Your rousing speech has just gotten Sarina and her Pokemon to join you, and Seviper and Sableye are tentatively on your side as well. However, you did just faintly hear the laughter of the being you're calling the Monster, which might be a bit unsettling.

    What do?

You do this. Snover smiles at you as you pass them out, and you think you can see a gleam of either amusement or pleasure in Magnemite's eye as you stick the thing to her. Sableye takes two tentatively, then licks one, sticking it to Seviper's forehead. Sarina and company then take theirs.

(We look to Snovel and Magnemite as we say this) "...they are an enemy to our kind - kidnappers and slavemasters, and vile corrupters of life. We must, at all cost, seek to free any of our Pokemon brethren that are taken captive by them."

it's that attitude right there that WILL get us captured. there is a difference between being confident and being over confident.

We need a disguise, not a bold-go-fuck-yourself attitude.

I vote we attempt to convince Sarina to stand in as a mock trainer to prevent unwanted captures. it's taboo for other people to try and take another trainers pokemon. with rocket though, they don't have that problem, so even if Sarina were our actual trainer they would still try to capture us, but they wouldn't know we were wild and would try to take empty pokeballs.

team rocket isn't an enemy, and neither is team Magma, they are parties playing for economic control of regions, something pokemon don't care about, that's a human thing. What we should care about is why rocket is hatching eggs and doing experiments, and just what it is they released on the world.

Ignoring the BBEG isn't a good idea. We need to get in touch with rocket and figure out what the BBEG is. I mean, it killed pokemon and humans after all. Magma, to my knowledge hasn't been offing pokemon.

Team Rocket IS an enemy. They're kidnapping and enslaving Pokemon, and performing bizarre genetic experiments on them. Seviper and Sableye's master might have just been an innocent guard, but the organization itself and it's goals ARE evil. Especially when you consider that they took us from our mother.

Team Magma isn't our enemy directly, but they are Team Aqua's enemy at the moment - and by extension, Sarina's enemy as well. We have to help fight them back to keep them from taking over the entire region for our allies' sake.

As for the BBEG, he's too powerful to deal with at the moment, and for all we know he's made himself a poison-filled fortress in the facility he destroyed. We have to avoid fighting with him for now - otherwise he most likely won't show us mercy if we get in his way like we did when we saved Sarina.

that's why we go to rocket to deal with them and their experiments, while in turn finding out more about the BBEG, it doesn't matter if he's to powerful right now, we do ourselves a disservice to not find out as much about it as we possibly can. Whatever time we waste on other problems leaves this monster all the time in the world to get more powerful, and puts us in a bind when it comes time to deal with him.

Our quest is to deal with stop Rocket's experiments and deal with the monster they loosed, and if rocket tries to deal with the monster themselves, I wouldn't say it would be a terrible idea to help them.

we are schism OP, and I feel there is only two of us posting. Anyone on the sidelines feel like giving their two cents?

I want to confront Rocket and see where that takes us. Surely Sarina had friends that were killed in that lab, and Seviper and Sableye certainly want to get started with dealing out justice.

Going with Aqua and helping them does nothing to further our and our allies goals.

Plus, we deal with rocket and we'll find out where they took our eggs, and we're that much closer to finding our mother.

Rocket's presence in this area isn't as strong as Magma's though. If we focus all our attention on Rocket, then our allies at Aqua may be overrun by the hordes of Magma troops that have them under siege.

We help our allies take care of Magma first, then we can focus purely on Rocket. We can still investigate Rocket every chance we can spare, but our primary focus for now should be avoiding the BBEG and stabilizing the power of our allies.

We should do that. Exploring the town allows us to get situated, understand the area a bit better. Plus we may find another Pokemon to join our cause.

    Or experience, whatever works.

    1) Go to the base of operations for the team.

    3) Explore nearest town, also meeting up with important NPCs.
    4) Try to get a job to get a feel for how to operate as a team (and get some easy XPs and money) while getting into a better position within the group.

Buy some provisions of the appropriate type for everyone (batteries for Magnemite, some nice starchy things for Snover, some cheap gems or whatever for Sableye, and some small edible cooked animals for Seviper. Indeed, gotta start as soon as possible on the ground floor and prove our worth. Also, I like the idea of having a "shy reclusive but efficient trainer" in order to have some self-sufficiency.

Also, weren't there regular animals in the Pokemon universe-there's fish who aren't Pokemon, and things like worms that Pidgys eat. Perhaps better save off the Ratatta eating unless it's necessary...can always use the locals for help with directions when traveling if Seviper won't eat them.

I suppose it depends on how OP runs it. Almost all if not all real-world animal references have been ret-conned; Pidgys eat Caterpie and Weedle, Ekans eats Rattata and Pidgy, Humans eat Miltank as hamburgers. I mean, they don't address it in the anime, but even in the games you have mention of Slowpke Tails as a delecacy along with Farfetch'd.

Now, that's not to say that this makes it really Grimdark, just more so than most of the media portrays it.

A good thing to keep in mind when we finally do come in contact with the Rockets is to not go all racist on them at once, for the sake of our new comrades Seviper and Sableye, since their devotion towards us is rather dented after our grand speech, a damage that has to be repaired imo.

To be fair, I'm guessing that there are plenty of Rockets like the Grunts who don't know just how evil their Team is. I figure the jobs of actually stealing pokemon and the like is undertaken by members who are higher up on the food chain, while the grunts just sit on guard duty.

So yes, let's not just assume thatall Rockets must be 100% evil and go full-on HATE RAGE when we finally do meet up with them. If for no other reason than hate clouds good judgment.
