    99 KB Fate/Stay Quest 2: Quest Harder FSN !mF.IqWIAfs 03/16/10(Tue)15:50 No.8617692
Last Time on Fate/Stay Quest: Volg Z. Einzbern of the Einzbern family had come to Skyline City to compete in the legendary Holy Grail War! However he had lost his summoning charm and thus was forced to steal from a local museum. With his mighty bear fighting muscles, he managed to steal Vlaud the Impaler's stake and summon the legendary king as the servant lancer. Now the two seek to go out and patrol the city for more servants...

HOWEVER. Our eyes will move from Volg to another master who will compete in this war. His name is James Emiya. A man of decent build and who looks partially of Asian descent. He is what some may call an idealist. A man who thinks, nay believes, that man kind can and will grow into a more prosperous, ideal race. He is, however, also aware that this ideal dream cannot be attained unless he takes things into his own hands.

He is being tutored, currently, by a powerful and influential magus family. His current tutor is the head of the family in Skyline city. A man named Kentaro Tohsaka, a wise and enigmatic magus. He has trained James well in the arts of summoning and elemental related magic. Recently you have received word from him that he would like to meet with you in private. As his pupil you have been staying within his mansion for some time now. Currently you are within your alloted room. Do you accept?

    Nearly missed the thread.

I notice at long last you are now spelling "Stake" instead of the meaty variety.

    >His name is James Emiya. A man of decent build and who looks partially of Asian descent.

    Mary-Sue senses... TINGLING!

    >A man who thinks, nay believes, that man kind can and will grow into a more prosperous, ideal race. He is, however, also aware that this ideal dream cannot be attained unless he takes things into his own hands.

to are we looking at a Shiro sort of idealism, or a Kiritsugi badassed Ends Justify The Means kind of person?

    >Kiritsugi badassed Ends Justify The Means kind of person?

(Probably more of that one than Shirou)

You accept. Solemnly you walk out of your room and make your way to your teacher's lodgings. As you move through the large mansion you see all sorts of paintings, historical artifacts and fancy trimmings hanging off the wall. Kentaro is indeed a rich and influential man.

It kinda annoys you that he would summon you out into a private meeting like this however. The Holy Grail War is about to begin and you aren't quite sure you want to get involved yet.

I mean... do you want to get involved?

Getting involved does seem like the best choice at this point. Mages from all around the world are getting involved. Even if you don't have a servant there's no telling what some of the more paranoid ones will do. It may be better to be prepared by getting involved then be a victim by sitting on the fence.

To be honest yes. Emiya was just some random Mage hiding out in bumfuck nowhere. If you'd had said that we were a Tohsaka, or a Matou (or some branch family of what the Matous were before moving to Japan) then it would have been fine, those guys are big heavy hitters in the Magic Society.

... not that you'd ever PLAY such a nerdy game or anything...

You open the door and walk into Kentaro's trophy room. The elderly Japanese guy sits at his desk, going over some various trinkets and paperwork. That old bastard's always doing boring shit like that when he could be like... launching fireballs at targets or stuff.

Oh great. You can probably just GUESS where this is going! I mean it's not like it wasn't hammered into your skull by a certain itchbay that constantly reminded you that she would be competing in the Holy Grail War and she would require an assistant mage to carry her books and shit.

"In terms of artifacts," he says "I can get you nearly anything you want at a simple command. In terms of recommendations all that I can offer is that you choose wisely. The saber class, for example, is supposedly the strongest..."

He proceeds to pull out the item that he was working on. A belt with a silver buckle and with several gems infused into it.

"I can offer you this as well. Keep in mind that while my facilities will be open to you... I would prefer if you chose your base of operations somewhere in the city."

This doesn't make any sense. You're his pupil. A lowly second-class mage who just wanted to get his training so you could... well... be awesome you guess. But this is a bit much! I mean all he's really done is show you the ropes and let you get pushed around by his daughter. Why does he want you to compete in the holy grail war on behalf of his family!?

Skyline city is a large city that is against the coast of a great bay. The city is divided into three sections in terms of there being a large, bustling cityscape full of skyscrapers and office towers, an entertainment district where restaurants, theater and various other leisurely places are built up and finally there's the residential area where most houses are. The areas themselves have their own subsections and due to the city's influx of immigrants when it was first constructed it's not uncommon for there to be various ethical areas of the different sections.

The highest point in the city would be the mountains just to the north of here, but there aren't that many houses up there.

There's also a river that runs through the city, but it doesn't really divide anything.

With the grace of an Arabian swan (there are swans in Arabia right?) you swing yourself over the fence without being seen and slowly slide your way into the clocktower. There's regular work to maintain the clock every week but if you keep you and your servant well-hidden enough that shouldn't be a problem.

Inside the clock tower is a spectacular view! The stone walls reach up a good 30 feet in the sky. The clockwork parts tick away in long, slow drolls. It might be considered infuriating to anyone else, but listening to Janya talk about herself for 4 years has given you the patience of a saint!

    More specifically:

Decoration Disorder Disconnection is a mystery novel written by Nasu Kinoko and published irregularly on Faust magazine.

Abnormal Antagonist Syndrome, commonly known as "Demonic possession" prevailed in Japan. Patients of the syndrome have malfunction in the secretion of the neurotransmitters and it gives rise to the acquisition of new parts in the body and supernatural power. The patients of "A-Syndrome" were unnaturally concentrated in Shikura city. Ishizue Arika lost his left arm in the A-syndrome related accident and hospitalized. After he left the hospital and went back to Shikura, he met a beautiful boy with no limbs living in a dark basement. The boy asked him to exorcise the "Demons" possessing A-Syndrome patients. Arika was involved in the bizarre cases and the fights with the "Demons".

Slowly the time approaches. You mentally brace yourself for the vision that will appear before you. The minuet hand strikes. And the bells begin to ring out in glorious succession.

You begin your chant. An ancient pattern of archaic sayings, runes and mysticisms. You feel the magic begin to build... you start to worry. You grab for your belt and hope some of the magical power inside gives you strength. Whatever you were expecting certainly wasn't happened next.

    *CRASH*

The face of the clock suddenly has a figure go flying right through it. Shards of glass hit the summoning circle and a large object goes crashing into the earth. You brace yourself as the smoke clears...

An armored figure stands before you now. Completely covered in head to toe. He wears a helmet that covers his face entirely, black armor covers his body in an intricate pattern.

You aren't quite sure what you're looking at right now... but you have the sneaking suspicion your attempt to summon the Dane has failed.

    "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?"

"Ahhh," he responds as he walks toward you "then you are the master who summoned me here?"

"I'm more than that! I'm the guy who's pretty pissed off! Why the hell didn't I summon the Dane!?"

    He looks at you curiously.

"The Dane? You mean Ogier? How interesting. Well sadly I am not him," he explains.

I'm not sure if it works that way. I just thought it was a rider-esque version of Lancelots Noble Phantasm, but instead of turning mundane items into weapons, he can turn anything into something that can be ridden, and he (being rider) can ride anything.

Or it'd be like a transformer, he touches it and it bayforms into a bike of some kind.

well, this is quite the conundrum...

Volg: order vlad to attack, approach the enemy ready to give him a SPINNING PILEDRIVER
Tobe: get out of the clock tower, find something for rider to hijack for your ride, RUN AND DON'T STOP RUNNING, THIS IS BAT COUNTRY
    >> Anonymous 03/16/10(Tue)19:46 No.8621479
    >>8621453
In kamen rider the first enemies fought 95% of the time are either a bat monster or a spider monster, and one usually closely follows the other

Alright. I'm gonna ask each individual poster to roll a 1d20 now.

First post with 1d20 is Vlaud's attack, 2nd is Volg's attack and 3rd is Tobe trying to find a ride to get out of bat country.

Pointed this out in the last thread.

And now I actually wonder why, he want the grail allright? But why does he listen to Volg? Gilgamesh might have had independent action, but he surely would have been defiant even so.

Oh good. The daughter probably just pulled a switcheroo when daddy wasn't looking. We TOLD him we wanted the full statue!

In any case ask Rider if he can handle this guy.

Considering that Dracula was on of the guys on my Bumper List of Servants that you DON'T want to ever go up against, I'm guessing it might be time to book it.

Also, OP? How are we supposed to control two of them at the same time?

"Alright Vla-" Volg is about to give away Lancer's name but one glare from him stops the mighty russian.

"... Lancer. Let's get him! Looks like he was just summoned!"

"Know this magus. You ultimately have command over my actions but do not think you can order the king of Wllachia like some dog!"

Volg gulps "... so uhh... still wanna take him?"

"Alright," Lancer shrugs as he jumps down and lashes out at Rider with a clawed hand. He misses and is caught by an outstretched glove.

"Lancer eh?" Rider comments as Volg jumps down at Tobe.

"ULTIMATE BEAR FLOP!" he shouts... and boy is it a flop. He hits the ground right in front of Tobe.

"... wow..." Tobe looks around... the motorcycle he rode here on is just beyond the gate!

"RIDER COME ON! WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE!"

You shout to him and he seems to acknowledge. Rider jumps away from Lancer, proceeds to punch open the gate and immediately gets him and you onto the motorcycle.

"You sure you can ride this this?" you ask in a moment of stupidity. Rider looks over his shoulder at you and you slap your forehead "Right, right, Rider. Forgot".

And just like that you speed off. Volg, Vlaud. Do those two pursue or do they let them go free?

A group of bats and a huge muscular man chase down Rider... and immediately get hit by a truck.

Lucky for Volg his IMMENSE MUSCLES protect him... for the most part. He's just knocked to the ground while a bunch of bat guts splatter against the wind shield.

    Rider and Tobe watch this.

"... what a bone head..." Tobe says. Rider nods.

"So where to next?" Rider asks. You get the sneaking suspicion you've been set up... if that's the case. There's only one place to go to next...

"Rider. Take me to Tohsaka's mansion. I have some business with the old man."

Just like that, a pair of rockets sprout on the mundane cycle's back and the pair ROCKET OFF!
