    106 KB Zombie Quest 11 Journal !w68jcmPgR6 10/22/10(Fri)00:59 No.12530130
Operation High noon is hours away but that is the farthest thing on your mind right now.

Dom runs through the blood stained fields of the central courtyard as he tried to escape Stormy's grip.

Who better to come out right this second but Rainy herself who was walking towards you the whole time.

Foot steps stop on the grass as the two regard each other from range. Rainy's face wears something of a lukewarm expression.

Question her about Stormy's admission about their strange relationship and the veracity of it.

Be bothered by it. Dom' s a bleeder heart. He's having second, and a few more, thoughts.

Have that date in the meanwhile.

OOC-ly, this part of the story, while it remains part of my interest --characterization and all that stuffs-- I feel like it might derail the frenetic action feel of the Quest.

Nevertheless, date on, or whatever euivalent our knife-o-phile Dom-stalker might have in mind.

Boo. At least ask it to Rainy, and later Stormy, in-game.

Dom has to let things slide for the moment, but remind GR that he might try to do something nonetheless, since she know him so well.

Now, what do? Invite GR along for check-up on others?

PS: We gotta ask Sally's opinion about this... GR lets slip about her for some reason.

You gravitated towards the first outfit, an unassuming hoodie with a black leather pants number.

The whole thing is iconic of the Suicide Squad, and if nothing else is just as unassuming. When it comes down to it, an average looking kid surrounded by badasses sounds far more scarier than a rogue transformed by the apocalypse surrounding them.

The Adventurer's Hoodie grants you a sense of lightness, and for that matter, greater speed and tolerance for the objects you carry. Practically the basic skills needed to survive in this apocalypse.

    Good Morning.

El Rana already has a Wield/Throw skill. You can put a point in it to improve it, instead. I'm assuming that a Zed that does not turn into a minced meat in Luchabro's hands can be wielded or thrown as improvised bludgeoning weapon.

Also, it looks like he can Grapple, Clothesline, and Wield/Throw with each hand, too!

Captcha suggested a throwing move a while back, maybe throwing a zombie into another zombie?

Can't think of a good name for it, though.

    My Rant Starts:

New Move Name: <DEATH MEETS DEATH>

El Rana finds heroic strength even in death and shows it through an almost ironic use of his foes. By grabbing the undead menace around the ankles or arms, El Rana swings the foul creature with all of his Lucha might into its brethren turning the zombie into a literal weapon of DEATH as he pummels his foes into a bloody mass of nonexistence.
    >> Anonymous 10/23/10(Sat)14:51 No.12545701
Rana already has Tag-Team, which allows for special Double Techs with another character.

    >>12541821

I like the signature move idea. I think the first move should act as a base of sorts. With each new move branch away as part of either the "North" or "Star" track. Of course the different branches can occasionally reconnect for a super "North" and "Star" move. That said the first move most of course contain both North and Star. I also believe it should be simple to underscore it's awesomeness. I propose "Fist of the North Star." A simple, powerful and fast punch that causes the target to explode on impact.
    >> Anonymous 10/23/10(Sat)15:55 No.12546344
    >>12546110

Copyright infringement. I suggest something that incorporates both, somehow. But I like the idea of a base attack for a chain.

Something simple, yet elegant, that will be sturdy and provide as a launching point for all further combos...

    Perhaps something simple, like "Polaris"?

A simple stance that can open up into an infinite number of attack combinations. Solid and unwavering, it gives a bonus to the next counter/attack used, and furthermore gives a "stacking" bonus to any additional moves chained to the first, provided they hit/land.

Roleplay: A doctor looks over the infected patients, he wonders if he'll be able to save them all...the problem is despite the mental magnificence of this young man Dexter, there is still so much that the two do not understand.

Treating each as a case by case...its what doctors...scientist's do...despite how heart wrenching it becomes. But the lethality of this treatment seems risky to say the least.

The young man Stig's recovery seemed like a miracle...if a little sentimental, however the others.

Maybe there is a way...to reduce the lethality and increase the abundance of the treatment...that way those young men and women no longer have the view that they have nothing to live for after infection.

Look at sample in the vial, it is a sample of dom's blood...next to it a vial from that young man that proved immune.

    "What secrets do you hold?"

Action: Doctor is working overtime without rest to find a way to reduce lethality of the cure...maybe he has had enough of death and wants to give life back to those who deserve it.....cause seriously College students these days, more undead then the monsters walking the school grounds.

    Dex is no such doctor.
From the cold monitors of the Link room, he controls the school through the many cameras placed all over campus. He sees into Hal's workings, and from a distance transmits orders about the virus. hints almost.

He sees Dom, the hero of the story skip into the darkness of the art room with his supposed one and only.

And on the many cameras angled at the west wall, the endless faces of all the people he's exacted revenge against though overdone and heavy was his punishment.

And nearly fatal was his price.

When he had lost the use of his legs trying to test the useability of an antivirus, when the few people who treated him with respect regarded him with pity at the sight of him on that chair- when the final formula from that cookbook came together for him the night before halloween- was it only a matter of time before he set out to pull the trigger ?

You are now Dexter Pointman, and before you is the uneventful silence before the oncoming storm of flesh and teeth. The silence fills your thoughts with introspection , ghosts of the past coming back to you. Perhaps you can regard this moment with an objective attitude.

You remember how Hal approached such a problem, unlike the sci fi prosthetics with metal and pistons you have a more streamlined and light material resembling organic legs. The polymer that the leg is cast in doesnt encroach the human's water ratio .The protein vessels act as pumps for your blood while a mechanism divers its flow to drive the motion of "walking"

The whole thing would require a bit of rehabilitation. But for some the effect of "getting" legs was instantaneous.

My first impression of Dex is that he would actually be hesitant to accept the gift of legs. What was at first a crippling handicap (no pun intended) he took on as a sort of challenge to the world. That he doesn't NEED to be normal to do what he needs to do.
It wouldn't be until after he had already succeeded in his plans that he would take those legs.

Dex has some score to settle that only he can perceive. Against who and what and at what stakes are unknown to everyone but himself. Hence why he's insane.

He looks up at her behind tear stained eyes, almost hopeful that his glasses and the dark cover the weakness he has shown in front of her. He turns around then, moving his wheelchair to face the screens and the zombie hordes, he had been studying them before she walked in...and he tried now to find sanctuary in that idea once more.

"If that is all, get out...and thank you for reminding me of how weak I am physically...not all of us are blessed with fully functioning bodies, but not all of us are willing to let that defeat us."

He sneers at himself at that point, that he the creator of the apocalypse, he the person now trying to undo the damage thanks to the kindness of a special few was reduce to tears because of the words of a single woman...one he had respected and even seen as a rival....hurt him more now then ever.

As the tears come again...accompanied by sobbing and the despair of it all, he tried to fend her off hoping she'd just leave him alone.

    "Get out...GET OUT...I don't need you...OR ANYONE."

He looked down at his lifeless legs again and smacked them as hard as he could. "Work damn you bastards." he thought to himself. "WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK."

"Until I've cleaned up this mess, and the world's mess- Until I've made this right I will "walk" through this world the same way I entered it"

" N-NONSENSE ! " Bellows Ready ," How selfish can you be !? You already paid the price for gambling for the cure by forfeiting your ability to even STAND !! And yet you insist to bear this cross on your back- one that you even admit that humanity itself doesn't currently deserve ! WHY !? WHY DO YOU JUDGE YOURSELF SO HEAVILY ?! "

The words rang in your head , had your head been hollow you would've been the fucking bell that rang those same words back to yourself.

And yet, you felt that there WAS something in your resistance, there WAS that substance that shook Ready's core. That inner drive that neither presided over the welfare of man nor the advancement of Dexter's own status.

    No there was something here.

    A challenge.

A goal that only Dexter himself would see to the end.

And Ready can all but see what that is if she dared to even look into your eyes right now.

T'was asked in one of the early thread how Dom was coping calmly to the fact that he is dooming the rest of mankind. Journal answered that he was still in a shock, they all are.

I kind of liked this sequence now, from Dom+Stomy+GRainy various psychoses in work, El Rana and North Star's fey bravura of those who had and are still facing death, the calm oase of the Book Club Brigade's reading a book for Helen, to the guilt-driven, emotionally charged outburst of Dex on Ready.

Since Hal reported that he could have a less lethal version done within an hour (this was around 9AM), anyone who wouldn't turn within that hour would wait for the 2nd Generation Cure.

" The fact that's weakened enough to not cause any mutations within the body means that the effect is one time use- meaning that you can't become immune to the z-virus after taking it. >No immunity to zombies when surrounded on all sides by them
    >No super powers
Well, this is going to have to be a personal choice with any Infected that have a choice.

Also, you said one-time use. Does that mean that the 2nd Gen. Cure can't be administered if someone becomes Infected a second time? Do they simply explode? Or can they be treated with the 1st Gen. Cure?

Either way, transmit all of this information to the President and the outside world. This is what they needed: a Cure to the Zombie Virus.

Bea Stig got their turn but they will crop up again, esp Bea's reaction to the SS mourning. OH hey that's an idea...

Well, since the chapter seems to be reserved for characterization, I feel fine with it.

    Oh, right, there's C+Se7en too.

EL RANA, a man who has nothing to lose, to teach a lesson to someone with too much to lose.

    IT IS THE LUCHA WAY

GRainy with a trussed up Dom.

. . . If that is not in character, Griska, our elderly and certainly experienced sniper.

Fucking hell...I told you guys having around a unstable criminal mastermind with a thing for explosives was a bad idea. Lets hope this person can talk her down from blowing everything up.

Every one. It felt like it was just the two of us bantering for awhile.
Also, I don't get the 1200 thing in Stormy's flashback.

I believe it was the time she was scheduled for release, maybe the day or the time she was imprisoned. Still a little confusing but hey it could even be an equality thing.

    12hours is half a day.

Hohohohoho this seems like a great time to go to bed for me...

But plenty of deciding for Anon ! Count on Se7en-like influences to justify this !

Goodnight and have fun ! I'll leave it to you all.

Iam still up for El Rana.....bbuuuuttt
My second choice would have to be the girl in the ask sixth from the left, who has gotten little to no air time but seems to be able to see without sight.

Interesting dialogue choices between someone with problems and the two people I least expect to talk about their own at all

Ah, that clarifies things for me.

I'm voting for a tied-up Dom present from GRainy, but it'll probably just me...

    I'm thinking North Star
I'm sure he has some Dauism philosophies that are deep and meaningful too this situation.

Rana also works he see's death everyday yet still he fights. (if it happens too be Rana and he calms her down we have too make her a mask)

Let's go with North Star; he could use some more fleshing out.

Also, I'm still waiting on the explanation of "one-time use" for the 2nd Gen. Cure, and its implications.

Thinking on it, I think Griska would be a good choice. What with being a sniper that fought through Stalingrad, I'm sure she has some deep personal insights to help Stormy. Probably something about killing Nazis.
    >> Anonymous 10/25/10(Mon)14:34 No.12567774
    >>12566344

I think it's just saying the effect is one time only. So they'd have to take the cure again if they get bit again. Or maybe that's wishful thinking.
    >> Anonymous 10/25/10(Mon)14:38 No.12567815
    >>12567736

I'm for Griska too, if only because she's the only one left that hasn't gotten any characterization. Maybe have her act all grandmotherly toward Stormy. Or is she more the grizzled combat veteran? I'm not really sure how she'd act yet.
