    >>9116292
And yeah, that's the gist of it. Works a lot better when you've also got Seedborn Muse out, but yeah.

Kamahl is, in and of himself, a pretty troll-y card. If he sticks around, you're just going to overrun like, three times in a turn with a pile of tokens out.

And if, god forbid, someone tries to play mass-removal to deal with all of your dudes, you just turn all of their lands into dudes also and completely hose them.

It's different because it can be interacted with. Blue's fundamental design is of noninteractivity. That noininteractivity is rarely fun for the opponent nd often not fun for the player. The tedium of Blue's former design was so great that Wizards have been fundamentally changing the mechanics of a colour for the first time, to find blue more interactive control. What more do you need to accept that blue is often not fun to play against than that a company is taking a massive risk in changing a core design element of its single most successful product?

We do know that. Playing a reactive game with the same resources as an active game is difficult. The complaints are to the effect that hard control, which is what blue is comprised of for the best part, doesn't 'scale down' in nuisance levels as you take the game less seriously. All serious rounament-level decks are as difficult and intensive to play against, and people don't midn that because you know that coming in. Blue requires a player to force such an intensive game in any environment in order to be playable. Blue's fundamental design makes it inherently 'that guy' to an extent in all situations.

Infinite mill combo. If cavern harpy is not countered, its own ability bounces it back to its owners hand infinite number of times. Countering Brainfreeze doesn't do shit because storm forks the spell infinitely upon cast, not resolving.

Ironically I didn't get a dickpunch from this...but the only guy at the table playing blue insisted on shaking my hand.

There's a list of aluren decks. Some run the combo. I'm trying to figure out what elements I want to keep personally.

Cavern Harpy is a beast. If you have Aluren out and Cavern Harpy in hand with Wirewood Savage on the battlefield, it allows you to essentially draw your entire deck tutoring for brain freeze. It doesn't matter at that point if you have 27 cards in hand as you're killing everyone that turn anyway.

That doesn't give you the timewalk since it doesn't count as cast. Neither does Sneak Attack for that matter.

With suspend, the card actually gets played, thus the trigger goes off, essentially giving Emrakul haste and you another turn.

I'm a little worried about defense against high aggro/quickly building decks...but the deck only has to survive 6 turns essentially.

The idea would be to drop Jhoira and suspend an Eldrazi the second shit hits the mat (while I have priority) then if they bolt her it doesn't matter. The Doomclock is already set to 4 minutes to midnight.

Doll deals damage to itself/player. Conscience deals damage to enchanted creature (doll). Thus Doll then deals damage to player, thus Conscience triggers again.

    No, it works.

SD dealing damage causes GC to deal damage to SD, which causes SD to deal damage, which causes GC to deal damage to SD, which causes SD to deal damage...

    No,
Stuffy doll takes damage from whatever, let's say its own ability.
It deals one damage to the opponent, causing Guilty Conscience to deal one damage to Stuffy doll, who then deals one damage to the opponent which causes Guilty Conscience to deal one damage to Stuffy Doll which then deals one damage to the opponent and etc until the opponent is out of life.

Stuffy doll is tapped, and deals 1 damage to itself.

Then its effect activates, dealing 1 damage to an opponent.

Then Guilty Conscience activates, dealing 1 damage to the stuffy doll.

The doll's effect is triggered again, dealing 1 damage to the player.

Then Guilty Conscience is triggered again, dealing 1 damage to the Stuffy Doll.

Ornithopter gets targeted by the 0 mana equip ability and returns to your hand.
    Replay Ornithopter for 0 mana.
    OR
draw the top card of your library and put Sensei's divining top on top, then use the second Top to draw and play the first one, both Tops cost 0 mana to play.
Each time you do this you increase the number of spells played this turn by 1.
Cards with Storm copy themselves for each time a spell was played before it, with either of these combos you can reach a near-infinite number of sotrm copies.

Here's the idea. It's a goofy deck and not a serious competing one, just one I get a kill with sometimes and get to go "haha I can't believe that worked".

    1. Have Endless Whispers.
    2. Play Leveler. Lose your deck.
    3. Sac Leveler, choose opponent.
    4. At end of turn, that opponent gets Leveler, loses their deck.
    5. Their turn starts, OOPS WHERE DID MY DECK GO

If your gonna spend a gazillion mana on a combo might as well do it with a combo with the least number of cards to rely on. So ya know, most of the cards you raw can be mana to get them to work?

Probably unnecessary, but you could nail a Pariah and a Ragged Vein onto this? And do any spell that does damage to Stuffy Doll during the same turn instead of chancing your opponent snuffing the combo before you could tap the doll?

Right, but there are many ways to remove the Guilty Conscience on it.

I think Pariah + any land that does damage to you is sufficient to start it without chancing the removal of GS.

Your opponent goes first. This allows you to start with the Caverns. During his upkeep (as in, before he draws a card, or has a chance to do anything), you use Simian/Elvish Spirit Guides ability to get some mana.
Tap the caverns for a blue mana, and play Protean Hulk using Flash. The Hulk is promptly sacrificed when it comes into play, in which you search your library for four copies of Disciple of the Vault, Shifting Wall, and Phyrexian marauder.

The Walls and the Marauders die when they enter the battlefield. The Disciples trigger, causing a player to lose 32 life.

I would shake my opponents hand if he manages to pull that off, considering the insane amounts of mana it requires.

Gemstone Cavern comes into the game before it's even started.

Tap it for U and sac either one for R or G to play Flash.

Flash the Hulk into play paying 0 for it.

Sac the Hulk because of Flash's effect.

    Hulk's effect comes turns on.

    Summon 4 of the Disciples
    4 of the Vaults
    4 of the Marauders

Vaults and Marauders are 0/0 because you paid 0 mana for it and are immediately sent to the graveyard activating the Disciples.

You deal 32 damage because 8x4.

    You win.

Well damn. I didn't read the hulk correctly, and thought it was a single creature with up to six power. Or CMC, I can't remember and I don't feel like scrolling all the way down, opening the picture, looking, closing the tab, and finishing this post.

four cards in an opening hand, with one of the four being swapable so its like 8 are in the deck, not bad for 0 turn.

That, and the combo of flash and the creature still works, so even if you don't get it on the hand draw you can drop a land and go for it on the first draw.

mono blue or blue/black or blue/green 'aint bad

    >>9120635
More like twelve if I'm reading it correctly.

The point is to have Proggy on the field (which costs TEN MANA IN DIFFERENT COLORS), play Humility (that's an extra four mana, unless you are hoping he survives to the next round), and then play Otherworldy Journey followed by a Decree of Annihilation (on the same turn no less, for twelve mana).

Awesome combo, but kinda hard to pull off.
    >> Anonymous 04/11/10(Sun)05:12 No.9120709
    >>9120504

You get the blue (from the gemstone), and generic (from discarding one of those two creatures) to play Flash. Flash plays the green creature which dies and you put 4 cultists and 8 free artifact creatures into play (that counts as 4 cost for the 6 cost limit). The 8 instantly die for having no counters, and each cultist does 8 damage to your opponent.

They die before the first turn is played.

But that makes for quite a one-trick deck that relies on having 3 specific cards in starting hand? Or rather 3 and fourth being one of two choices.

For the brief time this combo was legacy legal it just fucking dominated. If it doesn't win on Turn 0, it still is highly likely to win in a couple more turns.

Turn 0 is just an advantage, you can just as easily pull the combo off in Turn 1, or 2, etc.

Rite of Replication + Knight of New Alara.

    That is all.

(admittedly not on par with the listed combos but still good for trollfaces)
