    442 KB Bloodquest 23- Bloodquest Returns StonerDM !em3oEn8LAg 06/01/10(Tue)20:10 No.10210462
    Archive- http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Bloodquest

The water is misty, so your visibility is limited, and it's extremely cloudy, so it could be any time of day.
Blind Falls itself has been thouroughly torn to pieces. You can see the twisted exposed steel of some of its inner facilities, but most of the inside was dragged to the deeps by whatever vile beast attacked it; it may have been the same monstrosity you just fought.
"How long are we going to wait for him?" Garfield asks irritably.
Ramiel sits cross-legged some distance away on the shattered rocks, Subject 23 draped across his knees, gently touching it with the tips of his fingers, his white wings folded around himself loosely.

Off on his promontory, Ramiel seems perturbed. His fingers remain lightly touching the sword, but he seems troubled, and he keeps shaking his head. His wings expand, spreading out from him like great stretching arms, and he begins verbalizing something, but you can't understand him between the distance and the wind.

You cautiously walk over along the broken ground. Ramiel is standing by the time you reach him. His face is a sullen mask.
    "The Shard..." he begins, faltering.
    "What?" you say.
"The Prime Shard believes that you are a more suitable bearer than...than I," he says at last, tossing his head petulantly.

"Not...not interested? The Prime Shard spurns me, casts me aside...for you? You who do not even realize the gift bestowed upon you?" He points the rapier at you like an extension of his arm. "No...no, we will see who is deserving..."

Ramiel hesitates, seemingly unsure of what to do. His face is a mixture of sadness and hatred.
"Very well. The Shard cannot have it's chosen bearer," he says, casting the sword aside. It arcs over the water before sliding into the rock face like it was nothing. The hilt catches on the rocks, and the swords remains stuck fast.
"...then it shall have no bearer at all. We shall see how it fares without me as its purveyor."

Ramiel is in front of you in three steps, his motion a blur. He bares his teeth, a finger jutting at your face like a claw.
"I should feed you your entrails," he said. "Piece by piece. I cannot fathom why the Shard would want to do anything but pierce your heart." He turns away from you, lifting off and backblasting wind into your face.
"Very well," he shouts, flying over to where the sword is stuck fast in the rock and dislodging it. He shudders as he sheathes it.
"The Shard...is not pleased," he says upon his return. "Nor I."
    >> Anonymous 06/01/10(Tue)21:38 No.10212136
You have to decide, Ramiel. What are you motivations in this conflict? Are you here to save humanity and restore our small island of order, or are you here to indulge your ego? To be the avenging angel who wields an almighty sword? Because that sounds very heroic, very dramatic, but it isn't what the world needs. What the world needs are for those of us who have the means to fight to put ourselves second and band together to drive back the chaos.

Soon you find yourself over the mainland. Now that the clouds are clearing, you can see that it is late afternoon, almost nightfall. You try to locate a decent-sized road, and follow it until you reach a small gas station. Pulling up your hood, you motion for Ramiel to wait outside, and poke your head in. It seems deserted. Stepping inside, you move over to the newspaper rack.
The papers are all dated the same day you flew to Berlin. With the time-zone change, it would mean you've been gone for less than 8 hours.
"These aren't the droids you're looking for," comes a voice behind you. You turn to see a girl, probably using this job to pay for college, coming out of the stockroom. She steps behind the counter, nodding at you.
"Sweet robe. Can I help you?"

I'm not saying that we be sneaky sneaky. I just think going to Ahrkam at this point is a bad idea. We have no idea what happened in Germany, and if Slenderman is still around, which he probably is, then we somehow mannaged to hurt him. He might think we're dead, but even if he still thinks that we're alive then he'll be out looking for us. Either way, no need to be rash and reveal our presence to him just yet.

Although we'll probably tip him off when we take on 13. If he knows we're still alive, then he might venture that we'll be going after 13 as well and could be waiting for us to weaken her before he goes into the kill. Or something. I dunno. All of a sudden though I'm imagining a three way battle between slender, 13, and 82 and it is ridiculously awesome.

Good sir, as much as you may personally dislike quest threads, it is not necessary to verbally assault those that do. Many times they are the result of DM's who have fantastic ideas, but are possibly unable to run those ideas with their gaming group. Or perhaps they've created a setting to leverage the knowledge of /tg/ to good use. Either way, they inspire others with good ideas, and generally make us all better as DM's.

Your blood almost glows with candescence as it froths dangerously, the hissing of cooking flesh driving away the insect monstrosities.
    >>10214715
    >50
You see Ramiel below you, swinging the Shard wildly as he tries to fend off the swarm. One of the larger brutes plods towards him, and he whips its leg off effortlessly with a sweep of the rapier.
    >>10214718
    >96
Going into a dive, you extend two hooked whips. Lashing out, you snag the throats of two of the hulking nightmares, stretching the whips taut as you the ground and driving them to earth. Drawing the whips towards you with one harsh motion, you are rewarded with two distinct wet snaps of conjured bone.
    >>10214719
    >43
The wind is knocked out of you as you are tackled by a third of the brutes. You hear 18 cackling to himself.
    >>10214727
    >62
The brute tries to smother you with its hulking mass as 18 titters gleefully. Its tentacles begin writhing with panic, claws and legs scrabbling for an instant of fear before a blood-spiked fist bursts out of the back of its rubbery torso, spewing black ocher onto the evening soil. You clear out a space with the heated blade, emerging from the empty cocoon of its torso like a grim parody of birth.
    >>10214735
    >81
"You." you say matter-of-factly, pointing a dagger-blade at 18. It springs away from your wrist, propelled by the extending whip, and catches him on the shoulder, puncturing through with ease. You give a disdainful flick to the side, and the energy travels along the length of the taut whip before the dagger rends itself away painfully, severing 18's arm and sending blood splashing to the grass to mix with whatever fell fluids his creations produce.

You dash towards him, firing a spear at 18 to keep him at bay. He scrambles away from you, clutching at his bleeding stump. You action-roll under the sweeping claw of a fleshy titan, extending your wrists towards 151 and concentration hard.
Sanguikinetically directed, two lashes of blood snap back and forth, flicking the wasps covering the angel's body to pieces. He stands shakily, flesh covered in nasty-looking welts, and retrieves his sword
    >>10214825

Back to back, the two of you face off against an encroaching mob of clawed arms and writhing faces, terrible pulpy trumpetings filling the dark air. The night becomes once again thick with black mist, and you hear 18's choked cackling.
"Brace yourself," Ramiel tells you, and you plant your feet firmly.
The winged man rolls backwards and upwards, pushing off of you and flexing his wings to gain additional altitude. He lands with one arm looped around the stumpy neck of the beast, the other driving the Shard into the creature's unfathomable worm-hive of a face. A few flicks of the wrist ensures the beast is brought to earth, while a swift x-shaped slashing motion from you ensures that two of the beasts charging towards you are bisected, steaming flesh dribbling to the ground.

"Then I will make a beast out of myself," he says, from some foreign unhinging mouth deep within the chaotic nightmare. "And rid myself of the weakness of being a man!"

A shower of bloodspears sends the beast back, giving Ramiel room to rise and take off 3 of its 4 limbs, leaving the rest to bleed out.
18 is taking a more decided form now, 4 pairs of giant human arms forming the scuttling limbs of his rear section, while a vaguely-humanoid front rises 3, 4 stories tall, a faceless head craning back and forth, with only a tooth-filled mouth stretching from top to bottom. Barreling out of the darkness, Ramiel drops to one knee before fluidly taking off, tracing a diagonal line up the front of the beast, The Shard dug in to the hilt. "No, it's the tooth fairy. Open up, I brought a guest." Ramiel leans in, frowning at the peephole.
    "Oh...oh my."
You hear the sounds of a bolt being undrawn and a chain sliding.
"I've...changed, since you saw me." you manage to murmur, sinking into your hood. You never gave any serious thought to how others might react to your new appearance, but now it's making you nervous. Walters opens the door.
"Please, come in...both of you..." he says.

The apartment is as you remember it, if a bit more cheerless with Samantha's bubbly presence. Swallowing, you remove your hood, turning to look at Jacob as he relocks the door. He starts slightly when he turns, breathing heavily.
    "I...what?" he asks softly.

You press yourself against him, arms first at a loss for what to do, then slowly snaking around his body, gripping him gently as you bury your face in his shoulder/neck. You try to lose yourself, to escape the terrible constant pressure, the ever-present looming fear, and your own insidious growing hunger, the stripping away of your humanity that comes with every step closer you get to saving it.
"You're so warm..." he says at last, and you feel his arms around you, one hand around your back while the other strokes soft rivulets through your tangled red hair.
It's all too much, and you slide to your knees. You feel him follow, guiding you to the ground where you clutch your arms around his neck. For the second time since this horrible mess began, you weep at a man's feet. You hear him shushing you, a soft soothing sound. You feel his lips on your forehead, a single kiss delicately planted.

Can you push it closer to 4 or 5? If not that's ok, I'll just jump in a little late. I would LOVE an extra long BQ, just be prepared to actually have two threads for once, haha!
