Welcome back.

Rules are simple: Votes are tallied every hour, with whatever course of action being the most popular being the course of action taken. Write ins are encouraged and non-mutually exclusive votes will be combined if possible.

When a roll is called for, roll however many D100 are specified. 5- is a 'crit fail' and generally means something bad is about to happen. 95+ is a 'crit success' and generally means something good just happened. a 'crit success' trumps a crit fail. User input on both will be taken into consideration.

For a short summary for the new and to recap:

You are Alex. A newly minted trainer and camping enthusiast just starting out on your journey at the age of seventeen after your father lost his job in order to help pay the bills. On the road, you met Fie, the Fire Gym Leader, Gareth a novice Aura Guardian on pilgrimage and Holly, a runaway heiress using a pseudonym. You've also made enemies of Team Green a group of violent, radical activists looking to abolish pokemon training.

Last time, you made friends with a flock of Wingull, returned to Saltcoast City, battled Mike and caught Gareth up on what happened on South Crescent island.

"Sure. I'm going to play with Nika for a bit." You reply, before heading down to one of the secondary courts.

Once there, you release her and are almost immediately tackled in a fierce hug by a very energetic Riolu.

You had an idea of doing some obedience training, but that falls by the wayside as you wrestle with Nika, rolling around on the arena floor and letting her win, occasionally admonishing her when she gets a little too rough, but generally, just having fun.

As it starts to get dark, you hoist Nika up to your shoulders and head back to the apartment before settling down to meditate with her.

It takes a little coaxing, but a little help from Gareth and his Riolu later and you and Nika are meditating together.

You're almost overwhelmed by how happy she is. It's difficult to really concentrate on much else, but that's okay. After so long apart, you're just happy that she's happy.

She unsurprisingly takes well to meditating, so you just focus on getting her acquainted with Aura for half an hour until Gareth calls that dinner's ready.

You do like your camp cooking, but there's just something to be said for a meal in the comfort of home on your return that makes camping all that much more fun in your view.

Soon enough, you've finished up and Nika's dozed off on the couch next to Cinder.

"So, you want me back in the Gym?" You ask Fie after you've been settled quietly watching the series Fie put on for about half an hour.

"Up to you. If you'd rather just focus on training for the next week or whatever, that's your decision." She replies. "You've earned it, in my book. And considering how you changed up your team, you probably could use a week catching the rest of your pokemon up." She notes.

"I'll join in in the afternoons. I'm going to keep on playing Gym Trainer." Gareth says.

"And Clytie and I are going to work on psychic practice." Holly adds, backed by a nod from Gardevoir.

"Agreed on a name then?" You ask.

I think i'll keep at it with the gym by rotating Blitz and Sage along with getting familiar with the gyms pokemon.
I'll do practice and play with my team in the afternoon and evening depending on how the day goes.
Maybe learn a bit about breeders work and pokemon care.
Aside from that i think i'll aim for another fire type.
A Litten or Torchick would be great for my team.

"Oh... that must make things easy." Holly admits.

"Mm. Anyway, I think I'll keep rotating Blitz and Sage in the mornings and help with the gym and train everyone else in the afternoon." You say. "Maybe get another fire type."

"Not until you've trained up more of your current team, you won't." Fie says. "You're making a pretty common rookie mistake - spreading yourself too thin. Train up the pokemon you have now first." She advises.

"Oh. Alright then." You reply.

You're abruptly reminded that you're still new to being a trainer.

Your success thus far has done wonders for your confidence but Fie's words have rather neatly brought you up short with the realisation that you actually can make mistakes.

She gives you a wry smile.

"Hey, we all start somewhere." She says.

You slip out of bed so as not to wake Gareth, before gathering up Blitz, Rusty and Nika's poke balls before heading down to the arena.

You set the former two to doing laps as speed training and a warm up, before settling down with Nika to do some more mediating after explaining the basic principles of Agility for her.

You settle into a comfortable meditative mindset with Nika as Rusty and Blitz begin to run.

Blitz quickly laps Rusty, before just as quickly pulling close to Rusty to start giving him pointers on how to move and run more effectively.

He's actually a pretty good teacher when he wants to be, it turns out and soon, sooner than you'd expected, Rusty has finished a lap and started on a second.

Blitz returns to running himself after that, but Rusty's clearly taken the advice to heart and spends the next fifteen minutes internalising it while you work with Nika.

She makes great strides on Agility as well and soon enough, she's got it down pat, around about the time Fie comes in with Cinder.

"Had a productive morning already, huh?" She asks.

"Well, let's keep it up, huh?" Fie suggests as Cinder squares up.

You nod, before setting Nika to doing some bag work while you spar.

In the meantime, you encourage Blitz and Rusty to keep running.

Things go pretty well - you're starting to get the hang of kickboxing and even managing to implement it more into your style and keep up with Cinder.

Blitz meanwhile, seems to have tuckered himself out, while Rusty just keeps on cruising, boosting himself up to a pretty respectable clip with Rock Polish. He won't be winning any medals in a sprint, but he's nippy for an Aron.

Nika meanwhile, is still fairly uncoordinated on the bag, but she's got the spirit and she hasn't tripped herself up yet.

When Fie calls a halt, you're hot and sweaty, but you're not exhausted.

Cinder chirps, nudges you ffably on the way past and heads back towards the apartment as Fie shakes her head.

"You're getting better at that." She says. "So, what's the plan today?" She asks.

"Of course he didn't." She says, shaking her head. "I'll talk to her about it and sort things out." Fie assures.

>First for general training
More like he didn't have the best time in training rather than something specific like discipline issues.
>>
>>5710369
It's a crit fail tho so something severe that needs attention is happening.
Discipline issues on a metal dinosaur are naturally bad.
>>
>>5710438
Or he could get another concussion (in the same area no less), which is arguably worse and would be more in line with the trouble a crit fail could give us.
>>
>>5710440
No just no.
General training exercise would mean he strained his muscles, there's sething wrong with his stamina or....
Here's a better suggestion.

After practicing Iron head Rusty started shedding his metal shell for the first time mid physical exercise and won't be able to train physically for a day or two until his new shell has hardened after growing.
He'll need extra food (meat and steel attributed berries) and a decent amount of select metal too (hurting Alex's pocket more than anything).
O suggest feeding him a Steel alloy with a sliver of Zinc and Silver mixed in.
Those form a flexible spring steel that will allow him to heal more easily.
>>
>>5710440
>rusty gets out of commission because of a concussion and needs to rest

Fie leaves after that, leaving you to treat Blitz and Nika, before calling Rusty over.

He's all warmed up now and in short order, you're busily going over the basics of Iron Head with him.

The next hour, you spend practicing it and doing some training into the bargain.

It goes pretty well, up until you're just practicing Iron Head to confirm he's got it.

He pulls the move off flawlessly... and then his headplate cracks and shards fall off.

"Wha..."

Before your eyes, more pieces begin to flake off, before you hurriedly recall Rusty, then Nika and Blitz and race back inside and up to the apartment.

"What's wrong?" Fie asks in concern when she sees the look on your face.

"It's Rusty. We were just practicing Iron Head and his headplate cracked and started flaking off." You explain.

"Oh, he's shedding?" Gareth asks, opening his pokedex before thumbing through to the relevant entry and opening a sub-tab before showing you.

"Yeah, like that." You confirm as you study the pictures.

"Yeah, he'll be doing that for a day or two." Fie says. "Aron like to eat their shed carapace, so make sure you collect it all." She advises. "Also, get him some supplements. I think Justine mentioned that metallurgic formulae are kind of a good guide for developing Arons' carapace. I'll give her a ring and see if she's got any suggestions before I open properly." She says. "Still, there's a specialist store nearby you might want to go hit up after breakfast and I'll shoot a shopping list over to you." She says.

"You're a life saver." You say with feeling as Gareth hands you a plate of food.

I'll do a pokedex write in on Aron:

"Aron the Metal eating pokemon.
Known for their hard headedness and innate sturdyness these pokemon will take any opportunity to eat various kinds of metal in order to strenghten their caprace as they grow.
Rangers are specially employed to keep them away from railroads and bridges.
They shed their caprace twice in preparation for evolution.
The first time it occurs within their first week of hatching when they become ready for battle and the second right as they prepare to evolve.
They will eat any metal they come across during that period including discarded metal capraces of their own, remains from other steel type pokemon or steel types their parrents bring home as prey such as Forretress.
During the Lairon stage they can shed up to 9 times (recorded world record with the largest Alpha being attributed to Gym leader Riley of Hoenns Valley of Steel at 1.8m height and 360kg).
The number of times they shed at the Lairon stage determines their final size at the Aggron stage which is when they stop growing significantly lowering their need to eat metal.
Where an Aron can eat a small car, a Lairon a large truck Aggron on the other hand are much more fond of eating plant matter, select berries and any prey they hunt down.
At all stages it's reccomended to have small chunks of select Steel alloy and Steel type attributed Berries on hand to feed them as it helps them strengthen their capprace and expediate their recovery process after recieving injuries.
Shed metal plates of Aggron are an expensive comodity always in demand with the ship building industry thus offsetting the heavy expenses of raising them during their Lairon stage.
As with all rock types please beware of feeding them any ammount of everstone before their final evolution as it would end up becoming assimilated as a part of their body thus permanently crippling their growth."

"You're on." You say. "One on one suit?" You ask.

"Ready when you are then." The boy says, indicating to the plaza nearby where a court has been set aside for public use.

You square up at opposite ends while Gareth takes the referee position.

"Oh, I've not actually started the gym challenge yet." He says as an afterthought after he's selected a ball.

"This year, or over all?" You ask.

"Over all." He replies.

That narrows your field a little.

You really don't want to go bullying a kid literally just starting out.

"Some, but not a lot." The boy concedes.

"...What's your strongest pokemon?" You ask as you parse this response and get nothing useful out of the process.

"Buizel." The boy replies.

This is at least something to go off of.

"Alright then." You say, reaching down to your belt.

The kid's responses are infuriatingly vague, but you don't get the sense he's trying to play you, either. More, that he's got more enthusiasm than sense.

"Let's go, Buizel!" The kid says, releasing the pokemon in question.

You've gotten pretty good at judging how strong pokemon are by now and you feel absolutely no reservation about the pokemon you've selected in response.

"Queenie, you're up." You say, releasing the tiny Cutiefly in reponse.

"...Wow, that's... are you sure about this?" The kid asks dubiously.

It's tempting to get some new TMs or to look at a saddle for one of your pokemon but instead, you head for the specialist store and after a brief conversation with the clerk, are out five thousand credits for steel ingots, as well as zinc and silver supplements.

According to the message Fie sent with the suggestion, Aron can catalyse those metals into something akin to springsteel, which is more or less perfect for lightening Rusty's mass a little and helping him gain an edge in speed.

The day... doesn't go especially well.

It starts off alright. You lose a couple of battles, but no more than two hours in, you get a smartass in who ignores all your advice and instead of just building a campfire, proceeds to light the pile of kerosene soaked sticks he's built on top of the leaf litter and sets the whole room on fire.

You do eventually get it out, but you come out the other side of the fiasco with a burn on your arm and if Fie and the gym staff hadn't come in halfway through, you probably would've punched the guy.

As it stands, once the fire's out, the gym staff march the guy, who doesn't seem to understand how he fucked up on top of everything, out.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Fie says apologetically. "I should've warned you - he's a bit of a serial problem challenger." She confides. "He's never fucked up quite this badly though." She adds. "He was on his last warning, so this won't happen again." She assures.

"That's something at least." You agree as Fie finishes patching you up.

It's your left arm this time, at least, so it evens out Rascal's scratches on your right, but your left arm is going to be basically useless for the next week or so.

"You want to keep going, or just focus on training for the time being?" She asks. "It's going to take some time to fix this room up either way."

>Yeah, I'm good to keep going.

"Yeah, I'm good." You assure.

Fie nods.

"Okay. I managed to get Holly an appointment to see a specialist this afternoon. I was going to ask if you'd go with her, but after this, I'm just going to punch the clock for a couple of hours and go with her myself." She says. "You can take it easy this afternoon and train with Gareth."

"I thought you said you'd get in trouble for unscheduled absences?" You ask.

"If they're consistent and for extended periods, sure, but a couple of hours here and there with a good reason attached is another matter." She replies. "Anyway, this'll take about fifteen minutes, so grab a snack if you want one.

You take her advice and grab a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits out of the bin on the table in the break room, before heading back when one of the staff come and give you a thumbs up.

The rest of the day isn't bad, per se, but all told by the end of it, you've not made any money either.

At least Blitz and Sage got some training in, but not much of it.

Lunch is fairly uneventful, before Fie and Holly head out for the appointment, leaving you and Gareth to train.

After a bit of thought, you decide to train Queenie, focusing first and foremost on seeing if she's actually mastered Bug Buzz or just figured it out and see if you can improve her Special Attack into the bargain.

Gareth meanwhile, decides to train his Feebas some.

Over the course of the next hour, you do manage to confirm that she's learned Bug Buzz, but it's hard work for her and by the end of it, she's tuckered out and you don't notice any real improvement in the power of the move.

Gareth meanwhile has had his Feebas shooting targets with Water Gun as an endurance exercise and has managed to make some progress, but Feebas is likewise looking rather tired.
