You send Tybalt after the plaguebearers, focusing your psyker powers on the wound in your leg. The toxins in it sizzle away and you do just enough to partially heal the wound. You don't want to exhaust yourself.

For good measure, you have the medical servo skull inject some anti-toxins into the slit.

Another Pink Horror slithers out of the portal, Filigree taking care of it immediately, reaching her other hand into the portal and forcing the next in line through, eviscerating it as she did.

The portal closed with a crack. It was obvious to them that this wasn't a secure location.

Gah that stings. Thank the god emperor for that servoskull though.
Alright- after Tyablt and the Plague deamons, see where they're coming from. The important thing is to stop these guys before they can set up a foothold

Switch to your force blade for now- unless of course we can duel wield. In which case stick to the force blad we have now and the inferno pistol we brought along.
Save the psycanon bolts until something REALLY nasty comes along

You holster the bolt pistol, tightening your grip on the force blade. You make your way after Tybalt, Filigree tagging along, her entire front side splattered in blood.

She licked her lips, giggling madly, her lightning claws crackling with energy.

The cyber mastiff easily takes care of the plaguebearers one after another, their bones easily cracking under the force of his jaw.

One of the daemons raises its rusty blade, swinging at the dog, the edge screeching off his armored chasis. A few sparks are seen and his left foreleg grinds, barely able to move. Even crippled, the mechanical hound manages to get out of the way before a second blow is struck.

(err...you critted 6 times in a row... uhhhh... ummmm...)

Screaming in rage, you bring your sword down on the daemon, the blade blazing a faint violet with psykic energy. You cleave the thing from shoulder to hip, sheathing your blade as you light up another cigar. You take a deep drag as the Daemon explodes in a huge ball of sparks and psykic energy.

The backlash of the blast, washes across the room, tearing the other plaguebearers to shreds.

You click your tong, nodding toward Tybalt, the engineering servo skull getting right on it.

Tybalt whined and let the servo skull go, letting it repair the severed power cable in his shoulder.

Filigree was trembling in excitement. "KHORNE DAEMONS? WHERE?" She looked around, spotting an unfortunate bloodletter near where the nurgle daemons were coming out.

Howling like a banshee, she lept upon the daemon, the bloodletter only managing to parry one slash, the other claw slicing it into several pieces.

Tybalt yipped and ran in a circle once, clearly excited by the daemonette's insane drive to slaughter everything khornate.

Tybalt whined, sitting down, his mechanical joints whirring as he moved restlessly.

Filigree scraped the lightning claws against the floor, ruining the ornate design of the tiles. She made a sound you couldn't identify but it sounded exasperated.

She's got to learn quite a bit of self-control. Filigree may be a daemonette, a creature driven not only by its instincts to seek the fastest and most exhilarating fulfillment of its desires, but even created only for that reason. Yet she's no average daemonette. She's ours. And dammit if we aren't able to teach her superior self control than any of her kind has ever known.

The scout servo fly in close to the khornate daemons, buzzing around their heads. They have the equivalent of las pistols which they fire at the bloodletters, singing them, filigree hot on their tail.

Honestly, you weren't sure if they were chasing the servo skulls, or running from the insane daemonette.

You pull out your inferno pistol and take several shots, easily dissipating the plaguebearers. You follow the trail of them to a portal around the corner.

The fight becomes a cakewalk, the nurgle daemons too slow to react to your blade as they exit the portal.

Filigree had located the khornate portal and had leaned in halfway, pulling back completely drenched in blood, the portal closing with a pop. She ran her tongue over her lips, giggling like a schoolgirl.

    "Need help over there Quizzy?"

You slash apart several Plaguebearers as they barely exit, the portal stopping its onslaught for a moment, before dissipating into thin air.

    "Nah I'm fine."

You hear a voice come over the com. "The newest batch of Arco Flagellants is ready Inquisitor Lord! I shall deploy them in the inner city to deal with any grunts that try to get through."

Filigree ignored you. She seemed to be having fun defacing some of the colored mosaics on the floor. Tybalt was chasing a fly, barking at it, wagging his tail as he tried to snap it out of the air.

You use your radio. It was Galatea who responded. "Ah! Yes Inquisitor. I've been getting updates from all over. It appears that these smaller portals are from the planet's proximity to heavy warp activity. The real enemies have only just started showing up. I've seen some disks and mounts and hounds and... Hold on...!" You hear a faint explosion. " Ha ha! Oh wow... Did you know Great Unclean Ones turn into jelly if you shoot them with a rocket? It's a riot!"

She took a breath to calm herself. "Wonderful defensive choices Inquisitor. Minimal casualties. If you'll excuse me though. I am due for an arm wrestling match with a Keeper of Secrets. Galatea over and out."

Just as you put the Auspex away, you heard the sound of tearing metal. Several Daemonettes were shearing through a nearby bolted door.

You're doing great on bolter ammo considering how many clips you picked up. You're down to about 3/4 your inferno pistol ammo.

Despite the high amount of warp activity, you don't feel like perils will trouble you at the moment. You don't have a headache and feel very focused.

Filigree seems fine, happily carving cartoonish phalic symbols in the colored tile floor. Tybalt had found what looked like used to be a candelabra and was happily chewing on it.

It didn't matter. Filigree was there now, slicing the door off its hinges and attacking her own kind. Unlike the Bloodletters and Plaguebearers, these daemonettes were as fast as she was.

She took a deep breath and you could hear a mighty crack over the radio and what must have been a dozen daemons scream as they died.

"No inquisitor. Something huge is coming. I have already contacted Biel-Tan and had them ready a Revenant Titan in case of-"

She was cut off by an enormous crack from outside, the sky literally tearing open, and from the long jagged wound poured hundreds of Chaos Space Marine drop pods, all of them crashing down in various places outside the city and within the outskirts.

You send out the servo skulls and try to skirt around the fiend. One of the scouts gets knocked out of the air immediately and crushed, the daemon screeching in annoyance.

You could see Tybalt now, a large gash was present in his metal plating, though he was still standing, the twisted remains were impeding his movement. He had automatically switched to defensive mode.

You heard a shout, Filigree darting from the hiding spot and slashing with her claws. The fiend darted, tilting its head, seemingly confused as to why a daemonette was attacking it.

It is facing away from you.

Tybalt immedeately limps away taking sheleter in a corner behind a huge stone pot containing a small tree.

You're in a large hallway of gothic architechure decorated with huge stone vaces containing small trees and stained glass of the saints. The floor is a multi colored mosaic, divided into large squares, each one the colors of one of the sisterhoods.

Between each of the stained glass windows is a large pillar, which turns into a buttress like structure as it reaches the ceiling. It is unclear if they are decorative or a support structure.

    Ascension integrates the two systems.
Basically you can use a power at fettered (half psy rating) and have no chance of psykic phenom or perils, unfettered (full psy rating, phenom on 9s), or push (bonus to psy rating, always get phenom and at +10 to phenom roll per bonus psy rating).

The fiend momentarily distracted, you focus your psychic strength thinking of those who you're protecting this instant - Tybalt, already damaged by the daemons attacks and Filigree, only saved by her armour - as well as all those countless souls fighting the ruinious forces this very moment. Speaking a quick prayer to the Emperor and assured that Esme is probably protecting you from any malevolent warp influence as well, you concentrate on weakening the inlays' hold. Hoping to distract the creature before you with a rain of gems and gold, you pay a great deal of attention trying to get the decorations fall down over an extended amount of time in order to buy you a chance to strike at the stunned fiend.

"You've been a good boy. Mauling all those daemons but now I need you to cheer up sister Anna for a bit. And keep an eye on her and her squad while we prepare to establish a channel to the fleet in orbit." Pat him on the head and point in Anna's direction.
