Last time you saved Zanne from being wrongfully accused of theft, and received a letter from Miranda, with only an address and her name on it.
The address is that of the local Temple of Pelor in Temple Square, not too far from your current location, the Market District.

Holding Ruby's hand,t he two of you start the walk to Temple Square. The closer you get, the nastier the glares at the two of you, the the patrons of some of the more open minded deities pay you no mind.
Along the way, Ruby pulls you into a bakery, and the two of you end up leaving with several snack cakes and cookies, which Ruby is munching on with every sign of enjoyment. Again you marvel at how much she can eat, all without ruining her figure. If you ate even half the sweets she did, you'd be too sore to move. AND she just had lunch, twice.
As she eats a rather large cookie, she turns to you. "Hey Janice... I know this Miranda is a friend of yours, but who is she? Other then a Paladin."

You explain that you only knew Miranda for a short while. In the few days you spent in Tabby's home village, she sang with you a few times, and told you the lay of the land. Before leaving the village, she gave you the padded vest that Newt now has. That was when you kissed her, and only the one time, and you didn't use tongue. The vest saved your live once.
You aren't sure yourself why she's following you though. And, to be honest, you're more surprised she contacted you instead of Tabby.
You enter Temple Square, and it become apparent how it got it's name. Steeples of all the major good and neutral gods rise like a forest, though the white stone architecture of the sun god stands higher then the others. Pelor's symbol, wrought in gold, reflects the sun, drawing your eyes to it. The huge doors to the temple stand open to admit the public. People flow steadily in and out of the building..

You assure Ruby that Miranda is old enough to be your mother, and that she might have even met your parents once when you were a baby.
You like them young. Ruby rolls her eyes. "Yeah, because those couple of years you have on me TOTALLY make you a cradle robber." But she seems to be holding your hand a bit more comfortably now. You can tell that you did make her feel better.
You step into the temple, pews flanking a red carpet that goes all the way to the alter. You see a few people kneeling in prayer before it, Pelor's holy symbol dominating that end of the temple. Looking around, you don't see anyone who looks like Miranda, but you do see several priests, the nearest being an old fellow snoozing quietly in the pew right next to you. At first you think he might be deep in prayer, but you hear a gentle snoring after a few second.

Leaving the old fellow to his nap, you start walking towards another priest, one who is actually functional. You expected your booted feet to ring out on the marble floor, but they make little more noise then if you where barefoot. The temple really is rather peaceful.
Thinking about it, you don't really know if anyone, apart from Ta'kal, prays to any particular god. You've seen Fa'ral and Kithri pray at a few nature shrines that you've past, but those encompass a few gods. You've uttered a few prayers to Fharlanghn and Avandra yourself, but you don't owe any allegiance to these gods.
You approach the young priest, who is having a conversation with another. Looking up, he smiles in greeting. "And how may I assist you? Have you come to pray? Or perhaps for some healing, though they don't normally come through the front door for that, and you look to be in good health."

Taking a big breath, you latch yourself onto Ruby and tell the priests that you want to get married, but Ruby insisted on a traditional Pelor wedding. Ruby, catching on quick, Wraps an arm around you and smiles at the priests. The Young Priests' eyes widen as he openly balks at your request. "Well... I don't... I mean I..."
The other priest, around middle ages if you has to guess, simply nods. "Well we do weddings on weekends. We ask for a small donation to maintain the church, but we do the ceremonies for free. You can also rent one of out larger rooms for the reception."
Well HE isn't as fun. You let the younger priest know that you were only joking. Though he is visibly relived, he gets upset. "Ma'am, you shouldn't joke about such things! This is a place of worship!"
"Matthew, please go clean the alter." The middle aged priest waves the Matthew away. "Now Ma'am, how can I actually help you? Or are you here to tease old men?"

You accept his invitation, and he ushers you past the alter through a set of smaller doors. "This hallways leads to our rooms, and the larger rooms I was telling you about, in case that reception ends up happening anyway." You notice a faint blush creep onto Ruby's face. You follow Father McKinny into a small dining room, and he starts preparing the teas. Ruby takes a few cookies from a dish and pops them into her mouth.
You introduce yourselves to him, and you ask the priest what Miranda has been up to, and if he knows why she wanted to see you. "Well she didn't say, only that we should expect you. Shes been traveling for a few weeks now. She's out right now dealing with a goblin problem we've been having in some of the fields, but she should be back any time now." He sets the steaming tea in front of you and Ruby. "I must admit, it isn't often that we have Paladins come out here. We generally don't need them. You look over at Ruby, and cough politely after her fifth sugar. Raising a brow, she drops one more in before taking a sip. You mention to McKinny that you didn't encounter any goblins on the road here. You also ask where most of the Paladins end up going. "Oh I'm sure you didn't. It's mostly scouting parties, but we think it's best to nip the problem in the bud. And they head pretty much everywhere from here. We had one come through here on his way to the Great Desert, on the other side of the Dwarven mountains. He said there was an artifact of extreme importance out there somewhere. Wanted it to stop a dragon or a Lich. I can't remember which."
Several hours pass by in pleasant conversation with Father McKinny. You learn some interesting facts about the city, and he receives some news about the outside world. As you and Ruby are about to leave, you see an armored figure walking along the hallway in Full Plate. It stops and turns to you, waving. Tugging at it's helmet, it takes off the visored helm and the flowing locks of Miranda spill out. "Hello Janice! Who's your friend?"

You don't remember selling the ring, but you haven't seen it in a long time, so it wouldn't surprise you if you did. Opening the small box, an incredibly intricate silver chain sits inside, on top of a letter.
You laugh nervously at Ruby and explain to her he was a teenage boy that you flirted with to get a couple silver knocked off some supplies. "And you like them young. I thought you were going to tell me about anything like this Janice!" Suddenly your earlier words seem like a bad idea.
Luckily, Miranda comes to your rescue. "Oh Pelor, you should have HEARD him blubbering after you left. He kept going on about how 'Once he was a famous jeweler, then Janice would love him!' You told him to find a different girl, but he was infatuated with you. Don't worry Ruby, she didn't kiss him." She tilts her head back and laughs. "Nope, only me. Which was QUITE the shock, mark my words. The first, and only, woman I've kissed."

Ruby has eased up a little, but she hasn't eaten that cookie yet so things look grim. You take the note out and open it, holding it so Ruby can read it as you do.
    "My Dearest Janice,
This is my finest creation yet. I know you have no feelings for me," Ruby leans back and pops the cookie into her mouth as she keeps reading. "But I hope that someday you might. Until then, please accept this necklace. It is made of the same ore as the ring I gave you. At the very least, if you choose to not take this gift, I only ask that you please wear it against your skin on the way to whatever jeweler you sell it to. Tell them of me, and that shall be enough for me. I think of you nightly, and I crave to taste your lips, "And things get a little more intimate from there. Miranda leads you out into the main chapel, and the exit doors. "I'll be coming over later, so I wont bother to say goodbye. See you in a few hours." She waves as you leave.
You have to pass by the Market District on your way home, so you decide to stop by Ralph's stall and invite him along to dinner as well. He smiles and greets you warmly. "Good afternoon Janice! I see you twice in one day, is very nice to do so! And to what do I owe this pleasure to now?" You invite him to dinner tonight, you're already having a guest so another wouldn't hurt. He laughs and pats his large belly. "I'll make sure to have a snack before hand. I do not want to eat you out of your new house!"

Putting a hand in your pocket, you slip the Dwarven ring onto your finger. You've been keeping it with you, just in case. His voice trails off and his eyes get wide when he sees the ring on your finger. "I, um... I'm sorry. I didn't mean ta be rude. Now lets see..." He straightens up and takes a careful look at the necklace with a jeweler's eyepiece. "This is fine work... done by a human. I don't recognized the maker's mark... I'd give you 50... no 60 silver for it, easy. It's a plain necklace, so I could add to it, and if it was made of gold that price would double. Who made this?" Takign it back, you tell him of Tabby's village and of the Blacksmith's apprentice. "Bah, a boy who can make this doesn't belong at a forge, we belongs in a workshop." He pauses, thoughtful for a moment. "Would you mind pointing this village out to me on a map?"

You explain to the Dwarf that the chain was a gift, but you can tell him were to find the maker. The shopkeeper takes out a map of the country, and you point out the village's rough location. You tell him there's a newly built tower on a nearby hill, so it shouldn't be that hard to find. Oh, and it wasn't you who told the dwarf. He was just happening by, alright? The dwarf nods. "It was... nice. Ralph is a... nice man."

Thank you very kindly for the invitation." You know... the party is out and about a lot. Fast food is great, and maybe there might be future invites...? Ralph laughs again.
