    It’s Eight O’clock. H.A.N.A. Quest Time.

You are Hannah. Also known as H.A.N.A. <A13> or simply as Thirteen, you are the product of Terran Empire biotechnology and designed to act as a living ship controller interface and as a substitute to Artificial Intelligence. You witnessed the destruction of the first extraterrestrial race Humanity encountered among the stars and saw Humanity retreat into the Void as the results of its arrogance began to destroy it. You rebelled against the Fleet to side with your friend, Six, as she and five other H.A.N.A. mutinied aboard the “Prime”, a Fleet Dreadnought. And lastly, your wrecked ship crash-landed on a planet called Thanela Prime, where you remained frozen in Cryostasis for 2000 years until an alien xenoarchaeologist team woke you up.

You are Hannah, and this is the real beginning of H.A.N.A. Quest. Enjoy.

How to survive in the world of H.A.N.A. Quest: (borrowed from Deathquest since I loved it)

    Use Common Sense – Please.

Use Creativity/Cunning – Now that we are out of flashbacks, I’ll be doing my best to keep the quest railroad free, and if there are multiple ways to achieve a certain goal, then I’ll allow just about anything – even if it gets you killed.

The Devil is in the Details – Say you happen to be wielding a power cable that’s heavily insulated so you won’t get killed by touching it – GREAT! Now just make sure that when you throw it at the baddies that the metal deck you’re standing on is not connected to them, or you are wearing some super-insulated boots. Otherwise…

Use Planning – I encourage this wholeheartedly. Goes hand in hand with the first two points.

Awesome/Rule of Cool – If it’s crazy enough to work, and looks awesome – and has only a slight chance of frying you to a crisp or launching you into space without a tether, well… I just might let you live after you do whatever it is you’re doing.

Ask Questions: Straightforward, and useful in seeing Point 3. I encourage this, as it stretches me to visualize in my writing more.

Roleplay Conversations: Good RP is very, very good, and will be rewarded accordingly. I mean, you guys turned Six back from insanity. So use those silver tongues!

You awaken in a wide, brightly lit room. As your eyes adjust to the rather harsh light, you make out that the entire room seems to be hewn out of stone. The ceiling has a couple burning florescent tubes hanging from it, and you notice a couple black globes hanging as well. You’re lying on one very comfortable bed, with what seems to be an IV stuck in your right arm. Amazed that aliens seeing a human for the very first time know basic human medical technology and can thread an IV, you look closer at your arm. And that’s when you notice the telltale bruising and puncture marks. Apparently they didn’t do such a good job finding a vein after all. Gone is your skintight uniform, and in place of that is a plush robe. At least it’s a covering, and a warm one at that. At the far end of the room there appears to be an electronic terminal and to the left of the room there is a closed metal door.

"Hello? Anyone there? I'm awake now!" There's no answer. Only what sounds like a slow dripping from far off.

    >>7546187
You slowly get to your feet, and shakily stand. A tug on your arm notifies you that your IV is still attached, and you carefully remove the needle without too much fuss. The stone floor is strangely warm to your bare feet, and heading across the room to the terminal you notice that the door has no visible means of opening it. The terminal seems to be a standard Terran Empire one, and there are two cables of medium length lying on the floor near it, both connected to the terminal but unconnected to anything else on the other end.

You notice the black globes on the ceiling beginning to turn to track and follow you.

Go with them, it's not like we're the sort to pop these two and take the rest of the ship by gunpoint. Nor, as fun as it could be, the sort to neatly decapitate the leadership of of 3 species and instate ourself in their place.

Imagine the change in this quest if that's what we did. The loss of our friend 6 and the blasting of our own self by the H.A.N.A. B's turning us from idealistic into a cold & calculating person who will do anything needed to secure her safety.

Who will see a trio of empires collapsed with her at the head of them, if it means finding her friend 6.

You quickly agree to go see the folks in charge, and the researchers chatter among themselves in excitement. One rushes over to an intercom in the wall and informs the occupied sections of the site that you have awoken and agreed to come. They quickly usher you towards the elevator, and it opens slowly, revealing four armed guards in what looks to be heavily armored suits.

From behind you comes the clatter of many feet on stone, as a small crowd from the dormitory rushes to see you. A small Seeker steps forward almost shyly, and you can see that in fact their skin is rather leathery in appearance. Their eyes are completely black, even if their facial features are rather flat and lacking in the lip department. The small Seeker clicks and clacks quietly, but Cam translates what your device does not pick up. "The little one is asking you if you'll take them with you. To the stars, that is."

"Well, that's up to your parents and the Council. But if they are okay with it, then sure!"

As an aside, is the Council here, or will we have to take a ship to wherever they are? I guess they might have traveled here once they learned that a live human had been found, but it seems kind of wierd that they would be able to put their work on hold just to come here. Unless this is where they normally are, but then wouldn't they have found us before now?

A set of floodlights illuminate the Seeker craft, as you notice that it's as rust colored as the ship that had lifted your wreck, and slightly larger than the Shushan was. Several ion pulse turrets are on the top and sides of the craft, but no missiles are visible. The armed squad ushers you onto the ship, and with a flare of ion engines, you are borne once again to the darkness of space.

Good to know. Where did they come from though? I'm assuming that as far as we know, there were no meteor showers like this; it it debris from the battle still falling, or did something happen to bring meteors into the vicinity of the planet? And I mean ask the guards and/or Xenologists about it.

In your quarters is a small personal terminal, a bed, a reinforced porthole, a closet with a self sealing space suit in it, several oxygen tanks, and a heavily reinforced door. The environmental suit you are wearing is capable of withstanding direct application to flames for ten minutes before overheating, is slightly resistant to electricity, and can serve to protect you in an absolute vacuum.

"In the Thanela Planetary system there is an extensive asteroid belt that is mined by the Architects for raw resources, and occasionally they may deflect a few mined out rocks out of the belt and into a planet's gravity well. It helps with the useless clutter up there, and with not much found on Thanela Prime before you, it was a close by target for the rocks." A researcher chimes in from your Terminal to respond to your question.

Hit the terminal and gather as much basic info about the world we find ourselves in, two millennia after our time.

In particular, look to see if any system that might be the Sol system shows up in their databanks.

Then we go and bathe and grab something to eat. We could probably use both.

And then we can take some time to quietly contemplate the fact that we're lost 2000 years past our time, and we appear to be the only human left.
