Last time you were confronted by Persius, Ruby's grandfather. Ruby was able to talk him into letting go, and was allowed to come with the show. Following her grandfather's instructions, she dug up a box from under an Oak tree, though she still hasn't opened it.
Later you came upon the Jingo Inn and Traveler's Rest, a huge inn in which you were able to get rooms, with baths!

Speaking of which, it's been a long day and you leave everyone in the common room to relax. Heading up to your room you're pleased to find your bath has already been prepared, and steams gently from it's tub. Well well, this place has alcoves for it's tubs, pretty fancy.
You ease yourself into the tub, by the gods this feels wonderful. After soaking for a while with your eyes closed, you hear some creaking and feel the water level rise. Cracking open an eye, you find Ruby stepping in with you. After a bit of sloshing, she pulls you into her lap and starts washing your back. Her hands gently but firmly start to massage the kinks out of muscles you didn't even realize you had.

You soak in the tub with Ruby until your toes start getting pruney. Getting out and getting dressed, you put on fresh everything and take out the top hat, you decide to check on everyone and see if you can get a gig while you're here.Heading downstairs you can see Grue pretty easy, he seems to be still eating. You don't see Zanne or Gregor anywhere, but Tabby is at the bar, there seem to be several men around her. A bit further down the bar, Tanot has his head in a bowl of nuts. Newt seems to be entertaining a group of children.
Spotting the Innkeeper, a large man with a larger belly, you head over. "Evening miss. Just so you know... I don't give no care what you do behind closed doors, so long as you keep paying. But there are some 'round these parts that wouldn't take too kindly to a lady being so... friendly with another lady, if you take my meaning."

You politely thank the innkeeper and ask him to please mind his own business. He shrugs. "It doesn't take a gnome to figure it out. You two are the only ones sharing a room. You aren't sisters, I can see that. And your a bard, so I suspect that you'll be wanting to play. I won't stop you, but you won't receive payment from the inn, nor a discount. We have several bards playing a night on the floor. Anyone who wants to play can."
You thank him and ask about Zanne. "Your Gypsy friend? Last I saw of her, she was heading to the stables."

You don't looks foreword to going back out int he rain to get to the stables, and are relieved to hear you won't have to. A small stone corridor connects the two buildings. Opening the door to the stables, you see several men playing cards around a small table. "Wanting to get to your wagon's ma'am?" One stands up and takes you to them.
Zanne is sitting with Gregor int he back of your wagon, tears in her eyes. "Janice! They want to make Gregor sleep out here! They won;t let me take him into the inn!" She points accusingly to the men at the table. "Sorry ma'am, but no pets allowed int he rooms."

You take a few silver out of your pocket and calmly explain the services the goat renders. Also, the Goat is part of the act, you don' take too kindly to people who mess with your act. Eventually you talk them into letting you take Gregor, at one point Ruby innocently sharpens some of her throwing knives. As you leave the stables Ruby grabs her chest, some soil still clings to it. You quickly get Gregor and Zanne to her room before anyone can object to Gregor.
You take this opportunity to check on Faral. Her room is next to Zanne's anyway.
You knock an get no response. After a few moments you begin to get worried, and open the door. With a sigh of relieve, you see Faral sitting on her bed. She seems to be in some sort of Trance, and isn't responding to you.

You've seen Faral do this before. It's the Elf version of sleeping. Stepping out into the hall you get Zanne to lock the door after you. "This is not a very good lock Janice. My littlest brother could pick this." You make a note to remind everyone to lock their doors and follow her to her room. You see Gregor laying on the bed, seemingly contemplating how tasty the sheets would be. You ask Zanne why Gregor is so important to her. "I grew up on the road. The only other children I had to play with where my siblings. I do not know if you have brothers or sisters, but they can be... mean. One of my family's she-goats gave birth when I was 8. Gregor was the runt of the litter. Papa would have left him on the side of the road if not for me. He has been my friend since. We grew together and I trained him myself." Well that answers that question. How long do goats live you wonder?
Going back downstairs to round up everyone else, you note the men around Tabby seem to have grown in number. Tanot no longer has his head in a bowl, as he is lying on the floor. There is a dwarf with him, prodding him with a hammer.
Grue has small mountains of plates and bowls surrounding him.

Push our way through the crowd, make sure Tabby's doing alright. Then we should probably check on Tanot, see if he's alive. Fuck. If we have to pay off a bet he made with that dwarf for some kind of drinking contest I say we strip him naked and let him sleep on the floor. Maybe burn his clothes.

Then we should talk to Ruby about where this 'thing' we have is headed.

Edging your way closer to Tabby, you notice something important. All these men are A LOT bigger then you are. Pushing your way through this crowd of brutes, you find Tabby in the center. Her thunderous laughter rings out and she slams a man's arm down onto the table. A sizable pile of coins sits next to her mug, and the man she just defeated grudgingly places a few more on top. "Come on now, can;t any of you big strong men beat little ol' me? Winner takes all! Another giant of a man sits down across from her. "Hello Janice!" She waves at you and, muscles building, beats this next guy faster then the last.
As you scoot out of the crowd, a huge hand taps you on the shoulder. A gruff, gravely voice from several feet above you coughs. "Excuse me miss but you seem to know her... Is... Is the red-headed once... available?" Turing to the voice you nearly screech. You have no idea how you misses a MINOTAUR being in the room.

You blink up at the minotaur, who is roughly the same size as Grue. You stammer out that you don't know if she has anyone, but don;t believe so. The Minotaur snorts and you THINK grins. You curse Tanot under your breath as your hand slowly moves to the knife at your waist as you explain that you were only defending yourself and those around you. The dwarf pops his neck and spits. "You killed my brother. I've been tracking that son of a bitch for three years now. You screwed me out of a sizable bounty. Let me shake your hand and buy you a drink. He was a bandit and a bastard. I hear it was his pet half-ogre wot done him in. Good riddance." He sets his war hammer down and tosses a small bag to you. "My father wanted that to go to whoever killed the good for nothing scum sucker." Inside the bag is a golden ring with a small gem set into it. "That'll get you tha respect and help of any of the Bjornson dwarf clan."
You hear a bovine bellow from the crowd around Tabby and see the Minotaur stomp off to the bar. The beast doesn't even order, he just reaches behind the barkeep and grabs the largest bottle in reach and starts chugging it.

You agree to try and help him if he apologizes to Grue. "Apologize? He tried to rob me! I made sure not to do any permanent damage." You try giving him some romantic advice, starting with the sheer intimidation factor of a minotaur. You need to go easy, not rushing like a bull in a china shop, excuse the metaphor. Gifts are always good, and you share a romantic poem with him. "Hair like fire... hmmm... Give my apologies to the Half-Orge. He was a worthy fight by the way." He sets down his bottle and reaches into the pocket of his pants. He sets a pile of coins on the counter, some of them you've never seen the like of. After a moment of thought, you realize that inter species matchmaking might not be the best idea. And that you should find out what Tabby thinks of this whole mess. Heading back to the table you sit next to Tabby, the crowd having dispersed. A small mountain of silver is still on the table by her mug. You casually mention the minotaur, and Tabby shifts uneasily. "That was... weird. Ta'kal, he said that was his name, beat me pretty easily then asked if I would marry him! I... well he reminds me of a bull we had back home. And... well... I'm not to comfortable with those kinda thoughts Janice." You suggest maybe letting him down easier, explaining her reasons to him. Tabby nods. "I'll try to avoid him, but if I have to I will... he didn't even take his winnings you know." She begins drinking deeply from her mug.
Tabby nursing another mug, you head over to Newt, who is surrounded by children. Sparks and lights dance from her hand as she makes a coin dance through her fingers. You ask Newt about her new apprentices, the kids ignore you and keep watching the pretty lights. Newt laughs though. "I was an only child. I love children." The kids ooh and aah as Newt seems to pull a blue ball of fire out of thin air and sends it flying around the room.
Everyone accounted for, you ask Ruby to gather everyone up, give her hand a squeezes and a smile. Tanot requires Tabby to hold him up, but he seems coordinated enough to blow his flute. Zanne patters down the steps, Gregor clomping down after her and Faral coming down last. Grue helps you clear an area for your show. Just moving stuff around seems to attract some attention, and the kids run back to their parents, dragging them back.

You adjust the top hat on your head and quickly speak with everyone in the party. Tabby sets Tanot down on a bench and he begins playing a tune you aren't familiar with. Faral starts plucking her harp with a similar tune, you expect shes improvising. Following her lead you pick up Elisabeth and start playing.
After a few moments of this, Newt creates multicolored light sin the air above the cleared area. Stepping into the middle you bow to the crowd. Introducing yourself and your party, you waste no time getting into the show. With a look to Faral and Tanot you start off with a few folks songs.
Once your finished you introduce Tabby, joking that many of the men here have already succumbed to her this evening. A few men stretch sore arms amid the laughter. She starts off simple, hefting you over her head like you weigh nothing. She builds from there, picking up both you and Ruby, then wondering into the crowd to pick up an entire family sitting on a bench.

After is Zanne. She begins dancing to whatever tune you and the other bards play. Some of her dances are dazzling, some are sensuous.A few men in the crowd try to get too handsy, but Grue popping his knuckles behind them seems to sort them out, along with the other men in the crowd. Gregor bleats and hops from the top of Grue's head into the center of the clearing. The crowd bursts into applause after he leaves to sit next to Zanne.
Propping up a plate on a nearby table, and arrow flies from the second story and smashes right into the center. Ruby casually strolls down the stairs, firing several more arrows that all land int he center of the plate. She really amazes the crowd when she splits one of the arrows with another. When she reaches the bottom of the stairs you stand up against a wall. Placing an apple on your head you turn to Ruby. Fast as lightning she splits the apple with an arrow, then she tosses a knife into the arrow. She tosses three more knifes into the wood next to your head. Ruby gestures Newt over and takes a strip of cloth from her. You begin getting nervous, this wasn't part of the plan. Blindfolding herself, Ruby turns away from you. Taking her last three knives she starts to toss them from hand to hand. Spinning around she throws the three of them at the same time. You wince, but feel no pain. A few of your hairs drift down in front of your face. Stepping away from the wall, there is an outline of knives around where your head was. The crowd loves this.
You finish up the show with a few more songs, including several of the Elven ones that you've gotten Tanot and Faral to teach you.

You hand everyone in the party several handfuls of coins. It takes both you and Ruby to take the rest back to the room and count it all out. You made roughly 100 silver, that's 1 gold, tonight.
Which reminds you. Now that you and Ruby are along, she takes the chest out and opens it. Inside is a small sack, a straight shortsword, and a small quiver of arrows, about 12 total. The arrows are strange, three are silver tipped, three glow softly with white light, three look incredibly straight, and the last three look completely normal.

All that work has left us tired. The lights gave us a headache.

Just guessing here... but the silver is obvious. The glowing ones are probably holy, and the straight ones are probably like... +1 or something.
Hey! Ruby gets the first magic items of the quest!

You want to call it a night man? Pick up on the road after leaving in when we start back up again?

You pick up the sack, but it feels empty. you reach in... and your entire arm goes in. You can;t even feel the bottom. Turning it over, coins spill out. Roughly 30 silver. You look into the back and see nothing, but your arm should be able to fit in there. You've heard of these, its a small bag of Holding. Incredibly useful!
Gathering up the money and putting it back int he bag you turn to Ruby. You're about to scold her from scaring the daylights out of you, but shes already in the bed. She smirks at you and gestures you over.

Yeah, I'd better head to bed now. I'll pick it up tomorrow.
