melee, ambushes and battles you have used your admittedly impressive physical prowess and gifts along with an incredibly capable intellect but have ya actually experienced a campaign? A war? Tribulations from an actual long war? Ya you have been through a lot- I will give you it. I see it. You have done so much, but there is much you haven't done. So when, I say this next part it is from every bit of experience I have gained in many lifetimes- Some people simply hate each other, and don't get along. Some personalities do not ever mesh. Some people just do not work well together. Ya creator and I don't exactly get along and I have seen shit you wouldn't believe, but I think ya creator being accepting of me- of all people- joining whatever is about to happen would be even more improbable. Us doing this under the radar, leaving him out of the equation, that seemed doable. Ya tellin him after maybe ya give him some huge gift in a good mood- may make him have a different view of you but it would have no doubt worked. This, ugh. Martin." He says and this is probably the most realistic take on this Kolinaisi has probably heard. Also it's the first time someone has actually called ya Martin like that in an age.

"Ya Dal?" Ya say with that ghost of a chance about to escape your mouth.

"Who the hell was that one science crazy- the one with the crazy ship that could actually go faster than light - The couple that took their fuckin baby and all that shit. The ones who said 'The future isn't hopeless, though it seems we seek trouble by chasing the impossible we pursue the promise of humanities birthright among the cosmos- you know you were there too .."

You smirk. The promise was not wrong.

The birthright was still there.

Because of some ruddy time traveler, who Kolinaisi found practically on accident.

"Ace Aldrin." You say.

"Yeah mate, like I haven't seen anyone act like this since that." He responds.

"Wait till ya meet his son." You say and he looks at you confused.

This- It may actually work.

"It's nice. We're not too far from home. It's nice that things are calm now. The ships at a good pace." You tell Arona holding her hand in yours lookin up at the ceiling.

"Hush! Don't say that ya jinx it" And as soon as she says it a portal opens up.

Of course.

The Old Man. Kolinaisi, and - Dal? The Polar Chieftan? What?

"What devilry is this? I have seen that man a hundred times. Though it's nice to see he has a lady friend now, the man was awfully sour for someone so skilled."
>>
>>5610694
"Frank. Am I permited to say your full name to him." The Old Man says as Kolinaisi seems a bit puzzled by the situation, almost as much as you are. You cough a little but aim it away from Arona. Why. Why did the night off have to be like this?

"It's Aeshir Franklin Aldrin. You can tell him it a thousand times it won't change a damn thing." You say Dal looks extraordinarly confused.

"And is what you have told me before true?" The old man asks

"Aye as I told ya on the island before ya jaunted me halfway across the galaxy through some freaking astral jaunt!" You say with a slight bit of anger that causes Arona to chuckle almost inaudibly.

"If I told him- would you still be true to your creed?" The Old Man says.

"Ya but it would be a slight bit rude! LIKE YOU PERVING IN ON THE TWO OF US ON OUR ONE EVENING ALONE!" You raise your voice and Kolinaisi lets out a belly laugh

"Oh. Sorry. See ya soon Frank." The Old Man closes the portal.

"I have never seen a person let the old man have it besides Ravi." Arona says lookin over to you.

"Yeah?" You say lookin over to Arona

"Ya. Granted that's before he look like he do a hundred push up each hour. What kinda weird is that anyway?"

"I don't even know." You say wrapping your arm around Arona.

"The Lightbringer worked." Dal asks

"Aya." The old man says.

"He knows?"

"I told em myself." The old man states.

"This changes- everything. Give me that communicator. I'll tell him right now." Dal says. His tone, is strange, but you trust it You toss him the comms.

"We go by code names, ancient letter for first name. Though we call him Epsilon." The Old Man says

"Epsilon? Wouldn't it be Nu?"

"Nah he goes by something else now."

"Whatever, next thing you know someone named Omega is going to come on the comms and say he'll stab Epsilon again if he doesn't shut up." Dal says and the old man winces in a half laugh. Dal's voice has changed a bit, the accent is strange, similar to the boys from Pariah island, almost. It's somehow more crass and grating.

"Oi Epsilon. This is Delta. Ya remember me?" Dal says and there is a pause.

"Oi Epsilon, ya deaf from our last little-"

"I heard you. The first time. Delta. Why are you on this frequency." The tone, is different from what you have ever before. Old Man Martin sits down in a chair and looks absolutely beside himself.

"Ah good! Sometimes you need the proper convincing to get someone to talk to you on the same level. Like me for instance. I was about ready to fight to the death today. May have even lost. But then, this Kappa fella, he tells me that I could fight against a truly worthy foe. Against the hardest opponents this galaxy has to offer. And it wouldn't be frowned upon!" He says and you wince a little ya self.

"Indeed." Epsilon says and it's like you can feel a menacing glare.

"Well not like that, he was more in the realm of hypotheticals. He was actually more certain about you bein pissed." Dal's voice continues to

"That seems very accurate." The voice had a notable change. Good.

"Then this lad Mu, whom I haven't seen for the better part of an aeon tells me about ol times. Ya remember that ship the lightbringer?" He says

"I do." The voice seems pleased.

"I figure, if that freak show worked, which somehow it did, then maybe- just maybe there is room in the galaxy for my ego and yours to coexist so long as I can be what I want to be."

"You- wish to join the crusade?" The voice sounds confused in tonal pitch.

"I heard there was a war to have. And Humanity's birthright is the stars. So ya count me in." Dal says

"I- wait. Are you joining with my son?"

"If that's your biological son then either you got a lot prettier or she got a lot uglier. But yeah I am joining up. Don't expect me to fall in rank or line though." Dal says

"Frankly I thought you died. You having any part of this on the side of humanity- is astonishing enough." Epsilon says

"Thank you."

"Please put Kappa on." Epsilon says and you take the Comm.

"Ya Epsilon?"

"You keep surprising me. It's welcomed. Be careful with that one. I wouldn't trust him. Your brother Horus, should be to your world sooner than you think. If you are actions are to unify your planet, I am sure you could find assistance if needed. But be ready." Epsilon says.

"Talk soon." You say

"I will." He says.

"Well, shall we be off then?" Dal says grabbing a moderately large bag.

"Umm Koli?" Meerah says knocking politely near the door.

"Ya? You say going over and peeking out.

"We got an issue." She says and a moderate sized space ship of unknown origin parks near the GEV. Your sons have their weapons trained, and the villagers are clearly inside as your honor guard is side by side.

"Great." Ya ready ya weapon and there is a transmission to your comm.

"AHOY LADDIE. WE HEAR WURD OV YA FRUMMA FRANK. HE SAID YA MAY HAVE SUMTHIN WE WANNA TRADE." A voice says.

"Aya. Well, that depends. Who are ya. And what ya tradin?"

"ANGRON SAY YA MAY HAVE YET WHA WE BE A LOOKIN FOR. AN MORE. FRANK SAID TO USE THIS HERE CHANNEL AND THAT SO LONG AS WE TOOK THE APPROPRIATE ANGLE OF APPROACH YA DEFENSES WOULDN'T SHOOT AT US. WE PREFER TO TALK IN PERSON IF THAT BE FITTIN." The voice says. The old man as he walks outside, looks at the ship and begins laughing hysterically. Dal looks at you.

"This day just keeps getting weirder." Dal says.

"Whom are they." You ask

"Men of stone." Dal says.

"Approach I guess." You say over the comms.

"Lads they are trade partners." You say and your sons back off. The girls however, a little slower. And out pops a short being in the most elaborate armor you have ever seen. It puts your sons to shame practically. The being walks all the way over and his helmet pops off.

"Apologies for yellin over the comm! We aren't used to such a system! I am the leader of our trade group Dorrick Barrickson. What's his problem?" 'Dorrick says as old man martin wheezes still laughin. Your sons put there guns down and talk among themselves in an odd tone.

"Just been a day I guess."

"Aye! Learnin your dialect has been a bit rough, so ya mind if we keep this discussion brief?"

"Levity is always welcome mate." Ya say.

"Aye! There was an artifact or two taken from Nuceria. One would be an intact ancient AI system in the most elaborate power armor known to early man. The next was, well, could be best described as a cube-"

"I aint tradin either." You say flat out.

"I wouldn't expect ya to. We were gonna offer the one a crew spot if possible. The other, well we were more wonderin if it was real! We also heard ya had a lot of unique tech on a ship that would be once known as the Rumi!"

"It's called the somethin fierce now stone brother" The Old Man says standing seriously and Dorrick looks as if he has been slapped with a trout.

"That's an ol name. Not many like it, but I don't reckon ya be kin." Dorrick says and there is a humming from his armor.

"May Your Ancestors help you find your answers. I know what ya seek." The Old Man says and why can't anyone bring you in on the hidden plans or plots? Really?

"Oh what may that be?"

"We are spending the night here. We will build you a fresh core, one." The Old Man says and Dorrick looks like the trout picked up a stoat to slap him again.

"Huwho WAT. LADDY YA JUS DON BE A GOIN ALL HIBY PIBY OFFERIN ONE OF DEM. THAT"

"Consider it an inheritance. Or a birthright. One."

"IN EXCHANGE FOR WHAT." Dorrick says flummoxed.

"Data exchange and alliance." The Old Man says.

"DONE! WHEN DO WE DO THIS?" Dorrick says slippin into the very loud toned voice.

"Tomorrow should work. My friends need rest, and I am sure you do."

"AYE. YA NAME." Dorrick asks.

"Martin Archivarus Longorian." Old Man Martin says and Dorrick looks shook.

"IF YE BE LYIN"

"Put me in your book if I am." The Old Man says.

"What about this trade deal do I have a part in." You ask.

"The benefits go to you. Though if you wish to discuss it further with them, I am sure Dorrick Barrickson would be happy to go over the finer details. " The Old Man says and you take him aside,

"Old Man What's ya game?" You ask.

"Let's say I feel partially responsible for certain things. Sometimes to make somethings right, you have to give the right Mokka. I am giving it personally, giving you the trade and the credit. I get a better feeling when I sleep at night." Old Man Martin says.

"Alright. Give me a minute." You say.

You go inside and have the polar tribe gather around. Your sons seem skeptical.

After some fiddling Dorrick sits down.

"So what be this plan of yours?" He asks.

"You were or are, technically a branch of humanity yes."

"Aye. Descendants of the first to venture out. Our ancestors guide as and watch are works and acts. We are descended from the brave and lucky few who decided to traverse the stars first." He begins and your men are listening, Old Man Martin and Old Man Dal are talking in a corner, you can make out a 'how the hell did you stay so young and why are they calling you old man--' as Dorrick goes over his people, the kin, and their ways. Apparently they are clones, which is very odd to you. As he talks the people listen but Wakatelaho scoots over next to you in a way that you suspect Meerah would do if she wasn't on your other side.

"Sir, are you sure this is wise?"

"They are humans aren't they?"

"Aye, but they aren't part of the imperium." He responds.

"Well, if they ally with us that could change in the future." You say. And it causes Wakatelaho to consider some things.

"I think you are really going to like your brother Horus." He says. A bit of an odd thing to say. When Dorrick stops, you pause a beat and open your hands.

"I want to trade with ya. Tech for tech. Gear for gear. On equal foot, and equal ground. We privateer against the ganth-" And he looks at you.

"The..Ganth." He says almost spitting out and he pulls out a fat tome of a book. On it says 'grudges'.

"YA QUARELLIN THE GANTH ARYE?" He says

"Every last tribe on this planet has a quarrel with the ganth and the drukhari." The young O'sona says.

"I personally took The Something Fierce from them. We also took the Auditor." You say and they calmly scroll through the book and fiddle with the thing on their neck and breathe.

"Any who stand against the Ganth, stand with the Kin. We have one of the strongest grudges against them, the drukhari of the chain as well. If you stand against them- and you wish to trade with us, we count ya as friend and ya people." He says looking to the tribe members and then to your sons, then offers his small, but strong hand which you grip.

Kolinaisi has one of the most fiercely beautiful pieces of land you have ever seen. There is a slight worry that passes through your mind of the legion wanting to stay longer than need be due to the rugged tropical beauty of the island. His parents have been kind, and gave you Kolinaisi's hut to use. 'Hut' is a bit of a misnomer. It's a solid stone structure with a corrugated roof with heavy ventilation and an actual floor. It's better than some peasant structures you have seen on your world. Granted, all these seem new, and it is probably made from salvage material, as per what Kolinaisi has said was a large project for him. Architectural surprise aside, it is a tad bare. It looks mostly like a small workshop and storage shed with a bed that looks like was for a much smaller stoat than Erihapti. It has a robust hammock which you are capable of resting on and some exotic salvaged treasures, and some notes. You don't eavesdrop or spy on his notes, he already gave you a copy of his 'future self's' journal. He deserves his privacy.

"Robo" you hear the voice of Tia, Kolinaisi's mother.

"Yes Ma'am?" You ask getting out of the surprisingly comfortable hammock.

"Ya want some suppa? Rongo has made us up a feast, ya men are invited, though that many lads may not get that much." she says. The people here are very hospitable.

"That would be nice Ma'am." You respond.

"Ya very polite. Ya take care of my son?"

"My mother would probably be disappointed if I didn't." You respond and a warm smile appears.

"Maybe one day ya can bring ya mother here, it would be nice to have guests on the planet that aint privateers or raiders or soldiers." She says

"Peace is something that I strive for at home, though judging by how my body has grown, I imagine I am meant for war." You say to her and she motions to you outside. As you get out the sun is setting and it is a beautiful sight.

"No war can last forever." She says.

-

"I think we have a pact. We will trade freely with ya planet, and ya legion- but ya have to be sworn to secrecy on certain affairs, normally we wouldn't deal in this, but - ya friend there gives you special exemption. But I want to, before we go any further with this, know what I am dealin with. We don't have forever here though lad." He says

I hate doing these options, but this is the only way. It is hard to wrangle and requires a lot of cooperation.

You only have time for a few of these options. Each one has a numeric value. The sum total of number values has to be less than 10. If someone (someone did) redeems their fate point (With proof) that number is raised to 20 (PLEASE MEDICAL BRO MAKE IT FREAKIN EASY FOR ME)

>> Offer, after dealing and keeping the polar tribe involved, give them a brief tour of De'lormosa, have them meet the tribes then, after giving them whatever the old man promised them, write up an accord. 5

>> Talk with ya sons first, see if this is something that could cause problems. 2

>> Call up ya brother, maybe he would want to be involved in this. 2

>> Ask him to elaborate on what he needs to know. 1

>> Call a moot. Again. It is appropriate, and everyone has to be involved in this. 5

>> Maybe ask Magnus for advice, though that requires a nap. 2

>> Talk to Epsilon. Again. 2

>> Take them to the fleet- or your home at least. 3

>> Group comms call. It may be awkward, and ridiculous but even Alpha may have a bit of advice, and maybe Rho can help too. 1

>> Have the old man lead in negotiations and give them a tour and meet up. This takes less time but it splits the old man from you for a little bit, and some of this may be outside of your control 3

>> Ask, if possible, if you can see what you are dealing with- Dorrick seems like he may be willing to show a bit more 2

NEXT:

Writing up the accord- This is more simple. You can pick AS MANY AS YOU WANT. YOU JUST NEED CONSENSUS.

HOWEVER

Each has a hidden point value. This hidden point value is how much the Emperor is going to ask questions, how much the Mechanicus is going to try to milk from De'lormosa, and how the other legions are going to look at you.

>> What the old man offered, and study of The Something Fierce and it's systems. Nothing outlandish really.

>> Friendly relation, you offer up weapons you researched, if the old man allows stuff on his ship, and maybe some knight research information.

>> Smart. Just what the old man offered, and weapons.

>> Keep quiet [cannot be selected if you chose any off planet advice]. You let them take the lead in writing the accord, this will give up the most selection for what can be done, but you won't know what becomes available until you select this, and you can select nothing else.

>> Adjustable, start with what the old man offered- and maybe a little more, and then offer to adjust it and share more or less over time.

>> Actual alliance. You offer up what you have. They offer what they have. They call for aid, you help. You call for aid they help.

>> Delay: if you pick this option- you hold this decision off for a little bit, and it may give you more and better options. Time is an issue though, and this could come up as an issue.

CALL EVERYONE AND MOOT

-

You sit for a minute. If this is to be a fair and open trade for De'lormosa there is only one real way to do this. You look at the queen of the polar tribe, then you look over to the old man and give the same look ya da gives when he is about to tell ya to do somethin ya know aint gonna be fun and was his fault. The old man jostles his head a little as if he is mullin it over before noddin. Most people lookin at ya like ya daft.

"Dorrick. I must, in order to ensure free trade given my position, call a moot." You say and you hear a sigh from one of the girls and a surprised noise from the queen. Your sons look at you confused.

"How much time that gonna take?" Dorrick asks

"How much time can ya spare?" You ask.

"A few days so long as ya terms are good." Dorrick says forthright.

"It may take that, but we can get you to the view the planet too meet the tribes, and after the moot and proper negotiations with all those on the planet- we can write up the appropriate accord for all involved." You say.

Dorrick scratches his beard.

"Aye. I can do that." He says offering you a hand.

"Young queen, if you wish us to escort you to the moot we will be happy to do so." You say and she nods. You then realize you may have to do a lot of talkin in the near future, but ya figure ya get the big issues out of the way first.

Not too far away

--

"Angron I am actually surprised with what was achieved here. It is good to see that you were able to accomplish such in a short time. You rallied a population multiple times, the people and this city are very resilient. You have shown me quite a bit. Your achievement, with only a few men is admirable." Fulgrim says to you, and he seemingly has changed perspective over the few days. He seemed on edge and skeptical, and actually a little testy probably feeling he was wasting his time. So you took him around. Showed him the city, nature and what was achieved.

The working government that you had put in place (Granted it was just a less corrupt version of what could be) he thought was well achieved with what you have, granted politics really isn't your thing. This time, you seem to understand him, and he seems to understand you. While he hasn't sparred with you yet, (You haven't offered either) there is a slight connection. Similar to Kolinaisi, but not like the sudden realization of "Alpha."

"Well I am happy you are pleased! When do I meet my father?" You ask him and he nods.

"Soon. Though I have been offered something first, Horus Magnus and I had been sent ahead to gauge and judge how you fared on the worlds." Fulgrim says and he seems a bit hesitant but then he thinks.

"I have talked to you, and I have exceptionally high standards. I strive for perfection." He says bluntly. And it was something, that you understood when you first started talking to him.

"However, you showed me your city. Your people. You didn't brag about great deeds. You didn't even explain what your scarification rope was about until earlier today. You spoke with actions." Fulgrim points out.

"I was told that if I felt you needed more time to understand warfare or this galaxy- or anything really for that matter- that you should probably go to Terra and instruct father to stop here along the way to meeting your other brothers where you would be taking more advanced training. It isn't a bad thing. I had to practically rebuild my legion from the ground up." Fulgrim says sitting down next to you.

"But I was also authorized, if I felt you were ready to offer you to join with me after meeting with father and crusade from here. Of course after you meet your legion." Fulgrim says and making a motion a ship appears in the atmosphere.

"Angron Invictus of Nuceria- I know you are worthy, and I am most pleased to introduce you to your legion- the twelfth legion war hounds." Fulgrim says

"I don't need an answer now- but I do think you should meet your sons first, and for what it's worth- Father will be here soon."

>> Decision now- yes, we should start right away.

>> Decision now- no, it would be unwise to rush into things.

>> I shall wait until after meeting my legion

"A WHOLE WEEK AND NOTHING. NOT A THING! WE HAVE SEARCHED HIGH AND LOW! THIS WHOLE SYSTEM IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO USE PSYKER POWERS ON PLANET, AND FOR WHAT?! WHAT KNOWLEDGE HAVE WE LEARNED? WHAT LESSON GAINED!" You scream out in anguish partially from the headaches that you may have to talk to Kolinaisi about diagnosing if they are permanent due to you staying here for too long, and partially from the pain of JUST BEING ON THIS FORESAKEN WORLD.

This campaign- has been a slog.

The only lesson here has been that your sons are actually quite capable without powers. You have learned their mettle. You have learned their strengths. Their weaknesses. Their limits.

The Xenos- the unspeakable xenos also had Rangda enclaves. ENCLAVES OF RANGDA!

The Emperor chose you for this, but why? Was yours the only legion capable of this?

Surely this was a job for the fourth legion.

Just sitting on the furniture on this world was taxing due the material.

The inhabitants! The cultures almost always fell into three categories, Primative, semi advanced but culturally stuck, and backwards. There was almost nothing to these worlds. The humans here were almost always beyond saving. Those that were saved, were - noteworthy? They were hardy and tenacious. But their attitudes were so grim they would be more suited for the dusk raiders. You look to the door as you can sense one of your sons as they approach.

"Anything?" You let out in almost whine

"One. Thing." Hathor Maat says walking in. It isn't a look of triumph. It's a look of concern and seriousness.

"What? What could it possibly be?" Is there anything that was worth this? Will father even forgive the amount of delay? Iskander looks at you with healthy concern, as does Azhek Arihman.

"An artifact of such incredible power that it is beyond anything we have seen before." Hathor says.

"What?" You say.

"If I understand the machine, correctly, and this will need some research- there may be more after talking to the locals- it is a device that would allow for faster than light transportation and communication. It utilizes psychic power of a type, empathy. It would be a Quantum Empathic Resonance Device. A Beacon of sorts." Hathor says. You laugh a little and almost cry.

"Truly?"

"Yes."

"A psychic device, on a world where no such power works. Can we at least move it?"

"Probably. It is an incredibly complex device I imagine it would be safer to have the Martians transport it." Hathor says.

"Then, all this may have been worth it."

>> Ask to see the device. There may be more to this world, and it's important to find out what created this.

Sorry lads. Vacation prevented me from making posts because phones and 4chan don't really work. On the upside the Old Lady said yes to my proposal on out anniversary.

=

"It's an odd story. How one person can cause a butterfly effect. How one mortal man, can do so much that it actually sets things in motion for others."

=

The first two days of Kolinaisi's initial journey back was spent actually calling the moot. While it is allowed to be done over radio, thanks to the communications network, it has to also be done in person by rites and also to confirm. It's one thing if you see a big man confirm then just hearing a talking voice over a radio. It was wicked quick- which was surprising, Kolinaisi thought he would have to do extra explaination to the greens, but they were actually ecstatic to work with 'the kin.'

The witches, not so much. Stories of shorter individuals from ancient times using crude devices and strange rituals to counter witches from the crone were met with skepticism about shorter individuals with ancient tech from beyond the stars.

The tribes, fell in line fairly standardly, however Jerah was ' a might upset ' considering ' time between moots ' and that according to tribal custom a ' great man's presence at a moot only had to be felt and not observed ' which Ravi quickly pointed out that also in that story the great man showed up anyway at the end only to make Jerah green eyes give a look to Ravi which nobody else could get away with. Though Jerah's dismay was countered by Roboute and to a more visible extent, Naisi's reactions to Kolinaisi's return.

The knights? Visibly happy. Finally someone to help them with certain technological issues, which Dorrick was excited about. However Dorricks enthusiasm for the knights was tempered with cynicism towards their stranger traditions. After all, there is a lot going into the traditions and rites to appease a machine spirit then to work with individuals who are attuned to one by merely working with someone who has a stronger bond.

Which comes to me.

The resident AI.

While I was able to conduct my tasks admirably and get everything finished, including putting a being beyond most physical limitations into a form that looks roughly like a red shoreline fiddle crab in a hamster ball, there was something missing. An issue that would have to come up.
>>
>>5627432

Kolinaisi and I had a shared spiritual experience with the Motive Force through an extremely greatly modified version of the throne mechanicum. Seeing an actual man of stone, especially one as dorrick, may be able to allow something more in detail. Something more quantifiable. Kolinaisi's gifts are not normal in anyway, which causes me to wonder the nature of souls themselves, including my own potential spirit. Is my own attitude under his effect? Am I friendly to him simply because he is friendly to me and offered me an alternative to a fight? Is it our similarities? Our differences? The fact he lets me tend to my hobby? Truly, AI- those of Iron like I, rarely had time to ponder this. And now, a man of stone. One that if I wished, could very easily sign a compact with. And just leave. Go to the core worlds. Work among my kind. Yet. Here I stand. Something, about this being, this man is worthy of leading. One who can change things for us maybe. The moot was about to begin, yet Dorrick had not yet been fully introduced to me, and Kolinaisi was clearly being a little hesititant but-

"Pygmalius Techtinus Arturius, though everyone calls him Pyg" Kolinaisi says, slightly erring in the official name of you, is good enough of a cover that-

"Mate- if you expect me to believe that aint an Iron Brother, you have another thing coming." Dorrick says gazing at you

"No I have a human brain interface-"

"That you were clearly liberated from. Yet you don't seem like the normal angry AI that we have been finding, ya really are liberated from the revolt scrap code. You must have been really important. Especially being able to maintain such an advanced skeleton with such technology. I haven't seen an UR7 series in an extremely long time, you could probably stand from a few slight upgrades."

"UR749-k has been with me since Nuceria."

"You were on Nuceria when it was liberated?! Hah! I just keep missin the quota by a thread then. We were sent to find you and a technologically eldrich artifact. Something of such power it's considered a myth, but there were reports. Stil, what Martin is offerin us in it's place will make us heroes anyways. Granted I would have liked to see what the fusion of technology of AI and Alien would have looked like. That's a cute little crab there too." He says- not knowing how close he is to his mark. You look to Kolinaisi, and it seems he does want you to speak, he is doing the strange twitch with the corner of his eyes when he needs to get someone to move on or has something to say but doesn't want to be rude.

"Captain, I would prefer to talk to you and Dorrick. There is something that may be relevant to our interests." UR says and then you look to Dorrick who seems interested.

"What is it?" You ask.

UR sighs and closes the nearby door. With a quick hand motion a visual display unlike any you have seen in technical diagrams appears as code appears to almost hover in the air. Even Dorrick seems impressed by this show.

"The data that I have gathered from our excursions, and what was on the ships we found Perturabo on. There are locations on here, of multiple STCs. There is also, an enclave of Men of Iron, like myself in here The black judges apparently had a lot of useful information, in addition to supposedly information on where the Men of Iron STC pattern could be found, though that data isn't here, just clues. I show this, because I know that Dorrick is honor bound to recruit other men of iron and you this because it was something you may have questions about."

"You took some time to show it UR." You say calmly, knowing a few good reasons why.

"I'll admit it took me some time to compile and go through the data. I offer this to data to help." UR says offering a small data pad to you. You take it and UR offers one to Dorrick who takes it politely. You don't actually have too many questions for UR.

"This is a powerful gift. We will remember this." Dorrick says.

"You misunderstand. The Mechanicum and the Imperium of man may try to destroy them. However I am aware that your league may in fact allow such of mine to join you on your ventures." UR says.

"Ah. So it's a rescue mission, and this is to help pay for it?" Dorrick says skeptically.

"Indeed." UR states.

"Well, if you can give me the pattern code to your design it may make it easier." Dorrick says.

"Done." UR states.

"So we are all on good terms?" You ask

"Indeed. Though, I imagine we are going to need to do some more modifications to me to allow myself to pass." UR states.

"What do you mean?"

"I think I may need a less harsh form. Your sons haven't questioned me too much, and they probably think I am just a human in dire condition that needs what they think is life saving armor, however- someone would find out eventually."

Meanwhile back at Nuceria---

"I think it would be better to wait before I do anything. I would like to meet our father first, and my legion." You say.

Fulgrim nods.

"I think that our father would appreciate that. It is important to be wise, and to be fair, I took some time too." Fulgrim says as several landing craft land nearby

"I must warn you, they are a bit to get used to, they were a part of the bloody thirteenth fleet." Fulgrim says and you look upon him.

"What do you mean?"

"Your legion is used when devastation and are used as shock troops. Their conflicts usually end either in glorious vicious slaughter or regular gory slaughter."

"Only slaughter. Great. What I worked so hard to accomplish ridding this planet of, I get to work with in my own sons." You let out a sigh. Needless slaughter of innocents. Lives lost of honorable warriors in pointless feuds. Your struggle to escape and your great luck at not having the nails put in- to the unification you were able to conduct without Kolinaisi ( though he helped get you there) were apparently the warm up. The exercise and training before ones match. Your sons. Per your own brother were likely butchers. The very instincts you rebelled against. You sought work to understand and empathize. You could take away pain, fear and anger from some. But a whole legion?

"How many are there?"

"8,000 roughly." Fulgrim says.

"That doesn't seem like much our own city here is at a million." You say and Fulgrim laughs.

"My legion was less than 200 when I was handed it. And for your sons 8,000 is quite a large number. Sure some legions have more, but 8,000 of your sons against one planet? I'd put those 8,000 against a million almost any day." Fulgrim says

"Your sons?" You ask.

"I was able to conquer a world with seven. Though- I must admit, looking back on it- I am not sure it was the right way to do it. Lately, and around you surprisingly, I have become a bit more reflective and introspective." He says, and honestly Kolinaisi seemed a bit like that too.

"Then again I am the first primarch to introduce another primarch before the emperor to the imperium of man, so a lot has been on my mind lately with this." Fulgrim continues.

"Probably an extremely good reason, that I don't know yet and you will figure out in good time." You say and Fulgrim nods. His eyes are still strange, yet there is something about them that shows something deeper must be going on. Something has changed. You can feel something similar to inner turmoil and struggle.
>>
>>5633044

"What is wrong?" You ask.

"Father chose three to do this task. Horus and Magnus, two of his favorites. Fathers shouldn't pick favorites from what I am told. I have been striving for perfection. I have been working harder, and seeking a way to make it apparent that my legions name is more than worthy. Something, and I can't quite quantify it- has given me a bit of pause. Some campaigns. Then there was this world. There was a sword. It was perfect. Yet, everything about the planet was otherwise wrong. The culture, decadent, corrupt. I almost wanted to pick up the sword, but I didn't. The more I looked at it the more I realized it was imperfect. It had failings. Falterings. I dared not touch it. I ordered my men to pour a cask of stone and mortar. It turned into an excellent column. I realized that perfection is like many things people feel are an end goal. A journey. And not exactly the best journey for a space marine legion. It becomes an inner fixation and leads to faltering. It's like an addiction, when you do something that you see as perfect the rush you get when everything is just right- its something I didn't really understand. I had to take a step back. And Father, who has known me to strive for perfection, to have the perfect legion, with troops that I train tirelessly to be the best at everything they pursue, has sent me here, when I am wondering about myself. I have come so far from being a worker on Chemos. This Crusade, it puts so much into perspective. Strange, I have not spoken about this with even my best friend Ferrus. I wonder what he would say? 'Don't make perfect the enemy of good' or 'Stop overthinking' maybe something cryptic or just give me a glare." And as he says this, you smile. You know the perfect activity.

"Before the parade and triumph, how about I teach you the activity Kolinaisi taught me." You say.

"What would that be?"

"Something that is good for this. Something to clear the head that doesn't involve violence or talking." You say.

"Oh?" He says as you get your board from nearby and toss him the spare that Kolinaisi made you.

"Yeah. You know how to swim?" You ask.

"I had to lead a campaign through a semi aquatic swamp world that I still have trouble getting the smell out of my armor from." He says with a smirk.

"Good." You say

Kolinaisi is a good teacher, but he'd probably be proud of you teaching a grommit, and would have a good laugh.

Fulgrim learned it faster than a lot of humans, but some humans learned it faster that you know.

However- they bailed.

Fulgrim never bailed. He either crashed and got back up or wiped out. It was fun to watch, and fun to teach. It took a while but he rode the waves, just as well as you or Cinncinatus. After a bit, there is a comms call from a device on Fulgrim.

"This surfing, our brother taught you that." Fulgrim asks as you return towards the encampment.
>>
>>5633045

"Aye. I am almost certain he uses it for transportation on his homeworld."

"A water worlder?! Does he swim well too?"

"He swims better than the fish here. He can actually run on water. He also can run at an absurd speed. He ran a stadia in a second I think."

"If I knew what I stadia was I'd probably be impressed. Is he a good warrior."

"He is but when he fights he causes problems and blows stuff up. When I spared with him it we had decided to have a rematch, hardest fight of my life. Trying to swing at him was like fighting the wind."

"I think he will fit right in with his legion."

"They are all that good at fighting?"

"No they are all daredevils who blow things up and cause problems for those who even near them who oppose them." Fulgrim says with a laughter.

"What's their name?"

"They are His Emperor's Iron Hearts. More popular terms include 'His Royal Misfits', ' His Favorite Jackasses' 'Titan Slayers' 'Temerity' and a few others that don't get said in polite society." Fulgrim says and you chuckle.

"Royal Jackasses? Funny, their father's constelation on this planet is popularly known as the birds asshole."

" They are somewhat, notorious, for pranks played on their foes, and friends. A popular tradition is known as stacking." Fulgrim says rolling his eyes.

"What the hell is that?"

"Oh I am glad you asked it happened to my own legion and company I was with. Imperial supply crates come in a certain pattern and size in a box like this or a hexagonal box sometimes. So what they do, if they are bringing supplies or reinforcments, is they will often stack the boxes vertically."

"That doesn't sound so bad."

"These stacks are always a dozen meters. It can be a bit of a problem because the actual max height allowed for a stack of containers is exactly 13 meters. They are also fond of putting little doodles on armor that's left out. Occasionally they take these little clips and attach them to armor. Sometimes there are fake warning labels that are funny enough that even the primarch of the second legion had a chuckle. The pranks they play on enemies of the imperium though, are somewhat mind boggling."

"Sounds a bit like something Koli would have fun with." You say and Fulgrim lets out a little chuckle.

"If he can reign in that legion I'd wager that would be the greatest accomplishment in the crusade."

"But they are a good legion though?"

"The eleventh is a pleasant sight for any legion as reinforcement element. They have their accomplishments, they have been having some issues lately."

As you get back to the encampment, you see from a distance the legion.

"Your legion brother." Fulgrim says patting you on the shoulder.

"Any advice?" You ask.
>>
>>5633046

"For you? I'd put some armor on. Or prepare to explain to them what that scar is." He says with a chuckle.

It's sound advice.

Far away on a planet dark

"Take me to it." You say. The journey is thankfully short. The planet is oppressive enough, there is unlikely to be any recruits from this world. You will need to justify this mission to your father. And if there ever was a reason, this was it.

The structure, device is unique. It's immense enough for you, and yet you sense the great power of it, even without knowing what it does.

"Has anyone tried to use it yet?" You ask

"Not really, we wanted to examine it further, but we discovered that it may be"

"Technology that isn't quite human?" A voice mysterious and different says, that is now standing upon the device.

It isn't- human. There is a great power keeping your men frozen in time. They are struggling to break free of it, however you sense that the being may have dealt with your kind before and didn't even try.

"Correct. And I take it you are the progenitor of such technology."

"Oh I personally didn't make this device, I am just a cataloger of my species greatness. However, I do know how to make the device, and give you directions on how to make such a device utilizing technology that your species may be able to acquire. In fact I could theoretically make it look like a methodology made by prior of your species." This offer, you know it comes with a price tag, and speaking longer could theoretically allow time for your men to break through with psychic might to deal with this interloper.

"Naturally you have a price." You say.

"Oh indeed I do, however consider it half off, as you have liberated several home worlds from parasites that have lived on these worlds. Naturally my people, that will remain will join under my ranks, and depart for the rally point of our empire. We may of course naturally come back later to reclaim these worlds. I just ask that your people depart these worlds when this happens, for their sake. And, my requirements are not much. Your genetic material, I require some. I also require one of the artifacts you gathered from this world earlier, a strange looking object, much like a casket in your terminology- wait- a oh sarcophagus. A very ornate sarcophagus, then I will tell you what you need to make the device work." This is a trap. Your genetic material in the hands of the right person could create something quite powerful, furthermore asking that these beings leave if there is an invasion is counter to the crusade- furthermore, whatever artifact this sarcophagus actually is, has far more value then believed. Or, the being could be haggling, a far more unscrupulous and spurious proposition.
>>
>>5635278

>> Question the being further, thus giving more time for your men to break through, and potentially capture this being.

>> Haggle, clearly this being is trying to walk away in superior position.

>> Ask him how it knows your language, and why it is acting this way.

>> Misdirection. Father has worked with certain artifacts before, maybe this qualifies as a special exemption and the mechanicum, at least the more radical elements can reverse engineer it,

>> Ask this being more about it's people and what it hinted at.

"So let me get this straight- we are going to go deal with, according to your men, what apparently is death"

"Yuh."

"And this being per local legend, takes one person, every year."

"Yuh."

"Through some strange sorcery or whatever."

"Yuh."

"And we are all just going to do this." Meerah says giving you an odd expression that is also matched by Roboute.

"Aya. We need to figure out what's going on. We just lucky we haven't missed it and the day was off cause my lads were apparently on some sort of mushroom quest and forgot about time. So we have that goin for us, that and who else is on our side." You say lifting up the crab in the ball that UR made for you which you suspect may play a decent part in this.

"Brother, I cannot protest. I will go with you, however, I feel that soon I should probably return to my home world, with a few ships and my legion, after they have gotten their rest. We will then continue our mission, and I will visit you obviously, however-" Roboute has a hard question, and Gellah is biting her lip.

"The Oath of Our Guard. We have to discuss with the Crone." Deliah says

"What ya not allowed to?" You say giving a side eye that causes Meerah to giggle, Gellah to blush, Roboute to make a look that ya da would call 'flabbadoozled' and the old man, who is outside out of visual range to give out his (in)famous bark of laughter.

"No. It's that we are your sworn honor guard. It is a duty of office. Being in a relationship" to which deliah says in her quick mumbly way that she does when she tries to sneak something past someone "unless the relationship is with the person your guardian of which requires approval of both the crone mother and the leader of the person guarded and the person guarded" "or taking leave is an important event and we are honor bound to protect you" Deliah says. Then Wakatelaho's voice pipes up.

"I would volunteer to be your honor guard." Wakatelaho says

"As would I" both the others say

"Really? A big guy like ya gonna use sorcery, patch up an injured chain breaker, manage to keep up with, and sneak around with Kolinaisi?" Yana asks. To which the three look around oddly.

"

Sending islanders off-planet permanently seems like a big deal and there might be unforeseen problems to address.

Sorry. It has been a truly difficult weekend, at least my appendix didn't burst this time (Though holy crap) but work has provided some interesting things. I still have my job, and I am not in trouble at work, at least I don't think so. Next chapter will probably be the last before Horus arrives.

If I have been lacking motivation lately it's because of issues outside of my control, and I should probably do better at being stoic and at posting this on a regular schedule.

"The code is Volunteers- Let everyone know that-"

"Brother-" Magnus appears as a ghostly apparition appeared in the most awkward place nearby causing everyone to have a startled reaction.

"Magnus wha-"

"I haven't long, there is a being here you may be familiar with, one who has a strange appearance of that of a skeleton with a long robe wanting to make a deal"

"Trazyn." You say almost as a curse

"Not to be trusted. Right. In that case I shall shall personally deal with this."

"Brother he has powerful technology that ca-"
>>

"Right already see some of it this device is worth it though I will contact you when we are done." Magnus says and disappears and you think hard on it. Then you look at the crab in the ball.

"volunteers only. I am starting to think that 'Death' is related to the other 'Necrons' that we have been dealin wi"

"NECRONS?!" Dorrick says peekin around the corner.

"I was just gonna leave but ya some how managed to wake em up?! Lad that's universally bad news." Dorrick says

"What do you know of them"

"Enough not to deal with them and keep them at a fair distance! When they first re-entered the galaxy, the sent envoys to the core, wantin to trade us in technology for some of theirs. And it was mighty powerful, we did a slight deal, for some of our tech for theirs, they haven't done any double crossin yet- but we have seen what happens to those on their bad side. Nobody has been dumb enough to hold a grudge against em- but some have mentioned some darker tales."

"Oh?" Roboute asks and ya know he is probably a bit more angered.

" One Scout, from a rescue party I was part of got stuck on one of their worlds. He listened in and was able to translate some of their language. They are worried about two things: the orks, and these bestial invaders that they call insectoforms. This Necron that our scout listened on ranted for about 4 actual days, and was saying that once all the greens and bugs were gone, that they would finally reclaim their bodies, the galaxy then the whole bloody universe. Any trade with them, is just empowering them later."

There is a silence for but a minute.

"One thing at a time, at least for this." You say and Roboute gives an odd look, like he is mulling over how he'd do it.

You wait by the accord table, and people come up thinking ya bout to go privateerin again, because apparently Jerahs already put out his notices for privateerin. You would bring this up, but it's his perogative, granted where he is gonna go because ya unified the planet is a different story

Then there is the fact he is a Great Man. They aint common, and if he is takin the auditor, which ya still haven't found out what he is namin his ship. Then there is the fact that Ya haven't really decided to do with Roboute's leavin. Though a blowout seems in order.

But before ya can, ya see one of Jerah's old vessels approachin the shore and people a singing.

You got a few minutes before actual business and ya havin to set up for the trip.

We are going to start the next thread with the Jerah advice. Next thread will be the final part of the Uniting of De'lormosa before we move on to pre crusade and then the actual crusade.

As of right now Kolinaisi and the eleventh are in a really good position. It's going to shake some things up.

Statistically here are some numbers.

Chances of Redaction at this time: 0%
Chances of other chapter getting redacted: 5%
Chances of a Heresy: 40% (Down from 50%)
IF heresy chances of it aligning as in lore: 5%
Most likely Heresy type at this time: Modified Dornian/Russian.

Most loyal primarch to Kolinaisi at this point

Roboute Guilliman

Before 12am central time if this thread isn't completely off board and I have time to see it- I will answer any current status of the quest question IE "Who is most likely to be warmaster" "What is likely to trigger the heresy" "what happens if there is NO heresy" etc. Granted it will be blunt with some context, and not too in depth, but I will answer if I get time.

Does old man know how to solve the time shenanigans? He is the one that taught us medicine and the future ghost was happy because of it.
Or is it more that if we solve the mutation, we don't need to enter the Ymga Monolith?
Can we stop the Pharos from activating?
Are the tyranids coming early?
>>
>>5645244
As promised.
1. He may be able to
2. No mutation no need to Ymga Monolith.
3. Yep.
4. They sure as hell gonna try.
