I apologize for my absence these last three days. As embarrassing as it is for me to admit, I got banned due to actions on another board.
I am also doing a redo of Saturday/Sunday's thread, as it only lasted half an hour before it died.

Last time you finally left the Jingo and continued your trip. That afternoon Ruby noticed something large that had been following the Party. It was discovered to be Ta'kal, who seems to be a Paladin of Kord. He believes he will be able to heal Grue's eye.

As you approach the wagons, you see that the whole party is geared up for a fight, wearing what armor and weapons you have. As you get nearer they relax, with the exception of Tabby when she sees who is with you.

Keeping your back to the minotaur you try to calm Tabby down from a distance. The fact that you're riding on the same horse as Ruby makes this difficult. Tabby looks at you funny as, from her perspective, it almost looks like you're trying to undo Ruby's clothing.
Heading right past the wagons Ta'kal goes right to Grue. Removing the eye patch the minotaur examines Grue's eye. Grue flinches as he prods it, but remains still. "This cut is still pretty fresh. I should be able to fix it." Placing his hands on the scar, making Grue flinch again, Ta'kal begins muttering a prayer. With a flash of light the paladin's hands begin to glow a soft white light. The ugly red gash on Grue's face lightens until it is little more then a scar and the milky whiteness of the eye begins to regain color.
Grue blinks and shakes his head. "Cowman make Grue see again!"
You turn to the Party and smile. You reintroduce Ta'kal to everyone.

After reintroducing Ta'Kal, this time as the Paladin he is and not just a smitten minotaur, you get back into your wagon. You take the reigns from Tabby and she leans over to you, whispering. "What is HE doing here? He's creepy and makes me uncomfortable!" You explain to her that having an extra hand to deal with anything unexpected, like bandits, is nothing to shake a stick at. And with both Grue AND Ta'kal, both of whom are roughly eight feet in height, you doubt most bandits will bother you. Besides, you only only have a few health potions and you doubt Grue's will the the last injury. It'll be nice to have someone who can heal.
A few hours later you see something by the side of the road, getting closer. Pointing it out to Ruby, she squints and peers into the distance. After a few seconds she whips out her bow and notches an arrow. Tabby also gasps and takes her axe. You can finally see what the thing is, and it looks like a big shaggy dog.

You looks from Tabby to Ruby, confused. It's just a dog for the gods' sakes. You hop down and, digging through your bag, get out some beef jerky. Before anyone can stop you you're already a few feet away from the dog. It's a big dog, though you've seen bigger. It has shaggy hair and a pointed snout, and it's ears are kind of pointed too. It growls softly at you, revealing very sharp teeth.
Ruby calls out from behind you. "Janice, don't move a muscle. That is NOT a dog. That is a wolf. If you back up VERY slowly I should be able to get a shot at it." The wolf looks behind you and Ruby and growls again. Then it sniffs and looks back at you. With a comical plop it sits down and stares intently at your hand. The only holding the meat. It tilts it's head to once side and continues to stare.

You remember hearing somewhere that you aren't supposed to make eye contact with wild animals, they take it as a thread. So you turn your head away and toss the jerky. After a second you hear some chewing. Braving a glance you see the wolf dancing around the meat and chewing on it. Looking back at you the wolf flops on it's back, tail wagging. Standing up the wolf lets out a long howl, which makes the horses jump and whinny.
The Wolf trots a ways away, then stops and turns around. It stares intently at you and sits back down. With an almost human gesture, a shrug, it takes a few steps towards you, then turns and takes a few steps away. It turns and sits again.

"Na-uh. The only wolves I've seen were trying to get at papa's cows."
Ta'kal sniffs the air. "I don't smell any more, but if they're downwind I wouldn't."
Alright, you're going to follow this wolf, if that's what it actually is. You turn to find the wolf scratching itself behind it's ear and licking itself inappropriately. Well... it appears to be male. The wolf freezes and looks up, quickly getting stood up and starts walking away. You and the party follow the wolf for about a mile until it turns off the road onto a small path. The path is far too small for the wagons and the surrounding terrain would be hell on the axles. Oh hey, if you DO get eaten, can I take over the show? I'll give you until sunset." Gregor bleats and starts nibbling grass by the road.
Yourself, Ruby, Tabby, Ta'kal, and Newt head out on the path. The wolf patiently leads you about a quarter of a mile away from the road. A small forest expands in front of you, the path leading through it.
It gets shadier as you enter the forest. The path slips many times, but the wolf keeps going down one path. Eventually you come to a small area with about half as many trees at the rest of the forest. In this are you see a small cooking fire in a pit, and a thin figure lounging in a hammock suspended between two trees. The figure looks from it's pipe. A female voice addresses the wolf, the voice almost sounds like water running down a stream, if you had to describe it. "Samuel, have you brought be guests?"

While this woman is in the shade like she is, you can't tell what species she belongs to. You greet her and tell her her pet gave you quite a freight at the road. "Pet? Sam? If he could understand you he'd laugh. Sam's just a mooch to hangs around me for food." She turns back to the wolf. "And you Sam! What have I told you about the road, eh? You'll get yourself shot out there." The woman gets out of her hammock with a small groan and steps into the light. The first thing you notice is that she's A LOT smaller then you thought she was, she's a halfling. Easily small enough to ride the wolf.

You shrug and take the pipe, puffing on it a few seconds. You aren't much of a smoker and you start to cough. You hand it to Tabby, you is a repeat of yourself. Newt takes one puff and begins hacking and coughing, and Ruby takes several long pulls, holding it in before breathing out. This seems to please Kithri, who smiles and laughs. Ta'kal refuses the pipe. "I recognize that smell. I prefer to remain at my peak."
Kirthri shrugs. "Suit yourself. I was just cooking up something to eat. Fish, fresh caught. There's more in the hut." She sits down next to the fire and begins turning over fish. There seems to be a lot more then what one halfling could eat alone, and you're starting to feel really hungry yourself. You introduce yourself as you sit next to the halfing, who offers you a trout. You begin to munch happily on it, this is some fine trout! "A bard eh? Well, can;t say I've seen many bards, or visitors for that matter, not out here in my forest. What can I do for the lot of you? Concerned, you ask her how she know about your friends on the road. She smiles again and pulls Sam towards, giving him a hug. "My cunning and crafty spy here told me. When he sent up the howl I knew I would be having guests, and roughly how many. Since you seem to be a few short, I guess you left some. Probably with all you gear." She takes a few more puffs of her pipe and starts blowing smoke circles.
You whisper to your friends about the pipe herb. Tabby wouldn't know, and Newt is still coughing. Ruby nods. "If you know where to get it. Not many people know how to grow it."
Ta'kal snorts. "And not many people would buy it... well alright, the kind of people Tanot knows would, but most people... well no. Many people would buy it, just not many worshipers of Kord or some of the more strict gods."
You turn back to the Halfing and ask what she would like in return for more of the pipe weed. "Well... now I have plenty of food out here, and fresh water, and I don't go to town too often, so money is hardly of any use... " She looks over to Ta'kal and chuckles. "And your friend there is too big for me. Plus I don't think I'm his type anyway. I can;t think of much I would want from you."

You mention that you're also traveling with a half elf, and that he's a bard like you, and kinda cute. You're sure you could come to an agreement. Kithri takes a thoughtful puff on her pipe. "Well now, I'd have to see this pony before I buy a ride. You nip out to your wagon and bring him here, and we'll talk. Now I'm all for group activities, but I'm not one for other women, or men who will break me in half, so I'll have to ask you to spend the night elsewhere. There's a nice little spot a bit further down the road from your wagons, I suggest there."
As you leave the campsite Ruby rumbles and whispers, rather loudly to Tabby. "What did she mean he's 'Kind acute?' Did they do something before I joined up?" Great, you forgot how jealous Ruby can get, and you'll need to talk Tanot into this whole thing.

Tabby shrugs at Ruby's questions. "Not that I know of. Janice doesn't seem to like him too much." you fall back and walk with Ruby. You tell her that, no, nothing has happened. You were trying to make him sound better, to get a better deal. To use Kithri's metaphor, you'd clean a horse before taking it to market, wouldn't you? Tabby nods, "You always get a better price for a better looking horse."
Besides, you promised not to keep things from her, remember? This seems to calm Ruby down, who takes your hand.
You get back to the wagons in short order. "Damn, looks like you're right Grue, they DIDN'T get eaten. I own you a steak." You cut to the chase. Tanot is needed to sleep with a halfing druid so that you can get a herb that you think you can sell for a hefty profit. "Wait, what? A Halfing? Why didn't I get a say in..." He pauses, thinking. Oh no, the halfling isn't bad looking at all, and in fact she isn't. She was a hair under 4 feet, and slender. Auburn eyes and hair to match. Trying to sweeten the deal, and out of Ruby's earshot, you mention her pert little breasts. By this point Tanot's eyes have lost focus. Besides, even if she wasn't good looking, he would STILL have to do it. You should NEVER bet against Janice! "Alright, I'll handle these... negotiations. Give me a moment to get ready." He slips into his wagon, and emerges a little while later, wearing nicer clothes and holding a bottle of liquor. "With this, it shouldn't matter what she looks like. Lead the way."
Leaving everyone but Ruby with instructions on were to set up camp, you head back into the forest. Ruby accompanies you and Tanot, who are following Sam. You get back to Kithri's patch. You find her cleaned up and in a silken robe, which is a surprise. She's still smoking the pipe, and come up to Tanot. She walks around him once, a grin on her face. "Well well well, You weren't kidding. How are ya in the sack? I haven't had anyone to warm my bed in almost a year."
Tanot looks down on the halfling and back at you. "Hadn't you better get back to the others? And, Kithri was it? I'll give you a night you'll never forget."
As you leave the camp you hear a cork coming out of a bottle, and a giggle that you assume is Kithri's. Ruby takes your hand again. "Hey Janice... I'm sorry."

You fidget and are tempted to ask Ruby is she would like to watch because... well because you're a pervert. But first you ask why she was sorry. "Well... for being so jealous earlier. I mean, I should have known you and Tanot never had a thing, and that you would have told me if you did. I'm sorry."
You hear a moan coming from the camp. The both of you turn and you hear another. Ruby scratches her head and starts to shuffle her feat. You hear a wave of words in a language you don't understand. You half turn to Ruby and start to ask when she cuts you off. "So... um... Wow that sounds... oh hell. Wanna see what those two are doing?" Now you remember why you are falling in love with this woman.
The two of you sneak back to the camp, Ruby doing a better job of stealth then you. You're surprised to see the Tanot and Kithri going right at it in the middle of her camp, not even on a bedroll or anything. As you try to get closer, you hear a growling behind you. You attempt you last trick again. You still have a few pieces of jerky left, and a roll or two. Ruby follows your lead and holds out her jerky as well. Sam looks at the food, then at you, then at the two in the camp. He sniffs the food and takes the biggest piece of jerky, and walks away, chewing on it. You get an eyeful of the two for about twenty more minutes, neither of them seems to be able to stop!
You hear another growl behind you. Sam is back, and this time he ignores the food. You offer him more, and even a chance to get some fine prime rib, you still have some form Sausage. He seems to consider this for a while but he growls again and grabs onto the hem and gently tugs. It seems that the twenty minutes is all you get.
As you put some distance between you and the camp, Sam stops pulling on you, and starts to lead you again. As you reach the edge of the forest Ruby pulls on you hand, stopping you. "So... how long until the others start getting worried?"

That's a terrible idea. That's how you turn an awesome goat into the BBEG.

He's a Druid's animal companion. They always get smarter.
I know Zanne has a few levels in rogue, but do you think we can get her a few in druid?

You scold Sam for being so cowardly, being afraid of Gregor! The wolf slinks slowly out from behind you, then dashes back as Gregor bleats loudly at him. Seemingly satisfied, Gregor bleats one more time before going back to his grazing on the edge of camp. Sam looks up at you pleadingly, but you'll have none of it and scold him again. The wolf huddles down and crawls to Zanne, who looks at his puppy-dog eyes and hugs him. "You poor little puppy! I am so sorry Gregor was mean to you! I will have a talk to him later." He begins betting the wolf and feeding him bits of meat. "I always wanted a dog when I was little. I would imagine Gregor and the hound playing." Sam looks over his shoulder at you in an almost... smug fashion.
You aren't sure who won this round.

"Actually, this is great. We'll put Sam in the show. 'Come see the amazing Gregor and his trained pooch, Sam'. It'll be great. The crowd will love it. We'll put Gregor and Sam in together and everyone can be amazed as Gregor has his pet, Sam, do his chicken impressions."

Give a teasing smile to Sam while saying this. Soften the metaphorical blow with some of our choicest provisions.

The bastard is getting spoiled by Zanne.
But I agree with the pet part.
Of course... how will we get Sam and Kithri to come with us? Kithri seems to have everything she wants in her clearing.
