    You are currently holed up in Santa Cruz expecting heavy enemy assault in the morning.

    Again.

    You were discussing a defensive strategy.
    Currently you have 8 mobile suits from the 131st, 123rd Companies and the Far East Experimental Corps, as well as 8 more mobile suits from your Nachtmaren Unit.

    Aside from that, you have about 9 wings of Dopp interceptors, and 8 grounded Gaw class Assault Planes in various states of disrepair.

    Any way we can get more artillery support from the Zanzibar?

    I'm still in favor of using the Doms to find the position of any land battleships, and calling the Apsalus in to deal with them. If we keep moving fast and hitting hard while we scout, we should be able to break up their lines enough to give us an edge. Just be sure not to stop.

    Also Repostan from last thread.

    Okay. Salinca, the Gouf, Zol and Norris form an impromptu striker squad as per >>8069134

    Looking at the sattelite maps of the terrain, the Feddie forces are going to have to take the long way via the Panamericana and Super Carretera Transismica highways to move a division that size, unless they want to go for a swim. Therefore,

    The S, J and F Zakus form ateam, as do the 2 Cannons and our spare F2s, (1 3-man team, 1 4-man), which then take up a staggered defensive postition in the outer eastern suburbs, backed by Wappa Infantry. We pre-sight the main highways and the large open stretches of land between suburbs for artillery bombardment by the Rhino.

    The Gouf and Dom teams wait inside the massive refinery complex to avoid detection, and as the Zaku teams fall back, the striker teams move out to flank the enemy advance and disrpt large attacks. We then use our MA artillery, Apsalus and OH to force an enemy fallback, during which we reclaim defensive positions in the outer suburbs.

    Dopps remain on standby as AA interceptors.

    On the MA front, you have Hovis in a Rhinoceros, and Ghineus in a somewhat functioning Aspalus 2.

    The Aspy has been ordered onto Fire Support, but don't expect more than 2 shots at best.

    The Apsalus is still suffering from destroyed heat sinks, and has at most two or three shots left in it before it just becomes a flying target. It should probably be kept as a last resort.

    Pfffft, only 75 tanks? I mean, hell, us and Zol could probably account for 50 of those alone. And as for their Big Trays, we have the Rhino and the Outer Heaven. Speaking of which, will the Outer Heaven be providing air support with its guns?

    I'm just thinking that there's really nothing better we could do with the thing. The Land Battleships are the only things we need that much firepower to take out, and if we could do it quickly the majority of their really threatening firepower would be gone.

    Hopefully.

    Also Doms with Huge Bazookas should be on standby to hunt down Land battleships.

    (And we need to flood probable feddie commchannels with Death-metal music. That, plus multiple Skelly-painted suits would have a huge psychological impact. They'll think we're some kind of unstoppable marauding deity who can be in multiple places at once.

    A Tank Platoon = 4 tanks
    Company = 2-8 Platoons
    Battalion = 2-6 Companies
    Regiment = 2+ Battalions
    Brigade = 2+ Regiments
    Division = 2-4 Brigades

    I'd say there's atleast 10 000 men, even in a Armoured division. Maybe as many as 20 000.
    So I wouldn't worry mainly about the tanks really.

    As usually you're up by 7. Still no sign of the enemy, a quick check in with patrols and the Captain show nothing new happened overnight. The enemy forces seem to be heading along towards Mexico at best speed. Fontaine is optimistic that if we do see action it won't be off the main force, but rather a few enemy companies and possibly some remnants of the Mexican army.
    Which if their last performance is anything to go by, will be more of liability ot the feds than anything else.

    You get yourself some coffee, check you're Dom's systems and prepare for a new day.

    You see a squad of Wappa's return to get some sleep before the projected combat time, and wave to them as you mount up.

    Ruubens is doing the same, though she seems to be having a rougher time dealing with the lack of sleep than you are. Experience you guess, she'll be fine once the adrenalin kicks in.

    As you exit the hangar bay wave to Zolomon who's already up and in his Gouf Custom.

    "Well, boss, here we go again."

    TO BE CONTINUED.

    Liquid oxygen or liquid nitrogen?

    Might work.

    Then again, super conducting materials might be better for using in their capicitors, to make them straight up air-cooled.

    Feddies got around the problem like >>8070558 said, via E-Pac tech. Which is basically like a magazine that holds "bolts" of plasma which are contained inside their own prebuilt minovsky particle bubble and are created back on the ship or wherever.
    When the Beam Rifle fires, it extrudes this fusion plasma in a thin minovsky corridor in much the same way that Capital Ship beam weapons extend the range of their guns.
    The difference here being that the minovsky field AND the plasma come pre-packed, all the rifle has to do is stretch the field out.

    That's why Beam Weapons aren't quite the speed of light.

    Failing that I was going to have Zolomon do a Behind Enemy Lines thing and you have to go rescue him.

    Well, the Zeta Gundam did have a one-man design team.

    Admittedly, that one man was Kamille Bidan, but still.

    And Anaheim might well have intended the GP series as prestige projects; a line of suits that are so advanced that the technology won't be affordable for years at least, to show off how awesome they are as a company. They're the concept cars of the UC mobile suits.
