    A night time drag race across the charcoal wastes of Goff territory spelled a mixture of boon and bust for your boyz.

    One Ork in particular - a wild-eyed, tattooed boy named Druzka - has proven himself to be the best driver in your Waagh. Indeed, as it turned out he was the anonymous but talented driver of your shooty tank during an earlier encounter with the Burny Nunz. You have promoted him to a position of prestige in your clan and attached him to your retinue as your personal driver.

    On the way back to your base, some questionable navigating resulted in a detour through a particularly savage tract of land. Much like the rocky valleys in which your mob was ambushed by the Burny Nunz, this dark ravine did not have kind intentions.

    Glyphs painted on the rock, and banners hung up high indicated that it was a settlement of the Snakebite clan - primitive Orkz happier with a boar than a warbike, and spears rather than dakka. Something was amiss, however. Seemingly desserted but for squigs shuffling low on the ground, your boyz were unnerved by the caves' impenetrable darkness.

    And then the spears rained down. The Snakebitez poured out of the caves and it was clear that they had been corrupted by an insidious genestealer presence.

    So, too, was their squiggoth.

    A chase ensued. In Grotlikka's words: "First wez blew 'im up with da rocketz, den der Boss hopped off and klobbered itz brainz out!"

    You ordered your boyz to load up slabs of its meat, large patches of its hide and the head and tusks and then headed back to base.

    After a long snooze, dawn arrived once more. There is much work left to be done, and yet another enemy has emerged to challenge your rise to power.

    We need to find out what kind of enemies there are to fight and win against. As a longer term goal get the digging machines to turn the area around the base into difficult terrain. Get the gretchin to make gretchin tunnels so anyone who attacks you will be ambushed by angry gretchin and saboutaging snotlings.

    Also we could decorate one of the trukks and send it back to the main ork camp to attract more boyz by spreading tales of our exploits.

    And god damn get the gretchin to work! We shouldn't have to tell them what to do! They know wats orky and they should have orky things built fast or dey'll be krumped and fed to da squigs!

    The main three threats at the moment seem to be the tyrannical Nobz at the camp, the Imperial forces and the Genestealer Orkz. The Tau are too far away, and tied up with the main Goff fighting forces.

    The Grotz seem to be hesitant to undergo significant work without approval from your or one of your underlings. They can begin tunnelling work immediately - though obviously it will take awhile.

    A Grot that masterminded an escape from a particularly nasty Squig Herda - possibly the one that you met earlier. His little fingers can stitch up wounds a lot better than any Ork Dok could. Is touchy about the treatment of his "fellow lib'rated gretchen".
    -Druzka
    Your best driver and a good candidate for the Kult Of Speed, if they got their hands on him. Covered in blue and red tattoos.

    Mobs
    -36 boyz
    6 tough ones with chain-choppas. 10 shootas. 9 grenade launchas. 3 rokkit launchas.
    -6 Squigs
    Little, red, bitey and fast.
    -44 grots
    20 have lasrifles and looted 'ooman equipment. The rest are general labor, mostly oilers.
    -32 snotlings
    Simple, tiny and mostly ignored. Good at cultivating fungus, and not much else. Keep the squigs away from

    Vehicles
    -Killy Kart. Warbuggy with rokkit launcha. Fits 4
    -2 looted tanks
    Rhino chassis. 1 reinforced with a twin-linked big shoota. 1 skorcha tank. Holds six boyz each.
    -2 Trukks.
    Fit 15 boyz comfortably, more if you drive extra slow and make 'em hang off the sides.
    -3 Construction Vehicles
    1 heavy lifta, 1 digger and 1 bulldozer.

    The Base
    -Defenses
    Metal wall surrounding perimeter. One gate. Tall towers in each corner. Autocannons in east towers, twin-linked heavy stubber in north-west.
    -Supply & Command Depot
    Several storeys high. Majority of building is warehousing and unloading areas. Stairs to the rear leading to makeshift offices over floors.
    -Barracks
    Three separate buildings. Each can fit 20 Orkz, or at least twice as many runts.

    Get a squig pen up outside da base. We'z don't need no squigs runnin' loose eatin' da gretchins, and it'll be another layer of defense.

    Let's upgrade our gear. Add a grenade launcher to our shootaclaw.

    Meanwhile, have Gutwort rip out the heavy lifta's engine and turn it into a generator, and have da boyz shove more armour on da trukks (they're open-topped, right?)

    After we get everything patched up, We'z gonna want to go back to da base and tell da boyz there's a tyranid threat. Get da nobs stirred up about it, get them to charge da tyranids in claw to claw combat, and take out the remainders ourselves.

    Then we can deal with the rest of the things.

    A handful of the Gretchen are diverted from the digging project to weld a fence up outside the base. It shouldn't take long, though if you want to avoid casualties the boyz should handle moving the squigs there, not the Grotz.

    The base is in a state of heightened panic and disorder. Parking up outside the now familiar mekshop, you and your boyz get out of the vehicles and try to assess the situation.

    It seems that karts full of equipment are being loaded up and the Meks preparing to mobilise. You collar one of the more important looking oiler boyz, threatening to blow 'is 'ead off if he doesn't summarise it quick for ya. He looks up at the killy dakka strapped to your arm, then at your crackling klaw. He squeaks.

    You ask the mek where da nobz are. Seems that they are preparing their battlewagons and warbikez to leave the camp. You order your boyz to hop in the trucks again and ride to the where the Nobz are and start smashing 'em.

    At the other side of the camp it seems that the mekboyz information was correct. Most of the camp seems to have crowded here, loading the largest of the camps karts with supplies and packing the transports as full as they can get. The Nobz are in the center of it, watching over their prized vehicles and stomping on the heads of the Orkz not working fast enough.

    Druzka speeds up the truck, causing it to rattle and crack as it bounds over bumps and holes in the track. The mobs assembled at first don't notice the approach of two more vehicles, but it seems that the distinctly 'umie designs of the trukks is a hallmark of your mob. Several of them start shouting out "Oi! Datz Bakkhakker's boyz, dat is!"

    Not yet slowing down, the crowd jumps out of the way as the truck approaches and threatens to crash into them. Most get out of the way, but you do end up crashing - straight into one of flasher looking battlwagons.

    The Nobz oar in rage. All of them have nasty looking shootas and nastier looking klaws. Three of them are grouped nearby, while four more are spread out further away, shootas already laying down a hail of slugs on your vehicle.

    A Waaagh cry and savage leap from your trukk later, your 'ard boyz have advanced on the gitz stupid enough to try to defend the Nobz. Meanwhile, with launcha boyz from the other truck have trained their weapons on the Nobz grouped nearby.

    They seem to fire almost completely in-sync, their explosive landing in the dead center of huge boss Orkz. Without time to react they are torn to shreds by the shraphnel, some being pulped and those with heavier armor of cyborknetics merely torn apart.

    The majority of the many hundreds of boyz gathered seem on your side - or, more accuractely, undecided in their loyalty. Fighting has broken out amongst them, though it seems to be more of an opportunity for brawling than a civil war.

    The remaining Nobz and their underlings have entered a battlewagon however, and are pulling away. Your trukks have crashed and will likely be unable to follow them, but there is another battlewagon to hijack.

    Overcome with rage that could have scarcely been felt before in all of Orkdom, you order another pair of boyz to take control of the elaborate steering system in the battlewagon. The burning husk is pushed away as it speeds away.

    Despite their early start it seems that their pause to fire on you costed them a siginificant lead. Almost as mad as you are, your boyz manage to catch up and the two vehicles are soon within leaping distance - those in mega armor excluded, of course.

    From the platform on top you fire dozens of slugs at the grots pouring in and out of the compartments of the enemy kart. Your initial grenade volley seems ineffectual, but when the squad joins in the combined explosive force soon tears plates of armor from the chassis and topples weapons platforms, leaving it gutted and helpless.

    The Nobz seem to be hiding inside, out of sight, and their coward only angers you further. You scream at the drivers to go faster and even over the din of the engines and dakka, they seem to hear your order and obey. the front of your wagon now scrapes against back of theirs, and seeing your opportunity you charge forward, missing the top of their truck but crashing through a weakend panel somewhere lower down.

    The Nobz are not immediately apparent, but it seems that you crushed a pair of Ork crew. Roll to find and krump the Nobz.

    It seems that Gork and Mork are possessing you today. You know only the desire for vengeance - brutal and slow.

    A handful of Orkz surround you, many with flasher weapons than any of your boyz. The muzzles of their exotic shootas blaze as hundreds of rounds are let loose, surely deafening to all nearby. You care not. Gutwort's handiwork is of exceptional strength, the bullets either graze or ricochet off of it harmlessly. Dozens of rounds seem intended for you head, but you feel only a dull, distant thud in your head, the blood pouring over your eyes of no consequence. Your retribution is bloody and quick for these lesser Orkz - your klaw tears limbs and torsos from their associated parts, your shoota jams into their chest before shredding their organs messily.

    Over a dozen body litter the floor by the time you move on and still more bullets assault you from all sides. You ignore them, seeking your true enemy - the Nobz undeserving of both their titles and life.

    You move faster than you ever have before in your cumbersome armor, speeding down a level to the engines where the Nobz must be hiding. Indeed, they are, and yet more slugs greet you as you descend the ramp and spot them. They roar, but it is halfhearted and full of fear - more fear than they felt when fleeing from mere Tau.

    Again you charge, not bothering to fire as you do. These slugs sting as they hit you, several ripping through your armor, but you are relentless. A juggernaut emobdying all that is Orky, you could have moved the miles-high mountains of the western wastes.

    The Nobz eventually stop shooting and power up their klawz. They storm towards you but the first of them has their head collapsed with a brutal thump. The second attempts a side attack, but your gun is too quick for them and they are blown away by a grenade. Now feeling the sting of heat, you do not let the final pair make the first move.

    Both seem willing to give up, to swear allegience, to make amends. It doesn't matter because you don't care, and Gork & Mork would take away their blessings if you did. You reach them and shoot a couple slugs at each, enough to blow out their knees but not kill them. You stand over them and cackle sadistically. You lift a boot and stomp - repeatedly, methodically, powerfully - until an arm comes off. Then the other. One Ork is screaming in agony, unable to do anything but writhe in agony. The other is crawling away with shattered leg bones. You raise your shoota. One slug explodes his skull and he collapses without further fuss.

    The roars continue for a long time before you join your 'ard boyz and the rest of your clan. It seems that the majority of useful supplies have already been loaded into the fleet of vehicles, but at your insistence everything even vaguely portable is strapped on the sides and backs of the karts and wagons and buggies and warbikez. It takes time, precious little that you have, but it is done eventually, and in spurts and starts the convoy moves out from the base.

    You, atop the same battlewagon as before, are at the front of the convoy as you head back to your new base.

    Once your Waaagh sees the pitifully undersized base they now call home enthusiasm drops somewhat, but you and Grotlikka's krumpings soon get them in line. You assign work to almost everyone, the major tasks being:

    1. Prepare trench and tunnel system
    2. Set up a proper generator
    3. Expand existing barracks and build new ones
    4. Extend squigpen. A lot.

    Needless to say, many boyz will be piled up in the depot until the tasks are completed. However, the immense labor force available to you means that these daunting tasks take surprisingly little time - within a few days.

    Your base is still undersized for the population, but piling up in the depot and battle fortresses is good enough for your boyz to snooze in for now.

    There are now heavy dust storms, however, and scouting will be next to impossible. The scouting party sent out before you left for camp has yet to come back.

    The Dok seems concerned when he examines you, for a variety of reasons. Chief among them is the fact that you've brought over all the Orkz he tried to escape from, and secondly because a significant portion of your skull has been powdered. It will take awhile to heal, and during that time any more bullets - or maybe even a good thump - could mash your brains. It looks like you could be ready for a second bionik part - or possibly just a helmet.

    Make more towers with long-range shootas or rokkit launchaz. We'll need those for base defense.

    Also, tunnelz outside our base for surprise attacks and ambushes. We're gonna go all 'nam on their asses and would prove particularely useful against Tau and 'humies who are widely known to suck in a roit fight!

    Maybe some 'asplosive traps along the way, specially at choke-points facing north and south.

    Emplaced long range lobbaz or atillery? Maybe even a Zzap Gun?

    Expand the workshop, paint it red and make Gretchen production lines so as to have fastier production of vehicles and all that jazz.

    Like out of control nanomachines if they were green instead of grey, the Gretchin seem ridiculously quick in their construction efforts. The original three buildings holding 20 each are expanded into 6 multi-storey, interconnected barracks that extended several storeys above and below ground.

    >Defenses
    The tunnels are quite extensive already, and now linked up directly to the barracks. This should make night-attacks against you much less efficient.

    There are more than enough weapon to improve the towers. Replacements are made for the two destroyed autocannons and addition twin-linked heavy shootas are placed along the walls.

    It seems that your boyz took it for a given that you wanted a minefield. They have already been littered outside

    >Production
    With the generator constructed (mostly underground to prevent damage in case of a siege), serious mek work can be done. The imperial supply depot is converted into a mek workshop with the rooms on the upper levels inhabited by the mekboyz grot assistants. Expanding it is largely unnecessary for now - it is quite massive.

    There seem to enough vehicles to transport da boyz at the moment. Your meks pointed out that with the fighta-bomma project underway, there is precious little scrap left. More will have to be stolen, bought or mined.

    Fixing up the already impressive battle fortress should take little effort though. They mount the squiggoth tusks on it, and plenty of lucky blue glyphs on it. You should give it a name, to emphasise its signifiance as your personal war machine.

    I was quite surprised at how well that bit went down, really. Like with the Commissar fight a few threads ago, it seems that boss battles reveal that there are more lurkers than I had imagined.

    I was also concerned with the possibility of the quest gettng boring with sudden surges in power. However, it's worth pointing out that Toofsum's forces are around 1000 greenskins, plus a couple dozen vehicles. There is clearly a planetary war going on, however, so the humans and Tau are not going to too threatened yet.

    It seems that you have set your horde to work as best you can for now. With the vicious sandstorms destroying visibility and any hope for searching for a good fight, you instead seek out your second-in-command, Grotlikka, to catch up on things.
