Some of you might remember 2 days ago, when we had our celebratory “One Year Anniversary” thread for Adeptus Evangelion.

Some of you might remember me saying in that thread that we had planned to have a new PDF, a GMing Supplement for AdEva chock full of fancy new toys. A PDF that was, unfortunately, not quite ready on time.

Some of you almost certainly have no idea what I am talking about. Some of you probably don’t even care.

But I have a belated gift for ALL of you.

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8CM23UMO

[REDACTED], an Adeptus Evangelion GMing supplement with helpful general tips, challenging new enemies, and detailed scenarios with which to amaze, please and terrify your players.

In case Megaupload is not hip and cool enough for you, have a crack at these instead:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?vs5smxgvieb6a25

    http://www.4shared.com/file/7sNk5sON/Adeptus_Evangelion_REDACTED.html

    I remember. Cool, thanks!
    >> Black Mesa Janitor 12/27/10(Mon)18:37 No.13311736
But don't mistake me for someone who would deny credit where credit is due. I may be the head of the project in general, but the real captain of this particular ship would be Sachiel (the namefag sometimes seen in AdEva threads, not the Angel of the same name. That would just be silly).

REDACTED only exists because of him, so direct any related back-patting his way.

Effectively a V3. We are calling it "Master Edition", though. In that this is going to be the last time we re-do the core rulebook, we swear to god.

So we are going to take our time and make sure it is RIGHT this time.

That said, we have like 70% of the new material in some form of draft or another. So it might get done in a reasonable amount of time.

Three simple tips to being a good roleplayer -
    1. Its a game of pretend, you're there to have fun. So let your imagination have fun pretending.
    2. Its a group game, everyone is there to have fun. So don't be a dick.
    3. If you are playing in person, bring snacks.
    >> Anonymous 12/27/10(Mon)20:04 No.13312538
One thing for the master edition, though you probably already planned it:
Please make the AT rules clearer. We are already at the fifth angel, and almost every session we have another discussion about how AT really works. Maybe it's because none of us are native speakers, but I'd say we are fairly adept.
In fact, would you mind explaining the basic AT systematics and especially the neutralization power to me, preferably in simple words, each not longer than "marmelade"?
    >> Black Mesa Janitor 12/27/10(Mon)20:10 No.13312596
    >>13312538

    Example of ATS:
Unit 00's pilot has a SR of 53. He takes a full action on his first turn to fully spread his A.T. Field, giving him 5 ATS. On his next turn, he uses Neutralize on Sachiel, spending 5 ATP and thus decreasing his ATS by 5, leaving him with 0, but his field still spread. On the beginning of his third turn, his spent ATP, and thus ATS, refreshes to full and he may immediately choose whether or not to maintain the Neutralize power and for how much as a free action. For his next turn, he decides to only maintain it for 3, freeing up 2 ATS which he uses for other AT Powers. The turn following that, he maintains Neutralize for 5, again going to 0 ATS. When the battle ends, he stops maintaining neutralize, regaining all 5 ATS. If another target appeared, he would need to start up neutralize again, since he has stopped paying at least 1 ATP to maintain it.

Does that help, or do you need further clarification on some other part of it?

I'm not going to lie to you.

A lot of the stuff you have heard about you wont see for a long time. Like, we have three books scheduled to release before you see that stuff in print long time.

The only reason it even exists in any form is because some people ran off half cocked and worked on stuff that they thought sounded cool instead of what was actually on the agenda. The book where it actually fits in is the official book for "and everything else" which, as you can imagine, cant really be done before the last step because the 'and everything else' us defined by what hasn't been used elsewhere.

Because of the circumstances of its creation, most of it doesn't really work, and certain will not be valid by the time we get the point where it SHOULD have been started.

So, yeah. I figured that you deserved to know that Champion isn't something you were even supposed to hear about for a long time.

My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.

WWEva is World War Eva, which is exactly what it sounds - it pits factional Eva teams against each other. Hunt for Adam is...a hunt for Adam. Neon Exodus Galactica is Eva in Space, with enough wiggle to be WWEva in Space. Rewrite of Evangelion offers a degree of completely different rulesets for character, class and Eva creation.

v3: Everything is being reworked. Everything. If you have seen one single problem with any minute detail of v2, it WILL be gone.

WWE: Third Impact is over. The world still has evas. Humanity remains greedy. What else could happen?

Hunt For Adam: Adam was never found. The Angels never came. Technology progresses, and NERV seeks out the missing progenitor in a flying geofront as one by one, Angels awaken.

NEG: It's been years upon years, but the galaxy has still not yet been explored. AT fields begin to make this a possibility, and humanity awakens.

Rewrite: Thousands and thousands of possibilities. Every bit of material that didn't fit elsewhere and more planned specifically for it.

All: Lots and lots of fanservice.

Hunt for Adam basically places the EVA team in a mobile base such as a hover carrier, rather then defending a fixed site such as a geo front. The setting differers from the stock one in that adam was blasted to some random location in the globe during SI rather then staying in Antarctica like in Canon. NERV needs to track down and secure Adam before the Angels find him and cause a Third Impact. It may also contain extreme amounts of "RAMMING SPEED" or "FIRE A FULL BROADSIDE!" depending on how your GM and OPS director work. I ran a game using the idea in a moderately tweaked Evangelion setting (Basically setting SI for 2035 rather then 2000) and it worked pretty well.

The hunt for adam, and adepteva in general, triggered a loose memory in my brain.

When I was a kid I wrote a short story about two grails, one in each ice cap, that had the power to restore the Earth's broken magnetic field and keep out the alien space beasts about to come through and end humanity.

A scientific foundation, the Gilgamesh Group, is in Antarctica looking for the Grail of Light but in the crater they are digging into there is a giant space monster thing left over to guard the grail from before t he magnetic field was sealed a bajillion gillion years ago. The giant monster is going to kill them all, so the GG head scientist guy's son swallows one of the samples of monster matter they have, turning into a giant monster himself temporarily to fight the thing.

It got rejected from the school short fiction contest because they said I plagiarized the bible.

See, about half of the archangels had previous appearances in games or had existed conceptually but were never before used. The other half are basically "make X into an angel". Kabaiel falls into the former category.

    Well, actually...

While Kabaiel, even in its first appearance, was inspired by touhou, Marmaroth in its first actually had an entirely different origin. You're also off on where we got Jehudiam, but it does fall into the second category.

Zophiel is spot on though, despite its belonging to the first group.

I'm glad people are catching the references, we always put so many on.

Is there going to be an exp table to spend the 'Intel Inside' bonus exp. As it is you spend it on talents that DO NOT EXIST. That is a bit of an issue. All I can think of at the moment is buying p-scale versions of eva weapons with weapon points, as nothing else has an exp cost.

Yes but there is nothing that is even a guideline. There are no rules for getting section 2 staff or other such things. It would be nice if you had given an exp cost for a couple of minor things THEN said 'go from there'. As it is there is there is no idea what it would cost for such things at all.

Although in all seriousness as I've been poking at the AdEva rules, I had my players just slap together random evas and some characters.

One player ended up rolling so that he has both lightweight chassis and prototype. Does the armor penalty stack? If so, with his zero armor in several places (although eh does have redundant organs, adding extra wounds), is his Eva basically usless angel fodder?

Keter has Suppression, he can counter any and all A.T. Powers.

Furthermore, during the playtest one of our players attempted to use Dirac Breach to attack it from the other end of the world.

The Anti-A.T. Field (and the subsequent Anti-A.T. Blast) seeped through.

Mind you, this is still a perfecly valid narrative chain of events, but you may want to use it with Zaazenach or Marmaroth instead of turning an endgame Angel into a plot encounter.
