The year is LP0006, you have been mysteriously transported to another dimension, a piece of land floating in space simply called The Continent, by a being far beyond your mortal comprehension.

Your mission is to find and kill the current Demon King, Little Princess, who has been hiding in the Human Realm for the last six years under the guise of a normal civilian. To execute this mission, you've been given the talking Dark Sword Chaos, one of the few weapons in The Continent capable of piercing the invincibility field the Demon King and its subordinates, the Dark Lords, possess.

(This is a quest based on the Rance series, using gameplay mechanics and lore from that series as base. It's also one of my first quests, so sorry if I don't have this stuff all figured out)
>>
But we're getting ahead of ourselves. First of all, you have to decide which of the four major countries you wish to be summoned to. Once summoned, you'll automatically obtain the average abilities of that country's citizens.

>Leazas
The richest kingdom in The Continent, led by the… eccentric queen, Lia Parapara Leazas. Being the most powerful country in the land, its civilians have access to both basic magic and sword techniques, however they're not especially good at either. A jack of all trades but master of none. As a citizen of a prosperous kingdom, you will start your adventure with more GOLD than your other options, and access to your own cow carriage, to move greater distances for free.
>Helman
The most war-centric faction on the map, led by the princess-turned-president, Sheila Helman. Every civilian in this country is trained since birth in the usage of multiple different types of weapons, from swords to axes to morning stars, they even have training in capturing and using wild monsters in combat. However their proficiency in magic is practically non-existent, and the native cold climate of Helman makes them quite less efficient in warmer areas. As a citizen of the poorest region in The Continent, you would start your journey with zero GOLD.
>Zeth
The kingdom of magic, led by the king Ragnarokarc Super Gandhi and his daughter, Magic The Gandhi. Its population is divided into the upper class, filled with powerful magicians, and the lower class filled with low class weapons users. For the sake of convenience, you will be summoned as a magician with access to base lightning spells and mid tier fire and ice spells. However, to hurt the Demon King and Dark Lords you will need to use the Dark Sword Chaos to disable their invincibility field first, which will be difficult with your non-existent sword training.
>Free Cities Alliance
A wild-west-esque region, filled with adventurers, bounty hunters and thieves. As a citizen of this region, you would not have access to a lot of weapon techniques or fancy magic, however, you'd have quite an edge in terms of hand-to-hand combat and use of dirty tactics to catch opponents off guard. You'd also have an easier time sneaking and stealing stuff.

>You are Leopold Maier, a first year at the Sudori 13 Fourth Army Soldier Academy.
>Although you are a novice, you've shown great skill with the sword during training, even being capable of dual wielding if given the opportunity.
>Despite your incredible talent and relatively good looks compared to other trainee soldiers, your social skills are lacking, to say the least. You find great difficulty in talking to others, and meeting new people scares you more than any man-eating monster.
>You have been summoned into this role for the purpose of finding and slaying Demon King Little Princess as soon as possible, with the help of Chaos the Dark Sword.
>Good luck

After getting your entire life's story beamed into your brain, you awaken into the world you've been summoned to.
You are standing in front of a famous bar in the city of Sudori 13, the biggest city in southern Helman. The weather is cold, even by Helman standards, but your new self can't help but find it comfortable. The narrow, dark gray streets of the city remind you of a desolate ghost town, which you find rather pleasant.

>"Uhh, heeey! Are you gonna ignore me being here or what?"
You look down to the street, a strange looking sword is laying there. This must be that "Dark Sword Chaos" the voice told you about earlier in the intro. You pick it(him?) up.
>"Hey there kindred spirit, I'm Chaos, the super special demon sword, kind of a big deal. Now I'll be honest, I have NO clue what's going on here, but I heard something about killing a Demon King, and let me tell ya' I'm ALL ABOUT that shit!!"
"…uh… uhum…" You mutter, feeling uncomfortable.
>"The strong silent type huh? Well that's fine, that's fine. You know, back when I was a human I had a friend called Nikkou, she was just like that… well except, y'know, she was a hot woman, and you are… well I mean, no offense, I just don't swing that way y'know? I'm sure ladies find you- WOAH!"
You have a feeling he's not going to shut up, so you sheathe him to your side, appreciate the calming silence again, and decide what to do next.

Maybe we can pick up a contract/quest to kill some monsters for extra cash. Also we can catch a monster companion, which after reading the wiki I understand are all girls or Americans which is hilarious. Unfortunately it means no actual wolf/hound companion though, sad. Surely a monster companion would be easier to interact with than other people.

You spend the next few hours of your day killing some low level monsters on the outskirts of Sudori 13. Fighting other humans during training was always a challenge to you, it's hard to look them in the eyes and know what they are thinking, but fighting monsters has always been a relaxing experience. You don't have to worry about what they think about you or how to interact with them after the battle, no matter what you do or say they'll just attack you like always, and you'll kill them in the end, like always.

After eliminating a wave of monsters, you strain your ears and listen. No sound except for the wind, complete silence. Others find the silence of the Helman plains to be downright scary compared to the lively castle town of Leazas or the bustling markets of the Free Cities, but you find it comforting. In fact, you would love if this silence could just last forev-
>"Hahahah! WOOO!! Yeah man, nothing like some good old EXP farming to get the journey started huh?! Though could I suggest you just kill Gal Monsters from now on? I would much rather feel some nice warm lady blood on my blade that some old squid- HEY DON'T SHEATHE ME MID SENTEN-"
…you really need to get a new sword.

>Leopold is now Lv 18
>200 GOLD obtained

>"Hey Leo, thanks for helping out clearing the field today. Those critters are easy to kill, but after three years of this job that routine really gets on your nerves, y'know? Hope the money helps!"
After getting some money from a town gate guard you've met at the soldier academy (you don't remember his name, who cares) and counting the loot you got from the kills, you ended up getting a total of 200 GOLD! It's not much, but it should be enough to get a ride to the next town over, or buy some stuff at a store.

You get prepared to enter the city again when you notice in the distance, a final group of enemies for you to defeat. Your hand reaches for Chaos when your pinkie accidentally touches something that's almost coming out of your bag, oh right, you forgot you had one of these capturing ropes, maybe you should test it out.
Every enemy here seems pretty easy to catch, however which one to choose? The Green Haniwa may seem weak at first, but they are completely immune to all magic attacks, and their signature Hanny Flash attack can pierce any enemy armor.
Meanwhile, the Goldfish Tamer is extremely fragile, but can summon an almost infinite amount of Goldfish to defend herself. And finally the Squidmen… um… shoot ink I guess…? Yeah honestly, they just suck.
>Capture a Hanny
>Capture the Goldfish Tamer
>Capture a Squidman (why?)

(By the way, in the Rance universe our friend Leopold here would need to either go to a Leve Shop or individually turn EXP into Lvs using a Level God to gain levels, but having to write that every time would be really boring and even the game writers tip toe around this a lot. So just pretend he does that stuff off screen or something)

>Don't use the rope and kill them all (more GOLD)

You could show us once and then handwave it.
>>
>>5674437
The Goldfish Tamer is kinda cute. Problem is, if we catch her we have to interact with her. Alot, especially if she's to come with us on our journey. That's a major issue. Interacting with people, ecch.

The Hanny though, that's not a human look-alike and it also looks goofy. I think we can handle that as a party member. It's also immune to all magic. This is good, we face a magic user we simply use our Hanny-friend as a shield as we bum-rush the mage down. Guaranteed success.

With one swift motion, before the Goldfish Tamer can even blow her whistle, you unsheathe Chaos from your waist and quickly slash her in half. Then, with a quick dodge of a Hanny Flash, you dash towards the middleman of the Squidman trio and slam your sword into his head, the other two realize the trouble they're in and run away screeching. Then finally, with a final sword slash cracking one of the Haniwa in two, you're left alone with a single Green Hanny in front of you, cowering in fear.
You grab the capturing rope from your bag, tie a knot and throw it at the Hanny, his circular head fitting inside the loop perfectly. The rope disappears with a flash, and the Hanny stops cowering and stands up straight. It then looks directly at you, and hops to your side, I guess this means it worked!

You decide to go inside the bar, maybe you can get some information on the Demon King's whereabouts. As it turns out, this bar belongs to Mr Nikolai, a man you've known since childhood, so you should have no trouble asking him for help.
>"Ah, hey Leo, how's it going? Have you been studying well- Oh, did you get a pet or something?"
Nikolai looks at your Green Hanny, Hannypold, then points to a sign on the wall next to him, showing a Squidman crossed out in red.
>"Sorry kid, don't wanna take any chances with a monster going wild around my shop."
You crouch down to look at Hannypold and tell him to wait by the entrance.
>"Haniho!"
He nods his head and hops towards the entrance. You never thought Haniwa could be "cute", but maybe you've just never seen one of them be this peaceful before.

You ask Nikolai about any information regarding the Demon King.
>"Woah, you're hunting down the Demon King?! Don't you get how dangerous that is, kid? No offense, but you're just a rookie soldier, they say weak folks can't even stand in the presence of the Demon King without passing out."
After spending a few minutes insisting that this quest was important, he finally decides to give some information.
>"The new Demon King huh? Well, if I recall correctly, the name of this era is LP because the new Demon King is known as "Little Princess". Apparently she ran away from the Monster Realm immediately after becoming the Demon King, and now all the Dark Lords have been stalking around over on our side of the world looking for her. Never ran into one myself, but I've heard rumors of them destroying entire villages looking for their lost princess. Now as to where she's hiding, no one knows, but, if I had to pick where to hide, it'd probably be somewhere in Leazas. It's the furthest place away from the Monster Realm, and they have the best defenses against invaders. Wherever she is, it's definitely not in this shithole country we live in, I'll tell you that much."

>"Eey' Nik!! Give us our drinks already!!! We've been waitin' here!!"
A man wearing a strange robe, with a flower insignia on his chest, approaches Mr Nikolai and requests some drinks. Behind him, you see a whole bunch of men, maybe around 10 to 12, and a woman with blue hair holding a strange saw sitting around a table, with a pile of GOLD coins on top of it.
>"Ah shit, sorry Leo I'll be right back, I gotta serve these dickheads."
As Nikolai leaves to get their drinks, you decide to try listening in to their conversation.
>"Hahah! Man, at this rate we'll be rich 'n no time. This "protection service" business stuff's really payin' off, eh boss?"
Another man wearing the strange robes asks, and the lady with the blue hair responds.
>"Damn right!! Not that surprisin' so many people in Helman's got things to hide, no matter what that "President Sheila" says, this country's gone way too far down the shitter t' be brought back. If we just keep snoopin' 'round, we'll have this whole town 'n the palm of our hands!"
>"Hell yeah boss! Glory to the Flower Gang!!"
Nikolai runs up to the table, and hands everyone their drinks. The blue haired girl grabs his collar and approaches him, their faces almost touching.
>"Heheh, thanks Nikky. On the house, I assume…? Unless ya' want me tellin' some important folks I know that you've been stealin' some fancy schmancy exotic weapons 'n clothes from ya' rich neighbors and sellin' them around while they've been away on vacation in Leazas…?"
>"...indeed, it's on the house, madam."
You see sweat build up on his forehead, those things she said must be true. But even so, you can't accept someone talking to one of your few friends like that.
>"Ey, the fuck ya' lookin' at?!"
Oops, looks like the girl caught you spying on their conversation. She walks to you in an extremely exaggerated manner, almost like a school bully trying to look tough, and slams her hand against your table.
>"Ya' better not tell me you've fallen 'n love with me or somethin', punk. You're in the presence of the new boss of this town y'hear?! Elena Flower's the name, and unless ya' wanna paint this bar with your guts, ya' better forget what ya' heard 'n scram!!"

You simply stand there, saying nothing and staring her down with an angry frown on your face.
>"What's the matter? Nyan-Nyan got ya' tongue?!
>"..."
>"Bastard! Ya' making fun o' me or somethin'?! The fuck ya' want?!"
You like to think of yourself as a patient person, one that tries to solve problems in a quiet and polite manner, but everyone has their limits.
>"...op tal…ng."
>"Eh?! The fuck ya' whisperin' about?? Speak up, fucker!"
Your hand moves to your side, and grips Chaos' handle. You raise your voice for the first time in a long while.
>"You are annoying. Stop talking."
You can't tell if she's amused or shocked, she looks incredulous for a moment, and then spreads a huge grin across her face.
>"Eh… heheh… heheheh… AHAHAHAHAH!"
She grips her saw by one handle and lifts the other side into the air. At first it flops around like a piece of paper, but in an instant it straightens itself, solidifies, and comes crashing down on top of you. Quickly, you pull Chaos out of his sheathe and use him to block the falling saw. You feel your legs straining under the weight, it feels like you're trying to block a huge fallen tree with your sword.
>"AHH! IT HURTS, IT HURTS! QUICK KINDRED SPIRIT GET OUTTA HERE!! QUIIICK!"
Screams your talking sword, slightly bendig under this weight. You jump back and let the saw fall to the ground, crushing the table you were standing at with no difficulty. The woman looks at you with a manic expression on her face.
>"Good! GOOD!! I like ya' defiance! This here Bloodsuckin' Cross Saw was startin' to get hungry anyways!"
>"Ey bozo, if ya' mess with the boss ya' mess with all 'o us!"
>"Yeah you fucker! The Flower Gang is gonna take over Helman! We're not afraid of some literal-who with a weird looking sword!"

Your eyes quickly dart around the room, looking at each one of the thugs surrounding you. You notice the one to your far right bend his knees, indicating he's going to jump. You ready Chaos and, sure enough, catch him mid air with an upward swing, cutting his chin right down the middle, a spray of blood painting the ceiling red.
Another two get ready to attack, you kick the one coming in front of you to the side and send him flying towards the wall, immediately you swing your sword towards someone else coming at you from the left, who falls down to the ground, clutching the right side of his face while screaming, unlucky.
You look back towards the boss of the gang, Elena Flower, and see her and two other grunts stuffing their clothes with the GOLD coins that were on top of their table. While you are distracted, another gang member comes up behind and tries to stab you in the back, you quickly spin to the left, dodging the stab, and using the momentum you swing Chaos horizontally into the man's side and push him against the wall, driving the blade further into his stomach.
You look back to the boss again, she's now wearing one of the robes from her deceased minions, and she's escaping through the window! Most of her troupe is escaping with her, but some are staying behind to hold you back, surprisingly loyal for a bunch of street thugs.
>"H-Hannypold! Stop her!!"
You can't remember the last time you've screamed, but this is an emergency.
>"Haniho!"
He screams from the entrance, preparing a Hanny Flash. As soon as the girl is within his vision, he shoots the flash. Elena suddenly tumbles forwards, GOLD coins falling out of her pockets as she does.
>"Aargh! Shit, that hurt! Who the fuck- Agh!"
Another Hanny Flash is shot by Hannypold, the magical wave hitting her in the back of the head, making her slam her face against the ground. The Green Hanny approaches the girl with his trident, ready to stab her.
>"D-Damn clay pot, get off me!"
Elena quickly gets up and swings her saw up and down, like someone cleaning up their dirty carpet, which causes a gust of wind to suddenly knock the Hanny back, making him fall flat on his face on the hard concrete sidewalk a few meters away.
You kick the last one of the grunts through the entrance door and run outside, noticing your Hanny down cold on the floor and that the escapees are nowhere to be seen, however, a trail of coins on the ground gives you a clue where they might have gone. You follow the trail and reach a robed figure trying to climb a tall fence, without thinking twice, you toss Chaos into the person's back and watch them lose balance and fall to the floor, it's not her, just another grunt. You rip your sword out of his back, grab all of the (probably stolen) GOLD inside his pockets, and walk back to the bar, feeling defeated.

>"Ah, d-don't worry about this Leo, it's fine you can just go."
You return to seeing Mr Nikolai cleaning up the mess you left behind, you wish you could've fought them outside, but there wasn't anything you could've done. He looks visibly distressed, if some city guard walks around the street and notices this mess he'll get some time for sure. You decide to try to help him-
>"I said it's fine!"
You can't tell if he's angry at you or at himself, but you feel bad either way. You leave the money you got from the thug in front of the door and walk away, hopefully it's enough for a new table.

You hadn't noticed because of all the fighting, but the sun is setting, time to go home. You grab your unconscious Hanny friend and walk towards your humble lair.
Luckily you fought those monsters earlier in the day, so you have plenty of miscellaneous monster parts ready to make a meal. As you dry a ripped apart Squidman arm and leave half of a Goldfish' face in the frying pan for a few minutes, you check Hannypold for any sign of damage, unfortunately a crack has formed under his left eye from the fall, but that's pretty much it, it should heal in a week, but if he hurts that spot again he might get his entire face cracked open.
>"H-HANIHO!"
Just as you're looking at him, Hannypold wakes up and swings his trident all around in a panicked state. You rub your hand against his head, you think that's called a "headpat", and that seems to calm him down.
Once your food is ready, you sit down at your crummy table and start eating. You're unsure if Haniwa need to eat, so you give Hannypold a piece of your Squidman arm as a test. He does indeed put it inside his mouth, but you have no idea if he needs to eat or if he's just copying you, looks like you'll have to figure that out some other time.

You go to bed later than usual, beating yourself up over the bar fight. You have a strange dream, everything is black, but you can faintly hear voices in the distance.
>"...aster Ludo… …tert…ing… you?"
>"Yes ind…d, …mans ar…"
You wake up, feeling slightly rejuvenated after yesterday's scuffle. It's time to start a new day, what do you do?

You walk into the best shop in town to get some items for your quest. You don't like this shop since they switch out the shopkeeper every few days, which makes you quite nervous, but it's the place with the best gear in town so you have no choice.
Luckily, everyone from around here is as poor as you are, so most items are actually pretty affordable.

You put all of your GOLD coins on the counter and silently point at the shelf of Return Bonsai behind the shopkeeper. He counts the coins and hands you your Bonsai.

>Return Bonsai acquired! (-200 G)

You get ready to leave the store when the shopkeeper speaks up.
>"Y'know, I've had those bonsai up here for the entire last year, and you're the first person to buy one. People too focused on hunger and war and whatnot to go adventuring in dungeons like we old folk did when we were kids I suppose."
>"..."
>"The silent treatment huh? If you're going to go adventuring you should open up a little to others, have a little fun y'know?"
>"...uh huh."
You leave the store.

Your quest now officially begins. You have your equipment, a new monster pet, and a plan. Mr Nikolai suggested Little Princess may be in Leazas, and that definitely would make sense. You decide that your new plan is to go to Leazas and investigate. Only problem is, how to get there. It's not too far away, however there are two huge obstacles in the way, the mountain line between Helman and Leazas, and the Shangri-La desert that connects all four countries.
You're sure you can walk to Volgo Z, Helman's most prospering metropolis, by foot, should only take about a day. However, to get to Leazas you'd either have to also walk by foot all the way through the mountains, which could take days, or you could hire a cow carriage to take you either to the city of Rich through the desert, or to the city of Maunes through the mountains. Walking through Shangri-La isn't an option, you've heard the stories of refugees from Helman and Zeth dying only a few hours after entering the desert, only a few people seem to know their way through there, and you're not one of them.

What do you do once you get to Volgo Z?
>Go through the mountains by foot, risky but maybe you can kill some monsters on the way (2-3 days of travel)
>Kill some monsters outside of town until nighttime and hire a carriage to go through the mountains, should arrive in the morning (12 hours of travel)

You and Hannypold pack your things and get set for adventure! You assume you won't be home for a while, so you grab as much as you can (food, bowls, bottles, etc) before leaving. Your bag ends up getting a bit too full, so you grab another bag, fill it with some of the less important items, and have your Hanny friend carry it around, you say goodbye to your home and lock the door.
On your way to the entrance to Sudori 13, you walk past Mr Nikolai's bar, looks like he's closed for the day. You hope he isn't mad at you for that messy bar fight, your number of friends is limited enough as it is.

The journey to Volgo Z is relatively peaceful, you encounter some regular old monsters along the way, but you and Hannypold have no problem taking them down, they provide some nice food for the trip as well. As the night falls, you start a simple campfire and relax under the moonlight. Hannypold sleeps early, must be his wild monster instincts kicking in, you have no idea how Haniwa think but, as you look at his sleeping face, you hope he's happy.
>"AAH HOT! HOOOOOTHOTHOTHOT!!!!"
You try to roast some severed monster parts over the fire with your blade, but he won't stop screeching, you REALLY need to get a better sword.

You reach Volgo Z early in the morning, a bit earlier than you expected in fact. You're not even inside the town, but you can already hear people screaming at each other and hundreds of carriage wheels turning inside the city walls. Better to not go inside, it'll probably give you a headache, you have no idea how someone could enjoy a loud, busy city life like this. You decide instead to spend the day hunting monsters around the Helman plains, getting enough cash for a ride all the way to Maunes, on the other side of the mountains. You've never been outside Helman, so you are a little bit nervous about what it could be like, you hope it's a bit quieter than Volgo Z at least.

As the sun begins to set, you and Hannypold deliver a simultaneous attack on a Squidman, stabbing him from both sides. You count your money and, sure enough, you can finally afford a ride. You quickly run to the nearest available cow carriage, silently point to a map and look at the couchman with pleading eyes, hoping he can lend you a ride. You must've looked desperate, because the man seemed to assume that you were a refugee trying to escape Helman, he gives you a discount for that, so you decide not to argue against it. (+50 G)

The carriage is surprisingly comfortable for one that seemingly is used to transporting illegal refugees around, though the smell is about what you expect. You decide to leave Chaos unsheathed for a while, it seems like he feels kind of cramped inside the sheathe, under the condition that he won't talk while you try to sleep. In fact, you've noticed that Chaos has been speaking way less lately, maybe he's finally getting used to your way of being-
>"Wow kindred spirit, can't believe we're finally starting the adventure! I love stabbing monsters and all that, but stabbing the Demon King is gonna be AWESOME. And with a name like "Little Princess", I mean I don't wanna hype myself up or anything, but what if she's a total hottie?! Oh yeah man, I'm all fired up now!!"
…or maybe you've just been mentally blocking his speeches more than usual lately. You want to shut him up, but you feel too tired to do so, so you simply close your eyes and try to fall asleep.

…something's wrong. You open your eyes again, everything's dark, it must be night. You can't hear the wheels of the carriage turning anymore, did you arrive already? Or is this a dream?
>"...heey… pssst, can you hear me…?"
Chaos is whispering quietly to you, yep, definitely must be a dream.
>"...quick, pick me up…! …I think we may be fucked…!"
You pick up Chaos and peek outside the carriage. You're definitely somewhere in the mountains. The cow carriage is carefully parked and the cows are sleeping on the floor, the coachman is nowhere to be seen.
You step outside slightly and look around, your night vision is quite poor, but luckily the moon is quite bright today. You notice footsteps in the muddy ground leading from the front of the carriage to somewhere else a bit further ahead, must've been him. For some reason, Chaos is now making weird sniffing noises, like he had just smelled something for a second and is now trying to find that smell again.

What do you do?
>Stay inside the carriage
>Carefully follow the footsteps, something is wrong here

You cautiously follow the footprints on the ground. It's dark, but the moonlight reflecting on the mud is surprisingly bright. After walking straight for a few seconds you notice on the ground, a dead soldier. From the symbol on his armor you can tell, he's from Leazas, probably some kind of border patrol or something that's stationed in the mountains, it's too dark to tell the cause of death. The footprints at this point become more erratic, he was either running in fear or something was following him. After a minute of following the footsteps again, they suddenly stop, you can't even find the body of the man-
>*thunk*
While walking, you accidentaly bump into something hard. You focus your vision, it seems to be a structure or something, about 4 to 5 meters tall. Made of metal.
>...mm…?"
A female voice comes out of the structure, shit! You quickly run in a random direction, find a wide bush, and hide behind it.
>"M-Master Redeye!"
Another person runs at the figure from the distance, from the silhouette it seems to be a Monster Soldier, the Monster Army's main, basic soldier. You've never seen one in real life before, but you've learned about them at the academy, they may not be incredibly tough, but they can take down an average human soldier really easily. He approaches the giant figure and speaks to them hurriedly.
>"Master Redeye! An urgent report from Master La Saizel! Little Princess has been spotted at the Leazas city of North, sir!"

The big figure takes a while to answer.
>"...HUH?"
>"W-were you sleeping, sir?"
>"Si-LENCE, re-PEAT re-PORT."
That doesn't sound like the female voice you heard, maybe there are two people in there?
>"A-Ah I'm sorry sir! As I was saying, Master La Saizel has spotted Little Princess in the city of North sir! Master Rei is investigating the area as we speak. If I may, I suggest we meet with him on the outskirts of town and plan a pincer attack strategy, sir!"
>"...ac-CEPTA-ble, let us MOVE im-MEDIA-tely-"
>A-A-Actually sir…"
The soldier speaks up to his commander, Redeye, who turns to him in an irritanted manner.
>"T-T-The forces of Leazas should notice the absence of the border patrol in a couple of hours, we should find another hiding spot further back in the mountains, wait until nighttime comes again, and sneak our way into-"
>"...Wai-TING? Snea-KING??"
>A-Ahh…"
He's wearing armor, but you feel like you can still see the soldier visibly sweat from here.
>"AH-HA-HA-HA! No wai-TING! No snea-KING! ME's body STRONG! Crush hu-MANS like in-SECTS! We move to-DAY! O-KAY?!"
>"P-P-Please listen, Master Redeye! We still don't know the location of the Dark Sword Chaos or the Light Blade Nikkou, it's too risky to move in without carefully investigating the area first-"
>"HA-HA-HA! Pu-NY sword is no match for ME's bo-DY! We move to-DAY! O-KAY?!"
>"S-Sir please! If we move in without thinking, Mrs Rona might get killed!"
The soldier points at something laying down in front of Redeye, you can't see what is is from here. This makes the giant figure pause for a moment.
>"...ac-CEPTA-ble, let us re-TREAT. O-KAY?"
>"W-Wonderful sir! I'll go alert the others!"
The Monster Soldier runs off to the direction he came from. Redeye seems pensive for a moment. As the morning sunlight starts to seep in, you notice the details of his body, it seems to be some kind of giant metallic creature. Redeye suddenly gets up, this sudden movement scares you, so you hide further inside the bush.
>"...yeah I knew I smelled something familiar…"
Chaos is whispering in your hand.
>"...that's Dark Lord Redeye… he's like a weird parasite thing that attaches itself to stuff and controls them… that big robot's probably something he found lying around…"
The giant robotic body gets up on his feet, grabbing something, probably that Mrs Rona that was mentioned earlier, that was laying down next to him and forcing her to her feet, you can't get a good look at the girl due to the giant robot being in the way.
>"Ro-NA, let us MOVE!"
>"Y-Yes, master…"

You are hiding inside of a bush, Chaos in hand. What do you do?

You lean further into the other side of the bush and try to inspect the woman more closely, you can see her clearly now. Her hair is completely disheveled, and she's wearing what could hardly be considered clothes. Her eyes are dead, and she has an overall sickly appearance.
Both of your eyes meet. Crap, she noticed you! You instinctively put a finger to your mouth in a shushing manner, hoping she will be kind enough to comply. Strangely enough, she repeats the motion back at you, smiling slightly, you feel relieved. She's probably not one of the bad guys, probably.
>"Ro-NA, let us MOVE!!"
The giant robotic Dark Lord repeats what he said previously, now with an even stronger emphasis on the "MOVE" part. She immediately shifts her attention to him and complies, she's clearly some kind of captive.

The two strangers move to a different area in the mountains, and you should probably do so too before you're blamed for all the dead bodies on the floor. You quickly run back to the carriage, grab Hannypold (who was now awake, and very worried about where you were) and head forward on foot towards Maunes, turns out you were stopped only a few dozen minutes away from your destination.
You see the city in the distance, since it's so far away from the Leazas capital it's not incredibly populated, but it still has more people than what your average Helman village has.
You remember the words that the Dark Lord and his subordinate spoke, apparently Demon King Little Princess is in the city of North, a city that is quite close to Maunes. If they will be coming in through the mountains, they will probably have to pass through Maunes first, and you doubt they will leave the city without causing some sort of harm. You are awful with words, but maybe you can warn the guards in some other way?
>Try to do some sign language with the town gate guards, maybe they'll understand the message

You quickly pull a pen and paper out of your bag and write down a note.
>Dark Lord Redeye will come through the mountains during the night. Evacuating the citizens or preparing the city's defenses is recommended. If you don't believe me, try checking in with the border patrol.
You wish you knew fancier words to make this sound a bit more believable, they don't exactly teach you anything like that at Helman schools, but you think that last part will convince them just fine.
You pass through the city gates and let the letter slip through your fingers and fall to the floor. You look back slightly, the gate guard takes a few seconds to notice it, but then picks it up and starts reading. Mission accomplished! You pat yourself on the back and continue further into the town.

You are in the city of Maunes, one of the least populated cities of Leazas, but still quite busy by Helman standards. The amount of people on the streets is making you sweat a little, you're not used to worrying about this many eyes. Some of them seem to look at you in a worried or disgusted way, you quickly realize what's happening and run to a nearby alleyway. Your Helman armor might be giving them the wrong impression. After the Helman invasion of Leazas a couple years back, the survivors would probably wish any Helman soldier death on the spot, you can't say you blame them. You remove your armor and start walking around town with a mud-covered shirt and ripped up pants on. Great, now you look even more poor than usual.

Dark Lord Redeye will probably attack the city tonight, you doubt you have enough time or energy to farm up some EXP. What do you do?
>Walk around town aimlessly until night falls, maybe you'll stumble into something good
>Find some odd jobs to do around town. Will tire you out, but buying more items is always good

You walk aimlessly around town with Hannypold. You know next to nothing about Leazas cities, so you're not sure what to do. The quality of their bars and restaurants definitely exceeds what you had imagined, but unfortunately you have no money to enjoy it. You quietly sit down and munch on a potato you brought from home with a sad look on your face.
Suddenly you hear footsteps sneaking up behind you, you quickly turn around, ready for an attack-
>"Heya there!"
It's just a woman, nevermind. You sit back down again and continue eating. She walks up to Hannypold and starts rubbing his head.
>"Hehehe, what a cuuute Hanny you have here!"
>"Haniho!"
>"He can't speak? Must be a wild Hanny then… But wait, if you're just walking around town with a captured wild Hanny… that must mean-"
Crap. You forgot monster tamers are extremely uncommon in Leazas, she probably figured out you're from Helman. You prepare yourself for a barrage of insults.
>"-you're from the Haniwa Temple too?! Ooh I sure am fortunate, thank you Hanny King!"
She makes some weird gestures with her hands. It's worse than you thought, she's from that strange Haniwa Temple cult that's been getting popular recently.
>"My name is Corin Coccorin. Why didn't you say so sooner?! Oh I wish I brought one of my wild Haniwa on this trip to Leazas so they could be friends…"
This conversation has already gone on for more time than you had hoped for. You decide to get up again, maybe you can slip away while she's distracted.
>"Hey! So, can I see your Hanny Card?!"
Bad news, she gets even closer to your face. Her breathing sounds a bit too excited.
>"...ah… um…"
>"...Oh no no no no. Don't tell me you lost it somewhere?!"
She still looks extremely happy, but you can feel a murderous intent that wasn't there earlier. Cultists are scary…
>"Ohhh… you're lucky I always carry around some spares for new members. Ooh Hanny King, please forgive this clumsy man."
She's doing the strange motions with her hand again, is this some kind of prayer?
You grab the card, suddenly its color changes to green, and a few markings appear on its surface.
>"Only three good Haniwa deeds?! Ooh, I am so sorry, I thought you were a well established member of the Temple like myself! I apologize for expecting too much from you… Well, it's never too late! Keep doing good deeds for Hannykind, and I promise good fortune will come your way! Goodbye, quiet stranger, may the Hanny King bless you!"
Looking slightly disappointed, Corin says some encouraging words and leaves in a hurry. You might have broken her heart slightly, but you don't really care.

You decide to follow the guards to the city gates, you want to make sure they have enough forces to keep the incoming invasion at bay.
When you arrive at the entrance to the town, you notice something unexpected. A couple dozen members of the Leazas Purple Army, their Mage Corps, are stationed at the entrance, planning out some kind of strategy. In the middle is their General, Chama Cadmium, who, due to a witch's curse, has to be worn like a cape by his granddaughter, Asuka Cadmium, age 5.
>"Alright fellas, they're coming. Remember to stick to your role, don't do anything unnecessary! Light mages on top of the city walls, everyone else here with me-"
>"*yaaaawn*... Grandpa… I'm sleepyyy~..."
>"J-Just wait a second Asuka, we'll be done with this in no time, I promise. Now, get ready to cast some spells."
>"Okaaay~…"

You look over in the distance, a big group of Monster Soldiers are marching towards Maunes. It's a big number of enemies, but not big enough to be called a full scale attack. Makes sense, since they're only passing through and their real objective is in North. They probably didn't think one of the Leazas Armies would be here, even if it's the weakest one.
They're only a few meters away from the gates, you feel the nervousness of the city guards around you, they definitely didn't think they'd be fighting a monster invasion today.
>"Wait… Wait… Now! Everyone, cast Sticky Floor!"
>"Sticky Floooor~"
>"STICKY FLOOR!"
With a shake of her magic wand, Asuka and her fellow soldiers cast the support magic Sticky Floor. Not expecting strong mages to be in this town, the Monster Soldiers panic and try to run forwards, but it's too late. The floor under their feet becomes sticky, and they all stumble and fall to the ground like dominoes. The spell only lasts a few minutes, but if you're caught in it it is extremely difficult to escape.
>"Great work! Now, you boys up there, cast Angel Cutter!"
>"Angel Cutteeer~"
>"ANGEL CUTTER!"
Asuka once again swings her wand, but this time sharp, bright blades made out of light come out of the tip, the mages on top of the city walls cast the same spell. The blades home in on their targets and rapidly attack the exposed spots in their armor. Without a way to defend themselves, the Monster Soldiers are pierced in all directions by the spell, and stop moving.

But the fight isn't over yet, you notice another, much smaller wave of about 6 monsters coming in from the side, must be some stragglers. You ready Chaos and jump into the action, while the city guards stand there in fear. You quickly stab one of them in the chest, this normally would stop a human, but Monster Soldiers are relentless. The enemy tries to attack you with its gigantic ax, you pull Chaos out of his chest and, by a hair's breath, dodge the attack and stab it in the neck, which seems to do the trick.
The other 5 monsters surround you and ready their weapons, you realize you might have gotten a bit too excited and acted without thinking. Luckily, the city guards seem to have gathered up their courage, they courageously dash towards the enemies and attack them with all they got. In a flash the battle is over.

>"*sniff sniff*...don't celebrate just yet dumbass, I smell the big boss coming in…"
Chaos is right. A huge, robotic figure emerges from the distance. Dark Lord Redeye, a parasitic machine that can take over other machines, and even living creatures.
>"HA-HA-HA-HA-HA"
His loud laughter echoes through the area, you feel the guards around you lose their motivation all over again.
>"Again! Sticky Ground!"
>"Sticky Grooound~"
Once again, the mages cast Sticky Ground, this time on the floor underneath Redeye's body.
>"HA-HA-HA-HA, PU-NY MAGIC PO-WER! WEEEEE-AAAAK"
The automaton is completely unphased, once again he lifts his legs up to continue walking, and the ground stuck to his feet simply lifts up alongside them.
>"Light mages, prepare a White Destruction Beam, quickly! Everyone else, Earth Shift!"
>"Earth Shiiit~!"
>"Shift Asuka, shift!"
>"Teehee~"
The earth around Redeye bends around his feet, trying to impede his progress, but it is once again futile. The Dark Lord simply smashes every obstacle in his path. He is now only two meters away from the gates.
>"HA-HA-HA! ME SHOW HU-MANS TRUE MAGIC PO-WER! OB-SERVE!!"
The robot lifts up his gigantic left hand, a dark circle in the middle of his palm suddenly lights up, orange like a campfire.
>"Crap! Cast a barrier everyone!"
All the mages on the ground simultaneously cast a gigantic barrier, covering the entire gate. The light in his palm quickly turns into a beam of light, it has no trouble breaking through the barrier. You close your eyes to block out the bright light, but, out of the corner of your eye, you see human hands, arms and heads flying.
>"W-WAAAAHH!!"
>"W-Wait Asuka, we can't run away from this! No! Bad girl! Baaaad!"
Asuka runs into the city, crying her eyes out and casting an invisibility spell, you can't say you blame her.
The city guards try to stop the mechanical monster, but it is useless. His gigantic hand turns into a fist and crashes into the ground, smashing half a dozen guards into paste. You look up above, the remaining soldiers of the Purple Army are still trying to cast a White Destruction Beam, but the absence of their General and their panicked state of mind is making them lose focus. What can you even do??

You gallantly run towards the giant robot, Chaos in hand. You're the only one that can penetrate the Dark Lord's invincibility barrier, without you this city will perish for sure.
>"HA-HA-HA-HA-HA! HU-MANS WEAK! WE-AK! MAKE DRAMA! MAKE DRAAA-MAAAA!!"
Luckily he seems too busy gloating to pay attention to you. You quickly approach him and stab at the inner wiring, exposed between the foot and the leg of the machine.
>"HA-HA-HA- WWOAAAH. WHAT IS HAPP[[InvBarrier.exe has encountered a fatal error]]ENING?!"
For a split second the entire robot is covered in a bright glow, which then dissipates with the sound of shattering glass. The invincibility barrier has been breached.
>"AAH-AAAHH-AH… HU-MAN CHEA-TING!! IMPO-SSIBLE! ME'S BO-DY IS THE STRONGEST! ME CA-NNOT BE BEATEN! CHEA-TER!! CHEA-TER!!!"
In a moment of fury, the Dark Lord raises his arm and prepares another laser attack. In a second, palm of his hand is glowing and ready to fire. Your entire life flashes before your eyes at this very moment. No way to avoid it, no way to block it. It's over.
>"H-Haniho!"
You open your eyes back up and look in front of you in surprise. Hannypold has jumped in the way of the laser, and his Hanny properties are causing the laser to reflect into the sky above.
>"F-F-FILTHY HANI-WA, ANTI MA-GIC CREA-TURES HAVE NO PLA-CE IN ME'S WO-RLD!! BE-GONE!!!"
He turns his open palm into a fist and raises it high into the air, intending to smash Hannypold to pieces.

>"White Destruction Beeeeam!"
The Purple Army, who had been charging their ultimate attack up until now, managed to launch it at the opponent. The bright white laser pierces directly through the automaton's shoulder, disconnecting the raised arm from his body.
>"...ah…w-watch out!"
You scream uncharacteristically without thinking, the huge arm is going to fall right on top of Hannypold! You propel yourself forwards at lightning pace and push him, both of you falling to the floor as the arm crashes into the ground.
>"A-AAH A-AAH!! ME'S BO-DY WEAK!! TOO WE-AK!!! ME SHALL RETURN, DEFEAT CHEA-TER THAT U-SES CHA-OS!! CHEEA-TEEEER!!!"
The giant robot suddenly collapses on the spot, falling to the ground like a dead body. Redeye lifts himself out of his usual spot in the robot with his many wriggling tentacles and falls to the floor. You quickly dash to try to stab him, but some kind of fast flying blue shadow grabs him before you can even perceive it, and continues flying back towards the mountains you came from.
>"Aaaah damnit! We almost had one of them!! Almost!"
Screams Chaos, clearly disappointed. You, on the other hand, feel quite proud of yourself. Obviously it was just due to a coincidental amount of positive factors, but you managed to ward off a Dark Lord invasion, and lived!
>"Haniho!"
Hannypold hops towards you with a happy haniho, you smile slightly and pet his head. You hear something in your bag making noise, it's the Hanny Card. Before there were 3 markings on it, but now there are 5.

A Dark Lord has been warded off, but your work isn't done quite yet. You remember the Monster Soldier mentioning at least two other Dark Lords in the next town over, and supposedly Demon King Little Princess is right in that same town. What do you do for now?

You and Hannypold walk back inside Maunes, looking for the runaway girl and her General grandpa. You would run, but after that fight your legs feel like they might snap at any second.
>"*sniff sniff* …uuu…"
Even with an invisibility spell on, you find her pretty easily, hidden behind a trash can in an alleyway, sobbing loudly.
>"...h-hey…"
You blurt out awkwardly as you touch her head. She flinches slightly, but then turns off her spell and looks up.
>"Hey hey! Don't touch my granddaughter without permission! Who are you?"
Her grandpa, Chaka, is being very protective of her, not like he can do anything to protect her.
>"A-Ah, General there you are! Oh, and you're here too…"
A member of the Purple Army runs up behind you and looks into the alleyway.
>"Do you know this man?"
>"I-I don't know who he is, but he helped us take down Dark Lord Redeye, sir!"
>"What?! This man faced a Dark Lord head on and lived?!"
>"Y-Yes sir…"
Chaka looks at you in utter disbelief, it is pretty hard to believe, considering you aren't even wearing your armor. To them you probably just look like a street beggar or something.
>"M-Mister… you beat the bad guy…?"
Asks Asuka, who seems to be slowly recovering from her scared state.
>"...uh… y-yeah…"
You respond quietly, she suddenly has a huge smile on her face.
>"Hehehe, good work! *clap clap*"
She waves her magic wand in the air, and a small blast of confetti shoots out of the tip. The confetti suddenly flies at high speed, entering the space between the fingers of your clenched hand. You raise your hand and open it, there's a pink candy inside.
>"Heheh~"
You smile. Kids' smiles really are contagious.
The remaining members of the army reunite and start discussing something. You look at the candy in the palm of your hand, it's a cute gift, but you're not much of a sugar fan.
You unwrap the candy and toss it into Hannypold's mouth. You don't know if Haniwa are allowed to eat sugar, but he seems to enjoy it. You hear another marking being added to your Hanny Card.

>"I-I'm slightly skeptical, but if you really helped out against Redeye, the least I can do is help you out too. Do you… need anything?"
You think for a moment.

You (very awkwardly) explain that you want a ride to North.
>"Oh, that's it? That actually works out perfectly then! Leazas Castle is in that direction anyways. We were supposed to be going there right now, but protecting this town from the Monster Army was more important. Regardless, meet us at the gates in an hour and we'll depart right away."
The Purple Army and its General walk away. Your legs give out and you fall to the floor. What a heck of a day. You grab the last potato you had from your bag and munch on it a bit, you'll probably need to get some money soon or you will starve to death. Hannypold lays down next to you.
An hour later, you hop onto the (much more luxurious than the previous one) Leazas army cow carriage and, finally, you can close your eyes and sleep. Killing monsters is fun and all, but talking to this many people and slaying giant robots is a bit too much for you.

>"Hey, we're here."
It feels like no time passed at all when you open your eyes again. You step outside the carriage, you are in front of the city of North. You can hear the people inside, now THIS is the level of activity you expect out of a Leazas town. You are kind of scared.
>"Well, this is where you get off… uh… What's your name again?"
>"...L-Leo…pold… sir…"
Ah I see. Well Leopold, good luck with whatever you want to do. Goodbye.
>"Ah! W-wait…"
You suddenly call Chaka back with an uncharacteristically loud voice. You just realized, since he's from the Leazas Army he can probably help you out with the whole "use your armor in public" situation.
You explain to him what you want.
>"Ah, I see, I see. Well, you're lucky you already got my trust, if you had told me you were from Helman when we first met I would have blasted you all the way back, haha!"
You don't laugh.
>"Don't be mean to him grandpa! Bad bad!"
Asuka hits him a few times with her fist, you smile.
>"A-Ah ouch ouch! Ok ok I get it! *ahem* Anyways, I don't have anything on hand really, I suppose I could give you a note with my signature… If I could write…"
>"I can write!"
Asuka waves her wand, and pen and paper comes out of the tip. She writes her name(?) in… letters… you think? It's definitely a word… probably.
>"A-ahaha… I don't think that's gonna work Asuka…"
>"Awww… how about this then?"
She waves her wand again, you feel something happening to you, but you can't see what it is.
>"Ah… well I'm not sure if we're allowed to do that but… he DOES look more Leazish now, I guess it's ok…"
You can't tell what happened, but it seems like she put some kind of camouflage spell on you that makes you look like the average Leazas townsfolk, no matter what you're wearing.

>Got camouflage field!
>Got Asuka's signature!

Asuka waves you goodbye and the Purple Army continues their journey to Leazas Castle. You hope they don't get in trouble for helping you out, even if it's just with a ride and an easily detectable spell.

You put on your armor again and face the gates of the town of North, apparently the Demon King and two Dark Lords are lurking somewhere here, this town is probably in danger. What do you do?

You decide to kill some monsters on the outskirts of town with Hannypold before going inside the town. Can't walk in there without a single coin in your pocket.
The monsters around here are way easier to kill than back in Helman, and you notice a significantly smaller amount of them. The town guards must be doing a good job.

>Got 150 GOLD!
>Leopold is now Lv 20!
>Hannypold is now Lv 8!

After an hour of hunting monsters with your Hanny, you decide to go into North and continue your quest. But right as you're about to turn around, you notice something. A Hanniko and a Frozen are fighting over the corpse of a Goldfish, presumably for sustenance. The Hanniko is way too weak to harm the Frozen, but her ice magic attacks also cannot affect the Hanniko, it seems to be a stalemate of two weak monsters.
You think for a moment, you have yet to see Hannypold fight without your help. Both of these monsters are pretty weak, but it should be enough just to see him in action. You tell Hannypold to

You order Hannypold to attack the Frozen. It's pretty much impossible for him to lose this battle.
>"Hani-ho!"
Hannypold shoots a Hanny Flash at the Frozen, the energy wave hits the gal monster like a Black Destruction Beam and she falls to the ground, seemingly unconscious. To an adult man like yourself, a Hanny Flash hurts just as much as receiving a punch to the chest, but to a small gal monster like this Frozen it must feel like a cow is running her over.
Hannypold stabs his trident into the Frozen multiple times, she stops breathing a few seconds later.
>"Hanihoooooo!!"
Hannypold grabs the Goldfish off of the floor and strikes a goofy victory pose, that's a bit over the top.
>"H-Haniho~..."
Oh? The Hanniko waddles towards Hannypold in an embarrassed fashion.
>"Haniho?! H-Hani-..."
>Haniho~"
Suddenly, the Hanniko embraces Hannypold in a tight hug, he looks at you in a panicked manner.
>"H-Ha-Haniho…"
>"Haniho~~... Ha!"
Surprise! The Hanniko quickly reaches for the Goldfish in Hannypold's hand(?), grabs it, and rolls down the hill at high speed, like a barrel.
>"Hani…ho…"
Hannypold curls into a sad ball. You pat his head, assuring your Hanny friend that he will have other chances in the future. A new marking has been added to your Hanny Card (now there's 7 in there, you wonder what the purpose of these are?)

Dividing this into 4 choices

>Option A [Saving money and space]
Hanny King Statue
Puryo Bites
5 Potatoes
(90 G remaining)

>Option B [Saving money]
Hanny King Statue
Puryo Bites
10 Potatoes
Treasure Chest
(80 G remaining)

>Option C [Food focused]
Hanny King Statue
Puryo Bites
20 Potatoes
10 Carrots
Treasure Chest
(10 G remaining)

>Option D [Fight focused]
Hanny King Statue
Puryo Bites
5 Potatoes
Standard Sword
Makeshift Shield
Treasure Chest
(10 G remaining)

(Would a Pastebin to keep track of items, money and party members be necessary? Or would it be a waste of time since this is more of a story-focused quest?)
>>
>>5691724
>Option C [Food focused]
Pastebin is entirely up to you QM. But it could be useful for anons to check back at, and potentially have less questions about inventory from players.
>>
>>5691724
>Option D [Fight focused]
>>
>>5691724
>Option D [Fight focused]
Since we have some inventory, stats and people to keep track of, a pastebin would be useful.

We can get a sword later down the line, with this we should be good to travel a little while.

I want the bouncy shield as the offhand, can't do that in the future witha second sword.

>got Hanny King Statue!
>got a bag of Puryo Bites!
>got 20 Potatoes!
>got 10 Carrots!
>got a Treasure Chest!

You put all of your newly acquired items in your bag… except for the treasure chest. You're not sure what to do with this honestly, it's way too big and heavy to carry, and it keeps twitching in a weird way.
You gather up your courage, hold Chaos in your hand and try to open the chest, maybe it's just a monster locked in there or something-
>"Hiyaaa!!"
Worse, it's a person. More specifically, a woman wearing some kind of highly impractical bikini armor. You don't see much of those in Helman, but you hear they're super popular in the Free Cities, for whatever reason.
>"Hehe, hiya stranger~... Did it work? Did you get spooked out? Did I look like a Mimic??"
Even worse, a talkative person. You put your sword away and get ready to leave.
>"I'm sure you're curious, right? Well y'see, I'm REAL good at playing Mimic, as you could tell by my scary scream earlier, right? Anyways, I was tryin' to beat my Mimic mimicking high score, when suddenly I got locked inside that chest, can you believe it?? And then-"
You start walking away faster, you can tell she's one of THOSE types, and you'd rather not sit here until next week.
>"-oh yeah I forgot, my name's Tomato by the by! Tomato Purée! I own this teeny weeny shop in Custom- have you ever been to Custom? It's super nice! Well anyways, taking care of a shop got suuuuper boring, so now I go adventurin' instead! Y'see, ever since I was a kid, it was my dream to be a bard and sing songs for a hero…*ahem* Oooohh la-la-la-laaaaaa-"
You try to run away, but she somehow keeps appearing in front of you wherever you go. You decide to just mentally plug your ears and wait this out. She'll have to leave at some point.

Regardless, what are you going to do now?
>Walk around town randomly
>Enter the first bar you see to try to gather information on Little Princess
>Search for Dark Lords using Chaos
>Try to escape the woman
>Go fight monsters again
>>
>>5694119
Fuck I forgot the tripfagging AGAIN, I'm really not used to taking these on and off. Also ignore the super low quality Tomato image, it's the only one I could find of her in her adventurer outfit

After walking around town for a few minutes, you decide to enter the first bar you find. Maybe someone here has information that could help you find Little Princess-
>"-and there's this one time, I was getting some Return Wood from the forest, when outta NOWHERE Maria showed up-"
Oh god, she's still here…
>"-by the by, I'm not much of a drinking person…"
>"..."
>"...sooo I think I'm gonna wait outside…"
>"..."
>"Haniho!"
Hannypold suddenly speaks up.
>"Gwah! A Hanny!! Toryaahhh!!!!"
Tomato lifts her sword and tries to attack Hannypold without a second thought. Did she really not notice him until now?? You easily block her attack with Chaos, she's pretty weak.
>"...what are ya doing here anyways? Didn't ya just but food at the shop?"
And now she's just back to talking like nothing happened…
>"We're trying to find the Demon King, madame!"
>"WOAH! Talking sword?! Coooool! I could sell this for like, a billion GOLD if I had it!"
>"That's her first thought when she sees me…*sniff sniff*"
Your head feels like it's pounding, you need to finish this adventure up, fast.
>"So you're looking for info the old fashioned way huh?! Well, don't worry about it, I can help! I may not look like it, but I love to talk to other people! And you huh… clearly don't… Anyways! I'll find info real quick, trust me!"
Tomato walks towards a man sitting in the corner of the bar drinking by himself, hidden in shadows. Is that really the first person you go to ask for information?!
>"H-Hey, kindred spirit, I don't wanna alarm you, but I feel some uh… Dark Lord-ey sorta smell coming from that guy…"
Why didn't you say that earlier?! What the hell do you do now?
>Let her go by herself
>Go together with her
>Send Hannypold with her
>Drag her back mid conversation
>Leave the bar

You turn around and think for a second, but then turn back around again and go help her just in case, gotta be a hero I guess…
>"Heya howdy sir! My name's Tomato, me and my buddy are looking for the Demon King! Do you uh… know something about that- AGH!*bzzt bzzt*"
Wow, she sure got straight to the point…
The man lifts his finger and a wave of electricity-based magic shoots out, zapping Tomato and sending her flying back and crashing into Hannypold in comedic fashion.
>"Aha! I knew that silhouette seemed familiar! My kindred spirit, that's Dark Lord Rei, the lightning demon!"
>"Oh… it's Chaos. What's up? You good?"
The man, Rei, seems pretty relaxed right now, but you have a feeling he could attack at any moment.
>"So, you guys are looking for our Little Princess, huh? Well, to be honest, I wish we had caught her by now, but she's got that damn coward protecting her all the time. And that bitch Satella too…"
Rei reaches for his drink and takes another shot, every one of his movements makes you flinch slightly.
>"Well anyways, you're probably going to stand in my way at some point, so might as well teach you a lesson real quick…"
The Dark Lord gets up from his seat, and an aura of blueish lightning appears around him, leaving burn marks in the wooden table and seat.
>"Not gonna go too hard on you, newbie. Just a one-on-one duel, 'k? Not a fan of using swords and stuff personally, but you can keep your little friend there, might actually be a challenge that way. Oh, and how about this? If you win, I'll tell you where I think she is, and if I win, I'll get your cutie companion there for myself, deal?"
This guy is clearly bad news, and he's a scumbag to boot!
You look around the bar, there are very few people, all adventurers, hanging around, but you can see burn marks all over their clothes and skin. They must have lost a duel with the Dark Lord, but this also means that he'll probably let you live if you lose… right? You could try some kind of strategy, but you doubt he'll go easy on a cheater. What will you do?
>Accept duel
>Reject duel and go away
>Accept duel and immediately give up (we didn't need Tomato anyways…)
>Consult with the group first (secretly formulate a secret strategy)
>Give Chaos to Tomato and ask her to duel him instead
>Surprise attack!!!!

Heya guys, just to warn everyone, I will not be able to write until next wednesday at the earliest, and the thread will definitely be at least on page 9 by then, so I think I'll leave on this cliffhanger and then immediately pick it back up from where you all left off next week. I actually originally planned to end it right after this fight but I just don't have the time or drive to write this week, after I come back I'll try to write more frequently too. Also I'll probably turn the Pastebin into a Google Doc so that I can edit it on the fly. See you soon.
