Intro

> The Collective are a shadowy group of governance who came to power after the previous leader of your country, formerly known as Kostovia, launched nuclear weapons targeted at the USA.
> After they were fired, the leader rushed into his bunker, which proved to not be as secure as they once thought.. seeing as it was broken into by hundreds of angry people, and was then promptly executed.
> The nuclear bombs never landed, however. They fizzled out over the ocean somewhere. Some people expected nuclear annihilation to come at any moment, and sat outside on the streets for hours, days, weeks.
> The US, having no idea of the attacks, never retaliated.
> After this, a radical party once thought to be fringe political buffoons came to power, promising stability and security: none other than The Collective.
> Years have gone by since then.
> It's the year 1949. You live in the totalitarian hell-scape known as the Republic of Talus, governed by a shadowy figure known only to the people as The Collective.
> After narrowly escaping several confrontations with the Enforcers and cheating death on multiple occasions, you find yourself residing in a shanty-town full of starving people willing to do anything to reclaim their liberty.
> The Enforcers roam every street, day and night, with their sirens blasting propaganda. They have posters up everywhere. They have zeppelins that they fly with cameras attached to surveil the cities from the skies. They speak in their own language when discussing sensitive information.
> They convene every day in a marble building, guarded by over 20 Enforcers at any given time, known as The Office. There's only one of them per city, and you've seen the inside and lived to tell the tale..

Recap of where we left off
You enter the shantytown and are surprised to see a gathering crowd of people pointing guns at a cowering man on the floor.
You push through to see what's going on.
There's an Enforcer with a slightly cracked mask, showing the horrid burn marks on his face.
You can see blood staining his uniform.
Shakily, with his hand in front of his face, his voice trembling as begs the horde of people crowding around him,
> "I ABANDONED MY POST! I'm TIRED OF WORKING FOR THEM! I- I WANTED TO JOIN YOU! I.." His voice cracks.
> "I had a name, but I forgot it a long time ago. Now, I'm just known as.. 'Enforcer ID #139.' "
He sags his head.

One resident screams;
>"HOW DO WE KNOW WE CAN TRUST YOU?"
pushing the pistol in his hand further forward.

> "You.. don't, but I- I- I have.. I have info! Valuable info I can share!" desperation shakes in his voice.

You choose to listen to what he has to say.

The Enforcer, only known as 139, still quivering in fear, says to everyone crowding around him
> "THEY--- THEY FORCED ME TO SHOOT My own.."
He puts his face in his hands.
> "they forced me to shoot my own father.."
His voice raises again as you can hear the tears welling up from his eyes.
> "He.. he didn't even RECOGNIZE ME when I tried telling him to escape."
> "I had to shoot him right in the forehead. I watched the life drain from my dad's eyes, in an instant."
He speaks in a more despondent tone.
> "I couldn't take it anymore. In the dead of midnight, I snuck out from my post claiming that I was on a smoke break. They haven't noticed yet, but if I don't get back soon, they certainly will."

By this time, the people around him had lowered their guns.

> "I can spy for you. I promise."
He pulls out a strange device, resembling an earpiece, and then walks over to the radio.
He tinkers around with some buttons, and speaks into the earpiece.
> "Hello? Hello?"
Miraculously, like magic, you heard his voice come out of the speaker of the radio.

> "This works from up to 6 miles away.", he proclaims proudly

Ask him to..
Infiltrate the battalion of 20 or so Enforcers you saw, led by the Enforcer with the red-painted mask
Infiltrate the Office building and gather info on their future plans
Try to gather materials for a bomb

You ask him to go to wherever they get Enforcer outfits, and take some for us to use as disguises.
Still with a hint of hesitancy, he obliges.
> "A- Alright. They get them from The Office. I should be able to get in undisturbed."
You take a seat next to Kjell and Jacob, who are sitting around the table that the radio is resting on.
139, as he chose to be called, walks out of they shantydown, and you see him disappear down the alleyway.

You hear an unfamiliar language as you hear the crackling sound of footsteps approaching him through the earpiece.
An unfamiliar voice speaks sternly,
> "Ρцa гκΔ oψγк лΩΓ yπ Δια eг p. ЯΒ дc Х yтθMгρ! Ё ξтηΩ λΨт ΕнчΔp C?"
139 replies in a nervous voice, assuredly,
> "ГpΔк aЩП лψЮ гOpК ЗΨЛд. ЧЛΨΔ вПЦ pЗOвФ хψOЧ ЛЯнЯ... явHoE."
You hear a brief grunt of understanding as 139 walks away.
> "That was my commander. He..
139 seems to realize he's speaking out loud, and lowers his voice to a whisper.
> "..he questioned me on where I was going."
> "I told him I was going to go replace my outfit and get a few new ones for the future."
You hear the sound of shoes clacking on marble, echoing widely. He's in the Office.
You hear the sound of him ruffling through some fabric, and then joviantly updates that you that he has three outfits in his posession, including stone masks.
Then, you hear him scream, and muffled cries as the outfits fall to the ground, followed by stone cracking.
> "WAIT-- COMMANDER! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
You hear the same gravely voice speak up, this time in a language you can understand. It has a heavy, thick Russian accent.
> "YOU ARE ACTING SUSPICIOUS, #139. PLEASE WAIT TO BE INTERROGATED, BY ORDER OF THE WATCHMEN."
You have mere moments to get him out of this situation.
Tell him to..
>Try to fight off the Commander and run away with the disguises
>Say that he was just getting it for other Enforcers as a gift (roll d20)
>Try to recruit the Commander to your side (roll d100 - if fails, you're pretty fucked, but could be very useful if succeeds)

Through the crackly static of the radio, you scream to try to convince the commander that he was getting the outfits as a gift to other Enforcers.
You hear him wrestling with the Commander, until he proclaims
> "I JUST WANTED TO GET THESE NEW OUTFITS AS A GIFT FOR 265 AND 39!"
The Commander thinks for a moment..

> "You- you're going to accompany me to deliver them? I- I don't know Sir, I-.."
The commander talks in a maliciously kind voice, with a hint of mischief saying, in that same Russian accent,
> "We would not want you to get lost, would we? Come, 139."
As you hear the footsteps of the two of them, Kjell speaks up.
> "Maybe you could go to a private place and try getting this commander

I like your OP image a lot.

It's aesthetically pleasing and impactful, and it communicates its feel very clearly. It's great.
>>
>>5791717
thank you anon, i drew it myself. it was my first time drawing in years, and i did it on a phone with my finger
>>
>>5791718
The quality of the dude is very bad, but that's not very visible in thumbnail size anyways.

It's the composition and overall aesthetics that really sells it.
>>
>>5791719
yeah, i had to draw him small because i was on a small phone screen, and i couldn't see the whole thing otherwise. it was insanely hard to do even at this scale. took me like 6 hours.

You ponder for a moment, and give a solemn nod to Kjell. He thinks for a moment about what to say..
>>
>>5794275

Kjell pushes you out of the way and puts his face up to the wooden radio. Through the crackly speakers, you hear the heavy breathing of 139 and the Commander as they walk.

> "139, are there any alleyways around?"

139 responds in a hushed whisper;
> "ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ'ˢ ᵒnᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵐʸ ˡᵉᶠᵗ."
Kjell instructs 139 to walk into it and stop to face the Commander.
> "ₒ-ₒₖₐᵧ"
You hear the footsteps slow down, and before long, the sound of the snow crunching beneath their feat comes to a halt.
The voice of the Commander comes through the radio.
> "What are you doing, 139? Why have we stopped?"

Rolled a 37. Kjell starts to panic before blurting out:
.. Tell him about the story with your father.
.. Try to convince him that the Collective is evil, and with his help, can be taken down.
.. Try to flake out of the situation by saying you'll give it to them another day.
