In the 41st Millenium, there is only war. Between the eternal and insidious threat of xenos, Chaos, and their own corrupt leaders, the Imperium of Man is an empire teetering on the brink of a gaping abyss. For almost everyone within its fracturing borders, there is little room for hope. But on a backwater hive world in Segmentum Ultima, in the darkest recesses of the already wretched hive, hope does bloom. It comes in the form of a young man by the name of Kvar Quickhands, who after a miraculous discovery of the Holy Bible has begun to lead his handful of followers towards a new path. And although the trials to come are sure to be many, he may at least take heart that he shall not be alone in facing them.

For even if everyone with him were to perish, he will always have God.

And through God, anything is possible.

It has been two days since the failed ambush on the kidnappers. Marella was driven into a rage by it and the deaths of her men, but with nobody to direct it towards, it has cooled into a constant simmering bitterness. Not that you can blame her, you suppose. Your congregation helped the Jags build a pyre for the dead, and surprisingly, Marella asked you to lead the funeral. And now that is where you stand, on a small pulpit in front of the four dead Jags. Jaxie, Riggs, Marlon and Sirius. Despite your experience giving weekly sermons, you feel rather nervous, and not just because of the situation.

The kidnappings have not stopped. In fact, it seems they’ve only begun to increase, and you’ve even heard rumors of whole warrens of underhivers disappearing overnight. Taking a deep breath, you cast a glance over the mourners. Hard young men and women, all of them. And yet… You can tell that they are afraid. Something insidious is taking place in your home, and right now, everyone feels helpless to stop it. Still, maybe you can do something to change that, with your eulogy.

>Stoke the fires of vengeance in the hearts of the Jags. They shouldn’t be afraid, they should be angry!

>Try to lift their spirits with tales of the glorious afterlife to which their friends now reside.

>Speak on how with the help of the Lord, all trials may be overcome with only a little faith.

Let's not get too old-testament here, and speaking about how trials may be overcome with a little faith, I feel, wouldn't be taken too well by people.
Good taste with the midnight mass.

Use that anger to fuel their vigilance and a forge to temper their steel into something that will be used against this enemy.

Welcome back

Ah right we were still hunting those slimy speedy kidnappers. Damm them, our plan of recruitment will have to wait.
>>
Maybe we can reach out to other minor groups/gangs near us and organize for do a wider search of kidnappers. Beside having numbers in case of fights, it might take too long with just Jags and our small community.
At the same time we have no idea what we are searching for. Could be anything like another cult.

Part of you wants to urge the Jags to revenge, and you can’t deny that you wouldn’t want revenge on the kidnappers yourself. But… What these men and women need most of all isn’t anger, it’s hope. And so, after taking a deep breath, you begin the eulogy.

“My friends, we have all experienced a great loss. And while I may not have known those who now lie before us for very long, I was still happy to have known them while I did.” You see some nods from the crowd before you carry on, “But now is not the time to give into despair. While some of you may not believe it, I know that they are all in a better place, residing with their Heavenly Father. They are now in a realm that knows no pain, no hardship, but everlasting peace and joy. And I know that we shall all see them again, in the hereafter.”

“But take heart, friends, for no matter what happens, God is on our side! And all he asks of us is that we all have faith in Him and His will. We will stop these kidnappers, I promise you that, but we will need faith. Have faith in God, and I promise you he will see us all through this difficult time.” After that you call for a moment of silence, and if they desire, prayer. You lower your head, clasp your hands and pray for some time to the Creator. You pray for peace, you pray for hope, but most of all, you pray for the strength for all of you to get through this hardship.

Afterwards, Marella takes the burning torch from one of her men and solemnly lights each pyre, one by one. As the flames rise, you see that same fire reflected in the eyes of each man and woman in attendance. Yes, you think, we shall get through this.

Once the bodies have been returned to ash, both you and your congregation and Marella and her Jags return to your respective homes. While you eat supper that evening with your people, you think on what to do next.
>>
>You have 6 church zealots, 1 church faithful, 12 units of metal scrap and 13 units of lumber, a Pilgrim's Temple, 1 and a half months of food left and 15 Thrones

>Seek out those sworn enemies of Marella and her Jags, The Rashers and their leader, Gag. If you are all to overcome these mysterious kidnappers, you’re going to need all the help you can get. And if that means that old grudges have to be buried to do so, then so be it.

>Continue your acts of charity, but try to get as many people as possible to come stay at your Temple, at least temporarily. It seems that each time you make some progress with those you help, they all disappear by the next week. At least this way, even if they don’t join, they’ll be safer than they would be on their own.

>Go out with the members of the congregation of your choosing (Reek, Andrew, Kieran, Bolt or Esma) to do some investigating of these kidnappers. They seem to only be growing bolder and bolder with their attacks, surely someone must have heard or seen something by now.

I forgot who is who. I know we have a veteran, one dude that we grew back an arm, a psyker, a mother and her kid.
We should probably go with the psyker kid

Understandable, it's been a while. Reek's the veteran who grew back his arm, Andrew is the mute teenager, Bolt is the lady scavenger you saved way back when, Esma is the mother of Carnens and Gavica, and Kieran is the maybe-maybe not psyker teen who stabbed you not long ago.
>>
>Go out with the members of the congregation of your choosing (Reek, Andrew, Kieran, Bolt or Esma) to do some investigating of these kidnappers. They seem to only be growing bolder and bolder with their attacks, surely someone must have heard or seen something by now.

Finding the source of these kidnappings will allow us to put them at an end the fastest.

Investigating on our own is just liable to get us killed, the other gang are a liability to contact (decent chance they're chaos-adjacent if I recall and also, obviously, being as they are enemies of our allies they'll be hard to convince - remember how hard it was to talk Marella round to our side?) which leaves just one option.

Even if we can't convince them to stay in our temple, if we could convince them to shelter in the tunnels near it, together, then they'd be able to watch their own backs far better. Hell, we might even be able to reduce any distrust by operating like a gang and charging rent - far easier to trust us if we seem interested in your cash and not in you...plus with the growth of our algae vats and shit, we're gonna need labour beyond our faithful to be able to scale up production as much as possible.

Torn here, while we probably should be investigating these kidnappers we really have to tread carefully. There's safety in numbers, and maybe like the other anon said if we set up some sorta rent system or something familiar to non-believers they'd be more likely to stay.

>INVESTIGATE THE KIDNAPPERS… SUCCESS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AschUhO2-8&ab_channel=Dabu

These are not ghosts, you reason. They are not monsters springing forth from some nightmare. They are men. And men can be found, and beaten. Somebody must have seen or heard something, anything. With that in mind, the next morning after breakfast you call Reek over to you. You ask him if he would be willing to help you do some investigation for these kidnappers. “Gladly, Kvar. These bastards have been getting away with it for too long.”

You tell the rest of the congregation that you and Reek are going out to perform some charity, so as to not worry them. Reek slings his autostubber over his shoulder and then you both set off. You figure the best place to start would be the most recent warren to have been turned into a ghost town. It’s not too far from the Temple, and after about half an hour of trekking, you come upon it. The first thing that strikes you is just how neat the place is. No blood, no signs of a struggle… Nothing. If you didn’t know that over thirty people lived here just a week ago, you would have thought it to have always been abandoned.

Still, you comb over the place more finely, trying to find anything that sticks out of place. You’re searching through a small side room in the warren when you faintly hear a gasp as you walk by a rotting wooden dresser. Immediately Reek looks to you, his eyes silently asking the question that you’re both thinking: ‘Did you hear that too?” Nodding, you both turn to the dresser, and carefully, you open the drawers. Each one is empty, save for the one on the bottom that holds 5 Thrones, their golden metal reflecting in the light. Nothing else is there.

But… Something had to have made that gasping sound, and you’re beginning to think you know where it is. You and Reek position on both sides of the dresser, and after some heaving you both slide it out of the way, revealing a bare wall and a small vent right above the floor. There! You definitely heard it again, that gasping sound. There’s only one place it could be coming from, and as you lower your head to the vent, you can see two green eyes peering back at you, wide in terror.
>>
Smiling, you whisper “Don’t worry friend, we’re not going to hurt you. We’re just trying to find out what happened here.”

The person inside the vent doesn’t respond for a moment, their eyes never leaving yours, before very quietly you hear a childish voice say “R-really? You’re not with them?” Nodding, you maintain your hopefully comforting smile as you say “Yes, really. If you’re comfortable coming out of there, I’d like to ask you a few questions, and maybe help you if you wish.”

You hear an audible gulp as the figure in the vents takes a deep breath, before you see the screws pop out of the vent, as the kid says “Oh… Okay.” After a couple seconds the child has removed the grate and then crawls out, revealing his gaunt and dirty form. “What do you wanna know, mister?”

>”How did you manage not to get caught?”
The kid perks up a bit, standing a bit straighter. As if he was proud of his quick thinking. “Well… I was in my hideyhole, ya know, exploring. You can find good stuff in the small spaces sometimes, and since everybody else is too big to fit, I have it all to myself, most of the time. That’s where I was when it happened, and I stayed reaaal quiet while they were… snatching everyone.”

>”Did you get a good look at the people who did this?”
The kid looks away for a moment, his face scrunched up, thinking. Then he looks back to you and shakes his head. “I dunno… They looked like… People? They had all kinds of fancy gear on, but they just looked like anyone else.”

>”When did the attack happen?”
“A couple of days ago, I think. I’m not sure, really. I’ve been in my hideyhole ever since.”

>”Did they say anything? Talking to each other, maybe?”
“Yeah, they did. There was just six of em, I think. The big one seemed to be the boss guy. But they were quiet, so I couldn’t make out much. I do remember that he kept talking real close to a real skinny man, wearing a weird shiny metal hat. The skinny guy didn’t talk so much, but he was waving his arms around a lot.”

>”What exactly did they do?”
For a moment the kid looks frightened again, as if the memory of the kidnapping began to come on again, strong. You give him a second to steady himself, before you ask again, a little softer. This time he says “It were… Freeeaaaky… T-the skinny man walked into where everyone was having dinner, and as soon as they looked at him, they all got real still and quiet. Then the skinny man raised his arms, and everyone followed him out. Like they were sleepwalkin’, or something. Nobody raised a fuss, not even a little…”

>”Did anything strange happen before the attack?”
The kids face scrunches up again, and then he says “Nah, no I don’t think so mister. Well… We did get some more people passin’ through than usual, drifters I guess. Some of them made conversation with my folks, asking questions ‘n such, but… It weren’t weird or nothin’.”
>>
Huh… Some of what he said was definitely helpful, but some of it… You’re not sure. You’ll need to think on it, that’s for sure. Maybe talk to some of your people, or Marella, about it. Still, that still leaves the problem of what to do with the child. He seems resourceful, but you doubt he’ll do well on his own with no family. Maybe you should see if he’d want to come with you. In the meantime, you can think of a couple more things to ask him, but you also don’t want to press him too hard, it’s clear he’s been trying hard to not think about the kidnapping as much as possible…

>Write in if you have any more questions

>Take the child with you. He clearly needs help, and how could you call yourself a man of God if you denied his littlest children your help when they needed it?

What kind of man of God would we be if we turn our back on this lost child of God? Here is his darkest hour now more than any other moment, he needs to see the light of God shine through us.

Now on the update itself, this is a very concerning development if the "skinny man" has the power to thrall people with either eye contact, or god forbid just him being able to see you we are in serious shit. The fact his group is well-equipped and organized is very troubling indeed.

I think we need to strongly consider reaching out to more gangers to eliminate this threat or begin recruiting locals to rally a posse for when we locate them we can attack in force as a community.

You ask the boy a couple more questions, to which he answers vaguely. He can’t really explain anything more on the type or make of the ‘fancy gear’ they were wearing, other than that it looked like ‘somethin’ an military guy might wear’, and that he couldn’t make out any symbols on the skinny guy, or even that there were any. Finally you ask him if his family were among the ones taken, to which he grows very quiet. Then, the dam breaks, and he begins to sob. You allow him his grief, it’s more than enough of an answer, before after a minute or so, you place your hand on his frail and skinny shoulder.

“You can come with us, if you like. You’ll be safe and among good people, I promise you.” Sniffling, the boy nods, and as you lead him back to your Temple, he quietly tells you his name is Seth Orson. After a while of trekking through the winding and dank underhive halls, you eventually come upon the now familiar street housing your Temple. The gate is quickly opened as you approach, and your heart swells with pride as your followers immediately and unquestioningly welcome the boy in your home, knowing that if he is with you, then he is family.

>You have gained a new follower! You now have 1 church member, 1 church faithful, and 6 church zealots. You also have 12 units of metal scrap, 13 units of wooden lumber, a Pilgrims Temple and one and a half months worth of food stored.

You notice that out of all your followers, Esma takes it upon herself to get Seth situated and comfortable, almost treating him as one of her own children. Carnens and Gavica also seem very happy to have another kid in the Temple, and they quickly pull him off to come play in their esoteric games. Smiling to yourself, you allow yourself a moment's rest in the barracks while you think on what to do next.

>Go out and preach in the market in the old dried up cistern, while at the same time performing as much charity as possible, while trying to convince as many as you can to take up shelter at or around your Temple. You need to not only help the people around you, but also to warn them of the dangers of this new threat, and something tells you that you will need as many helping hands as you can get in the upcoming fight against these insidious kidnappers.

>Go and talk to Marella. It’s been a few days since you’ve had a real talk, and you need to discuss what you’ve learned with her. And… It would be good to see her again, besides.

>Seek out the Rashers and their leader. From what you remember, they are a surprisingly nonviolent gang, albeit feckless flake pushers, and although they are far from pacifists, you think you’d be safe in going to talk with them about the kidnapping situation. You will need as many armed and able people as possible if you are going to stand a chance against these strange snatchers, and hopefully the Rashers will see that too.

Haven't read up on the other 2 threads yet, but isn't jesus literally an old alias of the emperor in 40k?
How's that work?
>>
>>5619450
If I remember right, there's no real direct confirmation of him being Jesus, but there's of him being Saint George.
>>
>>5619476
I think it's a bit too heavily implied in multiple sources to just pretend he wasn't at least directly involved.

Well, him being involved doesn't mean he is the guy

All things point to big E being big J. Judas doesn't fit, Roman Legionaries don't either. Maybe Paul?
Then again Paul wasn't exactly magical and I can't see bug E being anybody's disciple.

The next day, after breakfast with your congregation, you set off to the old market in the cistern. After a short and brisk walk, you come upon the heady and heavily scented marketplace. Although immediately you can tell that something is… off. For one, there’s fewer people here than usual. And those that remain are uncharacteristically tense. Even the usual noise and laughter from the various market pubs has quieted down immensely, as the sparse amount of patrons grimly stare into their glasses. No one tries to hawk any products at you, as they stand at their various stalls, gruff faced and standoffish.

Still though, you came here for a purpose and you don’t intend to stop because of a gloomy atmosphere. Standing on a small abandoned crate, you clear your throat, the noise carrying clearly over the unusually quiet market. Pushing on, you begin, “Hello my friends,” immediately you hear someone grumble ”We ain’t yer bleddy friends…” Undeterred, you carry on, “I know times have been difficult for all of us. But take heart, people, for God is on your side!”

God?!” Shouts a portly woman, “There ain’t no God here, you idjit!” You allow that to hang for a moment before you continue “I know it is hard to find any hope, that these incidents of kidnapping seem to be unstoppable, and unknowable. But I intend to offer a helping hand to all of you, free of charge! Come with me to my Temple, band together under the protection of me and my friends, and I promise you will be safe. They wouldn’t go after so many in one place.”

Another man shouts, his voice hoarse and raspy, “And how the hell do you expect us to trust you? For all we know, you’re one of them” You hear some shouts and grumbles of assent to what that man said, as another pipes up “Yeah! I heard that this freak was handin’ out poisoned food to the homeless! And he wants us to follow him back to his ‘temple’! Why? I bet he’s workin’ for em, tryin’ to get us all in one easy place for them snatchers to come take us away!”

More angry shouts echo the mans words, and very quickly you can feel the mood changing. From mere anger, to possibly… Violence. As they start to gather around you, fists balled up, some brandishing blunt weapons and small shivs, faces red with vitriol, you realize you only have a few more moments to turn the situation around, or run.

Gathering your courage, you remain where you are. As they surround you, you raise your voice to be heard over the clamor. “Believe me people, I only want to help! Ask those who know me, ask anyone! Have I not been a good neighbor to you all?”

“Shut up!” Yells a man in the front, and as they inch closer and closer, their knuckles gone white from how tightly they were gripping their weapons, you fear that things are about to take a turn for the worse…

BANG!

At that instant they all stop dead, and as they turn to look at the source of the thunderous sound, you also see the large shotgun, wispy coils of smoke pouring from the barrels, gripped in the hands of none other than Marella. “OI!” She roars, “Are you fakking idiots kidding me? You’d seriously go after Kvar? Do ye not know who he is? Who I am?!” Their confidence shattered, they begin to back off, but one brave man remains, stammering “B-but he’s workin’ with the kidnappers! He has to-” He’s cut off as Marellla levels the shotgun at his head, as she snarls “Did I ask for yer fakking opinion?”

“If any of you bleeders want a go at Kvar, then you’re gonna have to go through me. Is that clear?” They grumble but they all do indeed back off, none wanting to risk the ire of the infamous Jag leader. “Now listen here, and get this through yer thick fucking skulls: Kvar is a good man. He’s a bloody holyman, for fucks sake. If he says he’s trying to help you, then you best fucking believe it.”

Nodding to you, Marella says “Now come on, holyman, let’s get outta here.”

As you walk back to the street housing both of your homes, Marella is uncharacteristically quiet. It is only when you come upon the gate of your Temple that she suddenly grabs you and wraps you in a fierce hug, whispering “Be more careful, you idiot. The people are scared, they’re looking for a boogeyman to take it out on. You need to prove to them that you’re one of the good ones.” As she lets you go, you thank her, both for her help and her advice. She grins a bit, before walking off towards her own home, saying “Aye, aye… Just don’t expect me to be there every time you end up in a wee scrap.”

As you walk back into your Temple, you can’t help but worry about the damage that that incident has done to your reputation around here. While you hope that what Marella said to them will have convinced at least some, you have a sinking feeling that your work here will become much harder.

>As you look over your various crops, you think they’re about ready to harvest. The red fruit seeds have indeed borne plump red fruit, and while you can’t see any brown vegetables growing out of the seeds that the man sold you, the parts above the surface are leafy and green. It will take you and your whole congregation at least a week to harvest it, but already your mouth is watering at the thought of something other than algae gruel to eat.

>Wait a day or two, and then start your acts of charity again. While you can only perform the miracle of healing once a day, maybe just a few examples of it will be enough to convince the people that you truly are on their side.

>Go and find Marella. You still haven’t had a proper talk since the funeral, and you know she will be very interested in the information that Seth gave you about the kidnappers. Maybe she’ll even have some insights of her own, you know Marella is never one to rest on her laurels.

That night, you rest. While the crops seem ready enough for harvest, you think they can stand another day or two as they are. After supper with your congregation, you turn in with the rest of them in your communal barracks. Unfortunately, your sleep is marred by visions of your home, your Temple, being burned to the ground. Your friends and church members being hung from the street posts, as tall men with no faces rain hellfire upon all that which you love.

You awaken with a start, and you can still hear the screams from your dream before it is overtaken by your own hammering heart, and your ragged breaths. You lie there for a while, collecting yourself, before having a quick breakfast with your people and then making off for the Jags base. The corpse of the flake dealer is still nailed to the lamp post, now more bones and flea bitten rags than anything that might have once resembled a human being. In some ways, it’s hard to reconcile that the Marella you know is also a person capable of that, but you suppose it’s also that duality that you like about her. The light and the dark, interlinked.

Ace is at his usual spot by the front door, and he nods knowingly to you as you approach. “The boss is in the meetin’ room, Kvar. Go on in.” As you enter, you see that the inside of the Jags hideout is much the same as it was last time you were here, a week ago. It doesn’t take you long to find her seated at the large table, gingerly rubbing medical gel into her awful scar. You clear your throat, saying “Hey, Marella.”

She jumps a little before she twists and leans back in her chair to get a look at you, and if you didn’t know better, you would have thought she looked rather sheepish, maybe because you walked in on her treating herself, the situation oddly… Intimate. “B-bloody hell Kvar, tie a bell around yer neck or something. Didn’t yer mother ever teach ya it’s no good to sneak up on people?”

Taking a seat next to her, you watch as she scoops up another dollop of the gel and begins rubbing it in, before you ask “Does it hurt?” She scoffs, “Aye… It never quite healed right, and some days, it stings like hell.” As you watch her gently rub the gel into and over her scar, part of you wants to ask how she got it in the first place. Whatever caused it, it was a miracle that she survived, and a part of you aches as you gaze upon the staples holding both halves of her riven face together, the left side of her face sagging slightly as if it would slide clean off were the staples removed

“Well don’t just sit there like a dullard Kvar,” she finally croaks, “What did ye wanna talk to me about? Or did you just want to bask in my beautiful presence?”

She asked, and so you begin to tell her what you’ve found. You tell her about the boy, about the six men who were able to get over twenty people to follow them to God knows where without so much as a fuss, and about the skinny man with the metal hat. In turn she tells you what she has learned, having sent her boys around not only to those from whom they extort weekly ‘protection’ payments from, but also to the various warrens and hab blocks in the wider area. Here’s what she’s learned “They don’t seem to go after those who are totally broke, ya know, the homeless, the addicts, the sick and the old. It seems that our snatcher friends have a type, that bein’ those of good health and with some good standing in their local community.”

On the subject of the skinny man with the metal hat who can seemingly command anyone against their will to follow them with no resistance, she says “That’s bloody worryin’. So you’re tellin’ me they got a magic man workin’ for em?” She scoffs, “And here I thought you were the only one around here with special powers. And I’ve heard similar things too, ya know. About the snatchers being well equipped and geared up, like soldiers. And not the kind of drek your average ganger would have, but proper military gear.”

As she finishes applying the last bits of the medigel to her scar, she turns to you and says “Aye, I’m thinking that whoever these kidnappers are, they ain’t workin’ alone. They got somebody high up, somebody powerful backing em and giving em the gear and the info on who to go after. Which means we are in some deep shit. If they’re workin’ for somebody on Boiadero’s upper spires, us going against em could lead to the whole damn underhive gettin’ purged.”

“So what,” you say “We should just let them get away with it?” Grinning, her scar contorting grotesquely, Marella giggles a bit as she says “Hell no Kvar. They killed my men. I’m never letting that go. I’d bomb the whole Goddamn hive to dust if it meant I could get revenge. No, what that means is we need to be smart. We need to get one of these snatchers alone, and then ya just gotta let me spend some quality time with em and I promise you I’ll have their whole operation scoped out.”
>>
After that, you and Marella chat for a while about a whole lot of nothing. Pleasantries, you suppose. During it all, you can’t help but have your eye drawn to her scar, and the apparent pain it causes her. Without it, you are certain that she would be very pretty. Beautiful even. And so, despite your better judgment, you ask her if she’d like you to heal her scar. “Oh bleddy hell…” She sighs, “I knew you were gonna ask me that eventually. Let me make it real clear for ya, Kvar. This scar, this pain, it’s a reminder. A reminder that flake and scag and all that other drek is fucking evil, that it makes good men and women into beasts. I wouldn’t give it up for the world, it’s who I am. Without this scar, without this pain, I wouldn’t be the woman sittin’ before ya right now.” She grins a bit after that, a light twinkle in her eye as she says “And it’s bleddy scary to boot. Let’s everyone know that I ain’t a bitch to be messed with. So thanks for the offer, Kvar, but no thanks.”

Before you take your leave, you tell her that your crops are almost ready for harvest, and that if she and her men would help in the reaping of it then they could all come join you for the feast. “A temptin’ offer, that. Aye, why the hell not. Just let me or one me lads know when you’re ready to start and we’ll join in. I’ve been gettin’ bloody sick of algae gruel and rat skewers anyways.”

As you make your way back to your Temple, you think on what to do next. And you also can’t help your mind from wandering back to Marella’s shy face when you walked in on her treating herself. Scar or no scar, you do think she’s beautiful, and not just on the outside. Such strength!

i am starting to suspect some kind of human slavers, maybe an early contract between a noble and a dark eldar kabal for avoid being raided ? Nobody cares of underhivers.
Though why using military gear and professional (if not semi professional) men, is our underhive so dangerous (there are some large predatory animals and other dangers lurking around, not that impossible) ? Or maybe they just don't want to deal with asking gangers and thus avoid breaking secrecy.

Could be also a far more powerful cult that is semi-established in the society of the world and up in sociel hierarchy, maybe they can't make too many waves anymore in the upper hive and are resorting to using the underhive for gain resources in this case slaves. Be for gain money or sacrifices.
Or something more "mundane" like a high noble selling humans to other noble houses or parts of the imperium government in the planet. Or cruel things like arenas, not necessarily chaotic still evil.

Looks like almost everyone wants to harvest the crops, please roll me 3 1d100+10 to see how well it goes. There is no failure here, just degrees of success. +10 because of your earlier setting up of the irrigation system.

>DC:
>45 or below: Shoddy harvest, a lot of the plants either withered or grew some kind of fungus, leading to a smaller harvest of edible crops than expected.

>60: Decent harvest, most plants grew successfully, and while not as good as it could have been, there's still plenty of food to last a couple months.

>80 or above: Amazing harvest, every single plant yielded much more produce than expected, giving you enough food to last for over half a year

The underhive is indeed very dangerous, in a variety of ways. The main thing is the lack of proper food, leading to a lot of people dying very young from malnutriion, as the main food source for most is algae gruel and products given how easy it is to grow, although it is not very nutritious. Not to mention the rampant diseases that regularly make the rounds throughout the underhive, once again taking mostly the young and old to their graves. Beyond that, the widespread lack of honest work leads to many turning to the various gangs for survival, and the whole underhive is a giant patchwork of gangs big and small each taking their cut from whatever underhivers live in their areas, and the nigh constant gang wars between all of them.

There's also the mutants on the lower levels, ranging from mutated humans driven mad by the various toxic chemicals and radiation, to mutated animals. A Boiadero world native creature is the number one killer, the dreaded Spindly Cat, a freakishly long and skeletally thin creature that vaguely resembles the domestic house cat, with their razor sharp claws and teeth and rapid healing factor combined with their ravenous hunger and almost complete lack of fear leads to many drifter folk and small communities being completely decimated by their attacks.

And then there are the other mutant beasts, which number too many to count, almost all predatory and deadly. There is a reason why a underhiver living past the age of 30 is considered to be a major accomplishment, because life in the Boiadero underhive is a constant struggle just to live to see another day.
>>
>>5629726
And this is not to even mention the widespread addiction to drugs that many underhivers are afflicted with, the most popular of which is flake, called as such because it is more flakey than powdery, which produces a very strong but very short lived stimulant and euphoric high not unlike amphetamines, and is extremely addictive. It is very popular mainly because of how easy it is to produce, and the chemicals used to produce it as well are very unhealthy on their own, and prolonged use of the drug is prone to cause psychosis, malnutrition from complete loss of appetite, weeping sores and scabs all over the body and eventually even causing holes to form within the brain once the drug has been used consistently for long enough, which only compounds the psychosis problem.

A part of me hopes we can pick up the pace of expanding our flock. Not that I'm impatient or anything, but from what I know, the sheer scale of 40k means hive gangs can number in the tens of thousands.

Maybe I'm being silly, but exponentially growing our Church flock would do wonders, not just because of numbers alone, but more hands makes light work.

More hands means more that can till the fields. More hands to wield arms in defense. More hands to craft tools and build barricades and so many other things.

Again, I don't want to come off as wanting to rush expansion, but having more added to our flock in a place as vast and dangerous as the Underhive will be a very good thing.

We're real small, and that can be good and bad for different reasons.
>>
>>5629766
Then again, by being small we're also beneath notice of the bigger fish. To stand as peers to them would mean having to go through the dangerous middle leagues where we're big enough to attract attention but not big enough to fend off anything that decides we're now a target. Being technically a heretical cult makes being noticed by the biggest fish of all by way of size even more dangerous to us, though not engaging in the typical behaviour of Chaos cults helps keep us lower-key than they would be.
>>
>>5629769
That's a very good point. Though I would also argue that, by our nature as a Christian cult, we'll eventually start to expand further and reach that critical mass where we get into the 'mid leagues' as you put it, and it will be an issue we'll have to deal with eventually, as we can't stay small forever.

Though you are also right again, in that the fact we aren't flaying people alive and shit like that means we'll fly under the radar a lot longer than other cults would.
>>
>>5629772
Agreed that it's more or less inevitable that we will expand and have to go through that transitional danger zone. We should decide how we're going to ameliorate this size hazard to not get squelched as an upstart threat - perhaps we might try to decentralise and/or set up cell structures to make it more difficult to get a measure of our organisation and hide how large we've gotten until we're large enough to stand up for ourselves, or we could just try and punch as far above our weight as we can with trained and equipped members who can blast gangers in the face well enough to make us more trouble than we're worth. We may also want to pick our battles and not try and overtly muscle in on gangs' grifts and rackets until later to reduce our threat index.
>>
>>5629769
you can have hundreds or even thousands of people under your control and remain unnoticed because your in a hive of billions crammed into a small area.
>>
>>5629786
The hive has billions, trillions, but this small area of the hive does not and every floor, every sector, every district, every block will have its local big players and established hierarchy. The hive is less one big pond and more lots of recursively smaller semi-self-contained ponds, and we're in the smallest right now.
>>
>>5629812
But we've already catch the attention of some pretty big fish already.

Not growing our numbers will screw us long term.
Remember the Sunbelt Crusaders.
>>
>>5629869
I haven't followed SBC so I don't know what you're referring to. Regardless, I'm not arguing against growth, just think we need to tread carefully while doing so.
>>
If we want to grow our numbers, our best short-term method is honestly probably continuing the conversion and integration of the Jags. Once they are on our side, we'll have their territory as our own and their protection racket (think that was their thing) could easily be turned to a evangelising end.

It might also be worth while taking advantage of our ability to heal mortal wounds - having our number comb the tunnels for severely injured people, healing them and then offering them the chance to stay if they want. If they leave, they'll tell others and we get good rumours, if they stay, we get another member. Maybe doing the same with pregnant woman / mothers, offering to help them with the birth and to take care of the child if they don't want to / can't.

Given our excellent harvest, we're likely going to have a significant surplus of good food shortly and honestly might struggle to consume all of it before at least some of it rots. Set up a stall at the market we know of nearby. Using our harvest to make soup (water being free and all) or some such and offering bowls of it for a low price / free if they'll listen to us, scatter a few benches about - that sort of thing.

>BEGIN TO HARVEST THE CROPS… UNNATURAL CRITICAL SUCCESS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDSimmvJH1I&list=PLWpYpml50qkrj5jdj_4QdzZ_9hmw1kJCD&index=4&ab_channel=TheNewtonBrothers

The next morning, you tell your congregation that the time for harvest has begun. They set to work happily, overjoyed to finally literally see the fruits of their labors. Shortly after the morning, most of the Jags, including Marella, also show up. They pitch in with as much zeal as your own congregation, the promise of a delicious feast pushing them onwards to work as hard and quick as possible, so much the sooner to get it in their bellies. However, it is not long before you notice that one of the crops is much different than the rest.

Sprouting from the seeds that the seller said was ‘magical’, indeed grow large, thick stalks, red veins coursing through all of it’s stems and leaves. But the most astonishing thing of all, is the fruit that sprouts from it: Large, oblong shaped fruits that glow blue! Walking over to one of the many ‘magical’ plants, you pluck the glowing fruit from it’s stalk, and tentatively, take a bite. Glowing blue juices gush over your mouth and down your chin, but you barely notice it, as the fruit is absolutely delicious. Slightly tangy and sour, but that only compliments the almost overwhelming sweetness of the fruit.

And immediately you feel the weariness of waking up so early in the morning disappear, replaced instead with a righteous level of vigor! You feel as if you could run for miles and miles without having to rest, and while you weren’t in a bad mood before you bit the fruit, you now feel light and elated, euphoria flooding through you making you feel utterly relaxed and mellow. Perhaps the seller wasn’t just blowing smoke, maybe this fruit truly is magical…

The rest of the harvest goes just as well, the red berries number in the hundreds by the time you have picked all of them, and they are sweet and filling, although it doesn’t come close to comparing to that glowing blue fruit. And the plants that bore no fruit nor veg above the ground but instead just leaves revealed that after a bit of digging, the roots were thick and after Bolt takes a tentative bite, she grins through a mouthful of the stuff as she says “Yagh! Thishg shtuff is good! It’d be e’en betther bagked!”

There’s so many crops however, that over the course of the next week, you, your congregation and the Jags devote almost every waking hour to picking the stuff. By the end of the week however, you have a hoard of delicious fruits and brown vegetables that might even make those on the upper spires mouth’s water.

>You have 1 church member, 1 church faithful, and 6 church zealots. You also have 12 units of metal scrap, 13 units of wooden lumber, a Pilgrims Temple and a year's worth of food stored, as well as 220 of the energizing glowing blue fruit, and 20 Thrones.

Now all that's left to do is decide on the feast, and whom to invite.
>>
>Just have the feast with your congregation and the Jags. They helped you pick it, they’ve earned their fair share of the delightful stuff.

>Invite everyone in the local area. Is it not the Christian thing to do, to share with everyone in times of plenty? And although it shames you a little to think of it this way, doing this will certainly undue any harm to your reputation that the incident in the market caused, and almost certainly improve it greatly.

>Invite everyone in the local area, and the Rashers, the Jags sworn enemy. Marella may not like it, but you see this as the perfect opportunity to finally bring an end to their feuding, and make it so that both groups can work with you to take down these kidnappers.

It might be a bit for Marella to swallow, but we can at least reason about it with her, both in the sense that the kidnappers are a very potent threat, and with the idea that maybe, you know, we can convince the Rashers to stop selling the hilariously lethal Flake. You know, repentance and all that.

Apparently the rabbit and egg motifs are bits remaining from pagan stuff, even the name
Easter is supposed to be the name of some goddess.
It is the same in most anglo countries I think.
This holiday has a different name in my home country something that is closer to christian roots altough we still have the rabbit and eggs stuff.
Im not too sure about the validity of this info as I just heard all this a while back.

Fucking YOLO this. It beats having a war down the line. Fuck, why not be food dealers instead of flake dealers? Bigger and safer market.

They can be our sheepdogs for the farms. After all this would guarantee all basic needs of everyone is met, and if flake dealing dies off or peters out with a whimper and not a bang, then all the better.

I took a look at Wikipedia, and apparently eggs were symbols of rebirth, and some early christian in Mesopotamia painted eggs red during that time.
Easter is because of syncretism with a germanic goddess called Eostre, with names deriving from Pascha being closer to the christian roots, since it's a word derived from aramaic.
The hare is an odd one, not much about it other then some theories that it was an animal associated with Eostre, and that it was a popular motif in medieval church, monks loved to draw the little guys

As you look over your store of food, an idea lights up in your mind. As much as it shames you to admit, the incident in the marketplace has done a number on your reputation, but with this bounty before you, you can now remedy that easily. And so, the next day you send out Bolt and Reek to go out and tell everyone they find that the Temple is having a public feast, and that all are invited. Then, after telling Esma to get started on cooking as much as possible before the evening, you yourself set out to the Jags hideout.

After a brisk walk, you pass by Ace who dutifully holds the door open for you to enter. It doesn’t take you long to find Marella, and after you relay that she and all her men are invited to tonight's feast, you watch as she tries and fails to keep up her hard bitten facade, attempting to hide the sheer delight at the thought of gorging on fresh fruits and vegetables.

Then you return to your Temple, and the work truly begins. You, Esma, Kieran, Carnens, Gavica, Andrew and Seth all slave relentlessly at cooking up the feast. Despite each of you having almost no experience with real fruits and vegetables, Esma is able to come up with half a dozen appetizing ideas for preparing the various produce. After a couple hours, the meals are nearly complete when you hear Bolt shout at the front gate “Kvar! Open up, we got lots of folk here for supper! Marella and her lads are here too! And we’re all hungry!”

You run to open the gate, and then watch as five dozen or more people pour into the Temple, already smacking their lips at the heady scent of all the cooked meals. There’s so many that there’s not enough room at the table for everyone to fit, so many have to take spots on the floor, as they all not so patiently wait to be fed. You do make sure that Marella and your congregation do get proper seats at the table, however.

Finally, after what must have only been a couple minutes that felt agonizingly long, the food is brought in. Esma, Andrew and the kids start handing out everyone their portions, and you worry for a while that they’re may be too many people to feed them all, but eventually everyone does indeed get their share. After you call for a quick prayer of thanksgiving to God and Jesus, you all dig in. And it's… It's…
>>
It’s delicious!

Each bite is a new delight to the senses, each taste so foreign to your underhiver tongues yet so unimaginable appetizing that soon all pretensions of manners gets tossed aside, as you all ravenously dig into the meals, many licking their bowls and plates clean once it has been completely devoured. Once most everyone has finished their meals, you are about to ask for their help in the clean up when someone in the giant crowd of underhivers pipes up, shouting “OI! How about three cheers for our generous bloody holyman?!”

Many shouts of agreement are brought up at that, and then it begins…

“THANK YOU KVAR!”

“THANK YOU KVAR!”

“THANK YOU KVAR!”

Those three cheers ring in your ears long after every plate and bit of mess has been cleaned up, long after all comers leave to go back to their respective homes, long after Marella gives you a strong hug and a kiss on the lips and then returns to her own base, and long after you crawl into bed.

What a good day. Praise be to God!

Hey guys, I'm sure you're all sick of the delays at this point but for the last couple of days I've been completely unable to sleep for seemingly no reason. Between that and work I have very little energy to write, so the quest may need to be put on hold for a couple days while my weird fucking body sorts itself out.

Apologies again but as soon as I'm able I'll try to get the next update out.

Coming back from the dead is technically a form of birth, yeah? Rebirth, innit?
>>
>>5635150
Could certainly argue that. In my mind there's a level of reincarnation implicit to the word "rebirth," but other people might not have that link. In my mind, rebirth is the same soul in a new body, where resurrection is the same soul in the same body. That's not from the dictionary though.

PLANT A SEED AND WATCH IT GROW

SIMPLE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SYWRApgovI&list=PLWpYpml50qkrj5jdj_4QdzZ_9hmw1kJCD&index=5&ab_channel=TheNewtonBrothers

They call you Simple. You’re not sure why. Because of how you look, maybe? The way you talk? A joke that everyone’s in on, except you?

It doesn’t matter.

A few days ago, that strange cultist Kvar-Something had a bit of a party. You were there, of course. You’re always where you need to be, in the end. It was… Unexpected. Not the first time you’ve had real fruits and vegetables, but it is certainly the first you’ve had it without calling in some massive favors, and fair few Thrones. Not that Kvar is the first to attempt to grow food down here, far from it. It’s just that, with the way Boiadero is, people who try don’t last long.

Maybe they die before harvest, their incredibly valuable labors going forgotten and unappreciated, alone in the dark. You’ve certainly heard enough rumors of ancient groves full of the sweetest fruits and the most filling veg to know that there’s at least some truth to that. But it’s not all. Most who try get found out pretty quick, and then the local heavies move in. Produce trade is incredibly lucrative down here, after everything is said and done. Not really something you can keep up for long without somebody wanting a taste.

Heh. In more ways than one.

But still… This is the first time you’ve ever seen somebody just… Give it away. Like it wasn’t even a big deal. Like he didn’t know what he was doing with it. And the fact that he was able to grow it to harvest without somebody taking him and his friendly cult out means something. You know he’s in tight with the Jags. You’ve even heard that he’s fuckin’ their head broad. Marella… Can’t really avoid the rumors about them two. Not when it concerns her, especially.

Still, you went to their feast. You partook of what they had to offer. Some of it was even good. What does all this mean, though…? That some random nobody out of billions of local nobodies just pops up one day, singing the praises of some God that nobody has heard of, or understands. That not long after that, he ends up hooking up tight with one of the more infamous local gangs in the area, and then not long after that, takes out a different cult altogether? And… Not too long after that, the whole kidnapping sitch is going down. And now this.

What does all this mean? You don’t know. It doesn’t matter.

One thing you do know, is that this Kvar is a man to keep an eye on. If only to see how long it takes for the underhive to chew him up and spit him out. Who knows? Maybe he’ll survive long enough to become a fixture instead of an oddity. You can’t deny that you wouldn’t mind seeing that happen. Honestly.

Then you hear a knock on your door, and a familiar voice. Oh well…

Back to work.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
>>
KVAR QUICKHANDS

It’s been a week since you’ve held the feast and during that time, something surprising has happened. For the first time, you’ve had people coming up and knocking at your gate, begging to join. Most of them offer nothing more than their bodies and the clothes on their backs, but still they plead with a desperate insistence. Which wouldn’t really be a problem for you, except it’s not just one or two, but almost two dozen. All hanging around outside your home.

You’ve been with your small, tight knit group of Christians for what feels like a very long time now. And you’ve heard each of them give their thoughts on the matter, Reek being the most vocal in favor of the wannabe recruits. And surprisingly, Bolt is the one who seems most wary of them, insisting and pleading with you to be careful with these people, these… Strangers.

Everyone else has their own opinions, but have fallen in with one or the other thought leaders. You know that no matter what you do, both will still stand behind you no matter what, but they do offer up some food for thought. You could put this off for a while longer, you suppose, but that may only make the situation worse. Still, it’s up to you.

>Listen to Reek’s suggestion and take in everyone. Who are you to say no to so many hands being proffered? And you’ll certainly need all the help you can get, in the days to come.

>Listen to Bolt’s suggestion and turn them all away. Sure, everyone who’s with you now may have once been a stranger, but then, so were you to all of them. They followed you out of faith, and not just because you were on the rising tide. And they’ve all proven themselves, over and over again. Can you say the same about these newcomers?

"He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God."

Either way, we should keep an eye on them, yes, but it would be foolish to turn them away. If nothing else, more hands makes lighter work. The more faithful we have, the more we can do at once.

Carefully vet these people, we can't take everyone and save everyone if the entire hive or even half the block comes, but we can try to help as many as we can adequately with our safely in mind.
We get to know them and their names, and carefully assign a full time believer to each person possible or have two newcomers under one full time missionary follower or more.

Have some restricted areas and proper boundaries, maybe ask the Jags come by on some patrols daily to make sure there's no trouble.

They will be counted as members of the faith and allowed to join us for meals, labour and prayer-service - but until proven, shall not be allowed to stay within our temple. An area outside of one of the entrances (I swear we had multiple, if not, the only entrance) will be where they can settle for now.

The above seem a decent compromise to people? They get fed and educated into our faith while we get their labour until such a time as we're confident they're not spies. Could keep them out of the temple entirely since that is where we labour largely, dunno, something to discuss...

After some thought, you decide that neither Bolt nor Reek has the right of it. With everything that’s happening lately, you’d be foolish to accept every one of these supplicants, but you also can’t just turn them all away. You wait until that evening, and then you gather your closest followers to join you outside, amongst the throng of hopefuls. Everyone hushes quickly as they see you approach, street lights shining in their dirty faces. Raising your voice, you say to everyone “Listen, my friends. I know how badly each of you wants to join us, to join the Temple. I know you all have your reasons for doing so. However, I cannot take in all of you at once.”

Immediately those around you begin to look crestfallen, afflicted with that brutal sadness that only happens when you expected the worst and weren’t surprised. Speaking quickly, you continue “But that does not mean I will be turning any of you away. Instead, each of you shall be allowed to join us each day for meals and prayer service, as well as to labor. Once the days work is complete, you must all return to your homes until the next days work begins. Only those who prove themselves may become full members of the congregation, but I won’t look over any of you with harshness.”

At that, you signal your followers to start handing food out, made up of bowls of algae gruel with small bits of vegetables mixed in. As everyone gets their share, you speak up again “Prayer service begins and ends every morning and every evening. After you have finished eating, feel free to… to… t-” And then, it hits you. Your legs turn to rubber. You think you fall, and distantly, your mind marks the gasps and screams of those looking on. But even that is becoming… Fuzzy.

You begin to feel hot, incredible burning heat coming into you and out of you in great waves, as the noise outside grows quieter. You want to tear your clothes off, to do anything to get some respite from the heat, but even the act of turning your head is becoming incredibly laborious and difficult. At some point, you’re not sure when, your consciousness slips out to some softer, cooler place. Leaving your body on the steaming steel, amongst those whom you trust implicitly and whom trust you just as much, standing as close as they can without being overwhelmed by sheer burning heat.

In that space between dream and reality, you feel another's presence. Upon meeting, you converse for a while, although it tells you that all will be forgotten upon waking. Within that radiant beings presence, you find that many of your questions are answered. And it comforts you, greatly.

Will we be able to gain previous powers or abilities we passed over the first time?
>>
>>5639076
>Will we be able to gain previous powers or abilities we passed over the first time?
Yes, but pretty much at my discretion. Effectively what you get to pick from is random, although recent events will influence it. But like I said, it's mostly at my discretion so sometimes all three choices will be brand new and sometimes they may be all old ones that weren't picked.

So, this is kinda broken. First off, we could replicate our lasgun into 500. Just as a example. Same goes for anything rare or valuable we find. We could also replicate our bible the same way. Rare medicines or replacement parts too.

>The Passion of Christ, once a day you can give a speech that inflames the inner courage and spirit of any faithful listening, the tempering of their soul temporarily strengthening their body, allowing them to perform feats previously impossible, and the courage to carry it out.

Alright, it probably won't work but imagine if recordings of our speeches would work too. That'd be broken but even if not? This sounds insanely useful for boosting our labouring or any fighting we do and even for deepening the faith of any who follow us.

>The Word of God, once a day you may command any one person to do any one thing, from making them drop their weapons and refuse to pick them back up to telling you their darkest secret, and everything in between. A very potent ability with terrifying potential.

Alright I have to admit, this is insanely useful and we'd be fools to not take it. The potential uses of this for information gathering are insane, to say nothing of the potential for infiltration and manipulation by gaining the ear of a leader...

No idea which we should take because all of them are insanely useful. I lean towards the first two because their practical benefits scale up better and because they're more immediately useful but the ability to instantly demand any person do as we tell once per day is immense.

Food is a very powerful motivator. Do you know what is an even greater motivator than food? MONEY. Let the other cults keep their zealotry. We will kill the one thing that limits growth. Scarcity. Clean water, promethium, parts, medicine, and the word. Also, I will bet that there are limits to all of these.

The Feeding of 5000 it's useful for mass charity. Imaging giving multiplied fruit/vegetable seeds to hundreds and then teaching them how to farm, they would be able to more reliably feed themselves and would greatly thank us for it.
It would also provide a bigger safety net of food in our local underhive community which we are part of. And rapidly boost our reputation with them. I doubt we would see many that give us a stink eye or booing us at the market.

All this powers are great and powerful. There are likely negatives.
- Kvar being far more tired after using one, and needing to stay in bed for rest. Like a few days instead of hours.
- Increase notoriety/rumors, mixed bag of good or ill. Certainly a lot of ill if a boss of a big gang decides he wants Kvar miracles for himself.
- Certain beings sensing Kvar miracles being used.

Surprising everyone, it doesn’t take long for the heat to begin to dissipate. Eventually the air around you returns to normal, and a few brave souls around you begin to approach. Chief among them being Andrew, as he silently places a hand on your chest, feeling for the beat. The sensation causes you to awaken, and if he is surprised to see your eyes flutter open, he doesn’t show it. He stretches out a hand, and you take it as he lifts you up. You still feel a little dizzy as you come to your feet, but it doesn’t take long for that feeling to be replaced by a deeper desire.

Quietly, you walk through the crowd of stunned onlookers before you come upon the thing that something inside of you is pushing you to find: a bowl of algae gruel, still warm and mostly untouched. Picking it up, instinct guides you as you walk to the nearest person and hand it to them. They take it, still in shock from the intense experience, a shock which only deepens as they look at your hands to see that you’re still holding the bowl of gruel. Everyone’s eyes traces back and forth between the bowl in your hands, and the bowl in his.

Once again, you walk to the nearest person and pass the bowl off to them, and once again you’re left with two bowls instead of one.

Over the next 10 minutes, you silently walk to each person around you and hand them the bowl, and before long, two dozen people are eating out of bowls that shouldn’t exist, that didn’t exist mere minutes ago. Once everyone’s been fed, you lead them all into the Temple as you start up the evening’s sermon. You preach about faith, about family, about the power of love and friendship. Then, everyone returns to their respective sleeping spots. The supplicants go back outside your gates, still completely in awe, and you followers each go to their beds in the barracks. After a moment of prayer by yourself, you also follow them into the barracks, and then into your own bed.

The next morning, try as you might but you can’t replicate the miracle you performed the night before. One bowl of boiled vegetables remains just one lonely bowl of boiled vegetables, but you know that that wasn’t a one off. You suppose your soul needs time to recover, to recharge the energy that allowed it to perform the feat to begin with. And while you eat, you think on what to do next.

>Everyone’s level of faith has deepened after witnessing such an awesome miracle!

>You have 1 church faithful, 1 church devout, and 6 church fanatics. You also have eight months of food left, 12 units of metal scrap, 13 units of lumber, a Pilgrim’s Temple as well as 220 units of the energizing blue fruit left, and 20 Thrones.
>>
>Go with a couple of your followers to scavenge for scrap and lumber. If recent events are any indication, you’re going to need a much more fortified and equipped Temple for the days ahead.

>Tell the supplicants to do something for you (Write in what they should do)

>Continue your investigation of the kidnappers. With so many people close at hand getting some more information on leads should at least be a little easier.

>Continue your training with Reek. While you may not be as weak as you used to be, you can always strive to be just a bit stronger, and you know you will certainly need strength for the trials ahead.

>Focus on indoctrinating the supplicants into your faith, while also keeping an eye out for any with less than pure intentions.

Can we combine both of these options? We'll have the supplicants help us prepare quarters in our church while we evaluate them, so we have enough livable area to house them when they become followers of the faith. Have them build beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs and other such things that make life a little more comfortable in the underhive.
