You've just found out you're a Pariah, Emmie's a Blank, and that the Captain works for an Inquisitor. The Captain wishes to finally meet you, now that you now. Problem is, shes a Psyker herself, so it might get ugly. You've been given one hour to clean yourself up before the Meeting.

You still don;t trust anyone aboard right now, so you leave with Emmie firmly in tow. Getting to your cabin, you ask what she makes of all this. "Well... it makes sense. Why else am I still alive, and with you?" You've been thinking about your own past, and you realized that not many people liked you, or hung out with you. You had less then a dozen real friends your whole life, and when you jumped to the Warp you barely felt a thing.
Giving yourself, and Emmie, a quick rinse, Emmie puts on her dress uniform, and you put on your best clothes... which is to say a clean set. You might want to remedy that when you next make port.

Now, the moment of truth. Ralph leads you to some of the 'off limits' parts of the ship, and you a cabin door more ornate then the others. He knocks, then leaves. After a moment you hear a sharp gasp of surprise, then a muffled "It's unlocked." Opening the cabin, which is MUCH bigger and better furnished then your own, you see the Captain sitting at the far end of a table. The first thing to strike you is how YOUNG she seems to be, she looks no older then 16. She winces as you enter the room, and gestures to a few empty seats, as far away from her as the room allows.

You keep on your toes, as the Captain is in obvious discomfort. She fidgets and squirms nearly constantly. Taking a closer look at her, she is dressed in rich robes that put you almost in mind of how Ismael dresses, except hers are much cleaner and more expensive. She has bright red hair, even brighter then Amanda's, and freckles spot her face.
You ask her why she wanted to see you. "I like to get to know the members of my crew... By the Emperor how do you live with yourself?" She takes a deep breath and counts to ten. "I'm sorry. That was rude and mean. She's creepy enough, but you terrify me." She gestures to Emmie as she says this. "Anyway, I know your stories, but not you. So please... enjoy some refreshments." A small servitor wheels its way to you, holding drinks and an assortment of snack cakes.

You understand her discomfort, kinda, and let her no that you're more then willing to leave if she wants you to. "Right this second I would be temped to turn to Chaos just to get you off my ship," Emmie tenses at this implies heresy, "But no. You're too valuable to my employer, and the crew seems to get along with you well enough. If you WANT to leave, then I won't stop you, but I wont force you off my ship. Besides, you'll be useful to Samantha. She hates dealing with Psykers during negotiations, so you'll be making me money in the process." She sways in her seat, and you notice a small trickle of blood run out of her nose. "How about this? How about you go back to your room and I talk to you over the speaker?"

    Great story and all, but...

Pariahs are a bigger deal than you seem to realize. Most of the time the local populace hunts them down and murders them because they scream "I AM UNNATURAL, MURDER ME PAINFULLY!" To everyone with a soul. Not just psykers, everyone who isn't a blank themselves.

To psykers, they are deadly by mere contact, and prolonged exposure can cause severe bleeding and permanent damage.

And pariahs are incredibly rare and valuable. Unless the inquisitor in charge of this ship is pulling some serious strings, we're gonna get shipped to the Culexus temple sooner or later.

I think Null is the blanket term. Blanks are those who negate warp effects immediately around them. Pariahs are those who are a black hole in the warp and can direct their power almost like a psyker can direct theirs.

The birthrate is infinitesimal even when given the size of the Imperium, and pariahs are lucky to live past childhood because their parents will often drown the "unnatural abomination." Most pariahs who make it are being picked up by people who recognize them (inquisitors and other Imperial agents) and ship them directly to the Culexus temple.

The only way we could've survived is if our parents had mercy and left us to be raised by wolves, which did so (instead of biting our unnatural ass to death) and then returned home to live in a town that was somehow populated entirely by psychic nulls. Because otherwise people would be freaking the fuck out whenever we walked down the street.

Pariahs really turn some heads, is what I'm trying to say. They make Chaos piss itself because of what they are capable of, and what they represent.

Hell, we're an anti-Chaos machine. Daemons will vaporize in our presence, and we could probably go toe-to-toe with warp-tainted space marines because our powers would fuck them up so bad it wouldn't even be funny.

It sounds like a good offer, but you have other obligations as well. You offer the Lasrifles as part of the deal. "Well... Lasrifles can fetch a good price on the right worlds... I'll go down to 22%. And that is my final offer."

Deceiver is the most likely culprit. Nightbringer is too "DEATH TO ALL LIFE!" To put together a plan like tweaking the second most populous race in the galaxy to provide you with a somewhat regular supply of recruits.

Out of all the C'tan, Deceiver is the most likely to stay around for awhile, because he's not above masquerading as a lowly human to get shit done.

    No you did well
Blanks have a mental effect on warp entities.
Pariahs have a physical one. Basically Pariahs reverse psychic power on itself. The more powerful the psyker the more damage they take. Which is why Culexus Assassins and Necron Pariahs are so effective. So it makes sense she would only get a nose bleed, hell you could argue that the blank dampened the effects of the pariah on the psyker.

Pausing for a moment, you turn to Emmy and ask her opinion, she has years more experience then your lousy two months. "Well... I'm used to the Lasrifle. It's like a part of me more then anything... But the Hellguns have better firepower. I once saw Stormtroopers in action, it was amazing. If we do get them, then we'll have to practice a lot with them, to get used to them. And even with a 22% decrease in pay, that's still more then we made back on your planet." She nods to you.
Alright, you'll agree to the bargain. You ask about maybe Hellpistols to go with them. "No, I haven't got any of those on the ship. And even f I did I wouldn't let you have them for a measly 22%. However... maybe I can arrange to get you some better armor. Those flak vests of yours aren't too great. Alright, I have business to attend to. You can have the rest of the day off."

You turn to the speaker in the room and agree to the deal. "Alright. I'll let Ralph know to deliver them to your cabin. He'll also take the Lasrifles and any powerpacks you have. NEW TOYS! You wait like a kid on Emperor's Day eve, until you hear a grunt and some struggling. You peek out into the hall and see Ralph manhandling two long, black boxes. She ducks to get into your cabin, and set the boxes on the table. Picking up the two Lasrifles and slinging them over a shoulder, he grins and shakes his head. "You two have fun with those. We have a powerpack charger in the armory. I've given you clearance on the maps to see where it is. It's small, but we aren't a large ship." he leaves the two of you alone. You close and lock the hatch, and crack the seals on the boxes. These Hellguns are fresh, the wax on the purity seal still shiny and new. You pick yours up, and Emmie hers. It's heavier then your Lasrifle, but not too much so. Checking the sights, everything seems to be in order. You won't be able to shoot it on the ship, but you can feel the power this thing has. Emmie removes her greatcoat and begins breaking down hers, starting the ritual of inspection and maintenance, you follow her lead.
After you finish, you look up at Emmie. Her hands are still slick with oil and polish, and she smiles at you. What happens next isn;t any kind of tech-heresy, but you aren't sure if the Techpriests aboard would approve of that particular use of leftover sacred oil.

Ok, it's 5AM and I need sleep now. I'm going to have to take a two day break, but I'll be back after that.
