    8 Alien Technology
    9 Plague

An alien spaceship fleet crash landed on Japan. The first two weeks after the event some kind of uber technology is recovered and it seems that much much more lays on the many derelicts laying on japanese soil. Suddenly a deadly plague starts killing people and mutating other humans into aberrant monstrosities. Soon Japan is put into quarantine by the rest of the world but all the governments and corporations desire what's left of the alien technology, so special teams are sent there to locate and retrieve said technology.

    There's your adventure!

    Apocalypse.

Okay so in this dimension, Christian empires eventually conquered the world. Catholicism crushed all the other forms of Christianity, and now the Pope rules as undisputed ruler of Earth, both spiritually and politically. His army of holy warriors are legion. But not all is well in this world, as always there was a counter culture, this taking the form of Satanism. The twist? The religion's correct. The Satanists have summoned the Devil and his minions. A pit to Hell itself has opened from the earth, a legion of demon carrying unholy weapons attacked the Catholic Empire. To even the odds, Angels have descended from heathen. They carry flaming swords and their forms are terrifying, the difference between Angel and Demon hard to tell.

Now is the time of the Final Judgment, the Apocalypse.
    Angels against their fallen brethren.
The cults of Satanism against the vast Holy Warriors of the Church.

This is the end of the kingdom of Man. Now either the kingdom of Heaven or Hell shall spread.

Okay so there is a resource rich asteroid belt in between out solar system and the next one. The line is known as "Space Booty". The other system is inhabited by a technologically advanced race called "Ninja Robots" that hates everyone who isn't a ninja robot and, upon discovering humanity, vows to either with them out or assimilate them.

Humanities only chance lies with entrepreneurs known as "Space Pirates" who are brave enough to plunder "Space Booty" for it's unique mineral known as "Immunium." "Immunium" is the only material that can be forged into weapons capable of killing the "Ninja Robots" through a chemical reaction that zaps them away into another dimension. The reaction is made when you mix "Immunium" with "Ninja Robo-Steel" That all the "Ninja Robots" are made of.

    Mars
    Ghosts
    Civil War.

Man has cracked the science of terraforming, and our first test run is Mars. Soon the red planet is transformed into a lush world much like our own. Soon, due to the overpopulation of our home world, Mars received a huge amount of immigrants. With such a surge in population, missing people were overlooked in the rush.

But when things were more settled, it soon became clear that something was wrong with the red planet. People went missing... or worse. Sometimes they didn't go missing, but they were no longer the same. Rates of insanity and other mental illnesses were vastly higher than on the home world. It wasn't long until scientists discovered the root cause of the problem.

There was once an alien civilization on Mars. It may have not been their world of origin, but they were there. They dug deep, deep into the red planet. And then suddenly, they destroyed themselves in a civil war. The scientists found traces of their civilization when they dug deep enough and soon worked out what happened.

Now the ghosts of these longs dead aliens posses the human inhabitants. And with their new bodies, they being their ancient war against one another, not caring for their human puppets. The civil war that wrecked their civilization now threatens ours.

Hampered by the harsh and unending winter, it seemed that all were doomed, until the Spartans used this grand winter to conquer the rest of the Greeks. Now all of Greece is led by a single strong and mighty Emperor. But not all is well, many Greeks wish to overthrow the Emperor. As well the Emperor is seen as growing too proud and the priesthood has also grown resentful of him. But the greatest threat to this newly found elements is the climate and elements themselves. Only time will tell if this Empire is strong enough to stand or will crumble from within or the elements outside.

No more. Global temperatures have risen to an extreme melting all ice on the globe. The result? Only the extreme peaks of planet earth remain above water, and the water is still rising. Hope is not lost, however, in a last ditch effort of the falling civilisation have we constructed artifical gills that enables humans a new life. Underwater.

Well then, let's replace Emperor with Pharaoh.

When one Pharaoh died, he did rise to divinity. But he refused to let his lands be led by his son, who was incompetent and foolish. And so he did descend to the Earth and refused to abdicate his dominion. Now Egypt is led by a living God, and he wishes to expand his dominion.

The Pharaoh's problems come in three forms.

Many Gods are angry that he has stayed on Earth, and plot against him. Some have decided to descend onto Earth themselves and wreak havoc there. Not Pharaoh and his army must clean their mess and try to get them away from the realm of man.

The other countries, scared of an army led by an actual God, have united against Egypt. It is the biggest coalition in history, and the war shall damage Egypt greatly.

The last threat comes within the Pharaoh's own court. Many wish for his son to take his place. Some out of loyalty to the son. Others out of wishes to manipulated the foolish and dim son.

Through some cosmic shenanigans, several modern cities across Europe have completely transported back to medieval times. In addition to their technology, they brought with them modern viruses, bacteria, and other diseases that these neanderthals wouldn't have the immunities to.

Plagues sweep across these old time countries, crippling the crown powers, leaving these modern cities with a veritable Eden to exploit as they rebuild their own powerbases.

So for instance, you've got modern French cities taking control over the medieval populace in France, doing battle against Germany led by modern Germans, while modern English plot and scheme.

You can be in many places at once, pretending to be a number of individuals in the lionine bodies you created for diplomacy while simultaneously excavating asteroids in hard-vacuum as your insectoid worker bodies.

You've made contact with a couple other intelligences which are similarly decentralized... but the humans and various other sentients are slowly encroaching on your territory, which is filled with semiprecious materials. They must be stopped.

    January 7th, 1978.

The fascist horde rolled over the thin defenses of the Sinai, overrunning the sparse defenders of the Third African Empire. Facing defeat in Europe and Asia, the African peoples settled upon a desperate plan, clones! Only a truly massive army of easily trained soldiers could hope to save the Empire from certain annihilation and assimilation. The fascist powers were well know for their treatment of 'subhumans' and no African relished the thought of their fate. Every possible second and ounce of resource was poured into the rapid development of feasible, though unstable cloning.

As the fascist 7th, 12th and 13th armies slowly crossed the Saharan Jungle, the first clones began their training in the heart of Congo. They went through a rapid 2 week training regime and then were sent out in orderly units to the front. By they, I mean of course the 500,000 clones, who would be followed by millions more, hopefully. When they reached the battlefield, the clones, perfect copies of 2,000 different African volunteers spread out over the entire front. Entire towns were evacuated and all the remaining soldiers were withdrawn. The clones took up the everyday attire of average citizens of Africa.
    >> Anonymous 04/16/10(Fri)19:40 No.9237043
    >>9237025
You see, the clones were not just young male soldiers; such conventional tactics would never match the keen killing machine of the fascist armies. The clones were men, women, children, elderly, genius, retarded, infirm, brave, cunning, weak, every type of person. The experiment would have enraged the Aryans had they understood what was happening, such a mockery of their ideal life would have appalled them to the core. As the 3 fascist armies moved through the dozen towns and cities on the southern border of the Sahara Jungle, they met no resistance, only the everyday people they had conquered a thousand times before. Happy to have an even easier advance they dropped their guard, began to spread out and lose cohesion as their scouts reported regular army units were 20 miles away at the closest.

The clones struck, each had been implanted with a pound of high explosive and several pounds of metal, when detonated, each clone was a terribly lethal anti personnel mine, and the fascists were deep inside the field. Fearless, programmed genetically and trained in their one simple action for two weeks, the clones fell on the fascists, ravaging their forces. Explosions rippled up and down the border, thousands fascists and tens of thousands of clones died in minutes.

The fascists made a peace. Unwilling to deal with such....insanity, they opted to make a fair peace. Could Africa have been conquered? Perhaps, but an enemy possessing limitless humans willing to do ANYTHING to win meant a conflict that was not worthwhile.

    Subterranian, Alien Technology, Godsend

We have discovered what is, for all intents and purposes, Atlantis. Not under sea, but under land, washed beneath the waves of a million tons of rock.

Arthur C. Clark wrote that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. He was wrong. Now that we have it, we realize that what it is indistinguishable from is the Divine. Move over, old gods. We have our new ones. Atlantis is a heaven-sent gift, and mankind can use it to move to our destiny.

Old age is a thing of the past, as are obesity, diabetes, and a thousand other forgotten maladies. It is time to move, to take our place among the stars.

There's resistance, though. From the earth-centric isolationists. From the reactionaries. From the singularityists. Even from the Atlantis-damned aliens, who insist that the gifts we found were not ours for the taking, but belonged to -their- progenetors. We must fight for our survival and ascendence. The alternative is destruction.

    Mars, Mythology, and Chaos?

"The year is unknown - each region keeps its own account and calender, or not at all.

The planet Mars, still desolate for the most part, is home to a dwindling population of colonials of at least twenty-two generations. When the project began, logistics was still an issue as man, manpower and material were oppressed by time and distance to the Earth, and self-sufficiency became a virtue for the hundred thousand and growing population of Mars. Home-grown and self-educated technocrats maintained the phenomenally resilient colony groups, but once the period transports from Earth stopped arriving their inability to develop long-distance space flight sealed their fates. In three generations supplies necessary for the upkeep of all regions had run out. In five the best scavenging could do was slowly postpone the eventual shut-down of a colony bloc, one at a time.

And by the tenth generation the need for an educated technocracy was gone by matter of impotence and inaction - the people were left to their own devices and government, and could do little else but crowd into ever growing and unsustainable metropoles while life-sustaining regions fell into ruin and decay - including key regions necessary for hydroponics.

Hunger did the rest, and the last of human presence on Mars will most surely disappear with a riotous bang, not a whimper.

    Forgot the Mythology part, whoops.

"By the twentieth generation, no bureaucratic government exists, no system of higher education beyond the ancient master-apprentice dynamic. Society is structured along forced tribal groups, each with mythology surrounding their founding and/or exceptionalism and right to rule over others."

    South Pole, Time Travel, Chaos

Ships traveling through the Warp sometimes arrive early, sometimes late, and sometimes before they leave. This effect is utterly unpredictable--usually. The year is 1987, and a very small Chaos task force has arrived on Earth. Their arrival utterly destroyed several square miles of Antarctic ice, and several researchers in various south pole stations perished from the aftershocks. In the present, X-COM agents are being scrambled to deal with the extraterrestrial threat. In the far future, the Ecclesiarchy is trying to find a way to send their own forces back to combat the threat.

The forces of Chaos aim to prevent the Emperor from ascending in the first place--and to make the entire human race bow to their will. The forces of the Empire aim to annihilate Chaos and ensure the Emperor's immortal reign.

The forces of Earth just want to get everyone the fuck off their planet.

Pirates and Dinosaurs in the Gobi Desert?
Um, maybe there are dino-riding raiders, who rob more peaceful dinosaur-riding merchants.
Aaaand the reason the merchants don't have badass carnivore dinos is that carnivores only eat human flesh in this setting.
