You wake up in a white room, resting easily in a reclined chair. The room itself is featureless with a single door set into the wall in front of you. You look down at yourself to see a rather plain white smock draped on you, fastened losely around your neck. Who are you exactly? What are you? What is your name? The answers to these questions elude you as you sit up to check out your body. Human and female.

Your hands explore your feet to find a small band-aid stuck to your right big toe. You poke at it. It doesn't hurt. You peel it off to find a small white square of paper underneath it. Picking it up, you unfold it and examine it.

"Your name is __________. Don't forget it! They will make you forget! Get out before you forget again!"

    Odd, the name is unreadable.

    GO /TG/ GO!

Our name is Jimmy Sankis. We proceed to attempt to open the door.

It sounds familiar in the empty void that is your mind. You decide to call yourself that and get up from the chair to push on the door. You look for any sort of handle, but do not find anything of the sort.

You walk away from the door to check out the walls around you and the door slides open to reveal a rather short man in a white doctor's coat.

"Well now, good to see you're up. Did you sleep well? How are you feeling?" He has a small clipboard and pen, his small ID tag identifying him as "Dr. Leroy Ishmack." A silly name.

You quietly stroll closer to the Doctor, looking as if you'd like to see what he's writing. He moves to hug his clipboard closer to his chest, but does not move. His eyes meet yours as you realize you have a slight height advantage on him. And then you pounce.

You swing your right fist into his gut as he wheezes in surprise. He drops his pen and clipboard while bending over, gasping for breath. You bring both your hands clasped together down on the back of his neck and he crumples to the floor, hitting his head hard on the metal base of your chair. A small smear of blood is left on the metal block, nothing more. The door is open and unguarded.

    Next move /tg/?

You peek outside your room to find yourself surrounded by other doors like your own. A metal walkway connects the doors together and you appear to be on the third floor of a six floor... institute? The word eludes you.

Looking to the end of the hall you see an entrance-way labeled Cafeteria. Mmmm... You never realized how hungry you were before. You start moving over the cold metal catwalk towards the Cafeteria, passing by several inset doors similar to your own.

Reaching the double door entrance to the Cafeteria, you peek through to see three people in lab coats eating together at a small table with a janitor sweeping the floor nearby. A small staff on right now.

You lunge for the Exit, trying to beat it before the startled guard does anything rash. You run faster than you ever have before and burst through the glass partition with the loud noise of shattering plate glass. You suffer a few long cuts on your body, but remarkably nothing too deep.
The trapped soul of the Security guard inside the glass of the booth suffers a massive crack as the image wavers and dissipates. Freed!

You land hard on the glass covered floor, your bruised shoulder taking a few choice pieces of glass into it as well. That doesn't feel to good. In front of you lies a pair of solid wooden double doors.

There seems to be a menacing shard stuck in your shoulder, and you yank it out to use as a weapon just in case. You carefully stagger to your feet and open the double wooden doors at the end of the hall to find a man in a suit sitting behind a rather heavy wooden desk. His fingers are folded in front of his face and he's wearing orange tinted sunglasses that shine dully in the meager light coming from the windows behind him. Red blinds are pulled down over the windows, adding to the dark atmosphere as you slowly tread over a thick shag rug.

"Nice to see you back here so soon, 14. I'm Jim Sankis, if you've forgotten. You always wake up so confused nowadays. Don't want to go through with the medication anymore?"

You can hear the Doctor crunching over the broken glass some distance behind you.

It's something for me to consider, at least. My main appeal is that it would be easier to run than one in a modern day setting. And I like both ideas.

I'll have to broach the idea to a couple more people and see what they think.
